good evening everyone :)
hi, nan
te7, to7
Hi.
phant monkey will be bugging me the whole time, I'm sure!
good eventing
it'll be mok-ing you for good measure
Exactly!!
As a moken of it's contempt!
Clues are up
thanks, lickety
Good evening all.
Thanks lickety!
keto
Sorry!
ke7
we
we've all done it Jain! :)
ty m9f9 :D
or7
I feel like almot should be a word since it's demonstrating almost in action...
nbt, nbs, or 8
Ohhh.. the O in the 4th column had me, but now that I got it, I know it from Gigi! :)
nbt, nbs
hoet
not seeing anything -- maybe tomorrow will be better
I am at the same place, Nan
I'll say goodnight, too.
this one is tricky
Same.. pretty much stuck with 51 to go
69 here and still need two 7's and an 8
I also need 2 7s and an 8
bingo! Right column greyed
i have or8 - any idea what the other is ?
no. haven't looked at list
it is singular
that is the or7.....the ro/8 is a compound word
thanks. that's a compound?
I mean... that's 2 4 letter words, but ...
to 4 letter words together
Oh... ha ha ha.. a compound!!
I didn't know how how to clue it
it's literally a compound.
but the two parts are not working as the words that they are by themselves.
It worked, so I'm not complaining! :)
I know(see 1:08am
Ah, you're central time. It's only 11 here
I majored in music, not chemistry
Wow! You studied music at college? In general, or a specific instrument? (Harp?)
majored in music ed with voice major and theory
theory/composition and minored in piano and harp and French and German BME and then Bm
Sweet! When we lived in Cincinnati, I went to see some senior recitals. free music for the win!
French and German for the voice, makes sense :)
Do you teach?
yep....we had to work for our degrees doing that
Nice! I haven't had a voice lesson in such a long time. SIGH.
But I gave one today :)
yes....private piano/harp/classical and pop guitar, dulcimer, recorder, theory, voice etc.
WOW! If I had all of that, I think I'd go into music therapy. It's pretty interesting
My husband got two semesters of free therapy for a couple of students to get experience :)
I sat in on the sessions (over zoom during pandemic shutdowns)
I do that for free in skilled nursing and retirement homes, plus I am a church organist and choir conductor/basically a church musician
Cool! I was leading a choir at the senior living until shut down. I think the average age of my choir was over 85 yo
But I have to have a pianist, I'm not that good
That is so cool that you do that. When I worked in memory care, sometimes singing was the best way to connect with our residents.
at one time I directed 4 German choirs a week.
Yikes! Why all the German choirs?
In Ohio?
yes....I take my baby harp(Yseult harp ) and guitar there when I sing.
Baby harps are so cute! That's what we used when I took harp in middle school.
Was that a school thing? All the German choirs?
The older German American directors died out so they had to make do with me(anAmerican?part German director) who could accompany and direct at the same time.
cultural groups?
Like my last voice teacher's Swedish choir I suppose.
The Yseult harp has only 15 strings and is hand held and played with the other hand unless one is truly blessed with 3 hands
Yes cultural group choirs
Interesting!
Any of it on youtube?
some concerts are local and State and National Saengerfests
should be a semi colon in there, but then I did not major in typing
Oh.. my little needs me. Good night! I'll look that up. The only thing I saw under Yseult was a particular song? But 15 string harp brought up something :)
Okay, I'll call that I as the most asked for word of the day.
I'll bite....go on, stats please? :D
me, too, and the suspense is killin' me...
Hi rbud, ir 5/18
I fly home tomorrow. Sad days - the wedding was amazing
Tiny, but amazing
goodness, that's an odd one, thanks, Molly. :)
Long flight?
Yes, thanks Molly!
25 hours, yeah
wow!
Melbourne to Perth, then Perth to London
hope it all goes smoothly. I can't imagine what it must be like to fly for so long. Or drive, or I guess sit still for that long any more.
