Schroeder -- I feel your pain, I missed my 5th straight by ONE 4 pt word

12:11 am

Hi Blaze, I think I was missing 10. Not too bad. I am SO addicted to this game. I think we are all addicted once we start...

12:12 am

JW you got that right.... you did very well..... it is really like one great puzzle as they go one after the other.

12:13 am

Hey, why aren't 'Wicca' or 'Wicce' considered words?

12:13 am

Kind of fun to stay to see the new one pop up.

12:13 am

JW - this game is worse than drugs because its free

12:15 am

GW that is painful, it always is the small words that get yah.

12:15 am

And the high lasts longer

12:16 am

I already have a wh 7/48 --- so excited!!!!!

12:16 am

Well, the high lasts until the next one starts and you see that it's 306 words!!!

12:17 am

Me too.... a toast to debs for pointing the way....

12:17 am

I feel yah grey; I missed by two words, nine points today. I really didn't want to ask for clues and then broke down at the last moment. Ah, well..it's only a game.

12:17 am

Go Mamabear Go!!! *Poms in hand*

12:18 am

Wow, think they gave us such a large puzzle because we get that extra hour tonight?????

12:18 am

12:21 am

Hey everybody. Man, this is when I wish I was a fast puzzler. I need time to contemplate!

12:22 am

Yeah, but look at all the lifeguards you've got around you. They definitely came through for me on last grid!

12:22 am

And don't forget, there's an extra hour tonight!

12:26 am

Got to love it, Blaze is giving clues already!

12:26 am

Go Mamabear Go!! *Does cartwheel lands in splits*

12:27 am

That's right GW - 2 weeks ago I never thought I would ever finish one. It's like learning another language.

12:28 am

Then I have done my duty as pathfinder in helping another lost soul find her way

12:30 am

GW - and for that.... I thank thee

12:31 am

Babbleboard used the smeltzdog nickname...at least according to mama

12:31 am

thanks blaze

12:31 am

Don't you like the looks of 24+ hours to finish puzzle?

12:32 am

yes, especially for this one!!

12:32 am

Smeltz just your what you are made of.....LOL no pun intended

12:32 am

A9/60

12:32 am

12:33 am

Ice boy! I knew you'd come through!!

12:33 am

Smeltzdog - LOL ....

12:33 am

whew. A8/40 hope this wasn't already posted.

12:33 am

Mab, if we find them now, we won't have to ask for clues at midnight tomorrow. Good idea to find them now.

12:34 am

thanks mab.. found another... looks like its c9/60 x2

12:36 am

I know Jw. I think it's splendid that some people have a good eye for the long words, as I decidedly do not.

12:36 am

I think its getting too late for me to find these long ones........ GW - how you doin?

12:38 am

I've got a bunch of 6's & 7's no 8's or 9's yet But I will plug on for a while yet. Thankfully, nothing on the books for tomorrow except pamily time and maybe seeing 'Legend of Zorr'

12:39 am

Zorro -that is. Someone stole my o and I want it back!

12:39 am

Well, I need to be at church at 7:25am - singing with choir..... I guess that means a responsible mamabear would be going to bed .....

12:40 am

Nite Mamabear, I'll be around tomorrow to cheer to you to your next completion.

12:40 am

'Night mamabear -

12:41 am

Night Mamabear...Sleep tight. Sweet dreams.

12:41 am

NItey nite Mama Bear sweet dreams....

12:41 am

A responsible mamabear, yes. But are feeling responsible tonight? (after all, Halloween is only a day and a half away!)

12:41 am

Thank you MamaBear for valiantly helping at the last moments. Sleep well and rest those vocal chords.

12:41 am

I said a responsible mamabear SHOULD be going to bed.... didn't mean I WAS.... just a few more words....

12:42 am

Seriously, have a good rest, MAMA. I'll look for you tomorrow. Sleep well, Sleep tight.

12:42 am

Define a few!

12:42 am

Okay, stay awhile, and you can sleep after church, after you finish babbling again.

12:42 am

How sweet.... while I was typing that last message, everyone was saying goodnite to me!!!!! Oh yee of little faith.... I'm not goin anywhere yet!!!!

12:43 am

C9/66

12:43 am

Or doze between hymnns.

12:44 am

Define a few..... says GW....... hard to do.... would really like to find these 9ers that everyone is getting..

12:45 am

If you can hum while you snore, it could just work out.

12:45 am

Yea, but there's 5 total on the board

12:45 am

HOORAY! I found a c9/60!! only another 4 to go (gah. maybe time for sleep)

12:45 am

Careful Mama. This game is dangerous and you don't want to end up in the gutter mumbling 'hey, buddy, can you spare a di4/4?

12:45 am

c9/60 c-section

12:46 am

mab - sorry - didn't see your post - you are most welcome - half the fun of this game is helping and giving clues I think. Have to get a jump on tomorrow - have to finish my halloween costume!!!!

12:47 am

Lovin' ya, brandyjack.

12:47 am

What are going to be for Halloween, MAMA?

12:48 am

OK, someone keeps stealing letterd from my fingers before I type... fess up now and I won't press charges

12:48 am

r6/21 and r9/60, offensive terms for less than gifted.

12:50 am

Brandyjack, how many vowels are in your c-section? I found the 8, but not the 9.

12:50 am

But can also mean to thwart or minimize, such as a fire, Jack.

12:50 am

me too! i found the 8. can't find the 9.

12:51 am

75 down!

12:52 am

jw thanks for the 8. need one more vowel for the 9.

12:52 am

the 9 starts out the with the c6/21

12:52 am

So nice we can work together.

12:52 am

GW - I took the life of a small portable desk fan, removed the blades, will mount them on cardboard, put straps on it to hang in front of me, placing decals on the blades of my beloved White Sox team - will wear Sox shirt, cap and will be a TRUE SOX "FAN"

12:55 am

Thanks for clarifying Brandyjack.

12:55 am

You will be a living pun -- this means that rather than running from you they can try to chase you away instead. After all, "the best tribute a pun can receive is to have the listener run from the room while holding their nose" - Spider Robinson, (from one of the Callahan's Crosstime Saloon books)

12:56 am

ahah! i found it the c9/60! =)

12:56 am

GW - I think you need a nap!!!

12:56 am

got the c9/60 as well!

12:56 am

Good job renee

12:57 am

now 2 more 9 letter words to go.

12:57 am

MAMA - probably, but I am stubborn about doing what others think I should

12:58 am

GW - You missed my recount this afternoon of previous costumes I have made - like the year I was dressed in a blue sweatsuit, blue gloves, had a blue loop pinned to the top of my head and was holding a saucepan...

12:58 am

now i'm scared...

12:59 am

GW- I didn't say you SHOULD... how many 9s you got?

12:59 am

or maybe just scarred

12:59 am

GW - give up?

1:00 am

Renee, what is the other 9 that you have already?

1:00 am

just the one 9, I'm gong for quantity right now bec if I don't i'll leave out some of the suffix build ons

1:00 am

can you give out some clues for the c9's?

1:01 am

ooopsies! typo there. i have only 2. the c9/60 and the r9/60

1:01 am

Yes, MAMA, my brain is not able to make the connection though it is tickling at the back of my head

1:01 am

Iceman?

1:01 am

I have all the nines yes er eee....

1:02 am

GW - I was a potholder!!!!

1:02 am

That's fabulous Blaze! yey!! (have 1)

1:02 am

Blaze, is there something you would like to say?

1:02 am

Blaze, I am fascinated by your mind! Come closer so I may...scoop it out with a spoon.

1:03 am

Wow Blaze!

1:03 am

Blaze - YOU ROCK!!!!! I only have 1 thanks to BrandyJack

1:03 am

MAMA - please note that while I am groaning on the outside, in the inside I am groaning and thinking that I do like your style, lady!

1:04 am

Mama, Brandyjack gave a clue for the r9 also.

1:04 am

Go blaze Go! Go Blaze Go! *tries to get a wave going*

1:05 am

Hi Honey. There are c 8 and c 9, same word for a type of birthing procedure, slightly different spellings.

1:05 am

*continues wave*

1:06 am

JW - AWESOME _ I missed it - now I have 2 of the coveted 9ers!!!! thank you *bear hug for JW*

1:06 am

*puts down mind-digging spork and continues wave*

1:06 am

a 9 to discover

1:07 am

I got the r9 too

1:07 am

*mamabear joins wave too excitedly, fell off chair.... hold on.... ok.... back up now..... wave continues*

1:07 am

*continues wave*

1:07 am

GW _ I'll race ya to the A9???? You up for it?

1:07 am

thanks mab.

1:07 am

you're on!

1:08 am

GW - GO (we'll get back to the costume theme later - got another one for ya)

1:10 am

Mamabear, don't squeeze so tight! I can't breathe.

1:10 am

Okay, it took forever but I finally stumbled on the two minor epithets I'll be using all night...

1:11 am

YES! i found the a9!

1:11 am

8’s A8/50 A8/40 C8/50 C8/45 C8/50 D8/45 E8/50 R8/45 T8/45 T8/40

1:11 am

OH sorry JW - got carried away....

1:11 am

Oh I found it too!

1:13 am

yay griffums!

1:14 am

I found nachos and cheese to eat.... NOT a clue

1:16 am

I stuffed myself with halibut tacos today so that doesn't even sound good right now. But they were wonderful. I miss them.

1:17 am

I'm getting hungry.

1:17 am

Griff I have never heard of halibut tacos....

1:18 am

this one is killing me.

1:18 am

Mmm halibut. Yummy fish.

1:18 am

Are you all sure there is an a9 word??????

1:18 am

My computer is making weird noises and I'm home alone. I'm scared.

1:18 am

A hotdog would be good.

1:18 am

hi, nena!

1:18 am

They're faboo. Battered halibut (ow!) in a couple of white corn tortillas with shredded red cabbage, cilantro, avocado, tomato, pico de gallo and probably some other things that end with O.

1:19 am

uh-oh - better hide smeltzdog

1:19 am

Hi GreyWoulf :) Tough one today, isn't it?

1:20 am

nena are you okay now... maybe your computer is just doing it's duty....

1:20 am

nenalui - do not be afraid... it is just all of us typing frantically

1:20 am

Think of another word for are you "sure"? Start with as and add the word that means we are "sure" there is an a9.

1:20 am

queso? cheese? for your tacos! :)

1:20 am

nena, you got that right! Right now, MAMABEAR and I are in a race for the a9

1:21 am

No, no cheese on these. But might be good!

1:21 am

im okay, im just scared. Eeriness in the air, so close to Halloween.

1:21 am

oh dear, i'm starting to get hungry now... and i've just had lunch!

1:22 am

Yes! I got A 9/60 :) thank you for the wonderful clue, JW!

