Don't think my eyesight's that bad but the cast of Dallas could easily be our royal family....Icons are too small
Not that the rest of the English speaking world considers them nasty.....
Whoa Brandyjack
I'm getting confused...but then it don't take much!
The words, not the actors (so-called).....

Brandyjack...you're harsh with everyone...who'd you actually like? Apart from us Babblers,of course.... ttfn
Ayyyy poor thing...bet that hurts...See you later..
Cya x
Had no use for strident garbage that came in with the 80s. David Cassidy is I think 70's. One or two of his pieces were good, the rest were just variations on a theme. I liked the Beach Boys, Abba, and disco in general.
You a bit of a John Travolta Jack?
Couldn't dance if my life depended on it.....
I don't know any music from the '80s. At all. Anyway, Meryl Streep is my icon from Sophie's Choice, 1985, I think.
And way too smart to ride a bulll......
Yep.....Abba were good. My brother loved them. Ok I forgive you....Lol...ooops toast burning...
I used to luv gettin on the dance floor.....still do
I do looooove to dance.
I need cuppa...brb
Two breakfasting babies....so funny...one woke up saying ' How depressing ' and the other with a huge smile (always)....so different!
Hiya mab....Meryl Streep is FaBuLoUs....so so moving that film...my Mum won't watch it...she's an ostrich!!
So true -- not a lot of laughs. I picked it in part because I resemble meryl streep. What is your icon, tbear?
SwElling from Dallas...but my icon's the whole bunch...probably will change my mind by tomorrow...
and apart from enjoying a drink ot two,I don't resemble her at all....my ex-step father said i was like Bette Midler....now there's a thought.....
I found a picture from Out of Africa, the part when Robert Redford washes Meryl's hair. Very....
That was another good film of hers...and his!! I really enjoyed Bridges of Madison County, the book first then the film did the book justice....
I somehow missed the whole Dallas saga. Have no idea where I was. I even have an odd nose, as Meryl does; she's actually not that pretty. rather plain.
What's wrong with yoyo?
pics of ourselves was yesterday, Debs
I' m looking forward to seeing what they do with brokeback mountain of Annie Proulx,I read it some time ago and found it quite intriging...she's so clever.
Trademarked noun.
Hiya Nan... I always seem to get it wrong.. story of my life!
No mab.....she's got a beautiful face, character and very evokotive (that spelling looks dodgy)
I didn't realize Proulx wrote brokeback. I looking forward to the film.
Trademarked noun??
Like me, her features are not out outstanding in any particular way, although she has great bones. It is easy to make up a face like that. I'm very fair and a bit bland. too bad I can't act.
I thought we didnt use yo-yo because it is hyphenated.
Refresh and check out my icon mab....Bette looking stunning
Bette Midler? She does look stunning.
Right I'm off to shout for 10 mins to get my girls out of the door in time for school. All the clocks in the house are set 5 minutes fast and they still periodically missed the school bus........here goes...block your ears everyone.....see you later.
GIRLS>>>>COME ON NOW>>>>>NOW>>>>>RIGHT NOW>>>>>AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGRRRRR RRRRR
Time I was going too.... Cya all later..Take care :)
Have a great day Debs.
Love you Mum..........S L A M........
And you Mabs.... Cya Bear have a nice quiet day....
I've got to go too; need sleep.
Thx Debs....hope yr girls ok....
I think I'm the only childless woman (of a certain age) in babbleonia. I think one doesn't completely grow up if one doesn't have children.
Me too, mab :) Hi all!
I don't have kids Mab. Just a bad cat.
Well that makes me less lonely. Most people have children. I'm sometimes surprised it's so popular.
cats and dogs are better, any day! (according to me at least :)
I do love the animals. I like children immensely, usually, on an individual basis, but as a crowd, or when being made to wait for mum to finish shopping, they are less than enchanting.
Having said that, I must add that I love my friends' children completely.
I don't have kids either Mab
hi have about ten mins to play but then dad will take over because it's school today and he dosen't do messages much so hi!
Hi Sam, Hope you have a good 1st day back at school.
Can't stay awake for the last 12 -- see you tomorrow. :)
se ya cyber!
Night 'nan. We the unchilded. Only movie stars have children at my age, and so I shall remain. I only regret it for moments at a time, so that's all right then. Ok. Sleep.
Hi and bye Sam!
after so many puzzles, i still can't believe oreo isn't a word.
eek! i have an echo...
NowA You are not alone.... I am quietly working the grid...
If you like to work in silence this is the puzzle time to do it. Most Babblers drift away..............
It's really not the silence that I like.... I like to chat.... just not much happening right now....
Hi All - I'm lurking in silence..............
hey dianne.... I think we are all a little silent tonite...
I love to read the chat!!!! It is like one big family sharing such interesting things.
well then we must all be eating... that's the only time my family is quiet..... LOL
MORNING ALL hOW MANY WORDS TODAY PLEASE..
Wish I was eating - I'm getting hungry doing the food shopping list.

I'm an early riser, but it's good to Babble before I have to go to work.
I'm on my initial round up of words before settling in to the list.

Bee bee that's really funny we just said almost the same thing....altho I was only winding up bobsta... No that'll be a rather stunning piccy of Bette Midler in anticipation of tomorrow 80s icon day...I'm much more gorgeous....infact I'll go get me so this'll be fresh tomorrow
See you later Bobsta....
tbear- it's a good picture- i love bette midler, but i don't remember her ever looking so lovely ;)

