Hi everyone!
Hi
Did you finish, GW? *crosses fingers*
Darn it all!!!!! missed by 2!!!
Awww GW! :(
oh...woulfie...so close!
sorry GW, that stinks when its that close.
((((((((((((*HUG*))))))))))))) ))) Woulfie - that's for you...
Oh bugger! I was still trying to give te last few clues whebn everythng changed. LOL.
Morning all
c/7 40
yipee - why not?
Before we all even begin to look properly at this grid, can I just say I think it might be a sod of a grid??
what's the theme?
I have had a couple like this now -- annoying as heck, but it's all part of the game ;D Thanks for all the help, folks! EB -- (((((*HUG*))))) - thanks
hello out there
Hi stillcrazy :) Ahhhh Wolf...:( well you did amazingly in the last hour!
Hi Griffums!
Hi Griffums :) Bears the theme today?
Hi Missy!
Not sure I just put one on is all
I think it's supposed to be birds...
I wanted you to finish, GW. :/ How many words today, by the way?
then I guess I should go find me a bird dog
At least the count is only 155 today, I should be able to finish this one :D But I have day shift, and icy roads to deal with in the AM, so I will say my good nights now
158 today...too much for me to tackle at this late hour... NIGHT ALL!!! Have FUN with the new grid!!!
Where do we find the theme for the day?
EasternBlue Nite :)
Night EB!
MissyMe - Babbler posts it in her log...You can always look her up in the "player rankings' if you're not on at the same time as her...
missy - theme is in Babbler's bio Happy hunting everyone!! (*Hugs for everyone*) extra (*BIG HUG*) for zubie TTFN
Missy - I meant bio...see...it IS too late for me! Nightie Night (or good morning for those on the other side of the pond)
Thanx GW and bye bye :)
Thanks, GW! :D 'Night and sleep well!
Where is log found?
It's birds today.
before I leave -- does this image work? -- it's a wolf reflected in the eye of an owl (just found it) - i can see the wolf, but that may be because I know it's there :)
Hello again -- a little more manageable this time?
greetings Babblers!
e/7 36
gw... the image is a little difficult to see (see something but not a clear image of a wolf). A shame because it looks like it would be pretty cool full size.
GW, works for me. Now that you told me what it is! g'nite.
c7/36
I think it's fine And goodnight GW :)
Thanks, jenwould & harpjane -- tole me what I needed to know -- I go with Kirsten's primary totem then -- this one expresses my current feelings better anyway! ;D So long for real now :)
I still see the old image, GW. :/
well GW I'm sorry, I feel awful writing that. Must be my eye sight. My apologies...
jen - no need for apologies -- it's what I thought on seeing the shrunken icon as well The grid usually gives enough headaches without my icon compunding the prob ;D
(*hugs again*) and bye! Wife is waiting for her backrub!!
c7/40
GW... love the expression on this one! Great attitude of Mr. Wise OWL... off to google myself a bird...see everyone a little later...
d7/40
Why isn't 'quorn' a word??
how come techno and mega don't work?
how come "yipee" isn't a word?
i tried yipee too.
Got 56 words from this grid.Signing out until later now. Byeee,
Oh, make that 58. TTFN.
y5/16 - close to earlier non-word - change the last letter
thanx Malise :)
I thought quorn was a word also
I also think podge should be a word.
85 words still to find... but the mind just can not see them in the grid.... see you all tomorrow.
thanx, malise. getting do 5/18. time to call it a nite....
nesy?
I tried all those too, nava
64 and going... going... gone.
Hi Griffums! -- nice icon
Just when I was going to quit, Atlante -- now I have to find that d7!
cybernan how are you tonight ??
cybernan d7 what we do to the grid every nite....
got it -- had the singular, but hadn't noticed the plural. Hi Blaze doing great! Got most of the Christmas shopping done today and only have 49 words left to find in this grid.
I was going off but stopped to cleanup some of the small letter lots...
Time to check brandyjack's list -- Thank you BJ!
checking the list also
tougher than it looks
Back. I'd had to go for a while. Now to find the rest of the words. 96 so far. Hi Cybernan, Blaze; hi again, everyone!
how come 'yipee' (one of my most used words...) is not in the puzzled? I'm totally puzzled! ;)
Morning zubie Did you finish yesterday's? I called a halt at 250.
Hi Everybody - Hope all goes well on the other side of the water. Can someone help me with the Sy 4/8 - I can't find it, I can't add it up...........DUH
Hi Mitch. I stopped last night at 301 and returned this morning to ferret the last few out. I finished. Obsessed, that's what I am! :o :D How are you?
Dianne, it's a short form of a very unpleasant disease ...
I'm well thanks, just having a quick look at today's grid but off to work shortly. Hi Dianne, sorry can't help you Catch up with everyone later
sy4/8 - A venereal desease
SB944 - I didn't know there was a shorten form of that word - thanks for the help - that was bugging me so.
The things we learn..... :)
Hi Zubie
20 words left and I can't think anymore -- good night all, see you tomorrow.
Dianne - sy4 - all consonants!
zubie - thanks - I got it with Summer's clue a bit earlier. As I said before I dodn't know there was a "nickname" for that !
chic - where in AZ? Tucson here
back with my NeoCitran...drink of the evening. hello to all Zubie how goes the ankle healing ?
Much better, Blaze! Swollen but not as much and less painful. The walking that I'm doing is slowing things down, but after next week I'll be able to rest it :D
zubie are you able to use a cane to take some of the pressure off of your sore ankle?
Help, please - on the De4/6. I have the one to judge/consider and the water one but can't find the last one.
Good morning, has anyone got clues for the Te6/24 & Te7/36 please? I only need these 2 to finish.
de 4.6 what people do when they change furnishings the de**
I suppose I could, Blaze, but I'd feel strange :D
Blaze - thanks. Once again I was headed in the wrong direction.
paddytt...te6 think of a abbreviated name for someone who is good with gadgets
better clue some call it art de**
thanks t bear
and it's plural of course
Thanks tbear :-) finished now
Nelson!
zubie - have you tried the elastic ankle thing they sell in the drug store? My husband had a bad sprain and the doctor suggested this and it really helped him.
Dianne - is it that velcro stuff? I'm thinking of getting it this week.
zubie - no - it is like an elastic sock but open at the heal. My husband said it made him feel much more secure and it helped with the swelling as well.
Hi Zubie, Glad you managed to finish yesterday. I'm stuck on 2 de's 6/30 and following 6/27 ? any clues please?
davetins...earlier clue...what we do to the puzzle and plural
No, got those Tbear, it's the next de6/30 and 6/27
Hi guys and girls :) ((((Tbear))))
Haven't done a single de, davetins. :/
My last 2 so if you need anything (except those)
got the 6/30 just the last 6/27 to go
davetins...de6 and something one plays
davetins, past tense of your de5/14 ...
That's the 6/30 which I just monkeytyped Tbear but thanks anyway
Tbear.....got the photos yet???
TYVM Tbear, all done now, you need anything b4 I go?
And Chessy TYVM
patience lotti patience......aren't i mean..
davetins - since you asked - Se6/24 - I have the one about the sewn part of your clothes but can't get the other one.
Errrr.......yup!!! ;)
davetins, y/w. have a good day :)
davetins...good stuff..no,you go enjoy your freedom..lol :)
WTG Davetins !!!!!!!!
Actually me off too....but not under an 'I'm finished' halo....see you all later... :)
Dianne, after the se think of what you scratch but slightly diff spelling
Yayy davetins! :D
Tbear when you're retired you have freedom every day
davetins - great clue - now I have find out what it means. Thanks so much.
davetins...well enjoy the glory of having finished...
goes right from top to bottom Dianne
sort of a mini-tsunami.
See ya tbear:) Bye everyone, i`m gone too :)
Am I here alone ?
dianne I am still here... just busy with the grid...
i'm here too...:)
Dianne, did you get your se6??
davetins - yes I got it and I thanked you for the help. I then looked it up and found out it is like a mini-tsunami. Nearly finished but debating leaving the last few for tomorrow so I have an"excuse" to log in in the morning:)
Ok Goodnight
Hi ramix - nice to know we've got company.
Good night davetins.
i am complete.... any clues needed ??
I'm just getting started - how was the grid?
haz nice to see you.. not a bad at all
Hi Balze :) I need these ge 5/ 16 ge 6/ 27 ge 7/ 48
I'm here too, just been babbling hard and not reading the chat. Words not flowing any more so decided to see who's there.
That's good - I don't have a lot of free time today so hopefully I can get it completed.
Blaze Those three are the last ones on the list, in order
hi blaze...de6/30 pretty please...:)
the root for the three words is ge* (like map class) def: of 5/16 " A hollow, usually spheroidal rock with crystals lining the inside wall." Just keep adding to the root word
ramix de + ga/47 :)
de 6/30 slang for basketball or de ++ what you hunt
thanks :)
I am over and out for now....
blaze- got the ge 5 & 6 , but the ending for the 7 just won't come to me?
Thank you :)
lshutt - think of Homer's Ode--- for the ending.
Good clue :) I was trying to think how to answer that one
Okay these are the other two I got stuck on. They're both the ones towards the bottom of the list. :) de 6/ 24 de 7/ 40
Some times the light bulb lights up :)
de + what you make calls on minus the h...and its past tense
Thank you remix :)
Dianne lol
still stuck on that ge 7...the homeric ending isn't working for me!
Lemme think of a way to put it Its the sometimes "vowel" you need to add to the end of the word
Ge plus type of poem (plural) plus vowel like letter with value of 3
ramix - look at the last several E words for the letter you need.
And add that last vowel/consonant to ge6/27
aaaaargh...it's official. i'm dense. i'm totally lost. still dont get it
never mind...got it! i was thinking of the other homeric ending (e4/6) so it got me confused
Say that little jingle to yourself kids say to remember they're vowels a...e...and sometimes...* then add it to the end of ge6/27
cool :) de 4/ 7 anyone have this one?
ramix - Do you have the Ge 5/16 and 6/27? If so go to the last few E words and ad the 2nd letter to the 6/27.
dianne..got it. thanks for all your help everyone
ramix - glad you got it :)
Missy - there are 7 in a week but spelled differently.
de 4/7 - uses the 'sometimes' vowel
Got it...thanx lol Why do they look so easy AFTER you get them?
Some of them look easy once you've got them. Others just look completely implausible, but this game has certainly stretched my vocabulary!
Haz...I'm amazed all these strange words. I've done puzzles for years but I think I haven't run across as many odd ones as here on this game
I agree - I think new people get frustrated by all the words that they don't know and almost offended that words exist that they haven't encountered. The rest of us seem to be content to learn something new every single day!
It's possible because most puzzles I've played usually don't allow anything but English words...and of course we're all international so many cultural words are included
It's a bit hit and miss with the foreign words, though. Still, we live and learn and continue to babble.
Phew. About time, too! 158 words 4.65 1914
Wow Zubie! Nice :)
Well done, zubie!
Thanks, Haz, Missy! Tell me that I'm spending too much time here! :D
We're ALL spending too much time here!
*looks around guiltily* Well, I don't think you are because I know I'm not and I see you here a lot...
clues for ge 7/48 please.....
ge 7/48 works off ge 5/12. Ge plus type of poem. Add plural for ge 6/27. Then add penultimate letter of alphabet for ge 7/48
ge 7/48 add the sometimes vowel/consonant to ge 6/27
can anyone help with the ae4/4 feel stupid, but have monkeyed until my fingers want to drop off. somehow still missed it?
Ooh thanks, Missy! :D *Sigh* This babbling addiction!
zubie I hear ya :)
Right, I must go and do useful things. We've just had a new dining room suite delivered and I have to replace all the china etc in the cabinets. My dear husband was being helpful yesterday in taking stuff out, but managed to smash three crystal glasses. I think I'll get the things back in before he comes back to help again...
Haz lol When husbands help and break things you just hate to show disappointment. Take care bye
I managed to stay calm but my daughter gave him a good telling off! Talk about reversal of roles!
That must have been a picture...and probably startled both you and your husband :)
MissyMe, this is for you. No, I will not explain why. :D ((((((((((((((MissyMe))) ))))))))))))) And no, it has nothing to do with our conversation just now :D
We're both used to being told off!
Haz lol Wow Zubie...thank you hon *gathers up her hug and tucks it away in her heart*
Well, I'm off now. See you all for the next grid. Hugs to all!
Nite Zubie :) I'm headed that way too Xmas shopping tomorrow...ugh
Good morning! I always seem to emerge between time zones -just as you overseas (from me) guys are finishing and before my compatriots are awake. Began typing away around 4:30. What a ridiculous time to wake up and it has nothing to do with schedule....just when my body says. Should have been born on a farm. Haved 110 and grinding away. Does anyone have a mercy clue for the c7?
Good morning Eva - Think of Frand Sinatra.
You know I meant Frank :)
Thanks Dianne! That did it. I'm still missing one 7 -have a c, 2d's, an e, a g and a t. What am I missing?
Eva - the are two C7's - think ham and swiss.
Thanks again!
You are welcome.
O.K. I'm saving my last 5 to enter in the morning - lame excuse to play a little bit then. I'm off - time to go for dinner.
Good morning everyone :) Could I please have some help with the ae5/12 and the last se6/24?
Hi Lola, I haven't got the ae, but I have one se6/24, the clue I read was se followed by what you scratch, spelled wrong
Oh, just got the ae5, sounds like a word for assistants
Hi yoink...and two big thank yous! :) How you doing today?
Just enjoying a lazy morning at work, the guy I share an office with is off this morning so I have had plenty babbling time! Down to 68 words to go
Good for you! I have a cold and my toddler is home today :( At least it was a nice, gentle grid today though :)
Aww, hope you feel better soon. Not changing hamster for bird today?
To be honest I just didn't feel like it :( Won't be around for too long anyway, my nice warm bed is calling!
Fair enough, I didn't really want to lose my kung-fun hamster either, I may go back to it another day
Foreign words??? Nooooo!!!!
lol! Yeah, he was very cute! Well, it was nice chatting to you but I'm going to have an early lunch and then dose myself up and retreat to bed (toddler willing, of course). Need any clues before I go?
Oh tons! LOL but the 2 d7s would be handy
Okay, the first one is the plural of the de6/27 before it. Think decipher. The other is the past tense of the de6/27 before it which uses your first po4/5 :)
de7/40 de + co5/14 de7/40 de + what you make calls on minus the h...and its past tense of one above
Thanks a bunch Lola and MissyMe, got them :)
Welcome, everybody to this, another day, another Babble........ This one may seem easy to some of you folks, but don't rest on yer laurels, 'cos I'm pretty damn sure Dr. God's got something sneaky planned to celebrate no. 10000 in less than a fortnight's time...
Youre welcome :)
Is he going to give us more time to complete it? And hello :)
Oops, I think I overdid it with the zeros....... I meant no. 1000...... *slaps forehead very hard*
Hi Movieman, maybe a 10000 word grid? :-D
Or 1000 then, heh
hehe I was thinking maybe a week to complete the 10k one
Hi movieman :) I'm off now guys. Have fun and maybe see you later :)
Bye Lola, get plenty of rest and fluids!
lola100 Good night :)
I have wasted far too much time on one of the ye4x6's, obviously I have got the easy one.
arg 8 words left
ExWren Im missing the harder one too...I've been monkey typing everything (but obviously not the right one)
ye 4....think yippee
Both ye4s are plurals, one an old version of yes still used in votes - ye** or nays, the other is plural of a desire for something
Why not? It's a word. Techno has been a word since the 80's!! :D
just got it, I was only using the 'e' to the right of y!
Yoink Thanx...it was that last clue you gave I was missing. :)
licketySplitAUS I found two other words in the grid that are not acceptable lol
MissyMe... so did I and it is too much that foreign words are ok but not the good old slang!!
Does anyone else find the vowel words as difficult to locate as I do.... They are so damn inconspicuous...
licketySplitAUS I take it your in the US like me. Oh those terrible foreign words! :D Well, it certainly is increasing my vocabular.
Movieman Yes...after typing over and over they start to blend together. I end up mispelling words I know the grid doesn't accept. I'm like, Wha???, come on thats a word! Then I retype it and its accepted...hehe
No LOL, not in the US... I actually missed the word "COLOR' in one Babble becasue of the 'foreign' aspect!!
I was thinking that very thing today, the subtle differences in our spellings and how it may be hard to complete a puzzle because of it.
Anyone get the sa5/16 word yet?
The Enable dictionary accepts English and US spellings though
Missy - I agree... I reckon there should be a version for all you wonderful folks across the pond with your alternative spellings, and one for everyone else...
Yoink Is that an online dictionary?
MissyMe, a 3 letter word for speak and then what you have to prove your age
MissyMe a type of hammer misspelt and missing the second letter
Thank you both Got it :)
The enable dictionary is the one which Babble uses, it stands for Enhanced North American Benchmark LExicon
Then again, anything I type is misspelt!! LOL :D
lol
Yoink So the link to it is thoe question marks by the words?
Oh My Goodness! I just got a word that is sooooo easy and obvious and RIGHT INFRONT OF MY FACE that I feel absolutely stupid for not seeing it... how frustrating!!
licketySplitAUS Well at least you didn't embarass yourself further by asking for the hint like I do. :D
MissyMe, no that takes you to Dictionary.com which feeds from various sources but sometimes doesn't have definitions for words allowed by Babble. You can find out a bit about the ENABLE dictionary and d/l a version of it here: http://www.haversack.com/whack aword/dicts.htm
That dictionary sounds cool. Thanx for the link
can't get the Q4 to save my life!!
lickety - the qu4 sound like a suffix meaning four...
Aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhgggggggg!!! Thanks.... (sobbing)
Well, these last six are robbing me of my good nature so I better quit for now. Night all :D
G'night MissyMe
Night missy...........
See ya MissyMe! Sleep well
Thanx for all your help :D
Hi everyone and bye. I have jury duty today. So I'm taking the grid and will be back later.
any particular kinda birds to todays theme or birds in general?
Hi Deutsch and Eva, just birds, any kinds
Deutsch : hope you get an interesting case
I only see one big bird!
I've got to go too now, bye everyone
something u plant in the ground...
as always, i found too many that i liked, so i think ill be changing throughout the day! but *VOILA!!* bird #1 for today!
geed
clues 4 7/48 plzzzzzzzz
ge/6 + penultimate letter of ABC
hello there evan......hello everyone

