Looks good! Morning all...
Morning everyone!
good puzzlling iceboy,sprite and hugs...
Tasty Cs! You too, Hugs and Blaze :)
t6/36
Thanks Blaze.. back at ya :-)
s6/36 Mornin', all!
Ok, how many of us besides Sprite are actually experiencing morning?
t6/18
Hey Doogle! Great, all the usual suspects ;)
Good morning d7/32
Well, technically, it's just after midnight here, so it is sorta morning.
LOL! Guess you are right... I am rubbing the sleep out of my eyes and you are fighting to keep them open, so what's the difference?
Make that s6/36 x2.
Morning to you all!
doogle is there a clue for that s6/32 ??
Jaydee, you are almost in the grid!
thanks Sprite , feel a bit isolated over here!
Hey - guess what? One of the S6/36s is a fish!
t6/30
We're all too busy babbling to be decent chatters, I am afraid ;). Your name gave me a nice Y4/10, by the way.
Frustration! It will not take 'cheyenne'. :(
any clue on how many words today? I just want to know what I'm getting myself into! =)
132words
Not too bad, it's 132 today. I can make stats, if you like. If nobody else is doing it right now?
Hi, everyone! (Still evening here.)
yay - that's doable without too much stress!
n6/27
8 x 2 7 x 3 6 x 15 5 x 40 4 x 72 -- 132 words -- A -- 18 C -- 9 D -- 20 E -- 8 F -- 3 G -- 4 H -- 9 i -- 1 N -- 8 O -- 1 R -- 2 S -- 19 T -- 15 W -- 8 Y -- 7
Thanks, Sprite!
You're welcome ;) Hi, sfneil, it's a fun grid so far.
a6/27
Hi Sprite! Yeah, looks like a challenge. So far I've typed many more invalid words than valid ones! I'm feeling kind of dumb tonight...
Same here, there are lots of combinations in there that should be words. Also have a problem with that promising in- that can only make one word :( I keep seeing more (very invalid) words with it.
Precisely. Especially that 'in'!
Yeah, I feel like I am headed downstream despite paddling upstream :) - none of my noodling and guesses are panning out tonight!
I do, however, have all the C's: C4 x5, C5 x2, C6 x2, all but one word have the same second letter.
Thanks, Krys10!
Thanks Krys... I was missing one
W's: W4 x4, W5 x3, W6 x1
Gotta stop for now at only 72. :( I had a 5-hour polka gig this afternoon that has left me weary and scarred on many levels, and must needs rest my aching head and psyche. G'night all!
G'nite Doogle... sleep well
Okay, now we have got something. There is an A5/12 and there is a D4/8 - 5/18 combo. Put them together and you find A7/44 - 8/60.
Sweet dreams!
Night, Doogle... you've still got more than I... I am not seeing things tonight!
E8/75 (compound) Nice one! We could exchange ours in the chat today ;)
Sprite - is there more than 1 a5/12?
Quite a few names in the grid today! Got a T, an H and an N so far.
yeah, i have two already
I have A5x12 x 2 and I think I have got them all now.
There's a D name too. (sorry, couldn't go to sleep with Sprite's tantalizing hints unsolved!)
then your clue must be for the one I don't have! :( btw... brown
got your E8, thanks for the clue.
blue here.
Mine is somewhere between brown and green. Great, Hugabugs, at least one female name to keep things balanced.
Hugabugs, you need to change one letter of the A5 to make the combination. The words sort of overlap in the biggies. The A5 you need is not the past one, but the charged one.
I'm somewhere between brown and green too, sprite, but this puzzle is making them red.
Got my 2 8's now... still working on the a6/27, one of the s6/36 and the d7/32
Can't believe myself. Looking for my last D, and now I realise I did not enter the female name, just posted about it...
A blenny that glistens would be a s6/36 s6/36.
ROFLMAO! Great clue, Doogle!
the blenny, it is then
H7/56, also a compound.
blimey there's a ton of blenny
That would be a blentitude, I believe.
Found the H7 after trying a bunch of silly compounds (ie "hatnewt"
LOL that's a good one Doogle.... and I finally found it!
h6/48 is compounded too
ugh... FINALLY found the e8/75. I'm telling you... I'm not on tonight!
and... what's your's sfneil?
You found it, that's good enough ;)
baby blue, hugs! you?
dark brown
nice!
:o) thank you... so are yours!
Ok, I'm at a complete loss looking for the Y's - anyone have a list? It's the bottom one I'm having trouble with.. all I have is a YE4 so far.
(mine are brown too) :)
nice eyes too Krys10... I got a ye4/7 and ye4/12 so far... still looking for the others
And it won't take yeeha!
Krys, the other two Ys are an interjection expressing disgust and its plural
Ya4/10 Ye4/12 Ye5/26 Ye4/7 Yo4/11 Yo5/24 Yo4/8
Thanks, Neil.
er, the other two bottom-row Ys... no idea yet on the others
found 'em. *insert expression of disgust here* TY
Thanks, Sprite!
I wonder when yoda will make it to a dictionary! ;o)
Note to self: memorize all Hebrew letters.
And what about that O? Am I missing something obvious again?
No, it isn't obvious and it surprises me it is in the grid. Well, it is not the first offending word babble accepts. O4/10: Used as a disparaging term for a white person. Takes a bit uncommon second letter.
Wow, Sprite! I certainly would not have expected that!
I'm none too fond of the f5/18 either, but at least there's an alternative meaning besides the disparaging one.
Thanks, Sprite. Wasn't even looking in that direction.
I've never even heard of that word before
Reputed to be of pig-latin origin.
Strange, the words that are valid in the enable dictionary. Quite a few discriminating terms, both on ethnic and on sexual preference grounds. Always feel a bit ashamed to enter them and admit I know them ;)
It is the same with the accepted Scrabble dictionaries except, ironically, for the "Official Scrabble Dictionary". The Official Word List and the others contain many offensive terms, in an effort at completeness, I assume.
We have 1921 points today, average length 4.66. If anyone needs clues, I'll be around for another 10 minutes, I think. Good hunting to you all!
well done again, Sprite! Congrats
Congrats, sprite! Since you're offering, I can't seem to find the w6 -- is it related to either of the 5s in some way I'm not seeing?
And, if you have time, I could use a clue to the 8 that is not the e8/75. I'm feeling particularly buffle-brained today!
Or I should say any of the w5s, since there are three of them.
Ugh... three w5s?? Maybe I should just give up and call it a night!
W6: it is, but you need to insert a letter. You could also built on the W5/16. A8: see 12.48 am for my first clue. Def: capable of soothing or eliminating pain, relaxing
Okay, cancel the despairing tone... found the third w5!
*make that 'build'* (argh)
Oh sprite, I can't believe I missed that cute word! Thanks.
Thanks, Sprite! Got the w6... am tracking down your earlier clue on the a8.
Thanks again, Sprite!! Got the a7 and a8 and picked up a few others on the way!
woohoo... Finished the A's
hugs that gives me hope I still have 6 A's to go and then on to the other 67 words
I've got 16 to go.... and I'm just monkey typing now
hugs I need three more a's... list, pretty please?
Hmmm... let's see what I can put together... since you asked so nicely!
You're the top!
I think it's too early for the 2nd letter... but this should give you a pretty good idea of all the A's a 4 5 a 5 12 a 5 18 a 5 10 a 4 4 a 4 7 a 5 16 a 4 4 a 5 12 a 7 44 a 8 60 a 4 4 a 5 10 a 5 16 a 6 27 a 4 10 a 5 22 a 4 7
Thanks so much, hugabugs! Down to two now...
thank you muchly Hugs ((( )))
I need 3 t's, 3 d's, 3 s's, 3 e's, 2 n's and 1 H. *sigh*
Wish I could help, hugs, but I'm behind you on all those letters!
got the E's done... and knocked one off the s's But my eyes are getting droopy
Mine, too! And I'm so far from home! Any hint on the a6/27?
geez... how to put it without using the alternate word
s 4 5 s 5 18 s 4 4 s 5 10 s 4 4 s 5 10 s 4 8 s 5 18 s 5 24 s 6 36 s 4 7 s 4 10 s 4 8 s 5 16 s 6 36 s 5 18 s 4 7 s 4 7 s 5 18 T's coming up...
if you have three in a row... the one in the middle is a6 the others
Oh Krys... you're a sleep saver! Thanks so much
t 4 4 t 5 16 t 4 5 t 5 18 t 5 18 t 6 30 t 4 8 t 4 5 t 4 4 t 5 10 t 6 18 t 4 7 t 4 7 t 5 16 t 6 36 I, for my part, would not mind a list of D's...
Thank you hugs!!!!!!
And thank you Krys10!!
neil - Did the clue work for ya?
thank you krys and hugs
Yes, indeed! I never would have thought that was a word!
Me neither, but it gets to the point where I go through my list and throw an a or an re, or an in or an en in front if it fits with the puzzle
Yes, me, too. But you just saved me about two monkey-hours of typing!
morning all - my monkeys thank you ...:)
*sigh* two words to go, eyes slamming shut, must leave the office - ta, all!
Bye Krys... thanks for all the help!
Bye Krys, thanks!
4 words to go, and I have to call it a night. G'night everyone. Really appreciate all the help.
nitey nite I'm still here plugging away....
Night Blaze... the 2 hrs really makes a difference, eh?
Help - I can't find the A5/16 - not the A plus man's name. Any hints - please.
when something really gets on your nerves... it's so a5ing
G'nite hugabugs! I have to go soon, too. I've still got 16 left! Ugh. Thanks for all the help!
You usually do not want your kids to A***** you when you are playing babble ..
Nites neil... see you tomorrow
Hugabug and Blaze - sorry I was A5/16ing you :) thanks.
Okay, I've reached the point where you say to yourself, "okay, 'nade' cannot possibly be a word", then you type it in anyway, and then you're really a5ed that it really wasn't a word. So, I'm going to bed! Goodnight all! Good luck and thanks for all the help!
Anyone have a list of the Ds? I need to start shipping away at those.
Dianne you could never a 5/16 me or hugs.... do you have the a6/27 it eludes me...
Blze - some one had a great clue earlier.....if you are in the middle of two people you A----- them.
For a6/27: You've heard the expression "betwixt and be-----"? Imagine it started "atwixt..."
It wont take TANNOY....
di and ne thanks "only in babble" can you be so clever
I actually just started this game about five minutes ago and found the W6 as my seventh word. It means tiny or very small.
any hints on the last d i'm missing? d 4 8 d 4 5 d 4 5 d 4 8 d 4 8 d 4 5 d 4 9 d 4 5 d 4 5 d 5 12 d 6 21 d 5 12 d 5 12 d 6 21 d 7 32 d 4 8 d 4 8 d 6 30 d 5 18
IceBoy - I only have 4D words - sorry. Do you have all the S words? If you do can you give me a clue for one of the last s4/7 - not the one that sounds like sign.
IceBoy: I think you are missing a 4/4 between the two 4/8s
dianne the s4/7 is an acronym
Dianne: switch the two middle letters of the last s4
bfdeele - there cant be a d4/4
IceBoy: Sorry, a d4/5 meaning the letter d I am a terrible typist.
bfdeele - thank you - I'm not too swift but your directions finished up the S words for me. Thank you.
you are welcome
bfdeele - got it.. thanks!!!!