Hello all
Hi yoink hows it going? you don't happen to have the re7/36 do you? pretty please with fingers crossed?
Hi FMitch, not going bad here thanks, you? Sorry, I don't have that but I can have a look
trying to break the babble habit and do work stuff but it's not working too well so far exp as I only have 34 words left to find.
right back again, 38 down, 120 to go!
re/7, try googling 'a type of soil consisting of unconsolidated material from freshly deposited alluvium or sand' :)
thanks Chessy, appreciated.
thanks chessy ;o)
sheeesh I would never have found that by myself!
does anyone have the ph6/30 by any chance, can't find the little demon anywhere ...
Chessy try goolgling 'The quantum of electromagnetic energy, regarded as a discrete particle having zero mass, no electric charge, and an indefinitely long lifetime'
.. and as soon as I ask, I find. Isn't that always the way :)
take the 6/24 and change the 3rd letter for a high value consonant
sorry ignore that, wrong one
Chessy ph6/30 It means 'the smallest unit of plant structure'
thanx all :)
Has anyone got a hint for the 8 I don't have? I have the one that means publicist
yoink its an extension of the 7/36 which is the act of, the 8 is the person that does it
you would be happy if this happened to you at work
Thanks FMitch, but that's the one I have
Yoink mo8/45 hunters caps
sorry yoink mis read yr post. I am actually looking for the other one too.
Yoink mo8/45 hunters caps plural of mo7/32

