Unea - Got it, thanks!! :o) Top and bottom row done
anyone have these ri 7/32s yet?
ei 5/12 - the distinctive expression of the cognitive or intellectual character of a culture or a social group.
LA - I don't have them yet :o(
Leslie - I am still working on the pe7 :)
2nd r 7 a term applied to those instruments which only swell the mass or tutti of an orchestra, but are not obbligato. 1st r 7 drop the loop off the end and and the 3rd vowel

YW

hi everyone! uneaixoise SNAP!
what in the heck is the pt 6/21?
it has an amino acid in it....
pt 6/21: a third heterocyclic ring containing an ether
pt is a medical term..check medical dict. on line
I have it but it's so mad I don't know how to describe it!
no worries, i got it. thanks, guys.
does anyone have the dr8 please???
sam - if you have dr5/18, then just add a 3 letter word that means something you fasten things with ...
soory don't have the dr5/18 *sigh*

sam think snow dr*** or on the beach dr*** wood
time to take a break and find some socks!
May I have a clue for the 1st pe6/24 please? Then I can go to sleep :)

I can stay for five more mins if any one wants a hint :)
congrats gw! and since you offered... how about this pi 7/44?
I'll have a clue for preety much any seven cause I have none!
he7 -- builds on he6 if I like girls then I am a he6 sexual male
GreyWoulf, I'm almost done myself and was checking in hoping someone might have the pi7.
sam - the 8 means you have on glasses...i have on my computer glasses... so it's a smile w/ glasses 8)
oh!
a big thanks GW
pi7 -- tricky to hint -- lets see... 1st part -- mispelling of a person who loves to set fires + 2nd part -- the last 3 letters of a word with Q meaning one of a kind
refresh -- I'm back with my socks on!
got it! thanks gw. never think to use the qu in the middle of a word...
Great clue, thanks GW 8)
GreyWoulf, that was *perfect*. Now I'm done too! Thank you and pleasant dreams!
Leslie - I only got it by doing the math ;)

G'nite GW - sleep well *hugs*
got that one right away! thanks hugs.
Night again :) ...zzzzzzzzzz
can somebody help me with the pi7 please???
clue for the ro 5/16 please?
pe7: plural of pe 6 (punctuation mark)
gw gave a good clue at 2:09, sam
pi 6 = pi + ro 5/16 (like a ro*** elephant or a guy who is wild)
huzzah! i am done, and... drumroll, please... no help from a2z!
I don't get the bit about the person who likes to make the fire or the bit about the qu meaning on of a kind!
way to go leslie!!!! 8)
Wowzers Leslie! That is quite an accomplishment!
go you I only have 122 words to go!
I still need a clue for ro5/16
ro + "what" in spanish, or ro + the stick in pool, change c to q (sam, if you add pi to the front of this one, you have the pi7)
moncrunchr, it's the middle part of the word for a game played with hoops, a ball and mallets....
ro 5/16: There's a blue cheese called ro***fort
ti 6/27?
cybernan, Cockney rhyming slang for hat ...
it's a weird one, nan... you know the saying ti* *** tat? change the o to an e (and drop the tat)
see ya all!
see ya sam 8)
Thanks, leslie
Good night, sam
i'm turning in as well... g'night, folks

any clues for the pi7/44 please, im stuck.
a techie qustion..i want to change my icon..and i seem to be having uploading a pic off my pc...any tips?
hello, Babbleland!
any clues for the pt7? I've tried every combination I can think of
the only helo i can give you is go to http://www.a2zwordfinder.c om/
oggy, good clue from renfield @ 2.17am angel, pt + sound of hesitation + opposite of 'out'
I checked a2z, but their suggestions won't work on this grid
i cant seem to change my icon..it wont seem to upload from me pc
got it, Trish, thanks!
rolin, is it a pic you've used before? The only thing I can think of is that it might not be the right kind of file... if it's not a .file that you recognise, change it to a .jpg.... otherwise I can't think of anything except size, and I think the Babbleverse resizes icons automatically :/
actually, rolin, try refreshing once you've uploaded...
trishtrash, thanks it was a good clue, got it now and i have finished. thanks again
congrats, oggy :)
ha..th x trishtrash...refreshing did the trick
wonder if my new icon will work...

hi everyone!
hello??? very quiet today!
ahhh lunch time see ya!... i guess.
Good morning everyone. Freezing here! Very envious of those of you who are talking about going swimming. Does anyone have a list of the 7's? I'm missing 2. Have the 3 so's, 1 pi', 1pe, 2 ri's. What am I missing?
Oh, I guess I'm missing a pt7 for one. I googled themedical definition, but it doesn't work in this puzzle. Anyother hints?
hi everyone
Eva, look at 4.55 clue from Trish, I got it from that
Eva, the pt is a 6 ... there's an ho7/36
Afternoon all......

hi tbear!
Hi speedfreak....looking for your ho7,now
youths who go around with their heads covered
yes but struggling and not making any progress what so ever.
speedfreak.....certain items of clothing that many schools have banned
stuck on the dr8?
got the ho7! isuhtt dr5/12 + sharp object the dr5/12 is a big pile of snow or a word which means to glide.
dr8 is that big pile of snow plus something to anchor it.
Thanks Speedfreak and Hydra...for those ds