Morning all
Morning.....struggling with streaming cold and a beast of a Babble.
Oh poop, I had that and didnt see it! TY
FMitch - Thanks!!
IceBoy - I need one of your really good clues for the D6/30. Obviously I know the first 4 letters but can't find the last two no matter what I type. Help.
I am missing 1 t, according to the list earlier I think it is the 1st t5/16, can anyone help with a 2nd letter and a clue?
Hi Dianne, hows it going today? Can't help on the d's yet sorry.
Fmitch - Hi to you. I wish I could help you with the T16 but I don't have that either - I don't have very many t's.
just starting on the d's now so will let you know if I find it first :)
ta5/16...think floral
Dianne from the 4th letter go right and diagonally up/left
hetz - many thanks saw it straight off with your help
Fmitch - you are wonderful. thanks so much. Now I'll start on the T's.
sorry Dianne, going crosseyed from 4th go down and then up/left but this only works if you are using the correct 3rd & 4th letter positions.. Im probably making this worse lol
Helz - my brain must be fried. Can't find the Ta6 no matter what I type - it won't take tanny and that would be a 16 point word:(
Good morning everyone :)
dianne it was ta5/16 not ta6
morning lola, tis a lovely day here
Dianne, its a flower and it does not have a double letter in it
Hi Lola
I misstyped - I meant Ta5.
Hi ferrari. Miserable and grey here but I've got coffee and babble, so I'm happy :)
Hi FMitch :) Dianne- sounds like another flower that begins with P :)
cant get that dy/6 that fmitch and dianne have been talking about any clues pretty please
Lola and Helz - thanks so much - now on to the Es (which seem terrible!).
Dy6/30 Def - An ATPase associated with motile structures, especially the microtubules
ferrari - think about eating dinner at home - you are not going to dine out but rather..................
Brilliant clue Dianne, thank you!
thankyou soooo much both of you
You are most welcome - everyone gives me so much help. It is nice when I can do it also :)
LOL! My three year old will approve of todays t6/36!
has anyone got the o yet?
Haven't got the O or the i. Where is oink when we need it?
Hey Lola ;) Can`t stop off to pick friends daughter up from nursery, but i`ll be back this afternoon! Lovely sunshine Ferrari :o)
FMitch got o4/10...trying to think of clue but a bit obscure!
Hi lotti :) See you later then, enjoy the sunshine lucky thing!
The i is an i5/10 and according to the log the o is a derogatory word but I dont see it.
see you later lottijw
Hetz what is the 2nd letter?
O4 - think Dunnaway.
I`ll be back for clues i`m sure ttfn :)
second letter is f
we both live in Huddersfield
in5/10- not really that derogatory. One that lacks sense or substance. Think: in5/10 comments!
good clue dianne...never thought to resort to hollywood!
Ooops, it's the O that's derogatory! Makes more sense now...lol!
lol lola, the o is derogatory not the in
helz - what ever works, right?
FMitch- the coffee hasn't kicked in yet. Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!
Where's Anj when you need a good coffee?
Dianne- thanks for the O clue, got it! Think I may have to pass the clue fairy on to you :)
Oh, I'm sure he'll be around soon :)
Dianne - I would never have got that o, thanks
Good morning Babblers! Another challenging grid I see!
Morning Swmbo This grid has it's moments :)
Hi SWMBO :) Only just started but I have a feeling I may be pulling my hair out at the end!
Morning everyone. Lola, are you going to give us the 'e' words today? *Grins & ducks.*
Does anyone have a list of the H words?
can anyone tell me what the 2 8letter words begin with please.
oggy e and a
LOL! You guys aren't going to forget that, are you?! I am actually working on the E's at the mo, but I think it may be a while before I pluck up the courage to post word lists again!
sorry dianne Ive only got 4
good morning jacula
Lola. I had to smile reading the part of the chat log yesterday. I could feel you cringing. I suppose the best way to post the lists is to put 'em in Notepad first and edit them there. Anyway, don't beat yourself up - it could have happened to any one of us.
ferrari - they are probably the same 4 that I have.
I've got 4 too perhaps they are different ones (we should be so lucky)? They are ha4/7 ha4/10 he5/22 hy5/2 2
...a while?? OK, who are you and what have you done with the real Lola?! Good Morning Babbleland :D
Cringe is not the word, I felt awful. There is nothing worse than someone who spoils a game for other people. I'm not that computer savvy and it had not occured to me to edit in notepad first, but believe me, I will be doing so in the future!
Morning Ferrari. I see the Sicilian volcano isn't quite in today's grid and I thought I'd got away from it yesterday until it popped up in The Mail on Sunday mag's crossword. Which reminds me, does anyone know that answer to 5 down in that?
he4/8
Dianne-there's also he4/8
Hi Anj :)
Dianne - I've only got 4 h's so far. Morning Anj.
I have a He6/48 as well.
have stopped buying it since started babbling which is probably unfair cos that's where first heard of it - the answer to my dreams cos played babble first 20 odd years ago and noone wouldl play with me aah
sorry boggle going boggle eyed
dianne- I have an ha7/56.
or should that be babble eyed
Lots of Christian names in today's grid. It reads like a school register. LOL.
Hi Lola, Hi Jac :) I think this one is going to be caffeine heavy. I already have a bad feeling about the 8 As on the top row :/
Even Cilla from Corrie's son is in there!
Talking of which, it's your turn to make babe ;)
I've found 'Fat Annie' now. LOL.
Coming right up...a large cafetiere of java with a hint of mint choc to get the ol' brain cells energised :)
Thanks Anj, I need it this morning :)
lola - gee, shucks - I got that h7/56. thanks for letting me know there was an H7.
special guest star YODA!
You're welcome Dianne :) How are you doing with the E's?
...yes, but grid, Yoda, accepted not :/
Aaah, the force is strong within the babble grid today, yes!
LOL, Anj. One of Larry Grayson's catchphrases is in there, 'What a g*****!' If you remove the happy part and pluralise the end it gives you a da4/8.
58 words in. Time to shower and go to *shudder* WORK. Will try to sneak in some Babbling though...BBL...
lola - doing terrible with the Es. All I have are E4/7 x 3 and the E8. UGH!
Do you want a listing for the e's?
lol Jac...always wondered who Slack Alice was :)
Anj - Don't forget Fagash Lil.
e list posted at 3.56
ooooh shut that door! Now this is scary. I was more a Forsyth fan myself. Even had the carpet tile to prove it lol
I've got the E list - what I need are the E words.
Dianne- LOL!
for the e8 think sunglasses but think it in 2 words and reference your sh5/18
dianne- ec4/7: similar to the word for the reflection of sound. Plural of that gives you ec5/22 :)
Does anyone have the d6/30 they can let me have a clue for. Thanks
Good morning all! How's the puzzle today?
Good morning. Can someone tell me what the word count is today?
missing 1 h but heres my list so far;ha5/16, 4/7, 4/10, 7/56, he4/8, 5/22, 6/48, hy5/22.
ed4/8: A letter appearing in Old English, Old Saxon, Old Norse, and modern Icelandic to represent an interdental fricative.
lola - thank you - you are so nice:)
Morning Jen...i'm beginning to suspect today's grid has been set by Torquemada :/ Eva - 132 words total
Eva - 132 words today
Thanks Anj and FMitch!
chrisP see dianne's great clue at 5.11am
You are most welcome Dianne :)
Chris P - the d6/30 - it's a cellular biology term - begins with DY. Good luck - the definition fried my brain.
Anj, I think you are right! I can usually just look at the puzzle and rattle off 10-15 4 letter words quickly, but it's all gibberish today! :)
Not quite the challenge I wanted on a Monday lol
ferrari - I'm missing the same H as you are.
Thanks EdArzakh - I'd managed to miss that one.
I'm missing E4/8 and E5/22 - anyone have any help, clues, hints for me? Please.
I have an ha4/8.
e5/22, past tense of e4/9.
lola - thank you. Why didn't I see that word?
lola - I keep say this - thank you - got that E5. Now only the E4/8 to go one the bothersome things.
oh for goodness sake blind again thanks lola
Dianne- just can't think of any way to help, such a funny little word..... I can tell you that the first letter is the only vowel and it looks like it's a plural?
lola - funny little word was a good clue - I should have gotten that much sooner - it has been in the puzzle before. do you need any help - I certainly would be pleased if you did (and I could).
dianne its an anagram of your s4/8
Dianne, do you have the sh4/8 - wooden hut at the bottom of the garden, usually full of gardening equipment, deckchairs, 150 half used tins of paint etc? the e4/8 is an anagram of that :)
Thanks to all the help I've gotten I have polished off the Es - phew.
can anyone post a list of the n's? plleeaassee
Fmitch - I'm struggling with the Ns as well - only have 4. Still can't find the i5 word either.
FMitch- would love to but I am no longer allowed to :( (and I only have 5!)
These are the N's i have: na4/7, ne4/4, ne4/7, no4/5, no4/4 :)
I have ne6/27 also
Dianne there was a clue posted earlier for the in5/10 around the time we were taling about the o wrod
missing an n4/4, but have the following;na4/7,ne4/4, ne4/7, ne6/27, no4/5, no4/4, no6/30
Greetings and saluttaions, fellow Babblers!
thanks Lola, you fall off the horse you just have to get back on again LOL
Thanks chris p :) Hi Jera :)
Ferrari, na4/4 - grandmums :) Hi Jera :)
Sighs deeply... I guess I should stop saying thngs I can't spell... I swear my spelling has gotten WORSE since I started this game!!
Howdy Anj!
Jera- lol! It must be the excitement of a new babble grid!
Lotsa almost words with those god letters tuck in the corners!
Fmitch - I say the "think comments" for the in5/10 but right now my comments aren't too nice about this word!
I also have a na4/4.
thanks anj, have finished can do something else now boo hoo. 132 /1921 if it helps.did you know that nonclandestine nondegenerates can be found in today's grid, enjoy the rest of your day lol xx
Right good people, I must dash off to pick up small creator of general bedlam and much mirth from nursery. Be back later :)
y/w Ferrari - pity the letters don't touch lol 'bye Lola
Ns coming at you: na4/4 na4/7 ne4/4 ne4/7 ne6/27 no4/5 no4/4 no6/30
Anj thanks, was beginning to dispair at the n's.
Anj - thank you for the N list - at least I have a starting point now.
No probs - yell if you need any clues for those :)
Anj - the list did the trick - got the Ns. Now just need that i word.
Dianne - the 'i' word sounds like a way of saying 'mad' or 'barmy' but take a consonant out.
Hip hip hooray - I got the i word and am now done. Must make dinner but will wait a little to help if anyone needs it.
Dianne - can you post the h's? still missing 3
Here are the Hs ha4/8 ha5/16 ha4/7 ha4/ 10 ha7/56 he4/8 he5/22 h e6/48 hy5/22
Gotta go - have to make dinner and I have a hungry hubby. Have fun. talk to you all tomorrow.
Oh wow, almost goddess, LOL!
H756 Country bumpkin

