Hi folks, just checking to see what the board is like before I have to turn in -- early shift at Lenscrafter's tomorrow
(better than the 3 stooges)
lurkers four...
;)
hi gw -
Hi everyone -- another smallish one.
we three queens
Hi Griff ruff - done packing? Hi cybernan!
As opposed to those described by the other spelling.
yep, done packing. only had to jump on the suitcase a few times to get it closed.
when do you have to hit the road?
It would seem on this board that the I's have it :)
pretend to work from home until noon, pick up hubby at work, drive to vegas with dogs, drop off dogs, redeye flight at midnight.
Sounds like a long day, ruff
I have all c's so far
yes, it will be a double day...tomorrow and redeye flight followed by Thursday, hope to sleep on the plane
di 8/60....wow
I'm all over the board -- but have found 56 already
only at 32, but catching up fast
haven't found the 8's and only hve 2 of the 7's
I have attempted to make ides at least three times!!
same here with orion
and ionic
51 words!
60
66 - but none of the biggies other than the q7.
There's an o 6/27 and an o 7/40. Just found them to my surprise. :D
o/7 40 o/7 36
hitting the wall at 60.
cant find the big Os or the big Di....
I've made it to 68 would love to get the O's and Di myself before turning in...
di8: Loss of honor, respect, or reputation; shame. to di****** the family
zubie - found your o6 & 7 :D
hints on the o's?
I'm on 72 now. Haven't found the di. But I'm happy with myself because, for the first time, I have come this far without asking for clues or having a list! :D
WHEEEEEEEEEEEE Got the big Os! I found them... someone buy me flowers!
way 2 go, zubie
ruff - hothouse flower
ruffho - one o is a rare flower and you'll get the other o from its plural
duh. thanks.
Great work, zubie!!
o6 X 2
disleach? LOL
Thanks, Grey Woulf, ruffh2o. :)
co7/40 co8/55
Thx for the di, ruff
well, tuva, you got the first 3 letters.
LOL only five to go!
DOH! Found it... lol
Only five words left to find, Tuva? Wow!
LOL... only five LETTERS left to find in that word.... (I found all of them, by the way)
LOL, Tuva. And there I was, stunned into a stupefied :o expression! :D I thought you'd completed the grid already! And I found the di word at last. Doh is right! :)
Do you think Brandyjack has deserted this evening?
Tuva, are you a pastafarian?
Have you been touched by His Noodly Appendage?
He posted on the board the other day that the only thing that will interfere with him posting the list is if he is afflicted by a migraine
I have! Ramen, Claudia
At Brandyjacks post there is a message that he will post the list 6 hours after the game starts
the big COs are now annoying me
Yay, I got the co7 & 8!!! Now I can go to my much needed rest... Tuva - think in terms of the ear
co - part of the inner ear nite GW
Good Night/Morning to all (*hugs to whoever wants one*) TTFN
(*extra hug for ruff cos of her long day tomorrow*)
terms in the ear... Ok Stick it in your ear... Shove it in your ear... Hey Big Ears! There's a banana in your ear... ...... this is not helping....
big smile
Thank you Tuva!
any hints for Q7/44 ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Mousakka, look at all those punctuations at the end of your note...
Tuva - remember those icky science classes. That clue was great. Thanks, ruffh2o
yes mousakka, you asked?? (that's a hint)
Questions, questions, questions.
Finally got the co's after googling inner ear.
eeeeeuww (creepy mental picture)
hail to all just starting in..... any hazards so far....??
84 and I shall have to be humble and ask for help. Does anyone know how many q, a and e words are in this grid?
Don't care to have your ears googled, Griff?
What you do in the privacy of your ear is your business. Just wash your hands before returning to work.
any clue for q7/40 ?
12 E's, 2 Qu's
Lol, Griffums!
Mousakka, all of our responses a minute ago *were* clues to your request....
Thanks, mab.
gosh, I'm glad you wrote that list, mab, because i started to and my eyes fuzzed.
Wait, sorry Zubie -- 11 E's (really bad at arithmetic)
see THAT's why I didn't try... ;D
no, it is 12 Es...
News flash --- 12 E's. Really and definitely.
14 a's
12 E;s is right one in each left corner and 10 in the middle
And I've got just 7 a's and 6 e's. :s
0 W's.
does anyone know what happened to the Chat section at Bab anon ??
Speaking of babble anon - I am trying to get a log in there and I can't. I fill the form and am not able to log in, even when I get confirmation that I have an account created.
zubie did you try refreshing the screen.//// and double check your password etc.....
2 ac 2 ae 9 ar 1 au
3 ea 2 ec 1 ed 1 eg 3 el 2 er
I did, Blaze. I have never been able to log in but I've not had a failed registration. And I just checked there. Apparently the Chat section has been deleted: swmbo2000 Re: Announcement " I deleted the General Chat and Archive Forums as they were superfluous"
Oooh thanks for that list, ruffh2o!
does anybody want other lists before I go?
I'm bushed and still have 67 to go, calling it quits for now. Good night all -
'Night, Griffums. Are you going, ruffh2o?
good nite griff

I'm stalled at 96 too, cybernan. Also thinking of waiting for a list. 'Night. :)
hi all
hi everyone! just came home from school.. and guess what's the first thing i do? turn on my computer and log onto babble! :)
renee your an addict too
guilty as charged. ;D
its so quiet in here tonight
yes it is. everyone's gone...
I'm here. Stuck on 106 and just staring glassily at the grid ;)
zubie you are way a head of me
TAC - are you babbling yet?
106. way way way ahead of me.
I've been here a while though and you've only just logged in.
TAC - obviously not! Might 'see' you on here later! Hope Nats ok. Have a good day ;-)
131 now and just resurfacing to look around.
still here. but not really searching. trying to get some homework done so mom stops bugging me.
i've got 30 but not really into the game tonight
144 and I will have to wait for the stats list now. I am well and truly stuck.
zubie, I've just stuck at 133 wonder if we can work them out together?
Do you know which ones you are missing?
Ok, FMitch. Let's see whether we can.
I'm missing an ar but I don't have any letter or point count for any of the words.
Missing four ca's; two ch's and an re, too. What are you missing? Let me see whether I can help you out.
I am missing the same as you by the look of it plus a few others, will plod on for a wile and let you know when I catch you up, have to go to a meeting soon too :(
Ok, FMitch. See you soon.
If you have an idea of which letters you're missing, I could help out with clues, perhaps.
LOL just going through working out which ones I am mssing, I know one of them is the d8, I've got the c8
Fmitch you could be in d....... for missing the d8
mari - that worked a treat, thanks
zubie, if you are still out there got all the re's: 5/14, 5/12, 4/6, 6/21
I'm here, FMitch.
you were missing an re earlier, hope that helps. Im missing 1 ri
Got the re. I was missing the re4! Thanks, FMitch. Do you need clues for anything, anyone?
List of ri's would be good
g'mornin, all. Just checking in. Can't stay too long; but, it looks like a toughie to me. Maybe I just need some coffee.
Ok, FMitch. Coming up!
Morning gramma, actually it's not too bad by babble standards but then again I am looking at if from the other end (nearly there).
ri 4 5 ri 5 12 ri 4 6 ri 6 24 ri 4 5 ri 4 5 ri 4 4
I think I'll excuse myself and brush my teeth and pour some coffee. bbs
thanks zubin, it is the 6/24 I am missing, will go hunting. Am at 144 now with a's and c's left to find.
Have you all the ar's, FMitch?
missing 2 ar's, 3 ca and 3 ch
You've caught up with me! :D I'm on 145 and missing some ar's, ca's and ch's!
Let me find the ri6 and then I'l post what I have incase we have different ones (got till 11.30 and then gotta go)
I'm missing one ar. Here's the list of ar's I have: ar 4 6 ar 6 24 ar 7 36 ar 4 5 ar 5 14 ar 4 5 ar 4 4 ar 5 10
i have an ar5/16
3 missing ch's, too. And four errant ca's! ca 6 24 ca 7 36 ca 4 5 ca 6 24 ca 4 5 ca 5 12
I have another ca5/12
ch5/16 ch5/16 ch6/27 ch5/14 ch4/6 ch5/14 I am missing 3 too.
zubie did you get the ar5/16?
Got the ar 5 at last, Poo's Mum. Thanks. Don't know how I didn't see it. Got the ca 5, too, FMitch. Thanks.
i was gonna say let's not fight about it!
3xca, 3xch to find and 10 mins to do it!!
Lol, Poo's Mum. :) You know, I saw that word many times but I kept pronouncing it wrongly and so it didn't seem like a word! Doh!
2 ch's and three ca's left.
beaten by the clock, have to go, zubie good luck finishing.
Thanks, FMitch. Hope to see you when you're back.
Got another ch 5 14! One left and then the ca's!
zubie one's like sa country one's part of who you see with a bad back the last are singers in church
Zubie sa = south america
Hi all! There's a ch4/7 as well
Got all the ch's now, davetins. Looking for three ca's. Here's what I have so far: ca 6 24 ca 7 36 ca 4 5 ca 6 24 ca 4 5 ca 5 12 Have you any others? (The last ch I was missing was a ch 7/36 but I have it now) ca 5 12
another ca5/12 different end letter
I need the second ca6/24
I have it; got cut off from that list I posted.
Do you need a clue for it, davetins?
That would be helpful TY
One would say it of teeth which need a dentist's attention urgently, davetins.
Stats list finally posted at Babblers Anonymous.
Do you need another clue for that?
zubie, I have ca6/24 7/36 6/24 4/5 4/5 5/12 5/12 but not the dental one yet
davetins - imagine teeth which aren't very healthy and need fillings. How would you describe them? By the way, I got the ca's I was missing. Done now. :D
TY Zubie
You're welcome, davetins. I'll be here for a while if anyone needs clues.
congratulations zubie!
Thanks, Poo's Mum! The missing ca's were easy ones, wouldn't you know it! :)
Ooops. I mean, Poo's Mom. Sorry about the spelling earlier.
LOL that's how it always seems to me!
that's fine zubie. mum works just as well!
And I have to wait 17 hours before I can babble again? Not fair! :) Addicted to this!
LOL Zubie... seems a common affliction here...
On the plus side I have 17 hours yet to finish!
That too, Poo's Mom! :) Do you need clues for anything?
are there 3 ca6/24's?
Thanks, but not now Zubie. What I should be doing is getting ready for work....and a thunderstorm seems to be getting serious here....so I'll be back later. Happy babbling everyone!
I think there's 4 ca6/24s, Eva I could use a clue for the second ca6-7 pair...?
I'm not sure about the order of things. Do you have the crabs and the undoing?
got those - the pair (if it is a pair) come after the crab and before worry
Just looked it up again and there are indeed 4 ca6/24's (sigh) and 2 ca7's I don't have the worrying one...
the worry one is the first ca4/5
Right - so the 3 I have are the crab, the tooth decay and the undoing. Time to go hunting I guess.
me too - and I can't find the last one for the life of me!
Does anyone have a hint for that elusive ca6/24?
Clue for the second ca 6-7 pair: The first part is a vehicle and the second part is a shortened battery.
I was talking about one word. Sorry about the haziness of the clue!
ca 6/24 dispose of a motor maybe
Understood the clue, zubie, but I still don't get it - first part is ok (unless you travel in small metal containers), but I can't get the second part to fit. Either on the g4/7 or to Brandyjack's list ...
amanda - vehicle plus your ce 4/5 without the last letter of that
Okay, got it - thanks zubie. Very illuminating! Anybody got a fish yet?
Morning everyone!
Hi mickie!
Today's fish is an s4/5
Hi Zubie! How's the babbling today?
Ok. Does anyone need a clue before I log out?
It's good, mickie! I'm through! :)
Good for you! I'm just starting.
Good luck, mickie! :)
Zubie, before you go, a hint please for the 8's
Thanks!
help with any of the co's? I only have the co 4/5
Zubie, Any clue for ri6/24 please
doraphilia, hane a nice cup of co**
Ok gramma. co 8 55 has to do with the anatomy of the ear It's a di 8 60 to not figure out this one! ;D Any other 8's you need?
gramma i love your icon
ty Zubie. I'll work on that for awhile
ri 6 14, davetins - It's a kind of braided trim
Sorry, typo. ri 6 24, davetins. Not ri 6 14. I hit the wrong key! :/
great clues for the 8s zubie! got em both right away. :)
thnaks for that one, zubie - haven't heard that word in ages!
Thanks Shorty. That's my grandbaby, eleanor
thank you for the hints!! anatomy of the ear? I am confused... and I don't get the di one either! I am clueless, it seems..
how old is she she soooooo cute
dont feel bad dora niether do i get the di clue
She's 3 months and she is sooo beyond cute. She has given me a new lease on life.
i know i have a 10 month old grandson and he is the cutest thing and soooooooo smart for 10 mon. old
dora, the di builds on the g5/16, the co is a kind of implant that restores partial hearing
doraphilia - In KG, to be sent to the corner and told to wear the clown's cap is to be di 8(d)
davetins, did you get the elusive ri6 24 yet?
She's too wee to be smart yet. But she sure is sweet. All giggles, bubbles and smiles.
I love em my daughter has another one due in feburary its another boy i just love em soooo much i could eat em
Zubie, just this minute monkey typing, never heard of this one Thanks anyway only 7 to go now
I thought the DI was in the g5/16. Is there another g5/16? I am so lost! thanks everyone for the help!
I understand completely. Your very lucky to have another on the way. I will be content w/1 for now. She'll be my practice grandchild.
OHHHHH I GOT IT
Monkey typing? But I had given you a clue for that one, davetins! :(
Hehe, doraphilia! Isn't it a di 8 that it hid for so long? ;D
Doraphilia, What can you tell us about that di? I got the ch but the di is alluding me.
sorry Zubie, I'll do better next time!!!
if something is a di8, it is shameful, humiliating. and it builds on a g5/16 that is also a woman's name.
You had better, davetins! [sternly] ;D
DOH! What an idget....ty. It was right there.
oHHHHH got it ty for clues
Hey my states in here but..... cant use it OH....IO
oh I have to go to wally world be back later see ya all happy babbling
My town was in a puzzle this week, wasn't valid though... still cool!
Just got the di8... I was thinking much worse from your clue, dora, LOL!
See ya, Shorty. Nice chatting w/you.
Ok everyone. Any other clues needed before I leave?
Zubie, you've done all I asked. TY
hey zubie, one more, the ch 7?? thanks!

