Morning, all! 15 to go.....

6:45 am

10....

6:50 am

Une is the Babble Speed Demon today

7:03 am

hello all!

7:05 am

Changed my pic yesterday to inclue our new little pup!

7:27 am

Sooo precious 💕

7:27 am

She is a cutie, lindy. How old is she.

7:28 am

they look so happy!

7:34 am

She is 5 1/2 months old

7:34 am

and Pip is about 5 years old

8:14 am

glad to see that wilma found her way home with you, lindy!

8:16 am

Clue for fa6/33 please?

8:17 am

plural of the fa5.20

8:18 am

oh, good, you got the new pup! What a cutie! ❤

8:18 am

Don't have the 5/20.....

8:18 am

fa5 is air circulator + hesitant sound

I just love it when I can only find one word on the opening tile. /s

8:19 am

no anemones for us today

8:19 am

yaum

8:20 am

or yaums, either

nah, already tried that

oh, found 2 more finally. moving on.

8:20 am

I've been at it off and on since last night, and still only have one Y, haha. Now, since I'm using the list, it'll be my last few.

8:21 am

Tx bea!!

one set rhymes with the unaccepted noodles, rbud

8:21 am

yw

8:22 am

ahh, thanks!

8:24 am

wow, those s7's are an interesting pair! (where are those groans for the bad puns when ya need one, haha) [sub-thought - maybe TOO bad, eek!]

I think fu7 should be a word - those people who say "I'm just funnin' ya". and if you've never heard it that way, bless your heart. 🤣

8:27 am

um, did anyone else put in the sweet potatoes and then find themselves totally unable to find any other Y words?

yes, I literally just talked about it 😜

8:27 am

oh yes, i see people were just talking about it, sorry

8:27 am

(okay, technically, perhaps, only one of the s7's is a pair... I'll see myself out)

well, at 8:19

8:28 am

yep, hursh, that was the only one I had all night until hokie helped me out just now.

8:28 am

The other s7 is going to make Nan shriek

so I guess it depends on your definition of "just" to know if I literally just did it or not

8:28 am

sorry

no worries

I've been yelled at before for saying something just happened when apparently that is subjective

phantom funnel and tunnel

8:31 am

well, it did take me a few minutes to actually type the words in, though I got the hint (nearly) immediately, so does it count then or when accepted to the word list? Hmmm...

hmm indeed

8:33 am

You've been yelled at? Here? No way. : D

all that to say I wasn't yelling at you, hurshy, just stating we were just talking about it.

no, it wasn't here, actually, but at my other place 😁

8:34 am

regardless of yelling, i have an internal sense of annoyance with myself for not checking first

8:38 am

oh look, i'm in the grid! cl6/33, that's me!

clufta?

8:39 am

Yes, that is her Star Trek name.

8:39 am

nope

oh, I see it now. that's me too.

I found one UT and that's it. are there weird UN words (as usual)?

nm

8:42 am

there's the bone

only bone I've ever broken and I usually don't see it here

8:43 am

i don't have the fourth one tho

unmat - what I have to do to winston all the time

oh, but that is so close to the PB

8:44 am

yeah that kept making me think i could do unmet

8:44 am

it is close to the PB??

well, it's the bottom u

that I didn't even see until I typed the word

8:45 am

ah

8:45 am

those last two Y words are just like the noodle-y ones with a diff. last vowel - and I'm done, yay!!

8:46 am

anyone else watch Mrs. Maisel and find it amusing that Amy Sherman-Palladino apparently thinks "why audition people? just use the actors you already know!"

8:46 am

thanks rbud

thanks, rbud

well, I never watched GG so I don't really notice that. but joss whedon did that a lot too.

8:47 am

i'm surprised you didn't watch GG

yeah, I don't know how I missed it and haven't ever gone to watch

8:48 am

well you might want to try it while it's still easily streamable

8:48 am

yw. I don't watch Mrs. Maisel, but I don't have Amazon Prime, so there's that.

8:49 am

is that the only place to see it? I do hear a lot about it.

I know they're known for like their rapid-fire talking and that kind of bothers me

8:49 am

yeah, i mean, if netflix or amz makes their own shows, they are only available on those platforms

yeah, it's a Prime show, so can only watch there. unless maybe you can buy DVDs

8:50 am

it made me fall in love with Lenny Bruce, who i did not know about prior to watching

I had heard of him but that was it

obvi that's a mostly fictionalized version of him

8:51 am

my most recent British viewing experience was "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" on Netflix - liked it so much I watched it twice.

8:51 am

anyone know what 7 i am missing? i have three that rhyme and the sc7/8

8:52 am

but that's just one movie, not a series

8:52 am

probably the evil sf7

8:52 am

i liked that a lot too, rbud - then i had friends say "the book is so much better" so that's on my reading list now

I only have 2 7s that rhyme

8:52 am

sf????

8:52 am

this is april 2, not april 1

lol, I almost asked earlier the stats of the 2 s7's but never in my wildest imagination did I think SF.

there are 3 7's that rhyme

8:53 am

thank goodness for morewords

yes, hurshy has them but I just got to 3rd row

now I have 3 that rhyme

8:54 am

that WAS a good for April 1, now that you mention it.

and apparently need SF7 and SC7. and will be going to a look-up thing for SF.

