My favorite creature is in this grid, possessed of a flexible, attenuated snout! But only a humble c5 despite all that.

12:28 am

Heya Debs. Heya Hugabugs. Oh, I just crept in while you glanced away. Been playing Scrabble and Chess for much of the evening. And *finally* finished the latest Dan Simmons book. Yum.

12:29 am

Doog - do you play the SOWPODS Scrabble?

12:33 am

I currently play most of my games by e-mail at the Pixie Pit, and my gaming partner and I do use SOWPODS. It's new for me, though, and it's taking some getting used to all the new 2-letter words! Especially the ones that I've wanted to play for yours, like 'ed' that are suddenly legal.

12:34 am

It won't take you long to get to know them... I was addicted to Scrabble for quite some time.

12:34 am

another question... how do we find out how many words we are going for? thanks ~:o)

2:45 am

thanks hugs, how goes it this morning?

2:47 am

You're welcome zoom... Just 11 left to go... then I can hit the hay... Or maybe I'll finish off tomorrow. I'll see how frustrating it gets.

2:48 am

wow - almost there! is it full of obscure words today?

2:49 am

The majority are normal words, I'd say. And a lot of repeat weird ones we've seen often. n6/24

2:52 am

i've just started but i'd really like to finish today - this is about the only day i get enough time (& i need loads!)

2:53 am

a6/24 It does take lots of time. I've pretty much given up on TV and watching movies now!

2:55 am

i know, it takes over, if my family 've lost me, they always know where to look. i've only found an a5 so far.

2:57 am

I'm down to 5... 3 n's, 1 p and 1 L

2:58 am

yay! you must be on fire today!

2:58 am

but I've come to a dead end now

3:03 am

time for sleep - or coffee?

3:04 am

3 wordsto go but I think it's time for sleep. 3 a.m. here Of course, there's 1-4 letter, 1-5 letter and 1-6 letter

3:06 am

Oh nice, a small one. AND it is available first thing in the morning :) This is going to be a great day. Morning all...

3:06 am

of course! sleep well, maybe see you later, expect i'll still be dropping in & out of the site - happy dreams.

3:07 am

Thanks zoom. Goodnight and good luck. See you all later.

3:07 am

Hi Sprite - Bye Sprite! ;o)

3:08 am

Sleep well, hugs, see you! A well deserved rest, I'd say ;)

3:11 am

nite Hugs :) morning Sprite :)

3:43 am

Boysaway: it needs another double.

3:47 am

Thanks Sprite -- I could not get that lipstick tree in either.

3:49 am

hi all, back again. trying to get half way before the next chore break! how's everyone doing?

3:52 am

hi zoom, slow going at the moment...off to get the Sunday papers and a coffee...back later :)

3:52 am

omg am i on my own here?

3:54 am

no zoom its a hard one today trying to find a few words :0

3:55 am

you're right karen, but we wouldn't love it as much if it was easy - or would we :)

3:57 am

who knows! couldn't play yesterday had no babble on screen, got very shakey and strange lol

3:59 am

Hugs, finally found it. It restores the fishy babble demon and starts with the beer word. Any of various brilliantly colored damselfishes of the genus Abudefduf, especially the sergeant major.

3:59 am

You didn't miss anything - yesterday was toooo big

4:01 am

Problems with the log, it didn't refresh and I did not see my own messages, but now I do. Hope I did not repeat anyone unknowingly (is that a word?)

4:07 am

Funny word, that C9! Thought that could never go well, two of them on one ship?

4:07 am

i'm looking for an h4/10 to complete the h's - can anyone offer a clue please?

4:08 am

Zoom, it is a very merry one.

4:09 am

zoom - do you have the "funny" one?

4:12 am

is the 9 a follow on of the 8???

4:12 am

I'm trying to finish the F, E and O words. I have f4/4 and f7/40 e4/9 and e5/10 O4/6 and O4/4 Any help on the ones I am missing?

4:13 am

have i lost my sense of humour this morning - can't see it - aaagh!

4:13 am

Dianne, time for a break :) There are only 2 F-words.

4:14 am

Zoom: 2x same syllable.

4:14 am

Sprite - now you know why this game is so difficult for me - OMG!

4:15 am

how blind can i be?! slaps head! thanks for the help.

4:15 am

Dianne, before the stats panel I managed to look for over an hour for more words, only to discover then that I had finished some time ago. Don't feel bad! :D

4:15 am

dianne, you're looking for an e4/4 & an o6/33.

4:16 am

you've finished sprite? how long did it take you?

4:16 am

can i have the second letter to c9/90?

4:17 am

Finished this one? Heavens no, I am just over halfway. I meant a grid before we could go pro and get that nifty stats panel.

4:17 am

Lijuan, think 'together'.

4:20 am

Zoom - thanks for the help on the E and O - I found them both:)

4:21 am

phew! thought you were all done & dusted!

4:21 am

you're welcome dianne

4:22 am

Not me, I am getting there, but the going is getting slower with every word. I liked this grid, though. Some very normal words that come as real surprises :)

4:23 am

does the c9 build on the c7? sorry if this has already been covered in the logs.

4:24 am

Zoom and Lijuan, start with the C7/44 and then take the person he is arguing with.

4:25 am

Sorry, that should have read *a C7/44*

4:25 am

there're 2 c7/44s?

4:26 am

At least, I haven't finished the Cs yet. There is a Ca and a Co. You need the first for the 9.

4:26 am

Tackling the Ts now and just need one more. I have T4/4 6/24 6/24 4/4 6 /24 5/10 4/4 Anyone know what I am missing? Sorry I don't have the big C word.

4:27 am

Ta5/10

4:28 am

Either ta or ti

4:29 am

If you have given your list in order of appearance, then it is Ta.

4:32 am

Sprite - I was looking to put that word in but didn't think it would work - because I was starting with the wrong T. Thanks for th ehelp.

4:36 am

The log was very helpful for me, thank you all! That O6 was beyond me, but noodling helps if you know points and starting letter. 109 words / 4.86 / 1654 points.

4:43 am

amazing sprite, you put us all to shame, i've just passed the half way mark & must go & do stuff before having another go. still looking for the c9!

4:45 am

You'll love the C9 once you found it, zoom. I left some clues in the log that should be helpful. Think bossy seaguys.

4:46 am

before you go sprite, how many c7s are there? i have 2 - one to do with bossy seaman but can't see how it becomes a 9.

4:52 am

There are 4x C7, in order: Ca7/36 Ca7/44 Co7/ 44 Co7/36 You have the right one in mind, zoom. Give him someone to share responsibility with. Or start with your first Co4/8.

4:53 am

Zoom - I don't have all the Cs but I have c7/44 x 2 and C7/36. I think I read earlier that there is another C7/36.

4:54 am

well that's definite, you can't possibly leave sprite - need you too much- many thanks.

4:56 am

oh no, visitors- this game makes you soooo antisocial - back later.

5:01 am

Are all the L's LO?

5:02 am

Jera - yes.

zoom...two bossy seamen

5:02 am

ty, didn't want to overlook a sneaky second letter h...

5:03 am

Trying to finish the N words. I have N4/4 4/5 4/4 4/4 4/6 5/10 4/4 5/14 4/4 4/4 D oes anyone know what 2 I am missing?

5:09 am

Jera - four of the L words have the same first 3 letters.

5:22 am

Dianne, after your 2nd Na4/4 you need Na4/5 and Ne4/4. I'm off, cobabblers, have a great day!

5:22 am

*you need Na5/14* of course, sorry for the typo.

5:23 am

byes, sprite

5:33 am

Thanks Sprite - I'll go hunting.

6:11 am

it's very quiet out there... I'm having trouble finding the final L...I have L4x4...anyone have the 5th? :)

6:15 am

sorry, i'm also looking for the last L

6:17 am

Linda - I have a feeling it's going to be a headslapping moment when we find it :)

6:19 am

Hi everyone :) Mmmm, a gentle one...

6:20 am

Morning karenh, sherb, mickie, sprite :)

6:23 am

hi mickie

6:24 am

morning mickie...or technically just afternoon here in UK :)

6:25 am

It's 7:22 am here in Virginia. I just got up, got coffee and started babbling! No, I'm not addicted! Lol!

6:27 am

lol...I'd rather Babble than lie in bed, I've got it bad :)

6:28 am

too addictive

6:29 am

I know! You know I'm addicted when my first coherent thought is what will the puzzle be like today!

