Hi Zubie -- just checking the new grid before signing off for the night -- finished yeast with pleanty of time to spare ;D
tor - I think they are hiding as P's
Hooray! Glad you finished, GW. :D Hi everyone.
only 69 today folks, -- anyone surprised at that?
p8/50
P8/50 X2
R8/50
And now I am gone -- may be on in a bit to try to finish before bed ;D
Morning Ice & Woulf... Well done you two :)
Not surprised, GW. Happy! :D 69 is good :D

Good evening/morning, everyone.
Morning Nan..
Only 69 words! -- might get some Christmas baking done tomorrow!
Hi Deb, cyber, Blaze!
p7/36.. Morning Zub
69 words. I have 17. Time to quit! Tll tomorrow!
p 7/36
P 8/50 x 2
Please I need a nudge on the p8 5o's second letter or def: thanks
Hi all, I'm back -- nighttime chores never take too much time and I can't let a small one like this lie (I am such an addict) :D
hello GW beware of the small ones....LOL
marigold are you playing?
p7/36 x2
pr8/50 x 2
I always am, Blaze -- but thanks for the warning, I'll be extra careful ;)
Morning/evening wonderful people (((Hugs))) :o)
Not liking this one. I have both pr8/50 and one of the p7/36. Does the 2nd p7 start the same way as the 1st and could I have a def for the r/8 or a second letter please?
Hi lotti! (*hug*)
finnally got one p5/50 are they related ??
got em both hello Lotti
Blaze, yes, exactly the same except for the last letter
Congrats on the 8's -- only have one 7, never mind the 8's!
cybernan think of "gordon"
think of opening night for a movie or play
stuck at 39 words
I am stuck at 23 :(
ooh -- found the p 8's and another 7.
I am at 24
27 here :)
this is not e 6/18 than a larger grid
no it's not it's worse
No it isn't, Blaze -- but it is more interesting
thanks, blaze, didn't have that one yet
I'm grumpy. I thought 69 would be a walk-over but I've got just one p7 and nothing bigger. :s
32 words, don't stare at me like that!
pluralize it and then play with the ending consonant
woo hoo I am up to 30 words ;)
I hate small grids on a Wednesday.....they normally give me something to do while i`m at work :(
periwinkle are you playing. I have 32 words and seem to be at a stand still
well at least there is an N-U-T in this grid....LOL
marigold, yes I am playing and I have 31 words. Need to get back to bed though.
Stalled at 50.....and no list from Brandyjack yet :(
there won't be a list for several hours --- due to his job etc.... we still have so many hours left to complete it....
I'm at 43 -- but can't seem to see the r8
HELP......
why not greywoulf there's only 18 r's
there's an r 8? -- oh dear, back to the grid!
stalled a 45
i don't have r 8 either
I can't find the r/8 either :(
up to 36 words :)
my eyes are playing tricks on me.........must have typed pair and words containing pair at least a dozen times!
marigold, do you have the r/8
hah, r / 8 is a tricky one.
give us sufferers a clue mung pleeeasse
got it!
you're holding out on us, mungk. got any clues? :)
if they forget the first time, bring it up again... and again...
re8 - to re6/24 again
omg
mungk, got it right away with your clue. thanks
oh! thanks. i was trying to figure out how an r8 would work. that is tricky.
OMG great babble ----- beam me up scotti thanks
Hi, GW, found the r/8 right before I saw your clue. Now I can get back to bed :)
mung - you actually gave it to me - thanks
sleep well, periwinkle :)
Must go shower and pack up kids lunches :) See you all later :)
Have a great day, lotti!
bye lotti love your Pingu
Thanks GW -- do you think that's really a word? -- first 2 letters a little redundant, I think.
31 to find and they will await until tomorrow.....
Good night, Blaze -- time for me to fold my tent also.
C-nan -- it breaks all the rules I was ever taught in school, but perhaps it is the exception that proves the rule :)
Take care, Blaze and C-nan --- rest well!
zubie - how you doin'?
g'morn folks hows evry1? no stats 2day? wot r we lookin 4?
69 woids
Happy 1 -- stats will be up later -- grid has 69 words
I'm stuck, GW, stuck!
I think Zubie fainted.
cheers :-)
zubie - did you get the 8's?
One 8, GW. The re8. I think you've passed me!
She's cryin'. I can hear her. We will help you, Zubie.
zubie - The first showing of a movie to the public is called its pr8/50
it's the same as the pr7 only it has another vowel at the end
Ha. I love you both, spatial and GW! Thanks for that pr clue. I was going batty.
i have 2 of the 3 8 letter words. a "p" and "r". what is the other one start with please? anyone?
You could hear me weeping? Ooops.
two pr's and one r
gracias
It's like talking someone down off a ledge sometimes... "Step away from the grid...breathe...we just want to help you..."
i'm sobbing right along with you zubie!
I got one p 8 and one r8. I ought to stop a-babbling.
Well, spatial, I'm at the edge of the grid and threatening to jump!
Here's a breakdown for our non pro friends: 4 letter words -- 36 5 letter words -- 19 6 letter words -- 9 7 letter words -- 2 8 letter words -- 3 A -- 4 E -- 8 K -- 4 M -- 5 P -- 20 R -- 9 S -- 11 T-- 5 U -- 3
NO JUMPING
Also, the bottom row does not start any words
Zubie, take your p 7/36 and pluralize it
gee thx GW
zubie -- take some deep breaths with me, OK -- everything is going to be just fine (*reaches out, offering hand*)
i've got the movie one. but i'm not seeing the other. any clues?
np, Happy 1
two movie ones, one plural of pr 7/36 and another that starts with pr 7/36 with an added vowel ending.
nava - pr7 is a head of state, pr8 is pl
GW! I'm babbling, not having a baby! LOL! *deep breath* Can I jump now?
Does anyone have a clue on the other 7 letter word?
thank you! i got it finally.
No jumping
zubie -- Only if you are diving back into the grid, then I'll go with you ;)
Yawn... hello all. *hiccup*
Not yet, Dawnfred
pr7/30: born early
Going to jump, GW, if I don't get the pesky p8. :/ Thanks for the helping hand! You're a real friend.
drunk again, griff?
leaving with 14 to go -- haven't found a word in the last 20 minutes --- must be brain dead!
Bye Nan
See you later, C-nan!
Absoeffinlutely. Had a crappy couple of days, got a call from a friend who's back after several weeks away, said come over, I did, had a houseful of friends and turns out it was a party just for me, just because. Was the only female in the house but I can watch basketball and belch with the best of 'em.
zubie - think opening night.
I got the opening night and the early birth. What am I missing? :/
anyone have a clue for the second 7 letter word. I have the pr/7
ty summer
zubie - I gave a clue at 1:28
wow nice
y/w Dawn
zubie - heads of state.
zubie, take the pr 7 and stick a vowel on the end of it
Griff -- that's a good friend you have there :)
Hi Dianne -- how are you these days?
Ok. Crossed wires here. I've got two 8's. One's an r and the other's the plural of heads of state. I've got the 7 for that and the movie. Now, am I missing a 7 or 8? :/
Yippee!! Thanks, spatial. Got it!
this puzzle is not e6/18, than yesteday for me. need help with other e word please.
Whew, Zubie
zubie - you are missing the 8 which adds a vowel to the singular head of state
Yay for zubie!!!!
Got it, GW. Now for the 6's. :/ Remind me again why I babble? :/
GW - it got cold here and I got a cold :( Other than that alls well on this side of the water :) Hows PA?
cos you're a masochist? :D
Lol - Nah :D
so true for all of us gw. nice
Dianne -- it's turned cold here too, only the baby got the cold, not me! She's all better now and insisting that I take her to a bookstore! 2 years and 4 months old and already a bibliophile! :D
Sorry, went to the grid awhile there. Yes, he is a good friend. And actually bought good beer. We put the Budweiser up the chickens!
...but man, I've only found like 5 words. I may not be fully functional here. :)
BTW, thanks for the clue for the other 7, Summer -- finally got it!
today is my 27th birthday!
GW - take her straight away. What age do you have to be for a library card?
happy birthday nava!
hi everyone
nava - happy birthday - have a good one !
thanks, it was a nice day.
Happy Birthday, Nava!!
y/w GW
i feel old now. 27 is closer to 30 than it is 25. crap.
Yeah, well 27 is also closer to 30 than 43 is, so shut yer yap. :)))))
thanks everyone
Yeah, but it's still closer to 20 than 100 ;D
true, gw. true
wait, my born early is a pr 6/24
hey it's good to be older...your smarter and faster at this puzzle that i am.
there's another spelling, spatial -- took me a few to figure it out too :)
Wow, spatial - I tried to type your born early and mistakenly typed the prime minister instead. Cool!
There is also a alternate spelling for the early birth - pr6/24
Back soon
ack ok
LOL, Griff
bean - add another vowel in the middle of yours.
thanks ~:o)
Zubie is ok, right? she's not jumping or anything...?
she's doing just fine, spatial -- after all, she's got us :D
Not jumping, spatial. Just --er-- ehem -- had to 'hide' the grid for a while. Ooops. :o
oh hahaha
Hehe. I found a word. Amazing what a new look at the grid will do! :D And I ALWAYS miss this word. Every single grid! The e4
i'm done for the night. nite to all. and good luck with this one.
Yes, GW, I've got all of you. :D Nice friendly lot. :) :D
bye nava
G'nite nava -- sleep well!
Are you done, nava? How about you, GW?
17 left to find here
are you kidding me? confession: i have never finished a puzzle. witht he two kids, i have a busy day. then by this time at night, i'm zonked. but it's still fun...nite
Ugh. Why give me tough maths? :D Instead of saying left to find, how about telling me how many you have? :D
Nite, nava :)
Sorry, Zubie -- have 52 ;D
As well you should be, GW! ;D I'm on 44. This grid isn't in English, I tell you! I keep seeing 'saunter', by the way. :D And Santa! Christmas mind? Santa sauntering through the grid!
I have 58
I still keep seeing pair and raise -- maybe I should be playing poker?
saturn is a proper noun i guess
Ack! Just saw 'reindeer'. Fitting! Are you good at poker? :D
Having just started todays I have found a pr7/36 which if you add s becomes pr8/50. Still looking for the pr6/24
Well, I'm good at giving my money away -- does that count? :D
Depends on whom you give it to, GW! :D You punned, did you realise? :D
May I have some money, GW?
Iain - drop the last letter of the 7 And Welcome!
Count de Money
Santa saunters near the reindeer on the prairie. I think I should give up. :D
Hmmmm, so on the refresh, six of the tiles didn't load back up, but so far it doesn't seem to be any disadvantage....
Many thanks got it
Those are freebies, Griff
spatial - sure, but you have to come here to get it, and play poker with me
Double word scores too???? Hmmm, maybe a different game
Ok, GW!
Now what's driving me crazy is the fact that the P on the left side of the board starts only one word and I can't figure it out! Also, I am only missing one K and one U to gray those out as well
The p on the left starts a word?! Ugh. How many letters? :/ I was ignoring that p and the u :D
GW - I had to use A2z to find that P. Still don't know what the word means. *sigh*
no clue on how many letters, zubie but I can tell you that the 2 u's I found are bear related
it is a pr5/14
can't sleep. what is a2z?
Gw...do you know the spanish word for fruit?
Thanks Ho Hum!
I used to, spatial -- high school was a long time ago...
did you get the pr 5/14 gw?

Thanks for the u clues, GW! Got the left p, too! :D Thanks, spatial.
welcome ~:o)
50 :/
Indeed, lovemypom -- when clues don't help and time is short -- a2z can be helpful
Oh, of course. The old Israel coin word... :-P I wish I were more worldly ... those words get soooo by me!
Hey GW -- love the green :)
Thx, lovemypom -- Google images is a wonderful thing :D
Btw, lovemypom - if you click on the ? box next to each word, you will usually get a definition -- that's how most of us have expanded our vocabulary since we started playing this game ;)
I think I need BrandyJack to finish.
Thx GW, some nights I've spent more time at Dictionary.com than babbling! :-) Then tonight I found out about the Enable Dict. I couldn't figure out where the words were coming from if they were in the dict. Still an obvious newbie - huh? lol
I've got just two a words. How many are there?
*weren't* in the dict.
You know, I've got 28 to go but honestly I think I did pretty well for seeing all the tiles double. I am off to a nice slumber and will finish this in the morning.