You're welcome, dora. Ok everyone. I'm out of here now. See you all for the next puzzle! :)

Congrats, davetins. :) I'm out of here now.
Good Morning all-have an hour to kill & what better way to do it!!!!??? How is everyone?
I'm outta here, too... gotta go make the donuts a few hours but will be back this afternoon!
Morning everyone! Did anyone check my profile to see that my age changed today? :)
woo hoo, happy birthday jen ;)
Happy Birthday Jen! Mine was Sunday - 32
Happy Birthday Jen- Make sure to enjoy 'your' day!!
Thanks everyone!! Hubby is coming home off a business trip today, so most of the day will be spent picking up the mess I made when he was gone. LOL
ooh! i'm kinda late. but happy birthday jen!
anyone have a clue for qu7/44
e-gurl-- glad you qu7; asked
my next-to-the-last word is a fish! Now I just have to figure out where I miscounted... grrr
oh! g'day to all.
qu7: asked, inquired
Good morning all and Happy BD Jen
afternoon all
man. i hate not focusing. i'm not babbling properly. but i'm not doing my homework properly either. no wonder i stay up late every night trying to finish both babble and homework. :(
clue for ar 5/14 or ar 5/16?
renee, I'm not focusing either! I gave up on practically all the ca6/7s cause I just wasn't seein' them!
ar5/16: fight with someone verbally
got 5/14
got 5/16 too i'm telling you, they should call this pulling a hurshy
Okay, hursh. We will.
thanks anyway joelgee. i had overlooked that third letter possibility, is all. once i saw it, i was ok.
mustn't babble anymore now anyway - class to teach - see you later joel
okay. whenever someone misses a 3rd letter possibility, we'll call it pulling a hurshy. Sheesh!
should start work too. Later, Hursh.
Hi there, all of you. Home from work and ready for a nice word hunt.
has anyone noticed that it has been a very dark puzzle just about every day this week?
Yes, I did, and wondered about it too. Strange, isn't it, how often words repeat for days in a row, and then disappear for weeks on end?
very much so strange, it is the first word I saw today (just getting in to work and finished the pre-stuff)
I always wonder about those things. I was also puzzled by one of the grids of last week, the one with all the sound words. Onopatopes (or how do you call them) and words related to making sounds and such, about 10 or more in one grid. And none of those in other grids.
Morning all... I got a good dose of nostalgia from this puzzle today -- it contains the first and last names of my high school boyfriend!! :)
How sweet, Bugzy!
onomatopoeia.......... (I don't know the plural for it)
Unfortunately, both proper names so neither are valid words!
My bet is it takes an -e for plural, lol. Wouldn't that be a great word to find in a grid?
onomatopoeiae is the plural.
Hm, speaking of grids... sorry!
on13/ ??? That would be a good one. Love the new picture of Scout! Too cute :)
scouts, isn't there at least 2 i's on the end of that?
is that a pic of scout???? for some reason I can't see it clearly...
Bugzy, I found a proper name C4 that is valid... perhaps you should try your boyfriend's name as well ;)
bad musician reference.... rico.... suave....
Found that one too, Sprite...I tried both his names -- neither worked, although there is a cr4/5 that sounds like his first name :) Thanks, mtn - now I will have that @$%^ song in my head all morning!!
Good morning everyone - only here for an hour as today is the beginning of our chocothon (5 friends come over and we make our Christmas chocolates).
*grabs a plane to cybernan at once!*
mtn, she's running with balloons.
Mmmm.... chocothon.... Bring us some when you're done Cybernan :)
Cybernan, you're killing me. You don't have your shopping done already, do you?
Sprite, if you don't mind the asking, what titles have your published (I read an extensive amount of fantasy)? And, how cool are you for being a mom, part time worker and an author? WOW!
Okay, this ca6 & 7 is killing me... could I have a clue, please, maybe a third letter, perhaps? TIA!
The ca 6 is a dread disease, depending on where it strikes, not quite so dread in some places
Jera, it's an auto + battery
Oh, sorry... I have (the first) one... it's the other ca6's I need... 2 more? Yikes. I'll be happy with a 7 clue... don't want to be a bother...
mtnjock: only two, and only in Holland. Translation is too expensive, they say, to run the risk. First book was titled 'Jirelle'. And cool??? Try overworked, lol. But thanks :D
*makes mental note to get Halloween pictures developed before Christmas*
hi. workbreak. momentary pop-in to say hi.
Cybernan, I like your icon... is it to honor the Veterans?
Hi!
Okay, got the 2 ca6's that there were clues for (auto+battery and disease)... but what's the other? C'mon help the b-day girl out! :)
no, way cool! I have only done the story boards for one comic book mini series here in the US and it took forever to work out... my co-writer did every thing important... and that was years, years ago... my imput was the plot and time lines... What is Jirelle about?
Jen: take ca word for toted - subtract an R
*stares blankly at gramma* Battery? I'm getting a headache... sorry...
jera-- forget battery. think portable phone in pocket. Drop last consonant.
Jera, carry on, carry over, carry (past tense, minus r)
Good grief, how many ca6's are there??? I have that one, too, Temple...
mtnjock: http://www.jirelle.nl/en/fanta sy-woman.php (but then without the spaces), if you like to take a look.
Thanks, joelgee... finally got it...
how many would you like Jera?
i need two more ca 6's. have the auto+battery and the disease one...
Just one more, please... I have 3 ca6/24's...
I know one word for car battery, 'accu', and now I am getting insane trying to make those two Cs meet!
I don't know if it's an American thing, but I would have never gotten that hint from battery. Portable phone worked for me...
Finally! Done with the dreaded Ca's!! Now I can move on with life, such as it is!
Oh criminy, I just checked, they are all ca6/24...
Yay for Jen!! Did you enjoy your Starbucks Monday? Sorry I missed you...
I have the disease, the auto+battery, & past tense of tote... can someone help me with the other ca6/24?
Wasn't too bad Jera. We'll try it again some other time. Are you and the kids feeling better?
Jera, I could kiss you! Mobile phone worked for me too!
i'm with you, jera...missing ca7 & ca6 that are numbers 2 and 3 on the ca list... p.s. happy birthday!
sorry - happy birthday to JEN!!!
I'm out of bed & Babbling, so that's progress... Sprite went to school, although she was moving slow... who knows with Gwyd, he just runs full speed til he drops. He did sleep until 9:30 this morning...
Only 54 days til my birthday!!
Jen, it's your birthday? Congratulations!
Thanks everyone!! Jera, that's how Ethan is too. Go go go... i couldn't get him down to sleep until like 10 last night!
Jera, I wrote a check, and now I don't want it cashed, so I will ca6/24 it! (usually on your computer to save, or ca6/24)
Sprite, we better not... Joelgee might get jealous... but I'm glad my getting his clue worked for ya!
happy birthday Jen!!!!!
still lost on the mobile phone tho... ;)
mtnjock: mobile phone or word for what they put you in in prison, with one letter less.
Instead of mobile phones and batteries... think of a spread sheet. You have columns and rows and each little block is called a ...
ahhhh then thats the one I thought Jera needed....
I still need that last ca6/24... or did I miss a clue??
i need a last c6 too...
ca6 i mean
no jera - still waiting for some kind soul to take pity on us .. * sob*
tee hee my hubby's real name is in here today! :)
Just saw your clue, mtnjock... noodling in progress...
I got the same ones as you have, also still missing the 4th :(
Got the first ca6... when there aren't enough people watching a TV show, the network ca6s it...
How the heck do you end it, mtnjock? ed, es, & et won't work!
i am missing the 2nd and third ca words - ca7 and ca6 - and jera is missing the same ca 6 - we got all of the ones that were clued thanks : )
Best clue I saw for the ca6 that gave me heartburn was think "toted" and take out one of the r's... no def, but it sounds like something to do with bad teeth.
i have the ca6 bugzy was hinting at, the auto+battery one, and the toted minus an r one. so which am i missing? *confused*
Darn, found them. Can't believe I found the automobile + battery one and did not see this one. Think of making an appointment and finding out you can't make it... then you Ca6 it.
THAT'S IT!!!! tyvm, Bugzy!!
renee, do you have the really bad disease? The "big C"?
disease? what disease?
You know, it might have helped if I'd had mine in alphabetical order, LOL
OH! i found it! wah. so obvious. *oops* thank you!
smoking causes ca....
You have 80 words left to find. Can't be! 80 more in THIS grid???
How many ca7's are there??
ohcrap. it's like, 11:42 pm here. and i still havn't finished my homework. argh. it's just that babble is soo much more interesting!
2
That's the fascinating thing to me about this game... finding hundreds of words in a 5x5 grid. Simply amazing.
how many more cs shall we c this week!
I really need help with si's. I've gone babbleblind.
To me too, and it can be as bad as 600+!
I only had one on my list, luckily I found the other by accident (always pluralize, even if it makes no sense)!
any clues on the di8...plz
looking through log and cannot find the vaunted auto battery clue. is that the one between the ca 4/5s? if so, i have it. i think i need the 3rd ca6.
I'm c-sick... yuk, yuk, yuk!
Good 1, Jera
<<< groan>>> that was baaaaad Jera!
I have the 4th Ca6 between Ca4/5 x2. The 3rd one is the automobile + mobile phone one.