6:30 am

its nice to know so many of us feel the same is there a babble anon yet? lol

6:31 am

sort of...: http://p105.ezboard.co m/bbabblersanonymous

6:31 am

nooooooooo

6:32 am

I'm going to have to check that out.

6:32 am

I just get my therapy from playing...my friends and workmates think I'm strange...they just can't see what I see in it :)

6:37 am

HELP - going crazy looking for the NA5/14 - any clues?

6:38 am

Dianne: Could be a short girl's name.

6:38 am

Dianne, i've got one that sounds like Ronald Reagan's wife with a different ending

6:40 am

Anj and Broll - I didn't even try that until I got your clues. Thanks. Are there 2 NE words?

6:40 am

Good morning everyone :)

6:40 am

Morning Lola.

6:40 am

hi lola :)

6:40 am

Hi Babe :) How are you today? Did you miss me??

6:41 am

Dianne: No. There is n6/24 that I found just a bit ago.

6:42 am

Hi mickie and karen :) Anj- more than chocolate babe ;)

6:42 am

morning lola :)

6:43 am

Hi Sherb :)

6:43 am

Aww, now I'm feeling all warm & fuzzy lol (((x))) :)

6:44 am

Morning Lola.....

6:44 am

(((((((xxx))))) :) Did you behave after I left this morning?

6:45 am

Hey dazza :)

6:45 am

Good morning all. I keep trying the lipstick tree a and getting refused. Too early in the morning for this much rejection. What am I doing wrong?

6:45 am

Broll - got it - thanks so much.

6:46 am

Hi eva :)

6:47 am

Eva - two t's please! :)

6:47 am

hi lola. I've been wondering...are most of the people on this list living in the UK?

6:48 am

Of course Lo. I was winding down when you left anyway so it was only about 10 mins more. Couldn't drop off to sleep tho' lol Feeling a little dozy just now :) How about you??

6:51 am

Yeah, feeling a bit slow this morning :/ Should have found all the words first before having that celebratory drink, lol!

6:51 am

Could some kind soul please list the p's?

6:52 am

Sorry Eva, haven't even looked at those yet...

6:52 am

this puzzle is hard!

6:53 am

Whenever you get there Anj. Thanks.

6:53 am

Hey babe, wanna d5/16? :)

6:54 am

LOL just mistyped a C7 and got a bona fide C6 i've never seen before. Going back to last night's ideas, the banner should say something like "You lucky, lucky s*d!"

6:54 am

You two boogying already?!!!!!! Hi everyone :)

6:55 am

Hi lotti :) Have fun last night?

6:55 am

Morning Lotti :) Well, Lola is warm & cuddly & i'm only human... ;)

6:55 am

Anj- just replicated your typo. Who knew?

6:56 am

Yeah lovely meal thanks.... the kids were good and enjoyed it too. They`re becoming Korma addicts :)

6:57 am

I wouldn't recognize a lipstick tree if it jumped up and bit me and I can't seem to spell one either!

6:57 am

I was going to say Lotti, don't feed them too much curry or they might slip into a korma lol Eva, lipstick tree???

6:58 am

Ahhh Anj! He needs tlc Lola ;)

6:58 am

Eva - the first part is a four-letter girl's name, and the second part has a double consonant - see my earlier post - and ends in a vowel :)

6:59 am

LOL Anj, my eldest will probably find that funny too :)

7:00 am

Sherb- what I've been trying over and over again is the girl's name, followed by a digit ending in two vowels, and I keep getting denied. I'm spelling it the way it's spelled in the dictionary but obviously something's wrong. What am I missing?

7:01 am

lotti- he's not the only one sis :/ Babbled 'til 4 this morning and had a few drinks too! What is this lipstick tree??

7:02 am

eva, the ending is a double consonant, then a vowel

7:02 am

lola, a7/28

7:02 am

Aaahhhhh ((((((((((((((xxxxx))))))))))) ))) Hugs for you both :o)

7:03 am

Lola, hey but it was fun tho' lol big hug ((((((( )))))))

7:03 am

Cheers Lotti - same for you (((((((((x))))))))) ...and anyone else that needs one :D

7:04 am

Bless you Zoom and sherb! I needed the double teaming.

7:04 am

i'm struggling with lo6/33 & two t6/24s - iknow that's a lot to ask for all at once, but if anyone's feeling generous.....?

7:04 am

lol! yeah, but I hope you made sure Babbler was out of the jacuzzi before you left Anj!

7:04 am

you're welcome eva

7:05 am

Thank you broll :)

7:05 am

lol Lo, no she had a bottle of cab sauv and was listening to Classic FMs chillout session when I left

7:06 am

zoom - lo6/33 must be the one I've been missing...I'll join you on the trail now :)

7:06 am

Thanks! :) Lola i don`t have a clue about this lipstick tree either. I don`t even know what letter it begins with......could it be T as thats the only girls name that stands out at me ???????

7:06 am

hope you have more joy than me finding it!

7:06 am

lotti, it's an a7/28.....still looking.... :)

7:07 am

zoom, lo6/33, add an ending to your watery one. I need the t's also.

7:07 am

lotti - lipstick tree begins with a

7:07 am

A happy and sweet new year to all.

7:07 am

zoom - t6/24 James Clavell novel (I know, I know...) set in Hong Kong, and t6/24 what Tiny Tim did :)

7:07 am

Juuuust Oonnneeeee a7/28, geeeeve eeeet to meeeeee!

7:07 am

brilliant broll, thanks!

7:08 am

a7 - try googling lipstick tree

7:09 am

Uh...did I come at a bad time?!

7:09 am

There are 3 x t6/24.

7:09 am

Thanks sherb- it is reassuring that my memory was able to retrieve those.

7:09 am

is the novel a ta word broll? if so i have it thanks. what did tiny tim do, at the risk of looking totally thick!

7:10 am

sorry, that was meant for sherb!

7:10 am

The dictionary doesn't seem to like chili peppers. Won't accept ancho, one of my favorite for cooking.

7:10 am

lol...at the risk of showing my age, Tiny Tim did something involving tuplips ;)

7:10 am

or even *tulips*

7:11 am

Yay thanks everyone :) Hiya Miyavi ;)

7:11 am

so he did sherb - long live the tuplips!! thanks

7:12 am

Hi Lotti :) Big night out last night?

7:12 am

Hi miyavi :)

7:12 am

any clues for the remaining t6 anyone?

7:13 am

No just a meal at curry house for dads birthday :) Very nice it was too.

7:13 am

Hey Lola :0 See you and Anj are boogying on down already!

7:14 am

zoom - I think you've got them both, the ta novel and the Tiny Tim :)

7:14 am

any clues for the e in the bottom right? I've only found 1 so far.

7:14 am

oooh dear, the hands are playing up already. Meant :) not :0. Don't worry Lola, I'm not screaming at the sight of you! Sounds nice Lotti :) (got it right this time)

7:15 am

Hey Miyavi :) Well, Lola and I just think 'if it feels good, do it' Life should be full of nice surprises :D

7:16 am

afternoon everybody, lottijw have you ever bee to Sammy's in Heckmondwike?

7:16 am

Well said

7:16 am

lol! Nothing like a good boogie ;) Anj- OP's back on! My stats are going to be something like OP-465, everything else-3!!!

7:16 am

broll - thanks for the clue to the l6 :) afternoon ferrari :)

7:17 am

Hi ferrari :)

7:18 am

thanks sherb, it's hard enough anyway without looking for words that aren't even there!!

7:18 am

Hi Ferrari, no i haven`t. We always seem to stick to the Raj up Scar lane or Cinnamon Lodge in Meltham which is where we went last night! You end up paying more in taxi`s otherwise :)

7:18 am

lol Lo, that's the idea. Stats are really just numbers in the first 12 months. After that they really start to mean something. Mine are all weird 'cos i'm uploading loads of stuff unto iTunes and playing it, although Cutting Jade are rapidly rising up my top 300 :)

7:18 am

zoom and sherb, there are 3 x t6/24

7:18 am

Hi ferrari

7:19 am

haven't recovered from yesterday's yet, didn't get to bed til 6.30am, I must be mad

7:20 am

oh no, back to monkey typing then - got any clues for the third one broll?

7:20 am

I agree Lola, nothing like a good boogie...especially when you're moshing in an RS classroom (confused yet?)

7:20 am

Anj- are you enjoying the CJ then? What are your faves? ferrari- aren't we all?!

7:21 am

no zoom, I'm going from a posting from hours ago, and it's been driving me nuts since then!

