Hi again everyone!

hi there!
hello
Hehe mica! I was lurking, can't you tell?
dlfox, when u said what u see at half time beginning with TW, i went for the idiots :P
96 words today
how do you know 96 words?
Just got the stats
yes zubie coz u always post at 12.01am every morning :P
from where?
98 tonight -- not too bad!
another little 'un.... :D
I got 4 words so far. That's it, right??
lol @ dlfox
yes, I bet a large subset of tw8/60's are idiots...
I'm a newbie I got 12
I guess I'll try harder
Nava If you are a pro babbler and pay $10 you get a list of words and grid where they go.
i only got 29.... a lot more to go
sorry not list of words! but how many
oh, cause i get the stats off babblers anonymous, but they aren't posted yet. so thanks
Howdy do
tw 8/60
Time to st5/8 off my clothes and hit the hay. Because I'm ho5/16 . But i fear I'll have a sore wr5/18.
You are welcome. there is one 8 letter word and 6 of 7 letters
Ooo, got that tw 8 too
tw8/60 - see them at halftime shows - sometime opening ceremonies of the olympics. Makes your head spin
Really, mica? LOL! I didn't notice that!
bit early for clues......... but thanks anyway :D (most amusing they were too!)
yes zubie, i noticed it yesterday and the day before too ;)
i'm gonna take of my under wi 4/8 when i hit the hay and let my ti 4/4 loose
Haha mica! You know what that means? YOU were lurking, too! ;D 55 now. What's the total for today?
my stats say 96, zube :) (am at a pitiful 25....)
Hi dirty little babblers.... sounds like an over 18 room tonight.... how is everyone?

I know....... that cracked me up too! :D
yeah... I've been laughing like crazy... fellow coworkers think I'm nuts... (well to be honest, they were always suspicious of me :-) )...
tbugs! :o Lol but I'm shocked! mica - I hardly ever wade through the logs. Babbler, hi!
zubie: coz u're so good at this! :P
zubie, did you just skype me?
No, mica! Because I try to wade through and then the page refreshes and I have to scroll down all over again! Argh!
Skype, Babbler? Meaning?
you just wanted to join me, right? :) We would tw5/18 and tw5/18 until you cried un5/14
hmmmm, skype is a bit like MSN, but fancier (you can make free calls on the internet..... http://www.skype.com/ ... I ask because someone just asked to add me to their contact list.... but I don't know who!! Think I'd best decline...
Well, it obviously wasn't me, babbler! I hadn't even heard of skype!
not a bad thing to download, if you wanted to (that's why I sent you the link). Add your friends and save on your phone bill! ebay have just bought skype, or something like that. It's pretty good, but still fairly new, so not as fantastic as MSN... :)
.... in my humble opinion..... : )
*se 4/4 dlfox's tw 4/8 ri 4/4*
coupla UNs the tw4/8 is rather un6/33
Ok, I'll check it out.
nah, it needs a re4/4
Yeah there are NO q words yaba daba
gonna go out for the nite w/55 words, till tomorrow then... happy babbling to you all! :)
34 words.... gonna try sleep again.... will take the grid with me, usually nod off looking for the obscure ones. see y'all later (or tomorrow, seeing as it's only a little'un) see you at 12.01 tomorrow, zube! : )
Won't be here tomorrow, Babbler. I'll see you the day after! :D Have a good babble-nodding-obscure-word-se arching sleep! :D
it's a date, zube! : )
good night everyone... gonna dive in here and see if I can knock this one out quickly... 45 to go...

nava, look at your right for links and click on the one called babblers anonymous there are stats there
Ok - the coin is frustrating me! :(
zubie, think error, but starts with EY and change the second vowel to another vowel

I'm stuck on an s6 scoring 18 - I have the emphasis after yes or no. This is my last word. Any clues?
It's a spelling variation of the same word, Chris!
I mean - a spelling variation of the s word which you already have (the emphasis one)
Thank you very much Zubie. Now I can have some breakfast, get dressed, start my day, get a life etc!!!
You're welcome, Chris! Can you do me a favour? Kick me out of here! I've been lurking for an hour after finishing!
Right Zubie - it's time to go and do something else! (Sorry, I find it hard to be stern, when I do exactly the same!!).

Good morning. Sherry .... who's the hunk?
Hi Jo! Everygirl seem to be asking this...wonder why... He's Captain Apollo (Jamie Bamber) in Battlestar Galactica. Also played Lt Archie Kennedy in Horatio Hornblower (with the B & B effect: Bicorns and Breeches).
Wellll ... he's dreamy ;-) What a way to start the morning! LOL
Sherry - you will have to add a bit to your bio that says who the "hunk" is! I see you are still having probs with your flag, you can always email Dr_God and ask if he can sort for you.
Alleyn: you mean no list today?!?
Mmmmmm... Horatio.... good morning all!
Ho HUm: lol! About the flag, well, I'm sorta getting used to it! Meanwhile I explained in my bio that I'm actually French. I'll have to mail the Doc.
i hav these wot am i missing...apart from a few bits of grey matter!! un 5 14 un6 24 un5 14 un 5 20 un 6 33 ur 4 5
Hi Jera! That one is Archie. Horatio would be Ioan (Gruffudd, not bad either btw). Lol! Need a coffee?
Morning all! Ahhhhh, Ioan Griffuld. Nice mind image at 7:20 in the morning! Who needs coffee? :)
Where's today's list? Can"t find it...
Forgot to post the list before I left for work this morning. Don't have the list generator here.
It hasn't been posted. Usually that means brandyjack has a migraine and can't get to it.
Oh, yes, I know who Horatio is... ;>>>>
Or..... maybe he just forgot. :)
I have finished the grid and am willing to have a go at posting it up there if anyone wants?

