hello...une...what's up???
why not girlfriday?
Wrong box, I guess.
didn't mean to--sorry
Hi everyone! Oh freebies again today! *wink wink*
F7/52
I hate to start playing before the stats are up... there could be 500 words in there!
a7/48
nope only 190
s7/40
They're up - 190.
Ah, I see. Uneaixoise...no prob.
Yeah, I know, it's against my better judgement too. But hey, the deed is done, no way back. ;)
re8/70 OMG DID I GET IT FIRST?!
You did, plurple, well done!
St7/40
yay!!
well done plurple
O5/10: quite persistent word in the last few grids, isn't it?
yes it is, sprite! kind of wish I were at one now...
Er... alright, me too, but WITH working laptop :)
hehe thanks <3
This "Error connecting to the chatlog", does that happen to all of you or is it just me?
f6/36 and j4/14
theres something wrong tonight...very slow...keep needing to refresh
sprite, i've seen it before, but it hasn't happened tonight
Sprite - it's happened to me on occasion. I just refresh.
c7/56 no trouble here tonight
Hugs, I refreshed too and got the "website not available or something wrong with your browser" page. About the 3rd of 4th time since I went pro :(
s7/52
Sprite, what browser are you using?
At least the fishy part is accounted for today :)
and all its little friends..lol
Krys10: IE
Darn... no way to combine St5/10 with C4/6... wouldn't that have been lovely.
if no one has posted the r8/70... um, r8/70!
i did sfneil ;) i got lucky... haha
plurple beat you to it, sfneil ;)
oh crap. plurple got it. carry on.
yes that would've been nice sprite...i keep seeing christmas...
c6/33
m8/65
Good one, hugabugs!
:o) Thanks Sprite
Must get son ready to go to school, back later!
s6/39
Hugabugs you mean m8/75!
no, mine is m8/65
Oh, haha must be two m8's then!
w6/36
humbug... my biggest m is a 6... bah!
w6/36 and w6/27
Ok I got the 65 one... yeah there's two.
hi, dr god? i'm getting a weird error where some words show up in my list with blank point values, and then the total reads "NaN" - i can re-add those words, but there are still blank values in the right-most column for the original words...
Yep, just got the other one!
r8/70
leo - is that the cleaning one?
got the m75... should have known... they play outside my house every weekend!
Yes it is
sfneil...thanks for the great clue...8-/
my pleasure, baggo... still at a loss for the m65, tho
Neil - there's not even a def for it
yeah me either yet...
m8/65 is archaic type fens
Wow, I already have more than I got all day yesterday, LOL!
Unless it has something to do with a former talk show host, I haven't found it either. (a long time ago)
wtg jera...see told you a new day would come.
I figured out letters or has that been posted already (as in, there are 21 A words)...
Not yet Jera
Shall I do the honors or is it too soon for clues like that?
s7/64 and s9/108 (sprites clue at 1217)
Now I'm obsessed by the m65!
I don't think it's too early for the stats.
Neil - take your fen - add a vowel and pl it
Oh goody, never been this organized before...
add the vowel near the middle.
ty hugabugs...neil it's there...
A -- 21 C -- 18 E -- 2 F --13 H -- 4 I -- 3 J -- 5 M -- 17 O -- 4 R -- 22 S -- 55 T -- 13 W -- 13
i am so not seeing it!
the fen we're talking about is an m5/20, right?
I'm a real Babbler now! :))) (hope I didn't crew that up)
Neil - combine Mom and those that come from Ireland
Miraculously, I got it too. And Hugs's.
Neil - yes that one
Think campfire treats
sfneil, its an old form for that m5 word...
(sorry, that hint was for the m5)
think of what they call all the towns or areas in louisiana and change the first vowel to an m
You might think of a bad experience as night--------.
I have that m6/33, but isn't there a m65?
Oh - too obvious. I hope I didnt run it for you, Neil.
m8/65 Pl your 6
Neil - pl that one
Ahem.... pluralize properly please.
What an ordeal! Thanks, everyone!! Sorry for being so thick!
Lol, this is almost overkill :)
YAY - You got it!
sprite did you have the s9 when you gave your clue?
man... I'll be sitting in the back of the room for the rest of the puzzle.
You're never 'thick' sfneil. Don't say that about yourself.
No baggo, my 'clue' was for the F4/10 :D
well it helped me get the 9
Actually think you are quite bright, sfneil.
We may as well get all the seafood out in the open at once.
sfneil, i don't think you are thick at all, very bright indeed...
There is far too much self-browbeating on this chat log, I think.
thanks everyone. that was really embarassing to have to be hand-held through that one, though... my face is burning!
s7/52 x 2
er, "embarrassing"
Awww Neil - don't worry about it. We had fun helping ya! We all have blinders on at one point.
Right mab, let's face it: anyone playing this game must be at least a bit intelligent. And stupid, of course ;)
Good day/evening all! Nice looking grid.
Oh, sfneil! You needn't feel that way. This from one who really does need handholding.
I really think it is everyone's willingness to help eachother through blonde moments like that (and we all have them, neil!) that makes this site so much fun to play at.
we've all been there...and there are always going to be those words we never see...don't go gettin all red...
Hi melissa, it is! Dig in, room enough.
i agree sprite...just one big happy family...;-)
Here's a for instance of a blinder moment: I'm reviewing clues, and haven't the slightest idea who plays outside your house for that m8, sfneil, even though the lightbulb obviously went on for several others. Also, I want this puzzle to take Marist in the worst way, even though it's capped!
I'm bummed fest & Irish aren't valid...
melissamay, for the m8 players outside my house... I live in a neighborhood of San Francisco with a very high Mexican population...
Whoa, I guess it's an m7. It helps to start by reading the clue properly, I suppose ;)
I was embarrassed yesterday for not being able to find the 'cassino' thing, with the alt. spelling so obvious in the def of 'casino'. :D And that isn't the worst of my blind spots either.
Thank you Jera for the stats!
My pleasure!!
sfneil - you can't feel anywhre as think as I did yesterday trying to get the waord acne......even the clue about spots didn't do it for me. Not unitl I was taken by the hand and led in the right direction plus a clue.
I also forgot how to spell and type:)
Di, most of my blank moments seem to center around words starting with vowels, particularly As -- so I'm just thrilled to see a passel in this puzzle!
107 and time for sleep. goodnight Y'ALL.
Excellent m8 clue, sfneil... thanks!
I'm particularly blind to K-words. Always glad when there is no K in the grid.
i think we all need to be led...we all have our moments, i remember a couple months back when sprite (don't know if you remember) but i had to be lead to dr_g's favorite female anatomy part ti...didn't think that they would put that in a puzzle, i was sure they were talking about something else...lol on me...so don't worry bout missing a (fen) when i've got 2 and couldn't fin 'em in the puzzle...
G'night plurple!
sfneil, brilliant clue indeed. Thanks for the bit of hand holding, darling!
nite plurple...sprite you did the leading... 8-/
ok neil i live in the bay area, and i'm the thick one tonight cause i don't get the m8 clue
I have a hard time with words that start with vowels, too... A's are usually my last thing (& not in a dessert-type way)...
I remember. And I certainly didn't think you were thick, baggo, I only was glad I wasn't the only one with blind spots ;)
onyx, if you've ever been to La Rondalla, or other Mexican restaurants with a party atmosphere, these guys come in and serenade you while you're dining.
oh god am i otl!!!
c6/39
but its the fun of asking for help and those that give it, that make me come back to this game day after day...
Me too, baggo. All we can hope for is that we won't all have the same blind spot at the same time, and then all will be solved ;)
a7/28 x2 (don't think they have been posted)
Hello to all.... I am just checking the log before I get my fingers going...great clue to come in on tho....
Agreed, baggo -- I like the people here, the spirit of cooperation that trumps competition. I wouldn't like it nearly so well without the log, that's certain.
Onyx, where in the bay area?
I quite agree. And, even though I really was embarrassed about the whole fen thing, I'm over it now!
mountain view, you?
good sfneil, now you can just sit back and wait for one of us to get the next blind spot...lol
im in grass valley now but I lived up til now in alameda, 45 yrs there
Thanks, baggo! got one of 'em!
and the other! thanks again!
alameda is pretty, had a friend there
I miss the bay area but I can't afford it any longer :(
alameda really is one of the bay area's unknown gems
it is very pretty, the victorians are amazing
"christ" not acceptable as a generic term?
I just wish it were easier to get to from the City without a car.
Not yet Ray, maybe someday :)
I tried it too, Ray, and was also surprised.
There are busses and the ferry but once you get there you need a car.
i wish it wereeasier to get anywhere with ot a car here,
Oh and Ray, there is a nice holy c6/39 to make up for our disappointment :)
Speaking of blindness: anyone who wants to hold my hand and lead me to the S9? Tried all the seafood I know and they just aren't there :(
Whew! Done with the m's!
this seafood uses a tool Sprite
He's a real cutup! ;)
if you took your kids to an aquariam (spelling) they would tell you that they viewed...(those little devils)
sprite, think of a toothy fish whose jaw might make a nice tool.
Shoot, I forgot to use the seafood euphemism -- sorry! Hee.
thanks guys! got 'im!
here you go for proper handholding.. Any of various marine fishes of the genus Pristis, related to the rays and skates and having a bladelike snout with teeth along both sides ....
:D Got them, thanks! It almost jumped out of the grid and bit... errr.... well somethinged me. An illustration of blindness if I ever saw one.
Seeking those a7/28x2 --- can't see anything
Funny, sprite.
both are plurals of a6/18's
Hugs, one is a record label and its plural... other is an upitty-up and his plural
heres the first...A bristlelike part or appendage, such as the awn of grains and grasses or the process near the tip of the antenna of certain flies. and if you get that change the vowel on the end..
Hugs, think of a prefix for a crat that's hoity toity. You need a different vowel at the end each time, and the plurals.
oh such great clues...une why not just postem in the log....lol
Ha, we need to assign turns for clues!
The least obvious clues are the nicest, I think. I particularly like the cryptic ones.
Yes, sorry, I'm not being terribly cryptic today! I'll work on my subtlety...
i like seeing how people's minds work with the different clues...what works for some won't work for others..
Thanks everyone. got em both!
thanks a lot, baggo! couldn't sleep and had just lumbered over to pc to check out new babble and . . . needed to jumpstart brain first :-)
A7/48 (or did I miss it in the log?)
baggo and all.... It's the clues and sharing that make the game....
Sprite - Is that the guru one?
hey how come the name of thegirl that plays in the m8 is allowed in the puzzle????
Baggo, because she's also moony!
Help.... we don't have serenading Mexicans here in rural Lincolnshire. Any more clues on the M8 please?
how come i put in the girl's name earlier and it wouldn't take it?
hey blaze....i totally agree.. see melissamay learn a new word today...well old word new def...lol
There's a Robert Rodriguez film called El M____. (How's that for subtle? Probably not very!)
My trick is to follow the grid and the chat log at the same time....multi tasking...
