morning babblers
morning, sprite! *hugs*
hiya rebel! *hug* How's tricks?
going well. celebrated my daughter's birthday from 2,000 miles away this weekend, wished her a happy easter, spent time with my step-parents, and relaxed at home. also got some studying done, and now just chilling in front of the tv with ALL of the animals on my side of the bed with me right now. lol
awwww sounds terrific! Gratz on your daughter.
yeah, 28 years old! i wonder where all the time went...
ikr? Next year my boy will be 30. I mean... wth?
lol...i've got big plans for my kid's 30th...she won't know what hit her.
*giggles* Our girl is 27 now, and our boy will be 29 next month. We are at the same realm, you and I :D
nt
sorry, my fingers and my keyboard had a bit of a fight
* tiptoes in * hey spritey. hey rebel
hiya sweetie, tiptoeing through the tulips? *hugs*
no. just feeling fragile atm.
no wonder. Am holding you with huge hugs
my eyes keep leaking.
let them. Lots of emotions going on, tears will help
thank-you sweetie. i wish it was irl.
me too
i have so many things i need to get done, but there is no motivation happening. had a ghastly night.. every which way i lay hurt. you know all about that too. i took everything i was allowed and some that i wasn't. nothing helped.
Tim called yesterday. He is going to help us finding a home. And he and Lisa will come over on Mother's Day. Lol, must be the first time in ages we will celebrate Mother's day. Not really our thing but it fits all our schedules this time.
oh that is so nice to see. hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, as we say. just sit there a love it.
oh yes, love it very much. We will see if Juno and Caya are free as well then, make it a family day.
oh that would be so special.
we will see. No demands, it is up to them. But if they feel like it and can make it, it will be doubly wonderful
on the upside, lunch with middle son, Simon, and the three grandies was lovely. we were so busy laughing and cracking jokes. i love teasing my younger grandson, Braxton. I pinched a chip off his plate. and when we were saying our goodbyes i said to him "thanks for the chip" he cracked upin a fit of giggles.
awww that is so precious <3
of course it will be entirely up to how Juno is at that point in time.
yeah and Caya has a vacation planned too, so we will simply put it out there and see what gives
as i said to a family member going through a difficult time back in the day, come over stay 5 minutes, see how you feel, leave or stay, you will know at least you tried. and so will the rest of the family.
yeah that is an option. I just do not want the kids to feel pressured into coming. Giving them full freedom to say no without disappointment from our side works for us
understand. it was just another option. the way i see it, it may be a missed opportunity that will be regretted later. but then as you say, Mother's Day is no biggie with you. i would rather have them on an important event than make them feel pressured on a minor one.
every time we are together, it is an important event. For us it is about the company, not the occasion. And they have busy lives, as they should, and we do not want them to feel they have to placate the parents. Better to let them free and know that when they come, they do it wholeheartedly and because they want to be with us.
and when are Tim and Lisa going to go through the hoops of marriage? if ever? are de facto relationships recognised the same as marriages over there? they are here. it is by law now.
no plans as far as we know. Yes, same status as marriage, and they have bought the house together and got all the paperwork in order, so no worries there. If they want to marry, they will in time. I think it might happen once they start thinking about having children.