Good morning all... interesting little puzzle today!
hi jera everyone refresh new socks for me!
Oh dear... is it socks today? I never did find an Aussie show I felt secure in having represent me... should just gone with the Wiggles or Blinky Bill (I only know kids' stuff(...
me too, speedfreak! :-)
Hey everyone!
hey, jen
Mornin', Jen! How are you today, hon?
Tired! Had to get up at 5:30 to get hubby out of the house!
Okay, so how come pitter isn't a word... like the pitter patter of little feet? Or rain on your window?
old stripey socks are back to stay refresh!
several of us harumphed over that one, jera!
My husband had to work most of the night... got home around 4, now his alarm is going off... it never ends... the kids & I are sick...
hah, speedfreak!
I know I did!
Good to know I'm not harumphing alone, Unea... woulda been a decent scorer, too...
yes . . . no harumpher is an island . . . .
Guess we'll put off coffee again, then, Jera? I put on socks... refresh!
If the kids go away, I'm good, but if too sick to go to school, too sick to go out for fun. Me, on the other hand, I can drag myself out for fun!
Sounds good to me! We are pretty open to whatever, since We are on our own now. Let me know tomorrow.
nice socks jen is anyone else finding it's taking ages to load when ever you refresh???
Kay, I'll know before you go to the gym...
Mine lags a bit now & then, but pretty smooth this morning... maybe lotsa people on your server?
tee hee! You know my schedule! We'll head out about 10... Kids In Motion starts about then and Ethan likes to do that.
Good afternoon everyone : )
What is that? I'm looking for a kids' play gym for Gwyd...
Hey lola!
Greetings, Lola!! How are you today, hon?
hey, lola!
hi lola!
It's a program at our gym. Actually I think you have a Sport and Health Club near you in Woodbridge. Kids in Motion is a program from Greg and Steve (the big name in kid's music before the Wiggles came along).
Frood should be a word as well...
Anyone else rejoicing at the short number of re's today? :)
I used to have a gym right across the street... I finally got around to going one morning & they had closed!!
Jera, good thanks, and you? : )
We're a bit under the weather here, Lola... the kids have caught something & seem determined to pass it along to me...
REjoicing in fact!
LOL gran!
Well, I'll be... that's all the Q's??
Jen, yes! And I know Anj will be pleased that there are no A's again today, lol! Jera, sorry to hear that : (
freinds are here gotta go now see ya!
Hello Sunday Babblers! Is it Silly Socks day?
How long should I let the alarm clock beep before I get violent?? I'm getting a chinese water torture headache here & it's interferring with my Babbling...
Bye speed!
'bye sam : ) Hi jacs : )
I think it's just socks day, jacula... the silly is a given 'round here... morning!
ok got my socks
can you see my socks?
Hi all. I think me and my daughter probably own the National Collection of silly socks between us!:-)) Have just been into BabAnon on Bobsta's Babblers' Convention thread. I've written a speech for him.;-)
Babs they're lovely....invisible...but lovely
That's it... gotta go break hubby's alarm clock... back in a bit... (this could be a trap)
Jera - Take care! Stay out of arms' reach! Babs - I can see your socks.
Bye Jera!
mY OWN SOCKS TODAY ARE GIRLY PINK WITH A DACHSHUND ON THEM WITH LITTLE PINK RHINESTONE THINGYS ON THE LEAD.. *TRIES DESPERATELY TO SCRAPE SOMETHING STICKY FROM UNDER CAPS LOCK KEY WITH COTTON BUD AND SURGICAL SPIRIT*
BET JERA HAS GOT ROPED INTO MAKING COFFEE ;-)
Granadan - You haven't been eating something with maple syrup at the keyboard, have you? A lady in my other half's fave forum did that last night and ended up with a sticky space bar. LOL.
Hi everyone :) A very stripey day today!!!
NO - MY LAP WARMER IS OFF SICK - ANY CRUMBS, JAM ETC WAS SNAFFLED BEFORE IT HIT THE KEYBOARD. SINCE NO WIGGI, IM VANISHING UNDER A PILE OF CRUMBS, JAM AND TOAST CRUSTS.
Hi sis! (((x))) : )
Hi Lotti.
Hey Lotti! How are you today?
Hey Sis....sorry to do a runner yesterday!!! I was going to my friends 30th last night, hubby arrived home, I didn`t realise what the time was and I still had stuff to do!! LOL
lol, no worries sis, it happens to all of us! :) Did you have a good time then?
Hi Jac :) Hi Jen .... good thanks :) I`ve got Macadam and Dad coming for dinner :)
lotti, was just going to ask you about mom, haven't seen her since i got back. Is she okay?
Yeah great thanks. We left early though cos we took the kids and Hubby was away at 4am for work yesterday, so he was really tired last night!!
She hasn`t been brilliant Sis, but she`s much better now even though her voice comes and goes as it pleases.....mid sentence or not!!!! She said she just needs to get back into the Babble mood :)
Goodness! Is everyone's hubbys keeping weird work hours? Jera's got home home late, mine left this morn at 5:30 for a huge trip...
Yes Jen.... it seems that way. I think he`s off again about 5am tomorrow!! He can drive hundreds of miles a day between working on each site!!
Gracious! What does he do?
Why isn't 'pitter' a word?? The grid wouldn't accept 'sprog' yesterday either.:-(
Oh shame lotti! Give her a big squeeze from me tonight, okay?
Will do Sis!! Jen he`s an electronics engineer, mainly fitting and repairing generators and UPS`s(Uninterruptible Power Supplies) another form of electrical back up like a genni!!!
Wow, sounds a lot more complicated than I could handle. :) But then again, I majored in International Affairs as a way of avoiding all things math and science!
LOL!!! I`m relying on him to help me through my maths if I resit!!!
I see 'Frodo', 'Enid', 'Trini' and 'Ferdie' aren't allowed to use their 'Pritt' sticks in here. However, our he4/5, 'Rhett', says that 'Frankly,' he doesn't 'give a damn'.
Got to go sort out veg etc......BBL :)
'bye sis! : )
'Bye, Lotti. I should do the same soon.
Okay, 100 words done, 38 to go. That seems like a good point at which to take a Real World break. BBL.x
Bye Jac, Lotti!
'bye jacs : )
I'm back!!!! Just barely escaped with my life!!
I am just amazed that he slept through the alarm! :)
I know, I guess he's used to it... it was nerve-wracking to me from 2 rooms away... he was really tired...
Done. Anyone need anything? Is anyone even there? :)
changed my socks and gave them up to the cat whose ears were chilly...any clues for ti 6/27
Ti6 is a hat, also cockney slang for "tit for tat"
Thanks, jen...working on it...not coming to my fingers yet..
Yeah, I had never heard of it. I originally thought that another word for fight had a "t" of the end, instead of 2 of the same letter...but if you take that word and add an "er", you'll have it.
Got it, jen, thanks... that's an odd one! (good clues!)
slow brain function here...working on your clues and knowing it has to come alphabetically after the 5/10...
ah...finally got it! Thanks!
babs, try slang for breast plus the kind of tree you put up at xmas but with a different vowel.
Could I have some help with the last 2 he's? Are they still the he4/5 root?
No, Jera. Think sexual... as in I like men, so I am he....... then pluralize
Greetings : )
Hi babe! (((xx))) : )
like your windsock, anj! last he 5/12?
Got it, thanks Jen... how about the ei?? It's got me stumped...
Hi babe (((xx))) : ) Cheers Babs, something a bit different. I was goign to the go the RHCPs route but that can wait until after the watershed lol!
Never mind... saw it as soon as I asked...
Jera, ei5 - google Tomb Raider as in the game. It's the company that makes it.
Thanks Anj! I'm a HUGE tomb raider fan so that was easy :-)
result! : )
That wouldn't have worked for me... I knew the sociolgy side of it...
okay..I'm a little slow...so who is Tomb Raider and what is RHCP?
How about the last (?) fi4/7 (ye gods I feel stupid)...
Sorry I didn't get to you in enough time Jera... Ethan is playing on the disney channel online, so we are sharing the computer! :)
I have the one that sounds like a plant... then the 6 letter, need to plug that hole...
No problem, Jen... kids come first!
Babs, Tomb Raider is a video game, as in Lara Croft. Also been a couple of films too. RHCPs - Red Hot Chili Peppers - famous for their novel use of socks ; )
last fi is: Granular, partially consolidated snow that has passed through one summer melt season but is not yet glacial ice. But think of a leafy green plant and change the e to an i.
I have that one Jen, guess I'm out of order...
I have doing okay... burns you... and sounds like plant... need missing one
jer - think of a word that is on a fish and add a vowel
Jen, I hope you are quoting that definition, cuz you'd scare me if you just knew that (about the snow)...
hello : ) I see socks is going well! lol!
Got it pinecone... thanks... of course, add a vowel, duh!
Hi sweetie, dahling! ((x)) How you doing today? : )
Babbler! : D ((((xx)))) How you doing girl??
Greetings, Babbler!
Thanks, anj! guess my age is showing!
still looking for help here with the last he 5/12
Yikes, I had my F's waaaaay out of order!
Babs, he5/12 - think Hercules, Achilles, Paris etc...or small addictive choccies : )
Hi Anj (((xxx))), hi Lola (((xxx))), hi Jera, hi all! :D I'm good thanks. How is everone?
thanks...anj..had the other spelling down, but not that one...
Doing pretty good, Babbler, fighting off a bit of flu or bad cold... kids are sick & I'm doing my best to not be...
Fine thanks : ) Are you still ooop North?? Hey, i've just found an r5 that uses the Q : )
Need help with 2nd to last ho6/24 & last ho7/36, please...
Babs1...I fallen for that one before lol. Mins you, it didn't stop me from goofing up on the premie words yesterday : /
Got the 6, just need the 7 now...
aye, for real, Anj! LOL! : )
ho 5/14 + opposite of out is ho 7
babe, add pi to the front for a 7 ; )
sorry to hear that, Jera. Eat lots of fruit, and take Vit C, that should do it. Oh, and garlic wards off everything (including people lol!) :D
Cheers babe : )
tyvm pinecone... kinda tried that but dropped the e, so it didn't work...
I'm scarfing the C's, garlic & echinacea... can't get sick have to take care of everyone else!
brb, my son is naked for some strange reason...
yw jera...sorry to hear the family is sick
Okay, seeing as how disneychannel.com seems to be winning out, I am outta here. Have a great day everyone!! :)
'bye jen : )
hi folks :)
bad Sherb! I will have to change now... lol : ) Hi
Hi sherb : )
wassup, sherb....
no Anj - refresh! I saw you had the windsock too, and I've changed :) hi lola ;)
Yay! Done! 2 1/2 hours is a new record for me... :D
hi movieman :) hi vici :) ...are you new to Pro?
congrats, vici!! : ) bye Jen hi sherb : ) ((xx))
wtg Vici : ) I'm taking it slowly today : )
ooops! hi movieman! : )
hi, babs...
I'm back... sorry I missed Jen!
hi Babs :) ...socks is a tough one... I had to add a T, now I'm stocks...
well, I only popped in to say hi, drop off my handbag so you could see forthcoming themes, and copy the grid. Time to go chill with the family. Maybe see you all later / tomorrow? :D (((xxx)))