me too jera, we shall c!
di8 - prefix meaning out of + gr 5/16
thanks, sprite. that cleared up my confusion. renee - i teach calculus - can i help?
ca garbage ca*=phone.....ca**** the dreaded big "C" disease
ty cyber...got it
ca**** toted minus 1 r.
thanks hurshy, but it's not hard. it's just so repetitive! i'm sick of doing problem after problem of derivatives... especially if they're all almost identical.
a clue for the co8/55? pleasee??
Did those ca's help or hinder?
CO8 is an implanted device to help hearing
I'm working on the 2 ce5/14's now...
renee - too bad you're not in my class. i don't assign specific hw probs, i just tell the students to do whatever it take to make sure they get it.
ce 5/14....rhymes with thank you in french
Thanks, Ouw! Same letters for other one... done with ce!
o'chita anticipating my need. how about the other one?
OK enuf about your needs. Gramma's dying on the vine here. I only have 2si words 4/5 and 4/4. Help, please???
oh, thanks to jera.
Gramma, it's the prce you pay for being so far ahead... I haven't even printed out my worksheet to the s's, LOL!
sorry, gramma - i work alphabetically, so can't help you yet. :)
whomever posted the merci clue, danke...
thanks anyway
si 5/12 - s + i 4/5
co6-co7 combo: we had to ca**** the game due to rain. co7 is the plural. c8: part of the inner ear (google it)
another si 4/5 - A young herring other than a sprat that is processed as a sardine in Norway. si5/12 to move sideways si6/21 one who moves sideways
Make that last clue the c7-c8 combo (add a consonant to c7 for the c8)
Cybernan, that's for Ca, not for Co, I think...
thanks cybernan!
Thanks jessmom!
Oooh, 4 more words for me from those hints!
LOL Cybernan, that was fast! And the fishy thing is back, how wonderful :)
Thanks Cyb. I needed all 4 of those. I just started. Great way to start. All 6s, 7s, and 8s. No 4s yet.
Minski, I lack the willpower to not do 4's until last...
Hello all
shows what babble does to you - i just put in co5 monkey typing, in my head pronouncing it as two syllables, prefix and ending, before realizing it was a very easy word!
hi tsm.
Hello everyone :)
Lol hurshy, I sympathize completely! Hi ToeSockMonkey... lots of monkeytyping needed for this one!
6Su nnnnnnnb nw`qqasr3w34mb ,m XPOLq/ Paige says hi
Hey Anj!
Okay, 66 words to go. I need to do some major clean up around here so I'll be back in a while! Don't give good clues without me! LOL :)
hi hurshy, toes, anj : )
Bye Jen... clean some for me, LOL!
now i feel brilliant, for i knew co7 and 8 from the inner ear clue with no googling.
Paige, darling, hi! You are beginning to be tough competition to your mom, I see!
I've been trying to spell roach all morning...
hi temple!
Some sneaky words in this one today :/ Hi Sprite, Temple :)
i'm done with the r's. now... 8 more words and ten thousand pages of homework left to do.

Oh, brag, renee... I'm still muddling through the blasted c's... 5 to go... grrrr
If 'haha' is a word, then why not 'hihi' and 'hoho'? They are rather in season, right?
any help on the ch7...plz
A haha is a type of ditch-thing though. Hohos and hihis aren't LOL
i've got 55 words to find and i'm getting seriously annoyed!!! Hi All
and if all those other latin words are permissible, why not hodie?
a Hoho is a tasty cake
I am just so glad I am not the only one who tried hodie :)
Gotta respect copyrights, though...
two words left. both c's. .sigh. ch 7/36 and co 5/16 hints anyone?
hey bubbles ! long time no "c" : D
ch 7 beginning of singing group (not ch5 exactly) plus atom with wrong number of electrons
Tuva, what is your icon? I'm frightened!
co 5/16 i won't tell you because you'll kick yourself
co 5/16 - the guy who trains the kids on the school football team.
Jera, have you been touched by His Noodly Appendage? And why is CHILEAN not a word?
cybernan has no regard for people's self-respect. :)
i wondered that too, tuva. i was quite proud when i found it.
hurshy. you're right. i am kicking myself now. well. not really. more like banging my head against my huge pile of homework.
i think i know first 3 letters of di8. but need a clue.
proper noun, Tuva -- really got to go - my friend will be here soon to start the chocolates and I'm still in my PJ's!
if you have the first 3 letters hurshy, add it to gr 5/16
hurshy, if you don't know the di8, you are a di8 to us all, lol.
Tuva... er, um... I suppose not...?
see, i didn't have gr5 yet on account of my alphabetical method. so you've given me two words! tyvm!
Jera, if you have not been touched by His Noodly Appendage then you do not know The Truth.
Argh! Blasted C's...Do they ever end??? Oh, Hi everyone! :)
*hangs head in di8*

Yay gramma!

i'm on the e's, SDBG.
Jera, and the C's are mostly 5 & 6 letter words too! Oh, the horror! Can blast out most of the 4 letter words, but need to improve my skills on the bigger words...
Jera, it's ch5/16 w/a vowel on the end
as much as i hate to leave. i really must get started on my homework.ouch. but i'll still hang around for anyone who needs me. :)
ty, gramma... coulda sworn I tried that (I should have that tattooed somewhere)...

Only 3 c's to go & they are all 4 letter words... not those kind of four letter words, though...

ok sprite, you better tell me there is an english version of these books somewhere! They sound interesting!

do you think it's time for lunch when you keep seeing words like ganache and deli that aren't really there...
I'll do anything to avoid these dishes in the sink. But, if you don't have any specific wants or needs, I'll go.
WTG Ouwachita!
How about ar62/4... I'm just not seeing it... Thanks!
ar6/24 is built on the ar4/6...then pluralize it for the ar7
ar4/6+not well...drop the last letter
good morning everyone....does anyone have a clue for the er5?
Whoo-hoo... after those horrible c's I needed to breeze through the d's & e's!!
Thank you... thought I had monkeyed that, but I guess not!! :)
I just found it, Tban... it's a girl's name...
i'll have to look that up for sure
2 girl's names so far in the grid today...
i meant the meaning. thanks Jera
Also, 2 fish (I think the or4 is a fish?)...
And at least 3 boys' names too! (Only one is valid, tho)
er5: A genus of shrubby plants, including the heaths, many of them producing beautiful flowers
Time for a pumpkin ice cream break...
Jera, Can you give me a clue for the ch7/36??? I'm stuck...
or4 is whale methinks.....really hard to write with fat furry friendly cat draped over me and the keyboard...purring to his hearts content....

Hello, everybody. Little work break.
Hi Temple Owl...:)

tbear, hi! :) Kimm, there have been a lot of clues on that one. Just scroll down.
And Une! Long time no see :) Joelgee, I am right with you.
Well, how about this? I have a personal relationship with God.
oh, and my ex, who's a hairstylist, goes to Al Gore's house on a regular basis to cut and style his hair--apparently Al sleeps thru the whole thing!
Thanks Sprite, I'll do that.
Oh my brother has spanish ex girl friend who was invited by David Bowie to go to his room AND DIDN'T GO...and then went out with my brother...whose lovely BUT...
Sprite-- Much envy of, and admiration for, you. Working on 1st novel. 141 pages on 'puter plus handwritten stuff that I need to type yet.
Funny how many writers (& aspiring ones) there are who play this game!
Uneaixoise...it's me and you girl......Hi Sprite
But writing is FUN, Joelgee! :) I love every minute of it. Well... almost every minute. But I must admit I write on the 'puter directly, not by hand. I would hate to retype it.
Hey everyone :)
I have 3 books in the works, I am writing & my daughter is illustarting... whatta team!
Jera, I don't think you can write if you don't love language. It certainly is related. And making a story or novel into a complete piece of work is a puzzle in itself :)
Greeting, MF! How are you today?
Dishes are done. Dog needs walk before my honey comes home for lunch. Any quick clues, I could give?
ive just seen the president of france ch6!
Whiplash and baaad headache from drumming, but otherwise okay...how are you?
test
I find when I retype, it's almost like doing a 2nd draft. I add, broaden, etc. Depends on what I'm doing. Sometimes, I find the tactile pen on paper feel helps. Also, I can access the creative back brain while doodling or such. Phrases come to mind or character descriptions. Depends on how much I'm channelling (if you know what I mean). I try not to think about selling or publishing, just writing a story that I'd like to read.
Now I want to make channel.
Getting over strep throat... can't imagine drumming, LOL! Fever gave me a hangover-like headache & I was dehydrated... well enough to Babble now, though, so yea!
hey, mf
thank goodness ! ...was unable to speak for ever so long...scary!
Anyway, sprite. I'm just saying . . .
Hey Joel, how are you? Jera, did you consider the hangover-like headache may have been a real hangover? Specially after a night on babble...
hey Une, what are you doing Saturday?
Well, I don't have a bad headache and whiplash.
I truly believe that is the only way, Joelgee. Just write what one wants to write, that makes the best stories. I reread my own work a thousand times and make changes, usually removing parts, and I love the way text editors facilitate that process.
hi miyavi! : )
OK I get it. You're too busy chatting. I'll check in later.
A good start, I guess
Hey Temple! Good day?
I can't write directly on the computer either joel...for me writing need to be organic and pen and paper is the only way..Leapt out of bed at 2am the other night, couldn't sleep with ideas in my head until i had commited them to paper...It's gr8,cheap therapy
great day...you?
I work in MS Word and recently discovered how much I like writing with the Comments function on. I can delete and play around with everything I took out in the little balloons.

Anyway, no words done during this break. Just chatting for now. Must return to daily toils. Back after 4ish EST. Later all y'all.
Before I really go, I guess it's not a surprise that among so many word people, more than a few writers. Def of writer: Someone who writes. Anybody know NANOWRIMO?

