Doogle, your obsession just gave me another t7/28
Me too... and terrain
Glad to have been of assistance, BrotherCaine!
Ah, yes. Doogle: muffet flashback. Your icon looks like a shrunken giraffe head.
Kids off to school, groceries in the fridge... I have deserved a babble hour before getting to work ;)
I am proud to be a purveyor of the very finest in shrunken giraffe heads. Buy now.
Ow, I want one! Can I put in my boss's coffee cup?
Doogle, congrats on your engagement.
Thanks, Bro'. I'm a lucky guy. :)
*it (somewhere in my last post)
All the best and good luck to both of you, Doogle!
Okay. Right. What on earth is wrong with 'bitrate"???
Thanks, Sprite. It's funny to actually be getting married (again) - I play so many weddings as a musician that I'm a little jaded on the whole process.
two words?
Wipe clean that brain and enjoy your marriage as if it were the very first time you ever experienced such an event :D
Could be it, BrotherCaine, wouldn't be the first time the dutch writes something as one word, while it is 2 in english.
Oh. 2 of the T7/40s are the same word. Now for that third...
ooh, interesting t6/18 sorta like lenticular.
Does anyone have a hint on that 3rd t7/40?
Oh, and there it is. Along with the cute little h6/27 it contains.
for t7/40, acting, musical shows..
Doogle - is that a hint for the 3rd t7/40? I have the 2 with the alternate spellings.
Yes, Hugabugs, it is. It's an anagram of the two you've already got, and contains the H6/27 as well.
thank you! :o) - got it
Speaking of anagrams, have any of you ever spent time at the Internet Anagram Server? Quite fun. Cleverly, its other name, "I, rearrangement servant" is an anagram of Internet Anagram Server. Check it out at http://www.wordsmith.org/anagram/ .
Do we know what the 4th 8-word is? I have d8/60 h8/55 w8/70
Okay. Stuck at 134 for the evening. G'night all!
G'nite Doogle
Sleep well! Argh... Sprite = ripest ;)
AND priest!
Sprite - are you the ripest priest?
Yup, the one with the stripe!
lol
Doogle congrats....have you come uo with baggo's new song yet. ??
Honestly, could we have one puzzle without te 4/4 in it? And why must errat be at the bottom and um at the top?
I just hate it I cannot make withdrawn.
Darn, I am sorry, guess I spilled two words saying I couldn't make another one. I am really stupid today.
I loved it..... I already had them... It is a bit of a pun because i think most of us are not withdrwn at all... to err is human
I really think that if one dresses to fight, he is wearing a warrobe.
you are being very funny tonight
Frustrated is the word ;)
sprite do you have the d8 or h8 words and if so can you give me a clue....
I don't have them yet, I am having one of my very blonde days. Only have the Ws.
Herbert and Norbert are both here, and I like neither of them.
I perfer ben and Jerry's myself not in puzzle but in freezer
So do I! With chocolat chips :)
Can't sleep. :( The D8 D6s again.
Sigh. No, that's not right. The D8 is one who D6s.

Sleep well, Blaze!

I've got u4/6 and u6/24. Anyone found the 3rd?
Another U4/6
Very Hamlet, actually.
Indeed! Thanks.
R8/40 Don't think that has been posted yet, has it?
I have 6 T7s so far. Ta, Te, Th x 3 and Tr.
There's also a very pleasing T6/36.
Tell us more about this T6/36, Doogle :)
Scottish origin. T5/22 - to twist. T6/36 - twisted.
Thanks!!!
Babble is the cause of many missed hours.......little time today and only at 40
treebeard is there
So is ring w6/36
and there's too many words in Sindarin in there ... how sad is it that I notice most of them before English ones? *facepalm*
Ferrari! You just sent me off looking for Ents but I see what you mean now. Am also reading elven and fairy language. LOL.
There was a Brit called Ray in here earlier looking for 'bonce' & 'biro'. (I wonder if he's the Ray I know from another forum? I know he reads the Daily Mail.) Blaze didn't know what 'biro' was and I don't think anyone explained. Blaze, if you're still around, it's a type of ball-point pen.
hi jacula, another forum? you can't play this anywhere can you, my life would grind to a complete halt and house and husband would fall down around my ears!
It's a chat forum, Ferrari. Ray and I often used to talk about words there. Babble's not there though, unless you count what the drunken ones do late at night. LOL.
How you doing? Got that 9/90 yet? I have, thanks to the scientific clue.
morning everyone, this is toooo addictive, I am supposed to be writing up and assignment!
Morning Ginger. There's a little program you can download from the net that locks you out of 'unworkrelated' sites for a set time. I'll see if I can find the URL for you.
LOL thanks Jaculka... I need it!!!!
thank goodness for that
sorry, my typing is suffering, I just renamed you!
Don't worry about it Ginger - I was 'Jacule' yesterday!
can I have a start letter for the 9 please?
wi9/90. It's an extension of the wi8/70, which is an extension of the wi6/36, which is an extension of the wi4/10.
That will give me a bit to look for, thanks Jacula!
Morning folks :) Jac, that was inspired - I 've just signed and got all those wis straight off from your clue tyvm
Morning Anj. How you feeling today? You look a little cocky! LOL.