7:21 am

broll - my stats must be wrong because all the t's are now greyed out, and I only have two t6's :(

7:22 am

miyavi- is rs is reigious science?

7:22 am

My hubby would chuck a freddy if i was on here all night!!! He thinks i`m on it too long as it is :/

7:23 am

Yup, Religious Science. Only now the teacher wants us to call it 'Morals and Ethics'. *sighs*

7:23 am

8 t's in total - t4x3, t5x3, t6x2?

7:23 am

Lola, too many to list. Young Blood, Living Without You, Fight You, 10 Seconds, Fade Away, Beautiful, Afraid to Feel, Run, Against the Wall, Cry Later... :) How about you? Did you get any Karnataka??

7:24 am

miyavi- in that case we used to do it too, drove the teacher nuts ;)

7:24 am

Oh man! Thanks sherb, maybe now I can finish t's.

7:24 am

broll & sherb - my t's are: ta4/4, ta5/10, ta6/24, ti4/4, ti6/24, ti5/10, to4/4. i think i'm missing one more word. any ideas please?

7:26 am

What?! You moshed in classrooms? I did it when the teacher wasn't there, during a particularly freezing lunch break. He looked so scared when he walked in the room!

7:26 am

Miyavi?? Morals & ethics?? sounds a bit like indoctrination to me lol

7:26 am

Zoom another t6/24 same as me i think! :/

7:26 am

zoom - probably another ta5/10, sounds Italian :)

7:26 am

Phantom word of the day: pinochle... I've tried to spell that 3 times already, maybe it will work next time...

7:27 am

thx sherb. It's so easy when you know what to look for!

7:27 am

Lol...our whole school is poncing up, though. We have to call homework 'home learning' and our school is now a 'learning community'...*shudders*

7:28 am

Anj- I'm so jealous, haven't heard some of those! Love ten seconds, run, living without you, fight you...will keep looking for more :) K are proving to be a bit shy. Only one track, heaven can wait (listening now, nice!) but will keep looking :)

7:28 am

at last!! thanks sherb

7:29 am

miyavi- yup. Have been known to lead a mosh or two in my day ;)

7:29 am

broll and zoom - you're welcome :) off to hunt for c's now...

7:30 am

happy hunting, i'm starting on n's - there's not so many of them!

7:31 am

Cool Lola! Did everyone climb on the tables?!

7:31 am

Can I get clues for the ho4/9x2? I have monkey typed and typed and typed!

7:32 am

mickie, short Sherlock and strangled cry for aid

7:32 am

miyavi- we had rickety old wooden desks. Was best to stay off them ;)

7:34 am

lol! Best part of the mosh was when a boy fell off the table and knocked a shelf full of books/decaying coffee mugs over...classic...

7:34 am

Hi everyone.

7:34 am

*sighs* Lola, run away with me lol Try searching for Karna now ;) I've changed my settings but restricted connections to 3 at a time

7:35 am

Thanks, broll!

7:35 am

Greetings Macadam :) How's your day??

7:40 am

7:43 am

Hi mom:)

7:48 am

Anj- ! ....lol! Oh, and those two tracks aren't there?

7:48 am

7:49 am

It could be worse Ferrari

7:51 am

7:54 am

7:56 am

Miyavi is it back to school/college tomorrow or are you going to lurk at home?

7:56 am

Could you tell me what the 8 begins with.

7:57 am

Miyave, could be worse. You get words, coffee, chocolate, hugz and all the support you want. That should cover most of your basic needs lol

7:57 am

pi8/60

7:58 am

I know this mac its a p8/60

7:58 am

Cheers mickie

7:58 am

Why is it as soon as you find an icon you love, you always find another better one ten seconds later? *sighs* Anj...does this make me an icon tart too?

8:09 am

8:09 am

Miyavi, try losing a T

8:10 am

8:39 am

8:40 am

Babbler, just fine thanks. Not too cloudy upstairs considering. Still trying to get champagne out of my hair

8:41 am

Don't worry Babbler...close your eyes and think of England :)

8:41 am

Cheers Miyavi :) You know me too well...

8:41 am

Uh...champagne in your hair?

8:42 am

Lucky you...all I have in my hair is a family of Sparrows

8:43 am

After-puzzle party Miy lol I've got a few knots in mine :/ Only happens when I let it dry naturally

8:44 am

Anj- lola is having one of those days. Went to post you a message and blocked you instead :( I know, I know *sigh*. Tried the searches you suggested but no luck. Thanks for the ones I got tho' :) Have turnd lime off now as I need to babble :)

8:45 am

Blocked me? :'( lol , you can unblock me using tools, options, advanced & host. Just delete my IP address from the first box

8:46 am

Tut tut Anj...my family is quite unlucky with champagne, the past two times we had it, the cork broke a window and champagne went all over a wedding dress :/

8:48 am

Miyavi, use a napkin if you don't want ballistic corks bouncing off the scenery :) Lola, i've left those tracks available to for next time ok?

8:49 am

cor! I always wondered if a champagne cork could break a window...! wow! I always hold the cork. There's a way of doing it that's completely safe. Miyavi, would you mind awfully making me another cup of tea? I'm gonna watch Friends in bed...

8:51 am

Of course not, I live to serve. On some profile for msn I put my occupation as 'child labourer'.

8:51 am

Anj...tell my dad, not me!

8:52 am

lol ! I was never averse to exploiting my younger siblings! Thx my little flower! Back later...

8:52 am

Anj, thanks babe ;) But.... I do not appear to have that last host option :/

8:52 am

Consider him told. Oh and NEVER do the corkthing on an aircraft unless you can afford the laundry bill

8:53 am

Lola, sorry babe, it's under Filters :)

8:54 am

thanks.. just got the 9 :)

8:55 am

Yay! Found it! You can come back and visit again went you babe ;)

8:56 am

8:56 am

*sigh* "when you want"....

8:57 am

Good shout ferrari. I feel the need to get all cullinary on things later too :)

8:58 am

Lola, I guessed as much, but I spent 60secs thinking 'eh? must be afrikaans or something' LMAO :D

8:58 am

Thanks Anj, will keep that one in mind! Er...next time I'm opening champagne on a plane, that is. Which may well happen, given the father's lack of skill :)

8:59 am

Oh Anj, be gentle with lola today :)

9:00 am

Hello all -- I see we have a do-able grid today

9:00 am

Hi sproing :)

9:01 am

*gentle hug* ((( x )))) Feeling a bit fragile babe?? ;)

9:02 am

can I have a list of the 7`s please.

9:02 am

Hi Sproing :) Oh Miyavi, if you are going to spray champagne over all & sundry, make sure there are no muslims sitting nearby. Friend of mine did that and spent the next 8hrs of his flight apologising

9:03 am

Macadam, you've gone purple :)

9:03 am

*whimpers and nods*

9:03 am

mmm... champagne...

9:03 am

Really? Brings back memories of the time my sister forgot she had her ipod in on the flight to America and yelled at me that the guy in front of her had dandruff *sigh*

9:03 am

Got the blues cos I`m having problems with this grid.

9:04 am

LOL :)

9:04 am

There, there babe. Curl up and take chocolate :)

9:04 am

(that was for Miyavi, not you macadam!)

9:05 am

ni5

9:05 am

me too macadam my brain just isn't working

9:05 am

Yes Dr Anj ;)

9:05 am

Thanks Sproing...I can laugh about it now, but on the flight, amazingly, it wasn't so funny.

9:06 am

I have an7, ca7 and fo7. What other 7's am I missing?

9:07 am

That's my girl. Come back for a quick check up in 60 mins. Of course, we can always skip that and go straight for the malpractise :D

9:07 am

another ca and co7 x 2

9:07 am

Got the CO9. Thanks for the clue Zoom. Oh and Good Morning everyone.

9:07 am

pi 7 co 7

9:07 am

LOL! I like the way you think :)

9:07 am

Miyavi, I can only imagine... on my honeymoon I managed to spill a glass of fizzy all over my hubby but miraculously it was his and not mine... he was unimpressed :) He got another glass, but had to sit on a transatlantic flight smelling like booze

9:08 am

Hi minski :) Hi Une :)

9:08 am

(I did this before we took off)

9:08 am

Yawn! Yes, it is past 11AM and I am still yawning over my late night search for perfection that, alas, feel short by 3 words. So what have we here????

9:09 am

Hi swmbo :)

9:09 am

Lola, if you can't laugh what can you do ?? ;) Hi Unie, Hi Swimmy

9:09 am

Morning Minski :)

9:10 am

What's the 8?