anj...do you do all the grids without a2z? someone yesterday was talking about your challenge to them to do without...don't think I'd ever finish that way, but amazed that people can..
lol! nice one, Sherb!! I thought of socks the other day as a theme and it made me laugh!! :D
sherb, I was playing babble a while back, before all the nifty additions to the site. I like the new setup! Definitely worth the $10.
Babs1, I hardly ever use a2z. I hate it. I use clues and just sit here and monkey-type... : /
1 to go...any clue on the ri5/16...i must be brain dead today...plzzzzzz
'bye babs! : )
well, congrats on your Pro status, vici... every new member helps to keep the site going, and it's nice to read the profiles... :D
I have 24 to go & may resort to a2z... more fun to bug you guys with dumb questions, LOL!
babs1, that was me. I do most of them without a2z now and find it much more enjoyable : )
Babbler...can I have your autograph? That's impressive!!!
no6/21 help, please?
There is a ring-bearer in the grid!!!! There is a ring-bearer in the grid!!!!
wow, lola! That's great..maybe someday I'll graduate!
Sam was the real he4/6 in that story (I have a nephew named after him)!
babs1, how long have you been playing?
lola..a couple of months..
jera...no6/21...when you dont take pills you have no6/21
tyvm Ouwa!
clue for the ri5/16...plzzzzzzzzzz
ri5, more ri4. You need to start with the other r : )
thanks, lola...needed that one too!
lola...thanks....duhhhhhhhhhhh hhhh
DONE...anyone need a clue before I go??
Yes please! fe6?
Yes!!! I'm stumped on all the pe's... only have the 4...
fe6...means untamed
Lola... think wild, but with a different ending...
jera, think what you put at the end of a sentence and pluralise : )
pe's...a couple of them come after a sentence
*smacks self repeatedly with Fish of Obviousness*
Got it, thanks guys! : )
babbler, what exactly is "new romantic 80s pop stars"--i'm confused by "new"
I agree Lola, much more enjoyable without a2z! (I haaaate a2z so much! LOL!) :D
What about the first pe6... I think I know what it's supposed to be but can't make it work...
jera, for the pe5/12's think small build, or pe*** four, and tom pe*** spelt differently : )
first pe6...think hillbilly "pretty"
Une - we're talking Duran Duran, Adam Ant etc. They came from punk and went for frilly shirts kinda goth looking.
hi! everyone
Oh... that's nothing like what I was trying to spell...
hi sam :)
right . . . just didn't get the "new" since it was the 80s . . . thanks
Hi sam! : ) Anj, you still there babe??
Une, that's what they were called, 'New Romantics'. I don't know where the name came from. Probably NME...
Lo, only just. I'm being distracted by live footie so i'm going to split for a while and find my last 30 or so later on : )
aaahhhh, missed the "s"--thanks
I got the small clue, but not the Tom one... also still need 1st pe6, please...??
LOL! Okay babe, thought it might be you computer again : )
hi Sam : ) bye Anj : ) (((xxx))) I'm deffo off now too. byeeeee! :D
Tom Pe*** and the heartbreakers? Just swap the last two letters of the other one around : )
'bye babbler (((x))) : )
jera, same first for letters as the next pe and add another word for expire.
bye Babs :)
Er...pt6 anyone??
Aargh, jera, should have said first THREE letters...sorry! : )
there is a clue for pt 6 in the log...pt + word for hesitation + vowel
No worries, Lola, i figured it out... ty!
Shows how much I've read about him... thought it was spelled with a y... tyvm, done with pe's!
Hi everybody any clues for the pr 5/12 please
jera, it is sweetie, that's why I said 'spelt differently', lol! : D
pr + chemistry term is pr 5
stumped on the ri 7/32's...
babs1, me too! I know that they are musical terms and are the same except for the last letter which are bith vowels, but I haven't managed to monkey them yet : /
Sorry, Lola, I get confused easily... ;>
supplied by renfield: a term applied to those instruments which only swell the mass or tutti of an orchestra, but are not obbligato (italian: singular and plural)
also they come from the r on the left.. but can't see yet
I was completely stumped on those too and had to google the definition
you can just google the definition :-)
jera, nice to know I'm not the only one! ; )
the r7's mean 'filled' in Italian - like Melanzane Ri**** - stuffed aubergines (eggplants)...
how cool! thanks, sherb!
Still cant get the pr 5/12
pinecone, I cannot get the pt! I assume that the word for hesitation is three letters long but can only see one that has two?
rosalind, try pr plus the 'me' vowel plus opposite of off.
hi lola...my fault..the clue I gave is a little off...it is pt + word for hesitation + opposite of out
rosalind, it was in yesterday's puzzle too . . . sounds like "I'm pr**** into your business" . . . I'm nosy
Thanks pinecone, got it now! : ) Still noodling the darn ri7's......
Une, has anyone told you lately that you have very sexy legs? ; )
not since the '70s . . . LOL!!!!
thanks, for all the ri 7 clues...finally got them..sounds very Italiano!
Totally stumped on the pi7/44... help, please?
Hello......just about recovered from last night....who decides to end the night on a gr8 but heady red wine....silly bear
Morning, sock's huh? Can tomorrow be Johnny Depp?
ok, it looked like the theme today was socks, so here i am
fyi these are the themes in babbler's list: 08 Jan - Socks 09 Jan - New Romantic 80s Pop Stars (for Atalante) 10 Jan - Flowers (for Mamabear) 11 Jan - Scenery (for Mamabear) 12 Jan - Comics (for Grey Woulf) 13 Jan - Favourite Superheroes ( for EasternBlue)
Lola so what's wrong with my sexy pins....and sandals too...how british...? I'm jealous
babs, I'm assuming the ri7's start with a word for tear and end in vowels. If I'm right can you help me out with the three middle letters I'm missing?? Please? : )
Hi tbear! LOL! Did you have a good time then? : ) Bunny, what a good idea! : D Hi hurshy! : )
I am missing all 4 of the e's on the second to bottom row, after the t. Hysterical blindness. Could someone get me started?
hi tbear :)
let's see... ri+alternate for a cake dessert +opposite of affirmative then the other one changes the last vowel
eva, do you have the perennial ee5 meaning scary, odd, strange?
Yes, but it doesn't assign it to that e.
Babs1! *mwha!* Thank you sooo much! : )
Eva: what about e + r 4/5 and then make plural
The Greek god of love starts from the E in the second-to-bottom row.
6 to go!! Need help with pi7/44, please?
Lola had a really nice time and met a really nice fella called......what for it.......Andy.....now would get confusing wouldn't it. Swiftly swooshes him into the no-go box....hahaha
Unea, where did you get that list? (Themes...)
Uni and Lola thanks for the clues I have found it at last couldn't see for looking.
Thanks kukana! That also made me see the two coming from wearing something down. Still missing one though.
pi7 is a french word that looks like a variation on the french word for "wig"--it's also just one letter off from the cajun boat similar to a canoe
pi + r 5/16 is p 7
tbear, that's great! Tell me more! : )
i didn't know it was sock day today. Here's a pair on the needle!
Thanks too pinecone!
bunny, if you click on the little pink icon next to babbler's name, it'll take you to her bio--at the end is the list of themes
I think the list of icon themes is also in babblers anon.
Nothing too much to tell...have met him before but really got talking last night....dunno....says fussy bear. he might be too keen...bear running fast for the woods...Making the girls a pot roast tonight...first ever, can get my head around meat on top of carrots and no oil or anything...weird
Okay, I've got two words left and they are probably really obvious but I can't see them! Help with do6/21 and ho6/24, please??
Got it, thanks! Took me a bit to find the right r5/16...
plural of ho5/14
last clue please for ho6/24 the one after7/36 please
lola, which ho6/24 do you need? I have two....
ooh, were you needing the ho6 . . . doing that ho6 that you do so well?
Now bear, remember what we talked about?! Just give it a chance and let yourself be happy! Potroast sounds yummy. I did a chicken one a few years back and it is a family favourite now, so let me know how yours turns out. : )
Only need 2 more, 2 of the so7/32's... I have the one ending in fancy eating... help??
Oops sorry! The second ho6 after the ho7/36 and before the ho5/14 : )
it's probably a nobrainer but could i have a hint re the re5/16?
Jera - just change the last letters ...
lola, see my clue
Got the one that sounds like a magician... one more!!
Any clues for the do6/21 and the do4 after it?
jera...the 3 so7's are the same except change the vowels on the end
each one ends in a different vowel (so7)
Whoo-hoo! Done!! AAAAAAND... a2z-free!!! *extra-happy dance of doneness*
congrats jera
Jera.....go.go.go...... :)
do4/5: the amount of medicine you're supposed to take
Unie - when you have a flat tire, you *** a new one... do it again...
yippeee jera!!!!
do6 is the plural of a small fishing boat
thanks, sherb!
Woo! Well done jera! : )
done! taking the pups out to enjoy this very unusual sunny, breezy, warm January day!
do6 = silly blue fish in Finding Nemo (kids' movie)... pluralised, if you can stand the thought...
Bye Unea!
Une....it's dark,cold and drizzling here...you lucky thing
seeya!
bye Unie :) enjoy your walk...
'bye Une, thanks for the clues : )
Thanks for the do6! It's another do4 that I'm missing. I have the medicine amount. Maybe I'm not missing any at all - have to recount.,
thanks for your help finished now . going to bingo to see if I can win some money. bye bye
'bye rosalind : )
See you tomorrow
The do4 you need sounds like how you get into a house... different spelling
Jera, thanks but have that one too. I have 4 do4/5's. The one you just suggested, the normal spelling for portal, the female bambis, and the medical amount. Is there another?
jera, please, help me with the second ho6, it's driving me nuts!
eva, yes. Completed.
ho 6..plural of ho 5...gather and gather and gather stuff until the "clean house" people have to show up to shovel it all out! lol
Thanks lola...nothing worse than spending hours searching for something that doesn't exist.
babs1, got that one. It's the second one I'm after.
eva, no! There is one more, it means completed. We say this when we finish the grid : )
need help with one of the last pe 5/12..have the one that is small...also, the pe 4/5
babs, swap the last two letters of the small one around.
pe4/5, it's a hot spice : )
Aargh, just got the stupid ho6! *smacks forehead* Well, at least I'm finished : )
Thanks for clues...taking break to walk with furkids, real kid, and adult kid hubby..
'bye babs1, see you later : )
Everybody's going walkies,so I'm walking into the kitchen for a choccie fix.....
WELL done Lola.....
Oh dear, I'd better go start dinner. See you all later : )
hi everyone! how's today's?
Nice and gentle so far Temple
later lola :)
hi Temple :) ..so-so today...
bye lola if you are still here
I'm back for a while. I've got Paul to take a pic of my real feet in one of my pairs of silly socks and one of my pairs of silly slippers. I shall put that up soon. I do have a pair of toe socks just like those in the present icon though - they are originals from the 1970s.
