And we have an X to grind today!!!!!!
had 65 to go
c7/36
OMG....talk about beat the clock!!!! ty ty ty....I found the last word only seconds before time was up!!!!
show off!!!!
Great going, stillcrazy!
LOL
Morning all!
stillcrazy - that "show off" was meant for GW, not you!!
ty sprite and I know mama...I thought it was funny!
Excellent job, stillcrazy the tension was thick for a moment
Hi there Jacula....you are one I owe the thanks to
can I get a clue for the c7????? LOL
boy was it ever Grey Woulf! I was almost crying!
I am not a showoff!! (*balances drink on forehead*)
OMG - another monster.... 278 words!!!!!
*Steals GW's drink and finishes it*
That was how I felt the other night, stillcrazy, when I missed by one despite MAMA and everyone elses wonderful help and support
Now Sprite, no need to steal.. there's plenty to go around. would like a "rum & sprite"???? Malibu & sprite is a lovely combo I've found
Hey!!! Where'd my drink go? (*spies sprite across the room and wags finger at her*)
curious? Every time I work on a puzzle, I never see myself listed to find my end score. I'm usually looking when it closes, so I don't see my exact end number. Is this a glitch on me or does everyone see all who played except themselves?
awww sorry I wasn't here to help you out.
"...... still crazy..... after all these years....."
It takes a few minutes for the scores to fully tabulate, Stace. Wait about two minutes and then check back and you should be fine
But MAMA... it was the stealing that was so much fun! Should teach GreyWoulf to never let a drink unattended with me around ;)
you betcha mama and ever more still after that last game
stillcrazy, I agree, pity... but it was one of the most thrilling moments I have had in a long while. So it was all good :)
!?! How is balancing a drink on my forehead leaving it unattended?
"See MAMA, no hands!"
Ah, great, I found fish.
I'm so glad I got it last 5 seconds
GW I scored 2375............now on to today's puzzle...
stillcrazy - did you slay the dragon???? or only mame him?
oh-o - the dreaded x
I found fish too!!!!! I used the cork from the bottle as bait
slayed him dead...got them all!
good job oh faithful one, bbnaz!!!!
And lots of fruit as well. Healthy grid this is, notwithstanding the vermin.
hi all
hi CJ
Hi CJ!
I need to go to bed.......
Great job, bbnaz
thanks for all your help everyone!
A dripping wet, somewhat white cat just brushed against me. I guess it's snowing out. (The cat is actually grey!)
How sweet of your cat ;)
does anybody else want to kill that s in the corner so they can type in carpools?
MAMA - so do I harpjane - where are you that you have snow?
Montana
I am right with you, MAMABEAR!
My daughter lives in North Dakota - it's been snowing there all day.
Not too far...I'm in Colorado
harpjane... where abouts in MT? I'm in Wyoming (sheridan)
It won't last though. I think it's supposed to actually stick to the ground for a little while tomorrow, then melt.
hmm...777 with 59 words. Am I in over my head here? After playing about a game or two a week for several weeks now, my highest so far is 76 words.
dang... the whole region is here :-)
I meant kill the h.... sorry s - you didn't do anything wrong
Hamilton, halfway between Missoula and Salmon.
Angel buns!!!!!! hi ho!!!
BRRR....harpjane. COLD up there, eh?
Stace, you'll find more today, there are quite a few words in this monster. Good hunting!
Where is Sheridan WY Darleen?
mamabear, lol. Did you know I posted the full size pic on my website? its' on the blog (click "about" from the main page) enjoy!!!
I don't call it cold. I have entire outfits that I don't get to wear until it's below 0 degrees F.
stillcrazy, it's about 30 miles south of the Montana border so we'll probably see some snowflakes by morning.
Stace, don't get discouraged... it's really not about keeping score unless you make it that way --- I for one don't even bother looking at the rankings The most important thing is to have fun!!!
But then again, I AM having hot flashes these days!
harpjane I love your style sense. And me too. I have sweaters that haven't seen daylight for a couple of winters because of the drought
aha ok ty.....I'm only about 40 miles from Cheyenne
F7/44
Harpjane - did you by any chance know Vi and Art Bell from Hamilton? You live in a beautiful area!
Ah... Fort Collins? My hometown, btw.
wow you got it!
better you than me harpjane i like it here in the south, when we see snow everything closes
LOL, stillcrazy. Born and raised in FC... moved to Sheridan about 30 years or so ago. Still call Colorado home but my heart is now here.
GW - does this mean no clue on the c7?????
MAMA - you turning in soon?
dalmation-Don't think I know them. Yes, it's beautiful here!
GW - I better or there won't be any reason to GO to bed -
MAMA - it relates to decision making
LOL GreyWoulf... I did check the rankings today, for a change... isn't it great we are all on a shared first place here?
Sorry Mama, I just have the c4's
I know what you mean....I'm originally from MA....Have lived here now for 23 years.
you must have moved in about the time we moved out :-)
MAMA, for that C7, take your pick.
LOL probably!
gotta go. I have 26 four letter words, including the musical instrument that I play (Can you guess which one?)
that's ok harpjane - I was giving GW a hard time for his showing off earlier. now dang if I can get it from his clue!!!
sprite what you do at thanksgiving dinner
my brother still lives there along with a cousin. Hubby's family was from Loveland.
MAMA - I have to step away from the computer for now, not because I have to, but bec I ch**** to
ack. Angel buns and I need to go get some shut eye. Good luck all... see you in the A.M.
that's only 6
plural, mama, PLURAL.....
bbnaz, we don't have thanksgiving dinners in Holland, sorry!
wow small world for sure. My son just moved to Laramie WY not long ago
It is 6 when I do it, but 7 when he does.
stillcrazy, oops still here. My niece and her husband live there. She's now a nurse.
a huge dinner is a f**** and when you are done eating you have past tensed the word
OMG... the most frequent babble word is actually in this grid!!!
cool! Well I won't keep you any longer...you have a good night and sweet dreams.
stillcrazy... you too!
I think you mean the word I posted the length/value for, bbnaz? I found that, before I posted ;)
nevermind.........
most frequently used word on Babble??????
To all - I really am stepping away right now -- I may be back in a little, maybe not, so just in case - I raise my glass in salutations to a wonderful group of people - my fellow Babblers Good night to all and MAMA - Sleep Well, Sleep Tight *Hugs to all, big one for MAMA ;)* TTFN
Night Grey Woulf.....sleep well!
See you, GreyWoulf... it was a pleasure playing with you, as usual *hugs right back*
bye grey woulf
Yes MAMA, the most frequently used word on babble by far!
Good nite GW.... thanks! sleep well and sweet dreeeemmmmmzzzzzzzzzz *mmmmmwwwwwaaaaa*
sprite - i haven't been playing long enough to know what that is..... let me get it and then I will go to bed .... whatdoyasay????
Dear MAMA, unless you are so brilliant you never put in a non-existing or just-not-there word, babble will have told you the word a thousand times :)
lol sprite.... i would have never thought of that word
I am doing great in that department today, LOL. There is also a Winnie and a plural, and whenever I F7 I said H6!
you kiddin me???????? I have it emblazoned on my forehead!!!!! and oo.... uh-oh . I almost missed it!!! That is it for me... LOL SPRITE!!!!! Til tomorrow. or I guess I should say "later" since it already IS tomorrow. OOH tomorrow is gonna be a real BEAR for this BEAR!!! Thanks to all for the fun & company!!!! *Bear hugs to all* good nite - sweet dreeeemmmmmmzzzzzzzz ...as the poem says! (see my bio if you don't know what I mean)