Good morning everyone!
mornin jen!
we have weak sunshine today...and then rain
Hi jen :)
How was the drive in for you eva?
finally started taking the metro, so im not driving as far...skidded just a bit in my neighborhood, but the rest of the roads were fine...
ok techno should be a word
Iagree raolen !!
i mean its at least a type of music
I'm debating whether to deal with the idiots on the road to do some shopping today, but at least the DC area actually had planned for this snow.
Thank you raolen! Have found 3 words now that are not in their dictionary!
we were supposed to get snow but we didnt get any, maybe u stole ours(Conn)
sa ??? I am at a loss... but I was also at a loss with qu so forgive me now!! Any help with sa
OK,,, going square! Off to bed now. See you all later!
A snowy good day, all!
mornin jera :)
mornin', jera! no snow here but plenty cold!
Not as much here as was originally expected, just a 2 hour delay for the kids... Sprite's out there in it right now... Gwyd opted for a bubble bath, LOL!
Morning Jera! :)
68 words left to go, and i think my brain fell asleep...
Good moringin lickety still looking for a clue on sa5/16?
hey everyone!
Hi, big brother..... how are ya ???
hiya efore, hi lotti!
Morning everyone that just came in!
Cute pic Eva :)
thanks lotti -- always makes me giggle :)
got a few more up my sleeve for later...couldnt decide!
Hi, all. Thought I'd try to be sociable today and play at the same time. I don't know if I can do it. I'm limited. I haven't even managed to learn how to download an icon. Picture a tall, willowy gorgeous redhead, and pretend it's me for my icon!
I know what you mean.....i started out as 3 french hens, but i love Pingu!!
LOL Smithchick.....image firmly in place :)
Thank you very much. I do actually meet one of those criteria.
raolen? hi.
oh shoot, forgot my icon
I need a clue for the first se5/16 and the last se5/14 driving me crazy
Hey, everybody, it's sing-a-long time again... When the red, red robin comes bob-bob-bobbing along...
refresh!
Or, if you don't want that one, there's always "Rockin' Robin"..............
Good Morning Everyone
Yay Movieman..... can we rock around the christmas tree later??? :) Marc sorry, haven`t got there yet!
Movieman hate to say but you sound out of key
morning shorty.............
Just finished..time for shopping..Have a fun time everyone!
Marc, for the first se5/16 build on the preceding se4.
WTG Judi :)
Hi, shorty...
oops, i used a word! but in my defense i hadn't looked at the grid yet. all the little birdies on day-bird street...
Love to hear the robin go tweet-tweet-tweet!!!
Sorry, Marc, that's the second one that you have. The first one is some kind of plant. Substitute the first letter for something protruding from a cliff.
Rockin Robin Tweet Tweet.......
tweedly dee!
Rockin' robin, tweet- tweedly-dee...
The se5/14 has to do with a tone for drawing.
Go rockin' robin, 'cos we're really gonna rock tonight!!!!!!!!
Smith sorry don't get the clue
Which one? the se5/14 or se5/16? Does anyone have a clue for the g7 or the last se6/24?
se 5/14 s plus ep4
Thanks got the 5/16
Anybody have a clue on te 6/ 24 te 7/ 36 I'm stumped
Thanks got it
hi, everyone!
Can anyone post the url for the stats page?
Aly, think of a rabid sci-fi fan with one letter difference and then pluralise it.
Hi Temple :) Just on my way out, school run!!!! Bbl :)
Hi, Temple. Okay movieman, where's our tunes?
Thanks smithchick. I'll see what I can think of
Lauren, go to the right side of the page and under Friends of Babble, there is babblers anon... go to general once you are there and stats are the 1st thing.
Thanks Jen!
Well, I could entertain you with a selection from the many classic rock tunes I have ripped into Media Player.......
this one is a bad one for having "almosts".
Morning
Morning. What kind of classic rock?
morning harp.
ae clue?
it was in the grid 2 days ago, hurshy :)
Does anyone have a clue for the last se6/24? Or the ge7/48?
was it? golly. i'm losing it.
I think thats a necessary quality for babbaholic-ness!
ge7: "The geologic science of the size and shape of the earth." (or, just add a large point letter to the word that comes before it) se6: make your se4/5 past tense
ok, i'm dying for someone to ask me about my ic4.
Done... anyone need anything before I head out?
Good day, Babblers! I think this puzzle could use a few more E's!! :)
Am I the only one who is finding this grid more difficult than usual, I have been working on this one for ages, and only have 35 words so far.
60 words left to go here, but im already sputtering to a halt...
OK Hurshy... What's up with the icon? (I think I can guess what the guy just shot tho :) )
complain, complain, complain. has anyone stopped to just be GRATEFUL that there's a babble at all?
Whoops ... I mean ic4 :(
oh goody. well it's phil mickelson, right after he shot, you guessed it, a birdie on the18th hole at augusta to win the 2004 masters. i love phil.
Thanks, jen. Was the se clue for the first one? I need the second one. What's up with the icon, hurshy?
I guess if everyone is doing okay, then I will head out for the day... see you guys tomorrow! :)
LOL :) Go Phil !
smithchick, that was for the 1st one, sorry. the 2nd one: " A wave that oscillates in lakes, bays, or gulfs from a few minutes to a few hours as a result of seismic or atmospheric disturbances."
hurshy how many do u have
brilliant pic, hursh!
hurshy - I thought about having an ic4 of a middle finger (ie. "the bird") but thought I might offend !! ;)
bugzy - his little leap there became semi-famous. i have a t-shirt with a stylized man leaping just a teeny bit off the ground, and underneath it says "Air Phil".
96 cutie.
list?
Yeah! Thanks, jen!
thanks harp, and prob good call bugzy. :)
LOL hurshy
started using the list at 80. where've you been anyway?
we had an expirement, i started at 60ish
Morning babblers! :)
lol. you just said someone died.
Stuck on some e's can anyone help ea5/12 don't see how it can work tried everything ep5/16 going round and round ey4/6 got the pl and the one then sounds like tryin
Hey, ToeSockMonkey!
Hi ToSoMo !
Saving e's for last. Can you help on the second de6/27?
TSM, have you ever seen the Toe Sock Monkey Yoga calendar?
lol u no i cant spell
well that was a particularly funny one.
im gonna go to english
What is today's theme supposed to be? I don't see a common trend...
ok don't forget richard ryan 5th.
ea5/12 = past tense of an ea4/4
ea5 is past tense of ea4/4... don't have the others yet!
birds, jera.
Oh, goodie... I don't have to change costume!
hmm, these co6's are puzzling.
The second de 6/27?
lol - i was looking between the wrong words.
marc: ep5/16 period of time geologic era
I don't even have the first de6/27 :) Not seeing the longer words today!!
Yes, the second one. Any clues?
first de 6/27 to figure out a cipher
Thanks hurshy... darn those prefixes!!
How about the de 6/30? Does anyone have that? Or the 5/14 that follows? I'm bound and determined to get the de's before work. Not looking good.
i have the 5/14 - to remove frozen water
Hello smith! Bugzy, ROFL! you called me tosomo! lol Harpjane, No I haven't seen it but not I am curious!
de6/30-- de + Monopoly, Scrabble, etc. Just monkeyed it.
6/30 to remove football? or scrabble?
The de6/30: add prefix to your g4/7
snap bugzy!
:)
Does anyone else think that de6/30 is a dumb word?
hear here!
I've been doing this for almost a year now and there are an awfully lot of DUMB words
Ain't that the truth. Why isn't ain't a word on here? Hasn't the dictionary been to the southern USA?
but smithchick, it also wouldn't have isn't, or any other contraction.
Marc, did you get your other ey4/6?
Down to that one pesky de6/27... Please I'm desperate!
TSM-I just looked for a link to the calendar, couldn't find it. It's a local thing. I'll keep trying. It's hysterical! And a demonstration of the mindful abilities of TSM's everywhere. Getting closer on the de--words. Three to go. If the elusive 6/27 I'll post a clue. After I de 5/14 my car.
I think a better word would be de-po4/5, to get rid of X-rated mags and videos :)
X-rated magazines and videos? So of course I choose now to come in!
Yes, Bugsy, I tried de po4. Should be a word.
Hey Miyavi ! Good timing :)
Hey Bugzy, how are ya?
Oh my gosh. The de6/27 is a past tense of that de5/14 harpjane. Major headslapping going on right now. I'm done!!! Anyone want any clues from me before I get into my housewife mode?

