i have dyed my hair for fun since probably middle school. back then i stayed very natural. but i have always loved colorful hair. im of a certain age + i work from home, so why not?!

I occasionally do color depositing shampoo for fun colors, Eva. We didn't have fun dyes when I was a teenager. One of my former neighbors said he thought older women with crazy hair colors had mental issues and I told him maybe that was true. 🤣

Kap, I'm not going to hold my breath while the count is still coming in for a day or two, given how close the front runners are in polls. Locally we do mail-in ballots, and the latest report for our county shows about 80% have already been received, which is WOW. I hope that trend holds true for the rest of the country.
I find the lead -up is causing clinical panic in me and my clients and am suggesting alternatives to drinking oneself to death. I will watch I love Lucy, take a peak at the stats and go to bed at my usual time. Unless I can't resist a train wreck.

We have commercial-free tv, so I haven't seen a single broadcast ad for any candidate. That has helped my mental health, no doubt. I understand the clinical concerns for many patients right now. For me, it helps to remember that the U.S. President is pretty limited by checks and balances. Congress are the ones who have the real power. And as someone who focuses on healing and recovery, I remind myself: is my energy on the election healing and uplifting for me, or triggering?
The way I look at it, we made it through one Trump presidency. Unfortunately, Trump is acting so erratic I fear that a vote for Trump will end up with Vance as President. And that scares the crap out of me.

I grew up in Massachusetts and I find that my right-leaning friends keep their mouths shut in this kind of discussion rather than piss off their buddies

I don't have a problem with what most Republicans believe in. I do have a problem with who they keep n nominating though.
I grew up very moderate, and I have close friends and family that run the full gamut from far left to far right. I would never voice an opinion that questions their intelligence or morality, but that's just my POV.

Molly, I think there's a lack of understanding on a lot of fronts. It's a pity, but no clear way to solve for it. I'm just grateful we haven't had any major family disruption within my own circle. We did have a year or two of distancing among some parties, but it resolved with time and grace.

I see a few comments here about the upcoming election, and as a citizen of a country that sneezes when the U.S gets a cold, all I will offer here is to remind my American friends how incredibly precious, how incredibly valuable their vote is--not just to Americans, but how globally important this election is. Voters would be wise to fully research the possible ramifications of the promises made by both the left and the right.

For a good perspective on the possible ramifications of extra tariffs being imposed, researching the "chicken tax" that has been in place for many decades is a good place to start.
the daily show did little surveying of people on the streets or whatever and asked them how they were feeling about the election and the responses they showed were all "tired" and "sick of it"
i'm sure it was a very scientific poll.
