New puzzle!
Pfui!!! Missed by 3!!!
sry, i thought that puzzle was esp. difficult
Looks like a big one!
harpjane, looks like you dressed up today
Glad you noticed!
gettin' with the theme!
uh oh, it's a doozy, folks
'S OK, mlaurel -- it's about the joy of the hunt, not the finish --- besides, if I had been able to log on 15 mins earlier I would have finished ;)
325 words!!!!! Thankfully I am off work tomorrow ;D
:) it's like a bigger boggle without the noise. :) i'm having a difficult time because my cats are on my desk and one is on the mouse
Don't know if I have time for this with all the Christmas hoopla starting up!
LOL -- mine likes to lie across my wrist :D
they think they are helping. :) when i'm on the laptop, they try to lay across the keyboard and the biggest one is 17 pounds so he's quite large
I have three -- one is 20, the next is about 18 and the last is prob 14 (pounds, that is) -- the 18 also thinks she is still small enough to be a shoulder percher
i see LSU's included . . . Geaux tigers . . . heh heh heh
brb -- time to rub wifey's back Hi, C-nan!
lol! i have 4 cats, 17lbs, 15, 13 & 11. thankfully, they are not shoulder perchers.
Hi everyone.
Hello! Very late today. Ooops! Aww GW - just three? :/
G9/72 G10/91
Hello all :)
HI :)
putting my 2 cents in regarding my children. 4 cats. biggest CoCo...solid white boy with big blue eyes coming in at a whopping 21.8 then Chandler, Alex, and Mocha and finally a cocker spaniel named Chance.
And I am back! Yes, zubie -- only three -- and two of them were not planned -- Twitch is the mom and we got here when she was just 6 weeks old. She's a magpie (b&w with no specific pattern). My housemate got a orange tabby a few months later and well -- since niether was fixed...
jenwould - CoCo sounds gorgeous, though pudgy :)
jenwould, i bet they are adorable! I wish my cats were larger although everyone tells me that they are too big. lol
GW - You're confusing me. Did you mention 'three' in two contexts? I saw you say: " Pfui!!! Missed by 3!!!" What do you mean by 'two were not planned'? Just got in a few minutes ago.
mlaureli... yes all cuties all have wonderfully distinct personalities. The biggest is also our biggest chicken. Cats are great. Oh and the cocker isn't so bad either. The oldest is 12 youngest 8...
Hi gw
GreyWoulf, my biggest cats name is Pudgie. He was tiny when we got him, but he ate so much he looked like he had swallowed a baseball, so we called him Pudge. :)
Cats! *lightbulb moment* :D
zubie -- missed the last board by 3 -- got started very late tonight and the two that were not planned are my other two cats, Meeper and Creeper -- who are both lovely torties
LOL, zubie mlaurel - Twitch got her name because her tail has a white flag at the end (black tip, 3" white band, then black again) and she expresses her emotions by twitching her tail, making the flag bounce
that is great. I love animals, such personality.
Cute cats :D GW - nice names, too! :D
GW.. I've got a tortie too. The only princess of the animals, Mocha. I like everyone's pet names... very cute.
updated my icon but can anyone tell who it is?
zubie - I'll include pics when I send you the snow pics ;) BTW, last nights snow is already gone, but we have more coming tomorrow
Hi Toes! Looks like Marilyn Monroe, but so tiny.
Mab! Hurray!!! Yes, it is Miss Monroe!
I just have Toby the cat. He's 7 and about 15 lbs. He's a good boy. He like ice cubes.
I love pictures of Marilyn. There is such a poignant quality to many of them, something heartbreaking.
Mab, I do agree. Monroe as well as Hepburn and a few others will always have those classic pictures and that classic look as well
Hooray! Thanks, GW! Gone? :s 88 words. I'd feel happy except that I am thinking that the only reason why I got so many so fast is because the grid is huge. I'm even afraid to ask how many words today!
I think I might pay money to look like Audrey Hepburn. She was exquisite.
325
What I love about pets is what they end up using as toys -- some cats use icecubes, my go crazy chasing the rings from gallons of milk, -- anyone who says that pets are useless has never truly observed them and their personalities
gw, my cat adores milk cap tops... every time we pull out the sofa bed there's like 100 under there (same with the fridge)
Hepburn even had perfect skin! Although I hear her accent was completely fake and she also had some sort of eating disorder. But Lord was she beautiful!
exactly, LeslieAnn! --LOL
That high profile will drive you batty I am sure. Not even a movie out would be without pictures
325??! Thanks, Une. Yikes!
Alright all. Off to bed. Work tomorrow bright and early! :) Good luck with the puzzle!
I expect so -- fame can be burden, it would be difficult to not be neurotic. Constantly scrutinized.
GW Toby loves those rings and twist ties. One day I bought him a stuffed baby toy at the dollar store and he reached up and got it and took off. I wondered how he knew it was for him to just take off with it like that. Stinker.
Morning all...
Sleep Well, Toe!
Night Toes (you're in the puzzle). Sleep well.
Hey Debs -- another monster today :)
Morning Ice... see you found the biggies already...lol
lol :) yes I saw that... night!
Aww I aint a monster wolfie...lol
lol, Debs - you know I meant the grid ;D
I knowwwwwwww.... well I am a 3ft 2" 20stone and sit on church roofs for a living so I wouldn't have been that offended..lol
how many words today please
a/9 60
big ol' 325, shorty
shorty...325
WOW..... thank you
lots ans lots ans lotsssssssssssss....325 <faint>
Hi shorty
But big words are easy...
Hi GW
Yucky grid. :D
Knock knock! Anyone out there?
Hey zubie...here, but not for long. Just trying to get 100 so tomorrow won't drive me crazy...
I'm here, just sucked into the hunt... and utterly amazed and annoyed that with 155 words found already I haven't found anything with more than 6 letters!
There's a c7 I've found, GW. Hi Norad.
s 7/28 want a clue let me know
i would love a clue!
me too GW, just hit 100 and nothing over 6...clue for the c7 zubie? Hello spatialbean, I'd love that s7 clue too.
found a 9/60..felt pretty good, i never find the big words!
Glad to know I am not alone, Norad :)
Good job, nava!
thanks, actually, my husband found it, we are dong the puzzle together tonight. but still...it's awesome!
10/91 is a plural nava
nava - it still counts :)
way to go nava (and husband), can you give us a clue?
Norad - The c7 sounds like 'c------ station' without a consonant; and is plural. It has a c6 to go with it. Think "middle"
an9/60 is a plural for pronghorns, impala's etc.
amd a9/60 and a/8 45 are within the 10 letter word
another word for caulk
oooh, 325 words! *quickly changes plans for the day* morning all :)
debs...what are you referring to? to the a 9/60? i thought that was the plural form?
got any clues for that a 9/60?
Thx, brandyjack -- it's amazing how they jump off the grid once you know wher to start :D
Thanks, Debs
G'morning, sherb!
adda aletter on the end of the 9...
10/91 - what letter does it start with?
thx for the clues everyone, that should use up my time for tonight... :)
ga
norad...small island within the great salt lake
se 7/32
Spatial - a clue for that s 7?
thanks Jack and everyone
thanks for the hints everyone -- now I feel better ;D
the s 7 is another word for caulk
Got it. Thanks, spatial. Is that a ga10?
brandyjack's stats are posted.
Me, Zubie? I'm confused
Sorry, spatail. Deb - is the 10 a ga?
zubie...there is a ga/9 and a ga/10...they work with the an/8 and an/9...thanks for the clues everybody!
Thanks, Norad. Didn't know that that was a word. :D
me either, monkey typed...
okay, i'm still not getting the ga 10. any other clues?
anyone there?
nava: don't overthink the ga10. If you have the an9, just try the obvious thing.
I've got it, and I wasn't even looking for it... :)
oh my gosh, i was spelling it wrong this whole time. even though i spelled the a9 and a10 right, i kept miss spelling the ga's. it getting late!
Gotta go -- grid is blurring, and I keep getting "Oops! You've already used that word." Must be time to recharge the old noggin -- only 130 left to find and I haven't hit the 2nd letterlist yet --yay me!! :D (*hugs for everyone*) TTFN
Nite GreyWoulf.....
bye GW, sleep well :) *hugs*
morning tbear :)
nite gw
'Night GW :)
is anyone having technical difficulties? like system slowing like the other night?
Yep. Tech difficulties here in Atlanta.
bit slow, nava...hung for a minute a while ago...
yeah, like refresh is taking forever and then once it's done, all the letter wern't there. then one time, my list was gone and 0 was recorded, even though i was still logged in.
hey munner :) how goes it?
Good morning tbear.
Trouble getting to sleep tonight so here I am. How are you?
Hi tbear!
Well, 'mornin' tbear.
I'm well, thanks...day off work today, lots planned, but got to find 325 words somehow :)
Hey...mab..just did the 3 minute panic station to get my lazy teenage girls out of the door....AND they've missed the school bus again....I give up! How are you?
Just put in Gentle and was indisnant when not accepted...Lol
indignant
LOL gentle is the first word I saw in the grid
slowing down, time for toast...
Then there's ASAP and OPEC :)
i put in gentle too
have any of you received the email that is all spelled wrong? each word begins and ends witht he correct letter, but the middle of the word is jumbled. but they say our brain can read word fine as long as the words begin and end correctly.
Maybe we all need to take some n/4
i know, i stay up so late playing this game each nite. it's after midnight here on the west coast. i'm gonna be tired tomorrow.
Munner,so what's my excuse I just got up!!!!
I've seen that one, and it's fascinating. The one I like is the list of color words written in color, but the word doesn't match the color it's written in. Little kids do fine, but it's a struggle for readers!
yeah, it's mind boggling
tbear, with three teenage girls, you need NO excuses!
Thx Munner...but pls make that 2...altho normally have at least 2/3 more, especially on weekends..
Sorry, tbear, guess I was thinking of the days when I had 3 teenage boys.
nibble nibble, sniff sniff sniff !! :D
hey babbler.
Hey Babbler....Mab?? where are you?
morning Babbler :) you're eating toast, and you've got a cold?
LOL!!!! :D hi guys! nooooo, not a cold or a sniffle..... today's theme is Hamsters! That was my hamster impression! lol! : )
Munner...you know where I'm at then....struggling to maintain a sense of humour....
lol, very good!! I see the Holy Carrot's sprouted wings...nice ;)
lol!! thanks Sherb! ......but have you refreshed to see my drawing for today? *refresh*
Hi Babbler :D
HI Zubie!! :D
good drawing...I'm impressed :) I love the themes, but I draw the line at hamsters...I'm the London skyline today
...or the bit of it you can see from my front window...
Hi everyone :)
hi lot
hi lotti :)
I wondered if you took that pic, Sherb! I know your neck of the woods vaguely (kite flying, as you do!), so I recognised the view! :D Great pic!
HI lotti!!!! :D
Well today my son is off school ill!! I`m wondering if he`ll ever get chance to play a shepherd...... he was ill the year before last when he was cast as a shepherd in reception class :(
awwww, sorry to hear that, Lotti. When's the show?
sadly, pic is courtesy of Google...my puny little 2MP digital camera isn't up to the challenge...
I think my camera is 2mp as well! I only got it to help sell stuff on ebay..... but now I fancy a new camera! : )
lotti - apparently, there's a big run on teatowels in the shops at this time each year... for the shepherd's...
LOL Sherb....why doesn`t that suprise me!!!! :) Babs..tomorrow till Thursday
awwww, that's such a shame. he won't be well in time. : (
Hi Lotti. One in one out keep moving. Are you OK.Or have you started coughing?
macadam...lotti's not allowed to cough...she's a mother, you should know mothers aren't allowed to be ill... :)
I should have known better,I apologise profusely.;)
Hi mum..i`m fine (touch wood) just shattered, up with Lewis till 2am. He sounds like a little dog bless him, the kind of cough that always makes him sick though....... fortunatley that hasn`t happened yet!!!
Halfway finished--going to try to go to sleep again. g'nite all
good going!! sleep well, Munner : )
Poor lad.He has my sympathy.I hate being sick.Give him a hug from me.((((((((((((xx))))))))))))) )))))

Nite Munner...

almost 1am signing out with 141. goodluck with grid and nite to all.
nite cybernan!!! :D
Morning all. Just started. Goot a quick 120 words, but things slowing down now. What new in the big bad world?
Am I alone here? :o

Morning folks
Hi Yoink :)
morning Yoink :)
This one looks pretty bad today :/
morning yoink
Mmmm....I wasn`t gonna bother putting any words in, but i just couldn`t resist.......as usual!!!
when i saw over 300 words I very nearly didn't bother to start. then my hand started to shake from withdrawal, so i thought, what the hell!!!!!!!
wish i had listened to my instincts now
The words hook, line and sinker spring to mind :)
I probably shouldn't have started either, I'll never finish it I bet. I won't be able to get a real start at it till later too, it's tricky here at work
Whats your job Yoink???
I'm currently in accountancy, at least till the end of january then I seek new pastures
Oh right......maths, yuck!!! Is that in Wigan ??
Yep, just outside the town centre. Actually surprisingly maths knowledge isn't that necessary, computers and calculators work it all out for you.
LOL...yes, i hear you don`t need maths in banks either. They work the same way :) I`m on a return to learn maths course at the mo.... not sure about the GCSE, that scares me :/
Yoink!!! (((((( xx)))))
working through the alphabet backwards today (why do I make it even harder?)...210 still to find...off out for a bit...back later :)
Later Sherb :)
I always work backwards! see you later : )
can't beleive there's a 10 out there. 140 down and I havn't even spotted a 7 word yet!!!!!!!!!
I`ve got the A8 and 9 :)
Hi ! ((((Babbler)))) How's things?
great thanks. you? did you fall asleep at your desk yesterday morning? we were all yelling for you to wake up! :D
Wow, just found the dear (deer) words too!!!!!!
I think I did, managed to crawl to the sofa at some point though, that's where I woke up, and where I spent most of the day :/
awwwwww!! whatyerlike??! :D
Oh well. Anyway, gotta go, just popped in to say hello and see what the grid is like today, be back later.
have a good day, Yoink! see you later : D
Thanks, bye! :)
Later Yoink :)
Yay.....100 words and that includes all the A`s :) Better go and dose boy child up with medicine, see you all later :)
Good going!! see you later, Lotti. : )
i suck
morning/evening~~~
I'm alone here! :o
Hi Zubie, long time!!! just passing through LOL
I'm here Zubie!!
I'm here Zube! I just had to multi-task. Back now! :D
I adore your icon, Fmitch!! hi judi!! : )
Hi Judi! Hi Mitch!
now now, Hong Kong Phoeey - you're the number one super guy!!!! :D
Hi all thanks Babbler
Ok Babbler - as punishment, you can give me a clue for ea4/10. I just looked at the stats now (213 and stuck) and I've no clue about the ea. :/
Good morning everyone. I take it we're in rodent mode?
LOL!!!! Zube, I've only got 77 words!! (roflol!!) but let me see............... hmmmmmmmmm :/ *concentrates*.........
hi Eva, Atalante suggested hamsters last week, as a joke, and everyone Ayed it!!! lol! so hamsters it is! :D
zubie, your commanding officer might tell you to stand at e___
Just popped in to have a look - Then I saw 325 words - not sure if I am even going to start today, I don't have that many hours in a day (hubby complains if I spend to long on "that thing!")
zube, you are doing really well, I've got to 120 very quickly but the rest will have to be done later :)
zubie- only looked for ea10 when you asked. found straight away- ae+ vowel = bog letter
hah!!! got the ea4/10 !!
149 came quickly but now hitting a wall.
errr - big letter
I wasnt going to start either, ex wren, but then I found myself entering a word.......... once you're in, you're in! : )
1/2 done - time for lunch
Sorry zubie - wrong ea of course!
zube, it looks kinda french.......
zubie-have it now - think french liquids
I'll let you know later babbler, We are going into town now, to try to complete our Christmas shopping. Nightmare, what do you buy for teenage boys?
dunno ex wren :/ I suppose book tokens / cd vouchers is cheating?
Thank you! Got it at last! [Glares at the word] I was trying to make it accept a letter which it was determined to refuse!
I love the g9 & 10, they are so typical of babble!
Didn't even know that those were words, Mitch! :D
me neither!
just got the 8s and 9s. I saw a clue earlier, not to overthink the 10........... so I didn't, and there it was!! :D
if only the other 192 words were as fun to find :(
zubie-did you get my regular email yesterday? No pressure to write back, just wondered if it arrived.
agreed, Fmitch, I'm working backwards, and I've been on the to's for ages. that first one..... ugh! :/
How neat is this? 214 words for 2140 points! ;D
I'm at 101 for 1091 points!! ;D
:D That looks good, too, Babbler. It's rather a pity for me to find more words and spoil the beauty of the 214/2140! ;D
;D, yeah, I just ruined my little beauty too....... but looking forward to when I reach your score! : )
you know you will zube cos you are gonna finish!!!
Eva - just saw it now. I'll probably be replying only tomorrow. Is that ok?
I broke all my rules today as I usually won't do a grid that is over 200 but I thought "what the heck"!!
zubie-of course it's okay!
Rather, Mitch. But I'm stuck on 214 and have sort of lost the fire to look at the grid with --- with -- what's the word I want?
snap, so did I, Fmitch!! :D
alacrity? enthusiasm? eagerness? excitement?
interest? without yawning?
look for the other 111 words zubie and you may find the one you are missing LOL. Maybe it's time for a break and then you will come back to the grid with fresh eyes.
Lol, Babbler! Yes, any of those will do. :D 111 more words, MItch? SEE? It's pretty even THAT way! If I find another word, I'll spoil BOTH totals! ;D
Does anyone have more clues for the long c?
we almost have Al Capone.
'fraid not Eva, am working at the other end of the alphabet at the moment
you soooooooooooo need a break, Zube!! LOL! go on, go get a cup of tea and admire your numbers before you have to spoil them again! :D
Long c? I've got a c7, is that the one you mean, Eva?
Notice: Ruined both totals by finding a word! :D
got the c's! Finally understood the station clue.
got the big c7. (how many are there?)
Missing the first as 4 and the as 6's . Any hints?
babbler, I only have the ce6 & 7 so far. Haven't checked Brandyjack's lists so don't know how many there are.
I've only got the snakes, Zube..... sorry, working on my t's and doing a general sweep at the same time. :/
thanks, Eva, I decided to break my rules and got Brandyjack's list ready........ tsk tsk, I know... :/
the only a6 I have is an as6 which has to do with something being at a tilt.
Lately I've been trying to make this less work and more relaxed for myself, so am pretty much just doing what I can do easily, without looking a lot of stuff up - have to moderate the obsession some.
ok, zube, you'll be a-glad when you a-find the a-s word.....
zubie, the as6 builds from an l4 and an s5
o4 fruits, made to make yr mouth water.... :)
Thanks, Eva. Babbler, still looking for the one you mentioned.
so you're still bobbing on the ocean of the grid......?
tee hee ; )
No just woke up AGAIN
I am - tried to close the window, did - and then came back! [Whacks head]
soz, tbear, that was for Zube! :D
thanks babbler!

