Morning all :)
Good morning (or evening to me)
gosh, first time i've been at a switch
Morning Debs! (*hug*)
Thanks for all the clues!!! I almost made it! I think I had 7 left
good morning let's see what we are in for tonight
hursh -- ain't it a trip? ;D
first things first.... time to go icon shopping....brb
what - i missed it -
Hi, GW, hi, hurshy, Kinda like going through the Stargate, huh?
Roar! i mean, hello
I am sooo frustrated. Had 59 to go on last grid, the words (largly because of the great clues) were flowing, but my server got stuffed up and was only able to add 2 words in the last 10 minutes!!!!!
t4/4! hurshy - i've gone back to my original icon (didn't want to interrupt the furious clue-giving)
looks like a biggie to me
what is the icon of the day...?? please
LeslieAnn --(*sings*) where do you find lions?
Deep breath. Start again.
Man, what a bummer, Ishult! Oh well, deep breath, go to your happy place - no, wait - you're already there!
only in kenya!
my husband found the first ti4 word LOL!!
lions, blaze
only in kenya, where you've got lions...
474 words
One morning, I shot a lion in my pyjamas . .
LA - my daughter absolutely loves Kenya -- though she loves the Badgers invade Kenya flash even more ;)
oh shoot, shoulda looked at the stats before i started... eek...
s/7 32
s8/45
what was a lion doing in your pajamas?
<meek voice> Uh, oh! Did you say (gulp) 474? YIKES!
the badgers invade kenya??? i haven't seen that one!
LOL renfield!
That's between me and the lion . .
Lions it is...
ok - duh pick on the blonde....
gw i just looked it up that is hilarious!
please refresh!!!!
gosh mine's being slow
mine too, hursh -- always seem to slow down after the flip for some reason
ok there is a certain em5 word that should REALLY count
LOL, leslie Mama - you're gorgeous!
474??????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????
that's like a gazillion million right mama??
why thank you, GW.... you're looking mighty handsome youself.... manely speaking.
It's slow because there are an a3load of people furiously entering words . .
yeah, renfield.... like a quadzillion million trillion and a half!
not me.... haven't decided if i'm gonna yet
How many in a brazilian??
474? Better get started!
at least two, tor! :D
a brazilian bar? a brazilian house? a brazilian brothel?
and if you count the brazilian wax....
Oh, yeah, I've got all the time in the... TIME! OH, NO, <jumping up out of the 'cuzzi, splashing furiously> sorry, folks, gotta go! <grabs sippy cup for one last toast to all the typing lions!>
ok - i give up - how many in a brazillion?
LOL, GW - good one!
bye JB!!! now dry yourself off first - you don't want a rash
bye jb - didn't know a lion could get so wet!!!!
With all the furr around here, Mama, I'll be dry before I get out of the water!
It's the punchline of a bad joke.
This is the biggest puzzle I have ever seen. hmmm....
So long JB -- (*goes to hug, but JB is moving too quickly, accidentally half pulls towel off JB as she runs into the night , towel flapping in the air8)
Is this a tuneup for #1000 tomorrow???
I saw a really cute joke today...
r8/45
well I've entered tor's favorte ti 4/4 - I guess I'm committed.
tor - don't even joke about something like that
Running REALLY fast now!
or maybe be committed, mama ;D
Good Evening, everybody.
hurshy! SNAP!
Welcome to the insane asylum, C-nan! 474 today!
Hello cyber nan.... so far so good on this one....
make sure you're sitting down before you check the stats, nan
Almost 10% . . ..
I have 91 down so far...
175 down, 299 to go
Is 47 words 10 percent? <from way off on the side, GW, don't look!>
JB - the towel didn't come off, just loose a little, -- you're fine!! (*not looking*)
It will have a deleterious (sp) effect on my ranking if I start this. Do I care or do I not?
(*peeking through fingers in JB's direction*)
Jump in, mab. You can't take your rank to heaven.
How can you tell if you're NOT looking, GW? (lol, softly)
what's your joke, lickety? Or did you split???? LOL
JB - a true gentleman ALWAYS knows ;)
a four year old says to her mum, "I know what santa claus, the easter bunny and the toothfairy are".... NOCTURNAL!
Ah, yes, GW, there is that!
licket... the home of clean jokes!! mama, I like that one too!! :D
lickety that is a good one...
I have such joy with the 6 & 7 year olds telling me jokes all day!
The sippy cup is drained, the towel is FIRMLY tucked in, and I am away to bed, to dream of finishing this tomorrow! Good night, now, and this time I mean it - so long 'til tomorrow.
Alright, JB -- sleep well (((*HUG*)))
good nite JB!!!!!
wow...474?? I've only got 88.....o.O
ok jb - really off to the den w/ ya
'Nite, MamaB, ((hug)) 'nite, GW, ((hug)) nite, John Boy, nite, Mary Sue, nite Jelly Bean...
halfway there!
Has anyone found the 10 or 11 yet?
Holy sh4, hurshy! How fast do you type???
WTF? How does everyone do it so fast?
I have not got past 7 letter words yet...LOL
i dunno, how fast do i type? no 10 or 11 for me
Took the words right out of my keyboard, tor!
i've always been v. good at boggle... (smiles modestly)
So have I, hurshy, but boggle usuallly involved pen and paper, not typing :)
I kill (to death) at boggle. This is a bit tougher for me . .
the more you babble the more you know the more you know the more you get.... LOL and lots of luck
MAMABEAR!! *Tackles in a big bear hug*
Hi Everyone!!
oh, well, i did take typing in HS. i guess i do around 60 wpm ordinary writing.
You are truly the King of The Forest, hurshy!
(((((((((((((((((((EasternBlue )))))))))))))))))))))))))
That explains it, hursh -- i only type around 35 - 40 wpm
last time I was tested, ...... 110 wpm with 1 error
Hi EB! This is definitely a 'hot' grid tonight!
uh huh, sure, hurshy's TYPING skills explain everything *conceals eye roll* ;)
ok but without brandyjack's list i don't know how much farther i can get...
wow, go mama!
I saw that LA! :D
hey, i just hit 100, i've got no room to talk :)
if only I could FIND the words as fast as I can type them!
or is that mental eye roll - like mental head slap
101 here, LA
I'm at 109...still have alot more to go.
Of course fast typing is not all there is to it. It'sjust really impressive how some can crash these things out in very little time. I'm honestly in awe of the skill and intelligence of some of our stars, like hurshy.!!!!
*sings* In the jungle, the mighty jungle...the lion sleeps tonight...
149 words here... will be leaving soon i have a big family party to get ready for tomorrow....
do I start this puzzle??? I have a party & loads of shopping to do tomorrow...(or rather, today...)???
That is true too, torgone (*raise glass in salute to the speed babblers*)
163 here -- found myself typing a few twice already -- as if there aren't enough!
well, i've slowed way down now. only 10 words since i got halfway.
must go good nite....
i bet debs is rockin' the puzzle but just isn't saying anything
aweemawack....aweemawack...awe emawack..aweemawack
double checking using brandyjacks lis t is NOT going to be fun -- that is usually where I get my headache on the big boards :\
b9!
G'nite Blaze -- have a GREAT day tomorrow! (*HUG*)
BINGO!
night blaze!
g'nite Blaze!!!
thanks for joining in mama!
why the BINGO?
hurshy called out b9, she had bingo. care to share a clue for that one, hurshy?

harp?
If you work a crossword with a pen you can't er***. Change the first letter.
excellent, thanks! two letters down!
bear? what bear?
Mama - latin for bear...think of the stars...
There's a bear in the U's, mama. Think Big Dipper (sort of).

hi everyone!
You're up early, sam.
hello sam, look at all these lions!
hey. if the be 8 can be a word... why doesn't carseat work?

