Argh...didn't finish yesterdays...on to todays!
Morning all :)
hiya all, back for more torture!
And we're off..... (I'll say!!!!)
morning everyone:
morning Debs :)
Morning Woulf ;)
I missed by 18, Blue, how 'bout you?
hello all...
me either, eastern; missed by 2 gi's. Onwards and upwards. Evening or morning all.
how many have you got, zubie?? ; )
i want to buy a vowel....
I'm with you, renfield -- only 4!?! Not the best grid for the weekend, IMHO
65 words tday
H 6/24
I am going to make the prediction that this puzzle won't have many words. It only has a few vowels and a bunch of typically unusable letters like w's and stuff. I am predicting that I will be monkey typing for most of the morning. : )
HI again everyone!
68 words
perhaps this is in phonics lingo
c6/24, c6/27
68 words sounds friendly!
65 or 68 someone said 65 and someone said 68
found the fish on the board!
more excrement words...
I was missing 66
Wow, it's a dinky grid. And I came armed with chili cheese fries because I thought I'd need brain food.
oh - wait - they're all here... : )
Great effort, Blue!! I was using a2z at the end just to see how far it would get me ;)
Hiya Griffs - did your mom make it to her destination safe & sound?
LOL, Blue Hi Griff!!
too many chores during the part of the day when my brain actually works! This late hour is not my best time!
She did, EB, thanks. Not without excitement. I said last night that I was in and out there in a half hour...but what I didn't know is that about a minute after I left they evacuated the terminal... But she still got out ahead of schedule and made it home in a neat 12 hrs.
NEVERMIND i see he has it posted already
that's a looong trip...glad she's safe & sound! : )
So far she hasn't called me crying to say she can't stand it and wants to come back. (I look forward to that tomorrow.) In the meantime it's beer and chili fries and babble. I enjoy being a girl.
OK, I'm done. That was fun.
Babble away friend...it provides a sense of order (or frustration : ) )
raseboys - finished already? :o
Wow, done already?!?!? I'm still in my 'stare at the grid and determine whether I wish to make this commitment' phase.
GW - where's the fish?
raseboy = word savant....WOW!
holy bear scat, mama, that's what you have under that pelt?
* in awe *...... : )
Just kidding. but it shouldn't take long.
LOL!!! verrrrrrrry funny !! : D
Griffs - mama & were trying to liven up the luau from yesterday....
Fish has an alternate meaning as well, starts in lower right
Mama - did you see Griffs post - she mentioned "she enjoys being a girl"...now I have THAT song in my head!!!
Griffums - it is not acceptable to post words from the grid in the log.... LOL LOL LOL !!!!!! And I was dressed for a hawaiian party that never happened! *heavy sigh*
Haha raseboys. You had me almost giving up, there! :P I'm on 26 now.
"that song in your head" is known as an EARWORM, by the way. EEEEEEEUUUUUUUW!
29 words.... off to bed with the grid ..... nighty night! :D
40 and counting ;P
hooo hooo!! zubie! I got more than you! yayyy! I feel soooooo good! :)
I hadn't even looked at the grid for real yet, mama, so I beg ignorance. (You don't all have to nod so vigorously.)
'Night, Babbler.
G'Nite Babbler Sleep well!!
Well, then we had a whole swarm of them earworm buggers in the last grid!!, huh, guys????
GW....... : ( there goes my buzz......
...but now I put that in there. That's ONE!
Bab -- there you go again --- you beat zubie, go with it Besides, I haven't been chatting as much :)

hi stillcrazy
Sunny days, sweeping the stars away, on my way to where the air... is .... sweet.... hi stillcrazy!
good to see you all
MAMA - your icon doesn't match your song
I thought the sunny day was sweeping the CLOUDS away?
Oh and btw, Griff - I was jk about the posting a word chastisement.... I know you didn't mean it!!!!
I couldn't mean it if I didn't know it! I am such a dork.
it matches still crazy tho'
I stand corrected. Thank you Griff...... been singing too much tonite!
Hoi GW! Telling Babbler to beat me? :P
I can't BELIEVE I missed 'atlatl' from yesterday's puzzle! And I was an anthro major!! ***says ala Jayne*** Its one of my very favorite words.
I'm guessing you could sing just about anything in that getup and get no complaints...
Hoi back, zubie -- I'm just advising Bab to cherish the victories she finds
Oof! Oooof! Big effort! ......*squinnnnch* I'm up to TEN!
*cherishes her victories* ; ) deffo off to bed! LOL!!!!
Well, GW. Let's hope you support me as much, someday! :P :D
boatierra - we're all allowed to make misteaks : )
Ok - brag time - done! A personal best. eek eek. See y'all tomorrow night.
wow! go Charm!
G'Nite again, Babbler (*Hugs*)
Charm - I am in awe!
Darn, I'm only at 45!!! Congrats on a well run race, Charm :D Good Night and Sleep Well
Wow, Charm!
Charm - what are you going to do now for the next 23 hours??? good job!
he-he. Maybe I should hum old tv theme songs more often! Tomorrow there'll be over 400 words and I'll have jinxed myself thoroughly. really am off to the land of nod, now....
'night Charm...
doo-di-doot-doo, there's 30...
Just wanted to see if my 'sex symbol' took this time....See ya on the flipside....
Ahhh, sexless again....
45 and hi GW. Hope you're still at 45! How many words in total anyway?
Zubie - I am now at 50 out of 68