No, Babbler. My brain's not working :/ There are snakes here too?
Could use some 8 clues - have only the gazelle. Also a list of the 7's?
*tickles tbear with a feather*
I keep seeing a gator! :s
Hi guys! I haven't got time to play today, so I'm just going to pop in and chat, and point you all to my new thread in babanon: http://p105.ezboard. com/fbabblersanonymousfrm2.sho wMessage?topicID=32.topic (ta ke out the space) :)
zube - think cleopatra and then think Columbus.....

Atalante, followed the link - great idea!
Must stop, must stop, must stop, must stop........
How many letters, Babbler?

hi Poo's Mom! see you later, tbear? have a good day! :D
Aww Babbler! And I was searching for an as6! :D *Goes off to search for an a4* What a4 is that, by the way? Second letter?
*chuckles*.... they're both as, zube! :D
for the as6's - use your S words..... I got them from the fab clues below.... : )
Doh, Babbler! Of course! Can you tell that I'm babble brain-fogged? :/ Got just one as4, one as5 and an as 6
there are only 5 as words, so you're almost there. (there's only one as5)
Thanks everyone for the interventions. I am now going to sign off (really and truly!) and get on with life.
instructions - move cursor to log out hit enter see you later, Eva!! :D
Good Morning, just woke up and everything is a little blurry. Can anyone explain to me how Brandyjack gets the grid so fast?
Yes! Got four. Missing the first as4! *Sigh* I thought that babble was supposed to be FUN? :D This is like an exam! ;D
so you're STILL bobbing on the ocean.............. ?
Hi Marc, BJ has a program that generates the stats.
marc, he's got a program that does it all for us. : ) hello :D
DOH! GOT it now, Babbler! Good that I didn't sink ;D in there! Tch tch!

Hello again everyone
hi yoink!
Hi Poo's mom :)
Do the first 4 letters of the to6/24 and to7/36 start with the first to4/4 what is at the end of your feet. if not I need a clue.
Can't help you Marc, am missing those t's too.
Got both thanks
I had the first three letters right then add what you close a bottle with
Doh, pass me the fish!!! Thanks for the clue.
Back again - had to leave for a while.
Hi zubie!!! I'm not really here, crossed the half way mark a while ago....
On 236, Mitch and considering giving up!
Hello everyone, how are you all today?
LOL I know the feeling!
Just 135 here so far, long long way to go
Hi mummy!
Hi Mummy :)
hello everyone..... 146 here !
You know I can never be bothered to look at the message list, can you tell me how many words today please?
What's the weather like in your part of the world? anybody got any snow?
325 mummy
Way to many words today - 325. Hi all!
Thank you Karys, got relatives arriving shortly so may not have much time to babble today...
Hi Karys and FMitch :)
oohhh....why isn't 'casual' there.....its a lovely word !!
Hello every1. Looks like loads of fun packed into one little grid ^_^
Time to go again, bye everyone
I hope your leaving doesn't have anything to do w/my arrival.
LOL, no Gramma more to do with needing some lunch
Adios, Yoink. Enjoy your lunch
Greetings All. We got a couple of inches of snow yesterday with a few more due tomorrow here in New England Mummy.
Need a clue on the last ta5/10
I hear that New England is glorious, particularly in the fall, my friend has been there several times and raves about it - particularly Vermont.. it is still on my list however.
Marc - think birds claws singular
Where are you from Mummy?
Somerset (South West England)
I thought you were from the other side of the pond from your username but it was just a wild guess. I live about 15 minutes North of Boston, Massachusetts.
My partner went to Boston for work a few years ago, this time of year, after a few minutes outside he thought his nose had frozen off!
I've never been to England but it is definitely on my list of must holiday someday spots. Surrounding areas as well.
It is actually warm here today. It will get up to almost 40 degrees Farenheit.
I spent some time in Australia, wonderful place, had to come back though, but really do appreciate the English countryside and having France, Greece, etc etc only a few hours away is great
THat would be around 4 or 5 degrees Celcius.
Sorry don't understand bird claws need more help
managed to get to New York a couple of times....I loved it !!....and my daughter getting maaried in Florida in May...22 of us coming for that
mornin all! feeling hamstery?
What does an eagle have at the end of it's feet?
hi there evan :)
Florida wedding sounds good, I have told my kids that if they (ever) get married can they please do it somewhere warm so we can have a holiday too!
its a lot less costly to mummy
You are right about that. But we aren't so bad off either with all of Canada and Mexico and the Carribbean Islands on the East Coast and Hawaii and other such places on the West Coast. My Hubby and I went to Australia on our honeymoon. What a fantastic country. We both loved it and tried to extend our stay but it would have been too expensive. I've been to some parts of Europe and intend to get back with Hubby at some point but kidlet is too small to do much travelling for the next few years and we intend to have a few more if possible.
Not many high-scoring words today, or am I just not seeing them...
Thanks got it I swear I tried that word before and didn't get it.
There's a 10, 2 9s and 3 8s today.
Oh, and 9 7s.
Naptime for kidlet. CUL8R.
my partners son lives in Australia...so thats on the list...they are expecting their first baby in June...so be after that... but probably not next year.
All this talk of sunshine places and here the weather is horrible, wish I was on a tropical beach somewhere, nice cold drink ..... mmmmm turn the heating up close eyes and imagine!
need a better imagination than mine then mummy !!
The journey to Aus is so boring but well worth the trouble, and I hate flying but it has to be done..
yes, that bit doesn't appeal to me either
Gosh, you've done a lot of travelling Minski, where is your favourite place (so far!)?
Anyone got a clue for the se8/40 please?
Greetings, all! It's a big one today... good thing I'm stuck home because of the snow...
not got it yet FMitch
Hi Jera
My son loves that icon, Karys...

Yes I did we had friends round to celebrate my birthday

Fmitch: se8/40: A salt or ester (if I give you more, you'll see it!! think of one of the nutrients in your multi-vitamin) off out to shops - back in a little while! :D (Zube - don't panic!)
Just got back. I had to leave in a hurry. Very interrupted babbling today. :/
thanks babbler. 1 more s to find, dont know which one I am missing - got 1 of the 2 last se5/18s. I've got the one that sounds like drains.
Help! Didn't get the se8 clue!
Got it!

Fmitch - swap the last letter for your other se5/18 deffo out to shops now!! :D back v soon.
Bab you are a star!!!!
Not got it yet, Mitch. :/
Good morning all, a blustery day in Middle Tennessee, sure would love some of that snow that's going around! Does anyone have a clue for the wa6?
Nord - the wa6 is apparently a Scottish word for wrestle :)
oh great...ywis...or something of that nature...thx sherb
Clue for po 6/27?
Hi everyone :) wa6- take the opposite of peace and add what santa rides in less the last letter :)
Morning lola! Zubie, po6 is a thick, creamy soup.
Thanks, Jen. Got it!
There are a lot of words today. I thought I was doing well with 142 words but I still have 183 words left to find. I think I need a breakfast break. CUL8R.
Any clue please for the ge6/24, not the italian ice cream one
Good afternoon all. Davetins - your ge6 is an anagram of 'tangle'
Hello all :)
morning all . . . welcome to hamsterland!
TYVM jacula that was my last one
Hi guys
Davetins - Well done! I've still got 73 to go. But, since I've only just put in my words from my first sweep of the grid, I'm quite pleased.
Hi davetins! You done?
Hi Zubie, yes just finished
you need anything???
bravo davetins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
On 283 now, davetins! :D How about a wave of a magic wand that will 'get' all the remaining words for me? :D
Consider it done zubie, anything particular holding you up??
Good Morning, Jen! Have you been to the gym yet? My computer at school is doing strange things, so I probably won't be able to babble during my lunch! Band
Anyone even know what a g9 is? It has no entry on dictionary.com
The sl's, davetins!
Yoink - From what I can gather it seems to be another word for 'gauntlet'.
Think deer
Thanks Jacula, thought it might have just been an a8 with the initial G, maybe Graham or Gary
Yoink - LOL.
think deer for g9
I want to know why 'sealeg' isn't a word. I mean, if you can find your sealegs surely, if only one leg is behaving in a manner fit for a sailor, you can have a 'sealeg'?:-)
Hey everybody! does anyone have a clue for the as6 that doesn't mean tilted?
Jacula, it's probably hyphenated. Rosalind, thanks but I already had it, I just wondered what it meant
smithchick....as6....think going up the mountain...you'd be going up a ?????
Thanks, karys, got that one. Do you have the other one?
yes ty
Smithchick - think what italic type does.
Any clue for wa 6/30 please?
ooops sorry smithchick ...did you need.....thought you had it !!!
Sorry Zubie, I've got a plumber putting in a new shower The Sl's are all easy ones, can't think you would be stuck on any of them
Think battles then - the in french
Man I am so out of the loop! lol :) My icon never matches everyone elses! Can you even tell who my icon is? :)
It's ok, davetins [re: plumber] . Sl's - just lousy tracking of mine. Grr.
It's the as6/21 that I'm missing.
Hi ToeSock - It's Marilyn Munroe, isn't it?
only one as6/21 smithchick
TSN, looks like a bored ballerina
Smithchick, it's along the same lines as the other as6, a + another s5 meaning an incline
SmithChick - When you ski, you ski down a sl***
Oh, okay. Head slap moment. Thanks all!
Aly, you get the wa6/30 yet??
Jacula - Your right! It's Miss Monroe :)
Well, I'm off for a while. Thanks everybody! Be back later, I'm sure.
301 - will try to finish this tomorrow. Seeya everyone!
Bye Zubie
Bye Smithchick and Zubie
later zub
later smith
I am stuck! :( Any clues on the 8, 9, or 10 letter words? Please? :)
TSM, there is an an8 and its plural which is like a deer, that also leads to the g9 and 10
Thanks yoink. I was spelling the deer wrong and figured it wasn't there.
Yoink! Your the best! Thank yooooou =o)
....still missing two 8 letter words...
I haven't got the other 2 8s yet either
Here's an interesting experiment for you guys to try: I've currently got my mate punster playing this game at the same time as me, and he's logged on under my name!!! So every time I think I've found a new word, I get the "Oops" message!!!!!
But I tell you what, at least I'll finish the game more quickly!!!
movieman that will be intersting to see if the theory works!
Nice one, Movieman!!!!!!!!! :D
Good morning, everyone --- I'm hoping I'll be a little brighter this morning than I was last night. Grid doesn't look any better, though!
This may look like movieman, but it really is punster I have to say movieman - I can't stop laughing from all of the plurals you keep missing :D
this will be interesting when movieman starts arguing with himself LOL
*sulky wulky* I wanna play movieman's game!!!!! : (
Howdy! I'm taking care of the wee one today. So my babble time is rather sporadic. Gladly offered up to the little goddess
LOL Fmitch! :D

It filled a hole thanks Gramma
Punster - I notice U haven't found any of the 7s, 8s, 9s, or the 10 yet...
no, chatting iwth my sister, playing babble here.... she's on the phone right now she'll kill me if she logs into babble and sees I'm telling everyone her busines!!! LOL!!! :D
baggo things would have been more productive if I hadn't started the grid today but hey - what can I say!! LOL
morning
Hi everybody :)
LOL, I"ve already been had new photo id, got parking pass, tb mask tested...and found 273 words, just cause i took the grid with me... heya punster i'll give ya the words...lol
Hey lotti, er sorry I mean sis LOL
Hey Baggo, from the looks of things I'm finding them twice as fast as the a4/4 movieman; Oh and movieman, I thought that you would like to find the big ones yourself :P
Hi guys, back again! Have got small person engrossed in Ice Age so hopefully can babble for at least an hour!
Why punster, have U actually SEEN any of them...?
Hey....both sisters, what could be better than that LOL !!!!
HELLO LOLA! Long time no see! Read back a bit and you'll see this is Punster ;-)
(((xxx))) you two are cracking me up...i wanna play with somebody....
I've just realised, evryone else is going to think I'm a crackpot because it looks as if I'm talking to myself...
Hi sis! Sorry I haven't sent mail...been sooo busy haven't had a chance :( Hey punster, how you doing?? :)
...see told you it would be fun when movieman started fighting with himself!!!!!!!
well if the shoe fits....lol
No worries :)
how many words today?
lol fmitch....and if people don't read back far enough...this is great...
Hola Lola! I peeked in here on Friday to babble a bit and say hi - Didn't see you? How've you been?
Hi Lola, Lotti, Harpjane :)
Movieman, I know you well and I already though that :} Lola, I'm doing good, though when I've been able to squeeze onto Babble I've not seen you
*poof* What timing, eh?
Punster - thanx 4 getting the one coming off the bottom A...it would have taken me ages to get it...
(((((((((Tor)))))))))xxxxxxxxx xx You still at work Yoink??
Anytime...lol
Hi lupe! I have been VERY busy and feeling a bit lousy too, so even though I played I didn't chat much. How are you? :)
gosh, everyones arriving now! *waves to all just arrived* hi guys! :D
baggo, I've been hibernating in the morings (my time) did you accept that new job you were offered?
Hello from Punster! *waves back*
***hello all***
Good - very busy as well. Gotta get my fix - then back to work! Seems everyone else's workload gets lighter during the holidays - mine gets worse.
Hi yoink, torgone :) Hey babbler! Er...haven't sent you any mail either...sorry :/
Hi Babbler!
*waves* back at Babs :)
fmitch yes i did, and i start tomorrow so babbling is gonna be a more in the evening thing for me for a bit i think....
((((Baggo))))
i noticed you and torgone poofed in together...lol
I'm telling you all...this is the way forward for all you Babblers out there... Just make sure you have more than one PC in the house, and they both have Broadband, then get someone else, (a friend, sibling, parent etc.) to play he game under your name, and find out how quickly you can finish the game...lol
Lotti, yes still at work, in fact work is calling and I've got to go for a bit, bye!
Hey baggo! Good luck for tomorrow then my friend! We'll all be thinking of you so be sure to let us all know how it goes :)
Congratulations baggo and good luck for the first day - do let me know how you get on
bye yoink...
Here's a question for the movieman duo- can two people play under separate names at the same time on the same computer?
thanks guys...i'm a little nervous after 15 years of babies weighing less than 13 pounds top, this is going to be a very interesting job....
'bye yoink :)
Hi folks! Haven't Babbled in seems like ages!!! How is everyone?
yes lola, we do it all the time at work, and minimize when we have to go back and do something
Hi Bugzy!
hiya bugzy...
hi kids...don't know if I'll have time to Babble today (quite a bit of work to do...) but I wanted to stop in & say hello!
Hi bugzy :) Thanks baggo, will keep that in mind :)
Thanks Eastern - have a good day!
hiya eb...