M3, more introverted

Hi everyone! Just looked down and noticed we now have a room full of beautiful babblers. I thought Yoink and I were the only ones here. Faerie Dust for Everyone * ^_^ *
I wouldn't necessarily say I am here faeriekae. Physically maybe, mentally definitely not. ;)
hello everyone, hint for the al5x1 please.
Jen-I'm never here mentally.....I've got so much sh** going on in my life this is my only release. I love you people because you don't judge me and I Thank each and everyone of you for that
periwinkle .al5. think of Bill Clintons vice president!
I just got laid-off from my job of 14yrs because my "Boss" and I are dating. He is the VP of the company and no one has enough bal** to tell me if I am terminated or anything other than go sign up for unemplyment....Found out New's Eve day
jaydee, thanks so much, always seem to miss that one
you are welcome.!
Oooh, sorry faeriekae! I hope everything works out for you!
Oh it will all work out I just seems like the end of the world right now. Thank You Sweetie
wow faerie...sorry to hear! Maybe there will be a silver lining as other things open up for you. Amazing how employers can pull stuff with no legitimacy and no sense of regard for human rights and dedication!
Bab1 - exactly - maybe this is for the best - I am a firm beliver that everything happens for a reason so I'm just praying this has a really good out come
Gotta scoot for a while and do some household chores. BBL. Take care faeriekae! :)
Jen - Thanks - later
good morning everyone! :o)
Efor-Good morning to you *here-have some faerie dust it will make your day* sprinkles dust all over Efor *~* and now the grid will look so much better
Good morning everyone. Been lurking at going through th elog for a while. A beautiful snowy morning here. Ooops, just realized that I left the stove burnign full out so have to run, but was wondering if anyone coulg give another clue for the mo7 & 8 combo- have no idea what the hunter's caps are. Be back in a minute.
confounded by all the go words today...monkey typing, words I know, and a2z only finding about half of them...anyone else stumped?
Oh yes - stomped
Actually I just got started about 1/2 hr ago
thanks faeriekae! i hope it helps me today!
mo 7 and 8 built from the 5 letter word above it..remember the movie the Full Mo*** ...this may end in a different letter...ends in a vowel. mo5 + word for fish eggs minus the final vowel
go 4/6 - Clintons vice pres and al 5/14 Clintons VP
Thanks babs!
a couple of go words I can identify that I'm missing are go 6/24 and the go 4/7
Yeah - Thanks Babs1 I needed that one. More Faerie Dust for you.....
babs1: go4/7 an exclamaition!
Thanks, Faerie....*swirling in the dust to take in all the magic*
go**! I can't believe I missed that one *hanging head in shame, tsk, tsk!*
By go** Bobsta is correct. Thank You Bobsta
thats ok babs, it took me ages to find the mo thats in the sky at night!!!!!
no probs faerie
thanks, bobsta *standing up straighter now--attitude revitalizing* lol gr 6/30? anyone? hesitating to ask, lest it be another go**! or mo** type word...
gr6 pl of gr5, you draw these to make statistics easier to understand.
thanks, bobsta! cool word...i love it when they are all in a circle...AND ususally miss them..*practicing circle patterns in the air*
one to go...oa5/10...and not the kilns...cant even monkey type it
i always miss the ones in a circle. i should know by now but no, i keep missing them!!! PAH.....;o)
say...looking to change cell phones and carriers...anyone have any experience with a Blackberry?
got it...was looking at the wrong oa...thanks anyway...DONEEEEEEE...anyone need a clue?
ouwachita: take your oa4/4, leave off the last letter and put on a vowel and constanant!
Great ouw! I need about 88 clues, but think I'll have breakfast instead ...this grid is troubling today (por mois)
WTG ouwachita :)
babs...clue for your 88 words....they are all in the grid...lol
ouw - congrats.....I need more than 88 bit I too must go get a bowl of cereal. BBL
pr6/21 clue anyone? Been looking for an hour!
pr6/21...first part...means "for"...second part is a drink
pr 6/21 any tropical African shrub of the genus Protea having alternate rigid leaves and dense colorful flower heads resembling cones ends in something to sit down and sip on
babs1!!! you put a word on the log!!! Hee hee :D
okay, ouw...taking you up on your offer...how about the go 5/14 that has a 6/24 following...
add a g to the or4/4
YIKES!!! ohmygo**! *Screams in horror!* Can I be forgiven by the babblers or do I need to go bow down to Dr. God and beg forgiveness!!?? Apologies!
babs - do not understand mo7/8 clue - were yo ugiving a clue for another word or just those two? Help please?
hey hi bobsta! hi peri! hi jaydee!
Got that one, thanks. It's the one that follows pr7/32 and comes before pr5/16 that I can't get :(
hi babs! hi ouwa!
mo7 is a hunter's cap with side flaps....mo8 is its plural
Afternoon campers!!!
hi temple
hi bubby x
just those two temple...*shyly peeking out from behind the babblers' curtain of shame* beginning is something you climb without one of the vowels followed by a vowel and the fish eggs minus the vowel you just used... ohmygo**! what a convuluted clue!
hi bubs! hi babs! - thanks for the clue - got it!
It's a really hard word to think of a clue for. You did very well, Babs1.
hi temple, hi babe
hi bubbles, like your dog...he friendly?
i'm a little lost trying to follow the posts - was that convoluted clue for pr6?
No, Hurshy, it was for the mo7/32 and 8/45. Anyone got that second pr6/21?
someone else break the news to hurshy about my transgression..
oh, i see it babs :)
Yeah, stroke him
so, hydra, you're missing not electron but....
i'm a bit caught on the fish eggs bit?
bubbles..OK, if you say so...looks like he's poised to take my hand off for giving away words, though! Is he your dog for real?
can everyone tell bob off for accusing me of nicking his words
miametro, fish eggs are roe
ah, of course. i've got a cold, i blame that for my slowness, ha.
no babs his not, i'd love to have one though, my real dog is quite a bit smaller than that one
Love you forever, hurshy, that was my last word. Fireworks, please! Anyone need any clues? I started this grid at ten this morning and, with a couple of breaks, I've only just finished. And my New Year resolution was to put work before Babble!
glad to help, hydra. :)
So, hydra...we CAN cheer and then we'll be enabling your continued habit, I suppose...lol ;)
maybe instead of congrats we should say, tsk tsk, you naughty hydra, so that we would help in the keeping of the resolution
It's the curse of working from home. You think you can make up time later in the day, but you never do. And talking of time, it's about time I joined properly and got an icon...
so what do you do hydra?
Work for literary consultancies writing appraisals of people's books. I also write myself, including a horoscope column. Used to be a pop music journo and edit a romantic fiction mag. Then got made redundant, boo-hoo.
How about you, miametro?
crikey, writing :) how exciting. i work in a hospital 9-5 (on holiday this week tho) and knit in my spare time. www.wearescarves.co.uk
interesting hydra...how did you get into that line of work...sounds like fun!
Writing doesn't make me any better at Babble. I must take a look at your website. My mum was a great knitter. She died in 96 at the age of 87 and I still wear a sweater and scarf set she made.
knitting is a really relaxing pasttime. you should take it up :)
love your cherry twist, miametro!
Babs1, degree in English, job in advertising (after some awful jobs in stores etc and being a hippy and playing guitar in clubs). Then lied my way onto a local paper and then pop music mags. I was very lucky.
Wouldn't have the patience, miametro! I admire you.
cool stuff miametro...I go through waves of making scarves...haven't taken it up this year...perhaps because weather has been so warm...we had about a week of winter so far...been in the 80's here lately...(farenheit that is)
cool, hydra..kudos for your courage! So interesting to see the kind of paths that lead to interesting places!
thanks very much Uneaixoise :) it's remarkably simple to make actually, but looks complicated hehe. speaking of which, this grid is totally beating me today!
anyone have a clue for the pr6/21 that comes straight after the pr7/32 please?
Bobsta, see clue posted at 9.10am
err no!!! x
any clues for the pr 7/32 or the pr 8?
the most complicated things i ever knit were doll baby blankets when i was little (my grandmother showed me how) and one scarf when i was in Switzerland one summer! rectangles aren't too hard--hah! :-)
Hi guys! : ) Bobsta, same first four letters as the 7 and opp of off : )
I agree about this grid mia...can't even get the silly re 4/6! since I gave away the store on the pr word before, I will leave it to someone else to provide "a clue"!
Hello!
hey lola, thanks hurshy thought i'd put that one in already, thas why i couln't work it out (twit) ;)
shortened form of regular babs.
*fish slapping here* was looking for a 4/4 instead of a 4/6...duh!
oops, looking for the pr 7/36 not 32.
mia, think getting a better position at work, possibly with a pay increase : )
how about the pr 5/16?
cheers lola :) was driving me nuts!
babs, sounds like a word for 'before'. Or a nosey person : )
thanks, lola...amazing how you look and look and miss what's glaring at you!
*sneak, sneak, sneak...pounces on lola to give her a HUG* Hi!!!
LOL! Hi EB! ((x)) : )
it's been ages...how are you?
It has, hasn't it?! I'm great thanks, and you?
good thanks...trying to avoid work by Babbling...but I must hunker down & actually do work!!
Has Myavi fan been chatting lately? Haven't seen her.
EB, I'm babbling guilt free this afternoon..... I took the tree and decs down first! : D
harp - I haven't seen Miya for weeks...I was on vacation w/o a computer & I've only been back on Babble since Tues...
harp, I haven't seen her but I think her friend gem said she was away.
lola - lucky girl! we didn't do much for decorations since we were travelling - so very little to take down at home!
Where did you go EB?
visiting with family in Minnesota...we were hoping for lots of snow for skiing...there was a little so we improvised with lots of sledding, ice hockey & walks in the woods!
Sounds great EB! I recently went ice-skating for the first time and loved it. I've always wanted to try skiing and sledding : )
I've been ice skating for years...it was a little harder on the 'pond' since the surface wasn't as smooth as a rink...we resorted to boots after awhile because there were big rough patches where we all kept falling!
LOL! I had a hard enough time on a nice, smooth indoor rink! Still, I didn't fall over *beams with child-like pride* : )
lola - you should be proud...it's never easy your first time out...I only fell once - that was enough for me...I have pins in my hips from surgery a long time ago & I was sore after that!! : )
Ow! I think it was the sheer thought of how hard the ice was that kept me up-right, lol! : D
my bro-in-law is 6' 4" and stated - "the little kids are fine falling - they don't have that far to go, but someone my size - it's like falling off a mountain onto concrete...it's just not natural!"...we were cracking up!
LOL! He does have a point! : D Right *clears throat in business-like fashion* EB, you should be working (!) ; ) and I need clues for the re7 and the st6/39..... somebody, please??
Hi Lola, the re7 is "a type of soil consisting of unconsolidated material from freshly deposited alluvium or sand"
((((((((Siiiiiiiissssssss))))) ))))) Happy New Year!!!!!xxxxx
Hi yoink! I went scrolling through the log for clues and found none! The log has been very quiet today : /
lola - I did 15 min. of work...can I babble again?? : D hi lotti!!