Whew, got that kid on the school bus, time for fun!
7:10 amfit1 and it is h?
I find it fascinating how some of us are starting the day,& some are winding down... but we're all here at the same time... the wonders of the internet!
and some of us are about to have lunch, see you guys later TTFN
Later, FMitch... didna mean to ignore everyone in between!
Hey there, Jacula, how are you today?
Why can't I find the na4/4? :(
I can't find it either, Jen...
more than one indian bread
From the grandma clue... it does not end in a vowel... it's a plural (just found it!)
thanks Alleyn... didn't think to look "down"!
Pleasure........
These As in the top row are ag - I mean, very painful to find!
I give up please can I have a clue for the ha4/8 just can't see it and a2z is'nt helping, then I only have the s's left. argh!
one hell, not two
If anyone can help me with the A words, I would appreciate so very much. I have the following: agx3 anx9 atx2 ayx1 I'm missing three. Thanks.
fmitch, I gave a clue, but here it is again. A country bumpkin from the sticks
Uneaixoise - that was a very elegant clue, thanks
bfdeele, I have 3 x at and 3 x ay if that helps :)
mon plaisir!
Anj: Perfect. Thank you very much.
no worries bfd - your list helped me get the the last two a8 & a9 so a big thankyou here too :)
Anj: Those three a-words finished the grid for me today. Thank you again. Everyone have a great day.
Hi, I'm back :) Got some catch up to do!
...chase me, chase me! :)
*throws chocolate stick* Fetch boy, fetch!!!
Welcome back, lola, I'm sorry for not seeing you earlier... I wasn't ignoring you on purpose...
lol! No worries Jera :)
...tsk! The indignity of it all... :/ *goes scampering after aforementioned stick*
Good morning. Getting a late start today but am ready to start!
Hi mickie :)
Hi Lola!
Lola, I have a mom question for you... our sons are about the same age... Gwyd will be 4 on Saturday... do you cut your son's grapes??
Jera- my daughter is 3 and a bit and I used to but don't any more. Are you worried about him choking?
I'm sorry, I thought you had a boy... yes, he gets mightily offended when I tryt o cut his grapes... he's never choked but likes to eat on the run... he's NEVER wanted me to cut them, maybe because of Sprite (she's 5 years older)
Jera- I would let him get on with it. There are probably loads of other things that are easier to choke on that we haven't even thought about!
Yup, I get a bit paranoid about choking, had to do first aid on a little one back in my babysitting days
Lola and Jera, at least you can get your kids to eat grapes! The only fruit my son will eat is bananas! :(
Yeah, it's not easy to let go of them, is it? You have to be so watchful when they are babies and the next thing you know they are little people who don't want you cutting their grapes!
My boy eats fruit & meat... he's into the no carb thing, I gues!
Jen- lol! Mine would eat nothing (and I am not kidding here) but bananas for about three months when she was about one year old!
It started before he was even 2! he would give me this evil look, like ''Do you think I'm an idiot, woman? I can chew for pity's sake!"
Oh lola... scaaaaary diapers....
Mine is into the no fruit/veggies thing, LOL. I've given up for the moment because he's so pigheaded.
No veggies here except, oddly enough, for broccoli! He LOVES the stuff!!
Hi, movieman here again - ne chance anyone of you good folks out there in Babbleland could give me hintz and/or definitions 4 the 8's...I always have difficulty with the long words... Muchos gracias...
movieman, the a8 is a plural of a7...Capable of soothing or eliminating pain the e8... think sunglasses
Jera, where in NoVa are you? I'm in Herndon.
I'm over in Lorton, Jen, not far at all!
thanks for the e8 clue, jen!
no big, Une! :)
I am so happy. I've done the 8s! Any clues for the 7s!
just two to finish the 2's. the last 5/18 and one of the 4/7's..anyyyone???
sorry, meant the S's
Yay, Alleyn! I must finish this puzzle today, my ranking is really slipping. My husband had to commandeer the computer last night for a work emergency, so i didn't get to finish.
I see Wyoming is represented in the puzzle today... too bad it won't accept "Cheyenne"
I thought the same thing Darleen!
The I word is one of my favorite words!
great minds, eh?
Alleyn, the 7s are: a744 - singular of you a8 d7/32 - sounds like plural Osmond brother - starte with your do4/5 (meaning finished) and build on that. You can 6 words from that the look the same ha7/56 - yokel, rural looney? what livestock eat, plus what a plant grows from
Sorry for the brutal typing. It's hard to type with paws :'(
y help! I'm missing one.... ya 4 10 ye 4 12 ye 5 26 ye 4 7 yo 4 11 yo 4 8
Anj - any chance of an actual definition 4 the d7? Muchos gracias...
pluralise your yo4/11
thanks jacula... stupid plurals/ other endings always get me
Movieman, one of those no def words, but it sounds like people who give things, or maybe body parts to others :)
Movieman - Think of the most famous Osmond Brother (Puppy Love) not the one who was a Long-Haired Lover From Liverpool. Hope that helps.
Anj - No way can I expand the do/4. Done the A7 but others are alluding me?
movieman- how are you with your 16th century poets? Famous poet John Do*** plus a vowel and pluralised will give you your do7/32 :)
Got the Osmond brother but unable to plural him!!! A yokel?
Good clue that, Lola.
ha4/10 minus the last letter plus se4/5 equals ha7/65.
D's done. Just the h/7 please
Alleyn, by slight of hand ;) - add an e to the end (d5) - then give it a double n (d6) - plural that (d7) - take out the extra n (d6) - then put it back and take off the e & s Does that make sense?
To everyone who aided me re: the 7's and 8's - got them all - now 4 the rest...
Anj - Ds done! Yokel clue PLEASE........need to do the washing..........!!!
Alleyn - gave you the yokel at 9.04
Woooah, go Anj!
Alleyn - for the h7 think the grassy stuff that cattle eat plus what it grows from...
Edited cos end was wrong. Yokel clue:ha4/10 minus the last letter plus se4/5 equals ha7/56.
Alleyn, there's a country rock band from Minnesota called The Killer H........s who have an album out called 'The Good Old Days' That should google :)
Got it! Wow what a weird word......thank you SO much all of you - up to 76 words! Eureka
any help on the 2 missing w's would be greatly appreciated .... i have: we 4 7 we 5 16 we 5 22 we 4 7 we 4 7 we 4 7
Anj, help! Am missing pesky d4/9. What is the second letter please?
cowboy lingo . . . git along little d---
Do4/9 babe :) *wags tail and hints that you should maybe drop a g from me*
Hi folks! I am missing an e: ec4/9 ec5/20 ed4/8 ey4/7 e y4/7 ey8/75 Help me, please?
agzam: we6/36 :)
There are 2 we 5/22. Just jiggle the letters.
sfneil ec5/22 - past tense of your ec4/9.
Of course! Thanks, Jacula!
Thanks babe! Sooooo much easier when you know which way to look :)
hello people
Hello cathy :)
Hi Cathy.
sfneil, there is another e, an e4/7 I think, but I don't have it... Hi cathy!
it's an ey4/7 - think of the surname of a famous literary heroine and change the penultimate letter.
Hey, Toyah is in here today too :) Now we will all be singing I want to be free lol
thanks swmbo, I've got all the e's now. there are actually 3 e4/7s! all begin with the same two letters. Hi Cathy!
sfneil,ey4/7 old word for eye
y/w Lola :) Hi Cathy :)
Hi everyone.Hope you are all fit and well!
wow... toyah... it'th a mithtery, it'th a mithtery
help on teh 2nd we5/22... can't figure it for the life of me....
Toyah's one of our local girls. She does voiceovers for many documentaries.
And, of course, as soon as I send that, I find it... NM!
She also does the voice on the teletubbies :)
i remember the lisp and the hair more than anything
kc - we5/22 - a p**** for your thoughts.
The second w 5/22 looks like the name of a girl character in Peter Pan but replace the d with an n.
Doesn`t toyah do Brum?
Hi mom :)
thanks.. my vocabulary is increasing everytime I play this... at least that's what I tell my boss ;-)
kc, Both we use same 4 letters, 1st, 2nd, and 5th are the same.
No teletubbies here today (aside from Fat Annie who I mentioned earlier). There is kiddy programme character though - tw6/36.
Hi lola ,Is tiny being good ?
Yes, she is watching Barbie of Swan Lake at the mo!
Glad she`s giving you your playtime.
lol! Yes, mommy gets a bit grumpy if she doesn't get her playtime!
Hi Macadam :) Cathy, she still tours those songs now
Hi Lola! I just can't get the o. Can I get a clue?
Train `em well.
this puzzle isn't nice today...!!! :-(
3 words left to get sh6/36, 4/7, 4/10 (they run sequentially and the 6/36 is the first one on the list) - can anyone help please?
FYI re g's: go4 x 3 go5 x 1
Hi punster :) of4/10, last three letters sound like a girls name. I believe it is a derog term but I've never heard it before. Hope that helps :)
Can I get a clue for the e5/22 pretty please?
Shoulda got that before :-(
Thanks Une :)
past tense of e4
Can someone tell me which 'n' I'm missing? na 4/4 na 4/7 ne 4/4 ne 4/7 ne 6/27 no 4/5 no 4/4

he4/8
Now if that had been a snake I'd be bitten! Thanks!
glad to see so many folks are unfamiliar with the o4--Babble uses waaaay too many racial slurs IMHO
Take the o and add a girl's name - need more?
By the way punster, what's it like back at work with all the students returning?
Same old, same old ;-)
I'm confused... how can there be a d4/4?
punster - still can't get that o - could u give me the points value?

Glad to help sfneil
Hello happy people, i`m back :) You`re back too then mum!
Can I ask, what is a 'blenny'???
Hi lotti :)
sueb - A drowning of many persons at once, -- a method of execution practiced at Nantes in France during the Reign of Terror - try Googling that...
Lola thanks for your sh6 posting don't suppose you have the other 2 I was looking for?
Sorry Une, I know I seemed like I had this already, but can you give me the second letter of the d6/30? Sorry :-[
Anj, could you tell me how many sy words there are? *batting eyelashes*
I could use it, too! I'm also missing d4/8
Hi Lotti :) Swimmy, a blenny is a fish
OK. How/why a fish?
3 x sy words sweetums :)
plural of 24 hours
Une - most appreciated :D
afternoon all, hiya bubby
Thanks, Une, but I think it's the last d4/8 or the next to last I'm missing.
FMitch- have found them since then yes! sh4/7: past tense of a swear word! sh4/10: last three letters are what horses like to eat :)
Hey Bobsta........not too busy then!!!??? ;)

Well done FMitch!!! Now, can you help me with my second sy4/7?! I have the one that sounds like sign :)
Wotcha gregory!! Wardi is leaving now, Fancy A pint?
With him i mean.
By the way punster, have checked my ranking, and I am now up to no.166 (but u are no.35, so u are still miles ahead of me, even though I have finished my last three Babbles (*gnashes teeth*)
lola only one sy4/7, but there is another s4/7 using the same letters
if hes quick!!!!
I'm missing a D. I think it's a dy6...is there a dy6?? Help, help!
he'll be there in about 30 mins
yes, and a previous clue was great--"not eat out"
Thank you sfneil! An doggie told me there were 3 sy words, guess no more treats for him!
Lola take your sy4 and reverse the 2 middle letters
You're welcome lola! Do you have the d6/30, by any chance?
Thanks FMitch, got it :)
there are at least 2 sy words, I have an sy4 and an sy5
That's the full count on sy's. one 4 and one 5.
my clue was for the d6/30
Une, thx. for the d6 clue.
Yes I do! Take your dy4/8 and add the opposite of out.
sn4/7 sy4/7 sy4/18
Ux - thanks for the d6/30 clue. It was brill!
Thanks, Une! missed your clue! and thanks lola! got it!
Thanx Unie :) As usual I had tried every combo but that lol Lola, i'm sorry :( You will have to start putting vitamins in my Chum as my eyesight appears to be going. Pity you can't smell words lol. No, hang on, let's not go there... :/
Thanks for the clarification FMitch. I have one n left, the no6/30. Anyone got a hint?
noyade: french word for "drowning"
That's okay Anj, but now you owe me an extra special coffee ;)
OOh, a little more than a 'hint' there! I'd got that one though.
I'm working on the last elusive ch6, 4 d's & 4 s's.
ok... i need chocolate... just paid the bills.... very depressing!
It's not okay :( I feel like a right chump :'( I've finished and I'm not even celebrating...
goodness me, jacula... i think i got the elusive ch word by accident!!!! the vice president's surname, with the vowel and 4th letter switched!!! it was a complete typo
Aaah, hug time ((((((((xxx))))))))
ohmygod, i'm so sorry!!!!
and realised i misread your post... lol... so forget it!
Have sy4/7, sy5/18. Cannot get the last 1. Plz help!
I'd rather spell the words out than send everyone off on a wild goose chase. I'm having a Monday. All I need is a 'splut' and my day will be complete
Speaking of chocolate, you should see the birthday cake my daughter's just made for her boyfriend - choc sponge with a white chocalate & white malteser filling, topped with white chocolate, brown maltesers and fudge! There might well be a slice gone out of it before he arrives tonight.;-)
punster, there are only 2 x sy :)
Ugh. I am somehow STILL missing a d4! Where is he? da4/8 da4/5 da4/5 da4/8 d e4/5 de4/8 do4/5 do4/9 do4/5 d o4/5 dy4/8 Thanks!!!
jacula... sounds LOVELY
Anj- I think not. I felt like a complete idiot yesterday. Still cringing :/
By the way punster, have checked my ranking, and I am now up to no.166 (but u are no.35, so u are still miles ahead of me, even though I have finished my last three Babbles (*gnashes teeth*)
Unie, join the club lol Thanx Lola (((x))) I shall go and get perky with the coffee :)
Naa-na-ne-naa-na! Making rude noises ;->
look of horror on shocked visage . . .
Jacula, that cake is going to get you busted by a Cambridge Diet hit squad lol
Hi, all!! :) Can anyone tell me how the ratings are figured?
Anj - I didn't make the cake, my daughter did.
sfneil- I have 2 x dy4/8. One sounds like to eat and the other means to colour fabric :)
lola thanks!!! I swear I am blind today.
Hi Lianakate :)
i'm going down for the count in the "we's"--is there a w6? I think that's the one I'm missing .
Down to one nasty little n4. I have na4, ne4x2 and no4x2. What's missing, please??
Why are the 4 letter words the ones that give me the most trouble? Can I get a hint for the first ne4/7?
Yes, we6/36 :)
Unie we6/36. It's a we5 with an extra letter just before the last.
sfneil yes there is a we6 very similar to thsoe youalready have just ad a letter near the end
no6/30
Unie, it's a we6/36 which is one of your we5/22s with an s slotted in :)
mickie first ne4/7 (at least that I have) = Hawaiian goose
Right, coffee time! Anyone want?
I have the hawaiian goose and the salamander but I think there is one more.
Liana, I can't fathom the ratings although I am beginning to suspect that how often someone doesn't play is more significant than how often they do... :/.
Lola, words aren't enough :)
mickie - only 2 ne4 on the list
Okay so I was making myself crazy for no reason! Thanks:)
there is an ne6/27 though
whew, thanks, Anj--finally got the we6
FMitch do you know which n4 I'm missing? I have na4, ne4x2 and no4x2. Thanks!
Thanks, anj. appreciate your input :)
Cathy - I've messed about with that ch6 like you said but I can't make it work.:-(
maybe it's an American thing but we use the ch6 to mean corny
sfneil- there are 2 x na4. Plural of negative and plural of name for grandmother :)
there are 2 na4 as well
lola, you saved me!!! Thanks so much!!! I'm done! Woot!
And thanks, FMitch!
Uni - I've got that ch6. There are 3 ch6's?? I've got the one you put on toast and the related one aforementioned.
You're welcome sfneil, well done!
is there a full list of the y words please?
Howdy Doody, verbal wranglers.
Hi Judi :)
Anj: is there an american indian tribe in the puzzle? Hi Judy ;o)
y 4 10 y 4 12 y 5 26 y 4 7 y 4 11 y 5 24 y 4 8