f 7/44
*wanders in from work and has a look*
no 11 letter words.. i'm disappointed ;p
lol bodkins
I didn't think the list was posted yet
??? looking at the stats here
bodkins did you have a hard day at work?
goodnight and will be back later for more babbling....a new score to top too, at least a new personal score!
night bbnaz
no it was pretty easy.. (night at work) finished 2 hours before my official finish time
Why do most of my days start with: "Mam, the teacher said we had to take ..... to school today." "And why didn't you tell me yesterday?" "Oh, I forgot."
WTG bbnaz! Goodnight and sleep well.
sprite.. that sounds about right.. lol
sprite.. i'm so glad i don't have kids right now
"So where do I get an elephant suit at this time of morning... and a set of fairy wings... and 2 magic wands..."
while all I really want to do is babble! LOL
they grow on trees!! ;p
*goes into garden and checks trees... nope... nope... wonder if Holland grows that kind of trees...*
sprite have you found the money tree yet?
can make magic wands out of tinfoil.....make a star on a stick out of cardgoard and cover it with tinfoil
can make the wings roughly the same way and fasten with a belt
cardboard not the other
you're on your own with the elephant one
*deep sigh* Well, they are on their way with everything they needed... once more. Still crazy, you have one creative mind... kids too, I take it? ;)
LOL yes and all grown up now and on grandkids now
bit of a plural fest today i see.. 3 s's
arghh noo not grandkids.. the eldest turned 16 yesterday...
blink an eye bodkinz....it'll be here that fast
That must be wonderful, all the fun and not the responsibility you have for your own kids :) The elephant thing was solved with a rubber hose and a blanket, together with some cardboard ears. Oh my, I need a drink ;)
lol... my hat is off to the parents... i'm 20 and i don't ever think i'll be ready to have kids
rofl...how wonderful!!!! A little creative yourself! Grandkids are the best!
a drink? alkyhol? hmm oh.. hmmm i have a beer open here ;p
ok time for me to call it a night at 150 words. Have fun everyone and see you again soon.
good night stillcrazy
goodnight still crazy
Would some be kind enough to post one of the longer lists of letters and values? We sure do miss Brandy Jack when he is not around to help us out!
Falling asleep, so I'll say goodnight -- pleasant dreams!
does any one have the first letter list
night cybernan
Night, you sleepers, and for the rest: join me in the hunt. Bodkinz... I make it a rule never to have beer before breakfast, so I cannot... should not... oh my, what a day! Husband overslept (after being awakened by me, right) and started the day with: "What time is it then? What? But... what day is it then?"
Howdy doody Sprite and all... just a peek to see what I can do....
It is a nice grid, with lots of sound-words! After the already mentioned ones I also found A5/16 (that was a fright) and A5/14 (bless you).
sprite i don't know how you do it?
Blaze, join in! We have fish, fruits, vermin and lots of sound-words :)
Hello again, my friends I said I might be back and I am I shouldn't be, but I just can't go to bed with only 11 words
Just checked the log, looks like just about everyone from my side has turned in
GreyWoulf, I had a feeling you would :) CJ, there is only one way to hang in in such a family: see the fun of it all and keep laughing. Really :)
grey woulf i'm still here
Yeah, Blaze! Lots of fruit! It's a veritable fe 5/16!
BTW, CJ when I was your age I couldn't picture myself with kids either, have patience --- when the time is right it'll happen and you won't hesitate because it will all just flow
Hiya Blaze
Yeah, and after all the flowing you sit on the couch in the morning, after all the rest left the house, and you wonder how on earth did you get to be part of this madness ;)
grey woulf.... i love kids but i love giving them back to their parents too
then they grow up leave home and you breathe and they come back... with extras....LOL
ROFLOL!
lol blaze.... my parents refuse to be grandparents until they turn fifty
so true, sprite, but then just as quickly you wonder how you got by without the madness for so long
i was a grandparent at 37 it is way more fun... you have energy then.....
lol Blaze CJ, how do your parents plan to enforce that decision?
And that's the true... wouldn't want to miss them for the world. With madness and all. And when I dare to ask aloud how I came to have this family, my kids tell me they just are like me, so I guess I can't complain ;)
You and they need lots of gr 5/16
i think they will be ok with it anytime... want me to be a young adult and explore life before i have kids
Blaze, I tip my hat to you -- my daughter was born when I was 35, my key regret is that I don't have the stamina from when I was 25
CJ marriage helps too... two parents are needed in this madness.....
Amen, Blaze
blaze the "m" word is not even in my plans for the next 5-7 years
CJ then that fixes that..... just rent them once in a while...
CJ, where are you located?
That does look right...in print... I mean babysit and stuff like that.....
Isn't that true... I am so glad every day that I don't have to do it on my own. I am truly grateful I don't have to be a single mom. Well, some grid news as well: I found some biggies, and hey, the X is used quite a lot! A7/36, C7/36 x2, C7/44, C6/39 and H6/39, E7/56, R7/28, S7/36 and T7/48. (Perhaps some of those have been mentioned already, I thought I'd list what I found so far.)
grey woulf i'm in alabama
sprite, you've been busy!
Sprite and here I thought I was doing good with one 6 letter word.... LOL
blaze i have 3 god-children and at 7 yrs, 2yrs, and 10 months that all the birth control i need
I need the distraction, GreyWoulf ;)
CJ, a little too far away to let you borrow mine for a bit...but if you are ever going to be in the Lansdale, PA area be sure to let me know!
CJ ROFLOL I always say that Birth control pictures should not contain babies but really rough toddlers and teenagers.....LOL
ok i'm off to bed for a bit.. weekend starts here for me... 100 here.. will finish later :) byeee night :)
Good nite
blaze you have to be 1 on 1 with the 2yr old. she can keep you busy
I am still having fun over the E6/39-7/56. I wanted to use this prefix so badly I tried about everything and then something took... but in this word it isn't a prefix, it has nothing to do with "former" and the meaning is obscure: Of or relating to a xylem whose early development is away from the center and toward the periphery.
G'nite bodkins, sorry I didn't greet you when I came back
no worries :) still here but not using the grey matter.. last ciggy.. last slurp of beer... but no thinking :)
Sleep well, bodkinz!
night bodkinz
Lovely Sprite.... is that what you stand in when you get divorced......?? LOL
Bodkinz -- some would say that you have just described Nirvana :D
Guess so, Blaze, LOL!
sprite, whereas I have seen the term before in SF wargaming - specifically Warhammer 40K
Lithium.... Teen Spirit!
I keep seeing haggis and peace.....LOL
I think it is a beautiful word. And I really love to be rewarded for being stupidly naive. :D
Blaze, I keep seeing 'garage' :)
I want the bottom A to be an E
I second that motion.
tut tut.... now I get it....
lol
It's catching.
D7/36. Looks like there should be a D6 from the same word as well, but there isn't. Guess it is some funny plural of the D5/14, which in itself was a plural to me already.
I agree with you on that one, sprite
Something I really learned from babble: try anything, however unlikely it seems :)
That was what drew me to the game. I read about it in a circular for the Science Fiction Book Club. Apparently, the author Robin Hobb likes playing Babble and has found words to help describe scenes by monkey typing on grids. (She didn't use the term monkey typing, though)
I must bid farewell I will print the grid and be off for the week end... Have a great game... see you on Monday...
I really can imagine that. I feel it helps my creative writing too. And since I write fantasy, that is necessary, lol.
bye blaze great talking to you
Bye Blaze, have a great weekend! Will miss you :(
So long, Blaze sleep well and I'll be looking for you then
sprite, have your books made it over to the US?
Wish they had, GreyWoulf, I think they would do well there. But the translation is a problem. Too expensive, publishers don't want to take the risk. And I don't have enough time to do it myself, besides, I am not a native speaker and you can always tell.
I can add S4/5-5/12 to the list of sound words. Incredibly, how many of them are in this grid!
Sorry to hear that. Because I definitely am intrigued. It's always interesting when you read an author's work after you get to talk to the person. It gives you a very different perspective on the story, no matter what the genre. I'd offer to help you, but that would be a lie. My plate is too full just getting by right now. But if anything ever gets over here, please be sure to tell me!
I will, and thanks for the thought! We did some translating for the website. If you like, you could sneak a little preview on http://www.jirelle.nl/en/index .php (leave out the babble spaces)
I just bookmarked it. I will check it out tomorrow, too many words jumping off the grid right now. Although I am finding all the little ones, the 7's are eluding me. I have a c7/36, the e7 & d7 you pointed out, the f7, and that's it.
Morning all. Greywoulf...you're up late aren't you? Nice surprise!
The other C7s I have aren't too obvious. One refers to flatworms, the other is a plural for leader, think greek drama. T7 plural state ;) And R7 think colour or cheerful. Hope that helps you on your way :)
morning, jen maybe a little, when I get focussed I lose track of the clock
not seeing my crutch (the 2 letter breakdowns on babblers/anon. anyone with a clue? Don't think I missed it in the earlier posts did I? Where is our fearless leader BrandyJack?
morning jen
GW~ you're an hour ahead of me, and the only reason I play at this G^#$*# awful time is that I am blessed with working in a department that is VERY slow during nocs. Gee to babble and get paid for it... it's wonderful
Jen, I am a night owl (night wolf?), I tend to get no time on the computer except late bec I am playing with my daughter, so when I get the time to myself, I run with it. Thankfully I have a three day wekend so I can afford to splurge a little tonight (morning?)
excellent, belated hi to CJ also and the faithfuls Blaze, Sprite and Bod.... and anyone else babbling in the shadows.. ;-)
Morning/evening Babblers... :)
Hi there tbear!
mornin' tbear
Hi sprite...how's it going?
GreyWoulf.....love yr pic...they are beautiful creatures!
Thanks, tbear Love your pic too!
Going great, tbear. Nice grid! Hunt for fish, fruits, and especially for sound related words. I found another one! So far A5x2, E4 + 5, G4, H6, O4 x2, P4 + 5, S4 + 5. They either descripe a sound or are sounds that made it into words :)
sprite - got the flatworm, but I'm a little weak on my Greek drama
Thx Sprite...any help with the d5/14...seem to have tried every possible combination...obviously not tho!
The def is "1. One who undertook the expense of providing the chorus in ancient Greek drama. 2. The leader of a group or movement." And then plural. You probably have the R4/6 that is the ending of this one.
Thanks, now I've got it!
Tbear, wish I could show you;) And then the plural.
Found it....like you thought that WAS the plural...:)
until you check the def in the dictionary
Yes, I am right with GreyWoulf: not very strong on greek words atm.
It was only after checking the def that I realised the 7 was no verb :)
the cheat sheet is up on babblers anon
7s: Ap36 Ce36, Ch36, Ch44 De36 Es36, Ex56 Fe44 Ro28 Sa28, Sc44, Sc36 Te48
LOL @ cheat sheet! Wonderful word.
~:oP
great job on the 7's sprite I'm still wallowing in your wake
sprite~you are my idol. I got your pedestal out..polished it up nice and shiny, even added motion sensor spot lights, just step up!
Careful sprite, all that polish... you could slip and hurt yourself
LMAO. Sure... can't count the times I hit myself on the head. I just found 8 (!) words I couldn'd find for the last half hour, just by checking my list for forgotten plurals and singulars and such.
Polish... like Asimov pointed out, the only word that changes its pronunciation just by writing it capitalised.
I never noticed that before... and I call myself an Asimov fan!
It's in one of his Black Widower's stories, not in the sf-books. Perhaps that's why?
Most likely, most people are unaware of just how prolific a writer he was
Almost got the 7's, just that R and the S's to go
I read quite a lot of his work, but I will never think I read all :)
Growing up I considered the holy trinity of SF to be Asimov, Bradbury, and Clarke with Heinlein as their prophet
I still do.
Though Jules Verne deserves credit!
Yes, Verne was definitely key, as was H.G.Wells
Guess we wouldn't get bored if we had access to eachother's book shelves :)
Oh my!!! I just saw the clock -- it's 4:20 AM here!!! I should go to bed. The baby will be getting up in around 5 hours and I have to get up with her.
Go get some shuteye then, GreyWoulf. The little one will have no compassion whatsoever with your babble night :)
But first, I agree, prowling through your library sounds like it would be fun However, the library I would love to visit is renfield's. OMG, ren has a personal library of 10,000 books. I can't wven picture that many outside of a library!
Sleep well, and double ;)
Good night then, sprite. I do love our chats. (*hugs farewell regretfully*) And good night to everyone else, tbear, jen, CJ, and you too spatialbean, tho I didn't say hi to you (sorry) With luck I will be back tonight to finish (*hugs to all who want one*) TTFN
night GW...
*hugs the Woulf right back*
BYE GW
is anyone still awake?
sprite are you still here?
hi cj...still plugging away..
Half and half, CJ, busy doing other things but checking back at the log at times. Can I help you?
Can anyone help me to get to the word list on Babblers anon Please
http://p105.ezboard.com/fbabbl ersanonymousfrm2.showMessage?t opicID=6.topic You need to erase the spaces in the link that babble puts there.
I am gone, with 278 words / 4.71 / 3329 points for today. Bye all and happy hunting.
I fell such a "dumb dora" next to all you scholarly people!!
oops!! can't type either! sigh
hey jude... me too! I've been at this 3 hours and still looking for 105 words. It gives us something to work toward I suppose!
maybe Jen, but my age should help as I sit in my rocking chair!!
well I'd sit in a rocking chair if I had one!
giggle~~~am shipping mine straight to you via horse and wagon
is it me? just logged on and cant see any 'statistics' for today other than number of words
could you send me a nice foot massager too while you're at it, maybe some new glasses, because I'm blind as a bat using the ones I have now!
dee~ hit f5..
davetins and deeha - click on babblers anon in friends of babble box at upper right for easy access to stats
It will take awhile, while I seek out your requests
if there's one thing I have, it's time and patience...Judi meanwhile I'll just continue rocking myself without the rocker. (looks a bit odd but I'm alone so I think it's ok)
I won't tell anyone Jan
great, you're a pal Judi!
Thanks for that Broll. I have never 'visited' that before. You have introduced me to an interesting new bit!
broll, got to the site but can't find stats??? Help please
click on general, then stats
dave... under general then stats
Good morning, everyone. I see our canine and feline devotees are represented in this grid, and the anglers aren't forgotten either!
morning Haz~ how are you?
Good Morning!
hey Poo's mom!
Good morning, Jen, I'm fine. I'm determined to restrict myself with babble today and get some housework done instead, so I'm having a quick stab at it.
I admire your determination...good luck with that ;-)!
Hey Jen! I'm afraid to look at my standings...never finished yesterday - Poo got accepted to Clarion Univ. and we went out to celebrate :)
I'm still sitting here, though.... I've got 101 words so far and I'm allowing myself another few, then it's time to do battle with the dust.
Congratulations to Poo! Does that mean she'll be moving away from home?
Haz - just an hour and a half distance. Can't be too far away from her beloved felines!
Then it'll be just me and Babble LOL
That's nice that she's still fairly close. My younger daughter started Edinburgh University this September and she's either a plane or boat journey away.
where's Clarion, PA?
Clarion is SE of Erie/NE of Pittsburgh
how exciting for you both... a baby bird leaving the nest...aww
We'll see how brave I am come next fall! LOL And then I'll be on my own in Babbleland
Be warned Poo's mum - the amount of 'stuff' students need to take with them is amazing! I kept preaching that when I started university all I had was one suitcase with me, but it fell on deaf ears.
I know - so much to think about! I've been told the fun really starts now... scholarships, financial aid etc.
Ah yes, the cost of it all!
Today's puzzle is making me hungry!
Poo's mum sat down to a fe5/16. There were oa4/4, pork ch5/16 and pe 4/5 with a dessert of pe5/12 and pe5/16. All washed down by so4/5 water.
LOL Haz ~ don't forget the aged ho4/6!
Don't forget the yummy ta 5/12
That's a new way of describing beer!
none of this would have been possible if i hadn't harvested my cr5/14
But now you can sit on your po5/16 and watch the world go by. I, meanwhile, am going to devote myself to the rest of the housework and to exercising the dog. See you all later.
Bye Haz!
morning all
Mornin' Cathy!
i do like these big puzzles, but don't really have time to do them completely...!
Hi all: loved the first A word today, my reaction exactly when I saw it was another biggie. I quite like them but they are taking huge chunks of my life(and sanity) lol
mu... my point exactly! have had to exercise some - yikes - self control in the evenings and spend time with my family!
LOL I was good yesterday and didn't babble during work....
poo - if i have a few mins at lunch i will do it, or very occasionally i will use it for 'thinking' time..... !
Fortunely cathy I don't really have that problem as my lot are all grown up, but I do have to fight my son for his computer in the evening - so try do do as much as I can before he gets home. Husband loves TV so we are mainly content with our pastimes
I try to get on there during lunch... depends on who's lurking around me in the office. It is educational ~ we're learning - and using - lots of new words!
lol poo.... i agree!
And we're never to old to learn. I got a shock about how few I new (at my age) when I found this site.
Mu I can relate to that!
well, if this puzzle is anything to go by, i still haven't learnt much!
Poo's Mum; Life is one long learning curve isn't it
i wish they would take 'fest' as a word!
All is puzzle does is make me hungry Cathy! Yes, Mu ~ got to keep our minds active
lol poo
good morning-- after yesterday's grid and today's grid, you'd think "aaargh" would be a legit word.
joelgee drop one vowel
joelgee, just drop a vowel
funny.
sh*t! You weren't kidding. I won't use that line again today. My apologies.
Answer B: Drop which vowel?
Mornin' all! Just startedand joelgee was kind enough to give my first word.
That has given me the best giggle of the week joelgee
Another big one. Only have half an hour .......... ouch
LOL Joel!!! On that note, I must get ready for work. See you all later!
these may be famous last words, but while the word count approaches yesterday's, I don't think it's gonna be as gruesome. No 8,9,or 11 letter words.
Joelgee, I'm waiting for the rest of the words. See if you can sneak them in. That 1st one was very subtle.
gramma-- don't hold your breath.
ty for the clue but I can't find it
look harder.
cfeppaxo! wow! it was right there in front of me. doh
told you.
no1 likes a told-ya-so.
Found 3 fish so far. Any more?
morning again, loving the log, you guys had me in stiches. Gramma, I saw 2 fish... what are the beginning letters please?
Morning from Atlanta. Great puzzle. I've found over half without using hints...That's good for my frazzled brain.
Sorry everyone, but can someone tell me how many words/points there are today, my PC is playing up and won't show me the full log. Thank you in advance.
ga, ca, co fish. Hey munner. I've been thinking of you and hoping all was well. I hadn't seen you on the log and was worried
278
gramma, must learn the meanings of the words I monkey type. Hmmmm...so that's a fish? ok!
there is an ro fish too that is also a beetle
jenwould, you probably know this; but, if you hit the ? in your word list, it gives you the definition
Ho hum, again I have learned something new. ty
yes I know, I'm always up against the clock though, don't want to mess with the learning aspect or anything...oh no, would rather get points, and gray out the boxes. crazy I know.
jenwould, I have to look it up. Even if I won't remember it the next day.
I do the combo. When I'm knocking out words, I just knock'em out. Later, when I'm looking down the word list to fill in holes, I'll look up the ones that I have no idea about or are surprising in some way--like they look like they come from no known language.
Hi all! Only 130 or so to go - any help with these 7s: Ch 36, Es 36, and all 3 S's Got all the others
amanda, no idea...but can't wait to get the clues myself!
looks like im gonna have another swamped day here today...hence, minimal time for babbling... TGIF!!
I've got all the same 7s as you AManda, sorry!
ch7/36-- makes a selection
Oh *!?$%§ - I hate it when I miss the obvious ones!
amanadacath-- it is a windy word.
there is really another fish - but not accepted - esox - a pike
Aha! You mean windy, not windy! Tried to make Chicago fit, but it wouldn't work
yeah. Not windy, like in Chi, but windy like in serpentine.
It never ceases to amaze me what kind of ridiculous words the English language holds in store for us! Just put in an s5/16 that I wa sure wouldn't work, and whaddaya know...
morning all amanda cath, if that is an sc5/16 dont forget to make it plural.
the es/36 grows off one of the fishes
Thanks, Atalante - didn't know you could have that without a ment
nor me till a few minutes ago!
you only need a ment if you've been eating garlic. Don't forget to pluralize.
good morning to you early (for me) babblers. and now to attempt to better yesterday's 150 word effort!
you go, bbnaz!
never forget to pluralise!
tyvm joel........i imagine it will once again come down to the wire...........but that is some of the fun!
Yeah. Fun. Like poking needles in your eyeballs.
ahhh but when they are crossed, it is harder to hit the pupils!
But that's the challenge, like finding the last few words.
You just have to keep poking around, 'til you get 'em.
then when you take a sip, you sprout like a fountain
Then it gets all over your monitor and you have to find something to clean it up and you can't find anything so you use your shirt. Then you rip the shirt and you have a wet monitor and a ripped shirt so you go to find something else to wear and you trip over the dictionary. Babbling can be hazardous to your health.
Joelgee....wish i was there to see that...rofl
sadist
Moi!
tu
Yeah, you start thinking "Horace and Oprah moxed their shoops" makes perfect sense....why doesn't Babble think so?
okay, amandacath. It's okay to use sentences like that here, but outside the Babbleverse ...
Pero que me dices....soy una anjelita...me lo dijo mi madre...
My friends keep saying that too. Funny....
okay, amandacath. Um. Does anybody see these friends besides you?
tbear is proving that she's a cunning linguist.
Solo los domingos
No speako spanisho
joelgee, I came back just in time for your smut talk.
The friends others see are the ones who tell me I can't say things like that. The other ones understand me perfectly!
seulement francais, un peux.
Ok...back to frenching
smut talk? Gramma, whatever do you mean? I was complimenting tbear on her multilingual accomplishments.
Clean it up you guys...my husband won't be home till noon
maybe it's just me?? minds of a feather gutter together. Isn't that how the expression goes?
Gramma, I read back and see only innocent comments. If any smut is here, where could it be coming from, hmmmm?
Good morning, Gramma. I have never heard that phrase before but I'm adding it to my lexicon of smart-aleck starting...now.
I may not be young but I'm not dead
minds of a feather.......all right Gramma, it is going into my repartee also!
Hey everyone :)
scoutsmom-- My, has Scout sprouted, and apparently generated many male hormones!
Miyavi...not ICT again...lol
hey, miyavi.
Hey miyavi, wot u been up 2 2day...?
Yes; i've noticed lately she's been looking more and more like mtnjock. Kind of creepy, but the docs say it's perfectly normal...
okay, break to take chilluns to school. at 60 so have hope for a good score today.....
same docs as in "Rosemary's Baby"?
later, bbnaz
Good morning everyone!! How are all of you today?
Eh...school trip to some kind of virtual rainforest...thing. Two hundred years of bearded men talking about the mating habits of monkeys. And you?
same.
Hey jen! it's a fun 1 today
Those are the guys, Joelgee! How did you know?
I was really hoping for a smaller one today! But oh well. And the mating habits of monkeys sounds more interesting than the household chores I've had to deal with already today! :)
wild guess
Hi ho. Hi ho. It's off to work we go. . . 117 left. On the flipside.
Not really Jen...they went into a painful amount of detail
joelgee,ur on fine form today....thanks for making me laff...now make dealing with the washing funny
tbear-- Everybody has limits.
Ah the joys of useless information! Maybe that's why I got out of teaching....
joelgee, are you outta here?
Oh well was worth a try...see you later guys
Bye tbear
Yeah. I should be, but I keep scanning for just one more word.
okay. later. bearded men. rainforest. mating monkeys. sounds highly allegorical.
Well check in later. I'll still be sitting here on my fat ar** staring at this grid.
Useless information is so much fun, though! Miyavi, did you get the "difference between chimps and bonobos" spiel? I always enjoy that one - gives me hope that we humans might also one day evolve into happy creatures.
luckily we didn't, but the subject of baboon arousal was explained in very graphic detail
good morning. how many words today it's going to be a great weekend and my b-day is on monday....psyched i am.
Eeewww, they're the ones with the big red butts, right? That one can make you queasy...
Hey, Tban - mine too! Party's tomorrow - wanna come?

