There's an abalone in here. I just looked up the word because I didn't know it. I should because my dad used to harvest abalone back when it was legal. We had to pound it to hell and back, but it was good when he cooked it.

he and daphne are chilled out, nose to nose on the couch right now :)

might be odd, but we've never had problems introducing new animals. i admit we were a little (a lot) nervous about how daphne would react, but she's been great
i'm hoping this will help her with being so reactive to other dogs while on walks, but who knows

bea, have you fostered/rescued any deaf dogs? we're not sure if tucker is permanently deaf, but would like to know what to expect (other than the obvious - can never be off leash, for instance)

no, we haven't fostered any deaf dogs. white boxers are aften deaf and those that came into rescue were placed with a foster home that used sign language commands.

did they note anything about his hearing?
when i asked the foster if she did, she just said it always took them a 'second call for him to notice they wanted his attention' his ears were in bad shape, they're better than they were - i'll be speaking with the rescue admin today about next steps
I was at a stoplight yesterday with a big suv in front with the back window partly down and a big goofy boxer staring at me.. I started making goofy faces and the dog got all excited and wiggly ... Boxers are such a riot
your vet should have some ideas as well.
yes, i think that's where we'll end up. have to be careful though, we're on a two week trial and don't 'own' him yet
