12:10 am

Its not there.

12:10 am

because that's racist you heartless boor

12:10 am

anybody know how many words on this one?

12:10 am

Hi :) Could someone please tell me how many total words?

12:10 am

jk

12:10 am

It's there, but it's a proper noun.

12:10 am

yeah it is, it just says it's not a word

12:11 am

239 words...

12:11 am

It actually isn't racist, but it is a proper noun.

12:11 am

donde esta Brandy Jack? anyone.... Bueller????

12:11 am

239 total words...

12:12 am

i know but i had a feeling and went with it

12:12 am

Thanks, Niamh! :)

12:12 am

is there a way to see the word lists for past puzzles?

12:12 am

indian is a proper noun... but it's also a culture and sooo many other things... that is weird to me that it wouldn't accept it

12:12 am

t7/44

theres a pretty bad f word on here

12:13 am

Skeet - Go to the archives or yesterday's puzzle, and click on one of the top names to get their word list.

12:13 am

skeet, you can go back to yesturday's puzzle and click on one of the names of people that finished the puzzle and it will list the words (so I'm told.. haven't tried it)

12:13 am

j4/11 j5/24

12:13 am

no such thing as a "bad" word, only bad usage

12:13 am

Doogle: Lot's of long words in this behemoth, yes?

12:14 am

Niamh, that was my point Oh well, I'll catch on eventually

12:14 am

thanx

12:14 am

dictionary.com has an entry for indian that is not a proper noun (not capitalized, anyway)

12:14 am

oh yeah, j 6/39

12:14 am

tru dat, darleen, just ask the brits

12:15 am

12:15 am

Skeet - The most recent puzzles may take a while to load, due to the influx of seemingly millions of new players. Be patient.

12:15 am

What's the bad f-word? I see fat - that's the only one I don't like! <grin>

12:15 am

if it remember correctly it means a bundle of sticks, or a smoke

12:15 am

pistol, no need, Americans are bad enough, LOL

12:16 am

that 's what you get for spending high school english class looking up "bad" words

12:18 am

Don't let that stop you from putting them in, pistol. Babble takes all slurs.

12:18 am

Indeed, Mab. How are ya? Sorry for the delay - I was poking around in my friendly neighborhood grid. :)

12:20 am

It's unusual for me to find so many six-letter words. I usually start with the itty bitty ones. I therefore knew the total number of words had to be largish.

12:22 am

is there a first letter count yet?

12:23 am

does the gentleman who does the first letter counts have a program or something that does that... he's very quick about it. I figured when I paid for my membership that would be included... but alas it's not!!

12:24 am

Hi Everyone! Did you find them all for me? ;o)

12:25 am

if the letter count etc isn't included in the membership what's the point?

12:25 am

What do you need, Hugs?

12:25 am

Niamh: Brandyjack does it when he can, but if you look at your grid you can count up the number of words for each letter.

12:25 am

the letter count IS part of the membership... shows up just like the grid with the number of words for each letter

12:26 am

you get a grid that shows how many words start with each letter in the grid... plus you can put cute pictures of your pets on here :~))

12:26 am

or cute pics of your fave movie actor...

12:26 am

Those tantalizing eights and nines are waiting for you Hugs.

12:27 am

12:27 am

Dr_God we need a log chatter blocker .... this is not an IM log

1:16 am

did you mean to post that somewhere else, mitch? i was just wondering, because it was in 3rd person...thought maybe you were talking to someone else

hey, I just purchased this game but I am going to ask for a refund. Didn't realize that we couldn't talk here. it was fun but not so much now.

1:17 am

I was replying to Mab post :)

1:18 am

perhaps that was a bit of a rant...best we just move on

1:18 am

That's a good point. I really am sorry for being the catalyst. You know, everyone is not familiar with US tvv programs; we should really stop. The log is going to be impossible for anyone to navigate today.

1:18 am

This is 'playbabble' - not babble.

1:18 am

Yes, I guess the posting nazi has spoken - you can type, but it shall be censored to fit someone's opinion of what is right or you shall be damned...

A simple request would have gone over with me much better than getting snarky about it.

1:19 am

people are going to have a blast reading this log--loads of diehard kramer fans

1:19 am

no you kids stop it right now... i will not hesitate to drive this car right off a cliff

my apologies to all

Does anyone have a y 7 or 8?

1:20 am

yeah this is a babble post, but i didn't think i was offending anyone when quoting seinfeld.

1:20 am

pistol--lol still laughing

1:21 am

Any other Browncoats on this board? I'm just wondering. Been lovin' reading all the Seinfeld stuff. Does anyone know how many J words there are? Over two years ago when I started playing this game, some folks used to converse in French, Dutch, or Espanol (whether they were talking about Babble or not, I do not know). But I've always read tons of off topic stuff here.

1:21 am

Wow - I shut up long enough to find 6 words!

1:21 am

fmitch apologies not needed.... right Newman?

1:22 am

Look. This chat log has always been open to everything but disrespect. If you have a problem with the log, hide it or ignore it. It's kind of an open forum for people playing the game, and I like it that way. Yeah, it gets clogged up sometimes, but this will pass.

1:22 am

why are you apologizing fmitch

1:22 am

Please, please -- I sort of started this. Please stop. Let's keep the party polite, OK?

1:22 am

I think you can chat however you want to if it isn't offensive to anyone else .....life is too short

1:23 am

yeah life is short, there's also this thing called freedom of speech

1:23 am

I repeat: Does anyone have a y 7 or 8?

1:24 am

We don't usually argue. Please be nice all.

rolin apart from the gran the 2 I've got are single and plural, where the s is the singular one if you see what I mean, it rhymes with a ta4/4

11:42 am

are there 2 re6's?

11:43 am

Hiya bodkinz - I have re6/21 x 2

11:44 am

bod there are 2 re6/21,

11:44 am

i can't see the other on a2z ??? unless i'm blind

11:45 am

Bodkinz, a2z doesn't have them all as a rule.