Woah...Temple, sorry to ignore you for so long, my internet connection went down! :( I had a goodish day, thanks :) The drum lesson made it bearable ^_^
any help with the E's would be fab!
There are two noble e's.
There's an almost slippery el 5.
ea 4 6 ea 4 4 ea 5 10 ec 4 6 ec 6 27 ed 5 12 eg 4 6 el 4 5 el 4 5 el 5 12 er 4 6 er 5 12
hmmm
my brain is numb today!
eg 4/6 Any help? I thought I tried every possible combination
allo?
eg - looks like a word meaning keen, but lose a vowel
Miyavi...something happened to me, also - chat log connection failed. drumming is a controlled temper tantrum, you know : )
I'm all for controlled temper tantrums!
smeltz- hola
6 words to go, they are all r's... 5's & 6's... *girds loins, spits on hands & staggers towards the finish line...*
Is the spitting on hands a hygiene requirement after the girding of loins?
YES! You're just lucky I didn't hike up my skirts...
How go the r's?
Temple, don't I know it! No better way to work off rage than to take it out on a bass drum :)
3 to go!
Fireworks are on standby...

Shorty...not me, a guy from a band I like! Who, er, is unfortunately dead
oh IM SORRY

miyavi, i stage managed a drummer act who did a supersized drum circle...everyone kept telling me i'd join in and - i did and had huge fun! over 150 mad drummers with every type of drum!
ca 6 and 7 - if you can't go somewhere you have to do something with a booking.
Now drum circles I like... very cool energy
smaller - take out the vessel and put in a vehicle : )
Hi guys, you all ok?

Hey Lotti :) Jera, when you're stressed, tying something loosely around your neck is supposed to relax you. Hide (the guy in my icon) tried that while drunk...ended up hanging from a bathroom door...:'(

Not yet Haz, is there just one q?
Lotti, aren't I always?
Always what Miyavi???
There are 2 - a 7/44 and a 5/16. The 5/16 is similar to a female ruler and the other qu is a word seeking knowledge. Sorry for the delay in replying!
2 qu's

hi all thought i'd do it alone but admit defeat on last li4/4 help me please?
ir5 please?
Stats, with or without feathers. Glad you're a bit better Torgone and that you were sensible and stayed home today. You know Emily Dickenson wrote 'hope is the thing with feathers,' and you've been quite featherless of late.
Don't know Haz, I just noticed Anj shot up the rankings even though he wasn't playing so I sent him an email asking if the rankings were random cos they seem barmy, if you don't play you win!
i mean ic 5?
reald world, that sounds good
ic 5 - fluid that runs in the veins of the gods
ps, sent Dr God an email that is
Is the last li4 the French word 'to read' coming after the former Italian currency?
haz me french no good
It ends in a vowel.
Yup, I noticed that. I didn't play for 4 days *gasps!* and stayed still, then the moment I complete a puzzle I jump up to 14th then 10th lol I shall have to not play more often ;)
Haz it's the only other vowel ending possible, it was my last word, it doesn't seem possible but it is
Anagram of an ri 4/4
hello, can someone please tell me how many words there are today???
no Anj, Dr God's changing it all, wonder how
153 words
Hello everybody :)
153 words.
from what i can tell, if you can't finish you shouldn't play...unless the puzzle is a big one, in which case you will either outscore or outlast the others!
153
Miy, who is your icon today?? Looks like Toyah...
hi lola.
thank you much, Karenth
hello lola :)
HELLO LOLA
Hi Lola :) Anj, it's Hide of X Japan :D Just my luck to get into a dead guy's music, hm?
HeLola :) ((xx))
haz i swear i tried that b4. keep havin 2 hit ctrl+f5 repeatedly to refresh. thats my storey! thnx lots :-)
Don't post words in the log, Anj. Sheesh! You'd think you knew that by now.
No problem!
Miy, aahhh...is that they guy that strangled himself??
Haz, have you got your last li4/4?
Welcome, dear hizzle rizzle. Do you know about babblers anon? Click on it under friends of bab at the right and you will find lots of info about the puzzle today under 'stats'
Whew! I made it back and just finished up the C's... Thank goodness they are out of the way!
Hola lola!
Yup :( Though you have to wonder how a person can strangle themselves by accident, really...crazy
Whoops! *embarrassed grin* The Babble log should have an auto-bleeper for words you type that are in the grid :) I am racked with remorse, racked I say...
Hey Miyavi, don't ignore me and don't strangle yourself
Miyavi - I wouldn't worry about being into a dead man's music...some of us are into people's music who are dead a LOT longer than your man.
Unrack yourself, anj. I was just waiting to pounce on somebody for that.
Ferrari, yes, I have the li4 okay.
jolly good Haz
rack, did someone mention rack?
Cheers Torg. Do we have a hangover from the big day then??
7 words left to go and i'm at a loss for words....
Hey babe :) (((xxx)))
I've been ill. Couldn't even enjoy a good hangover.
poor torgone, group hug
*checks log* Gah! Sorry Ferrari! I had a DeG pv in the background, I was trying to figure out exactly why Kyo was kissing the drummer. But I couldn't. Don't worry, I won't strangle myself...that's a rainy day activity :)
hope ypu feel better soon, that explains the sorry looking chick. chin up.......:)
Haz, I guess so...but I tend to get kinda hysterical about musicians I like, so it comes as a real shock to find one of them is dead
Lola, You find the best ic4/5's! Today's is beautiful!
Sorry to hear that Torgone. Feeling better now??
if anyone can help i'd appreciate it... i'm still looking for one ch 5/14/ i have the group of singers ch 7/36 de4/5 ic 5/14 oc 6/24 and the last oc 5/12 one of the ra 5/12 i have the annoying animal that rummages through garbage minus an o and that's all i need
Anyone need clues for the 7s??
But the important thing is that the music is there to be enjoyed.
Still not quite firing on all cylinders, but soon I'll be back to my old wise-cracking, pun-spewing, annoying self.
i could use a ch7 hint Anj
Yeah, you're right, Haz
Why thank you DBG! :)
nm on that de4 must have been on something
Tban - that ch7 - think of a word for a household task (ch5) and take off the last E. Then add a charged particle i3 :)
may i have a clue for the ic 5 word...pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese?
*lola raises her hand* Er, ca7? I have the one that sounds like an automobile and a battery :)
pluralize the first ca6/24
that's for u lola
i need help w/ the ic5 myself 72
Tban, if I had the ca6 I would...*sigh* :)
lola - when a tv show gets bad ratings it is ca****ed
ic word is an anagram of the word for a group of people singing.
Lo, ca6 - put something off, postpone??
ic5-14: watery discharge from a wound
ok the first ca6 is when you make an order and have changed ur mind then you ca6 it...sometimes there are fees

Thanks Anj :) You fish beater, you
Miy, in accordance with th usual HR policies, on of the employee benefits of being the Obvious Fish is at least 30 days holiday each year.
Babe, have you been hitting the vera lynn again??
The haddock says there is no record of any contract acknowledging the standard working rates for obvious fishes. He is now sueing for breach of trust
Tban, take your oc5/14 and add A vowel ;)
Anj - can I be the fish & get 30 days of vacation??? : )
one down 2 to go. still searching for the last oc5/12 and the last ra5/12
Hi all - supposed to be completeting a monthly report for work but have got half way through and now have a mental block..spot of babble will make the words flow again
Not to my knowledge babe :) Miy, tell the fish he doesn't know a good thing when he swims past it. I'm putting him in the typing pool and Eastern is taking over the OF duties :)
Hi cathb :)
The haddock says by his contract you must provide at least 30 days notice before relocating him
Hi, CathB. Ptuiii! Monthly reports taste like dead fish! I share your pain.
Hey Cath :)
...ah, did I not mention that takes effect in 30 days? He has to train Eastern in the OF standards & practices in the meantime :)
evening lola ,Miyavi ,Judi...I so hate these reports, supposed to have been in on the 1/11 and if i dont get a move on November's will be due .
Judi, you really aren't helping!
______ O |\__/ O \ O | __ ___\ 0 0 \/ \______/
oopss...that was supposed to be a fish - it looked right when I typed it...didn't transpose with the spacing issues!
ok 1 down one to go...any clues for the last ra5
what's that Eastern?
Whatever, my client is now taking you to court on grounds of emotional trauma, and screwing up his holiday schedule. His lawyers will be in touch
oh...better luck next time
Looks fine to me, Eastern..
It must be a surrealist fish, Eastern.

Youngster on E? *confused* *whispers to Haddock* I think Anj is cracking up, he doesn't realize 'miyavi_fan' starts with an M
tban - i see in the log that you just found that one recently yourself...
Hi hurshy - if you have the oc6/24, take out the H :) Miy, maybe I should have saud youngster plus E

you've got mud on your face, you big di8!
hurshy, lol! mo, sorry, still looking for that one myself :/
ri 6/24 = "a narrow zigzag ribbon used as trimming "
Mo, that one drove me nutz. Think of a phrase for curiosities, fancy stuff - b...-a-b.... and fill in the blanks for the r6
Wow, ri6, I haven't seen that word since home economics when I was 12.
LOLA I am so pleased that i am not the only one who cannot get it .....there must be someone!!!!
okay, gotta go work out the legalities with the haddock. See you all later :)
Oh, now that is just a stupid word!!! Thanks babe :)
Laters, M_fan.
later Miy. Thanks for keeping me honest lol :)
'bye miyavi :)
nothing personal, btw, jetgirl!
hi and bye miyavi!
Such a quaint word, ri6. In the US they used to make kids take home economics classes to teach us to be good little housewives. Was this the practice elsewhere in the world? I wonder...
ok, how about ra6? (if it's a word i should know, just tell me that and don't give me a clue)
ra6: main axis of attachment for leaves or flowers
They made the boys take home ec, too, at my junior high. I still have a bag my brother made 12 years ago.
still can't get these two ch6/27 - youngster on E ca6/24 - automobile plus c..lphone hmrph
it must be the wine!!! but i still cannot get the ri6/24 even after all your clues.... any simpler clues would be appreciated
mo, it sounds like two little words put together. A boys name and a **** of ribs?
hurshy did u get the oc 5...i got caught up in a magazine
pbr, CH6 - there's a spot on Dartmoor near Fox Tor Mire that has the stones from C......'s Tomb. Guy caught in the cold, horse died, so he disembowelled it, scooped out the gubbins and crawled inside. Didn't work, obviously...
mo, the two halves of the word are the same except for the vowel.
yes, i did tban, thanks for asking!
Where is RICHARD? He must be hanging in the CLOSET again. Is that helpful, or just weird
so sorry..ask me for something else
mab, lol! A bit of both :)

Mab, it will be interesting when he comes out of the closet... lol :)

Hi smeltz! Are you mr or mrs?? :)
el 5/12 to run the end of one word into the beginning of another. rhymes with sl5.