I'm sensing that today is hamster day, yes?!
You all have completely adorable icons!
Correct bugzy, and tomorrow's theme will be little tweety birds...(or b***** big ones)...lol
thanks lotti....i just hope the people that come to the ER these next couple of weeks have a bit of a sense of humor and patience....not that i'll tell em i haven't seen a patient their size in quite some time...
((((lotti!)))) How's it going?
(((((Hun)))))) All the better for seeing you ;o) How are you??? I`d love that job Baggo :)
Oh no I'm so embarassed..I thought today was favorite sports character.
In that case, *refresh* :)
i really think i'll love it too... did you finish that math class???? you too can work in the er too... this is a level 1 trauma center, so gun shots stabbings..fights...mva's i really can't wait...and its not that i want people to have pain, its just this is the really nitty gritty...
lol gramma!
good morning everyone
Yeah, nitty gritty would suit me down to the ground!!! I`m still doing the maths classes(tomorrow infact)....If Lewis is better and back at school!!
since when is lols not a real words?
hi raolen...
hey cutie :)
Baggo - Good luck in your new job! And I have to say, I am so glad that there are people like you who like to work in ERs, etc... I know I could not handle it day in and day out!! :)
Hi Raolen:) Gramma you`re looking very athletic!!!! :)
Time for another clue - perhaps the movieman combo can help??? or anyone for that matter LOL looking for 2nd la5/12 please
well lotti i hope he gets to feelin better...we have a bunch of nasty stuff going around here too...
what meaning were you thinking of for lols?
hurshy u gonna get halfway?
thanks bugzy, thats what i say about people who do hospice and some of the adult icus, and surgery...glad they can do it, just not for me...trauma trauma, and of course my babies, but recently that has just gotten a bit hard too...
FMitch, add a vowel to the end of the la4/5 before it :)
fmitch...think of falling into a coma...
I hope so, or he misses out on playing a shepherd again.....the curse of the shepherd eh!!!
dunno, we'll see i guess. i'm at 53. i wouldn't give me good odds being tired. how about you?
Fmitch - just got another la5/12...it's the part of a jacket where you pin a buttonhole... Is this the one you are seeking...?
im gonna try but im not hopeful
oh, is today hamster day?
My kids were both sick last week with some nasty stomach virus...one of the local schools had to be shut down cause of flu... Nasty stuff :(
it's nice to "see" you even when i can't see you :)
Hey movieman, did you get the plural of that? No? I wonder why ^_^
moviman/punster...how many words you two have...we should keep track to see how quickly you two do...
hamster day?
u need a picture
yeah i have one, hang on
baggo - we're down to 113...although that's probably gone down as I'm typing this...lol
refresh!
thanks all, just realised it's the 3rd la5/12 not the 2nd that I am missing. Someone remind me next time that this is why I don't do grids over 200 words - am going cross eyed LOL
I should add to movieman, we only started about an hour and a half ago ;->
ok, i was just curious...you know one day, we could all make new people and have partners, and play doubles...just a thought, we'd have to sign up....
Back again...
You`re as bad as me Yoink......can`t stay away :)
100
Yeah, it's pretty sad.
If it's pretty sad that you keep coming back, what does it say about movieman?
Now now Punster!!!! LOL
afternoon all :) I see Babble's claimed another victim...movieman's now talking to himself!
Wot, I'm sad just because I require punster's assistance in finshing a Babble...?
roflmao
Or spelling apparently...
baggo - here we go LOL
Not really, sherb - I've got punster playing under my name on a different PC...
LOL...you two are nuts!!!! Hi again Sherb :)
fmitch...its killin me my sides ache, and the more that come on will think movieman is bloomin nuts...
I call myself Punster 'cos I crack people up, though it appears that movieman's cracking around the edges anyway.. ;]
oh he's cracked alright...LOL
hi again lotti :) great idea, movieman...contracting out the big puzzles...
movieman ?
baggo - don't worry, I've known punster long enough to be a certain strait-jacket job anyway...
:-)
The guy's enough to drive anyone round the twist...
babbler, he's bloody gone off the deep end over this big puzzle....thinks he's punster...LOL
Punster's "jokes" are worse than Frank Carson's and Stan Boardman's put together...
I said......... *takes deep breath* Movieman ????
Of course I'm Punster, who else would I be?
Yes, Babbler.....what is it...?
well that is a very true statement, if you could become someone i guess the natural choice would be punster..
what happens if you guys press post message at the same time? do your computers blow up?
either way you 2 are giving me a great laugh today...
Yes, punster, the man with what is laughingly termed a "sense of humour".....lol
No, just our heads .. lol
LOL! I'd pay 10 bucks to see that... :D
I'm with lola....lol
tut *sigh*......... didn't work........... I wanted BOTH you Moviemans to ask me what I wanted. Punster - you're having an identity crisis, mate! lol!
I am missing two 8 letter words. Can anyone help?
Yes, the head exploding would be like something out of "Scanners"...lol
((((((Babbler))))))
Only 10! I thought I meant more than that!
(((((((Toes )))))))) :D
TSM sp8/50 and se8/40
(((Baggo!)))
10 if the computers explode....I'll pay more if it's your heads, punster! :)
Well, thats all right then...
FMitch! Thanks!
((((TSM))))
Any hints on the sp8/50 and se8/40?
Good morning everyone...movieman/punster, my daughter is on limited time at college and so she plays under my name when she gets a minute...once in awhile we overlap and it becomes a race to see who can type the words in faster...
It's pretty funny when it looks like I'm talking to myself...of course I do that anyway, just not usually in type!!
Unluckily for the other one, I'm a faster typer so I usually beat him out ;)
TS I take it that you haven't got the sp7 then?
No on the sp7 :(
movieman/punster - perhaps you could have a code so we know which one of you is talking? Madman 1 and Madman 2, for example ;)
tsm....think of to stop xmas...(it's in a kids movie, they are going to c...christmas) (year without a santa claus i believe)...and use your sp then pl
sherb it's much too funny this way...
ROFL Sherb
baggo - how do I know that's really you talking, heh? ;)
anyone with a clue for the pe7/40???? just can't see it..
no need for code, sherb........... when you ask for Movieman, only one of them answers!!!!!!!1 LOL!! :D
Wher'es the fun in that? I simply figure it must be obvious which of us is talking since I'm the one with a sense of humour :P
mmwwwaaaa mwwwaaaa you don't....
so who's jumpin in the custard first when you finish???
pe7/40 take the pe4/5 and add your "years" to it
lol baggo!
lol baggo! :) Hey thanks for the clue as well!
bless you fmitch...i had stats on, and look at them so that i can see a post...when letter get dark i tend to think i can't use them...LOL no prob tsm
FMitch! Thanks again!
baggo, tsm you are both very welcome.
clues on se8 anyone? lola if you are still here, thx for the clue on the wa 6 earlier, I had to leave and came back to find it...nice return treat!
*claps hands excitedly*
norad, you are welcome, hope it made sense! Looking for the se8 myself...
lola, made complete sense, I got it on the first try...
the se8 is a bu***r as it is all by itself and does'nt build on anything. Def is a sal or ester. all req'd letters are in the 1st 2 lines of the grid.
lola its a vitamin, i think but this about the opposite of buy, drop the last letter add a vowel +with the shortened name for nathan....
sorry typo - "salt or ester"
se8 begins with the French word for salt and ends with the past tense of eat...oh, and there's a couple of other letters in the middle... ;)
Thanks FMitch, got it :)
Thanks baggo and sherb too :)
nice one lola - sorry haven't got used to calling you sis yet :)
so the name of a Brazilian footballer is accepted?
Hey movieman, you got any of those 7s, 8s, 9s or the 10 yet? I only ask because I'm curious, not because I'm a mean person or anything...
is the sisterhood gaining members on your side of the pond???
punster, I've got the an8 and the an9, & the ga9 and the ga10...
Yeah Baggo....Macadam is adopting at a faster rate than Angelina Jolie!!!!!
baggo - I got adopted alongside of lola (she was 1st) by lotti and macadam
ok, that is really funny
FMitch, lol! Could get confusing when lotti is here too! Baggo, seems mom has been adopting again, yes! :)
She adopted Marc the other day too !!!
thing is I don't remeber when it happened and that we also have Marc as a brother
well i think i could say sis but i'm not adopted yet, wrong side of the pond....you're all gonna confuse people and it will be great to watch...bout as much fun as the punster/movieman...
lotti we are sis as we are typing the same subject at the same time!!!!!
i was here for the marc one...christmas is gonna be fun in the uk this year....lol
I`ll have to put a word in Baggo :)
baggo _ I adopt you as my best babble buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please say yes.
Mmmmm yeah...hope mum`s got us all nice prezzi`s LOL!!!!!
i'm a big girl...i can handle being the friend... ((xxx)) think she's keepin an eye on me after i called your dad handsome... i think i said quite the looker... which he is..
((((fmitch)))) that works for me... ;-)
Baggo, i still don`t know where you were looking!!!!!! lol
((((((baggo)))))) woohoo!!
Aw look at all the love! :) mmmmm nice
Greetings All. Baby is napping so I am sneaking in a bit of babble. Lots of words today. Finally got the se8 thanks guys.
I hope mom all got us the same nice present, couldn't bear favouritism on christmas morning! *whispers* You have to watch out for the favouritism FMitch!
anyone have a hint for the aa4/4?
Hi Minski :) Tor......you still here babe????
hiya minski... lotti in zoo picture, i blew it up and the poster is on the wall...
I know it should be a suprise, but i`ve got a new kettle and toaster to match my new kitchen!!!! :)
*lurk* *lurk* Wha? Huh? Yes! I'm here, hon.
LOL lola. Just realised what the time is - have to cut and run. See you all tomorrow probably. byeee..............
aa 4/4 is an acronym for something :)
oooh what fun...i love kettles...i change mine quite often, as they are so much fun...
(((fmitch))))) see you later hon....have a good one..
LOL Baggo.....that will be the biggest my dad has ever been!!!! He`s about 5ft 7" and "just" 9 stone!!!
aa 4/4 sounds like a persons name. Like "This is aa_ _ cookie"
LOL lotti...
I`m off now babe, just wanted to say see ya with a snuggle ((((((((xxxXXxxx)))))))). I may bbl xx Bye sis, bye everyone :)
bye lotti...see you later (((xxx)))
Hi folks. I'm back, between washing and ironing, with 6 words left to find.
hurshy how many do u have
*waves* bye lotti
punster/movieman how many do you 2 have now? think its been about an hour...
i've found 28 in that hour....
bye lotti :) another Babble victim - baggo thinks kettles are fun! ;)
I have 144 words now... ah so many to find still :(
Bye bye, lotti! ((((((((((xXxXxXxXx))) )))))))))))
I used to have a kettle shaped like a Friesian cow. It had a cow's head atop and mooed when it boiled. We had to take it back when the moo broke though. Now got a plain white kettle. LOL.
well they are if you get one that makes noise or different noises when then boil....lol sherb...
lol there he is! Hi Tor :)
LOL Jacula and baggo!!!!!
Just about time for me to brave the snow to go getsome lunch and do some Xmas shopping... Don't find all the words while I'm gone, everyone :)
Hi. Does anyone have the WE 6/33? Thanks.

Bugzy - Too late! I only have one word to go.:-))) Enjoy your afternoon.
Minski - we6...as in we6 of Mass Destruction ;)
Hi ToSoMo!
bye Bugzy :)
good morning everyone.
hey still! :)
I'm all done.:-)))) S'pose I'll have to go back to the laundry now. *Shoulders sag.*
Thanks Sherb. An unfortunate but good clue. Too bad I knew what you meant immediately. That phrase shouldn't be in our everyday vocabulary.
Bugzy - Bring me some candy!
Hi all, may I please have a clue for the se8/40?
hi there sherb good to see you.
hiya stillcrazy didn't see you come in...
Thanks guys ... and Congrats Jacula!! And I will find something yummy for you, Torgone! BBL... :)
*bounces in on a pogo stick*
Hi baggo and thanks...good to see you too
(((miyavi))))
Baggoooo! How are you? :)
Hi M_fan
Heya M_fan!
Hi miyavi! :) Have to go start dinner, be back later. :)

*waving to everyone* wow, what a greeting...how are you all?

Hey Babs! You came down from Zorg then :)
Hello to all just joining in for the day.