Hi GW, Happy New Year :)
EB, the only people there that I knew were Anj and tbear, but it was great fun : ) Hi GW! : )
Everyone is doing well, lotti :) Holidays were quiet and recuperative -- something I truly needed --- especially since the biggest present of all isn't due to arrive until Feb 3rd! ;)

Woo! Go bobsta!....now how about some help with the st6/39. I am very slow today and caitlyn's clue is not working for me : /
Gramma just took Mamma and Baby to Mamma's maintenance checkup so I figured I would take the opportunity to check in with you all before I have to go to work :)

GW, I have a few cases of lola's special babble champers set aside ; )

LOL!
((((lotti)))) HNY!
...whoa! Hang on...can someone explain to me whu GOTH isn't a word? Black, crimson, purple, kohl and Cradle of Filth don't exist for any other reason! : /
Temple, it seems like ages ago already!! Time flies eh?!
LOL Anj......do you think it needs ic on the end!!!! :)
lol...that's architecture : D
...mind you, given the plethora of whalebone corsetry in that genre I wouldn't be surprised to see a flying buttress or gargoyle somewhere along the line... : )
yes - it does, lotti! - gotta go - phone just rang - someone who doesn't undersand the word no, unfortunately...*sigh*...wil stealth when i can : )
Bye, Temple -- Time for me to go as well :( Be back later! (*Hugs to all*)
any clues for the re 7? this puzzle is an absolute monster!
bobsta - congrat if you're still here...
See ya Temple!!!! Sounds like my kids, they don`t seem to know what the word no means either!!! LOL Anj........A gargoyle with black nail polish!!!!!
Good Morning everyone. I was wondering last night why goth isn't a word ---- I think we should let all the kids who go around looking like Morticia know!
late T-Owl, GW : ) Mia, sorry, haven't got that far yet. Do you know the word score for that one??
Have 11 words left Miametro -- that's one of them!
See ya GW (((xx))) Hiya Cyber :)
re 7/36?
re 7/36 :)
Hi lotti
re7 - a type of soil consisting of unconsolidated material from freshly deposited alluvium or sand
Use 1st 3 letters of re4, then add the last 4 letters of aer**** a can you spray!!
ooo good clue. Nailed it : )
ah, cheers guys :) that's all the 7's down now :)
thanks, Lotti
You`re welcome :)
afternoon all!
Clue for the st5/12 please?
Hi EvaN : )
Nevermind, got it. st5/12 means to hide away
sami home sick today... no sicker than yesterday, but thanks to taking daytime meds at bedtime, i got no sleep last night. *yawn*
st5 - To hide or store away in a secret place.
Hi Eva :)
Aww get well soon dear ((x)) Seasonal cold?
yeah, just wont go away -- been battling since just before christmas...
pr 6/21?
cyber, knock the N off your pr7/32
EvaN, i've found the only way to beat that is to stop for 48 hours and live on lemsip or beechams.
Anj -- I have that one, it's the pr 6/21 following the 7/32 that I'm looking for.
cyber, goes with neutron in an atom. Also make of car : )
i shared my cold with the BF. because, as he says, sharing is caring!
Anj, What's the 7/32 yuo're talking about?
Thank you -- don't know how I missed that one!
Neeny, think of a pr7 word that dieticians are always putting with carbohydrates and change the i for an A
Hello!
Hi Harp : ) whoa! Is it just me or did the Babbleserver just have a wobbly?
Thanks Anj - got it
Hi Harp :) Major wobbly at my end Anj....had to log out etc!!!!
y/w Neeny : ) Cheers Lotti - I had to quit it too... : / Must be a lunchtime surge...
Does anyone have a clue for the 1st so4/4 and the very last so4/6 please?
Lotti, have you got so4/4 like a bird?
Last so 4/6 might be a type of bean/milk?
babble burping again for anyone else?
...severely : (
Tried to say thanks to you both but it wouldn`t let me.... :( Anyway, now I can so Thankyou Anj and Haz :)
y/w Lotti : )
Ditto!
The Babble wizard behind the curtain needs a quick tune-up. While it's being fixed, you probably won't be able to add any words. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes, however. So hang tight, folks...
Cheers Dr G : )
OK Thanks Dr God.......Or should I say Thank God we know what the problem is now!!! :)
Good time for some nosebag methinks. BBL folks : )
Later Anj :)
b-byes anj!
Well, back again to get my last few words. 73 is only a few right?
Ok, the site is FUBAR, .. goin' to work.... hopefully have time tonight to do the grid if it is working again by then.
are we fixed?
Seems like it Bunny
What-ho everyone!!!! I'm back!!!! Now, then, does anyone wanna help me with the other 8? I already have the pr8....
Hi Movieman, it's an mo8/45, plural of an mo7/32 which is a hunter's cap with side flaps
Danke Schon, yoink....
Eva, been playing that sodku, LOVE IT. Thanks!
thanks for the pr clue, anj -- tried earlier but was frozen out along with everyone else.
sa 5/14?
just found it!
rh5 & 6?
both start with rhy
I had figured that, Sandy
Finally monkey typed my way to the solution!
I can't get rh6. Heh.
It ends in a heavy weight....
lol ok then both rh have t as nex letter and similar to ph/6
Got it. Thanks.
Thanks, everyone.
I need one more to get my lovely row of red checks: st 6/39? (know it must start with the eye sore)
Cybernan, it ends with tyrannosaurus --- except with a different vowel
add the last part of the dinosaur T-***, change the vowel
thank you, thank you, Yoink -- great clue! Yay!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, too, bunny -- just saw yoink's clue first.
Would anyone like a clue before I leave?
officially dislike the letter x, especially when next to a y
But used in a couple today, bunny
that's why
Could I get a clue for the two pr7's?
When you do well at wprk, you are given a pr*******.
hockeyguy: 1 of the pr7 is what stores do during christmas, the pr7 the hell out of all their products, even though its mostly crap!
pr 7/36: to "push" an idea or product pr 7/32: think of the nutrient found in meat and change the last vowel
Thanks guys.
14 words left... mostly T's.
24 words*
9...
Unless anyone wants another clue, I will be on my way.
Re7?
re7: re + leave + first part of a liquid compound
re + what you do when the light is green + another word for sun
Thank you very much!
Good clue, bunnyvicious
I'm off until the flip. Thanks for helping me to finish. Cheers!
ty, I'm thru as well if anyone needs a clue...
Has anyone got a clue for the ty4 i`m missing please?? I have ty4/6 - the rubber rim of a wheel ty4/6 - a beginner in learning something ty5/14 the plural for the above
lotti -- one who ty 3/5's
reverse the two ending letters of your first ty for the second ty
Thanks you two :)
any clues on the yo's? they're driving me nuts! ty!
yo 4/9 the letter used especially in Middle English chiefly to represent voiced and voiceless velar and palatal fricatives
yo 4/6 time past and especially long past , old english
Thats me done folks...... :o) See you all later, I must make dinner. Bye :)
the yo 4/9, think of the old cartoon bear that likes to eat picnics and change the last letter
bye lott :)
got 'em! thx bunny!
no prob...
You guys have a good day, see ya tomorrow!
bye bunny! thanks for the help!
omg! efor - i LOVE the icon