Hey Tban!! My birthday is on Wednesday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL SCORPIOS!!!!!
Whoever can make it to Hamburg by Sat. nite is welcome!
My B/D is the 16th and bet I am the oldest!
ahh hamburg...i know i should know where that is but i'm drawing a blank right now
i'll be 26 on monday
I'm old enough. LOL I think this will be my last one. Firmly in the 30s and not going anywhere.
lol at jen
you are just babies!!!
Happy, happy to all of us. I started the month with mine. All saints day...my family finds that ironic.
i'm sure ur a saint through and through gramma
Germany. Judi - happy not to take that bet. My time to be the oldest is getting closer than I'd like :-)
With 185 under my belt, I guess I'll head to the gym now. Talk to guys later!
Have a good one Jen
by jen
Hey all

See ya jen. I had my aerobic work out already...coffee and cigs-get's the old heart rate right up there
Howdy, everyone!
Done! 278 / 3329 . not too many funcky words today :)
Hey Deutsch :)
Howdy, back atcha
Hello ToeSockMonkey
congrats begrery.....just starting, 71 so far...
there shouldnt be a c in funky, that word looks dangerously odd.
Tban, we hate begrery. How can any1 finish this thing?
Yep, Miyavi, bad call on the teacher's part - or whoever organized it. Bergery - any clues on the s 7's? I'm soon going to have to resort to a2z, and I really hate it when that happens.
Begrery is done, and I'm just starting. LOL Hi gramma Miyavi, manskirt and handyman are doing a project on a ladder on Saturday. Hope he doesn't wear his skirt! Plus, they both will be right outside my window! ewww
The herd is here! :)
I'm a big fan of that particular spelling
I like Zebras... baby ones are SO cute
Deutsch...close your eyes and think of England :)
nose to the gridstone. chat later...must babble now...
Hi TSM! Lola tells me zebras bark, so here's barking (pleasantly) at you!
ROFL! They bark? How fun.... well um... woof? back? A happy to see you yip? lol
Amanda, tell me about it...though not as bad as the time they hauled us all into assembly for a 'friendly' talk on sex. Urgh...
Hail to the Queen!
No way! Just monkey-typed the sa7/28 - what the funck is that supposed to be?
Oh Miyavi, I'm so sorry. Girls and boys all together in a huge room, geeky teacher with sweat-stained armpits on stage stuttering into a microphone ... I see it plainly. The things teenagers are expected to put up with!
sa7/28 - put sa in front of your ro5/10 sc7/44 - had to use a2z to get this one. doesnt give definition, start on the right side of the grid and end up on the left bottom. sc7/36- noun meaning the crisp rustle of silc or similar fabric
Wow... my leg is twitching... what do you think that means?
gramma, i am sorry. please dont hate me. pleeeeeaaaase.
morning all. this pic says it all.... was up until 12:45am being a chatting babbler!!!! yawwwwnnnnnn!!!!!! How's everyone???? It's an absolutely beautiful day here in sunny Chicago. A "happy leaf" day!!!!

only 248 to go!
oh, I give up. Time to go to a2z
Deu - i'm with you on that. I have 240 to find still
begrery, I don't really hate you; I'm just a wee bit jealous. Appreciate your clues; but, sc 7's are still evading me
Afternoon all
How do, Bubbles?
Hi bubbles!

Hi bobsta, 194 to go and I swear I'm making up words! lol Hi hong kong. I remember the cartoon!
Quite well,ty
Finally got the sc7's, but only after slogging through the list at a2z: sc7/44 - there's a man's name in the middle sc7/36 - plural of 6/24, take one of the sc5/14s and stick another letter in it
hi babe, how you doing? I've got 130 to go.

Glad to help. I'm stuck at 182, off to the stats to squeeze the rest out.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm nailin' the 4 & 5 letter words but I just can't get any thing else!PLEASE HELP I AM SO DESPAIRATE):PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
chief, remember to use your indoor voice. Now what specifically are you looking for? Do you have a co 4 10? Look for it and make it past tense for a co 6
Whoa, slow down chief! Look for typical pre- and suffixes, don't forget to pluralize and past-tense-ize, use different first letters ....
G morning. Could someone give me a clue for ANYTHING that has an X in it? I need to get over a hurdle. Then I am heading to a funeral where I will play the h4.
co 4 10 think cable
Thanks Deutsch!
co 4/10 think trying to get your toddler to eat vegetables :-)
Good one! Maybe getting an X will change my outlook on life? Later.
yw chief!
Thanks Deutsch, had missed that one. For another x-word: Hope the person you're playing the h4/5 for wasn't a4/10.
good one, amandacath!
No, I'm pretty sure it was old age.
I aim to please!
X words: here's a few c/4/10 cable or persuade (and past participle) h/4/10 fool (and past participle) m/4/10 burnt wad used in alternative medicine to cauterize (finally my old anthro courses pay off!)
harpjane- xitll looking for x words...how 'bout de5...think, getting sober.

OK. I'm not stuck anymore. 60 words. 700 points. Off to work/play (get it?).

And the plural, mtnjock . .
thanks, torgone!
Just found another x-word. No idea what it means, but sounds like what the moon does, or rather did.
I am sure it was mentioned before but how many words today?
278, jen. Anybody got the ra6/24? I can't seem to sqeeze it out
I'm brand new to this, any way to find out how everyone's doing? or the target score?
How about a tw letter clue, amandacath?
thanks you're a doll!
I came to a new realization
assasin, go to babblers annon to the rigiht in the box, click general, click stats
Enlighten us, ToSoMo.
Yes, TSM?
First, tell me the difference between "dork", "nerd", and "dweeb"
thanks Deutsch, but I don't see that...do you need pro for it?
Because if not all, I am at least one of them! lol
Welcome to the club, tsm!
Assasin, you don't need pro. Look to the right of the screen in the friends of babble box. Look to the bottom of the box. babblers annon is right there. Free to anyone!
assa... it's listed in the 'friends of babble' box to the right. nope you dont need pro
TSM! LOL I am a dweeb, who is sometimes a dork who used to date nerds!
click 'babbler anonymous' when there go to general and click todays date for lists
wow! thanks alot guys..
Nerdy girls are cool.
ur welcome assain, we're a friendly bunch ;)
I aspire to be a nerd, but I'm not there yet.
Yes, we like to think so, torgone. I'm still not getting anywhere with the ra6/24 ....???
don't have it, amandacath!
Jen83 and Ginger... you out there?
Morining all!!!!
ra6/24 picks up radar signal. Houston has a stadium called the Astro****
Hi shroeder!
Resorted to a2z, couldn't stand the suspense. Believe it or not, it's a nerdy word. Or cool, if you're a nerd, I suppose.
thanks, Gwen
Hello everyone! How's the Babbling today?
Hi DirtBikeGirl, as exciting as always.
A wondrous wealth of word wrangling.
Hi dirtbikegirl. I still have 140 to go
Schroeder - Cute puppy pic
Wow Torgone, you outdid yourself!
Toes- I'm here! I'm getting aggravated with the h 4/10 and the c 4/10 with the x in them. Can't find them. HELP!!! How was your bonus? Pretty lame, right. It is better than nothing though. How may today?
ginger1: the c with the x is the short word for aerial cable
for h, think of Piltdown, or Hitler Diaries
The ho 4/10 is when a false alarm is given.
need help on the te7
Ginger - the C 4/10 word is also another word for persuade.
Literally, an alliterative litany of lively lexiconography.
the h is a 'fake'
Ty DirtBikeGirl, he's my little sweetie
Lexiconography???? OK, gotta go look that one up now!
Sorry, lexicography.
Torgone, say that in your icon''s voice and I'm yours!
Schroeder - is he a Dachsund or Rottie? Can't tell from the pic... I have 2 Rottie's myself and they are so sweet!
Torgone - Wouldn't have gotten lexicography either :-) Off to find the def...
He's a mini Dachsund. Only 4 months old. I have had Rotties and other big ones in the past, decided to try something new.
DIRTBIKEGIRL-Good hint. Thanks
what's his name shroedr? we had one just like that when i was growing up named 'Herbie'
Bobsta-thanks but I did not know what an aerial cable was:)
was a really cool dog! :)
Ginger - now build on that to get your C6/39
DIRTBIKEGIRL-Thanks again!!:)
no probs ginger1 :)
216 words left to find!? No! :( Well, I am off to lunch. See ya in a bit... I want a chocolate shake lol :)
Happy lunching, ToSoMo.
TBug - My husband has a wierd sense of humor, the pups name is Adolph and the other Dachsund we have is named Eva.....
Toe bring me back one please.....
loved the clue piltdown Vicuna.......
Hi everyone. Looking for sc 7/44. Any clues?
Torgone - Aha, lexicography! So how's this for my own little stab at alliteration... Babblers - A brilliant bunch of brain bashers. OK, that took me entirely too long to come up with. For all future alliterations, I defer to you oh Torgone, The Great Alliterator.
Hi. I'm back to Babble for a bit. How's tricks?
Anybody saying a5/16?
Hey, Joelgee, stumped by the sc 7 44. do you have a clue for it?
Hi Schroeder. I have a 3 yr old long haired mini dachsund best dog I've ever owned
a 5 16, a 5 16 a 5 16!
Deutsh, Deutsch, Deutsh. Does she say hello? Does she say "Glad you're still alive?" Does she say "How ya doin'"? No! Gotta clue? No. Not yet, mein freunde
You are so right, Joelgee. *backs up, starts again* Howdy, Joelgee! How ya doing? Have you recovered from yesterday's shenanigans?
Gracias, Girl. I'm gleefully grateful, gloriously gratified, and gratingly garrulous.
But she also makes me laugh, so there you go. I was around for a bit this. a.m. Whacked out the words that jumped in my face. Now I'm back to stare at the grid 'til my eyeballs bleed.
(schocked look) Deutsch! what happened to the sweet babbler that I've come to adore?!!! by the way, good morning!
Well, I'm fine, Deutsh. Yourself?
Hi smaller, what's black and white and red all over?
sun-tanned zebra?
embarrassed zebra?
you when you blush?
communist zebra?
Yup, smaller, joelgee. I promise to make amends for my errant ways!
santa zebra?
zebra claus?
deutsch-- soon as I get the sc7, I'll holler.
*LOL at Joelgee's answers*
i'm gonna try and post, been on for awhile log still says 1025...hi if anyone is there...refresh not working..
joelgee, grid. ...focus on the grid.... good boy
Thanks, Joelgee! (((xx)))
A zebra with an incredibly gross fungal infection? A zebra with the heartbreak of psoriosis(sp?)?
Good morning, Baggo. *looks sideways to Joelgee* How are you this fine day? *nervously looks at smaller* *smiles*
Hi everyone. Hope you`re all well today :)
hiya deutsch...my computer is really strange today...i thought no one was out there, have been refreshing...and then i post and poof...you've all been there...odd odd odd...
Bonjour, baggo.

