yes I read that too --- I don't understand why anyone would want to live under Putin's fist. It is just sickening to see how people in Russia live. We had the opportunity to do a home visit at one of the towns we stopped in on our Russian cruise. As it was approved by government officials, I assume this was the home of one of the more affluent citizens. It turned out to be what I would describe as a 1930's prairie farmhouse -- rright down to the decor, furniture and appliances.
The lady proudly showed off her garden --- more cabbage than I have eaten in my lifetime!
The news is just hours and hours of heartbreak :-(
i stayed with several Russian families in Russia and Ukraine...life is tough for sure....Putin got support from the people because life got better for the people during his reign...the only way was up and the economy started to roll a little because of the lifting of old communist restrictions...but he got the credit for that...
i ate tons of cabbage, lol...all root vegetables really... ;o)
