Morning all home from work just in time for the new one
Unfortunately, you only get a short break before you have to start again. Addictions are torture. I need sleepy.
mlk - now you are one of us........
Mamabear you sporting an icon!! Looking good
I've already done some neglecting of the pets...at least in CA time it's not too late :)
hey Schroeder!!!!!! Like your new pic!!!

Hail to all
hi Griffums!!!!! How are ya?
Morning Blaze
Hey Griff, another day, another Babble
Morning all. Hi Blaze
Thanks for the compliment on the icon Schroeder - figured it was about time and I am celebrating my 2nd consecutive completed puzzle!!!!!
c7/36 & c8/50
Me's fine. Just...a sad, pathetic excuse for a human being - or, to paraphrase Charlton Heston at the NRA, I'll give up the Babble when they pry the keyboard from my cold...dead...HANDS!
There's too much for me to go after right now. Must sleep... I'll see whomever later Hugs for whoever wants plus an extra one for MAMABEAR
Congrats mamabear 2 in a row *lifts glass high in the air*
Nite GW *hugs back*
Thanks GW - right back atcha
how many words yesterdays is still posted
Thanks Schroeder!!!! Today's puzzle has 162? Exact same as the last one!!!! Strange, in't it?
162 words today
I thought that was yesterday's #
That means we go for 3 in a row mamabear it's a sign....
4-letter words: 95 5-letter words: 36 6-letter words: 20 7-letter words: 8 8-letter words: 3
ok thanks
I will give it my best shot, Schroeder. But at 14 words, I will bid you farewell..... will tackle it tomorrow. Plus I am too upset that tr***can is not considered a word!!!! LOL .......
s7/28 & s8/40
'night mamabear - cute icon!
nite Griff.... thanks!
Get some good rest tonight and feel better. I will cheer you on.
debs... i'm thinkin u got yesterdays stats... todays hasnt been posted yet... 10/29 thx for tryin tho :)
tbug, debs has the stats correct
Morning gang!
Actually todays is 162 same count as yesterday.....
I think yesterday's was 163.
gd mrning! i stand corrected... wtg debs sry!
Bad start! How do you call a can to throw litter in? Right... but it won't take :( Would have made a nice T8.
hey Sprite, for some reason I thought of you when I saw you can't get STILETTO out of this grid
LOL!
ah but Sprite ... you're REALLY close to a legal one. lose a letter
I agree completely.... I even refreshed twice --- still would not accept....LOl
oops, Sprite, make that TWO letters to drop
...I tried TRASHCAN/S three times after mamabear said it wouldn't work. I'm a putz.
Two letters, no matter which? ;) I have the 5, looking for your 6 now.
oh a little judicious trimming will do :-)
well big whoop. 51 words. I need some shut eye. Night all.
wa 4 11 wa 5 24 wa 4 8 wa 5 18 wa 4 8 wa 4 8 wa 4 9 wi 4 8 wi 4 8 wi 4 8 wo 4 8 wo 4 8 hello all, since BrandyJacks site isn't updated yet, I figured I'd help where I could... this is all the w's
Sleep well, Darleen!
thanks Sprite .. .I will if I can tear myself away, LOL
thanks N
not a problem ;~)
ty niamh and hello from spokane... whereabouts r u in wa?
Covington, it's a small area just east of Kent, how's the weather in spokane this evening?
Ah Darleen, if you are still hanging in here: found the legal one!
hey, Okanogan, Wa. here......little west of you Spokane
YAY! I'm going, I'm going!!!
sprite do you have a mini clue for that t ??
cool, pretty close to normal... maybe a little warmer - first oct in history in spok w/o dipping below freezing yet
Haven't found a fish yet, but just saw the stuff that comes out of a fish...
wow, it froze here the other night, not a lot... just enough to have to scrape the windows in the am!
yo washitonians! :)
(...because where I'm from, a Friday night's entertainment in the late summer is to go watch the salmon spawn. Good times. Well maybe not for the salmon.)
Blaze, which T? The 8 that isn't valid in this grid? Or the 5? The 5 is what you would throw in the 8. As Darleen says, loose 2 letters and you have a valid 6 that doesn't start with T.
hmmm sensors didnt like wash it ton ians
thank you now wonder I was confused..... LOL
Hooray for Griffums for getting the fishy thing working again!
so you didn't put the <beep> in?
ROFLOL! No, the beep was babble's. It will not have excrements appear in the log, it seems.
hmmmm...that odd...I never knew my states name was a bad word...lol
guess i flushed it down! :)
Shouldn't there be a -ng- somewhere in that word then?
that's awesome lol...
i beepin beepin beeped it lol! i beepin need some sleep!
Hi KNG!
poop (just testing the sensor)
And still no clit :)
crap *me too*
So what happens if there's a profanity in the actual grid? Does babble go into an endless feedback loop of self-denial?
Probably, Griffums! :)
doing great kng
clit is an abbreviation.... I tried that too!
dung
LOL, Griffums! And with that, hi everyone! :) I never find myself appearing in the list of finishers, by the way - although I didn't finish yesterday.
Yeah, we have known for some time that babble is a lousy lover ;)
poor babblers that go back thru log to get clues... :)
they are going to be very confused
I think Dr_God should give us the option to mark our post entries in another color. Then we could make the clues blue, for instance, so they would stick out.
Confused, but amused... if they are in a good mood.
that would be a great help... then we could chat and be friendly, and not irritate the few who only want the log to be clues.
if they're "regular" LOL
nite nite all at 60 words... till tomorrow! gl 2 all of ya!
Bye tbug!
nite tbug!
Sleep well, Tbug.
A nice, peacefull A7/44.
thx u2 peace out
Er, peaceful could do with one less L, I fear. C7/36-8/50 combo and a C8/55.
Oh, and Darleen's A6 can be made into A7/36 as well.
Sprite, any good clues for the A and the C's?
Sprite, it wouldn't take my WITTLE word eithuh... :(
A7/44 is peaceful, A7/36 is dusty, C-combo is musical, C8 is "A widely distributed black to brownish-black chromium ore". Griffs, I tried that too, lol! About 4 times.
M7/32 will keep your hands warm.
Thanks Sprite...I'll work on them for awhile.....while I wittle.
Can anyone tell me why O4/5 are valid and 'ents' aren't? I submit a new rule: all Tolkien creatures should be allowed!
IIIII can't tell you why (no baby, I can't tell you why...)
But you are a great C7/36, Griffs! S7/28-8/40 combo too.
thenkew....thenkewverymuch
A sanitary T7/28.
I can't find tampon
Close... very close!
Jw biffy's
Reallity calls willl finish tomorrow good nite all... Good Luck
nite blaze
I wonder, if T6/21 (widely distributed European titmouse with bright cobalt blue wings and tail and crown of the head) tittupped as in yesterday's grid, what would you get?
byebye Blaze
Sleep well, sweet dreams Blaze!
A mouse with wings... and still 'ents' are not allowed.
anybody seen babbler?
Anyone still babbling? I am one S short, must be a 5. Could anyone tell me which one I am missing? sa 6 27 sa 7 40 sa 4 4 sc 4 5 sc 5 12 sc 5 12 sc 6 21 sh 6 21 st 7 28 st 8 40 st 4 4
not me, I'm fortyleven words behind you :(
sorry sprite... you're too fast for me!
You'll get there soon enough, Griffs! Gosh, that S is driving me bananas. Must be a crazy word... or so ordinary I am blind to it, of course.
really Sprite, you're so good at this that it's sort of amazing we still like you. I'm just sayin. <duck!>
what happened to todays word lists on Babblers Anonymous?
LMAO! Yeah, I am great. Great at being blind to the obvious, in particular. ;)
maybe Brandyjack is out for the evening... actually doing something on a friday nite... wow, I'm jealous!
stillcrazy, that big collective silence is brought to you by All Of Us Who Have No Idea
lol thanks Griffums
Sprite, I'm guessing it was a really obvious one?
sprite - I think you are missing a st5/10.
sprite....my first st word is your 5 Medical term for a plastic tube inserted to drain
Still looking... thanks for the help!
sprite...cut end off of st7
Lol, Griffums! :) This is a brief resurface from babble-swamp. 90 words and no list against which to check! :s
hi zubie - this is pretty good practice for me. Yesterday's puzzle was my easiest in terms of not monkey typing but I think it was because there were more familiar words than usual?
HI Griffums. I didn't get to yesterday's puzzle until there were just 45 minutes left, so I didn't finish. But I got many words in that time. Didn't reach 100, though. Sprite. You are responsible for my obsession with the s's now. I was perfectly happy with the a's and then I saw your post - and now I'm obsessed. St7? Clue?
The a list: an 4/4 an 4/4 an 5/10 an 4/4 an 5/10 ar 4/5 as 6/24 at 4/5 aw 4/8
S7/8 is another outbreak of the fishy babble gremlin. "Any of several trumpet-shaped, ciliate protozoans of the genus Stentor, living in dark freshwater pools and feeding chiefly on smaller microorganisms" and its plural. KJS, that did it for me! Thanks a lot. 1852 points today, 4,69 average length. Still no stats at Babblers Anon? I can make stats, but no 2nd letters list.
whatever you can do, sprite...would be appreciated! 76 words and countin!
thanks cybernan
cybernan, thanks for the list. I have an as7 that builds on your as6
AND I have a 2nd AR 4
Thanks, sprite! Got the st7!

Looks like a ta5/10, Niamh
thanks zubie, I'll look for that
I think it is a To6/21. See 1.16 am.
I must beg your forgiveness... sorry for the Fishy clue with the word right in it :( Copied it from the def and did not see it in time.
Well, it *was* a pretty clear clue though. I just wished it was for a word I didn't already have. ;)
I feel really stupid. I always read the defs before using them, but I haven't seen this. Twice even. :( Wish we could edit our posts. Or delete them. Any other clue I can serve you with? Promise I won't give away the word again.
I am dead stuck on the J's
I am never fond of Js. Hope this will help: ja 4 9 ja 4 9 ji 4 9 jo 4 9 jo 4 9 jo 4 9 jo 5 20 jo 5 28 jo 6 45
oh thank you, I'm sure it will!
Js, Ks and vowel words, they always give me a hard time.
I'm falling asleep at the wheel here... I'll see ya'll in the morining!
bye Niamh
oh and thank you sprite for the titmouse clue, googled and found! Night!
Good night or pleasant day, whatever applies to you all... I am off. Later!
buh-bye sprite
Well, I'm just getting nowhere with 63 more wds to find. Will try again tomorrow. 'Night everyone.
'Night, Griffums.

Should have been updated nearly three hours ago, chrissyf. :/ I'm waiting for them, too. Got stuck.
Good morning Chrissy. Normally Brandyjack has the stats posted on babblers anonymous by now but no sign of it. He may be too busy with work.

sweet tooth - just came back - thanks for the O list.
A nudge in the right direction for the ch8/55? I have the ch8/50.
Ch8/55: widely distributed black to brownish-black chromium ore ...
I've just found it! For others in the same position, it is completely different from the words preceding it.
Haz - go to sprite's post at 2:07.
And an L list, if possible.
Right, have to get on with the rest of the day. Will be back later, hopefully. Time to go shopping and stock up on ca 4/7 and ja4/9. There'll be lo5/16 to go with le6/18 soup.