the or 7 is like the other or 7 except change the consonant at the end to a different consonant
sanky, lol!
Hurshy, guess what??? I had a word that Tuva didn't!! You weren't wrong! lol!
ty temple!!!
hursh-- I know. In. Out. Crowd. The concepts are crashing around me. Existential angst ensues.
Woo! Well done still :)
babbler - lol!
Hushy, Given the temporal nature of all things, if you were to be a member of said "group" then would it matter anyway? So, better not to bother yourself with such trivialities whilst this fleeting form you doth possess.
is that good ??? is it a good sign?
i'd say it's a very good sign.
tuva so wise.
means we will have smart kids
yeah, cos I'm smart too, innit? : D
Yes, but what if the temporal nature of things is but an illusion? Show me time. Besides, isn't this something for temporal owl to discuss?
*whispers* So we won't tell hurshy about the in crowd then tuva??
ok truth - all who were geeky in high school raise your hands LOL * hand up*
sanky, as i said to faeriekae a few days ago, you just have to make yourself annoying like me, and eventually people will talk to you.
smaller - making people laugh, just happens to be my specialty!!! (lol)
hand up, lol at lola, and ROTFL at joelgee.
Annoying - yeah, I can do that!!!
hursh, you're not annoying. it's just because you just give great clues!!!! kidding, luv ya
why does it take me so long to do this puzzle? Let me think.
i see. i am purely utilitarian.
any clues on the di 8/60?
Dammit... I am trying to fight with the board.... I tried to convince it that a CARRICH is what they used with horses to haul people around in the old days it aint buyin'....
joelgee - temporal nature of things IS an illusion!! (buddhism)
everybody! you've got mud on your face, you big di8!
oh sanky, you're so funny and humble too!
Hurshy-- you're going to have to point out when you're being annoying. I must be dense like lead.
I was waiting for you to say that again. Awesome.
hursh - if you get an icon, you can also be decorative...
temple- ROFLMAO!!!!!
That was directed to Hurshy...obviously. BTW, thanks a lot, now I'm singing that instead of the Log song.
smaller - why thank you! Thanks for making part of the 'in' crowd. I was beginning to feel like I did in high school...(which of course, was many years ago!!!)
Babbler-- Buddhism is an illusion (Anon.)
less than 10 mins till Lost....... and I have to watch the next episode on E4 as well..............
you know, sanky, and anyone else who's interested, i was just telling my husband last night that the great thing about chat is that one voice doesn't drown out others - we can always go back and read the posts and catch up, so there's no reason anybody need be forced out of the conversation.
oooooooooh, verrrry good, joelgee!
babbler - where are you?
hurshy-- What? Couldn't hear you in the din.
London UK
what is BTW?
but hurshy, when you step away for a bit, ya need a fast connection to keep with the chatter... : )
Help! I'm going under for the 3rd time!!
where are you 72TO?
joelgee is an illusion (joelgee)
joelgee - maybe you just need to clean out your ears, you big gorilla!
Sanky By The Way...
Babbler is with me! :)
btw - by the way
Sanky, how long have you been babbling? you should go pro and know the joys of picking icons
What? Sorry. Had bananas in ears.
oh shucks, Tuva, you say the sweetest things!! *giggles and flutters eyelashes furiously*
true, easternblue - but at least you can look at the prev posts when there's a lull.
hurshey - thought i had lost time if lost was on LOL -
smaller - i have only been babbling for 3 or so weeks. I have yet to finish a puzzle, but I am sooooo addicted!!!
*new people wonder: lull? when does that happen?*
still 37 words..... ugh ugh ugh ugh ugh
with this crowd there's hardly a lull...
I am planning on flying Babbler over the pond for a visit!
hurshy - i am in u.s. - philly
no lulls when I'm in !! : D
..........I'm already packing my suitcase!!! lol!
STILL can't figure out the ch7....
Sanky - truly skilled ones can chat and Babble...others (like me) must choose 1 or the other... : )
temple owl - head still spinning from lost comment - hand me a cheesesteak to calm my nerves
Tuva-- Hold on tightly. Wind currents over ocean are a bitch.
anj...?
ok, tuva, babbler, please tell me you didn't get engaged just from babble chat. you have met face to face, right?
I'm stuck on the ch7 too. Something about singing groups and chemical atoms.... but I couldn't figure it out.
oh, if people didn't get my ch7 clue, why didn't you SAY something?! can always make new clue. ch plus hunter constellation
why not, hurshy? my ex husband did... : )
Temple, just drowning in the general chatter. I'm off log a bit at the mo and every time I come back everything's changed :/
nope, hurshy, just met Tuva last night on the chat log. : D
Think I'll give up now, feel like I'm *argling* this game, but I'll be back!!
sorry i couldn't resist : )
Tuva, recieved this clue earlier and it helped me. ch + constellation with a belt.
shall we just have the ceremony here??
*GASP* is that giving words away?????
ah well, at least if romance is dead elsewhere, it lives in babbleland.
thx DirtBikeGirl!!! gottit! :)
Oops! Hurshy just gave this clue... My fingers are too slow at typing I guess.
Romance is NOT dead. It's just living in Dayton.
I love romance. There should be more of it in the world.
any clues on the el 5/12?
And Houston.
hurshy - do you want american or whiz on that steak?
Aw babe, lola's still here xxx *lola wonders how she is going to tell Anj that she is about to run off with her cowboy for an hour*
Babbler-- amen.
nmp, sounds like the man spoke an untruth ;)
that actually helps, SDBG. i post them too fast, people think they can't be there that fast, and skip right over them!
*Babbler wonders the same......* (telling Tuva, not Anj) (and will be gone for 2 hours, not one)
Babe, i'm cool - HE only gets an hour ;)
american, plz
good afternoon !!! how is everyone?
nmp - if anj's clue proves too much for you, change first letter of sl5.
iconoclast!
Hi all - everyone OK? Am barracaded in the room by toy boxes! Good tip - don't tidy the toy boxes at 9.00pm - you get bored and stuck!
babs, as much as I love my cowboy I can't stay away from Anj for more than an hour :)
just thought it was safer - didn't know if whiz meant anything other than pee, didn't like to seem ignorant by asking
Hi Granny - psychedelia is the theme today...
scuse the interruption..but..someone asked for a clue for di8 awhile back..maybe I missed the clue but any help would be very appreciated!
hi granny...hi snowy...
Great Owl im up for that !!!
hi groovy, snowy!
LOL! Damn right babe :) See you in an hour!
groovy-- lookin' groovy.
HURSHY! LOL i thought that when i typed it...that's cheese whiz!
Hi Blue, Hurshy, Joel, Tuva , Sanky, Babbler !!!
ok, who wants to sing it this time for helenary?
Real life rules do not apply in Babble-land romance... Joelgee & I are engaged & I'm already married (he might be too, for all I know, LOL)!
hurshy - nuthin' like the good ol' american Cheez Whiz
Hey Lola , Helen ..... trying not to miss anyone
Hi Snowy..i have not long been here myself..too tired though
Jera nice to see you !!

Hurshy - my chorus was nothing without your intro... : ( Sorry Helenary...
i HAVE heard of cheez whiz, obviously, but wasn't thinking of it when i just saw whiz
no takers? ok. helenary: you've got mud on your face, you big di8!
Hurshy I have jumbo olives we can stuff with the cheez whiz !
Hurshy - you usually type it in so fast.... Helenary - *sings* You've got mud on your face, you big di8....
Ohhhhh... CHEEZ whiz... I though you guys were whizzing on steak... nothing surprises me 'round here...
back in 2 hours (must watch next week's episode of Lost on E4 as well). pls could someone tell Tuva for me when he comes back on? taaaa muchly! : D
granny - it's easier if you just use the cheese in a can...less messy.
easternblue - i know, but i thought someone else might like to have the fun this time.
Di8 add a Di3 to a GR5 hint: It will be a Di8 if you don't finish this grid.
now joins hurshy *chorus* we will we will rock you....
cheese in a can??!! *shudders uncontrollably*
babbler - bye now!
joel - it's better in the jar : )
joelgee - in case you thought no one laughed at your "thank God" comment, you were wrong
I prefer Swiss or Provolone myself, don't much care for the yellow cheeses...
rofl Oh Owl that makes sense .. I had to go check on dinner I forgot all about it !!! rice is supposed to be crunchy right? adds flavor and texture
I am surrounded by doll, cars, blocks and mini cookers and washing machines and toy telephones that ring everytime you move something. It's like being locked in Toys R Us - this room is only 9ft'6in by 6ft for goodness sake! With me ,the chair &the computer desk I am beginning to hyperventilate with claustrophobia!
hi all. anyone has the 3rd ca6/24 on the list?
and how is that any ickier than cheese whiz?
Yeah. Jar makes a huge difference.
walnutchen - change 3rd letter of 1st ca6.
Jera I have swiss tonight for the chicken with ham
Joel...I thought it might! Is it better than the spray cheese??? : )
snowy our computer room was like that at one time ...
*drools*
mmm cordon bleu
Has anyone seen the ad on A2Z with the moving eyes??? Spooky! It's weirding me out, moving back and forth like that when I'm trying to look at words.
Snowy - think peaceful thoughts....
between the chicken, cheese, ham and alleged apple crisp, I just got hungry.
Im just telling them it's crunchy rice lol I added water to it .. wonder if it will fluff back up
that was great..the song helped even tho I didn't get it at first. Good mates!!!
yeah, the apple crisp hasn't been happening - the chat got so fun.
Pumpkin ice cream got me through this puzzle today...
Joel you can always come over for dinner
Folks I'm thinking - Throw it all out!!!!!
I don't want to live in the same multiverse with spray cheese.
we have pumpkin pie for desert ....
helenary - if you're still here, i hope you got your di8 amidst all this chaos!
dbg - the one that flashed and took your photo really got me
Ewwww... crunch rice??
groovy-- What time? How many bottles of wine should I bring?
oops, cross posted.
snowy - I am giving up on this tonight..will ring you tomorrow Goodnight everone...am too tired for this tonight - just need to sleep....see you all tomorrow

