I was asked to work Tuesday instead of today, so I don't have to go to work. It's only at home that all is in uproar. After the babble is done, I will go do the shopping. Hi Mr President, Just come on-line and was hunting for previous clues when I saw your e-mails about Oz....I visited earlier this year and just had to say the penguins at Philip Island are so cute. One of the most amazing moments of my life sitting on the beach watching them come up to their nests. I'd love to go back and do it again someday.

ha...done the picnic at hanging rock..but never saw the penguins at phillip island..despite growing up in melbourne..must check it out for next year
hanging rock!! I haven't done that... Three Sisters picnic at the Blue Mountains was the best I've done... and you have to visit again!!
Sydney is lovely too....I can see why some of my friends moved there. They were convinced I was going to emigrate once I visited and it was pretty tempting. I'll definitely be making a return trip as I only saw one small corner of Oz and there's so much more still to see. I'm from lush green Scotland (although currently living in dreary grey London) but Oz has to be the most visually stunning place I've seen - the landscape is so colourful!

Wow Rolin, which part of London are you in??? I live in Hackney - there are some nice parks but it's not a patch on home. Luckily I do work on the edge of Epping Forest and I see plenty of wildlife which is a bonus!
I have lumps of opal found in the bush near Kangeroo Vallet NSW. Would love to visit Coober Pedy where the best come from and where they have the cave houses.

oh, faerie, i'm so sorry to hear that . . . my mom, who was always soooo fun and high-energy and ready for any and all adventures, is now pretty docile and child-like in many ways. I'm so glad my daughter (now 27) knew her before . . . but we both miss "the old Mimi" profoundly.
Bunny - I'm not a good shopper so this year was very hard for me but I will do better next year. I actually ordered a couple of things online yesterday for next Christmas.
Une-Mom still knows us at this point for the most part (there are 9 of us kids) but she is very child like also and very demanding. But we help each other and Everyone takes turns staying with Mom. She only weighs 92 lbs now.
I think when the kids all get older (many,many years from now), it'd be fun to make a trip of it, I have so many girls and they already love to shop til they drop, or at least til I do.

Haz, everyone LOVES the caramels. They are incredible. The problem is, it takes a couple of hours, a lot of it stirring a pot on the stove. Then it takes a couple of hours to cut and wrap them. I''m the only one who'll take the time.
Well, some things are worth investing the time for. Those caramels sound like they're worth it!

Bugzy, they didn't have a strong stable of cars over here, but they had an untouchable warranty and after-sales service which meant they didn't need to. Could be a canny buy providing GM build on the customer service : )

Hopefully it'll help them - the "global" market is where they're looking to bolster the bottom line. Over here GM just needs to build cars people want to buy... Their design is a good 5-10 years behind the times... and their prices are high for what you get too. Hope they turn it around....
demographics here are toyota and lexus have the market in autos / suvs followed by gm trucks / suvs, then ford trucks, then chrysler (dodge ram charger trucks)

My best car was a 67 Firebird ragtop. I blew up the stock straight six, and we dropped in a stock 396. When I blew that up, I couldn't afford to fix it. I miss that car.

Ren -- unless there was more than one -- that's him -- he was active back in the 50's and yeah, a hot wheels --- people have told him that he should sue for money, but he is satisfied by being honoured in such a fadshion :)
ren - We lived in a farm house on a state route about a mile from an Ohio Highway Patrol station. We would go past the cop shop and race back, down the divided highway.

I had to sell it for a song. I was poor and broke at the time. Last I heard, the guy was just letting it rust away in his yard. Pity.
The 289 was an awesome mill (my Dad helped build 'em) My Bro had a 64 or 65 Mustang with a 289. Sweet ride.

San Diego, the opposite end of the coast. I have stopped worrying about my stats. I occasionally finish one, but not much anymore since I can't Babble at work. I am more interested in the chat and hanging out with the people I like. This game can be played however you want.