Woulfie WAG = monkey typing...
Wild a** guess!!!!
gotcha :)
They certainly won`t be forgotten Debs :)
I think I discovered the secret....Let's see.
Morning dear gang! What a small one... and I have to enjoy this one to the hilt, because it is my last one for this week. This afternoon I will be off for a week with 5 of my friends, in a cottage with mini swimming pool and sauna, and we will be playing the Transformation game. No computers there!
a little more chili, a little more beer, 40
wowie - sounds wonderful sprite!
Morniing sprite!
Nope. Beats me, I'm off to lala land. 'nite. again.
Ooops Sprite you`re posting words from the grid!!! Morning to you though :)
Sprite...good to see you...but won't you miss the jacuzzi here?? : )
sprite... sounds heavenly... take me with!
Yes, it will be great. No time for cold babble turkey ;) Hi Woulf *hug*
(*hugs back*)
MAMA, you are welcome! Words from the grid??? *scrolls back like mad and tries all words from her own post right away*
Good for you Sprite don't forget the chocolate
H4/5 Sprite!!!
LOL Blaze... I have packed 2 boxes of chocolate - and I am sure the other ladies did something similar. We went last year and it has been such a wonderful week, we declared it tradition. Chocolate included.
Sprite - a chocolate vacation...sounds divine!
trying one more thing...
Have a fantastic time ! :) We`ll miss you.
chic - you are "sexed" now....
Oops. I entered about 13 words without even having to look. And now I think I used them up ;) Not a single one in sight! Nasty grid, right?
Ah computers... what a trip!
it is very tight and not so simple
Actually, not too bad if I could finish already!!! TA DA!!!!
Really done this time. What a short one.
Well, I don't think I will miss Babble, but I most certainly will miss you!
chic if you are trying to change your icon.... did you clic up load ??? that was my hitch many times
Whoooooo Mamabear...WTG!!!!!
MAMA, you are done? Way to go!
raseboy - are you sure you're not crying wolf?? (no offense Woulfie!!) I mean - you said you finished before LOL!
Yippee mamabear!
crank, crank - there's 50
Congrats Mama!!!!!!!
doing the babble tree dance for you MAMA
we will miss you too sprite!!! have a wonderful, relaxing, restful, (oh good lord, I'm making myself so jealous) ... time. chic - did you try refreshing after you change it?
I know, just exaggerating before.
congrats raseboy... : )
I finally figured out that I had to put in a bio and hit 'show profile' button. Duh!
Great going, raseboy. AND chic!
Just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention. I not done *bad mamabear hits self with fish*
Buncha whompin liars in da house!
Mama - I rescind my congrats...
You'll do it, MAMA Congrats, rase
MAMA! I am shocked! :P
LOL Mamabear!
Hi everybody! Just read the log, and, Sprite? Aren't we your friends too? I guess it would be a bit of a squeeze if we all came. Ywis!
hiya mab...
Hoody Hoo!!! Done!! And I am not crying me!! ;D
hi mab!
But I DID find the fishie!!!!! THat's it... the fish made me lie... yeah, that's it..... bad fishie
Well, this is definitely a record for me! Even with a small puzzle. I'm done!
LOL Mab how`d ya squeeze that one in..... Oh and Hi :)
Ywis mab, it would, but it would be fun! Pfui!
Has anyone seen or heard from Hugs lately ????
congrats harpjane...
Harpjane...are you TELLING THE TRUTH? :D
Yay harpjane!! zubie - how you doin'?
EasternBlue, if there ever is a prize for best icons, you will win by miles. I love what you do!
Wonderful, Woulf *an extra hug... darn, I love that* Great, Harpjane!
mab - thanks...it was the luau - I didn't quite match mama's...but didn't want her to party alone!
Oh! GW - I missed your message! Yaaaaay!
Blaze - no, not a word from Hugs. I really hope she is alright. Perhaps just too busy with real life.
oh - almost missed - congrats Woulfie!!
I'm finished as well!
No Blaze, she`s been gone a while now hasn`t she?! Hope she`s ok!
WTG everyone!
(*Hugs to sprite*)
congrats stillcrazy... I must stop chatting & start searching - I'm feeling very behind!!! : )
Good job GW!!!!!!! *mamabear throws arms around GW in jubilant celebration* and congrats, too, harpjane....
Geez! Everyone's done but me, but at least I'm honest about it! :)))
Congrats, stillcrazy!!
Griffs - I'm not done yet...I still have a quite a few to go...
Griffs: I am NOT done. And that's the true!
Yay Grey Woulf!!!! Yay Stillcrazy!!!!!
I'm off to bed early then...have a good night.
(*hugs MAMA back, trips after being thrown offbalance, pulls MAMA down with him as he falls*)
Griffums - you really know how to hurt a bear! I am not done. I think in punishment I will not finish this one even if I can...... *mamabear has learned her lesson it is not nice to fib in babbleland*
Course I'm telling the truth. My face gives me away when I lie....
G'Nite stillcrazy
Sprite, it's just a matter of time before you...finish before I do! Head starts don't help with you around!
So now what ??? no babble for another whole day.... hmm
LOL! They do with this grid, probably. I am 25 and going nowhere with zeal.
oh GW...... what grid... I don't see any grid....
Mama - you can still finish the grid...you are forgiven...(at least by me!)
Mamabear, you mean this is the only place on the net where everything you read is real? WOWOW! :))) I think all these people who are finished should occupy themselves with writing the Babblers Pledge...
LOL, Griff -- that's why I didn't feel safe vs. sprite until I finished
Congratulations to everybody. I'm not done (pfui!), but I suppose I will be soon enough. Kind of want to savor this cute little grid. I think for once I won't need brandyjack's second letter list.
.... in which the words OOPS should figure prominently just sayin
C'mon MAMA, you can do it (*rubs neck and gives big hug*)
Guess I'll go play Quiddler now. If you haven't tried the on-line Set or Quiddler, google Quiddler Daily Puzzle Not as much fun as Babble, mind you...
Have fun, harpjane!
thanks EB!!!! Us hula chicks have to stick together!
LMAO Woulf... like I could finish a grid in about 15 minutes! Now that would be something :P I think I have an average of 100 words per hour, lol.
a little to the right GW....
I see I lied too. I am NOT 25. I was AT 25. :)
One to go!
bye harpjane....
It is a funny grid though. Every time you find a word, you can find about 5 or 6 rhyming once in an instant ;)
68 and done! Little jig of joy. Didn't need the list either! Woohoo!
g'nite harpjane... and as Mr Hope would say... thanks... for the memories....
congrats zubie...
really sprite? you must have a different grid than I
there's 60...
*rhyming ONES* What I am doing this morning??? It is baaaaaad!
good job zubie!!! Maybe I should go to bed and look at this again tomorrow.....
Thanks, Blue!
this was and easy grid. good night
It is time for me to turn in as well, folks. I'll see you tomorrow. Same Babble Time, Same Babble Channel! (*hugs to MAMA, sprite, griffums, and whoever else wnats one*)
congrats marigold
Are you singing in the choir tomorrow, MAMABEAR?
congrats zubie!
I'm out of here now. What will I do for the rest of the 22 hours before the next grid? :o
Oh, zubie, you are so good at this game! Well done!
Oh, it took me forever to find the fish!
Thanks, GW! Are you through too?
Woulf, sleep well and make the gang behave in my absence. I am counting on you :D *warm hug*
WTG zubie!
Goodnight GW!
Zubie da babblebunny!
yes mab - in both services!!! And there are only 5 sopranos in the group. So gotta be on my toes! Good nite GW. sleep well and sweet dreeeemmmmmzzzz *nice big bear hug plus*
I'm out of here. Bye everyone! :)
I have a feeling you really need this vacation, sprite; have a wonderful, wonderful time. We will miss you!
I'll do my best, sprite -- enjoy your retreat!!
Lol, Griffums! :D I'd forgotten about that! Has the BabbleCheetah finished? ;D
bye zubie...
MAMA - Sleep Well, Sleep Tight And now I am gone for real :D TTFN
Sleep well MB, and don't forget to spritz your throat with honey-water. You're so lucky that you can sing! I can sing a little tiny bit, pretty badly....
Night Woulfie...
mab, you are right, I do. And I will enjoy every minute of it. My dear husband takes care of our kids this week, he took the week off from work. So I have nothing to worry about, isn't that something! Nope, I am NOT done... 41 words and stalking the rest ;)
Well, Sprite. I have to leave now. If I can only tear myself away from chatting here!
Just one more word...
zubie, lol, yes, I know. Done with the puzzle and still hanging around... happens to me a lot :) Have a great day/night/whatever.
...and I'm done. My chili cheese fries are done too!
Congrats Griffums!!!
With all the alt. spellings babble is so fond of, I would think someone could have been very rewd to me this week.
I think I'm the only one not done. serves me right for bearfibbing
or bearbaiting
MAMA, enough of that headbanging with dead fish and such. I am not done and we'll hunt together, come on! :)
I'm not done MB. It's not a race, ya know. Well done Griff!
No, sprite's not done either. She's playing today with both hands tied behind her chair and tapping out letters with a swizzle stick. Okay she's probably done.
mama - it's late for me...my brain isn't working too well - I still have 18 to go!
oops...15...I didn't look at my stats....
Not a race. I know - just frustrating when it seems so easy to so many.. how many do you need sprite? I still have 18
(I obviously can't do math at this hour either....)
EB - that's it!!! WE are twins separated at birth!
18 too! :) Getting closer now... But for me it is never a race. I don't care how long it takes, I just want to find all the words.
That'd be pretty catchy for a tombstone, sprite
sprite - that's how I am too...it's a self-imposed need to find them all...not the time it takes to find them!
Trying to tear myself away. I'm enjoying the talk though! Ok. This time I'm REALLY leaving!
Griff!
ROFLMAO!!! Griffs, you're the best. :)
um, Griffs - are you trying to kill off sprite?
night zubie!
murder is frowned upon in Babbleverse (unless it's a word in the grid!)
hey, I'm just sayin
mab - since I'm not finding any words right now, can I change my icon for you? Do you have a picture preference?
I think it would be perfect for a tombstone. I was thinking it would be a great babble motto, but tombstone is even better!
I am very pleased with the tombstone idea, actually :)
Either that or "Oops! That wasn't the right word!"
"Oops! You entered here already!"
or Oops! Your word doesn't exist in the puzzle.
"Oops! One of us is not like the other!"
Or. Here lies ____ _____. May he/she re 4/4 in pe 5/7
oooo...too clever!
You win, MAMA! Hahahahahaha! Wonderful idea.
Sometimes when I'm very tired, I think babble is saying 'oops, that isn't even a word, you idiot!' I see it out of the corner of my eye.
mab, I am sure it does say that. It keeps whispering it to me too.
I see that too, mab! The more times I repeat a word, the more I think the errors are becoming emphatic...
LOL mab!!!!!!
I thought that just happened to me!
Love it, MAMA!!!!
It would be kind of fun if Dr God put a random error generator in there...
It's like it is saying "What part of "NO that word is not in the grid" do you not understand????"
"Ruh-roh! That was a scooby-stupid word!"
Oh, I would love that, Griffs! "Oops, that is the 6th time you tried that, dummie! It is still not valid, don't you get it??"
Or 'loser!'
"You are wasting my time."
Knock it off and type a real word!
"are you sure YOU should be playing this game???"
LOL Griff!!!! OK I wish I could stay - but I have to get up in 4 1/2 hours!!!! Babble, babble, what you do to me.... g'nite everyone! Sweet dreams - thanks for the company!
Ouch! That one stings ;)
Nite Mama...see you tomorrow (hopefully!)
"Is this how you REALLY want to be remembered?" night mamabear!
Sweet dreams, MAMA! I will miss you.
(maybe put some clothes on before you go to church)
Sw5 dr6, MB.
just sayin
5 more... once you get going with this one, it isn't too hard.
will miss you too sprite - tell me all about it when you get back. I am sooooo envious. And your hubby is watching the kids AND took a week off????? You're one lucky sprite!!!! have oodles of restful fun!!!! mmmwwwaaahhhhhhh!!!!!
I can just throw my choir robe over this - no one will notice!
Mama!
I will report :) And yes, I am lucky. I think I have the most wonderful husband anyone could wish. Still madly in love after 12 years together, we are really blessed.
okay that kinda messed me up
Griffs - what did? all the messages to say you're wrong??? They were so clever tho'!
no, the visual of what's under the choir robes...
I think it was the thought of MAMA, naked under her choir gown...
I think that Grif is now wondering what's under those robes in the choir.
I mean, mama is fine, but what about that portly baritone in the back - maybe he's just got a butt floss thong and nothing else... aaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiieeeeee
see what happens when I try to look for words & chat...
Gives 'nearer my god to thee' a whole new meaning
I wasn't going to be naked - I would leave the coconut bra and grass skirt on.... oh well. REFRESH
it's 2:30 a.m. my time - so my brain is a bit fuzzy...
It's best not to dwell on these things this late at night, Griff.
Mama - and the world is right again...
Griff - just read your post about the baritone in the back!!! LOL -- gonna be hard to face those guys in the am!!!!!
what should I have for my picture today??
Facing them is fine, but I don't think I'd turn around...
MAMA, GO get some sleep! LOL Done, I must go and get some things packed together. I will miss you all, you are such a wonderful gang of people. See you in a week!
Oh Griff!! You must launch your stand-up career soon! How does one find you blog?
bye-bye SPRITE! Have a wunnerful time!
sprite - you are INDEED blessed with a hubby like that. *heavy sigh* - go pack & have fun - see ya when you get back!!!! travel safe!
bye sprite - ENJOY your vacation...see you soon...
Godspeed, Sprite -- I'm happy for you.
My blog is at http://www.planetpeg.blogspo t.com but I am not that funny there - it's the exchange of wit that's fun. There's a post about Death-Ray Llamas from Hell in the archives somewhere. But that was a true story.
I now have 17 left to find. Found 1, count em ONE in the last half hour. At this rate I will be here til next Wednesday! Will conquer this beast tomorrow. I am really going now .. hung up my coconuts & donned my footie pajamas!!! nite nite
Have a good one Sprite ;o) Must go myself, children demanding breakfast!!! Ttfn
Thanks. I'm thinking, Griff, that you must write pretty well; will enjoy checking it out (frustrated blogger myself - afraid I won't have enough material).
night lotti night mama
Night Lotti, MAMABEAR on the coconut shell. Go. Now. You need sleep. Go on.
Mab, that's the reason I started blogging - to make myself write most days, without thought to whether it's good writing. Just making myself practice.
lotti, how very unreasonable of your kids to demand breakfast before you are done babbling! ;) I am really off now, thanks for all the sweet wishes and keep up the babbling for me!
Memo to Dr God and Brandyjack - TEN TIMES THE POINT VALUES ON ALL PUZZLES THIS WEEK while Sprite's away! Oh never mind, we'd still never catchup.
We'll keep a list of freakish and impossible words for you. Bye; travel safely.
...oh oh oh! Wouldn't it be cool if 'sprite' came up in one of the grids this week? Also creepy.
Griffs - we'll make note if it does...
Oooo. Almost like a Ouija board.
Ooooh. And then it would say "Oops! You people are getting nowhere without my help!"
Imagine: going on vacation and not taking a laptop with you. Eerie. Another bad thought for this hour.
morning all :) only 68 words...this is gonna take hours.....
hi sherb...some of us chat too much to look for words!
I've never taken vacations, ever. And last year before I made the drive back from Pennsylvania back home to Alaska, I spent a week in upstate Vermont - on Lake Champlain renting a lake house with three internet friends I'd never met in person before. It was spectacular to shut the laptop and leave it behind!
Hi Sherb! Apparently it's an incredibly easy grid. (I'm savoring, but everyone else is finished)
but Griffs, how did you talk to them without your laptop?? LOL
tee hee!!! As it happened, we all had mouths that worked! :)))
hi sherb! This one's easy - no long words, not too many Stupidhead(tm) words even.
hi EB, and Griff, and mab :) I'll savour too, mab...no lists or wordfinder today...
oh..the OLD FASHIONED way... ; )
speaking of laptops, I found out how to get a free laptop computer, i am working on getting one...
Okay. I'm saving 16 words for tomorrow and now I'm going to actually read and actual book. Be careful Pearjam, it can be dangerous out there on the web.
night mab...see you tomorrow...
okay mab Oh, dear, I just went back in the log - did you see that mamabear changed her icon? and now her choir robe is on over full fur? (see 1.32 am)
any clues for le4/5
http://pcs.freepay.com/?r=2349 6959 this is the website for a free laptop computer, now my wife won't be able to get after me for hogging up the computer
what do you mean mab?
Let's see - EB are you still there? I was going to hang in as long as you did...
enjoy the book mab...I don't read as much as I used to, now that I Babble
I have already scored a free iPod from this company and they are a reputable organization...
Griffs...yes, but I'm fadin'
I only have 5 words left to find...trying to figure them out...but I seem to keep typing in the same words : )
oooo, pretty icon. One of these days I need to change my hat I guess.
My mother has gotten a sort of vocal tic where she says "oops!" to everything. So I play babble and it's like she never left....
clues for le4/5
jackets - le4/5 - with that points score, there's only a few letter combinations that would work :)
Griffs - too funny! I think I'm getting that idiot msg!
I know nothing about this specific offer, I'm just very ssupicious when I hear the word 'free.' I'm sure you know what you're doing. I shouldn't' be a buttinsky. Yes, Griff, that must be quite a sight. And she's a soprano too.
Well, EB, the time to be fearful is when the messages keep coming but you've already filled in the grid...
phttt
phttt?
(gosh did I say that out loud?)
and when your cat walks across your notebook and scores a better word that you do....
HAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Renfield - my hubby is allergic, I can't even rely on a cat to help me!!
renfield - I have no cats, but my monkeys certainly score more words than I do!
okay...now I SWEAR it's taking words I tried typing in before...AAARGH!!
hey thanks for the help got it
jackets - y/w I would have looked for the word, but I'm amusing myself by trying to create a pattern from the greyed out boxes on the stats panel...
Delayed reaction - just thought of the perfect tombstone remark: "You have 0 words left to find."
Griff - hilarious! and profound...
Griffs....ROFL....
(I'm trying purposely to be profound to atone for my butt floss remark.)
*ahem* (clears throat) You have 0word(s) left to find I am FINISHED!! : )
I am only 9 and my target is 10 can only get 7 arkasey I need help!!!
EasternBlue is BigBlue now!!!
oh yeah, I read that one...gave me my first laugh of the day! By the way, talking of laughing, has anyone read 'The Ladies Loo' on Babblers Anonymous? Jacula posted it in the joke section - it had me nearly wetting myself :D
Now I can go to bed... Goodnight 1 and all...happy babbling!!!
Well, the wait was everything I hoped it would be, EB. Goodnight!
well done Blue! goodnight and sweet dreams :)
I haven't been on babanon - haven't taken the time to figure out the login and etc. Sounds like now I have some incentive!
Anj posted some funnies too...I don't even know if you have to register to see them...
And I'm out. I managed to stretch this easy puzzle into two and a half hours sitting here anyway! 'Night sherb, and all -
you don't have to login...you can just visit
okay I'll check it out. 'Night!
nite Griff...thanks for the humour :)
COMPLETED! DONE IN FOURTEEN MINUTES! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
okie, all done now, see y'all later
well done Tuva! and now what are you going to do?
elvis is leaving the building - sleep well
bye ramix...night renfield, sleep well :)
sherb... it was an easy day today... it is 2:26 in the morning... I think my nest step is to go to sleep!
you mean you started playing at 2.00 in the morning? man, you've got it bad (or you work shifts?) lol
just got home from the bar....

My daughter draws really cool faeries, she's illustrating the book I'm writing...
How's the book going, by the way?

