my dad had a job painting mailboxes a long time ago and he traveled all ver the eastern partof tis country and she went with him, crocheting all the way
several of hers have even made it to europe.. when my sister 's husband was in the army, he was attacched to te general in charge of european affairs and they went with him .. my moms afghans are in france an germany and several other ccountriesf... what a lovely heritage !!

I have one that perches on the top of a plant near the feeder. he is waiting for any other hummer to dare get to that feeder.
and having brightly colored sugar water outside helps, as she might be weak.

flowers on end of broom worked for one guy - the bird flew down low enough to see the door. took nectar before realizing she could leave. before, he was just going from orange to red objects stored near ceiling - none of the dull colored things drew her at all. the flowers were instant attraction.
so the watermelon is brilliant idea i think. getting her to go low.
just remember, the more you bother the bird, the more energy is uses as it is stressed. java's suggestion of dark garage and nectar outside, red not required, give it peace and quiet, just stop bothering the poor thing please. No peeking means at least an hour.
I agree. Hummingbirds are high strung to begin with. They don't need all the circus techniques being described.
Well mr homie came back from being out and said he didn’t see it so I went and looked. It was not last place I left it and I don’t see or hear it anywhere so hopefully it went out.