yo yo - nice socks everyone
hello
hi nut :) ...where's yer socks?...
hi! bye! be back later!!! have a good day!!!
cant you see them? they have little kitties on them
*turns head to see Mama breezing through the log...*
that mama...
Did I just see a bear behind? LOL.
yeah, it was a hairy butt...
Must've have been Paul then, cooking in the buff again. ROFLOL.
hi jacs - whoops i smell lunch burning...bbl
whoa ...* trips over jacula * - watch that laughing, might hurt someone
I just found dr8/65 entirely be accident. I'd never have guessed it as a word!
Where, what when how....did I miss something rude?? Typical....
Ouch, Evan! Didn't you see my stripey feet waving in the air?
sorry jacs, i was distracted by the passing hairy butt
Who's hairy butt?
*Log goes quiet as those present try to think of a suitably groanworthy 'bear' joke with which to greet TBear.*
um...either mama's or paul's, i'm not sure
Jacula...ain't getting my bear bare a** out.....but it is groanworthy....
I'm gonna tell Mama you said she had a hairy butt...
thankfully, if it is hairy, i've never seen it.
Now look sherb as if it wasn't bad enough that I missed the whole thing now you trying to drop me in it.....sherb I though we were friends....no darnedporridge for you matey..
* snickers *
tbear - no fear... nut's the guilty party... and she knows it...
*mamabear peeks around log corner....tee hee.....*
* shaking in violent fit of laughter *
Mama - look what you started...
This is my idea of a perfect Sunday, pot roast cooking, wildlife progs on tv,almost g&t time,Time Team starting in 15mins,Babble and Babble friends (except sherb!!)
only thing that could make it better would be a steelers win in cincy - now that would make it perfect.
How about a pic of Paul's hairy butt instead? REFRESH! Tee hee, hee.
ok, now nut's got me into trouble with tbear... better just look quietly for words...
go Steelers! I'm orginally from Pittsburgh, PA
Mama.....you'll believe a fellow Bear...apparentely evanonut said you have a hairy butt....well you would wouldn't you....or else you'd be a bare bear...they are just jealous.....
right on pine! i love to make trouble * rubs hands together with a malicious grin *
Jacula....close up close up
*Jac whistles innocently and sets about looking for words...*
there's nothing innocent about that jacs
ok, here i am, focussing on the grid, and i look back at the log, and what on earth has been going on? where's the class, the sophistication i have come to expect from babblers? ;)
all I said was HI & Bye!!!!! How did all this hairy butt nonsense come about!!!!!! And I usually wear pants, for your info!!!! But it IS early...... give a bear a brake!! It's hard getting pants on with these paws!!!!
TBear - I'd better not 'cos it's rather a cheeky photo.;-) If you want a close up you'll have to save it to your own computer.
so sensitive...*sniff* i think i'll just go hunt words now
it was nut started it, miss, honest...
Hi! Bye! see you all later! Have a good day! (Part 2)
scuse me sherb? who was it commented about a bear bum???????
FINISHED!!!! today the puzzle has proved to be a little brat! see ya in two days now have to get off because dad is nagging me to have tea!
*Jac sits quietly in the corner, polishing her halo.*
good job sam!
WELL DONE SAM!
have fun sam - * tosses jacs a dirty look *
*Jac tosses Evan's dirty look into the washing machine. 'Good grief! Gawd knows when she last washed that!'*
hmph - i'll have you know once a year whether it needs it or not!
*Succumbs to fit of giggling.*
nut - ok, so Jac started it, and you carried on... I stand corrected :D
* tries to toss another dirty look, realizes it is in the wash, settles for mild scowl *
Sherb - you have to stand after being 'corrected', unless you remember to put a cushion down the seat of your pants. *Grins.*
yay!
i love this place, i try to work when i'm in here, but i never get anything done.
*sniffs, and ignores nut and Jac...*
we're all so offended - either we're all a big room of pms, or we're grumpy cause we have to go back to work tomorrow.
what's this i hear? a dr 8?
Sherb - Here, have a tissue - save your sleeves. *Jac makes note to ask HarpJane to play Greensleeves for Sherb.*
c'mon - grabs sherb and jac in a big "bear" hug
is there a clue for the dr 8 (she asks with a smile)
DR8 - expand you dr5/18 (what a boat does if not steered or tied up) and add a 3-letter word that AKnitter uses 2 of.
*Jac hugs Evan & Sherb.*
*grabs tissue and hugs nut and Jac* ...now, where did that Mama go? ...
dunno, should we hug her butt
Excuse me where's my hug then? Feel like I'm missing out on everything today.....
hi knitter :) ...you went Pro, congrats... now you just need a profile... :)
* tackles tbear with great big hug *
ty jac, that 3 letter thing threw me for a minute (we speak a different sort of english!!)
Bears are for life not just for Christmas
oh dear sherb, i had one, where do you suppose it went???
I suppose I'd better take Paul's butt off my icon now and put my feet in my bedsocks on instead... Incidentally, where did TBear get to? If she still looking at the close up of P's butt??
Thx evanonut....needed that.....right back at ya...
*big hugs for tbear*
*Hugs for TBear.*
Morning All!
*looks around for knitter's profile* ...did you click on 'Update Babble Profile' at the bottom of the screen after you entered your details?
heya shorty
Ok Ok I'm well and truly hugged now.....thanks
you asked for it tbear
hey shorty :)
i did do that, i seem to have disappeared after i changed my icon for sock day
spooky...
Hiya Shorty.
oh look, I've returned, very strange
well that was short lived I gotta run for now
short lived shorty......like that
hmmnn... it's what you might call minimalist...
short
sigh....
you guys are funny bye bye for now
'Bye Shorty. My feet in my piggie bedsocks are now tramping through the log. REFRESH to see them.
nut - just think, if you went Pro, you could have pictures of Stephanie Plum and all her friends...
Just found the 2nd ho7/36 by accident.
could i get a clue for the fe 6/27...my brain is scrambled
care to share a clue jac?? could use your wisdom here
fe 6/27 -- think wild animal
wild animal like
nut - we wanna see some spandex!!!!
ty ty
2nd ho7/36 - use the 2nd ho5/12 (a crowd) then add the opposite of 'out'.
hi renfield..... :)
hi tbear....8)
Hi Rennie! Are those your feet? Mine are my feet. (If that made sense.)
ty jac
I looked on Google and there are some good icons for Stephanie...
i want someone elses's feet...my feet are big...
i wear 8 1/2's, those are honker feet for a shorty like me, and I don't even ski
those are cute feet jacula...i like the little pinky toes...8)
Ren - Your feet have to be long enough to support your heigh. Otherwise, you'd topple on your face. The taller the person, the longer the feet. That's Nature.
Meant *height.
i wear a 9 1/2 AAA but bunny (notice the way i spell but) bunny feet are for hopping!!!!
* ignores the word 'but'...*
Good morning -- left last night with 8 to go.
thank you sherb...we should use however...8)
I can usually nail these grids in an hour or so, but today, ugg....off and on for hours.
hi cybernan...
24 words left to go here but ... erm, I meant 'however'... I need to nip over to the shop for some cigarettes. (Note, those in UK, I didn't say 'fags' for fear of shocking our US friends, who use the word in an enitrely different way.) The Naked Chef and I may be on a 'revised eating plan' to start the new year, but (whispered this time) we haven't given up the evil weed at the same time. BRB
Hi t-bear
does anyone know how to use the COUNTIF function in ExceI, working with negative numbers? I want to highlight all the numbers in a list with values below minus 10, and I'm stuck...
need help with er5/112 and er6/21
All checked off!!!! -------- woohoo! Anyone need a clue?
ohh, don't say CIGARETTE!!!
never mind, as usual, found them right after I posted
er 5/12: rot away (by wind or water) er 6/21: the plural
Sorry Bunny! WELL DONE, CYBERNAN. *Off to shop now.*
sherb - can you COUNTIF less than zero?
Sherb - Sorry, I haven't used EXCEL for some years. I'd be out of date.
Temple - that's what I'm wondering... cos whether it's above or below minus 10, it returns a blank cell... better get out the manual...
need help with so7/32x3
thanks anyway, Jac... I sometimes try to stretch my brain working out these things, then wish I hadn't started... might have to ask the boffin at work...
i can use basic COUNTIF, it's the function rather than trying to count negative...another way to do it id to filter data then count it
sherb - like this =COUNTIF(M11:M17,"<-10") whe re M11:m17 = whatever range you're using
do 6/21 anyone with a clue please
WTG, atalante!
do 6/21: plural of a small fishing boat used on the Atlantic coast (N.A.)
do 4/5 before it, pluralize
alas, i've been unable to decipher the clue for the dr 8..
thanks cyber got it (my sisters name also)
dr 8: compound word - snow dr*** + something used to secure your hair (bobby ***)
the joys of working with excel all day, every day!!
Hello, still need help with the so7/32x3 - can't find any of them :(
Atalant - sorry, asked the wrong question - I can get COUNTIF to work, but not IF - I have a column with a list of negative values, and in the column next to it I want to repeat just those entries which are lower than minus 10 I've tried =IF(A3<-10, A3,""), but it just returns a blank whether or not the numbers below -10
so 7's: all musical terms that usually begin with con -- only the last letter (vowel) is different in each word.
ty, cybernan! hurshy, are you here?
so 7's: think of little fish that are either smoked or come in cans -- change first vowel
hmmmm thats harder! *thinks*
cybernan, thanks, your second clue helped me, got all three
cyber - i already had the fish in a can - great clues for the balance! got those other two
sherb - have you just got negative values, or a mix of positive or negative? I can think of a fix for you if there's only negative ...
Atalante - all negative
Atalante - I worked it out - the entries are all percentages, so 12% is actually 0.12... duh, I should have seen that sooner, sorry... thanks for the help... :D
If no one needs a clue, I will be off.
lol - anyway - just worked this out - for future use :P =IF((ABS(M11))>10,(M11)," ")
help please with fe6/27, te5/14 and ti4/5
found the te5
fe 6/27 means untamed (clue in log)
fe 6/27: like the f word for flour, change first vowel
ti 4/5: alternate spelling for N.A. native dwelling
the fe is spelled just like another word for cat with the exception of the third letter
t 4/5 = what you give a waiter + vowel
bye cybernan- ty for the clues : )
Looks like there are lots of clue givers, so I'm away til the flip :)
bye
thanks Atalante - saved that for future reference :) sorry to have made you think about Excel at the weekend... back to Babble... :D
Is there a theme for tomorrow?
thanks for the clues found the ti4, and fe6
hello everyone....hope all are ok .....45 worsd to go and counting