Hi Jacula!
jacula, in babblers anonymous, fmitch posted up a 2nd letter scorelist too
Thanks Jacula!
sherry, did u get the oy 4/6 like australia's famous rock cept beginning with O
Hi Sherry. Micamonkey - Yes, re FMitch. Have just looked. Full list like that can't be posted here though. Hope my lists also help.
Now I got it! :)
is the "qu" used at all??
yeah i know jacula hehe :D earlier when nobody completed yet, it was crazy :P btw sherry, the other Or 5 and 7 (plural) is a fragrant rootstock used in perfumes and cosmetics. Also called o****root.
ouw, no
Ouwachita - Scroll down to stats posted at 7:33am.
Thanks a lot Mica!
Sherry - 'or' is a powdered root of Iris Germanica & Iris Florentina.
I've just posted a modified list on Babblers Anonymous using FMitch's 2nd letter combined with my old style listing. Have to remember to bring the latest program into work.
yay brandyjack :D goes to show what can we do without you :D
Thanks Brandy Jack! Jacula: got it!
not that i have the spare time to play here at work......
brandyjack-- your devotion goes above and beyond. you should receive the beige babbler badge
actually, i googled "fragrant rootstock" and the "or" word leapt out at me.
um, I believe there is a difference between devotion and obsession.......
in my circle, we refer to it as focused.
brandyjack-- as in many other things, let history judge.
Hey Brandyjack! It is perhaps fortunate that you forgot! I was forced to do some thinking! :D Just came back to say thanks for the list, although I finished.
Careful, too much thinking isn't good for you. It gets me in trouble every time.
Well, Brandyjack. This time I finished without a list, so I felt hopeful about my brain!
Well, 18 words to go. Am a little stuck. I'll be back later on! Tada!
Hey all, I'm back from taking everyone with lives where they need to go... some Babble time for Mom now!
Does anyone have an e list handy? I could use some ideas on that front...
ee4 - long, squirmy things sometimes eaten jellied. el4 - 'Tidy your room, or el**!' er4 - Variant spelling of birds of prey at sea. er4 - At a previous time. (Usually seen in a longer form.) es4 - More than one 19th letter. eu4 - Newish money of a continent including France. ey5 - Old Icelandic coin equal to 1 Krona.
Just went out and bought Official Scrabble Words - priceless ... well, it was a tenner!
SpeedfreakSam - Am hoping to find that book in my Christmas stocking.
hey folks, how's everybody today?!
can anyone help me with that last si 6 and 7 combo (at least i hope it's a combo!)?
hey hurshy love the icon, glad that someone else has the same taste. hi all ;o)
Live long & prosper! LOL.
thanks bobsta! jac - were you here the other day when i said how i used to make my mom write that one my birthday cakes?
Whew! Done. That was touch-and-go for a while!
sorry, that was supposed to say "on"
oh goody, jen, you're done just in time to give me a clue.
woohoo jen!! WTG
Hurshy - Don't know where I was but it sounds like a good cake greeting to me! I got a new book today called 'Naughty Cakes'. There are some humdingers in there!:-)
There's a 'mudpit' cake and a 'jacuzzi' cake for a start. LOL.
well you'll have to bring the jacuzzi cake tonight for smeltz!
I'm at your service hurshy!
i am having trouble with the last si 6 and 7 combo
Double up the middle consonant of your 1st si5 for those last two words.
You know your si5/10 and 6/18? Add another consonant (the same letter, in fact)
Sorry, Jen. Didn't mean to leap in.
hi all
Hello Bubbles.
hello bubby x
ah, so obvious! haddock please!
hi jacula. Hi babe, should have known you were playing!!! I've got mental block at 49 words!
I'm here for clue-giving as long as my coffee lasts.:-)
i've just got to 45 and and i've got as far as the s's gonna stop for an hour cos everwood is on in a min!
thanks but don't think clues are gonna help me today, new brain would work though!!!
isn't it on now?
Hurshy - Have checked the freezer and I can only offer you fish fingers, cod steaks, trout or kippers. Will one of those do? Oh, hang on, I do believe there may be a haddock down at the bottom somewhere...
just starting so i'm off for a while x
see ya babe, enjoy x
Okay, I'm outa here. Have a great day everyone!! :)
Blimey! I've never managed to empty a chatlog before!
I'm back........what site are we using for a prop? A to Z seems to have changed. Suggestions please?
ok, how about the st 6 and 7 combo?
Hurshy - it means to trail, saunter or be drawn along. Think of the song 'Dancing In The St****' and change last letter and then add a letter at end for the '7'.
alleyn, i can't get a2z the screen comes up but thats all, think the server is down
thanks jac!
Just checked a2z. It's working fine.
anyone know how many words today?
jacula, it isnt for me.
thats weird, must be my IT department trying to tell me to do some work!!
Hi E-Gurl. Scroll back to my stats of 7:33am.
I cannot get A2Z to work either. Just a blank where the options usually are.
thanks jacula
grr. how about that last pair of ti's - 5 and 6?
So glad it's not just boxing me out! Didn't realise how much I relied on it.
frances thats the same as mine, if you click on all the other words, anagram, scrabble etc it works but can't find the options for finiding the words
Last 2 ti's - easy way of cluing you in is to say French titles.
gosh, what is with me today?
Check a2z again and it's still working for me. Didn't use it today, mind you. Partial letters look-up is working.
jacula - just checked a2z again and it's still down...
Jacula - Yes, can now open the site but what method did we use? It seems to have been changed............
Alleyn - http://www.a2zwordfinder.com/
any clues on the tw7 and tw8...plz
just checked. a2z working fine here.
But once there which word thing do you use?
tw7 & 8 build on your tw5/18 - the person/s that do the tw5'ing.
Alleyn - Partial Letters Look-up.
tw one baton tw7 two baton tw8
yes! finished!
Just checked a2z yet again and I just keep getting a blank screen (apart from the ads)
ty....DUH!!! I was using the wrong r
Well done, Hurshy!
thanks for your help, jac.
hurshy good.
AAH - that's what I can't find today. And yesterday it wouldn't allow you to go back to the main page to change the letters ............
ooooh... did you ever feel so nervous that it was incredibly hard to concentrate on your work?
all the time.
hey joelgee! didn't notice you there - guess it's that nervousness...
just popped in for a mo.
well, mo's not here. but i'm glad to see you.
Time I was off again. Coffee's finished and the non-Babbleverse calls. TTFN.
ha
always enjoy your presence, hurshy
and i yours
Alleyn, Movieman - I had exactly the same problem with A2Z so perhaps it's a UK thing.
Any one have any other site?

Hello Bradyjack.... got to thank you for restoring my faith in myself, I've just finished without the help of your stats or a to z, which wouldn't let me in for some reason. Never the less please don't stop doing the stats (Ever) they are such a help to this Oldie.

It is cold Miyavi - is this Thursday English homework night?
Heya, M_fan! Warm and sunny here...
Yup, so soon all my classmates will be taking over the log *shudders* Like I didn't see enough of them today...
It's not the easiest grid today, so there'll probably be a few complaints!
mu a2zwordfinder has changed their site you have to change the info each time you use it
Hey Torgone :) Where are you that it's warm and sunny? On this side of the pond, we're all freezing our tails off. Expecting to see penguins any time soon
1 to go...un5/14...just before "not smart"...HELPPPPPPP...so I can get some work done
Does anyone have a clue for tw 8
Sorry - I' m not down that far yet.
Urgh...I can see it now..."CAN 1 OF U PLZ GIV ME A CLUE THIS IS H/W!!!"
Sunny San Diego California, M_fan.
plural of tw7/44
tw 8 you see on the football field at halftime.....also in parades leading the drill teams

Hey babe, you always make me feel warm and sunny!!! How`s your son doing? Hi again Miyavi, hi everyone :)
don't have next UN5 yet, then
lotti!!! (((((((xXxXxXxXxX))))))) He is much better. Should be coming home today.
Hey Lotti :) If I suddenly shut up this morning, it's because the sadist ICT teacher turned off the internet on the computers >_< *shakes fist* A pox on him! A pox I say!
Oh brilliant, it must be the magic of a few lovely nurses and a wonderful father with fantastic tlc!! ((((((((((XXxxxxxXX)))) )))))
Miyavi i was worried you`d been caught!!!
Ouwa do you mean not torn!
Nah, my ICT teacher isn't the sharpest tool in the box :D I was listening to music through my earphones all through the lesson, and he didn't notice that
lotti...apparently since i dont have that...lol
ty lotti...i have them all...anyone need a clue???
Do you actually need to hear what he`s saying????
has any1 got a clue to the st 6.18 & 7-28 please
morning all!
Congratulations Ouwachita!!!!!!!!
st6 and 7...kind of like a road but change the last letter and then pluralize it
good morning, everyone, by the way.
No, we were just working off worksheets. Besides, he's more of a glorified babysitter than a teacher. I had to show him how to plug in the keyboards the other day :)
Hi Efor :)
Hey Scouts :)
hi scoutsmom long time no see hehe
I cannot find the other si 6. Not the one posted at 9:24.
un5 - Your father's brother. un6 - Your father's brothers. un6 - To wind out (for instance) fishing line. un7 - What someone does when they perform the above act. un6 - Inability to sleep or sit still, maybe. un5 - To mend that which is torn. un6 - Not very clever, not reommended to do. un7 - Even more of the above. un5 - Ignorance, want of understanding. un6 - The act of doing the above. ur4 - Jugs, maybe for holding ashes or tea.
Ginger - Roll your r's for that word!
wow! thanks jacula!
Hiya Scouts. You`ll be pleased to know that the concrete has all (hopefully) been removed today by the builder!!!! Now third time lucky the drain doctor should be here in the next couple of hours!!! I`ve never smelt anything as bad ........ever!!!!!!
what is that suppose to mean?
Ginger - It means double up your middle consonant for the 'si' word you seek.
No fish yet, unless you count e4/4.
True, Torgone, but there are some birds.
I'm confused now, maybe I'm talking about the other one.
LOL Honey, theres a bird though!!! Not as gorgeous as you though ;)
There are the 'er4's' I gave clues for a while back and a little 'Jenny', one of our own was once one.
Ginger - Counting down after si4 (father), which 'si's' do you have?
Of course Jacula...I have that one its the "t" one i forgot about, but Torgone does a good picture clue for that LOL!!!!!
what you mean si (father) dont see that clue
Lotti - Oh yes, forgot the ti's! LOL. There are a couple of blue ones outside, it's that cold today.:-)
I have the one under si (father).
Hello all =o)
LOL I know what you mean!!!!
Hey, TSM :) How are you?
As long as the inside ti's aren't blue, I shant worry.
E-Gurl - si4 (father). Often what a male horse who fathers foals is called. Used to be a way of addressing men, too.
Hi TSM :)
M_Fan-Great thanks and yourself? :) Hello Lotti!
No Torgone mine aren`t so don`t worry.........i wouldn`t know about Jacula`s !!!!
jacula-Did you forget about me?
Hi Toes! Lotti - Mine are mauve right now. LOL. Off out to corner shop soon so they may well turn blue.:-)
thats only 3 letters though if i am thinking the same word as you are clueing me about
Clue, anyone for st/6.....last word, so please help!
Jacula, Ginger hi hi hi :)
Ginger - No, I've been writing you some clues: si5 - you have this. For si6 below it, add a letter to make it plural. Next si6 - double up your middle consonant from si5. Si7, after that, add a letter to your 2nd si6 to make it plural.
I'm fine thanks TSM :) Starting to plummet dismally in maths though...:(
Hi ToSoMo. Are your toes warm today?
You`re killing me Jacula!!!!! ROFPML :O Mine you could say are black, but thats the fabric surrounding!!!!!
Toes-I have 59 and I'm getting frustrated.
Lotti - That's what I meant, too. LOL.
M_fan - Really? Math and History where always my favorites in school
Ginger - Has that helped?
I gathered that or i`d be calling you a doctor!!
OR 5?
liz mac add the word that is on a fishing pole to the st and you will have the st 6
Torgone! Hey :) It is extremely cold out here but my toes are nice and warm thanks!
LizMac - for the last st6, think 'Dancing In The St****' and change the last letter.
Ginger - I am sorry you are frusterated. I just started but I have 14! lol
and I am finished!
Really really. I don't have a maths brain. Or any sort of brain, really :D My best is English...it makes way more sense
Thanks, but got that one. The other one eludes me.
I`ll 2nd that Miyavi, i`m the same!!!
HarpJane - or5. Powdered root of Iris Germanica or Florentina.
liz mac add another letter at the end of the word right before it
Last st5 - 77 Sunset St***. Or what the boys from Sheffield did in The Full Monty.
M_Fan - Good for you! I always had better grades in the classes that were my favorite. I liked anything that had to do with creative writing as well.
i need 57 more words
jac-ty
Holy smokes, Jac! How did this ho5/16 old goat not get that one???
Jacula, thanks! And I loved that movie! So funny!
Gotta go for now, folks. I'll do some more clue lists if I have time in between chores.xx
I'm gone too have a good day everyone!
See ya later Jac....Stillcrazy :)
Later Jac, SC.