scarydeb - my 6 year old is the best watch dog ever!! The pup is still only a beetle killer
Hi Lotti Baggo, I dropped my mouse last night and couldn't get the left button to work. Finally banged on the desk in frustration and now it works. Odd, indeed!
imagine that lotti and torgone showing up together...8-)
Only physical Baggo. My meds are upped yay!! Must go.See ya all later.
schroeder what a great looking puppy is he/she yours?
Well, baggo, now that you ask. Would you happen to have the sc 7 44?
Hi all! Wow, got a big one today...
yep...there is a man's name in the middle and an h on the end...man's name rhymes with greg...because as it the norm with babble no def...
may i have a clue for the de 6/27 please....thank you
(((((baggo))))) Thanks! Joelgee, did you get that?
well i found it...it's gaelic for scraw...if that helps anyone
Thanks Baggo! I needed that one too!
tban to take away from something..(de6)
Yes baggo he's my little man!!!
oh. gaelic for scraw. sure. *mutters something unintelligible*
joel i knew that you used that word daily...lol
Scraw is the old country word for sods of earth, especially those sods which were traditionally placed atop house timbers under the layers of thatch for additional waterproofing and insulation.
gaelic for scraw is in there, but casted is unacceptable... go figure.
Why yes, just the other day I was talking with my handy man about scraw and the roof.
cadfan-- you want a real laugh, try entering "fest"
Hmmm Joelgee...quick trip to the dictionary?
that's between me an my dictionary.
I know! casted I can see. It's present and past at the same time, but fest?
After Baggo's clue I had to monkey type it, so thank you Joelgee for your def!
That helped?
Sorry people I'm going to say a word.De6/27 is detach.Sorry!
Why Chiefexec? Why? ***runs sobbing into the other room***
*puts sarcasm hat on* that was helpful and productive
what a dummy i am...didn't even see that one...
Look what you've caused, chief! Oh, the shame! *turns away to look for DBG*
I was just trying to help!
thank you. very helpful. now please don't put words in the log again!
thanks baggo...
I won't do it again!Just so many people were puzzled!
BTW, Atalante, you're looking lovely.
ok here are the 7's ap7/36 to show up (pl of 6) ce7/36 favorite babble flatworm ch7/36 opt or picks selects ch7/44 One who undertook the expense of providing the chorus in ancient Greek drama. de7/36 the populace, or de(guy with the 10 commandments) es7/36 A steep slope or cliff ex7/56 divorcee of the st louis monument fe7/44 ate a huge meal ro7/28 flower + past tense of eat sa7/28 An inlet of the northeast Aegean Sea indenting northwest European Turkey north of Gallipoli. Thanks baggo!
Canterbury really is wonderful - I love living here!
baggo-- what a charitable thing to do. And congrats on the ER thing. YAY!
i'm convinced the the first two do's don't exist....no one can convince me otherwise
ty joel!!! thought it just might help!!
***returning to room wiping eyes.*** Thanks Deutsch! *** Sits demurely at desk and types in de 6/27*** So...anyone got the Haddock?
Tban - what value do they have?
ok tban...but you're gonna be grabbin for the fish when you find them!!
no...but i would walk a mile for a calomel
they rhyme with the thing you sail in, a fable animal...
ok baggo i'm convinced....i can't believe i tried every combination but that one.....slapping myself on the head...i was so absolutely sure
back in a bit....gotta do the lunch thing...8-/
***tosses tban the haddock from dbg****
uh thanks
Hello??? Hello??? Did everyone leave and not tell me, or is my comp. acting up?
dbg-- deep breaths. I'm going over my word printout and still trying to figure out scraw. Go to your happy place.
How did you do that! That's so cool baggo!
peek-a-boo dirtbikegirl
Whew! Thanks Joelgee! Just for that I'm gonna give you another clue on the Scraw. You have the one that Baggo gave you earlier, now, the middle part is a guys name. S - guys name - letter Baggo says it ends with. Now I'm off to the Happy Place...
DBG, I think we were just working on the 7's. got 'em baggo. Wait, is that you, baggo? Lovely!
Only 2 words in ref to the lone star state correct?
guy's name is short for theodore?
That's all I have TSM
Joel, it rhymes with greg but not spelled like greg
Deu - thanks ;)
No, Joelgee, go down.
*lightbulb goes on*
baggo - thanks a million for 7 letter word list and clues!
Good Afternoon everyone
dbg-- multi-thanks.
ok at the risk of great embarrassment (not only for what i'm going to ask next but my terrible spelling) what is dbg?
My initials...
DirtBikeGirl for lazy people
oh i feel retarded...
doing the happy dance for the clues
Hi Doll, how are you?
well if you are anything like my daughter with down syndrome, you are bloody brilliant tban.............
Tban - don't worry about it! I was the one who had to go and choose a long name.
why cant "shoop" be a word? :(
I tried it too, TSM. The unfairness of it all! lol
won't ask any more stupid questions but what monument in saint louis got married, am i supposed to know gaelic and the crisp rustle of silk?
shoop shoop shangalang ding dong
Seriously..... shoop is a word! A sound affect too!
TSM: I know! There's a whole song about it!
I guess shoop isnt a word. I looked it up. But I still like it! Say it out load and it will make you smile! SHOOP!
TSM.... i vote for shoop too! is babble democratic?
I'm Deutsch and you and btw I too vote for shoop
ROFL at Scout and Smaller
OK guys... I think we need to throw out that H in the bottom right hand corner so we can have carpools... what do ya say????
*gets gitty* We should write an email to the babble people. The forces above....
actually, mamabear, I do believe we'd have carpoos
that would eliminate alot of words how about a tile that changes from h to l every few minutes or something
But then we wouldn't have Winnie and family..
oooh! A wildcard tile!! I like it!!
Carpoos sounds like what Scout does on long trips.
I stand corrected -- we need to replace the H with an L. how ya doin joelgee?
Letters that change? that's just crazy talk! lol
crazy talk here?? never
yeah. mama don't 'low no crazy talk around here.
Wow you people really take me seriously.... never met anyone who did. this is a first for ME!!!!!
it'd be interesting though don't you think.. who can i make that suggestion to?
hello momma.........and sometimes the commute is full of carpoos
LOL Mamabear!
mamabear-- get over it.
is it possible that we could also choose our own letters every once in a while...cause i'd much rather have another more useful letter instead of x...and how about the arrangement can we shake like boggle
all you have to do, tban, is pick up your computer and give it a couple shakes. That'll take care of it.
Or shuffle...like a mis-deal.
I've managed to use the X four times within words. Anybody use it more than that?
lol joel....with my luck it'll fall and all the letters will spill everywhere then what'll i do
i used 'x' in 5 words
i'd say boat
8 words with x for me so far.....
If I count correctly, I've used the x 12 times.
more than 5 too
hello everyone... so shake the monitor or the tower?
Wow, I'll keep looking. Thanks all :)
Brandyjack has x used 15 times
i've got 11 so far and i'm still twying to figure out the ex's
Howdy, Niamh. Feeling better?
8 x words so far. Working on ninth
Niamh: Just shake your head violently until you're seeing double, then you'll get twice as many words.
thanks, mab!
a bit... I'll be back to normal by tomorrow... thank you!
Just in time for the weekend!
ok... but if I start shaking and the letters fall out, that's a bad sign right?
" Brandyjack has x used 15 times " show off....;)
ok joelgee..... i'm better now.
lol
if the letters fall out, you just put'em in your floppy drive. It's not used for much else these days.
A floppy drive, I barely remember those! lol
Thank goodness, mamabear. I was getting the ice water ready.
anyone has de6/27? ho 6/24? thanks.
don't have one i'm afraid...all i have is the cd-rom and well i don't use that much at work either...secretly think it doesn't really work either
hmmmmm.... polar bears LIKE ice water.... bring it on!
ho6 is an x word building on ho4.
oh no not the oo's again...damn i should have written those down
Question! ------------ the clue for ce 7/36 got me all confused. What does "favorite babble flatworm" mean?
walnut when you separate something from another you de**** it
oh nm those weren't bad at all
bbnax: wow. can't believe I missed that one... my eyes must be going ....
oo4 is the most common of babble words by far. I see it at least 200 times every day.
i missed it too walnut....after a while i think the lette just start to swim around like fish
mab: That one is ho6/39 - I got that one. Didn't get the ho6/24 though.. unless thats an x word also?
TSM, it's that ce word that crops up now and again. I only remember it's a flatwork. google should help you find it, I think.
tsm-- i think that word shows up freqently. refers to a flatworm. can't recall it either offhand, but I googled flatworm once and got it. I'll have to google again
AGAIN! Why isn't DEXA a word? Did you know that dexa is a kind of scan.... it's also know as a bone density test.
maybe babble doesn't know about it yet TSM
yes, but Dexa is an acronym...
deu and joel....thank you beyond words
Sorry, I don't have the other ho6 yet.
that is correct but.... :P lol
mab... lol, me too!
Oh I'm with you ToeSockMonkey!
Hi, everyone - As though we haven't seen plenty of other acronyms in Babble. I've given up trying to understand why some words are allowed and otheres not.
cute icon, smaller!!
I agree... cute picture
when I get stuck I try using my dictionary but it has tons of words that babble won't allow... very frustrating! I concur ;P
You'll shout ho6 when you get it!
Thanks Haz...that was good.
LOL< indeed I did Haz1558! Thanks!
thanks mamabear and tsm!
yippeeskippee for me thanks!
hey bbnaz!!!! how are you today???? I'm a weeeee bit tired after the babble marathon last nite!!!!! But it was worth it!!
happy to be improving! how come it won't take my ce7 flatworm word?
finally.. thanks haz!
your computer obviously doesn't want a worm in it.
You're all welcome!
3 more! This will be the puzzle with the most words that I have ever finished! anyways, if you'd like to help accomplish my dreams, I'd love a clue for: aa5, ps5, or st6?!?
nyuk nyuk nyuk so did yours?
BB, what does the grid say about the ce word?
Walnut- aa - a cry of frustration
not a valid word....is there another one than that one?
evening ladies and germs.
bbnaz - different last letter
haz: aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa5555555555555 55555!!!!!!
Exactly!
Hi Dachef, BB what torgone said.
hi dachef!!!! bbnaz - when I google flatworm.... all I get is flatworm. I don't ce a ce word!!!! what gives?
mamabear... you have to use the mommy voice!
google flatworm, and scroll down, to find the encyclopedia - its the class that flatworms belong to?
Mamabear - Try wikipedia
grovelling in thanks torgone...........and i did find the other spelling in google
After ps, there are only vowels. Latin plural ending
mommy voice? wikipedia? i get it = you are all trying to make me think I'm crazy.....
mamabear-- seriously--wikipedi a. really.
thanks walnutchen - I'll try that. (us nuts have to stick together!) *wink*
That's crazy talk, mama!
mama...i googled "flatworm ce" and at the bottom of the first page I clicked on that link....it gave me the correct wrong answer....in other words change the final vowel
did someone call me?
Ta 5/12 - put an s in front for the st6
crazy is as crazy does!!
mama don' 'low no crazy talk 'round here.
excuse me?
does that mean I have to shut up?
we don' care what mama don' allow, we gonna talk crazy anyhow!
no... we love you stillcrazy!!
done! thanks Haz for all the clues.
no crazy talk here - in this log we have only the finest intellectual minds of many generations. We have no time for frivolity. <gibber gibber orange monkey sausages>
LOL hey there e1
If crazy is as crazy does, then I does crazy! LOL
Were you here last night when the Marlborough crowd were 'trying' to find words?
deutch... I'm not innocent either! :~D
Need to take a break and do grown up stuff. Now that is Crazy! BBL
Haz - "the Marlborough crowd"????
I was part of the Marlboro crowd
Were you guys in crazy mode before I arrived or am I a baaaadddd influence???? oh and I have my flatworm, thank you one and all ... can't wait until "wikipedia" is in a puzzle
have to go pick up oldest from school.........bloody day ends at 12:10 and she calls me now to come and get her......so will be back to babble atcha all later
laters Deutsch.......
Ms Linton set her pupils the task of finding 20 5 letter words. Chaos. Mostly in textspeak.
and laters bbnaz.....
Niamh, I was as pure as the driven snow, until I drifted. Mae West I have another one, but it's not suitable for the family hour!
what's the "Marlboro crowd"
see you later bbnaz...drive carefully,
buy BB!! see ya later!
the Marlboro crowd lives in cowboy country!
Marlborough crowd - pupils of Marlborough school.
Dangit, y'all...now I gotta go take a smoke break.
I've been a bit off for years now mamabear, not ALL your fault (ya know I hear they have medication for that worm you have)
Scouts I was having the same feeling
the famous ps word is back. The one that holds the record for being the most obscure ord ever in a babble grid. And is it me, or is the red box saying that is not a valid word a bit of an oxymoron today?
Running to lunch...Babble with you all later!
have a good one dbg!
I love how DBG leaves Babble to go to lunch; I go to lunch so that I can Babble.
Hello everyone -- still morning here -- how's it going?
hey there cybernan!
Deutsch, without people like us, that drift, this world would be sooo vanilla
Welllllllll, ummmmmmm, I should actually be working! SHHHHH!!!!
Hi Cybernan! Looks like lunchtime in the States, but prime-time babbling hour here in the UK (early evening).
hello cybernan
harpo isnt a word! Someone should tell Groucho, he'll be really upset....
walnutchen -- still looking for ho6? - it's what you say when you finish this blasted thing!
haha. Cybernan: I finally got ho5 after going aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa555 55555555555555!
thanks again!
Hi Niamh
are you having a blustery day in Canada too Cybernan?
Hey everyone :)
hello Miyavi_fan, how are you today?
Hi Miy! your fave ps word is back......
Were your ea4/4 burning, M_fan?
I'm good thanks Niamh, you? Dachef, so it is. I was wondering when it would come back for me, to throw me over the back of a horse and gallop away. Torgone...er, what?
LOL tor :)
Miyavi_fan, I feeling kinda spunky today... my energy is returning!! (getting over a flu) thank you for asking.
Don't know if the phrase translates, but when the things on the sides of your head, used for hearing, ea4/4 in today's puzzle, are burning, it's because someone is talking about you.
I think it was your icon that did it :D
*gives Torgone a look* I mean, I mean, were people talking about me?
could be, I may just start singing and dancing any minute now! :~)
Go ahead, I did my fair share of singing and dancing today. Also got more than my fair share of weird looks...
Miya, interesting picture, but i gotta ask - is he (?) looking for a zit?
Does anyone have a clue for the de7?
Cybernan - this is from earlier today de7/36 the populace, or de(guy with the 10 commandments)
I love getting weird looks, I usually just smile and wave! what's lot of fun is when I'm in traffic and singing to my radio and people look at me funny, I look straight at them and sing louder, like I'm singing to them! it's great!
Hey Smaller :) Yes, he is a man...my beloved Miyavi :D And looking for a zit...er...I don't know. Probably. Just saying to the camera's "It's right there, can you see it?!" before a live
Niamh, I look at you and see an uncanny image of myself in the future :)
Terrific clue, Schroeder - thanks
Can't take credit for it, but it worked for me also..
I think that's wonderful Myiavi_fan, there really should be more people not afraid of what others think!
Agreed! Though when I was in the shops listening to music, I started singing along without realizing it...I only got the message when a group of Japanese boys started laughing at me
they only laugh because they are afraid, sing to them! they will probably run away quickly, or start singing too!!
I don't think they were afraid, I think they were just genuinely amused. Especially since I was actually singing a Japanese song. The song including lots of "yeah!" "let's go!" and "One two SAN HAI!"
And Why isn't Oprah a word?
How about ch6/24, please?
very cool, I don't know any Japanese songs, but I know some German ones! I really like to sing weird folk songs and children's tunes that most people find amusing.
Have you finished Niamh? Mamabear?
Oprah isn't a word for the same reason Texaco isn't I would imagine...... hi cybernan!!!!!
no, not even close...
finished?????? LOL LOL LOL LOL and LOL!!!! I have 74 words......
Niamh - German children's songs???/ I am mostly German - ever hear of the Schnitzelbach????
ch 6/24 - if you ch**** to find it, you will. it's up to you
If Oprah is a word because its a proper noun then why is Te*** allowed I wonder
Schnitzelbach sounds familiar, but I'm not sure why...
The only German songs I know are by a scary metal band called Ramstein. Lots of, er...banging. And shouting.
cybernan CH6/24 It appears that the other posters ch6/24 not to help you find this word.
present company excepted of course.....
te*** is a word for a steamboat pilothouse. If you click the question mark next to the word, you're linked to a definition (usually)