Fellow Babblers will prolly be the first to know if & when I get published.... I spend more time here than with my family, LOL
Wow, sounds great, Jera :)
Geez louise. I think I finished this in record time. oh boy!!!!!
Best of luck Jera, sounds very consuming
Hey, good luck with your book Jera :)
It's a kids book, so not as involved as a novel, but it means a lot to me...
Jera, good luck with the book. Maybe it will end up in my school's library some day! That would be great.
Chidrens books are the most important books in the world. Remember we are thier teachers
Last word... the stupid u one!
It's a somewhat educational book, so that would be a great honor! It's actually intended for Girl Scouts, but anyone could enjoy it (& maybe learn something, ya never know with kids!)...
Whoo-hoo, I'm done! Is anyone stuck?
Happy Sunday eerybody! How are you all doing?
Mornin' Jen you almost missed me!
Right on Jera the Girl Scouts is an excellent educator in itself you go girl
Jera, are you and the kids recovered fully?
It's one of the greatest honors in my life to be Girl Scout Leader...
I'm still barking, jen... having a little heart trouble because of it (I have a murmur). Kids are doing great, LOL... that's the way it always seems to go...
Anyone got a clue for CU5/14
Jen, are you rocking?!
I have no children so I was a big sister for years. Now I'm just the Aunt of 10 and Great Aunt to 17. I came from a very large family.
I hope you get rid of that cough soon Jera, so we can finally get that coffee! Hey there MF!! I'm groovy-groove! You?
cu- you cu** your hair (not straight)
Thanks Faeriekae but I have that one
mags, do you have the cu5 that is like cottage cheese?
I'm...listening to depressing dir en grey songs. So I'm great, thanks!
I have to work on a sunday and there are only 68 words!!!!! why couldn't be a day with 400 words.... ;D
cottage cheese - small or large cu**
What the ??? I have 70 words and 1 more word to find? I'm having a little difficulty w/this. Any1 else having a problem?
and then in the plural form
oh well, I finished the puzzle, but I can't change my icon. What an ego deflator. LOL
mags i SWEAR i dont know!!!!!
to change your icon, upload it in your profile and the log out and log back in.
Morning everyone
ah mtn. I tried that.
I agree, mtnjock. We get these puny ones when we have time to tackle...a mountain! ;-)
lol artlady... punny as ever @ 8am...
this puzzle was the easiest I remember in a long, long time
mags, do you still need help w/cu5/14?
fit1, upload, clear your cache and then log back in...
Most of today's words are in common usage for a change! Finished in just over an hour....which is unheard of for me.
fit1, I think it was easier because it had normal words.
And that's with no caffeine in my system yet...
I am about to go for coffee, want some?
did I miss an arrival? If so then hi
I'm outta here...cya
Jen & faeriekea those are 5/ 16 need 5/14 got the one not straight & honest. thanks
Hey Miy, artlady, I am from South Bend! LOL... what part of Chi-town are you in?
I did. Hey Mtn, are you ROCKING today?
thanks mtn Jack. I think I've done it. :)
mags, take your other 5/14 (the one that you put a hex on people), and change the last letter to make it past tense.
no Miy, I WISH, I am at work way tooooooo early to be rocking, though I will be when I get off. Cowboy Mouth is playing at the local pub (their home bar) and I am going to be there!
Nw suburbs, originally from NW Wisconsin, altho I've been down here in the "south" since .... a long time.
Thanks for the coffee offer...I'm trying to get this thing worked on before I head to UU church.
Thanks Jen got it now I must be thick. regards.
LOL... spent my summers in Bemidji MN and two rivers WI... (family)
Ah, what is the time in America? It's just gone 2 here...so we're all rocking :D
Java Cabana is next door... so I am lucky ... Chocolate covered coffee beans!
Miy, its 8am, uhhggggg
I've camped near both places! My mother lives up near Rice Lake, WI, now. Lakes, trees....tourists, boats, snowmobiles...
Miy, you are way too energetic for us this early in the a.m.!
...altho I have Bob Seger on last.fm right now...
very cool, I lived by lincoln park when I worked in Chi-town... I actually worked on Rush Street at the Fridays there (LOL) and for Sears
Artlady, Just Bob, or Him and the silver bullet band?
A busy area, mtn!
AGainst the wind, right now. I'm just streaming and writing and typing...
It was during the time of the 'show bar' cocktail time... It helped to put me through college
Mtn, do you flare?
yep! I won the midwest regionals 3 years running with my partner lars, (91-93)
Only 8?! Only 8 in the morning! Everybody back to bed NOW!
Its how I meet and entertain people these days... being an engineer makes people think you are a nerd.
Wow! I've never seen it in person, just a documentary on TV. It's amazing, but you must go through a lot of bruised toes during practice...
of course, maybe you never dropped anything...
I'm back... had to deal with a potty emergency (& clean-up). What did I miss??
oh please artL, broke a toe this past mardi gras... I work for a lars who has a bar in New Orleans, and he loves to make me show off when I am there.
practice practice practice... otherwise, you hit the clientele
mtjock, you are an engineer?? I love engineers!
MF, it's after 9 where I am... is that less obscene?
lol, mtn! Geez, 20 minutes and I'm up to the r's...what will I do today? I may have to (gasp) do housework??? Oh, well, football's on later...
thank you Jera, I love open minded people who embrace themselves (i.e. you). I hope your emergency wasn't bad.
We partied last night, so I have to do some serious cleaning on the living room... by party I mean my family ordered pizza, ate popcorn & watched all the Star Wars movies...
Jen, that's okay at a pinch...I had to crawl out of bed at 9 this morning for church, felt like I was dying
My husband has alpha geek on his business cards... he's a computer engineer... I like weird, smart people... & I mean that as a compliment (some people don't think weird is a compliment). What variety of engineer are you?
Oh, poor Miyavi...I'm heading there soon. Of course, I went to bed obscenely early last night, too.
Wait'll yo have kids Miy... it gets worse. When he was born, my son was up eating every 2 hours!
One of the great things about being Pagan is you don't have to get up at a certain time on Sundays (just as early as possible to Babble)!
Jera, some of the best parties are those that you share with loved ones. ScoutsMom and I throw 'celebrity' parties (its a game kinda like charades or catch phrase) and we end up playing late into the night
Ah, Jera, that's why I like the UUs. They like everyone, even me. I like the brain use--the minister is a very interesting speaker (not--note--preacher).
I didn't technically go to bed last night... fell asleep on the couch in the middle of The Empire Strikes Back... my 9 year old kept smacking me... MOM! Didja see that?? How coooool was that?? LOL
My best friend in college was Wiccan, so my eyes were opened early in adulthood. She made me take a class in ancient religions (engineers have to have social studies classes too) with her. It was great, because the teacher taught christianity as one as well.
I have some Wiccan friends, bt I'm not discipline enough for all that...
ArtL, I go to a Congragational Church (kinda like the UU)... was raised polish catholic, imagine that from South Bend and raised Catholic... LOL
I have a good friend who's a Wiccan...she also attends the same UU church. We both love to sing. She's in the choir, tho and I keep my singing quiet in the crowd... (note, loving to sing doesn't mean I'm GOOD at it!)
...to parade my ignorance around for all to see, um...Wiccan? Sounds to me like a type of basket...
Artlady!!!!!! How dare you keep your voice quiet... a choir is a group of people who listen to each other and sing (doesn't mean any of them is good either). enmass they create magic.
The Pagans I associate with have a UU building as their home base. They're a fun bunch, but I have to travel a bit to hang out with them, since I moved. Still quivering in the broom closet here!
Rats, done. Have to come back later to type them in. I like to do them on paper first. BBL all, enjoy your days...
See you later, Artlady :)
Ah, Jera. You have to find the right friends. However (unfortunately) there are far too many narrow-minded, judgemental people out there.
Wiccan is a earth religion, usually emphasising female aspect of the diety (ies). Witch is a broader term. Pagan even broader.
Morning all! :-) Sounds like some interesting conversation this morning.
Thanks, artlady... see ya later!
(snips furiously at cord gluing self to computer so she can dry her hair and get presentable...)
Wicca (which was in a babble puzzle last month) is the ancient religion worshiping mother earth and the creator. Harming no one (a credo) and creating only good energy for the world (a very simplized explantion I know, but google it, you would be surprised at how very spiritual it is).
*dons black and gold ceremonial robes, adjusts ivy head wreath and extolls virtues of harmony with Nature*
Jera, my friend just labeled herself 'spiritually in touch with herself'. Artlady (enjoy and bye) is right about the narrow minded stuff.
Okay, thanks :) *blushes at ignorance*
Plus we have great bonfire parties in the woods (clothing optional when weather permits)! Not so much the Wiccans, they really like their robes & accessories...
Jera, does you family follow the same views?
BRB... gotta do some work things..
My husband is agnostic, but lets me do what I want. I'm trying to keep the kids well-rounded (aware & respectul of many paths) until they are old enough to decide for themselves.
No problem, miyavi... without ignorance there would be no need for teachers (& I love teaching)! It's determined ignorance I have a problem with...
you go, Jera! That's what I did with my kids. I'm now leaving. Really. Honestly.
Jera if you saw me without robes you`d say i was well rounded too!!!!! LOL Hi all :)
Jera. I agree. Shouldn't we all have the ability to choose. I present my son with as much knowledge as I have, expose him to all I can. And, when he is old enough to make those decisions, he will be able to select what is special and meaningful to him.
*doesn't know whether to believe artlady or not... still considering *
Movieman here...just posting 2 check how my new icon looks...(as u can c, I am a BIG Prince fan...) ;oD
Ah, Lotti :) Always guaranteed to make an entrance that makes me laugh!
movieman! The icon is alive and well! ;-)
lotti... that doesn't matter... it's funny how some of the freest clothing people are the ones many would not consider aesthetically pleasing. It's a freedom, not a display...
And Hi, Movieman, are you rocking? (must stop saying that)
I'm afraid we haven't been to church in quite a while... one of the hard things about moving is finding a new place! You'd think it would be easy to find a Methodist church with a nice traditional service, but nooooooo. Everything is a bit too contemporary for our tastes.
Miyavi, I'm rocking as long as the world is turning...!!! lol...
Jen, I was raised fundamentally, & you know that was one of the reasons I first started becoming dissatisfied with my religion. Too much "improvement." I'm very traditional. Which is conducive to ritual, I suppose...
Looking good Movieman!! Hiya Miyavi, looking into Wiccan are you? I must admit i know only what i`ve read or being told on the chat log about it. I don`t think it`s as common in UK.
My church is kind of different. No organ, but a keyboard, electric guitars and a drum kit (miiiine! Well. Not really mine, but I play it often enough ^_^)
Always good to hear, Movieman :D
Lotti, I'd never heard of it before now...
I think there are more Druidic types in UK, maybe the Stonehenge proximity?? I have many Druid friends in England.
how many all totaled today kids ?
A mere 68 babs...
Oh well, we live and learn Miyavi :) Jera I still think my "freedom" is better covered up!!!
lotti, i would say that its more popular in the states. Mexico also has a good bit as well.
Methodist is pretty standard in beliefs as far as Protestants go (I like to think of them as the white bread of Protestants), but give me the organ and choir in robes, not the electric guitar and drums.
Yeah, I think our church is more geared towards youth, though lots of the, er, no longer twenties enjoy it as well
ty jera
all must remember ---- your faith is in your heart
I`ve been brought up Methodist, but I don`t go to church on a regular basis. If my children asked to go, i`d take them though. My daughter came to the church anniversary with me :)
Faerie, I think if you're a true believer, your faith is everywhere!
Got to go out to friends. See you all later :)
See you :)
And I'm done. Way too easy today!! :) Need to go fix breakfast for the family. Have a great rest of the day guys!
Bye and well done Jen :D
Miyavi_fan - have the best of days
hm?
hello everyone!
Miy, your church sounds very UU and Congragational.. It would be fun to know what type drum they have. But as far as wicca goes (or pagenism) everyone should be able to choose the path towards the greater good that is best suited for them. Including athiesm (sp)
Hello, 72 Temple Owl!
Hey Temple :)
woo - looked at the stats first - but this is a little toughie! so many consonants, so little time : )
with all this religious talk, and p4/9 in the puzzle... hmmmm wonders if Dr_God is doing some subliminal programming...
I can respect that :)
very windy here in Michigan..keep losing power
mmmm.... you never know. Speaking of 'p's - any ideas on the pe5/12?
pe5 - danger
Mtn, that's what I was thinking...and it's a Sunday, as well
Hello everyone :) Wasn't this a nice little teaser for a sunday?
for 13 Miy, you are very mature, I didn't know your age until I looked at your profile today.
LOL, mtn. :-) That would explain our common addiction. Hope Dr G doesn't have any grape koolaid .... ;-)
LOLA! Coosin! I have missed you!
starts doing the 'dance of joy'
faeriekae, my mother is in N. Mich. She told me that sometime this week there were winds up to 60 mls an hour!!
broll - thank you:)
LOL @ Jo...
lol! Hey coosin! Me too, how've you been?
And a good bit of old english...
Good, did you see that Beau made the puzzle?
Lola, it's faerie day... I was bragging on your cool icon...
*ego swelling* wow, thanks Mtn ^_^
Friday that is... It was funny! and the first word I saw in it.
yw
Yes I did! I sent him some special lola snuggles when I found him in there too :)
And Hi to Lola! I keep missing people today! It's a Sunday thing...
wow first time i completed the puzzle without help
honest evaluation, I thought you were in your early 20's, in college, hating math class, and very well spoken...
Jera, in that case, give me a second to get changed...
hmm correction: first time i finished without needing clues heheh
I asked for a clue for the other be4 (not my dogs name), and Baggo broke out laughing and said, thanks for the clue for my other be4 I was missing.
micamonkey, WAY TO GO! :-) That's an accomplishment non the less!
jo: hehe thank u im just lucky its a small puzzle :)
Jo what part of Mi, I'm in the Bay City/Midland area
Miyavi, I must say you are the most articulate 13 year old I've ever met!
jera, refresh :) mtn- what did beau think? After all, I know he finds the hard words for you :)
faeriekae :-) My grandmother is in Saginaw! My mother is on Rogers City, near Alpena.
He thought Dr G was trying to get on his good side and get puppy kisses from him.
damn i think i have to start putting "babble pro account" on my wishlist, right next to flickr pro account lol
*does happy faerie dance with Lola & faeriekae*
maybe somebody will be nice for christmas lol
*beaming* Everyone's being so kind today! Last time this happened, it was because they put too much chlorine in the water... ...but seriously, thank you :)
heck, he found the cu6(opposite of charmed) for me this morning before I headed to work.
twirling around ** and around the flutter of wings are all around us
Jo so cool, I've been in Mi for almost 17 yeas, thats 17 years of hell. I hope to be moving back to Kentucky or to S. Caroline sometime in the next couple of years
Oh go on mtn, admit it! He found all the 6's for you, didn't he? lol :)
no, He only found the one (dangit), but probably is playing at home while I am here though... How is the babe?
faeriekae!!! That's so true. I can't get my mother to leave, but I was sure ready to go! I've been in the S (between FL and ATL) for nearly 10 years. I love the Carolinas, you can't go wrong there!
faeriekae - I have you beat. I have been in this state (MI) for 40 years. why? why? why? I have my house for sale right now and contemplating a move south...
hey mtn - i'm flattered to be quoted in your profile
Gotta go my power is out and I have to get my a** in gear to go grocery shopping
Bye, faeriekae!!
I lived on Hilton Head Island in S. Carolina for 3 yrs and loved every day of it. Hope to go back there.
bye faeriekae, and evanout all good thoughts and quotes should be savored like good wine ... and revisited often. That just struck me on a great chord.
'bye faerie :) mtn, you really should let him go pro, you know! Do you mean the three year old of mass destruction and mirth? She's good :)
bye Lola - very cool icon
Thanks faerie, I like her :)
micamonkey, that's what several friends of mine are getting for the holidays (pro-babble accounts)!
LOL... he will have to get back in my good graces before he goes pro... He partied too hard last night. The neighbors dog came over this morning (4am) and let him out of the back yard (he's a border collie that uses his nose to open the gate). Beau and Josie terrorized the neighbor hood until Josie's mom called and asked why beau was in her back yard with josie... I won't tell you what they were doing...
I am sorry, all dogs get the male inflections, Josie is felmale.
Oh my goodness! LOL! I always knew Beau was a lady's man....but not a playboy! :)
well, lets just say, Josie has been over before, but its the first time they stayed at her place! My neighbor wants to know what his intentions are... LOL
Rats, I missed faeriekae!
Miy, not only is there p4/9 but l4/9 ... hmmmm I am buying into the subliminal programming more and more... but not quite sure of his direction...
Love your icon, Jo!
Ty, Jera. I'm a big fan. His work is so emotional and expressive.
Mtn, I need to find it first! *sheepish*
Oooh, I think I may have to plan another wedding soon! LOL!
think creepy old man with dirty thoughts.. (use the w)
hey jo...expensive to?
le4/6 & le4/9 go together...
LOL, Lola, what is your 3 yo's name (and has she seen the incredibles, specifically Jack Jack attack?). Scout (of scoutsMom) is Jack Jack with her mom isn't around.
Jo, please excuse my ignorance, but who's work is that? It looks amazing and I'd like to try to check out some more :)
Yes, evanonut :-) I'm cheap tho, go for the prints. ;-)
Gwyd worships Jack-Jack... (he just turned 4)
i'm cheap too jo, i'll look at your icons!
diego rivera -- http://www.diegorivera.com :-)
Thanks Mtn :) Though, disturbingly, you just described my maths teacher
I thought I recognized that... he is amazing.
no, that is your math-phobia talking... LOL I am sorry if that is true!
mtn- her name is Isabel, and yes, she loved the Incredibles. Her faves are ice age and barbie of swan lake right now though :)
I'm KARI the babysitter that K not C ...
We are currently in a Winx & Tokyo Mew-mew phase... just you wait, Lola...
Thanks jo! That name is familiar but I am a real art ignoramus I'm afraid. I am trying to educate myself though :)
Well, we are starting part deux of the Star Wars-a-thon... gotta go do the family thing...
Colour me lucky, then. My son is ALL about superheros. I get to take him to Batman Begins & watch action movies with him. Somehow that beats "Barbie in Swan Lake.." Poor Lola, LOL.
'bye jera, have fun! :)
My brother is a painter (among other things), so he's really helped open my eyes. I've used his work as my icon before. Hang on....
Awwwwwwww Isabel, how sweet. Is it weird that I love formal names? Scouts real name is Harper Lily. I hate that I grew up in 'bland' generation x ish where every one is named mark rick or steve. (which is my name)
*hisses at mention of B-word* How old is yours, Jo?
LOL, Mtn!! If anyone wants to see my brother's work, refresh :-)
Hi all, I have 62 with 6 to go. Stuck on only 'e' in puzzle. Anyone can give me a hint of # of letters and direction. Also, anyone experience where get a word rejected only to find it on the list the next day?
Mtn, we attract some weird teachers in my school...because of an ICT teacher, I can't hear the word 'floss' without having a giggling fit
Wow, Jo...
marc, el + greeting (4 letters)
Jo, I tried to pretend that the whole barbie thing didn't exist, but three year olds have a way of finding out! B of Swan Lake has a lot of the ballet in it though and she does her version of it all round the house, very cute :)
I monkey-typed the e. But the def is: Of, relating to, involving, or designed for use in grades 1 to 12
Floss.... I will randomly put that in the chat log for you... giggles and gafaws are what makes life worth living .
hey jo. that's good sh*t - as my brother would say.
*controls laughter* If you knew the connection, Mtn...
that is impressive Jo, does he have a web site! lola - at least she isn't into Barney!
I'm really leaving now... bye all! I'll check in later...
mtn, thanks. Don't know why I chose Isabel, it was just kind of her name all along. Her second name is Amy which means 'much loved'.
Later Jera :)
That's great, Lola. Little girls are precious. I have two young nieces, they are so fun to be around. Thanks, Miyavi. I'll pass along your WOW. ;-)
Later Jera...
mtnjock, I'm working on one for him. (The benefit of having a graphic designer/marketing guru for a sis) Its not quite ready, but soon ... I''ll let everyone know when its ready!
hi guys, just discovered this place, looks great - was today's puzzle especially hard as they go? pv
evanonut!! LOL
Er, mtn...guess what she found in the video section of the library yesterday?! The very same purple dinosaur of dread and loathing :/
You better, Jo :) In fact, make that a WOW!! And possibly throw in some kind of 'Gott in Himmel!'...I usually say that these days :)
I was about to offer to make him one. Art is meant to be appreciated by the world. Especially when its made for the sake of art and not commercial fodder.
hurshy have you started yet?
well, if she must be exposed to pure evil early in her life, at least she will be singing 'I love you, you love me...'
Wait, I spoke too soon. This is what he has right now, but he has much more work that is not posted right now. The woman, BTW, is his wife. :-) http://www.mexicoexpat.co m/
i never could paint jo, but give me random pieces of metal and junk and i'm genius.
Thanks Jo! Excuse me for a bit, off to check out the two art sites :)
very cool evan... I can play cello ... but as my conducter said in college... "You play with precision and accuracy, but you can't make the instrument sing." Its when I decided to start playing only for me ... :/ I realized that he was pushing me towards focusing on the things I could make sing (computers and machines)
Is it just me, or is Barney the dinosaur really sinister? It's like that McDonalds clown, reminds me of Pennywise!
Thanks doxy but tried every el combo and none exist. Something is wrong. Please help if you can. MF
nice mtn, you have to do the things that you can't keep yourself from avoiding. when i have to make something, it is an obsession that frightens my husband.
Marc, try googling: "Of, relating to, involving, or designed for use in grades 1 to 12"
how words are there today?
68, I think
68 words
I know, when I am working on stained glass, my roommate has to come down (my workshop is in my basement) and tell me to go to bed (usually 3am). My grinder is under his room... LOL
good, thanks
mtnjock ... stained glass!! I love that! Do YOU have a website ;-)
HI marc, el + a greeting
Thanks Mtn (clue stealing) had been looking for that one for ages :)
yeehaw!!! been playing this for about a month now and finally finished one! I've bee completing about 75-80%. Must be the soothing effect of the snow falling outside :) .
Way to Go, toymaker!!!
no, sadly I don't. I love to do frank lloyd wright geometrical types. I should though... My biggest accomplishment is that there is a bar here that has his glass in it, and they let me repair a broken panel.
miyavi - one of my favorite barney moments was on sat nite live tv - when barney came up against basketball player charles barkley...LOL *evil grin*
Again, wow and Gott in Himmel! The only art I can do passably is fanart, really
mtn, poor man. my friend does stained glass, very precise art. i respect that. mine usually involves paper clips (blissfully quiet), or a welder, (not so quiet)
mtnjock, wow! That's very cool ...
Temple, he gave me nightmares when I was younger! (two weeks ago)
Miyavi, we all have our own creative talents. Some people discover them in a way that can be shown to the world ... :-)
I guess, Jo :) Though I never seem to show mine to anybody, mainly because they're all done in my school notebook (oops)
miyavi - barney or chrales barkley? : D
LOL Miy, seriously, I took it up 3 years ago after being a huge fan of the art form. Art (good or bad) should come from the heart.
mtnjock... you do stained glass?
Temple, both are equally disturbing...it was Barney in the nightmare though XD He was trying to eat me, I think, and he had a chainsaw
hello all :) ...back again, with 25 still to find...
Hey Sherb :D Are you rocking?!
