It used to say spam was not in the dictionary. Then someone posted that Dr. God had added it. But apparently, something went wrong with that because now it says spam isn't in the grid when it is. Dr. God knows about this.

Way back, the flip used to be clue and blurt-free for the first hour (by mutual consent). Then there was this big influx of new players from some other game that shut down and they changed all the terms of the flip.
Car drove by and and fired seven shots at the family next door. Many of them were standing around their cars smoking and drinking.

you're right.....my sister and I were blessed to have our mother until she was 93. Only her last few months were rough on everyone. Up until then, we were taking her to the nursing home to play the piano for the "old" people!!!!

Okay, one more time about spam. It used to say "not in the dictionary". Someone asked Dr. God to add it. When he did, the message changed to "not in the grid" even though it is in the grid. Glitch in the programming.
I think my grandmother was out working in her flowers and yard still at 94. She had to have surgery for colon cancer and then moved to a nursing home and died at 96. I def. think not being able to do her flowers and quilting and stuff killed her.
My m.i.l will be 98 next month. She's in a nursing home now, but she was fine until recently
I just saw Norman Lear on something the other day - he will be 100 next July and looked great.
We can all only hope to still be mentally and physically active to anywhere near those ages!

In the grid: city in FL that has a huge pirate festival in January.
That's sad, allyall, because it reminds me of my old friend, online side-kick and fellow Babbler Renfield aka Renny, who died in a house fire some years ago. We'd been talking on line at the time, me here in UK and her there in US, then she went to check on her husband. Next thing I heard from her brother was that she, her husband and their dogs had all perished. Don't think I'll ever get over that.
Apart from being a vampire's sidekick, pirates were Renny's thing, she was the pirate queen.

Her hubby, a rabbi, was disabled and in a wheelchair, still trying to recover about 3 or 4 years after having his legs, mostly his knees, crushed between to SUVs. He made models in the kitchen, which involved using an electric glue gun and lots of other plug-in and inflammable stuff. There were apparently too many plug extensions plugged into too many sockets and one flamed up, the flammable stuff went up and it was all far too fast for her to move him out in his wheelchair or pull him out of it before the smoke choked them. I'm losing my sense of time about how long has passed these days, but it was at least 5- years ago.

I didn't get very far last night, and tonight I was out with a girlfriend - we saw The House of Gucci (masks on!) at a great lounge-like theater with mini theater rooms.

Portland is highly vaccinated 80% + and we've had mask mandates for all but a few weeks since March 2020. There were only 6 people in the room, all masked, and it was very ventilated!

6 people is not so bad. Often have more than that, umasked in my corner shop if I make the mistake of going there at high school kids crowding in for sugary snacks time. I am masked, of course, and I've had 3 jabs now.

Our Christmas holiday season has started and our beaches are unbelievably crowded - looks like a sardine shoal in the waves - very worrying even though it is outdoors but people are shoulder to shoulder on the sand and in the water
