Looking at the way the rankings work a few thoughts jump to mind: - you only need 3 puzzles to get ranked, so if you complete all three right off you go to the top of the rankings - if you don't fully complete a puzzle, your ranking will drop, but weirdly, if you completely skip a puzzle, you ranking is hardly effected... :/ - the rankings run on a 30 day cycle which is why some of us are going up and down like frisky kangaroos even tho' we complete each puzzle - because no-one is on the same 30 day cycle That's my handle on the thing anyway. Any thoughts??

Well there is a de6/27 which means one who claims that what happened, didn't.
Well, the ra7/32 is based on the ra6/21, geometric measurement. The new one means something which gives off heat.
Blaze, there's a de6/21 that could be to do with tights ot maybe someone who would say 'I wasn't me!' There's also a di6/27 that uses your at4/6 meaning small particle or big nasty bomb

Sproing - Yes! What you do to your car on frosty mornings is one such word on here. I also did the same thing last weekend with 'unascertainable' in the Mail on Sunday mag's crossword. When I finally found it, I told my ex-hubby, who'd also been trying to find that one last clue, that is was 'un- a- certain- able'. 5 mins later, I realised I should have said, 'unassertainable' for the pronunciation.

Readers' Digest used to have (and probably still have) a section entitled, 'It Pays To Increase Your Word Power'. I think Babble more than helps with that.

I just modified my program to produce a 2nd letter word score list as well. The final score it gives me is 3556. Can anyone confirm this as the final score for today's puzzle?