Blaze - I try to do the same
Paddytt, there's not much more to say! It's the name of a Mexican street band, or the type of music they play.
Hugs: yes, the guru one. Had been mentioned already, I fear.
paddy, don't know anyother def other than a street band in mexico did you see the movie the three amigos? there was one in there that might help
or, the hispanic name for the Mother of God, plus the 22nd letter of the Greek alphabet!
Got it! Thanks sfneil & melissamay
Paddy: for m9, consider the sort of music native to Mexico; guitars, dried gourds. also serapes and sombreros, stereotypically.
For some reason, I am getting enormous pleasure from the phrase, "serenading Mexicans here in rural Lincolnshire." Now I promise to put a sock in it and get back to the puzzle.
okay here is what we have so far....(don't look if you don't want to see) s9/108 m8/75 m8/65 r8/70 a7/28x2 a7/48 c7/ 56x2 f7/52 s7/36 s7/64 s7/ 52x2 s7/40 t7/48
kind of a lovely "it's a small world after all" picture, isn't it, melissamay?
Googled on 'mexican serenade' and the fourth hit presented me with a great songtext :) Never knew that was a mexican song, thought it was some football supporter thing.
sfneil, it's more revenge of the blennies...for all those times we don't understand the Brit clues! Ok, sock, for real now.
oops forgot the last f7/60 and i'm off to google sprites idea...
Won't help, baggo... sorry to be misleading, I just thought I'd share the joke.
I will apologise for all confusing Brit clues.... lol
sprite where near a'dam are you, for I'm near a'dam too?
well sprite your clue was great cause if you go google it there is a picture of the m8 outside someones trailer in the gravel....lol funniest thing i've seen in a long time....
I'm in Zaanstad, Lucky. And you?
talk about "small world"... I graduated high school in the Hague!
paddy don't apolozie...they are usually great clues...
I'm in Blaricum still a little drive away helas...
the lady in the lawnchair takes the prize...you all must go google...
No apologies necessary, Paddy. I think it's fun.
Blaricum isn't that far. Well, nothing is far in Holland, of course ;) Nice to see fellow countrymen! The Hague, Blaze? Also very close.
Please, no offense intended with the Brit stuff...it's actually fairly amusing that I sometimes have to google the *clue*.
Being an American in Blaricum I still cannot see most of the words s9/108 any clues please?
No, that was me sprite! Goeiemorgen!
I think this whole 'thing' is amusing and really great! I love the dialogue between people.
Goeiemorgen, ook voor jou, sfneil. Sorry to get the names mixed up - another blind spot ;)
I have the fondest memories of Holland...
Lucky, Hugabugs had a great clue for the C9: this seafoods uses a tool. He's a real cutup. (and then pluralise).
Movable, trestle type bench that supports the work being cut (but change the mammal to marine life)
sfneil Goedemorgen to you too. Did not forget your Dutch eh?
That clue was for the S 9 I thought...??? I got my S 9 word
Lucky, I can still read, say, a newspaper article, but vocabulary in conversation is sadly hard to come up with.
That's right, Blaze, Lucky asked for the S9. Did you ask for a clue for another word?
No --- I am okay for now.... I think... my fingers are not cooperating with the keyboard tonite.... althoug the t7/48 is interesting ???
i agree blaze...can you imagine going to the drugstore to get some of that to treat fungi???
T7/48: fungicides (yeah, if that's a help)
sfneil we should talk in dutch if it where not for this chatlog .. only sprite would be able to join in
Actually, this log is getting so chatty we should open some irc-channel. And then we could PM eachother in dutch, LOL.
Lucky, I would love that! It is sad to feel I can't communicate in a language I was once (kind of) fluent in. If you want, you can email me (address in my profile). For now though, I'm very sleepy and will have to leave the rest of the puzzle for tomorrow. Goeie avond (goodnight), everyone!
Welterusten, sfneil - dream of holland ;)
Goodnight Neil - sleep well.
I'm all for it but am not into irc chat any clues?
nite sleep tight...don't let the bedbugs bite..
Pleasant dreams, sfneil!
'night neil, sleep well.
Welterusten ook voor jou, Sprite! I hope I do dream of Holland! Goodnight, everyone, and thanks for the help!
Geen enge dromen!! Slaap lekker Neil
Dank u vel, lucky! Tot ziens!
Lucky, irc needs a program like mIRC to chat. If you google on that, you'll find all the info. Good luck!
Well, i tried to hang on until halfway, but I must get some rest with 100 to go... see you again when the sun is on my side of the world!
Sleep well, Jera! I enjoyed playing with you again :)
Nite jera
nite jera...i'm not far behind...pleasant dreams
Sleep well, Jera!
Nite Jera - rest well
well i'm off...time for sleep...happy babbling one and all...i shall return later on if anyone needs help...
have a good one Baggo
Night baggo!
Nites Baggo - see you tomorrow
Thanks sprite i'll google irc chat and let you know. Did not get very far with all the nice chat 57/707 Will be back and upgrade soon. see u all
hello...how many words are there anyone?
190 total words
I m off till morning...see you then...good babbling to all
Night...I think that's it for me too...61 left for tomorrow!
Thanks Hugabugs! 122 left to go..:)
Goodnight Blaze and MM - I'll be following soon too
Goodnight then!
anyone still awake? clues please.....
flerie - I need clues also. Looking for the s7/52 x 2 and the A7/48. Co you have either?
dianne, s7/52 - moves suddenly to avoid something
zoom - I finally got that one now I am hunding the other but I can't find the right combo to give those points or the S7/36.
i have an s6/36, is there an s7/36 as well?
Baggo I also have an F7/60
the s/36 and s/52 .. hmm a clue... to turn in a car violently and its plural .. hope that helps
f7/60 sounds good! do you have a clue for that charlie?
aoom - baggo post a list of biggies at 1:44. It doens't have the F7/60 so that's a new addition. Come on charlie - give up a wee clue for it.
Morning, there is no def for the f7 but the last 3 letters are the same as the mexican players from earlier
have to go & do some chores before work, happy babbling, see you later!
sorry for F7/60 think of a 6 letter word for a complete failure (not in puzzle) --drop last letter and substitue 3 letter Greek letter...clear as muc???
oh fmitch, i'm intrigued with the f7 now, have to stay a little longer!
brilliant clues fmitch & charlie - i can take a break knowing one of the biggies has gone - thanks & good luck!
Bye Zoom
ta charlie, brilliant clue..
morning all, that was a great clue charlie thankyou, can't find a defn for it though
hi all. I must be a total failure -- I can't find the first part of the f7 clue! (not had any sleep tho'. can't sleep).
Charlie & Fmitch - thanks for the great clues. Got that big boy! Still looking for the other S7/52 (not the get outta the way one).
Babbler - think of a little car that starts with F and use the first few letters of that to play with.
the f7/60 is an Italian word, to do with cinema I think
hmmmmm..... little cars and serenading mexicans........... I could be dreaming! : )
f7/60 are those cute wicker wrapped wine bottles
Hi Ferrari, just taken a quick look before i go to work and i`m pleased to see theres a "firmarse" in there...... unlike my own!!!!!!
Hi: Been lurking. Up early to take hubbie to airport. f7/60 is pl. of same word as total failure. According to old Scrabble dictionary, word means a wine bottle.
I like that lotti
wont be able to see anything else all day now
ahaaa!! thank you all, got the f7! Well, got two f7s now....
I keep seeing Christmas.....
me too babbler
See ya later.....if you see Macadam about, tell her i`m working, not at meadowhall shopping!!!! Thanx ttfn :)
I hadnt seen christmas but have a feeling thats *all* Im gonna see now... (gets gingerbread man ready to fling)
will do lotti, Ive got to leave for a bit too, see you later
gingerbread man? for me?? can I have a cup of tea with that?
Its had its head eaten by an two year old and has been well sucked by the baby - Im sure its only good for a food fight, But Ill put the kettle on if you insist!!!
oooooh yeah......... earl grey! taa!
honey or lemon?
ummmm....... just milk, taa. : )
In Earl Grey? You heathen! rotfl
oooh, I know! right pleb, me!
grrrr....can't figure out f7/60...
Talking of drinks - when did they take the beef out of bovril! I tried to make a cup earlier and it was foul - when I looked on the label, its now the same as Marmite - yeast extract only. Thank heavens for co ops own *Beefy* (in similar packaging)
back for another little look - are there 2 f7s? i have the f7/60, anyone know about the other one?
f7/52
don't suppose you'd have a clue for that babbler?
I've not had Bovril since sometime in the 80s I think! They probably made it non-beef during the food scares. (guessing!!)
builds off f5/22
zoom what you do when the error babble comes up then switch it round
Thanks Babbler...got f7/52....still have no idea what f7/60 is... : (
flerie there were some clues for that atound 3.27am
i do lots of things when the error babble comes up - none of them printable!! think i'm being a bit thick about this - my f5/22 goes diagonally through the grid - is this the right f5 to build on?
No, you want the one that is less stale than that ;-)
the f5/22 that I have that builds onto the f7 doesn't go diagonally. Think of fruit, flowers and vegetables and first year people at university minus an r.
zoom go right from the f then up then cicle round the f, ps you ref**** it dont you
Flerie Im stuck along with you.
thank you ferrari & haz - very patient of you - finally got there!
CHRIST-as in christus is not a valid woed.
i'm a "complete failure" in guessing f7/60...my head is spinning already... :(
there's a strong Italian feel to this grid don't you think from a5/10 to some c's and the f7/60, cant see ferrari though
sorry ferrari...still can't figure it out even with the clues...
go left and down, or I will have to CHI de you
sorry I should have said left and down from the f
think little Italian car then lose last letter and carry on down left side of grid
Ta Ferrarri!
Im still looking for serenading mexicans....... the m9. everytime I think I'm close, I'm wrong! any help?
should have said car that isn't a Ferrari , inferior in every aspect! lol
babbler same ending as the f7/60
thanks ferrari...I finally got it... :)
must go, be back later xxx
glad you' ve both got it
Babbler, I think it's an m8, not 9...
thanks again....
granadan & flerie-Excellent clues given by Charlie-3:17am & Diane-3:27am. To begin the word think of what the giant said in Jack & the Beanstalk "Fe, (_ _)..."
YAY just got S9/108
brilliant moozey!
ahaaaa!! finally got the m *8* !!! thx guys!
if you want to share, i won't complain moozey!
there is a s7/64 that is the singular of the s9
it is the plural of the s7/64 two words the first word is you use this implement to cut wood the second part of the word is it swims in the sea
Thanks, Moozey! Got it, finally
Anyone got some clues for the T7/48, S7/36 and the S7/52 (not the getting out of the way one)? Did anyone get all 3 i words? So far only one for me.
thanks for the help - i am soooo impressed by you guys!
t6/33 def: a compound C6H12N2S4 used as a fungicide and the plural will give you the t7/48
well that's me for now, more chores before work - it's a shame there are so many interruptions to babbling- good luck all.
nice clue FMitch...
99 words to go....grrrr :)
my pleasure flerie, I have 88 left but have to stop now, see you all later no doubt!
Fmitch - got it - thanks for the help.
Good morning everyone :)