1:22 am

GW - still looking? I think I'm trying too hard - just isn't there for me..... or maybe it's the thrill of the RACE

1:23 am

I am ce***** (7/32) that Bush won't win the next elections. Add as to the front and you have a 9/60

1:23 am

I know that there's a particular dictionary on this engine but it still surprises me every time I type NARE and it doesn't take it, considering the other body parts that *are* acceptable. In fact I think I'll try it again before I hit 'post message.' Nope, still didn't work.

1:24 am

MAMA - it's not a fair race if I stop looking and don't tell you

1:24 am

thanks nena for the clue, got it now

1:25 am

GW - ok well i never raced with you before... just making sure.

1:26 am

I'm thirsty. Bad Luli is off to get some coca-cola. I need the caffeine for the puzzle.

1:26 am

I GOT IT, I GOT IT, I GOT IT, I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!

1:26 am

Ty nena that clue worked for me

1:26 am

griff it only accepts that word in a plural sense this is an enable word list posted many weeks ago http://www.photosphere.us/ gj_babble_db.txt

1:26 am

You're all welcome :) *beams*. It's lovely to help so many people :)

1:26 am

Griffums - nare is only acceptable in the plural form :)

1:27 am

so MAMA, which one do you want to race for now

1:27 am

CRAP!!!! I just saw your "I got it" post GW..... *sobbing hysterically* and it came before mine..... oh woe is me

1:27 am

I needed the plural fish to figure that out, Atalante. What a dope I am.

1:28 am

I was just getting ready to do my celebration dance for you mamab *rewrites dance for GW*

1:28 am

There, there, MAMA, there is always the next time *offers hankie, lifesaver and a hug*

1:28 am

oh! oh! I found the fish in the puzzle!

1:29 am

*smug yet ashamed* I got it before you :oP

1:29 am

what fish? I don't have a fish!

1:30 am

I can't get sardine :oP

1:30 am

there's a fish?

1:30 am

You and everybody else! ;D

1:30 am

I bet you do have a fish but you just don't realize it.

1:30 am

I take pride in small victories :)

1:32 am

As well you should, nena. After all, big victories are nothing but a bunch of small victories in one big pile.

1:33 am

Yay :) finally someone who shares my philosophy :oP

1:33 am

GW - well there are 2 more 9's - another ca 9/60 and a co 9/66 or we could look for this fish they are talking about...... choose your poison.

1:33 am

Wow, GW, that's deep!

1:35 am

Griffums - what's this about a fish? Are you sure it's in the puzzle or just in your taco?

1:36 am

did you forget to use a napkin again Griffums

1:36 am

The word for one who aims small pointy projectiles is also a fish.

1:36 am

MAMA - it depends, how many words you got? I'm at 82 Griffums - I never looked at it that way --- I was just thinking of what my father always used to say "Don't sweat the little stuff. And always remember taht it's ALL little stuff." same idea, really

1:37 am

ahah!! i see where the fish came from now! :)

1:37 am

High five to Griff thankyou for the fish

1:37 am

Schroeder, I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU KNEW THAT

1:37 am

got the fish already then, you were right Griff, i just didn't realize it

1:38 am

wasn't that supposed to be...and thanks for all the fish? ;)

1:38 am

GW - well said..... OR.... in other words... don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff!!!!! And I only have 69 words....... as I worship your babbleskills from afar

1:39 am

woot! am up to 105 words! just over a third of the way!

1:40 am

way to go renee!!!! I don't seem to be catching the fish over here... what am I missing?

1:40 am

MAMA - as I said before, it all boils down to getting all the suffixes as soon as you start a root word, It's the same strategy that used to frustrate my oppenents in Boggle(tm) when I was younger

1:41 am

Mama, there's a hole in my net too...I am not catching the fish.

1:42 am

No roomies tonight! Party! Babble Party! :)

1:42 am

GW - I have been doing that - must just not be pulling up as many roots as you are.

1:43 am

hmmm. can't find the last ca9/60

1:44 am

You'll get better Mama. I've been playing for a few weeks only (and not always finishing the puzzles), but I already see myself getting better. It's practice, like everything else in life.

1:45 am

nena add to ca 6/21

1:45 am

It's practice, nena, and not being ashamed to ask for help when you just can't see it. That's what help me on th elast puzzle. And, boy, was I smacking myself over some of the ones people helped me with

1:47 am

Blaze, I don't know what you mean.

1:47 am

Blaze, I have 3 ca6/21s. Which one?

1:47 am

Oh, heck yes. Help. Some words are impossible to find by yourself.

1:47 am

the one that ends in "in"

1:48 am

I just got it!!!!!

1:48 am

Hmm...that's one I don't have...I will keep looking.

1:49 am

Now I have it...thanks.

1:49 am

GW - getting back to costumes - will tell you this one, try to catch the fish and will then go to bed.... One year, I made a long tan loose dress, glued seashells and sand to the front, wore a large black hat with netting on it with seashells placed on it, long black wig, black fingernails.... I was a??????

1:49 am

when you say add to ca 6/21, what word am i looking for? :)

1:50 am

GW - You just got WHAT?

1:50 am

nena look at 1:47 post

1:50 am

MAMA - sea witch. Do you have any pix?

1:50 am

i got the 2nd ca9

1:51 am

Nope guess again. I have pictures but I'd have to find them

1:51 am

YOU DID????? *sobbing uncontrollably due to lack of fish and second ca9*

1:51 am

yay! found all the nines!!

1:52 am

MAMA - *smacking my forehead in self reproach* a SANDWITCH !!!

1:53 am

DING DING DING DING DING!!!!!! Very good!!!!!

1:53 am

So ca 6/21, if you keep adding letters to it, will become ca 9/60?

1:54 am

I've got to be a re6. The only 9 I have is re9. How do I get them easier

1:54 am

yes.... now don't make me eat my words

1:54 am

MAMA - the fish twists around on itself at the bottom of the pool

1:55 am

PS- don't forget the plural

1:55 am

usually the bigger words are from extensions of smaller words so I usually concentrate on the smaller ones and then go hunting... and keep tuned into clues

1:55 am

Okay sorry. My brain is not working properly today. I finally got it :) thank you for your patience.

1:55 am

do i get the first 2 letters please?

1:56 am

da

1:57 am

I'm missing Co 9/66 now. Clues please?

1:57 am

Mama, I still am looking for the lost fish too....not a clue.

1:57 am

how many letters?

1:58 am

its a da6/21

1:58 am

Jw first you need the d 4/4 the thing that people throw at a target --- very popular in english pubs....

1:58 am

JW - it's da 6/21 and often it's referred to as a "snail da----" because that's what it eats.

1:58 am

Okay I had the fish the whole time and didn't know it!!!

1:59 am

Well, it's not like fish make a lot of noise.

1:00 am

ROFL

1:00 am

It was VERY quiet...I didn't even see it until just now.

1:00 am

Haha :) finally got that slippery fish!

1:01 am

Okay Griffums then that's my story it sneeked in and was hiding quietly the whole time...

1:01 am

Or you are not so good at the fish husbandry and what you have here is a dead fish. A fish that has most definitely expired.

1:02 am

this is a very twisty turny grid.....

1:02 am

you mean to say, an EX-Fish?

1:04 am

I think it was so quiet it probably could have hit me like a bullseye

1:04 am

Please pass the tartar sauce... I finally found my fish.

1:04 am

:D E's bleedin' demised!

1:04 am

Would you like some lemon as well?

1:04 am

...don't you mean a walleye? Okay back to grid.

1:05 am

how many letters does this fish have?

1:05 am

Fish is swimming happily now. Help for Co 8/55?

1:05 am

Oh yes, lemon would be lovely

1:05 am

Nena lots of clues in chat log for that one

1:06 am

this fish is way too hard for me to find, LOL

1:06 am

er wait...there's a co 8/55????

1:07 am

can someone tell me how many letters for the da fish?

1:07 am

yup there is. the singular form of co9/66.

1:07 am

griff only co 8 / 55 no 50

1:07 am

Would love to get the second ca9 now that i caught the fish.... but too tired to do it without good clue....

1:07 am

got to get some sleep. Church is only 5 hours away. See y'all again tomorrow. good luck

1:07 am

Maybe we should eat the fish on our special dishes from that Asian country.

1:07 am

stillcrazy, heck if I know~

1:07 am

The fish is 6 letters and is the same as the person pushing the pointy pub projectile.

1:08 am

That's a long drive, Smeltzdog. Seeya...

1:08 am

ty griffum

1:08 am

there IS a co8/50. means cook in spanish.

1:08 am

I had NO clue that was a fish! I've had it all along, LOL

1:09 am

Good one Griffums!!!!

1:09 am

I have got it now

1:09 am

Griff hit me with the haddoce I got that mixed up ther is a co 8/50 only....

1:09 am

not funny

1:09 am

ty Griffums....I love a person who makes sense

1:09 am

Hoody Hoo! got the co9 (high school spanish comes thru again!)

1:10 am

But how do you feel about MEEEEEE?

1:10 am

Thank you renee

1:10 am

of course I took french!

1:10 am

I am ecuadorian! I speak spanish all along :) Shoulda seen it earlier, shame on me.

1:10 am

GW - if you help me get the ca 9 and co 9, I'll let you tuck me in!!!!!

1:11 am

ROFL

1:11 am

I know what it is and how it sounds but I'm not getting the letters in the right order. Uhura, enable the universal translator!

1:11 am

you're welcome nenaluli!

1:12 am

MAMA - for the ca think milk protein

1:12 am

Geez. I find the 9 letter words easily, but I have trouble with As 4/5. I finally found it now.

1:13 am

haha. iknow what you mean nenaluli.

1:14 am

That's the problem with focussing on a particular thing or style, once you are in the groove for it, everything else becomes a blur

1:15 am

So now I'm not valid in TWO languages. Boo hooooo.

1:15 am

I am off until tomorrow... see you then

1:16 am

night Blaze - thanks for the help

1:16 am

nite blaze

1:16 am

It's OK Griffums, we all still love and respect you *hug*

1:17 am

I got the co 9 by typing "spanish word for cook" in Google

1:17 am

Me and my little pile of small accomplishments! ;D

1:17 am

Take care, Blaze

1:17 am

bye blaze!

1:17 am

Wow - that is SO not what I was typing. Thanks!

1:17 am

me either so don't feel bad

1:18 am

any progress, MAMA?

1:20 am

nope

1:21 am

I keep seeing sectarians and nectarines

1:21 am

Just what are you drinking?

1:22 am

i keep seeing princes

1:22 am

I got a big cup of Folger's Finest right here Mrs. Olson!

1:24 am

Good morning, everyone... bright eyed, bushy tailed & back for more, I see!

1:24 am

oooooooo but I just found the poison in the puzzle!