Your're a pistol, baggo. What a card, as my mother would have said. Anj, you're so back to nature. Not bad, not bad at all.
ea5/10 eb4/6 ee5/10 ei6/27 er5/14 er6/18 et4/4
struggling with these two ...he 6 27 and wa 7 40 List of E's are as follows: ea5/10 eb4/6 ee5/10 ei6/27 er5/14 er6/18 et4/4

That might be the funniest thing EVER! LOL!!!
"someone (or thing) that wi 6/26's" make that 6/36
Hooray! I'm done! Thanks for the help everyone!
I am missing one T6/18, grr.
Any clues for re5/10? (I have the charging along again one and the doing up your shoe again ones.)
...the NSA are probably storming the Google building as we type. Well, those that voted Republican probably are anyway lol
re5/10: An anatomical mesh or network, as of veins, arteries, or nerves. It's like the shoe thing, only with a different final vowel.
plurple, don't you mean the no6/18? one of a family of granular intrusive rocks. Could be a sloppy way of saying the something is wrong ;)
Auf wiedersehen y'all - gotta go - I'm finishing with 143/2128 - don't wanna be up until past 2:00am like I was on Sunday night/ Monday morning...
Minski, that sounds like the def for wi 7/52 as well, is wi 8/70 in the same genre?
nope. the other 6/36.
Jacula, the re/5 you are missing is similiar to doing up your shoes again but with a different last letter
Figures it's a no6. yeah i saw the mixup earlier in the log and i guess i didnt see the final say
Plurple, the he6/27 builds on your 2nd he4/7 meaning in this place. Just drop a two letter word on the end he8/55 builds on your he5/16...makes it more so :)
Thanks, ill try them once im done with the B's =)
Uh on, Minski ... I think I'm missing a wi, I didn't realize! Grrr .... Now MORE work ....
There are *4* Re5/10s, right? I've got the one about having shown a movie again, anatomical, and knotted again... but what's the 4th?
50 more to go... got class in less than 2 hours...
Thanks Periwinkle. Got it. Still got ra7/36 to find, ro4/6??? and an 'i' (but don't have a clue of its value). Got ir4/4, ir5/10 & ir6/18.
Doogle, you want the one meaning 'old style'
Doogle it's >>>>>spective
Doogle, think of the '80s music trend, or the popularity of mid-century modern furniture
Oh, also got it7/28.
Got the wi 8/70 ... I needed a break from the screen. I was getting all confused. Thanks for the help!
Jacula, ra7/36 is served on toast.
Hello again, people! I'm back for more fun... 59 words to go...

Jera, that was never 9 hours!
third t7 is an anagram of the others... it's a t5 with an extra word on the end
Can't find wr 5/16. Help please!!
wr 5/16 something you do with a pen
There are some many t7's: ta7/32 te7/28 th7/40 x3 tr7/28
two wr 5/16's: one is what Shakespeare did, the other is more dryly humerous
sorry i meant third th7
Thanks JessMom. Helps to know what I'm looking for.:-) sfneil - ra7 is served on toast? All I can think of right now is raspberry jam. LOL.
be6/24 anyone and not the wife shirt one

Got it! Diolch yn fawr!

I was saying thank you very much to fneil then. (In Welsh.)

Thought you were talking about us ladies then, Brandy Jack! Realise you mean the icons now.:-)
Anj's in particular. I mean, Foghorn Leghorn? The original loudmouthed schnook?
can someone plz help me im new and my teacher recormendid it to me and we have to do this for homework
Jacula, now you've lost me. "Diolch yn fawr" and "Croeso" are pretty much the extent of my Welsh!
'Wales forever!' sfneil.
XOx first go to the babble rules and then start finding words
Oh, and 'sut mae' and 'shw mae' mean 'How are you?'
Oh, but of course!
What kind of sadist would assign this as homework?
What do all these signs mean? wr 7 52?? i understand the rules just but I am a very confused person here!
I should at least have recognized "Gymru "!
Brandyjack, can you still see him? I'm back on Daffy at the mo
Foghorn Leghorn. That's the fella! I've been trying to think of his blinkin' name all day. Thanks Jack.
xox lozzi, You have to pay to get the answers
wr first two letters of the word 7 letters long and the 52 is the score for the word
wr7/52 means the word starts with 'wr' is 7 letters long and is worth 52 points.
xox Plurple is just kidding you.... do not listen
xox_lozzi_xox, it's the first letter (or two), number of letters, and point value of the word.
Answers are free after midnight central standard time. No one gets them before that.
o k thanks Jacula
Daffy, Anj? I see a star.
Off to look for my last word - that elusive ro4/6.
Hahaha Heeheehee Hohoho!
Are you serious Jacula What do people wear over pajamas? or after a shower?
Jac, i've been thru' about 4 icons since then. We've had a bit of fancy dress going on today lol.
At this time of night, you should be wearing it...........
Before I retire for the night,I hope everyone noticed tbear in it's prominent position in the middle of the puzzle.....does it mean Dr God was thinking of me...
of course that is what it must mean
Brandyjack, it's 4:09pm here!