Torgone did you just say you missed the ho5/16...tut tut, it was my 1st word suprise suprise !!!!

LOL well go on then!!!!! ;o)
Hi everyone:) has anyone got any QU words- do they actually exist???
Lotti-can you give a hint for ho 5/16
no qu's today!
No bidders none in this grid :)
No Q words today.
no q words today
Algebra is just too jangly. x + y = my brain melting. Strangely enough, my best friend is top in maths. Heh, I'll have to beg help with my homework off the babblers! ^_^ Since the friends are more concerned with laughing at me :D As usual!
Hey Bidders :) Think I can guess who you are...
lotti-Never mind, easy enough
Thanks lottijw i should really start looking at the stats!!
Ginger it a feeling you get when you`re getting passionate ha ha!!!!
Ginger1 HO5/16 Someone who hasn't had sex for a long time is probably really HO5/16
I guess I figured if the ti4/4 were out, the st5/12 had already happened!
Lotti, that's one way of putting it! Strangely enough, there's a whole page in my student planner on which I wrote, "HONK IF YOU'RE HO---!" It's amazing how many passing people wrote 'honk' around it
HI All! I feel for you Miy! Algebra is cruel and unusual punishment.
LOL I Love ya big guy!!!
And i can guess who you are too myavi *evil laugh*
: )
Minski, it's a conspiracy. Conspiracy I say! *edgy* Bidders, I get the feeling you're watching me from somewhere! *hides under desk*
Miyavi, you shouldn`t be doing things like that!!!! Well, not this year anyway !!!! :/
Miyavi i may be closer than you think mwahh haa haaa
MINST! ROFL!!!!
Too late, Lotti :) It's my friends, they're polluting my innocent mind. (hah) It doesn't help that today I misread song lyrics...the word 'erratic' became, inexplicably, 'erotic', for some reason... :/
Bidders, that's kind of freaky. And obviously, a person like me would have their mind on much higher things that whether or not they are being spied on. Think I'll just go and close the blinds though...
I know what you mean.....all my friends are a bad influence on me too!!!! Peer pressure huh, i was such an innocent..............
I can't remember innocence. As soon as I got into Dir en Grey and started looking at their translated lyrics, any innocence I may have ever had made it's excuses and disappeared stage left :)
Does anyone know the other two p`s i`ve only got pi4/5 :(
st6/21 anyone?
lotti - plural of your 4/5, and LaBrea Tar _ _ _ _
Hey i`m old enough to be your mother....You hang onto your innocence!!!!!!
There's another Pi4/5 and its plural. I'm guessing that the pi you have is what's at the center of fruit.
Too late now
Sorry, the odd one is "A quill or reed on which thread or yarn is wound; a bobbin; also, the wound yarn on a weaver's shuttle; also, the reel of a fishing rod. [Scot.]"
ST6/21 ST plus the part of a fishing rod that holds the line and rolls it up
tut tut tut Torgone. YOu need to watch the words you use in your definitions. Naughty boy!
anyone else notice that the wr4/8 has been in, like, the last three or four puzzles?
Gah! Anyone got one of those songs that is just the most addictive thing in the world? For me it's 'Dice' by Hide...excuse me for five minutes, I must go boogie to this one :)
Scouts, I have. Cheeky minx of a word
You gave away the ST6
Scoutsmom i noticed cause i thought the puzzle was old when i looked at it this morning
Oops! My bad. The dangers of careless cut-and-paste. Somebody spank me.
Ooh! Ooh! Let me!
Me, me, me me!!!!!!!
he did?
Does anyone have the sn word
My naughty demonchild just hit the button that reboots my computer while I was in the middle of babbling.
I have it. I found it after you asked by playing with the points. It's an SN4/6. There aren't too many letter combinations that are possible.
For the ST6 read my 10:37 hint followed by Torgone's 10:36 hint
Someone please pass me the fish, i`ve only just got those p`s duh!!!!
Clue for the ey, please?
*Volunteers to wield the obvious fish*
Does anyone have the es 4 w/ the points
I have only got 25 words i think my brain couldn't take the strain of school and has finally given up on me:(
Cmon Torgone, just bring it over xx
ginger - its an es4/4
*competitive streak bursts out and starts showing off* HAH! I win I win! *starts running round the room*
...Hello!

Puzzle isn't too bad today...with some helpful clues, I finished pretty quickly (for me that is!) : )
Hey Chester :)
Torgone....are you ready to put your magic hands in action??? My back is starting to ache a little!! :(
hi cathrine or hayley
Ooh, you've narrowed it down then! ^_^
Hi EB how ya doing?
Ginger - its the plural of the tw7 which also builds off the tw5 Hello all!
Don't know if anyone needs this list: ho4 - the person weeding the flowerbed. ho4 - a unicorn has one of these. ho5 - a cow has two of these. ho5 - sexually aroised, or you could describe both of the above animals as being this. hu4 - disparaging term for a German, esp. in WWI.
Always lotti . . I'm there ... We may have to be discreet with the c-h-i-l-d-r-e-n about though. . .
fine lotti - my cold is a little better, I'm finished with the puzzle and it's almost the weekend : )
Hi FMitch :) Chester we know who she is !!!!
*Make that last hu4 'Germans' (plural).
hu r u
Jacula - thanks for the "u's"...I was a bit dense on 2 of them but finally finished w/ your clues...
lotti
Awww you`re my angel :) I really need it. *No talk of blank canvas then* !!! ;)
Hi lotti - cold today!! Have put the heating on for the first time since last winter!!
Glad to be of help, EasternBlue.
Wow FMitch mine has been back on for weeks now!
Hey FMitch ^_^
ir4 - annoys. is4 - body of land surrounded by water. is5 - more than one of the above.
Torgone...*glares* no need to be discreet. We do go to school you know. It's a hundred times worse there!
we children are fine with po4/5, LOVE IT just now know better not to partake babble pair bonds - stong like bull
Miya - it's like the sparkling cider...no need to add to the corruption! : )
LOL lotti, my place retains heat pretty well but today bbbbrrrrr. Miy - *huge big hug for you*
hu r u mitch????
Miyavi, trust me! You really don`t want to see what me and Torgone get up to !!!!!! :)
Lotti, remember I was here for the furry handcuffs! FMitch, it was blimmin' nippy noodles around here as well. Eastern, there is no way you can add anymore!
aaawww heck as soon as I sit down for a babble I get called away!! not fair esp as I am done with the grid was looking forward to a chat. back soon - ish.

Oooo back soon, Drain Doctor here "AGAIN" !!!!!
richtig... anyone have any idea what Machiavellism is? I'm trying to figure out whether it's an actual word, or Kyo is being obscure again
Mfan... dictionary??? wikipedia??? google???
Miyavi - Machiavellism, the doctrine taught by Machiavelli in "The Prince," that to preserve the integrity of a State the ruler should not feel himself bound by any scruple such as may suggest itself by considerations of justice and humanity; the State he regards as too precious an institution to endanger by scruples of that sort.
Thanks, Jac! That makes sense...I, er, think. *sighs* Kyo and his obscureness...
hehehe. finally found it. thanks smaller!
LOL, Miyavi. I'm off to do some more ironing. Will type a list of 'w' clues in a bit, if anyone wants??
does anyone have a clue for the ey word?

ey5 - Old Icelandic currency equal to 1 Krona.
e_gurl - thats the one that I am missing too! anyone help me finish the puzzle!!!