Gotta love that stats programme, lol! Does make life a lot easier, especially when you are hunting that elusive last word :)
indeed it does :)
Dianne, did you find the S7/36 and the S7/52 (not the getting out of the way one)? I can't see them either. Also only got one 'i'.....
Babbler - haven't had any luck with those two - yet. I'll look more right now.
babbler how do you see? the i's are i5/20, i6/33, i4/4.
i5/20 The sacred dress of Muslim pilgrims, consisting of two lengths of white cotton, one wrapped around the loins, the other thrown over the left shoulder
got an 'i' test later this week, as it happens..... thx for the clues ferrari...... looking for them now...!

Quiet. Spent a few hours on that site you told me about. Found some CJ, been singing "10 seconds" this morning!!!
yes. making my eyes hurt, the way it keeps jumping....
No, my log seems to be behaving at the mo....
no duplications at my end
ooops, not duplicating, but deffo jumping.... like hiccups....
Hi Anj - you you are right, just been reading the log and it has duplicated itself several times!

I'm on Firefox and it's going nuts.
firefox
i'm on firefox - it's not duplicating but it's jumping alot
I'm on IE via AOL. no jumping or duplicating
ok here with firefox 1.0.4
got no jumping on IE
Firefox and its all fine here
Anj, was fine until I did that, then it went a bit nuts posting earlier messages after recent ones and then froze on me! Seems okay now tho'.
got all the a's
:( Just displayed all messages to go fetch the breakdown for katie cat and had to abandon. The log is duplicating everytime it refreshes...
whats the total points for this puzzle?
Ferrari - how about a wee hint on the A7/48?
Could someone please put me out of my misery by giving me clue for the t7. Just can't see it :(
Dianne, its a religious residence
lola think upper leg (1st 3 letters) and male sheep for singular version t6, pl =t7
lola- a fungicide C6 H12 N2 S4
Ferrari - Got it - thanks a lot.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Ooh, like the new icon babe ;)
rish , dont know I've got 140 /2063 so far
Lo, I went to try and buy the CJ album, but the site has an encryption warning which has spooked me a bit :(
please could some1 post the stats
gosh -- don't display all messages..... I just did, after Anj tried, and it was like Babble was drunk or something!!! Soooo weird!!
do you mean these? A -- 21 C -- 18 E -- 2 x F --13 H -- 4 I -- 3 J -- 5 M -- 17 O -- 4 R -- 22 S -- 55 T -- 13 W -- 13
now your'e sorted Anj can you give me another clue for the top e pleeeease
ferrari, it's a shortened term for electromagnetic fields :)
190 words 4-letter words:82 5-letter words:59 6-letter words:32 7-letter words:13 8-letter words:3 9-letter words:1
Were you trying to buy from the CJ site? Try musica.co.za or lookandlisten.co.za, both large music retailers in SA with on-line stores :)
thank you :-)
I've had a real problem with display all messages. Seems to freeze for ages
all my messages are fine
Hmmm...it doesn't accept taser. That's a bit of a shock... *howls with laughter* Sorry, under control again now :)
yes -- that was my warning -- don't display all messages! Anj got stuck getting stats for katiecat, and so did I !
OMG I *love* the 9 letter word!
oh that one, thanks Anj xx
Hiya all. Anj - I just tried to put 'taser' in, too.:-)
hi Jacula !
ferrari, if you display the whole log (hint: DON'T!) you get stuck as every time the log refreshes it's adding about 200 posts and that figure increases every time we add a message. it's not quite exponential but it's going to clog something up sooner or later. I've dropped Dr G a note to say haaayyulllp!
Hi jacula :)
Hi Jacula :) lol
Just keying in the words I've got down a paper, not read log yet. Won't open whole thing up clue-hunting now I've read it's causing probs.
Good morning all
If you don't have Firefox then asking to show all messages results in a quick trip to limboland and having to reboot.
Hi artlady :)
Could someone say what letter the 9 begins with?
everthing stopped working for a minute then your disease must be catching Anj , I was trying to say (about the e) that I cant remember it yet, HI JACULA
Eva, it does if you DO have firefox, trust me on this lol There are just too many messages for it to cope now. Morning artlady :)
I'm on firefox, and I was deep in limboland when I displayed all messages !!! lol ! It was like trying to walk in a world of jelly!!! (or is that just me?)
eva its an s9
sneaking 10 minutes before I have to leave for work...
It's an s9. First word I saw today.
S9/108
sa9/108
Oh. Since I have a mac and don't have firefox it's always like that for me-that's why I'm always asking people for info which was posted earlier because once it's past I can't get it.
perhaps that's why I went odder
showing all the log freezes both my comps..have to do it the slow way "prev 50"...
any clues for the a7/48?
yes , thanks Anj I wont do that again
Thanks Jen and Atalante! A nice wet puzzle for a very wet day here in Vermont. Of course, because the carpenters are coming to install new windows today!
babbler a religious residence
I'm having a severe attack of 'Oops, that was an invalid word' today :'( I've only got 8 words...