11:45 am

harpjane, its' a he5/18 - sounds like what footballers do with their bonce :)

11:45 am

bodkinz what do you hold onto when on a horse

11:45 am

doh.. just typed a word and got it lol

11:47 am

can some one explain to me something??? how can the 't' at the end of the third row...have words that cant be got to first by the 't' in the second row?

11:47 am

da4/8 da4/6 da5/14 da5/12 da6/21 da4/5 da5/12 da4/5 da5/12 da5/12 da6/21 de4/ 8 de4/5 de4/5 de5/18 de5/1 8 de6/30 de5/20 de6/39 de4 /8 de6/21 de5/18 de5/18 di 5/18 di6/27 di4/5 di4/5 di 5/12 di4/5 di4/5 di5/12 di 6/21

11:47 am

thanks for the help :)

11:47 am

brandyjack please can you help me with my last na4, I have the gran and the 2 Greek ones, and do you know the final score, please please help me, ooohhh, I feel a song coming on

11:48 am

According to the stats, it doesn't. What makes you think it does?

11:49 am

Was that a song coming on?! Anyone fancy joining me in a round of Pop is Dead?

11:49 am

Ferrari, I have 139 words to go, which includes all of the na's.......

11:49 am

brandy jack ..if that was to me.....cos there are 3 words off that 't' in the third row

11:50 am

Rolin, according to the stats, it doesn't start ANY words. What makes you think it does?

11:50 am

Rolin, sorry, misread your message to be the last row.

11:50 am

brandyjack didn't know if you'd got that list you post later

11:51 am

Explanation is easy, the T in the second row is needed as a letter in the word followed by a letter that the t in the third row is NOT adjacent to. And no, I don't know the words as yet, but will by the end of the game.

11:52 am

um, anj? What's a "bonce"? I am culturally deprived, I think.

11:52 am

Ferrari, the list is posted at SWMBO's as usual and was posted in here about 06:30

11:53 am

Harpjane, the top bit with the face on the front and suspicious hairstyles lol :) Paddytt - thanks for the D listing :)

11:53 am

good morning everyone. Missing a da4 - have crazy, challenge and disparaging term -- thought I'd tried everything possible -- any clues?

11:54 am

No probs Anj

11:54 am

Rolin, I lied. It seems I do have two of the words, to4/4 and to5/10. I'll find the other when I get around to it. 8) 8) 8)

11:55 am

yes I've got that, I was thinking they were listed in order but of course they're not are they, thanks for the help.I'm just going to weep uncontrollably

11:56 am

Has anybody got a full list of the T's please?

11:56 am

*approaches warily with box of tissues*

11:57 am

cybernan, da4/4 is an acronym, sounds like NA**

11:57 am

ferrari - if you're still looking for an na4, it might be the one that means nothing, or of no importance (sounds Spanish) :)

11:57 am

ferrari - which one is it you're missing???

11:58 am

Oh that one - ferrari - Google 'The Weight is a Gift' it's a new album by a band with the N word in their name :)

11:58 am

thankyou miyavi, I think I'll come back later unless someone can post a list of na's

:: waves at her Mom ::

11:59 am

Does anyone have the 2nd ra5 yet?

11:59 am

na4 5 na5 12 na4 4 na4 4 na4 4 na6 18

12:00 pm

Doing really badly! Have to change to go to Ruby wedding party. Help with the Ra8 please. Adios

12:00 pm

Alleyn, pluralise your ra7

12:01 pm

hi Hugs :) ra5/18, a thin beam of light

12:01 pm

thanks Sherb... I've been searching and searching

12:02 pm

Oh THANYOU ANJ,LOL, 239, 4.99, 3556, can go and get dressed now and watch stictly come dancing.:)))) xx

12:02 pm

Thank you both! Can now get on with partying.

12:02 pm

Has it been discussed before about why some of the Brits have the Union Jack as a flag, while others have the St Georges (or is it St John's) cross for a flag??

12:03 pm

Ferrari - thanks - got it! Where's the fish?

12:03 pm

Depends whether you select UK or England Brandyjack

12:03 pm

Brandyjack, I'm just asuming that some of us saw the words United Kingdom in the drop menu first and some saw England first

12:04 pm

don't know Brandyjack, I changed once then changed back to the Union Jack

12:04 pm

Good Morning, daughter.

12:05 pm

That's where my ignorance came in. Totally forgot that the country was selectable in the profile. Was thinking Jamie had done a masterful job of translating IP addresses to real world locations. That would be one heck of a job.... Now I don't feel so ineffectual.....

12:06 pm

jack - there are English, Scots and Welsh flags as well as the Union Jack...Dr_God caters for all tastes :)

12:07 pm

Jamie?

12:08 pm

Miyavi - planning to watch any films tonight? lol :)

12:09 pm

radio or rayed perhaps

12:09 pm

England it will be

12:09 pm

Sherb, I've been watching a film now! Gekokujo *massive cheesy grin*

12:10 pm

Wait..."I've been watching a film now"?! How is that supposed to make sense?!

12:10 pm

How many J words? I have 4/11, 6/42, 5/24, 6/39, 4/11

12:11 pm

Rolin, the other T off the third row is the wonderful mexican corn chip. Ta7/32.

12:11 pm

Gekokujo - means nothing to me - is that better or worse than Misery? ;)

12:11 pm

12:12 pm

Okay, so I lied. Not strictly a film, but a DVD of Miyavi's first live. Yes, I know it's sad. But it makes me happy :)

12:13 pm

Hey ferrari - result! :) They're a good band too. I've seen them support The Vines :)

12:15 pm

Alleyn - we're near neighbours, I'm in NW3 :)

12:16 pm

Brandyjack. I can only get a score with your lists. You are my knight in shining armour and I wish I was forty years younger and your idea of beautiful. Do not ever stop posting your lists please.

12:16 pm

Please will someone put me out of my misery over this damn da4/6??!! *lola waits to be handed the fish*

12:17 pm

lola..one da4 is a disparaging nme for an italian...(very aussie)

12:17 pm

lola - rude word for Spaniard?