'ey' word sounds a bit like an eagle's nest.
A to Z back and working.................
Chester - There are no n's today.
how do you no this
ah. found it on the reverse dictionary... btw, Chester, no N's today!
So Jac, would the lyrics "hurry up! hurry up! wrist-cut show!" make sense under the title 'machiavellism'? (please don't ask) though it sounds more like he's saying, 'kaoru, kaoru, eat cashew!' bit of a strong accent
wi4 - Can be electrial, or maybe the type of coathanger that gets all tangled with others of its kind in your wardrobe. wi5 - plural of the above. wi4 - Someone may be 'thin & wi**'. wi4 - Clear, like the old owl. wi5 - Even more clever. wi5 - To be more clever, he 'wi*** up'. wi4 - Past tense and past participle of the singular form of the next wi4 in the list. There again, someone with a crush may stare 'wi*******' at the object of their affection. wi4 - If danger is near, you need to have your 'wi** about you'.
Thanks Jacula
Miyavi - No idea! Chester - Because I have finished the grid. See the stats I posted at 7:33am.
walnut what is the reverse dictionary
okay, thanks Jac :)
Yahoo !! Finished !!
wr4 - Little bird called Jenny. wr5 - To obtain by violent twisting movements. (Sounds like re4/4 - leisure/remainder of.) wr5 - What connects your hand to your arm. wr4 - A court order. wr5 - More than one court order. wr5 - With more dry, ironic humour.

the 2nd and 3rd wi 5/18s both relate to the prev wi4
Harvey think not wet but dr- and change the first letter and ad a superlative
nonny, you do NOT need help with tr4/4 and 5/10. you will hate yourself if we give you clues for those.
me too, joey. I keep finding other t's when I look for the ti's.
Joey - the 5/12 with a consonant at the end
Why am I going crazy....I still cannot get it!
hurshy, you should have your students log on as Warf, Troy, Riker, Data, etc so sad that I remember those, though
one set of ti's is like some tw's without the w one set is french for the name of a book, plus plural one set is on the wheels last one is sort of rude word...
thanks, Doll, never thought of that..........
Thank you all my small brain finally found it!!!
sad? how about, i would be shocked if you didn't!
Hurshy saw all the clues about the French book - is it the title of a specific book, or how you say book in French?
Ginger1 try a different consonant at the end
thanks, it was mock self-derision....now that I have a cohort
my students that babble are raolen, tegrenath, and something like spikeranma. say hi to them if you see them. they haven't been chatting much bc they're afraid i'll see them and tell them to stop and study (it's exam week).
joey, the name of a book is its _______. french for that.
My last three any help? st 6/18 (have the one that sounds like another name for a road) st 7/28 ti 5/10
thanks, Hurshy, I will try that.
there's only one st 6/18

ti 5 is either easy plural or the french book thing we've been mentioning
Thanks!

Oh Doll its doing my head in. I haven`t parted with my cash yet!!!!! I`m not looking forward to that....
Scout - don't feel bad...I took French for a year in college & am completely wretched at knowing anything! In high school I took Latin - which actually helps in Babbleland!
gaah, joey! help me out!
lol Scout
Scout - key is to start with the first 3 letters of the "nasty" word, then the first letter of the abbreviation of the smallest state, then a vowel. then pluralize it. lmk
well boss will be back from lunch soon and I must look busy so I'm off - happy babbling all
If you saw the drain guy you wouldn`t let him rub anything....... back or front!!!!!
ty, joey! you're my new best friend today.
bye doll!
See ya later Doll :)
Nonny Look for tr4/5.
Scout you are so welcome. so many people have helped me, probably you too, that I am just thrilled to be able to help. Definitions are great - but sometimes it takes a little hand holding to get through...... been there many times.

kakamolaka, sorry for shortening your name, just realized what it sounded like shortened, sounds like another name for poop. oops, forgive me!
Smaller, we were all making stuff we had designed ourselves, for some kind of competition...the winners' dish is sold in Sainsburys. Mine wasn't the most interesting in the room, but it was edible...a definite plus, I think

Hey Temple :) How are you?
better than I could do, Miya besides if it's not made out of chocolate, why bother Hi Temple!
Hey Niam! Done any karoake lately? :D
great, myavi - ditched work to write a paper...only in for a quick visit!
Smaller: sure! I live in France, in Toulouse. That's south west. I entered that in my profile but there was no flag when I posted. So I had the Irish flag. I mail the good Dr and he someone solved the problem...now, I've got the shape of a flag! Colours impending. LOL!
I sang to the people I work with... does that count? It's finals week, I haven't been out in a while
my sentiments exactly. Mine featured whipped cream, strawberries, raspberries and dark chocolate. Cardiac arrest on a plate, but...yum :)
Wow!!! That's it!! Colours!!
Refresh the page everyone to get that French flavor. The flag issue has been resolved...finally.
hi niamh...darn i was afriad i'd miss someone...
colors are there, Sherry!!! Dr. God is so thoughtful!
no worries temple, I just got here (was actually doing some work)
sherry - who's your icon?
That's me, 72 TO.
Niam, that counts :) Like the time I unknowingly treated a group of guys I didn't know to my rendition of Miyavi's 'pop is dead', since that was what was playing in my headphones and I didn't realize I was singing along!
Sherry, sherry, sherry, you can only keep the colors if you spell "color" correctly. you crazy foreigners! thanks Dr. God
sorry, tor....LOL ; D
Need help on an re4/4, and then I'm sure I'll need to be hit with the fish. I have: The fishing implement its plural and what one does at the end of the day.
Aftyer the Flag saga, the Hunk saga! This wonderful man is Captain Apollo, in Battlestar Galactica, and played by Jamie Bamber. This guy also played LT Archie Kennedy in Horatio Hornblower.
US, crazy foreigners!? That's a good one, from somebody who spells 'favourite' as 'favorite'. And aluminium as aluminum. It's laziness, I say, sheer laziness!
I was cleaning up the staff lounge (I'm the peon) just singing along and a whole group of people came in to eat lunch... I just kept on singing till the song was over!
Miya, EFFICIENT!
Sherry, I'll see your Jamie and raise you a Vin. hee hee
Thanks again Dr!
scout's mom: shorten your fishing implement...
Darleen, oooo Vin, yes vin, over and over vin

smaller, I try. I try reeeeeeeallll hard.
that's cute Miyavi, I can't really argue that point...
miyavi your creaton sounds scrumptious!
Miya, the only thing we got rid of was your superfluous letters. Content retained. Word love-handles lipo-ed.

but Miy, muscles are HOT!
Miyavi - i agree re muscles but i draw the line at androgyny..my rule is to never date a guy who weighs less than i do...
Amen, Miy. Only I like 'em more on the nerdy side as opposed to the pretty.
Miya, aw yer so fuhn! (that's actually Montana speak so read it like someone whose mom got knocked up by her brother during a hay ride to the moonshine shack) personal story by the way ; )
Okay Jen83, should I take slow breaths too....
Since when is RESIT not a word?
Miya: lol! Too bad you can't see Jamie's eyes: blue bullets!

un6: 1) relatives 2) like taking film off of a projector 3) upheaval 4) not very smart 5) people who aren't very bright
The strange thing is that all my R's are blanked out (8 words)on the grid but only 7 are showing on the list so I suppose it must have accepted RESIT somewhere!