Splendid... and you?
Nice one, Smith! :)
Good thanks...slightly corroded hand thanks to science, but other than that I'm okay :)

Nonny - se6/24 - A wave that oscillates in lakes, bays, or gulfs from a few minutes to a few hours as a result of seismic or atmospheric disturbances.
Shoulda just gone straight to allmusic.com Babs, it's a great resource
nonny - se 6/24 buils off the se/4 that means to sew...
thanks for the heads up, Yoink, I didn't know !! *dashes off to check out hte site*.......
Anj, yup! And PVs *cheesy grin* Today's main selection being Hide's Electric Cucumber. ...And I've just realized how weird that sounds
...yup, weird alright. What does he use it for?
*hitting Anj with electric cucumber*
Is an electric cucumber similar to a clockwork orange?
LOL Yoink!!!!
Shorty, where in Iowa? I live outside of Dubuque.
Yoink, possibly. Very possibly. Only less violence and more implied po4/5 :D Trust me, I've seen the lyrics o_O
whoa! less of electric cucumber on the water or I will become a crispy duck : /
Hey, that's the second time you've mentioned crispy duck on babble in the past two days. I think someone's hungry...:)
mmmmmmmm.... crispy duck........ (Homer Simpson impression)
*searching through fruits to hit Anj with* Umm...he has a song called 'LEMONed I scream'...will a lemon do?
I noticed that too, MIya!!! lol! :D
Oooo just need oyster sauce!!!!! LOl
Duck, duck!
Babbler, I'm starting to get very hungry now! Crispy aromatic duck wrapped up in flour pancakes with strips of electric cucumber, soy sauce and lemongrass...

*flies for safety of ilsand in centre of pond* *plans pre-emptive strike on all plum jam factories* *declares war on oriental food* *preens*
but less of the electric cucumber........ : )
*looks at Anj on island.......... can only see floating cutlery around him, like in Tom & Jerry cartoons*
Harp, I did?! *searching frantically through posts* Anj, leave that sushi alone! Yum :) Babbler, do you know how many fans would love to have the choice of eating some of Hide's special electric cucumber?
Look out for any power points on that central island Anj!!!!!!
temple, go sit in the corner. You used a word in the log. (no, not the same one as myavi....) hee hee
Nonny - there are 2 se6/24s. The first is the past tense of se4/5 (the place where 2 pieces of fabric join). The 2nd is the oscillating wave one - copy and paste the definition into Google :)
I can't find it! Which post was it? ...Only so I can apologize, you understand. No foul play
*poof* Work keeps intruding on my Babble time. Grrrr.
oooh rice and pancakes : ) Hang on.. : /

I don't think I've ever had sushi, MIya, apart from something wrapped in seaweed a japanese friend made once (which I didn't like!)..... :/
Tweet tweet cybernan... :)
*Anj digs slit trench and dons tin hat* "Pack up yer troubles in yer old kit bag..."
and smile, smile smile!!!! *sings Babs as she takes aim with her duck shooting gun*
Babs, that could have been Inari sushi...yum ^_^ Lotti, how can you not like it?! What's not to like? *mouth watering*

harpjane - if i have to sit on the naughty chair one minute for each year of age - i'm afraid i'll never finfish...LOL
YW Nonny :)
*Anj calls in the DAF, pterodactyl division for air cover*
There's a lot of sushi that doesn't involve raw fish. I like veg rolls, crab roll etc.
There are many rank things i`ve had in my mouth (if you know what i mean)....but raw fish ack...ach!!!!
the DAF understand it's DUCK SEASON !!! bbbuuuu hahahahahaaha !
*getting bored with assaulting ducks, now just pigging out on sushi*

Tor - I've tried the veggie ones... I liked them!
Got to get some lunch... definitely NOT sushi. Or duck. BBL :)
Ah, I didn't like the vegetable ones... what can I say? I'm a carnivore

...can't tempt anyone with bangers'n'mash then...? : /
No need to pay, Babbler. *puts chocolate in a wok* Oh Aaaaaanj...
pe 5/14?
Miya! lol...that's banned under the Geneva Convention. It's a weapon of Mass Accumulation...and besides, it makes my feathers stick together...

OK guys, now I'm stuck tih the de 5/14, 6/27, 6/24 and 7/40. It starts after I lost de6/30. Help please.
OH Babs, it seems we'll have to eat this VERY LAAARGE CHOCOLATE BAR all by ourselves...
oh phew, I haven't kept any menus.... so that's the end of that!! :D I'm hungry............. :/ bangers and mash is it, Anj?
Oh Miya............ the hardship you and I have to endure!!! ack!!! lol!! :D
Babbler, I'll stick by you if you stick by me! *wipes away tear*
*produces large cartoon-style plar of mash with bangers sticking out all over* Chow down...
*joins in with the tear-fest* I'm right by your side, Miya : )

BABS! And you call that sticking by my side, do you! ... *breaks choccy in half, gives half to Anj* This isn't over yet, duck...
did someone say chocolate?
OK, I have the first sy/4/6. The other (supposed) sy/4/8, is an elusive one. The word does not seem to exist. Any clues anyone?
*speaking with mouth full of chocolate* No...
there are no conventional vowels in sy4/8, just the y.
LOL!!! so sorry, Miya!!! I hadn't realised how that sounded!!! *looks at Anj with utter jealousy....scoffing her share of chocolate!!!! *
i mean, if you think about the points, there's really not a lot of ways to go.
*sulking*
Hi Hurshy : ) Must admit, all this talk of food has got the juices going. Back later, after some nosebag... : D

Karys, I've got mental images of American gamblers throwing di4/6 at what are, quite literally, craps. Surely that's not what they do for recreation across the pond?
Thank you -- that has appeared before hasn't it? -- memory's good, just short!
LOL...LOL...Miya..no I don't think so....(you and your imagination !!!)
miyavi, not all of us like to gamble. Only a few really like throwing their money away *wishes they would throw it my way* :)
you and me both Cyber !!
Uh huh, thanks everyone...got the di4/6. How could I not...it's the name of the Hide song I'm listening to! It's the 'craps' part that confused me. Please tell me that means something else in America
hi kids
EXCEPT, I"m looking for the DE's not the DI's.
Doxy, they can't be as stupid as my science teacher. He actually set a five pound note on fire today o_O

boreetos -- try another nickname (refuse to call it a word) for technician.

miyavi, that's a really good question :/
se6/24...A wave that oscillates in lakes, bays, or gulfs from a few minutes to a few hours as a result of seismic or atmospheric disturbances.
ouwa - sorry, there are two -- I'm looking for the last one.
is the theme birds today?
birds it is.
Though Doxy, I may prefer to not know the answer!
ouwa - read that in an earlier post -- didn't help -- sunomi isn't there!
nan...the whole word is in columns 2 and 3
ok, all updated with today's theme. i only wish they were carrying cocnuts.
Ouwa -- got it! -- thanks for your patience. Done -- will hang around for a little while to help if needed.
nan...sunomi is not there cause it is spelled...tsunami...lol
...It's like in my school's German books. The books feature a family called the Koch's, to teach the kids German. Bearing in mind that Koch is pronounced Cock, and that these books are going to be read aloud by teenagers, could the authors honestly not think of any better name?!
so it is ------ah me, and I pride myself on my spelling!!!
cybernan, still need the de 6/24 & 7/40. Also the pe 6/21.
pe6/21 is based on the pe5/12 just above it

sorry ic4-6
ic4/6...think tea

ic 4/6: A drink poured over frozen cubes is ic 4/6
done to a cake
thanx cybernan. I've got ONE more to go. it's the only pe 6/21
pe 6/21 -- add a consonant to the pe 5 before it.
nonny...pronounced "pees in"