9:10 am

Sproing...*shudders* flight from hell, hm? And it always happens on the long ones!

9:10 am

thank you, one more just jumped off the grid for me. Sheesh I've been at this way too long.

9:11 am

GOT THE 8. BIG HINT FOR NINE PLEASE..................

9:11 am

hey, all! Sproing, I have a friend whose baby spit up on her just as her flight was leaving Christchurch for Los Angeles!

9:11 am

Hi swmbo, I fell short by 5, absolutely gutted

Hey guys. Any tips for a new player?

9:12 am

nah, the flight was ok -- my in-laws got us business class seats and it was the first time either of us had flown in anything other than peasant-class :) I just plied hubby with booze and he seemed to cheer up...

9:12 am

CO9 off the CA7

9:12 am

Une, that's horrible!!!!

9:12 am

Ouch...having smelt baby sick, I can sympathize with that

9:12 am

Now Alleyn how about a hint for the 8?

9:12 am

the 9 is a bit like a first officer but is co******* instead

9:12 am

Good Morning everyone: It is 10 am here promised my son I would take him shopping after a quick peek at Babble and I've spent the last 1/2 hr. reading and enjoying the log (also typed in a few words) have to go be back later....love all the airplane stories

9:13 am

SA Hoof - run naway while you still can. This is like the Hotel California lol Welcome to Babble :)

9:13 am

Wish the dandruff man had cheered up...

9:13 am

See you soon speed :)

9:14 am

Laters Speed :)

9:14 am

good clue Ferrari

9:14 am

my tips would be... start rom the top laeft and try to work out all words for that letter.. when totally out of ideas.. move on to the next letter... then look for clues for the ones you missed on here http://www.onelook.com helps if you get a list with first and second letters hope that helps

9:15 am

most embarrassing airplane moment: I walked all the way from the restrooms in back to the very front seat with back of skirt tucked into pantyhose!

9:16 am

Would someone be so kind as to give me a hint for the ca7/36 please?

9:16 am

LOL! Oh Une :)

9:16 am

still not got the 9 - idiot clue............

9:16 am

could anybody give me a clue for the ch6/39 pleeeease

9:16 am

Right, have to take 30 :) Miyavi, could you be a dear and look after Lola for me please? I've prescribed mini-eggs, 3 to be taken every 5 mins with mocha. :)

9:16 am

Une -- that's one of my worst nightmares...

9:17 am

ouch! My worst time personally (because that last one was harder on my sister) was when I was...quite a bit smaller, and when the captain came out to talk to us, I yelled "Mum, who's flying the plane!?" really loudly...cringe...

9:17 am

ferrari - it's something you try

9:17 am

ch 6/39 i'll give you a ch???? to get it ;p

9:17 am

I WISH I'd been dreaming! :)

9:17 am

Of course Anj. The child labourer is back ^_^

9:17 am

On any given sports team there is always a CA7 on some there are 2 CA7s and then they are CO9s.

9:17 am

Ferrari - if you get to try again, you get another ch****.

9:18 am

Cheers :)

9:18 am

9:19 am

wait...is it just me or is there a typo in there... OFF! OFF! Sorry, perfectionist :)

9:21 am

well we did give you a chance ;p

9:22 am

i don't believe it!!!!!!

9:23 am

na5/14 - its Brit slang (well its at least Brit slang) for an "effeminate man"

11:03 am

Boysaway ~ take your CE4/6 and add NO to it.

11:03 am

and its one letter off the no5/14

11:03 am

Thanks Sheila and Minski!

11:05 am

Atalante- thanks. I finally got it.

11:07 am

any clues for the first ca6/24, please?

11:08 am

babbler - you ****** be serious???

11:08 am

is it really obvious? have I mucked up?

11:09 am

I can't give you a clue Babbler ;)

11:09 am

*grins* think John McEnroe ...

11:09 am

Babbler - there are two. The other is a region in Switzerland :)

11:10 am

I've got the Swiss one. I'm stuck on the other one....

11:11 am

Has anybody got a breakdown of the T`s please????????

11:11 am

its an anagram of the swiss one ...

11:12 am

**** groan !!! ***** I think I know what it is.....

11:12 am

ok, if you've got the Swiss one, then it's the McEnroe one :)

11:12 am

Babbler, you will kick yourself if you can't see it!

11:12 am

... yup .. !! thx guys! : D

11:13 am

Boysaway -- can you see me??? lol !

11:14 am

No I c6

11:14 am

this means I don't have the first ca5...

11:15 am

Hi again everyone :)

11:15 am

nice pic, Miyavi! thx for the tea earlier -- it was blinding!

Hello all

11:16 am

Hi Toe! how are you today?

11:16 am

*Beep!* Anj is not in just now, but I'm sure he was he's say Hi Miyavi

11:16 am

Thanks Babbler :) blinding tea? sounds dangerous...

11:17 am

that's Anj's recorded message. He does that sometimes....

11:17 am

Hi Toes :)

11:17 am

*stifles giggles* A novel way of saying hi

11:17 am

it's a London thing, Miyavi. Blinding means fantastic!

11:18 am

*sighs* This is bad of me...I live about twenty minutes north of london, I should really know that...*hangs head*

11:19 am

** jumping up and down, having a tantrum ** what's the first ca5-errrr ? I can't fiiiiiiind it-errr! sulky wulky....

11:19 am

I am missing the two ca6/30s. Any clues?

11:20 am

oooh dear...babbler's taking a visit to Strop Central

11:20 am

Babbler, girls name with a c in front

11:20 am

one's a rubbish UK admin company....

11:20 am

Ca5/14, flower tall with bright flowers

11:20 am

(apologies to anyone who works for them...)

11:20 am

babbler- part of a long poem, similar to your swiss one but missing the last letter

11:21 am

oops, sorry, wrong clue!

11:21 am

Babbler - calm down dear, it's only a game...your ca5 sounds like a Scots version of the McEnroe word :)

11:21 am

thx Boysaway!! you made me smile!

11:21 am

Nice save, Babbler :)

hehehe

11:22 am

thx Miyavi. I've had a few run ins with this company. They handle the London congestion charge, and BBC licence fee collection. And my local council tax. (grrrrrr!!)

11:23 am

Boys - the other's a ca7/44 with a letter missing :)

11:24 am

heh...I'm too dependent on others to understand much of that, so I'll just smile and nod ^_^

11:24 am

babbs..i just read your profile~~ what is sodoku? ..sounds like a Japanese tag team.

11:24 am

My profile?? Haven't done one (yet). Sudoku - fab Japanese number puzzle. Highly addictive!

11:25 am

*wails* why is everything so addictive?!

11:25 am

I envy you, Miyavi....!

11:26 am

Thanks Sherb and Babbler

11:26 am

not everything is addictive. It's just that some of us get addicted to things easily. (well, that's true for me). Of course there are mega addictive things. Sugar being the no.1 evil.....

11:27 am

Hehehe...*tries hard not to gloat*

11:28 am

Me too, Babbler. All things are addictive to me. But sugar being the no. 1 evil...how can something so good be so bad?! *sobs*

11:28 am

gloat Miyavi. Enjoy your youth. We're a long time old....

11:29 am

lunch!!! mebbe a PBJ sammich,...bbl.

11:30 am

** getting all misty-eyed and philosophical ** sigh.....!

11:30 am

You're only as old as you feel! (In that case I need my blankie) Huh...youth is not something to enjoy...far too much hair gel involved...

11:31 am

*sneaks in and tickles Babbler with a feather* Happiness is everything :) Age is just a number...

11:32 am

in that case, I'll be 21 forever!!! I loved my youth. I love my age now too. hooo hoooo!!! Anj is tickling me!! heheehehehee :D

11:32 am

Any clues for the ch5/24 please?

11:33 am

Well said, Anj! Though I'm dying to come out with some cheesy punchline...you're only as old as the man you feel! *shudders*

11:33 am

Boysaway -- ohmmmmmmm ohmmmmmmm ohmmmmmmmm m

11:33 am

or as Torgone said recently -- "you're only as old as your feet" LOL !

11:33 am

Boys - a section of a book got cut short :)

11:33 am

I'm only as old as the woman I feel hee hee ;)

11:34 am

how old is she, Anj?

11:34 am

Hm...I don't get it and I'm not sure if I want to get it either!