Mornin'

*hears the wind softly blowing as a tumbleweed bumps its way across the scene...*
((((( *hugs* ))))) hey Yoink : )..... I was just scrolling back for clues. how are you today? :D
hi Summer :D
((((Babs)))) I've got a bit of a sniffle and just had a choking fit on some orange juice, but other than that, not bad! How are you?
*hands Yoink a box of Kleenex* sorry to hear that Yoink, hope you feel better asap. ack, choking on citrus isn't any fun. I did that with a clementine this week. I bit it and it burst! I'm good today, thanks. :D
It was some orange cordial that went down the wrong way :/
oh dear.......... ((((( hugs to feel better!! )))))
morning, not easy today!!
hi Bubbles : ) no.......... deffo a tough one...... :/
i've got 36 words to find and think my brain has gone to sleep!!
I'm only at 20........ :/
I've got 21 to go and I'm sure they aren't there. Hi Bubbles!
Morning all. I'm a green hamster today. I can't believe someone actually dyed their pet!! 28 words left to find here. The grid doesn't like 'nursie' and 'merrie'. LOL.
hi Jac!!! (((( hugs ))))) :D
Morning Jacula :)
Morning Yoink & Jacula
Anyone got the p word that is from the p on the left?
not me, Yoink........ :/
I'm not in the best of moods on this frosty morning. I made the mistake of putting my recycling boxes out on the grass verge before the 9pm curfew that the police have put on groups of kids round here. I normally don't put them out until 10.30pm. Some little sh*ts removed the full-to-bursting paper recycling box from under the other 2 boxes, lugged it over to the nearby park, stuck it on top of a litter bin and set fire to it. Judging by the smell and the foam all around when I tracked down the remains of our paper rubbish at 11pm, it looks like the resulting fire of melting plastic and litter bin had to be put out by the Fire Brigade.
pr5/14 A coin formerly used in Israel, equal to one thousandth of a pound . You may have to drop the last consonant if you find this coin on the internet. The correct spelling ends with a vowel And hi all :)
Yoink - Sorry, not got that word yet.
hi Missy : ) Jac - bl**dy kids!!
Morning MissyMe and thanks!
Morning MissyMe. Thanks. I will look for that.
((((((Jacula))))))) That's just horrible. I feel bad for you having to deal with youth like that. Around here where I live teenagers still wave at you when you pass by and are always polite.
thx MIssy! :D
Welcome I got all the p's finally. :)
*Babs pulls out passport and packs her suitcase* I can't see where you live, Missy.... but I'm on my way! :D
Missy - Most youth around here are fine. There's a small minority that cause trouble and they don't even live in our villlage but come in here to cause mayhem.
Too bad the curfew isn't even earlier...10:30 seems a bit late for ruffins to be out and about. :(
that's so you can't go telling their parents, Jac. :/ plenty of evil little blighters here in London!
Anyway, I guess I'd better ring the police to let them know of the incident, if they don't already know, and the council to order a new box. I'm only glad we never put anything with addresses or details of any kind in the box. All that kind of thing goes in the shredder and then for rabbit and g/pig bedding up in the hutches.
Argh, 15 left and 4 of them are 7s and 8s, only 3 4s left to find
yoink, pr 5/14
Jacula I'm glad there's a brighter side to it all
Yoink: pr8/50 - the first night of a movie. monkey around for the other pr8/50 (change last letter)
I googled MissyMe's clue thanks Bubbles :)
.... oh and drop one of those last letters for a pr7/36 :D
Missy - the curfew's set at 9pm but all the kids do is keep moving and give the police the runaround. I'm not depressed about the incident, just annoyed. Should have put some TNT in the box. LOL. That would have put them off ever doing that again!
re8/50 - re6/24... again.... and again...
pr5/14 variant of "proa" which is a swift Malayan sailboat with a triangular sail and single outrigger
lol Jacula...indeed I think that would have put them off... :D
thx Missy : )
Babbler...yup...just keep typing the variants and you get them all
Thanks Babs, got those now :)
y/w hun :)
That re8/50 is a good word to use when hubby accusing you of 'nagging' when you ask him yet again to do something. You can say, 'No. I am just re8/50ing you , dear!' :-)
You mean your husband remembers you asking before?
Having trouble with the 2 e's from the middle right e
Hi Haz. LOL. Men have 'selective memories', I think. Actually, my chap's quite good. (Have to say that 'cos he reads the log! LOL.)
Jacula isn't re8/50 actually supposed to be re6/24? I'm confused
Missy - the re8/50 means to re6/24 again.
Maybe there's another spelling I'm missing?
Yoink - have you got spooky and more spooky?
Babs, yeah, they are from one of the other e's
Yoink - Also, have you got 'makes a mistake'>
Jac oh right...thanx I forgot all about that one. :D
Jacula, yep :(
have you got er4/4 - epoch ? (pl)
Happy green day everyone. What a strange puzzle! 43 came easily and now......
Okay - have to take an extended break now. I've 32 words after 20 minutes, but I have a feeling the next 37 won't come so fast! Be back later, take care.
hi Eva : )
Yep Babs
see you later, Haz :)
TTFN, Haz.
Hi Eva
And bye Haz
hmmmm... I see the middle e you're after now..... after the same one myself : D
Hello Eva.
Morning all, Quite a grid today, you start off going woohoo only 68 words and then it nips at your heels!
HI FMitch. Yes, it's a tricky little blighter after about 45 words.
Hi Jac Glad to say I have reached the end which is why I can chat for a little while now.
hi Fmitch : )
Hi Babbler and Eva and everyone else, love the green today.
Hi FMitch
Hi Yoink. So how is everyone getting on with this one, seen quite a few clues flying around which is great. If I can help just shout :)
I'm at 39, Fmitch.... :/ have you finished?
Yup, Im all done, phew!!
bravo Fmitch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
63 here FMitch, almost there...
FMitch Hello :) I'm missing a "k" one I have three: ke4/8 ke5/18 ki4/1 9 do you have the last one?
Anyone have a clue for the me5?
MissyMe, kr5/20
do you have kr5/20 - alt spelling for word meaning crawl?
Eva - extend your me4/5.
Babbler Good clue! And a funny one! :D Thanx
not one of mine, someone else left it this morning...! :D
Thanks Jacula! My cats name, Merp, is in this puzzle.
FMitch, I'm struggling to find the 2 e's that come from the middle right e, any hints?
think spooky or eagle nest yoink. and plural
How about the second e for the first e in the puzzle? Have what this short puzzle isn't and am stumped for the second one.
sorry not plural, more than
ea6/18 ee5/10 ee6/18 em5/12 em6/21 er4/4 er4/4 et4/4 Can you tell from list above which one you're missing?
And I am hysterically blind to the u's - don't have any!
FMitch I have those two, i think they come from the lower e
et4/4 eva a good ole babble word
Ahh, it is the em's I am missing
eva estimated time of arrival
ur4/5 ur5/12 ut4/5 :)
yoink sounds like middle eastern sultan or equivalent
Thanks missy! It was the simple et one and I needed to be steered in the right direction.
FMitch -love your wings.
And I'm all done, thanks for the help guys :)
Thanks again Missy-wasn't feeling bearish enough about the puzzle(-:
bravo Yoink !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! ((( xx )))
(i'm just on msn to my sis.............. brb) :)
WTG Yoink!!!!! ...and thanks eva
I love what you can find under images on google, I entered shades of greens and got a lovely mix of pics.
could I please get a letter count for the first A in grid thanks
Missy - how do you get ke - have I got a different grid from you?
The very first pic that came up when i put green into the Google image search was a naked woman on a golf green
Does someone have a list of the r's? I'm missing one.
ROFL yoink!
I've monkey typed the su's and still can't find em. Anyone get those yet?
Been wanting to ask for a while and might as well do it now as my brain isn't being constructively used for anything else - what does ROFL mean and what about a D at the end of the message?
I have one su 4/5 what some put out for bird feed
Eva You're welcome. I just saw you're thank you. I've been going crazy looking for those su's lol
roll on floor, laugh out loud :D is a cheesy grin
Eva - ROFLOL means 'Rolling On Floor Laughing Out Loud' and the 'D' is a face with a big grin (if you turn your head sideways).
Babbler Thank you :)
Blaze - birdfeed?? I'm making a su4 crust pastry to go on my steak & kidney pie tonight.
R list: re4/4 re5/18 re4/4 re6/ 24 re8/50 ri4/4 ri4/5 ri5/12 ru4/5
Jacula...they put it in bird feed to hold the seeds in a bunch which you can hang on a tree in a ball and the birds like it :)
Have to love and leave you for a while, work is calling, good luck with the grid. will be lurking in the background on and off :)
FMitch K Cya later :)
Yoink - i put cocteau twins in my Last radio selection, and I've all sorts of cool stuff! (still on msn.... she's writing...... ) :D
Thanks much Yoink - now have to concentrate for a while to work through the list
Missy - I know. I was just being facetious.
oh Jac... that is awful....hope your day gets better
Babs, I've got similar artists to Arcade Fire playing on there right now, some decent stuff there. Bye FMitch
Blaze - about the recycling box, you mean? Yes. Annoying. Bye, FMitch.
was one of Arcade Fire's tracks used in an ad?
Got other su: su5/12 An often fatal infectious disease of domestic animals, especially horses, caused by the trypanosome (Trypanosoma evansi) and usually transmitted by biting insects.
Okay, the r's are gone. Now I could use a list for the p's (missing 3) and the s's (missing 5!)
Not that I have heard, have you heard "Mushaboom" by Feist on some Lacoste advert? IT's a cool song
haven't put hte tv on for a few days, Yoink! I'll look out for it !
no............ I'll google it after i've finished chatting with my sis........ : )
speaking of green - is anyone else out there a Celtics fan?
Here ya go: pe4/5 pe5/12 pe4/5 pe5/12 pe4/9 pe4/6 pi4/5 pi4/5 pi5/12 pr4/6 pr5/14 pr4/5 pr7/36 pr6/24 pr7/36 pr8/50 pr8/50 pr5/12 pr6/21 pr5/14
sa5/10 sa4/4 sa4/4 sa5 /12 si6/18 si4/5 si4/4 si5/10 si6/18 su4/5 su5/12
THANK YOU
That'll keep me busy for a while Missy.
YW :)
and Yoink!
(((( hugs Yoink cos he's a star ))))) xxx
Babs, apparently Wake Up by Arcade Fire is on a BBC advert
thought so!!!!!!!!!!! I knew i'd heard it somehwere....
anyone get si6/18?
si6/18 - double up the middle consonant of the word before it.
Jacula Thanx! Finished! *wooting in a crazed manner but still somehow maintaining her dignity*
bravo Missy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!
Congrats MissyMe :)
Well done, MissyMe!
8 words still to find here.
thank you thank you :D
This was a nice break from the longer ones we've had
Lol, Missy. Now I see you under a spotlight on the stage, with glitter and balloons falling around you, bowing and catching bouquets.:-)
Babs, giving similar artists to Cocteau Twins a go now.
Oops! I thought I'd typed 'baboons' for a moment. That would be an entirely different image!
;D..... I've had david bowie, air, this mortal coil........... *blissed out Babs*
Okay folks- down to the wire. I'm missing 1 word - the other si6/18 - no the yes si____
Jacula, we had a client here at work called "wall to wall balloons" a few years back and I misheard it once as "wall to wall baboons" and had a bit of a giggling fit for a while
Jac lol Great image and don't forget all the people throwing roses onto the stage...and the cutest guys throwing up their hotel keys. :D
Yoink - I can imagine. It's awful when you get a giggling fit and no one else can see what your laughing at.:-)
Yoink !!! Now I'm having a laughing fit over that one.
*you're
Hotel keys, Missy? And I thought I had a vivid imagination.:-)
Jacula I'll share the keys with ya if I get more than I can handle...
This last s is making me nuts. I have circled and circled and circled to no avail. Does it really exist or am I doomed to babble purgatory for all eternity?
Eva I was in the same purgatory...not quite hell but almost... si6/18 If you got si5/10 just add another consonant in the middle there
eva, think mountain range
eva do you have the desert one ?
Arg...I meant to type "in the middle therre :)
Yeah, mountains, that's what I was going to say
LOL, sorry, couldn't help but jump in as I was zooming past my desk, ....... gone again
FMitch lol When you read this later as you're whipping by God dropped in and gave us all the numbers for all the lotteries on earth...sorry you missed it
YES!!!! It was teh mountain range one----staring me right in the face. I thank you, my aching back thanks you, my hungry cat thanks you, and my cold stoves would thank yu if they were sentient. Not that I am. But the cat certainly is. I have to spend the day collecting cat pee. No, no a fetishist - for lab work. Much, much more easily said than done. One person actually suggested that I scoot under his behind with a dish as he squats.....not much clearance that I can see there. So, have to lock him in a room with an empty box - yowling and suffering for all.
who are you listening to now, Yoink? are you enjoying my choons? :)
Eva ROTF
Eva what is the word count for the first a in the grid...please
bravo Eva!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *reaches over and puts a fresh glass of champers on Eva's desk.....*
Babs, just had "Can't get free" by Cranes who I haven't heard of before, nice enough, cute girlish singing voice
ai5/10
a5/10 Blaze. And i'ts what someone with a fan might be called.
oops wrong a the first a in the grid not the word list... I have all but this one A word...Thanks
i vaguely remember the cranes. I always confuse them with, who was it, the cranberrys (irish group)? I've got my fave on - cocteau twins! aaaaahhhhh : )
maybe some champers would make the cat pee faster? probably screw up the results. I hate locking him up, but if I don't he might avail himself of a handy sweater pile or something.
Blaze - the one I said is the first a in the grid
yoink - lacoste - you sure it's not Zero 7 ?? or is that another ad?
ai5/10 ai6/18 ai4/4 au4/5
Blaze - the first a word (ai5) and its plural are what you hang your washing on, maybe in front of the fire.
I like this olour thing. Maybe we can work our way through the spectrum?
Must be a different one, it's for a lacoste eau de toilette I think, it a female singer
Eva Great suggestion :)
do you have it yet Blaze or are we misunderstanding you?
found it, Yoink......... yes I've heard this tune! lovely! :D
I saw her live at a festival in Canada in the summer, very nice. Got some Boards of Canada on now, can't go far wrong with that
Good Morning all: Jumping in to grab grid to bring to work...these small ones are sometimes the hardest!!
Hello Speedfreak :)
hadn't heard of board of canada till today...... did you like canada? I've always wanted to go, but never got there.
Can't listen to the radio because the cat is lying on top of the remote and will bite me if I try to remove it.
hi speed! :D
Put a towel around your hand and get it that way
How about violet for tomorrow?
I've been a couple of times, first time was too cold, second time was too hot! Fun though, so many little things are different to here
Yippee! Finished! Feel very pleased - used no stats and no a2z.
it's free choice tomorrow, :)
or I can thwap him with a pillow. That usualy works.
That would be nice. :)
bravo Jac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Jacula!!! Alright for you! I can't say the same. I used help. :)
okay- off for a while. Today was a real"ask and you sall receive" experience - thanks so much to everyone for making it so much fun.
Hi Speedfreak, well done Jacula!
I never use a2z............. we just don't get along, a2z and I...... :/
lol Eva The pillow is a much better idea. Some vets suggest keeping a spray bottle of water around to deter pets but sheesh...spraying water in my house?
I'd be absolute rubbish without a2z! Bye Eva
Speaking of fun and the chat log - Has anyone managed to read Dr_God's article yet? I thought it would be a paid-for download but it seems I have to have the whole Treehouse magazine posted to me here in UK.:-(
first time i tried a2z was for a massive grid, around 400 words or something........... I was shattered!!! never again........... :/
Well, we all worked without a BJ list on this one. :)
Missy - we keep on of those big-tanked water pistols outside for spraying our hunting cat when he's got a bird or something. Don't spray him in the house though.
yes, Jac, I got it yesterday. Excellent read!!! I really enjoyed it.
bye Eva : )
Babbler - was it a download or did you have the mag through the post?
Night Eva :)
Missy, I just refreshed and now i can see your icon. wow!
That's me standing next to my ship...I mean...um...that's a silly photoshop fakie...yeah...that's it...
Jac, it's a download. and you pay via paypal. haven't read the rest of the mag yet. and you get a free copy of Oct issue as well. it's techie, business, analytical, and descriptive. the babble article is a history and how it has developed ..... with our help!! and brandyjack is mentioned! awwwwww!
I just went into BabAnon to put stats in and I see BJ's list for today is now up.
ewwwwPayPalewwww
Dr G said the best thing about Babble is us lot, and the chat log!!!! bless his little cotton socks!!!! :D
I didn't get the list tonight. *feels proud*
Ah, maybe because I chose 'Visa' I didn't get the download. Didn't proceed anyway after it wanted address for posting. I'll have to use my chap's Paypal if I want to get it then.
yesterday, there was a funny delay of like 5 mins or so..... it confused me at first, but I got there.
Right, time I went and got on with some work. I'll pop in and out as I can. TTFN. Thanks for the company and the clues everyone.
don't forget to save it in your ebooks.
I had to cancel my credit card on PayPal so they would stop sending money to 3 online sites I had been subscribing to monthly. There's NOWHERE on Paypal's site to cancel anything after 15 days or so and they completely ignore your emails
Jacula Cya later and thank you too :)
Bye Jacula MissyMe, it is good for one-off payments though, it makes buying off eBay a breeze
Yoink I totally agree...but I'm concerned if I give them my credit card number again they'll start paying the subscriptions to the sites again..
jac........ don't go yet..... gonna type you some edited highlights........... it will make your day :)
put a different card no in, missy. eg your debit card or something?
I'm signing off too until tomorrow night, (for me) Good bye all :)
Babbler good idea Ill do that if I need to get something off eBay
..."At first the chat log was simply a place for players to brag about the big words they were finding, but it didn't take long before it bacame the lifeblood of the site. Players came for the game, but stayed to talk to other players in the chat log. New friendships were formed, and soon the chat log expanded beyond the game..................
Bye MissyMe
"..............It became a place notonly to talk about the game, but to swap stories about what players did last night, talk about movies, and even pass round recipes. If you're gong to create a gaming website, this kind of friendly community is a great thing to achieve. It gives players a reason to come back to the site more often and stay longer."
".... It was the Babble players, not me, who were responsible for transforming the entire spirit of Babble and making it into what it is today. Players began using the chat log to ask for and give clues to words. They even created their own Babble language to do so. Phrases like "Take the co6/27, drop the silent letter, and add 3 letters to the end - meaning and age or a period of time" became commonplace. The main goal of players was no longer to get the top score, but to finish the entire puzzle with the help of other players. What started as a competitive website slowly became one of peace, love, and cooperation."
that's my favourite bit :D
apologies for typos!! all mine! :/
Ahh Stereolab, I don't know what they're saying but it sounds nice
It's got to be a cool feeling knowing you've created a site that people want to use and want to go to to congregate
it's got to be, yoink. I'm chuffed to be part of it. paypal was my idea, and firefox was my discovery too! *beams with pride* :D:D:D:D
I don't think I'd heard of Stereolab till today........ (not sure??)
I'd have used firefox with it anyway, I haven't used IE for ages. Got to go for lunch now, see you later
i only use firefox. have a good lunch!! maybe see you later (( hugs ))
((hugs)) Have a nice day if not :)
you too xxxx : )
Only one to get and it's driving me mad! the first pr7/36 any help please?
Babbler, thanks for posting that, what does it say about BJ?
oh yeah............. *dashes back to mag*.....
mari - knock off the last letter of the 1st pr8, or if you dont have that one think leader of a country
Thanks for the highlights, Babbler. Am off out for a while now.
Fmitch - thanks - got that one must be the other pr7/36 I'm missing
".... One player, Brandyjack, even wrote his own little script that would find all the words in a puzzle and spit back complete puzzle stats, which he would share with the other players by posting it to the chat log every morning. His daily puzzle stats soon became a fundamental part of playing Babble for most players. Players would clamor for it to be reposted all day long so that it would always be near the top of the chat log."
I thought you might like that he mentions swapping recipes.......... you are the Recipe Queen!! :D
take your 6/24 and double the 1st vowel
FMitch yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees thaks a million
LOL mari - I take it you found it and have finished Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bravo mari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Can someone help me with the pr 5/14? I feel like I have monkey-typed till the cows came home... but to no avail!
woohoo, your green day is obviously working for you EvaN
how many words?
pr5/14 A coin formerly used in Israel, equal to one thousandth of a pound . You may have to drop the last consonant if you find this coin on the internet. The correct spelling ends with a vowel
woot! all my bottom line is greyed out heh heh heh ; )
Sorry... the very last pr5/14, not the 1st one.
greetings from the corporate hand
evanadine that looks to me like the re6/24??
very cool, ren
plural pr4/6
jen, not sure which one this is... but it rhymes with what you do to a movie when the phone rings...
Jen use the pr on the left of grid