Yes I do, I lose myself in designs... I actually took blue prints from work, because the design of the system looked like it needed to be placed in glass... silly huh.
Well guys, my tummy is yellling at me for food! Happy babbling...
not silly mtn...genius
not so silly. I did stained glass for well over 15 years before I took up the torch. Need any supplies?
bye, jo...
Genius indeedy :)
hey Miyavi :) rocking? ...well, I wouldn't go quite that far, but I'm chilled this afternoon...took Friday off, so I've enjoyed a long weekend. And how are you today?
Wow, I love your beads, btw, been to your site before... I would love to take any thing you wish to unload. Have you tried blowing glass? A neighbor does it, and it is amazing.
miyavi - if only you'd seen the one on one game between the two - then afterward the two with arms around each other singing " i love you, you love me..." i believe barney had only one eye by that time LOL
Sounds good, Sherb :) I'm fine thanks :)
Sorry... my keyboard went wonky for a mo'. Thanks! I'd love to see your work. Do you have a website? Actually I have taken a class on how to blow glass using soft glass and a tiny pyrex blowpipe. It's waaaay cool!
she made christmas ornaments and I traded a door pane with her (I live in the artsy part of Memphis, and bartering art is the prefered method of payment, LOL)
Ah yes. Bartering! LOVE it! When I did craft/art shows I traded quite a bit. got some wonderful stuff that way.
Temple, you're gonna give me nightmares
mtnjock .. email me (you'll find a link on my site). Let's see if I have anything you could use.
Jo, thanks for the sites. Your brother's work is great, very vivid and alive. Please let us know when you have the new site up and running, I want to see more! And as for diego rivera...wow! I am totally smitten by 'the architect', it's exactly how I feel when I'm drawing! :)
I always say I should make a site, but my work is mostly for friends and I usually don't sell it... So I just kinda feel weird about bragging (not the right word) about it.
But coosin, we are all friends here! And we would love to see your work :)
mtn... i know what you mean. i always end up feeling strange taking money too (not that i don't of course), just that i usually prefer to makes gifts of it.
I never realized everyone was so artistic
mtnjock you need to get over that! LOL. The first show I ever did (and my "work" was c4/6!) I almost turned around and went home. I got over it and went on to do lots of shows including a HUGE one in Denver and another in Longmont. Be proud of what you do! Show it off! It takes time, money, and lots of practice. I'll bet your work is great!
art comes in all forms miyavi
evan, I'm just the opposite. I love taking money for my work because it means I can keep doing it. OTH I hesitate to give it to friends/family because I figure "oh they wouldn't want THAT."
So even my random scribblings would be considered art? I doubt it!
Jo you are a genius it worked. But I think I tried the combo before but it did not work. Does this happen? For the stained glass fans, i used to own a company that made hand painted stained glass suncatchers. Made in America until everyone moved to China. There is a big real stained glass studio here in my little town in Iowa, Bovard Studios. They are amazing. Best to all, MF
sorry, miyavi... : )
Miyavi, any form of expression is art. Sometimes it's just for yourself, sometimes it's for the whole world :)
darleen - i'm getting there. mainly i work when commissioned now. miyavi - 1) probably, have you ever shown them to anyone 2) i have a feeling you express yourself in many ways.
miyavi ... art is all about communication. I don't consider my work art so much as it is craft.
68 today, right guys?
It's okay, Temple :) More trauma makes no impact now...not with some of the people at my school around
Right Hurshy :) And hi, by the way
Miy, art is a release of emotion, find something that you enjoy and express yourself through it. You are extremely intelligent... hmmmmm... you love music, find a combination of songs that create a mood of feeling from different artists. A good mix of music can change a person's feelings is just as good of an art as any.
hurshy you better hurry up or I'm gonna win today
hey, raolen, you're here!
actually, i finished already. took me under 15 mins. nice easy one.
yep, movin right along
hi miyavi!
hi sherb, hurshy - and to anyone i have missed...going to enjoy the 60 degree day - sure it's the last of this year...happy babbling!
Hi hurshy! :)
how many you got, kiddo?
hey hurshey (show off)
Intelligent?! Moi?! You're talking to the person who walked into the same locked door five times in one day :) It's strange you'd say about the music, though, since recently I've been letting a few Dir en Grey songs influence me and it's been working quite well
hi lola, hi temple! have you met raolen? he's one of my students, so be nice to him! :)
lol fine then
hey mtnjock - i have to preserve my rep in front of my student! :)
47
welcome, raolen...
bye Temple...enjoy your day :)
raolen, you want to come over and work on it here?
I just read about your drawings, make you a deal, you post one as your icon, and I will post one of mine as mine... lets say Monday (I have to find a pic tonight)
should i bring my laptop
*lola puts out hand to shake raolen's* Very pleased to meet you :)
lol hurshy, you are too funny... Hey raolen...welcome
if you want, that's fine, and then i can stay on the chat. :)
thanks, hello every1
k, should i go through the dorm or what
:O
well, I've amused myself by greying out all the boxes on the stats panel except the D in the middle...this puzzle really is simple...
yeah, there should be some kind of a difficulty rating posted for each puzzle - this would be a record low.
hi everyone! how do you grey out letters??
i think you have to be a Pro, tbug
Tbug, when you're pro there is a grid that as you finish a tile, it greys out to let u know its dun . :-)
sherb, must be easy if i finished it.
Good morning all! I'm so impressed with the speed of you babblers! I'm stuck at 60 words and need help please. I have 3 of 5 d words, de 4/9 (plural of morning...water), dr 5/12 (clothed) and dr 4/9 sketched. Can you help with the other two? Thanks!
ah thx hurshy... gonna have to break down and go pro one of these days *shivers at thought of writing a bio and choosing pics*
tbug, i'd be pro now if i could justify the expense.
oona, dw5/20, lived in :)
Tbug - go Pro, it's good to be able to read people's bios, and know where they're from, their interests etc :)
de 4 sandwich shop
i didnt know about the greying out thing... way overkill for this puzzle but would be great on most, gonna go pro now! woohoo!!
i can read them without pro, but feel kinda guilty w/o one of my own up :)
ah, I didn't realise you could read the bios...can you see the icons too?
yeah, we can
Thx Lola and Hurshy! six more to go...arghhhhh! :-)
hurshy - you should go Pro too, you're a regular :)
I'd go pro if I wasn't, er, already
yeah, but why pay the money? well, you guys are going to talk me into it sooner or later i guess. smeltz tried to persuade me the other day. even put up 5 virtual bucks.
Thing is, I'm an icon tart
hursy, it's cheap (one time only $9.94); Dr. God works his backside off keeping this going; you get the grid with wordcount, you can have an icon; it's the right thing to do?
oops $9.95-- finger slipped
all that bandwidth is not cheap, btw.
hurshy - where else can you get so much enjoyment for 10 dollars? think of it as an investment which will allow Babble to continue long into the future...
so this one's easy, yikes, I'm stuck at 49 words, how many letters in today's longest word?
hmm, guess i wasn't thinking. you guys are very persuasive.
there's nothing over 6 today
There are 4 six letters, petit
pv - there are 4 6-letter words...that's the longest!
There are 4 6 letter words.
Heellooooooooo :)
ANJ! Hello! You missed our enthralling art-conversation :-)
Going pro?? Do they take sterling???
hello Anj :) ...you're looking very fluttery today ;)
Credit card payment is taken in dollars.
Hey babe! Was wondering where you were :) (((xx)))
wooow, only got 3 of them so far... I'll keep going, thx
Hi Jo - art conversation?? Do tell :) Hi Sherb :) Thought I would brighten the place up a bit lol
Hey babe :) How are you doing??
Hey Anj :) Still ROCKING?!
Deeha - just pay by credit card, or debit card - it's about 6 pounds sterling ;)
Earlier I had a Diego Rivear icon (which Lola liked, great site huh, Lola?) Now, my icon is my brother's work. :-)
Hi Miy :) Yup, Queen Adreena at the moment...
*Rivera*
Jo, I LOVE his work
Good good...though please, someone stop me from saying that now...I'm even annoying myself
I'm a big fan of Rivera, so expressive. :-) *Though, I must admit ... I like your icon, VERY expressive as well*
Okay babe, and you? Jo, did you see my post then? Very impressed with both :)
voila.
LOL. Yeah. I'm such a, a, hmmm. Well. Let's just say I adore the male form and leave it at that.
I did, Lola. Maybe I'll manage to turn you into a Rivera fan? So much can be gained from Babble. LOL
back! Sorry about that, got lost in Darleen's blog (btw... big hug to you)
tres bien! and where's the bio?
give me some time!
is that Joe Darleen in your icon?
You got lost in my goofy meanderings? Hmmm.
Wooo, Hurshy has gone pro :)
Woo! hurshys all pro! *lola cracks champers and pours for everyone*
bwahahahahaha. I WISH. No it's Vin Diesel. DH is 64 and well, I love him despite his shape.
Yay! Nice Hurshy :)
Vin Disel .... *drooling*
hurshy's gone pro!!!!! But will she do chocolate icons? LOL I remember from the other day.
(bows) (to the inevitable, that is)
Jo, no need to convince me, his stuff is great :)
my name isn't because of hershey chocolate. however, maybe one day i will do a chocolate icon to make you happy.
Yeah, Vin is hot. Not very bright, but hot. HURSHY! YAY! Where's the bio, girl?
goofy my buttocks... I wish I was brave enough to blog... though I have to admit, my browser was having issues with the pics overlaying the text.
cheers lola! *sherb swigs champagne, and hands around homemade canapes to everyone...*
i have to THINK about what to put in my bio.
Giggle .. we don't care about what he has to say, dear.
I have to admit, even working out is an artform... LOL, one I am not good at...
Yeah, mtn I heard that from another pc user. Blame the software from radio whatever they are. I'll just not post so many pics next time. Shy? I figure no one's reading it so I just let fly.
my goodness, champagne and everything. nobody made this fuss when i graduated (high school OR college).
Lola, I think hurshy just dared us to throw a party on the boat for her!
there's a boat?
Coosin, what a great idea! Everyone on the love boat then! :)
do I need a boarding pass?
Gah, gotta go. Luck everyone :)
you've just been initiated into the hardcore Babbler's Club...
and you were very right about Bandwith, website hosting is not cheap!!! I was very proud to go pro, especially now after all the Hasbro bs.
Jo follows the party line to the boat, dragging Vin Diesel behind her....
darleen, just bring your icon ;)
'bye miyavi :)
Ok, I knew he'd come in handy ;-P
no DarleenMB, you're a pro, they never need a boarding pass, just a drink...
ROFLMAO at Jo...
kewl. I'm ready, life preserver and Vin in tow.
with those shoulders, you won't need a life preserver!
coosin, will you man the bar? Sherb, can you keep the nibbley bits coming? I haven't seen dachef yet today. Everyone jump in the on board jacuzzi and I'll rustle up some cabin boys :)
and we will be serving a mighty helping of Vin Diesel on the Ledo Deck after departing the docks...
yeah, but he's all muscle ... he won't float. That's takes body fat. Of course, I have plenty so ... tosses life preserver and clings to Vin
...I shall watch out for icebergs :)
(with flare),
Well Anj aren't you just the party poop.
*slides another tray of canapes into the oven to warm up, and dons bikini for the jacuzzi*
hi again all! :)
Er, first mate, you're gonna be a bit busy with other things ;)
hey, if anj didn't do it and we HIT an iceberg, that would be much more of a downer
But then I have no excuse to cling to Vin!
G'morning everyone -- this is the last day of chocolate making -- don't think I want to see another chocolate for a very long time! Only here for about 20 minutes.
Woo! Tbugs pro too! :)
Tbug, yea!! You've gone pro just in time for our party boat!! :-)
hey, Tbug went Pro too! more champage and canapes for our newest member :D
Fair enough :/ *points ship towards the equator and hits autohelm* *holds out glass* *smiles hopefully*
hmmm i wrote a short bio... dont see the little pink person icon
Wow! Where did all the vowels go?!
Woo Tbug - shouldn't that be a bass guitar???
how bout now
vowels? We don't need no sinkin' vowels!
all done :)
*lola pours champers for Anj* It's pink champagne today people! :)
did you click 'Show Profile'?
lol oh yes it should be anj...and it will be soon, i'm on my laptop, all my pics are on my pc.
woo hoo hurshy, i see you did it too!?
yup, i did. now everyone congratulate my little raolen on finishing!
Congratulations raolen!
and pass him the pink champagne! he's underage, but it's only virtual!
Woo! Well done raolen! Are you old enough for champers??
Way to go raolen! I'm only half way there...
wtg Raolen! *runs around living room with a sparkler*
congrats raolen! ...beware, this is addictive :)
LOL! Okay hurshy! *hands raolen glass of pink champers*
well not in the US
*quickly whips canapes out of the oven before they burn and hands them around...*
i usually take it easy on sunday mornings anyway tho
mmm, delicious sherb! can i have the recipe?
Oooh, thanks sherb, very tasty! :)
*Anj fulls the tub with a mix of custard and Oil of Ulay* Come and get yer active lipozomes while they're hot :)
so do i have to select an option somewhere to grey out letters as they're used up?
raolen - you'll soon find yourself hoping for a grid with 300 words in it...and they only appear on days when you have other things to do...
tbug, it's all done automagically
TBug, they should grey out automatically :)
...but you do have to find all the words first... ;)
...oooh, nice word. Like Darleen says... :D
150 words is my speed, but increasing steadily as many words start appearing often, have sure added some strange words to my vocabulary since starting this game!
no i wish I had a bigger one now, this was too short
...yuk yuk yuk ;)
shouldnt the 'z' be greyed out then??
*lola resists commenting on raolens last post*
ah, that's how Babble teases us all...finish too quickly, and you have to wait 24 hours for the next one...
Yes it is. Maybe you need to refresh the ol' browser?
*sherb leaps into the jacuzzi, causing a tidal wave of custard and oil of Ulay to spill over the floor* Oops!
wow, i left the game, came back still no grey, logged out and back in, still no grey.
sherb! *hands sherb mop*
tbug, i think they mean in the stats under "flip to stats", not in the puzzle itself
is yours grey hurshy?
hurshy - I'll clean it up in the morning, honest ;)
*blushes... slinks away to fish couch*
Gotta go -- the ladies are arriving!
Just got that magic message, "you have 0 words to find" I think this has been the easiest puzzle we have had, it has take me less than 90 minutes, and that was after I stopped for a cup of tea! We were on parade at the War Memorial this morning at 11am, it was very cold but no rain, thank goodness.
Hi exwren :)
custard and oil of Ulay jacuzzi........... kewl!!! *splut* ho hum, days with no babble and too much time to think are not good................
Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has heard from Sarah and Richard and how they are doing. I was thinking of them this morning for some reason.
no Babble? no Babble! I'm going cold just thinking of it...
sherb, the puzzles haven't been big enough lately. I keep finishing. Then I start thinking........... :'( ........ Doesn't help I play CDs like The Eels, Coldplay, .......
hey guys, just became a pro... hehe
Hi Babbler - are you going to join the Pro revolution??? :)
*goes all coy* might do.......... might not......... depends, dunnit?! :)
I do like the challenge of being in the dark with a fresh puzzle. If you go pro, how much info is infront of you?
As much as you want. You can display the stats or the words but not both at the same time :)
Babbler - come on, just do it! you can choose to see a stats panel showing how many words start with each letter, or you can leave it hidden pv - your icon and profile aren't showing...did you click 'Show Profile'?
babbler, you don't have to go pro to get info anyway. i was using the babbler's anon list all along.
omg!!!!!!! I've finishe dmy first babble grid yay!
yay gem gem, today was my second
the bandwidth and the poor hardworking organizer of the site were what persuaded me.
woo! well done gem :D
ack....... peer pressure........... *runs behind bike shed for a swift cigarette*.......
Congrats Gem Gem!
gear down there babbler
that's true, I don't mind the idea of contributing to Jamie's rent. He's doing good after all............. :)
babbler, i didn't think I'd ever go pro... till today :) *prods babbler with a big stick*
I no!!!!!! Thanks!
Yaay! Congrats Gem :) Well done :D
oh yeah!!! I nearly didn't recognise you there, Tbug!! :D
I'm happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Babbler - it's not the stats that count, it's the profile and the icon...we give away something about ourselves...
Hi sweetie, dahling! Just do it! I'll give you some of my pink champers if you do :) Woo! well done gem :)
Lola! Do i get pink champers lol
well done, gem gem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Babbler of Babble cordially invites you to jump in the jacuzzi of custard and oil of Ulay, with a complimentary glass of champers. RSVP :D
sherb.......... lola............ I suppose............ hmmmmmmm :)
Of course you do gem! It has been established that virtual champers is fine for underage drinkers :) *hands gem glass of pink champers*
*and hands gem the last of the canapes*
ok, here's a question..... if I had an icon, what do you imagine would suit me?
lol every1's being nice to me*And giving me drink* :D
Well babs, a pic of the boots would be a good start :)
well, you seem to be stubborn as a mule...
well, that's a puzzler... something very Babblicious?
*chokes on tea*!! that's a good'un, Lola! :)
jk babbler :)
Tbug, I'm a scorpio, whaddya expect! lol!
thanks sherb
I'm a scorpio too...see, you've got to join!
Woot! I'm done :D *dives headfirst into jacuzzi*
So when is your birthday then babs??
Yay! Well done babe :)
bravo Anj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( I don't get to say that too often as you've usually finished by the time I get here) !! (I finished this morning by the way :D )
would someone please put me out of my misery I am left with one Tu4 - and it isnt the rude one!! If you could give mew a clue I can go and cook the old man his dinner!!! (Until then he gets NOTHING!!!)
oh....... oops, ..... cat out of bag....... my birthday was the other week........ Anj might remember...... I was very sad..... : (
*moves aside to make room for Anj...and wipes custard/Oil of Ulay out of eyes...*
Thankyou *takes bow* Babbler, you are prevaricating dear. Go Pro! Go Pro! Go Pro!
Deeha, your husband might have a giddy tu** if you don't make his dinner. Or he might tu** around and make some for himself and leave you sitting at your pc..... :D
Deeha - you're gonna hate yourself...think of a song 'for every season, tu4, tu4, tu4...' :)
deeha- tu** around bright eyes?
deeha-u need to use your blinker when you make one
...all the more reason to Pro it Babs :) Call it retail comfort :D Go on, go on, you know it makes sense ;)
* or something like that...*
You are right Sherb I hate myself!! Finished - wilco over and out!!!!At least my husband eats tonight
Happy birthday for last week babs :)
P.S. love all the other clues
thanks Lola luvvie! It was during the time I was away, I think it was the week before *tries to forget the whole thing* :/
Anj, have you got the Gorillaz album?
hi everyone--the dw5 is completely stumping me...any clues?
forget it...i got it!
sassie - somewhere where someone used to live.......
sassie- another word for lived in :)
Babbler, no I don't - are they both any good? I've liked their singles but i've always regarded Albarn as 'The Enemy' figurehead since NME championed him as anti-rock. Then again NME champion EVERYTHING that doesn't rock so maybe I should lighten up a bit lol :)
Anj, it's very creative and clever!!! Someone burnt it for me, but I think I'm just going to go and buy it. There's a track, very Beach Boys, 'Don't Get Lost In Heaven', that's uses the guitar from Jeff Beck's 'Beck's Bolero'. Sooo fab! I love Damon Albarn's voice. He's a good bloke too. (NOT the enemy!). NME went down the pan in the early 90s, imho....
Hey babe, have you got babs onto last yet??
what's last ?? a band?
babs, go check out the 'music while you babble' thread that Anj set up in babblers anon :)
*jumps to it*............. :D
*oh, pauses Neil Young first*............
Babs, www.lastfm.com Streamable digital radio site that also builds a profile based on your listening tastes. You tell it what you want to hear. It's a DIY radio :) See the Music While You babble thread under Other Interests on BabsAnon :D
...and it's all free lol :)
lol, we should have told her she had to go pro before she could get onto last :)
....... do I want other people to listen to what I'm listening to.....??? is that good or does it leave my PC vulnerable?
...sneaky :) Right, i've got to go eat before I run out of calories :D BBL babe
Later babe :) xxx
Babbler, they don't listen to 'you', they listen to a radio profile based on your own listening tastes is all. No-one can access your PC directly, it doesn't work that way. Check out my homepage if you want to see the site in action. The link is on that thread :)
Done! Gotta go watch the pregame and football (American). New England Patriots V. Miami Dolphins. Go Pats!!!!
Hmm, it would appear that the stack of ironing that I've been avoiding all day has not miraculously disappeared :/ Back later :)
Anj, I'm loading up the last.fm stuff right now. It's good?
ok every1 hurshy and Iare signing out. we're gonna play some real boggle(she kills me)
did it, oof, damn funny words some of them... what the f*** is an elhi?
petit, please don't post words in the chat log, it kind of spoils the fun of finding them for everybody. I'm sure you already know all that, just a gentle reminder anyway. :)
ouch! so sorry, felt I was the last one in... won't happen again
no worries, petit! There are still hours and hours to go, you never know, there might be a poor soul out there who hasn't had a chance to sit down with today's puzzle yet! :D
sure, guess I was too excited at having made it, if this is the easiest it's got for you guys, I can't imagine what the hard ones are like! wouldn't have made it without the babblers anonymous stuff tho, must say
If you scroll up to this morning, you'll find someone called Tuva completed in 14 minutes!! the chat log went quiet for a while after he announced this...... personally I was a bit envious!! :)
I've got 2 left; and I think I'm blind. What two LE's am I missing? I've got the "he le** the tall building in a single bound" & the dirty old man one. hints for the last two?
jo, creepy old man has L*** in his heart, but often thinks Le** thoughts
one goes hand in hand with the dirty old man
eva ... LOL
the dirty old man has le** thoughts, and he really ought to stop, le** he go blind..... :)
dirty old man is not a le**, le** he has a le** mind.
if only i could have fit the other le in, it would have been perfect.
First: ROFLMAO Second: TY, all. HOW did I miss those so badly!!??
you need the fish? hasn't been out in a while.
thank God for Merriam Webster online, I now know the meaning of that odd word... American English?
hmm. fish?
Hi all - well a 'titchy' puzzle today then! Is it too much to ask for a bigger one with a nice even distribution of vowels & s's that are accessible? Ok rant over - have been to church twice today & my halo is already slipping!
yes, the fish. i'm not fond of the fish myself.
I have visions of being beaten with the fish, it seems painful. Am I on the right track?
snowy, oh good. can i have credit for your second attendance?
indeed you are jo, it's a rather violent tradition.
could start you out easy though, perhaps a nice small crappie.
I'll share evanadine! I'm a girl scout! Well the Uk equivalent any way! Had our Remembrance service this afternoon - I am still trying to warm up! Theres a limit to how many layers you can put under a uniform!
Hi hi! I'm back. I've been properly industrious, now I can type. How's this group doing? I already chatted with the group 4 hours ago.
oy, gotcha on that one snowy. had my father in laws retirement party last night. took my flannel sheets forever to warm me up!
Oh my, the caffeine really kicked in...sorry--I'm on a real energy surge right now...;-)
Hi Artlady - good to see you
hey art lady. everyone is setting speed records and making me look like the amature that i am.
Sorry, evan. I finished too--just have to type it in. It's a wee baby.
eva, as we all know, sometimes being too quick is not a good thing
Oh wise ones...does anyone know what the el4/5 MEANS? I can't find a definition. I enjoy collecting new words...
lol mtnjock - right you are. better somethings can be savored - however, it took me one hour to savor this puzzle.
Hey mtn, you're still here?
el + greeting (stolen from earlier hint)
artlady click on the "?" mark by the word for the definition
Artlady it says - of or relating to, involving or designed for use in grades 1-12!!!!!
evanonut, no need to go easy ;-)
yeppers, stuck on the dr5
artlady, did you click on the question mark for the def?