Hi babe....was about to leave, but i`ll stay a while :)

It must be the weather...
Hi Eva.....how are you???
Hi there evan :)
LOL babe..... I keep thinking about Baggo :) Hope she`s having a good day!!
it must be the weather - it went down to 31F here last night - that's not fair -
I missed it. What's up with Baggo? Hi eva.
She started her new job in ER today .... Well one last (((((((Squeeze))))))) Really should go dish up dinner.((((((((((((((XXxxxXX)) )))))))))) See you later xx
going a little bit blind from playing Luxor on MSN games...heh
bye for now lotti :)
renfield, it's 16 degrees here. my nostrils froze together on my run this morning.
oh small - do you have a nose mitten you can wear?
It is now 6 degrees (farenheit) and snowing here.
bye lotti - dish us up some dinner too that way we can keep playing!
renfield, well that's any interesting mental picture. you could be on to something so sorry CadFan!
ok - well it's going to be 60 today - so i really better now -
hey small - how did you do in the marathon a few weeks ago?
CadFan - I think you win for the coldest place!! Where are you? Hi again everyone :)
renfield, oh that's so sweet of you to remember. do you run? only 10 miles though, not a marathon. brutal hills and I LOVED every step of it
no - not any longer 8( - i fell 8 years ago playing volleyball and injured my right knee - i can do walk -a - thons- and still play volleyball (non competition) - limp a little afterwards - but hey - ya gotta stay happy!
hey folks, any need for clues?
That's still a long way to run! I can just about manage to jog the rest of the way across the street to avoid getting run over.
hey hurshy -
hi renfield!
ah say, ah say, today's theme worked out well for you tor. :)
The de6/30 is driving me batty .. .
Ren, exactly about the happy thing! Good for you! The body was meant to move. Torg-that's how the run bug strikes. first it's self-preservation, then it's addiction i fell on my arse in a blizzard last weekend. now there's a crack in it hahahahahahahaha seriously, though my butt hurts. everything has it's danger i suppose
hurshy, down to my last word . . . can't seem to find de6/27 (right before de6/24)
de plus ga4
de + ga4/7
une, we all started with the wrong d on that one this morning. it's past tense of that de5.
Greetings All. It's 35 degrees F and sunny here. What is today's theme? It is birds? or comics?
nice duck btw.
De **** Spies use it to find out
birdies, minsk.
i think it's birds, minski bye all, got my babble fix, now off to work again
Thx Une! Weird word..
bye smaller!
yvo, thanks but i've got that one
Bye smaller.
une- did you catch my clue at 1:39?
bye small - see you later - i'm back to reading some legal docs (if ican stay awake)
Bugzy - I am in Fort Collins, CO, USA
hey, cadfan, my uncle lives in fort collins!
Une - Past tense of de5/14
wow, what a twisty crawly word! thanks!
cad - that's kind of chilly.... we have freinds not far from you.....
ok is this a conspiracy? everyone just ignore hurshy's clues.
i mean friends - not feinds
i got it with your clue, hurshy!!
oh, whew. :)
OK I'm back. Found myself a bird. Now for more babbling before baby wakes up from nap. I still have 90 words left to find.
Ah, Colorado State area... Had a friend who went there. Anyway, makes me feel better about 18 degrees here (Detroit) :)
what's tomorrow's theme??
tomorrow's theme is green.
green as in environment? money? the color?
be creative :)
hello again everyone...can you tell me what I am missing ..its a do something...I have do4 something completed do4 entrance do4 silly person do5 silly people do5 sleepy person could I have a clue please ?
last do4 - remove e from last do5
ooohhh thanks hurshy.....how silly !!!
2 left... I've been reading the clues, but the logs were pretty long - does anyone mind repeating clues for sa5 and ae5?
ae5.....helpers...altenative spelling
ae5 sounds vaguely like the greek mythological underworld sa5 looks to me like an arabic name. to utter + passport/driver's license
walnutchen...ae5/12 sounds like another word for helpers
got it. thanks hurshy/karys..... *sigh* now, onto my day...
lol karys
oh my tbear. do i need to refresh or are you a giant mouth?
thanks tbear! too bad I'm not high enough on the corporate totem pole to have my own helpers!
I'm the Rolling Stones tongue...album cover
.................... back *Babs runs and slides back into the room* !! :D
i knew i'd seen it somewhere before. hey babbler!!!
welcome back babs....you be careful now....all that sliding...you could fall !!!
or one of all these birds could mistake you for a worm sliding...*shudder*
don't worry, Karys, it's a speciality of mine!! :D hey guys! :D
Last word... I'm sure it's easy but I just can't see it... First se5/16?? Please?
s + ed4
Hi folks! I am a 'mesange' today! Had problems with my internet connection and I'm glad to be back!
hey sherry. what a pretty bird.
Thanks hurshy :) Never would have gotten that !! Hi Sherry :)
Oh Hurshy - small world isn't it?
Thanks Hurshy!
i guess so. :) are you associated with CSU?
Yes, that's where I work
my uncle is a prof in the music department
I'm in Engineering
so not much crossover :)
no - but lots of Engineers are double majors in music - or are involved in Band or some other group over there
is it a long walk? i don't know the campus at all.
could i have some help with the te 6/27 please?
te 6/27 is past tense of the te4 that isn't there (related to te6/7 combo)
No, the Music Building & the Engineering Building are both on the North end of campus, both very near the oval
thanks hurshy finished the t words now lunch for the baby cul8r
well, if you ever want you should stop by and tell paul metz that you met his niece babbling. if you tell him my screen name he can figure out which niece. :) and you should show him this website - he might like babble.
bye minski!
Never know - one of these days I might - not today though, way too cold
chilly chilly.
hi everyone! babs, have you ever heard of a group called the Vibrants? am reviewing for muiskfest and they are from UK - billed as alternative...
helloo, templedy templedy
Vibrants? no, I haven't..... but have you asked Anj? I think he's more up on these things than I am. Yoink too. *dashes off to google*......... : )
yo hursh whatup
not much how bout you?
well babs - could do that - they are from twickenham and are unsigned...
hmmmmm, I see they've played the Half Moon (pub), that's my neck of the woods................ *back to google*
www.thevibrants.com
site's down so i cannot hear any audio - sorry to interrupt- finished already! happy babbling!
they won't be unsigned for long, will they T-Owl? good polished sound..........*back to google*
yep......... that's the site I'm already on, T-Owl!! :D
ty babs - now you must go scout them for me LOL
bravo T-Owl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
Good for you T owl....!!!!
nice write up in www.garageband.com
free mp3 download too................... we like!!! :D
whoa!!! I've just discovered podcasting!! :D
hello ?
hey babbler. i don't know where everyone went :)
i think we're all listening to choooooons! :D
i'm not. just the sounds of silence. really, not simon and garfunkel.
lol! I had a noisy neighbour once. He played that song..... at 2.20am!!! I creased up, I thought that was so funny! :D
creased up? is this british slang for laughed, like the american version cracked up?
yes! I was going to say cracked up, but I thought that was a britishism..... muddled myself up a bit there, didn't I? lol !
lol :)
Hi kids!
hi EB! :D
hey EB!
Hi hurshy... Hi Babs...still doing your own artwork?? cute bird!
Need help with pe5/14, please...
ea 5/12 ? anyone?... anyone?
thanks EB! I look at my fat little robin and just see my diddy babba niece (the one who's 7 months). I love your pic too! Is it a male cardinal? (like Bugzy's icon) ?
hello everyone: can see with babble my xmas decorations are never going to get out...was not going to play but......
Tweet tweet EB :)
ea5/12 = past tense of ea4/4 just before it...
Bugzy....wow! I thought of doing a cardinal cuz I've seen one in my back yard the past few weeks...the males are so pretty! my pix looks very close to yours!!
pe 5/14 abbreviated way of saying the medical specialty that focuses on children
Babs - what program do you use to do your pix??
I use Paint, the one that's in Accessories. What do you use?
That's why I picked the cardinal, too EB - I put up the birdfeeders and saw my first cardinal today. Love seeing them ! Yours is much more creative than mine, though :) Hi Speedfreak ! Decorations can wait!!
same thing...yours turn out so darn cute!
Hi Speedfreak!
LOL!! well that's cos I am too!!! (so sorry, couldn't resist!! ) :D I use airbrush. Do you sketch yours and then fill them in? I'm wondering how you get your colours.
Thank you hurshy, I was trying to spell that, just wasn't twisting right!
Babs - I don't usually use the airbrush...I use the pencil or the 'brush' and then fill in with the 'paintbucket'...most of the colors are on the palate, but I do customize some of them....
oh yes, that's what I meant, the paintbucket. I just discovered that the other day. still finding my way round. Oh! You might know.... I double clicked on the colours, and now I have 2 squares in the selected thingy. I only want one. how do I change it back?
I think you select the one you want, and then click 'ok'....
I did that.... but I still get two little squares, one of top of teh other. I can use the R or L button on the mouse to choose between the two. That feature. I don't know how I got it or how to change it back!!! : D
tks jera
Babs...hmmm - not sure...if you close out & then open paint back up, it should 'restore' the presets! : D
*giggles*... did that too, EB!! it's no biggie, I just have pay attention...... (or get the wrong colour!) :D
Babs - if you "L" mouse click - it will give you the top color...if you "R" mouse click - it will give you the bottom color... If you want to change the bottom one back to 'white' - go over to the color bar on the right and then R mouse click on the white box... I think it's to give you the option of using 2 colors at once - with the R or L mouse click! (just monkeying around with it!)
any clues on et5/14?
!!!!! HELP pe 4/5 not the horrid green things lol thanks
Babs - i've discovered that if the 'bottom' box is selected, if you use the eraser or 'cut & move' something, it will be the default back color instead of 'white'
cooooorrrr!!! I am soooo gonna have a go at using both colours together later on!!! can't wait!! :D thanks, EB! ps: you're inspiring a lot of people with this icon drawing business, did you know that?
Hint for ge 7/ 48 please.
Babs - i'm honored! I think it's fun to do...!!
et 4/5 A set of principles of right conduct
aly - don't have it yet...sorry M3 - what you might do if you laugh to hard (pe___ my pants!)
m3 - pe4/5 spell it w/ a different 2nd vowel
pe4/5 - change the last letter of the pe4/6 above it ge7/48 - add a high scoring letter to ge6/27
Just three nasty little devils to go. sy4/8 te6/24 te7/36 An y ideas out there? pleeeease
thanks dsp!
thanks !
sy4/8 - short for a VD te6 and 7 - person/people who are good at computers, etc. Same root word as te6/27
the only ge i found is the bird how do I add to a ge6 since I don't have it Thx.:)
Thanks Bugzy!
ge5/16 is a rock with crystals inside; ge6/27 is the plural; ge7/48 is the plural plus a high-scoring letter
Thank You Bugzy Just googled it got them all!!
You're both welcome :)
babs r u there? work interrupted me...
Thanks Bugzy, the penny's dropped at last. I didn't think I would finish this one, I found it quite complicated.
.. just got back, T-Owl! been listening to the free mp3s of The Vibrants. REally enjoying them! Fave song - Bullet
Someone mentioned The Vibrants a while back. I had a quick listen, but it's not my kind of music.
WTG, ExWren.. It was difficult - all those 6's and 7's were tough for me
i am just going to their site - cannot get them to play on sonicbids
i'm playing them in www.garageband.com
sonic bids is where we have an account - it's one stop shopping for potential acts, so i need to get into there to review them in our account...ty i will swtich sites since their site has only clips - sound good so far!
it won't be any hardship to go scout them, next time they're round my way!!!! :D
babs - i LIKE....
... thought you might!!!!! :D
Hi guys, just passing through while i paint my nails..... Hubster hates the smell, so i stay out of his way till it dries!!!!
what colour lotti? and are you listening to The Vibrants? T-Owl told us about them. go to www.garageband.com for free mp3 downloads! (scroll down for the Cliff Notes)
Hi lotti!
*stomping foot through the floor*