12:18 pm

sherb: can I have clues on jo7/60 thx

12:18 pm

Sorry, I only got it by monkey typing

12:18 pm

Lola. derogatory name D+ past?

12:19 pm

speed - if it had 're' at the front, it would be a fitting response :)

12:19 pm

Lo - da plus.. ready, steady, ...! :)

12:19 pm

ooooh Sherb, pure gold ;)

12:19 pm

The da4/6 was too easy. Since it started with D whic is 2 points, it has 3 letters left which must have 4 points. 3 letters at one point each equals three points leaving one point left over. Means that one of the last three letters has to be a two poointer, which is rare. Leaves only one letter unknown.....

12:20 pm

Thank you mu. I'd never heard that word before I started babbling but now I remember that it has done this to me before :/ *mentally adding it to words like haole* Of course I managed to skillfully monkey type around it!

12:21 pm

having the point scores and 2nd letters on the smaller words makes this game way too easy........ good thing the longer words and the 4/4's make up for it.

12:21 pm

jack - you're mathematician as well as a wordster! :)

12:21 pm

lola. my pleasure

12:22 pm

if adding 1+1 to get 2 is being a mathemetician, then being in the same room with a bunch of non-mathemeticians could be quite terrifying....

12:23 pm

BBL with candy and treats

12:23 pm

It's not that bad, Brandyjack...at school, I put up with it every day

12:23 pm

I'm new, does anyone ever finish this?

12:24 pm

I don't pay much attention to the points, unless I get really stuck, maybe on the last word or two

12:24 pm

*lola stops crying over stupid d word and hold out hand expectantly* :')

12:24 pm

xxx ;)

12:27 pm

Thanks babe :) xxx

12:28 pm

Has anyone got the re6 word not the one concerning horse control

12:29 pm

I like numbers. They are totally meaningless without perspective, and yet at the same time, their meaning is totally unambiguous and carved in stone. Slang cannot be applied to them, and unlike the english language, if you mis-spell them often enough, people do not stop sneering at you and accept them as an official part of the language....

12:30 pm

Got to watch the dancing .Back later I hope.

12:30 pm

sudoku Brandy Jack :)

12:30 pm

'bye mom :)

12:30 pm

can anyone help with my last 'y' i have ya 4 7 ya 5 16 ye 4 7 ye 4 7

12:31 pm

It's a ye6/30 which is based on the 2nd ye4/4 to become past tense.

12:31 pm

right dinner is finished time to find the last 36 words and get in the jacuzzi

12:32 pm

Go doll! Is himself happy now then??

12:33 pm

Brandyjack, that hits the spot with me. Having just sat two psychometric tests, the maths was much more logical and enjoyable than the verbal reasoning. Too much psychology sometime poisons pure understanding.

12:33 pm

thats it im finished.

12:33 pm

thx brandy jack

12:34 pm

Psychometric?! Is that as scary as it sounds?

12:34 pm

yes his lordship is fed and watered and watching ibuy so will be quite for a good 45 mins

12:35 pm

Brandyjack, I can see your 2nd letter part 2 but when did you post part 1?

12:35 pm

English is a boon to illiterates......... Maybe that's why we have so many....

12:36 pm

i just posted part two now. The entire list is at SWMBO's and was posted here at 06:30 babble time.

12:37 pm

Miy, it's supposedly a way to measure mental capacities and attributes. Personally I think it lacks humanity... far too clinical and open to question.

12:38 pm

Riiiight...it's just that from my knowledge, the words 'pscho' and 'metric' are always ones to avoid. And both of them in one word...*shudders*

12:38 pm

missing an Ni5 people any clues floating about

12:38 pm

48 to go and I need to feed :) Back around 7:30 ish, that's 1:30 ish log time...

12:39 pm

can any one tell me how many words there are??? I'm new to this game

12:39 pm

See you later babe :) xxx

12:39 pm

12:51 pm

Nevermind on the mo5. I am a blind fool. A hairless blind fool

12:51 pm

kjs- replace the last o with an s on the saying :)

12:52 pm

RA5 i have the one thats a wireless clue for the other?

12:52 pm

for the mo5's, there are two ways of spelling the castle surround. one has two vowels, the other has a double consonant. and they are both on a2z.....

12:53 pm

Hmmm, not sure where I got the idea that the double consonant is the same word. Dictionary definitions are different. A tuft of human or animal hair standing up on the head or body

12:54 pm

never mind i got it

12:54 pm

hey miss linton howz it goin

12:55 pm

ra 6 21 ra 6 21 ra 6 21 what RA6 am I missing (and if its another 21 pointer can I have a clue?)

12:56 pm

brandyjack- it is similar. The one with two vowels is filled with water, the other is a ditch that is normally around a bailey :)

12:56 pm

2:06 pm

jakes-mum, af7 - the beginning is back end of a boat ...

2:06 pm

aye, doing ok -- it's a big 'un today. you ok?

2:06 pm

Hey Macadam! Don't give up! I'd be so buzzed at getting to the last three words I'd camp out at my computer if I had to :D

2:06 pm

Pezzie - sorry, see you have that one. Think about what you would call a person who is very chubby (derogatory term)

2:06 pm

jakes-mum to7/32  A tortilla or tortilla chip deep-fried until crisp.

2:07 pm

I'm good thanks Sproing...getting a leeetle irritated at the family, but running away to babble should stop that. I hope. Maybe.

2:09 pm

Help please. I need clues for two ni 4 s ; I've got the nest, the eggs of pests, and the number. Thanks.

2:09 pm

jakes- af7: opp of before less last two letters and opp of least :)

2:09 pm

ahh, families :) I'm about 2000 miles away from mine...

2:10 pm

Good clue babe - you're on form tonight. Even I got that one ;) ((xx))

2:10 pm

Lola, thanks for the af clue. That was a hard one.

2:10 pm

Wow...how did you manage that one?! If my mum says one more time that Miyavi (the guy in my icon) is a 'pretty girl' I will NOT be held responsible for my actions!