At least I never have to bear the infamy of having my name in lights.....
Got that one BrandyJack. Don't tell me I'm looking for another ro4/6 when one doesn't exist?:-(
Now I can rest easy.....someones thinking of me...lol Nite all....happy babbling
But Jacula is in Darkness, after midnight her time too...
Only one ro4/6
It''s 9 mins past midnight here.
...those could be poorly chosen words Brandyjack lol
tbear I cried when it wouldn't accept it.
Jac, look at my list........ I posted it for you to see after all..........
Told you, I'm not called 'Jacula' for nothing. LOL.
I'm just doing that Jack.
Me too,sfneil....
Bear, you will have to write to the Grammatical Association or something and get yourself added lol
any clues for he6/27, I have the aural one
A bear is for life, not just for Christmas
mtnjock, winter's coming, gonna need one of these real soon..
Jacula, you have the housecoat?
I don't think I could take having the game taunt me all day with a word I like so much and it just won't accept.
thx brandy, I have that one as well, there are 3, ...
I do, mtnJock. I'm going to check Jack's list to see where I went wrong.
mtnjock he6/27: "At, or by reason of, this" -- it's an he4/7 with another word tacked on
I had to work all day, then come home and cook supper. Only have two of them h6's. might get some more.
Ya, t7/40 with the leading letter lopped off...
thanks sfneil....
no worries brandyjack. I'm all done, just hanging around for a bit to see if I can help... paying back some babble karma!
Brandyjack-care to clarify. I just assumed since you had a program that gave stats it gave the full answers, too. Or you prefer to play on your own.
That's a cool way of saying brain for hire sfneil :)
need clue for co 6 word pleazzze
You're one to talk, Anj! You've been so much help to me.
any clue(s) for the ta7/32?
There is a file on my hard drive with every word in it. But it's like chasing women. The pursuit is heavenly. But once you've got that ring on your finger, you wonder just why in blazes you did that anyway?
Blaze, it's a carrion crow, a scottish word I believe. Also sounds like the ubiquitous trouser presses you get in hotels lol
is there an er6 27?I can't seem to find that one...my last e though
ta7/32, one could say you are little slower is all...
Hmmm... 0kay
Phew. Finally done. This one took some work! Now for the midday nap I need from having been up Babbling past 5 a.m.! G'day, all!
thanks brandyjack - and I love your chasing women comment!
Hi Pav3 - there's en ei6/27 - means an option
Only one er6 and it's an 18.
Pav yes there is def...Roving, especially in search of adventure
37 more to go and i'm pooped.
thanks brandy jack now on to the other 77 words
Nope, can't find that last word. It's an re5. Got six of 'em: the anatomical netword, the little genetic unit that can be recombined, the medieval instrument, hared along again and to do up the shoes again.
I have 83 to go Blaze - it's going to be a long night! Although now I'm home maybe I can seasrcn in an organized way
Thanks anj and brandyjack..been looking for an er6 27, which looked like what I wrote down on my list to find ...now I can't write.....time for new glasses
reb5 rec5 rec5
re 5 that i have is like the shoe one but change the end vowel.
sorry ignore me
Blaze & plurple. Got those. God knows what the one I'm looking for is.:-(
what about the slang for "old stuff look"
Jacula, I think your missing re5 is an re5/10. Think '80s music or '50s furniture.
Jac, it sounds like you're missing re5/10 meaning 'old style' as in r...-feel or maybe r....active :)
Unless I see the light soon (Jack was right about me being in darkness.LOL) I'm going to have to give up. I'm pooped - been working in the garden a lot of the day.
anyone got a clue for the Te7 please
never mind the crack about 80's music, but the re... 50's furniture is on the mark. *0's music is just too advanced for us beach bums....
Jacula just be "tro" to yourself
Mu, if you have the te4/4 and linked te6/18, the te7 just drops an 'i' in near the end
That's the one, sfneil! Thanks. Could have sworn I'd already put that in. I AM a silly moo.
te7: even more weepy-eyed
y/w Pav3 - well all get that mythical word syndrome every now and then lol
hooray, Jacula!
Now lets see the puzzle tree dance...?? :P
I would dance but my back's killing me. I'll just jiggle about a bit.:-)) Thanks for the help everyone.
154 words 4.84 2169 ok im stopping... have a bunch of T's left but oh well See ya guys.
Dr_God said he was working on some 'Solitaire' style fireworks for when we finish the puzzle. Wonder how he's getting on with that?
are there 2 REC 5s?
thanks to all for the T7 clues they did the trick
Minski - yes.
Yes, there are 2 rec/5's.
Night Plurple.
Night to you but class for me! =) bye
My mythical word of the day has been 'terrier'. But it's not quite in there.
Time for me to roost too. 'nite all & good Babbling. :)
having trouble finding the M word.
Night plurple and Anj!
Night.
I also convinced myself there would be a word ending in 'tion'.
...PS. i've been itching to type 'entertainment' Jac lol
Night Anj. (Noswaith dda.)
M word def... A genus of fungi of the family Mu****, several species of which are pathogenic to humans.
For the m5, nearest I can think of is snot brigade.......... Just kind of drizzles down the left side....