Miy - what about Kraftwerk? (really crappy German band from the eighties)
also it's a 5/14 and a 6/24
I remember something about the autobahn.
ch6/24 variation of ch5/14...looks like it is pluralized.
I love Ramstein, I've sung thier songs karaoke!!
eh, I don't know much about German music...Japanese music is my one great passion. One two SAN HAI!
Question - ro 7/28 was the clue flower + past tence of eat Any other clues for that? Stuck :(
i must get back to work..... harumph. have fun babblers!!!!!
Niam, do you speak german then? :) If not should learn... hard but more fun to sing along lol
see ya mamabear!
Bye mamabear...
I took German in HS, I don't remember a whole lot... some time soon I want to take another course!
laters mamabear....
Niamh, you're braver than me! The only foreign song I've ever done in karoake was in really bad english...one of the lines was "I believe was rocking my dream / shining what pop sun day"
the really great part was that I sung it tward the end of the night and everyone was too 'happy' to notice that I messed up!
ToeSockMonkey keep working on that clue. once you figure it out you will want the fish for not getting it sooner. for the flower think of RO**bud lips.
Lucky you, some sadistic 'friends' of mine made me go first...still..."stay active and stay young, what self bades street?" It's hard not to love a song like that, sung complete with japanese accent of course :D
do you speak Japanese M_fan? I only know how to say 'I love you' in Japanese...
minski - thank you for the help... still stuck though. I have tried RO_ _ everything :) Perhaps I need to look at the puzzle up side down
Niam how do you say it?
TSM start with ro 4 -flower for valentines day and go from there
I speak...a bit of Japanese. I'm better at reading and writing it than I am at speaking though, which isn't great for when I'm singing. Though thanks to Dir en Grey, I'm learning some really weird japanese that I probably won't need to use again...definitely won't need to use again
ToSoMo - ro4/4 (flower) + (had lunch)
I'm not sure I can type it... I learned from a friend of mine many years ago and I don't even know where the words seperate... so I'll try to type it all together phonetically.. K? onoto-O-Eshtay-emas I tried sorry!
I know! I got the RO _ _ but why isn't the ending working for me.... D'OH!
for the flower go diagonally to the right and up
MAN! You know what... I am the dumbest... I had it this whole time and didn't see that th ered box was telling that I already had that word. Sorry all! :( But thank you for all the help!
think yesterday we *** lunch for the past tense of eat.
ToeSockMonkey *passes TSM the wet noodle* Here you go. 30 lashes should do it.
any help with the Ho 5's w/o the x's
Minski HAHA your awesome ROFL
does anyone have any more clues for the ex's pahleeeease
Niam, ai $hite imas mo! Komban nani ka shimasen ka? :D
ok, I'm impressed, but completely confused! lol
I have 2 HO5s and they are both plurals of HO4s
Tban - from earlier..... e6 and e7: what St.Louis's landmark would be if they had an earthquake?
Thanks everyone - went for a cup of much needed coffee. Obviously I can't read my own writing! - had that one it is the ch7 that I'm looking for.
M_fan - Translation so we can tell our friends? ;)
Okay, I said: "Niam, I love you also. Would you like to come away with me tonight?"
Sorry cybernan I don't ahve that one either
that's awesome! I would love too!!! :D
M-Fan! Sweeeeet! I am going to use that tonight if it's ok with you? :) I am impressed! It's hard to keep up with speaking more then one language!
ahh thanks schroeder but i still don't get it...i'll think on it a little bit though
Niam, buttondemas. Sumisasen. TSM, of course I don't mind! I didn't invent the language!
And TSM...if it works, next comes: "kekkon shimasen ka"
for the ex/6 and ex/7....add the word....McDonalds has a golden one of these
I'm allergic to McDonalds. Might make me sneeze. . .
Babble just crashed! Horror of Horrors. It had to happen on a day that my hubby is going out with the boys after work. I can babble as much as I want if the DA** game doesn't die on me.
good evening - how is everone tonight.
whoa Stillcrazy, we heard you the first time!!!!!! ;)
yo Cath! Hows the home country this evening?
cybernan - ch7/44 One who undertook the expense of providing the chorus in ancient Greek drama
Dachef...what do you mean?
can n e 1 help me wif sa5 x 2 sc6 x 2 sc7 x 2 se6 x 1 sh5 x 1 sp 5 x 3 sp6 x 1 st 4 x 1 st6 x 1 huh! pulees!
Hey Cath :) How are you?
that was the first thing I've said in over an hour
Hi Dachef...chillier but at least its dry...plenty of fireworks tonight (there is a match in cardiff tomorrow so the local rugby club is having an early bonfire night)
ok, Miyavi_fan... I've tried online translators and they are as confused as I am...
Hi myavi i'm ok...havent heard from you for a while are you ok
sorry, stillcrazy, but your McDonalds clue posted about six times on my log, then it vanished altogether, then two came back, and now just one. Hmmmmm. Either my computer's playing silly b*ggers, or that mushroom pizza I had for lunch wasn't made with proper mushrooms...
riiiight...that'll be because online translators only seem to translate the actual characters, rather than romanizations. I found that out the hard way trying to translate a song. All I got was "Hey bunny! Say what?"
wow good I was really wondering there what I did wrong.
Thanks Schroeder - I've been all around the choral words, but the greek is eluding me.
sorry!
apology accepted and thanks for the explanation.
Dachef, could be the effects of my ~magic~ powder
ahh yes, the virtual white stuff....
does anyone know the point total for the se6 meaning to look for? thanks in advance.
cybernan - you got the first 5 letters but you are going to end at the bottom left corner
Though after a couple of sniffs, it's not just white...
jennabelle - 24
se6/24
it's 24 jean
golly, what's with this aa? it's not aardvark...can i have a clue, please?
thanks...for some reason it didn't register a total for that word so now won't calculate my score... just says "NaN"...
hurshy - comon phrase when playing babble: "aa5/16, why isnt that a bl**dy word?"
Thanks Schroeder -- that was a weird one!
dachef - is that a clue, or just an observation?
Thanks Dachef, I will love you forever :)
yw cybernan, took me a while so I can relate
good clue Dachef - thanks!
why isn't fest a word???
hurshy - i think you will find its both !!
i asked that one just the other day, mamabear! it's really not right, is it?
ah, i got it.
jennabelle - hit "refresh" - it should recalculate then
Ah, don't you find it's really hard to concentrate when there's a song in your head?
oops. gotta go..... will sneak in later.....
Well, I only have 90 words and I have almost all the 7 letter words done now :) Still far from done but feel good lol
I usually have a song in my head, today it's a song about faries!
okay back and ready to find more words.........
laters... *starts singing* stay acteev and still say young! I believe rocking in stu-reet...
hi bbnaz
Niam, sing with me! "Shiny what pop sun day, be awake greeness RUN away..."
hello Cath.........the name of the church in Mumbles was Paraclete and Old St Mary's in Swansea.........
*what pop sun day*....lalalaaa
cant think where Paraclete is in Mumbles..I will ring snowy..know St marys in swansea very well..I work very near in the tower block behind the old castle
*has big cheesy grin plastered on face* "I believe what you say sun days, I'll be wiz WOAH...her face was shiny wiz 'appy, I'll be wiz WOAH...I would like to be a rocker, I'll be wiz WOAH...be away rocking in sun days..."
ra6/24, please?
*I'll be wiz WOAH*... hmmm hmmm lalalaa
Okay...sorry to interrupt all decent conversation (and your lovely singing, Niam) but why isn't 'poos' a word?
don't mean to be a dolt, but what is 6/24 mean?
ce5? doesn't seem to be related to ce4...
dangus, it's the number of letters followed by the point total of the word.
thanks
yw
Yay! Back from lunch and just found my last 7! Now to finish the multitude of 4's...
babble doesn't like a lot of words that should be there!
grrr. i keep wanting cargo to be there and it just isn't! :)
wearing my wales cymru with the lovely red dragon and green celtic weaving tee shirt as i type....hoping for some luck in finding these words.............
is n e body out there 2 help me please? sa5 x 2 sc6 x 2 sc7 x 2 se6 x 1 sh5 x 1 sp 5 x 3 sp6 x 1 st 4 x 1 st6 x 1
so - does anybody have that ce5?
Miyavi - try it again + one letter (think about Winnie)
bbnaz - just google for the paraclete church and i think i have an idea now where it is
...it's just not fair, Niam. I know poos may not be everyone's favourite subject, but they do not deserve to be ignored! LET YOUR POOS SPEAK OUT ABOUT THEIR OPPRESSION! EQUAL RIGHTS FOR POOS!
oooh...thanks Cybernan ^_^
hello, happy. the way you are asking, it's a little hard for us to figure out which words you need. you should tell us the length and the point total, rather than "5x2" which just means you need two sa words of 5 letters.
rotfl!! poos speaking out! that's a lovely visual!
itty bitty church on an itty bitty road on the side of a hill looking back towards Swansea...........
miyavi - i think it may just be that the plural of poo is poo, like the plural of sheep is sheep. so maybe poo isn't oppressed after all.
oooh...bad images now. like the posters outside our school's languages block...they were talking about a trip to germany, and advertising this little chocolate shop there. They animated a face, arms and legs onto a chocolate, but really it just looked like a walking, talking poo
or maybe it is just poo poo?
Help, please - still looking for my last r: ra 6/24
bbnaz - was it near a public park/playground
hmm, Hurshy, you may be right. But, say you were really desperate, you wouldn't say "I think I need several poo", would you? Confusing...
walking talking poo? Hello Mr Hankey!
no, you'd say, "i need some poo!" like "i need some money!" because it's a collective noun.
psst...how long has Dachef had an imaginary friend?
Miyavi_fan, it's from South Park (cartoon) they have a walking talking poo!
But say you were talking about your bathroom, er, habits, you wouldn't say "I go for many poo"
Cath, if you walked up the road to the top of the hill, there was open space....was it a park? I don't recall, just that it was lovely! There was also a cemetary down the hill that was surreal and beautiful too......
riiiight...hey, I get the feeling that would make a good pet. A walking talking poo. Unique, anyway
oh, great. i got ce5, and i had been hoping ce7 was just past tense of it. but that won't work. so, any clues for ce7?
I have finished finding all the words today a lot earlier than I did yesterday! I even had time to add a little blip to my profile. Good luck e1...I'm off to do great things!
cybernan-- my last ra too. Can't find an ra6/24 anywhere.
miyavi - no, again, you would just say something like, "i produce a lot of poo".
put a circular top on that ra6
See you Stillcrazy. And goodbye from my pet walking talking poo. I'll call him Horace
look beyond thunder****
Sigh. I can't afford real poo--just sham poo.
hm, you're right. Okay, I give in. But I don't have to be mature about it. *throws temper tantrum*
Jogalee - frustrating isn't it? -- I've decided to quit monkey typing and take a lunch break -- maybe a fresh eye will help later.
Joelgee, borrow some of mine. Plenty to spare
got it. cybernan, you?
wait, is the thunder clue for the ra6 or my ce7?
bbnaz - i think I know where you were,if went up the hill (from mumbles) you would have passed the park on your left, the cemetary was a little further up on the right and you would have been heading towards Newton
cybernan -- you mean thunder**** didn't help?
well, thank you, mf. Awfully decent, but then I'd have to feed it and all.
hm, you're right. And besides, I think they're getting rather attached to me. Bless, they know who their mummy is...
that cemetary was spooky spectacular! trust me when i say that there is NOTHING like that where I live........
ah. poo mama-san
And on the subject of walking talking poos, I must leave you. Goodbye from me and Horace :) And Hurshy...*blows raspberry and runs away*
Jogalee -- No I haven't - the circular clue didn't do it for me!
please, please, someone must have ce7!
hurshy the thunder clue is for the RA6
see you M_fan!
i got it cybernan! on top of the white house there is a ****. add that to the ra.
doh -- not the white house - the capitol.
bbnaz wasn't there a really bad movie called Mad Max and the Thunder****?
Beyond Thunder**** and it had Tina Turner as the villainess pitted against Mel Gibson........
sa5/10 sa5/12 sc6/24 sc6/27 sc7/36 sc7/44 se5/10 sh5/ 12 sp5/12 sp5/14 sp6/21 st 4/4 st6/21 ta5/12 i thx u
okay, gotcher astro****. over a stadium with artificial turf, they put a ****. Glue your ra on the front of that.
Like I said.....really bad. My hubby loves all those old horrid movies.
ibnaz it is - the long drive up to the gates is bad enough.it is actually quite a large cemetary..it goes up to newton and across to another part of the village called Norton...spent a few halloween nights there in my much younger days..scared out of my wits
I think they are a guy thing.
i think after Katrina that they are going to tear that particular Astro**** down
I had deep dish pizza from Giordano's for lunch today.... anybody jealous???
Don't see anything relating to thunder -- either -- guess I really do need a break from this!
you had some ZAH for lunch and didn't bring any back???? now I am hungry
Slide me a slice, please. Darn, that sounds good.
I might be if I knew who Giordano's was! I have halloween candy my kids shared with me!
cybernan - forget the thunder - there's some other good clues here now.
need 7 more a words. not sure which ones but sure am enjoying creating all of these new ones.....
yay, finally cracked 1000 (90 words) first time playing..
"psec" is in the dictionary, it should count!!!!! (throwing a tantrum)
Thanks Joelgee, I was looking for that one too.
YEEHAW! Congratulations!
cybernan-- we're going to do this before you go. Forget the top of things. A sexually forward woman might say to a man, "** **!"
bbnaz - yep!!! it was a fellow employees last day working here so we splurged!!!! mmmmmm.......
Here I come to save the day!
Finally. I put the baby down for a nap and have been listening to her cry for 1/2 hour. She's finally asleep so I can take a shower and finish cleaning the kitchen. We had swim class at the YMCA this morning and I still reek of chlorine. Tons of fun though. I'll be back later. I still only have 107 words. I have 171 words left to find. TTFN.
hello everybody. how many words today?
Hola Smeltz.............. and Hurshy, I love my thunder
joelgee -- that astro clue did it -- many thanks! Bye for now.
dyl-- 278
too many. 288
I'm right. She's wrong. Unless you count the bonus words.
Joelgee ~ ROFL!!! Great clue!! OK I'm really leaving now.
only 278. 288 was yesterday. no offense about the thunder - just some of us don't know about that one. :)
thanx joelgee
ok, seriously, i seem to have tried every possible 7 letter ce combination (given that it comes after the ce5, that is) and i CANNOT GET IT!!!!!
Hursh - your yelling scares me.
hurshy, I think that's the flatworm thing... try googling flatworm
sorry. and it wasn't necessary, for i just found one i hadn't tried.
I'm stumped on de 7/36. any clues?
the sc7? Who knows that one? I know, the sound of fabric, yada, yada. I'm sure it's been here before, but . . .
hurshy - _ _ _ to Billy Joe
alden-- after the de, find the guy who brought the 10 commandments down
no, it's ok, i got it now. :)
Got it. Thanks, joelgee
Hi Everyone!- bbnaz & CATHB- it was Newton, I googled it and there it was!!!! Glad you're wearing the red bbnaz! I have no hope ofgetting anywhere near tonights total!
Now. sc7?
hebrew in the bulrushes
I bet Papa John's is better than Giodano's
Why is a state name allowed? t5?
joelgee, there are two of them... which one you need?
hi snowy...are the little kids and big kid in bed
a big wave to you snowy........but Paraklete was in Mumbles or Newton?
hj-- also a structure on a steamboat. Click the ? next to the words for definitions (usually)
harpjane, because it also means: A structure on a river steamboat containing the pilothouse and the officers' quarters
ok, i'll try to remain calm this time... ch7?
the one that I don't have, obviously. Sorry for that. The one having to do with silky rustling or something like that.
CATHB the littlies are and the big one should be!!! He's 58 going on 4 at the moment!!!! After nearly 29 years he's discovered talking and sulking! What a result!
apparently, joelgee needs the one that means the sound of fabric. (i'm nowhere near the s's yet)
snowy-- glad you fluttered by.
hm, which came first, the state or the steamboat?
why am i answering for other people?
harpjane, got me. I just clicked the ? to see the def
Joelgee, Think the miserly guy associated with Christmas and change the last 2 letters. SC7
bbnaz it is in Newton - its a chapel. Newton is a very short distance from Mumbles.
hj-- check the def. People decided to name these structures after states. Go figure.
Got it. Not the one I thought it was going to be. I like the word though. Kinda makes up for not allowing shoop.
Hurshy - Ch7 / Google this def: One who undertook the expense of providing the chorus in ancient Greek drama.
just hit 200 words! so someone needs to lighten up the conversation.
I'm glad you got it because I'm having a hard time trying to figure out a clue!