yay karys!*dances over pulls karys to dance floor*
oh wow, mab, what an icon!!!! what kind of bird is it?
thank you ...thank you....* bowing all round *...xxx
*Babs moves the handbags out of the way*
Karys - did you have your head in the ground working on the grid??
LOL Babs.....hurshy..is that a birdie ?
I did...I did...Blue.....wasn't I good !!!
well, it's phil mickelson after he scored a birdie on the 18th hole at augusta to win the 2004 masters. :)
very creative, hurshy!!! LOL!! :D
It is an Eastern Bluebird. They are pretty birds that for a while were somewhat scarce due to habitat displacement. They are country birds that need a large amount of space between pairs of birds.
LOL EB...!!!! Well it`s dry now, so off i go :) If you see Tor.....please give him this (((((((xxx))))))) See ya :) xx
there you are then....its only taken me all day to figure that out !!!!.......please don't call me slow !!!
Karys - that's why I always take forever doing the puzzle...I say (to myself)..."I'm not going to chat"....and then (usually within moments) jump into the chat!
EB, you look like me...Maybe we are related.
bye, lotti!
The chat is where it's at!!!!!! (Yoink said it first.... credit where it's due!)
By Lotti.
b'bye lotti!!! will do! :D
I always feel guilty if I'm chatting instaed of babbling....and it's supposed to be a game !!!
Good evening, everyone - I was on earlier in the day and am hoping to get a few more done. My icon's a bull finch by the way...
mab - maybe I should have your ic 4!! Just add a 'bird' to my name!!
Bye Lotti! Hi Haz!
Eastern Blue -- you should have my icon. I like yours better though.
thanks babbler. i love phil. i have a t-shirt with a stylized version of this picture, underneath it says "Air Phil".
JW - maybe you, Bugzy & I are triplets (look back for her pix too!)
hi Haz : D

Hello Sherry!
Just saw Bugzy's icon...We have such excellent taste, don't ya think?

Hello Karys, are we all enjoying the grid?
got to look for something green now for tomorrow havn't we ?
*hurshy grins for she has her green ic4 all prepared*
Back from Safari ....... will begin again Wednesday -
Hi Alleyn!
you went on SAFARI? wow.
Missed you all ............
Allyen: Where did you go in Africa?
why are the simplest words the hardest to find? Sa4???
pbr - probably because there is no sa4
mab - we said almost the same thing!
hurshy --duh..that's because it is a 5/16 thx -- now I have something to look for!
wow Alleyn!!!! hello! :D
why is it saying that word doesn't exist in my puzzle when in fact it does its right in front of my face they all connect and everything
shorty, what word?
Shorty: refresh, or logout/login! sometimes it sets things right.
its hi4/6
EB: I noticed. I know I'm not thinking clearly when it takes an actual photograph of a bird to make the association with your screen name. Oh yeah, Easter Blue.....bird!
there finally it took ty
South Africa. Amazing! Stayed in Falaza Game Park and also went through HLUHLUWE-UMFOLOZI. Giraffes, Zebras, Elephants and so much more..........
Sounds wonderful. I went into the bush of Zimbabwe a few years ago. The sounds of the animals, especially at night, and seeing them without a barrier between one and them is incredible. That's great that you went. I never saw giraffes, except in the distance, very far away.
Will try and give you animals rather than grandchildren for the next week or so ........ failing miserably this evening but after a good night's sleep who knows?
Alleyn...wow...sounds wonderfully exotic! never been on safari, but I think it would be so cool!
mab - actually, my name is part of my last name & my favorite color...I didn't even know there was an eastern bluebird until your pix today! : ) LOL!
& blow me I've managed a joke giraffe! Had intended on using my photos but tomorrow is another day.
mab - I always joked with my husband that if we ever had money to spare & wanted to buy a racehorse, I would name it Eastern Blue... 8 D
hi shorty - didn't see you sneak in! ...and Haz too! ...and Sherry...
hey eastern blue
Oh yes, please, Alleyn. I love seeing photos that people take on their adventures. Welcome back.... You know what I mean. EB: there is a western bluebird too, that looks slighltly different. My ex-sister-in-law has a country home in Dutchess County, NY and has a pair of bluebirds each year. They are lovely.
Hi Eastern! I'm very inconspicuous (don't even know if it's written like that..) today...
not the same bluebird from the Shirley Temple film?
mab - bluebirds & cardinals are both so pretty...
Sherry - you're probably being good & actually working on the puzzle! (I'm on conf. calls at work & trying to Babble at the same time!)
Eastern: lol! Yeah, I wanna finish that one.
I'm crazy about birds of all kinds. I don't remember the bird in Shirley Temple, although I saw every one of those movies multiple times as a child. I think my mother was hoping I might be influenced.
I think I've seen it once....... they made it for her cos she had a bit of a strop cos she wasn't in the Wizard of Oz! (or so legend has it) :D
mab - hee hee hee! the only thing I don't like is the Alfred Hitchcock "THE BIRDS"...freaks me out every time birds swoop around me now!
i hate that film The Birds............. *shudders*
Babbler: my mom saw it and eversince, she hates it when there's a flock of birds flying by, like in autumn! lol!
thank goodness that never happened to me!!! can you imagine me in Trafalgar Square if it did!!! LOL! :D
Babs...I'm with you - back in my high school days - I ran track (oh to be that fit again!)...running past a hedge on the sidewalk - a flock of winter swallows (I don't the actual name) swooped out around me...I screamed so loud 2 cars driving by stopped & made sure I was o.k.!! I was MORTIFIED (as any teenager would be...)
oh, EB, you poor thing!!! something along those lines happened to me a couple of years ago...... I was out for a walk somewhere in Dulwich (leafy London), and I walked past a big house, protected by ge5..... and one came after me!!!! All the drivers were looking at me run away!! LOL! :D
EB, that would be a great name for a horse. A friend here has a thoroughbred, a retireed racehorse. He is her second as the first she bought was just too poorly socialized to even be stabled with other horses. Ollie, however, has been wonderful. Ok got to go. Waiting for call from vet about my cat's blood test. Back later. (we can't get DSL or whatever it is, here because of the mountain/hills; and I wouldn't be able to afford it anyway).
hey Babbler...how's everything?
hey mark, great thanks!!! (ooh ooh! got your cd on order....should be here soon!) how are things with you? :D
bye mab...I hope everything is o.k. with your kitty!!
bye mab, and good luck to your cat, hope all is ok. :D
Bye Mab!
Babs - HONK! HONK!
oh don't, EB!! I can still remember all those faces watching me dash by!!! LOL!!! :D:D:D:D
I can't figure out either of the CH6's or the one ch7--any ideas? pls
Think dairy food pbr...
Mice are supposed to like this stuff.
pbr: ch6: typical French food apart from wine and baguette
and I've run out of the stuff and MUST get some soon! :D
Babs...the ge 5 just wanted to be close to you coz you're so nice!! 8 D
awwwww!!! that was probably it, EB! thank you *chuckling like crazy* :D
Anj?? you back yet? you lurking?

de 6/24 - add instrument of communication minus h, then past tense for 7
Hi Deutsch!
Thanks can't believe I missed that
sherry...ro6.....sounds like 'rock'
hi Deutsch....
Hi Eastern! Another original icon?
de 5/14 - refers to how a room looks in its appearance
Don't you hate it when you dance all around a word... think it's what you're lookinh for, but think, no, that's stupid, that can't be a word? then it IS the word you've been looking for??? That's what I've been doing with the second se5/16 for the past 20 minutes. SHEESH!!!
ro4/7.....minus letter from ro5 above
Hey, Lupe!
hi mari!
Jury duty eh??? what fun!
Haz 1558 - thanks a million

Hi EasternBlue - are you well?
they're cool, babbler and Eastern! gonna have to try that some time.
well, Babbler...my concert went well...hope my cd arrives soon for u
Jera - it's an awful thing when that happens...I was going crazy last night looking for a word I already had!
Hi Mark! Glad the concert went well! Anxiously awaiting my CD as well!
so Deustch - were they GUILTY??? *evil grin*
glad your concert went well!!! what was this other compilation cd you told us about, that one of your tracks was chosen for?
Green for Evanadine! How was the snow down your way?
LOL EB
u know Lupe, you live quite close to another performer on the CD...my sister's outside of Chicago (she plays flute on 3 trax)
Oh well, guess I'm the only one that crazy... *leaves chat & dives back into grid*
Karys: got the ep ok but not the ro 4/7...
didnt get any time off today, but my dance studio was closed last night...only a few inches, nothing big... but it sure was beautiful while it lasted!
Really? That's great! Where does she live??
Eastern, for the first time in a long time, I was not picked for the trial! It would have been interesting, too. It was a homicide.
ooohh JERA...you missed my post...I've done that often (as well as looking for words I already had!!!)
Jera.... that's true for me too!!!! :D
i do not have any details on the compilation CD right now...all i know is i'm on it. for more info, u can join the Mark Bowers Music Group on Yahoo Groups (u may get an email re: this later)
I just have 2 words left... de 5 (not interior design) and de 6 (not codebreaking). Clues please : )
hi evenadine...I'm trying to think of something GREEN for tomorrow...maybe an elf??
the ro4/7 is an alternative spelling for the 5/16
sherry -- thx for the first ch6 and 7 -- how 'bout the remaining ch6?
i think im gonna use my earth faerie that i used on faerie day...heh
de 5 is what you need to do to your car if it's frosty
Thanks Haz, it was right in front of me all along!
eva - excellent choice - if I remember correctly - that one was so pretty!
pbr: che6: same root as the other che + adverb ending
The other ch 6 is the adjective
Good TL - have you finished now?
Ok Haz! got de5! thanks!
im sure ill find a few others and change outfits throughout the day! ;)
thx mark, I'll keep an eye out for it. my confirmation email from cd baby was really funny...... so I wrote a funny one back!! LOL!! (not sure they got my sense of humour though.... :D )
Thanks again Haz
All done!
lol Babbler
Haz1558 -- thanks! Gotta sign off for now -- will be back later -- haven't done much of the puzzle YET.