eeeuuuww, evan! Not a slimy one. Please pass only fresh fish... ;-)
Ok, now what do I do all day? I really must object to Dr. G about mini puzzles on weekends!
Hey mtn, is that your dog? cute.
i like short puzzles, i get to have a life!
thats Beau! he's a dear... used him to give a clue on thursday even.. LOL he gives the clues to the big words, he babbles better than I.
What?? There's a life outside Babble? You heretic! lol
congrats Artlady I left myself 8 to do when I got bak but am making no effort to find them for the very same reason! Might even have to watch television tonight. I haven't done that for ages!
blasphamy, I say!
onyx - any life you are having outside babble is an illusion! LOL
Oh snowy, you do have my sympathy...I may have to vacuum...or iron...or do dishes... all of which are far less enjoyable. sigh.
Oh Artlady I gave up all those in September when real life in babble land started!!!!!
little lost myself...what do i do when the puzzle is done. gues i'll go shopping.
lol, snowy. Why September? That's right when I started, myself.
i know, but it can be such a beautiful illusion some times..... house work? whats that? my dust buffalos are toys for the kitties
There is only Babble and Football ....
I think I did too Artlady but I find it very hard to remember when there wasn't babble! LOL Perhaps my daughter is right and I am getting to be a sad old lady!!!!! But I don't care!
Jo, yes to the football too. The Bears are on now and it's really windy here. Playing havoc with the kickers!
got three to go shall i wait till later? i should go read a book?
Snowy, somehow I strongly doubt the "sad old lady" part!
Oh, come on onyx. Go for it!
Jo, are we related? (JK) My aunt Jo is a rabid Packers fan.
Hey all, see what I meant about my caffeine?? I'll be quiet now....I promise.......
twist a little harder... the e word is an acronym, art lady would know and i should have
No I'm not really! You and I are the same age & i'ts not old at all!
Oh, poor aunt. They are having a bummer season. 1 win, and the Falcons are getting ready to slaughter then today!! I LOVE football!!
Yes, Jo, it's really sad. (snicker snicker) She's always sending me email jokes about how bad the Vikings are and Bears are...previous seasons.
no one is having as bad a season as the poor niners, i don't watch any more, too sad
pe 5/12, anyone help!
Snowy, if you trot out that "old lady" cr 4/5, I'll have to send a fish your way. I refuse to use the "o" word! (at least, THAT one..)
Hymn mtnjock - For those in pe*** on the sea - another word for danger
Mtn, when you are practicing your bartending your toes are in pe5/12...
LOL Artlady - I know you're only as old as you feel - but some days thats 102! Then others it's about 6!
I have officially disowned the Lions. I rennounce my childhood .... Lions be shamed. :-( Now, I can claim the Falcons as my own. LOL
thank you everyone, that was my last word!
congrat mtnjock!!!!!
Well, Jo, I grew up in Packerland. My aunt (not Jo, but Jinx), once danced with Fuzzy Thurston at the Left Guard in Green Bay, (that's a LONG time ago!). I am close to being disowned by my family for my treason...Go Bears!
congrats, mtn!
bows humbly to the puzzle, and to the babblers... I was griping earlier about the length of the puzzle, but work has been hectic, so I am glad to finish.