dylan-- no words begin with x. Do you know about babblers anonymous? Seriously.
sc6/24 is plural of sc5/24
oops i mean sc6/24 is plural of sc5/14
bbnaz - you cetainly dont have to apologise- the whole area is often called Mumbles but it is a collection of small areas or villages.even when you live there it is hard to know where one part starts and the other ends
Okay, I'm back again. *hangs head* Addicted...
back in 10 mins...off to make a cup of tea...anyone want a biscuit
it was lovely and we spent four days based in swansea so we went back out to the Mumbles area a few times. enjoyed my shopping i did.
Ooh, can I have a biscuit to feed to Dachef's banana?
certainly Miyavi what would you like
Thanks! Ooh...ask Dachef's banana!
how about a mcviddies for me?
Miy - is Dachef around with his banana of have you got it with you?
Hey, this is my Babble. Don't you know they "all start with X"?
chocolate finger perhaps or possible a choc chip cookie
I actually don't know...I stole it from him last night but was apparently high on my ~magic~ powder...I don't remember giving it back
sp 6/21 is plural of sp5/12
be back in a mo with the biscuit box
Sounds about right to me...thanks Cath :D
Papa John's isn't even pizza compared to Giordano's....
mama - you're alive!
can I get giodano's in my local grocer's freezer?
buy one get one free?
yeah I keep getting interrupted with work related nonsense....... did I ever tell you that you have nice buns?
depends. where exactly is your local grocer's freezer?
my nearest Wal*Mart
how many words r thr 2day any1 plz?
tinky winky, dipsy, la-la, poh
there are 278 words. anybody have a clue for es7?
no, nevermind. don't think i'll need one.
Dangus - could you be funny?
TinkyWinky, on the right hand side of the screen under friends of babble is a link to babblers anon. go under general and it will list 2nd letter's and all sorts of good stuff! including how many words there are! ;~)
ok got the tea and biscuit box...snowy - just checked the chilli - its seems to be a good one
I could try, but it wouldn't help
es7 is: a steep slope or cliff
dungus - sorry...that was sarcastic...my fingers didn't portray that well. I laughed. my question was a statement.
I meant dang not dung
I do not think Walmart would have them.... but I still have 1/2 a piece on my desk.... want me to send it to you?
Thats ok Dog, no offense taken.
looking forward to it CATHB. Am hopeless with this grid tonight and these liitlies are still dancing about & driving me mad. May just sit here and read the log!
tinky winky boonky poo - you might need to check your keyboard. I think your vowel buttons stopped working and you need them for this game.
clue for ar4/5 either one?
ar 4, st. Louis as a big one!
ap6?
ar 4/5 parts of a circle
That's tinky winky poonky boo - get it right. Dyslexia strikes every 5 seconds.....
bbnaz, they start with the same 3 letters
ar 4/5 plural of a math word for a curve ar 4/5 A Remarkable Company
Waht?
ap 6 - things are not always as they ap****
ap6-- what a magician makes a rabbit do, from a hat.
ch 7/44?
finally back amongst the babbling! Hi all!
thx hurshy....the remarkable really helped
wait, I just had to take a phone call...what's this about tinky winky poonky boo?
joel - jumpoutofa doesn't start with ap
Hey Deutsch :) What happened, did manskirt hold you hostage?
ch 7/44 - now that i have it, let me see if i can come up with a good clue. start as if you're making a musical word, and end with one of our boys overseas.
it's boonky poo
smeltz-- Bite me!
a little time to babble before I have to go home - tgif
hi Deutsch, did you miss us?
hi deutsch!
thank goodness, no, Miyavi! Had some errands to run.
Hi Deutsch
joel *in teacher voice* Have we had a long day? Do we need a time out? or are we going to apoligize to mr. Smeltzdog?
Hi Deutsch
boys, boys, now let's all get along.....
riiight...only my maths teacher was mysteriously away today, so I just assumed :)
Yes, I missed and thought about all of you. I called my mom from the laundrymat and talked about y'all to her. she's thinking of playing! lol
Joelgee, and just who got after me earlier for being abrupt? Hmmmmm?
spooky, indeed, Miyavi. Haven't see manskirt all day either!
I've gotten several people to play... not so many to join in on the chat though... wonder why?
I'm sorry, smeltz. That wasn't every polite. Biteth me, s'il vous plait.
mamabear, they are getting along, that's how boys are and that's how they show deep affection "bite me" is manspeak for "oh dear one of my brethren, that was quite humorous"
There's an amazing amount of teacher voices going on here, I'm starting to feel I didn't leave school today...*sobs* don't do this to me!
ty hurshy!
Deutch - stay away. he is a rabud beast and I don't want you to get hurt.
hey Smeltzie - I think those red tites are too tight....
Deutsh-- Here's the difference: That was you.
il travaille au coin de la rue!!
thanks, smeltz. Would you smack him for me, please?
Niamh I thought the grid was difficult - translating this lot is more of a challenge!
hmm...how about ho6/24?
otay....have all of the a words! on to the c words
Deutsch, probably at a conference. Judging by my maths teachers habits, it was either "how to ball your socks in one simple step!" or "scaring pupils - a teachers guide"
fish fish fish. but ho6/24 - i got it!
Hurshy, ho 6 24 Yippee!
Nothing like a teacher voice to bring out my inner child. Wanna know how teachers liked my inner child? Hmmm? Went back to High school to visit after graduating. Math teacher gave me the finger.
snowy... I think we've come up with our own language here in babbleonia!
Miyavi, Manskirt when to "Where to buy clothes if you want to pretend it's still the 60s"
But now, I'm feeling bad, Smeltz. I just thought your jumpouta was funny. Can I come back in from the hallway now?
Perhaps you got it wrong joelgee - he might have been picking his nose thats all!
It was supposed to be french but I'm not sure what it means. It's about all I remember from high school french class
...men wore skirts in the 60's?
stumped again. anyone have a clue for oa 5/10?
Yeah, snowy. That's it. He was picking his nose--about five inches away from his proboscis.
I went to make tea and seemed to have lost the plot since i came back...
Not all of us.
Although there was one party . . .
isn't proboscis a type of ham? I had some on pizza a while back.
don't worry Cath. Soon I will start singing, people will be diving into the custard jacuzzi and it'll all be back to normal.
Oh doesn't Babblonia sound nice? We could do package holidays! We could do tours - How does 'See the famous Hanging Gardens of Babblonia' sound? I am famous around here for my original ideas!
I just googled it and apparently proboscis is a type of monkey!
Smeltz! Only if it's the genoan article.
Snowy...okay, words fail
Could we have a jaccuuzzee party without liquid please. my suit is silk and my buns get soggy
you could sing "by the rivers of Babblonia" on the way there
hey snowy... can we have special Babbleonia post cards too!! I can send them to my family when they miss me!!
It was only a suggestion! LOL
Can have soggy buns now can we. It would kill the whole look. :)
and of course, there would be a visit to the Tower of Babble. I mean Babel.
Miyavi, people wore lots of weird things back in the 60s
ta5/14 ?
We could fill it with those packing peanuts, soft yet completely dry. SOunds good to me.
Back for more.... Smeltz- nothing worse than soggy droopy buns
they would droop and ...well, I'll leave it at that
Yeah like flared trousers and smocks!
It seems the singers I like are still carrying those fine traditions, Deutsch. My lovely Miyavi *points at icon* still wears skirts a lot...in fact, way too much.
ta 5 13 plural of ta 4 6 if that's not it, I don't have it.
We could picnic by a babbling brook
Per my OED, proboscis, 2nd usage, a person's nose. 1st usage: An elephant's trunk; the long flexible snout of other mammals, e.g. the tapir and proboscis monkey.
I was thinking more of Fruity Pebbles or banana mocha mix
And I did mean ta 5 14
smeltzdog - i think you were thinking of prosciutto, about the ham earlier.
my bad - I was thinking of prochuitto
Was any one talking to you, Joelgee?
any help on the oa5/10? cant find it
maybe there'd be a babbling brook in Babblonia?
oooh...harsh...
oa 5/10 more than one Shamoo
Capt'n Crunch? Anyone? WIth crunchberries or without.
oops snowy... u beat me, just saw ur log :)
ouwachita pl of haven in the desert
Smeltzdog - I think the idea is that you don't wear clothes in the jacuzzi - In the old days ( a few weeks ago) You had to streak to the custard jacuzzi. those of us who are unpleasant to look at undressed (me) were allowed a piece of something gauzy and alluring. So have no fears for the suit - it will be forbidden!
There are many babbling idiots in babblonia, Tbug, is that not enough?
I would appreciate if y'all waited for me to finish my own lines. the droopy buns and the prosciutto were both mine...MINE!!!
oa 5/10 - more than one shamoo? i think you're thinking of orca. oa 5/10 is pl of watering places in the desert.
we'd chew lots of babble gum !
You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? I don't see anyone else.
oops. looked at the or 5/12.. my mistake
got it...ty
Without the suit the weiner may fall out of the bun!
escuse me, i should have said or4 - i wasn't realizing the word was in the puzzle.
cheers Deutsch
Joelgee, LOL, * opens fresh box of chocolates, passes them around, starts with Joelgee*
Smeltz, please. I have a very dirty mind already, I'm getting very bad images
Smeltz!!! LOL It wouldn't be the 1st time that has happened here!
Yes, we get a surprising amount of...er, weiners flying the coop. Ooooh, just got mental image of flying...things
Miyavi - cover your eyes please
on closer look at the ol' picture, the glasses actually hold it in place. I think I can handle leaving the suit
Close your eyes Miy - Oh never mind just as well to get a good laugh now as later!
the weiner should not be " in the bun" I goes somewhere totaly different, but that is on a differt site.
MMMmmmm. Chocolate.
*covers eyes* okay, I'll be truthful. *peeks through fingers*
so sorry, I have a very dirty mind and once in a while it takes over.
to hell with the tea...need something stronger..
Cath, have some of my ~magic~ powder
I just realized that my dad plays this so...umm...gotebrrabe...it wasn't me...someone took my computer and typed inappropriate things...it was ...umm...inky binky boonky poo...yeah she did it...now I feel bad!
Cleanup on aisle 4. cleanup on aisle 4
Smeltz, Dachef had that same problem a while ago. Seems some naughty children climbed through the window and typed some bad ideas
jacuzzi party?
This might be an appropriate moment to discuss the whole philosophical issue of the "good", "bad" thing. Let us reflect on these things.
are you finished, Mama?
Smeltz PLEASE - all this laughing isn't good for me!
it's only my 2nd game- HOW ON EARTH DO PEOPLE SOLVE THIS!? I'm only at 128 and I'm lost!
mama - how dare you find words and not chat. jacuzzi party was soooooo five minutes ago
*slips and falls on aisle 4*
I typed in a 4 letter word pe** and it scored me a blank for points (instead of a point number) and my total now displays NaN (not a number).. call the code guru!!
Crys this is about my 80th and I've got 132 so you're not doing too badly!
crysannmarie - have you got the list of statistics from babblers anonymous link on the right? it tells us how many of each first two letter combos there are. that is how we do it - that and we spend ridiculous amounts of time here.
hey mama!! guess what? i already have 84 words! how many are there today?
assain you need to refresh your page
refresh,assasin!
assassin-- try hitting F5 to refresh.
Thanks- that makes me feel better! Do people actually solve it?
Tbug - it's Meisa's fault... she's been dirty, someone had to clean it...I thought to myself, "self, being the upstanding hotdog in a suit you are, why don't you clean things up." So I did.
CrysAnnMarie this must be my 128th game ,only on 85 and lost but who cares..we dont always finish (or in my case never)
f5 did it, thanks!
do you have to sign up and pay to get the statistics?
not from the babbers anon... that's free
crys - click on the Babblers anon. site on the right. Then click General and you will get the whole list of words and the first two letters of each.
no, you don't have to pay for the stats.
CathB I'll toast to that *to the lost ones*
that was outstandingly astute for an upstanding hotdog in a suit!
Crys yes people do finish it - lots of people - but some don't take part in the madnes that is the chat log and some are v. clever and some people don't have enough time to complete. I just enjoy the whole thing and don't worry about it much.
sorry smeltzie - trying to keep up ..... i so hate missing the jacuzzi parties.... (are you still thinking outside the bun?)
joelgee.... i saw your this about chocolate, where'dya get it. someone passing it out?
i'm not seeing babblers anon- is it near player rankings?
It's only ten bucks to pay. the biggest bonus is the cute hotdog to the left.
It's under the list of friends
THIRDCUB!!!! How ya doin?????? There are like a gazillion or 278. something like that!! But it's a relatively kind grid - a plethora of normal words!!!!!
I picked up some on my errands today. There's enough for everyone. Have some!
And while we're at it, let's ponder the whole question of dirty and clean. Arbitrary at best.
babblers anon is the last link under friends of babble
Crys Ann its the last entry on the friends of babble list way over on the right
cheers Schroeder - raises her glass
Oh Deutsch! I should have known! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I'm a quart low on chocolate
CATHB you're drinking a lot tonight!
I used to try to finish but it wasn't as much fun as the chattifnt
Hi all! It's' your resident lupine babble addict, just checking in...
chattinft????
I gave up on that idea when I realized how dim I was. C'est la vie
ok back in half an hour...going to have a serious look for some words now..can spare an extra hour tonight..no work tomorrow but need an earlyish night..