yes - thought we needed a little color 8)
Did I miss a clue for the h9?
I believe the H9 is people who prefer solitude to society.
474 words? holy cow!
how can tassle not be a real word?
of course, I had to put that in, just to be sure! I think the Enable dictionary spells it -el
mia, it's a german word...
but you can use latin, french and japanese on this board!!
Still lost with the h9?
lshult - your fridge has a he****ic seal around it ... replace the last letters ...
"only" 299 words to go!!!
i can't get that 9 either.
finally got it
little help?
its a bugger of a word... you could read it as someone who makes a life of being a recluse he****ist
yeah, but isn't that spelt with an i?
finally got it. what a horrid word
yes mia, it's a sucky word, originated from sucktown and sucks all around
i can't believe you can make 43 words from the c.
only found 19 c's so far
i've made 105 words. blimey. somehow i don't think i'll be finishing the puzzle today!
ishult, same here!! but just found 4 more in the last minute... what do you have?
mia, I have 222 and am stuck!! Very frustrating!!
lickety - there's a second letter list at Babblers Anon - link on the right of the screen ...
sherb, thanks
Four hundred and ****** seventy four words????? There just are not enough hours in the day for this one. But I just had to find the en11 first.
i always try not to use that until i can't find any more on my own. heh. seems more right that way.
even with the word list hint... can't get any more ca's... grrrrr!
me too, mia ... and it also depends on the size of the puzzle and how much time I've got ...
i found the baby cow caught me out.
lickety - have you tried the babbler's other favourite tool - a2zwordfinder.c om?
sherb... nice one! got all the ca5's in about a minute!!
does anyone have the 11?
en10 plural
hi, everbody
Good mornin everyone. Been too busy to say hello for a while - 220 words and slowing down. Does anyone have the 10?
sorry - see that it was just posted. Now I have to hunt it down.
weird. I typed in the en10 before, had the 11, but for some reason the 10 didn't take.
Was it something I said?
hi Eva and firebird :) I was just away getting dressed and now I'm off to get the papers ... back later :)
hi Eva I'm here on and off. I haven't been at it to long.
Thanks guys.....this is always the quiet time-between zones, except for us early birds (or insomniacs)..
Hello, Sherb and all
Finally got the cr7 & 8!!! Nice words. Not esoteric at all.
what is en and cr pls??? :-)
the en's : a noun made out of a verb which means to twist together- think of doing up your shoes. the cr-think urns
ok,, thanks..
firebird-let me know if those work for you. I'm going to do my usual feeding of wood stoves and cat and then will return.
okies will do stroke the cat 4 me :-)
Any hints for BE9/96.....Please
be9= what you sleep on + what you put your photos in
thanx
Back- everything stoked and stroked. Just have to find the remaining 220 (gulp)
good morning...
Good Morning, Poo's Mom and everyelse too. Looks like a big one.
good morning poo's mom. very, very quiet here this morning-everyone still asleep or not coming up for air...going very slowly at 282 words and hoping for some inspiration from others.
poo's still snoozing but we'll be off to do the laundry soon
Down to 189 remaining. If I just pretent that I'm beginning a 189 word puzzle maybe I'll have more luck?
that might work eva! LOL
why isn't snarf a word? Our cat snarfs us with his nose all the time. And we reciprocate.
*refresh* I'm the King of the Foreeeeeeeeeeeeeest! :D hi all! jaw-dropper of a grid! wow!
morning, babbler!
Good morning Babbler.
Hi babs! Love your icon. Must run and beat the crowd to the laundry mat now. i'll be back!
Hi Eva, Hi Une.Hi Poo's Mom. : ) Is it me, or is this the biggest grid to date?
Hi everyone!
and unea. I have 175 left to go and can't see anything anymore. Hopefully the two of you will be full of your usual brilliance and clues. The vultures are circling.
SAM!!!!!!!!!! Welcome to your day!!! :D
thanks babbler!
my pleasure! do you recognise my icon?
yep *scardey pants* (*^_^*)
babbler - can't quite make it out. Is it Bert Lahr from the Wizard of Oz?
lol!! yup! :D "put 'em uuuuuup!"
courage!
roar.
I don't know the actor's name, Eva, but yes, it's the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz
I'm very tempted to jump into this grid, even though I promised myself no more big grids! I think this is the biggest I've ever seen!
LOL!!! I need c c c c c c c courage!
Makes me think of an old political joke: (I'm not doing anything useful with my brain, so might as well): George Bush (senior), Dan Quayle(remember him?) and Bill Clinton land in Oz. Bush says "If I only had a heart". Quayle say "If I only had brain", and Clinton says "I wonder where Dorothy is".
lol Eva! Haven't heard that one! : D
babbler- who long have you been playing babble
i've got that picture, eva--it was terrific!
since 7 August, Sam. when did you start?
and cheney says, "if i only had a heart"
Yes, we have many who could speak that line convincingly.
around november 2005
so true
we're both pretty much newbies, compared to some players, Sam. I wonder if there's been a bigger grid?
there was one with 418
does anyone have the 11???
sam- if you look back a while there are good clues for the 11. It begins with en10 and then the plural.
I cant do any of the others.
They are nouns, made out of a verb that has to do with tying up your shoes. It means to twist together.
ok I just started--is there and extra "al" word that is not on the list? Specifically an " al 4/4 "
alien, I can't use the list for this big a puzzle - destroys my vision and neck, so I'm just free styling here for the moment. Will probably look at the list when (yeah, fat chance) I'm down to under 30. Now I'm still missing 168!
Good going, Eva! I know what you mean, that's what's putting me off playing this big a grid - too painful! Was it ok getting to the point you're at now?
I can't get the eleven.
there was a 500+grid once that I remember!
wow! I have to go eat be back in a mo..
hi Atalante : ) when was that?
way before the newer influxes of people! I can't remember - not long after I started ... which was ages ago
I'm scared of this grid. : / I'll go get the papers and think about it..... My icon was an apt choice, wasn't it? lol
I'm scared of it too. Why I just started, I'll never know!
heh heh.... I haven't entered a single word! been listening to music and drinking tea instead.... (avoidance tactics!)
I just started with the firm idea in my head that I've no intention of finishing it, just having fun. Easier that way!
Babbler...you're smart...I 'checked' it out at the 'flip' and then started to enter words after I said I wasn't going to!! Hello Everyone!
EB !!! :D xxx
jump in, babbler--you can do it!
that's a good way of looking at it, Atalante. I started off like that.... now I seem to be determined to finish. Maybe I need to take a leaf out of your book. : )
but Une, I haven't got any c c c c c c c c courage! : /
I'm usually determined to finish, but with this one? I know its probably unrealistic ... so I'm giving up the competitiveness for one day!
just follow the yellow brick road . . . . follow follow follow follow
the other day (I think it was a 290)...I thought I had 2 1/2 hours to finish a grid (it was a late night & I wasn't paying attention)...I got 1/2 the grid completed without going crazy!
Babs - it's there inside you all along!
I think that was another one I skipped, EB. I was sorely tempted, but managed to resist... : /
See...you do have courage!!
lol Une! Now I've got that song on my brain..... : )
I haven't got the c c c courage to play such a big grid, though, EB.. : /
just watch out for flying monkeys!
its exactly the same as a "normal" grid! just a bit ... bigger ...
lol! we had monkeys as our theme on Friday! gosh, definitely a wizard of oz thing going on right now!
i have a friend who, well into adulthood, still had nightmares about those flying monkeys!
well, I'm off to get the papers. mayyyyyyybe see you later....... ; )
as if you'll be able to resist much longer ...!
Babs - you can always come back to just 'chat'!!
*chortle* I probably will, EB! ...and continue to resist the urge to enter a word for the next 16 hours! lol
Babs....that would be a record I believe...!!
I'm back!
Hello again Sam!
hello everyone wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to big for me today
hi shorty!
Hi shorty!
I think this is the biggest puzzle I'v seen yet
Once they had 500+

bye shorty
bye shorty!
bye s s
bye e b
Good morning, monster of a babble, I am stuck on ra8, got the first four letters as in driving a car fast but really stuck ont he last 4 any help with a clue??
Marc - this was a clue from last night... check _ _ _ _
Yes and I still can't figure out the last 4 letters
Marc Think of having a pal along on the ride during the ra**
Marc - you say it in chess.... or what an Aussie might call a friend
Marc, the person that you live with in college is your room****.
Slap my head I got it. Anyone have a clue for en10
It's the noun form of another word for entwine -- with a similar construction. The earlier clue said think of what you do with your shoes, then plural.
marc... en + 'shoe' _ _ _ _ + 'apart'_ _ _ _ the ll is the plural
Sorry don't get the shoe
Marc - you tie them...
oooh!! guess what? The Wizard of Oz is on tv today!!! yayyyyyyyyy!! :D (sorry, just had to share....)
My fave movie, Babbler...have fun watching it!
great movie!
I love that film so much : )
Soo...does anyone have any of the big em words? I don't even see the small ones!
Thanks I got the en6 now working on the last two letters, am I in the right direction?
EB, I've got a plan..... I'm going to do today's jobs, then an hour on my bike, then I'll play!! Gotta have a go at the monster grid!
no...
Babs - resistance is futile!
but that sounds like a good plan!!
do you like my icon? I took a b&w photo and souped it up!
wow! I thought it was an actual art piece!! verrrry cool!!!!!!!!
Eastern was that no for me. If so where am I going wrong.
Yes, Marc, the big ens are derived from the en 6/21. Think the m___ (mind) strain of completing this puzzle for the last 4 letters of it.
tee hee!! I can't draw like you can, so I have to go down other avenues!
melissamay, MA8/50 there was a ma8 at LittleBigHorn to Gen. Custer's men
Babbler-sort to have dropped out of sight but was soaking in the tub with epson salts. So, no, I can't play for more than aboiiut 15 mninutes without causing pain that doesn't necessarily lift when I stop. But of course I get caught up and go for too long. You'd think I'd know better by the ripe old age of 56, but no.Sounds like you know the story all too well yourself.
sorry Marc...the no was for the em's
Gwen, I was actually looking for the EMs...but that was a nice big MA that I didn't have, so thanks anyway!
yes, Eva. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, so I'm in the same boat as you... : / boring, isn't it? : (
Saw a good T-shirt the other day: "Don't make me send the flying monkeys after you!" They scared me a lot more than the witches when I was little. I used to close my eyes when they appeared.
Thanks I don't get it I typed in that word before and it didn't work. Have to go now with 333 left. Thanks all and see you later.
em7/36 - The white stones are diamonds, the green ones are em7
The big be words are fun -- some nice ones in there! I especially like the be 7/78 combo meaning old woman.
Bye Marc...
Babbler-well, we're fibro buddies. A pain in the a__ (except that's one of the few places it isn't) isn't it? And I refuse to not enjoy life anyway, so so most of what I want, sometimes on medication if it gets too bad, but still moving. Went to bed feeling fine, thinking of painting the bathroom this morning, and woke at 4 am very much not fine. Oh well, so it goes.
Ah Gwen, thank you so much! Appropriate, given the film everyone's talking about.
I hear you, Eva! : / Pleasure to meet a fibro-buddy! You'll have to let me know what the advice is in the states, and I'll share what they say in the UK... babbler_2005@yahoo.co.uk
need clue for last as7. I have the back of the boat
Sorry, Gwen, I wish I could help but I don't have it either.
It's a deal Babbler- I have to get off now so my husband can use the phone, but will write later.
Gwen...I don't have it yet...
ok, speak to you later, Eva! me too - time to crack on with my jobs. ttfn everyone!
Bye Eva... Bye Babs... see you later!
Does anyone have the as7/36?
as7/36 - a flower (I think); or think of a non-moving pollinating insect
For the record, I have fibromyalgia too.
i'm here! don't start this party without me!
Anybody have the AD's?
that sounds remarkably like a disease ...
an acquaintance of mine has fibromyalgia - dang difficult thing to deal with.
ad7/36 Impervious to pleas, appeals, or reason; stubbornly unyielding. inflexible.
or..First man + tiny worker picnic pest
Got the AD's. I'm up to a whopping 126 words. Off to the Christmas Music Vortex....two rehearsals and a church service....
having trouble with the non-moving pollinating insect. can't find pupa. as7/36 is driving me crazy
Gwen...as 7 is getting to me too...
holy 4 letter words!!! 474?!!!! Is this the biggest grid we've had? do I dare even START this monster? What's he going to do to us tomorrow? {thud}
as7 - another name for the plant _Spirea_
oh yeah. good morning everyone.
* tosses cold water on darleen *
*waves smelling salts over darleen's nose*
there there * pats hand * its not so bad
thans even ... eb... I think I think oooooh my head
Good morning everyone. 474 words!!! I usually try to get half of them before I get a break...Have church in 2 hours so that won't happen today.
trying to balance this with christmas wrapping today.
Thanks Atlante!!! Got it with your clue
Balance? Evan you must be joking?! to start or not to start. Oh drat. The clue for spirea got me and I entered the word before I could stop myself. ack.
and the tangled web of babble engages another!!
darleen, i got narcotics...would you like one?
um, yes, please Evan. Pass 'em over.
the thing about these big puzzles is, so long as i don't think about that final number, i feel like i'm doing a really good job.
one or two dar dear?
Well yeah. It's real easy to get a couple hundred words with little effort. Then the real fun begins. {gag}
Oh evan, one will be plenty. thanks.
chucks a good pill at dar
{gulp} got it evan. thanks again. whew. ok, all if fine. ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm
now get to work!
yeah only 465 to go. :-P
I have 310 words. You'd think that would be cause for celebratioin, but nooooooo......
damn Eva, you been up all night??
Ooh just saw the tshirt post from earlier. Got a good one ... I was going to conquer the world but got distracted by something sparkly. hee hee. hubby says that's me all right.
eva- well I'm impressed with you. I have 37. good luck to you all today!
closing in on the first hundred - wooo woooo
No, woke up at 4 am and began playing, then breaks for bath, cat, wood, and back again.
um, you bathed the cat? giggle
ooooh - wood, thanks for the reminder eva
If I had bathed the cat I would now be applying bandages (to myself, not him). He does not suffer such indignities quietly.
lol, yeah, I know, I know. We had a white cat once who got locked in our dirt floor garage overnight. We HAD to bathe him as the previuos owner had poured motor oil on the dirt to keep the dust down. THAT was fun. not.
my cats take it in stride, of course they're odd. they also like the vet.
Yes,mine can turn into the cat from hell when threatend by water-although he likes to watch it and loves being brushed.
We had a cat (our all time best, btw) who (being part manx) LOVED the water. He'd climb right into the tub with you.
does that darn as 7 really exist?? I cannot get it for the life of me!!!
don't let your present cat hear that. Ours is part Maine Coon, so very doglike, following us from room to room, but everything has to be on his terms - not a lap cat.
yup, EB, sorry. It was the first word I got (thanks a lot atlante for sucking me into the monster grid)
Eva, hubby wants a maine coon. We love our kitties. (don't tell the dog)
morning all..I nearly fainted when I saw the amount of words in puzzle~~ Whio has the time to find them all...I have found 207 and am..BOGGLED out...yikes.
cousin had a main coon - evil viscious creature if ever i saw one
Eastern Blue - it's hard if you're not a gardener. Try this: a + part of an s word for motionless + part of a word for a black & yellow honey maker.
morning liana, try drugs, it'll help, LOL
melissmay, I can't find the be7 meaning old woman, help please
peri try part of b (something that rings) + slang for woman
Eva - a honey of a clue. Thanks
I think like all animals, the meanness has little to do with the breed and more to do with the individual, sometimes trauma. Ours had been abused as a kitten, and it took him a long time to figure out that life could be good and safe. But he is very affectionate now, and mainly refrains from mauling us. Since he's only part Maine Coon (the rest is black & white longhair) he doesn't have the usual mammoth size - 23-25 pounds. Our next cat (but of course Merp is going to live forever!) will be a Maine Coon, if we can find one at the pound.
Darleen, thanks so much, found them both right away with your great clue
Thanks Darlene & munner!
y/w eva
YEAH!!!!! dag-nab as! got it! thank you for the non-gardening clue!!
Ha..Darleen. I tried lexipro..and its only making me tired..ha..at least not depressed..LOL.
great Eastern Blue!
Ah liana, I'm using the "virtual" kind, hahaha. But I'm ready for a motrin.
okay..*sigh*..213 and am calling it quits..maybe back tonight..GOOD LUCK to you die hards~~~ xoxoxox
bye, lianakate. I'll be leaving soon. Will definitely get back this evening.
bye liana...
Have to stop, have to stop, have to stop.....someone please, come and take me away!
no way eva, if I have to suffer I need company.
*big hook swipes eva off the stage*
Thank you Eastern Blue! Bad doggie Darlene!
darleen, you are sooooo positive, i can't hardly stand it
i'm thinking that if i find five words for every gift i wrap...
moi? positive?
you exude positivity - or is it you positively exude something...* hmmm *
"only" 99 to go--woohoo!!
(looking up from the grid) eh? Somebody talking about me again?
Now I'm really getting it--just finished all the word for two letters :) Guess which 2 letters, heehee?
nope
hm. Why do I feel like a zebra with a lion lurking in the bush? (nervously looking over shoulder)
for darleen * BOO! *
peri - I found the ice shoes you wanted
(JUMPS OUT OF SKIN!!) Don't DO that! hahahaha
he he he !
marigold, thanks, I will play a little longer. Would today be good to pick them up.
yes i will be going out in an hour
marigold, call me when you get back then, okay?
Good morning everyone -- don't know if it's been mentioned before, but I think there is an am 4/5 missing from brandyjack's list.
Whew! (taking a deep breath), made it halfway to 238 words. Now a sprint to bathe, get dressed, eat a bite, and leave for church in less than an hour. Good luck everyone.