Hi guys, finished hours ago but just thought I'd drop in
Hurshy: still stuck with the se6 and the archived newspaper and the pe about kids...toffee ahead...lol!
I still don't know how old Miya is.....may I ask ..or is it not quite the thing ?
hurshy - I would concur...she's a lovely girl & quite clever (more so than I ever was at her age!)
Hi Yoink!
Hi Yoink!
ok, well alt clue for pe5: think of a bug with many legs and use the ending (plural)
Miya is 13......... amazing, isn't she? (((((((( Yoink !! )))))))))

Gosh Babs....she is very mature forthat age !!!
Hi Sherry, Eastern (((((Babbler)))))
*Babs hugs the nearest cushion....... so flattered to be thought so young at heart!!*
Hi Yoink :)
babs - i was serious before about being old at heart. :) i love old books, old movies, old music, etc etc.
Karys se 6 somrthing that happens on a lake
i get along very well with my grandmother - we have the same lifestyle.
I must be ok then hurshy !!!
Hurshy: se5/14 was actually a French word for some sort of ugly fish!
so you're a fogey in the making, eh hurshy? (I love that word!) I love all those too : )
se 6/21 includes German for I followed by a vowel
karys - you've always been ok with me. :) sherry - meaning? these words have meaning?
Hi Karys :) Hurshy me too, though I like new music, books and movies too, there are loads of old ones that are right up there for me
hursh - do you have a favourite era that really resonates with you?
Yvo...ty...but it was sherry needed it !
Babs/hurshy - I'm with you...sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era!
Sorry didnt watch very well
OUIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! I'm done! Thanks Hurshy and all!
oooh Yoink!!! I discovered www.garageband.com today!! T-Owl asked if I'd heard of The Vibrants. I hadn't, so i looked, and found this site!!! it's so fab!
babs - depends on the medium. in movies i love cary grant, katherine hepburn, etc. in music i love all the way from sinatra to rock and roll. although i think i would also love really old music, like from jane austen's era, only of course they couldn't record it then. in books i love jane austen, and mostly 19th century british lit.
bravo Sherry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! *tosses a fresh can of 1664 over*
Yvo....but you helped nicely ...lol
congrats Sherry!
Thanx hurshy that gave me enough clue to finally get it

that's a nice open mind you have there, Karys : )
nobody's taking anybody, karys. babs adopted me, so i'm your granddaughter.
Hurshy: talking 'bout 19th century Britain, I'm a big Hornblower fan. Breches.......why do guys don't wear these anymore...and the frilly gaping shirts....*sighs*
Karys...I think it means that hurshy is now your grandchild!
lol - poor sherry.
gosh hurshy....lucky me....a grown grandaughter already !!!...ty xxx
We might be giving Macadam, lola, lotti & FMitch a run for their money for family size! 8 D
and *i* have an adopted son who babbles, raolen, so you now have a GREAT-grandchild, karys. :)
oh yeah....... hadn't thought about the age thing, hurshy!
ooooo...now...the frilly shirts....I did like those !!
mmmmmm...... Colin Firth as Darcy................
it's ok babs - as you said age doesn't matter in babble. i've semi-adopted raolen in REAL life, and he's only 10 years younger than me.
dear,dear,dear,.....if we go on at this rate I shall need a little lie down !!
Right gals! Vin Diesel is waiting for me so..I'm leaving! See ya tomorrow! Wearing of the green! ;)

So who do I get to look at me Babs?
A clue for the G/7? Thanks

te 6/24 - slang for the computer support guy in the company. te7 plural
Babs, the one with the website on it? I'm listening to a song off there now, in the Americana section, not bad. The talk of adoption and grandkids and great grandkids brought to mind some song lyrics i was told about recently by thr Grateful Dead, too much to post so http://www3.clearlight.com/~ac sa/introjs.htm?/~acsa/songfile /I2MMYOWN.HTM if you want to see them, pretty funny
Great, hurshy, thanks!
Yoink - I have to say that I LOVE your Big Bird picture...I cried when Jim Henson passed away... Are you going to be Kermit tomorrow??

Hey Babs, were you ever into Kenickie?
now that rings a bell, Yoink. Lauren Laverne was in that band, wasn't she? (or a band that began with K)
Yep, she was. I've been reminiscing and listening to their albums tonight
I never got any of their albums.... but I remember I liked them. I love Lauren Laverne, she's ace! :D
She sure is, I saw them at Glastonbury in '98 ( i think) and she was hilarious, so witty

last word need to find (besides ro) is the last se6/24, then I can start decorating
that's a relief, evan.... did you go get some help today?
se6/24: A wave that oscillates in lakes, bays, or gulfs from a few minutes to a few hours as a result of seismic or atmospheric disturbances. google for the word
speedfreak-- I thought there was only one ro/14 use the ro/4 that you tie knots in and make it past tense.
nah, new health care plan at work. raised my co pay, i can't really afford to unless it turns green...but i think it's good. don't look infected and doesn't hurt much.
Thank you, yoink. I guess you're out of the "said a word" corner now!
evanout what did you do to your hand?
you could still pop into a pharmacy and get some help there. they're usually pretty good. but it's your hand, it's up to you. (not pushing you...... much!) : D
i burned it shorty, on the stinking wood burner.
se+ something you scratch misspelt
oh ouch
real bad or a little?
i'm thinking that if i was able to flip through case work for 12 hours today, it must not be too bad. i swear if it oozes, stinks, or turns funny colors, i'll get it checked out.
shorty, small area, big burn. or deep burn? whatever, freaked me out when i saw it.
oooooowwweeee
Thank you messed up Finally I swear last word....The very last ro5/16 That is it honest
I'm sorry
speed, you sound like a smoker trying to quit
speed, use the q.......... sounds like rock
well thank you shorty, however, i'm fairly certain you weren't there pushing my finger into the door.
Sorry to be a pain in the butt...
speedfreak-- some one left the clue to use the double letter square, i monkey typed the rest.
Thank you Babbler and everyone else I have 0 words left to find. Hope everyone has a wonderful evening. See you on green day....
woohoo speed
could someone please give me a hint for the ch 5 letter word. thank you
bravo speed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (those last few words were beasts!!) xxx
kerhog: ch5 - To scold mildly so as to correct or improve; reprimand:
kerhog - think swiss! smelly too
kerhog-- if you've done something bad, someone might ch*** you
DUH... THAT WAS THE ch/6 sorry
if you have the ch 4/7 just add a vowel
thats okay i needed the ch/6 too. thank you all
any hints on the ch6/30 and ch7?
PO 5/14? PO 6/27?
ch6/30: like our ch**** grins :D ch7/40: we can get ch***** off when it takes us ages to find words! (both of these things make lovely sandwiches!)
harp: pimp, then past tense your hawk is most disconcerting - it's looking straight at me! : D
......... or is it an owl?
thank you Babbler, i had found the 7 but the other 6 had eluded me!
whatever it is, it's certainly no cow.
It's an owl. I have a really cool chicken but couldn't get it to download. Don't know any pimps, will have to think about that clue....
try p +on4/5
time for me to draw tomorrow's icon.......... I'll flit in and out of the chat log, to see if anyone needs clues..... so just hang in there if you need me!! :D
Babbler used a wooooord, Babblyer used a woooord, (tweeeeet, twee- tweeeet, tweet tweeeeeeeeet)!
Pe 6/21?
tatter tale
*Babs throws Harp some birdseed* sssssssssshhhhhh! pe6 - add a consonant to pe5 above it
hidee ho! I'm back!
Thank you for the bird seed, Babbler. As you can guess, I usually like fresh meat......
*throws a fish at harpjane*
*Babs protects her hamster from yesterday* cooo-eeeee EB! :D
Babs - what are you making as your ic 4 - tomorrow??
i dunno yet, EB......... just started........ *thinking very hard*......*maybe need my artist's beret*
it should be a cow of course
*hands Babs a paintbrush as inspiration*
Just changed from "owl buddy" to "fiizzled hen buddy"
evanout - a green cow??
green, no, they are being painted orange right now...hunting season.
i haven't said anything to show off the birdie icon so here i will say something..."something".
evanout...I was just a wee bit confused as tomorrow's theme for picts is "green"...and then saw your comment about the cow...I put 2 and 2 together and came up with zero (I was never that good in math!!)
well halloo spatialbean
EB did you draw your cardinal? Berry berry cute.
hmmmm, i am knowing nothing about this green theme thing, where does one find the theme?
are there any clues for co6/24? I think my brain is no longer working.
but the answer to babs question is then quite obvious, she must make a booger.
never mind, thats not what I am missing!
evanout - it's in Babbler's "bio"...(click on her 'person') icon to see the bio... Spatial - yes...I did draw my cardinal...thanks!
someday i'm going to go pro, then i shall boggle your minds with my icons, until then i shall admire and enjoy!
i've never seen a cardinal in person. they must be beautiful.
evanout...we shall await the day with great anticipation! 8 D
* winks at easternblue * i rather thought you would :-P
spatial - we've had one in the back yard of our apt...he is quite beautiful!! I never have my camera when i see him tho!
Babbler, can you make, "great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts....?"
thanks harp...now I have the song going thru my mind all nite!
lord how i love alliteration
oh how pretty EB. I love birds.
Babbler, do the children sing that song in the UK?
harp - as an FYI...she's 'painting' her picture for tomorrow - so not looking at the chat quite as much (just so you don't think you're being ignored!)
Spatial - so true...I'd love to get a photo of him sometime!
.......... like..... eeuuuuwwww! you guys! yeuch! boogers, green gobs......*shudders in a ladylike manner* no, harp, don't know that song..... :D