'Night, SweetTooth.
Anyone has L, R and S lists please?
Nite Sweet Tooth - thanks for th ehelp.
New to Babble. What do the numbers mean?
liz - for example ea4/6 means it is a four letter word and the points for each letter add up to 6 (as in the word "each").
zubie - did you get all the L words? I don't have too many of them yet.
No, Dianne. I have just 9 of them and am stuck. Missing an S and two R's too.
zubie - I have all the S words - give me your list so I can fill in the missing blank for you.

hi everyone! i'm back after a breakk from the addictive babble. ;D anyways, have got my little sister, and my family staring at the grid on their own screen, with my sis thinking out loud. it's quite amusing. =)
hi renne
hi karenth!
HI MARIE! (my thinking-out-loud little sister) having fun? xD
shut up reneee. xD
heehee. =)
you know i love you <3 [even though you've GIVEN UP]
Hello everyone. Housework done now I can concentrate on the favourite pastime. Looks like a fairly good one today yes?
Morning. Is it me or is the 2nd letter list not yet posted at B.A.?
Good morning all... that's weird, 162 words 2 days in a row? I'm not complaining, could be worse!
It's not you, brandyjack doesn't always post at the weekend.
But if you go back through the log there are loads of listings (and good clues too).
Ho-- Thanks. I try to never underestimate my capacity for ignorance.
It's a bit more challenging without his list but with the aid of the log and some monkey typing have made it to 120 words so far.
If only the second half went down as easily as the first half. Sigh.
Know what you mean!! .... but where would the fun and pain be then? LOL
I could use a little more fun in my life; pain, not so much. Of course, Babble hurts so good.
Can anyone help with a clue for the st5/10 just cant see it/find it. thanks
don't worry as soon as I posted I found it :)
Can anyone give me a hint on the E word and the i word. I have i 4/4 but have no idea how many letters or totals the missing e and i words are. Thanks!
io 4/4 io 5/10
If you go back to entry in the log at 1.57 you will se the how many words and the cout etc - hope that helps as I haven't got the ones you are looking for... yet!
*gives self dope slap for the io5/10*
Thank you mstars. That shows what happens when you refuse to give up a puzzle. I had the io 4/4 and just did not see the other even though it was so obvious.
yw

162 AGAIN!!? :)
e6/21 means to trap. Last 4 letters are one of the to4/4 words ...
that'll be e6/18 not 21!
Chessy - you do not know how much I aprreciate your help! I am finished!!!!!! This is the 4th straight puzzle I have finished and it has only been because of the helpful hints from all the other players. Have a great day and thanks a million!!!!
Any clues for the second te5/10?????
dalm-- Congrats
Never mind -- just figured it out -- staring me in the face!
y/w dalmatian :)
Just read the log. Richard and Sarah - so sorry to hear of your sad loss.
Patrice can I have a clue to that 2ns te5 please
anyone know how many words today?
162 words
Can I have a hint for an 7/44 ? (It's my last one.)
mstars, if you are for peace, you are an7/44 ...
malars think no more fighting...:D
mstars - against fighting
Stats updated at Babblers Anonymous.
oh my gosh. that makes total sense. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. :-)
bj - many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks brandyjack you the man xxx
If anybody needs any hints and whatnot I can hang around for a little bit.
Thank you BrandyJack.
thanks brandyjack! and hello all!
Any clue for sh6/21 please
i would love a clue for the jo/5 amd jo6 please
Mstars can I have a clue on the 2nd te5/10 please
that pesky 9-5 thing has kept me away from babbling this week so am making up for lost time :)
davetins run down or sea song
The 2nd te 5/10 is a plural form of a te 4/4. when one goes camping, they sleep in these.
karen - jo5 ends with a fight ;)
Does anyone have a word list?
Thank you Karenth, Silly me I was thinking where was the y
brandyjack - your lovely stats say 161 words but it has been mentioned that its 162 - can you help?!?!
welcome
mstars, smack me with the haddock of obviousness to quote Anj - thanks
Nevermind...I found it!
I guess I should post this every so often. Sorrowful news. sandr lost baby. S in hospital.
Ho Hum, shall I pass you the pilchard of plurality :)
LOL Chessy - think I need it.
Very sad -- thoughts go out to them both.
joel - sorrowful news indeed.
Does anyone have a first letter list... been trying to make my own but keep getting the math wrong (yeah, we'll go with that story)
Thanks for the stats Brandyjack. I know they make the game easier but it does help to find the words without using other aids so much
Jera-- Brandyjack posted for today, just a bit ago.
jo6 is pluralizing a jo5. there are 2 jo5's. the other one (other than the fight one) is an acronym for something that one sits on and it goes around and around and around.
joelgee: I posted a notice on the babblers anon website also on the sad news...wish we had an address for them.
So sorry... I was ploughing through the whole list... gleaning tidbits...
Good job, Speed. I didn't want to intrude and ask for hospital or address at this point.
Well all, I'm off to bed. It's 630 am over here and I have yet to go to sleep for the night. Happy Babbling! :-)
thanx mslars
Afternoon all ;)
joelgee: Isn't it amazing how we all met thru a game, yet my heart is breaking for her...fell like we are all so close already..
Bubbles-- I was entrusted with a message, so I pass it on. sandr lost their baby. S in hospital.
My stats are missing the st5/10. Investigating why now. If anyone has a clue for the st 5/10. i might be able to figure out what popped.
speed-- know what you mean. kinda puts things in perspective.
finaly finished the d*** j's thanks for help
brandy: I have one that is an item they use in your heart ...ste5/10
joelgee, I've had a terrible week, but this certainly puts things in perspective. I feel so sorry for them both.
speed-- also, the word "community" comes to mind. I raise a glass in silence for sandr
Yes, that's the one that was missing. No idea why my solver doesn't allow it
joel - how far along was she. That is so sad
don't know any more than what Richard wrote. Didn't feel right asking details.
johnp: sadly she was full term, we had fun the other night giving her suggestions for going into labor...
omg that is just awful
Oh I thought maybe you knew just from chatting. sorry. We have had that happen and it is not easy, and sproing is right, it puts things in perspective
ohmygosh! poor her! that's so terrible!
OH NO! That is so sad!
Oh. Was that her? Geez. They talk about the first trimester. Oh geez.
oh dear, i feel like crying now. :(
Hi everyone. Just logged on to see the awful news about sandr. Is she okay?? Does anyone know her outside the game?
such sadness makes me not feel like babbling.
All we know is that she's in the hospital. I imagine Richard is pretty much in shock. That's it. That's all.
Oh, that is awful. I don't even feel like babbling now. I know we've never met most of the people we "see" everyday but I feel like she is a friend and my heart is just aching for her and her husband.
my thoughts are with them
Just checked in... what has happened?
anybody got j word hints?
i keep thinking about poor sandr, and about how I thought I was having a bad week and a bad day. and how now, that puts everything into perspective for me. i can hardly imagine how sad and shocked they must feel now...
Oh, dear. I just checked back in the log. I am so sorry.
I just read the log and am so sorry for their loss. How heartbreaking.
How sad, but isn't it nice to know that so many people on here care about someone we just babble with. It will make here feel happy to know so many people care.
just want to add my condolences to sandr. I hope they have some good nurses to help them through this. I am a labor nurse and have had to help other people with this. It really helps if they are good.
OOPSIES.I EXPELLED METHANE.
speed, thanks for posting in babblers anon. Maybe we should start a thread where we could post messages to sarah and richard (next best thing to sending a card?).
good idea lola
test <font color="#0000FF"> blue </font>
what you up to, brandyjack?
I just logged on. Horrible news. I'm crying. So sorry S and R. This is babble, but there are no words. Peace.
Was playing to see if Jamie allowed, or rather, if our browsers would allow colour changing commands in them when posted in the log.
Hey Lola Just logged back in had to take son to football, gave him an extra hug...started crying..tough day..
I saw Sprite's posting this morning and wondered if you were exploring that.
Exactly. Is nice idea, wanted to see if the capbility was already there. Didn't think it through. Wasn't smart to even test it.
Me too speed, me too. I have started a thread of condolences for sandr under general in babblers anon.