any clues for "an 6/21" ???
an 6/21 - like the en6 that is the basis for the really long en's except for the first letter
474??? Shoot me now...
*paintball sploshes on jera*
*falls to the ground covered in purple goo*
*hurshy holds out hand to help jera up*
*accepts hand... jumps up and brushes self off* Greetings, all! (wonders when's the last time anybody swept up around here)
alright, jera, you feel better now? start finding those words!!! :)
What?? I was doing such a good job of stalling...
no time for stalling today...
*decides to sweep up chatroom to keep stalling from finding words*
Jera, I've stalled all day! Still not entered a word yet..... don't have any c c c c c courage... : )
Don't worry Jera -- the 1st 200 go real quick!! ;D
i can give you some babbler!
Hi all, doing some surfing and had to check in:)
you seen the Wizard, then, hurshy? he's on in 45 mins here.... (tv) : )
i think he was on last night here
*hums cheerfully... still sweeping*
*Babs gets the duster*
whats up with all the lions today
it's lion day, for speedfreak sam. : )
ZA- that's the theme
I have fond memories of my Sprite being in the Wizard of Oz... she was in the chorus, so to speak... lotsa bit parts... she was a munchkin, a flying monkey, a ghost (not a jitterbug) & and an Ozian... good times...
guys, just start with the da's, they aren't so bad.
the a's and the r's look hideous..... : /
this should have been "little engine that could" day
no, I think the Cowardly Lion just about covers it! lol !
Babbler -- I request that Monday, the 26th, be badger day for my daughter :)
hi GW! soz, but mtnjock already nabbed tomorrow for pics. Could do Tuesday?
'cmon Babbler and Jera just enter 1 little word to get started.....
badger day? is that as creative as the lion day?
*starts polishing windows, humming happily*
ooooh! you mean Boxing Day, GW!! of course!
babs - he said the 26th, that's not tomorrow it's next mon
Babbler - I said NEXT Monday, bab -- the day after Xmas
i think I need to ask the Wizard for a brain as well..... :/
LOL, :)
can you guys live with yourselves if a 9 year old boy can try this puzzle and you can't?
What kind of photos tomorrow? Like family? Or like us?
Jera: There is some reallly fun words here...just try it
quite happily, hurshy. I'm not proud! (unlike normal lions!)
dunno, Jera. I was going to post a pic I'd taken (if I can find one that's ok)
lol
I could scan my driver's license photo... oh wait, halloween's over...
back to type in some more words...ho hum.
GW, I just put badgers in my handbag. : )
*slowly and fearfully types in a word...* be6/30... how appropriate is that??
done through the d's!
dunno, Jera... can't see it... :/ *picks up duster again*
ZA -- the idea behind the icon theme days is just to have fun seeing what kind of diverse imagery we can come up with -- participation is voluntary My 2yo daughter LOVES the Badger, Badger, Badger flash and always asks to see it when I log on, thus the theme is born ;)
Thanks, Bab! (*hug*)
go jera, go jera!
my pleasure, GW! anything for a little'un : )
ok Babbler your turn...enter a word....'cmon you know you want to....
*looks at the clock* well, would you credit it? it's time to make dinner! lol!
ooh, hey, babbler, one of them is relevant to us. the city we went to...
jera, when my daughter was very small we took her to a local production of the Wizard of Oz--we knew the cast and they kindly seated us on the aisle which doubled as the yellow brick road . . . BUT when Dorothy et al. exited thru the curtain at the end of the scene where they head for Oz, Jennifer leapt up and followed them off stage!! :-)
Said little 'un is in my lap making me draw a farm, of all things, and giggling maniacally while I do so :D
aaww :-)))
awww, cute, GW! hurshy - yes, I know, I saw it.... !
GreyWoulf-I'm sorry I didn't mean to insult your idea, I just could'nt imagine that many creative badger characters
stick around ZA! you'll see we're a creative lot! :) well, time to make dinner..... ttfn! : )
I would do the Hogwarts' Hufflepuff badger...
Why is tassle not a word??
ZA - no insult -- I misunderstood your question as applying to the whole theme concept But Google Image search can sometimes amaze you with how many pics that relate to a particular topic are out there ;D
is there a badger in Wind In The Willows?
tassel
LOL, Unea!! Ran off to Oz, eh?
Also, ZA -- we have a bunch of aspiring artists in this bunch -- you never know what they will come up with next!
do you like my icon? I got a b&w pic and jazzed it up!
yep, to her it was the most natural thing in in the world!
I believe there is, if I remember correctly, Bab
I need to become a member so I can join in on the fun, I can be creative and be badger from winne the pooh;)
In North carolina, there's a Wizard of Oz theme park... we saw the show & I ran up on stage to pet the Cowardly Lion... I was cute & brave 30 years ago...
yayyyyyy ZA!! do it! do it! do it!
it's lovely babs
oh, i would have too!! LOL!
thanks hurshy! 28 mins to Wizard of Oz.... gotta put the dinner on.... bye for now! : )
Is that the way it's spelled, hurshey? I think my spelling ability has gone downhill fast since I started playing Babble...
oh it was on here earlier--had to sit down and watch awhile even tho I've got it on tape in b&w and color!
lol jera
Is Wizard of Oz coming on TV in England or something??
my 41/460 is enough for now I have to go get ready for the work week
Jera - from listening to you, I would have to say that you are still cute & brave :D
Great start ZA... better than me...
and yes, The wizard is airing over in England in a few minutes
thanks jera, keep at it, bye now
Jera -- when are you taking your train journey?
Awww, GW, ya flirt! Thursday night... the tickets arrived yesterday!
Now I just have to not lose them, LOL
em7/36--how appropriate re our Wizard discussion!
One of my favorite rocks, Unea!
thanks uneaixoise!
my pleasure!
Now I just need to find someone to pick us up from the station at 8 am...
under 100 left and done through the i's! see guys, you too can do this grid!!
Jera -- /no one from the family is willing to help you out?
unea is a m6/21 at babble along with millions of others including me of course (*^_^*)
dunno about that but i'm certainly addicted!
when did you start unea??? And what are you on the who's hot list???
I've e-mailed on person but no reply yet... I'm sure someone will, just haven't made actaul confirmed plans yet...
not sure when i started . . . sometime this fall . . .
same here.
up to the grand total of 48 now :-)
afternoon peeps! The first 200 fell like ninepins - was starting to feel quite chuffed. That was an hour ago. Sob. What the hell was I thinking when I started this?
what do you have 48 words to go or 48 words you've done?
hey, dachef!
48 i done :-)
Hey Dachef: I made it to 203 and now stopped, think I will get some housework done tackle the rest later...
how about this idea for a new red box: "oops! You've already tried that and it STILL isn't a word!"
LOL, Dachef... I'd have that one all the time...
I think that comes up if you try the same word over 50 times, Dachef :D
LOL Dachef.... or 'Well... Finally!'
I was thinking, it's a good thing I don't go to church...
I just love that word, "chuffed" I"m learning a whole new language from my brit friends here...
housework? sam? what housework do you have to do?
Im sure the red box said "are you serious?" to me once.
oh, no, i see, i got confused between speedfreak and speedfreak sam
hurshy: we are not usually on together, but I see there is another speedfreak, no relation ....sam is a 9 yr. old boy...I am an adult women (blah)
I only do housework around the chatroom... IRL it gives me hives...
too many speed freaks
Will our families understand if we are not prepared for Xmas due to Babble???
hey, i wrapped my presents yesterday when the puzzle wasn't so long :)
i expect so speed freak
too bad we can't click on the tiles to make words, it would make holding the baby while playing so much easier ;)
surely they'll understand...maybe
grey, have a talk with dr g ;D
Ooh, good idea, GW!
GW - let the baby type for you. With the way these words are today the baby'll probably boost your score.
I'll ask him about it right now
like at www.eastoftheweb.com
ooh ooh! past 400!
message sent :) probably it's a progamming concern...
How's everyone doing? -- just spent the last 2 hours reconciling my word list with Brandyjack's list. Whew!
BBL all..
I'm impressed Hurshy -- you were either up very late or very early?
I don't have that option, c-nan -- my printer is down so I am stuck with on screen reconciliation -- much slower, but it works :) I only have 222 to go, though
well, cyber, i spent 2.75 hours working on it when it first appeared (up very late!), getting 309 words. i have now been at it for almost 2 hours since getting up, and have 64 left to find.
I thought you meant you had over 400 -- I have 203 to go. Do you have a clue for the ad's?
ad7 - very insistent
Ooh, GW -- don't think I could survive without my printer!
i do have over 400 - are you mixing up me and GW?
Thanks, Hurshy -- just couldn't see it!
the big issue is taht something in my core operating system prog has flipped a bad bit or something -- my neighbor says I need to reinstall, but I do not have the ability to do it on my own so I have to wait for him to be available
I keep wondering, though, how is it that an adjective can be pluralized? -------- french, yes, but English?
cyber- i think it has another meaning too, as a noun
GW - check to see if you have to reinstall, or reformat the hard drive -- if it is the latter, you'll need to get busy burning all your important files on a cd.
200 to go... gotta take a warm-up break & watch 1900 house... later all!
I know c-nan -- I 've been putting that off though I should do it anyway :) At least, the majority of my stuff is on a data drive so that my C: drive doesn't have too much on it that can can fragged
oh, i loved 1900 House!
Hi Guys ((GW)) Well I haven`t entered a single word today.....and now I`m back from Christmas shopping, looking at this grid I`m not likely to bother!!!!
hey lotti. :) nice to see you.
((*lotti*)) Awww, C'mon lotti! all the cool kids are doing it! ;D
I used to print off the word list and reconcile, but one day my printer had a strop and I discovered a new way of doing it - I copied the wordlist into notepad, and simply transfered my list onto it. Its much easier cos you can have the notepad window open alongside the babble window and oimmediately see where your gaps are!! I would not go back to paper now!
Have you got far with it Hurshy?? :)
Hi Lotti! Chicken!
yeah, dachef, i do that do, only in Word. and i set it up in columns so i can see more of the list at once.
yes, lotti, only 51 left to find. but *shudder*, i've just hit the re's
Dachef -- what I typically do is have multiple active windows open -- this way I can get a real time update vs teh 2nd letter list Not being able to print out means I can bring the grid to work with me though -- (glad I am off today as a result :D )
Oh yeah Dachef....thats me today, very, very yellow!!! Nah i`m not gonna start!! I only came for a Tor hug anyway :) !!!!
hello again folks... heard of any crazy people who've finished yet?
lotti - we salute you! Your resolve is admirable!
not yet LA -- but hurshy is THIS (||) close!
i'm sure some people went straight through and finished right after it came out
*takes a bow* Thanks darlin....the temptation is killing me though!!! lol
i bet debs 40ish finished
lotti - I haven't seen tor but ((((((****HUG****)))))) from me I hope that helps a little
hello all... sorry to lurk, but with this big of one,i had to hide the log....i finally tamed the beast...