Morning Cybernan
eh...good up until now! Gotta go already! *kicks computer out of window*
*waves b'bye to Miya* see you later? :)
bye miyavi...
Hi Sera -- did you get my e-mail? -- been babbling, so haven't looked.
hi kids
finally got the sp 7 & 8
Time I followed Lola's lead and went off to make some dinner - chicken curry with rice & naan bread, using up yesterday's chicken. Hi & 'bye Miyavi (if you can hear me now your computer's out on the lan). LOL.
*Meant 'lawn' not 'lan'.
Not yet.... I'll look now. I'm multitasking, as you know.
ahh, jacula, that sounds awesome. I just might have to get myself some curry for lunch.
Those Scottish words are back!
why does it accept the most obscure acronyms, but not NASA, NATO or OPEC? ...weird...
*stomps back into chat log* RIGHT. Had to give my computer a good beating but I think it's ready to behave now
well i'm off...happy hunting...see you all later in the week i think...
Sera -- you've certainly chosen one of the larger grids to jump back in with! -- I still have 61 to go, but need to hit the mall again today -- if you need a clue, shout!
bi baggo, hi miyavi.
that should have been "bye" phonetic spelling you know.
Hey Boreetos :) How are you?
not bad for a monday, yourself?
Any help for the an8 and an9? pls
an 8 and 9 think of home home on the range
This grid is a royal pain in the AR4/4. Baby is up from her nap. Time for grocery shopping and lunch. Not in that order. CUL8R Alligator
bye baggo...good luck in the new job! :)
Minski - Bring me some candy!
awww have fun and babye minski
still crazy -- no longer roaming thx.
Eh, same...think I ended up stumping my music teacher though. He keeps saying he's a small man, he has a small voice, he can't afford to talk over us or reach the deeper tones. I then pointed out to him that one of my favourite singers is only 5'3" and can sing/scream for hours. Think he was quite glad to see me go.
time for dinner...back later...
LOL yvw
babye for now sherb! Have a good one.
Later Sherb! :)
Evening All ; )
Hi Anj
sup anj?!
flippin eck.... just got the sp8........... am exhausted!!! :/
hi Anj :)
Hey Anj :) Can I just ask, what's with the hamsters?
Hey Still, Boreetos, Babs, Miya... haven't even started this one yet. Is it any good???
*clapping for Babs*
...I thought it was Hamster Monday...
Atalante asked for hamsters just for a laugh........ but then we all said Aye and there we are..... :)
*checks stats* no
s'alright till you get into the 200s........... :/
hamster monday...right. And I'd just got my act together and put up Hide as well!
didn't realize it was Hamster Monday... all better now.
and speaking of which, I'll be back at lunch kids. See you then.
OK, will give it a go then : D 325 words hiding in the grid 325 words hiding in the grid and if one of those words was electroluminescence there would be 324...
have a good lunch boreetos!
Later Boreetos :) Anj - ?!
Once more unto the breach...
...just having the breakdown at the start so I can get it out of the way...
how you doing, Yoink?
riiiight :) Hahaha...you know, up until my science lesson today, I didn't know it was in the syllabus to actually blow up the bunsen burners :D
Gamewise or lifewise? :-D I have 153 left to find, I can live with not finishing it though
...wait until you get the chance to make the vacuum flasks implode : D
lol Yoink! I've started.......... so I WILL finish........ (determined... but mashed already!) :D
Wow, what year does that come in?!
...usually associated with drop pipettes, sublimation, condensers (don't break them as science teachers tend to go feral at the cost of replacing them...) and lots of curly rubber pipes. Proper mad professor laboratory stuff...and all just to get red crystals to form in a round-bottomed flask. All that was missing was the Igor...
I remember we used to wave our hands through the bunsen burner flames, if you do it quickly and when the flame is yellow you don't feel a thing
:/ Sounds like the type of lesson I should stay away from. My science teacher still hasn't stopped laughing at me since I screamed in class when some hydrogen made this squeaky popping noise. ...It was loud, okay!
someone set fire to the curtains in the science lab at our school................
First pa 5/12, please?
pa5/12: In quantitative verse, a foot of one long syllable and three short syllables occurring in any order.
...plus, he saw some Dir en Grey pics that really should be kept under cover in my planner when he was looking through to check where the table of elements was. And so was treated to Kyo in a straitjacket, blood running down his chin, flanked by the rest of DeG covered in similar bits of gore
euw....
Babbler, really?! I have a pyromaniac sitting one seat away from me. He melted his ruler! Then threw it at someone!
Yoink, watched some good set fire to his uniform doing that. Then wave it madly over a test tube full of oxygen which also succeeded in turning a flicker into an inferno. Needless to say he will not be allowed to breed.
ty, babbler, but your clue is beyond me!
yes, MIya, the dimwit in my class thought she'd move the lit bunsen burner out of the way.......
cybernan, just paste it into google
cyber: poem :D
(now why didn't I say that in the first place???? LOL! ) :D
ok......... Babble giggles over here......... best keep my eyes on the list.......... :/
LOL Anj, it's worrying how little brain power some people possess :-D
Hi everyone. Big grid today. Best get started. Only 325 to go!
Thanks, Babbler -- didn't know you could do that and get results!
I rely on google a lot! yw cyber :)
Oh Anj...just painfully reminded me of the boy who set his shoe on fire. On purpose. While he was wearing it. Where and why are people like this created?!
Promised myself I would quit and go do some Christmas shopping when I got down to 50 words -- bye for now!
I melted the bottom of some boots I was wearing once while camping out in some woods, drinking heavily and lying with my feet too close to the fire :-/
good going!! see you later, cyber : )
I know...it's even more frightening considering he had just been demonstrated the inflammable qualities of oxygen. Mind you, he managed to top them during a practical demo of the electrochemical series in action. Decided to take a CLOSE look at the effect of water on pure sodium without safety goggles. He was only allowed to take A-level because Oppenheimer had already discovered the lethal stuff... : /
*clapping for Yoink* Amazing :D
we had a nutty professor at our school. one day, he was demonstrating how phospherous goes up in flames once it comes into contact with air......... then he dropped the piece of phospherous in the turn-ups of his trousers....... (he found it in time!! :D )
*bows* thank you thank you! For my encore I will burn off my eyebrows
Our science teacher set fire to a fire-proof ceiling
We used to steal rolls of magnesium ribbon from the science dept. to throw onto fires, that stuff is cool
Potassium goes will in water. Looks like Nov 5th in purple and high temperatures : D
yeah.... those curtains were supposed to be fire-retardent (or whatever the word is!) LOL ! :D
Anj, don't bring back the memories...my dad once exploded a duck pond with potassium. Or some other water-boomy thing beginning with P.
...now that's what I call crispy duck...
yummmy...... (hungry)
*quack*quack* BOOM!
hi EB :D
lol! I think I may have inherited the stupid gene from him! I'm the only person in my class who actually managed to be not looking where the bunsen burner was, and successfully plonk my goggles down right in the flame
hi Babs
Hey Easty! Thanks for the sound effects :)
Hi EB : ) Miya, repeat after me: "Ow! hot..."
Miya - I think your reponse answers the question you asked before...where DO these people come from??? tee hee hee!!
Hi Easterblue
*glares* I am not going to dignify that with an answer! ... "ow! hot..." dammit, still subconsciously in school. Powerless to resist any command from an adult :/
Hi Anj, Yoink, Miya, Babs... and anyone else lurking I may have missed!
Ohh...Miya hunny - you know I love ya babe!
Miy, I typed that in my teacher voice : D
hey, eastern blue!
Hi Une!
hey there. new here...how do i figure out how many words there are total thanks
*runs over and hugs* Thanks Easty, needed to hear that today! Had loads of idiots asking me 'why I cut my wrists'. I DIDN'T cut my wrists, I just was attacked by a hedge :(
boom - when you're 'pro' you have a stats panel.... otherwise - ask a pro! (325 today)
Miya - I shall go & slay the hedge on your behalf!
Anj, you confuse me so...:)
Umm, sorry add a "N" to that EB!
Hi Boomba! There are 325 words today. If you go to the Friends of Babble panel on the right of your screen, you'll see Babblers Anonymous at the bottom. Click on that, click on General, then Stats, you'll see a breakdown of today's grid. Welcome to Babble! :D
shank you berry much. got a long way to go..only got 106
Miy, that's the general idea : D lol sorry, couldn't resist that. I am here to serve and answer any questions you may have ; )
Boom - there is also a link on the right (Babblers Anonymous) where the "second letter" list is posted... Click on Babs Anon...General - Stats It's changed daily....
Hi Babbler, just to let you know that I resisted those 325 words today, and I'm not about to start now. It's choir practice tonight so there's no chance. Managed to find some Christmas presents this morning, the teenage boys will get After-shave! (how boring)
Don't worry Easty! When I say attacked by the hedge, I mean I was bushed :) If you want you can slay the people who think I'm a manic depressive suicidal self harmer, though
*evil grin* Anj, you don't want to know what questions a person like me will throw at you if given the chance
you are very very wise, Ex Wren!!! lol ! :D I'm sure the boys will like their presents. Tough call! : )
Yoink...no offense... growing up, I was always called by my older sisters names anyway - I'm used to anwering to just about anything!
*Babs makes note to self......... be nicer to younger sisters*
Miya - ...hee hee hee... I shall push said tormenters into the hedge & let it ambush them instead!! ...hee hee hee
I know how you feel Eastern, I have 2 older sisters myself
tormentors???? MIya?? gimme their names! *rolls sleeves up, ready to defend the littl 'un*
*clapping* yay! Then I will ask them why they are self harming ^_^
Yoink - I have double that! I think it may be worse for you (a boy) to be called by your sisters names... ...hmmmm
Don't worry Babbler, they were just being stupid! Got my arm all scratched up and have had to endure "why do you cut yourself? Are you a goth?" all day o_O
Well my mum has always called all of us by our wrong names, I have been called my sisters' names and even our dog's name, though that has stopped since he died
yay! just used the X in a word : D
Hi, everybody! are hamsters a a theme...or is it a remarkable coincidence?
...there's an X in there? Oooh, I'm sharp
oh, you mean thtoopid people? ok. *pulls sleeves back down again.... bit too cold today*
Towl...remarkable co-inky dink! *just kiddin'* HI!
Hey Temple! :)
hi T-Owl, hamsters are today's theme. (all in my biog!) : )
Hi Temple : D Miy, why goth? I know lots of those and they don't cut themselves... They can get a bit creative with the kohl tho'.
Hi Temple :)
Yoink - you have my sympathies...
Towl?? oh dear...
Anj - are you a teacher in "real" life??
Well, that's what I said! "what does being a goth have to do with anything?" ...In which case they called me a goth then ran away giggling. Really quite weird
anj?
I got called a tramp once by some kids because I was walking along the street in my duffel coat with a can of beer
Wah...gotta go. We 'goths' obviously need our free time to go cut ourselves as usual :/ Yeah. Okay. But in reality, dinner's up :D
bye, miyavi!
EB sort of...but not in a school. In house trainer for a multi-nat. Trust me, teaching kids is a doddle compared with trying to convince a bunch of know-it-all adults that, well, actually they don't, which is why i'm standing in front of them.
Miya - enjoy your dinner...catch ya later!
Bye MF, enjoy :)
Anj - I was a corp. trainer for over 10 years...I've since moved into project management!
later Miya : ) Temple, I was just shaking my head at your new short name lol
lol anj! so true....
Anj - I usually type in T-Owl...missed the hyphen & 'big' O...
yes - who did that? someone started that yesterday!
EB, gi's a job then ; ) Got to get back on the career ladder in the new year *sighs*
*sheepishly raises hand for today* sorry...what do you prefer?
Anj - gi??
EB, it's a contraction of 'give-us' popular amongst certain scriptwriters over here...
anything's fine, really, eb - just fell like a piece of linen...actually, both my first and last real names are constantly misspelled so it's no big deal!
gotta go - meeting! bbl
anyone got a hint for the we6 before I go for my dinner?
Yoink...we/6... WMD...biological, etc.
yoink - you could hit yourself over your head with this, but I wouldn't recommend it....
Whoo-hoo! Just started snowing here!!
Norad a gun is a ......
Hi Jera : ) I'm not liking the As... } (
Got it, thanks guys, should have seen that one. bbl
Hi, bye, Yoink, Hi anj, jera, temple, babbler, norad, mollie and the rest! Lola?
Jera, It's snowing there? How much. I'm in Baltimore
Hi Deutsch : ) I think Lola is here in grid only just now... : (
Sorry, i couldn't find a hamster pic I liked... wish I knew what I did with the ones I took of Sprite's she used to have... cute black bear one...
Anj...aaahhh...unfortunately, my co. is downsizing...
Just started here, fairfax area... I saw a lot of MD schools were closing early... not us yet...
T-Owl - didn't mean to imply you were a washcloth... (Sorry!) Talk to you later!!
EB, aren't they all : / I'm leaving the job-hunt for the new year now tho' I feel a cool yule coming on : D
MD schools are closing early? That's odd there isn't even any snow falling yet
Anj - that's the spirit... When you least expect it, the opportunities abound!
Sign, snow MAY come down. good enough to close MD schools. Need to do some checking bbl
bye Deutsch!
I think so... maybe they were just cancelling evening stuff... it wasn't me so I wasn't paying very close attention...
can anyone give clues for: ha6/21 ha5/20 he5/14 (i have the one that means piles) thank you!! :)
Whoo-hoo I found a hamm-hamm!
lunchtime is over - back to work! see you later!
soz, efor, I don't have those myself yet.... : /
I'm back now. What did I miss?
guessed & got the ha5/20 & he5/14... just need the ha6/21
Jera, I see you found a hamster. good for you!
any clues on the 10 letter?
ga10/91 but get your an8 and an9 first. then don't overthink for the 10.....
thanks, got it. But anyone know what it means?
...not a clue. Even the Internet is being a bit coy about that one. Maybe it just means big melons... ROFLMAO!!! : ' D
type of gauntlet
It seems to be an old form of "Gauntlet"
efor - did you find that ha6/21? i've been looking for it since you asked......... can't see it! :/
...eh? Gauntlet?? My pesky lead took me a-tiptoeing thru' the cantaloupes...
yeah, just guessed again! :) proper def: heart, liver, and other edible viscera of an animal
anj- american heritage dictionary......
HI all!!!! Happy Monday (choke, gag, cough)...... Don't know if I'm going to play today - just popping in to say hello..... and didn't want to waste my perfectly good teddy bear hamster photo!!!!!
Hi Mama : )
*flies over to Mamabear for a desperately needed ginormous cuddly comfort hug* hello....... : )
Hi Mama!
hi Anj!!!!
Go go go! I meant hello
hi, mama! *hug*
Hi Deutsch!!! *mamabear runs over to greet Babbler with a great big teddy bear hamster hug (they come in all sizes)* you ok?
Hi Temple Owl *hug back* Hi Miyavi
Hi Mayavi!
yeh, Mamabear..........well........ hit the Babble wall.... you know how it is! : ) how's your day going?
Hellooo :) Go! Go! Go! (sorry, annoying song in my head)
but happy to see my Mamabeeeeeaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr!! ! :D:D:D:D:D:D xxx
Hiya MIya : D Go?? where??
Yeah, I saw how big the thing was and I know I won't have enough time today to devote to it, so I might not even tease myself with it..... didn't play yesterday either...... might have to pursue therapy.
I'm happy to see you, too Babbler!!!!!!! *wink*
efor, thx for the ha6 clue...I was going to eat lunch, now maybe I'll fast...that brings me to 200, I'm out of here, thx for all the help fellow babblers, good luck on the big grid
I noticed you weren't here yesterday.... : ( I wasn't going to play.... but then I entered a word "by accident"..... ooops!! do you like my icon? I drawed it by myself!!!!! :D
Babbler, you drew your icon? I'm impressed and it's very cute! dog having a spas, BBL
This weekend was a blur. Christmas shopping and yesterday was rehearsal for our annual Christmas Concert - which is on Sunday.... you're hamster drawing is adorable!!! I know Easternblue draws icons too. I don't know how to do that.... *puts lip out*
lol - put your lip back! go to start, accessories, and you'll see Paint or equivalent. : ) EB inspired me!
Anj, wherever you want! Sorry, Meguru's fault. He does this to me.
Meguru? I know i'm going to regret this, but (lol!) who's Meguru???
Hi everyone!! Mama -- your absence was felt last night! *Hug*
hi GW *hugs* : )
awwww geee, GW *mamabear looks down and kicks at a paperclip on the floor*
Hey Woulf! :) Anj (*hiding cheesy grin*) Meguru is some guy out of Panikku Channeru (please don't ask) with a really addictive voice. Sounds like a deep toddler
Couldn't find a hamster that worked for me, so instead I'm grinning looking at all the snacks running around me ;D
*Hugs for Babbler and Miy*
LOL, GW!!!! You can't catch me......zzzzzzzzziiiiiiipppppp ppppppppppppppp, nana nana poo poo!
hey gw!
Hi, Temple -- ready for more snow?
mine's inedible, GW..... !! :D
Yay :D I like hugs :D Anj, a sample being "I beelee what you say Soonday, I be wiz wa-wa!" God knows what he was attempting to say!
Hi GW : ) *proffers manly handshake* Miya, Panikku Channeru? How deep does THIS rabbit hole go???
Woulf, I'm not sure how well the fans would take it if you ate X Japan's guitarist!
gw : % P
Hello, Anj -- *takes hand in firm grip and pulls in for a friendly hug*fdd
He'd have to use an eraser instead of his teeth!!!!!
Baby is helping me type, can you tell? ad s
*Babs in stitches cos Anj has to hug a fella*
DONE>>>>anyone need a clue???
Help! I'm being hugged! : D
welcome lizard
*runs in and rugby-tackles anj*
BRAVO Ouwachita !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 hats off to you! :D
just go with it, Anj!!!!!!
Babbler -- I've actually been inspired by Nemo -- my new motto is "Hamsters are friends -- Not food!"
Anj, apparently it's Japanglish for Panic Channel. If they want to say something which there aren't words for in Japanese, you just double random letters and add a U on the end :/ Miyavi changed the word Nightingale to Naichingeruu.
you're gonna be a very hungry wolf this winter, GW!
Oh, Engrish, now I understand that : )
hello, daeng, are you there?
following that motto will make you a scant woulf!!!!
Ouwachita, if you wouldn't mind, I'd love a clue for sp 6/ 21 sp 5/ 12 they're at the bottom of the list.......... bugged me for hours! ty so much :)
If I were to be reliant on HAMSTERS in the wild, just how well fed do you think I'd be, folks? :D
details, details....
:D The universal language. Though when a Japanese guy on a forum thought "Spank" was another term for Snack, that's when it starts to go wrong
Ahh, I'm back and see the woulf has joined us. Hi everyone! My dog says bark!
Hi Deutsch! Woof to dog!
how is the puzzle today everyone? i stopped lastnight at 141 and now nothing seems to be jumping out at me.
Hi Deutsch : ) My cat says 'WOOF' : )
nava - this is how far I'VE gotten... (No words entered yet)
any clues for the second ca6 -- I have the roman one
Woulf, just as long as you stay away from my icon as well! If you eat him, the fans will be upset :)
it's like wading through thick mud, nava.... :/
yipes...perhaps my hamster lifted a bit too much iron... did i knock out anj when i tackled him??
sp 5/12 sp + another name for beer.
hi, I just signed on for the first time. My sister is teaching me the proper way to play. so far I think this is the best.
miy - i'd just be hungry in an hour anyway... ;)
ga4-6 dinner menu: ee4-4, an8-45, ca5-14, ha6-24, pe4-4 & sl4-4 ge6-24
*big cheesy grin* I know a girl with a cat called Spanky :D
pbr, i've just got a ca6 - Truman Ca......
Anyone like my icon....? I like to think it's what Bruce Lee would be like if he'd been reincarnated as a hamster....lol
Anj, give your cat a pet from me. It's good to be bilingual. My cat is busy getting into trouble at the mo!
LOL GW!!!!! On THAT note, I better get back to work!!!! Have a good day everyone..... *hugs to all... esp GW & Babbler*
i like your icon, movieman/punster. : D
Later mama! (((hugs back))) nice icon, movie!
Anj--thx bunches
:'( .. *waves tearful b'bye to Mamabear*
*pulls Hide away from Woulf* noooo! Oh wait, he's already dead...
So long, Mama - try not to work too hard! (*Big Hug*)
anj -- the other one is a type of salad
Cheers pbr - good trade : )
bye, mama! c u tomorrow!
thx katmayo, but I already had that one. do you happen to have the one at the bottom of the list? seems to be eluding me.... :/ ty
...later Mama : )
Okay, one thing I'll say about Panic Channel. A man called Tara. o_O
Miya, there are a lot worse handles for a bloke going. Mind you Tara is pretty tame for j-rock. Esmerelda would be more of a challenge : D
evening all :) Babs - sp5 - is it the one that sounds like the German for 'play'? (remember 'Jeux sans Frontieres'?)
hi sherb : D thx.......... lemme see if i can find it..... *concentrates*.....
oooh, it plurals as well : ) Cheers Sherb
Riiight...I don't know why Kyo doesn't mention it more in interviews :) He looks like a girl though. Like Ancafe's Bou *shudders*
Hi sherb!
ANJ!!! that was fast!!! gizza clue!! spell it out for me pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez zz ?? purrrrty pleeeeez?
hi Deutsch! :) howya doing?
thanks, to you, sherb, only 221 left to find! LOL
hey everyone
Hi beebee!
: (..... I'm the only one who doesn't gettit.......*sigh*
Babbler, King of DJs, John... *GRHS* with an S on the front : ) ...and then the end : D
i see there's alot of words today
Babs - also sounds like what surrounds an orange ;)
humph! tried everything BUT THAT!!! *strops off to have dinner* (thx Anj! :D )
deutsch- your hamsters are cuuuuuuute
...and, regrettably, bolivian unicyclists jockstrap don't figure at all : /
welcome beebee...bijou...
I'm at 250 words right now...... and I feel very nervous! I feel I have to hit 'save' or something!!! LOL! :D
sherb- my son use to love hamtaro
anj...how about a clue for those across the pond : )
Hi, beebee & sherb!
...did I just see the word jockstrap?
hi GW :) Miy - is that Yoko Ono? *ducks behind the sofa*
Temple, he DJ'd over there as well...in fact it's where he got his taste for decent music. As Sherb said, apple or orange p.... (skin) with added s : )
Sherb, don't worry, you can come out :) It's a, um, guy. Hide...Hideto :)
T-owl - "Takes a nap" backards
hey GW- how's your daughter? i hope she's better. Where is your hamster?
Hi guys, I'm back :)
<<<<<<<<<I'm done
ok, the prize for hamster of the day has to go to torgone...Hamster MC, cool...!
*Anj dives on Lola and gives her a big 'missed-you' hug* Hi babe (((xxx))) : D
yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa judi
hey lola! and bee bee, judiirae, torgone ty
beebee -- my daughter is doing great -- she was fully recovered by Saturday - thx for asking ;) as for the icon -- I explained it earlier -- I'm being amused by the antics of snacks :D
hey temple- how's it going?
Hi Lola! WTG Judie!
Hi babe! Missed you too (((((xxx))))
Hey Lola :) Hmm...can't find a picture of a hamster that isn't sickeningly sweet and cutey. Will a shot of Kyo's slightly venemous bad-tempered gerbils do instead?
*waves from a discreet distance* hi lola :)
Woot! Judi : ) Miya, they sound OK lol. Are they cosplay gerbils??
Not cosplay gerbils...just, you know the thing about how dogs are supposed to look like their owners? Kyo's gerbils look like him :/
Anj, are you finished yet babe?
No, but iv'e found 226 in 2 hours : ) I've also found that I'm not too keen on the letter A anymore... : / Miya, at least we know what to expect then lol : )
yup! I just didn't realize a gerbil could look so pyschopathic *runs off to try and find picture*
Know what you mean. For the life of me I cannot see the ap5/12 or ap6/21. Can anyone help, please?
has everyone seen the hamster dance website? anj, the badger one reminded me of it...
ap5/12 is a dangerous sleep disorder related to one's breathing
sorry, I'm leaving the A's til last...what kind of a gameplan was that?!
lola - a sleep disorder - when you wake up to grab a breath...
ap6/21 is the plural
ap5/12 is also a ski resort in Colorado...
*returns to chat log shell-shocked* Note for future. Do not...repeat, do NOT...google "Kyo's Gerbils". NO good comes of it
oooh, good clues for the A's...thanks folks :)
Tahnks guys :)
eeek! skip mine...that's an as5/12 : (
Or rather *thanks*....cold meds must be working :)
assumed you were just being a funny guy . . .
Temple Nooooo, don't do it. Dancing hamsters are dangerous lol
Babbler, are you still here? I finally got your ge10 clue! Thanks!
lol, I actually swapped the p and the s around to see if it would work babe!
No Une, just a C- floating in an A pond : /
Hi everyone. hi Une! Why hamsters today?
Hi Mab!
hey, mab!
Hi Deutsch! How did your upper gi go?
Hi mab! The hamsters where atalante's idea, not sure why :)
anj - there's a hamster dance 2 now...sort of a hamster macarena....i could post the link...
Oh right. I was thinking Une for some reason. Mine is a bit distorted due to the image not being square enough.
Oh go on temple...you know you want to! :D
speaking of hamsters and badgers --- I hope everyone has seen the Santa Badgers ;)
*gives mab a big hug* (((((mab))))) You were right. It was nothing to fear. Even the drink stuff wasn't bad. All done in 40 minutes. LOL thanks for your encouragement!
my day was aliens
Hi, Mab!
Santa Badgers?!
Oh good! I hope you get a good result.
gw - i couldn't get on it the day jac posted it - could you repost?
Miy - they did the Badgers flash up for Christmas
thanks, Mab!
hello again.
deutsch - did you watch? so cool
*sigh* I shall probably need the fish for this one but I have looked and looked and cannot see the et6 :( Please help??
hi boreetos...btw has anyone seen jacs?
Hi boreetos! Yes, Temple. It was cool!
Hi boreetos! :)
Woulf, again...?! What badgers?
Hi boreetos! Cute hamster! But are they supposed to be green? (I kid, I know it's not a hamster)
Here you go Temple -- http://www.ebaumsworld.com/fla sh/santabadger.html
hi cap'n hamster!
temple - Jac hasn't been around lately, but I got a message from her this AM saying she was back -- so I would expect to see her soon
yeah Jacula was in this morning. Around 11:30 post time. She was having curry. :)
Ah, the badger; so sweet in Wind in the Willows, yet so vicious in real life.
ty woulf - i was going to email you to ask but it came up with the santa badgers
: )
the sp's are giving me fits...sort of like a dancing hamster...
And for those who are fans of the badgers and 'Kenya' there is alway the Badgers invade Kenya -- http://www.albinoblacksheep .com/flash/bkenya.php
Miya: http://www.ebaumsworld. com/ flash/santabadger.html T he other link is: www.badgerbadgerbadger.co m
any one got clues on the a s
I must say, Miy, I'm a little alarmed to know there is a j-rocker that resembles a gerbil. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
ooooh, THOSE badgers. I think that badgerbadgerbadger site gives me seizures o_O thanks Anj :)
Miy - sorry, I didn't mean to ignore you -- figured the follow up posts would serve the purpose Anj - thanks for watching my back :)
Can you be more specific Charliesmom? Theres such a lot of them.
any clues on that lone a word from the bottom left corner?
Mushroom Mushroom!
And for the Harry Potter fans there is: http://thefifthdistrict.c om/potter/
movieman (without punster) requires assistance... The to7/28... Cluez plz... Gracias...
y/w GW, and I hadn't seen the santa badgers lol
The aa4 that sounds like a man's name, boreetos?
mab, no I got that one, and it actually comes from the a above it. That's what I was confused. I think its the ar4.
no nevermind, mab, I have the ar4 already too.
Don't worry Woulf :) Mab...he's a weird j-rocker. Even by j-rock standards
it must be an ax word.
yea, i found it. thanks anyhow! :)
Both sound like a car part. One is spelled properly and the other is a homonym.
boreetos - it looks like a var spelling of the shaft on a car that the wheels attach to
am missing the last sp5/12 - may i have a clue please?
Temple - sp5/12 - what you did with your money when you went shopping ;)
Help with the wa6/30, pls?
ok, i got the first one, and it definatley sounds like a car part, but the other? a homonym? dual meanings? What are the meanings?
boreetos - it IS the car part
Someone pass the fish to boreetos!
ok, the one I've got has two of the same vowel in the first and third spots, and it sounds like a car part. How is the other one different?
yeah and hit me in the face with it. Sheesh. thanks I am thick!
GW - it means 'wrestle', and it begins with a conflict...
i've got it, thanks people. Your patience is very appreciated.
boreetos hand me that fish....
*hands over fish after a hellacious beatdown*
LOL, boreetos and Temple :D We all get our turn ;)
Yay! I'm all done :)