2:11 pm

ni4/5 nest of pheasants

2:11 pm

did you tell her that he's not a girl?

2:12 pm

Why thank you babe! Fancy a quick spin round the dance floor? ;)

2:12 pm

frances / lola you are beautiful people take a chocolate ecalir each as thanks

2:12 pm

Last time I tried that, Lesaroc, all I got was a big laugh, followed by "there's something wrong with him!" *sighs*

2:12 pm

can i have an eclair just because they're delicious? ^_^

2:13 pm

Miyavi, I know how you feel -- my parents used to take the mickey out of my favourite bands. I moved to the US about 6 years ago to do a Master's and ended up marrying a yank. Looking forward to returning to Blighty though :)

2:13 pm

lol, thanks doll! You finished then??

2:14 pm

No good!I quit.3 to go and I can`t see straight.Open the wine and here I come.Nite all.Good luck everyone.

2:14 pm

everyone can have an eclair *starts tossing them at everyone* and have i eck as like finished I still got about 15 to go

2:14 pm

Wow! What was the subject of your masters? At least my parents don't take the mickey out of Dir en Grey...they're way too scared :)

2:14 pm

No, Macadam! Be strong!

2:15 pm

macadam, are their two ni words meaning nest? I have ni 4 5 = nest ni 4 4 = number ni 4 4 = eggs of pests ni 4 ? ni 4 ? Thanks.

2:15 pm

Miyavi,I fancied Roy wood for years.I would have loved to see my parents face if He ever called.

2:16 pm

Master's was in "design and computation"... I used to subject my parents to Metallica, Pantera etc. hee.

2:16 pm

Ah, here the ignorance of my youth shows, I'll have to go google him. But if any of Dir en Grey turned up at the door...mwahahaha...

2:16 pm

Thats it I am putting myself in the corner I missed the TO5 for weight *goes off with dunce hat in hand*

2:17 pm

still do when I go home to visit my mum :)

2:17 pm

One ni rhymes with hide the other with midi.Hope this helps!!!!!!!!

2:17 pm

arghh bibble babble booble... i'm getting drunky with 51 to find

2:17 pm

Ah, Metallica...I'm a big fan of theirs :) Though J-rock is the main passion

2:18 pm

metallica went down hill when they moaned about piracey

2:18 pm

jakes-mum scrummy-cream and  choccy all over fizog

2:19 pm

Bye for now ,the wine is open.

2:19 pm

can't argue with you there bodkinz, although I still love their music.

2:19 pm

See you :)

2:19 pm

hic burp macadam

2:20 pm

Lo, of course... Slow one again ? ;)

2:21 pm

I'm really big on Nirvana as well...and just for the record, does anyone agree with me that Kurt Cobain was murdered?

2:21 pm

Hey Sproing, my old man used to play Dave Brubeck at me, so I figure a little Metallica is just getting even :)

2:21 pm

yay! Broke 1000 in less than an hour! :)

2:22 pm

ugh, I think he'd still be here if it wasn't for the skank that he married...

2:22 pm

Anj, of course babe (((xx)))

2:22 pm

Anj -- my dad did the same! problem was, he got into Metallica...

2:22 pm

Ah, thank God someone else agrees with me...Courtney Love must die. She MUST DIE.

2:23 pm

Miyavi, it's a miracle that she hasn't yet. I feel sorry for the daughter

2:23 pm

oh mi god..you can't say Metallica in the same breath as Dave Brubeck!!!! (signed: a woman of certain years)

2:24 pm

Give him his due tho', he did get me into Return to Forever which is about as far into jazz territory I dare to stray away from 4/4 time lol

2:24 pm

Did Bruebeck do "take 4"?

2:24 pm

ad8 clue, anyone?

2:24 pm

Me too...I can't believe she wasn't classified as an unfit mother. I would have thought being a murder suspect and a drug user would count against you maternally?

2:25 pm

yeah, you'd think.

2:25 pm

pib, I will even own up to having seen both of them live. My folks gave me a rounded education :)

2:26 pm

cybernan - ad plus n6 as in "one n..... under God"

2:27 pm

I think I'd make a better mother than her, and I'm so absentminded I'd either leave a baby in a shop or let it fall down the plughole whilst draining water from a bath :)

2:28 pm

Anj...a rounded education is good. There are a lot of square ones around..I took my kids to Carnegie Hall AND to the Three Deuces.!!!

2:28 pm

just curious - any words ending in "opposite of night"?

2:29 pm

down to last 7 words and haven't come across one yet . . .

2:29 pm

Which fa 5 am I missing please? fa 5 18 fa 5 22 fa 5 18 fa 5 16

2:29 pm

Sproing, Take 5...although I preferref Blue Rondo a la Turk after hearing it so many times. I managed to get my mum into the Cranberries but it was a hollow victory. Much more fun if it had been Nirvana.

2:29 pm

Thank you Anj.

2:30 pm

another fa5/16

2:31 pm

mikecheck...not that I can see. Maybe haveanice? :)

2:31 pm

Anj -- that's right. I knew it was something like that. My mum is a Queen fan

2:31 pm

cooo...all this and a slow dance with Lola. *sighs* :)

2:32 pm

linder..did you add a letter to the end of fa5?

2:32 pm

Anj - lol :)

2:33 pm

*whispers* And I'm wearing the fishnets babe ;)

2:33 pm

oooh, all this music talk is reminding me - does anybody know what the word 'mesa' means? Miyavi sings it and apparently it's an english word, but I can't find a definition anywhere

2:33 pm

Bye..ta ta

2:34 pm

... talking of fishnets, who has the sardine of stupidity - I think I need it ...

2:34 pm

mesa is a flat topped mountain, usually in the western US, i.e. Mesa Verde, Colorado

2:35 pm

Miyavi, it means "table" and it's also a geographical formation

2:35 pm

*sigh* Chessy, I believe that would be me :/

2:35 pm

*whimpers* :) Miy, it's a steep sided plateau...or possible an amplifier if you put Boogie behind it :)

2:35 pm

Thanks, AEuser! Been looking around for that one for ages...so that's what he means by "on top of the invisible mesa"...weird...