awwwww 8 missing but too tired to fight.....
Good evening everyone, I needs some help on my e's. Any clues on the following please, ed5/14 ep5/16 ey4/6 i have the one that ends with an 'n' and the other one is pl of what you are using to see this note.
hi tbear!
this is the bird that lives down the road from me - he's a red shoulder hawk
don't have ed 5 ep 5/16 - period in time/era
Got the ey4/6 now need the others.
jeepers, my eyes are crossing...i cant' see!
marc - ey - 1) past tense of looking at something 2) switch the last 2 letters of the ey (not plural)
renny - beautiful!!
guys think of the oe6/24 and remove the o
that was for the ed5/14
EasternBlue the ep5/16 isn't that the 4/6
cr5/12 cr7/36 both en's... and then I'll be done --- help with clues please! (And thanks in advance)
ep 4/6 - is the 'novel' (like Homer's Odyssey) ep 5/16 - is the length of time - period in history... A particular period of history, especially one considered remarkable or noteworthy. A notable event that marks the beginning of such a period. See
ch1212 what bing crosby does and what he does in past tense cr 2/12 etc
cr - think of Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra singing a song...they were cr____(ers)...& the 7 is the past tense of the singing...
add en to co 4/6 and past tense
Thanks EB and Spatialbean ... I'm smacking my head with the Idaho trout, and me, a Bing fan! Thanks.
ch1212 - *I'm dreaming of a White Christmas...*
Thanks again! Done! Anyone need help with clues before I start dinner?
hi all. newbie here. question for the group ... some words i've found just by trying random letters together ... they come up as words on the puzzle, but are not in the dictionary. enlighten me please? :-)
ch1212....only 6 to go...the other ro5/16 not the one you hang on to ...pls
luvmypom - the grid uses the Enable dictionary - some of the 'words' are derivations & won't supply the meaning...some we 'see' in many grids & those are commonly referred to as "Babbleverse" words!
luvmypom - welcome too!
luvmy - i believe the words are based on the enable dictionay
tbear, think of a type of cheese and drop the 'fort' at the end.
tbear - I don't have the 'r's' yet...
anyone...pls co5/14 the third one???
tbear, co5/14 third one -- it's the plural of the co4/6
ch1212....thx,had tried for ages...
switch the last letter to plural...from the 4 2 above it...
do you have co 5/16? drop the last letter and add a different consonant.
EB............. right....... I have 2 ready........ wanna see?
Babs - fire away!!
thanks easternblue and renfield. Had to go Google 'Enable Dictionary" lol I guess my rookie stripes are showing aren't they. sure seems like a friendly group here. hope you don't mind my lurking.
no.1............ called White Spot
luvmypom.....new addicts always welcome....BEWARE ALL YE WHO ENTER HERE....you'll be sorry :)
Babs - simple yet it makes a statement!
luvie - lurk away...but I find it's fun to jump in the chat! 8 D
no.2 ................ (looks better in Paint)
tbear - shhhhhhhhhhh..... we're not supposed to talk about the *whispers* addiction!!
luvmy - some days we feel like a lurk - somedays we don't 8)
tbear -- hooked already ... the unfolded laundry tells the grim news. lol
I think I like 2 a little more - reminds me (a little) of Piet Mondrian (altho he used Red/Yellow/Blue)
and the dinner that sits growing cold and moldy
luvie - at least your laundry is done...I have mound ready to take over my apt!
when i grow up i want to be able to chat and babble and the same time. haha
i did it by a total fluke! I highlighted a section I wanted to zoom into.......... and moved it instead!! So I chopped it all up! great fun! :D
Thx for the clues guys but had all those... gunna be brave and go to sleep with only 5 missing......good luck the rest of you brave soldiers....XX
tbear - are you sure we can't help in some way??
n'nite tbear............ sure you don't want those 5 words? I've finished and i can help?
nite tbear. thanks for the warm welcome :)
i working in paint brush on my left hand for tomorrow's green day
tbear - otherwise...nightie - nite! (that is, if I have 'em!)
sleep well tbear
luvie - the puzzle gets done faster w/out the chat...but I can't resist the pull of the log!
luvie - by the way...do you know about the 2nd letter list??
Thx all of you ......can't be bothered to work out what i need....but really appreciate the offers...anyway why changew the habit of a lifetime and get serious and actually finish a puzzle...only ever finished 3
tbear...sweet dreams!
You're all lovely and Bear Hugs all round....ZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzz
thanks EB -- I did a little lurking before buying in. I had wondered what the two letters clues were about. Found the Anonymous site. It is a definite help!
EB - btw.. laundry done. dishes ... not so much. :P
yes...swmbo (another player) set up the Bab Anon..Brandy Jack posts the stats daily (when he can)...
Where does Brandy Jack get them? From Dr_God?
luvie - ooo...dishes done (hubby)...laundry not (but I do have to go to the laundry mat - which makes it a little more of an effort!)
luvie - he has a computer program which generates the stats...
I have a program that generates the entire wordlist and then gernerates the stats from that.
Hi Brandyjack!! Did you see the article Dr G wrote? You're mentioned!!! :D
ah - there he is himself! Hello BrandyJack! Love your bluejay!
hi brandy! hi babbler!
hooo boy, i just found the naughty word. i love it when there are naughty words.
EB - *refresh*........... I just chopped up the first pic! :D
hi brandyjack -- i'm a newbie just being brought up to speed around here. you must be a programmer?
Havne't read it yet. Thought you had to pay to read it.
Brandyjack, do you still post the 2nd letter list? If so, do you remember what time today (so I'll have a general idea where to look)? Thanks!
you do.......
Babs - very nice...similar in fashion to your other...
there's a naughty word? i usually get those first
yes.......... I'm gonna play with chop up till my next big discovery! lol ! :D
i'd love to pay to read it, but then i couldn't really justify not having an icon.
I write a few programs. But I don't go near any serious programming languages like C++ or any of the C variants. In fact, the program this is written in is old GWBasic from the PC-XT days........
evanonut-- do you mean the po/4 word? *hee hee*
that's it luvmypom! i have a certain fondness for that word. i like the way it sounds
omg brandyjack -- i had to do a tiny bit of basic "back in the day" -- my brother is a programmer, but old school cobalt stuff.
hi ren!! (soz for delay........... it's my artistic temperament, donchyouknow!) :D
evanonut -- the way it sounds ... or the way it looks? lol *climbing out of the gutter now*
hokie - you can always find it under the right-hand link - Babblers Anonymous - General - Daily Stats...
luvy, both (on way it looks in word form only may i clarify) its right up there with peruse and despise.
Babs - you're as bad as I am now!!
Babs, Eastern, you are so inspiring to me. I'm going to have to play with Paint -- perhaps I too can be a Windows artiste! I liked very much your icons today, and I like what Babs has just done. You're right Eastern, it is a bit Mondrian.
Thanks, Eastern Blue. I didn't know such a thing existed. I had to step away from the Babble for a while.
EB........ this new addiction with Paint is sooooo gonna rival my addiction to Babble!! LOL!! (just chopping up pic no.2 some more........ tee hee! ) :D
so 'k babbler - you're looking really marvelous in green
yayyyyyyyy Mab!!! Paint is FAB!! :D
i'm back to my robin now, ren. *rfresh* to see it.... kinda reminds me of my diddy babba blob niece, who's 7 months and fat and gorgeous! :D
Renny: who is the photographer in your family? I'm really keen on birds. I find raptors fascinating. Your icon is fabulous.
I finally figured out what that icon is luvmypom. I just couldn't see the little guy. All I could see was a closeup of what looked like a cows head......... As for Cobol. I almost went and bought glasses after looking at that stuff a few times........
can i ask anyone if there is a qu word and a clue if that is possible. thank you
my husband - mezzie
does anyone have a word total as well.
yes it means to lock up....... and 158 words
thanks does it sound like anything
sounds like mod
thank you
yw
brandyjack, I won't tell my little 4 lb Sophie you thought she looked like a cow's head. lol
Thar's a face in that there fur! Excuse me for interrupting. Your Sophie is adorable. My Sophie is a black cat who weighs upwards of 12 lbs.!
brandy - is your sphie a maine coon? my maine coon is 15 lbs
mab -- that's too funny. I have a black persian "Napoleon" -- he's 12-13 lbs too. No small man's complex there! Oh, and in Sophie's defense, the pict was a little distorted on the upload. :)
sorry - i meant Sophie - time to put on my glasses
Ren: my sophie is a shorthaired domestic whatever black cat. luvmy's cat is a pekinese dog!
her eyes are almost invisible so her black nose in the white muzzle looks like an eyeball and the little mouth below looks like a shadow. Maybe I'm just seeing things after that Charolais bull that was in here yesterday....
I'll have to take her for new "head shots". Don't want any confusion for an alien beast of some sort. :-D
i love charolais - and puppies and kitties - i have also have an oriental short hair (all black) that runs the house
ok - time for a grammar lesson - to many haves
brandyjack, if it's any comfort, the phenomenon of not seeing icons for what they are happens often to me. It took me weeks to really see Lola's icon (not sure who it was) of the blond woman.
you and me both........ that was one wierd icon....
just popped back to say goodnight............. gotta stop messing about in Paint and go to bed! :D see you tomorrow! xxx
Good night, dear Babbler.
sleep well babbler
mab - sorry - I stepped away for a bit...thanks for your compliments...and do jump into Paint - it's fun!!! NIGHT Babs!! Sweet dreams!!!

easternbird-thanks! Got the oe right away, but the other clues are confusing me....the past of the seeing things is a 4/7 not a 4/6, and I'm sorry for being so dense, but don't get either of the other clues. I feel like I've tried all the baby doctor combos and still haven't hit on it. Any other clues?
crash cool - the term for someone really good at computers/other mechanical things, and the plural. te__nology
eva - for the pe ... someone who walks is a pe_ _ _trian...

Hi T-Owl!
Hi Temple Owl.

has anyone here posted to EZ board? I want to post a recipe, but i am not sure if i reply to the last recipe, or begin a new topic...
T-Owl...I think you can start a new topic...but I'm not too sure!
got the py!
Reply to the last recipe and edit the subject line is the best way.
thanks brandy jack! what is your icon today?
Dominar Rygel XVI. From farescape tv series...
it is cool...well bye everyone! happy babbling - i'm off to ez board...until tomorrow!
eva - ro 4/7 - like the 'lasso' material, but with a 'higher value letter instead of the 'e'
the ro is done Just need: sa 5/ 16 se 5/ 16 te 5/ 14
bye T-Owl...see you tomorrow!
monkey typed the sa5
sa - be careful of what you sa _ + Freud's Ego "opposite"
se 5 16 sounds like when your ready for a nap. just take out the second letter.
YAY SueL! Now, not to be greedy, but how about that last te5/14?
te 5 is a bad smell without the s
Thank you so much Sue L & EasternBlue!!! Now I can go to sleep. Anyone need any help first?
Eva - no, but thanks...just getting into the S's & T's...with clues just given, I've gotten a few already! Sweet dreams!

ep + type of poem .... and then the plural _ _ _ On a Grecian Urn...
SueL - ep + a form of poetry for the and then it's plural.
My ability to speak English is clearly deteriorating. Too much monkey typing.
thank you sooooo much
eva - plus it's late!
By this time of night brain dead is the best description for me.
Howdy Y'all! I'm back again for another go at it. I'm only missing 2 of the S words. Please help. SE 4/5 (have sewing term, how a plant starts, and To pass slowly through small openings or pores) SE 6/24 THanks.
My thrill for the day was the return of the birds to my feeder which, some of you know, I was reticent to put back out as the bears ate the last one, and I didn't know if they were safely asleep yet. Time will tell, but after waiting for 3 days, this morning I awoke to the wonderful sight of the chickadees diving at the feeder. They are such wonderfully audacious little critters and always the first to come.
Hi to All! Minski - se4 -- appear to be
minski- how about the other one that sounds like the sewing term and means to appear (to)?
Hi Woulfie!!!
se 6 and something you scratch but not the exact spelling.
minski - past tense of sewing term 6/24
Hi EB -- I've been lurking while working on the board -- thanks for all teh clues you gave me ;)
Woulfie - always a pleasure to help when I can!
woo hoo!! Finished!
I'm doing pretty good -- I started tonight with only 14 words found and in a little over an hour I have only 17 to go -- I'll give a list in a few after I get tired of trying on mh own :)
Greetings. It's 10 below (F) here. (Just bragging!)
OK the SE6/24 I'm missing is the 2nd one. THe 2nd to last word. I have the sewing term one.
harp = where are you??? (so I know NOT to move there!!!)
Forget it. Found it. Thanks SueL. I didn't understand your hint at first but I looked again and figured it out.
se 6 - See SueL's clue at 10:15...
woo hoo! way to go Minski!
Yeah Harp. They keep telling us it is going to get cold here in Boston and it is only 30 degrees F. Warm considering but it is supposed to be in the teen tomorrow.
Montana. I'm in an area that's usually pretty mild. We have a week or two below zero ususally, and the rest is around freezing. Not too bad.
I have a cousin who lives in Montana. I'll have to look up her town. It's a small one about 2.5 hours from Big Sky but that's all I know from memory.
bird icons today?
harp...just not quite ready for that cold - cold yet! Where I grew up (northern NY...we often had weeks on end below zero (F) - one year at Christmas (home from college) the warmest it got for the month was -15 below!!!
Yes, Toe :)
good night all thanks for the clues.
Toes - you got it! You were in the puzzle the other day! 8 D
Night SueL...thanks for your clues too!
harp-always nice to hear from someone who lives in a colder place. We are just getting into it here - and last winter had a month or so with temps in the -20's at night and rarely above 0 during the day. I have developed an unhealthy love affair with our woodstoves, and the cat has deserted my bed to lie in front of the one in the livingroom. he's no fool - warmth comes before love.
I seems to show up in the suzzle often! :) I like it... makes me feel... ninja! lol Alright so today is a bird and tomorrow what are we doing?
harp-what is the icon?! Can't make it out but it looks sort of like a fuzzy bunch of bananas.
I think its feathers!
Toes - today - birds...tomorrow (Wed) - Green...(the color or whatever you interpret it to be!!)
Eastern! Thank yoooou :)
HarpJane ~ Found it! THey live in Red Lodge.
Toes - "eastern" was in a puzzle once..I missed that day (I think it was Thanksgiving...) but several people said they "saw" me that day!...makes you feel loved!
Morning everyone, time for my morning rush. Still need 55 words, only 25 minutes til I need to start work. Eyes down for a full house!!!!!
Hi Ishult!
EVA-didn't see your post. It was a frizzled hen. There's a bird in there. Really! I just changed it, and I can't get it back. Too bad!
Hi ish...let me know if you need clues!
hey all - working on my green for tomorrow 8)
Hi ren!
hey gw - how ia it going today?
I need a hint for sa5 please?
east lol I agree :)
Not bad, ren -- much closer to finishing today Only 9 to go -- I think I can do that in the next hour and a half ;D
sa 5 - be careful what you sa_ + Opposite of Freud's Ego
Man! My woodstock icon won't post because is bmp :P
I am back, can you believe it I am still looking for a clue for ed5/14
Woulfie...I hope so...you were so close last night! I don't think I'll stay for the 'change-over!'
EB-thanks. Thought I tried that! Now I"m stuck on the last se 5/14? Help?
Sure I can, Marc -- I need it, too! :)
Missing 2 cr's Cr5- got old hag cr7 any clues?
cr5 -- singing style (think Bing Crosby) cr7 is past tense
ed 5/14--swelling. Add an O for the oe word. Same word was in last night's puzzle.
almost like the 'toilet' tank without the T
cheers GreyWoulf
cr - Bing Crosby & Frank Sinatra would cr _ _ _ tunes...and past tense of that