Hi all. I scrolled and scrolled and scrolled but couldn't find a clue for the Mo-7 or the Mo-8. Any help? ** fetchingly batting eyelashes **
M7: A hunter's cap with side flaps
Thanks, but the hunter's flap cap clue gets me no where. Clues for Dummies version of clue is in order here.
look in dictonary under caps thats were i found it
mo5 + word for fish eggs minus the final vowel
Judi - the mo7 is also a Mitsubishi SUV model, if that helps...
thanks evanout! i LOVE get fuzzy! :)
Yes! The Mitsubishi clue worked. And I don't even speak Japanese!
That's the only way I ever heard of that word, too Judi. We always called those hats with the flaps "Elmer Fudd hats" LOL
That word is entirely too fashionable to be applied to that dorky hat. I think Ralphie wore won in "A Christmas Story".
Now I'm missing the 3rd Mo-5/16. I have the one that means "to change (like a caterpillar), and the one that means "may; might". Clue for the 3rd?
I agree... it sounds like a Mexican shawl or something.... and yeah, it was either Ralphie or Randy or that kid who gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole. Love that movie :)
The 3rd mo5/16 is the mo4 before it plus the sometimes vowel on the end.
got the scratch a day calendar sitting righ in front of me efor
Oops. I just realized through more scrolling that today's icon theme was 80's stars.
i had to give up the calendar... i own all the strips in the books. i saw a hardbound edition of "groovitude" i'd love to have. right now, i'm really into my "bad cat" calendar... it's like 365 different bucky katts! :)
OK, only 2 more to go and monkeytyping is failing me... hy5 and hy4, anyone??
that's ok judi, i didn't even realize there was a theme! :)
efor1124 Where did you get the Bad Cat calendar? Please : )
h4: A traditional round dance of Romania and Israel. Sounds kinda like a measurement of time.
There's a theme today? Missed that one :)
Oops. That was ho4. Hy4 sounds like not width but height.
Thanks gwenski! Coulda sworn I tried that!! That's me done... clues anyone?
i picked mine up in august or september @ borders or barnes & noble... not sure what their calendar selection is like now, but there is a book, too. soooo cute! i'm thinking of entering my cat for the next one. :) you can go to www.mycathatesyou.com & see some of the pics.
efor1124 Thanks! I'll try to get one for my daughter. My grand kitty is Carmine. He rules the house. I know you find that hard to believe!!!!!!!!
np! i really like some of their hobbies. one of the hobbies a kitten has in the book is "prison tattooing" lol
Down to the last word. Need a clue for the St6-39. ??
st6 - where a pig lives + dinosaur T-***, but change the vowel (part of a clue from earlier)
efor - That site is hilarious (and I'm not even a cat person)!! I bought my sister the 'Bad Dog' book for Xmas- I was laughing so hard in the bookstore, people were giving me weird stares LOL
sorry for the disappear efor, i had to pull wire. i tried to start the year off without scratch a day, but couldn't do it. groovitude, the title says it all.
i love the bad dog book, too. i got it for my friend for her birthday, but she got it for christmas, so i'm just going to keep it for myself! :)
hello sha
Yikes! Never good when you're babbling at work and the VP walks in your office !!!
can anyone give me a clue for the last go its a 4/7 please
ruthy - you'll say "go _ _, I can't believe I missed it!" (that's what I said!!)
thanks easternblue
judi - if u r still here, did you get the st6?
Have to run... Happy Babbling everyone :)
bye bugzy!
hi all - any clues for the mo 7/32 and 8/45? thanks
good clue from earlier for the mo7... mitsubishi SUV model & it's plural for the 8
Great clue, EB, thanks!
thanks for that
momomomomomomomomo they're driving me crazy!
not so crazy that I'm going to take a hatchet & kill people... come back Babblers!! I won't hurt you - I promise!! 8 )
hi all...easternblue i am with you there the mo's are driving me mad too
Cath - I have them conquered ifn' ya need a clue or 2!! I was starting to get a complex thinking I'd frightened everyone away!! LOL!
thanks eb.i am still having probs with the mo7/32..the Mitsubishi clue means nothing to me
just solved them...
Are there any words that start with X? I can't find any...(I'm not a Babble Pro person, so I don't have all of the info)
Cath - here's a convoluted one from earlier, but that's how I got it... MO 7 - take the first part of "Go Tell It on the Mo-----" drop the 2nd vowel in that part then... add thE most commonly usEd vowEl then... add "fish eggs" (minus the vowel you added in the middle) For the 8 - make it plural!
realityfan - nope! no words start w/ x...
Any words have X in them? I already have st6/39 and th6/36 I'm so confused in that corner!
no realityfan...if you go to babblers anonymous (under friends of babble) under general you will find a letter posting and the total number of words
thanks eb..got it just as you posted it
realityfan, there is an x in mo4/10 also.
realityfan - you can also go to the Babbler's Anonymous site (look on the right under "Friends of Babble")...click on Babbler's Anon. --> General --> Stats that will give you the 2nd letter list (and other info that'll help)
Cath - your fingers were faster than mine typing!! : )
Hi All - hope all is well with you - late start - husband asked me to type & print the church reading list, seems simple but he has weird and wonderful ways of making it up & it always takes an age to interpret!
hi snowy - there are a few doozies in here!
Hi EB - looks that way to me too! could be a long night!
hi snowy..sounds a bit like john and his entries in the telephone book (Like Mick - under F for fishing )
You got it Cath! LOL Suprising how complicated his train of thought gets when he has a pen in his hand!
snowy -a bit like his crossword answers
*sheepishly looks up* I think that sounds logical - you should see my filing system for some things...
mastered the m's at last..time for a cup of tea i think
Sort of Cath - but he makes those answers up to fit the gaps as you know!
Woo Hoo! Finished! I do have to leave in about 5 min...anyone need clues before I go??
Congrats EB!!!!!!!!! i'll struggle on for a while thankyou for the offer tho'. See you tomorrow if you're not back later!
congrats EB! clues, yeah, all of them! :)
Congrats EB! Could you give me a clue for the ye?
about 70 of them EB!!!...thanks for yout help earlier and congrats
NM, found it!
can anyone please give me a clue for the ph6/30 - its my last - thanks
the ph/6/30 is very like the ph/6/24, but with one vowel replaced.
ph 6/30 The smallest unit of plant structure. (close to your ph 6/24 - change the 3rd letter)
running - sorry I missed your req. I'm trying to finish up some work stuff before hubby comes to get me!
No worries, EB. It figures I'd noodle it as soon as I posted asking for a clue... that always happens! :p
hubby's calling... good luck all - see you later! (tomorrow or the next day!)
havn't finished but calling it a day (or night i should say) Snowy - will ring you or maybe even see you tomorrow Goodnight all
Night CATH take care - sweet dreams - speak to you tomorrowxx