2:36 pm

Chessy, we have an ample supply of Carp, kindly provided by Artlady :) Swing away....

2:36 pm

lola, hand it over girl, it's needed here ...:(

2:36 pm

And thanks to Sproing and Anj! The song was Shindemo Boogie-Woogie Anj, so yours was very appropriate...

2:37 pm

Miy, it means he's been at the recreational baccy again... :/

2:37 pm

*flings sardine of stupidity of Chessy*

2:38 pm

*catches sardine neatly in mouth like a seal* ...

2:38 pm

You may be onto something there...in the same song he ends up singing "the hens are completely funny". Though it appears to be mainly about some club...the "optimist's paradise"

2:38 pm

*at* Aaargh, I think it's time I took a break for some food, be back later :)

2:40 pm

Good catch chessy!

2:41 pm

Later Lo :)

2:41 pm

still can't find the fa 5 16 anyone got some more clues pls?

2:41 pm

*Anj throws beachball at Chessy to see if she balance it on her nose*

2:42 pm

Linda, you might need a glass of water and a sit down if you feel this way. Opposite of bold in artistic terms...

2:43 pm

anj i think i've already got that fa 5 16 - is there another one?

2:43 pm

*Chessy jumps on stool with sardine in mouth and catches beachball deftly on nose.*

2:44 pm

Now I'm confused...Chessy, are you a talented human or an extremely intelligent seal?

2:44 pm

Linda, slang term for someone with an ample frame ;) Also a band called F..... Jetson :)

2:45 pm

*Chessy would answer, but her mouth is full of sardine*

2:46 pm

Chessy - eating affects your ability to type?!

2:47 pm

a hint re the second ti7? i've got the dry twigs one . . . thanks

2:47 pm

miy - I should imagine having flippers wuld make it a bit tricky.

2:47 pm

Ah, you may have a point there Dachef. Though it never stopped me :)

2:48 pm

Miyavi, there is also holding on to stool and balancing ball, I've heard of multi-tasking but this is getting ridiculous :)

2:48 pm

*Anj grins evilly and throws another beachball to Chessy* Dachef, I was never any good at pinball...

2:49 pm

Sorry Chessy, being at school today teaches you to multitask. Talking, ignoring, dodging missiles and writing all at the same time :)

2:49 pm

thanks anj finally got the fa 5

2:50 pm

*Chessy swallows sardine and heads both beachballs into jacuzzi*

2:50 pm

miy - yeh, and thats just the teachers! LOL!

2:50 pm

Yay! Unie :) You inspired me there... the other ti7 ...think t.. of beans, and make it superlative :)

2:50 pm

MY last word HELP ME PLEASE i've been here since 10am this morning!!! I want to watch TV!!!! RE6 - I have A larva of certain trematodes that is produced within the sporocyst

2:50 pm

Ack, Miyavi -- it's Saturday, and you were at school?

2:51 pm

Jakes, do you have things wot steer horses??

2:51 pm

Hm? Gah...why did I put 'today'?! PLEASE don't let this be subconscious wishful thinking *shudders* Dachef...just like the teachers, only they have to suppress the urge to kill the students/themselves as well

2:51 pm

can someone please give a clue for fa 5 22?

2:51 pm

got it--thanks, anj!

2:52 pm

jakes -- add a vowel to the end of your re5/12

2:52 pm

korn, mild green f..... liquid. Spelt differently. Tinkerbell :)

2:52 pm

(re6/21 is the plural of re/12)

2:53 pm

gah... missing a de 5 and de 6

2:54 pm

thank anj

2:55 pm

YAY I AM FINISHED *does lap of honour round the room and at passing the window realises that it is dark outside* where did the day go? oh and can I have the sardine of stupidity please as it was the things that steer horses that I was missing

2:55 pm

yay for jakes!!!

2:55 pm

Congratulations Jakes! Unfortunately Chessy ate the sardine...will a salmon do?

2:55 pm

Way to go jakes-mum! Sorry I swallowed the sardine - will a salmon do? :)

2:56 pm

Woah Chessy...great minds think alike, hm?

2:56 pm

Miyavi - I think I need a word with you about mind-reading ...

2:56 pm

sardine - salmon I don't eat fish so I doubt I would notice the difference ;-)

2:56 pm

Hey there Ceili...are you having fun?

2:56 pm

Good work Jakesmum! Your work here is done. Enjoy what's left of your day.

2:56 pm

*shoves Jakes into the custard tub* Yay! Jakes - now go play beachball and wait for the rest of us :)

2:57 pm

*grins evilly*

2:57 pm

4:20 pm

Hi miyavi :)

4:20 pm

Miy, this is getting to be a habit lol :)

4:21 pm

Your boy's still pining babe :(

4:22 pm

I've seen something disturbing. First of all Miyavi was teaching the crowd to spank themselves (please...don't ask) then my mum came in, started laughing and the started joining in. *shudders* my eyes are burning!

4:22 pm

Movieman here, yet again reporting from the same old computer, in the same old house, in same old Littleport, in same old Cambridgeshire - I am only missing two words now...an fa5 & an na4...ne assistance would be most gratefully received (and I may just throw in a six pack of my Dad's Greene King IPA...) Gracias...

4:23 pm

What's up babe??

4:24 pm

I was worried something may have happened to you :'(

I am still having problems with af 7 48 and jo 7 60... PLease help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-(

4:25 pm

I bid you all adieu and happy babbling. Visitors are on the door step, so I won't be able to finish this puzzle.

4:25 pm

Nite, ItGirl.

4:25 pm

I'm fine babe :) Will mail you as soon as I can.

4:26 pm

movieman, do you have the fa5 that one might see on a radio?

4:26 pm

:') Imagination is a curse sometimes...

4:26 pm

"Nite", although is 2:25 p.m. in sunny Arizona. Wine and the pool awaits me.