Hey movieman, you still there?
I am cursed by farm annimals!
cbr - wait till you get to the pond life in the t's
punster - I certainly am, and I only need 19 more words for my four-in-a-row (*uncontrollable guffaws*)

It's taken me a coupla hours but I'm finally finished. Ne1 want some help, or are you all good (like me) :-P
Hi Bobsta - there is a ch8 tribe but it's not acceptable :/
love a list of S and T, if not already posted. Thanks
ye5 is plural of yr ye4
punster - youve finished already? You were not using a2zwordfinder by any chance?
thought i was going mad or that 'the computer say's NO'!!!
Now. Babble will accept a french word for drowning, but not hanta, as in hanta virus???
Not until I got stuck, and I still didn't need it for most of them :]
thanks for that hint..i found it..how could i have missed that!!!
Thanx anyway Anj ;o)
punster - any chance u could post a list of the a's, c's, d's, n's, s's & y's... Muchos gracias...
No worries Bobsta - i've learned to live with the Enable Overlords raining on my parade lol

Hey Anj, lotti's gone very quiet.....!
I think the posting for the NO6/30 must have been a mistake..since i cannot find it!! loll, Am not clever like punster..(grin)
Movieman, I found these 2 posted earlier and reposted them for you. It tends to be quicker to examine the previous posts ..before.. you ask for help. Like asking for the y's when they had only just been posted ;->
morning all, this puzzle's first word I saw... my favorite food group, ch6x33... LOL
lianakate the no 6 is there, its the french dorwning one
Lian, UNE ... Memphis here
Does ne1 else think I might be picking on movieman more than usual?
Lola, she is isn't she? We should send out a search party equipped with coffee & chocoalte and led by Joe Elliott lol You okay yourself?
FMitch - I'm going to seek out the pond life as soon as I get out of my lunch meeting - sounds intriguing!
Hi mtn :) How is Beau today?
Punster: It looked a bit like that!! :o)
happy as a clam Lola, thanks for asking, how was your weekend?
FMitch..lol, thank you! (Au secour)..highschool french and probably misspelled..lol, its been 40 yrs after all
punster - not really, you're like this all the time (and I mean ALL THE TIME!!!)
I need a clue for the ec 5/22, anyone?
I need help with the Ys. I am missing Y4/12 Y5/26 I think they are both YAs but the Y5 might be a YE, not sure about that though. Thanks.
It was good thanks! Managed to get out of wallpaper stripping and babbled instead :)
Sue plural of ec4/9
I meant past tense!
suebhoney: ec5 sort of like drawing without the 't'
Someone posted a list way far down and put a ec 5/22 (I have the ec 5/20), I can't find it and am wondering if that list was wrong?
LOL, sounds creative, we had our annual crafts fair in midtown this weekend, so had lots of friends over and well.... couldn't babble.. :(
Maybe someone could repost the E list?
Anj- don't think we'll need coffee and chocolate if we send Joe!!! Finally finished despite numerous interuptions ie having to watch impromptu ballet recitals :)
sueb there is the ec5/22, past tense of the 4/9
got the last 2 Ys.
are there two SY 4's? I can only find one.
DOH sometimes the OH SO OBVIOUS escapes me. Thank you all, sorry I wasn't comprehending what you were trying to tell me :D
there is an sy4 adn an sy5
Looking for my last s5/18 now. Sorted the mythical ch/6 - it was a ch4.
mtn- isn't it irritating when life gets in the way of babble?! LOL! And I have promised to do the painting, so didn't get out of it totally :)
Hey Lola, how goes the hunt?
I'd put a pic of my daughter's cake on my profile but it's not showing up yet. Think I need a new keyboard - this one's squeaking.:-( (No, I haven't trapped the mouse in it! LOL.)
LOL... lola, you are too funny... life does get in the way of babble too often.
the cake's there Jac. very nice. send me a slice please.
it's there jacula .... it's just too small for these eyes :p
Jac, is it missing a slice yet?
All done Punster :)
Jacula it is there and it looks sooooooooooooo good
iWeird! I've still got the bouncy castle pic showing.
Have to go make supper. Will try to come back later. Cheers :)
you keep the bouncy castle and send us the cake!!!
Mtnjock..YAY..another neighbor. And Yankees wouldnt believe we southerns could possibly PLAY this game..lololol

Hmmmmmm...since I am diabetic sometimes all this goodies talk gets to me..ARGHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Nice talking to u Lola ;-)
Have you lot eaten the cake 'cos I still can't see it??
Got my last word - the sh5/18. Could have sworn I'd already put it in!
Jacula ~ I keep having to refresh my browser to keep up with the chatlog today. It is running very slowly. Try that and maybe your picture will update.
speaking of delicious treats..i guess i must go eat my yummy lunch (blech) Low fat cottage cheese, and a couple of slices of canned lite peaches..oh booooooooo
Minski - I tried refreshing before and it didn't work. Has now I've tried it again though.
what are you doing eating canned peaches when there are still fabulous South Carolina peaches to be had?!
lianakate - what works for you in the alternative yum arena?
Unex..i dont have any on hand..and I have to go grocery shopping..will get some, just to please you..lol, (thanks for the reminder)!!
there ARE no yum alternatives, FMitch..lol. I eat what I must..and hate it.
just a few blocks from my house is an outdoor market that's had them all summer--I'm basically turning into a peach!
sheesh, thats not fair
and up until a couple of weeks ago they'd had local homegrown tomatoes (since July) . . . usually last longer but we've had a terrible drought this summer
Ripley tomatoes are still in season Une...
Anj, you still around? Can you give me a definition for that dy6 you were missing?
you folks across the pond have had a rough summer as well, right? or was it just on "the continent"?
Uneaixoise, where are you located? We have insanely good produce in the farmers markets in San Francisco right now.
Yeah! Blueberry season has gone on about two months longer than I had expected. I just moved here from Oakland - which is the best Farmers Market in SF, Neil?
We have had some pretty high teperatures this summer and lots of wet bits too but not as bad as some parts of mainland Europe. Now we are definately into Autumn
I really like the Ferry Plaza market. It is insanely crowded, but they have the best vendors, and it's easiest for me to get to without a car. I go early so I'm there when it opens and is less madly crowded.
The 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness' is just beginning here in UK. I am somewhat overwhelmed by 'mellow fruitfulness' and have been picking, cooking and/or freezing stuff hand over fist. Which reminds me - I've still got a stack of golden plums to finish picking.
sfneil, I KNOW . . . I'm in Nashville, Tennessee . . . when I've visited California I've been VERY jealous of your year-round fresh produce!
Yes, we are extremely lucky here.
Thanks for the recommendation. Will see about going (early) this Saturday. Only that stupid dy6 and I'm done! Ack!
Morning Everyone!
hi y,all l,ve got the ey 8 what is the other one also the 2x7 got the ha7 anyhelp
Jacula - is that quote from Keats?
Well, I've done the laundry and the folding, finished my Babble, showered and dressed and I'm only half an hour late for work! Talk to you all later, Babblers!!
But Une..., Nashville has two items much better than anything California has: two of my grandchildren!! And here I sit in Atlanta.
Krys10 the dy6 is a dy4/8 with two more letters. Sounds like what you do when you don't eat out. Anyway, I'm off to work. So long everyone!
have a good day sfneil
See ya neil.... have a great day
ah! got it, thanks. atoz failed me this time.
Sorry all, gotta run. Hope U all have as much fun cracking this 1 as I did ;-D Adios!
Sorry Krys, I was off in the world of unBabble again so I've only just read your earlier post. Glad you found it meanwhile :)
FMitch - indeed it is from Keats' 'To Autumn'. SEASON of mists and mellow fruitfulness! Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun; Conspiring with him how to load and bless With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eaves run; To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees, And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core; To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells With a sweet kernel; to set budding more, etc.
Anyway, gotta run. Got a hot date with an iron and a pile of clothes plus those plums to finish picking.
Could anyone possibly post the D's again? The earlier list posted already had 20 words and someone said they were missing one, which would make 21. It's confusing me :D
Thank you Jacula!!!
I knew that rang bells, reminds me of my fav Keats St Agnes Eve
Anj do you happen to have a clue for ha5/16.........;) It just isn`t slapping me in the face!!!
Suebh - there are only 20 d's
please can someone help with the w,s a list word be great
we4/7 we5/16 we6/36 we5/22 we4/7 we5/22 we4/7 we4/7 good luck!

I don't have any 7s or 8s. Have their definitions or any clues been posted? Thanks.
I'm sure this has been answered but I can't find it... are there 2 sy4s or just one?
Music coursework?? What are they inflicting on you now Miyavi?
i sy 4 and i sy5 not connected
Don't worry Anj, if I ignore it, it'll just go away... This is what I get for doing a GCSE a year early!
Macadam, are you asking me if there is an an5/10? If so there is.
lola is could you plz send over a clue for that an 5/10 TIA
Got to go soon, to get ready for choir practice, but will come back later to try to finish

Thanks lola .Yes that is what I was asking.Had to leave game for a few mins sorry about the delay.
Did you get it Blaze? It means Regarding; concerning
I'm sure this has been discussed before now, but I need clues for the two eights. All I know is that someone said the E8 was a compound. More like confound for me.
Being able to spell could be a hindrance with this LOL
Oh Anj! *swoon*
Judi think sunglasses... Minski you too
e8 could be worn by tennis players
Judi - the e8 is a good compound think sunglasses
How's about help on my last G... I have the stick, the animal, & the sex organ (what a combo?!).
e8/75: a protection from the head against the sun
THanks for the E8 guys!
Ne cluez and/or definitions 4 the s6/36...I would be eternally grateful... Muchos gracias...