jen -- have you ever seen the commercial (i think its for mastercard?) that has all the cartoon-y food characters sitting around the holiday table? green giant, pillsbury doughboy, mr peanut, count chocula, etc... and mr clean in the kitchen doing the dishes...hehe
Great, now I have competing jingles in my head.
morning all :)
Ho ho ho, klondike bar! Yeah, I've seen that one... there's also one on an airplane I think, where Mr. Peanut gets a bag of peanuts.
well, in that case, what would the green giant do for a klondike bar? hehe
hello fellow babblers!
Hi atalante :)
Hi temple :)
ooh, i dont think ive seen that one! but the dinner one is one of my favorite commercials out there right now. :)
Hi Atalante, Hi T-Owl : )

stooooooooooooooooooopppp!! :)
Any hints on the re8?
jen -- to tell someone something they forgot. again.
there are NOT 23 a words in there...
Go GREEN! (And Hi everyone!!)
morning, bugzy
Hi Bugzy : ) T-Owl, there'd better not be. As are about as popular as a f*rt in a spacesuit in these parts just now... : /
Hi, bugzy dude....
Good morning.......... re 8: tell someone something again, and again
yes - after yesterday they are not on your "A" list ...LOL
by my count, theres 4 a-words...heh
Nope, Temple... just 4. Thanks eva... I tried that out of curiosity thinking it wouldn't work, but lo and behold!
Hi Cybernan :) Nice to start the puzzle with an 8-letter word! Only 68 more to go....
Whew, I'm back... had to do the morning routine with His Majesty... I'm beginning to think my son has a touch of autism...
got the Pr7. any hints on the other?
and why is "merkin" not an acceptable word?! ;) hehe
eva... add a vowel for one of the pr8's, and pluralize for the other.
jen -- i have the 8s, its the other 7 im missing. :)
pr7 is alternative spelling for pr8--drop the final vowel
Eva, double middle vowel in your pr6
Good morning all on this cold five degree day in Iowa. I'm down to my last five and could use some help. Anyone with the first pr 7/36 and last pr 5/14?

thanx Jera.
Sorry, that clue was for Nonny...

(((Temple)))
any clue on me5/9 please
(((Anj, Jera, Yoink,Evan)))

Babs - thanks! Anj - Hi! Jera...I think I can make in time (if I leave now!)
You are slowly convincing me Jera! Although shredded beef burritos is really sounding good to me too... haven't made those in a long time.
cheese stuffed breadsticks? Wow! They sound amazing!