Fixed the stats at Babblers Anonymous by the way. The solver I use doesn't recognize the st 5/10 as a word.
BJ you will get a swamped with Christmas cards from all us gratful stat needers
yes you will!
brandyjack: from what I can remember a couple of months ago we petitioned Dr_God to add that word..maybe that was the bug
Hi All - just read the news :( That's so sad - my condolences to Sarah & Richard :'(
you know everyone what amazes me, what sarah and richard are going thru and she had him log on to tell us...Wow!! noone who doesn't "play" this game can realize that it is sooo much more..
Have to go for now. Will be back later.
speed-- amen.
Hi babe :'( Speed, so true. Just wish there was more I could do for them.
speed, that would definitely do it. I'll have to make a list of words that the solver doesn't recognise. It's not my solver so I cannot influence it in any way shape or form. Just have to catch the problems as they fall.
Anj: See you are up and about..how is the head, good concert last night?
Hi Babe :') Hi Speed. Head's OK thanks. Gig was very good. Feeling a bit muted today tho'...
You know Speed, what you say about this group is true. I'm not on all the time, but I feel as if I know you guys, and when I heard the news about Sarah and Richard, it really made me feel very very sad. You are very right....this is more than a game group
Good Morning, all -- Thank you brandyjack -- we missed you last night -- gave us a dose of reality!
Such news.. Morning all.
Hey, Deutsch. Everyone here pretty shocked and quiet.
Just told someone about the news. We're all sad here.
Hey Joel, Deutsch, Cyber. Just reflecting on what Speed mentioned. We are a family. This is more than a game sometimes, never more so than today.
Anj-- Amen.
I missed the news...what happened?
Hear Hear Anj. Well put.
good afternoon all Anj: couldn't agree more my friend.
so sorry to see such sad news, my condolances for sarah and richard, as well as prayers
Hi deutsch, bobsta, ovest. There is a condolence thread under general at babblers anon if you want to post a message for richard and sarah.
hi everyone - this is mrs. smeltzdog. anyway - i'm on under his name every now and then...anyway - in lieu of the circumstances, I just thought I'd introduce myself.. join the community as Joel mentioned earlier. You're all very nice.
Sandra & Richard - my condolences on your tragic loss. God bless.
I just read backwards and found out the news. So very hard to lose a much wanted baby
lola, thank you, will do. i'm new to emptynest and know how i grieved them leaving, can only imagine the horrible loss and grieving they are going through.
Hi mrs smeltz, nice to meet you. We are normally a bit more chirpy, bear with us today.
hi lola, i saw your earlier posting about the thread and went there straight away hon.
Just wanted to state today, in the past I have thanked you for help with clues and the fun..but so want to say thank you all for being friends and there everyday, when my son had trouble you were all so kind, we can never have enough friends to turn to..you all make me laugh and cry and I appreciate you all...don't know if I will babble anymore today.
Hi Mrs Smeltz, welcome!
Hi Anj - you are absolutely right -- half of the fun is the companionship while playing.
Ms. Smeltzdog-- Welcome.
Hey bobsta, thanks sweetie. I'm sure they will appreciate it.
Right back at you speed ((x))
Anj -- perfectly put.
Sad news this AM. I am new here so I don't know them but have been in a similar situation and feel some of their pain. "What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger."
Thanks for the thread, Lola. Took a while to think, but I finally posted. Welcome to our little family, Mrs. S.
Yes, I have been in R & S's situation too, and I feel deeply sorry for them.
morning all, sad news. I was just telling my boyfriend last night about what a great group of people the babblers are, this is proof - i will send my condolences
This is the Mr. My bride (of 2 months!) awoke me from my slumber (I was up til 2 starting this puzzle) to share the news. I truly am sorry.
Hi, everyone - I, too, mostly lurk. I've been babbling since August, but seldom join the chat because I only babble at work But I do enjoy reading the log, and feel that I've come to know many of the regulars. YOu are such a warm and kind community, and, because of that, I count every day that I can babble to be a plus.
goon one jrs same here
hear hear jrs
Dr_God. Just noticed that if you have the stats chart up while playing, the word count doesn't advance. The grid counts advance, but the word size counters don't. Refreshing or flipping forth and back updates them.
any clues for an7, at5 or ch6
an7 - against fights
good afternoon everyone ...... I read all the messages and I'm sorry to hear about their loss ... i'm new to the game but I know the pain it causes
at 5 - at an angle
BJ that might be something at your end, cos at mine it is one of the joys to see the grid update and go grey and for a red tick to apprear. Without having to f5 or anything.
got an7 thanks still working on an5
similar to the ti4/4
ch 6 is the first 5 letters of ch 8 with a vowel added to the end
how many words?
162 words today
Ok, now it's updating. But the seven letters did not update from 3 to 7. while i was doing them, but it just updated from 7 to 8 and ticked. Could have been my end with all the programs I have running in the background.
Subdued greetings Babblers...
Hi swmbo. Thanks for moving a few messages around on bab anon. Can I change the thread name? Was a bit upset when I started it and have realise that I put sandy instead of sarah.
stillcrazy -- can't get that to work, I must be blind, I have all the other CH's except 6
Just click the orioginal message lola and hit edit, can change any part of it.
wait a minute, I am missing a CH8 -now on to figuring it out
pbr, it's the shiny metal one, not the song leader or singers.
only use the first 5 letters of the 8 one and add the vowel that is in the first 5 letters
pbr - think DNA
8s Ch50: singers Ch55: widely distributed black to brownish-black chromium ore St40: any of several trumpet-shaped, ciliate protozoans of the genus St*****, living in dark freshwater pools and feeding chiefly on smaller microorganisms (pl) 7s An44: against fighting As36: dustbin Ca32: precentor, or Jewish religious official who leads the musical part of a service (pl) Ch36: singl. of 8/50 Mi32: to keep your hands warm Sa40: colorless or pale yellow oily liquid, derived from oil of sassafras and other essential oils and used in making perfume and soap St28: singl. of 8/40 To28: places to relieve yourself
pbr - you will end up in the bottom right hand corner.
Thanks brandyjack.
oops forgot there were two 8 letter ones...so sorry
Got them both--thanks!!!!!!! need more coffee
Unfortunately, it will only change your message. It won't change everyone elses. They'll have to do it themselves, or SWMBO will have to change them. Most seem to know her name is Sarah, but a few don't. Their online acronym confuses more than a few of us.
Thanks for those clues Jack. You rock!
help! i can't find the last ca 5/12!
swmbo: Thank you for keeping the site so well, you are awesome, can ovest's message be deleted when she thought she had the name wrong? I hate to edit anyone elses' words?? Home alone today so would rather be with you guys...
Thanks for all the clues brandyjack - so now I have all the 7's & 8's, but with 97 other words to go, i've still along haul ahead of me!!
I can't figure out the first ca 5/12. The second is based on the ca6/21, ca7/32 that follow it.
Those clues came from sprite much earlier in the day, with only her faux pas cleaned up.
brandy add a vowel to the end of your ca4/5
there are two ca4/5's and my list shows a ca5/12 following the first one. But there is only one reachable vowel after the first one and babble says no way. Of course, once I looked at it (just now), I found the consonant thatreally follows it and changes the container into an olde english negative.
Hi everyone, had to take a short break. But I'm ready to babble.
Ok, thanks Sprite and Jack
just back from shopping (groan) thanks swimbo for putting my message in th right place
how many w words today?
ca5/12 (first) - He ca... do this (old form of the verb meaning to be able to) ca5/12 (last) - plural of ca4/5 (2nd one)
only have one of the CA 6's -- the one that with plural gives me CA7 -- what am I missing
162 words today
The one that sounds like a flaming stick of wax and wick crossed with the top shelf on a fireplace. Def: The raised rear part of a saddle.
And here I though ca*** was a negative. English is such a confusing language...................... .
can I ask a question? if you sign up for babble pro how long before you can use all the goodies?
Groovy, I could use mine immediately. You okay in florida?
Oh hi! how are you ? us , yeah we are fine here .. my stepbrother in Jupiter will be without power till 11/20