4:26 pm

Why do you fill up the chat log with so much conversation? It takes forever to scroll through looking for clues. Maybe there should be a separate log for just clues.

4:27 pm

Perhaps it's because it's a "chat" log and not a clues log, and we enjoy chatting and connecting with others.

4:28 pm

'nite ItGirl :) GodzChild, the af7 is two words bolted together a3 - meaning towards the back of a ship, and m4 meaning more than... The jo7 is another word for a carpenter (perhaps) with a d dropped in the middle :)

4:28 pm

Bonniede, it makes the game more fun having people to chat to as well. If it was just clues, it'd be a pretty boring chat log. Not even a chat log, a clues log.

4:29 pm

Would someone please tell me which Y I'm missing: ya 4 7 ya 5 16 ye 4 7 ye 4 7

4:29 pm

Wah! Great minds think alike, It Girl...

4:43 pm

Anj - shush you! :) Lola...what? whaaaat?! You're the cool one!

4:43 pm

4:44 pm

Hey miyavi, I'm a mom too! We can be cool, lol!

4:44 pm

But Speed...surely you'd draw the line at spanking, right?! But my mum doesn't like my music. Miyavi is apparently a girl, and Dir en Grey are 'sick'. I wish I had a mum as cool as the mums on here!

4:44 pm

MamaBear: I was trying to be gentle with Redgirl, just giving her a severe warning that once you start,, you can never stop.....

4:44 pm

That's what I mean, Lola! You're the cool mum!

4:44 pm

4:48 pm

4:48 pm

Anj, just as long as it isn't on my mum that's okay :) focus on the cool mum *points at Lola*

4:48 pm

Actually, it's the first time I've used that particular recipe and we are both agreed it needs MORE CHOCOLATE. (It only had a measly 2 and 3 quarter oz in.) Think I'll stick a full bar of Bournville in next time.

7:15 pm

LOL! Jac... 'please make it as bland as possible' :')

7:16 pm

artlady - just hope that if we take it all we don't hear the "winning ugly" comments because of it!!!!

7:16 pm

7:18 pm

7:24 pm

could i have some help with fa 8 and 9?

7:25 pm

hint for in 7 please? or is it another one of those fishy ones?

7:25 pm

in 7/32 - unpublished literary works. Add a e 4/5 and another vowel to the end.

7:25 pm

Looking at the way the rankings work a few thoughts jump to mind: - you only need 3 puzzles to get ranked, so if you complete all three right off you go to the top of the rankings - if you don't fully complete a puzzle, your ranking will drop, but weirdly, if you completely skip a puzzle, you ranking is hardly effected... :/ - the rankings run on a 30 day cycle which is why some of us are going up and down like frisky kangaroos even tho' we complete each puzzle - because no-one is on the same 30 day cycle That's my handle on the thing anyway. Any thoughts??

7:26 pm

Whooohooo! 3 run homer!

7:26 pm

Thanks, MamaBear and Anj. Got it!

7:27 pm

ANj - too busy laughing at the image of us all bobbing up and down like frisky kangaroos to voice any serious thoughts. ROFLOL.

7:27 pm

fa8 and fa9: take your first fa4 meaning willing add an e and then a small insect. Pluralise for the 9

Bye all - I can't even think straight anymore....this is one tired owl. But now I will get a ranking. See you tomorrow...

8:00 pm

Hi Swimmy :)

8:00 pm

I wonder if I have a spare haddock lying around -- I need to slap myself with it...

8:01 pm

SOS! I am missing one stinkin' D word....it's a DI 5 and is not a journal or a photocopy

8:02 pm

KJS, plural of your di4/5 which means effort, as in by d.... of hard work :)

8:02 pm

I am puzzling mightily over your clue and I just CANNOT get it: it's in plus a vowel and ends in the 3rd di4/5 Well the possibilities are very limited here. I have the last di4/5, I have the in and there are only 2 possible vowels, an "e" or an "a' and NADA, ZILCH NOTHING is accepted by babble HELP!!!

8:03 pm

how many words are there today?

8:03 pm

GOOD LORD. Why is it I can never see the forest for the trees????? I feel sheepish!

8:03 pm

KJS - Just realised that my explanation of the di5 is probably as West Midlands (UK) local word. Go with Anj's clue.

8:04 pm

239 total words

8:04 pm

Thanks

8:04 pm

SWMBO - Think of a newspaper chief (sounds like) and put the opposite of him being 'out' in front of it.

8:08 pm

swbo he gave a clue earlier that was more comp;icated than this one. I thought you were using that one. Artlady - thankyou its my youngest grandchild -he is 2 yrs old & gorgeous!

8:08 pm

That is what I have been putting in and Babble WILL NOT take it!

8:09 pm

8:14 pm

Is that for real, Anj?

8:14 pm

8:17 pm

Do I have egg all over my face or what??? I can't believe I wasted all that time too...

8:23 pm

One left....I'm missing an ra 6. I have the ra 6/21 that's a unit of measure; the ra 6/21 that happened a lot in New ENgland this week; and the ra 6/21 that is the plural of the ra 5/12 before it....help?

8:26 pm

Hey, I could turn fish, eggs & chips into some sort of kedgeree with some rice :)

8:27 pm

Want some petis pois to throw into that too, Anj, and perhaps a bit of pineapple?

8:27 pm

I have brown, basmati, arborio, wild and white rice! Which kind?

8:27 pm

Jac, that one was my 2nd to last word and, like the in7, not exactly noodle-friendly. It's a vowel plural of the preceding re5/12

8:28 pm

basmati, for sure!!

8:28 pm

Please could I have a clue for ni5/10 and na5/12?

8:28 pm

8:37 pm

hi Brandyjack : )

8:50 pm

ahem! re6 supplemental: New Latin, after Francesco Redi (1626-1697), Italian naturalist. How's that Torg?? ;)

8:50 pm

BrandyJack comes to the rescue on his white charger (or in his white launch). LOL. There you go folks, a 2nd letter list.