wow!! thats a lot of words!! and here i thought i was doing good with getting 84 pretty quickly. my ethics teacher (the one who made the deal about the plagiarism) didnt show up for class this morning, so we all just left the class
Hi Schroeder! Thanks for the tip, Smeltz, I've caught the gist of things sorta...
that's bogus!!!!!!! Deutsch - no I am not finished - have 105 give or take.
MAMA - love the pic-- where did you find it? snowyowl - glad to meet you-- snowys are my mothers favorite owl
Are you ready to rock?

hurshy, drop the s and use a vowel
hurshy - ok. try this r + a kind of snake
Miyavi - how old do you have to be to eat toast?
grrrrrrrrr - i could have sworn i already tried that!!! thanks, all.
Speed-- what would the indy drivers say, "I've only gone 250?" No. Dig deep. Pull out that inner whatever you have. 177 aren't that many. *laughter with slight maniacal lilt*
Miyavi -please don't mention proposals - (*whispers*) You'll start joelgee off again!
thanks, mama. finally got that! and thanks, Niamh, too!
I'll take my toast w/butter and marmalade, please
Snowy . . .
oh, it's a tricky business Mama. They're raising the legal toast age to 21 over here. Sorry Snowy! Mr Woulf, I'm sorry, I'm only 13. Nowhere near old enough to legally make toast
Thx joelgee you made the grid soo much easier for me LOL
joelgee - you are too funny. :)
OOOOOPPPSS - here we go!
MAMA - how you doin' on this one? I have 129 to go after staying up til 4:30 this AM
Hey Mustard Man, where did you go?
Snowy-- I bet you're an accomplished instigator(sp?)
yea, then when i got home i saw i had an email from him, sent at 10:30 this morning (the class started at 11:30) saying that he had a migraine and thats why he didnt come to class
ok, how about a clue for the ro7? i know i need to add something to my ro4/4, but what?
Miya What is the legal drinking age there? Note the word Legal, not when everyone starts:)
joelgee- sp correct!
I hold the Stirrers Anonymous equivalent of an Oscar. Its a highly decorative, gold plated whisk!
Miy - Mr. Woulf is my father, just call me woulf, or GW or whatever it takes to get my attention
hursy... past tence of eat, add that
sorry, forgot your R (I know it goes in there somewhere!)
Speed, ostensibly it's 18. Though drunken 15 year olds cavorting around tend to ignore that
this is the weirdest day. i keep getting them as soon as i post. i feel bad making you all take the time to give me clues. maybe next time you should all ignore me unless i ask for the same one twice!
ok... I've lost it I'm going to go in the corner and hit myself with a fish for a while!
I have 106 so far, GW. 4:30am ????????? you crazy man......
hurshy, what? did you say something??? LOL
Okay Woulf, it's just you seemed kind of dignified for some reason, I don't know. Like some school instinct makes me call dr_god 'sir'
es6/21? please.
No, ask, Hurshy. The stealth babbler has picked up many clues! lol
joelgee e+old wounds leave _____
LOL mama. :)
It was a combination of the insanity and the company, MAMA. I came back about an hour later, just in time to see taht everyone else had gone except for CJ and sprite. We then had chat on topics spanning parenting to SF
hursh-- thanks
yes hursh thanks!
's OK, Miy, I get that a lot --- my friends know better
Please keep asking Hurshy!!

cute mama!
Migraine???? Yeah right.....
ch7/36 co5/14 co6/27 ga4/6 gr5/16 please!
Why the hanging head, Miy? Hold your head up with pride -- you already have my respect for loving this game when most others your age think that HALO 2 is the pinnacle of gaming excellence
yeah!!!! i finally hit 100 words. this is going to take forever.
ch 7/36 opts, picks
TGIF !!! gong to cook dinner and be back to babble in a few ....... hope everyone is doing great !
ozobo mama!
That is a great image, MAMA!
co 5/14 like a snake but change middle letter co 6 - add letter to end of prev
GreyWoulf, it may be because you said 'your friends know better' and she thinks that means she's not a friend
Wow...thanks Woulf! *big cheesy grin plastered on face*
ga4/6 like actress teri ____, but change last letter
Anyone who plays BABBLE is automatically my friend!!!!!
group hug
ozobo?????? Zeeple florb eep kligoo?
gr 5/16 - the gr*** of God gr 5/16 - a score on a test gr 5/16 - to hold tightly
joelgee..... I'm in!!!!
*extends the hug joelgee started*
ga4/6=more than one fish

hey mama, now i have 108 too!!
Cadfan LOL!!!!
:)
Though whilst we're all in a hugging mood, can I say thanks?
I only went away for 5 mins and everyone is running around hugging everyone else! Does someone KNOW when i leave the room?
Hellooooooo BAbblers!
Hi guys - back again with 13 to go and all s-something! Does anyone have a clue for the sa 5/10, 7/28? -- I'm assuming a relationship.
Hi Eva - glad to see you
Hi evanonut Thanks for what, Miyavi?
Snowy I was gone also, *hugs snowy*
Awww, Snowy! ...we have a lookout
there are eyes everywhere snowy! M_fan, why are you thanking?
ok, i'm almost done with these sc's - can anyone help me with sc 7/44?
Hi evanonut! Here, snowy, a hug just for you so you don't feel left out!! ((O))
sa 5/10 and 7/28 like indian garment but change vowel, and plural
sc7/44 gaelic for scraw
cybernan - sa7/28 An inlet of the northeast Aegean Sea indenting northwest European Turkey north of Gallipoli. (pl)
Thankyou Schroeder *hugs back* Miyavi - there's nothing worse than a sneak!
And a hug for Schroeder ((O)) Aw heck.... more hugs for everyone!!!!
Thanks for all the hugs - I'm glad I spoke up now!
Niam, when I was doing my profile I didn't really want to put my age since I thought people would automatically assume I was an obnoxious teenager. I feel like thanking everyone for accepting me and treating me like a person!
cybernan - a relationship? who's having a relationship?
It's Friday!!!!! * dances a little jig, trips, falls *
wow, i'm not up on my gaelic - but figured it out anyway. thanks!!!
Thx GreyWoulf needed that hug:)
GW - see - my icon was inspiring!!!!!! *BEAR hugs for everyone* ThirdCub - Awesome - I've got 113 now..... go ThirdCub, go Thirdcub, Go, Go THIRDCUB!!!!
oh.. well, I don't think age is really the thing here, you are smart, helpful, fun... list goes on and I for one like your company!
Sometimes dyslexia is a good thing. I just read hurshy's sa clues, typed them backwards and got two other s words.
*audible crack comes from chest* What's happening?! My heart! It's melting! Melting I say!
mIYAVI - US call YOU obnoxious???? Are you reading our messages????? I think not......
hey I want in on the hug this time too.. last time I was searching the grid....*hugs*
Miy to be an obnoxious teenager -you have to be obnoxious and I don't think I've ever met anyone less obnoxious that you! There's an old song that says 'I love you just the way you are' - and we do!
evanonut - I hope you didn't hurt yourself!!! Gotta watch that jig stuff.
Miyavi age doesn't mean anything. Somedays I feel 13 (until I look in the mirror) *hugs Niamh*
(((((everyone))))))
ok everybody BREAK!!!! how about the 2 ex words????
ta 4 last clues still lookin 4 ch7/36 ga4/6 gr5/16
careful myavi - those hearts can be fragile! he he
All you have to do is ask, and a hug is yours :D I believe that hugs are the true universal language and should never be withheld
Now my husband!! He's just like an obnoxious teenager! Do you think your parents would like to swap?
Wow...thanks everyone...again...I'm doing a lot of this tonight. But everyone else in my English class comes on and it's a nightmare of text speak and x's
ex 6 - it looks like it could mean former king. or as someone joked earlier - if a st. louis landmark fell...
A hug for everyone, then...I have little arms but I'll do my best *stretches*
happy - i posted you some clues for those earlier. scroll back in the log.
Got it - thanks Hurshy and all.
my but you are all quite chatty tonight...isn't it lovely?
Snowy, they'd love to swap. They wanted a nice little girl they could dress in frills and ribbons. Not a japanese rock/metal addict who's room is plastered in pictures of male bands that look like gothic women
ex6 - "Of or relating to a xylem whose early development is away from the center and toward the periphery." Hope that's not too obvious.
:) torgone :)
Torgone, why don't you just give it away! lol Hi, by the way
He's 58 Miy - I'm not sure the ribbons and frills thing would work - but hey I'm game if they are!
back now...what has been going on ...mass hugs...what else have i missed
thanks torgone - it was the "toward the periphery" that clinched it for me.... but seriously folks, thanks hurshy!
Okay, I've now got very disturbing mental images! On that note, I'm off...see you all tomorrow, and good luck and thanks :)
M_fan - I wish I had been as mature, literate and lucid as you are, when I was 13.
goodnight Miyavi
Have a good nite Miyavi!!!
hurshy ma heids aw mince an am no thinkin richt!
Take care, mf-- Enjoy your new disturbing mental images.
night Miyavi
That's about it CATHB - still in the hugs stage - I don't think anyone is even hit the liquid refreshments yet!!
Nite, mayavi!
Take care, Miy--- my day has already been improved for having met you!!
Miya: Sweet Dreams to you:)
happy - does that mean my clues didn't work, or that you just didn't see them?
CATB shush I think I'm going to get to swap Mal for miyavi - they even have the same initial - meant to be or what! I can do Japanese rock and posters - easy peasy - Do you think her parents coould cope with him tho? Frowns & sheep impressions?
MAMABEAR - i started on that ages ago !!! the tea did not hit the spot
Ahh.. I had 2 microbrews at lunch. Am planning aLARGE martini when i get home - then to bed to hopefully sleep off a cold
bubb bye mifa
Are the sheep impressions still there even after he showers?
Good nite Miyavi!!!!! You give 13 year olds a GOOD name!!!!!! sweet dreams...... hey, wait. disturbing mental images? disturbing mental images? Did I miss them? They are one of my favorites..... boy can't take your eyes off the log for one minute......
snowy you could give it a try - I wont say anything!!
hurshy ch7/36 ga4/6 stillel udes me :-(
Cold Cadfan? Large amount of rum and warm blackcurrant juice - sugar if you must. If it doesn't cure the cold you won't care much
it depends on how hard you press on the sheep
the best cold is one you dont remember ;)
I'd be happy not caring much at this point... spiced rum okay? I think that's all we have at home - and the closest I get to black currant anything is probably some Chambord....
happy - ga4/6 swap the consonant in your pl ra4/6
I can vouch for that cure cadfan...i invented it (it must be dark rum)
anybody have an ho6/24 in spare change?
Hello everybody, I hve a question. If I can't find any more words do I get a new puzzle?
seriously? ch 7/36? you sure you don't mean 7/44?
Unfortunately the sheep impressions are always there, lurking in the background torgone! It's the reason I haven't divorced him -how do you tell people 'My ex is a sheep'? If I'd known about them I'd still be single!
yup... tomorrow fiz
fiz - at midnight! but you also turn into a pumpkin.