hi tbear - how are you ?
Pooped Snowy...had to go vacumn and microwave shopping and hate shopping....How r u ?
tbear, have you decided what 80's movie icon you are going with?
much the same lol! Christmas caught up with me along with the aftermath of 3 nights of littlies! Cooked up a storm yesterday so lazier day today.
greetings all. a still somewhat tired hurshy is seeking a clue for ae 4/6.
a stupefied hurshy has found ae 4/6, nevermind.
hi hurshy - think 'bright and ae** - wrong spelling!!
yep... it's Bette Midler.....and are you sticking with Ryan or Kevin? Haha
Mmmmmm....fillet steak sandwich white bread and Dijon mustard.......mmmmmmmm fooooood
tbear - sounds great!
Snowy the only bad thing about it is that it's finished.... it was truly scrumptious...and I feel I deserved it,today
Hello All! I've been busy working on this puzzle and am down to my final one. Can't find the ph 6/30? Any help with it???
hi nonny same as 6 above it except 1st vowel - change it for a consonant
Thanx SnowyOwl. I'm done and out of here unless anyone needs a clue/hint with one or two or.....
Congrats Nonny!!!!!!!!!!!!
Snowy...what's the value of the ph above the one asked for by Nonny, which I haven't got either?
Cath - For the mo7 & 8's, think of of an Austin car or the old reggae hit 'Mo***** Bay (ends in a round vowel)'. For the grid words, change the last consonant.
Sorry Snowy...I'm so tired i forgot to say please.....please
tbear its a 6/24 - just add a consonant to the 5
Hi jacula - tricky one today!
Thx Snowy I'm working on them
Hi everyone. I've just come in to do my last 5 words. Got 2 of 'em already. You're right, Snowy, it is a tricky grid. Some of the words (with the exception of the obvious one across the top line) are well wound in!
wheres doxy gone - i keep missing her!
haven't seen her today granadan but I had a late start
maybe that grandbaby made an appearance....
My farting lap warmer has gone down with back trouble. Shes now paralysed and on crate rest. Babble just isnt the same without her farting and snoring. Cross fingers for her. *crosses fingers, toes and legs*
oh Granadan - that is so sad!
hi again eveyone off work and ready to Babble...
She is only 10. such a character. no bowel or bladder control, but still howling if I touch the fridge door - she is obsessed with tomatoes. Pain meds are working, so as long as she is happy.....
Hi Angelsong this is a tricky grid!
yes, snowy, it is tricky indeed
Awww Granadan...that's very sad. Poor mite
It's awful when pets are sick isn't it? We lost 4 much loved cats in 10 months a few years ago - haven't been able to face having another yet but I am missing a cat now and may have another if can persuade my husband. We have had 5 grandchildren since 2000 so we have been rather busy, but while I was ironing a few weeks ago I felt my oldest cat against my legs and actually opened the door to let her out! Bit creepy for a while!
I lost my puss in november to a "vet accident"... never getting over it! She was my most precious pet in my whole life, and the kids miss her so
granadan: RIght before Xmas had to put down my beautiful doberman for bone cancer...very tough...hubby came home from work with a 12 week old shepherd the other day so back to puppy land. My Rottie can't figure it out!!
Aw... Ive got a real soft spot for dobes.... In talks with a hungarian breeder about importing one for working trials. Sorry about the dobe and the cats. Horrid - they dont live long enough. I keep cheerful by saying only the good die young - and while I worship this dog, she is an utter swine....
Snowy Ive also experience similar feelings after losing beloved cats....I found it quite reassuring....get yourself another,I can recommend it,Ollie is his own cat and altho he will never replace,Arlene,Garfield or Mono...he is completely adored...
Someone help....I've monkey puzzled the al5 to no avail....pls....think I'm too tired to play 2day
tbear al+ 2/3 of the go4/6
tbear: don't have it just tried myself could not find it
Thx snowy!!
tbear think of Pres Clinton's Vice drop the last vowel.
I meant vice President.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!
lol shalee - that could have been an interesting word!
Snowy and shalee thankyou both and shalee 'vice'....funny

Hi Anj - how goes it? Don't like this fiddly grid! I'm beginning to wonder if my 1st language is really english! lol
peri, the gr6 are what makes Wall St go around. If the trend is up, the analysts are diving in pools. If it's down, they're diving out the nearest window... The go6 are, like, personal ethics - swap the M for a G : )
peri both are plurals - if you dont have the 5s I'll have a go1 go6 g+ spoken exams gr6 maths you do on checked paper
I'm not here...just checking icon for the moro....gone