11:34 am

Anj - *groans*

11:34 am

lol Miyavi :) Now I know we have the same sense of humour :D

11:34 am

If I said that, Anj, I'd be in trouble, since the last thing I did was give my gran a head massage :/

11:34 am

thanks sherb. Babbler, I had that one but thanks

11:35 am

Babbler, no idea, i'm not feeling anything at the moment :(

11:35 am

I didn't have the one Sherb suggested. Soz Boysaway. Thx Sherb!

11:36 am

oh luv! You're lovely, you won't be single for long....!

11:36 am

Aah, are you missing me?

11:36 am

lol Anj...it's that slightly strange, verging on dirty-minded sense of humour! Though my sense of humour is very immature...this naff joke my friend told me had me in stitches for hours...I just wish I knew why...

11:37 am

tell me the naff joke, Miy!! Pleeeez!??!? I love naff jokes!

11:37 am

Miyavi fan, I don't beileve for one moment that you are the age you are claiming in your profile!

11:38 am

You know I just half a person when you're not about babe :')

11:38 am

Okay, but I warn you, it goes off the scale in terms of naffness...there were two sausages in a frying pan, and the first one says "cor, getting a bit hot in here!" and the other one says "blimey! a talking sausage!"

11:38 am

Miyavi - your spelling and punctuation are too good for a 13 year old...

11:38 am

Exactly sherb!!!

11:39 am

Why not, Boys? Does my youthful charm and exuberance not shine through?! (ahem)

11:39 am

*sighs* i'm I'M... *shakes head* Miyavi - lol :D

11:39 am

If a 13 year old is taught spelling and punctuation there is no reason why they should not be proficient. The problem in this country is that spelling and grammar are no longer taught properly!

11:40 am

lovely naff joke!!!! thx Miyavi, I'll giggle over that for the rest of the day! You're very confident for a 13 year old. But I suppose kids today are much more sophisticated than they were in my day....

11:40 am

I'm climbing down off my high horse now!

11:41 am

I always got top marks for spelling at school! My Dad taught me at home. He was a brilliant teacher.

11:41 am

She's not 13, she's 37!

11:41 am

Haz - hear, hear! :)

11:41 am

Can I have some help please?!?! AN5/14 and AN6/24

11:41 am

11:42 am

Miyavi fan

11:42 am

My turn :) Duck goes into a bar and says to the barman "Pint of guinness and a packet of cheesy wotsits please" "Sure" says the barman "that'll be £5" The duck pays up and is about to waddle off when the barman says in the way of small talk "you know, we don't get many talking ducks in here" and the duck says "i'm not bl**dy surprised at those prices"

11:42 am

11:43 am

11:43 am

11:47 am

Anj - wow!

11:47 am

11:47 am

12:09 pm

Hugs - that one had me scratching my head. It's an extension of an lo4 :)

12:09 pm

yes. My brother emails me in txt spk. Makes me nervous!!!

12:09 pm

Babbler - It's the first person that comes to my mind too. I told my daughter that she better not be using text speak while chatting with her friends in MSN.

12:09 pm

I took a Babble break & my son scribbled all over my word worksheet... very colorful chart I have now, LOL!

12:09 pm

Ah, text speak confuses me so...a friend of mine came on msn and said: "lo c sat gonna b wel jks innit!" What?! WHAT?!

12:10 pm

Cough, i speak 2 all my Friends on MSN My teacher tell me not to, or i will in my GSCE';s

12:10 pm

12:10 pm

Chris u aint gna get any GCSE lazy bum

12:10 pm

Sherb - I got it as soon as you said that. Thank you. *sigh* Why didn't I think of that last night.

12:11 pm

J.Kingdom...how can you do it?! Feels so strange to me, I always type in full on msn. Perhaps one of the reasons my friends are disowning me :)

12:12 pm

Hugs - I can't take any credit. I only got it from a clue in the log :)

12:12 pm

l8rz or in full launge C u l8r

12:12 pm

Pricey shut up, though u r probs right, and if ur friend r disowning u i'll teach u txt

12:12 pm

Babbler...uh, sort of. I think she was saying she was going to have a good time on saturday. But worse than text speak is chav speak...apparently, this guy I know "sploffed his fozza with a red stinka" *backs away looking scared*

12:12 pm

I always type in full in MSN and Skype too. Figuring out abbreviations slows me down. (speedy typist)

12:13 pm

.... and I can spell!!!

12:13 pm

wha???? chav speak???? what's that? what was that sentence? I'm soooooo out of touch! I am a rock I am an island......

12:13 pm

Don't worry, J.Kingdom, most of the time I just ask my friends to translate. Then get my own back by typing in foreign languages. Japanese, usually ^_^

12:14 pm

I suppose text speak disguises someone's inability to spell. How would you know?

12:14 pm

Wow, Babbler, go to the top of the class and give the teacher a banana!

12:14 pm

12:16 pm

12:16 pm

I have never heard of a yellow-ish red dye that starts with an, but then I'm a painter... any more google-able hints for the an7??

12:16 pm

I always thought it would be really hard to learn Japanese. But I was watching a late night BBC2 learn languages programme, and it didn't seem too bad! I know konichiwa (sp!)

12:16 pm

lol o yea, thats Laugh Out Loud for all u non txt speakers

12:17 pm

Jera - my favourite, the lipstick tree :)

12:17 pm

I'm with you, Hugs and Babbler...when I'm slow answering on msn, my friends think it's taking me a long time to type out my answer. I'm not, I'm trying to figure out what they've said!

12:21 pm

1:54 pm

Wahey, back! Deutsch, the icon is a dude called Kyo from my favourite band...sorry about the late reply, my stomach said it was food time :)

In fact, if you got a moment (Baldrick), it's a twelve-storey crisis with a magnificent entrance hall, carpetting throughout, 24-hour portage, and an enormous sign on the roof, saying 'This Is a Large Crisis'. A large crisis requires a large plan. Get me two pencils and a pair of underpants

2:07 pm

Movieman, Red Dwarf was the funniest thing to come out of the BBC in years. I'm torn between buying the individual series with all the extras or wait for the full series box set to appear...

Yay Lola!!!

2:07 pm

Could ne1 (if they have completed them) plz, PLZ post a list of the c's?

2:17 pm

mab: read your bio and see you are from MA where exactly? I am south shore near Plymouth

2:17 pm

Like you say, Anj, just another day at the office lol. But will it freak me out if I watch it? I scare easily and since seeing the Ring I've decided to be more careful!

2:18 pm

I would do try that, Lola, but with a name like Eve I have good idea what I would get.

2:20 pm

mab- you should have seen what I got!!! :O

2:21 pm

Hey Speed, i'm from Plymouth too, although the one on this side of the pond :)

2:27 pm

Miy, whereabouts?? I'm a Laira boy myself :)

2:28 pm

Whereabouts? Good question...

2:28 pm

the Albert Hall do was a bit special - highlight of the evening was visiting the little boys room and having a pee in between Nick hancock and Andy Flintoff. Thats definately never happened to me b4!

2:29 pm

Plymstock I think...maybe. Moved away when I was ridiculously small...and yes, another icon. I know, I know...

2:31 pm

List of L's Please (grovel grovel)

2:31 pm

Miyavi I feel soooo computer illiterate since I have not even figured out how to do one icon and you change every five minutes!!!

2:32 pm

Anj - with reference to your earlier post - definately buy the Red Dwarf DVDs - the commentaries are actually funnier than the programs!! Fantastic stuff.

2:32 pm

Heh! I had to ask someone how to get an icon, it kept rejecting me...but now I have one, I'm exploiting it ^_^

2:32 pm

Miy that's where my aunt/uncle live. Folks are still in Laira, cousins in London & Bath. Small world...

2:32 pm

clue please for the oc6???

2:32 pm

Speed: I find it difficult too. Could only get the site to take the one I have -- too theological.

2:32 pm

Never mind with the L's I have them now

2:33 pm

Small indeedy...though not small enough for english shops to stock j-rock, I notice *sulks*

2:34 pm

Hi Dachef...as in each series rather than the full whack in one go??

2:36 pm

HA5/20 HA4/7 HO4/9 HO5/16 HO4/7 any clues as to what I am missing?

2:36 pm

mab: where are you located in Mass?? Or do you not want to tell which is ok

2:37 pm

From D.C., but now Northampton.

2:37 pm

as for waiting for the boxset - they still have to bring out series 7/8 individually, so you may be some time. Its a collection well worth having - especially when you've seen them so many times you can spot the in-jokes!

2:37 pm

patact- the last part is your ho4/7.