1:24 am

MAMA - for the ca, think milk protein take ca6/21 that ends in "in" and then add the past tense of eat

1:25 am

Hi Jera

1:25 am

OK I have the co 8 & co 9 plural.... but not the ca 9 milk proten - even went to the fridge to check out the bottle!!!!!

1:25 am

good morning Jera

1:26 am

Hi Jera!

1:27 am

hello Jera!

1:29 am

try this MAMA take the ca + se5/10 - the last e +past tense of eat

1:29 am

mama, ca4/5 + in, is your root word= ca6/21, then add suffix for ca9/60

1:29 am

root of problem was I didn't have the 6/21 - now I have them both. And sad to say I never heard of either one.... with that I think I will bid you all adieu (?) thank you all for the fun & laughs!!! Enjoyed it immensely!!! Sleep well all and sweeeetttt dreeeeeemmmmmmzzzzz *Bear Hugs to Babblers everywhere - and a special long one for GW!! * *wink*

1:30 am

Goodnight Mamabear. Happy dreams!

1:30 am

Good night mamabear!

1:30 am

Sweet dreams Mamabear

1:31 am

goodnight mama sleep well

1:31 am

Good night MAMA *hug and short neck rub back* Sleep well, Sleep tight Hope to catch you later!

1:31 am

Well. I got all the 4 letter words. Again, a small victory, but I should at least have the roots for most of the other words.

1:32 am

what's your count, nena?

1:32 am

175 so far.

1:33 am

Great work, I'm only at 117

1:33 am

if it makes anyone feel better, I only have 61!!

1:34 am

Yeah, but I've been here since the grid turned!

1:34 am

There's nothing wrong with that!

1:34 am

*sigh* Still 131 words to go.

1:34 am

me too!! lol

1:34 am

I'm sitting at 59

1:35 am

I need a speed monkey

1:35 am

I keep wanting to put another 'S' on the board I have tried to make 'access' about four times already

1:36 am

any clues for the ac6/24?

1:36 am

speed monkeys are overrated.... when they aren't jonesing for their next fix, they're flinging feces Or even worse, both!

1:37 am

This is your monkey This is your monkey on drugs

1:39 am

And my sectarians have eaten the nectarines and now they are playing ocarinas. God, I'm afraid to go to sleep later.

1:40 am

I would be too, just don't read any Alice in Wonderland before you go to sleep and you should be safe

1:43 am

Gods, I just love it when you type in a random bunch of letters that doesn't look like anything and it turns out to be valid!

1:43 am

LOL! What a wonderful conversation to wake up to, on this sunny firstofthewintertime Sunday morning!

1:43 am

Woo hoo!

1:43 am

I hear you, GW.

1:44 am

Morning Sprite!

1:45 am

Helllllllloooooo Sprite!

1:45 am

Morning GreyWoulf and morning all... or night, whatever applies to you.

1:47 am

how many words today please?

1:47 am

306 today Sprite, you up for it?

1:47 am

A nice even 306 only.

1:48 am

Hi Sprite :)

1:48 am

Good night all- thanks for the clues -- it's 1:00 am here and I can't keep my eyes open any longer.

1:49 am

It is Sunday, my laundry is spinning in the machine, my kids are playing and watching tv, my love is still in deep sleep... I am ready to find as many words I can in this relatively undisturbed period of time :)

1:49 am

bye cybernan

1:49 am

Nite cyberman...

1:49 am

Hi there nenaluli! Good to see you again.

1:49 am

Sleep well cybernan

1:50 am

No poking fun at your name today, I promise :)

1:50 am

And why isn't rince a word?!

1:50 am

Lol, poke away, I am used to it ;)

1:50 am

Because it wants to be written with an S?

1:51 am

Love the icon, sprite

1:51 am

:) Thanks GreyWoulf!

1:52 am

argh. need one more a. ac6/24. any clues?

1:53 am

Well I can't seem to find more words by just passing out on the keyboard so I suppose it's time to get some sleep.

1:54 am

Schroeder, don't give up that easily! Miracles can happen, depending on where your nose hits the keys, right?

1:54 am

I need help with ch 5/ 16

1:55 am

Rapidly hitting that point myself, Schroeder, The c's keep turning into o's Sleep well and we'll see you later

1:55 am

Bye schroeder!

1:55 am

Sleep well, both of you. Sorry guys, I have no help to offer yet, I am still in the blissful typing-away state.

1:56 am

Nevermind, I just got it.

1:56 am

I'm not out yet, I want to get at least 6 more before I turn in

1:57 am

nenaluli: ch5/16 is plural of ch4/7, there's another one with a different last letter

2:00 am

Funny, in the CH department all I find are 4/6s and 5/14s :)

2:00 am

depends on which c you start with

2:00 am

sprite think of ending with the same letter you start with

2:01 am

ac 6/24 - in more pain

2:01 am

Nah, this stupid grid will not recognise 'choc' though I eat it every other day.

2:02 am

I didn't recognise wicca either

2:03 am

bless you saphyre!

2:03 am

Thanks, saphyre! I can't be bothered to check, but if it's not been mentioned recently, I just found a nice re9/60

2:03 am

thank you saphyre!!!

2:03 am

Made it to 200 so will call it a night.

2:03 am

Take care stillcrazy

2:04 am

Good night stillcrazy!

2:04 am

Any clues, sfneil? That's the one 9 I'm missing :-(

2:05 am

builds off re6/21

2:05 am

Not wicca? It's about time we have a serious chat with the enable dictionary!

2:05 am

add "what I *** for dinner"

2:06 am

oh thanks neil, that got me my last 9 also

2:07 am

I'd like clues for other nines... I only have 2!

2:07 am

Thanks -- got it.

2:07 am

What do you have neil?

2:07 am

Hm... and what would you call putting new nice dishes on the table after they have been broken? Should be good for another Re7, right?

2:08 am

I have that one and ca9/60

2:08 am

Can I have a clue for ae 6/ 18?

2:09 am

there are two ca 9's - one's a surgical procedure and one relates to milk protein

2:09 am

hello all...beautiful sunny morning here in London :)

2:10 am

hi sherb!

2:10 am

morning sherb

2:10 am

Oh God :) I just tried "carear"

2:10 am

I've got the chemical one, but not the surgical one

2:10 am

Hi there sherb, also sunny on the other side of the Canal! Morning to you. Are you back to wintertime as well or is England still the odd one out?

2:11 am

nenaluli... I am not sure how to break this to you... but you are certainly hitting the desperate state, lol.

2:11 am

Never mind, got the surgery.... thanks!

2:11 am

neil, it's an alternative method of child delivery

2:11 am

okay never mind

2:12 am

Okay. 5 more words and I'm out...

2:13 am

hi Griff, GW, sprite, neil :) Our clocks went back last night too....but only my PC changes automatically, so I'll be spending half an hour some time today changing all the others...for some of them I have to get out the instructions to remember how to do it, lol

2:14 am

LOL sherb, I sympathise completely! Don't you hate things you have to do only once or twice a year?

2:15 am

What I hate are the semiannual chores that you have to remember on your own -- at least daylight savings has national publicity!

2:15 am

i've never understood the daylight savings thingy. we dont' do that here in hong kong.

2:16 am

it's an agri-business thing... totally political

2:17 am

Yeah, those ones are even worse, GreyWoulf. Never cared for that daylight saving something myself. This isn't too bad, but omg, in spring. Getting up when you still need sleep, eating when you aren't yet hungry, going to bed when you aren't yet sleepy... Crazy!

2:18 am

we call it 'British Summer Time' here in the UK - isn't that a great name? - and there's a big debate every year about making it permanent - but people living in the far north of Scotland feel very differently about it than those living somewhere like Cornwall in the far south west...

2:19 am

I ignore the politics and eat when im hungry and sleep when im tired.

2:19 am

except, of course, if im busy babling :)

2:19 am

I can't even spell anymore.

2:19 am

That's pretty much the same problem here

2:20 am

daylight savings. sounds odd. i'm glad we don't have it. ;)

2:20 am

nenaluli, get real. You babble when you are hungry, you babble when you are sleepy... Hey, where does that remind me of.... oh yeah, it's me!

2:22 am

The truth is, I don't even get hungry or sleepy anymore. I notice my stomach grumbling hours later, and my sleepiness is determined by the constant misspelling.

2:24 am

And, at 200 words, I retire. I will be back later today to finish :) Everybody have a good day (or night)!

2:24 am

nite nite nena :)

2:24 am

bye nenaluli!

2:25 am

Goodnight, nenaluli! I'm not far behind you (sleepwise, I mean... about 50 words behind you babble-wise!)

2:25 am

Great work nena, you've earned your break See you later and G'nite

2:25 am

bye nena

2:27 am

Sleep well, nena!

2:31 am

Okay, folks. That's it for me, too, with 140 words left to find... hopefully I'll have time to get to them tomorrow. (Who am I kidding? Of course I'll make time to find them!) Goodnight!

2:32 am

I have 140 left too and that's where I've got to stop. 'Night everybody.

2:32 am

G' nite sfneil

2:32 am

So long Griffums,

2:33 am

Night neil, night Griffs. Have a good rest ;)

2:33 am

'Nite Griffums and Grey Woulf!

2:33 am

And sprite! See you tomorrow!

2:34 am

I'm turning in as well. 165 in, the rest to go, but a two year old doesn't know from daylight savings time. *hugs to all* TTFN

2:34 am

goodnight griffums, goodnight sfneil!

2:34 am

goodnight GreyWoulf!

2:34 am

sweet dreams Griff, GW, neil :)

2:37 am

Well, I definitely feel stupid. I have been trying for 15 minutes to turn my birth delivery Ce8 into a Ce9. Only after rereading the log I realised it said Ca9. This way I'll never get to 306, of course. Or should that read oaf course if it is about me?

2:38 am

sounds as tho' you've been in labour sprite :)

2:38 am

Twice, and that has been twice too many ;)

2:38 am

it's okay sprite! i did the exact same thing. ;)

2:38 am

Lol renee!

2:40 am

then i was just like. WHY can i not read?? sheeeshhh. *bangs forehead against computer screen*

2:42 am

Yeah, that was it exactly. WHY do I spend my time trying something that could have been clearly impossible and unnecessary from the very start?! ;)

2:42 am

haha. well, hopefully, we'll learn to be smarter next time! :)

2:43 am

Morning all! Looks llike a good one today!

2:43 am

It is, amanda, especially if you read the log carefully, LOL.

2:44 am

LOL sprite!

2:45 am

Which I didn't, amanda, and that sent me on a wild goosechase ;

2:46 am

Where I met renee!

2:46 am

I make a habit of doing that, Sprite. Why won't babble take wicca? Proper noun, I suppose

2:47 am

Join the gang, amanda. GreyWoulf and I were upset about that too. Very proper noun.