smeltz - I had a problem uploading a new icon yesterday -- in time it did pop up when I least expected it! Don't know if the system was slow or if Dr. God intervened!

Well, I'm back for more... finished the 6's & now I just have 60 smallish words to find!
Now, there's an sc6/21 eluding me. Help, please.
Joelgee, think gonads (or look down)
hey everyone ! thought i'd try to get a few more words in before we go out to eat lunch .. hubby's not ready yet ! still playing his game .......
Griff - Got 'em, er .. it
:D One of the last things you want to elude you!
Thanks.
well, it's eluding me still.. or i'm spelling it wrong!!!
so does this get any easier the more you play?? lol
mama- think plural
In a way, GG... you learn some of the weird words most people don't use in normal conversation... that helps...
johnp - still not seeing it ..... and yes, groovygranny - it does get easier.
thats soo true I found words in puzzle I have never heard of lol
Think male gonads... what holds them...
okay Jera, I just fell off my chair...
Sorry Griff... trying to be delicate...
:))) So nice to know that as we age, our capacity for juvenile humor doesn't diminish
hehe with all those clues you would think i'd know that one ...... but nope
finally hubby's game is over !! yeah no more gunshots and time for lunch !!! stay groovy and see ya in a few !!! hugs xoxox
mama - it is a word that usually ends in um, but in this case ends in -a
I think it's plural... scary mental image...
I need to scoot in 20 minutes to finish getting ready for the Halloween party...
missing 1 RO 4. I have the ones that mean: 1. job for actor 2. to displease, disturb or make muddy 3. roll call, roster 4. unit of weight. CAN ANYONE HELP W/ the 5th RO 4?????
hello everyone! :)
kjs- I think I'm missing one of yours, unless we have different definitions. Do you have the type of bread? Similar to roll call but with different vowel ending?
An island of the western Pacific Ocean in the southern Mariana Islands north of Guam. Take the ta from which they make poi. Turn it inside out.
No, I didn't have the bread. I was missing that one and I just found it! So now I am done! :)
162 words and 1852 points up for grabs today
Oops, gotta go... one more mo5 to go, wanted to finish that section! I well, I'll be back after the party... bye all!
I'm stumped by a to5/10 and a to6/21. Any help?
Iam having a hard time with this puzzle today. Is it harder today or am I just slow today?
Based on the echo in the room, I guess I have the answer to my question. : )
:) yeah, i am a bit slow today too
got the gonad thing.... funny.... thanks johnp - can't find the bread though - brain not functioning well today
Thanks, Leslie Ann. Misery loves company....
ohrom - i'll join that misery boat you are floating in today.. sorry I didn't spell your name right - couldn't remember that many letters til I got down here!!!!
Don't sweat it, Mamma. My babble name is Czech and it means "something that sparkles so bright that you can't look away from it". You can call me "O" though. : )
hi peeps, its me 1st time...i'm not doing so good, need help on longer words plz ;-D
This game is so fun!
Ok "O" - that is a cool name - mine is not so poetic....
Hey Mama. You are from Chicago? Congrats on the WhiteSox win if you are a fan of the socks.
Yes I am - and YES I AM!!!! Been a White Sox fan all my life. I am working on a halloween costume to wear to work on Monday (most people I work with are CUBS fans) - I am going to take the blades off a small portable fan, put sox decals on them, mount it on cardboard and put rope things on to put around my arms (backpack style) where the fan blade thing will be in front of me.... and I will be a ?????????? Anybody??????
This kinda hard
a sox fan, of course... do you live in the city mamabear?
haahaha that is clever.
Yeah I guess it was pretty obvious!!! LOL - yes I live on the south side - in the Garfield Ridge area - the outer edge of the city - a half block from me is out of the city
BaileyBrat - you went from "this game is fun" to "this is hard" in a matter of FOUR minutes - I think that's some kind of record!!!!!!
oh ok i am from the west burbs, but my sis lives in pilsen
I grew up on 23rd & Kedzie - your sister most likely knows where that is
I live in New York but I used to live in the midwest and visited Chicago a lot. I keep telling my fellow New Yorkers that "once you go deep dish, you don't go back". I miss the pizza in that city a lot. I was on Giordano's website last night trying to figure out if they can fedex one to Manhattan.
not me, though! get lost most every time i go up there :)
Haven't been in that area for many years.... "O" - I know what you mean - they just built a Home Run Inn about 6 blocks from my house.... nothing like Chicago Pizza!!!!
Well, I have to get ready because I have a movie date this afternoon. See you guys later. Happy babbling.
missing ch 8/ 55 ch 6/ 27 please help
Have fun O !!!!!! What movie you seeing?
i would love to minski - but i don't have them yet
ditto
Mamma: It is a romantic movie (sort-of). : ) We are going to see "Paradise Now" which is a movie about a suicide bomber who falls in love with some lady. Should be interesting, if nothing else.
ch8/55 the shiny stuff on a fender plus the last for letters rhyme with tite
help with cr 5/14 please - can't find it in the a2z
cr5/14 what happens when you run a light
Linda: CR 5/14 is what happens when 2 cars run into eachother.
LindaO - if you have a car accident - you are in a cr***
i can't believe i couldn't see the cr 5!! thanks all
Thanks Babble Dude. How about one for the CH 6/27 THanks.
anything on the ch 8/50?? or the ch 7/36 or ch 6/27?
same beginning, different ending in a vowel
the 7/36 and 8/50 are a person/persons who ch 5/14s
california pizza is the best we've found thus far
Leslie Ann - thanks - just need the ch 6/27 and my ch's are done... that's a start!!!
babble dude just gave a clue for that
ooops. got it now. thanks babbledude & LeslieAnn
If the puzzle allows the as 6/24, I wonder why it doesn't allow the same word beginning with a tr ????
because they're two words
and the as 6/4 isn't two words???
good point...it must have a different meaning
Been popping in and out all day. Condolences to Sarah And Richard. Hope the love from all helps the healing process. Goodnight all
Goodnight mu, see you soon.
g'nite mu!!!!! sleep well
Back again to finish off. How are we all? Hi babe :) Cute icon Mamabear :)
Thanks Anj!!!!
Hey babe ((x))
Anj, lola-- How you doin'?
Still sad joel, but getting there. How about you?
hi all! Just got back from holiday to find a rather subdued atmosphere around. Just scrolled down and discovered why. We all come here to relax and have a good laugh (usually at each otheres ineptitudes!), but sometimes reality transcends all. Obviously, heartfelt condolences go to those who have lost.
Hi Joel. Feeling a bit chirpier now
Hi Dachef. Well said.
finally finished :)
Hi dachef! Yup, a bit blue round here today. We missed you tho', how was your holiday?
Weird. Sad. Thinking about sandr. Talked with a friend. She didn't get how some people playing a word game could feel so much about people they only know online. Just mostly quiet and being obsessive about the Babble thing. Don't really want to do much else.
Well done bodkinz - i've still got 24 to find!
I have two words left. They're both m-words. I think one is mo5/12.
holiday was pretty relaxing - thanx! Finding babbling really tough today cos Ive been speaking nothing but Spanish for a week! Keep thinking, why doesnt it accept that?
joel, I think unless you spend the time on here playing, joking around you can't understand. It's more than just a game, we are a community of friends.
mo 5/12 is plural of mo 4/5
I'm missing one mo4/5 too. Figures.
I could be wrong. Sometimes I lose track. All I know for sure: two m-words: one is a 4 and one is a 5.
found the last 4-letter word. Too obvious for words.
joelgee - need the fish?
I need something. I don't think it's a fish.
That's it. Done. Hope we hear from sandr soon, but not holding my breath. the missing mo5 was a plural. Obvious beyond obviousness.
can anyone point me in the right direction of the an 7 please?
To be against nations fighting one another.
Well done joel :)
Mama, think of the 'troops out of Iraq' lobby
mambear - somebody who is against fighting is "an*****".
lola, thanks. seems like a hollow thing, though.
thanks all!!!! somehow I thought it would be the same as one of the an 5's - but then I don't have them either!!! c'mon brain - kick in
oh happy days! just finished for today. can now go and finish reading the newspaper and do the su du kos!
Well done linda :)
Mamabear, one of the an5's is an anagram of Kris Kringle
the other an5 is like a shaver with an extra letter
gnubee - thanks - got the guy in the edr utis!!!!! working on the shaver clue.....
Would some kind soul give me a hint for st 8/40 ?
plural of st 7 / 28
which is just an extention of st 5/10
st 7 / 28 is st 5 / 10 with an additional ending
ty pine and leslie
Hi all. I pretty much lurk (my brain doesn't work very well when I try to find the words and chat at the same time). I feel the sadness from every one for our babbler friends. I think in todays world is nice to know that so many people from all walks of life can truly care about someone. Gives one faith in the human race.
can i please get a clue for the an 7/44?
ajschuring - well said. and very true.
an 44 against fighting
an 7 . 44 clues have been posted...someone who is against fighting
see joelgee's clue at 2:51 for the an 7 clue...
Good evening fellow Babblers. I was going to come in here and moan about my bad back - missed a chair yesterda evening and landed on my coccyx - but, having read back through the log, it hardly seems important in the great scheme of things. Heartfelt condolences from myself and Paul go out to Sarah and Richard in their sad time of loss. xx
how's about sa 6/27?
Hi jacs. Sorry to hear about your back, hope you feel better soon. There is a condolence thread under general at babblers anon if you want to leave a message.
jacula - there is a string of messages started in the babanon log for condolence messages if you would like to add to it there too
Thanks Mamabear & Lola. I will.
jacula Sorry about your back, I hate when those stupid chairs move like that.
Did I hear earlier that the word total is 163?
john p - there are 162 jacula - hope your back is better - do you have a heating pad??? that will help. or a nice long hot bath
What/where is babanon?
Oh good, then I'm done. Does anyone need clues before i leave?
johnp - sure ---- I need 68 words still. where would you like me to begin???? LOL ...... congrats on being done - go enjoy the day!!!
Doreen - over on the right there is a "friends of babble" box - at the bottom of the list is the Babblers Anonymous link - click on that - once in there click on General - will take you to message log
Thanks mama, you really are holding the fort for us at the moment. Much appreciated.
I've got one of those lavender and wheat filled teddy bears that you heat up in the microwave. Paul bought both me and my daughter one last Christmas. I may well try that out on my back. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hello everyone..just dropped in for a few between school and church...sad news...will certainly light a candle for them...see you later.
lola - yvw.... but I am the one that should be doing the thanking. finding the world of babble came at a time in my life when I needed some friends. This has truly filled a void for me right now and I am the one that is appreciative...... although Idid not chat directly with sandr, I saw some of her posts and I truly am sympathetic .....
how about ca 6/21 (not the one that is also plural)
ca6/21 - the raised, rear part of a saddle. Sounds a bit like a ca you would light.
hail to all
Hi Jac, Temple, Blaze...
Hello Anj Jac... and all missed you guys lately...
Hi Anj., Blaze and anyone I've not yet greeted.
ah, thanks jacula
Well mama, you know you've got friends here :) Hi blaze.
lola great icon....is that a fractal?
Thanks blaze, I think so. Googled it a while ago and can't quite remember how I got it.
there were some great websites on the other nite that featured the fractals etc... I think it was Baggo....
Gosh, it's like Bonfire Night outside here... fireworks going off left, right and centre. One of the cat's is out - hope he comes home soon.:-/
No idea why I used a 'greengrocer's apostrophe' back there in 'cats' ! Oops!
what is a fractal? and jacula, why the fireworks?
We try to keep our cats in as much as possible. one of them will hide in the pot cupboard when he is scared.... in our community fireworks have been banned this year.
Mamabear - It's Bonfire Night next weekend but a lot of people seem to be having it this weekend instead. We're off to an organised evening at a local pub next Saturday night - bonfire, fireworks and a pig roast. Hope the weather's better than it was last year!
http://www.karinkuhlmann.de/ check this site out for art and it has fractals.
Mama bonfire night in England is like Halloween in north america
sa 6/27?
That's a good site. I can't remember where I found mine...
Hallowe'en's getting more popular over here, Blaze.
jacula - sounds like jolly good fun!!!!! Halloween here is not one of my favorite holidays....
can someone tell me the total word count today please???
When I was a kid it seemed like great fun dressing up and all but now adays it seems so commercial and who wants there kids going to strangers doors for candy....???
Tia - there are 162 today - good luck!
bonfire nite sounds like fun. have a goodtime next weekend. hope your cat comes back too. my dogs are scared to death of fireworks.
The only thing I enjoy is trying to come up with costume ideas to wear to work - I usually win 1st place for creativity *blush* - one year I was dressed in a blue sweatsuit - blue gloves, had a blue "Loop" of material on my head and was holding a saucepan.... I was a ?????
Tele tubbie ??
When I was a child we'd sometimes play Hallowe'en games like apple-bobbing but never dressed up or trailed round the neighbourhood knocking on doors. Wouldn't be a safe thing to do these days - I never let my kids do it when they were younger. We (my generation of children, not my own children) did trail round neighbour's houses with a 'Guy' though - 'Penny for the Guy'. LOL.
Mamabear - an ovenglove??
gas flame ???
a potholder???
the cook for the blue angels? ;P
baffled mama
Good grief, I am having trouble with my apostrophes tonight! I think that bang on the coccyx must've addled my brain; I'm normally excellent with them. LOL. *neighbours'
good job Jacula & ajschurling!!! - I was a potholder. Want to guess another one????
Go on then, Mamabear...
we had trick-or-treating last nite. it started pouring down rain right after it started. Poor kids got soaked. I always like seeing the little ones all dressed up.
puh-lease does anyone have sa 6/27?
Thanks for the site blaze, will check it out when I've finished today.
Blaze - many people did guess Tele-tubbie!!!! but potholder was correct. Ok how about this one: I made a long tan colored loose dress - sprayed the chest area with spray adhesive and sprinkled it with sand, and glued some seashells around. I wore a witch's hat with netting going from the top tip down to the rim and hung seashells randomly on that -and then did various witch accessories - black nails, long black wig, etc....... I was a ??????
leslie I don't have it either
a sand witch!
Mamabear - a Loreli?
mamabear - sand "witch"
Leslie I am no where near the S words yet... sorry Mama a Sand witch
a beached witch?
LeslieAnn, take the e off your sa7/40
sa6, take the last letter off the sa 7
Hi everyone!

I wonder ... will my new avi show, or my old one ...?
pfffffffft. How long does it take new aviies to show normally?
atalante very nice new icon..
I just refreshed, Atalante. You are no longer pondering and are very bright today!
you need to refresh your screen
deustch very nice new icon too....
Thanks. I did it special for today.
oh yayyyy! the talk of fractals made me want a pretty thing for a change :)
Hi atalante. Very pretty :) Thanks Anj, getting there :)
Deutsch - nice touch with the icon - very fitting

LeslieAnn, thanks so much. They were really obvious ones.
Blaze, thank you too!
peri y/w how are you?? haven't connected for awhile
LislieAnn - for the sc word - think about where a man's gonads are kept...... (plural?)

Good....
leslie- change the last letter of your other sc5/12.
leslie think small amount

Oh, I've finished! Thought I still had an mo5/12 to find. *Beetles off to see which word she's forgotten to write down.*

Well done atalante :)

Well done Jac, Atalante. I've got one to go and I can't see it. to6/21
Thanks to others who helped with the last W word. Still have 58 words to find though.
babe, male cat and a gal ;)
Just tried adding a 't' to the end of ti5/10 - thought it might be a term for when they are just growing. LOL.
anj, the first three letters are a boy's name and the last three is slang for a female body part
i need my to 6/ 21 too...19 words left
lol! Got that straight away :D
thanks, Atalante
Yeah, thought you might :)