*SMACK* (ty, FMitch)
Movieman polish Mr S.... with a Y
movieman add a letter to sh5/16
a8: plural of 17 which means something capable of soothing or eliminating pain.
Sorry Jera, read your post wrong- too busy laughing!!!
Jera ~ thanks for the G definitions. I was missing the sex organ.
Well, we Babblers doooooo know how to party, eh, lola?
mac/ lotti - I already have that one, but i'm sure there's another...
I believe Hitler was missing one too.....
swmbo My monkey typing is lame to day I just can not get the right combination for that dratted a word
TEE HEE!!! Figures. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have any.
Lola! you swooned :)
OK, someone gave a similar clue to this: take the word you use for a temporary shelter used for camping, change the first letter to an 'n' and put an 'a' at the beginning...
I am missing 3 C words. Are all the C words CHs or are some just C?
Okay, this last AG word is working my last nerve... hopefully it won't be as hilarious as the G list... help, please?
swmbo you are a leader of words....thank you
there is one ce4/6
Minski, a past clue said all the c's had the same second letter except for one...
Blaze an5/12 drop e but add dy4/8
all the c words are ch apart from the very 1st one which is ce4/6
jera do you have 2 ag 5 each ends differntly.... and an ag 4 less one letter of ag 5 ??
Jera- have you put an a in front of the g word you just found?
Must dash ttfn :o)
...was it something I said? :(
'Bye lotti, be good ;)
This last s6/36 is really driving me insane...macadam and lotti posted cluez earlier but they were for a word I already had...ne cluez would be mega-cool...
miyavi_fan u back yet?
Jera, which ag? they all have the same first four letters an ag4 and 2 ag5's
LOL! Anj, don't you know girls love it when guys sing Sinatra? Love the new icon, btw :)
movYman add letter to s 5/16
Movieman, put a 'y' on the end of your sh5/16
movieman: think beer sh****. Replace the d with an n.
Well I've got the blue eyes lol - gotta go again - food frenzy :)
5 words left. BBL...
gem gem, miyavi nipped off to do her music coursework :)
Yeah, me too. For good this time! See you all tomorrow :)
Sorry, swmbo, had to catch a naked preschooler... I have the past one & the pain one...
So are you all youngsters?
I can't seem to find the 2nd sh4/7... have the one that's the past tense of poop. Any help? Please and thank you!
Oops, swmbo left... could someone help me with my last AG, please?
oops, nevermind... it's the only sn. :)
Alleyn - youngsters is a reltive thing but no I dont think so !
I have 3 AGs. 2 5s that are the same except for the last letter and a 4. HTH.
Jen, there's only one sh4/7. Jera, your ag's are both 5s, right? Lop off the last letter of either one.
Of course, why didn't I think of that? tyvm, sfneil!
My pleasure, Jera!
a7/8 can anyone tell me the second letter?
I have 2 d's I can't find. The first 6/21 and the third 5/12. Tia!
can't help mickie still have 8 d's to go
an7/40 and an8/60
moosey an7/44
Thanks anyway Moozie:)
ty fmitch
start from your an5/12, then get the an7/44 and that leads to the an8/60
three simple words...done and done!!! See y'all next time!!!
could someone provide definitions for the AN7 & AN8 please?
Guess I have to find the AN5/12 then. Off to search.
a7/8 capable of soothing or eliminating pain
Minski - seach google for "capable of soothing or eliminating pain" and that should help
a7 also means "relaxing"... at least, that's how I think of it.
ok. Thanks All. Got the A7 & 8. Missing the other 2 7s though. Where should I start looking?
do7 and ha7
Thanks for the heads up sfneil. Off to search again.
do7 is plural of a do6/21 ha7 means "yokel"
I only have 1 F... the fo that's like an old fo.. Could I get some help on the others? :)
Baby just woke up from her nap. Gotta go. Back later to play more. TTFN.
fo4/7 a basin for holy water
fa5/18 bundle of sticks fo4/7 basin for baptism
Thanks!
Can I get a hint for the third d5/12 and the first d6/21 please?
Wahey, yo to all again...back after scary music coursework. ^_^
D6/21 "A set of literary or artistic principles or assumptions on which a creative work is based"
first d6/21 is plural of first d5/12
third d5/12 like the first but with a different double letter
Thank you all!
Any hints on my last d 5/12. I have the two with DOUBLE letters. TIA! :-)
Anyone have any clues for the i or the O?
jo - same as d6 minus the last vowel
Judi, for the i - think of people that make stoopid/silly statements
Jo, all d5/12s have double letters... two are the same except for the last letter
O and then a girls name
Thanks guys!
i5/10 insubstantial or foolish
how many letters is the O, co I have tried many variations of girls names and monkey typing isn't working
Moozey, thank goodness I'm not the only one! ;-)
Moozey, the o has 4 letters. Of
moozey it's an o4.
Ditto, Moozey. I'm not getting the O either. Thought the girl's name was obvious, but not so.
Back again... unBabbleland is biting chunks out of my time today but yell if you need help :) Moozie, of4/10 - sounds like something you could be familiar with :)
think Dunnaway
rhymes with "i'm o---, you're o---"
fmitch - great clue
think of F** Dunaway
Thanks FMITCH!! :-)
o4/10 is our racial slur of the day.
it's actually quite a horrible word
Huh .... never heard of it. I must be sheltered.
sfneil - it might be if you were aware of what it meant but I have to say I didnt until today.
FMitch I am originally from the American south and sadly have heard the word in use. I'm glad that it doesn't seem to be that commonly known.
O is dunaways first name!
Things are just going from good to bad for me today. Hit the wall at 79. Monkey typing is not producing the two Rs. Who's got the stats?
ry 4/8 ry 4/7
I grew up in the south too, but I have never heard that word used. Now, cracker and honky yes.
Thanks, Roncook.
Let's not forget... Redneck!
Judi, both are ry. For one, think of a weird spelling for the peel of a fruit, the other a weird spelling for what a mob out of control does. (easier than defs I hope)
Thanks, Jen. I have both R's now.
when l was a child l had a golliwog but that is not pc now and ni**er brown was a paint?
Golliwog? Sounds like a character from Harry Potter.
roncook - are we showing our age with goliwogs - whas it rupert bear?
golliwog black faced rag doll ,still got a china golliwog mother got it from woolworths in the 1930s

Thanks sf! Now I can find out what I am missing!
tyvm, sfneil... I recall that being a word in the past (well, now I do)...
Why, how nice, mab! Thank you. Actually, I am a chronic insomniac! (But I do like to be helpful.)
Geeze, you guys! Now I'll never be able to get my head out the door!
sfneil is just like his icon! :)))
Me too, Neil. You want some Ambien.
I love this game but am totally useless at it and very word blind, thanks everyone for posting stats or clues, crawled into top 1000 today - yeah !! (hope for me yet !)
Well, Lotti, I'm kind of in the middle of some food tech now but should be okay in time for tomorrow...maybe...I hope...
Kerrina, don't worry... it gets easier the more you play! (And, as you probably already know, it's quite addictive!)
in the RANKINGS WHAT DOES THE NUMBER AFTER OUR NAME MEAN?
mab, thanks for the advice. I tend to shy away from drugs, but I will check out Ambien.
addictive is understatement ...even play in my lunch break at work !!!
At least some Benedryl.
sorry for shouting. baby hit the caps lock key & i didn't notice.
Thanks to all for you help but now I have to go earn my paycheck!
So long, mickie!
Until tomorrow sfneil!
hi all can any one give me a clue to the dy 6/30 cheers
dy6/30 builds on a dy4/8, adding two letters on the end. sounds like what you do when you don't eat out
dy4/8 plus opposite of out!
Woo hoo! Finished! Anyone need a clue before I start working on packing for a trip?
cheers lottijw and sfneil that helped
Congrats, Jen! Where're you going? Somewhere fun, I hope!
Cheers, mu! Glad it helped.
Taking my son to see his GG (great grandma) out in California. Should be fun except for the 6 hour non-stop flight! LOL
46 to go... must take a break Sprite will be home soon & hungry! Hopefully I will make it back in a couple of hours while dinner's cooking...
You`re welcome mu :)
Have a great trip, Jen!
Could I please have a clue for ce 4/6?
ce4/6 is plural of the letter itself
Never mind. I just found it. thought I already had that one.
I'll be rustling up a chicken & bacon risotto in a minute. Does anyone need sustenance or any clues?
at 5/16 at6/27 an 5/10 an5/16 an4/4
at5/16 = a plus a Labour prime minister's 1st name.
at5/16 is lack of normal muscle fitness. it's at5/10 with a different last letter
at6/27 = an archaic form of betwixt.
an5/10 regarding; concerning
an5/16 get one (someone's) nerves
er, "get on"
Hello everyone....just checking to see if I got an icon !
an5/10 means 'regarding, concerning'. Otherwise, imagine someone with a S. African accent talking about an insect that lives in a formicary or a hill and saying, 'Oh look. There's an***'
an4/4 plural of scots for "one"
Looks good, Karys!
Hello Karys. Yes, your icon's there. Ron, I'll leave you in Neil's capable hands. I'm off to make that risotto. TTFN.
Mmmm risotto! See you later, Jacula!

Aw, shucks, jakes-mum! <blushes>
hm...anyone got any random clues they feel like throwing at me? *grovels*
What do you need, Miyavi_fan?
Uh...well, I'm not doing that great so far (ie, am doing spectacularly badly without Anj) so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hmm. do you have ch6/33 that is yummy kind of dairy food?
Miyavi_fan did you find the CH food word? it's a 6/33.
thanks! If I know what you're talking about then I'm eating some right now ^_^
actually there are 2 CH6 words that are the same except for the last letter.
Thanks, Sfneil and Minski...greatly appreciated. One of my fave foods! *drools*
Sfneil are you feeling generous enough to give a list of the G's aswell, i'll be forever endebted to you.
I'm struggling with the he6 and he5 - any clues?
The he5 is a Kings name
go4/6 go4/5 go5/14 go4/5
Does anyone have a clue for the N6-27?
Sfneil if I wasn't married I would give you a big kiss .. oh what the heck KISS!!!!
When something's at its best or in its prime, it's said to be 'having its he6'
Got it, thanks. Sometimes I feel like I need a white cane.
he5 is a unit of inductance, but yes, a king by that name was famous for many wives
ne6/27 is a unit of force, but also someone's name: a famous scientist
Judy 1 ne6/27 = 100,000 dy4/8's
I'm kiinda new to this game and appreciate the clues that come out in the afternoon, makes it easier for a beginner. Thanks again.
ne 6/27 kite flyer nr his apple tree
Miyavi_fan there's also a ch6/42 that is used to describe something that tastes like the ch6/30. it's almost the same except the last letter
Danke shon again! I am already building several small shrines in your honour, you can be sure ^_^
Thanks to all for the N6 clues. Now looking for clues to the T6-36.
is there more than one a6? more than two t6?
Oops, never mind. Just got the T6-36.
tw6/36 builds on the tw5/16 -- add a letter (it's an adjective)
thanks sfneil!
only 1 A6
Okay folks, I'm off to find some lunch! I'll check in later.
Are you there Macadam?
stuck on an 5/16 an 4/4 between an 4/7 &an 5/12 any clues? _
Ah, I am off, my internet dies soon. I've tried reasoning with it, but some computers just won't listen!
See ya Miyavi ...... tomorrow no doubt :)
Ron think irritate!
Can anyone give me a clue for the SH6/36 and I seem to be missing an S4/7 aswell
reposting: da4/8 da4/5 da4/ 5 da4/8 de4/5 de4/8 do4/5 do4/9 do4/5 do4/5 do5/12 do6/21 do5/12 do5/12 do 6/21 do7/32 dy4/8 dy4/8 dy 6/30 dy5/18
sh6/36 Mr..... polish add y
Jakes mum could your s4 be a "view" without the letter c :)
Ok, I'm willing to admit to all kinds of ignorance. Any clue on the O4? There's a slice of "Elvis' Favorite Pound Cake" in it....
it's a disparaging term for a white person
CSA rhymes with okay! Jakes mum ignore the last clue thats a 4/4 do you know 2nd letter?
its of 4/10 - think of Ms Dunaway. (many thanx to Anj for his earlier clue which I have just blatantly plagirised here in order to shower myself with glory).
as someone said earlier: o plus first name of first leading lady in King Kong
Ahhhhh. Thanks to all. (Never heard of it myself - I take it it's not an Americanism?)
I`ve never heard of it either:]
I read the dictionary.com definition, which is very interesting. The things I learn here!
any help with the dy6/30?
fit1 - think of a dead german #9
Dy6/30 - "An ATPase associated with motile structures, especially the microtubules." As someone else said earlier, sounds like when you don't go out to eat.
dy4/8 add in
fit1, dy6/36 builds on a dy4/8. sounds like what you do when you don't eat out.
Any clues for the AT6/27 and are there any more Sh6/36 cos I got the polish one
sorry that's dy6/30 not dy6/36!
thanks for the clues. I got a chuckle from the last one, but it gave me the answer. Thanks so much :)
down to 2 left - are there really 3 x ey4/7 and 2 x sy4/7?
Yes dachef
At6/27 - an old way of saying betwixt & __________.
Thank you CSA
Yes Jakes mum, rhymes wiyh granny :)
There are 2 Sh6/36's....
sh4/7 didn't think they allowed swear words!!
OOOps I meant "with"
I didn't either bearsmum! :-)
Can't get ed 4/8, any help appreciated!
looking for cloos for s6 36, I have the lustrous one
lotti, gotta say, loving your icon. Any help with my last sy? I have the one that sounds like the French river....
ed4/8 is plural of an old letter used in Old English, Old Saxon, and modern Icelandic. standard plural ending
The only A word I am missing is the A6/27. Can I have a hint please?
Ed4/8 - sounds like more than one talking horse (is a horse, of course, of course, unless it's .....)
Moozey, have a beer and lemonade, but make the d an n ...:)
dachef swap the same letters round and thankyou ;)
ty Chessy Minkski it is A t5/16
that should have read ... Minski it is A t5/16
Any hints on the dy 5/18?
why isn't it accepting the plus sign???
lotti - tried that and it wont accept it. I have tried every combination on the board. Im getting a feeling that something somewhere has started to go horribly wrong. Either that or Im just a bit thick.
dy5/18 = plural of dy4/8
dy 4/8 pluralized
Grrrr .. thanks mtn & sfneil. I hate it when I miss plurals!
it's verrrrrry slow this evening!
Dachef the other sy is sy5/18: a council of church officials. there are only 2 sy's: a 4 and a 5. There is a sn4 that is similar to the sy5, but with letters slightly rearranged.
Need help on h6/48... it is a compound word??
arrgh... i mean the sn4 is similar to the sy4, not the sy5
Anyone got a clue to the NO6/30 and the last 2 S4/7's in the list?
cheers - Im getting myself all confused. I thought there were 2 x sy4. As this is my last word it means Ive missed one somewhere else. Bugger.
Jera he6/48: when something's in its prime it's said to be enjoying its he6/48. it is a compound word, or at least looks like one.
Dachef, do you have the sn4/7?? same letters as sy4/7
Only need the NO6/30 Now anyone PLEASE!!!???!!!
I do now! Thanks sfneil - thats another one down! Two in a row, Im on a roll!
Yay! Congrats, Dachef!
jakes-mum, no 6/30 is a French swimming pool (apparently). Its also when you say no to another poem.
no 6/30 is the french for drowning trust me
how many words are there today?
jakes-mum, no6 is probably the most obscure word in the grid, and the hardest to describe. Think what you might say to someone who was not allowed to have a precious green stone from asia: You might say, "No ---- for you!" If you put in a 'y' instead of a 'j', well, there's your no6. Hope that helps a bit.
132 tonyv
Thanx sfneil - great description, got it straightway ..)
thats brilliant sfneil
still stuck on this an 5/10 "which irritates"
Yay finally........ 132 words, 1921 points. :o) See you tomorrow.