thank you GW!!!
thank you dachef!!!
let's see, that took just over 5 hours...
I'm struggling to get past 266 :(
whoo hoo thanks for the hints, just got the 10 and 11!!!
GW I am right behind you with 260
Go Hurshy!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully I won't be *too* many hours more!!!
Congrats to you Hurshy !!!!!!!
keep going, guys! this one feels VERY satisfying to finish
thanks peri, atalante. atalante, how many left now?
the a's are driving me nuts --- darn this an4/4 retentive nature of mine! still need the am7/36, 1st as5/6 pair, and the as7
still 99 LOL - I had to go and get dinner shoved into the oven! Back on the case now :)
Can't find either i word, are they obvious ones?
yes peri, you don't want clues for that
am 7/36 - think of a food your baby eats, change the ppl to an m and remove the u
Thank you so much Leslie!
as 5 and 6 not EXACTLY a pair, but the 6 does add one letter to the 5 the as5 is a flower the as6 means off the rear of the boat
and once you have as6, your options for what can come after that alphabetically and be a 7 are extremely limited, that's how i got that 7
Thanks hurshy!
aaaagh!! 474 words?!?!?!
I meant the very 1st 5/6 after the 4/4, hursh - got the flower and nautical :)
ruffh20, hahahahaha, LMAO. EXACTLY what I said. Have fun.
wondering if I should even start this one...
Well done, Hurshy! -- still have 103
Hey might as well jump in and join the rest of us!
ruff stands at the edge of the grid, holds her nose, closes her eyes, and jumps in.
sorry GW i read 1st as last somehow
the resulting tidal wave washes everybody out of the chat room
that as6 means to attack the as5, chop off last letter
Aw ruffh20, not that bad. I'm still swimmin'!
(those as's have double consonant)
did you get the others, GW? and peri, did you find the i's?
(*Splutter, choke*) (*furiously doggy paddling against the wave*) 'Sok, hursh -- I am just feeling REALLY dense right now cos I can't seem to wrap my head around the other two :\
ruff tosses gw some water wings
oh, sorry GW. my clues weren't good.
got the 5/6, hursh!
trying again. am7 - same 1st 3 letters as prev word. then add consonant, then add the highest (or lowest) card in a deck
I'd offer to help, but I just started.
as7 - add "___ we meet again" and "to __ or not to __"
Thank you hursh -- now I have 6 grey boxes on my stat grid
appropriate, since you are grey
I only have two grey boxes, and one was a freebie
so was one of mine, ruff ;)
back in a bit, baby is having a meltdown :)
68. and conquered the m's. anything feels possible after those!
ok I am done for now. I might be back later :)
OK, done with the vowels, 200 to go. seems a good spot for a break. bbl.
any SA-7, and 8 clues, please?
sa7 - an article of clothing is a ga7 (not in puzzle), rhymes with that. sa8 - add vowel sa8 - pl
wow hurshy!!! congrats!! :D 5 hours? hmmm... 10 hours on the clock...mayyyybeee...: )
Thanks, Hurshy!
babs - 5 hours was a little on the slow side for me, but then, i was v. sleepy for the first 309, between 1 and 2:45 AM
don't you ever sleep, hurshy?
yes ruff :) i slept from 3 to 11:30, then got up and finished babbling :)
i don't USUALLY babble at such ungodly hours, but it's christmas vacation so i thought what the heck?
ah. you have vacation. keeping hours like that would totally mess up my week.
the perks of being a teacher...
46
anyway, babbler, you can't count the time you aren't at the computer - you haven't really been babbling for 10 hours real time, have you?
go atalante!!!
oh heck, I'm not sure I'm as good as you, hurshy.. :/ smaller puzzles have taken me longer! I might be here for the whole 10 hours...
no hurshy, I really have been avoiding it! lol !
well, I'm going to put this on hold for awhile, and head off to the boat parade. good luck, everybody!
bye ruff! so then babs, you may be very good, but you aren't exercising your courage. :)
it's the brain that I'm lacking...
nope, I am absolutely pathetic and am usually here till dawn!! I'm scaaaaaaared ! :' (
with brandyjack's list, i firmly believe it's just a matter of patience and persistence
*cowardly lion type sobs*
I saw the list..... that's what frightened me! *more cowardly lion type sobs* :'(
oh, babbler dear, it's ok. i do keep forgetting that you brits are on a different schedule. it's only midafternoon here.
you'll be alright babs. people will help you. ((((babbler))))
it's 8pm here.... and my dinner is ready to eat. ...... be right back! : )
aaaawww! ((( hurshy ))) :D
:D now go eat. i'll probably be here when you get back anyway
see you later babbler
AS for themes for next week -- what's wrong with Christmas? ... or Hanukkah?
Back for a bit while Kirstianna enjoys her first ever blueberry muffins -- I have no prob with either of those -- that is why I chose to wait until the day after Xmas to request the badgers --- that and that will be the next day I am off during the day to show the baby ;)
an 6/21?
oops -- KRIStianna (Bad Daddy -- misspelling your own daughter's name!!!)
an6 == en6 that starts the 10, swap the vowels
Thank you, GW. be 7/44 (last one), please?
Never mind -- just realized I forgot to pluralize the 6/30
don't know if I have it -- working on the b's myself :) I have the plural of the asylum but that's it
The first be 6/30?
cyber BE a lot of comotion
at 7/36 at5/10 I just can't get either of these..HELP, please!
GW - switch the middle consonants for the rest
Thank you much :)
at 5/10 a plus ti4
there's no at 7/36 there is an as 7/36 as + "___ we meet again" + "to __ or not to __"
be 6/30 consign to perdition
cyber - you all set with the be's now?
btw, girlfriday, LOVE that movie
There's an at 7/36? - brandy's list only has two!
hursy: Thanks for the clues. Never would have gotten the long one, the other, I just misseed. THanks. It's my favorite movie....The best dialogue ever!
done with the be's thanks, hurshy. Looking for the bl 4's following the knife part
c-nan -- it has a Scottish spelling
and for the second bl4 there, just cut the e off the following 5
the B's have gone grey!
girlfriday - my favorite is "bringing up baby"
good job, GW!
Hurshy: It's a tough choice between the two...I think I like HGF only because Bringing Up Baby is so perfect... HGF is a little urban and rough. Also love Philadelphia Story. And On the 20th Century, of course.
got the bl 4's, thanks........ Just realized I still don't have the first be 6/30 -- is that the one that is consigned to perdition? -- thought that was a bl.
Ye Gods! There's a boatload of ca's, aren't there?
yes, be 6/30 is the perdition one :)
girlfriday - philadelphia story (and high society!) great too. the perfection of bringing up baby doesn't bug me - i like idealism.
*takes deep breath.... dives into grid*
Hurshy, I agree BUB is perfect. I think I was a journalist for a long time and that's probably why I love HGF...also the dialogue is so fast in that one...but I do love BUB...okay, tied' for first!!! And what about It happened one night? And Awful Truth....oh, we could go on...then I won't finish the puzzle!
em 7 & 8?
Don't you hate when you are trying a random combo, only to realise it is an anagram of the right word you were looking for in the first place, but you already hit enter so you get that hated 'Oops!' message (wow, talk about poor grammar!)
not a word in my vocab, hurshy -- just don't see it!
um, yeah sure, GW, I hate that...(what the heck's he talking about?)
Just found it! **hanging my head**
harp -- just Babbling! I had just monkeyed a combo when I saw that it would be a word if I transposed two letters, but had already hit enter, so coudn't fix it :)
Yeah GW, but sometimes it turns out that it WAS a word!
em 7/8 - to radiate forth from
true -- but I KNEW this one was wrong ;D
Evening everyone... before I take (yet another) break, can someone help me with the He9 and the Be9? Thanks
cyber - which, the be or "consign" or "perdition" (maybe look those up?) :)
girlfriday - you THINK you were a journalist? don't you know?
be9 is pl of be8 - compound word. the thing you sleep in plus picture fr5.
he9 - recluse
i also love the original "mr. deeds goes to town"
I know, I read that after posting it and realized the "I think" was in the wrong place....clearly my forte wasn't editing...
son of a gun, hurshy! That is there!! I looked for it but didn't see it -- I so have to master the fine art of looking around ALL the corners :D
Bah... proof that I do indeed need a break. Thanks Hurshy :)
referring to the em's there -- log ran away from me ;)
lol girlfriday
340 left to find. No point in worrying.....
I'm back... that was lots of fun!
ti8/40 pls anyone? ty
ti 8/40 female version of prev ti5
sorry for the delay, babs, i stepped away
thx hurshy : )
im back, refreshed from my dinner, and not at all daunted by the fact that I have another 94 to find. <resolve is weakening>
94 - that's nothing! 20 more and you'll hit 400!!! you should be jazzed.
oooooooooh. i must say, i think my goal of half may elude me, i'm getting t-i-r-e-d
Woo! Just broke the 400 mark so thought I'd say hi to everyone :)
Me too : ) Hi everyone : D Hi babe ; ) (((xx)))
good going, Lo! I just started!!
hi Anj, : )
Hi Babbler : )
Hey babe! (((XXX))) :) Hi babbler! :)
*scared to ask*.... how long did it take to get to 400?
coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee, ad infinitum.
dachef - i'd tell you tea instead of coffee since it reduces the risk of ovarian cancer, but i don't think that's a worry for you.
....about 3 and a half hours here... That was down to the As... 53 As... It's wrong, I tell you... WRONG! : /
I thought of you when I saw the A's, Anj!
down to 83 now - started at 4pm (its now 9.10!). Brief pause for food. Why do we put ourselves through this torture?
well, there's nothing on tv tonight, Dachef..... :/
Hi dachef! Long time, no see :) Babs, I've been playing on and off since about 3pm.
The pleasure of each other's company for sure Dachef lol : D
maybe over there babs, but we got the steelers going on over here!
I give in....... *dashes off to a2z....* *cowardly lion sobbing all the way*
...crisis! I'm aout of PB cookies : ' (
need help with he 7/32, please