CATHB goodnight sweet dreams - speak tomorrowxx
thanks hurshy!
later, cathb. Hey, Jera, Snowy.
nite Cath !! brb have to check on dinner
yw walnut.
cool whip for the pumpkin pie only?
72 TO - Have you seen the one with the car driving in the distance along a country road with the announcer telling you to watch closely as it disappears. So you're trying to watch this tiny little car when a zombie pops up and screams... Had to go change after that one...
no, joelgee, for the cordon bleu
Rats!
you want RATS on your pie? no accounting for taste...
I sent a message of thanks but the chat log apolosed for not being able to send it. Thanks for the d8..got it..thanks to cluey people
but then, you are a gorilla.
Hi Joel! Groovy - If I do that sort of thing I just sit and eat it with a gentle smile and a look in my eye that says 'Go on say something' ! They're normallly to glared out to mention anything.
night cathb dbg - i sure haven't LOL
yw helen!
I prefer vanilla ice cream on pumpkin pie. Sweet potato pie is even better!
Yes, but only fresh. No canned or jarred rats. Actually prefer rat-on-a-stick. It's an acquired taste.
it r-o-a-s deep fried? can eat almost anything deep fried
Joelgee, if you freeze the rat, you can use it's tail as a stick. Yummy treat in the hot summertime.
Hi All, how man words today?
hurshy - how do you know about cheesesteaks?
Used to be a restaurant that served warm apple pie topped with cinnamon ice cream. MMmm.
DBG, that ad scared me to death . . . then someone sent it to me a year later and I'd forgotten about it and jumped out of my skin AGAIN! LOL!
everybody knows about cheesesteaks!
deep fry it. Melt cheese on it. Put bacon on it. The American dream.
153 words
I have never heard of cheese steaks - what are they?
anyone have a clue for na 5/14
Philly cheesesteak. Sandwich.
Une, Someone sent it around at work so throughout the day you'd hear various people scream and we'd all start laughing! :-D
sadly, have never had one in philly. had them in college dining hall, were pretty good in my opinion (nice and greasy), but of course, since i haven't had the "real thing" i can't say how they compared.
think na5 is mother of pearl
lol at snowy. if it is, there are very different meanings in different countries
What? There are people here looking for words?
What did I miss (I was shopping for green nail polish)?
Na5/14 a Mexican treat. Chips & Cheese.
* sticks tongue out at joelgee*
na 5/14 joke: so, this guy wins a giant cheese wheel in a contest, and he's rolling it home, and then he loses it and it starts rolling down the hill. this other guy catches it and brings it in his house, and tells his wife to get out the tortilla chips. she says, why? and he says, well, this guy was yelling to me, "that's na5 cheese, that's na5 cheese!"
may i help anyone with a clue or two? we are chatting up a storm...
In some cultures, temple, that has great significance.
no hurshy there is a na5 thats mother of pearl - really and truly!
Mmmmm! Took a trip to the East coast a month ago and had my FIRST authentic Philly Cheesesteak. YUMMY!!
that is SO funny, snowy!!!
oh wait, do you mean it's one of the other na5's?
* starts to ask but thinks the better of it*
in that case, not so funny.
sure do hurshy!!!!LOL
ok, did people not get my joke, or what. why is no one laughing?
hi templeowl! thanks in advance... How about clues for the oc's? I only go the one thats a large body of water!
so, let's see if i can guess. is it the na 5/10, snowy?
but to be fair hurshy it isnt the 14 that was asked for - sorry!
laughing on the inside, hursh.
dbg - we travel a lot for work and always pick one poor person as a guinea pig to order the authentic philly cheesesteak - everybody has them, now..but being from nawth jersey, the first time i expected a ribeye on toast LOL
Loved the joke, Hurshy. Just away from the computer for a mo'. It's na5/14 fault. :)
hurshy... hahahaha.
oc 5/14 a brownish color
hurshy-- tough room.
no its the 12! --------I'm just going to sit in a toy box for a while and see if that sorts my head out!
oc 6 add vowel to end of prev oc5 last oc 5 remove h from oc6
walnut - was that a pity laugh?
I got it Hurshy! Except yours is a better version than the one I heard. My jokes always turn out lame... I tried one yesterday and poor Smaller thought I was upset... My delivery usually sucks. Either that or I can't stop laughing long enough to tell the joke, LOL!
*laughs hysterically at hurshey's joke*
thank you, qrj, much appreciated.
*backs away from jera slowly*
hurshy - well, it wasn't pity, just took me a while to get it... (walnutchen = slow). anyways, I like corny jokes.
now i'm sorry i asked. can't tell the real laughs from the pity laughs.
Delivery is even more difficult in chat... no tone of voice or facial expression to help things along...
oh, thanks walnut. :)
SDBG - THAT was funny in itself!
hurshy - any cheese joke will go over well in Wisconsin!
72 TO - NJ??? That's where my husband is working!!! Went back there to visit him in September. Stopped in Philly and NYC!
Seriously I love that joke... I was shopping which is why it took me a while... I need new green nail polish...
joel - don't have time to type my laughing at everything you say, so you'll just have to know it's there
well guys - time to go! thanks for all the help and chat!
*looks around chatroom with wide, innocent eyes*
bye temple!
hursh- ditto.
bye temple...
later, temple.
jera - is that a prelude to attacking us with long, sharp green nails?
bye Temple
EasternBlue - well, I guess in california, we have happy cheese jokes (since we have happy cows - so says all our cheese commercials!)
No, it's a prelude to a Girl Scout function... the Girls love my long, sharp, green nails...
i meant the wide innocent eyes. you know, like in...darn it, what movie am i thinking of?
Walnut - Laughing Cow cheese?
*goes to sit quietly in a corner & stop scaring nice Babble friends*
walnut - that ad cracks me up...
i know! in galaxy quest, when they meet that little alien creature and think it's so cute, and then it turns out to be really vicious.
Walnutchen, where in CA? And yes, we do have happy cows. Least the ones in the commercials. They aren't dinner! :)
la vache qui rien
I personally think they should have the cows dancing!
oh hurshy - LOL!
happy cheese from happy cows NOT same as laughing cow cheese laughing cow cheese french (la vache qui rie)
qui rit . . .
1-2-3 kick. What moosic would cows dance to?
like the dancing california raisins? :)
ok, we're bad at french.
Blue Moooooooooooooooon
oopsie. I accidentally made an existential cow comment.
maybe joel's was on purpose, since it was funny. "the cow who nothing."
it would have to be an udderly upbeat tune... *groan*
Une-- I doff my cap.
Cud you get into it?
Hank Williams Moooove it on over. And other COW boy music. They think it's udderly divine.
Oh! So the commercials just say the cows are happy???
Is this going to be milked forever?
Une...STOP! ROFL
so it wasn't on purpose, joel?
Une, there's actually a guy in Nashville who rents from my Gentleman Friend...has a whole CD of Cow Songs.
yes, SDBG.
Of course, there'd be a large horn section.
LOL at Une & Joelgee!
and a cowbell on the percussion
Of cows he does!
*referee comes over in striped jersey to put an end to cow puns*
Oh... the wide innocent eyes was supposed to be, well, innocent. I'm most scry when I'm trying to not scre people, it seems...
hursh-- maybe.
jera - wasn't actually scary - just me being silly.
shucks . . .
jersey. I get it.
Queenruejean. I'm in the east bay area... we see cows in the hills. Although, I can't quite tell if they're happy or not... Need to get some binoculars..
this is a bunch of bull!
wc-- I was wondering if you were from Walnut, CA. Used to live in Fremont.
i'm gonna heifer knock some heads together!
Walnutchen, I'm in SoCal. Not too far from Chino, aka Dairy Central. But went to SJSU. And family in Alameda & Fremont.
Isn't Walnut the last stop on the BART? Or first, I guess, depending on perspective.
so stop beefore i get really violent.
*cowers before hurshy*
hurshys gonna get violent in 8 seconds
But Hurshy...everyone likes horny jokes!
i know, i know, that was low. (obscure one)
*jumps on bike and rides full throttle in opposite direction*
Tbug, liked the 8 seconds comment! :)
joelgee? on BART? as in Bay-Area-Transit-System? There's a stop called 'walnut'?
Ah. The cattle lowing in the fields. They do that when they're high. All that grass, you know.
hehe ty
if you don't get the "low" one, just ox.
Queenruejean : I live in Fremont. heheh. by Lake Elizabeth.
Mr. McGee, don't make me angry... you wouldn't like me when I'm angry...
long time ago. maybe not.
Joelgee, major groan!
No comment just rolling eyes dramatically
ox pun falls flat since comes after joel explains low.
ah. joelgee is thinking walnut creek. hehehe.
I haven't been to Fremont in more than 20 years.
Hi everyone - late getting to it today. Spent the morning and part of the afternoon making chocolate filling -- have 5 friends coming over on the weekend for our annual chocothon. Anyone have a clue for the first ca 6-7 combo?

Stop! Stop! I'm ROFLMAO and my boss just walked past!
Getting udderly too much for me. I'm going to have to take it on the hoof. My hide isn't thick enough for this. And I've milked that for the last time. Promise! Bye all!

Everyone, refresh... my son drew a picture of me!!

Karys... he's working on a Happy Cat just like yours... you're inspiring!

Ohrom he's been in foster care since he was 3 months old .... mom abused and abandoned him while my son was on the road working ..... so we are trying to get custody of him so he can come live with us and eventually adopt him and raise him

Oh THAT negates.... good lord. I think I should just call it a day!!!

kataroo... first oc is a synonym for na5/12...
Could I get a qu clue please?
poo has a story from jellystone park when she went camping there with her dad....
scooterman, you could say your request was the qu7 (past tense)

qu7/44 a question or inquiry

thanks! Got it!
mama ar5/16 - let's not fight about it
still don't have the 0c 5/14
Mamabear - ar5/14 - sounds like what you would do with saltwater if you had a sore throat, (but drop the initial letter g)
thanks Poo's mom - gotta love those spiral words!
ar 5/14 like the knitting pattern minus a y
kataroo - oc5/14: Any of several earthy mineral oxides of iron occurring in yellow, brown, or red and used as pigments.
qu 7 -- a question or inquiry -- is it spelled differently from what I'm thinking of??
sorry kataroo... it's a yellowish-orange color... mostly used to refer to colors in nature
Thanks Cmith & Babbler - great clues... that was quick now I have time for a few more!! ca 6/24 x 2 & ca 7/36

er 5/12 - another name!!! I don't get it.
still stuck on the elusive ca6, inbetween ca4 being kind, and ca4 guy's name....
who's watching Jimi Hendrix on Channel 4?
er 5/12 - susan lucci's character
It's the past tense of a verb that means to take from one place to another, minus one letter of the double
who the heck has channel 4?
thank you kataroo!!! you're a star! :)
ah, I'm in the UK. Channel 4 is one of our terrestrial channels....
any time!
as opposed to extraterrestrial? I'm confused
as opposed to digital, cable or satellite!!
oooooohh...got it now. network. the only channel my roomies and i had for a month and a half was the UPN
In the UK, we have 5 channels available to all, BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. If we want more channels, we have to go cable/satellite/digital..... (and pay for the privilege)
any clues for qu7?
do you call it network?? I always wondered what that meant! :)
qu7: ask a question, such as a database search
oh... terrestrial/network doesn't work out here
but past tense
qu7 = asked
we have cable now...if we didn't have mtv i don't know what we'd do
efor is that a cat eating pumpkin pie? (excuse my old eyes)
analogue tv is doomed out here. The Government want us all to be digital by, I don't know, 2012 or something. Or sooner.
our cable is digital...it screws up on occasion, but it is nice to have the handy guide thing on the screen at whim
can someone give me hints?? di4/5=not the need di5/12 di8/60
efor - thanks --funny how you can keep looking and keep looking phew on to the O's
yes, poo's mom, the cat is eating pumpkin pie. :o) it's a real cat modified w/ a digital camera.
digital does seem to be more user-friendly, but I'm such a raging snob, I love the idea that analogue captures every last detail, every nuance. It might be a clunky old dinosaur, but I'm not giving up on it. I want an old fashioned record player, and a proper SLR camera!! :)
di 4/5, change the last letter of the need di 5/12 make it plural di 8/60 got blood on your face, big di******
efor - too funny! i had a cat who did eat pumpkin pie....didn't earn either one of us any points with the MIL!
ty kataroo... now they seem so obvious! :o)
efor...that's the beauty of clues!
You have 0word(s) left to find :)
congrats!
di 4 -- the need???
have you finished? wooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooo!!! *pou rs glass of champers, reaches over and hands it to Poo's Mum*
thanks - however, i really do deserve a swat or two with the fish....
thank you scooterman, I don't have it either....
that would be the letter O not the number 0
not actually a need, but usually precedes it.. i knew what i meant... i think... i am going crosseyed at this point. don't mind me.
gratefully accepts glass of champers..
csmith or everyone please help on the ca 6/24 and 7/36...not getting them. Has to do with light? thanks, claudia
alrighty...i'm outta here; i gotta call my honey good luck everyone!
spatialbean/claudia, they're just like your ca6 and ca7 negates, but change the third letter....
ttfn kataroo! thx for your clues
bye kataroo, ty again for the help!
bye kataroo!
last word...eg 4/6 I've tried every combination, I think.
kelstar start with e in bottom corner
kelstar - eg4 - sounds like another word for very very keen
eg 4/6 -- doesn't even look like a word to me, but if you really wanted to do something you would be ea*** and then take out the a
there's a river in Hungary called eg4/6....
thanks babbler, i was looking from the wrong "c"...whew, i was gonna cry in a minute
clue on ho 4/6 - not the garden activity please!
y/w, spatialbean. I nearly had a tantrum myself! :D
NEW FEATURE ALERT Due to popular demand (and I mean demand) I've updated the Rankings page. All new formulas! Check it out and let me know what you think. Note: You may have to refresh the Rankings page a couple times to clear your browser's cache and get it to look right.
never mind! I found it.... good nite everyone . might be back later if I can stay awake! Thanks for all the help *bear hugs to all*
night mama!
Hi Dr G!! How are you? I noticed the values of the letters changed while I was away. How come? Legal stuff?
thanks poo's mom!
Thanks Jamie. Things have been a little confusing re the rankings.
nite mamabear!
Babbler- Yep. Hasbro leaned on me again.
Cool, Dr_G-d. What's up with some of the people having a green text?
Uh, Nevermind!! I get it now, PROs! :-)
Jo- The players with green text are "Pros" with profiles.
Dr. G, have you run this Hasbro business past your lawyer?
Dr God - you've been busy - looks great.. thanks for all your efforts.
flippin' Hasbro, spoiling everyone's fun. I can't find me, Dr G. I liked the "Jump to Babbler" thingy....
did refresh....... found me in the Village Elders column... tee hee.. :)
hey dr God. Great jorb your doing round these parts. Love the game, and not since Tetris has a game locked my interest. Thanks.
I agree i liked the jump to button... i'm new to all this, well sort of, addicted but new to talking... greetings!
hi not you, welcome!! :D
I love to read everyone's messages.... what a hoot.
I'll be adding the "Jump to" feature back to the Rankings page.
Dr G, just want to tell you, Babble is my Happy Place. :D Thanks so much! :D
and many many more :D *smiles*
I agree... Dr G... addicted and proud of it. what a great way to avoid work, kids, husband and general life!!! LOVE IT