still need 62 - going "pro" sure doesn't make it quicker!!! LOL
I am having trouble with all the sa words can anyone please help
'Bye Blaze.
mo 5 / 12 to shed + a vowel
Mo - a certain 70s curly hairstyle, af4/7, is at the centre of both the 'sa' words. Hope that helps.
Cat's come home now all the fireworks have stopped. He strolled in, looking 'not bothered'. Paul's scaring himself to death watching the film, 'The Day After Tomorrow'.
Hey hey everybody!! Watching my Noles NOT doing well against Maryland and finishing up Babble. How's everyone today?
Jacula I'm so glad your cats home safe and sound
Hi Jen. We're somewhat subdued because of Sarah and Richard (sandr)'s news of the loss of their baby.
Thanks ajschuring. So am I!
Jac, that film is based on a book called the Coming Global Superstorm. Hollywood stirred it up a little but the basic premise holds true. And the north Atalantic conveyor has already broken once due to a heavy run off of meltwater down the St Lawrence Seaway. :/
Jacula thanks i will work on that ....
Mo - the sa4/4 is like a shiny material with no end.
Goodness! I am very sorry to hear about that! Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sarah and Richard.
thank you Jacula for the sa clues
Anj - I know. I've been reading up on it.:-( It's the things that *could* happen that are scary, more so than 'horror' films.
Jen, there's a thread at babbleanon if you want to check.
The heavy run off of meltwater down the St Lawrence Seaway was a long time ago though ... and linked to ice age conditions we haven't got at the moment thank goodness!
how is everyone ? just trying to finish the rest
missing the li6/18 any clues? thx
Jac they already are...we're getting tornados here already and our summer/winters are becoming more extreme in spasms.
Jacula tyvm for the sa clues i have them now
li 6 / 18 is a food
winter is starting we had snow today after all day it only coated a few areas...not ready for cold
oops .. I meant le 6
It's very windy here in UK at present. Tail-end of one of the hurricanes, I suppose.
have the le6..
Mo - T'was a pleasure. Glad to be of help.
li 6 / 18 looks like it would rhyme with "young cat"
Anj - yes. It's worrying, although there's nothing we can do about it. On the subject of scary films - I thought 'Towering Inferno' was frightening. Another all too realistic scenario.
thx been monkey typing but missed that li got it now
Anj - My daughter went to see 'Saw2' yesterday. Very gruesome, she said. She's gone to Subculture in Brum for the Hallowe'en 'do' tonight. I suppose she and her boyfr will crawl in around 5am.:-(
Yee Haw!! Finally done. Anyone need help before I go to get some work done. Really I don't mind putting off work a little longer. LOL
I still freak out when I think about how I felt coming out of Silence of the Lambs for the 1st time! My roommate and I slept with the light on that night.
jacula my son saw that movie last night..he loved it!! typical teenager
Jacula where in the UK are you I am on the N Notts Lincs border and it is very calm at the moment
Saw 2 is on poo's must see list... she's laughing at Friday the 13th right now
missing the 2nd mo6/21 someone gave me a clue earlier meaning move but still haven't found it
speedfreak, use a ti4/4
speed mo+floor covering
speed, you would think of a B in that word but it's a T instead.
Jac, i'm not into the saw style of film. I've heard Saw2 is a bit of a turkey tho'. I'm giving it Halloween at a Motorhead gig tomorrow night :)
Mo - Sorry for delay in replying. I was mooching around the BabAnon threads. I'm in Worcestershire - on the border near to West Midlands.
Paul's moved on to the horror channel now and 'Hellraiser'.
Growing up we used to have big parties at the drive in watching all the horror movies, so now I enjoy them, more than be afraid. some are just soo gory though..
Anj - sounds good. Have a headbang for me (makes me giddy doing it these days!) LOL.
Well Anj, people here in Canada are complaining about the cold and winters being more extreme lately. But fact is, the winters I remember from whan I was a pre-teen some 40 years ago were a lot worse. We would have snow at halloween and bu mid-november it would be here to stay until early april with at least one serious blow in the last week of April/first week of May. Only one year in the 23 I've been married have we had snow continuous from November onward. And only one april snow storm (I do not consider 6-8 inches over 48 hours a storm). While I don't doubt man is having an effect, I think nature and our sun have a much greater effect. Worst of it is, no way to prove anything or ameliorate any of it. Just have to sit here and take whatever blows our way.
I'm with you on that one BrandyJack. I think that, although man has some hand in what's happening, it is more a cycle of the earth that's at work.
I cant believe it is so windy there ...although we seem to be very fortunate weatherwise in this area ....not too much rain, and very rarely have snow
Speedfreak - Just reading the book 'Pet Sematery' freaked me out. I've never been able to watch the film!
jacula, that was one of his freakiest. That one bothered me and I've read all of Stephen King
well all, been off and on all day, finished the puzzle, doesn't seem like a big deal today, once again want to state to all my babble friends Thank You!! It is such a joy to have this "game" to come home to after work or just for fun on weekends, I have learned a lot and enjoy the chatter..Keep Safe Enjoy the Evening.:)
Jacula, snuck into that movie when I was a teen... had nightmares about my cats coming back to haunt me! Or maybe I am just a wimp about horror movies! lol
The Stand *really* freaked me out. Never watched that film! But I went to see Misery at the theatre last week, and that was wonderful
I recently recommended Stephen King and James Herbert as horror reading for a friend of my daughter's (her ex-boyfr.) He is loving the books. I'm going to start him off on Dennis Wheatley when he's finished the others, beginning with 'The Haunting of Toby Jugg' which, I believe, is one of the best horror books ever written.
I love Stephen King, but evil children is sooo freaky, that movie (and the book) were very.... *shivers*
*shudders* don't mention Dennis Wheatley! My mother gave me one to read when I was about 10. Read 2 pages and was so traumatised I wouldn't read horror books for years!
The Stand is the only King film my husband does like. It was fun here when he was filming that one.
LOL Atalante. I really do believe he was the maestro of the horror genre.
Hi Brandyjack. Yes, i've read somewhere about climate becoming more temperate. At least you get real weather over there and get on with it. The wheels tend to come off over here when we get a snowfall. I can only remember 2 bad snow winters in the last 20 years here, but they are forecasting a white one again over here this xmas.
I've never dared open another one of his books! The one I "read" was The Ka of Gifford Hillary. Is it really scary? Or was it just my 10 year old mind being horrified?
Speedfreak - have a good evening yourself.
'nite Speed - take care over there :)
I flew out to Toronto on 1st April 1996, with the Choir that I sing with, and we had heavy snow for most of the 10 days we were there. We couldn't go up the CN Tower, we couldn't even see it!
must away now see you all in a few days as we are off to Shropshire for a short break... good luck to everyone, bye
Atalante - I don't know. I haven't read that one. I'll certainly seek it out now though. Just checking my bookshelves (which are library-like in their vastness of choice of reading materials) I've got 'The Haunting of Toby Jugg', 'To The Devil, A Daughter', 'The Irish Witch' and 'Strange Conflict'. Could have sworn I've got 'The Devil Rides Out', too, but maybe it's got put back in the wrong place.
Have a good time, Mo.
Thanks Jacula
Shropshire? Lovely lovely!
Anyone still in need of clues or have we all finished?
HA6 for starters
he he The Devil Rides Out is on BBC3 right now!
only have 126 words. still working on it
I'm not done... that's why I'm not being very social... but I'm not ready for clues yet either

I managed to get 86 words rofl better than the day before =)~~

Enjoy your meal GroovyGranny.
thanks jacula got h6 now
thanks ! it's sandwiches lol I don't cook on Saturdays
ra6/18 - sounds like a drunken rodent.
Okay, I give up. I cannot see the first te5/10 for love or money :/ Please help?
Lola - te5/10 - Nickname for 'Minder', Te* plus 4th vowel and 3rd vowel.
te - plus three of the letters from the last L4/4
mi6 & mi7 - fingerless glove and its plural.
Thanks guys. Must have monkeyed every other possible combo in that area. I'm done.
Anj gives Lola a chaste peck on the cheek ;)
again thanks mi6/7 under control
hi - was gone for a while - sister came over..... i am not finished either - still need 52.... how lame
Thanks babe. Could go for a big hug and a slow dance though :)
thanks for all the help, they were ones I needed also
snap! MAMA BEAR, I've been out this evening and I still need 52 as well
Anj, at Nortel, we tend to snicker at our colleagues down south. Half an inch of snow and they are pooched. They have no snow plows, or sanders so they simply cannot deal with it. When it snows, they just shut the building and take a vacation. Occasionally one of them makes the seriously foolish mistake of travelling to Belleville in the winter. It's a hoot. But, we have the equipment to deal with it. Except for those pansies in Toronto that absolutely panicked couple of years ago when they got half a yard over the weekend. Some of them had heart attacks just thinking about shoveling their driveways. Of course, considering the roads there are much wider than their front yards, they probably wound up with 7 to 8 feet of the stuff piled on their front lawns afterwards. Damaged their scissor cut grass blades no end I'm sure....
'Anj gives Lola a chaste peck on the cheek'??? *Jac checks alcohol percentage of wine she's drinking.*
i am from maine and we love the snow!
EN6??
Northern mountains or coastal?
ExWren!!! Misery loves company!!! And good company at that..... we'll get there.
en clue given below...en + work
If we finally have proper snow in UK again this winter I will embarrass my kids by making snowmen and snowladies, and 'rude' snowmen and snowladies etc. LOL. If there's enough snow, I'll go up the hills at the back and do what we used to do on the hockey pitch at school - roll a giant snowball.:-)))
Although I guess even the coastal area gets plastered. Wifes grandmother lived across the boarder from Calais, and they got a lot more snow than we do. We tend to get the -30C weather though so it evens out.
portland area/coastal
Ok im addicted ... back already threw the oven on and have 5 mins for preheat
chicken sandwhiches sounded easy =)
the farmer's almanac is predicting one hell of a winter....bring it on
hi brandyjack nice to meet you .. Im carol from Orlando and im a bonafide cold whimp lol
welcome back groovygranny - yes you are hooked!!!! if you are babbling through your preheat.... you're a goner!!!
jacs, I got excited when we had about 4 inches of snow last february....was the first I'd ever seen. Played in it like a two year old and embarassed myself in front of the new neighbours. We'd just moved, I think I am still known as the crazy South African at no 8 :)
Mama I think soo too !!!
I haven't seen snow since I was in NY in 99' it was 26 below and I was miserable .. it drops below 65 here and im freezing ..... thats bad !!!
Lol, Lola.:-))) I was just off looking in my archives for pics of me in the Very Cold Winter of ... not sure what year, but I look no more than 18 months to 2ish in the pics. Maybe 3. Was born 1957, so could have been 1960. Can't find pics at the moment though.
Mmmmmm, snow. We had about 3 feet at one time last winter in Nebraska, but I doubt I'll see that much here in DC! lol
I must admit to being a bit worried about this whole "coldest winter in 65 years" thing I keep hearing :/ I'm not built for that kind of weather, lol!
To go to NY I had to go buy a coat ... I gave mine away when we moved here to Orlando ....
Hi all
Lola I have a friend who lives here and is from Grimbsy ... she is soo much fun !
Hi Schroeder.
Hi Schroeder!!!!!
thanks for all the help. I think I'm done for today. My hubby's b-day, and have to do something with him. Have a good evening all.
doxy - ask him if he wants to babble!!!!!!
Many Happy Returns to your hubby, doxy1lover.
We haven't had our first snow yet here. Had plenty last year (5' overnight once)
he was actually helping me this morning, drives me crazy having him looking over my shoulder
thank you for the drunk rat clue
I've just put a cd of Maeve Binchy stories on, but I'm not concentrating on it. I'll listen to it when I'm ironing tomorrow.
Groovygranny, being cold at 65 isn't whimpy, just being acclimatised. I don't have much trouble with the winters here because I just quit wearing my shorts a week ago. Temperature was all of +1C/34F thursday morning. Now that I'm wearing long pants, even the polrar bears cuddle up to me for warmth. And possibly a little snack too.......
pinecone - I saw that clue earlier, but couldn't find the lush rodent for the life of me
hey guys......sad news...very sad
groovy- Grimbsy? Sorry, that's not ringing any bells :)
brandyjack - polar bears???? did you say POLAR BEARS???
pinecone can you direct me a little with the drunken rat one...have monkey puzzled and thought and NADA
BrandyJack - Stopped wearing your shorts last week? Oh! You've not beaten the Geordies and the 'Monkeyhangers' (apologies to those who live on the Tees for that expression) then.
Hi tbear, how you doing? There's a thread at bab anon under general if you want to leave them a message.
TBEAR - glad i'm not the only one not smelling the rat
Lola - Grimsby's in NE Lincs. There's one in Ontario, too.
I was born in the year of the rat 1960...but it hasn't helped me.... LOLa....will do
ra6/18. Another clue - rodent + ending of word that is oppisite to stalagmite, or, as one of my teachers used to say, 'Mites go up, ***es come down!' LOL.
gotta leave for now with 125 words..maybe later.
tbear- if it's the ra6 you are after...add the opp of loose.
see ya pbr!!!!!!! A good day's babble-work!!!!
I've actually never seen a polar bear except at the zoo. And given the size of those mobile dental displays, don't ever want to.... Doesn't get cold enough here for them Although one year it dropped to -30C on New years and stayed there for 3 months. Was hard on the vehicles.
It's hammering down with rain here now, still v. windy, too.
I found the rat!!!
Thanks guys.....for yr help
It is my dream to someday go see polar bears in the wild. Have an excellent zoo 10 min. away and go there as often as I can to see them. They have 4 of them right now and the matriarch of the group is with cub(s)!!
BrandyJack - I HATE seeing polar bears in captivity. They look so... brain-damaged; so depressed, pacing and pacing, and pacing. No capitve area is big enough for them.
brandyjack , my son is in the Air Force stationed in Greenland .. I talked to him 2 days ago and they have a polar bear feeding at the trash bins ... they are trying to get someone to come trap it .. if it gets agressive they are going to shoot it
ok, now I am gone --finally got the RA6
'Bye pbr.
Jacula - If you ever come to Illinois - you must come to Brookfield Zoo - Brookfield is a suburb of Chicago. The best zoo I have ever seen.
hi all!
hey Diane nice to meet you
good evening DianeM!!!!!!! just starting?
Hello DianeMarjorie. Mamabear - I will.
Hi DianeM
groovygranny - I have a son-in-law also in the Air Force stationed in Minot, ND. Now THERE'S snow!!!! They had 90 degree weather on October 1st and got 9 inches of snow on October 4th this year!!