2:38 pm

Hate it. I am a city woman, I discover.

2:38 pm

jake's mum--another ho4/9

2:38 pm

Wow Mab you sure did go from big city to boondocks!

2:39 pm

Jakes-mum: ha4/10...very funny?

2:39 pm

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeextraordinar y!

2:39 pm

smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

2:40 pm

Oookay...have to go, but can't resist changing my icon one more time...see y'all tomorrow :)

2:40 pm

Lola you are sooooooooooooooo good to me!!

2:40 pm

many thanks lola. I've NEVER been this close to finishing a puzzle. Only 9 words left to unearth

2:41 pm

Also Japanese for mother, Lola. Sorry. I can never tell when I should shut up!

2:41 pm

"Oh smeg, what the smeg's he smegging done? He's smegging killed me!!!" (Lister - Bodyswap (Series 3, episode 5))

2:41 pm

'Bye miyavi :)

2:41 pm

Divorce brought me here. I thought I could live inexpensively but found the cost of living high and the wages low. Not to mention there are fewer jobs for one with indistinct skills. Are you a Massachusettsian, Speed?

2:42 pm

'nite Miyavi :)

2:42 pm

wow, I step out for a few minutes and miss everything!

2:42 pm

traaa Miyavi! Hi, I'm back!

2:42 pm

Ciao, Miyavi

2:43 pm

2:45 pm

I know theres only 109 words here today, but is anyone finding it like pulling teeth? I think ive been away for too long, cant see a thing!!!

2:46 pm

thx Lola!

2:47 pm

Dachef I think it's cos there's no plurals or many compound words - each word is different - if you know what I mean!

2:47 pm

anyone got a breakdown of Ls handy? I have 3, dunno what the other 2 are. thx!

2:48 pm

checking my icon, my 16 yr. old came home and helped me

2:48 pm

Has anyone got a list of P's please!

2:48 pm

Dachef, I may be very bad at this, but I have found about half the words obscure today.

2:48 pm

yeh - your natural train of thought becomes disjointed because after one word you have to go in a totally different direction to find another. A bit like going on the pull in Bournemouth!

2:49 pm

s'alright...... I've completed the Ls instinctively!!!

2:49 pm

ummm, will take your word for that Dachef!

2:50 pm

Jax, from an earlier posting: pa5 14 pa4 6 pa5 14 ph4 9 ph5 20 ph5 20 pi4 6 pi5 14 pi4 6 pi4 6 pi5 14 pi7 36 pi5 14 pi4 6 pi5 14 pi8 60 po4 8 po5 18 po4 6 po6 24

2:50 pm

Dachef, lol re Bournemouth :)

2:52 pm

Anj: Is Bournemouth another tv show?

2:52 pm

I like the icon speed :)

2:53 pm

Bournemouth is a town on the south coast of Blighty, where I happen to reside.

2:53 pm

Thx Lola I was so excited just to learn how to do it now I'll probably change once in awhile

2:54 pm

Did anyone ever post a list of the t's???

2:54 pm

Help with the PI8 please (oh dear I am doing badly tonight)

2:54 pm

I'm sorry Dachef trying to follow some of the conversation and got confused

2:54 pm

swmbo- gimme a sec and I'll do them for you :)

2:55 pm

mind you, it is a bit like a tv show sometimes. We have a particular kind of nutter in Bournemouth.

2:55 pm

pi8: a meager amount of money

2:56 pm

ta 4 4 ta 5 10 ta 6 24 ta 5 10 ti 4 4 ti 6 24 ti 5 10 to 4 4

2:56 pm

Speed, it has the reputation for being a good hunting ground with the twist that it's the women that are not exactly backward in being forward :) They hunt in packs down there :/

2:56 pm

;)

2:57 pm

So nothing much has changed since I lived in Bmth 15 years ago then!

2:57 pm

Well Anj and Dachef with that definition it could be a tv show!!!

2:57 pm

And the PO6/24 Please (sigh)

2:57 pm

tyvm Lola!

2:58 pm

po6 24: no def, but take a four letter word for bridge (french etc) and add on

3:01 pm

thank you swmbo

3:01 pm

Jax I haven't been down recently as my drinking buddy moved to Bracknell (so we now all meet up in London 'cos the 3rd part of our triumvirate lives in Chelmsford), but it was always a bit lively lol :)

3:02 pm

JaxH - definately not!

3:05 pm

Sorry to be a pain but clue for the Ca6/30 which isn't a leader

3:27 pm

Are there 3 or 4 co 5/14 words as I have 3 and can't find the 4th? Already have that animal Anj. Ta

blank before e except after ....

3:28 pm

I think I peaked a couple of weeks ago when I actually completed a puzzle (of course I ended up at the chiriproactor the next day, but what would life be without bodily damage?), and since then I haven't come anywhere near! Am still missing 30 words and have no idea where to find them. Just drove from Boston back to Vermont and was glad to find I could play the new version. Time to get off the computer and cook some noodle kugel and sweet challah for tomorrow.

3:28 pm

there are 4 co5/14

3:28 pm

Thanks. Georgia O'Keefe. Clashes with my handbag.

3:29 pm

I've got that Deb, but it won't work with any of my co 4/6

3:29 pm

Sheila, have you tried adding i to your co4/6?

3:30 pm

Anj, thanks have got the oc clue at long last, just that dratted co5/14 to go!

3:30 pm

3:30 pm

There are 2 x cot: terra ***** and a maths term that sounds like people sunbathing together.

3:30 pm

3:31 pm

3:36 pm

As I drove from Boston the leaves changed more and more the further north I got. But this warm weather seems to be slowing it down. Have relatives coming from israel next week who have always wanted to see peak foliage and if it doesn't hurry up and change I might have to go out there with spray paint. Beautiful anyway.

3:36 pm

Babs, think foxy chick P...hontas ;)

3:37 pm

i know, all the leaf-peepers are in their tour buses driving around burlington with nothing to see yet

3:37 pm

No wonder I couldn't find the ni6/24 - there wasn't one! Thanks!

3:51 pm

Way to go Babbler ...

3:51 pm

4:01 pm

I've had a few probs with Babble today, Liana. It kept freezing and doing that Beta-Blocker thing where it lost words I'd already put in. Most infuriating!!

4:02 pm

If the words can be made in more than one place, the game will show only the first occurnce.

4:02 pm

Hey Brandyjack!!!!! How are you?

4:03 pm

Ty, Jack. That's what happened. I see it twice. Appreciate your help. :)

4:03 pm

The word in question is an on4/6 and it can be made with the middle O first.

4:04 pm

I'm doing good. Haven't been babbling much. My ISP was one of the lamers that didn't update at the proper time.

4:04 pm

ahhhaaa! I was wondering where you were. Lots of us missed you (well, your stats lists, to be specific!)

4:05 pm

4:09 pm

Thank you brandyjack.

4:10 pm

I keep forgetting to get the candied ginger..... Not common around here.

4:11 pm

I used fresh ginger. Did that make it worse?? You can get candied ginger online. Ebay, or plenty of other mail order companies. If I see one, I'll post you the web address.

4:11 pm

Hi all, Just logged on after a busy day, had all 5 grandchildren this afternoon, they're all fed, bathed and asleep now - I'm barely sane! Brandyjack - nice to see you, your stats ahve been sorely missed.

4:13 pm

Hi Snowyowl

4:13 pm

Hi Snowyowl!

4:13 pm

I was at a tradeshow in Montreal most of the week. My hours tended to interfere with the proper posting of the stats. PLus I didn't have the stat generator on my Laptops. It's there now.....

4:14 pm

please has anyone a clue for the pi7/36.....I would be most grateful

4:15 pm

cor!! I can just imagine you next time you're at a tradeshow. "Excuse me, gentlemen, urgent business to attend to......" !! Then posting us our stats! lol !

4:16 pm

any clues for the da5?

4:17 pm

I'm really glad it was only work, wasworried that you'd deserted us! We did miss you as well as the stats of course!

4:18 pm

I second that, Snowyowl!

4:18 pm

Well fellow babblers, time for me to get some sleep. See you all tomorrow, goodnight :)

4:18 pm

86 words to go. Surprised at this puzzles relative ease. Usually a 100 word puzzle tends toward the most obscure words....

4:19 pm

you are wonderful Babbler I got it immediately thanks

4:19 pm

Nite nite Lola!!!! Sweet dreams! 'see' you tomorrow!

4:19 pm

'Night Lola - sweet dreams.

