12:54 am

morning all

1:02 am

GM, sprite, free, rebel, diz

1:03 am

hiya seain!

1:04 am

I got pneumonia vaccine on Thursday. Today, Saturday, was first day I had energy again. Friday was powered by 10 cups of coffee and a Pepsi it left me so tired.

1:04 am

we have come very close to an gerund grid a few times lately

1:04 am

indeed

1:04 am

good for you for taking it though. Getting pneumonia is even more tiring

1:05 am

exactly. Yay Vaccines. I've gotten a lot of them, beyond the Covid ones, in the last several years.

1:27 am

cooee and g'day sprite and dcseain

1:27 am

*hugs rose* hi darling, how are you holding up in the heat?

1:28 am

* hugs * sprite. * hugs * dcseain

1:28 am

hiya, rose :)

1:28 am

ugh. it's absolutely ghastly. 38C today, Monday AND Tuesday. i looove my A/C.

1:29 am

we have temps below zero atm, a nice white frost over everything

1:29 am

seain, did I see that you had moved recently? how are you and the fur babies settling in?

1:30 am

and sprite? i am hoping you had a better night.

1:31 am

sprite, pack up that frost in the freezer, and please send me some.

1:31 am

slightly. My hips were killing me yesterday, could hardly walk. But a little bit better this morning.

1:31 am

fine. another move is in the offing.

1:32 am

this is temporary. Did did find we have a new polycarbonate Driver License here in Virginia, no fonts, new colors, now clear bits.

1:32 am

my lower back was really nasty this morning. i don't think i had enough time resting my back overnight.

1:33 am

*hugs rose*

1:33 am

seain, so not a lot of unpacking happening then.

1:33 am

correct, and most of my stuff is in storage.

1:33 am

telling off the Big Guy. Hey you up there. no more sore hips for my beloved sprite.

1:34 am

:D

1:34 am

how's the Rob doing?

1:35 am

fireflies. Easy grid. Even the Qs were easy.

1:35 am

seain, so from here to where? have you found somewhere nice?

1:35 am

WTG SPRITE !!!

1:36 am

poofing with hugs. Sleep well, darling, and rest that back.

1:36 am

* hugs * sprite. i hope your day improves for you.

Hi all. May I have stats, please, for the i (eye) in the lower left corner?

NM!

Found it

7:09 am

Well, the groundhog says six more weeks of winter. But since he is only right 30% of the time, I am still rooting for an early Spring.

7:40 am

Well, looks like it starts on Tuesday. Going to have to switch to a nice Canadian whiskey after all the U.S whiskey gets pulled from the shelves. :/

8:01 am

US whiskey is crap. So is Canadian. Jameson rules.

8:17 am

oh .. you are so wrong there Molly...Some Jameson bottlings are pretty good. but Middleton Irish Whiskey is a step up

8:19 am

but really it's a matter of taste and you aren't wrong for yourself

8:25 am

oh.. I'm talking to myself again

8:25 am

easy grid today have a good day everyone

8:29 am

Oh I know there are finer and better whiskey's than Jameson. They are also more expensive, so out of my reach.

8:32 am

Middleton is insanely expensive.

8:45 am

there are a couple jameson bottlings that are getting very pricey too though.. Middleton is stupidly expensive I agree

8:54 am

Most good brands have their higher priced labels. Johnnie Walker, for example.

9:01 am

I bought an expensive Middleton a few years back for a good friend's birthday. that son of a B drank it in two weeks

9:02 am

Wow, I would have to worship it for at least two weeks before I drank it.

9:02 am

LOL exactly

9:03 am

Maybe just smell it for another week.

9:03 am

this guy is Irish and he can put them away and not get drunk.. he's amazing

9:04 am

Really, if someone was generous enough to give me a bottle that expensive I would save it for a special occasion. You have mentioned your Marion Ravenwood friend before.

9:07 am

he's really a character... in his fifties dating 27 year olds, drinks like you've never seen before and is totally normal. he's a pretty successful guy.. I couldn't live like that though

9:08 am

Oh yes you could and love every minute of it.

9:08 am

no.. not that young jeezus

9:09 am

I mean.. what would you talk about ? Taylor Swift?

9:10 am

I don't think there is a lot of talking in those kind of relationships

9:10 am

you're probably right there

9:11 am

It's the barter system. Expensive stuff for sexual favors.

9:11 am

I'd prefer to be with someone closer to my age

9:12 am

actually at this point in my life, I'm happy enough living alone too

9:12 am

The problem there is that most men don't find women over 30 attractive.

9:13 am

I've met some beautiful women in their sixties

9:14 am

but they're all a lot like me.. not really wanting to invest in a relationship again and choosing to live life how they want.