Well, I've got some other things to do on the computer, so I'll keep popping back onto the log to see if anyone needs any clues :)
hi, karys...
Hi karys :)
Hi Karys : )
later lola...
any clues on the ga10?
trying to finish the 'l's here..
Hi Karys. Big hamster.
boreetos, add the an9 :)
Well, the word Machiavellism isn't in there. That's one worry off my list
just had dinner mab !!!
Boreetos, if you have the a8 or a9 you've got the g10 : )
Hi Karys! babbler gave a good clue for the ge 10. took me a while, but I finally got it! Still here, babbler? Thanks!
Hello again everyone
thanks! what a silly word!
......just got back : ) hi Deutsch!
Hi Yoink!
Hi yoink :)
hey folks - want to pass on a tip. another helpful website to use while babbling. it's www.morewords.com
hey Yoink ! :D
well, i've still got 180 words left to find. But its the end of my lunch break, so I'll see you all again at around 2:30pm WST. :)
Yoink, hi. Is your hamster holding nunchuks, or whatever those things are called. He's a ninja hamster. Cute.
Thanks hurshy.
Yeah Mab, you can get them in card shops and places like that, you squeeze it's paw and it sings "kung-fu fighting"
I think that might be too cute...
And it spins its nunchuck thingy round
Well, I guess I admire a hamster that can defend him or herself. Hamster power. Power to the hamsters.
mab - it is, hearing a hamster voice shouting "heeya!" is just too much! :)
*fitting hamster-proof locks on the windows*
I'd be scared, gw.
Oh, sensible Miyavi.
mab - fear is the mind killer
girl hamsters like boy hamsters with skills!
Yoink - I think your hamster and mine should team up, they'd make an excellent kung-fu fighting duo...lol...
deutsch, they also like them in uniform :)
It's good to have skills to fall back on in case being cute and fuzzy doesn;t work for one.
any help with en7?
LOL, Lola! Is that a conductor's baton in your little paw!
deutsch, no! My little fellow is in westpoint uniform I think and has a cute little sword :)
I have the strangest urge to go create a j-rock hamster
Yeah Movieman, they could be a killer combo!
Miy -And you are resisting - why?
pbr, it builds off your en4/4. Think passing ph*** and add the last three letters :)
LOL, there is also a bride hamster that sings "chapel of love" and a "dancing hamster party girl" that sings "Party all the time" (whatever that is)
*hugs Woulf* I have always loved you for your sinceriosity. And I must go make my j-rock hamster!
I'll call him Spanky
Of course, Lola! How could I been so blind?! lol
And, of course, there is the Groundhog that dances to 'I'm all right" from Caddyshack
loloa100 thx
...anyone for the last el6/21? I'm not getting anywhere...
any clues for the last pe 6/ 21, anyone, pls? ty
Such capable creatures. Who knew? Perhaps they can be trained in warfare so people don't have to do it.
babe, add last vowel and a small insect :)
Anj ...think 'fluent'
not got there yet babbler !!
babbler, add opp of few and first vowel :)
Cheers babe, Karys. Now I have to create a 'use the right bl**dy start letter' fish to beat myself with. I was looking top right and going spare : /
sometimes you just gotta say it.

hey ! management sending us home early so we can come in safely tomorrow (and do the work of all who decline to drive in snow) LOL ttfn!
where are you Temple?
See you later, Temple!
Later Temple!
what a nice management you have!! Where I work, they would make us sleep at our desks for fear we wouldn't make it in the next day!!!!
well....now....thats a very sad word don't you think..no6/21 !!!
'bye temple :) Hi mamabear :)
karys, lol! Yes, I thought that when I found it!
hi Lola!!! Drive safely, TempleOwl!