8:50 pm

anyone have a clue for ra6 - have the thief, the electronic device and the geometric term.

8:51 pm

LOL Torg & LOL Anj.xx

8:51 pm

Anj, some of us have been bellowing at the newbies not to post words n the log. To re-iterate: DO NOT POST WORDS IN THE LOG. 8{)

8:51 pm

cyberman - precipitation

8:51 pm

yeah Anj! you gotta stop doing that! *giggles*

8:51 pm

Just a dinghy Jaq :<)

8:52 pm

Blaze, if I remember we all used to wait for the stats to be posted first thing in the log. On the days that they didn't appear right away we would wander like lost souls until they did lol

8:52 pm

thanks for the info.....

8:52 pm

Jack - some teenaged oick told me 'not to yell, dude' when I lost patience the other night after words were posted, after Anj had said at least half-a-dozen times (nicely) not to post words in the log. Not that it bothered me. I have teenagers of my own. LOL.

8:53 pm

I need more haddock... hint on en 7 please?

8:54 pm

Put an 'e' in front of your na6/18.

8:55 pm

LOL! *Hides face* Sooorrrryyyyyy! I didn't realise the word was in the definition Wheeeeee! So THIS is what it feels like hee-hee beer short of a six-pack tonight folks :')

8:56 pm

Now anj what have we said about inbibing and babbling ??? LOL (nothing at all...) three fish wacks for you....

8:56 pm

Thanks much, Anj. The New Latin was much easier than the science text, but I appreciate all efforts!

8:56 pm

is your face burning up? have you gone a deep shade of crimson? could you fry an egg on your face??? s'alright Our Kid! there, there! : D *pats Anj's shoulder*

8:56 pm

Jaq, true, but Anj isn't a newbie. He volunteered to be a victim. Oh, and I presume I'm stating the obvious, but for those who do not know, netiquette considers the use of full capitals to be shouting. I think the logic goes something like 'full caps are hard to read, and shouting is hard to listen to'. Or some such drivel.

8:56 pm

Hi everyone, I've been gone from the game for a few hours so I don't know if anyone asked this. Can someone give me a hint for "to 7" please? thanks

8:56 pm

johnp - thanks - can't believe I missed something so obvious!

8:57 pm

Goodnight, all. Remind me not to attempt the puzzles with this many words. I'm taking tomorrow off and will attempt to be sociable with people face to face. Thanks for the fun.

8:57 pm

yw cyberman - I always miss the obvious

8:58 pm

ttfn, Munner!! : D

8:58 pm

Blaze, it would be excusable if i HAD been drinking, but i've seen Judges looking worse than I am just now. I shall of course do the decent thing and commit haddock immediately.

9:02 pm

Jack - I know about the upper case thing and I meant to SHOUT!

9:03 pm

Hey Anj, you can borrow mine *throws haddock in Anj's direction*

9:04 pm

pezzie, sorry I do not have that one yet...

9:04 pm

fa 5 / 16, the last one. Could I get a shove?

9:05 pm

Yes Jaq, I know you did. That was for others. Some of whom are not the computer junqies you an I are...... And of course for those who are just plain clueless......

9:05 pm

*chuckles* you'll get more than that when you find it, swmbo!! lol!

9:05 pm

when girls went to the beatles the would fa 5/16

9:06 pm

fa 5/16 = pass out

9:06 pm

haha blaze

9:06 pm

or what they call overweight people

9:07 pm

do they, Blaze?? I didn't know that. Interesting!

9:07 pm

OH !!!! oooops!! dumbo over here isn't familiar with her word list. LOL! : ]

9:08 pm

ooopss there are two fa 5/16

9:08 pm

somebody somewhere has to know what re 7/40 and re 9/78 are. don't they? :'(

9:08 pm

i have that one. I have the tiny person with wings, the bundle of sticks, and the feeling of lightness

9:08 pm

ny ven it is when you stop yourself from doing something...

9:09 pm

Just working on my last 9 words now in the t's.

9:09 pm

I'd love to help, nyven, but I'm looking for the re 7/40 and re 9/78 as well.....

9:09 pm

lol

9:09 pm

do you have the derogatory term

9:09 pm

nyven - Indeed some does, but they have re9/78 from telling you ..

9:09 pm

DARN!! I made ANOTHER mistake! It is a fa6/27 I need *sigh* (not the plural of feeling light headed)

9:10 pm

Well swmbo, there are only two fa5/16's. The others are 22 18 & 30....

9:10 pm

I'm such a dumbo, I already had the re9 !!! any clues for the ra8, anybody?

9:10 pm

do you have the one that ends like the crying vegetable

9:10 pm

swmbo, if you still need "to 7"... it's a type of Mexican food. Just found it and my T's are done!

9:11 pm

Ah, I just got that one. fa6/27 - a small flag used by surveyors or soldiers to mark a position

9:11 pm

It's related to the an5/10

9:12 pm

Swimmy, someone who loves electrically charged particles?? fa6/27

9:12 pm

Babbler, would that be the one that is the plural of he ra7/32????

9:13 pm

Thank you BrandyJack. Sometimes I am such a klutz

9:13 pm

desperatly seeking d 6 I have de 6/39 and 6/30 any hints or clues a little direction.... Please

9:14 pm

i love you all. and i'm a dope. cause i got the right word as soon as you said it but i tried to start with the wrong r so it wasn't working. lol

9:14 pm

*pouts* : ( what ra7/32, Brandyjack??..

9:14 pm

nyven as happens to all of us...

9:14 pm

Well there is a de6/27 which means one who claims that what happened, didn't.

9:15 pm

Well, the ra7/32 is based on the ra6/21, geometric measurement. The new one means something which gives off heat.

9:16 pm

Blaze, there's a de6/21 that could be to do with tights ot maybe someone who would say 'I wasn't me!' There's also a di6/27 that uses your at4/6 meaning small particle or big nasty bomb

9:16 pm

GOSH!! I nearly said that word when someone asked how I was today. Thank goodness I didnt!!! LOL! woweee! Thanks, Brandyjack! : )

9:17 pm

thank you muchly d's are in the grey....