* smiling at the thought of Grandma Cassie *
have you ever thought how you want to be called in that eventuality?
*grins* Well, if it is to be, I will be over the moon. But it is up to them and the Big Guy. Tim and Lisa are very much enjoying living together at last and having time to spend with their friends. They are not ready. For Juno and Caya things are even more complicated and when they are ready, we can only pray it will work out.
Oh that is an easy one. Here, a grandma is called Oma. They can call me what they want, but I will be an Oma and will love hearing it from those little ones.
aha, of course. i had a grandma and a nanna. i wanted to be different hence granny.
An Oma is a grandmother, but the word in dutch (grootmoeder) is never used as an... what is the word... appellant?
we will be Opa and Oma, if the Big Guy sees fit.
my dad was Pop to my boys. and my mother, must to her disdain, became grandma Wilson. which is what we called our father's mother who my mother hated with every fibre of her being.
" much "
awwww that is sad. Yeah, it is a difference in language for sure. For English speaking people, Pop is usually a grandfather. Here, we have the word Pap which is for the father. Pap, pappa, papa, pa, all father. Opa for grandfather.
bet you have lots of words for kids....lol....
a couple of our terms are " rug rats " and "ankle biters " for starters
lol.... most not fit to post here, LOL. But yeah, kinderen in dutch. THough the word kids is used a lot nowadays.
opdondertjes, turven, boenders, apekoppen...
oh that's too fu5.
our former neighbour, who was a teacher all her life, called the little ones minis, and that caught on, we still do that.
Simon called his bean one, bean two, and bean three. because of their shape in the ultrasound. lol
oh roflol! We used to call Tim (before birth) Vermeulen, after a dutch football player. Vermeulen, kappen met trappen, I used to yell when he was kicking up a storm. Vermeulen, cut out the kicking, that means
giggling
Tim was a lively baby, he bruised my ribs so much and he literally kicked my plate from my belly. Caya was a lot less rough.
good grief. none of mine were that vigorous, thank heavens. although they did contort my tummy into the weirdest shapes. and i think it was the last one, Joshua, who kicked his father in the ear.
:D Good one!
not sure if I ever told you that Tim gave his father a hicky?
really?
do tell.
it was hilarious. You know the power babies have when sucking. Well, Rob was not that aware. He was giving Tim a clean diaper and was playing with him and brought his face very close to TIm's. Tim caught Rob's nose in his mouth and started sucking. Rob had to walk around with a bright red nose for a week. Literally Rudolph!
oh how hysterical. and just how did Rob explain that one to all and sundry?
yeah, that was a tough one, lololol. He blamed me, of course.
well you do have a mean right hook... just saying it like it is... roflol
*giggles*
my last word is an F7 and I just don't see it. Are there any weird ones?
I have an FU7
fo 7/44
is it a weird one or am I being babble blind?
compound word. i have never used it.
okay, thanks *looking*
it comes after your run of fo 4/7's before the fo 4/8
ah, got it, thanks hun. Fireflies.
WTG SPRITE !!!
thanks for your support today honey. hope you have a good one, xoxox
ah, it is a sailing term. Well, no wonder I didn't know it. Never went sailing.
so... I think I managed to make you smile and even laugh, so my job is done. *Hugs* and lots of love, my darling. Joy and mourning all together, let those tears flow and know I am close to you in spirit.
thank-you
so the Pope has passed
Good PR for the movie "Conclave"...which, by the way, is excellent.