2:48 am

yup sprite! our wild goosechases. ;)

2:49 am

I must admit they have a certain charm :)

2:49 am

Evidently babble doesn't read zines, either. Any z-words?

2:49 am

Anyone else who wants to make 'tranches'?

2:50 am

sprite, believe me I've tried!

2:51 am

2 z-words. think of a metal.

2:51 am

Thanks Chessy, I feel less alone now! Yes, there are 2 Zwords, but I haven't found them yet. Also tried zines :)

2:51 am

amanda - the name of a French bar ;)

2:51 am

doh! thanks, renee

2:52 am

Thanks renee, didn't even have to look at the grid again to find them with your clue!

2:52 am

you're welcome!

2:52 am

I decided to go pro before I left for the night. This game is too much fun not to. Again, hugs to all and see you later TTFN

2:53 am

Welcome to the club, GreyWoulf! Great to have you around, pro or not... but pro is even better ;) Sleep well, pleasant dreams.

2:53 am

welcome to the pro community GW...nice profile :)

2:55 am

I like your profile!

3:16 am

123 words in and still only found 1 8's and no 9's any help willingly accepted

3:16 am

Wow! 82 words all on my own! Time to go back through the log and whack myself on the head for not seeing the obvious

3:22 am

goodjob amandacath!

3:22 am

146 words left to find...time to get dressed, coffee, papers etc...and change all those clocks...happy Babbling all, back later :)

3:23 am

bye sherb!

3:30 am

Well, that was a lot of disturbing demands here at home! Now time for some serious wordhunting, lol.

3:33 am

Just found a great re10 - babble won't take it, even though google gave me 4190 hits on it!

3:34 am

I really hate it when that happens. The enable dictionary is so weird!

3:35 am

yes it is! for some words, it's like why aren't they there! and other words are just like. what words are those???

3:35 am

Exactly. Like ywis and crms :)

3:36 am

woah. THOSE are weird words.

3:38 am

You'll get used to them. Like crwth and pfui and etui and etwee and... :)

3:39 am

ohmygosh. crazy words.

3:40 am

They certainly are. But they sort of grow on you :)

3:41 am

i'd certainly hope so! otherwise... you'd just go completely insane.

3:42 am

They are balanced by the people on this side, who are always willing to help you find those words with the most creative clues :)

3:43 am

hooray for nice and skillful babblers! :)

3:49 am

I haven't quite figured out the Enable word-vetting procedure either. Lots of the words I end up getting only by wringing out the stats (it starts with x, has so many letters and so many points, so it must be...) seem to be acronyms, which I would think are proper nouns. There's the orcs/ents debate as well - I'm with Sprite from yesterday - equal rights for all Tolkien creatures! Speaking of which, I seem to remember being reprimanded for 'elves' as well.

3:50 am

.. and acer should be OK, nice tree ...

3:56 am

*people on this siTe* I mean :) 188 words and counting...

4:07 am

yay! 241 words!

4:07 am

Well, I'm offended... Wicca is invalid!

4:07 am

Great going!

4:08 am

thank you!

4:08 am

Lol Jera... join the gang! We have had some people in the log who agree fully with you. :)

4:09 am

And I am pretty sure 'wiccan' would be acceptable.

4:11 am

Sorry, I missed a lot (including Neil!) whist I wandered off to do Holiday shopping on eBay...

4:12 am

Neil will be back... as we all :D

4:13 am

As for the Tolkien debate, ents sneak in as anent...

4:13 am

Hi All - looking for the 3rd Ne6. I have the tidy one and the close one. Any clues for the last one?

4:14 am

Hi Dianne! another close one. in a different tense.

4:16 am

renee - big DUH to me. Thanks.

4:16 am

you're welcome! i like seeing the hk flag up there. ;)

4:16 am

Yeah, nothing can stop an ent :)

4:17 am

O.K. on to the i words - in4 - I have the measurement one - what the onter one? TIA

4:17 am

Not wanting to move.

4:18 am

i5/10

4:18 am

a dolphin!

4:18 am

i 4/4

4:19 am

My bad... you are looking for a 4, not a 5 :(

4:19 am

I got it just after I sent my post - finihed those 4 off :)

4:21 am

ohmygod. there are SO many t's.

4:21 am

I need 2 more. Shall I post a list after I finish them?

4:22 am

Wh6 - I have the cry baby one - any clue for the other?

4:22 am

what the crybaby does

4:23 am

verb form of what she does.

4:24 am

Patrice - I can not believe that I did not put that in right away. I better check all my words for the plurals. Thanks.

4:26 am

Dianne, I always do that. When I am near finishing, I check the list, not looking at the grid, and I ALWAYS find missing plurals, singulars and verb forms. And such. :)

4:27 am

hmm. i'm missing an Na 4/5 and Na 5/12. any clues?

4:28 am

Nope. Nothing. Not a single one.

4:30 am

morning all, I've been lurking for a bit, na4 is an ointment and na5 is to do with the nose

4:30 am

Well, my time's up at 84 words (only 222 left to find, whoo-hoo!)... must get a few more hours of sleep before the household awakens... later!

4:31 am

ferrari - i have those two already. anymore?

4:31 am

Sleep well, Jera. Are you sure, ferrari? I have an NA combo 4-5 that is really nothing.

4:32 am

YES! thank you sprite! i got it now!

4:33 am

LOL! What did you think, that I was being rude? ;)

4:33 am

nono. just thought that you didn't have the word. ;)

4:34 am

:)

4:35 am

I'd missed the fact that there were 4 x na, have got them, thanks sprite.

4:37 am

I just found my final E. And yes, it was the most obvious one of them all. The every one. Babble makes me eat humble pie...

4:41 am

only r's, s's, and t's left now!

4:42 am

Great going! I only need some more As and Ds. So together we have them all!

4:42 am

same here renee ... might be done by lunchtime :)

4:43 am

Hello all...how many words are in today's puzzle?

4:44 am

Hi LaVerne... only 306 today :)

4:45 am

only 306? I have been lucky to make 70 on any given day and I thought I had a large vocabulary LOL Thanks

4:45 am

Done! 306 words / 5.33 / 5125 points today. Anyone who needs a clue?

4:47 am

wow sprite, you are awesome! I'm struggling with a couple of r words, re5/14 and re6/24 - I'm sure they're obvious & linked but I can't see 'em!

4:47 am

I'm sure I need a clue or two, but I think I will try to make it on my own...for a little while anyway ;-)

4:47 am

won't take aread or arear, and I've still 50 to go, groan

4:48 am

yes please sprite - sc7/36 please - & many congratulations to you!!

4:49 am

LaVerne....don't fret...always thought i was competitive and an excellent wordsmith til I started playing babble....initially got very frustrated(don't use any help, apart from the odd clue here and there) and now enjoy myself by finding all the words I can, plus guessing a few.It means i never (well once) finish a puzzle but it's OK...... HI Sprite :)

4:50 am

zoom the sc 7 is an extension of sc5/12, it's a type of socket for tv's etc

4:50 am

Re5/14 and 6/24 are linked, but not obvious. Think of the 'break' re-word that isn't there and then double the middle consonant in stead.

4:51 am

thanks ferrari :) how're you doing with this monster grid?

4:51 am

Sc7/36 builds on Sc5/12. Think of connecting a dvd player to the tv. Then past tense.

4:51 am

Thanx sprite, very helpful. I should have had a closer 'look round'!

4:54 am

hi Tbear!

4:54 am

zoom, 50 to go, how about you?

4:55 am

ferrari - got 179 so many millions to go,lol i'm presently stumbling around the Fs without bumping in to many of them at all!

4:57 am

I've just realised my name's nearly there

4:59 am

ferrari...I'm almost there without my b

4:59 am

Ferrari, that was the very first thing I saw when I started this morning :) The Fs are overall not strange words. There is this plural related to light and some sh*tty stuf, but the others are pretty common. Good luck hunting!

4:59 am

Help - I'm going bananas looking for the Re 8 and 2nd Re7 (I have the perusers one). Any clues? Nudge?

5:00 am

wow - (almost) fame at last ferrari. found the Fs - isn't it strange how you can look at this grid for so long without seeing things and then they jump right out at you?!

5:00 am

tell me about it zoom

5:02 am

Dianne, you may need to go back over the steps you've already taken ...

5:02 am

dianne, you re7 your steps

5:02 am

Dianne: for the Re7, think of hunting and what you should do with your steps if you get lost. The Re8 is the plural.

5:04 am

Chessy, Ferrari and Sprite - thank you all so much. Can't believe I didn't see those.

5:05 am

I couldn't find the E4/6, so I am right with you. :)

5:05 am

time for a break - see you all later:)

5:05 am

The first E4/6 that is.

5:05 am

bye zoom

5:06 am

E4/6 - hello - hello - hello

5:08 am

Sprite - I gave you the hint for the other one - what you are looking for is "per person".

5:13 am

Looking for the last CH5. I have the spine one, the Marx brother one and the dishes. What am I missing?

5:14 am

Dianne, plural of your ch4/7, sounds like baby hens ...

5:15 am

Chessy - I didn't know that you could have more than one of those - thanks.

5:15 am

dianne, little hens, it doesn't seem as if it's possible to have such a word

5:17 am

O.K. what about the 2nd Ch6 - I have the more fashionable one.

5:18 am

more spines dianne ...

5:18 am

pluralise your spine dianne

5:18 am

HELP I've been at this for hours Found more than 150 words But only 3 8's and no 9's someone must take pity on me . I need clues!!!!!!!

5:19 am

I think ch5/16 + a should be a "fashionable non-jewish woman"

5:19 am

Chessy & sprite - I was typing it just as Chessy posted - got to remember to try the S with everything in the neighborhood. Thanks.

5:22 am

Ok, I've gone back over my steps (check!) but can't find the pursuers ... how blind am I?

5:23 am

amanda, are you looking for pursuers or perusers?

5:24 am

amanda, you tr5 an outline then re7 it

5:28 am

Oh dear, am I so blind that I'm reading the post wrong? Let me check ... yep, I am. Ok, so I'm off looking for perusers now...

5:29 am

GOT IT!!! Got to remember to twist things the other way around...

5:38 am

wh4/14 is not the way I'm used to spelling it!!!

5:42 am

may I have a clue for the co/8 and co/9 please

5:44 am

I have the a9/60. may I have a clue for the a8/40. Need to take a break but want to have at least 100 words under my belt.

5:45 am

Good morning everyone from finally somewhat sunny Vermont. 133 words and in my usual morning peril of trying to type while the cat lurks, insisting that this always used to be his time for breakfast. It lends a certain je ne sais quoi to the game to play while avoiding being bitten.

