I was required to get C or better in two levels of calculus to get a computer science degree. I changed my major to journalism. :)

Oh my God, calculus almost destroyed my brain
When I got to calc II, I couldn't even do a simple derivative, which i literally the most basic and easy calc thing ever. I decided there was no way I would ever pass.
I found the perfect way to use my interests, I became a library assistant.
(And you know how much calculus I've had to use in my years working in computer science? NONE. EVER.)

I worked as a library page for seven years as my first job. I loved working there. I learned so much.
Great atmosphere. I was in a university library for about 12 years
Worked with two nuns, who were so intelligent and educated. (It was a Catholic university library even though I wasn't Catholic)
Heh. When my department was looking for a librarian, one of my bosses looked at me and said, "Why couldn't you have an MLS?" I said, "Because the pay sucks."
True, you don't go into library work for the money. But, working in a university gave me a nice pension :)
Seriously, if the pay weren't so low, I seriously would have considered getting an MLS. But I only have a bachelor's -- and I make more than the library director where I used to work! Yep, more than the highest-paid library employee!
I thought of an MLS but decided to stay where I was. I eventually became a full time cataloguer.
I only had a community college diploma in library techniques. Anyway, that job basically doesn't exist anymore.