hurray, finished the t's

What happened to the heroic Anj of Saturday evening?
Anj, my little love, shall we play our nice game with the big letters till Lola gets back?? eh ??
I'm having a Monday Haz. All that's missing is the 'SPLUT' lol
He's coffeeless & fragile. Poor Anj!
Babbler, thanks :) I've been battling the message log for so long i've forgotten how to enter the d*mn words lol

Thanks beepbeep, got it now.

Babbler, build on your Se4/7
Beep, long wave, what with all these f4/10 about lol Eva, it's the short version of electromagnetic fields :)
Thanks anj! I always breath a sigh of relief when you're around to supplement my feeble brain.
Goooood clues people, Keep 'em coming :)
That se7 is nuts - I just got it thanks to all the f 4 / 10 talk.
Eva, i'm running on peppermint tea today. Seems to be doing the trick for now :)
Are there two c7s? Can anyone confirm for me please?
C7/56 x 2
Maybe I should try it- but not peppermint. Some lemon zinger might do the trick.
there's an f5/16 that's rubbish compared to me there' a distinct Italian feel to this grid, has anyone else noticed?
Oh crumbs, thanks Babbler.
Ferrari, I'd probably say it's a very "pesci" grid actually!
oops, I just realised..... I've only got one c7. Any hints on the other c7/56 please kind people? I've got the c7, plural of c6 (no def).
Good morning everyone... not much sun here, but I'm back anyway (glutton for punishment)...
Hi Jera :)

2 to go... Ri6/27 & the lower right E. Anyone got any clues please?
the E -- what you listen with
I'm using IE and found that if I go back one screen on the chat log to the prev 50, and then <show all messages>, that I don't have any problem scrolling thru to read hints. It seems to kill the auto refresh. Of course I can't see the most recent chat, but that's ok.
The most ri4/7.
Hangs head in shame on the E4 !!!!
Afternoon! Is it no longer possible to see yesterday's words? How are we suppose to learn?
ri6/27 superlative of ri4/7
Got it. Done now. Thanks Lola & Sfneil
Alleyn, click on "View yesterday's puzzle" then click the name of anyone who completed it to see their word list.
Congratulations, Paddytt!
Happy Monday all -- can't see the full chat log -- any help on the 8s?
sfneil - Thanks that's what I used to do but didn't seem to be working but back now.
Ditto, Bugzy. Need full stats list, please. Anyone?

we dont have the wet breeches but he simmers so well i loved it :D
Hi punster :) Finished a while ago, need any help?
Got the ma8 and the re8, need the last. Also stuck on the sa9. Would a prayer be in order ;-)
sa9/108 is plural of sa7/64 -- a type of swimming creature. first part of the word sounds like a tool used to cut wood
sa9: thing you cut wood with and things that swim in the sea :)
A bit more laid back than Cutting Jade. I need to hear some more of their stuff really :) I reckon you're going to love most of the bands in my chart. If you click on 'Show Top Artists' you get to see more than the top 50 :)
great clue sfneil thanks everso :D
Thanks Lola :-) Feel I shoulda got it though..*Sound of muttered oaths*
Is the ma/8 a plural?
Alleyn -- yes, it is
there are 2 ma8s: ma8/75 and ma8/65
thanks for the help, I had to refresh since nothing was showing up. Thanks again.
ma8/65 is plural. ma8/75 is singular.
still thick. Hints alongside, maybe???????????????
ive got the Ma8/65...and hints on the 75?
Okay I know I am going to feel like a complete ar4/4, but I cannot seem to get the e4 in the upper right corner. Help put me out of my misery.
Anj- they are, but I like their sound. I think I'm a bit more acoustic rock than you are! Liked the Subways and jet set satellite :)
punster- there are 2 x ma8, which one have you got?
Cmith -- plural of the band that sang the song "unbelievable"
the subways are from my home town :)
ahh, the M8/75 is a type of mexican band
think of moriarty evandine and change a little
I've finally got the last ma8, and now I finally understand the clues being dropped ;-} Thanxs anyway, Lola.
punster, do u have the 2 ma8's yet...?
Lola, see if you get Leaf Loser by 12 Stones :) If you like Subways and JSS there are a load more recs I can make :D
Thanks babe, will check it out :) Really must go now....see you later :)
I noticed that one of the m8's was the title of one of Robert Rodriguez's other, more adult trilogy (NOT Spy Kids!!!) ;oD
Good day everyone! Back to finish up.
evanadine: Thanks. I will now go and ta5/16 myself and be-sm6/39 myself with as5/16 in abject shame. 190 words at 3348 points

I have 2 on-line tests waiting for me... oh dear, don't think I'll have time for them today, LOL!
munner - re4/7 and it's pl. re6/27
Thanks, Hugabugs. Good thing I don't have to understand the words to get credit for them.
Munner - me either. I don't know what most of them mean. Sure glad we don't get tested for that.
thanks! and yeah, this is definitely my preferred method of procrastination. I try to convince myself that I'm expanding my vocabulary, and thus actually learning...;)
That gives me 21 r's. I think I'm still missing one more?
munner ri5/16, comparative of ri4/7
sfneil, ty, glad to say goodbye to those r's, but now have to face the rest of the s's :(
Yay, finished with the R's!
I'm skipping the S's , is there a t list posted somewhere?
Hey, everyone...back again. Anj, of course I'm not stockpiling weapons! Where would you get an idea like that? *furtively hides A-bomb behind back*
Sorry Munner - I went up to those two re's and quit checking. Me bad! :o(
What, Hugabugs, you mean you're not perfect? Don't burst my bubble!

