"monkey typing" means wildly putting in combinations of letters - it relates to the old adage about a thousand monkeys at a thousand typewriters for a thousand years would eventually write the greatest novel...or something, it's late here

MissJen, when you are typing combos of letters without being sure they are words, you're monkey typing. With luck, you find a word that way. I've done enough of it to produce to complete works of Shakespeare, myself.

MissJen, click on the square next to your 7. It will take you to dictionary.com. At the bottom of the entry, you will find the noun form of the word. That's what you're looking for. (I usually check all the dictionary defs. for larger words for alternate spellings and root words to see if I've missed anything -- it really helps!)

Advice for new people. First read the babble rules shown at the top right of the page. Then begin to enter words - they will appear as a list showing how many points you get for each word. If you read the chat log you will get clues, but babblers don't give whole words away. Enjoy the game, but be aware that there are lots of words not in common usage.

It's not quite as commercialized as Christmas, but it's getting there. However, I always enjoy Thanksgiving as a time when I see my parents and have a day off; I worked retail for 17 years and that was usually my last day off until Christmas.
yes, it's Plymouth Mass. The pilgrims originally landed in Provincetown, onthe tip of Cape Cod, but there was no fresh water, or food, so they sailed up the coast to Plymouth..... :D

li7 and li 9:- when a company goes bankrupt, it often goes into li*********. The the first part of the li word, drop the id in the middle for the li9. For the li7, drop the suffix and add an e........ does that help?

Babbler I am confused, my silent qu word is spelled correctly but when I put the it 'in' front I only have 4 letters that don't work. What am I missing. Bugzy, not to be personal and I didn't read all the back and forth but I have been married for 32 years to the same woman and consider myself loyal. Cool song, Miyavi_fan -- I was a little worried when it started that it was not going to be my thing, but then it successfully rocked me out. Is that style of music relatively new in Japan? The sort of heavy metal rock stuff with the gothic/horror sort of edge to the look? I've been getting into Japanese horror movies lately -- the video made me think of those, just in the colors and the way it's shot. Very cool! Yep, I lived in Japan for a little over a year when I was a kid. My Dad was a jet pilot for the USMC and we were stationed in Iwakuni, which is a beautiful little town in southern Honshu. It was the best year of my life -- I'd love to go back. It's a great place to be a kid!

I don't miss NY (left for good except for visits in 1967) but there are times when I'd do anything for a real NY potato knish - not the ersatz, healthy, new age ones with puff pastry, but the ones you could buy from a hotdog vendor outside of Bloomingdales - wieghed about 2 pounds, dripping with grease (probably shmaltz) crispy outside ....I can make a decent fascimile but nothing like the real thing. can you still get them there?

LOL tegranath. I bought a DVD from this lady selling them on the sidewalk once. It was for the movie "Finding Nemo". The DVD was basically some guy holding a camera inside a theater and videotaping the movie while the theater played it. At one point, someone got up and walked through the camerashot inorder to get popcorn or something. I guess that is what you get for 4 bucks.

That is proof that you are a true New Yorker, Eva. I have only been to Katz's because I used to live 2 blocks from it (Ludlow St.). It is nice in the winter because it is just locals but it is crazy in the summer because it is full of tourists trying to figure out how to pronounce "knish".