I've got a stack of stuff to sell on ebay (stuff I bought that didn't fit). But have I done it? Have I 'eck! :)
Dr_God - love the new rankings...gives those that are truly faithful the edge...and the dabblers like me a chance to see our name "in lights" : )
That's how I've decided to make money to buy Christmas gifts this year for the kids... sell their old stuff... cleans the closets and adds to the budget.
Babbler...I'm somewhat still hooked on soduko...my mother in law sends them to me... : )
what do the big numbers after our names in the rankings mean? Am I really 42,000 something? *lightbulb moment*... how many players are there....???
sudoku is a walk in the park after a tough Babble grid! :)
Babbler- Click the link at the top of the Rankings page to read a description of how each ladder is calculated.
Babbler...true As for the big number - that's your total Babble career... there are definitions in the 'ranking'...oh wise village elder!
ahaa! thanks Dr G. I'm 707. Sounds about right, after nearly 3 weeks off.
So Dr. God, how often do you yourself play a grid?
*chin cupped in hands, waiting for Dr G's reply*
boreetos- As you can see from my ranking (or lack thereof,) I don't play too often or for very long. ;)
boreetos - Dr_God is too busy keeping us hooked on our 'drug' : )
*shoots off to check out Dr G's ranking.....*
good to know. thanks :) goodnight all, another grid unfinished, until tomorrow then.
'night boreetos!

So, Babbler... when do I get a profile on you? Still waiting...
that is so totally misleading..let me start again..I went yesterday to surgeon to follow up on my recent hospital stay..PHEW....i can tell its time for bed..lol
soon, my darling, soon. Patience is a virtue........ ! (everyone else has been asking too!!)
Tuva...isn't the mystery intriguing?? or beguiling?? or does it just make you wonder?
Babbs..bless you! I appreciate your kind thoughts...xoxox
Wow, liana. That is way worse than my little case of the sniffles. I sincerely hope it all turns out okay and you start feeling better! <3
can someone help!? i am down to 14 words... i need to find the bottom na5/12 & na5/10...
EasternBlue, Tuva and I are both scorpios. I adore mystery!! It's all part of the big romantic picture! awwww!
liana...wishes for health from EB too...(and a rose to smell when you have to drink the blue yucky stuff...) @}--->----->------
Youre all such lovely people..thanks again.. And with that, I am taking myself back downstairs ..and to bed..Keep safe and share these..xoxoxoxoxoxox
ok, just need the na5/12...
efor...don't have it...sorry would na na na na na na work??
I am sorry you're going through what sounds like a scary time, Liana, and without your spousal unit there to support you. Not fair.
EF..before I go..a clue..NA ..a pearly finish..akin to that on an oyster shell.
working on the ec4 and 5
ec4 and 6, sorry
na5/12: the iridescent internal layer of a mollusk shell