I'll have a look, bunny
That's why I'm not done either, i keep re-typing words I've already found cause I can't type...
09 Jan - New Romantic 80s Pop Stars (for Atalante) 10 Jan - Flowers (for Mamabear) 11 Jan - Scenery (for Mamabear) 12 Jan - Comics (for Grey Woulf) 13 Jan - Favourite Superheroes ( for EasternBlue)

For the fi6/27: Sven and Ole worked together and both were laid off, so off they went to the unemployment office. Asked his occupation, Ole said, "Panty stitcher; I sew the elastic onto cotton panties." The clerk looked up panty stitcher. Finding it classified as unskilled labor, she gave him $300 a week unemployment pay. Sven was asked his occupation. "Diesel fi****," he replied. Since diesel fi**** was a skilled job, the clerk gave Sven $600 a week. When Ole found out he was furious. He stormed back into the unemployment office to find out why his friend and co-worker was collecting double his pay. The clerk explained that panty stitchers were unskilled and diesel fi****s were skilled labor. "What skill?" Yelled Ole. "I sew the elastic on, Sven pulls it over his head and says, "Yep, diesel fi****."

Yes, please, Karys.
ei.....starts usual duck...ends os
pr5/12 - A microscopic protein particle similar to a virus but lacking nucleic acid, thought to be the infectious agent responsible for scrapie and certain other degenerative diseases of the nervous system. Sounds like a pr word meaning 'before' but had a different consonant to end it. TTFN.
Shorty, the no6/21 sounds like someone who skipped their usual medicine ; )