hey, turnip.
owz everybody?
Hi Turnip!
Yes, Anj...with a lot of these, you just have to get one and it snowballs from there.
im guessing ur al fine... any clues :D?
there are 33 five-letter words today, m-t. you should do very well with your homework.
i hope so!
I'm off for 15 mins: doggie!
got the SI's! Thanks! And, you can call me K :) just got these pesky SEs left 2nd SE 5/10 last SE 4/4
hello all. How are things in Babblonia this afternoon (EST or GMT-5)?
I see we have a Pastafarian amongst us.
for the se4/4, take a formal title for a gentleman (the beginning three letters of the si's you just got), change the vowel, and make it plural.
K: the se5/10 is another word for "mystics" or "psychics." hello, joelgee.
scoutsmom-- hi. what is in your icon's cup?
good evening - an early start for me tonight..I had a very hard decision to make babble or ironing...it took at least 2 minutes to make up my mind....the ironing will have to wait until tomorrow evening !
Hi Joelgee, CathB :)
hi Bugzy
it's "coffee."
Yipe! Evening all to those i've missed :/
scoutsmom-- scrolling through the recent log, I see you used the word, "snowball". Not funny in MI.
any easy clues scoutsmom? i have 6 words so far (woohoo)
Hi joel :) Hi cathb :)
hey, anj. I hope your icon is abstract or else I've just lost another vital brain cell.
m-t, do you have ho5/12 and ho5/16?
Some nice snow today, Joelgee? I'm envious.
LOL joelgee... hence the new icon today!
i have ho5/12
I have 82 and I'm struggling...
bugzy-- the snowflake thing. Why? Why? Why? Michigan: winter wonderland, my a$$!
oh i got it!! the ho5/16
Instead of making it be plural, add a "y." Unless that'll get you in trouble with your teacher.
Hi Lola hi Anj
and may i add lmao!
K: How are you doing?
hi kids! Not even really playing today, but I wanted to say hi anyway!
scoutsmom-- envious? whereforth art thou? lola-- hi. who are you in iconish today?
Hey boreetos! :)
hows it going lola?
boreetos-- Those better not be frozen burritos!!
I'm in Memphis, Land of One Half-A**ed Snowfall Per Year. Helllooooo, Boreetos!
Hey Sis, Hi Anj, Hi everyone!!!! Still have a BLOCKED DRAIN!!!! I think the drain guys can`t get enough of me LOL!!! They`re coming back tomorrow with their "big" boss!!
Hey, we didn't get hit too bad, joel. I hear upnorth and west were expecting 6-12 inches of snow. There you go, Bambi hunters!!
any clues for qu?
any hints on tw7/44 and tw8/60 plz
joel, the green absinthe fairy :) boreetos, great thanks and you?
joelgee, of course not, those are homemade, piping hot, definately not-frozen boreetos. Hi Scout's Mom!
Hi Lotti.... would a "snake your drain" joke be entirely inappropriate here?!?
Lotti. You're killing me with the drain guys. Back rubs? Now you get the BIG BOSS?
super, lola. thanks!
M-t, no qu words. You won't even use it today.
Hi sis! Oooh, the BIG boss??!! lol!
Scouts i`m a veeerrryy lucky girl!!!!
Today's not the issue, bugz. It's just a sign of things to come, like when the 1st Egyptian got hit by the 1st locust and said, "huh! a locust. how strange." Then BAM!! locusts up to their eyeballs.
oh kk then cheers. any clues in general then?
Don`t know how big yet!!!!!!! ;o)
how'd your date with the "cowboy" go last night lola?
Hi Lotti :)
m_t-- how's life?
oh hey anj, nice colors.
Hi Everyone, Please enlighten me as to why it won't accept resit? As someone who had to resit maths O Level?
absinthe makes the fawn grow heartier
boreetos, lol! Very nice thank you, but I think he only has eyes for the skinny chick....
I hear you joel... snow should come one night, and one night only, and that is Christmas eve, fall softly and prettily, blanket the ground on Christmas day, and then disappear until the next year. Unless, of course, I'm going skiing, in which case there better be a darn good base + fresh powder!!
Lotti, if you tell me the Big Boss looks like Bill Nye the Science Guy, I will lose my mind.
Boys, the same reason it won`t take "seri" today either!!
done! Thanks for all the help!
stupid skinny chick.
lifes ok. bit boring but i might be getting some straighteners off ebay :D. and i found out that a boy at school does after school gymnastics and is the only boy HAHAHA. the boy is a beephole so its ok to laugh at him
hows yours?
Anyone have the 2 un 7's. Please!
Hi boysaway :) joel, perhaps we should have some when we finish instead of the champers??
alright kids, before i get all tempted and jump in, i gotta go, check back later! Bye!
boreetos, lol! See you later :)
How's it going Lola?
joel, just glancing at chat log and dying over your absinthe comment.
un7-- the fisherman un7 his line. bill was un6 to go skiing, but bugzy fell down so she was un7.
Great thanks boys! And you?
Way to go, Kakamolaka (okay, I'll type it once more. but that's it. seriously)!
hursh-- thanks. a punchline from one of the few made-up jokes of which I'm very proud, lurker.
Lola, these guys don`t understand that (it`s a fact) curvaceous women are better between the sheets!!!
bravo kaka !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
amen lotti...amen. and i dont even pray. ok, sersiously, I'm out.
hm. I hadn't heard that.
lotti, I agree. How can you have fun when you are hungry all the time?? lol!
any really easy clues???
lola-- I finished this a.m. I've never had absinthe. Does it taste like chicken?
*lola pours joel a small glass of her finest absinthe and hands it to him with a wink*
m_t-- clues for anything in particular?
M_T - money doesn't grow on tr*** (plural)
m-t - a lechy old man le*** at you.....
m-t, films come wound on these big round thing called re5/10.
just a common word i will probably know. 5 letters or more. thanks. i feel so boring.
same word as Scouts, also a fishing line (plural)
*joel delicately fishes wink out of glass. Pockets it. sips absinthe. immediately feels warm glow all over.* No, that doesn't taste like chicken.
m_t atilla and his hu4.
Speaking of hungry, its time i had food. Hubby is due home tonight, so i`ll phone him 1st......he might pick up a takeaway!!! See you all tomorrow. If you see Tor give him this(((xxx))) His son is coming home today all being well :)
m-t "yes si***, I'm fine and dandy!" play around with middle consonants and the double vowels at the end for bigger words
joelgee, her homework is for 5 letter words.. ; )
Will do sis, 'bye for now :)
lotti-- if he's going somewhere good for the food pickup, have him pick something up for me. I'll pay when he shows.
m-t: The sun ri5/10 in the East.
m-t, when you've had a very long day, sitting at the pc to do your homework kinda ti*** you out...... :)
Thanks Sis :) Ok Joel!! See ya :)
m_t-- throw off the shackles of homework. Declare yourself a freedom-loving individual. lead the masses to rebellion. let your rallying cry be, "let them eat homework!"
yes, same clue as Scouts, different last letter.
*smacks joelgee's wr*** for corrupting M_T*
is Q in this puzzle for a reason?
tw5-- what certain people do with a baton
thanks for all these clues! i now have 11 words. i cant work out the artilla one though because i have no idea what artilla means. i havent worked out the fine and dandy one either... yet
joelgee, if i did that i would probably get detention
*challenges joelgee to an arm wr***** * (you have to drop the last two letters)
artilla is a large lizard-like monster who ravages Japan occasionally. Wears an incredibly huge beret.
It Atilla The Hu*, you need ot make it a plural
I stand corrected... :)
m_t-- lead the rebellion against detention . . . never mind. too much coffee.
joelgee *looks at him suspiciously*, are you pulling our collective leg?
when people want to see women undress to music, they go to a st5 joint.
M-T, before you get in the bath, you have to st*** off your clothes !
babbler-- I'll let you know when I'm pulling your leg.
joelgee, the girl's on 13, for pete's sake! LOL!
I am shocked at a ti4/4 word! LOL
.... that should read only 13 ..... (typo)
Have to go, be back in a bit :)
Better she should hear this stuff on dark streets from uncouth rapscallions. No. she can hear it here from uncouth rapscallions.
ds - have you got the under wi*** that support them? lol!
yay! i have 15!!! i feel like finding a few more though...
see you in a bit, Lola! :)
Bye Lola :)
is that your homework done, M_T ? Can I go now?
chubby checker helped originate an ancient dance called the tw5.
omg lmao!!! my cat just stretched with her tongue poking out at me!!!
Babbler - Yes, that is a must for me LOL
anything about un 7/48 and the last un 5/14, please?
of course u can go lol! OW!!!!!!!! i just banged my KNEE ON THE DESK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
un 7 - stupider
Right guys, GOTTA go........ new series of Little Britain about to start.......... : D
it's un6 to do something really stupid. It's un7 to do it again.
isnt un only 6 letters?
later, Babbler.
I shall 'woot!'to myself then since i've finished :)
See ya Babbler! and thanks!
omg thanks for telling me babbler!!!!! ive just switched the channel over
the un6 is six letters, but oddly, the un7 has one more.
still here Anj!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT btw, checked your email....... ?? ; )
bye babbler,Anj
good with un 7 but still looking for the second un 5/14.
anj-- a woot to you!!
Well done Anj!
Yay Anj!
sherry: un-tear.
is money really the woot of all evil?
Thanx for the woots :) lol Back in a bit...
I just found this game, and what a lifesaver. I was, indeed, about to expire from boredom.
w00t on ye, lad!
Another life saved by Babble!
editorial comment: stupid word. un5-- to repair a tear or turn back time so something becomes untorn.
Welcome eternashine, and prepare to become addicted!
I agree, Joelgee. That's just a dumb word. Like un-die.
eternashine-- hallelujah and pass the letters! Another soul saved by Babble! Come forth and testify, sister!
Thanks Joelgee and Scotsmom! Got it.
...I second that, submitting the un5/un6 sense of humour bypass words as evidence...
Scoutsmom- Un-die is the singular of undies. "I have only one undie left in the drawer, must do laundry today." ~:oP
place your hands on the holy grid, brethren and cistern! Feel the power. Feel the electricity! Feel the sticky monitor! THe power of the grid passes through y'all. It heals the sick, raises the dead, makes the women go out of their heads!
*starts speaking in tongues*
Halleluia, I am healed! Thank you Babblus, thank you!
thats not nice
*hands bugzy a lot of tissues, just in case*
I'm sorry, shorty. What's not nice?
making fun
Well another hour has gone by and I only found 4 more words! What's up with that!? I have 10 left to find now! JUST 10!