Cor, Blaze. You don't half give good clues.;-)
great clue brandjack - heeheehee
Hmmm. I guess it's not a member of the slime mold family, but could have fooled me...
I can't figure out the Di5...
Or the Ri5, apparently.
nite anj! thanks for your help...
is the 2nd letter of the M word U?
Terrier is bound to work sooner or later if I keep on using, though...lol
Mule I just found the di 5 word in the websters.... it means "a Muslim council of state"

Di5/18. Think of a type of bed, then replace the middle letter.
Minski - yes.
minski YES..... think of the stuff you cough up when you have a cold and change the ending
Minski, yes: Mu5/18
I thought that was a couch?
Mule - you and me both with the terrier then? LOL.
I still think 'bonce' and 'biro' should be allowed.
Jack - it's also a type of bed here in UK.
I was really hoping there was such a thing as an "eartire"!
Got the Di finally. Thanks, everybody....c'mon terrier!
Also look at what I said to Blaze at 6:43.
Couch or bed without ends.
Eartire? Isn't that someone who talks too much?
Any clues for the Ri5?
Ha! I was picturing a car with ear-shaped tires!
Get's very surreal on here, doesn't it? Love it!
This grid is making me want to put on my warrobe!
Ri5 = cheerful, mirthful
Don't ask why I put an extraneous apostrophe in gets. I must be tired because I'm usually the first person to laugh at 'greengrocers' apostrophes.:-(
Really Infantile insect.
Ri5 def is Cheerful; mirthful, but I think of a noisy disturbance by a bunch of 9 foot club wielding bearskin wearing fools.
Don't worry Jacula. I almost posted "you're" for "your" a while back. And I'm a stickler, too.
'Babble players' obsessed with punctuation, whatever next ??
I did put a 'plus' sign after 'Infantile' and before 'insect' but it didn't show up. It was meant to be a clue for Mule.
ri5 LOOKS like it would rhyme with the title of a 1956 Elizabeth Taylor/Rock Hudson/James Dean flic, but it doesnt.
Got it...loved all the clues!!!
er, "doesn't"
Does anyone else have to restrain themselves from correcting spelling or grammatical errors on posters in shops?
Right, this weary vampire is flying off for the night. 'See' you all tomorrow folks (if the dentist hasn't ripped my fangs out).
I actually carry a red Sharpie around for corrective purposes.
G'night, Jacula!
Needs clues or directions for the H 5 words only have one of three words
Favorite sign in a restaurant window, with no puncuation at all: "Shrimp and Lobster Dancing Nightly"
two of the h5's differ only in the last letter. the other is a wading bird.
Well, that takes care of the h5's, thanks...
oh and, blaze, when I say "differ only in the last letter"... well, you actually have to use two different instances of the penultimate letter to get the two words in the grid
this is hard work, need some Earl Grey...........
Before I go off completely, thought I'd post this as it might be of interest to fellow Babblers. Check out this site: http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabblersanonymous
sfneil I got the h5's thanks to your clue now I realize I need an h6 and 2 h 4's back to the grind (grid)
Any help with tr7/28 wa7/ 40 would be greatly appreciated...
What is it? A counselling group to wean us from our addiction?
Something like that. It's only got about 5 of in there so far. Try it. It's good.
h6 is an h4/7 with another word tacked on
Meant '5 of us'.
tr 7/28 is someone who tr5/10s
Really going now. Do try out the group.
wa7/40 describes someone with even more wa4/7s
Thanks, Jacula! Looks interesting!
Got the H 6
Going to bed. Goodnight everyone.
Goodnight, Haz1558.
Might I have a clue for the or 4 word thanks
blaze, I don't know (and can't find online) a definition for the or4. If you take the first word of the latin phrase "pray for us" and double the middle letter, you'll have it.
It's well past the witching hour again, and I only have half of the letters, but its goodnight from me.
or you could take spanish word for gold, again double the middle letter, and change the final vowel
Goodnight, ExWren!
or4 - Sounds like a dance at a Romanian wedding - with a silent h
little help on the u's please, i've got un6/24, what are the other two?
Could someone help me with the M? I'm sure I'll feel stupid since I just spent 20 minutes looking for ir4...
Hi Jera - what a cow says (greek spelling) plus one of your co4s minus the last letter
kristin, both are un4/6s. One sounds like "not exist", the other's definition is "o unusual as to be surprising; uncanny." But it sort of reminds me of "not a company".
er, "so unusual..."
Well, at least I don't feel stupid for not knowing that! Thanks, crb... you always give such clever, entertaining clues!
I'm glad you got it - I don't have the ir4 yet so I'll probably be calling on you when I get to the i section!
hi all... there's no way i wil finish tonight!
Does anyone have the er 5/14? Clues please? CBR - the IR 4 is something you do to your clothes
er5/14 - What you do to a building or monument..
thanks jax - I'm almost to the i's so you just saved me some time!
Duh - thanks torgone. I kept looking for that but kept missing it.

Hope that helps. The order in which the list comes often helps with working out the 3rd letters.
Brilliant, Jacula. Thank you!