Hey, I'm back... let's party!
hi Dachef :) we missed you earlier...I had to whip up a few canapes to go with the champagne... hey Mama...did anyone notice a rustling noise in church today? ...those grass skirts can be noisy, lol :D
Hi Jera! Why do we always get these baby grids on the weekend, and then on Monday, when we have to work we get 500 plus!!!!

hi Jera :) Dachef - my sentiments exactly!
i need only 1 more word, one of the we's (not the direction) I am going insane

aknitter - have you got the archaic form of 'was'?
was what ??????
aknitter - which one do you need (for there are many)?
one of the last 2 we's
aknitter - we4 - the archaic form of was. Chaucer used it a lot! "It we** a very hard word to find, sayeth the Wife of Bath"!
aknitter - think of a film 'The Way We We**' and change the last letter ;)
okay, Dachef, so your clue is just slightly more erudite than mine...lol (and I studied the Wife of Bath for A level) :)

i love to knit

68 although I am not convinced they are ALL real words
Yvo - there are 68 words
Thank you kindly
i am one of those weird-os that must complete what they are working on before starting another
If my name wasn't mamabear, it could be acrocheter!
the laundry is calling .... eagerly awaiting tomorrows puzzle
I aspire to be that disciplined...I have a wardrobe full of beautiful yarn and half-finished projects. I now knit mostly for my two young godchildren...at least the smaller sizes are easier :)

somebody gave the following clue for that weird e word: el + greetings
Kpnuts its abbre - education word, but i hope this helps, think of Indian city but omit the first letter ( this would be the first two letters - followed by two more letters the slang word for hello - opposite of lower.
Sherry's clue so much better - sorry i was rambling. will say goodnight to all of you, have a good day tomorrow.
Goodnight!
Thanks folks. I thought I had tried every combination... and goodnight from Newmarket :-))
Goodnight kpnuts and elder
ok I have an sw5 but cannot find the other! HELP!
12 words to go...and I don't seem to be going anywhere...can someone tip me: is there a word with the M in the second row?
granadan i have the floor one but not the other tell me what its value is.....

thx granadan....I thought you said sw5...
Need some help again. There are 5 words for the 't' on the bottom. I got the three 4 letter words but cannot find the last two 5 letter words. Thanks
marc - only one t5 at the bottom....if you have the t4/8, add a consonant after the t
one of yr t4s can be plural
MF-try close-fitting trousers, usually of tartan
hey everyone... i'm a new babbler, introduced to the site by hurshy. just wanted to introduce myself!
Hi tegrenath...where are you/
hi tegrenath!
Two of my t'4s are already plural and the third one has no possiblity of being plural as I passed that exam. sorry don't understand the tight trousers comment I must be too old.
Hi tegrenath! Rookie greeting rookie!
marc did you read my clue?
we tend to use this word for all trousers in a kinda slang way 'Where are my tr5/18' ends in s
Marc, if you google the clue "Close-fitting trousers, usually of tartan" it will give you your answer. Don't forget your quotations.
PoosMom..how are you? Only got 14 to go but after a FUN weekend don't think I have the energy....
i'm in the states, i'm a student at the school where hurshy teaches in connecticut.
that's a new word for me tbear! LOL
Poo, did that before with not effect. Added constanant to the t4/8 and none of them worked. I thought the letter that ended would be the sames and the first but that didn't work. Any other hints?
I'm good tbear! i am done now.... studied the puzzle very carefully while doing laundry!
tegrenath, u must have a great math teacher
oh, she's amazing. you wish you had her for a teacher.
marc you have the t4/8? go up to left for your consonant...
ya, mine hates me
she won't help me study
I am missing a cu5: I have cu5/16 that goes with whey, cu5/14 - referring to hair, and the cu5/14 - bad words. What am missing. It is my last word.
Marc, Poo's Mom is right: just take your t4/8 and insert a consonnant after the t.
Peri-plural of your cu 4/7?
i believe she's waiting for you to come over right now. maybe you jst don't want to study.
Never mind! I see you have that. Long weeknd. Brain not wanting to function anymore.
jc - I already have that one
Sorry guys put the contanant in the wrong place. Now down to my last two 5 letter 'd'. I'll be back if I need help. Best
peri try the cu 5 ~bad words take off the last vowel and add a consonant
hmmm, could be.
found the last cu5 by myself. thanks oceania. saw your clue right after I found it. Done!

Lucky Periwinkle. Congrat'! I got 6 more to go.

OK I'm back any clues on the two d/5s I added constanants to the 3 d/4s but that didn't work.
i've actually got some reading to do for tues
i could come by for a bit
Marc dW5/20 "did live there"
marc the other one sounds like putting on your clothes...but spelled different

Marc you need to become a pro...somewhere on the page you'll be offered that....doesn't cost much and is fun....also helps support the site

tired, think ill take a nap
I did become a pro but I cannot find it on the page, any hints
hey raolen, you still there?
i am so utterly disappointed in you. and we miss you too.
you should come do your calc with hurshy and then you might actually be able to go to bed at a normal time.
and mitten wants to see you. quite badly.
lol fine
in that case go to 'myprofile' top of the page and then press 'icon' and then download a pic of your choice
but only for mitten

Is there any word with the L in the second row?
lianakate...hiya...take the c off your cu5/16
Liana, Take the first letter off of what Little Miss Muffett ate.
Lianakate: someone suggested to think about some iraki/turkish ethnic word and remove the first consonnant.

ugh, ch 6/24 is killing me. i tried to logic is out and now i can't even monkey it. any clues?
tegrenath: someone using bad words
sorry! got the wrong one!
lianakate...might be the one that I think is the part of a sword or dagger where the handle joins the blade hi4/5
its a word that sounds like a small person..without the D on the end..and can be pluralized too
would be more like the Red Hots..
For the 'u' think of shortening another word for bird poops. Regarding the 'h' old english for since
Evening all. ch6/24 - more than one pepper, sounds kinda cold, like several of Hendrix's voodoo offspring.
small hot pods...different spelling ch6/24
omg..i got the big version of that word Tbear..and neglected to put the root down..YAY..ty sooooooooo much..I finished a puzzle!
Yeah, I wasn't familiar with this spelling of the Ch word before

clues for cu 6/24 my last word.
Become a pro and you will get all that info. It is worth it not expensive and again helps the site. If you need any other hints just ask.
Someone who swears
nuke: someone using bad words
You're right Marc! I was sort of contemplating that..
that word came up as cu 6/27. I need cu 6/24
the one who gets the bad word in the face is cu6/24 the one speaking the word is the one you're looking for
it's been over an hour. i feel like the biggest idiot ever.
Try the thing you move the mouse with on your computer. Does that explain it? By the way cu/27 is pass tense cu/24 is present tense
Got it, Banging head against brick wall....lol. Sherry you could go to babblers annonymous and look under general for todays stats.

Jacula, watching Wizard of Oz - and just finished Dr. Seuss' Grinch, too! Went to the beach today and watched my companions freeze their little piggies off in the cold water. Everyone had a great time. Now we're exhausted and just waiting to fall asleep.
Not too exhausted to Babble though, eh, Charm?:-)