9:16 am

I think a lot of people in their 50's and 60's are fine with casual dating and nothing more. For the reasons you just stated.

yeah, no way would I date again. howdy, folks!

9:18 am

oh I'd be in for casual dating and taking trips together :D

9:20 am

***Ties fingers together

9:21 am

FWB kind of thing

for once I am stumped. are you just making up acronyms?

is this where I complain about everyone rudely ignoring me? 😜🤣

9:24 am

There is a single guy in my office who is like Mr. Lonely Hearts. Always moaning about how he's tired of going places alone. I would love to tell him if he wasn't such an asshole he might get a date, but I don't.

lol

9:24 am

sorry went to get coffee hookie sorry

9:25 am

Hookie? Hilarious.

9:25 am

you don't know FWB?

oh, I googled it

never seen it as an acronym

9:26 am

someone posted hookie a few weeks ago and I've been using it ever since :D

9:26 am

*Faints that Carla doesn't know an acronym

*faints that ruru does

9:27 am

well maybe a couple...

9:27 am

There is an old movie where a kid calls his sister Hookie. Short for hooker.

oh, what is it?

almost dialect today

well, that E is a bit of a mystery to me. only found 1.

9:46 am

It has not been a good week for air safety. First that awful crash here (body parts are still washing up on the banks of the Potomac River, ugh) and now that air medic plane crash in Philadelphia.

9:54 am

Lets pray that it is over now.

9:58 am

so awful, a little girl, just having received treatment, then her medical plane crashes!

9:59 am

cant find the bottom corner i word. Ugh. Any help welcome. It is not the greek letter.

9:59 am

meanwhile i am VERY disturbed to have heard that the proud boys are apparently leaving recruiting letters on people's lawns (??) in MY TOWN

10:00 am

Where do you live hurshy?

10:00 am

in a town where i generally never hear anyone even talking about politics in the northeast

10:01 am

except local politics and how they don't want to pay more property taxes even if that means nobody will come when their house is on fire

10:01 am

because "that's so unlikly"

10:01 am

In the northeast? In new england? I am from connecticut.

10:01 am

yes, in new england

10:02 am

Love new england.

10:07 am

hurshy, the medic jet crash is 20mins from my home, the area it crashed is very populated, all row homes .. we were near it yesterday for hockey ... the scary concern is ppl p/u jet parts for souveniors .... the air strip it left from is in a industrial area 3.5mi from the crash ... there's never been an accident that i know of like this ..

10:08 am

well i heard the plane itself was pretty old, so, it could just be, you know, not super surprising if something goes wrong with old stuff i guess :(

10:09 am

it sounds like it's pretty lucky there weren't more deaths on the ground than there were, given the populated-ness of the area

10:09 am

are you feeling traumatized by it wingding?

10:11 am

i saw a news interview with a guy who witnessed it, who is from Ukraine, so like, his instant unconscious reaction was like that it was a rocket attack, poor fellow :(

10:16 am

not too scared, but, as far as jets age, lear 55, any plane that flys, it subjected to extensive maintenance on a periodic basis .... it had to be a malfunction of something electronic or ???? the way it nose dived, i think the flaps were pitched down for some reason, on take off, they are out and down, to gain height, it would of been too early to trim them for flight, only in air 3.5m .. they need the black box to determine the cause, not pilot error

10:17 am

but they said the black box could be damaged bc of the severity of the impact

10:20 am

yes, that's true, but, at least there will be pieces .. none found yet, they take off about 160/180mph .... when it went down was likely doing 220mph ... that was a big hole in the ground, i was worried about the jet fuel spreading and burning everything ... back to cooking, just came on to get a recipe for a dry rub on pork ... ttfn

10:20 am

What is ppl p/u?

10:22 am

people pick up

10:22 am

people in the area, that would be picking up parts of the jet ... to do an extensive reconstruction of a crash site, they look at everything in its place, and the condition of the part .. and work backwards from there

10:23 am

when it happens in a field, it's no big deal, in an area like northeast phily, there's hundreds that are in walking distance of the crash site .. a friends brother was driving on the blvd when it happened

10:25 am

What kind of morbid person would want a piece of a crashed plane as a souvenir?

10:27 am

i suppose it makes them feel some kind of sense of importance

The same kind who wanted Japanese skulls during WWII?

10:27 am

to be somehow connected to a significant event

10:28 am

SKULLS? i've often heard of british soldiers taking german pistols home as souvenirs from the world wars but i hadn't heard anybody wanted skulls

10:30 am

Importance? To have a piece of a plane that people died on? That is sick.