I'm out of my box for a short while and will give clues where I can.
My last r is the 5/18 -- I have a feeling it's simple but I just can't see it, even with your wonderful list.
Wow, Jacula, thank you so much for the list.
Hey Jacula - how about the he's?
It's a pear-shaped 2 or 3-stringed Medieval musical instrument. Failing that, it's a Hebrew name meaning 'Isaac's wife' - often shortened to 'Becky' or 'Becca' these days.
melissamay, it's a pear-shaped medieval musical instrument. it might remind you of who lived at Sunnybrook Farms!
Found it! Thanks, Jac, really.
Thanks too, sfneil -- that was a great clue.
The 'he's': ears the thumpy thing in our chests a shrub or the goddess of youth & Spring would be sucessor or king, or queen nice-smelling cooking ingredient David Bowie's song (but singular) 'We Can Be H*****'
I'm in the last of my words, the sea of T's. I'm having a hard time with the three 6/18's. I have one, the mountainous region of the moon. Clues for the others would be very appreciated!
my pleasure, melissamay. you're not from the South, by any chance? Your name is very melodious and reminds me of my relatives' names.
Speaking of things from space, my son was most annoyed that the orrt clouds were not allowed by the grid.
thanks Jacula - I was just looking for the order of the words with counts but you have gotten mne down to one - the shrub one
Good catch, sfneil! I've got a grandma from the US southwest and that's her nickname for me. My actual middle name is different but I love that she calls me that so I use it a lot.
'The goddess of youth, and the daughter of Zeus and Hera. ' Failing that, look up Veronica.
And why is "umno" not accepted? I hear that all the time.
Thanks Jacula - I screwed up - got that one but am still short two - I'll figure it out!
Melissamay - just found your message of 8:32 and read it as 'thanks to your wonderful lust'. EEK! not had enough sleep.
I have an aunt named "Metta Mae", and her mother's name (my gradmother) was "May Belle".
sfneil - they sound lke those wonderful old steamships (the ones with the rollers).
Yes, Jacula they are/were both very "grandes dames" southern belles.
My other half's one grandmother was named May. My Mum's called 'June'. Guess what month each was born in?
Maybelle is a wonderful old Southern name. I hadn't heard Metta before, but it's lovely. And Jac, that's funny! I've had more than a few sleepy misreads here myself.
I like my great grandma's name - it was Lily Elizabeth Jinks. We had this family rhyme... Lily Elizabeth Jinks went up to meet the Sphinx, she.... Unfortunately, can't remember the rest.
"May/Mae" and "June" are (or at least were) very popular names in the south, where those months are celebrated because of the bounty of the harvest.
And what about 'April', which is what my name should have been?
I should have been an April too
Aries or Taurus, CBR?
on the cusp - april 19th
Jacula, something about "high jinx", maybe?
How about you?
Ditto. 22nd April.
Makes us both doubly stubborn! LOL.
You ain't just whistlin' Dixie - drives my water sign husband crazy
Oh well, at least we both managed to avoid Hitler's birthday.
I guess that means my name should have been May or Mae as I was born May 6th. Full Taurus with full taurusocity.
barely!
I had a long-term love affair with a water sign (a crab) and, no, can't say my stubborness drove him mad 'cos he was more stubborn. I was married to an Aries for over 20 years... I'm now with a Capricorn and, boy, do we annoy the hell out of each other at times but we also laugh a lot.
finally done and just in time. Can I help anyone before I leave? You guys/ladies always help me so much.
Hi Jax - how about clues for be6's?
Still looking for 2 te 6/18s. I have one, the mountainous region of the moon. Appreciate the help!
Taurusocity. Oh yes! That's a really good word, nearly as good as Popacatapetl. I must remember that one.
(Mind you, it does make me think of sausages! LOL.)
Most of my serious relationships have been with Saggitarius (2 with the exact same birthday if you can believe it) but one with a Groundhog Day birthday (Aquarius?)
CBR- both be 6's are extensions of be 4's. One is to carry something and one is to hit something, or make scrambled eggs with
Ah yes. The first guy I ever remember breaking my heart over was an Aquarian (Feb. 8th birthdate). I also had a pretty steamy 'affair' (though I knew it would never last) with a Saggi.
I could have sworn I had put those in already - I think the elves come and erase words when I'm not paying attention! THanks much
melissmay, your other te6 is what people do when they're standing on top of a fence, or the first half of an old children's playground toy which may not be allowed anymore for safety reasons.
The other 2 te 6/18's are the same except the vowel that is second from the end. They both mean a metal ring on a harness, but they make me think of another word for an attic or a ratlike pet that some people have
CBR - that happened to me earlier with an re5 word.
I do that all the time. I ALWAYS miss the easy ones. PS I'm an aquarius married to a sagg, not always fun.
Has everyone got all the clues they asked for so far?
Thanks much, Jax!
yw MelissaMay
Jax - I'm a Taurus with an Aquarian rising. My latest (and hopefully last and lasting) other half is a Capricorn with an Aquarian rising. It means we're both a bit quirky, but, hopefully, will understand each other enough to get along for the rest of...
I'm glad I'm not alone in the disappearing word department!