162 words today.
oh wow mama !! my son said they are in darkness again as of today I think he said .... the avg temp in July is like 40 and way below freezing in the winter .. I would die in Greenland !
Mamabear - just checked to see if that zoo has a webcam. No joy so far though.:-(
jacula - their website is www.brookfieldzoo.org
I was hoping he would have called or been online. Today is his 25th birthday .....dosen't seem like he should be 25 lol the older he gets the older I get lol

Actually, a better clue might be to say, 'complete the record title' - Hare Krishna Ma****'.
think of those DC demonstrators
mama, think of those DC demonstrators fro your jo's
Ty for an clues got them.
Robert - for the an7/44 - think of Joan Baez. She was very an4/4 + endless wa4/8.
got that one jac, ty.
robert - thanks. never heard of em before, but thanks! how about the sa 6/27 and sa 7/40?
i just found those by chance. think of a spice for paella to start, takeaway the last three letters, and then add an actors part
Mamabear - who was the heroine of Louisa May Alcott's 'Little Women'? She starts the jo words you need. Use her plus wa4/8 for your plural and take off the last letter for your singular form.
any clue for to6/21?
the to cracks me up, man/boys name, plus singlular female mammary part
I gave a clue for the 'sa' words some time ago in the log... ...a certain 70s curly hairstyle, af4/7, is at the centre of both the 'sa' words. Hope that helps.
got em - thanks Jacula & Robert
there was a clue given before for the to,,,male turkey + boobs
hi everyone! So how's the beast today?
thanks AEuser and pinecone
I need a clue for the last mo...the 3rd mo 6 / 21
tomtit
AEuser - the'to' is a bird.
Hi Temple - could be worse.... how you doin?
Hello Temple Owl. Did you light that candle?
Erm - Temple Owl - why did you just post a word in the log?
oh i am SOOOOOO sorry ! i would say i'm a little unccoordinated today! LOL!
whatever it is, that word just puts a smile on my face
Jacula - how is your back? Did your warm teddy bear help???
Oh well! Never mind! Don't forget to type it into the box under the grid! LOL.
Yes jac i surely did....
Hi everyone, I'm back to get the last two.
Back is eased at the moment, thanks, Mamabear. Haven't used the teddy yet, think the gas-lift chair and the Chardonnay are doing the trick for now. Strangely enough, one of the most comfortable seats I normally have (car seat on passenger side) was excruciatingly painful to sit in earlier when we went shopping, as were speed bumps!) Paul obligingly drove home the long way to avoid them on the way back.
pinecone, the last mo means spotted or blotchy
any clues for the as's?
Looks like I'll have to cut this one short. Have a going away party for one of my students going to Tawain for 2 years. Should be back for the next round...
for the as think dustbin
Robert think dustbin
as's: something you may put your cigarette out in, and the plural
welcome back Deutsch - I envy you needing only 2 - growing weary today...still need 41
ty ae
Pine, we're channeling each other! lol
see ya Schroeder - have fun at your Parteeeeee!!!
i feel stupid about those.
'as' words - imagine stubbing your cigarette out in a tin rather than a 'tray'. Odd thing is, although Babble accepts both of these words, it doesn't accept them with a 't' at the start although those words describe dustbins.
How many more, Mama?
thank you AEuser for the blotchy clue
Robert - the only word that does not exist in Babblonia is stupid..... Deutsch - I still need 40
Whew, I'm back... how is everyone this fine almost Halloween evening?
your welcome pinecone and robert, it's nice to actually be able to give clues rather than needing them
all i need is the sc 6/21. any thoughts???
and ty mama
AEuser - it's all a process!!!! Welcome back Jera!!
Hi Jera.
sc 6/21 - I love this clue - what holds a man's gonads!!!
sounds like latin for the body part on the male that holds the testes
sc6/21 - think male genitalia.
sorry, that was pertaining to the sc word
ty jac. . . but i often do! :)
Jacula..... OK, I am,...... NOW WHAT????? LOL
Robert - it ends in a short 'thank you' rather than a gastric word.
Ok, I give, I need the first ca 5/12, the one before the poem part, please.
no, i got it. . . .
deutch. old fashioned way of sayin ca4/5
Deutsch - add a t to the end of your ca 4/5
Deutsch - ca word - think Shakespeare 'ca*** thou?'
Hey. Just stopped by for a moment. How's everybody doing?
Robert - glad you've got it. LOL. Mamabear - had you alrady got that word or were you just off dreaming on the clue? ROFLOL.
As I am an angel today, Bless you one and all! I have finished! *flaps wings joyously*
I'm going to the opera tonight...but I need to find one more word first! Can I get a clue for the ti 6 / 18
Jacula - have the word... dreaming on the rest!
pinecone, ti is a very small bit What opera tonight?
ti6/18 goes with tattle.
pine-- replace the first letter of your mi6/21
An angel blesses.... a mamabear gives bear hugs.... consider yourself bear-hugged. And congrats on the puzzle doneness!!!!
pinecone..ti6/18...think ti......tattle
just reading what you all are typing ...... lol thanks for the clues ! im soo stuck
hey mamabear....I give good bear hugs too you know...hhhmmmm
Bear, you scared me. thank goodness mama was squeezing me tightly! lol
pine- sorry. misread. the saying goes, "I don't give a ti/6 or a jot."
Oooh! There is a naked man sitting on my right. I may have to go soon.:-)))
get in line tbear!!!!!
Jacula, can you see his sc 6?
Yeah! I got my last word...thank you tbear and joelgee..The opera is a version of Graham Greene's The End of the Affair.
say good nite, jacula!!!!!
Deutsch -:-))))
thank you deutsch and jacula for the clues.
*blushes* I hope Dr. God didn't hear that. But I guess he knows all.
I need heklp with the last dastardly ro4... I have the weight, the island, stir & play a part... help!!
Gosh, it's warm in here!
pinecone, not familiar with that one. Will look for a review tomorrow! Enjoy!
Jera - you turn roasting meat on a ro**sserie. Think that's the word you're looking for.
Back in a min. Naked man has disappeared. *Now... where's he gone.....?*
jera....not sure but it's either another word for rosta or what a spring does changing c for r
Found naked man - he only came in here during film break. He's back on sofa now, watching too gory film for me!:-(
Hope recent posts weren't too raunchy for readers. Although true, they're only teasers. No gory details would ever be given!
...bit of a passion killer?
Just curious, how many words are there today?
Thanks, Jacula... even with the naked man, you give good help... tbear, that's the stir one, but thanks for trying (I need all the help I can get)!
CNote - 162 of the little buggers
thanks
*wanders off to find last 9 words...*
Anj - the state my coccyx is in tonight, and he's pulled his shoulder also, passion's already been nipped in the bud. LOL.
tbear - did you get the word in the end?
Jac sits wondering what Jera's last 9 words are...
ha4/5 and ha6/21. what am I missing (clue please)
ha4/5 - same as ca4/5 but different start. Ditto for ha6/21 with ca6/21.
thx Jacula...had that one..
Hey Bear - how are you?
I already have ha4/5 and ha6/21. I am missing the last H and need a clue please.
ok Anj and you? Bit tired and thinking of pillows...
must leave you all. good night
g'nite Deutsch - sleep well Angel!!!
I'm all worn out from my first Halloween party... last kid left 7:30 & I scooted back to finish my Babbling!
tBear, me too. How was the Coach tonight? 'nite Deutsch
haven't been for a coupla weeks...time out
Goodnight Deutsch. Sleep well.
paul's now at the start of the 3rd in the set of horrow films he's been watcing.
That's it......Goodnight all....hasta manana..xx
horrow??? LOL. Mean 'horror'.
Goodnight tbear.
hey - can anyone help me with the le5/10? thanks! =)
'nite Bear 3rd film? That's taking Halloween a bit seriously for my liking...
le5/10 is a musical term, meaning 'in a slow tempo'.
thanks Jacula! =)
'bye tbear :)
Anj - it's no prob. to me, I'm happy Babbling tonight. We've spent lots of quality time together and are still together now, but in a diff. way. It's coupledom. It's lovely.
Blinkin' 'eck, Lola! Where did you pop up from? LOL.
lol, sorry jacs, did I scare you?
the mo's are driving me batty - will come back to them. could i have a clue on the le 6/18?
Coupledom - that's got a nice ring to it :)
S'okay Lola, my heartrate's slowed down again now. LOL.
Anj - 'coupledom' and 'nice ring' - Can you direct Paul to a good jeweller's? ROFLOL.
Is he taking his time doing the down on one knee thing then jacs?
*Christmas is a-coming and my finger is still bare. The ridge from the old wedding ring has been replaced by hair. I liked it when the ridge had gone; it meant so had the pain, but now the finger just looks bare - needs adorning once again! LOL. This published poet's crap off-the-cuff but heartfelt poem for tonight.
lol I could try, problem is my taste in jewellery is a little unconventional. I like Alchemy Gothic stuff for a start...
mama its a type of bean
jacs, lol! Have you shown him the poem...or the hairy finger??
Lola - not really his fault. He's a decade behind me in the divorce stakes. Anj - my tastes swing that way too, re adornments.
Not shown him the poem yet, no, cos I only just wrote it. Saved it to notepad on the desktop though, so he'll surely read it later.:-)
Mama - le6/18 - a pulse beloved by hippies, especially 'Neil' from 'The Young Ones'.
If it works be sure to let us know jacs :)
Thanks Ruby - found it a while back. now going nuts with the li's - need 3 of em the 2 5/10's and the 4/4
Jacula - love your poem!!!!! Hope it helps... I wrote a poem about dreams once - will post it some day.
I will, Lola.
li4/4 - what diet yoghurts claim to be. Opposite of dark or heavy.
Hey, I hadn't thought about xmas...we will have to have an xmas icon theme for a start :)
mama- for your li5/12's. They both have the same first four letters, li plus the english short word for thanks. Add a vowel for one word and a consonant for the other.
Mamabear, the 2 x li5/10s have the same 1st four letters
...wavelength babe ;)
ha 5/12 - clue please?
Yeah :) xxxx
had the opposite of heavy - damn if I didn't cross it off!!! and it's times like this I wish I were English - so I would know that thanks clue
Jac, I think I may have been a magpie in a previous life.I just prefer shiny things with glass beads to all this gold, silver, platinum stuff...
Im done!! time to watch TV!!!!!
mama- ever heard of rock chick li** ford? Use her name if you have :)
Temple....ha5/12 for holding as feeta for walking :)
Congrats Chris :)
P's Maw & Paw, off on a Hallowe'en Caravan Club wknd, rang us earlier re their quiz - one question was 'Waht is Elvira?' Oh LOL.
oh for heaven's sake! thanks anj...