yyyiiipppeeee yyyeeeaahhh i won the prize i finished for the first time ever. i feel so accomplished and smart, even though it took me forever. i deserve a hershey bar
Jacula chucks a Hershey bar to NotYou. (Yes, we can get them in the UK now, though I've never sampled one.)
Well done, Evanadine!
ok, i studied in london in college and fell in love with yorkie bars.... still crave them. but can't figure out the whole "not for girls" slogan... help me on that one, can you?
el4/5 - a tried and tested Babblegrid word. Refers to US schools but sounds more like a tribe from Star Trek or Stargate, or even the Middle Earth.
Jac, I am a process drafter working in a manufacturing plant. I also consider myself a professional, so the pro could be either professional or process...you pick. Thanks for asking
NotYou - The original marketing for Yorkie bars was that they were for big, hairy truckers. Some years later, the 'not for girls' campaign was launched and then a pink-wrapped Yorkie bar 'Not For Girls - Who Sez So?' was launched alongside the original blue-wrapped ones. My SO, who happens to be a 'big, hairy trucker' still jokes that any Yorkie bars in the house 'must' be HIS!
Thanks for explaining your 'nick' Prodrafter. Saves my imagination running wild. LOL.
now i can rest in peace!!!! I love it. Whenever my parishioners travel your way, I beg for yorkies... my husband ate one from the freezer from my stash and i threatened divorce, he thought i was kidding!
LOL, NotYou! Incidentally, what made you choose your 'nick'?
don't know, never thought i would actually get addicted to the game and was playing around with names... might change it now that i am a regular and oh so very serious...
Why, NotYou? The name's intriguing. I'd keep it, if I were you.
thank god, i finished. ALMOST TWO HOURS. ugh.
Tegrenath. Congrats! If a little late. Your 'nick' interests me, too... it means??
who knows... i did just add the pic of my little girl... i have to say this is the coolest game to play,i've started a whole new vocabulary and have my 6 year old son playing with me... good night all! gotta sleep so i can do my early christmas shopping tomorrow...
Sleep well, NotYou. I'm about a dozen Christmas presents ahead of you. LOL.
aw, thanks. actually though, my name doesn't mean anything. it's 100% made up and i've been using it for years.
Thought it might be an anagram of 'The Great N' or something. LOL.
Hi guys -- 2 days and 25 pounds of chocolates later, the 5 grannies chocolatiers are done! Now back to babbble -- got 58 words in the 20 minutes I had this am, so hope to finish soon!
Finally :)
Make use of me for clues whilst I'm here then, Cybernan!
Thanks Jacula ... dw 5/20? el 4/5
Got the dw!
I gave a clue for el4/5 not long ago Cybernan. Didn't it help?
dw 5/20 if you used to live somewhere, you could say you dw*** there. Rhymes with w 4/8.
and the elhi -- we've seen that one before, I believe.
(Scroll back to 7:44pm.)
EEK! Cybernan just posted a word!
My apologies everyone -- not thinking too clearly!!!! It's been a looooong day. Have a bite of chocolate on me. Finished -- now I can go and relax until 10 pm.
i left my last l word to find this evening and it just jumped out at me i'm done, and i want more puzzle!
LOL, we've all done it at one time or another, Cybernan. Enjoy your evening.
Onyx - Want more puzzle! That's exactly what me and my 'Other Half' said this morning here in UK.
Incidentally, Onyx, what was your last word? No, don't tell me the word just the first 2 letters and the score.
le 4/5
I usually find my last word is something really obscure or spelled in a way I wouldn't have thought of, or it's so simple I should have SEEN it.
Onyx - Ah! Like the cat being sneaky but rather the opposite.
it was one of those so simple i can't believe i didn't see it before words
Though it doesn't really mean that.
Onyx - my last word was tu4/5!
It's not as snakelike in its twisting itelf around the grid as 'journalists' etc., was yesterday, but still not immediately obvious.
le 4/5: jumped (as in ballet?)
that's what intrigues me about the game, if you shift your focus you see things that weren't there a moment before,
hi everyone - need a clue for the pe 5/12
danger
pe5/12 - Old hymn - 'For Those In Pe*** On The Sea'.
thanks onyx - finished the grid!
pe 5/12: "The Pe.... of Pauline" -- make it singular
Onyx - Yes, indeed, re the patently obvious words and not. That's why I talk about how many words on my first 'sweep' of the grid when I arrive, and then I 'sweep' at least 5 times more before resorting to message log clues and then BJ's list, and then a2z if I must.
hey saphyre, where in Md. are you? i went to U of M, my friend annette( are you out there?) showed me the game.
Jac, and what's obvious to me is different from what's obvious to others, so it is fun to babble with others
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHH!!! I have ONE c/ word to go and my brain is MUSH! PLEASE HELP so I can have a life! :-) I have: ce 4/5, ch 5/14, ch 6/24, cr 5/14, cr 5/12, cr 4/9, cr 5/20, cu 4/7, cu 5/16, cu 4/6, cu 5/14, cu4/6, cu 4/6, cu 5/14, cu 6/27, cu 5/14, cu 4/6 and cu 4/6.........what am I missing??? (I've monkey-typed till my fingers are blue...but alas, nothing is working). All clues will be rewarded with chocolates! :-)
I'm having trouble with one of the we4/8's--i've got the direction and the person, but I can't get the 3rd one. And, I could use a clue for the cu5/14 that is not bad word, shirley temple or soy.
cu6/24 - one who performs the cu5/14 (or the moving pointing thingy on your screen - misspelt).
The last cu5/14 - past tense of the bad word - an archaic form. "a cu5/14 rum touch."
we4/8 - "A ridge or bump on the skin caused by a lash or blow or sometimes by an allergic reaction."
talk about tired--I didn't type the we because I was sure I had it already...yikes! OK--I am on my last one and I am going to try for a few more minutes to get it before I beg for a clue. thx charm!
A whole BOX of chocolates to Charm!!! No more words for meeeeeee!!!!!! YEAH <<dances around the room giddily then straightens up and hands over the chocolates>>> THANKS!!! :-)
Everyone clued up enough for now?
y/w. y/w. =8-)
Congrats to Oona.
my first complete puzzle--thanks for the assistance! You guys are so supportive!
need help..cant seem to find the second cu5/14..that would be my last word though..
I have 3 cu 5/14's - two are closely related, one being an old english past tense type deal and the third is a plural of a cu 4/6.
help on cu 6/24 pleeeeeeease
Shorty - your clue is: The person who did cu 6/27.
how many words are there, I am just starting.
oh DUH ty
Hello?
68 words
Thank you!
yw
A good evening to all Just checking in to see who's around :)
Not me.
hi grey woulf
Hi shorty and torgone -- you folks done? I finished this one earlier
i have 6 more to go
This one went by too fast for me. I'm dying for the next 'fix'.
8 left - Trying to do this one without clues.
Hi! I'm here. Was just off eastoftheweb, playing other word games.
I'm here if you need me, shorty...
Torgone - what do you need?
Heye Jacula! Ravishing as always ...
Hi, Jacula! how have you been?
Jacula - what other good word games are out there?
itzie - I agree, the board went by way too quickly today, however, that meant I was able to get some other things done today without worrying about cutting into my Babble time (I am such an addict!!!)
i need pe5/12,te4/5,te4/4 & te4/8 please
Woulf & Torgone - actually watched the Elvira - Mistress of The Dark movie for 1st time on Friday night. Used to see her in a C4 show years ago and loved the character, kinda Rock Horror, but more personal to me.
is that who I think it is?
Itzie - lots, like 'Wordo', but noe so good as Babble! Babble's the best.
shorty - pe5/12 -- to be in grave pe***
te 4/4 rhymes with re 4/4
Smeltzdog! How's the jacuzzi? Is it open yet?
te 4/8 rhymes with pe 4/9
Shorty - sorrry, will look at your clues momentarily. Every time your name comes up, forgive me, I think I have said it before, Rod Stewart & The Faces' track 'Cut Across Shorty' blasts into my brain. Great track, BTW!
te4/5 - plural of a man's nickname
Hi, harpjane!
hello, again, all. been fading in & out this evening....
itzie- try Quiddler. Google "Quiddler Daily Puzzle" to find it. There's a word game and a couple of logic games. They change daily. Much shorter than Babble, though.
I heart logic problems.
I also enjoy the Geography Olympics. www/geographyzone.com
Jac - I have to admit I have only seen bits of the Elvira movie -- But I do love the character -- I love any actor who is willing to play a campy character properly -- i.e. over the top and without taking themselves too seriously
ty veeeeeeeeery much got all but dont understand pe 5/12
hey, smeltz is here! lookie who went "pro", smeltzie! hi GW, jacula, harpjane, everyone!
fading in and out, Charm? everything OK or just easily distracted due to the simplicity of todays grid?
Greywoulf - you should see my pics on another site then. I can't be 'camp' as such, 'cos I'm female, but one pic of me in a cavalier wig did make someone who knows me plead for me to remove it from my site 'cos it makes you look like a tranny!' LOL.
shorty -- pe5 is another word for danger Hurshy -- Congrats on going pro!!! Though I think the ears a bit much :D
GW - definitely the latter! Watching bad tv, playing solitaire & lurking behind the chat log. How good can life get????
Hey everybody. How is everyone tonight?
hey, i can't help my ears.
Charm - you could be watching GOOD TV!
Hello Hurshy/Spock. Are you feeling logical right now? LOL.
Welcome, ohrom -- how are you tonight? I'm OK...
i generally do feel logical. however, as leonard nimoy also had to say..."i am not spock". it's merely an homage.
Hurshy - forget what I just typed. You teach maths, therefore you must be logical at all times.
GW - no such creature, at least at this time on a Sun p.m. If I want good tv, I watch Casablanca or Lion in Winter or Scarlet Pimpernel on dvd.
has anybody seen joelgee lately?
Hurshy -- yeah, but then he turned around and wrote another bio years later stating "I AM Spock"
ok, so i am spock.
I am good, GW. I just got back from a date. I like your new icon. You look as ferocious as ever. : )
actually, i did dress up as spock one halloween when i was a kid. i had bought some spock ears at a convention i went to, so...
That is not logical, Hurshy, there can only be one true Spock.:-)
we all have a little spock in us. :)
here-here, hurshy!
hey charm! a fellow fan, i take it?
live long & prosper.
that is what i used to make my mom put on my birthday cakes instead of happy birthday!
Thanks harpjane! I just increased my state's standing by .007%!!! Whee!
Ohrom - is this your first time on the grid then?
Hurshy - As a fan of ST as well, I have to ask - Are you a Trekkie or a Trekker?
hurshy - I was never that much of a fan (and my mother would not have done it). But my younger sister & I used to play the characters (when we were around 8 and 5). I hate to think what a geek I was, even then!
GW, well, i'm not so offended by the trekkie label as some.
'We all have a little Spock in us' - that statement would sure makes his ears wiggle. LOL. 'Live long and prosper' - nothing nicer can be said, it's the logical thing to say.
Never regret your geekhood, Charm -- It just proves that you were ahead of your time :)
ohh got it ty ty but now i have to figure which one i need i still need one more i thought i had them all aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggg gggggggghhhhhhhhhhh
hi everyone!
HI MissJen!
GW: I finished the puzzle at about 1:00 PM today. I got up at noon and did the grid with a cup of coffee and a knish. It was a good time. I can't think of a better way to start a day. How about you: did you finish it?
jacula - i guess it's like when kirk told him, "spock, you want to know something? everybody's human" (my senior year quote for the yearbook, btw), and spock said, "i find that remark....insulting."
Nothing wrong with being either a Trekkie or a Trekker. Different forms of worship, but both perfectly acceptable.
Jac is now wondering if she's somehow insulted Hurshey...
i guess i never really figured out what differentiates a trekkie from a trekker - i mean, it seems like more "serious" fans don't like the former label, but i am pretty serious and don't mind it. i do not, however, like any behind the scenes stuff. i like to maintain the illusion that it is all real! :)
ohrom - Yeah, I did my usual watch the grid flip this AM and ended up finishing in about the same time frame as you -- I was probably one the 1st 5 to finish out of the folks active on the chat log :)
of course not jac!
You mean to suggest tribbles don't exist?
I'm back...having problems seeing my blog in firefox. It only loads in Explorer. Has anyone else had problems with Firefox?
Of course it's real! A probe's just gone out to my own plant, Venus. Hopefully, the Venusians, won't either shoot it down befor it lands or throw a sheet over it once it does, like the little green men on Mars did.
THat is cool GW. You are a testament to furry growling carnivorous babblers everywhere. : ) How are the cats/wife/kid tonight? I hope all is well in your neck-of-the-woods tonight.
trouble with tribbles is my dad's favorite. you know, when i was in school i would sit in the yearbook office and read star trek books during my free periods. and when i would go out in the hall afterwards, i would look around and think, "why aren't these people in uniform?!?! what's happened to the ship?"
The trouble with Tribbles is that they bounce all over the place.
The way it was explained to me, waaay back in my college days --- Trekker - sees Leonard Nimoy at a convention and will approach him, if convenient, and talk to him in praise of his work Trekkie - sees Leonard Nimoy across a crowded public area (I.e. hotel lobby) and starts shouting "SPOCK!!!" at the top of his lungs ;D
Hi Smeltz. Is the cuzzi open?
1 more pe 4/5 between pe 5/16 & pe 5/12
The ship became a mother ship, which in turn became just "Mother" (in Alien). It's just been down hill since....
hmm... then maybe i'm somewhere in between. but i guess i'd probably be too tongue-tied to say anything at all!
Greywoulf - You've pinned the Trekker/Trekkie thing down in the most spot on way I've ever seen it pinned.
need help 2 more p and 1 more r pe4/7 pe4/6 pe5/16 pe 5/12 pe4/5 pe4/5 pe4/9 re 4/5 re4/4 ri5/12 ru4/5 ri5/10
the PE5/12 minus the final consonant.
shorty - take the pe5/12 and lose the last letter
did you hear about the journalist who brought her mom (a big fan) along when she interviewed william shatner? he kissed the mom at the end of the meal and left. the daughter said, "so, what do you think? did you feel like you had lunch with shatner or kirk?" and the mom said, "i had lunch with william shatner. but i was kissed by captain kirk!"
Smeltz - I wondered what happened to you... I only use Firefox and have not had any probs
LOL Hurshy. Shame about Will Shatner's UK ads. Ruined the image!
YEAH ty ty ty ty i am done 2nd puzzle ever finished ty ALL who helped i luv u guys ur the best
LOL hurshy!
Jacula - what ads?
shatner has done way more than that - we just ignore it. after all, he's really not kirk.
Good job, Jackets. It is a nice feeling isn't it.
YEAH ty ty ty ty i am done 2nd puzzle ever finished ty ALL who helped i luv u guys ur the best
Yay jackets! Me too. Nice little puzzle perfect for winding down from a tough day.
orthopox - is that a list of what you have?
in elementary school, i also used to hope that i had been placed here in order to study this time period from within, you know, naturally, by being brought up here, but that the enterprise was going to come back and pick me up any day! :)
sorry, yes
Congrats jackets and torgone!
hurshy, why are you not writing a novel?
then, orthopox, drop the final letter on your ri5s and you have the ri4/4 you are missing
sorry to all the non-fans for so much trek chat. i've probably convinced you that i'm insane by now. :) charm - you mean a trek novel? or the story of my weird childhood fantasies?
grey, thanks - how did I miss that? 1 more p
Hurshy - maybe a combination of the 2?
hurshy - either would work ;)
orthopox - an animal skin/fur
grey - thx - all done
Does anyone have any clues for n?
my dad always said i should. but i would hate to write something that didn't live up to the greatness that is trek.
Congrats orthopox!!
YEAH ty ty ty ty i am done 2nd puzzle ever finished ty ALL who helped
hilaryfan, no n words today. :)
No 'n's. Hurshy, uh, the greatness that is .....???? I think you need to be beamed up soon! lol
hilaryfan - No. (no n words) (You're a fan of Sir Edmund Hilary too?!?!?! Cool!!!)
i did not think so
hurshy -- that is practically impossible -- I haven't read many of the novels, but from what I have seen, the quality ranges from phenomenal to 'what is this drek'
torgone - you're near the quicksand...
YAY, shorty!!!
YEAH IM so excited woo hoo
yeah, GW, some are not that good - however, as Jesus would say, "such things must happen, but woe to the man who makes them happen" (or something like that)
hursh - I'm not touching that one --- we went a little heavy on the religion yesterday and a couple of non regulars yelled at us :D
togone- i don't even know who you are talkink about, I alike Hilary Duff, I'm 11!
That's where I live, hurshy.
i put an a in front of like, sorry
it's just an apt quote! i don't want to be the one that writes a bad trek novel. i just wanted to say it fancier.
torgone, hilaryfan's response gives me chills!
anyoen have a "u" clue?
...and torgone is in. who has a rope? a strong vine?
u clue--drop off the T off of a 5 t and you get u
However, another point ot consider is that even the ST writers have no real clue what the continuity of the universe is anymore :D
That was-I say, that was a joke, son! I made a funny boy. Why ain't ya laughin??
U-clue - the TU5/14 minus the 't'.
oh i'm laughing, torgone, i'm laughing
Charm - 'ads' are advertisements.
LOL jacula!!!!!
Jacula-was wondering of what ads you were speaking! I'm not enough of a fan to follow people's foibles (I have enough trouble keeping track of mine own).
yeah, GW, i just ignore the parts i don't care for. :) like sybok. even gene roddenberry admitted he didn't care for that whole storyline.
i hope everyone is following all these amusing chat lines.
My favorite example, hurshy, was in Next Gen, the writer's bible apparently had a whole list of restriction re:story content - including NO time travel --- By the time we are what? 2 seasons into DS9, there has been so much time travel that they have to introduce a Time Patrol division of Star Fleet!
Did they travel in a Tardis?
does anyone have a list of the c's just need one more to finish puzzle c5
William Shatner - Advertises All_Bran - see ads. http://www.visit4info.com/deta ils.cfm?adid=20883
please, they messed with time plenty in TNG too. well, not AS much. but plenty. and did you love the whole temporal cold war thing in enterprise or what?!
So I would have to say that as long as you write a good story, you wouldn't have anyhting to worry about
yes, but could i write a good story? that is the question.
Tor - No no TARDIS, but on that tangent Are you a Dr. Who fan?
WI - There as an absolutely complete list of all words at Babblers Anonymous. See link on right of page.
Please tell me how many words total there are in this puzzle. pleeeeease?
hursh - that is a question that can only be onswered in one way...
The Tardis is The Ultimate Dream Machine and ther are 58 words in today's grid.
Jacula - will check out the ads tomorrow - the household is asleep at the moment. I can't wait!
I need a clue please for we 4/8 - I have the direction. Need the other one pretty please.
Onnly teasing! There are 68 words really.
I think there are 68 words.
Jac - How did you like the newset season of DR. Who?
Sort of, GW. I liked the Tom Baker years as quirky, fun TV. But I don't go far beyond that.
yeah...but i'm a wimp. either that or i'd rather keep my pen quiet and have folks think i'm a bad trek writer than get it out and prove them right.
That 'we' sounds something like a plant or a growth. Doesn't use either of those vowels though.
ok, jacula, i have to know. were you joking before or did you really think charm didn't know what ads were?
hurshy - I am in the same boat as you - I ahve had a couple of books in me for years, but I just can't convince myself to get them on paper
Got it. Thanks.
i don't think i even have them in me yet. i'm only 28, and i would love to be a writer (not just trek). but i don't really feel i have anything to say yet.
hurshy, charm doesn't mind being thought an idiot. She'd just rather not open her mouth and remove all doubt (I know, I know).
remove all doubt! that's how it goes. i always get it wrong.
I had no idea if she knew what ads., to be honest. What did I think of the new Doctor Who series? Not that bad, to be honest, funny! My one true 'real' Dr. Who, being a child viewer of the 60s, is/was William Hartnell.
hurshy, I think ALL of us have a great story inside us. The true writer throws caution to the wind and puts pen to paper (or hands to keyboard). Getting published, though, is another hell.
torgone - I used to love watching DR. Who on my local PBS station and Tom Baker was my favorite... until now They started up with a new doctor last year, the actor Christopher Eccleston, who only signed on for one season, but the storyline was phenomenal! And his companion, Rose, is perhaps one of the best written sidekicks ever!
i don't know. i don't think books are just born inside you like eggs. i think they have to grow.
With respect, hurshy, I will disagree on the point.
Charm -- re: removing doubt; I think all of us have taken outr tuen at being the village idiot, it comes from being misunderstood by the mundanes :)
but, there are all kinds of writers. i might be the growing kind, and you might be the caution-to-the-wind kind. trollope would write exactly a certain number of pages each day. even if he finished an immense novel, and had five pages to go, he'd write five pages of his next.
Charm - you're not wrong there. I say that as a published writer. Mind you, if your muse dies for a few years, despite your enthusiastic publishing editor and then your editor gives you an awful shock, despite getting fit, and dies on you when he's only 59, well, you're back out in the shark pool again...
GW, I think if any 'mundanes' read the chat tonight .... LOL.
I have ONE word left, racking my brain for the last cu 5/14. Any hints, good people?
hurshy - what I have learned about writing, from talkling to many different authors, is that no matter what the topic or genre, the real key is to write, write, write... Writing is a skill/talent which needs to be polished like any other, and there is only one way to do that --- writing!
jbs anno old fashioned form of plural
Jacula, might I have read anything you've penned?
HI JB! last cu/5 - variant spelling of the 6/27
Speaking of the at of writing wrong - see my posting on that subject on my Have A Laugh thread on BabAnon.
yes, i've certainly heard that too GW. i think that is true for sure. i do write some. but i sort of doubt i will ever be a published writer. i don't have the thick skin.
*the ART of writing.
Did we lose Smeltzdog again?
Hurshy, a good friend was having trouble getting her books published by the mainstream publishers (because she didn't fit any of their molds), so she started her own small press. No real money, but great satisfaction, and recognition by her peers.
looks like it.
good for her! that's cool. i could never do it, but it's really cool!
Blestings upon you, GreyWoulfie! I'm DONE!
Charm - no idea! Nothing written under my own name since I was about 11. First got publishd when I was 7. If you read 'Jackie' magazine in the 70s you might have read some stuff of mine, you might have read my stuff in international mags and UK mags in the 80s. I don't know. Sometimes, you can just'know' someone from their writing style...
*looks around* Who's here?
hursh - my problem is that I am my own worst editor. I can't seem to follow th e other key teaching of writing -- Get it down on paper 1ST - then go back and edit it to make it better -- I always edit as I go, and then get frustrated with my lack of progress
You're too young, hurshy, to say 'never.' You might find the resources within yourself when the time comes.
Blessed Be, JB ;D
GW - know the feeling. charm - maybe. but it doesn't bother me, either way. i guess that's the thing, really - i have no ambitions, goals, or anything like that for life whatsoever. i am perfectly happy to just float along quietly on the river of life.
hurshy, you must know my sister! she has found her place in the scheme of the universe and is happy there. Ignore us malcontents.
This is one of the few times I can bask in the irony of a situation. My job description has been changed to Technical Writer. I'm a terrible writer. I always wanted to be a writer, but was never good at it. At all. Now I get paid to write, and there's (fortunately) not much actual writing to it.
Wolfie - NEVER edit as you write. It's a killer! Get it all down first and then go back and murder your babies. Helps if you read it to tape and listen back, too. Leave your budding creation 2 months in a drawer, if you can bear to, and then go back to it for fault-finding.
Whoosh, you guys are awfully serious! Is it time for a cannonball (where's Smeltzdog?), or should I just tiptoe away?
no, lighten us up, JB! we've been serious long enough!
anyone know any bad puns?
I hear, and I obey... *CANNONBALL!!!!!*
know, invent on the spot, what's the diff? give us a theme and we'll be off!
No, charm. Just good ones.
Jacula - back to DR Who for a mo -- what was your opinion of Rose? My friends and I think she is probably one of the best companions to ever be by the Doctor's side, except for her penchant to be on the wrong side of locked doors ;D
Bad puns? If Babble was your Ma-in-Law you'd still have 20 years to do inside. If you want groanworthy jokes, read Bab Anon.
*hurshy, ever un-athletic, attempts cannonball but untucks and bellyflops instead*
fire away, Torgone....
Good thing the sippy cups are covered!
Wolfie - I think Rose was the best and mot feisty companion The Doctor has ever had.
Ummm, Did anyone remember to fill the jacuzzi tonight?
golly, i hate to leave if puns are starting, but i'm on the east coast, and i'm sick, and i really have to go to bed. :(
'nite, hurshy. We'll try again tomorrow.
bye all! see you tomorrow!
Jac - and she is sticking to be with the new incarnation! BTW - do you know when the new season starts, or has it already?
Bye Hurshy.
Hurshy - sorry you are not feeling well :( Get good rest and see you tomorrow (*hug*)
Goodnight hurshy. Sleep well. You're not going to miss much. I think my pun generator may have fallen asleep already.
Hey, Hurshy, wait up! I gotta go too, 6am comes very early on the east coast. *turns on the hot water for the 'cuzzites* *drippy wave* G'night everybody!
G'Nite JB -- wish we had more time to talk :( May your journey to Morpheus be swift and healing
Wolfie - no new series yet, to my knowledge. Rose is a modern girl - this time she's been allowed to be. She can be fashionable and sexy, as all other have been allowed to. Diff. is., this heroine can also have a dilemma about her attraction to her boyfriend (her age) and the Doctor, (far too old for her than she even realises yet). She is also allowed to question things without being told to shut up, unless it's obvious she hasn't a clue and is getting in the way. She can be strong and defensive also. I, for one, am glad to seee the back of the spinless, screaming, wimpy, cowards of females that were once made to populate every kind of film
Just woke up. Still got 15 words to go ("still"!! this is one of my better days). So far I have cr6/24 & hi6/24. What other 6's are there (and clues if possible).
Just found cr6/27 (amazing what a good nights sleep can do)
I'll make an exception for Jane Fonda in Barbarella though. LOL.
Jac - Hear!Hear! That is exactly what we think over here as well. Also, the actress does such a wonderful job of emoting... You FEEL her pain when she is forced to choose between the BF and the Dr. Although, why such a strong individual has such strong feelings for such a wuss is something I just can't wrap my mind around...
And now cu6/24 (I meant cu6/27 before)
I also am enjoying the whole family left behind story that they are exploring -- Rose's Mum is a pip, and when she asks the doctor if Rose will be safe, again you can feel her agony over wanting to protect her daughter while knowing that she has no control over the situation
Whoooooooo-Hooooooooooo!! I did it :) Dang, I'm happy!
Congrats Marolan! Great feeling, ain't it? :D
Wolfie - the 'wus' has metamophosed again. Wait for the next series. In the meantime, just think 'The Doctor'. I'm just trying to think of the name of the one that completely broke the spell for me when I went, with a friend, to ssee him in a play about getting a vasectomy (or not!) at the theatre. 1 and a half hours of seeing his bared, shaven genitlia....:-(
still can't find the e word. anyone got a clue?
Jac - Eeeewww!
Ishult - el + opposite of bye
thanks- 10 more to go. Never been this close to finishing
We're here if you need us, Ishult :)
Ishult - if you scroll back, Mamabear posted the word on the log. Sorry, getting distracted now! Finally listening to a CD my Mum got me last Xmas. It's done by a neighbour of hers, known locally as 'Romeo' due to his not very wel done getting ladies out of cars and into house and then not quite closed curtains upstairs thing. He has no appeal that any of us can see, any ladies of any age! His voice may be the thing that does it though. But I know what games he plays around his wife and his family, so...../
Ok, there are some silly people out there -- I am checking out stuffonmycat.com --- silly people taking advantage of the cats who love them
Wolfie - I don't believe it is possible to take advantage of a cat, unless it's unconscious.
Jac - go look for your self -- some of them are!
Will do in a min., Wolfie. (Hope you don't mind me calling you that?) Incidentally, the shaven Dr. Who was the 7th incarnation, Sylvester McCoy .
Hi Grey... I Hushy!
this was an easy one today.... zipped right thru it
Jac - I haven't objected yet -- and I never did get to see much of the McCoy Doctor although I believe I am with the majority that didn't care for Ace all that much
11/10 on that site - Peanut butter jelly cat (tail hanging out of breadbin) - Who'se been nicking my pics?? LOL.
Hey Tuva - yes it was -- I was able to finish before sprite this AM -- granted I had a 15 min headstart in her, but I'll take every advantage I can
Missinh an l. Have le4/4,5 & 6 + li4/4 Whats missing?
le 4/9 -- risque
Sprite's top of the heap at the mo, I gather?
Jac - how about the face on the cat on 11/8 with the Foster's? Too bad the followup scene of him eating his owners face wasn't there too!
Bloody hell! Excuse for me for a moment, whilst I rip my headphones out, hearing that adulterer sing Perry Como's 'Impossible.'. GRRRRRRRRR.