5:46 am

Still missing 4 w's I've got: the bush 4 variations on the crybaby the noise, the genius, the castle 4 variations of starting involuntarily 2 variations of what it's too early to start drinking any help?

5:47 am

eva - i've learned to feed the cats first then they'll leave me be (for the most part)

5:48 am

periwinkle your ar8 is a poisonous salt

5:49 am

periwinkle - the co's are spanish Julia Childs

5:49 am

ferrari, well that clue really helps me :0). Will keep looking.

5:50 am

can't seem to get the right spelling for the co words

5:50 am

amanda there are 2 wr5/18's

5:50 am

ferrari...thx for the 'and old lace' clue

5:51 am

i really should feed him first, much kinder, but once I go downstairs I also have to feed the stove, and it's soooo cold. Anyway, your example of cat tending has shamed me into taking a break and digging out the disgusting stuff he now (thanks to the "alternative" vet we have switched to) eats....all kinds of lovely raw ground up critters, bones and all. He thinks it's the cats meow.

5:51 am

periwinkle, there's a film "ar7 and old lace"

5:52 am

ferrari, found the ar/7. thanks

5:53 am

eva - but that's great! not that we've made that step yet with the raw diet. we're all on one floor here so once i'm out of bed there's no peace til i feed them

5:53 am

co8/9, think mathematical term with a c instead of an s, then add a long time- your er4/4

5:54 am

what is it with you other cat people....mine have permenant supply of their dried food (biscuits) and never bug me for food...Once in a blue moon I take pity on them and give them some wet food...and I adore mine

5:56 am

ferrrari - ok, found them. The first one makes sense, the second one...?

5:57 am

finally found the co8 and 9 with the help of Yahoo Spanish/English online dictionary. Made it one of my favs

5:57 am

Eva! Good morning!!! hugs for hungry Merk! Have a nice day!!!!

5:57 am

amanda, if you mean the wr's just change last letter

5:58 am

sorry...didn't mean to sound soooo finger wagging, but with two teenage girls as well, couldn't bear cats nagging me too....:)

5:59 am

no offense ~ we're out numbered here tbear (six to two). Poo spoils them all to the point of celebrating their birthdays!

5:59 am

Sorry, that was unclear. Meant I got them both, just don't know what the second one could mean. If the root is the adjective (that isn't there), how do you get that out of it?

5:59 am

Although it's some extra work, it does seem to make sense that cats are not meant to eat cooked food filled with grains. But the hardest part is that he is used to self-feeding from dry food in his bowl all day, and now he only gets food twice a day, plus he loves crunchy stuff Iso I guiltily (imagining justifying myself to the young, purist vet at the next visit) sneak him a very little bit of the old dry stuff as a treat (the old quality vs quantity of life debate). Had that same quandary when we moved here from the city re whether to let him go out on his own or not. He'd love it, but my neighbor's cats are always getting eaten by coyotes, fisher cats, racoons, bear, and we decided on caution. I heard the coyotes make a kill about 20 feet from the house the other night and was so glad I new where the cat was.

6:01 am

heaven knows amanda, babble weirdness again

6:01 am

ok...so if babble allows co8 and co9 then why won't it allow the place where the co8 and co9s do their thing...co6???????

6:01 am

Good morning Elena! No offense taken tbear. If we had children around I'm sure I'd just turn the cat loose on the basement and let him fend for himself, but as he is our only "child" we can devote more time and energy.

6:02 am

Still missing 2 w's - time to go to the stats and start monkeying...

6:04 am

I'm stuck (big time) on the ar8 -- any clues beyond "poisonous salt?"

6:05 am

Patrice, if you have the poisonous ar7/32 (clues earlier in log), then ar8 starts with the same 6 letters ...

6:06 am

Eva I can promise you THIS bear would only ever kill a cat with slobbery kisses and snuggles.... your environment really isn't puddy tat friendly..... cats don't mind being in tho...mostly mine are lazy & warmth loving,I have to push them out for a bit each day....like a constitutional airing

6:07 am

patrice take the first 5 letters of the poison then you eat it!, then you can say " i a** that

6:07 am

ok, puzzle is printed - we're off to the laundry mat. catch you all later

6:07 am

sorry Patrice, first 5 letters ...

6:08 am

Thank you!!!!

6:08 am

Oh tbear be careful of too much dried food I lost a much loved cat years ago due to kidney failure and my vet said dried food was one of the causes. Later lost two siamese in awful circumstances, one was savaged by a greyhound and the other died of cancer. So I bought a cockatoo to avoid more heartache. I now worry about what will happen to her when I pop my clogs, fortunately my younger son loves her so I think she will always be a pampered pet. I still hanker for another siamese though. Got side tracked there!!!back to Babble eh

6:12 am

Yay! Got them! What a w6/30 I am!

6:13 am

what is the second letter of the w6/30 please

6:17 am

It's a wi, periwinkle. Nescafe, Nascar, nascent - oh, I wish...

6:19 am

MU..it gets so confusing...my last three vets advocate dried food with wet food as a treat. Had my last cat til 20 with over active thyroid for last 5 yrs, healthy as hell on white fish and biscuits. Another cat I had never ate biscuits and had rotten teeth, which affected his kidneys!! P.S. we had a siamese when I was small,Alice of Kenmare....they are extraordinary aren't they!

6:23 am

No sea nymphs either. Ok, I give up - any hints for the second ni5/12 and the 6/21?

6:24 am

Ok, what's the name of the law that says "you find it as soon as you ask for help"?

6:24 am

amanda, your brother/sister's daughter/s ...

6:25 am

tbear. Re Siamese they really are wonderful animals our two used to follow my husband around like dogs, one was A lilac point (minew) and Simon was a seal point, He was the naughty one, always getting into scrapes Minew was the sedate lady who died of cancer It was such a heartbreak to lose them both I haven't had another cat in 16 years but boy! do I covet my brothers Siamese It's just a good job I live at the other end of the country to them

6:33 am

Mu...our girl was a chocolate....siamese are so dog like aren't they..Ours used to knock on the front door by lifting the knocker and letting it fall,to come in. It really spooked my mother, who took ages to work out who the ghost was! They cry like babies when in heat! The worst is when they are unwell they easily get a death wish....my mother and i sat up for 48 hours syringing fluid into Alice sad cos she could have survived. They are gorgeous, character cats. All mine have been moggies from rescue centre since...fulfils my nuturing tendencies, which teenagers don't!! lol

6:36 am

still 65 to go - off for lunch but will be back later!

6:38 am

Love the chat about cats. Mad about them! My two (at the moment) are both british short-hairs (Ivy [black] & Sparky [silver tabby])- very cuddly!

6:45 am

tbear. I'm sure you get so much love from your orphan? cats, and I would (and have done in the past) give a home to any stray that appeared. But since we got the bird I can't encourage them the way I used to. I was very surprised to discover that parrots love a cuddle too and ours has really become family, we've had her fourteen years now (so I have teenager as well) and I would hate to be without her. Often tempted to try her with a kitten but I'm outvoted when I suggest it. Keep trying the I'll have one for xmas but I hasn't worked yet lol

6:54 am

any clues on the en's before I start monkey typing?

7:00 am

got 'em!

7:00 am

good. Now how's about a clue? ;-)

7:01 am

amandacath onlu two en words to find one 5 letter and one 6

7:02 am

one is "growing outwards", the other is what Babble does to your vocabulary

7:03 am

Morning all. Just logged in and was delighted to see chat from some of you who, like me, are cat lovers. I have two cats -- brothers, 4 yrs old, who have been my life since losing my husband last year. Now, sadly, one has been diagnosed with cancer and it's a matter of days. So, as you fellow cat lovers can imagine, it's a very sad time. May need some support from my Babble friends when my poor Sammie's time comes, and glad to know there are others who share my love for these wonderful animals.

7:04 am

Thanks amandacath, got one, now looking for the other. Too early!!!

7:04 am

Darleen, is that Cap'n Mal?

7:06 am

yup! I have a MAD crush on Nate. (blush)

7:08 am

Don't blush - you're not alone. Haven't seen the movie yet, it hasn't made it to Germany - except for a press release, which a friend got to see -- I'm green with envy.

7:09 am

The movie is pretty good. I rated it a B-. I couldn't believe it was 2 hours long, though. Some GREAT scenes.

7:09 am

Speaking of Nate (heh heh) you DID know he is having a major love thing with Summer, didn't you? So sad.

7:11 am

No, didn't know that, but I try to keep away from the gossip. Makes it easier to maintain the willing suspension of disbelief. My cruch is on Mal, not Nate, if you know what I mean.

7:13 am

Gotcha. I "inferred" from several pics I've seen. Nate is all over the girl. He is totally smitten. So you like Mal, eh? Had to laugh at an interview where Gina said that Mal and Nate are alike because they're both "moral." Mal??? Moral??? Was she watching the series she was in?

7:16 am

Guess it would depend on one's definition of moral...???

7:17 am

Well, he's a thief. A liar. A murderer. Not very moral in my book. But I still like him.

7:18 am

Yeah. Me too!

7:35 am

to you cataholics: am a HUGE dog person but have to admit love for a friend's big furry black cat, Spink, who has won me over with her dog-like ways! :-)

7:45 am

Hi Une -- I'm a dog lover, too. But since I have to travel some with my job, cats are a bit easier. They're all wonderful companions, though, aren't they?

7:46 am

yes they are--don't know what I'd do without my two sweet rescue dogs!

7:49 am

Help, please? te6/21 and te7/32

7:49 am

hey...had lunch...and you're still talking animals...great

7:51 am

Une -- I don't know how my Scotch is going to do when his brother, Sammie, is gone. We've had them since they were 9 wks old and they've always been together. The few days Sammie was at the hospital for diagnostics, Scotch kept looking for him around the house.

7:51 am

FYI te4, te5, te6 x 2, and te7 all start with the same four letters

7:52 am

patrice...te6/21 sounds like it should be torn not te past tense...hope that makes sense

7:53 am

know what you mean, Cathy--when my mom's springer died at 16, his son looked for him for days and days

7:54 am

ok, i'll stop--i could talk about dogs all day long!

7:56 am

that's the good thing bout cats....as soon as one departs, the one that's left think....yay....now I'm TOP dog ooops cat and promptly settles into prime positions around the house....I love them for their selfishness

7:56 am

I'VE FINISHED, got caught by the French river (again) and lassoed (literally) by the 2 spellings of that ri/re5/10. Anybody need juicy clues?

7:56 am

LOL!

7:58 am

my sister has just got a 9 week old German Shepherd (that doesn't look right), he's gorgeous

7:59 am

thanks for the encouragement. tbear, I know what you mean and I don't think Scotch will have any problem as he already thinks he's top cat. Curled up now between me and my keyboard which makes Babbling even more challending :)

8:00 am

see, even my typing is less accurate ... meant challenging :)

8:02 am

How many words today?