hurshy, I have: sc 5/14 - another word for the Niagara cliffs sc 6/27 - ? sc 6/24 - plural of the sc 4/14 Am I missing something in there?
yes - there's a clue for you right above where you said gbye to schroeder
ah snowy, i think you need a vacation.
I need help with So 5/14 please
I saw that, and I assume it is for the 6/27, but the only letter combo I see that fits alpabetically keeps coming up as not valid.
so 5/14 pl of prev so4
sc6/27 slang for the human neck
but, cybernan, what do you wear around your neck in the winter?
does anyone have the word list?
sc6/27 also what you put around neck for warmth but change the ending, phonetically same
joylee - babblers anonymous link on right.

Bless you hurshy!!!! *mamabear passes hurshy a tissue*
Night CATHB sweet dreams, see you tomorrow

Snowy & CathB: Have fun together, use some Babble words:))
Snowy, has he been checked for sleep apnea? Sounds a lot like my husband. He just got his CPAP machine. Really, really helps. High blood pressure & apnea can go hand in hand.
Take care CathB!

Sympathy reciprocated GreyWoulf! We're complete opposites in our natures - he's a tomorrow will do sort of man an I'm a the day before yesterday is not soon enough sort of woman. We've had an interesting 28 & 3/4 years! I wouldn't change him for anything really - well perhaps £50!

joylee - that 278 was in answer to your question
278, JoyLee LOTS of 4 and 5 letter, with out the list you should do pretty good I have got 164 and haven't used the list yet -- just fellow babbler's clues

Worth checking out, Snowy. It can be scary. I would hear mine stop breathing & then gasp later. They ask a few questions & can get a good idea.
hurshy to my eternal shame I hadn't got that one!

clues on the os words? I have one (rhymes with the guy from Exodus) but not the other.
Hi Everybody!
I've had no time for chat today, the grid was too large again. I'm retiring gracefully, 75 words short of the target, but time is running out.
Hi Temple. Lucky, Tbear, Deutsch, exwren, spatialbean, joelgee..... mmmmm... did I miss anyone?
Hi Mamabear
... and speedfreak and harpjane.... just got home from work.... glass of merlot in hand. 2letter list at my side. life is good... well, not really, but when I am babbling I don't think about it!!!!!!
hi poo's mom!!!
Hi all, back for a few before class
hi Schroeder!!! good to see ya
hey all....
Hey Cathy!
hi cathy! can anyone help me with the crisp rustle of silk? it's the sc 7/36... purty please
The "crisp rustle" sounds more like cleaning up after a dog, in my opinion, but you can google it.
hey poo... we saw 70 degrees today... was it the same there?
I am looking for that same one mamabear, my last 7
it was darn close Cathy! Better enjoy it while we can
Hi everybody.
absolutely..... thankfully i have cats to keep me warm in the evenings! lol
hi ohro
Vicuna - when I google it, it only gives me poems with the crisp rustle words in them. How do I find this word from google?
good evening ohro!
Hey Mama. I was showing a friend your poem at work today. He loved it too.
"crisp rustle of silk or a similar fabric" got it for me
LOL Cathy... the cats here think they share the bed with me, not the other way 'round!
Really ohro???? That's awesome! Thanks for the compliment!!!
Mama: yeah. There are a few closet poetry readers at work besides myself. Hey: why isn't "fest" a word. I thought that was a real word.
I know - I asked the same question this morning - about fest. I must not google right. I entered the "rustle of..." words in the google search but I don't see an sc word in there anywhere... I need to read Google for Dummies
Mamabear when your done reading google for dummies can I borrow it, I'm lost also!!!
Mambear, do you get something that looks like a dictionary definition? If so, in the top line (in blue) it has dictionary.com/ and then the word.
lol poo... the same here! especially as the nights are getting colder - they have definitely taken up ownership of the bed!
Mamabear - When someone gives you a phrase like that, put quotes around it when you enter it in Google. That will narrow the search to that exact phrase.
Also, are you putting the whole phrase between quotation marks?
Oh, and Hi guys. In to try and wreak whatever havoc I can tonight ..
Ty all google pros, by george I think I got it!!! How about you Mamabear?
OK - didn't know the quotation mark trick. Thank you all!!! I have known all along i do something wrong in Google but didn't want to ask for fear of fish in face
Good work, Schroeder - that trick helps with many of the clues where someone gives a technical definition.
Mamma: here is another site for you: http://www.onelook.com/ If you go to this site, you can paste in a definition of a word that you are looking for and it finds words that meet that definition.
hey torgone - since you put the fangs away and can no longer nibble, do you now tickle with that stach????
Well, I think my Google light bulb is now on thanks to everyone!!!
thanks ohro!!!
199 words. off to dinner. Don't know if I'll be back. In some ways this puzzle is easier, even though it has lots of words. Who agrees?
Harp: I agree. I have been thinking of words as fast as I can type them. It seems a lot better than last night.
Have a nice dinner harpjane, and I do agree
Yes, Mamabear - I still have a thing for necks ...
I agree too harpjane - this puzzle has been much more enjoyable to work on with its plethora of REAL words!!
Well one of those real words can't possibly be the mo6, or can it? May I have clue please?
mo6 "Mariana in the Mo- Grange"
Why isn't casted a word? Or fest?
Nevermind, casted isn't a word.
I'm sorry, I don't know what that is. Mohave? Naaah.
Maybe if we held Babblefest "they" would believe it's a word...
okay, mab, a castle with a good defense might be mo- (quite simply, it's like a past tense of mo4)
mo6 = having a mo4/5
Wow. I've reached a new peak of stupidity. An entirely new level. Thank you Vicuna, Torgone.
When we have babblefest, I would like to nominate "pestoed" to be a word. I think that "pestoed" is the past tense of something that you do to a noodle.
Hi everybody !
mab - i couldn't get it either, but now did.... don't feel like you are alone!
I quite agree.
Funny how Babble pushes you to new levels and beyond ..
Hi Temple!
welcome Temple! And how are ye tonite?
Hi Temple...
Hi Temple!
te 7/48????
Hi Temple!
I'm good! hope you all are, too.
te7 - pl of second largest state in the 50
plural of your te 5/20 mamabear
Pl of the state, mb.
mama - plural of your te5
Hi all
Take a big state in the south and pluralize it.
Hi anti.
Would you like something more specific, mb?
ahhhh - we head "north" with that word instead of "south".... got it. thanks.
Torgone, no hint for te7? It seems to be the secret word of the day.
the secret word? Look out for the bird!
It's been covered. Do you have the te5? Make it a plural. Don't think of it as a state, but just a thing.
the alst two sp words elude me - anyone have a clue to share?
If you say the secret word, the duck will come down and poop on your head.
exactly... that's why I said "look out for the bird".... sorry no as far as the sp's yet.
thanks, mama. my connection is very fragile - got kicked off site twice tonight. hoping to finish this one! oh - also need the ps....
help on st 6 21 please?
Me too but I only have 150 so far..
Mishele: Put this in google or onelook: "The innermost of the three small bones of the middle ear, shaped somewhat like a stirrup".
st6/21 = "The innermost of the three small bones of the middle ear, shaped somewhat like a stirrup"
ty torgone
and ty ohro too
Guess I'm getting slow, ohro. Love the quote in your profile, btw.
thanx ohro, torgone...
"how love fled" I'm going to go have a tiny cry now ..
Thanks Torgone. I found out last night that there are a lot of people who babble and also like poetry. The poem on Mamma's profile is one that she wrote. Lianakate also writes poetry.
Hey everyone, I'm back to chat and maybe finish -- 99 to go
Glad your back GW, I have 99 also but running short on time.....
Hey Grey! How's it going?
hi, greywoulf
I'm missing one of the first two po5/16's. I have the doggie. Can anyone help with the other?
vicuna - one way to cook an egg
Vicuna - A way to cook an egg.
not bad, ohrom -- I had the day off so spent the day babbling and wrestling with my daughter among other mundane tasks Schroeder - we shall race towards the finish together
Oh, thanks so much! Coincidentally, one can also cook fish that way, I believe, the better to then get whacked with!
How have you been, Owl? I've missed you the past coupla days
That sounds like a nice way to spend a day.
It is, ohrom, my only regret is tha tI didn't get outside today for more than a short walk -- it was gorgeous! I will rectify that tomorrow
took some time off, wolf. no time for babble at work or at home :(
Sorry to hear that, Owl. Hopefully just busy, and not anything worse?
Yeah, I ate lunch outside with some friends. It was a beautiful day. It was about 70 degrees at lunchtime in NY. I assume PA was about the same.
GW that would be fun, I'm sure we would work well together, but I have to leave to teach a class soon...:(
Yeah, it hit 72 by me, ohrom Schroeder -- we'll get as far together as we can then
GW - I would race you but you would win. You have quite a head start on me!
lovely day here, nearly 70. had to take time off for dentist then goofed off the rest of the afternoon...
MAMA -- the race is us against the clock, not each other
does anyone have mo4/6?
I'm jealous of all of your good weather, we had rain and low 60's. No snow yet, but I'm sure it will be soon....
Well in THAT case....
And MAMA, you are the one who helped me get to miss by one when I had 40 words missing with less than an hour to go the other night (others contributed as well, but you were the key)
It was in the 70's here today. And I am sitting by an open window as we speak. The breeze is like a summer evening!
aww... watching Calendar Girls while I am doing this... it's sad!
temple - mo** of transportation
pie ala mo4/6
No need for jealousy, Schroeder, the rain is coming in the next couple of days --- we all get our turn
GW - well it was a very rare night when I was done and could help - was exciting to be on that side for a change!

I think I need a plan. I skip around so much and get side tracked - I think I waste alot of time....
That's kind of the whole point of the game, Mamabear . . .
MAMA - the plan is to have fun, everything after is gravy ;)
I guess I said that wrong... I have a plan... I just need to focus!!! fatigue and merlot setting in.. somebody wake me up!!!
Mama: don't feel bad. I just spent 5 minutes trying to find mo6/24. I already had mo6/24 and I think I even gave someone a clue for it earlier. : ) The mind is the first thing to go..........

Dianne - it's the sound a pigeon makes with an h in th emiddle
Merlot, now that's a different story. enjoying that as we speak.
Nope. I am almost immune to coffee at this point. I have one of those jobs where everyone is a workaholic and if you leave before 8:00 PM, people think you are lazy. We all live on coffee there. We have a kid who runs to the not-a-starbucks downstairs and keeps the mochachino's coming.
Please, can anyone help me with Sp 5/16. It is the last word I need to finish the grid and I am stumped.
Thanks to all for th ehelp on the Co word. Mish - think "looking/seeking".
se 6 24 help please?

I don't drink with anyone other than good friends, MAMA