i have that one. i need the one before na5/10
*cackles* I know, I'm sooooo creative with the romance, EB!!
19 stinking words left
what bit made you barf, EB? was it the *whispers* "you complete me"?? (blegh!!!!!!)
Back again...
*cheers Tuva on, jumps up and down and does cheerleader dance*
Babs - that was the start... : )
hi artlady...
what else, EB?? *looks innocent, flutters lashes*. What else did I write that was wrong??
Heya Artlady! God speed, lianakate.
I'm never gonna complete today's grid, what with chatting and flirting and an awol brain.....
Babbler - the rest just pushed this gal over the edge!
Nice pic, Eastern. Do you still have leaves on the trees?
no wonder Tuva's gone quiet!!! lol! oh dear..... maybe I'd best tone it down then.....
I like your pic too, EB
WHEEEEEEEE SIXTEEN left!
Flirting on Babble? What will be next....
Babbler...no - i'm good - nuthin' left in the tummy now : )
Yeah, we can't have that.
Artlady - I take that a wonderful compliment from you...we have some leaves left - but after today's dreary rain & high winds...most are on the ground...
Babbler - thnx (another reason to go pro...you can add a pix & change with the seasons!)
Babbler... keep the faith! If you are nice to me I can give ya my email....
Artlady - I like your 'self-portrait'...
Evening, all. Quiet night?
Thanks, Eastern. Babbler, you can help Dr. God pay his rent....
Hi Charm... Dr_God was on for awhile...people seemed quiet whilst he was here...
or6/24 anyone?
or/6 - beautiful orchid
Tuva, it's like the or6 flowers, but change the ending to sound like a kiss....
We were in awe of Dr_God???? OR6/24 - same as or6/27 (exotic flower) but with different final consonant.
can someone please help me w/ na5/12?? not the shell one... plz & thanks!
Shhhh dont give other words.....
OOPS, I am sooo sorry that I gave a word away. Must go to bed now.
Yet another one I had that you didn't, sweetheart!!! I'm not gonna say it......... I'm not gonna say it....... LOL!
na5/12 - what you call a cop who works the drug beat.
Peri! THat's quite unlike you!
ty charm, but that's na4/5...
only 14 left, Babbler!!!
Gloating, Babbler??
we've all done it, Peri, don't worry luvvie. Some people have accidentally posted entire lists before now!!! *pats Peri's shoulders*
efor... "o" - it's close!!
na5/12 - the drug cop with a vowel at the end (sounds latino).
i have that one already, too. sorry!! :o( this letter is driving me nuts!
no artlady, someone said earlier on today that if I had words that Tuva didn't, then you could say we complete one another.......... *collapses in giggles again* : D
BABBLER! *hee hee hee hee hee hee*
There's another na5/12, no def. First 3 letters of the drug cop + 2 letters to make it sound like an adj.
Ohhh, that is SO sweet! (gag gag) BTW, all done... ;-)
3 cheers for artlady Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray!
do you see the synchronicity, EasternBlue??? it just keeps happening!! :)
Bravo Artlady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EB - If I run out of vomit, can I have some of yours??
omg finally. THANK YOU CHARM!!! :o)
Babbler - like the movie Serendipty... it's just 'meant to be" (ack! ack!)
y/w - efor! Done? Congrats, artlady!!
but what do I tell my Mum??????????????
Hey all, did you see DR. G. changed the rankings!
Yayayayay artlady!!!
not yet...11 to go... i may have to call it a night!
Tor - always willing to share (*passes brown paper bag*)
Thank you all so kindly. I like these shorter ones--I actually have time to do them (with LOTS of help, of course). Someday I'll learn to do them "cold."
Babbler - is the Mum a clue that you're European??
Last night we were sharing wine and martinis. Tonight...vomit. How the mighty have fallen...
artlady - residuals of the wine & martinis : )
yes, EB, London UK....
Eeeuuuuuu!
it's 2.52 am.... TUVA! you changed your icon!! what's all this about fire?
Babbler - and yet your love is in Dallas... I guess love knows no bounds
Dallas, Texas......... and all I know about Dallas is JR Ewing, Joan Collins, the voice of Charlie's Angels who was also in Dallas, Charlene the poison dwarf, Bobby who came back to life in the shower, the gorgeous wife of his, what's her name.... Sue Ellen and her crazy animated face.....
Babbler - I never watched the show... I do know a song...from some Broadway show (just can't remember which one)...
Yes, Babbler...and Dallas is in _Texas_, which is the home of... (painful sigh)
artlady - you ok?
gasp...shudder....
*glass of water and an aspirin for artlady*
artlady??
I need a stiff drink.
Just good advice.... do not set yourself on fire....
Sorry, every once in a while reality intrudes the safe haven of Babble. Tuva, nice one!
Tuva - just makes you extra hot! (sorry Babbler...)
ch5/14 x 2? I've got the singers...... and the ch4/6 while you're at it, if anybody can spare me the time and energy?? thank you so much!
Marigold, are you playing? Have you checked out the new rankings. We are both on all three lists.
artlady, I realize that you need a stiff one, but my heart belongs to Babbler
eeeuuuuuw, EB!!! Even I wouldn't go there!! lol!!!
A good evening to all in Babbleonia!
someone who works on your back...also "honey ch 5/14"
ch5/14 - a country in s. am.
Tuva! My hubby's sitting right next to me!! (snicker, snicker)
ch5/14 - short for the doctor who gives you massage, heat therapy after a whiplash incident.
ooooooh!! thank you!!! and the ch4?
Hey Grey...
Babbler - need a barf bag?? : )
hiya Woulfie...
hand it over, EB!!! :)
ch4/6 - pl. of the 22nd letter of the Greek alphabet.
Tuva, you meant a stiff drink, didn't you??????
Heya artlady, Blue, and charm... so how are you ladies this evening?
blimey, artlady, I see I'm gonna have to keep him in line!
Peri, so am I. That makes us all Hot Cream Elders....
Hi, GW! Baby safely off to the land of nod?
Babbler - see what happens in a long distance relationship?? men!
Babbler, slap him! Want a fish?
Woulfie...good & you??
Hi, GW, I am fine but tired. Need to get some sleep but will play a little longer.
ooo...Anj made me an "fish" earlier... I even put one in the log!!
Hi GreyWoulf. Just read your biog. Would you be extremely envious if I told you I went to Stonehenge and Tintagel Castle last year??
Yes she is, Charm :) she only let me read her one of her bedtime stories tonight... she read the other three to me :D
But I am NOT addicted to this game, no way, no how.
Sure, Peri. I have some swamp land for you, too.
Clues for Si 5 and 6? Please?
Peri - what's sleep?? (said with toothpicks propping eyelids up)
GW - my 3yo sang "Owl & Pussycat" (his latest favorite) to me about a dozen times before NOT taking a nap. I'm in love!
Babbler.... Uh... sure... whatever you need to believe, honey
Hi peri, no argument here... you are absolutely not an addict... I'll swear to it in a court of law if yo need me to ;)
:'(
Mab, one who edges along a cliff and the edging act itself. (that's the 6 then the 5)
si5 & 6 - kind of ease your way up next to someone or something, up to the bar or to your secret crush.
Need a tissue, babs?
no............. *sniff* :.(
14 words left...ugh!
Charm, it's interesting the totally different angle we took on the same clue...
*pat*pat* There, there Babs...
Blue, I'm doing alright... could use more time to play BAbble and more pay for less work though :)
Go, Tuva, go!
I hear you, Grey!
I attend my first funeral tonight, and realized that I don't have close relationships with anybody. I think I have a fear of intimacy, and I have these false relationships with friends and family that I can easily brush aside. I'm not sure if anybody knows me, and it scare me to think that although I'm constantly surrounded by people I could die alone, babbling.
Woulfie...I hear ya...I'm hoping to win the Mega Millions...
artlady - that's why language is never static, but constantly in a state of flux!
I now have less than my age to finish!!
anyone got a clue for the na 5/12?
thanks, EB. :'( may I borrow your shoulder for a second? *sobs into it*
75, EB??
Thanks Artlady. I don't see this relationship going anywhere, but remember Babbler and Tuva, love means never having to say you're sorry (theme song from Love Story plays in background)
Babbler -(hands over hankie) - *blow*
Babbler, not envious... much. More interested in why you chose to go -- tourist site seeing or more spiritual?
*gag*
I thought love meant never having to bury a body alone...
love means never having to do dishes again...
or dig ditches...
I got that wrong. Love means having constantly to say you're sorry.
*overcome with tears* Artlady...no... much younger... : (
Powerplant, that's a major lesson you've just learnt. When I realised that, I decided to only spend time with people who matter to me and I love. The rest, I deleted from my email/phone and I don't return their calls either. They are too demanding and take my attention away from those I really want to be with. It's ruthless, but I don't care, it's what I want to do.
lol, mab
mab, or waiting (hopelessly) for someone else to say it...
anyone - na 5/12??
grey woulf - bit of both..... :)
JK, EB. I was just yanking your chain...or rattling your tree...
There are several na5/12's. Do you have any?
I wrote a song for you, Babbler... *sings softly along with the guitar....
Love means . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I'm all ears, my darling!! :)
Powerplant...it is hard to go to a funeral, but perhaps it can be a chance to rethink what you want...those that truly love you will understand if you've been out of touch for awhile - the good thing is that you have a chance to get in touch with them now...
I have the mexican drug cop
na5/12 - mother of pearl.
artlady - I'm all better now...just needed a good cry!
I agree, EB. Powerplant, don't wait to make connections with the people who matter to you.
na5/12 - first 3 letters of the drug cop + 2 letters to make it sound like an adj. (no proper def.)
scootermom - See if he still has my car.
I had a bereavement in the family not too long ago, and it has totally changed my outlook on everything. I am told the first 12 months are the worst, and it never really gets any easier.
I agree Babbler, and that's what I've slowly done with my life. The hard part is opening up myself to someone, I'm very understanding and a great listener, I just don't talk much anymore.
PowerPlant, the key thing is to accept your epiphany as a positive opportunity. You have already made a big step towards changing yourself by acknowledging your isolation. The next big (and scary) step is to actually work on changing that.
Marigold, I am here. Have you checked out the new rankings.
Powerplant, you have Babbleverse and us to lean on any time you like. We're here 24/7. The rest will follow in time, by itself. Don't worry about it. Follow your heart.
how many today?
I'm on the board everyday, I respect what each of you have to say. It was a big step for me to post. Thank you for acknowledging me.
Powerplant - sometimes opening up to 'strangers' (or people that are just strange) can be an easier transition to then carry that into the 'real' world...
sassielass - 155
you did better than me, Powerplant. When I had my bereavement, I was on Babble, but I didn't breathe a word. Fear, all the rest. You did good.
PowerPlant - I am similar to you in that I also am great at listening to others and getting them to talk to me about their probs, but when it comes to talking about my own issues, I have trouble...
Powerplant: What you're talkig about here takes a lifetime to work on. We all must. You are not alone in your feelings, and you mustn't isolate yourself.
sassie - oops...153
Thanks--I am new enough that if I get a quarter of the words, I am happy! I'm at 52 now, and I will definitely stop in the next few minutes because I am really tired.
Power Plant, it's a great group. Funny, but with golden hearts.
well said Mab, it is a lifetime's work.
You go, sassie!
here here mab! well said... ...and artlady too...
PowerPlant - these are some of the grreatest personalities that I have evver met, here in Babbleonia. On behalf of the rest, I thank you for choosing to share with us :)
sas - let us know if we can help (I'm not done but I'm gettin' close!)
Goodnight all
I got mother of pearl. But I'm stumped on the 1st 3 letters of cop + 2 ltrs to make it sound like an adj. I've tried everything!
nite, periwinkle....
G'nite Peri! Sleep Well!
nite Peri...
'Night, Peri. Scooter, which one do you need?
grey woulf - I agree, some of the greatest personalities I have ever met (and I don't just mean my Tuva!!)
Thanks for the offer...I've already peaked back at some of today's chatter to see if it helped, and it definitely did!
goodnight Peri luv!
scootermom- 1st 3 letters of the cop + **e cubes (minus the final 'e').
There is definitely an interesting group of people on babble, with some of the great senses of humor, and humor is what make my life!
Charm -- thank you!!!
PP, without humor, life is meaningless
are you finished, scootermom?
It's been lovely listening to the chat, but the end of the day is near...buona notte!
...and Babblechat would be non-existent!
G'nite artlady, sweet dreams
'night artlady... may pictures paint your dreams...
lol, Blue
charm -- no such luck. I've only got 42 words -- you know, work really gets in the way!!!
you mean - there are more than 9 words?
scootermom, with me, it's the hubby, the baby, the dog, the housework which get in the way of serene babbling!
goodnight artlady!!! :)
LoL sasha!
scootermom, for me its the chatting-- I get so wrapped up in the great multithreaded conversations that I forget to look for words
Sasha - just a couple more... : )
me too, grey woulf!
I think I'm still so new I obsess about getting words!
like...uh....how many more??
my computer wants to restart after some updates.... it says 5 mins.... back soon....... :)
Powerplant...in the days to come, you'll have to let us know when you're in Babbleland...and how things are going for you...
i can not get di 8 can anyone help please.
SashaJo - I'm not sure you're ready to know how many more there are....
no problem EasternBlue
I'm a masochist - tell me.
sings: #you've got mud on your face, you big di8.....#
scooter - we'll soon turn you to the dark side! Sasha - 153 total ( - 9 ) oh, heck - I'm not good at math at this hour!
sasha - there are 153 words in this puzzle!!
Hey torgone, sorry I missed you yesterday-- Happy Birthday Belated -- sorry to hear that you were sick for your day
My last word is one of the ch 5/14. Help?
You've got to be fibbing to me. Sigh.....
*picks up chorus* we will, we will, rock you...
di8 - lovely word. When you fumble da ball at da 5 yard line, you're sent to da bench in di******.
Thanks GW! Gradually getting better..
got it thank you
Sasha - we usually don't kid about the number of words...
#sweet ch/5 of miiiiine # ch5 - works on your spine and bones and stuff ch5 - group of singers
tor, nothing major I hope
Babbler - the song is playing on the tv for the basketball game my hubby is watching...too funny!!!!!!!!!
Thanks! I was missing the middle one. Good night, all!
'night gwenski
Just a 50% dose of the flu. My head feels like it's filled with margarine.
ok I'm outa here. thx for all your help guys. Tomorrow I swear I'll do better!!!
SashaJo, don't sweat it -- it's not about how many words you find, but how much fun you have while looking If you need any help don't hesitate to ask us :)

scootermom - night...I never judge against how many others have, just how many I can happen upon!
Margarine? yuk! that was a visual I didn't need (lol) Seriously though - get well soon :)
Hey everyone! Just popped in and finished up my final few. See everyone tomorrow!

Come back when you can stay longer, DBG! Congrats and stuff!
Good job, DBG! see you tomorrow
make sure you take it easy till you're 100%, Torgone. Flu is a very nasty thing. It's not like a cold where you can just get back on your feet whenever. You take extra care, yeah?
How very rude of me! Anyone need any hints before I'm off?
goodnight DBG! goodnight scooterman!
ch4/6, DBG?
Thanx, Babbler. I'll try. I'm not built to lay about in bed all day, though. I tried today, and had to be doing something. Granted, it was mostly Babbling.
found it......... :)
Babbler, Well here's what the Dictionary says "The 22nd letter of the Greek alphabet". But think of a name that can either be a male or female name and remove the 3rd letter.
Babbling is ok. Don't do much else till you're better. The times I've had major flu's, it took months, and even then I wasnt' 100%, but I let work be a priority. Then I burnt out.
Oops, I was too slow
no worries, DBG, I can't say I'm really trying with the game today!! Too busy chatting with my buddies!! :)
That was me earlier today. Have you read the log? I don't think many of us got much done with all the bovine and veggie jokes flying around.
I must confess, I haven't read today's log either...... I was out for yet another eye test today, after which I couldn't see cos of the drops they put in my eyes......
isn't dilation fun, Babbler?
I'm at 98 words now though...... not bad, considering..... !!!! :)
I'm at 94 myself
I had to go to the supermarket for some shopping afterwards and everything was too bright for me, grey woulf!!!!
I wonder what Tuva would have thought, if he'd seen me with such dilated pupils............. ???

the hosts are always like "go on, say it, you can say what you like over here" (after the 9pm watershed of course)
Tuva!! I went for an eyetest and the optician lady put some drops in my eyes so she could take a closer look. The she left me all alone to negotiate the world all by myself......!!

well...we had a group of 300 middle school students at a party tonight and I thought it would be fun to knock them down. It didn't go so well... I went down instead...my back isn't very happy.
Q7---aksed
Smeltz - it could be worse -- waaay back when I was a Cub Scout, my pack went to a roller rink and one of the den mothers stepped out on the rink floor, lost her balance, and landed wrong, thus breaking her leg. My father who had been about to go out on the floor himself, turned around and returned his rented skates. Thankfully he didn't make me do the same.
when I was a wee little scout...I peed on an electric fence.
thanks harpjane. Don't you just hate it when you spend ages looking for a word that turns out to be really straight foward?