8:03 am

306, stats are at babbler's anon

8:03 am

Cath....why is it they pick the silliest (read....where will I get the most attention)(or look the cutest) place...and if it happens to be on you, you'll sit without moving for hours (read no feeling in legs)

8:04 am

Thanx. I am at 298, I better go check

8:06 am

cathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat's illness. It is indeed heartbreaking, and often not understood by non-animal people, that our "pets" are often the least ambivalent relationships we have, and very deep. Love is love. Our cat, Merp, is a gorgeous, long-haired tuxedo cat with a lot of Maine Coon cat in him - so stockily built, doglike devotion, not much of a lap cat, but always right by one's side, very mischieveous ...prone to jumping out from places to nip my ankles and then grinning as I scream.

8:07 am

ok, see you all later

8:16 am

morning all - it's Mrs. S. How is everyone doing?

8:19 am

Some kindly help, PLEASE??? I'm stuck on my last 4 words -- ta6/21 & ta 7/32 and te 6/21 &te 6/32, both from the T on the bottom left.

8:19 am

Not doing at all well, only 54 so far, that won't get me a gold star. The T's and S's are so confusing. Keep looking for hints, but all I can see are cats and dogs.

8:21 am

well, ladies, I wish I could help. "The Dog" (my husband) started this last night, but he doesn't have those you're looking for Patrice.

8:22 am

Hi Mrs S......and yr Canine....

8:24 am

S'dog is still sleeping - otherwise he'd take over the computer and try to make people laugh. (like last night if any of you were around for that.)

8:24 am

tbear - you're right. I'll sit and hold them for hours. In fact, just went to check on Sammie and hold him for a few minutes. Can tell he's getting much weaker. Eva, thanks for your note. Nice to have some fellow animal lovers to chat with. But this is such a big puzzle today, I'd better get busy working on it if I have a prayer of finishing!

8:26 am

how many words?

8:26 am

306 dylan

8:27 am

sit down...306

8:28 am

9:13 am

Good afternoon everyone :) zoom- think sitting :)

9:14 am

9:15 am

Thanks sherb :)

9:15 am

9:15 am

Hi baggo, how you doing? (((x))) for yesterday :(

9:18 am

Hi sis :) Give my niece a big birthday hug then, lol!

9:19 am

Hi Baggo, I love that icon it reminds me of art at school when we used to wax crayon in all colours on top of foil, then scratch it off.

9:19 am

(((xx))) back at you for yesterday...i can't quit cryin and thinking about her...then that darn salad is in the puzzle...I guess it's a way to send good vibes to sarah and richard... hey lotti

9:21 am

I know baggo, me too. Made me realise how amazing the friendships on here are though.

9:23 am

why did I start this???? Its going to screw my ratings! Wait - what am I saying - ratings? Last time I looked I was at about no 200 anyway. So who cares! Fun is better than ratings any day!

9:23 am

I know...I couldn't play yesterday...and I went back and read the log, and I felt bad for you guys and I wasn't here to help..:(

9:24 am

It`s pretty incredible to think of all the good wishes and support you get, from people you don`t even know from all over the world at sad times like these eh!?

9:24 am

lol Atlante...I didn't even realize how many words there were on here till you just came on...what was i thinkin?

9:25 am

Aw, thanks baggo, must say I did miss you. But we kept things very quiet on the log.

9:26 am

I'll tell you guys when I went south, it was tough, and I felt like I had good thoughts with me, and I'm convinced that they came from people on this site...my friends on both sides of the pond rock...

9:27 am

sorry everyone, I just realised i've been tapping away for about 1/2 an hour and not said good afternoon to you all

9:27 am

Hi atalante, play for fun, not the silly rankings! lol! You are so right sis. Someone said yesterday that it was the sort of thing that restores your faith in your fellow man.

atalante- I only took notice of the rankings the one time I managed to make it into the top 10. But that was probably because I've never been in a top ten of anything ever before, lol!!!

9:31 am

I`d better go and get the hair straighteners on the job. Speak to you guys later. Take care all :o)

9:31 am

9:36 am

9:37 am

9:43 am

Can anyone give me a hint for the da 7/21? Thanks!

9:44 am

serski: if i remember correctly you have to play 3 games before you are posted?

9:44 am

hi serski :) you have to play three games before a score appears, but this game is so addictive, that shouldn't be a problem ;)

9:44 am

I'm just thinking of an old friend who did a round of interning at a Det. ER. He told stories that were horrible. But that's not the point. Good job vibes on Weds.

9:44 am

ty, jrinehart!!

9:44 am

speed let me go alooking for it...

9:45 am

any help on the last two ca's

9:45 am

C8/50 Mexican word for kitchen, modified n the english fashion to mean a place that sells kitchen stuff. c9/66 plural

9:46 am

dalmatian - there are two 7/32's and a 7/36 but no 7/21

9:46 am

dalmation add to da4/5 when you go out with a boy or a girl it is called a da--

9:46 am

Thanks for filling me in, Baggo. That's tough one. I'll be praying for the family and that your interview goes well.

9:47 am

oops that was da6/21

9:47 am

ty sherb, ur correct it in being no prob getting a rating, i'm addicted to word games!! ty once again

9:47 am

Baggo- I will think good luck thoughts for you all day on Wednesday :) I lost my dad in February this year and I don't know what I'd have done without the nurses in the ER.

9:48 am

gnubee- there is a condolence thread under general at babblers anon if you want to leave them a message.

9:51 am

Oops - the one I need is the first one - the da 7/32.

9:51 am

ty, Lola

9:52 am

morning all any advice on the wi 1/7

9:53 am

the wi7-- There were lots of them today when they saw the word count.

9:53 am

Thanks Brandyjack, but I have'nt spent much time in spanish speaking countries - have no idea what mexican for kitchen is - been monkey typing around what makes sense to me, but to no avail.

9:53 am

great clue brandyjack!! speed think choclate money (spanish style)

9:54 am

Got it on a new variation!

9:55 am

I'm looking at the Spanish word for kitchen. It's the English variation that's making me nuts.

9:58 am

joel=-take out the H and use variations of that

9:59 am

Well, I got the "h" out of there. I'll have to do some monkey typing. "Oh, Bonzo, get over here!"

10:00 am

joel- the word actually means a person that cooks. If that helps any

10:02 am

johnp-- bada bing!

10:02 am

Ahh. Great Joel!

10:03 am

Wow that one took 10 minutes of monkey typing!!

10:03 am

2 more words and I'm taking a break. Anyone know the word count today>? I've just been blindly babbleing around

10:04 am

jp-- 306. You might wanna rethink that break.

10:04 am

306 - phew!

10:04 am

johnp: it's a whopping 306

10:05 am

Knew it had to be alot if I could get this many just hopping around randomly. When I get the big ones easily (and when there are lots of s,d, re's) I know it is a biggy. Well I'm off to be productive - at least briefly. Have fun all

10:07 am

dalmatian - da7/32, where cows are relieved ;)

10:08 am

Anybody know the wi6/30. Last w and it's making me nuts.

10:08 am

sorry joel, i'm not even through the a's yet...

10:09 am

baggo-- well, start from the bottom. Geez!

10:10 am

joel - wi 6/30, another name for a smoked sausage ;)

10:11 am

yah joel...what sherb said...lol

10:11 am

226 words - off to cook tea!

10:11 am

Baggo I was going to start at the a's but when I couldn't find the first ac7 I gave up LOL

10:11 am

it must be a variation because I tried the spelling for the sausage and zip.

10:12 am

ok, what a geek i am, I found that ac first, which is what sent me there...it's the as...that are kickin my butt...but alas...i'll have to find them at somepoint...lol

10:13 am

joel - my icon should help you. it doesn't end in r.

10:13 am

joel, try spelling it kiddie fashion at the end.

10:13 am

joel - try an ending that makes it sounds smaller ;)

10:14 am

A teeny sausage. I mustard up the courage and found it. My condiments to those who helped. I was focused on the route to the "r" at the end.

10:15 am

eennie...w...miney moe....

10:15 am

still stumped by wi 7 - it's making me loopy

10:15 am

LOL

10:15 am

lol joel....

10:15 am

I relish all your help. Now I can ketchup.

10:16 am

joel your killin me....lol

10:16 am

dear loopy - wi7, pl of wi6...

10:16 am

LOL joel!

10:17 am

***tosses a' and moves to end of alphabet*** will it help me any better????

10:18 am

I'm so proud. I've managed to create world wide wi7/48.

10:18 am

ok I got the wi6/30 but also cannot make it plural (do you guys have different letters)

10:19 am

baggo-- I knocked off most "w" words relatively quickly. Find a couple and you'll knock off several more.

10:20 am

opk, well i hope you know i feel like i've jumped outta the box, going to the end...total anal woman here...

10:20 am

It's the w6/33 that can pluralize. I don't think you can do that w/the w6/30.

10:21 am

baggo-- it's good for you. Besides, shouldn't an anal person start at the end?

10:22 am

There are two wi6/33's, only the first one can plural...

10:22 am

omg....roflmao...

10:22 am

baggo... z'a are much nice than a's...

10:23 am

oooh joelgee: lol

10:23 am

jeez jera......forgot about those...

10:25 am

well i found the wh6/33 and 7/48 since i've been doin that for the last bit...(pot callin kettle black)

10:31 am

evanonut, the wi7 is a group that wi6/33's

10:32 am

need the TE6/21 & TE7/32 that are together

10:33 am

Good morning all. Has anyone posted clues for the 7s, 8s, and 9s? Bandyjack was kind enough to do so yesterday. wondered if he or someone did so today.

It's a wild night in my neighborhood! Lots of kids who live in the country come into town and come to our street.....We complicate the matter by giving out glow sticks instead of candy. The kids love it and tell their friends!

3:16 pm

that's a great idea, jane

3:16 pm

'bye harpjane, have fun :)

8:08 pm

i was gone most of the day. took the puzzle to the laundry mat but that didn't work as well as i had hoped

8:08 pm

sparbd... nah... normally harder... lol

8:09 pm

What's with the rerun on Desperate Housewives?

8:09 pm

spar - not always - this is the longest one I have seen and I've been at it for about 2 weeks now. A couple of them have been under 50 words!!!

8:09 pm

BEAR... i had enough of that last night.

8:09 pm

poo's mom... ya... i was considering taking mine to see the fall foliage in new york state... thought that might be a little anti-social of me!

8:10 pm

couldn't resist --- i'll behave......

8:10 pm

I made a bad re list; should include another 6: peruse again, and another 7, which I don't have.

8:11 pm

Help - looking for last Se6/21. Not the one who sat you or the one who chars the meat. Any clues? Please.