Missing an 'n'. I have: na x 2 ne x 3 no x 2
torgone: Another no

thanks feel stupid now just have the S, O, N to go. 15 words left
torgone, you're probably missing the no6
Thanks, elmer. Correct, sfneil.
If so, here's a reprise of a clue I gave a while ago that seemed to help some people: no6 is probably the most obscure word in the grid, and the hardest to describe. Think what you might say to someone who was not allowed to have a precious green stone from asia: You might say, "No ---- for you!" If you put in a 'y' instead of a 'j', well, there's your no6. Hope that helps a bit.
wow great clue sfneil...thanks
yw stillcrazy!
could anyone give me a clues on the ne I am missing? I have ne 4x4, ne4/7
Is there a clue for the O please?

4 to go and stuck! na 4/4 ne 4/4 do 6/21 and do 7/32 If I can get these this will be my first one completely finished!
SH 6/26 -- speaking of offensive terms....
na 4/4 Shorten the name of the dog in Peter Pan and make it possessive.
Munner thanks, 1 down 3 to go!
JaxH, do 6/21 Think of the first name of the host of Pyramid. Make it possessive with an alternate spelling.
ne 4/4 hawaiian goose - should be "google"able
anyone have help for an7/44 and an8/60?
a7 and a8 is plural - build on the dy4/8 - relieves pain
thnx trif589
Thx. trif, I've been hunting those two for hours.
Hi tonight. An 7-44 & 860 relieves pain
I've been playing Babble for about 3 weeks, but have never finished a puzzle. I am way ahead of my "usual goal" which is to get half the words, half the points, and three complete letter groups. Have 105 words today.
Thanx for everyones help. Have just finished my first ever puzzle.
FIREWORKS for Jax!!!
Is there a c 6/36? If so, please send out a clue.
Munner no c6/36. Only c6/33 and c6/42
That's good. I have those two.
Congrats JaxH. It's a great feeling, isn't it?
I've just finished, and have a few minutes before I must go. Can I help anyone out?
Cathy, I need 1 h. I have ha 4 8 ha 4 7 ha 4 10 ha 7 56 he 4 8 he 5 22 he 6 48 hy 5 22
Munner - You're missing an ha 5/16
my last word - he6/48 ("helpme" doesn't work)
dwroehl -- your h6 means "period of greatest popularity or prime". You'll be in your he**** when you get it !
got it! thnx all...
Totally stumped on last do4... I have foolish, stray calf, spanish lady & finished...
Unless of course I've screwed up my list...
Still looking for ha 5/16. Would this be a word I've ever seen or used before?
Jera -- I think it might be the do 4/5. Kind of an alternate spelling for a word you're probably familiar with. Means to rave, or pay lots of attention to something. Hope that helps.
Munner -- probably not a well-used word. Definition says "medieval merchant guild or trade association". I think I found it by "monkey typing" as they say -- just random babbling :)
Yes, forgot to note it was a 5 pointer. I have the one that rhymes with a breakfast cereal...
Munner -- just tried the OneLook Dictionary, and your ha5 is there. If you go to their site and use the reverse dictionary lookup, you can type in the medieval merchant guild and it will give you a list of words. It's right close to the top!
Thanks, Cathy.
How many do4/5's are there? I have 2 already & my list calls for another... is that correct? I hate looking for words that don't exist...
Yes, there are 3 of them
I need one more g. I have go 4 6 go 4 5 go 4 5 Would someone share a clue for the one I'm missing?
go5/14
go 5/14 think of male anatomy
Speedfreak, perfect clue. I had never heard that word until I married my husband some 34 years ago. Was raised with two sisters, then had one daughter and three sons! Lots of go---- in this house.
am back to slog throught the last 29 words...does anyone recall if a second letter list was posted and at what time..... thnks
HELP - I am down to my last H - the HA 7/56 and I saw the clue, but I still cannot see it
I just went through all the chat - no second letter grid yet
what was the clue and I will try to help
thanks cbr how are you today ??
I'm good - I just started since I've had a long day at work - needed some relaxation but I'm not sure this will do it! I've got 77 to go!
cbr the word list is not that bad... some funny ones and some disparaging ones..... all in all not nearly as grueling as the one a few days ago..
Deb, ha 7/56 is a country bumpkin, a compound word.
How are you ? I haven;t played for a couple of days so I missed all the fun
Deb -- Since the clue for the ha7 didn't help, how about this? take an ha4/10 and se 4/5 and combine them, dropping the overlapping letter. Hope that helps!
cbr I am good.... just bumbling and babbling a long...
thx Munner -I was focusing on the wrong side of the puzzle....
the ha is a combination of an ha word (three letter - you have the 4 letter version) and one of your se4s
thx Cathy also
thank you thankyou one less H to go
Well, I hope I can make my through it since I haven't played for couple of days
I'm not used to begging, but...any help with the w words? I have we 4 7 we 5 22 we 4 7 we 5 22 we 4 7 we 4 7
THere is a we 5/16 that is a plural
munner I think a we 5 and we 6

I don't have the 6 yet or I would help you with that one too
WE 6/36 the tiniest of all
Could I possibly get some help with the h's da 4 8 da 4 5 da 4 8 de 4 5 de 4 8 do 4 5 do 4 9 do 4 5 do 4 5 do 5 12 do 6 21 do 7 32 dy 4 8 dy 4 8 dy 6 30 dy 5 18
debluv I would give them gladly if I were finished the dreaded litlte things
Blaze - they are a pill tonight - maybe mine will help you :)
Is the ey/8 a compound word. May I have a clue please?
deb - what do you need in h's?
a deasler or an accountant will wear one of the ey compound word
and usually they are green
perwinkle - yes it is - think of a visor for something
cbr that was a great clue...my babblieez put it all toghether...TNX
go5/14 is in no way a gender-specific word! Ovaries and testes are both examples of this!
doogle - who would have guessed!
Deb -- if I did this right, your list of D's is still missing a da 4/5, do 5/12x2 and a do 6/21
thx Cathy I will work with those
Thanks so much for the clues, found the e/8
thx Cathy - that did it, I am done with the D's
Way to go, Deb. You'll finish this one yet!
only 18 words to go, but I have to give in and go to bed. But I would have liked to get that pesky 'O'.
I need N help I have 2-na x 4 2-nex4 3-no 2x4,1x6
I am right there with you ExWrenn
the O word is suppose to be a slang or disparaging word for whiter person...?? I don't get it either
Blaze - how about I just post the N's na 4 4 na 4 7 ne 4 4 ne 4 7 ne 6 27 no 4 5 no 4 4 no 6 30
An earlier clue for the O word: Think of the actress ______ Dunaway
thank you, thank you, thank you, periwinkle
okay - ExWren you are more awake that I am - I am more confused
Can't find either of the R words, help please
put the o in front of her name
ExWren, NP, glad I was able to help.
think ri but spell ry
thx Ex Wren - how weird is that one?
Thanks, Blaze, found one the the R words, the r/4/7. still looking for the other.
NOW I can say goodnight to you all
ry4/8 ry4/7 both have obscure defs, but if you treat the 'y' as an 'i', the first would be the part of an orange you discard, the second the act of an out-of-control mob.
Need help with an5/10 & at5/16, please...
an5 = about, or concerning
I'm very depressed, just spent last half hour looking for a word I already had (forgot to write it down on worksheet)... *sobs quietly into keyboard*
at5/16 exactly the same as an at5/10 except for the last letter. think adjective cheer up!
if you live in a nice neighborhood - you live in at___ spot
sfneil, thanks so much, found the 2nd R word
Jera an 5/10 in regard to at 5/16 weakness
Well - I finally finished - anyone need help before I go?
Got the at... having trouble with the other...
Congrats, Debluvsmusic!!
Hi Deb - could you leave a second letter list for the t's? I'm still waaaay behind! I should have started last night!
an 5/1o you camp in t*** change t for an
thx sfneil
Jera, are you familiar with Lord of the Rings? an5 could be describing one of the tree-creatures of Middle Earth.
sfneil - love that clue!
Thanks cbr1965!
At last the light dawns... ty, sfneil... you never let me down! :)
Glad to be of help!
Need one more e4... second letter clue, please? I have ec4/9, ed4/8, ey4/7x2... need one more worth 7...

two of them use the same letters, all three mean the same thing
Yay, thanks! 24 words to go!

