morning babblers. How lovely, a big grid!
i moved today. most going to storage tomorrow.
oh wow, seain. Always pretty intense, moving. Are you happy with the new place?
yes, it’s temorary. Will move to permanent place next month.
i’m housesitting and watich fish and cat.
ah okay. Doubly intense. Will think of you.
i worked for this family as a nanny for a few years.
lovely.
I am going to hire movers to get the stuff from the storage unit i think. I’m getting to old for this self-move thing.
i hired movers last move as i was recovering from covid and could not pack or anything.
I hear ya! We emptied out our sea container where we had our stuff stored. For the first time in my life, I have asked for help and did not lift a single box. Also forbid my beloved to do any lifting, the kids did all the lifting and our son did all the organising. Amazing.
i’m going to take a shower and launder my clathes in a few. Then sleep.
have a good one, seain
What a mitzvah the kids.
and than you., Sprite
they are amazing. So loving and caring.
ooh, found a tasty mushroom
:D
ok, shower then sleep. hasta luego and happy babbling, yall.
sleep well, seain
good morning darling sprite
and there she is! Hi my darling, good evening to you
omg, predicted temp for Christmas Day 33C, Boxing Day 40C.
omg I am so so so very much not envious of you guys
i'm going to melt... at least Christmas Day we will have access to a swimming pool.
I would not leave that pool
gimme my dinner on a floaty please
i'm going to sit on the bottom of it, and blow bubbles...lol... might have to come up for air occasionally.
a good wide tube will do
* giggles *
we are gonna pick up Rob's CPAP today!
FINALLY !! * handstands and cartwheels *
if you listen carefully you should be able to hear the cheering..
indeed. I hope it will be an immediate change for him
he's not going to believe it himself. that first full night's sleep is so wonderful.
lol he just said to caya that he would go straight to bed. Not lazy, just practising!
roflol
did you like my Midwinter drawing?
loved it sweetie. almost magical.
yay :) Zentangle is a magical method. You do not plan, you just go with the flow and something wonderful just happens
the release of restraint allows the creativity to flow. i can see that.
*happy sigh*
did i say something right?
fireflies. A truly wonderful grid. I found all but one Q without any prompts!
WTG SPRITE !!
you always do, lol, silly bean
ditto here on the qu's. when i saw which one i missed i was a little cross with myself. what i call the alternative spelling for female monarch. grrr
big hug, my darling. Stay cool. Have a magical Midwinter night. Days will start getting shorter for you now... temps will go down... in time... hopefully...
I missed the same one!
i hope you have a good day darling. * hugs *
no8 another questionable Enable word
rrpar
hello all
hi
hello kiani
how are you?
meh. didn't sleep well.
me either. Ended up on the couch bc Hastur was snoring so loud
not looking forward to the weekend.
no?
I am! only two more days of work for me this year!
at the cabin
ah, the good old extended-family-in-confined-space time
at least we don't have to sleep there, another family is letting us use their cabin just 4 miles away
oh that's nice tho
plus there's a snowstorm coming today, we won't get much but north of us will likely get a good amount
yep we are due a chunk as well
only 1-3 inches here
but I have to go out first thing in the morning for labs
I asked my cat Blizz if he was to blame. He didn't respond, other than to happy-drool
yes, blame the cat
I am looking forward to new furniture today though!
yay!
something comfy to sit on, hooray
I use weather underground to get my forecast. the people behind us have a weather station called Bunhouse.
maybe they have rabbits.
Good morning, Babblers. :)
hi cross
lol
it's snowing here already but not hard. and good morning cross
Snowing here as well. Is only 2cm/hour, but it is lake effect stuff and is supposed to go all day.
I am losing my enthusiasm for this game today
Some hints for the N in fourth column, please.
I don't have those either
you're not required to play, or all at once, you know :P
what? are you sure?
well otherwise I've been doing it wrong this whole time
I suspect the no8 comes from that n but don't know for sure
The no 8 does come from that N and it is a dumb word
aha, got 2 of them
Well, I will just save it for my last word then. :)
molly, is the dumb one plural?
it is not plural
just started snowing here
ne7/28 from the fourth column N
and pl
At least those are words people are familiar with.
what are the stats for the no8?
no8/55
ty
that finishes that n.. thanks molly
good morning everyone
Good morning
yay there is life here
I am sort of here, keeping my dogs contained while we have furniture delivered.
And I'm not abolishing A's and terminating T's
According to Merriam-Webster, the no8 is an adjective, meaning either not included in or subject to the (last part of the word), or (2nd definition) exceeding it.
Anyway, ty Molly for the clue
i'm doing well on each tile except for the p
The P is troublesome, but I've managed to get all but 5 without using the list
I think it should take the superlative of or6/18 (3rd one?)
is the no8 a not word? and is it from the 4th col N? I can't find any of those.
Two of them you have heard of. The no8 is a whack job
Like, literally a whack job or the word is whacky?
Ah...Contains the double letter tile.
thanks bea
still need another N there for HOET
yw
ok, just need 1 A to gray top row
an7.28
yep, regular word?
no
of course not. can I have another clue?
Ends with the plural nick of Hawthorne
thanks, bea. top row gray!
made it to 50. 9-6-15-12-6-1-1 getting to work here. TTFN