8:11 pm

alot easier to be antisocial at the laundry mat! our foliage seems just past peak here. Now I get to rake the loverly leaves

8:12 pm

mamabear you're right tho - it is the longest one since poo and i got in on this insanity

8:12 pm

poo's mom... our foliage is peaking at the mo.. although past in the higher elevations of the poconos. we went to newburgh and near to poughkeepsie.. it was moderate-peaking there

8:12 pm

Mama - I've decided that the only way for you to show how sorry you are for the way you've treated me lately is that you should devote your attention to me finishing this puzzle. Here we go! the second ri5/12

8:14 pm

doggie - would you settle for a *bear hug* instead? (a gentle one I remember you are fragile) - I only have 112 words so I think you're barking up the wrong bear for clues on this one .....

8:14 pm

Oh yes, and to further confuse 'to draw again' is 8, not 9, which is something that impedes or slows. I won't make anymore lists. Promise.

8:14 pm

se6 / a branch of Congress

8:16 pm

Wogoe - I have that one - it''s the 3rd Se6/21 that I am after. Any clues for that?

8:17 pm

Hey!!!!! GW - congrats on pro status!!!! Nice punkin!!

8:19 pm

Wogoe - I have that past tense and I have the one who chars the meat. It is theother one I need - the 3rd Se6/21 on the list.

8:20 pm

Dianne - I gave you a clue for that.

8:20 pm

Thanks Mama - I did it last thing before I turned in around 4 this morning

8:21 pm

Jacula - sorry - I missed your post. Thanks.

8:22 pm

kind of late to be carving punkins!!!! (interesting bio by the way....)

8:22 pm

Dianne - se6/21 sounds like the 'ce** pit' plus a sea eagle.

8:23 pm

Jacula - got it - thanks so much.

8:23 pm

Okay Dianne.:-)

8:23 pm

After I finish or give up here, I still have to carve my real one! A fact I left out of my bio -- I am the master of timeliness *NOTE: this is sarcasm*

8:24 pm

So how are you doin' on word count MAMA? I was able to get on earlier so I only have 82 left

8:25 pm

Grey Woulf - one of the first words I found in the grid was 'Wicca' but, as I guessed, it wasn't 'allowed'.

8:25 pm

GW - you don't want to know.... it's not a pretty picture

8:26 pm

ok, I'm going nuts here. I have 4 missing words. Used BrandyJack's list, counted twice, have all the ones on his list and still 4 short. here I go again

8:26 pm

I've just completed about 6 hours of ironing and then come in to get the last 16 wordsleft to do. Got them all a few mins ago.

8:26 pm

Jacula -That was my first complaint this morning! sprite and Jera agreed that the dictonary needs to be updated

8:27 pm

Johnp - do you know what letters you're short on?

8:27 pm

Well, Grey Woulf, Wicca is capitalised and so wouldn't be an allowable word.

8:28 pm

MAMA - it's a HUGE list today, whatever you get is something to be proud of!

8:28 pm

Digressing to yesterday's puzzle --- Does anyone know why ashcan was accepted, yet trashcan wasn't a valid word?

8:28 pm

Ahhh Haaa. I found it. Apparently I cannot read an's because I skipped all 4 of them. Off to search. lol

8:29 pm

You still have to keep trying words though, don't you? I know the grid won't accept 'Erse' but I still key it in every time I see it. LOL.

8:29 pm

ar6/21, please

8:29 pm

cybernan - no, I wondered that myself.

Hi everyone! : )

8:30 pm

Jaqula!!! Six hours of ironing? Are you one of those people who presses their bed linens? I don't think I've ironed anything in the past six years, but I know my ex-sister-in-law presses everything, including tee shirts.

8:30 pm

Howdy Owl!

8:30 pm

hey

8:30 pm

cybernan - don't know why.... you just got to let it go... or "throw it away in the tr******" LOL

8:30 pm

DONE!ar 6 21. plural of ar 5, a tropical tree

8:31 pm

Hi Temple Owl. Mab - no, I don't press bed linen, except for pillowcases. I do iron tee-shirts though, yes.

8:31 pm

ar 6-21: a type of palm tree -- the one where the base looks something like a pineapple

8:31 pm

welcome Temple & oneway!!!!

8:31 pm

any help on the ec 6/21 & 8/50?

8:32 pm

topical trees it is

8:32 pm

ec6/21 - a card game.

8:33 pm

to answer your question GW, I have 121 so far. I didn't even print the 2letter list today!! Last nite and getting up early today wore me out. ........

8:33 pm

ec8/50 - spiny, bristly or prickly.

8:33 pm

It won't accept "carseat," either, and considering that they're required by law for children, it's hard to argue that they aren't "real"

8:33 pm

ec 8- spiny

8:34 pm

ec 8/50: begins like the herbal medicine made from the cone flower and ends with the past tense of eat.

8:34 pm

Well, MAMA, you have been keeping very late hours the past few days...

8:34 pm

Vicuna - car seat is 2 words.

8:34 pm

is there any way that the first clues that we need to play cannot scroll off? just wondering...

8:35 pm

look who's talking, Mr. 4 am!!!!!!! LOL

8:35 pm

georgygrrl - not sure what you mean?

8:35 pm

georgy - what do you mean by the first clues need to play?

8:36 pm

there are clues...the original clues. but to find them you have to keep going back

8:36 pm

Oh, you mean scrolling back through the message log?

8:37 pm

you can click "sow all messages" at the bottom

8:37 pm

That's the way it works! -- clues for most of the tough ones will have been posted several times

8:37 pm

yes. the original clues should be available for us all without all that scrolling

8:37 pm

evanadine - 'sow' all messages?? LOL. If they all grew it'd make the log HUGE.:-)

8:38 pm

hello all, didn't realize i didn't move the log up, and i thought wow it's real quiet on here...not...

8:38 pm

Hi Baggo.

8:38 pm

hi baggo - nice hair!!!!! my favorite color

8:38 pm

hey, my fingers have a lazy mind of their own. ;)

8:38 pm

Yay, the letter thief who was plaguing me this AM has found a new victim! (LOL)

8:38 pm

I admire your perseverance, Jacula, especially since I have so little myself. However, I am writing a 50,000-word novel in November as part of a 'novelists' month' activity. We shall see if I can persevere....

8:39 pm

I'm off to another game world for a while - back in 3 hours -- I was just checking in to see how everyone was doing. Great icon GreyWoulf!

8:39 pm

ty mama...did it just for halloween

8:39 pm

bye cybernan....

8:40 pm

Thanks cybernan! Have fun on your side journey!!

8:40 pm

OHHH yeah, Halloween!!! Thought maybe you were getting ready for prom!!!! LOL

8:41 pm

'Bye Cybernan. Have fun! Mab - of course you can do it! Hey, 50,000 words is nothing. LOL. How many words are you hoping to get down a day? How long do you have to do the novel? Don't suppose I need to tell you to 'just write it and don't stop to edit on the 1st draft'?

8:42 pm

yeah, 50,000 words is just a little over the word count today!!!

8:42 pm

mab -- would that be NaNoWriMo?

8:42 pm

Oh Baggo, you look ravishing! I looked at that site and especially admired the Little Bo Peep style.

8:42 pm

(tear) mmmaaammmaaa....(tear) mamabear (sniff) please help me (sniff sniff) i only have 3 more s's... se 5/ 14 se 6/ 21 se 5/ 10

8:42 pm

prom's good...now where did torgone get to...lol

8:42 pm

yeah right don't edit. Leave it up to us poor editors to do the dirty work! lol!

8:43 pm

Mab - if you've got 30 days to do it in that's around 1600 words a day. Make that 2000 or a little more to allow for editing time later. It's possible to do.

8:43 pm

i hear a dog - does it need to go outside?

8:43 pm

Yes Eva! Are you, are have you in the past, done this?

8:43 pm

Did I hear my name ???

8:44 pm

yeah boo peep was lovely....lol poo's mom...

8:44 pm

Maryb - No, I didn't mean don't edit the final draft! LOL. But it's easy to get bogged down editing veritually every sentence as you go along and lose the plot, as it were.

8:44 pm

no, not me...but i know at least one person doing it this month... i have a buncha friends who write, but i could never write that much in a month...heh

8:44 pm

torgone you scared the %$&% outta me...lol

8:44 pm

*torgone makes an appearance as he steps away from the tree he has been lurking behind*

8:44 pm

(are you doing...) I meant to say.

8:45 pm

OK. Now I need a hint for de 8/45.

8:45 pm

I would love to oblige Mustard Man, (sorry - I said I'd behave,,, but I lie on occasion) - I do not have the se's for which you seek assistance...

8:45 pm

***falls to ground faint from torgone popping up***

8:46 pm

de then your first word on your list

8:46 pm

se5/14 - painting on dry plaster (the art of).

8:47 pm

8:48 pm

Mab - stream of consciousness? That's okay. Just make sure you leave time to prune out all the stuff you've fallen in love with. In fact, if there's time, read it aloud onto tape and then listen back, and you'll see what works and what doesn't, what's boring, what's exciting etc.

8:55 pm

I noticed nobody is drinking tonite...... are we all on the wagon?

8:55 pm

Actually I am a writer, although I've never done a forced march like this. I have only the most vague notion of a plot. I think it will be fun to see what develops.

8:56 pm

ac8 & ac6, please

8:56 pm

A clue to ce 4/6, please. I'm hoping that this will lead me to some other ce's as well?

8:56 pm

mama everybody's been a bit down about sarah and richard, so we've kept it a bit low key...

8:56 pm

I'm drinking, mamabear .. Caipirinha?

8:57 pm

When feeding the obsession, I forget to drink, eat, and even sleep. Thanks for reminding me, MAMA. I think I'll just have a contemplative glass of port right now.

8:57 pm

ce 4 6 - plural for a body cavity. It isn't connected to any others

8:57 pm

i understand baggo..... i did not forget - have been thinking about them often

is anyone else finding the site vey slow tonight?

8:58 pm

harpjane, a body cavity, won't lead anywhere in the grid - count the points

8:58 pm

It's not the site thats slow, just me

: D LOL poos mom!

9:00 pm

I have a ce4 that means something I can't easily explain, but it is spelled like the S word for dessicated or extremely dry, as a desert.

9:00 pm

I know, Baggo.... :)

9:01 pm

You're right. Now I need clues for ce 6/21 and 7/36.

9:01 pm

this blue girl scares me about as much as torgones icon when she pops up....

torgone - what is that you're drinking??? oh heck - think i need to log out try again - see you in a few...

9:02 pm

harp.here is the real ce 6/7 . A hard, unctuous, fat- or wax-based solid, sometimes medicated, formerly applied to the skin directly or on dressings. (but think of a knife...)