cbr, t's: ta4/4 ta5/16 to4/5 to5/ 18 to5/18 to6/30 to4/8 to4/5 t o4/4 to5/10 to6/18 to4/7 tw4/7 tw5/16 tw6/36
thanks so much sfneil! sorry for taking so long to thank you - I was talking to my lake house contractor - ugh
no worries... hope they help!
Need help on last e, please... ec5/22... (hope that's right!)
ec5/22 past tense of ec4/9 (i didn't see it either for the longest time!)
May I pleae have a clue for S 6/26, if such a thing exists? I'm more than a little confused.
Yup, was obsessing over the wrong e... tyvm!
mab, no s6/26, but there are 2 sh6/36s. they are quite similar, starting and ending in the same two letters, but one has a double vowel and one a double consonant. one's a fish, the other means glossy
Mab - there is no S6/26. That was somebody mistyping earlier. A 6-letter word has to be divisible by 3.
Thank you Neil, thanks Gre...I mean Doogle.
Oink oink oinkety oink.
I don't understand, Doogle. I meant you look like Gregor Samsa in Kafka's Metamorphosis (sp) these days.
Please explain to me why he5/22 is a valid word??
Sorry, Mab. I've metamorphosed yet again. Please refresh your screen whilst holding down the alt key. :)
Jera - I am the anmial expert but only the farm animals - if you have trouble with the go4 - I can help! Just kidding
sorry misread your clue - I saw hy5/22
He5/22 is a unit of inductance. That's why!
Well now you're making think of George Orwell or Lord of the Flies.
Has brandyjack (or someone) posted the full hint list? I have a discrepancy...
Not yet - I just looked for it
jera... we're waiting with baited breath....!!! lol
ty, Doogle... no idea what that means, but I trust you...
What is the nature of this discrepancy?
My stats say I have 21 words left to find but I have 20 blanks on my list...
Every time I've had that problem it has always ended up being me that was wrong -
If the rate of change of current in a circuit is one ampere per second and the resulting electromotive force is one volt, then the inductance of the circuit is one he5/22.
Oh god, make him stop explaaaaaaaaaaining things!!!!
I'm okay now.
Found the discrepancy problem, btw.
any help for the i...like it's value or definition?
You are "crazy" if you think I would help you with the in word
i dispute that, doogle!! the he5/22 is acutally the name of our consulting psychologist at work!!!!
It's an i5/10. Very common Babble word.
I bet you have a degree in Science, Doogle. Tell us more Mr. Science, pleeeese? Actually, no. I'm sure that factoid will someday save someone's life.
cbr - 'crazy' would be an i6/18, which is not in this game!
okay so I used a loose definition - how about ridiculous or senseless for the in word
Nah, I've got a degree in jazz composition, actually. But I'm extremely good at cutting and pasting. ;)
found it shortly after i posted and read Doogles explanation of HE 5...strange connection! lol
Surrender cbr, Mr. Lord of the Flies knows everything. Divided by three. (ha ha, not serious, kidding)
Now I eat you. Snort snort. Grunt.
could someone list the 7s and 8s? first two letters would be fab... thanks!
HA - funny though - I didn't even think of the other in word that actually means crazy when I gave that clue - I was thinking of crazy like ridiculous so I appreciate the correction - and I bow down to the Oinker!
Doogle, your bloody fish, which is not the slur for a Jew, is driving me in6, which is divisible by three and not in the puzzle.
an7/44 an8/60 do7/32 ey8/75 ha 7/56
Thank you!
My pleasure, ma'am.
thank you doogle
All who seek to find the sh6/36, Must look in every nook and cr6/33*. *not in the puzzle
almost afraid to ask...o?
If you were watching King Kong and the lead actress was about to be taken by King Long you could say O___
o4/10 is, according to some, derived from the pig-latin for one's enemy.
Thank you doogle for the guidance on said bloody fish. Finally got it.
Could I have second letter/word value for w5's & w6's (2 each)... ty!
we5/16 we6/36 we5/22 we5/22
we5/16, we 5/22. we 6 36. we 5/22
Good thing I asked... I had 2 w6's! Tha would have been frustrating... tyvm!
What is point value for yo5, please?
yo 5/25 constanants

Sorry - didn;t mean to jump in - I was working on them so had them handy!
quite alright!
I lost the babble site for a bit....anyone else suffer that.??
Me too
I was... so alone... it was horrrrrrrible!!!
Blaze, i did too.
Yeah - I think the site was down for about 5 minutes. The timer was also saying that there was only 1 minute left before the puzzle closed!
Me too.
I have one word left... I THINK it's a sh4/7... how many are there??
Nooo we don't have a problem LOL LOL
only one sh4/7
There's only one sh4/7. There was a great deal of confusion about this a while back.
Nope, it's a 6 letter word according to my handy-dandy stat chart... help??
only one sh4/7 also: one sn4/7 one sy4/7
sh6/36 maybe?
yes... i'm afraid I created that confusion. Very, very sorry!
So I need info on the s6's... I have the sh6/36
sh 6/36 x2 one is very shiny and the other change the vowel.
sfneil... I'm shocked! You always END confusion!!
se4/5 se5/18 se4/4 se 5/10 se4/4 se5/10 sh4/8 sh 5/18 sh5/24 sh6/36 sh4/7 sh4/1 0 sh 4/8 sh5/16 sh6/36 sh5/18 s n4/7 sy4/7 sy5/18
2 sh6/36s both start and end with the same pairs of letters one has a double vowel, one a double consonant one's a fish and one means glossy
sfneil - I had it but had no idea it was a fish!
Got it thanks... I'm DONE... where's my confetti??
How many words are there all together please?
Jera, mea culpa! I'm as fallible (or more so) as the next guy, I'm afraid!
I'm only missing 1 S word. The 1st SE5/10. Please help!
Hooray!! Congratulations, Jera!!
Minski it is a type of fishing boat....
Yay - you always finish before me - I'm not sure I'mm ake it tonight - I keep getting distracted
first se5/10 is a large fishing net (or a river in Paris)
How about a hint for do6 - not the one to do with the Osmonds
The 'shiny' word is an ethnic slur, although it well may mean shiny too...I'd think wouldn't understand it that way. Neil, is the o word a strongly derogatory term? I've never heard it.
or a river in Winnipeg... but then, only Winnipeggers would know that one! ;o)
similar word double the constants
Can I help you, cbr? You've done for me in the past...
duh - I had the do7 - thanks!
I have both do 6/21 I have one do 5/12 any clues to the second one ??
cbd depending which do6/21 you have, either drop one of the double consonants and pluralize, or drop the plural and double the consonant
sfneil... don't say things like that (you're fallible)... I prefer to think of you as superman!
I really need t's because I haven't gotten there yet - may just a couple of clues for hard ones? I have 38 to go
er, "cbr..."
GOT IT NOW ON TO THE E H AND O only 9 words left to go
blaze, three do5/12s all start with the same first three letters, two are one letter apart (the last)
LMK what you need & I'll do my best... kids fell asleep, poor motherless things...
thanks sfneil
You've heard of football widows? I have Babble orphans...
I have a couple of those too! How about I get a little help so I can grey out my h's and n's - here are the h's I have: Ha4/8 Ha4/7 Ha4/10 H a7/56 He4/8 He5/22 He6/48 Hy5/22
Here are my n's
Na4/4 Ne4/7 No4/5 No6/30
THanks everyone. Finished with the Ss. On to the Ns. My last letter. Wish me luck.

cbr - Ne6/27 - think Sir Issac.
na4/7... think negative plural
ne4/4 = Hawaiian goose
man - I'm getting the hard ones and missing the easy ones - as I always say "it's the four letter words that get me"
Some of the little words can be extremely weird...
the hawaiian goose is always a crossword clue but I think starting late has gone to my head
I think all you need now is the no4/4... italian night
got it and my n's are blanked - thanks very much to all!
Yay, cbr.. how many left now?
go, cbr!
you don't want to know - 28
ah, plenty of time!
Do you want a list & some peace or shall we keep encouraging you??
I have 9 words left the 6 E's 1 H and the awful O that I can not get monkey typed rite....LOL
I want you to go do something fun and come back to help me in about 30 minutes so I can get through the t's! I don't want to get the answer to everything but there are certain words I'm not getting
The King Kong was the best O clue I heard...
How about this - what does Buckwheat on Saturday night live always say O___ and change the t to an f
Jera I keep trying to put the o on for the f but to now avail
Blaze - O4 - think Dunnaway.
Good one, cbr...
blaze, i ask "how're you doin'" but you have a speech impediment where you always say 'f' for 'k'. You say, "I'm o----, thanks!"
I think I'm just starting to get silly - sometimes it's more fun to give the clues than find the words - although you have to have the words to give the clues!
Hi Ho HI HO I got the O off for some reality time
Yay, Blaze!! I'm gonna go watch a Lost episode & then I'll be back... happy Babbling!
any clues for the a7 and a8? I can't find them nohow
Oh yes, cbr... it's always more fun to give help than to need it... well, most of the time, anyway....
I don;t have those yet either
Er, I guess that would actually be: "I'm o---, thanfs!" Technically.
I need help with my last 4 words. NA4/4 NE4/4 NO4/5 NO4/4 Please help. Only 1 hour to go!
found NO4/4 still missing other 3
fit1, they start off like the an5/12, and end up like the dy4/8 and dy5/18
thanks fneil
Don't panic, Minski! Closer to 2 hours. ne4/4 is the Hawaiian state bird, a kind of goose native to the islands
na 4: multiple grandmums. ne 4: Hawaiian goose. You've got the letters already, just repeat.
NA4/4 - what you call a couple of grannies.
Hey SF, thanks. I got them. :)
Yay!
thanks guys 1 more left NO4/5
cbr- means soothing or pain relieving. Don't forget sing. and pl.