I don't know exactly what our signs mean. But I think I am steady and boring and he is more flighty, makes things interesting but annoying sometimes too for both of us.
CBR- sometimes I think when I'm hot and typing fast I don't wait for things to enter when I thougth they had.
How about a clue for the ra7 - I'm sure it;s another I should have
Add a 3 letter word to the ra 4/4 right before it. The 3 letter word is past tense for something a dog might do to you
Welsh ra7/36
Another way of describing cheese on toast, in a Welsh way.
cbr1965, ra7 is a welsh dish made of cheese and beer and served on toast. It's often called by an animal name, but it has no meat.
LOL - I'm soooo American.
got it - I actually know of that Welsh treat
'Not very common small part'
May I have help with the th 5/20 as well? I'm 3 words away from finishing and think I've babbled my poor brain out of commission.
th5/20 is a moon of jupiter
a monitary unit of Botswana.
A nymph, daughter of the river god Asopus. Also 4th from Jupiter.
If you got the he 4/9 (the shrub) then all you have to do is add a letter before it.
Aieee, I'm composing a letter of apology to my astronomy prof. this minute. Thanks everyone.
melissamay what else do you need?
Just wondering whether to change my icon to one of me with green hair. Might come out kinda long & thin though, given the pixel restriction.
Looks like a another te5 and another 6/18. I have the metal rings and the moony one for the 6s. As for the 5, I'll have to hunt. I have T fatigue!
I'm finally heading to the evil t's - is there a word count farther down the chat log?
Um... dare I ask about the green hair? ;)
Ta 6 - ,Ta4x2,Ta5x2,Ta6x1,Ta7x1 Te 13 - ,Te4x2,Te5x4,Te6x6,Te7x1 Th 12 - ,Th4x3,Th5x5,Th6x1,Th7x3 Ti 3 - ,Ti4x3 Tr 7 - ,Tr4x3,Tr5x3,Tr7x1 Tw 3 - ,Tw4x2,Tw5x1
Thanks Brandyjack - you always show up in the nick of time!
CBR - Jack's just given you the t count or you can look back on my long posts to get them in the order they come on a completed list.
Hang on, sfneil, I may not be right about what I'm missing -- I'm getting lost. I'll post again soon.
A wig, sfneil. LOL.
I remembered you posted but couldn't remember which letters - thanks!
Okay, Jacula... just gave me a flashback to the early '70s and my own hair, so I was wondering...
need help with the HE8
Ok, I am missing a te6/18 occuring between the two te 5/10s. I am also missing a te5/10 occuring right before the first th7/40. And that's the last two I need! Holy smokes, I don't think I'll ever be able to spell with Ts again. Thanks for any help!
Minski, he5/16 three letters
Minski, the first part of the H8 is the beating organ in your chest. Think that if you add meat to your stew, you are making it h------.
Melissamay - any help for the th7
Melissamay - your te - 'Cylindrical but usually slightly tapering at both ends, circular in cross section, and smooth-surfaced.'
cbr, there are 2 -- the american and brit spelling of the place you go to see a play or a movie.
melissamay your missing te6 is identical to one you have, with a different penultimate vowel
Thanks Melissamay. I shouldn't have missed that *{blushes}*
Put a 'te'in front of one of your re4/4's.
thanks mm!
Oh, and cbr, there's a third as well -- I'll try to think of a clue, sorry! It's an anagram of the other two.
plus another e though, right?
That damned th7 caught me out, too. I got the English spelling but it took my other half (who is dyslexic) to spot the American speling of it.
nevermind. i'm wrong
(That remark was not meant to be offensive to either dyslexics or Americans, btw.)
th7/40 - at that place
melissamay your missing te5 means "four" in greek... think of polygons
Thanks much, everyone! I'm working on it, but at least I have some guidance now!
Thanks torgone!
alucaJ - nekat esneffo oN
help with the OR5 & 7 please
Jacula: so funny! Have you read the latest (real) reports from scientists claiming that dyslexia does nto exsit?
The or's - What a planet has and what it does.
Minski - You're probably circling all around it.
minsk or5 goes around something (like the sun), or7 one who goes around
Yes, sfneil, I have. But it DOES exist, as does number blindness, the techincal nam for which I can't recall right now.
Minksi - OR you may have found BITs of it?
Do you like my green pic, btw?
opps, I can't finish this one tonight. I hear thunder. And I had just gotten started.... See you guys on another night....
Oh yes, Jacula, I'm convinced it DOES exist. One of my oldest and dearest (and smartest) friends has it.
Wow, done! sfneil, I can't believe I missed that greek. I could have sworn I had it already! And thanks to to Jacula for that te6 definition. Tricky, tricky. Thanks again for being so patient and helpful.
Could someone help me with my fondest wish to finsh the expletive deleted A's? ar6/18 is not happening for me...
Very pretty, Jacula. It's you.
fneil - I'm told with the word thing they all just mix themselves up when you look at them. With the number thing, which I'm convinced I have, you can be told how to work things out and may even do it, but 5 min later that info won't still be in your brain.
Oh, Jacula... your avatar! I'm speechless (literally, without words!)