Hi Yoink...you are a litte scary looking today...
bravo Anj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!! mega fast!
East, just a bit grumpy 'cos I've got a cold :(
Nonny, it uses the p on the left-hand side of the grid... no def for it, sorry! :)
Nonny, it works its way up the left and ends in an A : )
Eastern, I had the same icon as Anj and that is a major faux pas! So now I am an angry Hulk
Anj! Congrats!
*passes lola a hot toddy* That might help you feel better...or if you drink enought of them - help you forget you don't feel well!
Toes- thanks for the candy cane!!
well, I'm gonna love you and leave you. see y'all tomorrow!! ((( hugs to all )))
Did I miss a clue about re5?
bye, babs!
Babbler, we should get some hot chocolate or soem good coffee. Would help.
Bye Babs!!! (((HUG))))) Stay warm!
thanx anj. believe it or not, but i never saw that p. I'm done and out of here. YEA ME!!!!
BABBLER! *cries* oooookaaaaay bu bye *waves*
Sorry, I mean re6...
Jera, add a consonant to the end of the re4/4 before it (a large point letter)
Bye Babs :) ((x))
Yea Nonny!!!
Congrats nonny!
Cheers Everone : ) Nonny, that pr5 is a mis-spelling of 'a coin formerly used in Israel, equal to one thousandth of a pound' according to dic.com
Thanks Jen, but I meant 6... I'm hard to help sometimes...
*takes hot toddy from east...is grateful....burns tongue...doesn't care because can suddenly breathe again*
Hello Everyone! A short puzzle today, but it seems a bit tough...
im baaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!
Jera, I will "help you remember" the re6!
Lola, the su5 is 'an often fatal infectious disease of domestic animals, especially horses, caused by the trypanosome (Trypanosoma evansi) and usually transmitted by biting insects' : )
hi evanadine!
'bye babs! :)
Yea, thanks Jen! So easy with a hint!
I'm here to help Jera! :)
'bye Babs : ) Well, I gotta go too. Shhhh be vewwwy qwiet...i'm hunting Kwismas Twees : )
Gotta take a warm-up break with 23 to go... later, people!
Hi Eva :)
Anj. Are you a: suggesting that I should know that word?? b: Suggesting that I should google when I have not done so in months?? xxx
bye Anj - be careful hunting those trees..they can be vewy vewy twicky!
anj - that must be some misspelling for the coin...lola, do you have a cold again?
Never mind babe, just monkeyed it! :D
Okay, I'm off to the gym and fighting with the crowds at the mall. Have a great rest of the day everyone!
bye Jera - see you at 7 for dinner : )
See ya Anj, not getting a tree like your icon to hang decorations off? :D
Anj! I cannot believe you are leaving me when I still have 2 words to find!
Yoink, tried that but it looked a bit, er, sparse after a few days % D
bye Jen...
temple, not again...still }(
Lo, i'm leaving you in capable hands babe : ) (((xx)))
ooh poor you! that's miserable : (
I can hint if you need them Lola
Hi Eva! Love the icon :)
Well, I just finished anyway. Anj, good luck with the tree hunting :) (((xxx))) 'bye everyone, dragging myself off to bed now...
thanky TSM -- its a leftover from faerie day. :)
bye lola...I hope you feel better!
Bye Lola
afternoon all
bye lola!!!
bye, lol...hope you feel better soon!
i only have one k word, a 4...has anyone gotten that far yet!
Hi again Bubbles
Thanks guys. I will TRY to be more cheerful tomorrow :)
Temple, there is a kr5 that sounds like a mispelling of a word meaning to sneak quietly
TO -- ive got 3 K words. one K4 meaning nice one K5 rhyming with a c-word meaning a loser one K4 meaning a large tub or vat
hi bubbles...
hi yoink
T-owl...not there quite yet...sorry! Hi Bubbles!
hi temple
hi eastern, your icon is fab
Evanadine, you're missing a plural...
thanks yoink -- its always the obvious ones i miss...heh
Bubbles...thanks!
17 words to go and i'm stuck!!!
The last pr 5/14 (Israeli coin)?
ty yoink & evaN
Got it -- monkey typing. Done! - and only 6:57 am!
Goodness am I cold! I have 2 thick sweaters on and everything!
Way to go cyber!
I'm glad I got that pr 7/36
What's the temp in Chicago, monkey?
Grats cyber :) ....... monkey typing? lol :)
25 words left to go, and fading fast! would love to finish without referring to BA, but i might give in!
cyber - i got the correct spelling but i'll be darn if i can get the puzzle spelling...
In Chicago right now it's a bitter cold 2* F
It was -10* F when I woke up this A.M.
Temple - drop the final consonant
ok, stumped on my last M. i have the sottish coin, the brain + the animal... any hints on my missing one?
ty, cyber! : )
eva - me 4/5, 5/12 -- no more than what is necessary, and more so
evanadine do you have the M for the least?
Well I should probably go do some work, bye all
i do now! heh, thanks all.
Monkey - no wonder you're cold!! It's -6.5C (21F) here and I thought we were in the deep freeze!
bye Yoink!
bye, yoink!
Cold? It's -14F here. Don't know what that is in C but it's damned cold!
how is saturn not a word?
dangus ... it's a proper name. not allowed.
eva - do yo mean a sCottish coin? i don't have that one...
Darleen - are you in Alaska? Saturn is a proper noun.
it should be on little grids like this
heh, yes, thats the one i meant. my fingers never do what i tell them to! take a common M4 male name + change the vowel.
Temple - change the last letter of the me 4/5 to a consonant (there's only one that adds up to 9)
cybernan , LOL ... It's actually sometimes colder here in Wyoming that it is in Alaska. We're currently in the throes of the Arcic Express. The jet stream swings south of us dragging chilled Arctic air over our heads. 9 years ago we hit -35F. Cows died, frozen to the ground. Needless to say we went through a load of propane.
Sounds a little like Alberta -- it's called the Alberta Express up here!
hi can someone explain to me what the numbers mean i.e. me 4/5?
thanks again, cybernan
Ah ... yup, same thing. So YOU"RE the ones to blame for the cold, eh? Now I'll be singing "Alberta, Alberta" all day.
lizard -- its a code for clues. for example: Me 4/5 would be a word that starts with ME...that is 4 letters long and worth 5 points.
lizard - the first 2 letters of the word, the length of the work/the total point value of the word
Welcome, lizard. Send some of that warm air up from AZ willya?
Thanks evanadine
Hi lizard -- you must be new -- welcome! re 5/18: re = first 2 letters, 5 = number of letters, 18 = number of points
lizard...and welcome! You must be new!
for all the more detailed babble rules, click on "babble rules" at the top right.
lizard: look under 'Friends of Babble', click on 'babblers anon', then 'General', then 'stat's, and you will find a 2 letter word list that is produced daily by our friend and fellow babbler, Brandyjack.
It seems to me as if we could do with one or two more vowels on the left side of the grid!
In your dreams, ExWren
Thanks everyone. I've been playing for three days now and really enjoy reading all the messages, although sometimes the clues elude me.
clue for me 5/12 please. then im off to eBay lol the PR's are driving me mad today (dont take myuch) !!
So, anyone colder than 2* F today? :)
Sometimes they elude us too.
Well, I only have 10 words! lol
me 5/12 - an extension of me 4/4
Toes - I think Darleen has you beat!!
Toes - see her 9:08 post!
If no one needs any further help, I will log out until the flip.
bye cyber...catch you later!
Bye Eastern -- good luck everyone :)
how can there be a me 4/4 m is worth 2
could do with a clue for the au4/5 and the ur 5/12 cheers
au 4/5: a relative
au4/5 a female relative
lizard -- it should be Me 4/5
ur 5/12 plural of ur 4/5
of course! sometimes i just dont see it - do you think you can get special babble glasses at the opticians?!
ur 5/12 - latin plural for ur 4/5
thanks cybernan
I could use help with the sa 5/10, pr 5/12 and pr 6/21. I know they are probably staring me in the face, but...
You mean glasses that would differentiate between non words and gobbelty gook words that are accepted?
sa 5/10 - alt. spelling for Indian garment
pr = someone who is nosy and pluralise it.
Yeah Toe. Did you miss my whine? it's -14F here this morning.
yep those glasses sound about right - we could make a fortune selling to all the addicts!
I'm sorry but I've gotta tell you its 81F here, sunny and I'm in a vest top. I do like to look at the white stuff on the telly though ;)
pr 5/12 and plural (pr 6): nosy person -- one who pokes into things that are none of their business.
Yippee!! I'm done!! Thanks cybernan and sandr!!!
Good job paperdoll!
still 20 words left to go here...hehe
well done paperdoll - still struggling on only another 20 to go!
gonna go crack out a little more work...ill be back!
I'm away also -- time for breakfast! -- no doubt I'll see some of you at the flip.
ROFL! Darleen! Wow that is cold... Get yourself a fleece blanket and hot chocolate!
Off to do some actual work.... *sigh*
Good question! I think the points add a little differently than the numbers on the blocks some times. It seems when there are a set of words you get more points for them as well (example-ball, balls, baller...)
am I wrong? Later paperdoll! Cheer up!
ok - how unfair is that - it's going to 28F here on Friday - i mean we are semi tropical and totally inprepared for this flukey kind of weather
Hi again. I'm back for a teabreak. Those of you that read the saga of the recycling bin earlier might like to know I got the lid back. LOL. Anyone want any clues whilst I'm free?
sure jac, i'll take a hint for the re8
re8/50 is to re6/24 again. Silly word, I know, but it IS a word.
golly gee! thanks, jac. :)
oops, had forgotten to change my icon. here's the green one. refresh!
am missing the two si 6/18's any help would be gratefully received.
TSM, we're -9F in Montana. My sister is -18.
So harpjane, how is it it's warmer in MT than it is in Sheridan WY? It's now -15, btw. oh boy. A forecast hi of 7. whoop tee doo.
renfield - at this point I am looking forward to reaching 27F this weekend! This morning was brutal - and of course, my bus never came, had to wait 25 minutes for the next bus.... still thawing out with the help of hot chamomile tea!
And I think I'll skip today's workout. I don't 'want to spend 40 minutes bundling up to go outside to drive to the Y.
2nd si6/18 - double up the middle consonant in the si5 before it. 1st si/68 - a mountain range. Also the name of a (UK) Ford car.
thanks jac
Darleen, luck of the draw, I guess! My town is west of the Continental Divide. The air from the Northern Pacific keeps us "warm" I guess. On the other side of the mountains there's not much of that "warm ocean breeze" that you get in Seattle. So I'm told.
ah... what a nice relaxing puzzle.
Any more? I'm here for a bit longer 'cos I'm now waiting for my son to free up the kitchen table so I can do something with the Christmas cakes and then wrap up pressies.
i just finished, jac, so if you want to go i'll be here for a bit to give clues :)
oh, read your message wrong. you DON'T want to go.
Of course, I *could* get on with the ironing while I'm waiting. I *could*, but...
The worse weather in my recollection was the winter of 1979. My sister got married at -22F. (Indoor wedding, but the honeymoon was at Old Faithful, where the HIGH was -45F. Turns out propane freezes at about -40.)
you're really on the ball, jac. i haven't bought most of my christmas presents yet.
oh, Jacula - that wouldn't be any fun!!
Hurshy - I still have about 3 left to buy. Mind you, once I've wrapped what I've got and then had a panic, thinking, 'It's not enough!', I'll probably end up on the hunt again. LOL. Does anyone else do that?
hey, i just thought of something. babbler adopted me yesterday, and she's the president. so that makes me the First Daughter. i feel so important now.
LOL, Hurshy.
jac - i WOULD do that if i could afford to. lol.
i'm going to have to update my bio.
gonna go grab some tea...hands are cold!!
'Hurshy, First Daughter of Babbleonia'.
Yeah, but Harpjane, Yellowstone is like Jackson ... like no place on earth (according to the Wyoming Travel Commision). Well that trumps my -35 Christmas from 1996.
ooh, i like it jac. one sec.
Read your bio., Hurshy. It's offical now.:-)
ta da! bio updated.
i give money - however i give the money for channukah - i've learned to start off w/ small bills and gradually increase the amount 8)
did you see the first update or the second? ( where i added the title and thanked you)
Hurshy - read the second one. I've just read 'Jatb's' bio., too, since she had an English flag and said it was 81F where she was. Like the bio. Made me laugh.
Greetings All! I have about 45 minutes to blow before Pee Wee and I are off to her Gymboree class and I couldn't think of a better way to blow them than Babbling. It is about 25 degrees F here and sunny. A beautiful day. The coldest it gets here is generally 5 or 10 degrees below zero. It is supposed to be a very snowy winter so we'll see if it gets that cold or not. Tough grid today.
Right. Son has now vacated kitchen table so I'd better shift myself and do some work.
hi gang. any clues on the k's? I have the nice k4 and the k5 you may call a bad boyfriend
Hi & 'bye, Minski. I'm popping in and out (if you'll pardon the expression!).:-)
ki 4/8 rhymes with pi4
hurshy...Karys adopted me too so that makes me your favorite au 4!
oh yeah! i'll go put you in. :)
gotem' hurshy. Thanks!
my, what a lovely babble family i'm accumulating.
hurshy - I'm honored! thanks!
am really strugging now - have 6 to find and they aredoing my head in! help please with the pr's? pr4/6 and 5/14, 6/24 and 7/36 thanks
hey au4ie, can i confide in you and stuff? you can be my cool au4.
pr 4/6 looks to rhyme with the front of a boat
hurshy - of course you can...I tell no secrets!
pr 6/24 if you have the 7 before that, remove one e
afternoon all... changed my icon to something a bit more risque, perhaps?
and if you don't have the first pr7, it's a baby born early. the second is a word for the leader of canada.
eva - LOL!
well, eb, i will tell you this then. i have a babble crush. on joelgee. :)
ooo...do you know if he feels the same??
thanks hurshy
how did it begin??
oh hurshy...me too..he was so sweet when i was poorly
i think it's a good think i can't entirely make your icon out, evanadine. :)
heh, its the absynthe faerie
hi tbear!
oh, it's just that he's so witty and clever. i don't know if he feels the same. i think he's kind of a lone wolf type. can't be bothered with entanglements, you know the sort.
hey tbear! :)
hey hurshy - congrats on your new title! Is there a pay raise that goes w/ that? 8)
a pay RAISE? what about pay in the first place?
don't children receive an allowance?
hurshy so my threatening to keep him in my wardrobe might have scared him off...haven't 'seen' him for ages
ren - hmm... good point... i'll have to talk to babbler about that tbear - tsk tsk tsk
ah hurshy - we've all fallen for the wrong lone wolf type (no offense to Grey Woulf if you're reading the log!!)...it's that bad-boy image that gets us!!
tbear- maybe he's in Narnia now...
EB - i'm like you today - waiting on conference calls - hmmmmmmm
yeah, when they're so "i don't need anybody" it makes you want to make them need you.
I'm allowed....I'm single!!! defending herself bear style grrrrrrrr
renny - I am doing work in between chatting...not doing much for completing the grid tho!! : )
Good morning everyone!
tbear - single or not, i don't think anybody's allowed to keep anybody in their wardrobe.
*hurshy sings* "she lies and says she's in love with him... can't find a betterman" this is my way of welcoming you, jc.
mornin' jc... tbear - I wasn't saying you couldn't fall for the bad-boy type...it never seems to tu 4/5 out well!
Tell that to my bank manager then.....he's been there for years...is that illegal...?
i don't get crushes - but i have an antique wardrode - i'll check there for joelgee just in case he's got lost in tbears
well tbear, i suppose if he WANTS to be there...
renny - I'm tellin' ya - he's in Narnia now!!
jc - love the green
so we can all go see the movie this weekend and have a lookout for joelgee!
hurshy - exactly!
No i had to chloroform him....Lol...think you might have to be british to appreciate the bank manager in the wardrobe thing......
*smiles at the nice people* ..... Can anyone help me with my last 3 ? I've got a Pr7 (not the Canadian leader), a Pr5 (not the nosey on, and not th sailing one) and the re5 (I know, it's ridiculous that I can't see it.. but bah, too many Rs!)
only... only... i don't know what he looks like.
narnia -will we see him on the big screen? - maybe we should all take a visit as well.
...and tbear seemed like such a nice little bear (until the chloroform...and stuffing people in dressers!!)
pr7 - double the vowel in the pr6 that comes after it
lol Hurshy! When I was in college, drunk guys in bars thought it would be cute to serenade me with pearl jam in the hopes that I would go home with them. (it never worked!) Thanks Ren. Trying to get in the holiday spirit.
last pr5 - add the state with all the mormons minus last letter
trish- I still have too many to go...sorry!
re5 - to put pen to paper, again
gots to go tutor kids!
bye niece! see you later!
Hurshy, much appreciates thanks :) And thank you for the thought anyway, EasternBlue

M3, there's a guy on here called Sam who's 9 :) Oh, and hi everyone

And speaking of Miyavi.... :)
Hey Bugzy :) How are you?
thanks im sure i tried that already!! back to the pr's !!
Tired from staying up too late to watch a basketball game, but otherwise OK... And you? Any more chemical incidents today?
hi Miya! Hey all who recently joined...I'm getting interrupted by work 8 D
Nope, no science today :) Had a supply teacher for languages so that was groovy...and the usual whiplash after drum lessons! I love Wednesdays :)
Hey Easty!
Miy...how are the hedges?? ; )
Easty, very well behaved today! BUT...the sister and her BSBF (Big Scary Boy Friend) saw the marks on my arm and also think I've been cutting myself. So now my sis's concerned and he thinks I'm a freak :/
Miya - isn't he the one with the pointy head??? BSBF who never removes his hat!!
Ah, I should have put her EBSBF! Ex-Big Scary Boy Friend. They seem to be the only type she's attracted to! But I don't think either of them were convinced by me telling them I was assaulted by a hedge.
...Although Liam (EBSBF) also has a hat...
well darling Miya...we know the truth! Besides...how can you trust (E) or current BSBF's in hats anyway!!
I must depart for a bit...work is calling!
Bye EB... and by the way, I like the elf! :)

That re8/50 was a bummer, but I won the battle, and I've finished in plenty of time to write some of my Christmas cards - haven't started yet, it's all Babbles fault.
why is saturn not a word in the puzzle.
you're welcome Kristina
Lupe....tonight i have no idea, i need inspiration :)
My inspiration is usually fueled by what's in the cupboard, or the daily special at my favorite pizza place.
Oh thanks hun ((((((((hugs, kisses, squeezes,s nuggles)))))) See you all later :)

Mamabear - think 'first'!
hello is anybody out there
Mama - 2 have to do with early babies. 3 are first showing of a movie.
Shorty - congrats!!!!! Go to your profile - and click under the icon edit... at the bottom of that screen, click on Browse - and click on a pic file you have saved to your computer (there's lots on Google Images) and then click on update.... it should be ok then.
Shorty - 6 kids!!! Owwwww! You are strong woman! Bravo!
Hi everyone! shorty, congrats on going pro!