9:03 pm

woe is me.... can't find body cavities, pointed needles, discriminated things, or painting on plaster. maybe I should call it a nite...... GW - I suppose you are near completion????? *mamabear furrows brow*

9:04 pm

ac is the same word as the ae, but put a c between the a and e

9:05 pm

I would say close but not yet near - I have 68 to go I have been using a2z heavily to help me out

9:05 pm

AHA! S's done. thanks for all your help. (only 19 words left until i'm DONE!)

9:05 pm

Thanks, Baggo!

9:05 pm

okay for the ac7/8 think of highest card in a deck and what you pay at hotel (the going r...) and then past tense it

9:05 pm

Thanks for asking Temple, didn't want to be the only one who didn't know of Torgone's refreshment choice.

9:06 pm

9:10 pm

I do believe you have earned tv time in spades, baggo. Such a week you've had, and such a puzzle today!

9:10 pm

baggo - the first two Ta's?

9:17 pm

ty so much took me hours to get it right...lol

9:18 pm

Temple Owl - 'co' plus a type of movie camera plus the ending of the 'ca' word just mentioned. For the plural, just add the usual single letter.

9:18 pm

Or you can take the co6/27, drop the silent letter, and add 3 letters to the end meaning an age, or a period in time.

9:20 pm

popping in to grid out a few more words... Hello Jac

9:21 pm

9:28 pm

I whipped that A2Z puppy too but honestly I am not very good at using it. As always, the babblers clues are the ones that get me through. I'll let you go back to it - I need to eat! Bye all.

9:35 pm

GW - I'm sorry too.... tomorrow is another day. I am not really focused on the puzzle since I'm not even half way through it and I know all of you are, so best I save my banter for another eve.....

9:36 pm

Hi Blaze. Sorry for delay in replying. I'd nipped off to nose round my forums and then was playing another word game. Was about to indulge in some yetisports when I remembered I was still signed in here. LOL.

9:36 pm

thanks for the little cub hug temple!!!!!! i love cub hugs!!!!

9:37 pm

Hey there Mama Bear. This puzzle looks like it has a ka-jillion words in it. How many do have so far?

9:37 pm

try a form of crying, past tense

9:38 pm

9:38 pm

Hi wisedoggy - only have 134... *hangs head in shame* hope the board is kinder to you!!!!

9:39 pm

MAMA, there is no shame in the game! Hold your head high!

9:40 pm

who's got this ec 6/21?

9:40 pm

Remember that just by playing you prove that you are better than most gameplayers that think games involve only moving sprites and explosions

9:40 pm

'night mamabear, have a nice evening.

9:40 pm

Thanks for the uplift GW!!!!!! *another bear hug for GW*

those ar5s and ar 7, 8 are kicking my ar 4/4!

9:43 pm

'Bye Mamabear. 'See' you later.

9:44 pm

LOL Blaze. I hope you enjoy the conference.

9:44 pm

KMJordan, I have that (one who rends), I need the OTHER te6/21 & the te7/32 right after it

ty jac - *SPLAT!!!!* * hits self with fish*

9:46 pm

ar8/40 is realted to the poison one. However, best described as ar4/4 plus more. Think 'bum 'n' past tense of filling one's face'.

9:47 pm

*related NOT realted. LOL.

got, it, jac. the site is really slow for me even after doing a cold boot. I want to get at least 50 more.

9:48 pm

nice clue jac!

9:48 pm

1st ar5/10 - the two-letter way of pluralising ar4/4.

9:49 pm

2nd ar5/10 - the one-letter way of pluralising ar4/4.

9:52 pm

ar5/12 has to do with gold. ' Attribute to a physical quantity obtained by division by area.'

9:55 pm

Well done, Temple Owl!

i mean all of the ar words....i am at 203...

9:58 pm

not afar, but ar5/10, then [ast tense

9:58 pm

DONE!! i never thought i'd say that today.

9:59 pm

What do you still need Temple Owl. Am here for a little while longer. We put the clocks forward an hour on Sunday morning over here, which nearly drove the cats mad re meal times. We compromised and fed them half an hour 'early'.

9:59 pm

Well done, Dog!

9:59 pm

Kudos anyway Temple Owl And a hearty thump on the back to congratulate Smeltzdog!

10:01 pm

Can I ask if there are any words at all that start with the Z ?

10:01 pm

gnubee - read back for my ar5 clues.

10:01 pm

two, wisedoggy, think metal

10:01 pm

yes 2 but I don't have them

10:02 pm

d'uh! thanks!

10:02 pm

Wisedoggy - yes, there are two 'z' words. Think of a light metal rather than a 'fan mag'.

10:02 pm

PLEASE, only 2 to go, does anyone have te6/21 & te7/32 that are together (#12 & #13 of the te's)

10:03 pm

te's are variants of the ta's with the same values

10:04 pm

te6/21 & 7/32 (its plural) - a Madagascan mammal similar to a hedgehog. Think 'decimal' and then a short word for a common playground.

thanks jacula...it's really hard without the stats when the puzzle is long - i couldn't begin to tell what i need - my strategy is now to look for the long words i;m missing...

10:05 pm

gnubee - the number that follows 9 + parks and *** dept. then plural for 7.

10:06 pm

Temple Owl - the stats are available at Babblers Anonymous. If you have the 'Friends of Babble' box on the right of your Babble screen you can click on the link there.

jacula - don't pros have a tool that ticks off the words as they get them?

10:08 pm

anyone got the first ta6/18?

10:08 pm

did you get it gnubee?

10:09 pm

Today's grid - 306 words. A-26, C-48, D-29, E-22, F-9, -2, I-4, N-15, O-3, R-46, S-30, T-52, W-18, Z-2. 4-letter words -87, 5 - 95, 6 - 79. 7-30. 8 -10, 9 -5.

10:12 pm

dr6/21 - plural of a dr5/12 - the dismal one.

ca8? ce8?

10:13 pm

thanks jacula

10:16 pm

ce 8 think sergical birth. havn't got ca8 also need a clue

10:17 pm

sorry about the spelling (surgical)

10:19 pm

ca8 is past tense of ca7 which is ca**(suitca**) + past tense of eat

10:21 pm

For another ca9, use Ishult's clue, different spelling (put an a between the c and the e)

ty lshultt

10:21 pm

Thanks lshult I didn't have that one yet.

10:22 pm

thanks Smeltzdog. Still don't have any 9's (or half of the 8's for that matter) clue would help.

10:23 pm

ca7 & 8 refer to living tissue that has died. Quite revolting really.

10:23 pm

ack, if anyone has the ar 6/21 and ar 5/12 i would appreciate it

10:27 pm

as9/60 - to make sure of. ca9/60 - type of birth named after Julius's arrival into the world, or, as Shakspeare put it, 'untimely ripped from mother's womb', or words to that effect. ca9/60 - a compound of your ca6/21 (something found in formula milk)

thanks jac - have been using your clues - have to go - site is way too slow, extra hour has given me too much energy & now i don't want to go to bed! but i have to make a trat for the office for tomorrow's holiday

10:30 pm

co9/66 - Mexican kitchens. re9/60 - add 'having filled your face' to re6/21 meaning to hold back or mentally behind.

10:30 pm

sorry to see you go Temple Owl

10:31 pm

Night T/Owl. Will be off myself soon.

10:32 pm

Leslie Ann - old world palms - clues have been posted earlier in log if you care to scroll back. Makes it quicker if you turn off the icons before doing so.

trying to get those worms before i go : ) what letter did they begin with?

10:34 pm

missing one ta4 and ta6

10:36 pm

ta6/18 & 7/28 are the worms.

10:36 pm

tr6/24 . . . hint?

10:37 pm

tr6/24 - think WWI, where the soldiers dug out.

10:37 pm

OK Jacula (BTW Hi. I haven't seen you for a while). I got all the 9 clues you posted except for the RE9. Could I have a bit more assistance on that one please? Thanks.

10:39 pm

Minski - do you have re6/21 meaning 'hold back' or 'mentally backward'? If so, just add the past tense of 'eat' to it.

10:40 pm

PAV - quite a few of those. Might help if you describe the ones you have.

10:41 pm

Thanks Jacula. Now I have all the 9s. Nowhere near finished and as soon as the Patriots finish winning I'm going to bed but I'll do what I can before that time arrives.

10:41 pm

is it just me?? i've had a number of disappearing words tonite--I enter them but later they're gone!

10:42 pm

Minski - probably time to resort to a2z then! Sleep well.x

10:42 pm

ac 7/32 anyone?

10:42 pm

Une - you're typing too fast again! LOL.

10:44 pm

ac7/32 - think botanical word (unacceptable on Babble) for 'maple' and then add past tense of 'eat'.

10:44 pm

this is what i have, and my connection is lame... ta 6 18 ta 7 28 ta 4 4 ta 6 21 ta 7 32 ta 4 4 ta 5 12 ta 5 10 ta 4 4 ta 4 4

10:44 pm

85 words and your clues are sometimes helpful. not too bad for a first time effort....will continue with this game and attempt to figure out your babblespeak

10:46 pm

PAV - you need one last ta6/18 - the Scottish skirt material one.

10:47 pm

bbnaz - anything you don't understand about the Babbleverse, just ask.

10:48 pm

Patriots win! It's 11:47pm and I'm about to turn into a pumpkin. Nighty-night everyone. Happy Halloween.

10:50 pm

PAV - the missing ta4/4, if it's the one above the Scottish one is the plural of what you find on made-up roads. Think 'Ta**s & feathers'.

10:50 pm

Night Minksi.

10:52 pm

Or even Minski.:-/

10:53 pm

93 now...humping for 100 before time runs out

10:54 pm

Well done Pav.

10:55 pm

94 words 5.2 1423 how in the world to explain what i don't really understand? is there more than one z word?

10:56 pm

There are 2 'z' words relating to a light metal. One is the plural of the other.

10:56 pm

Yay Pats! from a transplanted New Englander to Philadelphia. I'm just hanging in to 100 words (started at 11:20pm tonight) or the transport strike at midnight, whichever comes first...

10:57 pm

Just this once, I will repeat the short stats I posted a while ago to help non-pro Babblers... Today's grid - 306 words. A-26, C-48, D-29, E-22, F-9, -2, I-4, N-15, O-3, R-46, S-30, T-52, W-18, Z-2. 4-letter words -87, 5 - 95, 6 - 79. 7-30. 8 -10, 9 -5.

11:04 pm

Usually no prob on traffic, I need just about 30 min to commute

11:04 pm

Yes, bbnaz, this is addicting, but I usually only have time to get about 2/3 of the puzzle every day.

11:05 pm

I am down to my last 6 words and any assistance would greatly be appreciated! I need: the first Se 6/18, Se 5/14, Ta 6/21, Ta 7/32, the third Te 5/10 and the third Te 6/18. So close and yet so far away!!!!