Jacula, I'm a bit the same way... I'm fascinated by numbers, but cannot retain anything I learn about them.
Gorgeous, ain't she, fneil? At least that's what my other half's work colleague said of that pic. Wouldn't mind, but he was after both me and my mate (who's with me in another pic he was shown) and we're both 48 and the 'colleague' is only in his 20s. Still, nice to be apppreciated, whatever age they are. ROFLOL.
Can't find my last word. A te6/18 right next to the two te6/18s that are a vowel apart.
Jera, your ar6 is an informal adjective. A painter might brag that she is ar____ than you are.
THanks sfneil
BrotherCaine - another name for a seesaw
Add another vowel to the te 5/10 above.
add another vowel to one of you te5
BrotherCaine I think you might be looking for a latinate plural of the places on the moon
CBR, already have that one thanks. I need the one below earth alphabetically.
BrotherCaine - the pl. of your t5/10 perhaps?
ty melissamae... that only took me 14 hours to figure out, LOL!
You're welcome, Jera! The Ts were particularly like that for me :)
How about some help with di6/21
Jera - a person who is trying to lose weight.
Jera, if you were trying to lose weight, you'd be one of these.
Probably half the women in the country are one of these - it is similar to one of your di4
what's this about a WR9?
A person who is careful with their di4/6
Minski, you're welcome!
it's there - for the first time, that particular word was one of the first five I found! Never happens
sfneil, thanks, that's probably it. I'm still working on it.
It's wi9/90 Minski
Thanks... that was a forehead-smacker! This has certianly been an "add er" puzzle!
Ah yes, wr9. chemical compound, if I remember correctly is BACo(3). It's a barium compound (a clay) used in pottery and in cleaning sewerage. Oh, I was just longing for someone to ask that one!
Now how about the it7? Dunno the value, but it's the only one.
I found it just by playing. I didn't think it was a word.
I had a lot of those, Minski!
Jera - think something that repeats is an It___
Oh bugger! I was gonna have fun playing on that one. But you've gone an got it. LOL.
Poor guy's gonna go off like I did and look for 'iterate' or 'reiterate' and not find it. You lot are so CRUEL!
it7/28 Jera.
at least I put it in the proper form !
Can't make it fit... how many r's? I thought one, but that doesn't exist... 2 r's fir but is invalid. Grrr!
Jacula - time for your clue!
CBR - the 'oh bugger' post of mine was referring to the ce=hemical compound.
Thanks CBR! finished. Now I can have my live back for two hours.
oops, life back
Okay, Jacula... help me out... I'm doing exactly what you thought I would!!
IT might make you RANT if you tried to find this and didn't put the righ vowel in.
or even the *right vowel.
Sure that can be two hours saved for Veronica Mars
Thanks Jacula!
CBR - you did find that one, didn't you?
ty, ty, ty!!!
wait - which one>? I'm stil down 30
Minski's got it, but have you Jera? Oh yes, I see you have.:-)))))))))))
nice pic Jac!
Okay, on with the big boys... ra7, please?
The it7/28.
Yes, Jacula... the ty, ty, ty was for you!
Yes - I've now moved on to the th's - they are awful!
ra7 is a Welsh meal of cheese and beer, served on toast.
ra7, Jera. as we've said is a Welsh recipe. Cheese and beer on toast. Or 'a not very often found small piece'.
well, no welsh terriers, but there's welsh ra7!
Oh don't start on that blooming terrier word again - it's NOT THERE! AARGH! Lol.
gee... 9 to go and my eyes are crossing
I should have gotten that from my BUgs BUnny cartoons, LOL! Thanks again!
Still missing RE8 TA7 TR7 WA7 TH7 - not the Broadway ones Please help.
Cath - your eyes may well have been crossing if you'd seen us speaking Welsh on here earlier.
thank goodness i didn't witness that! lol
jacula.. isn't it well past your bedtime? lol... it's almost getting past mine!
Well, Cath, I could recreate it for you?
jacula... it would finish me off truly if you did!
Yes, re bedtime, it is. I went up, but had eaten evening meal far too late and so had heartburn, plus a bad back from too much gardening earlier.
ahh.... i know that feeling.... i'll have a beer for you...lol
Bore da. Shw mae? Da iawn, diolch. A chi? Da Iawn, diolch. ROFLOL. Sorry, Cath.
not expecting a really good night's sleep tonight... it is so hot and humid here... still 75 degrees
now my eyes really are crossed
Ta7 - later.
Tr7 - an extension of tr5. Someone who gives pleasure to, or a gift, to someone.
Minski, the re8 is someone who's stopped working because of age. Not the first word you'll think of, but starts off that way, and ends in the last three letters that spell a tiny social insect.
could i possibly have some help with the te4s? ta
un peint o cwrw, os gwelwch yn dda
wa7/40 - more horriblly afflicated than the wa4/7. More of the horrible things.
Minski, ta7 even slower or later
Coming up, Sproing. That okay for you?
diolch :)
(I was born and raised near North Wales, so I thought it might come in handy when in the pub)
tr7/20: one who tr5/10s -- generous person!
I wish I understood the Welsh. My heritage is mainly Scots, but I love the sound of Welsh. Aaah.
