That's a question that would take a long time to answer, but it's home. It's small-town in a vast vast space. It's an incredible mix of cultures from all around the world as well as indigenous peoples. I could go on and on, but will leave you with this popular adage that's also very true, relating to the men vs. women thing: in Alaska, the odds are good, but the goods are odd.

that was a very good answer..... the furtherest I have been North is Peace River Alberta.....I loved the northern lites, long summer days and even the long winter nites... I left the winter it was -55 C plus a wind chill factor.... glad to be in Vancouver BC now....LOL

What part of AK are you from griffums?
I've always lived in southcentral, in the Matanuska Valley area north of Anchorage. Grew up in eastern PA and spent a year back there recently helping family. So glad to be back home here, though really enjoyed the drive across the continent and back. Since I got back home last fall I've lived in Anchorage proper, which I never have in the 25 years I've been here. It isn't Alaska but you can get there from here, and I'm coping.
Use to live up there myself. Lived in Willow for awhile.
My ex lives up there. Can't get a better Denali view. I've lived in Palmer/Sutton/Butte mostly.
Lived as far south as Kodiak and as far north as Nome. Actual got above the Artic Circle when I flew to Nome.
By the way yes I know where Houston, AK is.

When I worked for the University, I got the opportunity to work at Prudhoe/Deadhorse doing fieldwork in the oilpatch. Did that for 11 years, flying up during the summers and every six weeks in the winter. Brrr. I have been out in -70F in pitch dark, trying to change little computer chips in temperature datapods while my companion flashlight-scanned for polar bears. I Really Do Not Miss That Part. But summers were great up there.
(sorry so talky everybody, fun to answer questions but I can wax loquacious)

Hey Blaze what is champers? Champagne? Champers happens to be my cat's name. Well actually, Chandler Bing (yes around the time the show friends began) then my roommate wanted him to be a her and he became champerANN or champers for short. Okay, I've got a stat sheet that says there are to be 5 HA 5's and 4 HA 6's. I have been searching desperately for over an hour and i have found 4 ha 5's and 3 ha 6's. I've got the HA 5's that refer to: 1) compels to go 2) circle of colored light 3) medieval trade assoc. 4) group of women/wives and the HA 6's: 1) cirlces of light (alt spelling) 2) 1st money taken in trade 3) Quarters for wives Does anyone know what I am missing?!!!!!!

Sorry folks, but Hasbo is leaning on me again. I had to change the tiles one more time. I'm not completely sold on the new look - the numbers are a bit too distracting at first glance. But I'm going to give it a day or two to let you guys get used to them. Then we'll take a vote and see how you like 'em. Our lot will all be in their own homes for Halloween & the Guide movement in the UK does not allow us to have halloween activities. Our unit is not meeting on that night as the children like ti trick or treat. Over here a lot of units are attatched to churches and they object to the celebration.

snowy... i felt the same way until moving here 2 yrs ago (i am a brit)... i've learned it seems more to do with the fun of dressing up and conning as many sweets as you can out of people!

We actually meet in a church hall and our vicar won't allow halloween parties there. We usually have a party that covers halloween & Guy Fawkes night - a costume party that doesn't involve halloween dressing up. This year we had planned a 'Sauages beans and jeans' night. but as our meeting fell on 31st the children preferred to 'trick or treat'

Dr_God, it'll be interesting to see what the final scores are. If my logic is correct and the game won't update the score of a word already found, then words found in the few minutes of the change could be off if they involved changed values.....

ovest longer words are multiplied... it's explained better in the rules