Aye, anchovies. In a paste! So there... :P Just dab a little bit behind each ear and you will have a whale of a time... *falss about laughing* *again*
Hello, everyone. I'm having a problem with the log - every time that I try to browse beyond the current 50 messages, it freezes up - so would someone be very kind, and let me know today's word count. Thank you!
torgone! where ya been hiding?
still have custard in one ear and jelly in other ear from food fight - must be a trifle deaf ...
Does anyone have the lists for H & I handy? I have listening 2, short version of past (H's) & the flower (I). Thanks!
jrs - 190. The log is duplicating all the entries from about 8 hours ago each time it refreshes. Or so it seems...
Anj, you are quite literally criminally insane. And I mean that in the best possible way. Of course.
That happens to me all the time, jrs... word count is 190

Sure did, lola! Oh wait. You weren't talkin to me....
I always find it amazing that some people get to visit these sites from work.
Thank you, Jera. That means I'm doomed today. No time at work to finish all those, and I'm not home tonight. Oh, well ...
Hahaha...what's it worth, annoying?!
torgone- of course I was! lol!
Of course :) *big hugz*
Any cluez and/ or def. 4 the s7/36 plz... Muchos...
Hugs, I do technical writing and customer service for a machinery manufacturer. I'm in front of a computer ALL DAY.
You don't have to finish to have fun! It's best not to be competative especially at first. Just let your eyes wander over the grid & your brain will pick up on words. It's rather relaxing, actually!
movieman sa 7/36: a person retained in a cathedral to copy out music for the choir, and take care of the books. Find it I hope you will :)
torgone - I was in front of a computer all day at my last job, but Corporate Big Brothers had everything blocked and if we did manage to get by those blocks, we risked losing our internet access for abusing it.
Movieman, take an st8 word (not in the puzzle) meaning a room in a church housing the sacred vessels and vestments; a vestry - and knock off the Y
Anj- listening to some JSS at the mo' and really liking it! Couldn't find leaf loser. Did you know that seether where called saron gas? Found loads of them by using that name :)
My home computer crashed so if I don't Babble at work right now I don't Babble at all - the horror!
You and me both, Hugs :/ ...nasty anti-fun firewall in my old place. The only people having fun were the IT team adding all the urls to the banned list }(
please help me wid dis "miyavi_fan" its worth......................... ........... u going out with rhys f?????? dont you think??????????? lol
Lola, no I didn't...will have to check that out. Hey, if you like Green Day should look for some Allister as well :) Try Radio Player, Racecars, Overrated or Somewhere on Fullerton
Woo! Miyavi's getting fixed up here :)
Anj - Our HR Director got a daily list of every site hit by every user in the branch. One guy lost his job after being there 29 yrs because of it.
I think the nerds are too busy keeping the system running to spend time worrying about internet use. They are probably monitoring, I've never heard of any getting in trouble over it. As long as you don't stray to the naughty side of the internet, I guess...*polishes tin foil halo*
torgone - Not you!!!! ;o)
Need desperate assistance with the s5/22 & s6/36 now prettty plz... I am eternally in your debt...
It's funny - some "non-work" internet sites I've gone to are banned by our firewall - like Victoria's Secret - but most others are OK... So far, that is *crosses fingers* and *Knocks on wood*
movieman - The Taming of the S5
Hugs, we had the same problem, but the decision was left to local managers as if the IT team had got their way the company would have lost 75% of the staff. Mind you, one company over here *who shall remain nameless* found that over 50% of their files were copies of the face of their advertising campaign in a compromising position lol. They had to declare a general amnesty - 5 days to delete or we delete you sort of thing.
how many words do i need 4 2days 1?
Oh, I've been babbling for a month or so. I don't worry too much about those non-words that litter the grid - but it has been nice to occasionally finish. However, not today.
Anj - Wow... that's something else!
Sorry to ask the same question again, but I had to leave and couldn't find my post. Is there a list of t words somewhere?
thanks for the clue hugabugs... I always forget to "circle the wagons"
Besides, in California, you can be "let go" without any kind of reason or justification. They don't have to put any effort into finding a reason to fire someone.
Sheila there was one at 8.54 a.m. if you can get back to that ok...
torgone, if that's the case, how come AHnold is still in office, hmmmm?
Thanks Chessy
Repost from sfneil ta4/9 ta4/4 ta5/16 ta4 /7 ta5/1 6 th4/7 th6/33 th7/48 tr5/14 t r6/24 tr4/6 tr5/14 tw4/7
Desperately seeking a complete and correct stats list. One I have is incorrect.
Hugs, I thought it was an urban myth, but one of their employess came to work for us and confirmed it was true. Torgone, you can't do that over here. HR have that sewn up tight lol
It's very hard to fire anyone here too. You need a file 6" thick and serious charges.
thanks Hugabugs. I just got back from getting the t list and saw yours. If I had waited---patience, patience on my part. :)
Same here. You either resign, or you really need out quick, go and lamp the manager
eh? "lamp" the manager" translation to american, please :-)
Darleen, right hook or b*tch slap, depending on the gender lol
gotcha, thanks!
Here, if you resign or do managed to get fired, then you don't qualify for unemployment insurance.
Oh great, so they've got you coming and going :/
Judi - I think this is right - a - 21 c - 18 e - 2 f - 13 h - 4 i - 3 j - 5 m - 17 o - 4 r - 22 s - 55 t - 17 w - 13
Thanks, Bugzy. You're my hero today.
Yep... it's really hard to collect, unless you get laid off
I thought there were only 13 t's
Need a clue for the last J. I have J4-11x2 and J5-24. What's missing?
Sheila Rae - there are on 13 T's
Whew, scared me for a minutes.
Doh! There are only 13 t's.. So much for being a hero *sighs*
Judi - ji4/13

Right cluesies for the 7s part 1: ar7/28 - plural of a record label that has Maroon 5, Sarah McLachlan, Silvertide, Faithless on their roster (ar6/18 is the singular) ar7/28 - sounds like slang for the upper class french who got the chop during the Revolution. Same as first ar7 but last vowel is different - also gives an ar6/18) as7/48 - usually secluded residences of a religious community and its guru. Sounds like tree plus male sheep (singular is an ar6/33)
suebhoney add a letter to the ma4/6 above it
Thanx Hugabugs... I will conquer those pesky c's!!! sueb - for the 2nd ma5/14, change the last letter of your ma5/20
er, a "different letter"
You're quite welcome, Bugzy!
thanks for the clues anj!
Cluesies for the 7s part II@ ch7/56 - no def - 22nd leter of greek alphabet plus red planet (ch6/39 is the singular) ch7/56 - could be a sacramental annointing (that's the ch6/39) but looks like someone with a magnetic personality or charm less the first a ;) fi7/60 - no def - take your fi4/7 (italian car maker), change the t for an s, and add greek letter no.22 :)
anj, awesome clues.
Thanks, Anj. I are lerned now.
I wouldn't mind if I could remember any of the words from one day to the next - my brain seems to get wiped clean every night like the grid!
Chessy - know what you mean - I am beginning to be able to recite the se word list from a2z site
I'm missing 5 w's, is there a list somewhere? Or should I just say, "could I have a list please?"
Cluesies for 7s part III: fr7/52 - A stream or spring of fresh water. Mine is broken. It does not accept Christ
Glo, it just hasn't accepted him yet ;)
"Christ" is a registered trademark
Mine either. I think Christ is considered a proper name and therefore unacceptable.
Desperately need someone - anyone, to post a list of the m's...Only need 2 more words and, surprise surprise, they are both m's... Muchos...
I need a new plan! I do the words with small totals first so the stats box gets greyed out fast. But then I need 4 more letters with about 150 words and get really fed up!
Cluesies for the 7s, part IV: se7/52 - hybrid of person in bondage or sevitude (se4/7) and aquatic thingy. Sounds like it should ride the waves ;) st7/40 - Jay & Silent Bob have these Secret ones in New Jersey & L.A. lol (builds on your st5/16) sw7/52 - Fingerbobs had a famous body one (sw6/36) then pluralise it. Also means to chnage & correct a car's direction to avoid something...like the rest of the traffic if you've just jumped a red... th7/48 - a compound C6H12N2S4 used as a fungicide. Sounds like top part of a leg plus those male sheep. (singular is th6/33) There - that should take care of those :)

Are there 13 or 17 T's
Linda, there's only 13 Ts - sorry, should have checked that out :(
Can anyone give clues for the j words please
j's an aircraft takeoff aided by jet, plus pl shark movie acronym like ch6/39 but replace the ch with j one more j4/11 that I don't have
(oops, the acronym is j4, so I should have said use only the last 3 letters of the ch6)
Vicuna, the j you're missing is j4/11 a unit of Chinese currency.
Thanks- I think that one's in every single puzzle, and I miss it every time!
Vicuna you are my BEST Friend for life. Ive spent the last 1/2 hour looking for that so and so, I moved my eyes to read the chat and there you were with that great clue. Many thanks
I'm always happy to have a friend, mu!
any clues please for the as4/4 as6/33 and as7/48 and the ai5/16 please please please
as4/4 - on the ocean
courtesy of Anj: as7/48 - usually secluded residences of a religious community and its guru. Sounds like tree plus male sheep (singular is an ar6/33)