Lol, Mama ;D
mama - in philly but at lunch i heard no snow until maybe 9pm
hi mama :)
Is my new icon up?

hi karys!!! SO, then they are letting you go home early on the THREAT of snow????? WOW!!!! Are there any job openings there???? LOL
gottit!!! LOL karys!! BRILLIANT clue! :D
Babbler...lol
Yes, mamabear. It's very cute. Temple. Nothing here in baltimore. supposed to stay south, form what I hear. Safe drive, though!
It's nice to be indispensible, isn't it mama? That's how they should make you feel, but I'm sure they don't.
yes, mab, that would be nice, but hardly the case...
speaking of work..... buh-bye
*waves b'bye to mamabear* :D
Bye Mamabear
bye mama :)
G'bye, MAMA
bye, mama! Karys, finally got your clue! lol!
mamabear - i for one truly do not understand...if you knew the industry you wouldn't either - but we will not close unless we have over a foot and even in those cases they would open late - the problem is no parking and we are in the city so it leaves few options...(i think it's wimpy)
oooh - bye, mama and everyone!
good for you Deutsch !!
Karys - agreed -- very sad indeed! ;D
LOL...Grey !!
le6/24 anyone pls? ty
Babbler....limb..a..plus foot digit minus last letter !!!
I'm missing ga5/24, 9/72,10/91 any clues? pls
ty karys!! :D
Grr, I've been searching for a t for about 20 mins as the pic showed me needing one more but I was sure I had them all. So I refreshed and the box went grey. *sigh*
pbr - if you have the an8 and an9, you'll get the ga's. don't have the ga5/24 yet.... sorry :/
ahem.... yes I have.... use the x
Grey?! Did I see the word Grey?! *calm down* Okay, I'm off to create my Shinya-hamster :D
anyone got the the last la5/12 pls? ty

Really was going to decorate and not start this puzzle but then I entered the first word......and I'm off!!
Hi speed!
LOL, speedfreak -- that how it always starts.... ;D
hey speedfreak, ready for the snow???
Hi speed....thinks we all very industrious at the moment !!
*bangs head on desk*...that b****y volcano again!!!
Hi speed :)
know just what you mean sherb !!!
aknitter, Hi! We have a little snow on the ground here, but none sticking to sidewalks and streets. Where are you?
Hi Speed : )
that's how i started today, speed...... : )
Hi Deutsch -- massachusetts, waiting for the snow to come up the coast, and u?
oohh...look....I want 'poleaxe' !!
lol! I AM poleaxed! ........ *gibbering wreck type noises*
tee hee..... I want gateau LOL!
aknitter, I'm down here in Baltimore. They closed most of the schools already. People panic here, they're not used to it like you hearty lot! LOL
or even gateaux, lol!
Babbler I tried gateaux several times not believeing that it wasn't there!
that too, sherb! :)
i am dreading tomorrow if my kids stay home, it is my only day off and i was looking forward to the quiet LOL
Hi Aknitter. Where in MA are you from? I live North of Boston in Stoneham. Or have we had this conversation before and I don't remember? Either way I don't remember.
minski i live in plymouth, home of thanksgiving!
Ah! Now I remember. We have indeed had this conversation. I grew up in Hingham and have never been to Plymouth Plantation although I have gotten lost in Plymouth a couple of times trying to avoid traffic jams on the way to the Cape.
4-8 inches of snow are heading my way -- ugh i am next to the cape cod canal
anyone got the last ga 5/ 14, pls? ty I have to call my Mum, wanna find it before I do.... : )
Hi Minski! We're only suppoesd to get 2-4 here in baltimore, but that's enough to keep kids home and people screaming in the streets grasping their toilet paper! LOL
s'alright.... gottit...... off to call my Mum back later :D
Time for me to go - need to restock the larder [and NOT because of the snow, shelves are nearly bare ;) ] I'll try to be back later-- only have 86 to go :) (*Hugs to everyone*)
Babs, plural of ga4/6? Only one I have right now.
Deutsch -- i'll give you extra words if you keep the snow in baltimore
Yeah. I've been following the news. We are in the 1 -3 inch area. Too bad. We wanted more so Hubby could call in sick and we could play in the snow with baby some more.
Mab, another one from Mass. *considers aknitter's offer* I'll see what I can do! I'm from the midwest were we, too, can handle a few inches. Fun to watch the natives here panic!
And, Deutsch, the newscasters will be advising people not to leave there homes for any reason. Danger! Danger!
minski i will gladly send it up north, i truely believe that i was born in hawaii but by some cruel joke was switched at bith with a massachusetts kid. i hate the cold
Deutsch ~ I went to American University in Washington DC for college and lived there for a few years afterwards. I remember well the reaction of that area to a few flakes of snow. RIDICULOUS!! Washington DC shuts down if there's even the threat of snow.
babbler - its one of those prisons.....
It is expected, an inch here in the wild west of Mass.
Yes, I was shocked my first winter here when everything closed for the THREAT of snow!
Are we on a hamster day? Do I have to go and photograph Roger?
granadan, yes, it's hamster day. I'm running for president.
i'm off to prepare dinner, there are hungry faces staring at me!!
Mab I love the western part of MA. Hubby and Paigey and I spent Memorial Day Weekend (our anniversary weekend) out there. Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Lee, etc. The Norman Rockwell Museum. Old Sturbridge Village (aobut 1/2 way between you and me) and otehr places. I also went to grad school at UMASS Amherst so love the area. Where out there are you?
So true. In DC school and business closings are announced before the snow. Now, right now, is the time to panic.
back again...'phone calls get in the way !!
fair-well fellow massachusetts-ites. be back later to complete this beast
I once had a student (college) tell me it LOOKED like ice was on the street so she couldn't drive in. There was no ice, only wetness!
bye aknitter!
back for more, Karys? I'm very slow today. 172 left to go. sigh
I'm in Northampton, Minski. Started grad school in social work at Smith, but got sick. I have felt stuck here, unable to get back to DC or travel about the state. It's pretty here, but I long for the city.
Bye knitter.
55 here Deutsch
Aarg!
Yeah. It is a bit far from Boston. I couldn't live out there again. It's just for visiting.
*puts nose to keyboard*
I still have 165 words left to find.
99 here and much determination.
94 here, anyone got a hint for the se8?
*waits patiently next to Yoink for the clue*
back to the insanity.... only 204 left to find... but have all my g's done....LOL
Hi blaze!
Hi Deustch how are you today?
not got there yet....!!!....patience little ones !!
someone gave the clue 'salt or ester' for the se8 earlier... I still don't have it, though, lol
top 2 rows
doing fine, blaze! Watching the locals panic over non-sticking snow!
that's sounds like fun.... much likeVancouver then...
se8, all the letters you need are in the top two rows. se plus three letter mans name (***ny henry for example) plus past tense 'to consume' :)
Had to take phone call and change picture...never get this puzzle done!!

Oooh, it's a really BIG baby today!
I love Transvision Vamp! *lola scurries off to find pop art*
And after the Vamp, it's the live version of "Baby I Love Your Way" by the man, Pete Frampton...
my calves are still killing me from all that dancing yesterday.... : )
*lola sings* I don't want your money, honey, I want your love!
*thinks - that's just as well* LOL! : )
*singing still* Well, I love love love, I love the way you move, and I love love love, I love the way you g-g-g-groove, I love your motivation! Oh and I love your desperation!
43 words left to find...and they're all A's...

ha ha ha! Snowy!
thanks lola : )
hey, is anyone well acquainted with burns, and how to tell what stage a burn is?
Every time I tell that (TRUE - I promise) story I get visions of elastic bands! OUCH
thanks so much mab and lola ....i would never have got those !!! ty ty ty
evanonut, er...why??
oops and thanks mab :)
lola, burnt myself yesterday, looks a little worse than most.
Evanonut, if you're hearing: My Luve's like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June. O, my Luve's like the melodie, That's sweetly play'd in tune. ...it's the first verse ; )
No evanonut but lots cold water and ring a doctor if you think its deep - Don't burst a blister if theres one & dont put anything except water on it
lavender oil is good for burns. but you need to find out what kind of burn you've got. what happened?
evanonut, I wouldn't mess around then. Go to a doctor, you don't want it to get infected.
had a run in with the wood burner, it turned crispy white.
how big? how deep? where?
eek! OK, sorry for the bad poetic humour : /
the burn, not the wood burner!!
blotchy red all around it, never got to blister cause skin dragged away from it.
just on my finger, on the back
how have you treated it so far?
*lola snogs Anj in the jacuzzi to keep him from any more bad poetic humour*
hit it with cold water for five minutes
Grey Woulf's wife is a nurse. if he comes in when you're on, ask him if he wouldn't mind asking her. do you have any lavendar oil?
I'd keep it dry and keep an eye on it Eva. Any sign of it getting slushy get it to the doctor. Would your pharmacist look at it for you? they will give advice here if you ask.
no lavender oil ;here
don't even have aloe. just keeping t clean
anything else antiseptic? what does everyone think? honey is a natural antiseptic, but is it ok for burns?
eva, I would call doctor. Perhaps s/he can advise you over the phone.
well, i do have the generic neosporin
According to sources, no nothing apart from cold water and medical treatment, especially for hand burns. I would get it looked at Eva
I'm with Anj on this one, get it seen to.
How are burns treated? Immediately cool small burns under cold running water for at least ten minutes, or rinse chemical burns for 20 minutes. (Briefly rinse larger burns, avoid excessive cooling). Remove clothes in the area of the burn. Then either wrap the burned area in a clean plastic bag or place a clean smooth material over the burn to prevent infection. Minor burns can be treated at home with pain relief and sterile dressings (don't pop blisters). But deep or extensive burns, or burns to the face, hands or across joints, need to be fully assessed and treated in hospital.
i'll make the call about calling the dr. tomorrow
apologies for long post
1sr Aid booklet says keep clean & dry Eva. I wouldn't put anything at all on it if you have an open wound. I think once you have new skin you could consider something soothing then
tx babbler, i rarely trust websites i find, cause how do i know if it is valid info
i went to bbc.co.uk/health. deffo can be trusted!! :D
I have put baking soda on my burns to take away the sting (of a minor kitchen burn)...I never understood why this works.
anywway, it sucks.
evan's skin came away, which is why i was worried about what to suggest
go see your doctor tomorrow, evan. don't wait.
I have to get some sleep now. Goodnight everyone, see you tomorrow :) 'nite babe, sweet dreams, see you tomorrow (((xxx)))
and according to you guys i'm on the right track. that's what i wanted to know. i had been debating a bandaid, but i didn't think it would be a good idea.
nite Lola. sweet dreams!! : )
Night Lola - sweet dreams
Night Lola, take care babe (((xx))) : D
oops, except babbler
Sleep well, Lola.
Goodnight Lola :)
night-o lola
that burn sounds painful evan...I hope you feel better soon.
We have a dry dressing here Eva -it has a non stick side - its called melolin - would recommend that if you have similar. Burns are such a drag. Have taken to regularly burning my forearms on the oven & iron recently - someone asked if I'd been self harming!
tell us what the doc says tomorrow, evan. if you can't see him/her, just go to your local hospital, or the pharmacy as someone else suggested. yeah?
not as painful as i thought it would be. i can poke it without pain.
eeeuuuuwwwwww *shudders* :)
not so sure i'm going. if it don't look worse, i'm not going. doesn't look infected or anything
you might have killed a few nerve endings. don't worry, they'll grow back.
I've done a similar thing to a finger and it took weeks to heal : /
What are the symptoms? There may be obvious and immediate damage to the skin, which may be very painful. In partial thickness burns the skin may be pink, red or mottled and blistering may be seen. In full thickness burns the top layer of the skin is destroyed and may look white or black and charred. Most importantly, full thickness burns are painless as the nerves carrying pain signals have been destroyed.
go get help tomorrow. signed, Dr Babs
i still don't think it's quite that bad. it's kinda corpse white around where the skin came off, but i think its cause that skin is dead.
evening all. :)
he he. dr. babs, i like that
Hi Eva
hi everyone...evan? you were burned?
Guess what, everyone...................... *sharp intake of breath* movieman's finished..................... *awaits well-deserved applause*

One isn't enough?
Temple....po6/27.....thick old fashioned soup
no, i'm never in here long enough to keep you guys straight
po6 is a old word for a soup. Think what you cook in and your years!
Sorry EvaNadine, i'm on/off site like a lunatic at the moment, hence the glacial response times. Hope you're well : )
Temple...the sa6...both start the same ...sa..plus cooking utensil..and a vowel
Somebody say they wanted to see cattle?

No Karys its a baby cow!
I've finished! Wow, I never thought I'd do that, now I can go to bed satisfied
le6....limb...plus a vowel....plus a shortened digit
I think you're right, it is a Charolais. My husband has the joy of doing a lot of dairy fertility work.
WELL DONE yoink .....!!!...:)
Congrats Yoink!!!!!

Bye, Anj
I too need PO 7/32...just cannot see it tonight...
see...snowy...thats what I thought too....must be an age thing !!!
po7...its some sort of food isn't it someone ??
Anj Badgers LOL especially after a medieval carol concert......!!!!
probably Karys everything else is! the only good thing about getting older is that you have something to blame - OH - A first today - my 27 yr old told me I was right - hows that for a breakthrough!
Hello...to all other crazy babblers
The PO word is sitting in my fridge...thought of serving it for supper tonight!!!! fish time.
hi tbear
Snowyowl - I've just consulted my husband - cattle can be classed as mature from 15 months onwards so the bull in the picture might not be that old in terms of age.
hope you noted it on the calender snowy !!!....can celebrate it next year then !!
haz, why so technical? taking all the fun out of the disagreement.
there you are then Kat...knew it was something 'foody'
TY Haz - mind you being right twice in a day may go to my head! LOL
i'm sure that big mean looking bull would take offense to being labelled immature.
sorry....Hi tbear...:)
do you two wanna go tell it it is immature? i don't. i'll just tell it its a bull.
LOL Eva put that in human terms and aren't most of the 'bulls' you know immature! lol
evan...you could go and coo in it's ear...I'm sure it would like that however old it is !!!
oh dear snowy. looks like it comes in threes!
karys, you go coo in its ears, i'll be on the other side of the fence with a video camera.
I think I'd like this game even better if you could move the letters around a bit! Found some brill words that just need that letter at the bottom of the grid
does it not like people then...!!....praps be safer with you I think !!
I wonder why all the good words are always missing one letter...mostly the last letter !!
oh dear... was that a cheap shot? * scratches chin thoughtfully *
don't think so evan....I bow to your greater knowledge since the nearest I ever came to a bull was about two fields away !!!
but you must admit he does look really nice !!
our last bulls name was scooby - i was scared as heck of him, had nightmares of him coming after me. he just looked menacing. i'm thinking i definitely wouldn't whisper in his ear ;-)
po 7: spanish cornmeal mush
do you get to be fond of them evan ?
i do karys, i so fond of miracle, i'm thinking of buying her from my mother in law to save her from the butcher.
oh dear evan....that must make it soooo hard !!!
i don't care to eat a miracle burger. the first burger i ate that i knew first was adam.
They have such nice faces too! It's the same with polar bears and koalas. they look sweet and they're really dangerous. Bit like my mother in law!LOL
gee snowy, hope she doesn't babble
I don't think I could do it evan....I know it has to be ...and I am a very practical person normally..but I think i would find it too difficult !!
Well not on a computer Eva!- No in real life she's fab - was really lucky there.
the cows i can do, except maybe miracle, but i'm working on that. she's just got the sweetest big brown eyes.
snowy !!!...it's nearly Christmas....goodwill and all that !!!...LOL
don't look then evan !!
She's a darling Karys and coming to us for Christmas!
oh i won't look kary's, it's the freezer i have to worry about!
el 6/21?
thats nice snowy....ours are all gone now...,'cept in spirit !!!
It's what happens when time goes by
Or whenever people head off to get married in secret

Brilliant Haz !!!
(wish I was clever)
you're clever karys, heck, i still haven't figured out how you got that picture of my right buttcheek for your icon.
LOL eva!
Sorry - have to go. See you tomorrow!
aaahhh...now that would be telling !!!
are you laughing at my buttcheek?
bye haz
sorry ---- el 6/21 - the last one
now would I do that !!!
i suppose you wouldn't karys, unless i laughed first of course.
it would be that one wouldn't it !!!
Night Haz- thanks for the fun! Eva - how could you think I would laugh at you? My butt must be a mirror image of yours !lol
LOL...evan xx
hmmm, which one? anyway. i'm glad you posted the right one, the left one is scarier.
Ni nite Haz......sleep tite..xx
not you this time evan...