gnubee, it's a rough, rope like material I think... : /
*evanonut gets sacked behind the line of scrimmage* woot! : D Cheers m'dear...
Having spent the better part of the last 16 hours going blind looking at this screen, and having reached the all but unattainanle score of exactly 300 words for exactly 5,000 points, I QUIT!
*collapses on desk* ... finally finished ...
Thanks, Anj - hmmmm
:o !! lawyer-1 !! noooo!!!
*reaches over and puts glass of champers on lawyer-1's desk*
sherb - congrats - help yourself to a coconut. Lawyer1 - there will be no quitting tonight! Sob.
Aw babe, finished the cookies?? I'm gonna make you some more after xmas :)
congrats Sherb!!! : )
Yes, Babbler, I must prove to my spouse and the rest of the world that I do have a life outside of the Babble realm!
Congrats sherb! (*HUG*)
WoooooHooooo!!! Well done sherb! :D
lawyer-1, you should appeal... ...for help, that is : D
WTG Sherb : ) LOL...you have a Herb ; )
Back after beginning in the small hours of this day. Why? Why, I ask you?
thanks all :) well recognised, Anj! yes, it's Parsley the Lion :)
te 6/ 18 and te 7/ 28 pls anyone? ty
Sherb! Congratulations!
can I get another clue for he 7/32, please?
Because you know you are in good company, mab :)
Babs - sounds like what you have on the tips of your toes ... or like Captain and Te***** ;)
any clue on the em4/6 ... i have monkey typed every combination??
gnubee - it's a rough cloth ... sacks are made out of it :)
Sorry gnube, I shall try again : ) Prisoner of Spandau, Rudolf H4... plus man's name I3..
Hi mab :)
thx sherb
Ouwa, think large flightless bird on E : D
Ouwa - Rod Hull and Em** (with an extra vowel) ;)
no idea who rod hull is...
Ouwa - that's nothing to be ashamed of ...
rod hull - dodgy puppeteering comedian who was really crap at fixing roofs. Sorry, bad taste. ;)
Ouwa, he's left us (RIP) but the bird lives on...
LOL dachef!
Thanks, Anj! That did the trick
isnt that the em4/5....i have that...I need the em4/6
Ouwa - change the last letter for a U :)
totally confused now
if you already have the 4/5, change the last letter for a U and you will get the 4/6 :)
finally....i must be brain dead after typing all these words...sorry for being so thick
help with ca6/21 -- have the garrison
ca6/21...Any of various chiefly tropical or subtropical trees, shrubs, or herbs of the genus Cassia in the pea family, having pinnately compound leaves, usually yellow flowers, and long, flat or cylindrical pods.
o'chita!!!!!
Im at 410, and the computer is taking about 10 seconds to accept every new word I find! At this rate i'll be here all night. Oh, who am I kidding? I think Im just looking for something else to blame....
dachef!!!!!
people are getting sloppy here... :)
got to go and see what else is happening in the world ... good luck everyone, and see you again soon :)
'nite Sherb : )
hurshy, did they use words?? what were they??
nite Sherb : )
That's the prob with big grids, hurshy -- posting in the log without using an answer becomes problematic
night Sherb, and congrats! Completion today is quite an achievement!
please help with HE got the first part but cant find tha mens name, thank you
So long, sherb!
first name of cricketer, Mr Botham
babbler, dachef just used bl5, which you prob already have but o'chita used ca6
Bab- o'chita gave the answer in the clue :)
whoops! Sorry Hurshy! Just realised. Would everyone please replace the last sentence of my last post with this: I think Im just looking for someone el4/4 to bl5/16. Thankyou for your co-operation! ;)
keep 'em coming, Dachef! hurshy - nope, I've started at the bottom of BJ's list and am working up... :)
People have to remember to read the definition to make sure it doesn't include the word itself. Very sloppy sort of definition if you ask me when you have to use a word to define itself. Oh well, I guess it's better than the definition of two being 'not three'.....
oh yeah, i didn't even notice the el4 bit
Babbler - you think thats wise? That means you'll have to do the a's last. I think I would probably scream if I had to do the a's last.
hey, brandyjack! appreciated you more than ever today!
Babbler, that's what I did! I am now working through the A's :/
I always work this way, then I can see the list right next to the grid, saves scrolling up and down. Never just started with the list before..... feel like brainstorming... "If I only had a brain!"
Egad, whatever for.... This is a nightmare......
That's the prob I have with most dictionaries, brandyjack -- self referential definitions that make you chase through the entire book to finally find the meaning you wanted
well brandy it would have been much more of a nightmare without your list!
Me. By Gilderoy Lockhart. Hmmmph.....
Lo, great minds think alike! :)
... 12 ......
last ce6/7 combo pls? having trouble wrapping my brain around the longer words today :\
go atalante!! :D
GW - do you have what sidewalks are made of
yes. peri

ti7 is plural of ti6/18
GW - by a stretch, that ce7 could be pronounced like a certain muppet frog
(plural)
sorry GW, i should have said the 6. the 7 is the plural.
ti8 female version of prev ti5
got it, hursh! and another box goes grey!
babbler thank you ,finally i got it im half blind,

brandyjack, thanks, I did have the ti5 which I turned into ti8 with your clue
D's are done! And all by myself, too! :)