Munner - ar5/10s - ones is songs sung in an opera and one means to get up
No worries, mo. It took me a while to figure out as I don't know much text shorthand.
AnneB, I have those 2. Are there 2 more?
Anj, are you still there?
is it really possible to make a word from the E in the top right hand corner????? can someone give me a little clue please before I start bruising myself (or maybe my hubby) (lol)
What is the length of the other e - not the sensory one?
Munner - sorry i haven't got any others but that doesn't mean much!
The other is an e/9 I got it by monkey typing to get the points there is no def. does not seem like a real word
mu- it's an acronym for electro magnetic fields :)
*stealth hug*
Congrats, Chessy! See you later.
still trying to work out your clue Munner. There is only one word to get from that corner E so will work on it tyvm

I'm back! 56 words to go!!
Hey all, I'm stuck on ma 8/75 and ma 8/65. Any clues?
mu, read lola's post and remember what an acronym is.
Hi jera :)
Heya Jera.
Hey, lola! We've been missing each other a lot, hon! How are you?
ma8/75 is a mexican street band.
I could use some help on that long f-word, please? fi7/60
can anyone tell me what the 9 begins with please/thanks.
I'm good thanks! And you? Heard the party was a success and the boy is now officially four :)
Yup, he's been running through the house singing happy birthday in Spanish all day... what fun! Got some cool pressies which are of course scattered to the four winds...
Thanks lola.
its s oggy
Lola, I know -it's like we're missing an ingredient or something :( Next time she appears I will jump on her, you use the handcuffs :)
Oggy the 9 letter word begins with S think about cutting
Hi, Pearl Girl! Welcome to the addicting game of Babble!
Oggy - it begins sa and is like adding a cutting tool to some things that swim in shoals
HELP, I need help with the other E word - have the ones that you hear with. The other, please?
Haha, yes! The influx of more stuff. Was actually discussing the merits of the charity shop and passing some things onto them with mine this afternoon. Don't know if it will make any difference tho'.....
got it thanks
Mary, lola gave an excellent clue at 4:11!!
mary it is electron..... initials
Mary, top right, it's Unbelievable (as their song said...) Or it's ElectroMagnetic ForceS, take your pick :)
evening all. MaryB: brilliant clue thank you ;o)
Munner, hi! I'll let you know if this was really a good idea to tell me about this game!
speedfreak, is that e word 9 letters or 9 points?
Sorry I meant AnneB
munner it is just worth 9 points
EM4/9
Anj, okay! But do you think it's a good idea to mix lotti with handcuffs.......lol!
Hi Speed :) Didn't see you sneak in lol
I have several boxes ready for donation... most of the charitable places around here are full of stuff for the hurricane victims & I don't want to add to the overflow. But we are filling a box to send to Iraq, toys & school supplies.
Hey bobsta :)
Lola lol :) Knowing her, WE will probably end up handcuffed together...
Afternoon Anj!!!
hey Lola, HI Anj
Mucho thanks to all, I've been stuck with that last E forever. I am now finished, thanks to all for all their clues.
Okay, back to my problem with the fi7/60...
Congrats, Mary!!
Thanx, Bobsta. I have no idea what it means, but I got it.
Hi Bobsta :)
has anyone got the 1st and 2nd letters of the esses please
Jera, I'm trying to remember an earlier clue: Start with a total failure less the final letter = a letter of the Greek alphabet.
jera..... it is a strange word but means that something went really wrong..... a similar word is fia........ that the FEMA found themselves in....
sfneil thanks for the clue. Sorry I didn't reply earlier, got called away. (blast them!!!!) Can you tell me how may lettters I'm looking for?
jera- think italian car. Change the last letter to an s and add tai *** (excercise) :)

doh! i have spent ages trying to work out a nine letter word beginning with e but now realise its 9 points not nine letters!
I have the first 5 letters correct, I believe... how do I end it??
like a martial art Tai ***
That should have read add a letter of the Greek alphabet.

AnneB sorry for the confusion on the e word guess that was my fault the only 9 letter word begins with S
Whew, got it! thanks!
hee hee That's Triple S for you lol I was nearly caught by the big bad log tho' :( Had to bug out and log in again...
what's the first letter run down on the 8 letter words?
Now I really need some help with the J's... I have ja4/14 & ji4/13... help?!
boreetos, ma8 x 2 and re8 - need clues?
Still searching for ai 5/16 and two more ar 5/10--not the Italian music or getting out of bed.
ive got the re8, but clues for the two m8's would be awesome. thanks Anj!
boreetos M8 clues one is a mexican band one is an old word for (fenny, boggy )
munner- for the ai5/16 add a letter to the end of your second ai4/4 :)
Never mind... got the J's... must have been good wishes! ;>
ok anj, got the mexican band one, but the fenny one is tripping me up. is the base for it the m5/20 for swamp?
munner- with the ar5/10's: one ends in the shortened form of sibling and the other ends in the word for go up without the last letter. Hope that makes sense!
thanks Anj too
boreetos, not quite - it used the same first four letter as the mexican band which is a big hint :) Cheers mo :)
sweet. thanks anj. that's a word without the last two letters as well.
and thanks Mary
lola100. Sorry I didn't notice your clue earlier, the chat log seemed to be flying and with family wanting my attention it all went pearshaped for a while (tsk I hate being interupted) Many thanks It did the trick for me. I would never have thought of that as a word
You are most welcome mu :)
Anybody enjoy Waking the Dead pt 2? I thought it was excellent
lola, the first one was a snap, but I'm still struggling on the second ar 5/10
ar 5/10 The accented or long part of a metrical foot
Lola, I got it. A little bit of monkey typing always gets me through! Thanks for the a clues. Got those little buggers now.
spellit - I saw some of it but missed the 1st part so it was all a bit confusing lol
Munner, think of actor Ed H...... who did the Abyss, Right Stuff, Pollock Enemy at the Gates. The missing bit is the ar5/10
Yes you needed to see pt 1 - I don't know why they all keep working for Boyd!
spellit-I find boyd sooo irritating that I don't know why I watch!!! Was good tho'!
lola - Boyd is intensely annoying but I can't stop watching
I did laugh tho' when he grabbed the mike and yelled at the doc during the interview!
Yes really over the top. How badly did they all treat the French girl
Is that one of those British shows on British tv?
Hi torgone :) Are you feeling left out? :)
Yes it's about a team that relooks at dead criminal cases usually murders
Left out? Nah. I don't get to watch too much tv anyway. sounds interesting, though. We don't get British tv over here. . . We see it, but we don't get it.
That's me forthe day - a voice is calling! See you tomorrow
'Bye spellit :) Torgone- lol! You should try living here!

buzzybee: another oa5/10. Think what you find in deserts :)
Could someone please post the second letter list of the A words thanks
Art Lady, is your avatar your own work?
thanx lola.
Lola, don't worry babe, they will change regularly as the stats engine munches more of your music lol. Munner, the ch6 is the singular of the ch7/56 the cr6 is your cr4/6 saying thank you ;)
lianakate, mab - thanks! I do try. That stuff is lifted from various blues tunes. You don't have to like beer to get along with me, but I've found enough of it will blur your vision so won't mind looking at me.
i desperately need the two last w's...i have all the common ones..and have monkey typed myself goofy..(so whats new)
munner, for the cr6/24 add two letters to your cr4/6, maybe short word for thanks? Sounds like a girls name :)

lianakate....every word has a plural....
torgone..I am a big blues fan..but there isnt enough beer in the world to let me ignore those blond locks that look like a wheat field..lol
I'll bet you're adorable and don't know it.
munner- I think the ch6/39 is one letter less than your last ch7/56 :)
lola100, I would have sworn I had tried that. Ty.
well, blaze i will go back and look..ty.
Hey torgone, what's the difference between a dog and a fox? About six beers ;)
blaze..they are all pluralized..so i must be missing some..on stat board shows two missing.
Does someone have a second letter t posting handy?
oops nearly forgot to say thanx munner, too. i'm seeing mirages!
Gawrsh! I may swoon from all this attention. But I have to go now - I'll be back on later to try and finish. (Just for the record, I don't look much like Johnny Bravo.) Byee!
lianakate- do you have the W's that are a direction?
BEER WARNING LABEL: WARNING, the consumption of beer may lead you to believe that ex-lovers are really dying for you to telephone them at 4:00 AM.
lola - lol! My point exactly. TTFN
Cheers torgone :)