Hi Deutsch!!!!! been awile!
i'll probably be gone when you get back shorty.... will look forward to seeing your icon!!! Have fun!
Hi Deutsch!!! Hi Smaller!!!! Kary's & Haz - sorry, I think I neglected to say hello to you!
Hey, smaller. I had jury duty yesterday. Took the babble grid with me and still didn't finish! LOL
Hi mama, think of me as a black and white pokey!
Hi Mama! Oh, Deutsch, you lucky duck on jury duty! What an honor, huh?!
finished, hooray!
torgone - how come I can only find one early baby and 2 early movies?????
woohoo for miss!
congrats mistearweus!!! (i love that name)
I don't know about an honor. In the end, I was rejected, albeit respectfully! LOL WTG Miss!
OK Deutsch - pokey you are!!!!!
let me take the time to thank all you babblers, i have really been working silently for a few months since I don't know anyone, plus I'm not good at doing too many things at one time (ie, look for words and chat), but you guys keep me rolling!
from the day you all were singing old TV tunes to the PANTS day...I will be sitting her cracking up!
G'day again Babblers! 3 more to find and I am determined not to use the 2nd letter list!!
We are a rather, uh, ... interesting lot, aren't we?
Hi bugzy!
i tell my partner about you guys, sometimes she looks over my shoulders while I babble in the eve, and she'll be like "what are they saying now?"
Deutsch, oh "interesting" is such a polite word! Good for you!
unfortunately, got to go back to work.... harumph!!!! see ya all later!!!!! *parting is such sweet sorrow* - nah..... it really SUCKS!
she'll come home from work and see me at it, glance at the screen and start yelling words! (ones I usually already have, but words nonetheless).
Mama - Add an "e" in both cases.
Thanks, smaller! Let's just say I've been interesting and around interesting people all my life, starting with my most interesting mom! LOL
bye mama!
just caught your post Torgone! helped with the movie but not with the baby.
bye, mama!
It reeally works, Mama.
*frantically monkey typing with one hand and waving at Deutsch with the other*
OOHHHHH, got the baby now!!! I was putting the extra e in the wrong place....duh!!! Thanks.... beye beye!!!!!
Yes, Miss, this game can become quite verbal in the house! LOL
*waves hand of encouragement to Bugzy*
Deutsch and Miss, seems fitting that the word for verbal diarrhea is "babble", doesn't it?
Good afternoon all. Worked on this way to late last night. Let's see if some fresh eyes help.
yeah, its crazy when I start yelling obcenities when down to 1 or 2 words in a letter category. And my favorite is "that's a word?"
babble has become part of vernacular. "babble yourself to sleep", "babble with you later"...oh I have others. My friends look at me wierd.
good one, smaller! Hi Luvmypoms!
May the babble be with you!
*one more to go* Darn these p's!!!
ha! good one, and I'm a big SW fan.
That is so babbleisous!
any clues for re 8/50
Hi Bugzy, Deutsch!
Luvmypoms - I've been waiting all day for someone to use a Green Day icon! :) *Still monkeytyping* :(
Hi Lupe!
Hey Lupe :)
bugzy, I did look for a Green Day, but I found Green Tea Muffins instead.
*patiently waiting with crazy for re8 clue*
use your re6/24
re+ re6/24
Um, that would be crash, and not crazy. sorry, crash. Was that a babbleonian slip?
re8, what you are currently having to do to get someone to give you the clue, and then to do it again
miss - I thought those were lime tarts !! LOL
*twitches ears* guess I better get to work on the re's! Thanks!
LOL!!! No muffins.
Even my "monkey typing" doesn't seem to help today. This is a tough one!
Deutsch - re6/24 = re+mi4/6
Miss, I thought they were green cherries. Now how weird is that? *putting nose to the babblestone*
ok I cant figure it out yet
see you guys are killing me again and my office door is open...(babblestone). I look crazy chuckling to myself.
*slaps self with fish of obviousness* Of course! thanks, Lupe!
you're welcome!
Oh, you're back, shorty. I forget how to get an icon. I can change them, but that's not helpful at the moment. anyone?
miss - the PANTS day, I was laughing so loud my office neighbor came over to see if I was all right (she thought I was crying)!!
i was in tears
LOL Bugzy - the best is when I'm laughing out loud right as someone is passing my office - all they see is that I am looking at my computer screen and cracking up.
i had to hide the log to concentrate on my target score that day, but I couldn't resist and opened it up again and kept choking from laughter.
ty deutsch anybody??????????
Shorty just went pro. Can someone help her put up her first icon?
shorty - In the upper right corner of your profile, do see the [edit]?
shorty, you can save an icon to your desktop by right clicking and saving as (to your desktop, if you want), then upload from the second method on the edit image page.
ok
Hey, torgone! Thanks. I tried once to help someone and kept leaving out important parts!
Yay!! Finally got that pesky p4!! All done without the 2nd letter list!
Click on [edit] - You'll have 2 choices; get a pic from the web, or from your computer.
ok
how do i get it from the web
Bugzy! You're amazing! WTG!
TY Deutsch *Pops cork* Bubbly anyone?
torgone, make sure Shorty knows to log out and log back in before the new icon will show. I didn't know that -- just figured it out after some frustration! :-) Bugzy, interesting you mentioned the "green day" thing to me -I had planned on doing it when I logged on but the icon thing stumped me -- now it is kinda anticlimatic. *sigh*
definitely some bubbly needed here -- it's after lunch so anything goes, right? lol
Good Job Bugzy! *extends champers glass*
I have 13 to go. but what the heck! *Holds glass out for filling*
To get a pic from the web: Find a pic you like, preferably square; right click on the pic; Go to "Properties"; with your cursor, highlight everything on the address (URL) line; right click on that and select "copy".....Try this on someone's icon, then we'll go to step 2..
Well I think it's too cool, pom. I was thinking about doing the American Idiot cover as my icon, but I already had this one, and besides, the Spartans won their game last night, so I went with it :)
*sings 'Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen...'* hello all :)
Hi sherb!
*pours champers for Deutsch, Lupe, pom, anyone else who wants it*
thanks on the champagne, but need to concentrate on some work for once today...bye gang.
TY, bgzy, now back to babble those last 13 words!
Hi sherb -- bye miss :)
parting is such sweet babble...
i'll partake in a little vino... one hour of work left and nothing to do
Parting is such sweet PANTS! Still with me, shorty?
hi Deutsch :) cheers Bugzy! ...not sure if Robin Hood would have drunk champagne...it was probably mead or something in those days...but I'll happily share a glass :)
LOL!!! stop it already, see I really must leave now.
*pours a glass for HotTimale* Robin Hood robbed from the rich, right? Surely they had champagne!! *pours one for Sherb and Friar Tuck too*
Bugzy, they had a GD marathon on Fuse TV last weekend. It uncluded some of their really old videos plus interviews, etc. We were moving into our new house so I didn't get to see the whole thing, but It was fun to watch off and on.
Nooooo, you can't leave, Miss!
I think I confused shorty....
whys that
Maybe torgone. Or maybe she's lost somewhere in babbleland. Shorty?
You need to get an icon. Babble seems to prefer jpeg
oh yea im here sorry
Excellent - Never heard of Fuse TV - is it a music channel?
Are you still trying to get an icon from the web?
yeah
"Fuse TV provides the latest in television, music and music videos." (from their website) Even though I'm old, I like it. It has some funky stuff. lol
shorty - go to Google, Images and you'll find lots of icons to choose from :)
Did you see my 3:00 post? Are you able to get that far?
oh no im reading it now
good afternoon babblers! Been on and off all day, but looking for final three. Any help would be appreciated as I've only had time to finish 2 puzzles since August! I need sa 5/10...si 5/10...si 6/18...Thx
Wow, like MTV back when they used to show videos. And music. (I'm no youngster myself, apparently.) I don't think we get it here on my cable, though. Too bad. :(
sa 5/10 is an alternative spelling of Indian women's wear
it keeps saying opps
si 5 and si 6 are variations of the same word. Extend your si 4/4
Hi Norad!
Oops. The file you selected was not a .gif or a .jpg. thats what it keeps saying
Norad - all 3 end in the same last 3 letters... :)
Hi Deutsch! Thanks Haz and Bugzy...I'm working on it!
shorty - when you save the file, it allows you to select the format - you can either choose either jpeg or gif from there, or use a picture editing programme to save it in a different format
and why isn't 'Kreme' a word? lol
I agree, sherb! And why is kr5 20 a word? LOL
yeah i got it
YEA for shorty!
Any hints on the following, please? re 6/24 re 8/50
I dont know how I did it but I did
Well done, Shorty!
well done shorty...and welcome to Pro! :D
thank you
Aly - if you've forgotten, I coud re**** you :)
re 6/24 - is to tell someone about something again re 8 - is to do as above over again
thank you torgone for your help
WTG Shorty !! *pours Shorty a glass of champagne* Cheers!
aly, the re6 and 8 are related. It's what you have to tell someone when they forget
Thanks!!
woohoo
thanks to everyone who tried to help me
Well, my Babble time is up... have to go fetch the kids. Happy Babbling :D
criminy, I just spent that last 10 minutes searching for words I already have. 9 to go!
later, bugzy!
bye Bugzy :)
thanks for the chat and bubbly. have a good one bugzy
so what advandeges is there for going pro
Hi shorty, you get the stats that tell you how many words and how many start with each letter.
well, apart from hours of fun choosing icons (!), you get the stats panel - click on 'Flip to stats'...and the camaraderie of being one of the Pro bunch ;)
shorty - Sorry I had to bug out for a minute. I see you got an icon! Good job!
oh thats Ok but I thank you for your help
thats cool
hi all...dropping back in to see who's here... Congrats on going "Pro" shorty...I like your icon!
thanks eastern Blue
hi EB :)
Hi eastern, another cool icon!
I like yours to EB
hi Sherb, Deutsch, Haz, shorty, Bugzy, Aly, Tor, luvie, Norad...and anyone else lurking I may have missed!
Shorty, are you new to babble, or just to "pro"? Hi EB... Did you get some rest last night? I was here until about 2 am my time *groan!*
thanks.....while others spend hours looking for cool pix, I spend hours drawing my icons (for the most part) in "Paint"...I've gotten Babbler addicted to it too!
any clues on the first pr 7/36?
just to pro
Hello all! I have a question for anybody that has any suggestions on how to get this game to function on a mac?
luvie - I went to bed around 12:45 my time - just moments before the puzzle flipped...glad it was a 'shorty" (no offense!) today - did most of it on lunch & finished the rest while on a conference call this afternoon...
Hi bbnaz, and sorry I can't help you.
nmp - think babies born too soon...
bbnaz - HI! haven't seen you in awhile... unfortunately - I am Mac-illiterate...I haven't worked on one in about 13 years....
well, gotta go folks...enjoy your day :)
bye sherb!!
Bye Sherb
Hello EB. Have been really busy and computerless
anyone have a clue for ea 6 18 and ur 5 12 please....
later sherb!
EB -- conference call and babble? Now that's what I call multi-tasking! lol
luvie - the project I'm on is running pretty smoothly & still several months til launch, so I don't have to say much amidst all the other system issues!!
ea 6/18 is a comparative adjective. Not so difficult. ur 5/12 is the plural of the ur 4 above it.
sue - ea = simpler
ur 5 is the latin plural of ur4
Suel - ea - it makes it ea_ _ _ _ to finish a puzzle when someone helps with clues....
any clues on the pr 8/50? if have the movie one
Replace the last letter to give prime ministers
nmp, the other pr8/50 is like the first one you already have... spelled differently
Never mind, nmp -- Haz' clue makes much more sense than mine does -- I'm brain dead.
Thank you sooo much you were right ea wasn't hard at all. lol
HI folks! Small grid today but I bet it's a nasty one!
thanks guys
Hi Sherry - it's not too bad - there are a couple of weirder words (aren't there always??)...but pretty do-able!
Hi sherry, I'm 2 words away from finishing!
sherry - I love your icon today!
me too deutsch, what a coincidence!
Thanks Eastern! I got a tank top with that pic!
Deutsch: I think I'm gonna cheat with the list pretty soon!
nmp, which two? I'm missing the re5. Have you a clue?
That's not cheating, Sherry! That's called aiding and ababbling!
yes, add a letter to your re 4, the first one, i don't know what the word means though
im missing the last pr 5/14?
pr5 is old coin from Israel
deutch, it sounds like a really bad smell