Also need the last cr 6?
oh nooo! maybe I should never have started..... : /
Thanks folks : ) Can I furnish a clue for anyone??
last cr6 pl of last cr5 (cr5 de la cr5)
sa8/45?
congrats Anj! Help yourself to a coconut! :) 30 to go. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it usually turns out to be a man with a torch bringing me more work.
each sa 8/45 adds a letter to the sa7, one is a vowel, one makes it pl
OK, so I don't know my alphabet like I should. I'm finally done with the cr's.... Thanks for the clues.
Cheers Dachef : ) Une, have you got the other sa8/45? If so, one has an S ending, the other an A : )
nope, don't have either one :(
E's down!
*Anj produces Bosch hammer drill, straw, paper umbrella, sparkler and bacardi* Tum te-tum...
une - rhymes with ga7 (not in puzzle) another word for clothes
Still can't get it... guess I'll save it for later...
Une, think of a ga7 word for an item of clothing. Then change the G for an S and go back to the earlier clues : )
thanks, babbler!
Babe, I give up :( Help with the le7's, please?
bagged a 7 and 2 8s--woohoo!
unfortunately, g-string doesn't start with ga......
Have made it to 300, been playing off and on all day. May be back later, but am pretty tired.
Lo, i've only heard of them as a series of sci-fi books by E E 'Doc' Smith - try a google on that : )
C'mon, everyone's heard of Virgil Samms and Kim Kinnison.....
don't forget Worsel!
Wurzel?? Gummidge?
Anj, you give excellent clues... can you help me with the he7/32... no one has come up with a heavy enough brick to hit me on the head with...
technically could be someone who works with the glass part of your eyeglasses, perhaps specializing in grinding them or inserting them properly...
Thanks babe 'mwah!' I'm done :)
Characters from the le6 series by e e 'doc' smith, babbler
*claps for Lola!!* : D
To heck with that old snake, remember Clarissa.....
Like me, brandyjack ;D I work for Le4/4Crafters!
congrats Lola! 17 left........., and fast running out of coconuts.
I've never read any of those books Brandyjack, but i've come across references in Rovbert Heinlein's work...
re 8? Also the very first re 4 and the very last re 4?
Hi all! Any help w/fr 5/16? This is a long and hard one today......
Thats showing the grid who is boss Lola!!!!
Yay! babe ((xx)) *sweeps Lola off into a slow dance* ; )
brandy, the key image from that series that sticks in my head is the image of the final solution in action re: the destruction of Boskone!
Only clear reference I can recall was in Number of the Beast when they popped into Arisian space with the drugs in Hilda's back pocket.....
fr 5/16 like cr 5/12
Brandyjack, that's a bl**dy good memory you have there lol! I was scratching around for the book...
same here, brandyjack -- that was the reason why I tracked it down to read :) Turned out my mother had a copy of the entire series in HER library -- finished it in a week!
Destruction of Boskone? You mean Eddore? It seems in every book they thought they had destroyed Boskone until the four kids actually did it.... I loved that series..... Time to dig it out and re-read it methinks....
at least two babblers names for points today! de 4/7 and ma 4/6
Triplanetary, First Le7/32, Galactic Patrol, Gray Le7/32, 2nd Stage Le7/32 and Children of the Le4/4..... Plus an offshoot Vortex Blaster.....
t/y hurshy.....so many more to go.....
does anyone her think "urass" shouldbe a word????
done...anyone need a clue b4 I go?
definitely, owl
Hi T-Owl : ) LeslieA, don't forget the li5/10 : )
well actually I think the word you are looking for is a little more specific than 'urass'......
brandyjack -- I haven't read them in over 15 years and my mother lost her library a couple of years ago when she had severe money probs and got evicted form her apartment -- Thankfully the Science Fiction Book Club collected them into a single volume omnibus so they are still accessible to todays readers :)
Ouwa... still need he7/32, please!
hi all! deciding whetjer or not to wade in...so much holiday stuff to be done...
re 8?
Hi temple :) Like, 'get urass over here'?
474 words, you ain't wading unless you are a giantess......
ooh, thanks anj
Jera - he 7/32 - take the noise a snake makes, change the vowel. To the end of the word, add a man's name beginning with I - as in I** Fleming
well that's certainly a good use! : )
he7/32...author herman - "e" + John in another language
10 to go..... the countdown has begun...
ty, Haz... my list seems to be out of order somehow... also would have thought that invalid due to being proper... many, many thanks!
*fans dachef with towel and reminds him to breathe*
*crowd surge in the Mumbles* Go Dachef : )
re8...what they do these days to old records
I took pity on you - glad you've got it.
c'mon Dachef!!
From now on give me clues in Parseltongue, okay...
or re8....re + what every man should be called in his home...lol
I'm stuck on the am7/36. any clue would be appreciated.
5..... <starting to sweat>
darleen, am7: am plus vowel plus three letter word that sounds like what santa carries plus a vowel :)
Darleen, starts with the same 3 letters as the previous am7, then the plural letter, then the high/low playing card : )
Go dachef! You can do it!!! :D Babe, you say it so much better than I do :)
whew. thanks anj! got it. Now to go see what it means...
Been monkey typing to no avail!......... last am 4/5?
Cyber, usually comes at the end of a prayer...
cyber, what you say at the end of a prayer.
Great minds babe, lol : )
Woo Hoo! H's are clear and I have only 97 to go -- I can almost, kinda sorta, if I squint REAL hard, maybe convince myself that the end of the tunnel is just ahead :D
I have that -- the second am 4/5, is there not a third one at the very end (following the am7/36)?
lol :D What you up to tomorrow babe?
Chapter 3, and if you ask me, they all did it!
cyber, no...only two of them.
no wonder I coudn't find it!!!
LOL< no, Xmas shopping. Need to get Kaff another pressy as she already has the one I bought for her : /
Now that's my kind of book....
any clues around for the ti8/40and the second ti6/18?
Oops, you're running out of shopping days! :)
Still missing the re 8. Anybody care to try another clue?
T-Owl, a female ti5/10? Or maybe sounds like the opposite of loose... ; )
temple, the ti6 is a plural :)
re8: re + opp. of mistress
Harp, re plus M..... of the Universe : )
aaaaahhhh! Done! <collapses, spreadeagled on flor amongst detritus of mega-babbling: empty coffe cups, over-flowing ashtrays and coconut husks>
*claps for Dachef!!* :D
WTG Dachef : ) A job well done...
WoooHooo! Well done dachef! :)
congrats dachef!!
Excellent, Dachef!!!!!! (*hands fresh cup of double espresso*)
How many words are there? I completed 104. Second week of playing. Thanks.
You guys are making me homesick with all these gorgeous lion icons!
thanx all! All hail the little grey boxes!!!!!!
Kraj, 474 today...bit of a beast : )
You're a star, Dachef!
good job, dachef!
Got the RE 8 thank you!
ugh! Have a way to go! Thank you.
lola - are both ti 6 plurals? I have one plural for ti6...
Whoa, look at the time! Gotta start drinking vile stuff to prepare for tomorrow's colonoscopy....
Any clues for ad 7/36 and 8/50... Please
temple, no. The other is ti plus a word for 'not mad' :)
ad 7 - to have a very strong opinion on something.
kristina - remember antmusic? probably not in US. I was ad***** that I was gonna finish this one!
Oh, and temple, the plural of that will give you the 7 :)
haz what is your icon?
got those, thanks lola ... a few days off and i've forgotten how to play...
*sings* Staaaand, and deliver!
your money or your life!!!
I've forgotten to change it! It was taken in Vienna last February at an open air ice rink. The children were using penguins on skates for balance.
your money or your life! Didnt he have a comeback recently that fell on its ar4/4?
Kristin... "A new royal family A wild nobility We are the family!" Or maybe "Well I'm standin' here, looking at you. What do I see? I'm lookin' straight through. It's so sad when you're young, too be told. But, you're havin' fun so un-plug the jukebox. And do us all a favor. Oooh, that musics lost its taste, so try another flavor"
i thought he'd gone loopy lou after the gun incident in north london?
is there something up with one of the "fa 5 words"? It's saying that i've already used it, but I know I haven't. Is someone else having this prob?
Alien, try hitting the f5 key : )
anj - that was a bit cathartic, no? That was a bit like standing up at a meeting and saying "My name is Anj, and I'm a ad7/36 fan."
what's wrong with that?
Dachef, I had all their singles lol. In my defence, I should point out that I swapped them all for about 100 ft of Scalextric track and 5 cars : D
thanks--it worked!!!
ad7 rocked! Of course, I am way too young to have been there at the time. Someone else told me about them....

Don't quit Babbler. I actually HAVE all the re words. I can help....
Hi Yoink : _ LeslieAnn, if you have the two ma6/21s use the 2nd one and add the initials of the country where you will find Jo'berg, Capetown and Durban
Nooooo babs! Don't give up! The re's get easier as you get more of them :)
Thank you for the AD 7 & 8....

Babbler - repeat after me - I will not throw in the towel. I will not throw in the towel.
Babs, 20 of the re words are re plus another word. Just keep noodling : )
will you help me, pls, Lola? the second re6/21 (actually that little block of 5 words down to make again would be fab!) *wails like the cowardly lion* :'(

babs, put in the post again and the plural :)

lola - last re 5 *** maria?
temple, try my clue for that at 5:20
Heh, no thanks. If I had started earlier maybe, but if I start now I'd have to be up till an obscene hour in the morning to finish it. I'll be able to get to bed at a reasonable time this way
s'alright T-Owl, I knew exactly what that meant! lol
only two, cherry?
temple, a coffee liqueur?

any clue for the re6/21 and re7/36 please
Hi guys, am starting late today, no way am I going to finish. Does anyone have a clue for the as7/36 please?
Thanx Harpjane. Thought I had tried that and it didn't take. Now on to the next............so many to find yet....
gw, think of the smart people club and change the fourth letter
this clue was given earlier, mary... as + *** we meet again + to ** or not to
Have that one, Leslie -- I need the one three after that :)
me + the first three letters of the facial expression when you lift up part of you lip and growl? (best i can do)
Thanx, LeslieAnn, got it.
I am a goof today -- that time I meant 3 words after not the third 5/12 after *smack*
has anyone here goten to the sa words? if so, may i have a clue to the second sa8/40?
sa8/45 change the last letter to a vowel
Temple - both sa8's build off the 7 -- one is plural, the other ends in a vowel
gw, you want me to type the whole word list for you? is that what you're asking? ;)
Nevermind, Leslie -- I'll get it somehow -- I am having trouble communicating today -- Thanks for the effort :)
ty, davetins : )
me 5/12s: (1) me*** to an end, (2) change the last letter of the first, (3) plural of me** and potatoes, (4) the smart people club, change the fourth letter, (5) plural of a city in arizona, (6) me + first three letters of a growly facial expression
help with as 7/ 36, please
gnu, which one the flower or the other?
Leslie -- there is one more 5/12 right after the city plural but before the facial clue --- there are 7 in total :) Thanks for not giving up on me ;)

aknitter, need th as7, have the flower as5
aw crap here it is: me + *** the season

Lesleyann, I'm looking for the me5/12 next to the steak please
dude, all the me 5/12's are in the log. 6:18 and 6:21
Bloody 'Ell!!! That was ridiculous in its frustration level -- finally have the M's clear -- only 57 words left!
ty, aknitter!
gw only 57 left?? i'm only 1/2 the way there
aknitter - I have been wasting my day off doing this grid -- I was on it for 3 hours after the flip and then came back at noon and have been focussing on it while playing with my daughter --- I intend to finish this one even if it kills me!
harpjane, fr5/16 has a double consonant at the end, souns like part of the root used to make root beer
GW did you get a 7th me5/12??
i might kill myself soon, i am now repeating words. if i get that message one more time .... sorry youhave already used that word, i am going to tie myself up with the christmas lights and plug myself in!!
yep!
thank you gnubee
I think we can all relate today, aknitter