I know why they keep working for Boyd - cos he's just soooooo charismatic (or not) I love the series and may have to get the first lot just out on dvd. How sad is that?????
malise- bet you love H from CSI miami too!
munner. your 5.33 post of the a words is missing aw 4 7
Sorry for the delay, Jo. Yes it's based on a photo of myself at Jungfraujoch in Switzerland this summer.
Jo, Can I pitch in there?? I've had a woman use beer as an excuse for a convenient memory lapse, despite a roomful of people who were there telling her what she said/did :/ That ruined a perfectly good friendship lol
that had no bearing on your question, tho. ;-)
Thanks Munner the chat log is so busy I lost the first post....
Wonderful work, and a great story too ArtLady! :-) Ooooo ..... Anj, that's kinda a bummer ....
Thanks, Jo.
Yeah Anj, I've known a few guys like that too.....
"When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up . . . reading." Henny Youngman ;-)
LOL! Hey Jo, want to go get a beer when you've finished babbling?
Lola! SURE! :-)
Buzzybee, I do have that one. sorry I left it off.
Jo, story of my life lol. No big deal tho... she turned out to be the sort that uses a friendship to get by and then drops a person when it no longer suits her. And that includes her girlfriends. Scary attitude for a 30 something :/
could i have a clue for the ih words ....i know it is Muslim dres but i isnt in any of my dictionaries...thanks
hey, hey whoa, Whoa, WHOA!!! No beers without me along girls ;)
ih end with male sheep
mo- add a male sheep and pluralise :)
sorry for my typing errors
Hmmm...beer...then maybe dinner....
Anj. Sounds like a poor quality woman ... perhaps you should meet more women who drink beer? LOL
Of course not Anj, you're getting the first round! lol!
thanks so much Blaze and Lola 100
You're welcome mo :)
The F's are killing me ... at any clues on the F 7/60?
shallow, spoilt, selfish and immature, and only heard what she wanted to believe. Reality was a poor second to that :/ She couldn't deal with me because I said exactly what I thought. She never had that control over me. Never been a doormat lol It's sad tho', because I always try to see the best in people but some folk are just way beyond driven...

Hints, please for sc 5/18 and sc 6/30, probably a plural!

Blaze,the as 5/16 is what's left after the bonfire's gone down :)
Got it ... whew. NEVER heard of that one. Ok ... time for a break. :-)
anj: what a babble blooper I have looked at that word all day and thought I had it on my list... too many puzzles....
Lianakate how are your W's
Blaze, ar. 4/4 and 5/10, Italian music.
Lola, needed that :) Had to shine a light into that shadow...
Munner I have that one(s)
Aah, chin up babe. If it's any consolation most of us have a someone like that (or if we're unlucky, a few of them).
Blaze, do you need to get off your ar 4/4 and walk around to clear your head?
fi/7 is italian for liquid containers - it's a word only italians use - so why is it here I wonder ...
munner I have that one too
Still begging for sc 5/18 pointers.
Blaze, those are the only two ar 4/4s I think.
Munner it's what you might say to get rid of someone, then plural.
Munner and all I have ai x3 am x 2 ar x 10 as x 4
little help please - i need the last ch6/39, cr4/6 and cr6/24 - i'm clueless at this point!
Cheers Lo. I will tell you all about that sometime. If anything, it's good for a laugh :)
sc 5/18 and sc 6/30 think football
Hi kristin, take the a off the ch7/56 for ch6 The cr4 sounds like a name without the H The cr6 is the cr4 with added thanks on the end ;)
Haze1558, isn't that sc 4/4 and 5/14? I need sc 5/18 and 6/30.
You're on Anj. We can trade horror stories and I'll end up listening to Ezio for hours...lol!
You're right, I was wrong - add the top of a cup to your sc.
It has to do with fabric apparently.
(On knees, begging for apologies) I already had all the sc words. No wonder your clues sounded familiar. (Going downstairs to kitchen to lashing myself with a wet noodle)
No! Not the wet noodle!
thanks anj - apparently i had the cr4, but forgot to cross it off my list - as for the cr6 - i am currently in that state !!!
these are the A that I have which two are missing PlZ ai 4 4 ai 4 4 ai 5 16 am 4 6 am 5 14 ar 4 4 ar 5 10 ar 5 10 ar 6 18 ar 7 28 ar 6 18 ar 7 28 ar 4 6 ar 4 4 ar 5 10 as 4 4 as 5 16 as 6 33 as 7 48

lol Starless and Babble Black (with apologies to King Crimson)
Thank you thank you I have the a now on to the last 37 words.....well maybe after supper... Does anyone know how the timer works... is it only when you are listing words or from when you first log in.??
Artlady, your aw is the beginning of a passe teen expression. wow that's ****ome
Ang, I'm afraid you've lost me babe :(
Back from kitchen wiping off face from lashing--Does anyone have clues for si 5/10 and 6/18?
Oh god, it's late and I'm starting to spell your name wrong..... really should get some sleep..... just realised small person has a 5 hour heads up on me in the sleep stakes.......
Gramma, not too passe...they still use it!
Blaze, a second ar 5/10
Lola, just an oblique ref that sprung to mind. 5 hour head start?? You're in trouble babe... I've got a good book which I can hear calling my name...
aw 47 also, Blaze.
Munner I have completed the A words now on to C's do you have a complete list to post... I have gone through 200 messages and can not find one there ?????
Yeah, think I'd better get some shut-eye. See you tomorrow, goodnight :)
You too Lola :) Sweet dreams

Munner, it's an acronym for sleep induced rapid reawakening with a vowel on the end
thank you Anj
y/w Blaze. Off to kip now. 'Nite all - have fun. Back tomoorrow :)
Gramma, perfect clues.
Hi/bye Anj!
goodnight anj thanks for your help
did brandyjack disappear? I miss the 2nd letter list. (Maybe I am just missing it?)
any clues for both ta5/16's?
hokie carter: ditto on missing Brandyjack & the way he organized his lists !!!
Any clues for the last ch6/39 and 7/56? I'm beyond stuck. I've resorted to what you call monkey typing. It's not a good thing.
kristin, one is a leather strap used for punishment (ouch), the other is someone who shoots a marble(?). If you have the ta4/7 they come from that.
anybody have a second letter on the 2 e's and 4 h's?
Help..I can't find a single ma between the first 4/6 and the 2nd!!
gramma, the 6 is a word for "holy oil" or Jesus' last name with the last letter changed. Add a vowel on the end for the 7
Wow! Took me all day, but finished. Thanks for all your help throughout the day.
kristin, I'm all e*** about your problem. check 6:36 post from gramma to Munner for the other.
em ea
Hooray hooray Sheila Rae!
This is the one time I can offer any clues etc, so if I can help I will.
thanks torgone, got them both - just the e's and h's and i'm done ;)
he4/7 he5/16 hi4/7 hi5/16
Torgone tyvm. I just needed to check my list better. I didn't realize I had them all.
I double checked and I'm really missing a fi between the trees and the swimmer. tyia
artlady, I have a 5/20 & 4/9 in there, but I don't have all the m's.
gramma, The fi5/22 of Forth.
Torgone, you rock!
thanx gramma! Glad to help.
torgone I need the ma 5/14, ma 8/75, ma 6/33 and ma 8/65
Hi all, just back to finish up! I've got a measly 3 left -- the si5/10 and si6/18 combo, but I just can't see it. And I feel like a dope but whatever the dratted e4 is. Any help/clues much appreciated!
artlady, ma5/14 is a woman's name
Whoops, e clues posted when I wasn't looking, but I still need the esses. Thank you!
Mellisamay, si5/10 is the singular of si6/18
And why o why do I always miss that em4 when it's in so many puzzles??
ma8/75 is kind of Mexican music or band. ma6/33 is an old word for boggy, fenny - variant of an ma5/20; and its plural.
gramma, sorry, I have neither si, the 5 or the 6!
si5 & si6 can be found as an acronym, but I've also heard them used as an obsolete term of respect for a gentleman.
any help with si5/10???
Mellisamay, clue was posted from me to munner at 6:36
sorry the si5 and 6 have no definition - think of a mountain range that starts with s and leave out the 'e', then make it plural for the 6
Really Obvious Clue Alert si5/10 = Sleep Induction / Rapid ReAwakening
sorry make the desert not mountain!
Ah, sorry! Thanks gramma and torgone! I'm used to seeing that "term of respect" with an h ending. Again, thanks much, that's the last of it for me!
thanks kristin, it is both a mountain range and a desert
thanks, Periwinkle
anyone know how many words in this puzzle?
torgone - I love your clue for the si5/10 ;)
artlady, you are welcome, always glad to help someone when I can
Thanks Tor, I got them. Whew.
190 total words
Heya Hugs! Thanx!