80's actors... wanna bees, try hards - for example, Kevin Costner!! LOL
The theme is '80s movies which should give you a chance for some broad interpretation. 60% of the tv series back then started as feature length pilots... lol
kristink, see snowyowls clues to me ata 6:48
yw peri! Its back to the drawing board then!
I meant kristin
Oh I was slow then! I've got an 80s film so I'll just use that!
can anyone help on the ho5/16?
shalee, sounds like someone who has some Blowfish ; )
ho*** and the blowfish
ho5/16 add the ish suffix to ho4/4
you are so rite anj...i was looking at the list of movies last nite and drew the same conclusion...of course i was to sleepy to think about it any further until now - thanks for the brain jolt!!! du ja ve
thank you snowyowl and Uneaixoise I can't believe I missed that one!
Shalee whenyou look at the list of words its a wonder we've found more than 20!
yw
snowy owl, this one is killing me. I didn't know most of these words existed. my fingers hurt from monkey typing!
Hi all looks like my ISP is stable for a while so I can chat a bit. Been a real pain for the last week or so, cutting me off every few minutes. It made completing the puzzle a pain in the wazoo Plus my husband is building that window seat/storage area. Whenever he works on ANYTHING, he starts yelling and swearing at ME so I need a break from his abuse! :(
Ren, that's done it... I'm now thinking of an '80s detective series where the 'hero' drove some way out red sports car protoype... Can't think of the name for the life of me : /
Come to Babble and feel the L.O.V.E. MissyMe : )
Thanx Anj...its times like these I keep wondering why I don't divorce him...he can be so damned abusive! I'm really upset at him
know the feeling - was just down to 7 words and the last 2 I've found are such obvious easy little words I'm amazed I missed them! They were well hidden in the mire of twisty ones! The fish of obviousness if swimming here freely tonight!
HOW IS YOYO NOT A VALID WORD? (sorry to yell but very distressed)
missing an mo6 have mo6/27 which is plural of the mo5/16. need help with other mo6 please
tv shows w/ way out cars: thinking.... magnum drove a ferrari camero that talked?...? miami vice - vet
there is no hyphen square on the board today :)
This puzzle was surely a bit of a challenge because of all the strange ways of spelling common words
Missy, sounds like you need to withhold his hot apple pie rights pending a review lol ; )
missy!!!! is that max singing barry white!!!
I had fun trying to incorporate the "x" into everything. :)
oh sure, be like that
Ren, it could have been Crazy Like a Fox, but im not convinced... : /
hot apple pie rights!!! haha ha ha haha ha!!!
peri, more mo4/5
lol mrp!!!
Anj lol
Good Point Mr P : ) I vote we ask Dr G to use ! * # and $ in there for those stressful moments : D
knight rider - was the talking camero!
une, thanks, found it
sorry for the delayed thanks on the go5/6 word - had a customer - the nerve in the middle of my babble game!
Missyme does the guilt trip work? Smile sadly & mist up a bit! Other than that a good scream works as well! My husband is doped up to the eyeballs because of high bl;ood pressure - he was already the most laid back person in UK! It's infuriating - he now has the reaction time of a snail!
you should be able to buy a symbol _ $2.50 a piece... that would make babble alot of money!!
mo6 the "er" suffix has been our friend in this puzzle
...careful Snowy. Snails can be deadly if you get between them and a bit of lettuce : /
OK OK OK, you are all talking a little too fondly of this puzzle now. I may just have to start it....
Could I have a clue for the so 5/10 and the 4/4 before it?
I asked our chemist if she could give him something to speed him up a bit - or something to slow me down!
snowy :) Whats that medication called. My husband could use a truckload of that stuff. The guilt trip and tears don't work. I used to just take it but he knows I'll start chewing him out now if he goes to far. It's just best to walk away and let him make of a mess of whatever he's building. Weekend warriors----GAUD!
so5/10 refers to that big yellow thing in the sky . . .
Snowy: I prescribe in-line skates : ) Harp - it's the sun. Then take the R off the end for the 4/4
Well, THOSE clues oughta help! Finally, a simple word and I don't see it! Thanks.
so 5/10 sounds like the snake called a *** constrictor...it is the plural of the one above
I like that solution Missy - We should all relish the opportunity to feel superior when they make mistakes! I sound like a real man hater now! lol I love em really!!!
snowy - take xanex and it won't matter!!! 8)
sorry Jane...I gave you the wrong clue :(
lol snowy He has his good points and his bad, but don't we all. Afterall, he's put up with ME for all these years too. :)
what? did someone say xanex?
Ren is that by prescription only?
lol anj - was it planet hollywood where the waiters used roller blades? I could maybe get a job there!
Oh, ren those evil benzodiazapines! You practically need a court's permission to get them here in puritanland. Hi everybody!
Hi mab :)
hey ren- is that a desperately seeking susan icon
I use a lot of Bachs Flower Rescue Remedy now - its that or take up hard drugs and I'm getting on a bit now!
missy yes it's an rx....sorry...8(...
Hi Mab : ) Lol, if you could see some of the offers I get spammed with it would freak you out...
beebee youare so good!!! yes - it's roberta!!!
Darn Ren, I'd really like something to calm my nerves when I get like this..my heart and all...

so this is when a bird flies through the air
missy - i had a really bad court case i was preparing for...and i couldn't relax....didn't sleep for over 6 days... so my doc allows me 1 every 3 days... 8)
Kristin, for the to think foot digit plus A : )
kristen- so, you wear it on your foot
ok beebee you shoudl be susan!!!
You should talk to your doctor about xanax or one of the other benzos, Missy. With your health situation it may be beneficial to have something on hand for emergencies.
to4/4 Like those things at the end of your foot but change the last letter from an "s" to a vowel
kristin so4/4 its what birds who fly high do to is t and 3 vowels or a foot digit + a vowel
missy - doc gave it to my husband as well,,, because i'm so hyper i stress him out!!!! 8)
mab I will then. I really thing I need something. thanx
missy, ativan is alright- it'll do - but not as yummy as xanex