M£, pr plus the 'me' vowel plus opp of off : )
hi BJ :) ...saw your post earlier about the IF statement...finally worked out the reason I couldn't get it to work was that my values were displayed as percentages, so -12% was actually -0.12... nevermind, only wasted two hours before I got it right...
it's the simple things that get us.....
whicked thanks xxxxx
???????
What's up, nut? : )
not much, noticing the silence is all.
had to pay for three days of my hubbies drugs due to technical difficulties...$1000 - ouch
lola - can you give me a clue for the ho6 that isn't what bad boys wear, or crowds... hi nut :)
hey sherbie
sherb, it ends in a double vowel : )
nut...8)
ren! - - - - - how you doing?
Evanonut...that's some technical difficulty... : / HI Ren : )
tell me bout it anj - luckily - once they fix it they'll give it all right back to me
thanks lola! ...forgot about the ones on the top row... :D
hi anj... nut...i'm watching a really bad movie.....
sherb, me too! Took me bl**dy ages to find it! : /
ren... bad as in good, bad as in awful, or bad as in naughty?
hi ren :) hi Anj :)
Ooh, ren, if it's the latter can we come over?? I'll bring popcorn! : )
the latter is always good for a laugh.
bad as in bad script, bad editing....1940's comedy w/ jack carson....
*lola pours popcorn kernels back into box*
bummer - i've had a hankering to watch the a&e pride and prejudice
Hey Ren, Chrysler are getting in on the retro act now. Have you seen the '06 Challenger?? : D
Hi everyone........how can rain go "patter" if it doesn't first "pitter" ?
sherb... you even had me working on that formula...
oh, it can patter lola, you naughty thing you!
I agree on the pitter. I was outraged -- outraged, I tell you. Besides, that's what takes the seeds out of cherries, surely.
probably it patters in the script of rens movi
ren - it had me tearing my hair out... and I felt bad cos Atalante tried to help me, and I'd got it mixed up all along... don't mix Babble and spreadsheets, that's the moral of this story...
anj...my mom was talking about it...i wasn't sure if it was her dementia...she always drove chrysler cars w/ hemi's...she cannot have a car...well if i can drive it she can have a car...8)
lol Ren : ) It's got a 6.1 hemi according to the spec... Looks more like '70 'Cuda than a Challenger tho'...
lola...we bought a movie last weekend - something about the wasp women from outer space.... and the intro was pure porn.... it was made in 1950...we were soooo totaly shocked... 8O
hmmmm...i have a fiesty ford focus
i knew you were naughty ren - it's just what grandma mazur would watch
hmmm, but strangely aroused too?? lol! : )
anj the front end looks like the magnums....i drove a magnum....it was fast...
* hands over ears * la la la la la
nut...we didn't watch it ...we took it back and said it was not what we wanted.... 8)
huh? couldn't hear you.
nut nananananana...listen...
yes ma'am - * snaps up a salute *
now girls...
yes sherbie?
anj..i was looking at the dodge charger.... i haven't seen a challenger yet...
whose your favourite character in the Stephanie Plum novels, nut?
without a doubt lula sherb - and you?
Stephanie Plum? World's greatest bounty hunter?
indeed darleen
may I play?
Ren: http://www.creatingtheli e.com/auto_gallery/ mopar/imag es/plum_RT_challenger_front.jp g
play?
Right, it's time for me to say goodnight as it IS a school night after all. See you all tomorrow : ) Anj, 'nite babe, sweet dreams ((((xxx)))) : )
fave character? Just didn't want to butt in like I usually do...
night lola....8)
please do
feel free to always butt in
Oh goodie! I adore Grandma, Lula is a hoot but RANGER! wowzer. ;-)
i'm rooting for ranger
well, I'm only on book two, but Joe's my favourite so far... haven't seen much of Lula or Ranger yet...
So who would you pick to play him in a movie?
nite lola :)
Oh lucky Sherb! You get to read them all new. sigh. We plowed through them (both hubby and I) like a hot knife through butter. Lula really grows on you and Grandma Masur... what a broad!
the rock of course
yeah, I like Grandma! ...she just fell into a coffin at a viewing...had me laughing out loud on the bus to work...
lula grows in each book - she's indispensible
Hmmm. I have to think about the Rock. I mean, I really like him but I think of Ranger as being shorter and more compact. More LATIN. with long dark hair. oooh. I'm swooning. While I'm trying for air here, anyone have a clue for the pi7? I'm stumped.
'nite Lo (((xx))) Sweet dreams babe ; )
er... who's the rock? ...*shows ignorance...*
Oh god Sherb! Grandma gets into SO much trouble. I love the fact she's always packing, too. What a character.
mmmmmm...ranger - joe's okay - but ranger is the one to fantasize about
pi7 sounds like a French wig, or a type of parrot... uses the Q
sherb - the rock, former professional wrestler - rather comical and totally hot.
Who's the Rock??? Did you see The Scorpion King? that's the Rock. Famous "wrestler" with a gorgeous bod.
Yeah. Ranger. Every time he says "Babe." to stephanie I just about faint.
yes, i get hot flashes, and i'm not hot flash aged
thanks Sherb. Almost missed the clue in amongst the Ranger talk.
better speed up my reading...
savor it sherb, you'll be sad when it is gone
Oh no, sherb, Enjoy them!
now I'm back at work, it's either books or Babble in my spare time...I'm torn...
http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/c oncept-cars/first-full-shots-o f-dodge-challenger-concept-144 475.php
both ofcourse - wish i could get spare time at work
Hmm. If I had to choose between Ms. Stephanie and Babble, I'm afraid Babble would lose. Until I was done reading.
anj...does look like a 'cuda
"waves at Brandjack" ahoy dude, is that YOU in the picture?
Tis indeed. Got tired of staring at Rygel.
Well, don't let this go to your head but you are MUCH prettier than Rygel. ;-)
well aren't you just a handsome son of a gun brandy jack * pinches his cheek *
I always picture BJ in his captain's hat... *sings ..."all the nice girls love a sailor"...*
Challnger looks nice from the front, but the back is too 21st century looking. LIke the ford Reflex better. Seen that super chief hybrid yet?
i thought all the nice girls loved truck drivers?
brandyjack are you ignoring us?
They be the only ones then. Rest of us hate those gas sucking fume spewing vision blocking monstrosities and the apes that drive them...
guess the truck drivers must look different in your neck of the woods, nut...
ignoring you?
ahem...gently i must inform you that my husband is a truck driver.
Project moonraker. Now there's a car......
Yeah. Like there was a wee bit of flirting going on and you just drove that Reflex right over it. hahahaha. Truck drivers. UGH!!!! AND their nasty trucks.
i assure you he is quite handsome
as I said, they MUST look different...
Truck driver or driver of a truck? There is a difference. One is an occupation, the other is a serious PITA.
oops. Sorry Evanonut. Everyone but HIM of course. I'm sure he wouldn't try to run me off the road. nuh uh. Nice guy Mr. Evanonut.
truck drive, cdl, freight delivery, etc
Must have been too subtle for me then. Anything less than a brickbat just doesn't get my attention....
although i do agree with the generality of the statements
I was referring to the four-wheelers that get less MPG than he does.....
brandy..had not seen the ford reflex...kinda of like a porsche delorean...smooth... we have a gazillion bubba dually trucks here...
Now I have to explain. We live in the sticks. Too many semis on the road. Doubles are bad, triples are worse. They scare me half to death even in my minivan.
i feel bad for the guys driving them personally - i get this insight from my charming husband.
Well, I'm short a brickbat and I've stuck both feet in my mouth so I guess it's time to take a break and go do some meaningful work. Time to play with some fire. Later dudes and dudettes.
Saw that out-take from Damnation Alley that GM is pushing as an RV. Nice machine...
seeya darleen - have fun
bye Darleen - nice chatting with you :D
later darleen
am I the only person who hasn't finished yet? ...I still have the E's and the D's to find...
how many words are there today
I still have 41 to go....
need help with the ri 5/16 and both of the ri 7/32s
you are not the only one who has not finished. I am picking away slowly
same here - slowly but steady
tim if you have the ri 4/7 than it is more of that
Tim - ri5/16 is comparative of preceding word... ri7's mean 'filled' or 'stuffed' in Italian - culinary or musical terms, singular and plural
ri 7/32 -- there was a great clue in the log this a.m. sounds like to tear a piano, then change the last vowel to another for the 2nd 7/32
they're not hot flashes, they are Power Surges. lol
...just one white box left...
Hey all... how goes the battle? Is anyone stuck?
Any clues to the 2 Qu words that don't mean gay.
tri is 3, qu** is four, change the last vowel. plural.
ywoolf - 138 words (you can find stats at Babblers Anon - link on the right of screen) :)
Hi all! I wrested the computer from my son, LOL! Anyone need any help?
hi Jera :) ...slowly, slowly...
i am beyond help
steelers are playing now. c-ya'll later
cool. thanks
qu4 = variation of four sided area (like in college where four dorms make a square... not spelled with an a, though. qu5 = the normal plural.
later nut :) hi Jen :)
Jen! You're back! {{hugs}}
Heeeeey Jera! Hugs back! Yeah, to quote Ethan, I'm bored! :))))
hows about a clue for the ei 5
bye nut
Whoops - sudden attack of long phone call there... Ren, I will send you a better link for the Challenger, Camaro et al That Reflex is just a concept isn't it. Ford reckon they will use the diesel-electric hybrid motor tho'
I'm taking advantage of the relative quiet to sneak back here to chat a bit... Sprite is doing some spelling homestudy work & Gwyd is coloring (I hope it's a coloring book)...
ei 5 -- the distinctive expression of the cognitive or intellectual character of a culture or a social group
ei: "the distinctive expression of the cognitive or intellectual character of a culture or a social group" or I think I heard ref earlier to the productio comp. of the Tomb Raider game
ok anj...
ei5/12. Add the pre-windows operating system to it. Or its the makers of Tomb Raider video game.
no 6/21 anybody?
Somebody gave a good pop culture clue for the ei... something about it's the comapny that makes Tomb Raider video game, I think??
Renfield, BTW, hook 'em horns!!!!!
Jen... I knew the first def you gave... we don't really do video games...
no6, think of a pill you used to take in college to help stay awake!
The Reflex is the diesel hybrid. I got confused. The Super Chief is just a multi-fuel gas hog locomotive on the pavement.
ty jen, got it
jen...oh yes!! that was a very good game...thrilling to the last second!!!
We don't do video games either... Ethan has a Leapster for "educational" games. I refuse to give into the video games, because I will lose hubby AND son! LOL
We do some computer games, but not stuff that hooks up to the TV... all the wires we already have are complicated enough, LOL
Wish my game could have had the same happy outcome too renfield! Oh well... not a bad game for the #24 team against the #3 team (can we say overranked? yes, I think we can!)
Ya, I meant computer game, not video. although I think there are xbox/nintendo versions out there.
Since I didn't pop pills or stay awake through college, that no6 is avoiding me...
no + do 4/5 (go to sleep)
brandyjack, opp. of yes, plus a portion of a medicine.
Thanks.. little too obvious for me. didn't even have the do4/4......
do4/5. fat fingered as well as not awake....
thanx any clues for the he 6/30 6/21 and 7/32
Not so much not sleeping (spelled with a z) as a prescribed amount of medication.... hope that helps...
tim, he6 is opposite of the qu5
It also means knobbly or having lots of joints... ending is sometimes meaning sugar, I think?
I'm sorry... have I run the no6 into the ground yet??
Tim, I am a female and like males, so I am a he... then pluralize.
Tim, see my clue at 1:19
hahaha jen...i was thinking of the otc drug that keeps you awake.... it does hav e a z....8)
sorry jera....not jen.... and i'm not awake either....
thanx brandy jen and miss gotem exept for the he 6/30
Hmmm, I call a sleep aid Jack Daniels and a non-sleep aid Starbucks, so I don't know what you are talking about ren! ;)
help on do 6/21 and dr8/65 pleeeease?!
he 6/30 = he 4//8 + suffix (alters tense)
never mind jen...i was trying to read and got confused...8)