Happily, I'm in business class, so at least I get to lie down
well, thank goodness for that!
Good morning.
morning all
Hi Kiani
hello all
Hi aslindy
got the ro8. no idea how I know that word.
I mean, to know it's even a word I should try
Hm, do you know what it means?
only because I then looked it up. it's an ingredient used in insecticides
it is a compound word of 2 4s
Google shows me hundreds of insecticides.
all the ro start with the same 3 letters
Got it!
yay!
I have seen it here before. It seems more like a name of a pasta.
I don't recommend eating it, though
Toxic pasta.
indeed
Toxic pasta sounds like a punk rock band.
Exactly!
I passed halfway and must get on with my day. Enjoy the day.
you too!
Enjoy the day, scrabs
Ori, are you staying dry?
Trying to! It's day after day of rain.
How's your weather?
Are weather is typical NC. Highs in the 40's lows in the 20s. Today it is clear and sunny.
Sunny? What's that? :D
You guys are getting hammered.
It's supposed to clear up a bit starting on Thursday.
these Ks are a pain
we got up to 55 yesterday, bea
ori, your weather is making headline news here
We might have. I was running errands with out a jacket.
and we now have the remnants of your storms, a bit watered down
It was warm enough for the gunslingers to be out on foot.
Of course they had on their hoddies and bandanas.
hoodies
it was warm enough here that some young ladies at the top of the hike were in sports bras
oh, just saw the time gotta go drop my car off. getting a trailer hitch put on it. TTFN.
name that famous person the person who ruined the Beatles
ugh. just the thought of her voice gives me the heebie jeebies.
*performance art*
what was that joke in 2021? What could be possible worse than 2021 for the world? An extra track on Yoko's new album
if anyone could stand the sound, they could loop that cut into a speaker to keep prowlers away
truthfully, i have never met anyone who's actually said they enjoy her 'music.' who buys her stuff?
I have
on purpose?
yes.. he thinks she's a genius
ohhh, nevermind. you meant you've met that one person. i thought you were answering, 'who buys her stuff'
hokie wears the tiara today too
greetings babblers
hello hursh

i see the retina specialist again today at noon grid time.
it's a pretty word
:O you are going to a retina specialist? me too! not TODAY but i have to go in general as my eyeball is STUPID.
nothing serious I hope DC?
what is your eye doing?
last year retinal photography showed minor changes in my retina. Nothing major, nor vison threatening, no macular problems.
oh, that's not so bad then
for some reason, in November and December, i have floaters. But not the rest of the year.
too many coronas :D
yeah, not bad at all. I also have nascent cataracts visible with a microscope.
my right eyeball apparently has never gotten the message that i am an adult and it just keeps trying to grow. as a result it can sort of tear itself apart from the inside and i can get leaking in the macula. then they have to give me injections in my eye to send it a message to knock it off.
oh, that is bad.
oh my god hursh
the injection itself isn't as bad as you'd think but the betadyne used to sterilize it makes it irritated for hours after
bummer
yeah it makes me want to die
not to be so depressing that i bring the whole chat to a standstill...
i've never heard of that condition before
i’m still sipping coffee, brain not all online yet
based on my background in genetics, sounds within normal heman variation to me, if awkward.
oh, found an East African country in the grid.

good answer carla. of course. the air is overly dry outside
hey gwen!
WTG PENQUIS !!
well g'day gwen
tyvm....
hmm, I don't know then.
what no points for "snek" ???
carla we need moist air to breath, hence the humidifiers used on respirators etc.
* giggle * gwen. did you snek a peek at my room?
snek is what people call some of the deadly things in Aus
but I never got that since I don't think it sounds like snek. I say it with a long A.
"no step on snek" -- southern US translation of "don't tread on me" LOL
LOL
well i am heading out....goodnight all.....
sweet dreams dear pen
and I've never actually heard anyone say it like snek, so definitely not a southern thing
gn pen
(just a joke)
but I absolutely pronounce naked like nekkid 😜