Oops ... I meant Anj - sorry Thank EB. Gotta run and grab my daughter. Her car won't start in this frigid weather .. A balmy 3 degrees! brrrr!
How can SATURN not be a valid word?
Proper name
Hey EB, still about?? : ) Cheers Luv... lol Tuva, proper noun strikes again : )
it is a planet
My first hello since last saturday, hope everyone's okay?
This thing wouldn't accept Oreo the other day! How do you think it's goin' to accept Saturn! lol!
Hi Trotters!
I guess it does not accept things with rings around the middle!
Sherry, I luv your icon, what's it called?
bye luvie! Anj - just jumped back in to see who was on & how things were progressing (and to offer clues)...
It's supposed to be some elf or fairy. My sister bought me a tank top in Carcassonne with that pic on. I really love it.
Hi Trotters... Hi Tuva
hello everyone.....I still have 12 to go !!
Hi Karys! BYe Luv!
Hi Trotters : ) EB, me too... Tuva, it accepts 'hole' That's something with a ring around it...usually a doughnut : D

What do you need Karys? Anj, where's the rest of the MOS crowd?
Mama Karys - did you draw yours too??
hello all, it's nice to see a small puzzle to play....
Hi harpjane! Hi baggo!
Trotters, they all finished this afternoon and I think Xmas or possibly the European Championship has blunted their Babble addiction
whose a clever girl then EB...(just like Mummy).. Trotters ..at the moment I'm looking for the re8...ty for asking
Hi Harpjane! Anj: I'm trying to be reasonable with beignets and their likes!!!
Hi Baggo!
had to take a few phone calls. can't they see I'm babbling? Hi baggo!
Baggo, it might be small but it's still hard enough ; )
Karys It's a daft one, look at the re6 before and do it again!
fraid not Eb...can draw...can't post !!!
Sherry - don't you hate it when beignets won't listen to reason?? They can be so fresh!
And hi harpjane and karys and anyone who logged on while I was out.
Karys - perhaps my drawing skill is from my father??
yeah but after my day, i was scared there would be 300 and i wouldnt be able to start...
Hi Baggo :) Hi Harpjane :)
Anj I did the european championship, sob sob, it's all over
Eastern: Aye! beignets a la framboise especially.
oohh...hello there Deutsch :)
i can at least attempt this without having to resort to a2z...
Sherry - hmmmmmm with a framboise lambic....
Trotters, if you're referring to Man Utd, the Stretford end will be wearing black armbands for that performance. No Keane, no guts, no glory i'm afraid.
Anj I spotted your little naughty one!
WELL.....Trotters....how silly can they get !!!....ty
Btw, what the heck is a2z?
EB,Sherry, kriek is better than framboise...or cassis. Framboise just doesn't have the edge for me...
Eastern: you're cruel!!! lol!!!
Help! I'm missing an re 4 ( don't know which one) and the re5. any clues, please?
a2zwordfinder.com its a site to help you find words if you know what they start with, or you can use the anagram part...
Deutch - think about the material in a pen (re/5)
deutsch...the horse rope or the one that looks like said attachment only that it ends in s
Anj, there goalie only did one save, that says it all, oh I do hope Rooney will be OK for the world cup, Utd isn't the place for him now! Karys, I have to admit I used a2z for that one and thought ******!!
Sherry - www.a2zwordfinder.com allows you to enter the first 2 (or 3) letters & see a list of words - with a breakdown of 3 -4 5 - 6 , etc. lettered words...
thanks Baggo!
Anagram? thaW's that enth?
could I have a clue for KR?
So it's a cheat thingy Eastern. Might use that if my brains go butterscotch.
anj, you're killin me...i really need to laugh...
drum, mwah! Well, hit me with the fish of obviousness, but I"m done! Thanks drum and everyone!
since bj's second letter list it has become a defunct thing for me, unless i'm really desparate, but i used to use it a ton when i first got on here...
Well done Deutsch!
Trotters, he will be OK. Could be a few on their way in the transfer window though.
sherry i think it is more of an aide than a cheat thingy...cheatin would be to use a solver...
I'm on the verge... 11 words to go!
Including the manager!
harpjane, Kr it's what vines do or it's that last guy you went out with Or what burglars do in the dark. only with K
Baggo, just another service I provide ; ) Talking of jokes, what's pink and hard first thing in the morning??
Yeah Baggo. My hubris prevents me from using it though! lol!

Lucky you! I speak to them all on the phone and just bout to get a camcorder! (we may be getting on a bit but technology is a doddle!) but will be seeing them over xmas
Does anyone still need clues for the 're's'. If so, which?

Hello
re4/4 - one of a pair that you use to guide a horse. re5/18 - to recharge a stamp pad or a fountain pen. re8/50 - to re6/24 again.
Hi harp :)...wb
Hi Harp.
Karys, I do have my youngest (30 in January) close by and he's a love (and his partner is broody, so here's hoping). I've just looked at some other profiles, didn't realise I could before tonight. Sherry what are you doing in Toulose? anything to do with the european space agency?
I'm a good boy....Except when I'm bad.
Torgone - That's what all the boys say.LOL.
Thanks a lot Jacula! I'm done! the re4 and re5 were actually obvious..whack me people...I deserve it!!!
Doesn't leave must time for the 'good' then Tor ??
Good for you Sherry !!!....WELL DONE
Actually, I've been too good lately. I need a chance to be just a *teensy* bit bad..
Well done, Sherry! No, we won't whack you with a wet fish today. The obvious words aren't so obvious in this sneaky little grid.
Yay Sherry!!
which scale were you using then Tor ?
Torgone, just read you like beer (uuh, what do americans know about beer!) ever tried old speckled hen?
Torgone - You can't be bad until after Christmas Day or Santa won't bring you any presents. He's knows who's been naughty & who's been nice, you know.:-D
Trotters - I like ale actually, Old Speckled Hen sounds familiar. I like Fuller's ESB, and other strong, hoppy ales.
Guess its bedtime for me.....Ni nite everyone xx
Sherry - Funny you should mention Old Speckled Hen. I've just been tidying the drinks cupboard and there's a bottle of that in there, along with Theakston's Old Peculiar, Old Hooky, Marston's Single Malt, Fursty Ferret and Wyre Piddle's 'Piddle in the Hole' beers.
Jac - Maybe if I'm nice enough, I'll get a naughty present!
Torgone - ROFLOL. You never know.
Nite Karys! Jacula: i'm not the one who mentioned that...don't even know what it is! lol!
Sorry Sherry. It was Trotters who mentioned it.
Sleep well, Karys.
Oops! Poor planning on my part; I get into a discussion when I have to leave work. See y'all later, if you're about.
Torgone, there is no way you can be native US!! Jacula, how could you leave it there!!
Bye Torgone!

Trotters: indeed! and there pretty cool wines around here, from the Gers and from the Tarn as well, like Gaillac. My favourite red is Gaillac.
jacula, sherry and all
You said it Eva! with obvious words that you can't see right away.
Eva - I think all those blocks of 'e's' and 'r's' confuse the eye.
sherry, I'm a claret person, (love the reds and they are medicinal!), st.emilion, medoc, nothing better.
Anyway, between wrapping Christmas presents, I'm here for clue-giving when required.
how many words in this one?
Digameg - Only 69 words today.

Marc - Did you get the word in the end?
I wonder what 'refesh' means? I bet it's a Babble word! I meant refResh. LOL.
I seem to be alone here. 5 postings in a row! Well, I've just been bleeped and called away to another forum, an urgent matter it seems. Back in a bit (I hope).
Hello all!!

you were not alone jacula - i was wondering about the refesh - sounds like ' refesh madness'

re8/50 - to re6/24 again.
That's Gumby, not a gingerbread man.....
Jac... you're kidding! never would have got that!!
pr 4/6 - plural
As I said this morning, re8/50 would be useful when your hubby accuses you of 'nagging' when you ask him to do something again. You can say, 'No, dear. I am simply re8/50ing you!'
brandy - fine pix!
I have that one renfield.... it's the last pr 5/14 I'm missing

Yah, about 8 or 9..............

1st si6/18 is a range of mountains. Also a model of (UK) Ford car.
All done!!!! Thanks for the clues!!!! Off to choir rehearsal... have a good nite, everyone *bear hugs to all*
Bye, bye Mama. Sing in tune!
Jacula ty
I will try.... I am sooooooo tired...... nothing like singing Christmas music to wake ya up!!! (I hope!)