I need just 21 more .............................. ........
ywoolf - good going :) ...are you new to Babble?
yeah - it's my second game. 58 now
need help on all the big ho words except for the sweatshirt....................
I warn you, ywoolf, it's highly addictive... but fun :D
ho 6 = like a black magic term used in a song you do the ho**** so well,,,
I just found this site: http://www.hyperdic.net /idx/tip.htm change the letters TIP in the URL to something like EI and it will give you an index of all the words that start with EI
ywoolf - there's also a2zwordfinder.com and morewords.com, which enable you to look up words if you know one or more letters...
tim - ho 6 = ho 5 /14 + 2nd & 3rd vowel + consonent or google A peculiar starchy matter contained in barley. It is complex mixture
ooh, ren, good clue! ...I think that's a Fred Astaire song... *tries to remember...*
pi 7?
thanks sherb...i can't take credit for it..it was earlier today,,8)
jane - pi7 uses the Q, and sounds like a French wig or a type of parrot
pi7, no def but it's sort of like the Polish stuffed treat, and it uses the funny 2 letter cube.
pi + ro 5/16 (like a wild man or elephant)
Thank you, Jen!
pi7/44 = pi*****fort dressing?
i need to take a sudoku break. switch to numbers
clever, BJ :)
Okay, this time I mean it, I am tearing myself away... {{pulls hands from computer}} See you all tomorrow! :)
later jen...i'm going back to work....8)

pl of or4/5
or 5/12 - plural of or 4/5 or calendar of Catholic Masses
Hi everyone! How is the puzzle today?
Hi folks. Me and my bedsocks (see icon) are back to find the last 10 words.
what would be cool is if the "my word list" was in it's own field with a scroll down bar....or am I just lazy!
Hi Jac, long time, nice socks!
Thanks, MrPres., just one of my many pairs of silly socks.
my 7year old has the same pair LOL 8D
hi mr P :) ...you could always open up Babble in two windows, and have the log in one and the list in another...
first re 4/7..just slap me silly, go ahead...someone...right in my face and I could not see it. *groan*
Tamara - I think that many of us have been there !!!

oh, I'm desperate from the flip... believe me!! I get the puzzle at 5pm here and sometimes the BJ stats don't come up until midnight!
te 5/14 used in reference to warm as in te*** water
te5 - warm... in5 - understand
in...kind of like imply, in this case the reader might in*** a meaning from what they read...
thank you sherb and babs 1

Oh, sorry Babs. Would you like to see my cow slippers (but you can't see the tail), my piggie slippers or my Pink Panther slippers?
Good Luck Nonny. {{gives support hugs}} You can do it!

Jacula: first so7: if you overexercise, your musclescan be so**(remove the vowel that's in the second position in the list of vowels)+a five letter word for what you do when you eat.
well jac, if we can't see the all, the ones you would love most to show off!
Angelsong - Thanks for that! Babs - you can see em all, but only one pair at a time.
the so 7/'s have all beginnings the same...first one sounds like the fish they sell in the small tins.
Babs - tomorrow's theme is New Romantics - 1980's pop groups like Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Adam Ant...
missing the last fr4/7

he 6/30...more of he 4 above it the other one you asked for has the sexual preference thing in it
My cat likes the slippers, too. In fact he likes anything that's been on my feet. We're beginning to think he needs help! LOL.
it's funny that people identify that with sexual preference, when in reality, of course, it is just the prefix and has nothing whatever to do with sex until you add that to it!
thanks for that reminder, hurshy!
Any help w/ fi 6/27???
nonny - in better shape
fi6/27 - you go to a gym to get fi6/27.

(Bet Babs goes off and rounds her neighbours up!)
both kids are still up - can they vote too? they are raising their hands
Jac, tell him the kids are waiting!! They really want to see the pj's! They won't go away... oh my god, they are square dancing whilst they are waiting.... help!!
tbear - think a fish that's tightly packed, but change first vowel. then the other two are same except each has a different last vowel.

Mr. P...well..the longish ones are what you end sentences with and the mid size sort of French words for small... I have never found a definition for that oo word...any ideas on what it means?
Paul...you must come in closer so we can see your PJ's...*squinting horribly to try to make out if there's a man in the icon!*
any1 have some good clues
Babs - Okay but you won't see the shorts or the slippers. Or the legs!
thanks babs, they were good clues!
Babs1, the oo is apparently the Korean equivalent for the English word 'our'... other than that reference, I can't find anything either, not even in the Encarta.
Paul very fetching...do you also have a birthday suit...?

hey who wants a new kind of word puzzle?
thanks so much, never would have gotten the r/7 without your help Me, I want a new word puzzle, what is it?
you get a set of letters, which are part of a phrase. there are a bunch of letters missing though - two sets of 3 of the same letter. so let's say, three a's and three n's, for instance. you have to figure out what the missing letters are. and you know the number and length of the words in the phrase.
so for instance: IRAMON (3, 5, 4) is a three word phrase with those respective lengths. the letters you have are in the correct ORDER, but might not be adjacent of course.
hurshy, is there a name for this game, can you play it on line like Babble?
i don't know i just found out about it yesterday from a friend and i don't know where they got them

The so7's: Base word is the so4/5 that means a flight of mallards but sounds more like a long, sharp weapon. The first sounds like a tinned fish, of the kind that are tightly packed. The other two are the same but with different vowel endings.

2nd no 4/5 please .... i've been looking forever
It's his dinner suit Babs. In truth, he's still in the pj's he had to put on for you earlier. However, he's just gone up to bed so it'll be his birthday suit and a duvet soon. No need for granadan to fan herself with a copy of 'The People's Friend' again - he always sleeps like that! Incidentally, her post reminded me of that Victoria Wood song, 'I Can't Do It!' ... the line which says, 'Beat me on the bottom with a Woman's Weekly!' ROFLOL.)
Babs - Yes, the word is still used occasionally.
I have three left to find and am sooooo buggered!! can someone please point me in the direction of od5/12 & both tr5

there, there Mr. P....please cheer up! You are most generous one...and appreciated here!
mr p.... why the tears?????? there is no crying in babbleonia!!!! only occasional fits of giggling and such.
Yes, mrpresident! Clue giving is difficult sometimes, and especially after just finishing the grid.