Whatcha up to, torgone? Besides helping everyone out?
Making supper right now. Pancakes, eggs & bacon -Woohoo!
Sounds good to me... we've had that more than once for supper. ;o)
I have 31 words to go. Might finish this one..
I didn't realize you hadn't finished yet.
pooh still missing a couple - any clue for the sa5/16 and the ar5/10 - not to awaken or musical.
sa5/16 - one who cuts wood
vicuna thanks - i feel stupid for missing that one, i always try to add er or s to the end of words!
ar5/10 (no def.) take your awaken..double the first consant, then drop the last vowel.
oops consanant
got it hugabugs, i knew what you meant - now i know why i never got that word the first time around lol!
a 4th ar5/10 is the "short or unaccented part of a metrical foot"
or it could be this ar5/10 The short or unaccented part of a metrical foot, especially in quantitative verse.
The eye of Doogle is watching you...
got the ar thanks!
krisin - Good stuff! :o)
Are there really words beginning with ih? There's no such thing in Webster's!
Ih5/20 - the sacred dress of muslim pilgrims.
Ahh, I should have tried my Webster's Arabic version! thanks!
Vicuna - the majority of the words can also be found here http://www.a2zwordfinder.com/
i had to come back to see if I could find a few more words
that is freaky, doogle!!!!! in the eye of the beholder, n stuff.
if i could only find my 2 missing w's..maybe a 6/27 . pletty pleeze, sum hep?

O, ferrari..you had best get crackin', eh?..GL!!
liana- round your middle!
how do you know how many words are left and such? i'm a first timer
lianakate, wa6/27 = plural of wa5/16 your middle measurement.
ferrari..i looked at that many times, and didnt think it was a word (O major duh)...ty so much. T'is appreciated
nostrich- from the stats panel if you have it otherwise scroll down the messages for clues, it's 190 words today
Tor..ty! I didnt even pluralize it til you mentioned it!!!! Now i have the top row all filled. Only 37 more to go..YIKES..
I don't have that, but I have 185, anyway. i've only played once and i'm already tempted to pay to upgrade :p
nostrich - It is well worth it! It's such an addictive game, you'll be back, and the grid you get to see helps so much to determine what you need and where to look.
yeah, i just looked at the sample panel. i'll keep playing a few mroe days, first. i tend to get bored quickly.
can't put words, messages or anything in tonight, it's very unresponsive
just wanted a list of s's but won't let me see all messages for clues
I'm thirsting for wa wa. wa4/7 andwa5/16....between the orphans and my belted middle. Any help?

artlady, congrats lol
ferrari, mouse like mammal
ferrari - The Taming of the sh5/22
and it's plural
nostrich - Have you any idea what 5 words you need?
Hugabugs, no - I'm fighting the temptation to upgrade, though.
Don't fight it... join the BAbble-side! The grid will be with you!
Ohhh, upgrade I work with his mother and he needs to make more money, acc to her
$9.95 for lifetime membership is pretty cheap. And you get the neat-o signet decoder ring (not).
I can't believe some of the words I miss sometimes, hang my head. just a c, m and r to go. what is the final points score, does anyone know?
I'm worried about losing interest, as I'm prone to doing, and wasting my money, though. Also, I'm British. Paypal will convert £ to $ for me, right?
3348
i have a bunch left to find, but if anyone needs any clues, perhaps i have a word they need. Just ask. :)
190 words 4.94 3348
Artlady - you know Mama God????? Wow!!!!!!!!
maybe it's grandma god??
Yes PayPal converts... also, when I bought in, I had the option of putting directly on my credit card.

Damn it, I upgraded! Now to figure out how these stats work...
LOL nostrich - well done!
It's a dangerous path you've taken, Nostrich...
Yes! nostrich is ours!!! BUWAHAHAHAHAHA!.... (Continue diabolical laughter..)
I'm missing an S, an A, two Ws and an E. Three 4 letter words, and two 5 letter words. i don't know which are which, though.
Babble claims another victim (snicker snicker)
I've been giving clues about the ch7/56 all day, how come I missed that one. December 25 my *firmarse*
one of the Ws is a poor forlorn child..all hungry and pale..orphanlike.
The main thing the stats panel gives you is the starting points for those words - often just enough of a hint when combined with the other clues available.
nostrich - you're probably missing an em4/9 from the top E
If I read this right, it says there is one E in the grid, right? It says I havn't found it, but I already got an E. Presumably something isn't working right tonight?
There are 2 E's in the grid. Top Row, and far right row going down.
2 e's: one starting from the upper right; one from the lower right.
nostrich there are 2 e's, top and bottom
yikes, I thought I had my J's. Am missing one, still. Clues , anyone?..
What do you have liana?
ja 4 11 ja 5 24 ja 4 14 ji 4 11 ji 4 13
liana its probably a ji/4 , miss out the ingo
think George Bush and Tony Blair for that matter
Tor..i have ja 4/11, ja 5/24, ja4/14 and ji4/11
looks like ji/13. Ty for listing them, hugs
m's; max8, mex5, mix3. sorry about this I'm being thick tonight. my daughter and her new hubby of 4 weeks came for a curry(cooked by my fair hands) ,I've had too much grape juice
liana did those clues help they were for the ji4/13
Any clues re the chr words? The only one I can come up with is the obvious which it doesn't allow. I know it must be staring me in the face, but can't see it.s
ma 4 6 ma 5 14 ma 8 75 ma 6 33 ma 8 65 ma 4 6 ma 5 14 ma 5 20 ma 4 9 me 4 6 me 5 14 me 4 9 me 6 33 me 4 9 mi 4 6 mi 4 6 mi 5 20
ferrari, no! lol. it looks like greek ..errr..Indian, to me..will think on it. (polish and blonde DOES have its disadvantages!!) :)
i'm such an idiot, i already had the plural of one of the Ws i was missing. still stuck on the E though - it's the top one
eva, december 25 use the middle i and drop 2 letters
Really Obvious (but clean) Clue Alert!! Don't read if you don't want an obvious clue! Jordanian Institute for Standards and Metrology

It's an em4/9
got it, ta. 3 to go
nostrich - I've posted the other letters that you were missing. Have you determined which were missing?
geez, 29 is too much to ask for. I thank you all for your help, and kindness!! I just am starting to feel too guilty filching words from clues like a thief in the night...
Can anyone give me the first letters for the third 8? I have the ma and the re.
2 left, an S and an A. I don't get how you all figure out their point values and word lengths. I know one is 4 letters and one is 5 letters... Am I just being dense?
G'night all..and Bless you, bunches!! :)
Sweet dreams, lianakate! That's a good showing. The figuring, fun and filching are what I'm here for.. See you next time..
the third 8 is MARI
Goodnight lianakate - See you next time!
Night Tor..you hunka hunka Jordanian you know what!! lololol
nostrich - each letter represents the point value per tile. a 4-letter word is x1, 5-letter is x2, etc
HUgs!! g'night to you too. Youre a patient soul!! (just what i need) ..stay well!
lianakate - if its the one about the strolling musicians than thats the ma I already have. Is there another mar/8?
ma5/14 ugh have the planet sounding one but the other eludes me completely
eva..its diff.
Eva - yes mar8/65 - archaic fens
Rowr! Sweet yet somehow "fidgety" dreams, babe!
Thanks, I'll go hunting.
"You have 0 word(s) left to find" :)

ferrari - it's a pl. of your me4/6 just above it. plateaus found in Arizona
Way to go nostrich!
Way to go nostrich! Congrats!
okay..am REALLY out of here..i couldnt resist trying to help Eva..its so seldom I have a good word found..!!!!! (exits left)
I wonder what happens if she exits right? ;o)
two of the words i was after were the singular forms of two plurals i already had, man i felt dumb
I did that too today.... I know how you feel.
nostrich we have all done that and more....
Hey Blaze!

My hair just like yours.... last 34 words to go
yeah me too minski
the ma 65 sounds like radishes, just change a couple of letters
ferrari... thanks. I've been beating the bushes trying to find that one...
ma6/33 old word for boggy, insert a vowell into a ma5/20, then pluralize.
Or... like a female horse?
Minski, your ma 6/33 rhymes with a political division of land in the state of Lousiana.
ferrari thank you very, very much! And a neat word I never knew.
Sorry ferrari - I was looking at the me5/14. You need the Ave Ma5/14
Thanks guys. nOw just misisng the 1st MA5/14.