ROFL @ Bugzy
shorty-- if i offended you, i'm sorry. Not so much making fun as playing around.
Babbler - cute icon! Meow! That you?
Ditto, shorty :)
ok thank you
tsm-- i think babbler took off.
Anyone one have the 2nd letter "U" Listing for me?
tsm-- pluralize the u just before that.
tsm-- sorry. misread.
Joel - I guess your right, and did you know you have butterflies coming out of your head? :)
un 5/ 14 un 6/ 24 un 6/ 21 un 7/ 32 un 6/ 21 un 5/ 14 un 6/ 33 un 7/ 48 un 5/ 20 un 6/ 33 ur 4/ 5
unrests
OOPS!
tsm-- what butterflies?
Sorry about that little boo boo that was so bad of me. I wasn't meaning to type there ROFL
everybody leave and stuck me with the check?
LOL t-s-m
TSM : *Oops! That wasn't a valid word.*
Hi all, just checking in... joelgee chubby checker's tw*** is an ancient dance....
yeah, tsm. What bugzy said. You didn't violate the Babble code.
Hi Schroeder!
schroeder-- the clue was for malicious_turnip who is, apparently, 13.
Hi Schroeder :)
joelgee LOL...for a minute there I was feeling ancient
shroeder-- tell me about it.
I know but I still feel stupid! =o)
Just need 3 more words and I'm done: ey, second wr 5/18 and wr 5/22. Clues please!
What the heck is the last SE4 & 5?
se5 is me without 'h'
sherry: the wr5/22 - when your clothes are done in the washer you put them in the dr***. now change the first letter to w.
2nd wr 5/18-- between your hand and forearm
Alrighty folks... I'm outta here! Trying to catch the last few minutes of daylight.... see you soon :)
Bye Bugzy!
Sherry, ey5 - sounds like the opposite of advance (as in to bring up the r4) wr5/18 - plural of the previous wr4/8 wr5/22 - like Scoutsmom said... :)
ey5 - Old Icelandic currency equal to 1 Krona Bye Bugzy!!
tsm-- join the club. I don't have to do anything to feel stupid. You're just *gasp* human.
Hi Everyone!
Bugzy, speed of light huh? Are you going to share the secret???
later, bugzy. don't take any wooden carrots.
hi guys who has the or7?
Thanks, Sherry, got them both now!
Hi Deutsch
oops! babbled it!
how true. per Einstein, she can never catch up with light.
Evening Deutsch :)
ok! Got the wr 5/22. And I guess it's the first wr 5/18 that I'm missing, actually.
Hi Shroeder! You're looking light and fairy!
Hi Deutsch!
Way too late in the day for physics, guys!!! See you :)
Sherry, it joins the hand to the arm :)
Hi Anj, I like your icon!
Hi Robert!
deutsch-- a very stripey evening to you.
I'm back! :) Well done babe! Will you wait for me to finish before we have our slow dance? ;)
Thanks, Joelgee! sherry, from France? Fantastic! Hi Lola and Robert!
wr5/18-- to take something away by force.
later Bugzy :) Don't tell NASA ;) Joel, FTL is not all it's cracked up to be. It doesn't matter how fast light travels, dark is always there first :D
hi d
HolaLola :) of course babe
Deutsch just got back from my dance job at D-Land...trying to keep the spirit while I'm back at the job that pays the bills...:)
Hi deutsch :)
I can't argue with that, anj. what's FTL?
ftl=faster than light and much faster than i am, obviously.
DAncing is good, Shroeder. I'm six words away from doing the dance of the finishers!
Anj, Joelgee: I already got the 'arm' one.
so darkness travels faster than light or is it an absolute?
Sherry - change the vowel in your arm one
Of course!!!! Thanks Schroeder! Thanks to you too guys, I'm little slow on the uptake at times! LOL! But I'M DONE! YEAH!
Woo! Well done sherry :)
Yeah Sherry!!!
Yay Sherry!
*Dances with Sherry* WTG, Sherry. Keep dancing; I'll join you in three words.
Oh! Torgone! Forgot to say hi, so..Hi!
congrats Sherry
Go Deutsch!
Go sherry! Go Sherry!
Hi sherry and congrats! I just poofed back in.
joel, need a re-fill?
torgone-- like your icon.
Hi torgone! Lotti asked me to send you hugs and kisses :) How's your boy??
glass empty. refill good. much thanks.
...in with a late Woot! for Sherry :)
*lola fills joel's glass with green liquid*
*joins Sherry again in the mad dance of excitement* finished!
Thank you, joel. It's a perfect, I say it's a perfect likeness - biggest mouth in the barnyard!
*joel sips and savo(u)rs.*
Yeah Deutsch! T'es trop forte!
Lola? I'm a bit parched myself!
*hovering*
*looks up in sky. mustard dollop lands in eye.*
Yeah Deutsch!!!
Will gladly accept hugs and kisses any day of the week, and send them back tenfold. The dude is doing very well, and should be out of the hospital today.
Deutsch-- yay!!
Joelgee: are you on a trip with the green fairy? lol.
That's great news torgone!!!
*lola pours glass of absinthe for deutsch* Woo! Well done :)
Any clues on the following? UN 6/33 UN 5/14 UN 7/48
thanks, Lola!
un 6/33: unclever/ un 6/33: un +brains
un5 - To mend that which is torn
Hi smeltz :) torgone, that's good news! How you doing? :)
un 7/78: uncleverer
sherry-- that's between me and the green fairy.
Wanted to make this clear but I have the un 6/33 that is the plural of un 5/20
torgone-- Apparently I've missed out on your son's problems, but good to know he's coming home.
joelgee: 'elle te fait tourner la tête!!!' Sorry for the French, can't help it...and the line is sorta famous.
Thanks, guys! I'm doing okay - just a wee tired. Yay Deutsch!
TSM: so you need the unclever one.
All I need for UN's now is un 5/14.... HELP!? lol
Yes, figured it out! Thank you! Sorry stressing myself over getting this one completed! lol
un 5/14: bob is your ****
but I still need that un 5/14 lol
or un 5/14: untear
Toes, think of a green banana - it's un6 (not in this puzzle) so just lop the E off the end :)
joel - he had viral meningitis, but is on the healing path.
YES!
sherry-- okay. she, turns, the head. After that, je me suis perdue(?) just enough french to look incredibly stupid
torgone, Glad to hear all is looking up!
Torgone: I'm glad to know your boy is better. Must have been tough! My friend's brother was in hospital 2 weeks ago for the same reason...
then, that's really great--not that he had viral meningitis--but that he's on the mend. Can you take a deep breath yet?
tsm-- does that YES indicate doneness?
TSM, did you finish?
TA DAAAAAAH. Done.
*pulls harpjane into the circle dance of finishers*
harpjane-- does that ta daaaa done indicate doneness? If so, woohoo!
I am missing 7 and it hurts SO bad I am about to blow up
Yeah harpjane!!!!
Congrats to the people that are done!!! :)
Fortunately the viral variety is not as bad as the bacterial. It was stressful though, but now we're almost back to normal so Yay.
I need 1-t,1-r,1-w,4-s!!!
toes, deep breath babe! lol :)
Joel: it's in one of Edith Piaf's songs: Mon Manege a moi (my own merry-go-round). You make my head turn, you are my own merry-go-round...
Woo! Well done harpjane :)
Congrats Harpjane!
hannah r u playin stil? im stuck :s
okay, tsm. Promise, no blowing up, please.
Tell us TSM! which ones?
I'm Hannah... are you talking to me!? lol
YEA! torgone! *grabs torgone and does a quick jig of relief and happiness*
lol soz im just finishing my h/w and im stuck
bt gud luck 4 completin it :s!!!
Hey Torg, didn't appreciate your lad was unwell. Glad to hear he's on the mend.
I have 7 left to find. I have searched and I have monkeyed. Now I beg for help...ey5/14 , or5 and or7, si6 and the si7 after it, the third ti5/10 and the ti6 after it.....please?? *batting eyelashes*
If some one wants to rock my world and shake the earth I stand on, please give me the second letter listings for the t's r's w's and s's because I cant find the last 7 at all! *cries like a crazy lady*
ey: old icelandic money equal 1 krona (google it)
*hands toes (hannah??) a tissue*
At work, I have to go home now... Will babble in about 10 mins! DONT LEAVE ME! lol
lola the or5 is a type of iris
Toes, do you have st6/18 and st7/28? Think of the metal that sounds like thievery and drop an s in as the 3rd letter :) Then give it a whack with the plural fish :D
*Attempts to jig with Deutsch, trips over own feet, falls on Deutsch, both land in a heap* Yay!
OR 5 -Any of several species of iris having a fragrant rootstock, OR7 plural
Anj - yes darlin I do :)
Torgone, I see you and I went to the same dance instructor! LOL
the clue for st6 and st7 was a word for taking a stroll
no NO NO NO!!!! *beats self with said fish* It's an r, R, cowin' R as the 3rd letter :/ I need Red Bull...
lola: the ti's are concentration of a substance in solution or the strength of such a substance, non-american spelling
lola the si6/18 and si7/28 is what you would call a teacher + a something you would find in a wood but drop the t
ey5 = ey + French "to laugh" - e
Completely self-taught, Deutsch!
Thanks guys, you are all great! torgone, don't speak a single word of french :/
That's very bad Lola!
i too am stuck on 2 s's...the last se5/14 and se4/4...briandead now
sherry, lol! How many afrikaans words do you know? ;)
not only that but cant spell either...there is no hope
se 5/14: me without the 'h'.
Lola: 15A! lol!
Cath! Thank goodness, I thought brian... for the se clue, look at the name of our french babbler. Drop the h
cathb, the 5 is like a drink that dot branning likes without the h! For the 4 use the same first three letters and pluralise :)
the se4/4 is "she se4/4s sea shells" only drop one of the consonants.
torgone-- just googled "viral meningitis". Woof! Damnn straight you're lucky it was bacterial
Hi Babblers. 5 left, all un's ARGHHH
that would be "wasn't bacterial"
scoutsmom-- betcha you can't type that 5 times fast.
Hi swimbo! just ask!
Are you done lola? Hi swmbo!
Diolch one and all''just the t's u's and w's to go...will i finish by 11pm she asks herself...Lola I think i needs a drink
swmbo-- deep breath. no esoteric un words
Evening Swimmy :)
Hi swmbo :) Not yet schroeder! Getting there :)
Thanks Sherry, I'll keep looking for a bit. What is new in here? I have been too busy to chat...
*hands cathb small glass of green liquid*
wr5/22?
Omigod!!! I just noticed the second 'u' on the bottom row!!! No wonder I couldn't get any!!!
Swimbo: everybody seems to be on a trip with the green fairy!
much better thanks Lola..its much better that tea
wr 5/22: spin ****, and change the first letter
Oh! Is THAT the reason I'm not getting any? Wow.
doesnt help the spelling tho
sherry-- only rumor and hearsay. Another famous French saying, "la plume de ma tante".
lola, for the ey5 - Extend your arms out behind you, bring your hands down and grab your r_ _ _ end. Spell that word a little differently.
wr5/22 rhymes with what you put your clothes in when they're done in the washer.
what?
torgone-- shouldn't she stand up first?
the green fairy?
smeltzdog-- what, what?
smeltz, did you get it?
tw7,8?

