I don't really know, but I wouldn't think so as it makes the game less challenging. Some people start out using websites such as a2zwordfinder and then as they get better at the game, stop using such aids. That's just my general impression.
jcr, people have mentionned using them in the past, but I guess none of them are playing right now. I wouldn't know how to use one and anyway have to impose some limits on the obsession, however meager they are.
Some people insist it's 'cheating,' while others use them aa lot, and still others use them when desperate.

I dropped from 170 to 240 just because I filled in a few words on a grid, then got interrupted and never finished. Not fair!
I have found that if you do not start, it does not negatively effect your score, in fact I sometimes go up when I don't play (go figure) but once you put in that 1st word you have to keep going.

johnp, that's the Golden Rule if you're serious about the rankings - don't start if you can't finish :)

be6/36 means a word that begins 'be', there are 6 letters, the values of the letters add up to 12, so multiplied by 3 the total is 36. (scroll up to Babble Rules for more on this) Monkey typing means just keying in words and seeing what happens! : D

R-- It all depends on what you mean by reasonable. Also, the score can vary a lot depending upon the night because each night there is a new puzzle with a different number of possible words and a different number of points.

91 words in 10 minutes? That is like a word every 10 seconds or something. I can't even type that fast. I think I can say that you are doing well. It takes me most of the day to get a puzzle that is approx 150-200 words total.