4:19 pm

Mo -- yehIknow

4:20 pm

4:20 pm

'Night lola! Sweet dreams of Dr. House!

4:20 pm

babbler- lol! When you go pro you'll have to get him as your icon!

4:20 pm

I'll hang out for another 30 mins or so, to help with clues. Then I'm going to watch One Night At McCool's. Looks good....

4:21 pm

5:24 pm

Once its open, you can highlight (by dragging over the text you want) Bradyjacks stats, then click CTRL+C, then you can open notepad and paste them using CTRL+V. :-) Then, you can size your Notepad window, neatly next to your Babble words and compare what you're missing. Its a lifesaver ... :-)

5:25 pm

Thanks, Sandypops, but what's the other one?

5:26 pm

JO..this is why i never finish a puzzle..i get so frustrated. Maybe this will HELP!!!!! ty so much for the advice..am an old lady..(no excuse, I know!)

5:27 pm

Liana: it's so easy once you do it. I define brandyjack's stats (hold down left mouse button while moving it), then click on edit and click Copy. Go to your document, click edit again, and click Paste. Then you can minimize the size of the document so you just see it's title at the bottom of the page and you can call it up whenever you need it.

5:27 pm

Only through practice, lianakate! ;-) If you figure it out, it'll make this so much easier. Happy Babbling!

5:27 pm

You GOT it Mab!! The tricks of the trade, LOL!

5:28 pm

Oops. Just enough information to really confuse you.

5:28 pm

Lianakate, I suggest we copy these directions so we can remember them. thanks for the help!

5:47 pm

5:50 pm

Congrats Katmayo - It feels great doesn't it!

5:50 pm

Way to go katmayo!!! Fanfare, Fireworks! :-)

5:52 pm

Please give a hint to co 6/39 and co 7/36. I got a late start today.

5:52 pm

brandyjack - it is http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabbl ersanonymous

5:53 pm

Haz, I tried to follow your en5 directions, but my map must be folded wrong...

5:53 pm

Deutshc, I know the feeling! I have 9 words to go and don't know if I can summon up the energy to carry on.

5:55 pm

Oh Haz hold on in there, if it makes you feel any better I've got 22 left!

5:55 pm

Sorry, Jera, my geography isn't great but it's hard to think of a clue. En followed by the first part of the drink *** Maria. After a few of those, you'd have NO sense of direction!

5:56 pm

Sorry, I don't drink... I'm just really hard to help tonight...

5:56 pm

snowyowl, I've 22 more to go. But this is the closest I've ever gotten to finishing, so I'm still excited! If a little buggy from babbling all day.

5:57 pm

Is there a definition... something googleable?

5:57 pm

Well, if anyone needs to feel better, I have 31 to go, LOL!

5:58 pm

Jera, do you know of the actress *** carara? Mispell her first name with en before it.

5:58 pm

cbr, thanks. finally found it digging thru the archives. And manged to register using my own name......... Lianakate & deutsch should also head there....

5:59 pm

Ok, I've got to go. I can't even spell misspell.

5:59 pm

yeah, got it, thanks all... it's a group effort to get me to see the light..

5:59 pm

Where, Brandjack? I tried the link, but the page expired. do you have a link?

6:00 pm

cbr's link has a space in the middle that you have to eradicate first.

6:00 pm

What is this wordfinder site? Might help me so I can stop begging you guys for every other word?

6:01 pm

http://p105.ezboard.com/bbabbl ersanonymous

6:01 pm

a2zwordfinder DOT COM

6:01 pm

brandyjack - not sure why it had the space, I didn;t put it there - it kjust posted that way

6:02 pm

http://www.a2zwordfinder.com/ or http://www.puzzlers.org/wor dlists/grepdict.php

6:03 pm

I think Dr God may have done something as it mangled mine too.

6:07 pm

glad to know it wasn;t only me! I signed up a long time ago when it was posted but haven;t actually posted to it yet

6:10 pm

thanks bandyjack and jo. a2z is most helpful!

6:12 pm

btw, the ha4/10, with a the in front of it, is an excellent book.

6:16 pm

Can anyone help with the CH 6/39?

6:18 pm

Jo, give it a second ch****

6:18 pm

Deutsch, OMG .. I'm so STOOOpid. :-( Thank you!

6:19 pm

No you're not, Jo. Everyone (meaning me, too) needs a little help once in a while.

6:20 pm

A warning about A2Z, it doesn't always have all the words. Whereas puzzlers.org does have them all.

6:24 pm

brandyjack, so true about a2z, but wow about puzzlers.org. I plan to explore that site more on Monday.

6:25 pm

The one caveat about puzzlers.org is remembering to select the Enable dictionary.

6:27 pm

I must run, y'all. someone has just announced the cocktail hour. Thanks for all your help today. If you hear from doogle, say hi from me.

6:27 pm

Bye Deutsch

6:29 pm

hi guys any idea of total words

6:29 pm

--- Word Sizes --- 4 - 50 5 - 36 6 - 14 7 - 7 8 - 1 9 - 1 --- 109 Words Total --- --- 1st Letter Count --- A - 10 B - 1 C - 34 D - 1 E - 3 F - 2 H - 7 I - 3 L - 5 N - 12 O - 3 P - 20 T - 8

6:33 pm

Well, I can't get the c07 even with a2z, LOL! Help!

6:36 pm

The co 7 is like the word 'to give permission' but with a different letter in the middle.

6:38 pm

Thank you... I must be babbled to have missed trying that as a possibility... sheesh

6:42 pm

My final word - it's the co6. Any clues/letter values would be appreciated.

6:43 pm

Any clues please for co 6/39 and co7/36?

6:44 pm

Co6 is a seashell that you can blow into (with a vowel tqacked on the end) and co7 is something you put other things into.

6:44 pm

co6/39 - its the shell+ a

6:45 pm

Blessings be upon you! I've finished and can now go to bed!

6:45 pm

Thanks, snowy and brandjack. I had tried that one with a different vowel on the end.

6:46 pm

Congrats Haz- It was worth hanging on then!

6:47 pm

Yes - the annoying thing is that no-one else in the house realises the significance of my triumph...

6:48 pm

I know the feeling - everyone here thinks I've lost it completely - even the grandkids!

6:49 pm

I think I have marked off the wrong "t" words. Would someone please tell me which ones I'm missing: ta 4 4 ta 5 10 ta 6 24 ti 6 24 to 4 4

6:49 pm

How close are you to finishing, Snowyowl?

6:49 pm

well, am back to try to finish, BUT..the notepad thingy wont let me cut and paste!!!!! Any suggestions?..This is new to me, but recommended by JO so i dont have to write down everything by hand!!

6:50 pm

i still have 19...sigh

6:51 pm

lianakate, you need to click at the start of the text, hold the button, drag it to the end of the text. and release. it should be higlighted blue. move the mouse to somewhere in the middle of the highlighter text, RIGHT-click and release, then choose copy. Move to the notepad window, rightclick and release, choose paste.

6:52 pm

I've still got 14 to go Haz - to tell you the truth I'm VERY tired & not trying very hard! I'm also listening to radio 7 while I'm babbling! I try to get to bed before 1.30 so we'll see

6:54 pm

I could use an N list I am two short..... I have gone back over 100 messages and can not find anything. Or one of the famous Brandy Jack second letter lists would be even better. Thanks

6:55 pm

I wish you all the best for the rest of the night's babbling. Don't stay up too late, Snowyowl - there are still no fireworks when you finish!

My fingers are dizzy from monkeytyping. Help please with ti 4/4 and ti 5/10.

7:03 pm

periwinkle - a large venomous elapid snake of Australia & New Guinea

7:03 pm

peri - the first syllable sounds like the beginning of a martial arts class and the second is something you cook in

7:04 pm

LOL Snowy, now I know the definition. If my 8 year old grandson had been here, he could have told me. He loves snakes!

7:05 pm

thank you munner and snowyowl, I actually got it from munner's explicit clue.

7:08 pm

Does anyone have a second letter list of the Ls?

7:10 pm

brandyjack, may I have a clue for the lo6 please

7:12 pm

7:14 pm

Just got the final lo. lo4,6 lo4,9 lo6,33 lo4,6 l o4,4

7:18 pm

Brandyjack my hero! You're back! Where have you been? I've missed you, your breakdown lists, and your witty conversation (not necessarily in that order). Thanks Honey.

7:20 pm

That said, I'm missing 2 7s. The F7 and the P7. Help. Please?