mas - there's another wr5 -- think you're missing the one meaning to take forcefully (it's 1st one of the 4, if that helps)

A male, I suppose, since he's tan? I know orange cats are almost always male, and I'm thinking tan is also gene specific to males. He's gorgeous. I have two: a black cat, Sophie, and a ginger tabby, Malka.
Do you HAVE to use the Qu as a Q and U? can I just use it as a Q? If so I'd get a well known qu5 word
can anyone help with the es word? i am banging my head against the wall
The last to ti's, tuva, sound like tighter, but are spelled differently. It is what is in your blood to demonstrate that you are immune to specific illnesses.
double it up and stop banging...
mab - yes, he's male ... and is the biggest lap cat I've ever seen. He's always curled up sleeping between me and keyboard, which makes playing Babble and typing somewhat of a challenge!
Keeps your wr6 warm, though, Cathy.
thank you, that completes it for me... now I have laundry to do! many thanks all!
aknitter -- I did too on that one. Don't know a definition, but just double it, and you're there. Hate to see you bang your head anymore :)

ah ah ah let's play nice. And I'll pretend to root for YOUR team when their turn comes....
GW, I was pretty much the same when younger, but some friends opened my eyes to the world beyond books (and swivelled my impressionable young head toward sweaty young guys in shorts!).
Hey Y'all. How is everyone tonight?
ohrom!
Somehow, the sweaty young guys image just doesn't do it for me ;D
hi ohro
Hey, ohrom!!
Hey Charm, Doxy, Greywolf! Nice to see everyone again.
Always a good time hooking up with friends, ohrom!
GW: was it just me or were you curiously missing last night? Given your sci-fi interests, I can only assume that you were temporarily abducted by the space shuttle on startrek. : ) just kidding.
finished in an hour. Anyone need help before I go?
No, ohrom - nothing so complex, unfortunately I ended up pulling a 12 hour day between two stores yesterday -- as a result, I got on late
GW--um, actually LIGHT triggers the hibernation and migration patterns of most animals. Much more so than temperature. harp "know it all" jane
harpjane -- I know that, too ;D I was just getting a poke in at MAMA since I couldn't last night
12 hour day? Tell your boss next time that you can't because there are people expecting you to be in the babble chatroom. hahaha just kidding. 12 hour days bite. I just got home about a half hour ago. I feel your pain.
OK. Well, since I'm full of useless trivia tonight--try this one: the Hollywood sign is for sale on eBay. I'm not making this up. Go check.
I always work 12 - 13 hour days, no choice
Thanks for the moral support, ohrom I made up for it though -- I finished the grid when I got home adn then came back on after the flip and finished today's before I went to sleep :)
Ouch, doxy -- what do you do?
Any clues out there for the si's? I have the father, his plural, the father with the double letter and his plural. I only need a si 5/10 and the si6/18 please!
labor and delivery nurse. Just got finished with three straight days. Very busy days too.
ccc - take the father with the doubles and drop one consonant, but keep the double vowel
I feel like I've been run over by a mac truck
thanks GW, I was having trouble with those also :)
Thanks Grey, couldn't have finished without you. Anyone want a clue before I call it a day?
cc-you know that si with a double letter? Make it two sets of double letters and you're on your way!
need help with ey5
doxy -- I take my hat off to you!!! Having been through a rough time with the birth of my daughter and seeing how the nurses maintained a positive outlook regardless of everything, made the whole experience that much easier Thank you for all your hard work !!!
doxy, try ey + the phonetic spelling for rear
thank you ccc
doxy1 - I found the neonatal icu nurses to be wonderful people after our son was born. Long hours, tearful & worried parents, and tiny lives depending on you. There's a special place in heaven for you!
thanks GW. Sometimes it can be very rewarding, sometimes just hard work
CCC - you are welcome Congrats on finishing!
Between ti 4/4 and ho 5/16, this is another one of those naughty puzzles.
this is my relief from the stress of work. In my job I'm responsible for not just 1 life, but 2. Most of the time it's not bad, but we have been slammed because of the full moon. We have a 10 bed labor unit and have had almost all the beds full for the last 3 days.
Doxy: forgive my ignorance but what does the moon have to do with baby birthing? Just curious.
usually, a lot of women have their water break when there is a full moon or the barometer drops, or go into labor. Don't know the connection, but its true.
ohrom -- there is a statistical linkage between the occurence of the full moon and baby's being born
That is cool/wierd trivia. : )
things go crazy in emergency rooms also. It really affects the people with mental problems, too.
There was a show on one of the health channels where a FL midwife claimed it was related to the moons impact on water and the tide
I think that is a good relation.
(We live in hurricane alley here.) When a hurricane approaches, women near term are moved into hospitals because they tend to give birth then. The theory seems to be that the change in external air pressure causes an imbalance with the pressure within and the water breaks. I'm sure there's a very nice scientific explanation....
That is interesting. I knew that the moon caused the ocean waves but I didn't know that it did anything else. My friend is a NYC cop and he swears that the worst time to work is during a full moon. He said that there are a lot more bar fights and domestic disturbances, etc..
you're right about the other wards as well, doxy There is a reason why when things go haywire, people will always claim that the full moon is imminent
when you think about it, our bodies are mostly water. That makes sense when you think about the moon affecting the tides.
As a tried and true New Yorker, I never look up because I don't want to be mistaken for a tourist. I had no idea that there was a full moon tonight. : ) lol
doxy - I think you just hit the nail on the head :D
full moon was actually tuesday night, it usually affects us for a few days either before or after
Actually, ohrom - the moon is currently waning, full moon was Monday - Wednesday
Can anyone help me with my last two, pretty please? ti 5/10 & ti 6/18
Tuesday was the true full moon, however traditionally three days are observed
Really, GW? Why?
ti 5/10 are the things that a car rolls around on.
Hi guys -- anyone got a clue for the es?
ti5/10 - chemistry term (looks like a fr. word) "Concentration of a substance in solution." ti6/18 is pl.
thanks charm :)
es4/4 - pl. "s"
Dragonflies - ti5 is an Old French spelling for the name of a book, only one letter is different from the English spelling the ti6 is the plural
thank you Charm!
welcome-welcome.
ohrom - now you have hit the limit of my full moon trivia ;) If I had to guess, most likely because the day before and the day after the full moon, the difference in shape is imperceptible to the naked eye
another thanks and I am done! ZZZZZ
Congrats, Dragonflies!
may i have help on the st 6/18 and the st 7/28 thanks, Claudia
OK, GW. Fair enough. I have a trivia homework assignment from tonight. : ) Way to go, Dragonflies! Have a good night everyone. I have stuff in the oven right now and I am going to start burning things if I don't log off of the babble chatroom. : ) See you all tomorrow.
night ohrom
nite-nite, ohrom.
Take care, ohrom-- see you tomorrow!
st6/18 - "To trail along; to saunter or be drawn along, carelessly, swaying in a kind of zigzag motion." st + movie **** (r4/4). (Do they still make movies on r4/4? Do theaters even have projectors where you change r4/4?)
spatialbean -- st6/18 - take the fishing re4/4 and add the abbrev for street in front st7 is pl
good question charm.
need help with tw7 and tw8
doxy - build off the tw5 (to spin)