last two and just can't find them. can i have a clue for sa 5 14 and ge 4 6 please...
peri, THE high school dance plus an extra hoop ; )
ren - you and I have the same problem then - the most hyper woman in Wales is Married to the most laid back! It makes for some very funny situations!
pr5 This is a "demonstrater" of an up and coming movie...as an example
thanks for the clues but I already found the pr5 I was looking for
ok feeling stupid to have missed the 'so' word, and the 'to' is a common babble word - ok the to4/6 i'm missing is the middle one and a so4/4, not the boo-boo one
sa 5 14 this is a greek creature...Pan is one of these
clarify that one of the middle so4/4 words
alreight snowy!!! you know what i mean!!! 8) he gave me a sign that said speed queen (it was from someone's commerical dryer...zoom,zoom,zoom!!!
...Utensil!?
soel- ge the movie "ge* shorty" + a vowel on the end
ge 4 6 like the phrase, "I'm gonna ge* you!" plus a vowel at the end
Christmas shopping was fun - I was talking to him in Debenhams and he was still in Marks & Spencer LOL! I spend more time going back places to look for him that I've threatened him with a wrist strap!!!
...and on that synaptic short circuit, it's time for me to snuggle up with a good book and relearn some normal words. Night All - catch you tomorrow : )

Night Anj - sweet dreams, enjoy the book - we we aren't getting at you honest!!
Anj lol! good night :)

Whoa. I'm on the dreaded M's I've been reading about. May I have a clue for any of the words in the series- mo 4/5, 5/16, 6/27? Thank you!
mo4/5 - not less but mo** with a different vowel on the end -
clue for the st6x2 please
mo 5/16, 6/27 When you take a photo in photoshop and "twist" it around to make the face look strange you mo*** it 6/27 is plural
The mo 5 and 6 have to do with special effects where one image appears to changer into another, sing and pl.
mo5 and 6 - think movies where someone/thing mo*** into something else -
Good evening...I would appreciate a hint on the rh5 please
first st6 is another word for cigar
st6x2 just like st5/18 only with an "e" stuck near the end. Both mean like a very diehard personality
kristin, just found that one, need help with 2nd st6 please
Thank you. Whoa, I think I'll take a break and finish the dreaded M's after dinner! Five words to go.
lwg50 hello :) rh5 this sounds like the opposite of "left" but spelled with the "y" and add a vowel at the end of the word
other st6 - 1st part - st* (sore in the eye) plus the dinosaur T-*** with an 'a' instead of 'e'
Jane cya later :)
thanks, sometimes I monkey type till it makes no sense. But now I see it! Thanks again
thanks so much kristin, found the 2nd st6
st6/39 the sore you get in your eye + a word that sounds like racks but spelled with only one consonant to replace the "cks" :)
lwg50 yw :)
Well, I'm off to make dinner. Cya in a bit :)
help with th4 and th6 please
and with th5x2
th 6 ends the same as the st6 add an 'o' in between
th 6 is another word for chest, and it uses the unusual letter in the grid. You have a lumbar spine, a cervical spine and a th***cic spine. Only add a shorter ending with the weird letter
Any clues for mo7/32? Please
the 5 that follows that - same first 4 letters plus a const.

And thanks! (((((******EB******)))))
I got it this way... 1) type of SUV (not sure of the brand) OR 2) Go tell it on the mo.... (take the first few letters...drop the U) then + commonly usEd vowEl + fish eggs - the vowEl you usEd!
Got it!
Well now I understand why I couldn't get back on last nite!!!!! And I threw away my 2 letter list... oh well.
Hi Mama -- EB just duped the list for me so you are in a bit o fluck (*HUG*) -- feeling any better?
of luck, not o fluck (oops!)
*Tackles Mamabear in a big HUG**** Hello & Happy New Year!
Hi GW - I still need 53 words. so it's not worth the effort .... am feeling better - still coughing, and fatigued, but better. Thanks for asking.
*Gently picks Mamabear up* Sorry Mama...wouldn't have tackled ya if I knew you were under the weather! *pours hot toddy for Mama*
Hi EB!!!!! *hugs back* - Happy New Year to you too! Is today movies of the 80's day? I put up MY dirty dancing icon a couple days ago not realizing it was too early.... that's why my icon is now eating the "icon-of-confusion codfish"
Mama - it is today...you can switch later if you want (I can change into something else!)
Mama -- I still have 79 to go but I figure I try for only 50 left and count it as good :)
hit me if you need clues!
LOL EB! That's ok - nice to be so warmly welcomed! The tackle bruises will heal!!! LOL
Since there's only a half hour to go. I think I'll save my energy for the new grid. And don't change on my account, EB - my icon wasn't the same. I'll go get it. brb
OK -- I have the mo7 & pr7 (thanks again), and I found the sh7 all by myself! -- which ones am I missing?
pr 7 + "r" mo 7 + s
clue on the sh, GW? please oh and REFRESH when you have a min, EB and anyone else who cares
No no no, I meant missing 7's -- I got the 8's --- silly!
there are 2 pr 7's...(the 7/8 combo) the other sounds like what meat is also (or tofu...a good source of pr....) but diff. ending.
when you fire a gun you sh5 it, and you are a sh7
Cool! one 7 to go!
maybe I should get the fish back... thanks GW
re 7 - starts with 3 letters of your re 4/6 + vOwel + "like the sun" (first 3 letters)
Mama -- you can try but I think sprite cooked it to prevent us doing any further damage to ourselves :D
ooo...Mama - I like that pix!
thanks EB -- got it in one!
: )
missing one of the 1st oa5/10's -- have the plural
think of the East or West co____ (drop the "C")
or...one who is a wheat/grain person...
Well, I made it to only 70 to find, but the super baby (she is wearing a cape right now) wants me to walk with her -- see you in a bit :D
bye woulfie!
will see you in the 'next' grid!
still more time for clues if ya need 'em!
I made it down to needing 38.... without my list!
mama - any I can help with??
thanks EB, but I don't know what I need - I know I didn't get to the r's and s's last nite, so I'm just trying to play with them. I'm down to about 35.... not a big deal!
sending r & s brainwaves to you!
are there any 6's in the r's s's or t's? my stats show I am missing 2...