Grey... well.. it only took me fourteen minutes start to finish.... glad to hear you knocked it out! Gotta go!
Jac - I have no idea.. sprite and I spent a quiet morning a couple of weeks ago sharing parenting advice and observations -- however, I am in awe of her because of how quickly she finishes grids.
the first pe4/7.
Finally finished my second full puzzle......good thing they put small ones on here now and again! Hi to all you nice people again :)
Catch you later, Tuva Jac - I was talking about on the stuffonmycat site, 11/08:Beer, cat, bingo...
Sorry for getting all moral about myCD, folks. But, when you know someone, and what they've done and still do, and then you hear them 'sweetvoicing', I guess it would make anyone see red?
Congrats, catka -- the gods of random probability have been kind to us lately
thanks GreyWoulf
Now, leet me get this right, Wolfie. Sprite's BJ's daughter? You are her hubby?
Most definitely Jac -- I would most likely respond in a like manner -- it is in the same category as the anti drug representative who has a coke habit

re 4 5 more than one Chris Evans. re 4 4 what you may want after a 500-wword gris on Babble. ri 4 4 - what someone may do to you at worlk on on the way there. ri 5 12 - past tense of the word before. ri 5 10- present tense, GRRR! ru 4 5 - might mean downsides in a ploughed field, but otherwise, what a sexually rect mal;e deeer might do while you once watched.

28 mins to go. Any clues needed?
anyone got any clues?
the cu 6 are basically the evil spell - past tense - and - + a consonant (similar to mouse pointer)
All this is being read, in my case, to the background of Elton John singing 'Rocket Man'.
I'm back -- hilaryfan, we always have clues, the question is do you know which ones you need?
are there any words that start with he?
Wish you could transmit sound, Jac :)
It's just my job 5 days a week... clues? Wolfie, you'll know the lyrics I mean?
or m?
he5/14- He****forth to be known as.......
no m's
Hilaryfan - If you click on the Babblers Anonymous link to the right, then click on the General topic, you will find the daily stat board, which includes a breakdown list by the 1st two letters
I tryed putting hench, as in hench men, and it sais "Oops, that is not a vaild word!" stupid not valid words ;)
Jac - in some cases I'll know the lyrics, most cases not, I am great at recognising songs that I like, but am very weak at knowing artist or title thereof
There are no m's Real bad for hens But, never mind, Much more to find... So much Babble it'l lmake you gabble and you'll find new friends or make amends. There again, you might just find a new friend...