tw7 & 8 are based on the tw5/18. TW7 is one who tw5. TW8 is pl.
tw7 - one who tw5's tw8 - pl
thanks GW
didnt get that hurshy, xed out by accident
and thanks charm :)
Don't forget Charm, doxy -- We seem to be a package deal tonight, she just posts faster than me :D
GW - blame it on insomnia.
I'm blaming it on the muscle relaxer I took when I got home.
Why blame it on anything? Blame has such a negative connotation...
attribute it to my current inability to fall asleep....
I'm having fun!!!
ok, I'm excusing my brain tonight
with my insomnia? That's not nice, GW!
Have to leave now, folks. Nite, GW, Doxy, Ohrom, all. Until the morn....
finished
oops, chat lag!!! AAAAAAHHHH!! evil evil chat lag!!! I would never derive pleasure from your suffering, Charm :)
nite charm
Have a good night, Charm! Sleep Well (once you get there ;) )
Morning babblers everywhere. Just got up, thought I'd give it another bash before starting work. So far have st7/28 tw7/44 & un7/48 what are the 7 's I'm missing?
still need 30 words
These are all the 7's for any who are wondering (tip of the hat to Cmith from this AM) or 7/28 plural of or 5/10 (flowering plant) si 7/28 plural of si 6/18 (title for gentleman - alternate spelling) st 7/28 plural of st 6/18 (saunters) tw 7/44 baton spinner tw 8/60 plural of tw 7/44 (baton spinners) un 7/32 plural of un 6/21 (unwinds) un 7/48 less cleverer
Ishutt or 7/28 un 7/32 st 7/28
only one left, final st6/21
Thanks GreyWoulf.
Thanks Thanks those who gave me clues, got em!
doxy - take the 5/12 and add a consonant to make it a past tense
thank you, thought I had tried that one. Got them all.
You're welcome, boatierra & spatialbean Congrats doxy!!! Does this mean you are going to go your well earned rest now?
Well, I think I'm off to bed soon. Have a good rest of the day. Thanks for the help and the chat.
still having problems getting the or7 & si7 any other clues?
Just have to finish watching ER
Night all.
Sleep well, doxy (*Hug and a neck massage*)
or5 - Any of several species of iris having a fragrant rootstock, especially a variety of the hybrid Iris germanica. or7 is plural
All of the si words build off of the si4, you need to vary the number of the last two letters to get the rest
there are also plurals involved This is such a confused hint -- sorry :)
one example - yes (si*+double vowel)
just need the or now. can't figure this iris!!!
just monkeyed it. thanks all
Ishult - if you Google the definition it should give you the answer -- or just combine the or with the flower and take out the first i
off to woek now finished on 75
So what else do you need?
Ah, work -- the Babbler's bane! :) Have a great day, Ishult!
Is there anyone out there?
I cannot for the life of my figure out the st 6/7 combo. I saw the clue for saunters, but I'm getting nowhere with that either. A little help would appreciate a little help. Thanks.
np, boatierra -- did you see my clue at 10:08?
need a clue for er 4/4 the 2nd one please
2nd er = er + two sequential consonants (p, q, r, *, *)
Thanks again GreyWoulf. I've never seen that word before. No wonder I had so much trouble.
I have to admit I monkey typed it myself :)
I looked up the the st 7/28 in the Thesaurus and it gives shlep as a synonym. A bit more sluggish than saunter.
nice clue, thanks much
yw, nava
boatierra - the def gives me the impression of an amiable drunken stagger
Although the word out of context sounds like a type of dance
Any more clues needed? Anybody...Anybody... Buelle r?...
es 4/4 ???
es4 = plural 'es'
i am learning so many new words playing this game. i love it! thanks for the clues. i'll catch on here soon
nava -- you're doing fine :) it's all about having fun... the boost to your vocabulary is secondary
Hi All, GW where is everybody tonite? Maybe everyone finished early and went to bed. I'm up for the new one to come...
thanks i appreciate it
Hey chic! Yeah, pretty much all the regulars either haven't been on since I got here or they turned in as soon as they finished I finished this AM, but have been hanging around to help any who might need it ;)
(*whispers to self*) i have no life...
Yea, I finished earler today also. I kinda miss the jacuzzi party.
Especially since it's so COLD outside!! Yesterday, PA had a high of 76 degrees, and now its subfreezing! BRRRRrrrr!
GW, so what part of PA are you from? I have relatives out in Jersey Shore.
I live in Lansdale, about 45 mins/an hour west of Philly. I've been here just over a year -- originally from Long Island -- check my bio for a little more detail
We're getting colder at night here in the 50's but it was 80 today in Tucson. This is my favorite time here.
chic - you're in Tucson? I'm in Phx. I love Tucson. I miss it and UofA.
I lived in Camden while I was attending Rutgers South..back in the sixties...did you go to Woodstock?
I love this time of year, it's the abruptness of the change that bothers me. Long Island being surrounded by water had a more reasonable transition into the cold -- here it's like flipping a switch
Boat did you go to U of A? Gee, it's not like Phoenix is that far from here.
clue for un 7/32
Unfortunately, I was born a little too late for the first Woodstock and when they tried to revive it, I had neither the money or insanity to attend :D
could i have a clue for the st 6/21 please
nava un + wind, make it plural
pooh2 - take the 5/12 and add a consonant to make it a past tense
Well, Woodstock was a total hoot. I made it to Altamont too. That was evil.
nava - un + re4/4 for the 6, then plural
Thank you GW!! I have just completed my first grid :)
chic - I am envious...
chic, i don't get your clue.
Congrats, Pooh2!
Hooray for pooh2!!!!!
i am so sorry. i really needed un 7/48
nava, go with GW's clue; he's more experienced than I am.
my clue was for the 7/28 as well un 7/48 = less cleverer
un7/48 - even lacking less wisdom
Hi All - I'm a newbie. Just registered!
After Woodstock, a friend and I travelled across country in her VW Bus. It took a month for us to get to San Francisco. I've wanted to write a novel about our trip... Maybe it's still coming...
Hey ,welcome Lickety Split. It's usually more crowded than this ...
Sorry, folks, my connection is acting hinky, I'm not ignoring any of you
Welcome to the fold, LicketySplit! Key things to know -- In the friends of Babble box to the right is the link to Babblers Anonymous. CLick on that, then on the General topic, and you will see an entry for the Daily Stats of the puzzle. BrandyJack is a very nice person who lists a total word count and point value for the current grid. He then breaks it down by number of words by letter, as well as a two letter list which gives the first two letters plus length of word and point value
Hi all GW are you lonley tonight?
A little bit, Schroeder :)
Schroeder, most of the regulars aren't here tonight, so I have been manning the clue board for those who might need it, but it's been VERY quiet...
Seems like everyone finished this one! Everyone must be lurking in the background waiting........
Maybe.... The other day, Smeltzdog and I were speculating as to how many others were playing while we were chatting since we know that there are over 2500 registered players :D
hi all, just snuck in...finished early on in the a.m. and patiently waiting by the clock.. tick tock tick tock for the next 25 squares of glorious letters... I'm thinking a big one tonight, simply because work is busy.. must be a full moon... jen... note to self *stop babbling* Btw: GW that's my fave pic of you ^icon^ :P
hi GW - just arrived home from the office - i've been missing you all this week - maybe it will be an exciting weekend! i can't wait to get back to the game words and out of this legal jargon
I didn't realize there was that many babblers!! I'm sure most are in the closet, so to speak, and don't do much chatting To be honest I'm a little afraid of what the next one is going to look like....300 words? Hi Jenwould
Hi jenwould! Did you see my howling puppy icon? BTW, full moon was on Tuesday
no... GW missed the lil guy... Full moon Tuesday? Makes sense, my line of work is all about delayed reactions :-)