'Deck the halls with boughs of holly. Fa, la, la, la, lah, la, la la, lah...'
Mama - free choice tomoz.
how 'bout sa5/10 pls
OK then Christmas Bears it is!!! REFRESH!
sa5/10 is the same as your sa4 Indian garment but with a doubled 2nd in the vowel list vowel at the end instead of a single 3rd in the vowel list vowel.
now THAT's a clue that's FRAME-WORTHY, Jacula!!!!!! LOL
Blimey! I tied my own tongue up with that last clue. Think I've done too many cryptic crosswords in my time.:-/
LOL, Mama. You obviously thought the same as me. You'd better start a hall of fame in BabAnon for it.:-)
Jacula -- I kept trying your clue, then it made sense--ty
(Or should that be a Hall of Shame??)
Jac, even after reading that 3 times...
PBR - THANK YOU! See, Mama. He got it! It did make sense!:-)))))))
su/5 is still eluding me... help please!
Lickety - The list of vowels - a,e,i,o,u. Now read my convoluted clue again, bearing that in mind. *Thinks. I will make this work. I will!* LOL.
Jac... I got it... I was laughing hard as I got it cause that was cryptic as heck
i think the new jacula word is "refesh"
Just have all the pr's and re's remaining...on we go
su5 sounds like the start of of word that means you carry a baby for someone else, it is implanted into your womb and you are a su**ogate mother. Change the last vowel to a no. 1 vowel. LOL.
Thank you, Renfield & Lickety. *Takes a bow.*
Jac... thanks again... :)
PBR - many of the 'pr' words are to do with 'first' or 'best' and 'early'.
tu 4/9 anyone?
ottoman empire or hang a left tu**.
tu4--the beginning of what people eat at thanksgiving.
Hi AKnitter. (You'd have like my knitting hamster icon yesterday.) A tu4 is someone from that country whee they don't actually have the bird we eat at Thanksgiving and at Christmas.
ty jac, a knitting hampster? how very talented, i'll have to tell our pet mice that they need a hobby
Jacula --In the Pr's I am down to 6/21 and the 7's and 8's
*whee?? I meant 'where'. Oh dear! I think I'd better have a drink. No, maybe not, since I'm still using scissors and sellotape. Don't want my Christmas presents all blood-stained.:-(
okay need some help with su5, 12 pretty please!
sending bandaides to you
sellotape????? -- oh love it scotch tape doesn't sound nearly as cool
bbn... ask Jacula! He has good clues!! :)
AKnitter - we used to have 21 mice and 18 hamsters. I once sat with a sick mouse down my bra almost all night to keep him warm. He survived and became one of our longest living mice at just over 3-years' of age.
Lickety - I'm a she not a he! AKnitter - the Aussies call sellotape/Scotch tape 'Durex'. That causes some confusion to we Brits, since it's a brand of condom over here. LOL.
Sorry Jac!
a happy mouse inside that bra! they are so cute
I see it now... the pink icon, the mouse down the bra... got it!
jac, what time is it over your way? shouldn't you be in bed????
BBNaz - if you scroll back a bit, I've given clues for that 'su'.
It's 1.20am. Yes, I probably should be in bed but I'm a bit of a nightowl and not called 'Jacula' for nothing. LOL.
i too am a nite owl. i get a 2nd wind around 12:30 and am ready to go again. get some of my best knitting done after midnight
AKnitter. You're a soul after my own heart then. Where are you located?
i found one pr 8 but not the other
jac i live in massachusetts, a stones throw across the ocean... and you
tyvm Jac. will scroll later for it........
The first pr8 is what the first night of a film is referred to as. The 2nd pr8 is the plural of pr7/36.
ah found the other pr 8, i alway forget to do the plural
Clue for the RE 8 please?
AKnitter. Now you've mentioned Massachusetts, I'm hearing that old Bee Gees song. I'm in Worcestershire in England.
Worcestershire -- like the steak sauce LOL
Aussie Goddess (from Bondi Beach, I assume?) LOL. re8 is to re6 again.
AUSSIE..do your re6 again
AKnitter - that's the one. Next to Shakespeare country (where most of my relatives live).
Hi Poo's Mom. Where did you spring from?
years ago i was in stratford upon avon, lovely little yarn shop there
Thankyou babblers! got it...And im from Victoria...we have Goddess's here too! ;)
Ok -- I think I need the first pr7/36 and the second pr8/50
just quietly typing like a fiend jacula!
AussieG - I have a pic up on another forum with the legend, 'All women over 45 should be worshipped as goddesses'. No one has ever argued with that. BTW, my other half's 12 years' younger than me.:-)
ONLY 4 MORE TO GO!! Yeah ya hoo woo hoo (can't find them)! oh darn!
Jacula sounds good to me..although im 15 years shy of 45..ill start a new trend! Where bouts u from..i can see the pommy flag flying there!
1st pr7/36 - a prematurely born baby. (Add 2 vowels, meaning 'for instance' to the pr4.5 before it.)
4 words left -- the pr's I already wrote about, and the re6 and re8
2nd pr8/50 is the plural of the pr7/36.
Poo's Mon - know what you mean about typing like a fiend. Mind you, when I come into the grid there is usually lots of time. Can't be great shakes to come into it with just over 4 hours to go.
AussieG - I'm from Worcestershire in England.
Jacula -- don't mean to bug ya--I have one of the pr8's, by sssing the 7/36 above, but I still have one pr8/50 left?
18 words to go ...............
AKnitter - Lots of nice shops in Stratford. Did you visit the Butterfly Farm?
hello.Anyone want any clues?
Jac, we aint very happy with you poms taking the ashes away from us!!!...however i have a beautiful friend from the Newcastle area so its alright ;)
PBR - the other pr8/50 - just add the 2nd of the vowels in the vowel list to the end of the pr7. LOL.
AussieG - Sorry about that, but it was about time! LOL.
Jac I do come in here first thing in a.m. Print the puzzle & brandy jack's list to work at lunch break. Then after dinner it's typing like a fiend time
Yeah i know you were well overdue to quench that thirst!!!
Jacula -- I get it'' the English way of spelling right proper words!! thx.. let's see re6 and re 8
Hiya Harp. Glad you're here to help.
pbr - sometimes you have to re**** someone if they forget to do something - then sometimes you have to re-re**** them!
nobody told me that the pr8 that i thought was the 2nd was actually the 1st !!!
PBR - re6/24 - to tell someone to do something you may already have asked them to do. re8/50 - to ask them that again. Don't know how old you but think old Sandie Shaw song, 'There's Always Something There To Re**** Me'.
Where did all the green go? Or is it tomorrow already?
AussieG - not really being a sports fan, I shan't get into that. It was about 21 years though, I think?
Harp - it's tomorrow for us Brits, yes.
what is the theme tomorrow?
help, please with kr 5/20?
All the green was really pretty a couple of hours ago!
Free choice theme for 8th December, unless you fancy being mauve or lilac.
kr5/20 - what you might call an ex-boyfriend!
thanks jacula!
KR-- variant spelling of what ivy does, or a person who bugs you, or someone who gives you the kr____.
good one jacula i call my husband that all the time
Or, to tiptoe secretly so as not to be heard. Just spelt slightly differently initially.
Jac..It was a long time....dont know exactly myself! Have fun all...im off to lunch...summer here! YAYY!
kr 5 something inching along
babs... a weirdo "He's a real kr>>>"
Thanks, Jacula!
Ta ra, AussieG. Enjoy the sun. *Wraps blanket more firmly around self and thinks, 'Oh well, it's colder in Canada.'
yeah--I got them all!!! I am going home now! thanks for the all the help Ok, since many of you are very intelligent (!), if I am traveling from the US to England, what type of adaptor do I need for my Dell PDA?
pr7-36 clue?
I agree Jac, I'm outside of Nashville and we are expecting our first ice/snow storm tomorrow -
PBR - you can probably buy the adaptor at the airport. You need one that can plug in the US 2-pin to a UK 3-pin.
A infant. born early
pr7 when one gives birth early
Jacula -- thx, I am traveling to UK for the holidays...
thanks - had the alt spelling - didn't realise there are 2
1st pr7/36 - a baby born early. 2nd pr7/36 - how the British Prime Minister is sometimes described (not the insulting descritions). LOL.
PBR - Where are you headed for in UK? The adaptor should do the voltage change for you, as I think you use different voltage there? We are 240 volts, but ask at the airport.
Jacula -- Stotfold???
prb - online sroes for pdas have adapters - sometimes staples & officemax too
DONE! see all later!
Well done, PTHomp! PBR - Stotfold in Bedfordshire. You have relatives there?
any clue for su5/12
su/4 any help please.... :}}}}}
The hard fatty tissues around the kidneys of cattle and sheep, used in cooking and for making tallow.
huh?
you can use it for bird food also
Jacula - friends--looking forward to the trip.
Heading home -- long day! Catch you on the flip side tomorrow
I made an su4 crust pastry today. Sounds like Ms. Pollard from 'Hi De Hi' (don't know if you get that in US) plus French word for 'and'.
I FINISHED... First time ever....Where are the fireworks!!
'Bye, 'bye, PBR.
Lickety - WELL DONE! We asked Dr_God for fireworks at the finish a long time ago. We're still waiting for 'em.
any clue for su5/12 please
su5 sounds like the start of of word that means you carry a baby for someone else, it is implanted into your womb and you are a su**ogate mother. Change the last vowel to a no. 1 vowel.
shorty... start with s, then go south of it, then east of it, then north of it, then west of it and you have the word SU***
ignore me... directions are alllllllll wroooooonnnng
ty got it
Lickety - just try saying left and right, and up and down next time. LOL.
Any help for my last 3 words? pr 8/50 (I have the plural of the movie opening) pr 5/12 pr 6/21
Jac, thanks... am excited and elated and stupid at the same time.
Fireworks would be cool when you've completed a board.
Prodrafter - pr8 - proper English way of spelling the word for a film's opening night. pr5/12 - a nosey parker. pr6/21 - plural of above.
pr 8/50 is pr7/36 plural pr 6/21 is a early born baby spelt different
Prodraft... I've got to go... I am confusing everyone here... sorry about that clue... pr6/21 is what Jac said... me, I have lost it for the day...
i'm back for a little while - 8) - bet you didn't even know i was gone.....hahahahahaha
Lickety - not the pr8 wanted. The pr 6 you referred to is the pr 6/24.
Night, night, Lickety. 'See' you later. Sleep well. Renfield, I did notice you were gone, actually. (Said in a very Hugh Grant way.)
I will never message reply to clues again! I must have taken stupid pills this morning *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~ *~*~* Bye all!!
Oh well, I give up on trying to get Dr_God's article via download. It just keeps trying to send me a magazine through the post.:-((
Lickety - don't think like that. This is just one day. Another day may be better. Come back soon!x
(Just a little embarassed) Bye for now!
Ok, Lickety. Come back soon though.
Lickety, Thanks for offering to help. We all know how it is at the end of the day. This will be the second time I've finished one (once I get these last three). Dialup really slows things down.
lickety - hey if i can stay - anyone can stay!
Thank God I'm on broadband! LOL.
i'm still at the office - went out for supper - and i am back to work some more - actually 8)
Lickety - sometimes you are so tired... I know how it is. We all do. Don't be down-hearted. Get a good night's rest and come back soon.

you must be right - actually - i think you must be right! LOL as well
what part of the universe are you in lickety?
Renfield, have just translated your supper menu to UK version - red kidney beans with rice, cornbread and mashed potatoes, followed by icecream. (What flavour icrecream?)
had to go w/ vanilla - my sister in law had the black berry cobbler
Jacula, Thanks for your help on the clues. I am finished!!!!!!!!! <<<<<<FIREW ORKS!!!!!!!!!!>>>>>>>>>>

Renfield, I hope it was a good vanilla with the brown bits in and not a bland one then, after such a bland meal?
need help with the me5/12, ki5/18, the first re4/4 and the ri4/5.
Renfield - Lickety's in Australia, I think?
found the ri4/5
the red beans were a little spicy - i think they have cajun spices in them - hench the 2 diet cokes - potatoes - blah my husband uses real whipping cream in his mashed potatoes -

