It's a very southern American word. You may have the similar British word beginning with a C - like in old sitcoms when a woman calls out to someone far away
in a farm yard, so5 is used to call pigs ..
There are several similar words - same last four letters, but different first letters
If something is nonsense, you may use a similar word beginning with yet a different letter!
That pig calling word is used in the UK as well.