next q was what number did Freddie Kruger live at? Anyone know that? We do! It was once shown briefly on a mailbox. Answers on a postcard in this log please.
You're welcome mama :) jacs- no idea!
Anj? Do you know the number?
Only one to go but I'm stuck. It's an ro 4x4, after 5/10, but have got the unit of weight, any offers please,
...wha?? Sorry, off nosing about on Amazon... No I don't...years since i saw that film
It's good to be back! I was on here this morning but didn't know many. It's good to see you all again!
Ex-wren - I gave a clue for that not long ago on the log... you turn meat on a ro**sserie.
hi smeltzdog...
Anj - 1427 is the answer. 'Dog' - welcome back.
Hi smeltz :)
Smeltzdog - cute icon!!!1 Welcome back!
thanks jacula, I thought I had tried every combination but obviously missed that one. I can go to bed now, it's 1.40am here!
That reminds me, are the clocks going back in the uk tonight?
thanks jacula, lola for li words...jos are a different story....
Well done and goodnight exwren :)
Which ones do you need temple?
nite xwren- well done!
Yes, our clocks go back in about 15 minutes. Oh! thats not so bad, it will be 1am!
Thanks exwren, extra hour in bed then :)
Indiana doesn't change time! It's probably the reason I live here.
Smeltz- SA doesn't either. It takes some getting used to!
smeltzdog - you don't change time? We do in Illinois.....
Later today, before any considerations about clocks, or the size of my pile of ironing, I need to feed the Christmas cakes with brandy.
hmmm i have the hard shake, and the singular and plural that come from the three lettter word that's too short - have no idea what they mean - i resorted to monkey typing...
Mamabear, are you still there?
mama - today I'm on your time, tomorrow I'm on Ohio time.
could someone help me with a clue for the sa 6/27 and sa 7/40. I would appreciate it.
that's jo 4/9, jo4/9, jo5/20...
Present!!!!
temple- jo5/28 add the opp of peace. Pluralise for the 6.
*crawling, gasping, to finish line* Thre more words (all 5 letter for some strange reason)...
oh mamabear- how 'bout those sox!
...you take good care of those cakes Jac :) Come on Jera, you can do it!
sheila rae - i know brandy jack posted it earlier, about 2 hours ago....
First time here... Can anyone tell me how many words there are to find?
thanks Owl
162 words
Was cruising the log for clues and saw your note about wanting to see polar bears in the wild. I've had several experiences and won't bore you with long stories. But for someone like me who is no adventurer, it is a mind adjustment to be in a situation where you are not at the top of the food chain. Grizzlies, not a big deal if you use good sense and communicate well. Foxes actually maybe more dangerous because of rabies. Polar bear, that's worlds beyond.
Anj - I will do! You take good car of yourself and Lola, eh? Words for grid - 162 today.
Well then, I guess i have quite a ways to go... Thanks for the info.
* meant good CARE.
yw sheila rae - if i could remember i'd tell you - it was a definition to google...
...Or, as one of our helicopter pilots murmured one day as we set down in the tundra between a young male polar bear hiding behind a sea bluff to stalk six musk oxen: "Here you go boy - humans in a can."
j_beth - There are 162 words but you might as well pay the 10 bucks now because you'll be addicted by morning. It's much less frustrating this way. Also, you can click on the Babbler's annon. link on the right and then click general to get the first two letters of each word for hints.
Griffums - I'd quite like to hear your long stories - but post them in Babblers Anon.
Yep. Sorry - no more bandwidth. I've got a puzzle to finish -
LOL Griffums! (Just read your last posting.)
Thanks S-dog. I'll likely do that when I get back from lunch break.
There's a ton of halloween chat in the log so if there's a clue for ha 6/21 I have missed it?
'Humans in a can', still chuckling.
Jac, I always do ;)
ha6/21 is same as ca6/21 bar the initial letter.
lola - tyvm for j words!
Always do what, Anj? Sorry, I've lost track!:-(
Why, so it is. Thanks Jac -
Okay, I scrolled back to find my clues and came across a discussion about amounts of snow in Canada. We just moved to Northern New York and are waiting to see our first "big" snow here. I am scared now. :)
hi sheila im in northeast ny
Hi Ruby- well, how bad does it get?? Be gentle.
...look after Lola :)
Whoo-hoo... done! *does victory lap on broomstick*
any clues for ca 6/21
it gets reallyyyy cold and hopefully snowy but often it is just plain icy
Yay Jera!
Okay, now I am really cold. I hate ice, and I am from Iowa.
congrats Jera
get out the coats and mittens and boots plus dont forget the shovel
Griffums - thanks for the polar bear gab.... humans in a can is too funny!!!! Would also love to hear your stories. I can't understand how animals so beautiful and "cuddly" looking could be mean and dangerous - but hey, you gotta eat!!!!! I need 6 more words.... gonna go try and find em now.
the guy we bought our house from sold us his snow blower, so we are set there.
Did you know polar bears are left handed? so am I!!!
i didnt know that smeltz
Well done jera :) Yes you do babe xxx :)
I have one left...te 5/10 (the first one) Any hints to put me out of my misery?
If no one requires my assistance, I shall head for bed... Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy is the bedtime movie tonight!
Anj - oh yes, I see now. And so you should. T'was nice to see a love story enfolding, just like me and my other half's did ont Net. Not that we told anyone much, but you get my drift. Legend goes that when you're not looking for love it will find you.... Nuff said?
its the plural of the te 4
some day, somewhere, a question will be asked about polar bears, and all of us left handed people will remember this bit of trivia tonight.
te 5 = te + a pork **** roast, minus the last consonant
Sheila - indeed we left-handers will! I have a tee-shirt that bears the legend, 'Only left-handed people are in their right minds'. LOL.
DOING THE HAPPY DANCE! (it looks like the one the guy does in the Babe the pig movie)
LOL Jacula
Evening all....
Hi Charm.... how are you tonite?
*dancing* yay dog!
Good evening, all. Haven't been around much the past week or two -- at least not on the log -- so thought I'd say hi. Just finishing up today's puzzle.
Hey, MamaBear. Just winding down from a really busy day. Attended one of the cancer survivors day events (hubby's work). Did some major, major, major shopping - and bought nothing! Made lamb curry for dinner. Now it's just me, the Monster Baby, a cup of coffee, and all my babblers....
Hi Charm and hi stanrge Cathy person who's wearing a bag on her head. Do you have a zit??? LOL. No offence intended.
Cathy, what big EYES you have!!!!
Hi, Jacula!
Well done, Dog.
evening, all. Am thinking i might be up to playing some of the game. Have missed you ALL..
polar bears are also one of the few mammals to have hair on the soles of their feet.
welcome back lianakate - how are you feeling? Good to "see" you!!!
You guys are cracking me up with the polar bear talk.
Kate - you haven't missed us all. I'm still here! Anj and Lola have also been popping up in a boo kind of Halowe'en way, too.
Mama..was able to stay OUT of bed for most of the day! Ty, for inquiring. :)
And did you know polar bears are really not white?????? Their hair is very thin clear "tubes" that appear to be white by reflecting lite.
hi lianakate! welcome back!
thanks, owl
Sheila Rae - probably my fault..... polar bear lover that I am....
Mamabear -- thought maybe these big eyes would help me find the words easier ... :)
Hi liana, how're you doing today?
Let me know if it helps and I'll go get me a bag!!!!
Well, we all are learning a lot here. My husband said he didn't knkow about the hair on the feet thing.
Hi cathy :)
My indoors cat (the black lots of Persian in her) one has hair on the soles of her feet - it's so long, it's embarrassing now. She nevers ventures further off carpeted floors than she has to! Forgive her! She had a hard life as a young stray and now sshe's middle-aged and enjoying having found a human 'mug' to take care of her every need and validate her kitten-belief that she's and Egyptian Goddess lost and now found.
Hi lola -- how've you been? Still throwing those jacuzzi parties?
I need 3 more - all mo's... 2 mo 5/12's in the middle (the bread in a mo 4/5 sandwich) and a mo 4/5 3 words down.
lola..am MUCH better :) am celebrating my 3 or 4th day out of hospital...not sure which. All was a blurr..I do know they sent me a bill for ambulance ride..868 bucks..Nine dollars for 3 damn baby aspirins..Highway robbery (pun intended)
Cathy, yup, but not tonight I'm afraid. One of our friends lost her baby this weekend so things are a little subdued.
I read that earlier this afternoon and was so sorry to hear about that. The message board you set up was a great idea, and I added a post a bit earlier. My thoughts and prayers are definitely with them, too.
3d mo4/5 - to slave (similar to a to4/4).
one MO word..rhymes with what you do with water..to cook an egg..
mo - The minimal unit of metrical time in quantitative verse, equal to the short syllable.
Liana- good to hear you are feeling better :) cathy- thanks for adding to it, hope it gives them some small comfort.
Mo5/12 - cooking show ***** Mario (Batali).
liana -- welcome home! Hospitals are no treat, that's for sure. Great to hear you're feeling better.
jac...lol. a quamtitive what????...am much to Blonde and Polish for difficult clues tonight..
another mo5 - bendy curlers that allowed spiral perms to be done - MO***n Browners.
thanks, cathy..et al
Got the mo 4/5 - now just need the 2 mo 5/12"s - have the ones clued - except for the cooking show one which I have never seen *heavy sigh*
Fellow babblers, I'm off to get some shut-eye now. See you all tomorrow :) Anj- sweet dreams babe, see you tomorrow (((xxx)))
NIght, Lola..sweet dreams
good nite lola - thanks for the help. sleep well....sweet dreeeeeemmmmmmmmmzzzzzzzzzzzzz z
'nite, lola. thanks for the clues...pleaseant dreams...
The cooking show clue is also a music term - means 'very'
Mo5/12 - add a vowel to the end of the Mo4/5 - a company which makes apple juice, sauce, etc.
the mo 5/12's - an mol, an mor, and an mot.
ummmmmmmmm...after looking at puzzle, am thinking I might not be up to it..lol, 108 words..thats it for me..
Don't give up, Kate! We'll help!
'nite babe :) sweet dreams (((xx))) Hi Liana - nice to see you hale & hearty again :) It's quittin' time i'm afraid...the battery low light is flashing and I need some decent kip so i'm outta here. G'night Jac et al - have fun :) Catch you tomorrow
Jacula - I have all 3 of those - there are 4 in the puzzle
Try another mor
Mo5/12 - not the eves, but the *****. dawns.
only have 2 of 3 mo6/21...the one that describes lava and the one that means spotted...what did i miss???
Mo6/12 - "Moving or having the power to move spontaneously." *sounds* like mo + little ceramic bathroom flooring.
mo + ti4/4
Done finally. Geez, that felt like it wouldn't ever stop. Back in 3.5 hours for another flaying.
thanx charm , jw...
Griffums. Good job. I need one more blasted mo 5/12 - seem to have all the clues given - someone said to try another mor so that's where I'm headed
time for zzzzz.
Mamabear - do you have early in the day (plural)? or are you looking for the other?
mor + vowel consonant
nite, jacula. pleseant dreams...stir up those cakes!
i love this phrase: "You have 0word(s) left to find " I missed a dang plural..... thanks to one and all. Will stay for a while to give clues if anyone needs it......
does anyone have a clue for ca 6/21
Good job!
ca 6/21 is plural of 5/12. It sounds like a type of horses pace, but with a different last vowel.
Ca6/21 - "The raised rear part of a saddle." *looks* like baseball player Mickey Ma****. Ca6/21 - "The person who leads a church choir or congregation in singing."
going to go do my nails..... have a good nite everyone! Sleep well...... hey, was thinking - does the new puzzle get posted an hour early with the time change???????
bye mamabear...
Good Question. Does this site start at midnight in every time zone or is it based somewhere?
dog - it's based on central time...
We are in New York, and my daughter said the puzzle changes at 1 AM our time.
So when does it get started in Europe?
Well, technically the time doesn't change until 2am - so I guess it will be business as usual!
missing the CH 6/21 please help.
there isn't a ch 6/21 do you mean ch 6/27?
There's a CH6/27 - relating to that silvery colored metal used abundantly on car trim.
yes I do sorry
do you have the ch 8/55? same word but drop the last 3 consonants and add a vowel
THanks Mamabear and Charm. Got it.
yes I had all the Cs but the last word
yvw minski!
make that all the Cs but the last CH word
there's tumbleweed a rollin in babbleonia tonite!!!! so quiet.....
I couldn't find the earlier clues to the sa 6/27 and sa 7/40. Those are the only two words I have left. Can anyone help me please...!!!
Sheila Rae - sa 6 = sa + f + ro 4/4
and the sa 7 is the plural... forgot to say that
just concentrating mama - and monkey typing like a fiend
hey Poo's Mom!!!!! keep at it....
THANK YOU MAMABEAR!!!!! Just finished. Huge sigh of relief at finishing this puzzle. A 42 word puzzle would be nice for tomorrow.
I agree!!!!!! Congrats, Sheila Rae - nice work!!!
Thanks. Now I have to give up the computer for my daughter so she can stay ahead of me in the ranking. :) Night all.
g'nite sheila Rae - sleep well....sweeet dreeeeemmmmzzz