What was that song eva - Happiness is a warm bum?
well...dust yourself off...take a deep breath and go for it snowy.....have a good time !!
never heard it, you can sing it for me tomorrow snowy!
must be going too evan...ni nite...xxxx
think the real words were Happiness is a warm gun Eva - but we always sang Bum instead - teenagers huh!
night karys dear
you're not going to sing it are you? :-(
Thanks, Karys
Lol no eva you can sleep sound, those were the only words I can remember! It was a Beatles song! Really going now - thanks for your lovely company.

may i have the po7/32? the food is po7/27

peri - thanks.
Thanks so much 72 Temple Owl
TempleOwl, yvw
yw. ha 6/21 & 6/24 please? and anyone need one?
Think of an en word (often used in photo editing) meaning to improve -- drop the en
ty, cyber : ) well i'm off for now - bbl...happy babbling!
missing one of the last two sa 4/5's -- have the stuff from trees ( or idiots)
cybernan, sa4 - opposite of crazy
sorry, that was a clue for a sa4/4
afternoon
hi harpjane, it is 8:30 pm where I am.
It's 6:30 p.m. in Montana. Technically, not afternoon, I guess. But I'm just leaving work.
Time to make supper -- back later.
Need help with se7x2 and se8, and sp7 and sp8.
sp8 is sp4/5 + ce4/5
Une, thanks, found the sp8, never heard of the word
Need help with the wa6 please
me either!
Une, do you have the other S words I am looking for?
WA is a scottish word that has something to do with what the WWF is famous for--rhymes with morsel, but spelling is VERY strange
does anyone have a clue for as 6/21 and as 6/18??? I just can't seem to get them...
Hi, just got in from writing Christmas cards and then chilling out on eastoftheweb word games. Anyone need any clues while I finish my drink?
peri, i'm lookin' for a definition . . .
Circe. Hi. Welcome to Babble. Don't think I've seen your name on here before? as6/18 - Add a vowel to the start of your first sl5/10, or, think of what italic type does. as6/21 - Add a vowel at the start of your 3rd sl5/12, or, think what you ski down... a sl***.
Thanks, Jacula. Still plugging along here..up to the s's, tho!
Hi Artlady. I thought you'd gone.
se7/28 is se4/4 + a picnic pest
Thank you Jacula! I've been around, I'm just a lurker :)
Nope, still here...86 to go!
ArtLady - I love your sketches of yourself! I used to illustrate for a short while. Must find the Xmas family cartoon I once did. I'd love to see a pic of me by you though! No, not asking for a freebie. LOL.
se7/32 is the plural of se6/21 . . . crystal ball, manifestations from the spirit world, levitating table . . .
Artlady - just yell if you need a clue. Circe - Hope the clues have helped? Uni - Hi!
hey, jacula!
se6 & se7 - Hold hands around a table and one asks, 'Is there anybody there?'
Thanks, Jac, and thanks, Jac! I made a cartoon version of myself for a bulletin board at school. It also is stuck to the window of my classroom door--just in case anyone forgets what I look like... ;-)
Yes Jacula, I finally got them! Thanks so very much!
peri, did you find the "s" words you were looking for?
Circe - Glad to be of help. Artlady - LOL. Incidentally, are your specs really pale blue? I ask because my late Gran's were and that's the one thing I wanted as my keepsake of her. Specs are such a nice personal keepsake, I think.
I rather like my knitting hamster icon. Think I might keep it for a while.:-)
Jacula, actually they're rimless with pale blue nosepiece and earpieces. I'm getting a new pair (dratted eyes keep getting worse) and they have purple ear pieces with blue nose...getting colorful!
I found a rather nice alien hippy for 'alien' theme day. Dn't think I posted on the log that day though, so that's another I've yet to use.
jac, think your hamster could work on my daughter's Christmas present? It's a white scarf and I keep babbling instead of knitting...
Artlady - Nothing wrong with being colourful! My specs are rimless, too, but have gold nosepiece and edges.
I was going to go for red and blue on the new ones, but chickened out. Purple goes better with my hair.. ;-)
Artlady - I'll ask her. Her name's Fluff, btw. She reminds me of a truly gold hamster we once had. She was gorgeous and liked toast for breakfast. *Jacq consults the hamster in the sky.* Artlady - Fluff says you should be able to multi-task. In other words, you can Babble and knit. LOL.
shouldn't that discussion be about rimles sp5-14
lol
Actually, they're t2's...the brand, that is... ;-)
jac, my husband thinks I should be able to multi-task too...but babbling isn't part of what he thinks I should be doing right now!
Artlady - Silver or white hair looks lovely and goes with everything. The only way silver hair looks horrible is if you put that awful 'Grey Away' type stuff on it. Then, as I told my Mum when she tried it for a while, it looks like you've dipped your head in the teapot. Stay natural once the whole lot's gone silver, INMHO.
pthomp - LOL. Artlady - my other half's not keen on me spending too long on this puzzle either.
jac, I knew I'd never keep up coloring it and believe in being myself, anyway. It's actually turning out pretty good. I started in my 20's (greying, that is)
evening all..am puzzling about the 10 letter word..and one more 9 letter word..not the graceful animall
any help available?
Artlady - I know more than a couple of people who started greying in their 20s. My Dad's Mum was white at 21 (but we think that was the result of her 1st hubby being killed in WW1), my Dad started going grey in his 20s, a girl at my bank did the same and my partner's ex-wife did, too.
My dad had white hair at 20, too. Hi Liana!
hi, art lady :)
Hi Kate. That 9 & 10 are related to the graceful animals you're talking about in that they are in there but with a different first letter. I've looked up the word, since it has no given meaning in the dictionaries, and it seems to be a strange spelling of an old word for gauntlet/s.
top left corner + an8-45 then plural
I have no idea why, but the 9 & 10 were the first words I saw in the grid after 'gentle' (which isn't there).
still looking for one of the last two sa 4/5's -- have the one that comes from trees
g 9 & 10 (the plural): Put the appropriate consonant in front of the graceful animal.
sa 4/5...small bags, sort of
Cybernan - last 2 sa4/5s. One is a Bible character just one initial letter different to the chap who had a vision on the road to Damascus. The other is what you might have to see how you baby is doing when you are pregnant.
Thank you -- it was the biblical man I was missing.
Cybernan - Glad you got it. I could have named my partner as a clue, but didn't want to make it TOO easy. LOL.
Mind you, I do wonder how the Biblical man is allowed in the grid, since he is a Proper Noun.
The Road to Damascus chap isn't allowed!
down to the last 6 -- to's and w's - need help, please: to 6/18 , 7/28 combo the next to 4/5 wa 6/30 wa 4/9 wa 5/20 -- all three just ahead of the stinging insect
Down to the last 35, here...
to6/18 & 7/28 plural - A hydrocarbon, C14H10, related both to the acetylene and the aromatic series, and produced artificially as a white crystalline substance; -- called also diphenyl acetylene.
waah, i just got started and i'm ready to got to sleep!!!
wa6/30 - I saw a good clue for this earlier from Lola, I think. Opposite of peace + what Santa rides on minus the last letter.
Onyx, it's a monster!
For the wa4/9 and plural 5/20, which come after the annoying stinging thing and its plural, think what noise courting cats or really bad singers make... they caterwa**.
Onyx - If you're really ready to sleep, I'd advise you not to begin.
cyber..thanks for the clues..but I monkey typed and even went to A2Z...i cannot figure it out~~~~~!!!!!!!!!
Kate - Those graceful animals I assume you already have? Springboks, impalas etc.? Just add the first letter of the word you are looking for to both words.
thank you Jacula - got the w's -- googled the to chemical, but that didn't help.
cybernan...use the reverse dictionary onelook.com
liankate: g 9 = g + an 8/45
Cybernan - just add the 2nd vowel in the vowel list to your to5/10 above them, then the usual consonant for a plural to get the other one.
i found them, cyber..and felt, uhhhhh..quite Polish..(which I am)...i was making it more difficult than needs be...LOL
too late i got sucked in, btw jac, glad you stayed around
Kate - funny you should say that about making it more difficult than it is. Earlier in the log, people were saying, 'Don't overthink the big words'. LOL. I didn't see the log before I got the words, I just tried them because they seemed so daft.
Onyx - Thanks. Wasn't away as such, was just catching my breath and trying not to breathe in the germs of 3 kids snotting and snuffling their ways through the weekend! Plus, I've written 32 Xmas cards tonight.
AaooroowaOOWW! Welcome back Jacula! (*HUG*)
i thought i was on a roll, i did 2 loads of laundryand made dinner and did the dishes.
Hi to everyone else as well!!
onyx, so did I. 2 to go...2 to go.... ANd that's not laundry loads!
Thank you -- got it! -- I had thought of it, but have always spelled it using the u and the e
One...
Wolfie! *takes hands off ears* Hellooo! Onyx - I won't mention the laundry etc., I've also tackled today then. I don't know where you live or what time of day it is where you are.
Good Evening, GW -- love that icon.
*Holds breath as Artlady looks for the last word.*
Good evening, C-nan! It's one of my fav's :)
i'm in san francisco bay area, only 7 pm here but i worked all day and am already getting the snotty snuffles....
Wolfie - it's very' 'you'. You should keep it.
Thx, Jac --- you are done already I presume?
2:54am on 6th December here in UK, Onyx.
Ok, WHAT does the wa 6/30 mean? I can't find it and it's such a weird word!
I was done hours ago, Wolfie. LOL.
Oh, and that was the last one....
artlady - sherb told me earlier that it means to wrestle
Rub it in, Jac...you ARE several hours ahead of us! ;-)
oooooooooh, i need to quit with 211 words..I get really tired at this time of night..thank you all for your generous help...goodnight, will see you tomorrow :)
Well, geee, that must NOT be in the midwest! Here the first 2 letters are wr... for that term! lol
Bye Liana, sleep well.
wa6/30 has no meaning that I can find, Artlady. As I said for the start, think opposite of peace as in wa*. Then add the first 3 letters of the vehicle that Santa's reindeers pull. Whichever version of it you use, be it UK or US, you'll get the correct 3 letters.
that was pretty much what I thought when I found it, artlady! :D
Goodnight, Kate. Keep well.x
art lady..rhymes with morsle..errr..morsel..(ewg)
Pleasant dreams, lianakate
Now I have to do what I sat down here to do...5 hours ago. Print out a resume for a possible college night class I might be teaching...if hired...if resume gets printed and mailed... Thank you all and good night! BTW, I did have that weird word, just wanted a def. Thanks all!
Just checked on that 'wa' - it's a Scottish word for wrestle.
gray, s ArtL..and Jac..ty xoxoxo
Good luck, artlady! G'nite :)
Good luck, Artlady. 'Night, 'night, sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite. LOL. Not something you hear said to kids much any more, thank Gawd.
Good luck, ArtLady
to 4/5 - immediately before the sound words
Never mind - got it by process of elimination.
Jac, that was part of our good night ritual for my children...they survived. tata!!
to4/5 is a balsam named after a seaport of North West Columbia.
la 5/12 (just discovered it missing), please? --- the one between tardy and rules
Tata, Artlady! LOL.x
Ah! la5/12. How to explain it when it has no definition? Take the last word of the Latin phrase for 'with great honour' which is la***. Use the first three letters of that and then add a word which you should correctly use before the word 'hotel' when describing it.
(Sounds a bit like the grassy area in your garden.)
Thanks Jacula -- found it once I realized it had to have a 2 point letter! I am done!!!!!!! -- didn't think I would considering all else I had to do today, but the Christmas shopping went well.
Glad to hear it c-nan, Great work!!
Cybernan - Did most of my Christmas shopping on Saturday. Only got 3 pressies left to get now. Feels good, when you get most of it done, doen't it?
It sure does ------ have 3 more to get also. One is easy--just requires a trip to Toys R Us, but don't have the wish lists from the other two granddaughters.
Summa cum lauda, Cybernan. LOL.
I read about a Santa site a couple of weeks ago, but didn't save the URl, unfortunately, since I don't have small children. On that site, you go into it when they are otherwise occupied, give lots of little personal details and then draw their attention to the site so they can write to Santa. They get a reply which amazes them because he seems to know so much about them.
Summa thanks, jacula.
Cybernan - *grins*
help with the to6/24 & 7/36, please?
I should go find another icon for tomorrow -- can't recall what the theme is, but remember thinking it wasn't very Christmasy and I am into the season! Anyone want a clue before I leave?
to 6/25 & 7/36: foot digit + hat
'In my day' (as some oldies (ROFLOL) say), 'You wrote a letter to Santa and it went on on the fire and up the chimney, or, as in the house I grew up in, you put it atop the ottoman in your parents' room by an open window Rudolph could pluck it from for Santa to read. If you were lucky you got the first two 'big' things off it.
got the g 9&10, what's the other 9 start with?
Wolfie - what do industrial boots have in them? Steel to*****.
cybernan, tomorrow's birds :)
got' em, thanks
an 9 is the plural of an 8
Uni - well all we pink handbags are 'birds', aren't we? We should just put our own pics up. LOL. I assume the UK term from the 60s for 'women' did travel to UK and Canada?
Onyx -- click on Babblers Anon. under friends of Babble, General, Stats and you will find a 2 letter word list.
are you kidding? "Birds" made it across the pond just like every other Brit expression . . . in the '60s if it wasn't Brit it wasn't worth considering!! :-)
yes - it did -- but sort of a mild derogative.
hello all!
Hi Temple -- how's the snow by you?
For Beatles fans perhaps, Une -- didn't notice that much in Canada
I had a dusting earlier, but nothing worth mentioning It seems to have stopped at the moment
cold & wet...i have notlooked yet to see if i must shovel now...the predications were all over the map... and by you?
Uni - Good. Cybernan - Well, if they were considered 'derogatives' that may well be why a friend of mine in US got very upset when someone from UK called her a 'bint' on a message site. Temple - Hiya.
We've had snow on the ground for 3 days and temps slightly below freezing -- that's cold in our neck of the woods!
duh! i knew that they were there, just don't know why i didn't type them. Thanks, i have dial up, some times i can open another session, some times i have to quit one to lookat the other. usually i have to turn off the log. slow slow slow
Onyx - don't you have broadband?
hey jacs - i remembr, uni!
nah, sonn though, and here i live in " silicon valley"
can i get some help to finish, please? missing two pa words - a four and a six...how about if i list all pas words i have, so others get help, too?
Snow here in Worcestershire in UK has all gone now. My kids are old enough to remember 'proper snow' you could go sledging on and make snowmen and giant snowballs from. My stepdaughter isn't old enough to remember this, and I would like to take her down the hills at the back on a sledge, and make snowpeople etc.
Still have a bit of hand finishing to do on my sewing projects from last week, so I'll toddle off until the flip. Thanks for the help --- good luck to all.
i have: pa4 to move to and fro;
catch you later, c-nan!
'Bye Cybernan - steady hand to your sewing.
pa4/5 - One of several usually one-handed manoeuvers in bullfighting in which the matador presents and moves the cape to attract a close, passing charge of the bull.
pa 4/6 -- what you wear on your back to carry things (minus final consonant) and pluralize. pa 6: to do with flavour and taste -- friend + past tense of to consume
pa 4/9: cat's feet
whoops! pa4/6 move to and fro; pa5/12 plural pa4/6 remove a vowel from above pa5/12 ????? pa6/21 roof of the mouth pa4/5: wan pa 5/12: add a vowel to the end of above pa5/12: add a consonant to the end of pa4/5 above pa4/5: chums pa4/5: piece of glass pa5/12: plural pa4/5:kity or puppy feet i am missing one 4 and one five letter
What a beast! Is there a clue for ha 5/20?
pa 4 6 What is fitted to your heart, followed by the word 'maker' when it isn't working properly. pa 5 14 Plural of the above, or what an expectant father does outside (or once did) whilst his wife does all the labour. pa -4 6 - bundles of things, usually shrink-wrapped. The rest seem to have been clued already.
Hello HarpJane - The ha5/20. Think of another word for a crane or heavy lifter... a Ha***r.
OK, I'll try that! Thanks.
jacs - yours was the 4 letter - kept looking for a five for that with an o ending...now just one five left and i think it's above the "roof of the mouth" but not sure
clue for an8 please
nevermind, got it
Jacula: Missed You!!! Just logging on to change my icon for the morning GreyWoulf has my email address if you want to get in touch with me off babble, would love to talk to you......Glad you are back!!! (((XXX)))
a little excited, speedfreak? (lol)
ge6-24 not the ice?
pa 5 12 - In quantitative verse, a foot of one long syllable and three short syllables occurring in any order. pa 6 21 - Tasty meals may suit your pa6/21, or you may be unfortunate and have a baby born with a hare lip and p6/21. pa 4 5 if you are a Goth, a vampire, or about to faint, your skin may look very pa4/5. pa 5 12 - No definition. Just add the first of the vowels in the vowel list to the end of the word before it. pa 5 12 - a diminuitive word for 'stake' Think 'chum' plus the extra-terrestrial who rode a bike in a teatowel headscarf and wanted to phone home. pa 4 5 - great friends. pa 4 5 - a piece of glass in your window. pa 5 12 - more than one piece of glass in your window. pa 4 5 - bull-fighting manoeuvre already mentioned. pa 4 9 - what puppies have that are often muddy.