8:54 am

sc7 *giggle* male body part

8:55 am

sc7 is a man bag

ah

GATBO

8:55 am

two plurals for it, 8 and 6

8:56 am

takes a lot of balls to clue that word though

8:56 am

I want to know how sc6 and sc8 can mean the exact sa4 thing, huh? Latin plurals have failed me...

I think the 6 is the "proper" one but the 8 is the english-ized one

8:57 am

speaking of latin plurals, i learned that octopus comes from greek, not latin, which means octopi is not the right plural form, in greek it would be octopodes apparently

like plural medium can be media or mediums

8:58 am

phantom: autumn

8:58 am

good point, hokie, thanks. And hursh, too. Food for thought. (and haha, ru!!)

I do need one more A. bea?

and of course that would bring ruru out of lurking 😜

9:00 am

maybe the an6? (the first one, add a vowel to the building addition)

9:00 am

thanks rbud

that's it, thx!

9:00 am

Ooooh....thank you!

looks like the 5 is the US version

9:01 am

was a new one to me.

TIL

9:01 am

also nobody chimed in to tell us what the fourth U is

9:02 am

so if anyone knows

9:02 am

there are five u's

not me

9:02 am

ut4/5

and not I

I have that one, but thx

9:02 am

un4/6

9:08 am

i don't put in the ones i see because i don't have a subscription

9:08 am

so i have to wait until i see the pangram or i will lose my chance to find it

you should talk to them and see what kind of sub deal they can give you

I def got a better deal when speaking to them

via chat

9:09 am

nah, i'll just wait until i'm someday making enough money to support myself

9:10 am

*knock on wood*

9:10 am

*fingers crossed*

ugh, just saw the bottom N. I hate it when there's 3+ of one tile. so hard to find the words in the last one.

oh, but there's one

HOET and bottom row gray!

9:14 am

today I learned

9:14 am

Today I Learned

9:14 am

oh jeezus

9:14 am

it's a subreddit

some people say "I was today years old when I learned". would you rather see that?

9:15 am

it's a fun subreddit

9:15 am

i'd rather see the spelled out words honestly

I could say today I learned ruru hates acronyms, but that's not accurate.

9:19 am

ooooo a body part is the 8

9:19 am

did it stick out at you shir?

9:20 am

9:21 am

i missed another pun thread?! i got stiffed

15 left, 8 are 4's. guess I will look for those

9:21 am

9:22 am

although some people need additional prodding

9:23 am

i deserve to be pu-nis-ed

was about to say that's a mo4-er and realized mo4 was in the grid

9:32 am

10:04 am

don't even know that one lindy -- something to do with stops?

10:06 am

The sf word I know is sfortzando, which means suddenly forceful. The sf in today's grid is an art term.

10:08 am

got it!

I used my etymological brain.

10:40 am

grats, melon -- do you have a clue for it?

nbt, nbs, > halfway and all ≥ 7 letters. Mediocrity attained!

sf is the prefix, then think what volatile compounds do.

followed by a typical Italian suffix.

10:41 am

explode? combust?

what you might inhale, minys a letter. so, prefix-root-suffix is 2-3-2

minus

10:43 am

An5/20?

10:44 am

Found it!!

10:45 am

sorry - that inhale bit has me stumped too - don't see anything that woud be four letters long starting with y , a, t or u

10:49 am

was looking for sf + plus something I would in hale, not s+....

april98, I love that clue!

10:51 am

certainly not english

my bad, s was the prefix followed bu the inhalant minus a vowel.

It is Italian.

10:52 am

but brings to mind Van Gogh's olive grove paintings

10:53 am

Found it!!

10:54 am

Good lord. That Putin should be taken out and shot with balls of his own excrement. I'm just back from volunteering at a reception centre for Ukrainian nationals seeking refuge in this country. Some people with just the clothes on their backs, their homes reduced to rubble. They are scared, bewildered, exhausted and homeless. Mostly women and children. All of them hollow-eyed.It's just horrific.

1:55 pm

thank you for doing that Soodle - I could not agree more

1:56 pm

As a parent, as you are, Dan, it is beyond belief the trauma these lovely people have been through.

1:58 pm

about 5 years ago one of the software teams I worked with was a small team based in Lviv. One we sponsored for US visa, one has been posting from there - he has sent his family to Poland, one confirmed to have been killed by a Russian bomb, and one I have no idea...

1:58 pm

it is all so horrifying

2:01 pm

I was at a ferryport in Wexford today, greeting refugees who have come here from France. So their journey would have taken days, if not weeks. Many had pets with them. The UK are not taking any refugees - damn Brexit, so, to date, approx 10,000 Ukrainians have arrived here. In fairness to the Irish Govt, they are being housed and given social security numbers, and a lot of practical help. Putin should be shown photographs of these people. Bastard.

2:04 pm

I am glad you were able to help them get help, and see a friendly face

2:07 pm

UNI female parent, change the ending

2:14 pm