Renfield - may well have done. There again, the site has frozen me out a couple of times tonight and once, when I was trying to work on a Word doc at same time, it requested a virus scan and froze my word doc???:-/
missing both pe 5/12...
jacula - yes - i got froze out on saturday - i think i had to many windows open - then yesterday my wireless went down - panic - and i had to use my desktop while my notebook sat and blinked at me.
pr 5/12's are plurals of each preceding word
Jacula, thanks, I already had the k/5 but found the others.
Babs - more lords and more fairies for your pe 5's.
glasses time - i can't even tell the difference between letters.... i meant pe 5/12's
Now I see lords a-leaping and fairies dancing i some kind of off-the-wall 12 Days of Christmas type thing.
okay still need some guidance on: pr7-36 (2nd one) pr8-50 (ditto) pr5-12 pr6-21 re5-1 8 sa5-10 su5-12 then I can say that with tons of help, I finished a second babble grid..........
speaking of faeries- where is our faerie lady?
As for the specs., since I'm too poor/mean to pay out £600 for bi or vari focals right now, I never know whether I need my glasses on or off! LOL.
Thanks, got the 5/12's missing a second 4/5 on the pe
there is a flower called a pe**winkle the first four letters.......
wow jacula - that's a lot of bread for specs - mine usually cost about US $300 for designer frames - and no glare - and i need really comgy specs since i've had 3 plastic surgeries on my face (not to make me look good) but to remove the too much sun cancer. My plastic surgeron is great - you cannot even see the scars - and I wanted so badly to be called scar face - my husband even bought me the paul muni scar face movie. we went around doing 30's ganster lingo while i had the stitches in. 8)
bbnaz - you could scroll back to get clues for all of those.
Thx Jac but everytime I try to do that my computer freezes. No worries. will keep looking on my own.
Hey Renfield. Ther was a son back in the late 60s/early 70s called 'Al Capone'. 'Don't call me Scarface, my names Al Capone!'
we'll help you bbnaz - this is anti frozen computer space night
a song eh - i'll see if i can find it - mez will get a kick out of that -
Thanks, bbnaz...looks like I have all the pe's now... missing a re 5/18 and 4/4 and sa 4/4
su 5/12 = su + double consonents (the ones there are a lot of on this grid)+ 1st vowel
Missing the last PR5/14 Clue anyone?
sa 5/10 - is like the sa 4/4 lady from india's dress -drop the last vowel and add a double dip of 2nd vowel 8)
pr7/36 - how the UK Prime Minister is often referred to. pr8/50 - plural of the word above. pr5/12 - nosey parker. pr6/21 - plural of above. re5/18 - to refill your fountain pen. sa5/10 - different ending to the very long Indian garment that is an sa4. A two vowel ending. su5/12 - LITTLE Prudence gets a SMALL thank you!
re 5/18 = like an ice skating r*** - bur insert the 2nd vowel after the r
Thanks for all the helpful clues Jacula...I'm still in the dark about this nosey parker guy....hmm
tyvm ren and jac (will have to work on the britishism as i live in the arizona desert). Mary, try using the spanish word for rte. or the vegetable that ends in ****baga (take the first four letters and put the "p" in beginning.
oh jacula - i like your re 5/18 - i didn;t even thin k of it that way - i guess visualize what the silly word kind of looks like - hmmmm - maybe that's my prob
now searching for first re4..help?
ok pr's for nosey parker (someone who is a snoopy person)- how about if you pr* a lid off only drop the y and ad 3rd &2 nd vowel + one of the sonsonents that's in abundance on this grid
re 4 - like do you have the re** that is on a horses' bridle?
Thank you bbnaz, another new word for me.
Good evening, I am not sure if I already sent this message or not. if I did forgive me. I need a clue for ee6/18 and the second pr8/50 got all the ones prior to that one.
think odd, scary Marc
Good evening, or morning as it is here in UK, Marc. Yes you did ask for those clues before. I answered. No point in me answering again if youn didn't get them before, I guess? *shrugs in a very Gallic way*
Thanks, Ren! You're a savior!
ee 6/18 just a little more weird or scary...
Those nosey parker words usually have a 'y' rather than a first person singular in them.
your welcome - 8) marc - do you have ee 5? add one of the consonents that are in abundance on this grid to the end of ee 5
now stuck on the em's
jacula - i love the word nosey parker - always have - always will.
Thanks Ren got it but had to slap myself for not getting it on my own.
Can I get a clue for the first si 6/18? It's the only one I lack.
em + plus 1st 3 letters of the ee word
The em's - Arabian military commander, independent chieftain, or ruler of a province; also, an honorary title given to the descendants of Mohammed, in the line of his daughter Fatima; among the Turks, likewise, a title of dignity, given to certain high officials. The next one is its plural.
oh and make em plural
where the Donner party had trouble on their way to California
the treasue of the si**** madra
Tabbycat - first si6/18 is a range of mountains and also a make of (UK) Ford car.
Think Si**** Madre.
Thanks bb & ren. These words that double back on themselves cause me trouble every time.
jacula - i didn't know that about the car1 i learned something new today! thanks 8)
LOL, Renfield.
Heya Jac!
Heya ren!
hey look - it's johhny bravo torg
okay am struggling with the final two. the prime minister clue has me clueless any other thoughts?
Think of a movie's first showing, bb.
do you have pr 7/36? if so add the 2nd vowel to the end then for the 2nd 8/50 - take off the vowel and make 7/36 plural
Renfield - when my mother was an office worker back in the late 40's/early 50's - there was a very nosey woman in her office called Jean. One day, after too much nosiness had gone on during a conversation, my Mother remarked, 'Your surname should have been PARKER!' 'Oh', said Jean, who was by then married with a surname I don't recall, 'It was, before I was married.' My Mum then succumbed to one of those wetting yourself fits of laughter in public.
i have the first showing it must be the other one that i need. dagnabbit i hate being so dense
thanks Ren got the pr8/50 do you have a clue for su5/12
BBNAZ - please don;t say dangnabbit or I'll just see 'Grandma'. ROFLOL.
jacula - that is a great story - i will relate it to my husband! He loves the term nosey parker as well - LOL...LOL...what is the term for laughing so hard you may WYP
pr 7? like a baby born before full term? do you have that one?
yes ren i do
su + 2 of those consonents that are in abundance on this grid + 1st vowel
WMPMP, I think, Renfield. (Well May...you can guess the rest.)
Thanks Ren
got it! WMPMP- i like that
der, i have the 8-50. still looking for the 7-36
si, 5/10 and second si 6/18? I'm missing the joke here on the parker...never heard of it referring to someone who is nosey...did I miss something wonderful all these decades?!
Renfield - you won't like it if you actually do it! LOL.
if you have the pr for the opening of a movie it is a 7/36 - then add the 2nd vowel to the end for pr 8 ok - then for the 2nd pr8 - take away the vowel you just added and make it a plural of the movie opening
oh jacula - sometimes i laugh so hard - i can't breath - and then i ....well i have no control over my laughter....8)
Hidey ho everyone...
HUZZAH! I am so dense that I kept looking for a word that I already had. So thanks to all of your stellar clues and most appreciated help, I have finished a second puzzle! Happy to help if anybody wants this doddering gal's input.........
hey grifs - i thought about you today - there was a caddy from Alaska in front of me at the bank!
bing!!!!bang!!!! FIREWORKS- for you bbnaz!
BBNaz - no crime that; looking for words you already have. Have been guilty of that many a time!
For a second there I thought you meant golf. When I drove from Anchorage to eastern PA (and back), I felt a little lonely on the road. Coming into St. Cloud MN one night a gal went past me screaming and waving. Holy crud, I thought, the car is shooting smoke, but then I saw the license plate from home. In 11,000+ miles in those two trips, it was the only expatriate I saw.
way to go bbnaz...still need si 5/10 and second 6/18
Griffums has become Gladys Pugh? Hi de hi!
Yaya bbnaz!
si 5 - take 2nd si 4 - and duplicate the last vowel si 6 - add and extra consonent - you know the one - the one in abundance in this grid
Wow, torgone, I love the set of your jib.....er, jaw.
ooh also missing pr 4/6 and 6/24 *struggling to move two sets of competing dog paws off of mouse*
Babs, either feed the dogs or be pack leader and growl at them to go off and leave you be.
How's it goin' eh, Griff?
dogs have eaten...they just like to lie on bed this time of night (especially when mom is eating something yummy)!
Fine fine. Just trying to finish up the last 20 or so I left from last night when I was BUI.
Babs - I wasn't kidding about growling at them. Dogs need to know their place in the pack. You do not have to be cruel to them to show them that.
german word for woman except you change the "f" to the "p"
Great clue, BBNAZ!
driving home - catch ya'll in a few -
Thanks, Jac...I do let them know who's boss and often have to mix in their pecking order when middle one snaps at my big one to keep him out of the kitchen! And then I have the little guy who thinks he owns and runs the wordld..all 4# of white fluff of him!
drive safe ren
thanks Jac! didn't know any other way to put it. Oh and my dog Elvis knows that he is the hound dog and I am the KING !
drive fast and weave Ren. It works for the formula one drivers, it will work for you too!
\Babs - the little one will try his hardest to be leader, just like small men do. Thing is, YOU have to be leader of the pack (queue the old 60s song). You MUST be the boss, otherwise it's chaos.
Ren I took the si5/10 which I had but when I added the constantant at the end for the 6/18 it did not work. What am I doing wrong. Also any clues on the re8/50
If boundaries aren't set down then chaos rules. This applies to kids as well as animals. The boundaries do not have to bet set harshly ( except in a few cases) but they do need to be set. Okay, getting off my soapbox now.
Yes...you are right, Jacula...ever watch the dog whisperer? maybe it's only on cable in the U.S. still missing the em's --did I miss some clues?
Oh bloody hell, Marc! Ecuse me for talking to you like this, but your have same name as my son! As I've said a million times before (now don't exaggerate!) - re8 is to re6 AGAIN!!!
few more to go...any helpers out there...still need pr 6/24..
SI6/18, Marc - you double up the consonants in the MIDDLE.
early newborn but with only one second vowel after the "pr"
babs, similar to pr7 before it. Remove one vowel
pr6/24 - remove a middle consonant from the word below it.
Jac, I don't mind got both and thanks. But for the record I am older than you. Best to your son.
thanks, got the pr...now to the em's
Need a clue for the first si 6/18. It's my last word. Am I missing something too obvious?
all start...time for you to put on the tierra and change the beginning consonant!
allstart - Treasure of the Si6 Madre.
hmm.looks like I need the second si 6/18
7 years of Spanish in high school and college... all wasted apparently. DUH! Got it. Finished and thanks for the help!
Yes6/18 Bob, you do.
Marc - yes, your are 6 years' older than me. Am insterested to know if your name is therefore French-based rather than after Marc Bolan?
Yay X-man!
help with last pr5/14. My last one.
last words needed: Em's, er 4/4, ea 6/18 and second si 6/18
Marc could also be Polish, I think? As well as Welsh (which is where I was coming from with it + the Marc Bolan thing).
Side note: The best part of making chicken stock is the aroma that fills the house while it's simmering...
babs, er's 1- to er** is human 2-a time period
LOL, Torgone. Stop trying to put people off finishing! The rankings aren't everything, you know! ROFLOL.
ea6 - things are simple, then simpler
Hi Doxy. Did you make that stew yet?
si6/18 - yes si****, add double consonants, double vowels
thanks, doxie...another duh!
doxy - your pr 5/14 starts with 3 letters that are the same as the nickname for the insurance company that uses the Rock of Gibralter as its icon. Then noodle and monkey tpe for the last 2 letters.
hi jacula, nope, been too busy working this week. Have a church party on friday that I am helping with, baby shower on Sat. for my daughter. Maybe next week.
Jac - I know rankings aren't everything. Check my rankings for proof. Just an observation...
TIP OF THE DAY - If you KNOW you've just put boiling water into the washing up bowl DO NOT put your hands into it! This messae is far more important than the inside out bra one I posted a few days ago.:-/
Ouchies!!!
jacula, I did need to ask you a question. What is a swede? Have no clue what kind of veggie (?) that is.
Torgone - will check the rankings later. Think I'm joint 32nd or something like that.
Just a joke, Jac. I got what you meant.
Doxy - a swede is what the Scots call a neep. It's larger than a turnip and has a purplish/red outer skin.
never occurred to me about rankings..guess I'm not all that competitive! Anyway, down to the em's here..
ok, thanks.
All done.
Arab chief/s, Babs.
No Jac my mother just wanted a girl and was going to name her Marcie. So she named me Marc. But the I went and married a Marci. Cute huh.
Babs - you may have to be a stubborn Taurus or an Aries, or maybe a Leo, to be concerned about the rankings. Anj, like myself, is Taurean. Check out his place on the rankings now! LOL.
Well done, Doxy!!! Marc - confusing when the post arrives - just as it is for my two kids! LOL.
ty jacula
Hello to all -- how are you all this evening/day/whatever? I was up till 4:30 this AM finishing this one, so am here to give clues and chat :)
Well, if only those computer-listed databases would bother to use other initials, my 2 kids would not get their post confused. LOL. Never mind, more for the shredder and the hutches.
Yay doxy!!
Thanks, all...just finished...looking at the rankings blurs my vision! Nite all.
Wolfie! Hiya! What time is it where you are now and how's the little one?
Allstar for the last pr5/14 got the Rock of Gibralta for the first three letters but don't understand you clue for the last three could you please clarify.
Goodnight Babs.
Hey Jac -- it is currently 11:24 pm and the little one is fast asleep -- she must have worn hereself out today cos she went to sleep without any of the usual delaying tactics
Congrats Babs -- and G'nite
Yaya Babs! G`Nite.
Marc - last pr5/14, since the puzzle's nearly gone.... Pretty Really Useless Terrestrial Aliens.
Hi, GWoulf and all - I'm 18 words away from finishing. Been working on it at work on paper BUT left the paper AT work (dang it), so have to recall...
By the way, I've been by the way and out of the Babble loop - where's SmeltzDog and MamaBear and the cuzzi?
LOL, JB -- plenty of time left so tell us what you need
Just got a text from other half (away on a night out). I tried to get him up for 3am. *Shrugs*
It's TRUE! I just remembered another one! (hee hee)
Don't know about Smeltzdog, but MAMA is swamped with other obligations both for work and her church -- she has a concert on Sunday so unfortunately we may not see her for a little bit
Thanks Jac that was my last word. I am done and going to bed. All the best, until tomorrow.
JBSAnno - please do not post grid words on the log. LOL.
Night, night Marc, older 'son'.
!!!!FIREWORKS!!!! FOR MARC! He's done.
By the way Jac, the post is never confusing in our house. All the checks go to her and I get all of the bills. Nite
Good work, Marc - sleep well
What? Me, post words?? Well, I ne... ...*okay, Jac, you caught me!*
Marc - sounds like a good arrangement. LOL. Sleep well.
LOL JBA.
So, is there anyone lurking who needs clues? Speak now or forever hold your peace (or spell that last word however you choose, lol.)
JB -- however, Smeltzdog gave me a set of keys for the jacuzzi, so whenever we want to open it up, just say the word ;)
ooooo, look out, 69 words - I'm 14 away from finishing. I just cooked up an sa word and am working on the other sa's and si's.
It is quiet tonight, Jac -- isn't it?
I've finished, Jac, but according to my kids I need a clue . .
So, GW, how do you use the keys? With your paws or with your teeth? Open it up, it's FREEZING here in Phila! Coldest night of the season - 16 degrees and snow coming in on Friday.
Torgone, that's a perfect line for that icon!
Wolfie - what more invitation do you need to open up? LOL. Torgone - what clue??
Aww - AFK FK *away from keyboard feeding kitties* Rev it up, GW, I'll be back in a few minutes! Gotta get my sippy cup!
OK, OK, I get the hint *unlocks jacuzzi, and turns temp up roasty toasty*
Erm. Torg is just camouflaged? LOL.
We're supposed to be getting anywhere from 6- 12 inches of snow here this Friday -- I am going to be wishing I had a real 'cuzzi then :D
He's trying to be naughty, but also nice enough to get a naughty present from Santa.
Refresh, Jac.
Wolfie - Jacuzzis are all fine and dandy but saunas are the thing to have. You can have one with de-gongestants for cold suffers, or you can have a dry or wet one. Saunas are ace. (But don't go to places where they originatedm where they expect you to to go from bathing naked in an ice cold pool, and then being spanked with birch twigs before going in there.:-((
Young, kinda naughty Santa in shades. LOL.
Jac - you're right, sauna beats a jacuzzi any day ;) Oh, and Tor's icon is Johnny Bravo
So, I'm back... and there's Jac saying about being naked and something about sticks... Can't leave you guys alone for a minute!
No, JB - a minute is a safe interval -- it's when we are left for LONGER than a min that we get bored & dangerous ;D
LOLJBsA. True!
Damn, Wolfie! You mean we weren't getting dangerous there? LOL.
Okay, 12 words to go, help! I've got the sa's 1. fill 2. cook 3. mountainous missing a 5/10
Jac - I always consider you to be dangerous... it's part of your allure ;)
Missing 2 e words. I have ea 6, ee 5, ee 6, er 4 x2, andet 4. Any help?
Wolfie - JBSA was away for TWO minutes. LOL.
Hmm, better turn down the temp in the cuzzi!
what???? what happened? i was only driving home and now we're in a sauna????
Hi, Ren, Not only that, there's snow, sticks, and nakedness. Oh, yeah, and Babble!
JB - 1st two sa's are two spellings for the same thing -- which is an dress typically worn by Hindu women
Oops, I meant the si - mountainous. Sorry!
Hi, ren -- we're worse than children -- never know what we'll get into next!
JBs - sa5 - th indian garment with a 2-vowel ending, different to the vowel you already have. Yea, the rest of you, I know he can scroll back and see my frame-worthy clue!
Get in the cuzzi, right? Thanks! for the sa clues, got 'em right away!
actiually - you are so very like children! no oher way to be 8)
Oops, sorry, Renfield. Yes. we're in a sauna. He's in the men's and I'm in the ladies'.
oh my i thought it was a uni......
johnny -- there's an em5/12 and 6/21 combo
er - like a space of time er like mistakes
I thought there was only one sauna . . .
so did I, ren -- Jac must have strung a curtain when I wasn't looking :)
Me, too, Tor. I guess everyone's starting their own.
she's doing ' it happened one night" - you must be clark gable tonight!
Hey, Jac, can I bring a sippy into the sauna?
Sorry, Tor, thought you had 'gone'! ROFLOL. (Bad joke!) No, there are two saunas. You are only allowed in whatever sauna if your eyesight is going. LOL.
LOL, ren -- when I was in college, my best friend dubbed me Clark Dobie Grant in reference to Clark Gable, Dobie Gillis, and Cary Grant :D
Wolfie is Clark Gable??? Jacq looks up from the steam. OOh!
and i was dubbed bud barbie
Well, I am insufferably old, so I'll just go back to my room..
tear down that curtain jacula -
Frankly, my dears, I have 9 words to go!
It is time for the Walls of Jericho to topple!
ren -- bud barbie? btw -- love the icon!
GW, blow that trumpet!
Nope! Tempting though that Wolf may be, I will not be ripping down any curtains, cos my man is my own personal George Cloone,y but with the 'settling gene' plus the X Factor!
ok JB let's go - i messed up on the e's em + the 1st 3 letters of the ee 5 then make it plural
best bud (friend not beer)
As you wish, Jac -- though it makes it mare difficult talking through a curtain :D
Jac, way to scientific for after midnite. Thanks, Ren, I got all my ee's and em's according to BrandyJack's stats I pulled this morning. Um, yesterday morning.
fancy dress ball outfit -
Hello. Looks like everyone's finished?

Glad to hear it, B. I'm a little congested, but I think I'll live.
Hi GW! I've been babbling, just not chatting. Haven't had time. I'm trying to finish three projects at work, all at the same time - chaos.

you are refreshed - master
I shamelessly display others artwork...
Oops, Renfield, you missed it!:-)=
anyone got any last clues on the 2 words that start with em?
This was a good break form all the larger ones we've been having lately -- though it wasn't taht much simpler for being shorter ;)

baby it's cold outside.....
reminds me of a camping trip several years ago. we would put our clothes in the dry sauna, use the outdoor showers, and streak to the sauna to get dressed.
wet...
ruf - can't you tell? my wig is frizzing
i said ethel - don't look....
si 6- not no, si****?