Welsh looks so, just plain *normal* compared to Finnish!
th7 - at that place, there.
any word on the t4s??welsh, french, english... i don't mind!
I can't believe that biro isn't in the dictionary
te4s, that is
Ah well, Sproing, I was once a barmaid in a North Wales pub.
where?
non-Broadway th7 is an anagram of the Broadway ones. It means at that place or time, or because of that event.
I'm getting all home sick ... or at least, thirsty :)
t4/7 = 'these'
The TR7 pisses me off. I've been trying to spell that word all night and didn't go up one letter to do so. GGGRRR
te4s: one's a drop from the eye, and the other is another part of the body a drop comes from
Has te7/28 been discussed?
tr4/4 = obs. 3d pers. sing. pres. of Tread, for treadeth.
The thing about the biro is that it's one of those brand name kind of things, like saying you're 'Hoovering' when you actually mean your vacuuming. The ballpoint pen was invented by a chap called Laszlo Biro and patented in 1938. Although it's come to be the term for a ballpoint pen in the UK it's known as a 'stylo' in many countries (from the Mesophatanian inventors).
Yes we wept more over the Te7/28 than most words, and were therefore Te7/28.
so it's like "xeroxing" something here in the US
add one letter to the TE 6/18
Rumhole Hotel, Harlech, Sproing. Also worked at Mochras (Shell Island).
Kind of like "Kleenex" or "Jell-o" here in the colonies.
Could someone help wiith be5 (not the headwear), and he5 and he6 (I have he5/16X2 and he6/27X2)? Thanks
ok. got everything but the TH7. THanks for the clues.
cb4 = be5/16 goes on the other end of your head.
Isn't it kind of late there Jacula?
be5 - men's facial hair
Yep, sproing, 4.23am.
Jeez - ***shame**
oops... i had the te4s all along...definitely going crazy...
Minski, th7 is a th5/16 with another little word tacked on
Been to bed once but hearrtburn and other half's snoring kicked in and so I got up again.
got the TH7. didn't know it was a word. just trying combinations and it appeared/
still have 48 words to go but I think I'm done for tonight. the 11pm news is almost over. time to try to pile up some ZZZZZZs. nighty-night kiddos!
minski do you have the corresponding he6? Just lop off the first letter.
Which te6/18? I only have 2... ripper & cylinder
Jacula, I hope you manage to get some sleep!
'Nite Minski.
te6/18 - To pull apart or into pieces by force; rend.
Jera your missing te6 is what one does when standing on top of a fence or other precarious place.
To walk or move unsteadily or unsurely; totter
kind of like "wobble"
I trhink we've got there now, haven't we? Te******* on the brink as we are?
Night Minski.
I had that one, just forgot to write it down... now what do I do to it??
one to go.... an re7.... gosh
in the states, at least, there are childrens' playground equipments called this plus "totter" another name is "see-saw"
Jera - you type it in... tee***
wahey.... therrre you go... done!!!
re7= run away from battle
cathy - how about a clue since you finally found it - I'm down to 15 to go!
Yes, I got it...now what do I do with it??
let me know what you want, cbr
cathy - if you havn't got it already you go back or add a re to your tr5/10/
jacula... you missed my post! i am done, finito, finis, wahey
Where do I add the letter to the te6/18? The 3 that would go at the end make an invalid word...
a nice cold be4, anyone? love them, but am a little allergic to something in them, so get very flushed!
Cathy - I need 2 Re5's and 3 Re6s - for some reason - I'm having trouble with all the t, r and e in the puzzle - very confusing
Jera, you're trying to find the te7? It's nothing to do with the last te6 we were talking about, the "tottery" one. Rather, it means "more weepy-eyed" and adds a vowel toward (but not at) the end of one of the other te6's, which could mean one who rips things up.
That makes a lot more sense... thanks, sfneil
How about the re8? Just a few more & I'm off to bed...
Jera - If you are an ant, at a certain age you stop working and become a re______
Help! Dr_God, I went out and came back in, and all my words disappeared! All 181 of them. Help! Help!
I can't concentrate on this at all 95 words i've gotten, i think i'm too ill to really use my eyes and head lol. Plus it's late and i haven't slept much (due to being ill) so may just go back to playing the sims or even try and sleep (seeing as it is nearly 5am here) eek.
any hints on wi5
Jacula you've worked your magic again...
Did you get the re Jera?
Add a vowel to your wi4/10
Thank you Dr_God, they are back!
Thanks, Jera
Jera, re8 describes someone who is no longer employed due to age. It's not the first word you think of for that, but is similar and ends in a tiny insect.
Jera - did you find it?
I hate to repost but can anyone help me with the 2 Re5's and 3 Re6s - I am almost finished
What are the point values for the he6's? I have 2 27's & need one more...
Yes, Jacula I gushed over you at 10:58!

ta5/16 = docile

thr5/22 take the consonant off your 6
ta5/16. Thank someone (Shortly) for letting you use their lavatory (but change the middle vowel to the 3rd one normally quoted).
THanks so much Baggo and doogle - I got the thr but not the "docile" one yet - another clue? My last word!
Given you the best clue I can CBR.