Charm -- think of longjohns, or th______ underwear -- drop the t
cybernan, sounds like it might be someone from a old world country, nit pr******, but he*****, has a double letter
davetins - if you had to fix a whicker chair, you would re**** it. and past tense.
LeslieAnne & Cybernan - thanks SO much. I thought I had tried every possible combo but that, of course! lol

Thank you all -- great combo of clues.
i know where i am, i am in puzzle hell!!!
Is it just me, or is it taking a long time to post words and log entries today?
very apt for today!! lol :D
it's not just you . . . it's like sludge!
Hi, back for more torture, erm, I mean, more fun
i'm plugging myself in now --- pulls light off tree and crawls towards outlet
I regret starting.... : / already decided not gonna finish. just seeing what I can get, then calling it a night.
you can't aknitter.... I've got your lights!
i found some that were lost in the back of the closet
LOL!! aknitter, you'll find the plug doesn't work..... heh heh
whatev, aknitter, you know the lights you find in the back of the closet will NEVER work
thanks for making me laugh, aknitter : D xxx
stop torturing me, let me go....
I'm at 195 words! I don't know how that happened! My left arm is tingling. that's not good, is it?
i am one of THOSE people who must finish what they start, this puzzle is killing me
it's not fun anymore..... so I'll only do what's fun and leave it at that. not bothered about finishing anymore. stopped caring way back! : /
does anyone have the cr 6/24 and 5/12 in the middle? between rude and burning the dead
your left arm is tingling because i stuck a pin in my babbler voodoo doll (your punishment for taking my lights)
LOL aknitter!!! crikey..... *hands lights back*
I'm tired of this puzzle too -- but with only 82 words to go, I hate to quit.
crikey??? do people actually use that word?
I do!! :D
haha, aknitter is funny when she's angry
i've only heard steve irwin use it on tv "crikey"
LeslieAnn - before the rude, there are 2 verbs (one past tense) meaning to stretch your neck to get a better look - also a tall white wading bird. After burning the dead, there are 2 words (sing & pl) meaning fake whipped dairy product.
I'm in re-hell... gotta skip to something else... *whimpers piteously... but doesn't stop... that would be well, sa4/4*
You are so close, cybernan! Keep going just a little while longer Your icon, by the way, is so pretty and sweet.
Jera, the re's killed me. that's when I made my decision to not try to finish. : /
and Jera, I started from the bottom of the list! Given up at the Ms... :/
Oops! You've already used that word --- i HATE this phrase
aha! thanks charm. i had put the rude one in the wrong place so was looking forever for words that weren't there :)
I'm hoping skipping them will refresh me adequately to complete the last 64 words...
I'm oblivious to it..... it surprises me when it's NOT there! lol
I've got them all, Jera. Happy to help you, if you'd like?
Jera: these are some clues that anj gave; maybe they'll help... re6/21 - re plus sugarc.... re7/36 - past tense that re6/21 - afterburner or warm up again re7/32 - whack it with the plural fish re5/14 - put the bottom seam in again re6/24 - plural fish!
So, LeslieAnne, are you done?
anyone have the first li 5/10?
Time for me to do the dinner thing now -- I'll be back to finish later :) I've come too far to not finish today!!
LselieAnn, there are no cr 6/24 and 5/12 between rude and burning the dead - you must have skipped a letter. Do you have the bird/lifter of cargo?
nope, 66 left
gnubee, thanks, i got it, it was the bird
1st LI5/10 - "Any of various climbing, woody, usually tropical vines." LI6 is pl. 3rd LI5/10 - change the final vowel. LI6 is pl.
Cybernan, the first li 5/10 sounds like it could be a girl's name, has 3 vowels

Sorry... wandered off into sa-land... don't want to seem ungrateful...

thanks, cybernan!!!
me7/36 - spotty childhood disease (have a vaccine for it). past tense. (ME6 is singular).
charm, thanks so much, found the 2nd ma8.
Oops, already had the me7
Good evening could I get a clue for ma8/45 please

Peri - great hint!
Thanks Unea and Charm and got the ma6/21 that goes with it. Do you have clue for the ma6/21 that is just below it.
LE 7? Either one?
Charm, I can't take credit for the hint, someone else posted it earlier, I think it was brandyjack
a male who works at le 4/4 crafters. and all the men who work there.
ma6/21? Not the slave but the owner.
I have that one the first 3 letters of this one is what a boy becomes when he grows up
Now I'm stuck w/the be's. Any help w/both be 6/30 and 6/27?

be6/30 - be + mild curse (commonly god **** it).
be6/30 - "Hospital of Saint Mary of Bethlehem, an institution in London for the mentally ill."
aknitter- Who's on first? :) Too funny!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't that what you do, GW? Are you a le7?
be6/27 - to promise. be + n4/5 (you have a first and last n4/5).
charm, thanks
i don't know if he's around, but that's where we got the clue the first time :)
Need help with last st6/18, please...?
add an a on the end of the previous word, Jera : )
I've had enough 182, I give up
this is one of the worst, whereami, they're usually not this monstrous. Will you come back again?
A-ha... I see, yes! Thank you! i wasn't twisting enough...
st6/18 - st5/10 meaning harsh (or rear of ship) + vowel (it means pl. of the breastbone).
Nite-nite folks. Getting old. (And the baby is calling....)
sure it was fun will probably pay as soon as I get enouh $ in my pay pal account
nite charm : )
jera -- add a vowel to the st5 before it
thanx charm. I did have the hospital be 6/30, I need the 6/30 after it.
be6 - old, ugly woman.
Nonny - it *sounds* like that poem: La be*** **** sans merci.
fab clue, Charm! :)
Thanks, Babbler. Now I really am off to bed.
oops, nearly forgot about a pesky f... need las fa4/7, please...
Jera - last fa4/7 is what you pay on a train, taxi or bus.
hi Jac : ) have you finished?
Hi Babbler. Finished? Are you kidding? Had a busy day. Still got 52 words to find.
I have that one... isn't there another after it? After nonsense play? How many fa4/7's are there total, perhaps I miscounted...
good going! I have 188 to find..... : /
how's your battle going there babs?
No idea what an icon pic of me as a teenager is doing here either. My partner signed me in this morning - guess it must have been his choice for the day. LOL.
oh funny babs, you answered my question before it posted
fa4/7 x 3
I gave up a while back, hurshy. my left arm's tingling, so I'm just doing what I can..... not putting pressure on myself to finish, just keeping it fun.... (trying to!)
I have admirers & price on bus... what's the third one, please? fa4/7
AN 6/18?
jera - change the s in admirers to a vowel
an6/18 - an plus sa4 (satisfy)
babbler - you're not having a heart attack from this huge puzzle i hope!
Never mind, got it... thanks!
1st fa4/7 - another word for a weathercock. 3rd fa4/7 (after the nonsense play ) - what you pay on public transport. 2nd fa4/7 - Lady Windermere only had one, but some ceilings and dancers have more than one. They cool you down or cover you up. LOL.
lol, no hurshy. just RSI... : /
*girds loins to do battle with final 12... all re's*
oh, poor babs. *rubs babbler's arm*
awww, thanks hurshy : ) xxx Jera, I have all the re's, let me know if you need me : )
Babbler - I came in with 356 words from just doing grid on paper throughout the day as I was busy was Christmas stuff. This is my relaxation time now until the Christmas rush begins again tomorrow with mince pies to make and the last few gingerbread house pieces to do also.
I don't know how you do it, Jac!! *in awe*
Babbler, dear! You must get up and shake your arm a bit! Poor thing!
ty, Babbler, I'll keep ya in mind...
good idea, mab! I'll do it now...
*quaffs an entire glass of diet mountain dew & plunges into battle*
Babbler - re the tingly left arm. Take care of that! If you have low b/p and you've been eating garlic that can sometimes be the cause. Garlic lowers b/p, you see.
I didn't know that about garlic, Jac! That's probably it!
It wasn't tingling before dinner..... makes sense...
garlic lowers the BP and keeps vampires away!
can't find the be 9
i thought low blood pressure was good
Aknitter - LOL. True.
you sleep on it.... well, you put a mattress on it then plural
my shoulders are tight too, so that could be it too, couldn't it? maybe I should put some music on and have a little boogie??? : )
well that was easy (with the clue) LOL
Hypotension?? Keeps the blood from the...from the... blood from the... large pink thing, think with it... bear with me here...
Hurshy - low b/p can be good but not always. Both me and my Dad had it. I still have it. Dad, no longer with us, of course doesn't. It's better than a high b/p but still not always a good thing. Ours was/is naturally low though.
that's you , that is!!!! hello! :D
crikey, if we're doing pics of ourselves, I'm going back in time!!! LOL!! :D
LOL! Hello : ) Scary pic, scary pic...
not at all, Anj!! *waves* :D
It's Anj! Look at that cute chin! I don't have a single picture of myself on the computer if we're doing ourselves!
oh we're crikey-ing again
I'll do a google search and pick out a stranger who looks like me, that's what I'll do!
yup, aknitter, crikey crumbs and all sorts! ; )
my icon would be cindy crawford, she is my look alike, both face and body!!!!! ROFLOL
I'd no idea there was a pic of me on my profile today until I posted on the log not long ago. As I said, my other half signed me in - he must have chosen it for the day.
Hmm, well i'm not exactly a Bruce Campbell in the chin dept lol : )
refresh for a perfect eyebrow!! LOL!
Could someone post the re6 list? I'm missing one... (my last!!)
Jac, you should always check your icons. You need to know if you're well-dressed lol : D
...awww look at da cute liddle Babbler : )
Anj - I've told him that if he ever puts a 'rude' pic up, he's dead! LOL.
Anj's clues: re6/21 - re plus sugarc.... re7/36 - past tense that re6/21 - afterburner or warm up again re7/32 - whack it with the plural fish re5/14 - put the bottom seam in again re6/24 - plural fish!
shouldn't you folks on the other side of the atlantic be in bed? isn't it the middle of the night?
*giggles* :D
it's 2.21 am........ early for an insomniac! lol
not that i am wishing you gone...
Jac, I'm a worshipper at the altar of F5 to check on my icon at all times : D Mind you, in the quaint English way, if Paul did do that we would, of course, all cough politely and change the subject ; ) LOL!
do you know whereabouts in your list your re6 is, Jera?
any clues for "ra 6/24 and 7/36?"
Alien, competition (running, Champs etc) plus, well, you ( as in I) then plural : )
It is so good of Brits to cough politely and change the subject, I've always thought.
Yea, Anj., of course you would! *Rolls eyes.* Not got all me re's yet and not sure about the re+fish clues. Have re8/45 missing. Also the following re6/21 & 7/32, and the re6/18 & 7/28 below that.
Here's what i have... what re6 am I missing? Trying desperately to narrow things down so i can coherently ask for help, LOL re6/21x7 re6/24x2 re6 /18x4
re + ma6/21 (opp of mistress)
thanks!
polite cough -- don't inderstand the alien clue for the ra