7:21 pm

thanks brandyjack, found all of the L's

7:22 pm

I can't find the ni4/6 and the no6/24, help please

7:22 pm

fo7 is a kind of soft cheese

7:22 pm

It's the Tradeshow time of year again. I tend to be out of town a bit. And with 18 hour days, babbling isn't possible. To answer lianakates' question more thoroughly, I frequently have to teach product managers how to use their products and sometimes that involves some pretty intricate and detailed steps.

7:23 pm

for the pi7 - take one of Columbuses three ships and add a negative response to the end

7:24 pm

periwinkle & brandyjack, my brain is not clever tonight. Can you give me more on the lo 6/33?

7:24 pm

never mind, found the ni/4 and no6

7:25 pm

Thanks CBR! You're awesome! Now I just have to find 67 4s, 5s, and 6s. No problem!

7:25 pm

I've got 34 left - happy to help if I can

7:25 pm

Munner, do you have the lo4/9, just add an ending. It was a guess for me. Never heard of the word.

7:26 pm

the lo6,33 stats with the lo4,9, but you need to use the one that stays at the top of the grid, and add a two letter ending that usually spcifies singular for a noun that starts with a vowel.

7:26 pm

I'm missing 2 a's coming from the second a. Can anyone give me some hefty hints?

7:26 pm

Also if you have the LO4/9 make sure you spell it going up and not going down.

7:26 pm

-periwinkle, I was going on the left instead of across the top. Thanks.

7:27 pm

I may eventually be able to spell specifies correctly tonight, but I'm not going to bet on it.....

7:28 pm

I have o4/6 and 0/6/33. What one am I missing/?

7:29 pm

o 4/4 periwinkle, the easy one

7:29 pm

periwinkle - I need the 06/33 if you have a hint

7:30 pm

i am so stuck with the a's any help with an5, an6. an7???

7:30 pm

your is an o4/4 and it is an easy one - I think you wil be o___ it soon

7:30 pm

I will never finish this..LOL> Interruptions abound! Just when i learned how to use notepad..i get phone calls from every tom dick, and harry..well, thats just a line..no men...LOL.

7:30 pm

I promise this is my last request. (Need to get to bed earlier tonight as I start radiation tomorrow.) I need the na 5/14.

7:30 pm

Hey, that sounded gloomy. Just my last request tonight. I'll be back tomorrow :)

7:30 pm

Duh, thanks Munner, Not sure how I missed that one. Also I am missing an e. I have ec4/9 and en5/10. What am I missing. Hope it isn't anything too obvious.

7:31 pm

7:34 pm

ty mab

7:35 pm

an 5: tack on what is usually a prefix meaning 'against.'

7:35 pm

cbr1965, no def. for the o/6. My scrabble dictionary says it means : alas. My hint would be: starts with oc and ends with the first number. Hope this helps.

7:35 pm

Brandyjack, could you possibly give me some hints for the following two? I've gone round in circles so many times that i"m dizzy and still haven't found them. Thanks so much! an 5/14 an6/24

7:36 pm

Thoughts and prayers for you, Munner.

7:36 pm

got it peri - thanks much

7:37 pm

I hate to be a quitter, but with 26 still to go and I'm stuck on the C's and N's, well, I have to quit. I haven't completed a game since I got my new icon (fireworks!) Tomorrow is another day, please don't let it be a biggy.

7:39 pm

i looked up google lipstick tree..and found the word..and its in the puzzle..but it wont accept it..I think i am just cursed today...

7:40 pm

liana - add an extra t

7:40 pm

add an extra letter Lianakate

7:40 pm

Eva, the def for the An6/24 is - A projecting bracket that is used in classical architecture to carry the upper elements of a cornice; a console. The An5/14 doesn't seem to have an easy def, bit just lop off the last vowel of the an6/24

7:40 pm

Liana: I had same problem; just noodle with the spelling.

7:41 pm

lianakate, I went through that for what felt like eons earlier today. The spelling is different. try a double t near the end and it will work.

7:41 pm

thanks CBR..i got it, thanks to those who helped me..:)

7:43 pm

Thanks for the ANs Brandyjack.

7:43 pm

errrr..lol, the an6 clue, anyone? (batting eyelashes prettily)..

7:44 pm

Google Brandyjacks 7:40pm definition

7:44 pm

Liana: add on the thing that you serve ice cream in that is edible.

7:46 pm

I am stuck on the NO6. May I have a clue please?

7:47 pm

Thanks everyone! So satisfying to see those maddening a's blacked out on the grid!!!

7:49 pm

mab..i just noodled it..thank you!!

7:50 pm

Looks like penniless mab, but really means guilty.

7:51 pm

Not at all. I agree with Eva, it is so satisfying to watch the grid gray out. It definitely heightens my enjoyment of the game, which is, admittedly, a little odd.

7:51 pm

that was a great clue GeoBabble - thanks

7:52 pm

Thank you Geo.

7:52 pm

mab..it sounds like a small coin..(the smallest in value) ad that on to the no..:)

7:54 pm

OK - just for the record [sounds like I really care] - I finished the grid - have all the words --- but it didn't count one of the C7's I put in. At the time I entered it, it read an error msg. but if I try to reenter it, it reads that it is already there - which it is. Even Babble gets babbled sometimes!!!!

7:54 pm

Got it. Thanks very much.

7:59 pm

8:15 pm

There are so many obscure words that familiar ones become difficult to see, or recognize, after a long period of looking.

8:18 pm

Oh my goodness! (Slip a little brandy into their milk) Goodnight Lianakate.

8:48 pm

the silence is deafening....

8:50 pm

I'm down to 7 left so I'll start asking for help really soon - hope others are still out there!

8:51 pm

I'm tapping away for my last word, a ta5. It feels like I've tried all possible combinations, but obviously haven't. Do you have a clue, brandyjack?

8:51 pm

hi! does anyone have any clues for the 8 and 9 letter words? :-)

8:54 pm

Hmmm. Lone ranger's sidekick? Jay Silverheels I think it was...

8:57 pm

Every single combination but that one. Thanks brandyjack. Brother....

Pi / 8 / 60 : A very small amount Co / 9 / 90 : build on Ca/7/44

8:58 pm

For the Co9/90, when you have two of these on a ship, the visitor would normally be bumped to commodore. Someone obviously never heard of this rule and considers the visitor to be a co-*******.

8:59 pm

awwww yeah! you guys (gal?) rawk! thank you! 30 more to go. :-)

hey Brandyjack could u save me from scrolling and tell me how many words in this cube? Thanks :))

9:00 pm

For the Pi8/60, to a teenager, an allowance of $5 per week is a mere pi******.

9:00 pm

9:22 pm

Dianne - used in mountain climbing.

9:26 pm

Doogle - the only mountain I ever climbed was in a cable car. Does it rhyme with anything familiar?

9:27 pm

I'm stuck 2 t's short, ta6 and ti 6, nudges cheerfully accepted

9:27 pm

Actually, rhymes with a mountain, one of the Grand Te****. :)

9:29 pm

Ti6/24 - Tiny Tim and his Ti**** thru the Tulips.

9:29 pm

Doogle - your terrific - thanks.

9:30 pm

Ta6/24 is a large snake, that sounds like it starts with martial arts (or a republic of china) and ends with something you would fry eggs in.

9:33 pm

Oh for heavens sake - if I could only see through the tulips instead of stopping to smell..... Thanks BrandyJck

9:33 pm

I figured something that offensive had to be obvious....

9:44 pm

I need a hint for the CO6 please.

9:47 pm

10:07 pm

Dogle, been trying to finish this game. Within 20 words. Argh. Did you find dog?

10:08 pm

No, never found her. My aunt's dog Daisy got out through a hole in the fence while we were over at my grandmother's place and is still AWOL.

10:11 pm

sorry I misspelled, Doogle. Been having that problem all night. Hope Daisy finds her home soon.

10:16 pm

A hint for the IN6 please?

10:20 pm

Ni 5/10? Doogle? Maybe a rhyme?

10:21 pm

Minski, think monotone or singsong voice. lame, I know. but you know this word

10:22 pm

Ni5/10 is a synonym for radon. Probably rhymes with the Pi5/14.

10:22 pm

Thanks Deustch. You are right. I do know that word. Tired fingers I guess.

10:26 pm

thanks, Doogle!

10:29 pm

All done. Any clues needed? If not, my book beckons...

11:57 pm

better than two days ago when I was putting in the last word when it changed....to day has been full of too much reality ....

11:59 pm