I want the conclave to elect Cardinal Pizzabolla so we have Pope Pizza 😊
ha
feels like I should watch conclave now
but they wouldn't call him that, they don't use the pope's old last name
he'd pick a papal name
maybe whoever it is should pick Leo, they haven't had a Leo in a while
It's a great movie Carla. And Hurshy, people will call him that, it's all I meant. It was a joke. I should know better here.
lol, I knew you were joking
so did i, that's why i said ha

found my w. TITT
Small clue for the mi8 ?
don't have yet
It is a plural of the seven
Ok, clue for the mi7, please
🤣
A machine or tool that makes a mi5
It is a woodworking tool
Got them all ty.
I believe I have the 5 but thought that was a saw
It is a saw as well.
Should have seen it. I have a mi5 box with my tools.
It is also a Cardinals hat
which spelling of the 5? US or UK?
There are both mi5 versions but i think only the U.S version extends.
so weird, I tried that earlier and had the 7 but thought it didn't take but it was there
there = in my list
Sometimes I miss seeing the U.S versions of various words and have to circle back.
not Cardinals like the baseball team, a cardinal's hat in the church context, in case anyone is confused :D
I almost always miss the UK spelligns
well I'm now confused about what you're referring to
i got it after the clue and i looked at the box i used to cut molding with, to make the correct angles
That is well--had a visual of a cardinal playing short stop in a pointy hat.
the UK spelling, may be used for the tool thing, but is also definitely used for the hat of a catholic cardinal
Both are acceptable.
We spell them the same way here, Hokie. :)
still need 4 other Ms tho
5 m's left here
bea!
any pilots out there get the so 6/18, term used during war times
Arbour, theatre, yoghurt, doughnut, rtc, etc.
and I still need 7 4's after looking specifically for them. that's odd.
carla!
a lot of US does doughnut (incl me)
splendour (i always picture it that way when talking about the splendour of my cat Opie, the King of Everything)
dont' forget centre, crossy
Yup, there are quite a few.
anything with -our where we have -ornI read in my head as rhyming with dour instead of how we say it
I also read yoghurt as yog-hurt
I know. Back in the day, when I used to send a draft in to an editor, they always made me "americanize" the text, or they would not even look at it.
another writer here said that. or maybe it was you. it's been a few years.
I was reading a british book series once and didn't realize it and they kept talking about a kerb and I was like WTH is this?
I am sure quite a few have run into the same issue.
I'm actually surprised the reacher books are written by a brit, they seem pretty american to me.
But, Since I am not Stephen King, I said yes, sir.
🤣
Like I say, U.S editirs fore americanization.
Force
LOL! We started season 3 of Reacher last night.
have you read any of the books, bea?
No.
I have read a lot of them, and I made the mistake of rereading the S2 one before that and it ruined the show because they changed so many things.
We got a new television Saturday and it has been a nightmare.
There are quite a few movies these days that I refuse to watch because I do not want it to destroy my reading experience if an amazing novel. Only rarely does it go the ither way.
One example is Forrest Gump--great movie, but a terrible book.
oh no, what brand, bea?
Bet it us an RCA
books are almost always better than movie/tv. I have not read Forrest Gump though.
We used to get more returns on RCA than all others combined.
tv ruined the stephen king books
I refuse to watch the movie.
oh, I will say I prefer watching stephen king than reading
You cannot cram eight books into one two hour movie.
the stand was what got me reading him
hello, all. would anyone happen to have a clue for the or5, please? it's eluding me at the moment.
it's a bay window
I am a day one King reader. Read Carrie for the first time in 1975.
I don't think I was reading until at least 1976. King would've been a tough read. 😜
I was 11 years old. :)
thank you, carla! got it!
sass, kinda reminds me of the bird that's a baltimore baseball team if you remove a letter and jumble up the last 2.

Bzz, I too fight with tech. I find the best way to start is to "cast" programs from your smart ohone to the T,V. Bests trying to fight with this remotes with a hundred buttons. :)

They will most likely take blood samples at same time.
Prostate?
dunno, it runs in the family, and i;m still active and my #'s up double what they s/b
yes
Most of these end up being benign, but it is best to be oroactive and check.
agreed, i don't mind the checking ... i'm very fortunate,,, i'm a healthy early '70s and drug free ...
now that i read that, what i wrote, i'm on no medications to correct myself
My firsr was caught because my beloved nagged me into a dr. Appointment. :)
mine doesn't have to bug me, medicate covers it, and too many in my circle have died already ... at least i'm don't w/ the colonostopy .. they never found a thing after 3
medicate (sorry)
medicare ... fingers are alittle stiff at times

I swear that one time I pooped out a marble I swallowed when I was four years old. :)

Our lab once ate and entire leash--including the metal snap fastener.
You have not lived until you have had to pull that out of a dogs butt.
labs eat the dumbest stuff ... you are lucky it survived that meal
Yes, it came out in five pieces.

Go ahead. Do your thing.
my thing is to avoid chat wise choice
Chog is for everyone.
at all costs
You do you.
When I first started playing this game, many moons ago, I thought it was a word game for dog lovers because chat was about dogs all the time. It seems to be highly attractive to "pet people".
Amen!
abt dogs, usually i hear about cats
We just lost our last kitty to kidney failure. :(
sorry to hear that ... it's like losing a child
Pet people and book oeople to be sure.
Sorry bout the typos. My hand shakes niw and again.
lucky to not have that problem, just stiffness sometimes
I spent my orime working years outside in all the elements, so now I and paying for it--that and numerous broken bones in my youth.