I feel weird with a pic of me in the public domain.... :/

Jera, I don't think you are - missing an re6 that is... : /
woo hoo 267 words, i didn't think i knew that many!
Babbler - Thanks for the re8/45.
Well, i know its a 6 that starts with an r... lemme check the others...
How many ra6's are there??
Jera there are three ra6s ra6/24 and 2 x ra6/21
re6/21 and the 32 - think of quantities of paper, then add er
Hey Babbler it's Eva. The tingling is extending down my left shoulderblade to my leg. We both know better than this. Are you remembering to get up and move around frequently? STRETCH????I'm at 359 words and am going to allow myself another 10 minutes and then shut down. You need sleep or you'll regret it. Sorry for sounding maternal-I'm really talking to myself, but at least it's only 9:36pm here. Did you get my email?
Jera, the opposite of mistress. re your ma6.
I have a 24 & 2 21's... am I missing one there?
That would be an 8, mab... I'm missing a 6.
Then what the heck am I missing?? *sobs piteously into keyboard*
Hi Eva!! I was just thinking of checking my mail.. I'll do it in a sec. Thanks for the mothering - I need to be told sometimes. I've got the tingling going up into my jaw, but that's it. I've been remembering to get up every hour, move around, and I was just planning a little boogie..... :D
Think of a man and his dog. The man is said to be the dog's ma6.
Jera, that's all the 6's you've listed. Try pressing f5 to refresh - you may have one hiding...
I thought of that, Anj... I would have loved to feel that silly... alas, not...
I've refreshed a zillion times and still can't see the perfect Babbler eyebrow. My cache must be full; can't imagine how to empty it.
Babbler I haven't been following my own good advice. Every hour is not enough....every 10 minutes or so is more like it. Luckily my cat has been having problems tonight which I won't describe for all concerned, far too gross, but they have necessitated my getting up periodically to do checks of his nether quarters. Otherwise I'd be in worse shape!

Ooh......these @%!! re's! re 6 & 7, following 'created again'?
you're right, every hour isn't enough... :/ I just forget!
be quick mab..... seriously not liking my pic out there! lol!
436 words found here. I think I'm getting too tired to go on.
Jera, that's the lot for r6 : ) Could it be an r4, r5, r7, r8 or r9??
Well, I guess I'll be happy with 474... it's not like I get a point bonus for finishing...
Goodnight all! 114 words to go but then nothing in life is ever "finished" is it? My body is demanding that I do something else - like stretch out, sleep, relax, etc. See you tomorrow.
re6/18 and 28 - shopping!
er, 474 is the total for today, or am I in the wrong reality again?? : /
'Bye Eva. Rest well.
According to the stats chart, it's an r6... the lower r like that makes a difference...
take it easy, Eva!! Just got your mail, will reply tomorrow! :D
Sorry, I meant 473... staring at stats grid too long...
I do hope it's not a 1000-word grid tomorrow for the 1000th Babble! We're all too busy with Christmas preparations to even contemplete doing it, unless we get a few days on that one grid!
And a good evening to everyone once again --- time to find the last 56 before I have to do a midnight run to the grocery store for baking supplies :)
These are the Rs: re 4/ 5 re 6/ 21 re 7/ 32 re 5/ 12 re 6/ 21 re 7/ 36 re 6/ 21 re 7/ 32 re 5/ 14 re 6/ 24 re 6/ 24 re 6/ 21 re 7/ 32 re 5/ 12 re 6/ 21 re 8/ 45 re 6/ 21 re 7/ 32 re 5/ 12 re 4/ 5 re 6/ 18 re 7/ 28 re 6/ 21 re 4/ 4 re 5/ 10 re 6/ 18 re 7/ 28 re 6/ 18 re 6/ 18 re 7/ 28 re 5/ 10 re 4/ 4
Hello, Wolfie. Last time I noticed you posting, the baby was in meltdown!:-(
omg, I totally forgot! tomorrow is the 1000th babble?
Hi GW : ) 1000th Babble?? Happy Babbleday toooo yoooooo : )
Hi GW -- still baking? -- me too!
Maybe a 1000 word grid with a week to solve it?
She's 2 Jac, so if she doesn't have a meltdown at least twice a day I worry :D C-nan -- yep -- we can't afford to get gifts for people so Kirsten is making Banana bread and Cranberry bread to give out :)
GW... I'm in Babble hell... or at least limbo... missing an r6 according to stats chart... but no one can tell me what I'm missing!! *sobs on GW's shoulder*
Wolfie - what have you run out of? I've been getting through mountains of plain flour, bicarb, eggs, mixed spice, golden syrup, dark brown sugar and icing sugar today! However, if it's in my cupboard and I don't need it first thing tomorrow, I'll e-mail it to you! LOL.
re 6/21 and 7/32 following created again?
awwww jera!!! ((( hugs ))) c'mon honey, we'll help.
(*pats Jera's shoulder consolingly*) Well, I haven't gotten to the R's yet -- but soon---- I am on the N's right now
Ah! Now bananas and cranberries I do have! No strong plain flour though. Got dried yeast though.
Cyber, means to send a letter again (and plural) : D
Jear, isn't on the list of REs I posted???
*wipes tears & smiles bravely* Not that 473 is anything to be upset about...
I have all 32 re's, Anj...
Feel free to change, Babbler. My computer has some user-friendly name for 'cache' that I've not figured out yet. Silly MSN.
Soldier on Jera! You are soooo close!
it will be in Options somewhere, Mab. or go to your help menu and search for cache, it will tell you there....
ra 4/ 5 ra 8/ 50 ra 9/ 66 ra 6/ 24 ra 7/ 36 ra 4/ 4 ra 6/ 21 ra 7/ 32 ra 5/ 12 ra 6/ 21 ra 4/ 5 ra 4/ 4 ra 5/ 10 How about RAs?
Jac -- I'm good on everything except the bananas and cranberries -- thanks for the offer :)
Sorry I can't help, Jera. I don't have all the re's myself yet! Still looking for: be8/60 be7/44 last be4/6 3rd he4/6 and the 5/14, 6/24, 6/24,9/66, 5/14 and 7/32 after it. Also, la5/10, 6/18 and 6/18 and the 2nd la4./4 after that. 2nd li5/10 and 6/18. Quite a few ma's & ra's & re's.:-((((
That's it, Anj!!!
be7/44 - plural
Jera, which one???
Whoo-hoo!! *happy dance of doneness!!*
be4/6 - church ringy things, but drop an L
WELL DONE, Jera.
It was an ra6/21 {{{ANJ}}}
*claps for Jera!!* well done, honeybunch! :D
be8/60 -- something you ring - L + da5/14
lol Jera : ) WTG Jac, for the other be7/44, take the last E out of the be8 : )
was it ra + friend? I was thinking of that one
Hurrah, Jera!!! You did it!!!!
Yes, well, Brit friend... that was it...
YAY for Jera!!!!!!
should have gone with my instincts, shouldn't I?? I'll do better next time : )
got the be 7/44 pl. that sounds like ringing water stopping constructions. It's the 8.60 and 7/44 after that I don't have.
bedfram
Jac - the 8/60 I just gave is a plural of the preceding 7/44 the 7/44 is the same plural minus the last e
OOps! Wrong place. Sorry. Not a word anyway. LOL.
I'd love to help but I'd probably just muck it up... can't think of better clues than you've been getting...
Jac, i'm puzzled - have you got them in the right order?? This is that bit of the list, starting with the madhouse: be 6/ 30 be 7/ 44 be 6/ 30 be 7/ 44 be 8/ 60 be 7/ 44
*runs and tackles anj with a sunday-night-side-kick*
*sneaks behind robust linebacker for cover* Hi EvaN : D
Anj - it's the last 2 on your list I am missing, as far as I know. Got the madhouse and its plural, then the ringing water stoppers, What's next before a couple of Michael Jackson's pet rats?
how was your weekend hon??
think La Be*** **** Sans Merci (alt spelling)
Babbler, sorry I had got the pet rats and the ringing things (your clue) in wrong order. But I'm still missing the two I said.
Jac, have you got the ringing water stopper with the E on the end??
the last two - one has an additional E, the other is a plural
Not bad EvaN thanx. Just getting over it now lol. How about you??
Got'em now, Thanks!
mine is also just ending! yesterday was my brothers bday, so tonight the whole family went out to dinner + back to my house for cake + ice cream. so i spent all day yesterday cleaning until the BF and i had to drive an hour + a half to his friends housewarming/christmas party!
Sounds like a busy one : ) How's the weather over there??
actually, quite nice this weekend! i only had my coat -- no scarf or gloves all weekend... and the BF didnt even wear a coat today!
Sounds balmy : ) -5 here last night...allegedly. I was toastie warm in bed of course *looks innocent of any alcohol-related high jinks* : *
Unfair, evana. We are skating on frozen meltage immediately upon stepping out the door. And it's so cold in my house that I'm more bundled up than ever I was to go outside. O, my lost DC home....
missing the ra6/24, 7/36 and the 7/32
GW, us, as in the human r.... plus *sings* you, m..., them, everybody, everybody* Then plural...
ra6/24 - chase me!!! (that's a clue!) (and then plural)
i much prefer the warm, but i would love a white christmas!
ra6/32 = challenge to see who's fater, you or me?
Ha! caught you. OK, what do I do now dad??
ra7/32 - ra + blokes + how I say thank you
GW, ra7 - opposite of ewe, plus large talkie tree from LOTR plus the 1st letter : )
LOL... faster, I mean... the 7 is the plural
Got em all, thanks -- I guess taking a break from the screen has recharged me a bit :)
See why I don't give clues? I muck 'em up...
sorry -- supper was ready, so had to leave. still looking for the re 6/21 following created again -- My apologies if someone has given a clue -- couldn't find it.