9:18 pm

Howdy all! I feel fairly dopey but for the *life* of me I can't find the an4 betwee an 7/28 and an 5/10. Help sans pitying head-shaking much appreciated!

9:18 pm

Hah. The log cops didn't catch me today. I posted words several times, deliberately, in conversations. But no one caught me.......

9:19 pm

evening all

9:19 pm

why you.... !! lol!! I'll watch for that in future! : D

9:19 pm

Well melissamay, perhaps you should look for the an8/40 which is also in between first.

9:19 pm

mee may drop the E (not shouting)

9:21 pm

**Staggers to her feet, staring at the screen....** Oh, Lord. I did it! All 239! WOOOOOHOOOOO! Thanks to all who helped. This is the first time I've completed the puzzle!

9:21 pm

I'm probably useless today, not having that many words, but Mellissamay, might you be looking for the girl's name??

9:21 pm

Well done, KJS.

9:22 pm

Goodnight and fare thee well!

9:22 pm

KJS great job..... "no fish for you" LOL

9:22 pm

'nuff respect, KJS!!! woooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! *hands glass of champers over*

9:22 pm

Oh for the love of pete brandyjack I really meant between an5 and an8. Really, my head is of uncommon thickness today.

9:22 pm

Rolin, I lied. It seems I do have two of the words, to4/4 and to5/10. I'll find the other when I get around to it. 8) 8) 8)

9:22 pm

melissa - girls name

9:23 pm

Catch me if you can............

9:23 pm

Babbler, aaaiiieee, that was it, I would swear up and down in a COURT OF LAW that I'd tried it. Thanks doll, very much.

9:24 pm

Melissamay, I'd say you were in good company. Right folks?

9:24 pm

I found it only cos you were looking for it and I wondered what it might be.... lol! I'm only at 132 words at the minute. : )

9:24 pm

And thanks too johnp. *slinks off in shame to a dark alley far from the babbling crowd*

9:25 pm

MM you are in good company....

9:25 pm

right, Brandyjack. The other day, there was a grid with the word 'rats' which I kept seeing all day. I swear I put it in............. and then hours later, I found I hadn't!!!

9:26 pm

You probably did type it in. But you didn't wait for the previous word to clear before typing in the new one. Babble does that to me all the time.

9:26 pm

babbler..... I have done the same thing.... I think I move my cursor out of the entry box and do not realize it.... or else I'm crackers....

9:27 pm

Well, that's nice to hear everyone. This puzzle -- blech, it's been the Rubicon of puzzles for me and I couldn't begin to explain why.

9:27 pm

Yay KJS! Well done :) MelissaMay...that sorta sums up my grid today :)

9:28 pm

All done. 239 words. 3556 points.

9:29 pm

9:30 pm

Yay Jacula!!!!

9:30 pm

Jack - that's the curse that Babble puts upon we fast typists. Words don't go in!

9:31 pm

Jacula, woo-hoo, and brava!

9:31 pm

jeez you guys, and i'm all hyped about my 52 word, new pr

9:32 pm

Thanks everyone. Any clues I can give for a while now, 'Ill be happy to. Not going to compile my usual 2nd letter word list that complements Jack's as it's 3.31am here in UK and I'm about to start my 4th glass of white wine.

9:32 pm

Yay! Jacula :) This one was a toughie today

9:32 pm

lol evan!! : ) what's this af7, anyone? is it related to the af6? I'm a fast typist, Jacula, I hadn't thought of that.

9:33 pm

Cheers Jacula *clinks glass of white wine*

9:33 pm

no white wine here, maybe the nyquil will do the trick

9:33 pm

It sure was, Ang. The fa8 & 9 were the most obscure, in my eyes. I was off for much of the day doing non-Babble things though and so had to play catch up later.

9:34 pm

Babbler, it means furthest to the rear, especially on a boat. No relation to the a6 It ends in your mo4/6 - meaning more than

9:34 pm

Don't suppose there's an I list floating around anywhere is there?

9:34 pm

No babbler, it's not scared. It's the one sitting at the back of the boat.....

9:36 pm

Could someone post an "s" list, please? I've been scrolling through the log all day and haven't seen one.

9:42 pm

dang - i didn't break 1000 points *sniffle*

9:42 pm

Sproing - Yes! What you do to your car on frosty mornings is one such word on here. I also did the same thing last weekend with 'unascertainable' in the Mail on Sunday mag's crossword. When I finally found it, I told my ex-hubby, who'd also been trying to find that one last clue, that is was 'un- a- certain- able'. 5 mins later, I realised I should have said, 'unassertainable' for the pronunciation.

9:42 pm

can't tell you about the additional poundage since I started playing Babble, Brandyjack!!! It's a daily battle! : D

9:42 pm

...I'm babbling so often it's only when wqe talk about food that I remember to eat...

9:42 pm

I a2z wordfinder cheating? I did 100 words without Wed. I'm struggling tonight.

9:43 pm

CrazyS - the number of the beast. Find one more word and you can be 'neighbour of the beast'.

9:45 pm

I know what you mean, Queenie!!! LOL!! See you next time, maybe?? : )

9:46 pm

a2z isn't cheating, esp., as Jack said, it doesn't have all the words. It's a good last ditch resort though.

9:47 pm

9:47 pm

nite Queenie! :)

9:48 pm

nite evan! :)

9:48 pm

Readers' Digest used to have (and probably still have) a section entitled, 'It Pays To Increase Your Word Power'. I think Babble more than helps with that.

9:49 pm

I'm sure my vocabulary has improved dramatically since I started playing!

9:49 pm

I'm quitting at 84 words and 1039 pts. I have to do weekend chores. So I won't start my teaching week behind. I enjoyed babbling with you all.

9:49 pm

That's my cue too. I'm taking a bow and retiring to the land of nod. Good luck with the rest of the puzzle everyone :) See you, same time, same place, next day :)