Hye / bye mamabear!
Hi MAMA, and good night. Greetings all
how many words?
Morning All.
Did something happen to the site? When I logged off last night I had found about 30 words, and now they're all gone. My list is empty.
GW - try scrolling all the way down - sometimes if the log is really full the words show at the bottom - odd I know but it has happened to me.
162
grey w turn off the chat log and then refresh your page..
Thank you Blaze, that did it
hi torgone, greywoulf, dianne, blaze...
Hi Owl
Heya 72! Not gonna kill this one ..
down to 4 but darned if i know which - am counting down for the last time. being pro is a great help, timesaver!
I only have 89 left .. Yay me!
I only have 45, but I have faith
I'm done, anyone need clues?
Eventually, right now I'm focusing
Hi this is my first time here. I have no clue what to do. I've been inserting words, so what next?
Mary - that is the main focus, try to get as many of the 162 words that you can
how did you know there were 162 words? do you keep a running tab?
mary - welcome to Babble. It helps to read the rules at the top and also if you scroll through all the chat log you will see many helpful clues. Have fun!
thnx jax and dianne. I read the rules, guess I better do it again...
Mary - usually someone posts them earlier in the game. They also post how many A works, C words etc. so you have an idea what you are looking for. If you want, look to the side of your window and under "Friends of Babble" click on Babbler's anon. then Click on General, then click on stats. It will give you all the stats for this game. It even breaks them down by 2 letters and how many letters in the word. Example. an 4 4 is a word that starts with an, is 4 letters and worth 4 points
Diane- i don't recognize your flag. Where are you from?
Jax - I live in Hong Kong.
Wow Diane. That is cool. It is so nice to have people from all over here.
thank you again.
Jax - Where do you live?
jax - when you click on the person next to the name you can see where anyone is from
US - Michigan
Didn't know that. Thanks Smeltz
I finished a couple hours ago, just stopped back to help
US Michigan here too
really mary, where? I'm near Ann Arbor. Just finished watching the football game.
Ohio State won again!
West Branch

Hey GW!!!! Thought you were a no show today!!! Smeltzdog - I logged off about an hour ago, but figure I get that hour back with the time change and my house is boring, so here I am - thought maybe I'd see if anybody joined in and if I could help....
say torgone - did you happen to read the log back to early afternoon?
MAMA - no I just got a late start -- I got a few in this AM before sleeping, but my daughter was still up when I got home from work at 9:30. Had to read her her stories and sing her songs befiore joining in.
Torgone?????? You are here too?????
GW - what a good Dad!!!!!! *tear trickles down mamabear's cheek*
Need help. Missing: RA 5/10 RA 6/18 RO 4/4 - either the last one or the 2nd to last one Thanks.
I had an RD in college named Papabear...any relation?
ra 5/10 - a mathematical term as in 1/2
I try...
ra 6/18 - ra + the opposite of loose
minski - the last 2 ro4 have only one letter difference
I only had a few minutes on earlier .. Evidently there was some sadness in the Babble community .. I didn't see enough to comment ..
Ro 4/4 - bread and unit of weight.
for the RO 4/4 I have the unit of weight who knew that was a word?
ro 4/4 - ro + what a man wears around his neck when he's all dressed up! and the other ro 4 is the same with a different consonant on the end
Thanks Mamabear. Done with the Rs.
yes Torgone, much sadness.... do you know the story now?
Hi again. How about some assistance with the ST 7/28 ST 8/40 Thanks
I didn't dig back through the log .. I really don't know anything ..
a fellow babbler - sandr - lost her baby - there is a condolence message thread in the general log in babanon for people to leave messages for her and her husband Richard..
Awww, that must be really hard for them... :(
No Smeltzdog - can't recall a papabear that you'd be referring to!!!!!!
this grid seems evil to me
sorry minski - missed your st post - do you have the st 5? if you do, then just add to it for the other two st's
I would like to feel a wee bit important. So does anyone need me to help? Please?
mamabear - i cannot post on the babbleboard. i am not registered. what password do i use?
hi yoink. just starting?
I don't know if you need one - I just joined the pro ranks yesterday - and when I posted my message it showed me as "unregistered"... try and reply to the string and see what happens.
Smeltzdog - it's hard to take someone seriously who dresses in a hot dog bun.... but you ARE important!!!!
is there really an st7 and st8? clues?
Thanks again Mamabear. On to the Ts.
No, I got some done this morning but have 77 to go and can't see me finishing with this level of inebriation
The ezboard is a separate entity .. You have to sign up for it ..
jfarrance - yes - do you have the st 5? work off that word and add to it
mamabear - it keeps telling me i'm missing something (no comments please!), go back and fill it in, then wipes out everything without telling me what it is...
oh, that was easy, thanks!
torgone - I didn't sign up for an ezboard - but I was able to add a message in there....
Any clues for the en? Thanks....:)
ty torgone - i did post prior without any trouble.
Temple Owl - perhaps Torgone can be of more assistance - he is much more experienced in the ways of babble than I
en + to work
Mama - do you have to be so harsh? I have a fragile ego. One not nice thing = two good things. Wait...why must I listen to a big white bear. I am somebody!
Thanks mamabear...I just wasn't seeing it.
I can't see anything, should've had the willpower to skip this one this morning. night all
*mamabear gives smeltzdog great big apologetic bear hug* ...... but you ARE wearing a bun.....
night yoink.
g'nite Yoink - things will be clearer in the mornin!!! sleep well
mama - didn't want to divulge this but my wifey picked it out. She said it was my Halloween costume.
Mama - SHE MADE ME SAY IT!
smeltzdog - there is something in there about your wifey liking wieners... but I will refrain
well, time to get some ZZZZZZZZZZZZZs. goodnight all - pleasant dreams......
Okay, I have been stuck on the A7/44 all day and all night...any more clues besides peaceful?
g'nite Temple - sleep welll
G'nite Owl
Mama - This is the Mrs. I apologize for my husband's ridiculous behavior this evening. He had too much coffee at the wedding we attended tonight. He's a little wound up.
Mrs. Smeltzdog - nothing to apologize for - all in good fun - I think his icon is cute, actually...... if you care to scroll back through the chat log, I described several costumes I have made .... I am in the same ballpark
JW - the a 7/44 - against fighting between countries
hint for the EN word please.
en = en + to work
i;ve got 74, is there really 162 total?
Thanks Mamabear. Got it.
yep - 162!!!! I had to resort to a2z today quite a bit though I must admit *mamabear hangs head in shame*
Thanks for trying Mama, still can't get it, but will keep monkey typing....
Now just missing 4 T words then I'm done. Need the: TE 5/10 - the first one I think TI 6/18 TO 5/10 - the first one I think TO 6/21 Thanks muchly.

the first to 5/10 is the to** (to work) plus a vowel at the end
I'm sorry Mamabear to be so demanding but it's after midnight in boston and I'm tired and want to finish this so I can go to bed. Was this hint "to 6 - to 5 (to work) with a vowel added at the end" for the to5 or the to6? I need the to5 pelase.
smeltzdog - you kiddin me???? I'll squeeze the mustard right off your bun!!!!

arms are shorter than my legs...can't cover my sneezes.
Smeltz, what's that coming out of your back? Is that blood?
here, let me get that for you *mamabear reaches over and gently wipes smeltzdog's nose with a nice soft tissue*
why...what have I done to deserve this juxtapose of attitude? *again I blubber with sorrow*
I hereby promise to refrain from further hot dog jokes... whether they be bun, wienie or mustard related. I so hate to see a grown hot dog blubber.
a cape...it's a stinking cape!
Alright children behave or you will sent to your rooms with no Babble.....LOL
mom (Blaze) they started it. I am innocent.
Blaze - a rather cruel punishment - withhold my water, withhold my food, even consider bamboo shoots under my fingernails..... but do not take away my rite to Babble!!!!
That's better... now hugs and babble for all of you.
I dont think Im gonna make it this time -- I have 25 to go and I dont know all the ones I am missing
GW - let's start at the top - there are 13 a's - got em?
missing an5/10
the last one
there are 2 of em - the first one is a plural of the 2nd an 4/4 - got that one?
GW - here's a hint. I copy the list from Babbler anon. and paste it in Word. If you give the page 5 columns you will have them all on one page. When you get a word, change the color to red. It helps you keep track.
grey do you have the one that ends in ra
ooops - didn't see that post - ok then - it is an + a means of transportation that runs on rails minus the in
Thx, nest is ca 6/21 and ch8/55 & 6/27

Smeltzdog..... hahahahahahahaha - I just realized you have a SUPERMAN costume on under that bun!!!! LOL That just opens up a WHOLE new line of humor..... but I promised to refrain.... but I have also been known to lie on occasion

I am feeling a bit better, 12 to go sc 6/21, both jo5's and jo6
GW - jo plus conflict and then plural for the jo6.
on the j;s one is think quota except no qu tile here! the other is jo + 2 countries fighting in a *** and the jo 6 is the plural

I know, but not early enough to help me here to 6/21, 5/10, 4/4 + a ta4/4, te 5/10 & 4/4 i think I only need 5 more
So what do you wear to compliment your Mr's attire?
mab - if you are alone and depressed you are forl***
I so have to go pro to get the stat board
what, in all seriousness, can "compliment" a hotdog in a supersuit?
GW te 5/10 are what you sleep in when camping.
to 6/21 - a man's name + a boob
to 5/10 - add an e to your 4/4
got the ta
oops - the to 4/4 - to work
I have that one too.. Thank you. I think there is one more. Also missing li5; not the bright, or the literary ones.
sa6? sa7?
te 5/10 - te + a pork **** roast - minus the n
the to 4 I'm missing comes right after the t/6 and before the neck jewelry
there's many te 4/4's which one gw?
How do people move up in the rankings so fast. My dad (gotebrrabe) just started a few days ago and he isn't far behind me.
Grey, are you missing the Jewish scripture and its pl?
smeltz - there are 3 min left - pick someone to help with clues!!!
just the last of the te4's to go (3rd One)
pbr sa6-7 the principal component of sassafras oil
GW - same as the word directly above it, take out the n (what you sleep in at campouts is the one I mean)