Oh, by the way, thanks to everyone who has helped me today.
LAST 2 words an E and an H Help with the missing please I have 3 - ec 4 - ey I have 5-ha 2- he 1 - hy
Plural of DO5/12
Huzzah, Minski!! Congratulations!!
how about a hint for the sn4
You're missing an ED4/8
Blaze you need ed4 an old Norse or modern Scandinavian letter -- plural
ibd: french, means phil. behind body of work. two sets of double letters. sounds like a man's name.
Blaze - ec5/22 and ec5/20 go past tense and plural of you ec4.
sn4 = sy4 invert the middle letters
Take the SY4/7 and switch the middle 2 letters. I don't even know what it means. No definition.
thank you all for your help...i have 130, and outta time. thanks again.
got it - thanks!
I'm down to 23
ibd you only need two more!
Sn4/7 - a side channel in a river or creek. Not sure why the dictionary the word list links to is so incomplete, as it's clearly not the one that the game uses to determine what is or is not a word.
keep going cbr... I'm just hanging around for the new puzzle, so shoot with questions... (of course, I'll be putzing around the house, too, but will check in)
My hero (swoon)
I've wondered that, too, Doogle! answers.com seems to have more (but not all) of the words.
I'm in Massachusetts. When does the new grid start? Is it midnight Eastern time or Central time?
1:00 am eastern time
Doogle: you have an unusual affinity for apparently dismembered heads. Does your sweetie know about this?
Thanks CBR. I guess I didn't have to rush after all. But I thank everyone for their assistance anyhow.
Nighty-night all. Baby will get me up bright and early in the morning.
'Night
Mab - I know! I've been shopping around for a new neck for a while, but no luck so far. Any suggestions?
Night Minsk!
cbr are you hanging in for a while, or were you signing off, too? I'm still around (off and on) if you need clues.
I'm still here and getting closer - down to 12
I don't have either ta - any clues for those?
ta4/4 is what someone does when they hang out on the beach on a towel
ta5 builds off of that and rhymes with "Plan Z"
I hate to admit I actually spent time and didn't find it
Thanks - down to 10!
woot!
now 7
go!
hey sfneil - how about a clue for the at6/27 and the dy6/30, pretty please? I'm down to 5 now
cbr dy add in I need a clue for the He 6/48
cbr - take your dy4/6 and add the opposite of out.
I'm also missing an e - can you tell me what it is? Here's what I have: ec4/9 ec5/20 ec5/22 ed4/8 ey4/7 e y4/7 ey8/75
cbr ey 4/7
cbr past tense of your ec4... i couldn't find that one either!
I searched for that word because I felt sure it was in that series but never would have put that on the end! THanks much!
oh crap that's a lie will take a closer look
Whatever e list I was working from must be missing one because my e still didn't blank out
blaze is right -- 3 ey4/7s
Blaze - an older woman might reflect saying " When I was in my H----- I was really something".
got it - thanks!
yes blaze something in its prime or glory. Also sounds as if you were greeting the dawn.
Yes siree I am donne ... off to do the puzzle tree dance....cbr do you need help with the E's ??
I'm on your heels Blaze - 2 to go!
Hooray, Blaze!
C'mon, cbr!
cbr, whidh two?
at6/27 and the last f word (I have f4/11 and f4/7) but I don't know what the second letter is for it
if you have child under 13 you have at****
Wow, sounds like you guys have been doing just fine without me!
5/18 fa derogitory remark to a femine male
No way that is a real word! THanks - never would have found it - I'm about to resort to a2z wordfinder! Maybe not - one word left!
F5/18 - slang for a smoke plus another word for have.
at6/27: an old way of saying "betwixt and bet----" I guess they figured out it was more appropriate to start it with a letter that was not the first in the alphabet!
Awesome! You guys are great - I thought I wouldn't finish tonight - I appreciate it very much! Let me know if I can ever help any of you!
Right on, cbr!!! You rock!!
Yay! Confetti for cbr!!
cbr .... undoubtably we will be together again soon....
I think the O word won the "no way is that a real word" award for today... at least in this country... may be more common elsewhere
I am providing fireworks for us tonight LOL
So has everyone here finished??
I'm currently doing a jig around my quiet house! Not a pretty sight!
Party at the Babble house!!! Wooooo!
see you guys tomorrow - same bat time - sasme bat place!
Bam!!! Pow!!!
Seriously, Dr God should have some sort of something when you finsih... if you don't have pro, you'd never know you're done! Even if it's just something blinking, you know?
Makes me ready to take on the next Riddle(r)!
heh
I think he is working on it - I saw a post a couple of days ago about it
I must be the only one not to have finished this puzzle..sigh
I came back to help... what do you need lianakate??
lianakate, still an hour left!
we're her for you girl - what do you need?
i need too many... :(
pick a letter, any letter
toss some out, we'll knock 'em down!
D..i need 36 words yet..I have had a really busy day..
send what you have and I'll work on the rest
you guys are so great!!
lianakate ... you are NOT the only nonfinisher. I still have 59 words to go... blech.
I had boatloads of help so I feel the need to pay it forward!
darleen - who is your icon?
i have 13 d's
heh heh. Like that? It's Nathan Fillion in the role of Captain Mal Reynolds from the upcoming movie "Serenity." did you ever watch Firefly? It was as brief as its namesake... but was it great!
I feel the same way, cbr...
Here are the d's which do you have: da4/8 da4/5 da4/5 da 4/8 de4/5 de4/8 do4/5 do4/ 9 do4/5 do4/5 do5/12 do6/2 1 do5/12 do5/12 do 6/21 do7/32 dy4/8 dy4/8 dy 6/30 dy5/18 da4/8 da4/5 da4/5 da4/8 de4/5 de4/8 do4/5 d o4/9 do4/5 do4/5 do5/12 do 6/21 do5/12 do5/12 do 6/21 do7/32 dy4/8 dy4/8 dy 6/30 dy5/18
If you're missing the no6, here's a (re)reprise of a clue I gave a while ago that seemed to help some people: no6 is probably the most obscure word in the grid, and the hardest to describe. Think what you might say to someone who was not allowed to have a precious green stone from asia: You might say, "No ---- for you!" If you put in a 'y' instead of a 'j', well, there's your no6. Hope that helps a bit.
Love it - if you like Joss Whedon you will love my icon, Veronica Mars! Best show on TV
sorry those posted twice
I haven't watched it yet .. .keep meaning to but manage to miss it. I'll make a point of catching it! Thanks...
Speaking of Joss Wheedon, is everybody as psyched about "Serenity" as I am?
noyade = A drowning of many persons at once, -- a method of execution practiced at Nantes in France during the Reign of Terror, by Jean Baptiste Carrier. No offense sfneil... I just found that fascinating & felt the need to share...
CAN'T WAIT!!
Can't wait only a few more days ! I will reiterate though - Joss WHedon loves Veronica Mars and calls it one of the five best tv shows ever - if you aren;'t watching it, you should be
Darleen: ME EITHER!!! Jera: No offense taken at all.
believe it or not ..i had that one, ..french word for drowning...You know..every time i try to write the d's down..the board shifts and I lose my place...
Unfortunately, my TV committed seppuku, so I've never seen VM!
Of course, I almost stroked out when aglet was one of the words last week... I'm easily amused, I guess...
d's: da4/8 da4/5 da4/5 da4/8 de4/5 de4/8 do4/5 do4/9 do4/5 do4/5 do5/12 do6/21 do5/12 do 5/12 do6/21 do7/32 dy4/8 dy4/8 dy6/30 dy5/18
lianakate - copy them into word so you can see them easier - then copy your d's underneath and compare
LOL sfneil ... my tv should do that. On second thought.. I'm in LOVE with BAttlestar Gallactica and would be lost if I couldn't watch it!
I love that one too! I'm an insomniac and used to watch hours of tv (or read multiple books) - now I play Babble
I don't watch much live TV... I watch a few soaps & kids' shows, I like dvd's & history specials... loved the recent Rome week on history channel!
Yeah. Babble has sort of taken over my life.
thanks, CB..I think i am too tired to continue..I have been up running since 5 this morning...youre a really nice girl..thanks to all of you..
Oh Jera, have you been watching ROME on hbo? It is GREAT!
I heard that Rome thing was pretty cool. Yes, Babble is the new TV in my house!
Jera - you and my husband would get along well - that is what he watches too - I like the dramas on FX and HBO too
We don't get the premium channels, so no T&A on the Apian here... History channel was raunchy enough, LOL!
Jera - Yep, it's fascinating. I agree. But please don't post actual words while the puzzle's still active!
am not much of a tv watcher..but sometimes when I cant sleep I like to watch law and order..
Raunchy. Yes, the HBO series is that and more... gotta love those randy romans.
I like that too - seen 'em all - did you get a fix on your d's yet?
Fortunately during the bit-torrent days I was able to collect the entire Firefly series... never get tired of watching them.
Oh, I'm sooooo sorry!! I'm usually so careful not to do that, please accept my apologies! Giving the answer with the clue... DUH!
my sister has them too - I love Joss Whedon - dialogue is great
Jera, don't be embarrassed... there seems to be a streak of that going around!
CB..i posted abot veing 5to tired...with a thank you..:) am of to the land of nod..(i hope)
And the characters ROCK! So well-written and acted!
we'll miss you - come back tomorrow and we'll get it done
Maybe I should do the same... or should I stay up another hour & start on the NEW PUZZLE??!!
I was so bummed when it got cancelled - almost had a Buffy replacement for awhile - VM is very similar in dialogue and character development though
I BOUGHT the dvds. SF channel is rerunning the series (and I keep hoping they'll pick it up). Just saw Our Mrs. Reynolds and howled at the dialog. Joss is a great writer, isn't he?
liana... "tomorrow is another day!" have a good night, and see you tomorrow!
I'm debating but might stay for a short while - I seem to do better if I start earlier
Well, if you guys give it thumbs up, I'll put it on my Netflix queue... Intot he West comes out next month, I believe...
I just admire the fact that the whole Firefly crew seemed to have said to the studio, "We're NOT going to do it your way, we'll go off and make movies!"
Firefly is one of the BEST sf shows around. The juxtaposition of space opera and horse opera with a little Chinese cursing thrown in is just mind blowing...
I know and it looks great - Tivo has had a promo of it running all week on Tivo Central
lianakate, are you still here? I looooove Law & Order!
Heh. Just Netflixxed it myself based on you all's recommendation!
oooh enjoy!
You won't be sorry.
Now are we talking Firefly or Rome now?
Firefly. Rome is currently running on hbo
Only Firefly (and Serenity) from me... haven't seen Rome (but plan to).
Okay... I know nothing about Firefly... educate me if you will...
Set almost 500 years in the future, this short-lived but much-loved TV series follows the adventures of the ragtag crew (Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, Alan Tudyk and others) of the transport spaceship Serenity. No job is too small, too dirty or too close to the line of illegality for the crew to tackle to remain fed and fueled. But when a passenger is wanted by the ruling Alliance regime, the Firefly must hide out the dangerous fringes of space.
by the way - saw Alan Tudyk in Spamalot in New York and he was great
Wow, cbr, that was fast. Do you have that memorized? ;-)
No - I decided to Netflix it too and had the description pulled up already
Alan has the BEST comic timing... he was fabulous in 28 days and Ithought he stole the show in A Knight's Tale ... JMHO
No one that knows me can believe that A Knight's Tale is one of my favorite movies - so cheesy but I love it
Jera, Firefly is great near-future sci-fi... after some kind of mega-power alliance between the western powers and China, there was a huge space-war, with an evil(?) alliance winning. The Firefly is a small 'underground' transport finding what work it can in the 'outer regions', with an intrepid crew and one passenger who has been tampered with by the ruling forces. Great drama, writing and acting!
Oh I didn't think AKT was cheesey at ALL!! I loved the way they moved between period and present with the music.
cbr, we just watched a Knight's Tale last night for the 87th time... the ending always makes me cry!!
I thought the cast was great too - love Paul Bettany
I was looking at Firefly in Netflix... it's associated with babylon 5 & Farscape.. would you concur?
Yeah, but Alan was just the best. It's HIM I remember most.
Me too - I went to check on my lake house a couple of weeks ago and took that movie as my entertainment for the night I was there - my kids love it too
It's far better than Babylon 5 and nothing, but nothing, compares to Farscape. It's in a class by itself.
Jera, I don't know Farscape and have only seen a few episodes of Babylon 5, but I'd have to say it's far better than B%, even though I found those episodes entertaining.
I adore Paul Bettany!! Not physically attractive, but his presence makes me swoon! Of course i love a man of words...
er, "far better than B5"
sfneil - you would love Farscape too
sfneil... YOU HAVE GOT TO WATCH FARSCAPE! It is just awesome...
Have you seen where the Farscape characters are on Stargate SG-1? That almost made me watch...
Next to Mal, my 2nd big "character crush" is D'Argo.
Darleen, I've never even heard of it! Currently broadcast, I assume? (It's been several months since I've had any kind of TV.)
Jera - does Wimbledon make you cry too - I bought that DVD and I rarely buy anything - although I pre-bought Veronica Mars Season One already
Yeah Jera but Claudia wasn't on long enough. It was the actors, though, not the characters. And Ben's on permanently.
Farscape is awesome... a family joke when someone's getting out of hand... "Don't make me have to tongue you!!"
I don't watch SG-I anymore but hadn;t seen that Farscape characters were crossing into it
My baby brother (who just shipped out to Iraq) looks just like Ben browder... it's uncanny...
neil... it ran for 4 seasons on SciFi. I was barely aware of it. Then I ran through Star Trek on netflix and was hunting for something else to watch... the rest is history. I fell so hard for the show that by the 5th disc in the first season I bought the entire series. And I do NOT buy tv shows!
Okay, Farscape is definitely on the list, now. But nothing can stop me from anticipating the release of Serenity!
Jera, positive thoughts for your brother.
I've never bought a tv show until VM for myself but gave my sister Farscape for her birthday last month
Well, Serenity is going to be SO good ... I'm on pins and needles waiting...
Definitely, Jera... best wishes for his safe return!
Best wishes from me too
ty Darleen... he's already sent me an e-mail saying he's waiting for his Girl Scout cookies!! I'm a GS leader & my troops always has several adopted soldiers we send care packages to...
From what I can tell (and I hound their website) Serenity is going to effin' ROCK!
I bought 40 boxes this year and donated them all to the troops
Good for you! I was a scout way back when... still have my badges and everything.
the coolsest thing they are doing now is Hope of Iraq... one of the soldiers started a thing to collect school supplies & toys for the kids... Sprite (my daughter) never keeps her Happy Meal toys anymore, they go stright into the HoI donation box!
That's a great idea - my kids don't care anything about those toys anymore
I'm glad you were able to make sense of that last bit, LOL
i just got on the game, any clues for the two 8's, don't have time to read the whole log
There's a new puzzle in about 30 minutes, onyx, you may want to just wait?
onyx, there's an ey8 that is a compound word... a kind of visor worn to keep bright light away from the visual organs
yeah i know but i like to try even if only for half an hour, i don't have much time to play so i kind of race myself. how many words can i come up with in x number of minutes.
the other 8 is an an8, plural of an an7 meaning relaxing, or relieving of pain
Come to think of it, that's often the most fun part... the 1st 30 minutes or so when you can find so many words before they get so tough!
for clarity an8 is an adjective, not a gerund
cant believe i didn't see that e8 guess i never thought of it as one word, thanks for the hints.
for further clarity (and hopefully not further obscurity) an8 is a plural adjective noun, of the an7 that is an adjective
10 minutes until the new puzzle - please don't let it be a long one -
thanks sfneil got em!
id i start a new puzzle i'm likely to stay up half the night.
great onyx! on to the 7s, I assume? there's a great ha7, also a compound, meaning "yokel"
I limit myself to an hour when I start a puzzle as soon as it comes up...
me too or I would never get any sleep and wouldn;t be able to get up for work
Fortunately, my job has flexible hours!
yeah, easier said than done, i just want to get one more word.....
Hi everyone!
I have to get up at 7, but I can go back to bed at 8:30... unless, of course, I start Babble-ing again, LOL!
How about sir isaac Ne____