Ty Bzz Bea
A clue for the no8, please.
I need that too please.
Negative prefix plus qu 5/16
Ty, Soodles. :)
Waiting to be chastised for giving away too much. 😉
Well, I asked. If someone is that hard about clues in the chat it can be hidden until they are ready.
Very true, Crossy!
:)
Snowy and blowy here today, Soodles. Wish we were in Ireland with you.
We should have about a foot of fresh snow today by the time it is all done,
We were going to visit, but our Labrador got hurt, and now the vet has all our vacation money! :(
how's the pup doing now, crossy?
Had two teeth removed. Had to go under second time because stitches did not hold, and need to go in for torn ligament.
ouch! both for the lab and for the wallet!
Each surgery for the teeth was $2200.00 and the ligament surgery will be $5800.00
Plus everal hundred dollars for assorted med.
Several*
An sure we will hit $10K before he is all fixed up
good lord! last time I checked, a tooth out was about $100, but that was probably 25 years ago. Sounds vastly unfair for you, wonder if human teeth cost less!
crossy...the worst part of that will be keeping the pup calm after the surgery. I'm sorry to hear it!
He is on calming meds as we speak
He'd have to be! Poor thing.
He is a member of the family--he deserves no less. Vacations can wait.
I can attest - getting a human tooth removed costs considerably less
One tooth was broken, and the other had an abscess.
My tooth was broken, and required considerable effort to remove in a few pieces
(I've had full dentures for well over a decade, so wasn't sure about human teeth costs, haha.)
Yes, but unlike you, or I, they had to knock out boy out.
ouch, Gillie! *cringe*
Our boy*
Hi all! Sorry to read about your pup Crossy.
Damn typos.
We are fixing him up, mymuse.
He is six years old and our baby now that we are empty nesters.
fyi, I had an impacted wisdom tooth that had to be removed 2 years ago and needed oral surgeon cause of my implant before it. $6K and got covid on top of it.
Ouch!
They called in a surgeon for Sebastian's operation.
I hope Sebastian feels better very soon.
We're the same crossy...empty nesters that talk to our dogs like they're people all day. Family is family!
I believe my brother had both wisdom teeth removed for less than a third of that, but no implants to worry about
Not to change the subject, but I can't imagine finding 20 more P's!!!
He is stoned to the eyeball at the mall memt, and resting comfortably.
I still need 25 of them, Champ.
At the moment.
Gillie, NYC is insanely expensive.
Neverending...
I'm actually down to 18...excruciating
lol Enable takes Spanish cousin that starts with p
Yep! Got it.
I didn't know the English def
I didn't know the English def
I just tried it because it was there, and you never know.
I also try extending words too. Sometimes it works.
Yes, if I see the extension.
I'm trying to get back on here more often. I'm really out of practice.
A big grid like this is a good way to get back in practice.
As am I.
I watch those at the flip tear through it in an hour and marvel at it.
They're amazing.
Oooh will have to tune in.
It has been years since I mentioned it but our Babble Folding at Home info is still in my bio for those who care to partake.
It is using computers for protein folding to find cures for diseases.
Any clues for either the 9 or 10 welcome. Ty
Just think, you can tell the ladies at your Friday night card game that you are folding portiens digitally to find cures for diseases!
Damn typos
Will check it out!
The http://folding.stanford.edu doesn't work - it seems that the Folding at Home project is now based on the University of Pennsylvania
*link*, "now based *at*"
Link is also at the bottom of this page.
Ty for update, Gillie. Will check it out.
since it is linked to stanford.edu won't work Crossy.
Foldingathome.org no longer works?
the link under friends of babble
Try the addy I just posted
I need to get back into it as well. Is for an amazing cause.
Give me a moment. I will go onto the main computer and try to fire it up.

Ooh - the original creator of Folding At Home is now "a general partner at venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz", according to Wikipedia
Will take nine hours for this fold.
Vijay Pande, that is
Makes for a great conversation starter at parties:
"So what do you do for hobbies?"
crossy what is the site information?
"Oh, I fold proteins."
Peri. Just go to foldingathome.org, and it will walk you through the setup.

afternoon, getting into this one late
lololol --- just tried to put in preate, as in, pre-ate something. That reminded me of a fake commercial I produced back in my radio days about a product called "Fast Food Fantastics! The ultimate in fast food! Pre-chewed, pre-digested, just drop the eco-friendly container into your toilet and flush! Fast Food Fantastics, available at your favorite grocer!"
there's an image :)
;)
89 left ... bbl.
197 left here :)
i have tried preeat and preate too because of like mother birds who eat things and then regurgitate them for their babies
I am starting to feel preill
Ok found that clue. Pe 9 same ending. Not getting it still.
I assumed it was pereo and then ending. But wont take it.
Nor will it take pero and ending even though it is in dictionary. Very frustrated with this grid.
just tried lickety and not opening for me for some reason. Any ideas?
Just got the 9-10
Crap...I forgot I still had words...
What the heck?????
You made me LOL Bea!
Busy day.
Same. Been in and out.
32 left. I'll poke around with it for a while. Need to find Judi's bucket...
That pr7/8x2 was a satisfying find.
Yep. Actually, any P's were satisfying since there are so damn many!
I heard that earlier today. =)
Ty for pe 9, pe10
Mr. Hawthorne plays a big role today.
If nothing else that gives me NBT/NBS
He does!
Pronate
Oops sorry
Hope you got the other two.
no mas...
I did not get either the 9 or 10. That is what i need but no matter what i try it doesnt take.
I am still open to clues and help with the pe 9 and 10. Need some clues.
pe and then what? just lost.
is the third letter a vowel or cons?
no matter what, not one person in the chat has clued me anything for the pe 9 or 10. do i sound annoyed?????
mkg - pe 9 & 10 refer to plants that live for many seasons. The ending is more often 'ial', but not in this case.
jac, ty. got them both from that clue. ty so much.
now i can go to sleep.