Thanks GW too!
Thanks got the ed, could someone give me a clue on ge7/48 I have all the other g's
I'm done for the night. I still have 47 words left to find but it's almost midnight and time for bed. Thanks all for the help. See you tomorrow.
hello all... only two left de 6/24 and 7/40 (second- and third- to last on the de list) Any help?
hilary ...LOL! yes...I was! (altho I'm not a mom yet!!)
Night Minski!
add a y to your 6/27
Can't get the oe6 -- the clue earlier did nothing for me :\
Marc - add a "y' to your ge 6
de + secret words (it's a co 5) & plural
woulfie - do you have the ed 6??
eastern, i have those two... it is the last 6/7 combo in the de list
se 5/14? toilet tank? huh? Sorry. I need another hint.
Thanks Eastern
Wish I could help you LeslieAnn, but I don't have them either :)
Hello :) I was looking at the se5/16 clues earlier and didn't understand the hints. I still need both.
harp...some people have a "se_ _ _ _" tank instead of municipal sewage... for the se 6 - remove the "t"
That's why it confused me -- there is no ed 6 -- it's the var spell of the ed 5 -- got it now :D
marc - y/w
Woulfie...counting is not my forte!
ha, i got it. it is de + po 4/5 and past tense.
Thanks, LeslieAnn!
Eastern--Got it! Thank you! All I could think of was my toilet tank handle, which needs to be jiggled until the plumber comes!
missyme, one is like a sl****hammer, but take out the L
Wolf-I miss the "eye of the owl" pic.
lol, harpjane
the other adds a y to your se 4/5, the one that means water could se** into your basement
harp - LOL!!!
1st r6/24?
OK gang, now I'm stuck on one of the se 4 words. I have the thing you plant, and the two homonyms. Enlighten me, o birdies!
harpjane - because you like it -- here you go *refresh*
harp - the stuff that 'leeks"
ish - def. A white ceremonial vestment made of linen or lawn, worn by bishops and other church dignitaries.
ish - you could also think of launching a ro _ _ _ _ _ into space (witH a different letter instead of K)
Thank you GW!
got it ty
Eastern--got it! Thanks.
yw, harpjane help with the de6/30, please?
de + you watched the football ___ last night
de 6/30 de + g4. I guess it means to stop playing Babble.
Strange...I have two words on my grid list that are spelled exactly the same. How'd that happen? its one of the "sy" words that's repeated. :)
Eastern what does y/w mean?
I never would have considered that to be legit word in a hundred years!
marc - you're welcome....
Missy - the 2 letters in the middle are reversed
missyme - refresh -- sometimes the page glitches like that
Woulfie - me either!
harp - LOL!
GW we had that same conversation this morning. Odd word.
EB, may I have a clue for AE5?
Missyme, that can happen when your connection is slow for a moment. Just hit refresh (f5) and the problem should go away. You'll note one of the words doesn't have a score....
Sorry for the ignorance but showing my non tech age
There is nothing wrong with not understanding texting.....
LOL, harpjane -- great minds think alike ;) And I am done!!! Feels good to finish well before the wire for a change :D
mab - yellow fever mosquitoes....
Thanks EB
Marc - it took me awhile to figure it out when people put it in here...I was afraid to ask!! 8 D
any clues for the ge 5/16, 6/27 and 7/48... Please
Woulfie - woo hoo!! *happy dance*
Marc - no shame involved -- I barely understand most of the text shortcuts myself... It's one of the things I love about the chat log here -- practically no shorthand is used, most everyone writes out complete text
ge - all based upon def. A hollow, usually spheroidal rock with crystals lining the inside wall.
hey wolfie - grrrrrrreeeaaaaat
*joins EB in the happy dance* Thanks ren!
Yeah I refreshed and the two words reversed lol
Kristinarose... the ge 6 (ends in s) the ge 7 is the 6 + y
Thank you... I got them..
Five to go. I hate it when I can't figure out a 4 letter word. But here goes: Could I pretty please have a clue ro 4/5 clue? I have the one you did on a horse, and the medieval cross. What am I missing?
Gee harp, you seem to be all tied in knots.....
Harp - the stuff you use to tie things up with
ro - make a lasso out of ro _ _
Hi all! just popped in to key my words...missed afew actually but got them anywhoooo,.....now must run the dog into the cold for her nightly walk///a bit chilly here in PHX, although most of the US is probably colder@!!
Harp - Famous Hitchcock film
LOL, brandyjack
Guys I got the second se5/16 clue but still haven't gotten the first one. Sorry... :( Just not thinking tonight I guess I also need the "oe" word
ok eb - refresh - my husband took a picture of my left hamd and i put it in paint brush - kind of sick looking.....
Eastern--forgot to mention--I have that ro also! I need one of the ones from the beginning of the list.
Pav - congrats...enjoy your walk...(and it's colder here...)
renny - I think it looks cool!
Missy ...se5 16 the first rhymes with the ed4 7
not cold here - a little chiily - hey chili sounds good
in the bigger picture - there is a little bird in the center
harp - there are only 3 ro 4/5 there is one ro 4/7...almost like the 'lasso' but a 'higer letter' instead of the 'e'
Harp, those ARE the first 3 (and only) ro4/5's. The ro4/7 is a modification of the last ro 4/5, whic means 'in the style of'
While I'm cogitating--here's a question from yesterday: What the heck does gantelope mean? I couldn't find a definition anywhere. Found some interesting blogs, but no definition!
s + your ed 4 (the ed _ _ of a cliff)
Well, now I feel a little silly! There it is, plain as day. I have all the r's! Thanks for your attempts at help. Great Hitchcock movie, btw!
harp - what others found for gantelope...an old fashioned word for 'gauntlet'
harpjane - An old form of gauntlet.
renny - unfortunately, I can't see the bird... : (
Need some help again. pe5/14 po5/18 po5/27
re: gauntlet. OK. Where did you find it? I checked several dictionaries.
yep - neither can i ..... back to the drawing board
PAV3 Thank you! And thank you for your patience. :)
ren -- pic is kinda neat, but the bird is to small to identify as more than a large dot
harp - someone else did...I have no idea!!! 8 D
OK. My last word-- te 5/14? I'm beggin' ya!
By the way, my current Buddy Bird--is a crested hen. As it turns out, I am in an Irish band called the Crested Hens.
te 5/14 - like a coat the spys wear - the r
Marc - pe 5 - abbr. for a kid's doctor (plural) po 5 & 6 - Po _ _ _ De Leon and then the "past tense"
where do ya'll play harp?
Got it! Done done done! ren-We're sort of the old lady equivalent of a garage band--we practice in a bookstore. We play in Celtic sessions, Farmer's Markets, etc. in Montana. We've even gotten paid a few times!
Don't know if i already missed these clue, but.... 2x Te6 & te7?
harp - Congrats!!! Woo hoo!!
Thanks Eastern got them
Ish- people good with computers are called te _ _ _ _ _ (singular, plural & 'past tense of root word)
wow - that's interesting. celtic music is very moving
Yay harp!!
I have these last two: (last ones on list) pe 4/ 6 pe 4/ 5
That's very cool, harpjane -- wish I could hear you -- I love Irish music :) Is your screen name in reference to your contribution to the group?
Marc - oo \/
pe - I laughed so hard I pe _ _ my pants...and act of...!
DI4 please? I have game cubes and passes away. PE5? I have pl of veg with vowel on end, and one that looks like pl walkers for short.

harp - that's great re: Celtic music...I love listening to that too!
need a clue on or6/27
mab -- past tense of to pass away
di - one pasted away and the other is plural
di - passes away and passeD away.... pe - children's rhyme... pe _ _ _ porridge hot, pe - - - porridge cold...
silly mistake.... PE5?
flowers nero wolfe grows - very exotic
Marc - or 6 - exotic flower
I've got that one EB.
*whispers to mab* add an 'e' to the pl. of the veggies...
mab oops...almost the same but chanGe the "s" to a different letter!
EasternBlue Thank you :) Finished! Yay!
Eastern -- I have that one. And I have a plural something that looks like walkers for short. Any idea of the third? I'm lost on that one.
Wooo Hoo Missy Me! *happy dance*
Yay Missy!! And a delayed YAY!! for harpjane ;D
mab...that was my "oops" clue....look for my biG letter...
ok missy - 8)
mab - it also means 'wampum'
Thank you - got that pe now.........Many thanks. Now to find which 4-letter word I'm missing. Thank you Eastern, Ren, Woulf, and anyone else I've ungratefully left out, except that I am grateful.
Gee mab -
GW-yes, I play the harp, if that's what you mean. The "harpjane" was a nickname given to me by a three -year-old. He knew two people named Jane. So he called me "harpjane" so he could keep track of who was who. That was about 20 years ago but the name stuck!
mab - if you need assistance when you find it, let us know!
mab is the food one you're missing like two p*** in a pod?
harp -- that is a wonderful anecdote -- isn't amazing how small children can have such an impact on our lives? :D
Argh! PE4? have: veg pl, potty pl, potty past tense --- What missing?
EasternBlue I wish they hadn't included that wampum as it seems it's actually the first part of the compound word. Does the puzzle rules allow prefixes?
mab drop the last letter off the pe5 you just found
Missy - sometimes it does...sometimes it doesn't!
drop the last letter off the word from the first pe5/16
Groovy. Thanks Woulfe and everyone. Done. Sorry to have put 'potty' in log. Oops, did it again. Thanks.
mab lol
mab - Woo Hoo! * happy dance *
Yay for mab!!!!
Thanks Missy, Eastern... Have them all. Sometimes I foolishly don't try combinations that don't make sense to me. Big mistake in this game.
Time for me to go, folks See you all tomorrow! (*Hugs for everyone*)
Was that your last one, Mab. If so *sends a minature band her way to march past her with a tiny bandleader in the lead* ....and the crowd goes wild. :D
later gw -
GW bye bye :)