Yay for Temple Owl!!!
jacs - it was abbreviation of my state + a long long time...
Oh Bloody hell, pbr! I'll be singing Home On The Plains all blooming night now!
Temple -- thanks! didn't have that one yet :D
It wouldn't be so bad, pbr, but I insist on doing it with al the Southern US intonations held long. LOL.
Jacula -- me too!!
Jacula Are you not speaking to me?
But, doesn't everyone? ;)
thank you all so much! jacs, hate to run but i have to see about a little shoveling before bed! happy babbling everyone!
Hiya Speedfreak. Thanks for the exhuberant welcome.
Temple - as long as it's not sh*t shovelling, you're welcome. Did some snow shovelling myself earlier in the week.
goodnight, jacs! pleaseant dreams!
Unfortunately, I got too busy yesterday to drop in and say thanks for my special day, but I finally just got a chance to go back and peruse the chat log. Thanks for all the love, folks!
p.s. love the icon...
everyone looks so cute! even the big bad wolf! i would love to hear everyone sing that song - then red river valley - espeically jac's w/ a western drawl!
Thanks for the game, Dr_G...
Of course I'm speaking to you, Speedfreak, think I already have? I was busy doing definitions for the 'pa' words.
Ok, the se's are making me cross eyed need se6/21 se7/32 se8 la st 5/10 and the last 2 5/18's
wow - dr g-d!!!! thanks so much for the game! we really enjoy it!!! you are super!
Left off at 301 last night. Back to try and finish!
Hi Dr_God, you've earned it!
Hiya, Dr_God. Glad you enjoyed your day in retrospect nd sorry I couldn't be there. Needed some breathing time, what with... plus the snotty kids who used up all the boxes of tissues over the weekend. LOL. ))Hugs((( anyway.
Hello all, just got back and I need clues on le6/24 and the last le5/10
Hey zubie!! Sorry to say, my snow is wimping out by not accumulating -- it looks like you will have to wait until later in the season for your pics :)
Hi GW! What's the score? :D
gw - have you heard from mama bear?
How dare the snow wimp? [glare] :) I can wait - I think! :D
Dr_God...couldn't make it yesterday either...but THANKS!!!!!!!!! 8 D
Hiya Marc. Will get back to you in a min., unless someone else clues you up.
hi eb - i jsut dropped in this evening - taking a break from work
zubie - Eagles game is 42 - 0 with the Eagles on the losing side; I still have 57 to go to finish ren - yes, Mama was on earlier -- she just had too much to do yesterday :)
thanks gw - 8)
Marc - My last le5/10 means slow musically.
hi renny! I started for a bit eating lunch & then thougth I'd try to polish this off tonight...less than100 to go!
Got the 5/10 thanks now for the 6/24
i'm done!! Now off to take the dogs out for a final pee before bed . . . brrrrrrrrrrrrr
Wolfie - Your clues... se6/21 - think of a round table with letters of the alphabet around it, and people holding hands and closing their eyes, and then on one them, who, is as they all are, hoping to summon up the spirits of the dead... 'Is there anyone there?' the leader asks. The se7/32 is the plural of that. There's a wineglass upside down in the middle of the table, it's meant to guide them to the letters and their answers. Sometimes it shatters and scares the ess aitch eye tee out of them all. se8 - Think of the Wimbledon twins, Serena and Se**** and then add the French word for tea to that second name. se5/10 - add the second vowel in the vowel list to the se4 before it. se5/18 - 'sounds like' a shite place! Failing that, think 'needlework', to se*, and then add a countrified a* (i.e. Somerset) to the end of it.
hi kids
GW - Is that a good thing or a bad thing? That the Eagles are losing? I'm probably going to shock you by asking what sport you're referring to. Ooops. :s
Hello Boreetos - did you get your curry? Ours was lovely. I did suggest I should click on your profile and wave our plates around but my other half just looked at me as if I was nuts. LOL.
(((((((((((hugs all))))))))))) Hi :)
No shock, zubie -- Talking American football, the Eagles are the local team and they got trounced which is made worse by the fact that they were tops in their division last year :D You asked teh score and teh game was on so I answered ;D
'Bye Uni.
Eek! I got bleeped on one of my clues.
Guys I have four left that are driving me crazy! last two: se 5/ 18 & se 5/ 18 last two: se 5/ 18 & se 5/ 18
That's funny, since the grid allows the word! LOL.
What happens when you get bleeded Jacula :)
Refresh the page, folks, if you want a nifty little message from me to appear.
bleeped*
Still need a clue on le6/24
*Grin* GW, I see that your concentration is on the game - the football, I mean! :D I ought to have known that you were talking about American Football! I didn't know that there was a game on, though! When I asked "What's the score", I meant YOUR babble score and total! You know, words found! :D [Laughing, now]
Missy - you mean 'bleeped' not 'bleeded', I hope? I'm a vamp (LOL) - can't get bled unless someone sticks a stake through my heart. Seriously, the word you've typed in just shows up as <bleep>.
I meant for the last ones I'm missing the last two ga's on the ga list...and the last two se's on the se list
zubie -- ROFL -- my focus is on the grid, it's the wife who is the rabid Eagles fan! ;D
Greetings. I never did get the ha 5/20? Anyone care to try another clue? Then I'm going to cut my losses, with 100 words.
hehe Jacula...okay hasn't happened to me yet. I was actually worried about that thinking if I accidentally put a word in that's in the grid I would get banned.
mark - french adjective + spanish cat
Quick rescue of self, GW? Can't stop laughing! You ought to have seen my puzzled face when you started telling me Eagles' scores!! :D
ha 5/20 - add a vowel to the ha 4/9 above it.
But, Jamie, I already read it when you were experimenting and forgot to remove the stuff you were working on from the bottom of the Bab page. LOL. Thanks anyway.
thanks, got it
ha 5/20 - might also be how someone from Boston might pronounce the animal you ride with a saddle.
Jacula- I don't what you're talking about, but it certainly sounds like something I would do. :)
Revised list of the four I need: last two on list: ga 5/ 14 ga 4/ 6 and last two on list: se 5/ 18 se 5/ 18
Need help on the last el6/21
For the ha5/20 - think 'hips and ha*s' and then add an eclair.
ga4..type of party
Dr_God - you did, and I read it! LOL.
Jac - took me a sec to put the vowel in the right spot but got them all -- Thanks! BTW, I'm a practicing Wiccan - you didn't have to give such an explicit def for the 6/7 combo ;D
Missy - ga 4/6 is what you pass through on the picket fence. ga 5/14 is plural of ga 4/6 above it... the olde English word for prison.
el - A substance used as a solvent in separating materials in elution.
Wolfie, I know you are! But so mote it be!
319 now. To the to's!
ga4/6 and its plural. Oscar Wilde - The Ballad of Reading Ga**.
now I am missing both sa6/21's and one of the sc5/12's have the subdivision of an opera
Jacula- I really doubt you've read the Treehouse article because it never appeared on the Babble site. BTW- what article *are* you referring to anyway? You've got me stumped and confused. :\
harpjane-if you don't have it yet it's haw**
Jacula- Unless you have some vampire power I don't know about.
sa+cooking vessel + vowel Mexican plum
Sa 6/21 - fruit, GW, with variant ending letter
DR_God - at one point there were all the sites you chat on at the bottom of the Babble site. They'd not have made any sense to anyone but someone who is au fait with chat sites and chat names (and who knew your real name). I just had a quick look and before I knew it, the sites had gone anyway. I'm not having a go at you, Jamie. I just saw some stuff I maybe wasn't meant to, but nothing awful Just stuff about this site and others you do.
sa -then the same and change the final vowel
Very popular fruit in Florida, Carribean, GW.
Jamie, I promise you it is nothing to worry about. I'm not a hacker. I just happened to be here at a time when you left some stuff lying around.
Thx pthomp and zubie!
Got it thanks
allstartwithX, Jacula thanx for the ga clues...gotem :)
And, Dr_God, because you remind me very much of my only son, I went and read it. LOL.
Jacula- Aha! Now I know what you're talkin about. I'm not sure why you saw those links at the bottom of the page, but I think you're referring to the little links at the top of the page. I occassionally talk about Babble on my Epigroove site, but I haven't posted the article on there. I might someday.
Morning everyone. I'm stumped on one of the ge6's. Have the Italian Icecream. Any clues for the other?
Looking for my last two: (last two 18's on list) se 5/ 18 se 5/ 18
Okay, Jamie, you've convinced me. I might pay $3 for your article once I've seen what my bank balance says after the Xmas shopping. ))))HUG((((( ANYWAY.X lol.
missy - se + very pale
GW - You know that I was j/k, right? :s
Missy - to repair torn clothing (se*) + speak like a pirate
Incidentally, is anyone willing to pay for all my recipes on BabAnon??? LOL.
se + armed conflict
And, with that, it's 325 words 4.76 3732 I hope that the next grid has just 40 words to find! ;D [faints]
zubie - huh? A bit focused on grid cos I'm going a bit slower than usual
*Jacq puts Zubie's legs above her head and loosens her neckwear.*
Re the 'quick rescue of self', GW. I meant to put a ";D" after it, but didn't. If it's only the grid that's keeping you silent, that's ok, then. I thought it was what I said. :/
Hello, I need help with the last sl 5/10, please
Jacula - I don't want to be a pretzel! :D
Zubie - not even the very rarely spotted CHOCOLATE pretzel??
zubie - Oh!! sorry zubie -- of course I knew you were joking :D Just don't confuse me like that again!
Jacula - :D I'm not that fond of chocolate! I might eat it twice or thrice a month. :D
Dr_God- my daughter's boyfriend reckons you have a 1,000-word grid lined up for us on Dec. 19. You wouldn't be the cruel would, you???? Would you?????????????
:D *I* confused *you*, GW? :D I walked in here this morning, asking for your Babble score and you told me football scores and I confused you! :D Well, if I did, then we're even, right? :D
GreyWoulf & pthomp Thank you... I got em. Yay! done...
Jacula...nooooo....all of us are gonna be very busy that day...it would have to be like a 50 word puzzle to be kind :) (Naturally, I'll be on that day in between things)
Need some help with my last two. pe 6/21 and pe 5/12 below the pe 5/12 that's the prison colony.
hey missy me - yeah! -
still missing sc5/12 (have the opera subdivision) also missing a pe4/5 & 5/12 (combo I think, before the pe6/21 - jai alai ball and the pe7
Yay Missy Me!!
GW - sc 5/12 is what you smell from a rose or a perfumed woman.
or what the bloodhound picks up from the trail
zubie -- let me clarify -- Wolf is my primary totem beastie - the patient teacher -- he walks on my right. On my left is Coyote -- the trickster who teaches by his own bad example and by confusing his enemies -- he is on my left And I am LEFT handed -- so sowing confusion is second nature to me ;)
Thanks allstart
Wolfie - thinks films 'Sc*** of A Woman'.
I am also left-handed, which is why I, too, also give rather cryptic clues.
Lefties unite!!
(back to puzzle...only 29 to find!)
Ren - Is that you?
pe6/21 The ball used in jai alai (hope this is the 6/21 one one you wanted) pe 5/ 12 There's no pe5/12 below the prison colony one but there is one above Think this: what you do to a fruit when you want to take the skin off, (drop one of the vowels), and opposite of "off"
Arg... Dr God you still there?
GW - pe 4/5 - Do you have that which comes off an orange? How about the football/soccer player?
zubie - have the orange skin
Nice clarification, GW! :D But were you meant to sow confusion in yourself, too? ;D :D
pe4/5 is the start of s showy flower
Yes, zubie -- Coyote teaches by failing to learn from his mistakes
Heya Jac - Nice to see you.
yep - i was testing my pix as a real ham'ster - hamming it up on the microphone
This is ridiculous -- I have been on for the past 2+ hours and I still have 39 to go and I haven't even been chatting as much as I normally do!
Do you have the pe4/5's - what a bell does; a word for a clerk (Asian sub-continent), GW? And you win on the sowing confusion issue :D Great arguments! ;D
pe 4/5 Portuguese for skin Also sounds like the famous soccer player
po7/32 - A thick mush made of cornmeal boiled in water or stock. Something my Romanian (2nd wife of bro'in'law) Sis-in-law and her Mother INSIST on making.
Torgone...its funny. I had put the same icon on you have but changed it at the last minute to a more Chrismassy rodent :)
Hi, Torgone.
That awful, terrible, nauseating color of the late 70s!!
Jacula that pic is so cute...what is the hammy knitting?
clue wa 6-30?
okay - still don't see the pe7/40, and am missing one of the last two sa4/5's (have the plural of tree blood)
pe 4/5 - pe 4/5 up anger pe 4/5 - short form of a certain muscle (plural)
pe7 = S/A word for office boy + what a person is in years.
pe7/40 = "A system by which debtors are bound in servitude to their creditors until their debts are paid"
thanks - got the pe7!
sa 4/5 - Think Biblical person, GW. Rhymes with saints Peter and ----
Would anyone want a 5x5 grid with over 800 words (using the same wordlist as Babble)?
Yikes, dfox! *shivers*
Sure!
MissyMe - the Eagles are done and now so am I. Thanks for the last two. Had my list jumbled but you figured out which ones I needed. Thanks!

Ishult: thickiening agent plus picnic pest = ge6
ge 6 - sounds like a ga----- knight, except it's spelt ge----. Hope you got it?
ge6/24 - not the Italian icecream, sounds a bit like the old hymn, 'When a knight won his spurs... he was ga***** and bold. Take out 2nd consonant and 2nd vowel and change vowel to 2nd in vowel list. Failing that think 'fine old English 'girl' + busy insect that is found in a formicary.