I think the doggie one is the same as p____ fours isn't it?
babs, i typed that several times always being told that it wasn't in the grid. i'll refresh and try again
pi 4/5 - rhymes with turn
eva - change the order of last 2 letters for the 2 pe words
aknitter...I've often thought there might be a bug in the program...as I've had that experience many times myself..so every once in awhile, I refresh to check and see if something is now on my found word list..
You guys are great!!! Now how about that second no6/21? I'm also in that really anoying place of missing two other which I didn't pick up from Brandyjacks list, so I don't know which ones they are - a t and a d. So I'll have to go through the list again.
i had words earlier without points! after i hit refresh the points appeared. must be a poltergiest
there's only one no 6/21 - the no sleep one
and sometimes it will take any word you type in, not add points, but then when you refresh, whoosh, they are gone!! tricky tricky.
Eva - there's only 1 no6/21.
This is annoying probably, but may I have a clue for the big dr8 please?
dr 8 take the run away boat and add a 3 letter broach
dr8 - dr5 (what a boat does when not steered or tied up) + one of what AKnitter uses to knit with.
Okay, I've homed in on the d. It is one of teh do4/5's beefore the do 6/21. I have the female bambi, the portal and the strangely spelled portal.
Thank you ak and jacula, very grateful.

Eva!!! are you there???
ro 6/21 please -- other wise i will be forced to stick one of my pins in my ear
need 1 more word ....... the 2nd ho 6/24 ......... any clues??????????
tim - sounds like voodoo!!!!
ro 6/21 past tense of ro 5.. has double vowel
(singing) 'you do that ho6 that you do so well...'
ak - one is a plural and the other a past tense of the words above them
Which ro6/21? The bronco contests or the past tense of the word that rhymes with goose?
Eva, now I see why you don't have any time lefy for writing!!! or taking fotos!!!! anyway I Forgive you and send a big hug!
mab - you took that clue right out of my head!!!! LOL
hi jac!!!!! who's the suit? nice!
the word that rhymes with goose, can't figure out how to "past tense" it
ak - add a d
and don't I have a lovely voice, mama? I'll get out of you head now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I'm done, for the first time in weeks. Now I can sleep the sleep of the babbled.

I just came home, and can't go to bed without trying to find some more words !!!! I'm happy that you got my message!!!!! Sweet dreams.. Congratulations for completing this job!!!!!
Babs is that really your kitty? And if so, is it seriously drugged? Mine wouldn't stand for such an indignity without serious bloodshed.
Well, folks, me and the male model are off to bed now. Happy Babbling.
G'nite Ms. Jac . .
Elena, I like it that I can imagine exactly where you are sitting.
I'm dying trying to find ro 5/16...any help?

Nite Jac!!!!! Off to have socks I see!!!!! (sorry, couldn't resist at least ONE of those tonite!!!)
Good night, bon nuit, laila tov to everyone.
'Night Jacula. 'Evening Torgone.
ro 5/16 sounds like a stone...has the q in it...
Howdy, Ms. mab ..
ro 5/16 - rhymes with broke - use the q
reality -- the ro is another word for stone using that q
Laila tov, Eva.
I see how it is, Torgone!!! mab gets a howdy, I get ignored..... *mamabear shuffles off in a heap of sobbing*
that's fine, yes, it's just the same place.... but it's very late, and now I'm going to sleep, big kiss, gnite!!!
oh, really, ak? then maybe it doesn't rhyme with broke.... sorry.
You flipped your hair at me, Mama . . . . I was so hurt . . .
Torgone: faux pas alert!
I only flipped my hair at you after you said you were ignoring me.......
Mama: faux pas alert!
scuse me?
If there's one thing I can do it's faux pas . . . Sorry, Mama. I was just kidding . .
Struggling on the ri's! (5/12, both 7/32s, 6/18) any help? I'm really close to finishing my first puzzle!
faux pas..... isn't that a fake dog foot? I was only kidding too Torgone!!!! Love ya babe!
Sorry. My alerts both came after you each responded to the other. Good thing I'm not in charge of the Bat Signal.
No worries, mab.
Yes, mama, that's exactly what it is: oog paws.
Torgone, mama, will you manwoman the bat signal?
the ri 7's are the same except for the last letter - are musical terms with an Italian twang..... start with ri* (to tear) + third vowel + second vowel + plus the joint in the middle of your leg minus the k + one of the double vowel + the third vowel for one 7 and the fourth vowel for the second 7 - whew!
oops, / betw man/woman
Torgone!!!!! *mamabear grabs Torgone's arm......* off to the batcave!!!!!!
I've just been informed I have to get off the computer . . . Maybe bbl. Later, you wacky kids . .

Hi Everyone! who needs clues? I finished before I went to bed this AM so I am just here to help and say Hi!
Hi GW!!!! Love your socks!!!!!
Fabulous, realityfan! especially fervent applause to you!!!
yw realityfan!!!!
Hi Mama! (*Hug*) And a good evening to you, mab! (*hug*) Congrats on finishing, realityfan!
does anyone know the theme for tomorrow?
*hugs back, GW* am going to bed soon.... glad I didn't miss ya!
same here, Mama :) How are you feeling today?
Still not over this darn thing. Still coughing and such. Am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after being off for a week and a half......
mab.... GW.... you guys know the theme for tomorrow?
I hear you, Mama -- it's never easy going back to work after a break, involuntary or not. But you will do better for getting back out of the house. The return to a routine, even the work routine, does help to speed recovery :)
not sure there is a theme tomorrow, Mama -- There is a theme thread in the Other Interests section of the ezboard now, but with Babbler being still away on holiday, the themes have been fairly limited
I spose you are right. Oh, btw, GW, I heard from my contact in Long Island.... seems they want me to come out there to interview... sposed to hear from him this week. The whole thing is very nerve wracking.
Mama -- anything new and potentially life altering is nerve wracking :) Just remember -- you have been through the most nerve wracking life altering experience there is -- you have brought new life into the world! Anything after that is secondary ;D

That is true, GW!!!!! And I have always said that life is too short to take it too seriously!!!! I am taking it one day at a time...
BTW, I found another reason to look at the rankings -- it is kind of cool seeing how many names are turning green as more and more players are turning Pro ;)

ren, yes I believe so. My contact person is someone who used to work with me here and then left to go there. But it would be to meet with him and his manager.

I love music so much... I envy anyone who can make a living at it!!!!
Mama -- that's where I used work -- it is in Nassau County which is closer to NY on the Island than where I used to actually live which was in Suffolk county - farther to the east -- If I am giving you info you already know, I apologise ;)
Mama, who said i was making a living at it? i WISH i could live off my music...<sigh>...it's just a sideline right now
No you are not, GW!!! I know nothing of the area or counties. I have never been there in my life!!!! I appreciate your input!
evening all...only on for a moment... could someone clarify for me exactly what tomorrows icon theme is supposed to be? "new romantic 80s pop stars" ??
Oh, sorry, mark, but at least you can sideline it!!!! I envy that too!!!!
yes evanadine.... 8) how are you?
evening evanadine!!!! I believe that theme is correct!
lol.....SOME day i'll make a living doing it...i've only just released my FIRST album...give me some time...

mark - congrats on your musical success so far -- I wish you nothing but to continue climbing so that it can become your primary focus :)
mark - which genre do you play on hte side line?
You have the ambition and desire, mark, I'm sure you will some day!!!!
Congratulations markbowers! Go with the flow, Mama. You never know, this could be just the thing. Hi Rennie. I'm sick over Israel (I'm always sick over Israel).

i have an instrumental CD out (think George Winston-ish plus some Enya-ish stuff) that is just me doing piano, some keyboards, and my sister playing flute on 3 tracks...but it's a full-length CD -- "One Day"
i think its the "new" thats throwing me off... is it just romantic pop icons from the 80s?
mark - I will give you some time... I am a patient person..... *mamabear taps foot*

I watched it a couple of times before I had to quit TV. It's very well written -- great dialogue, intriguing story line. Unusual.
thx Grey...i understand the feeling...i'm job-hunting right now...
lots of us in the pursuit of new jobs!!!!! must be a new year thing!!!!
ii've never seen housewives....
mab - why did you have to quit tv?
Mama: It is like Peyton Place of the 60's. Loose women and men in one neighborhood running around with each other's husbands and wives. Great Show. Oooops, I mean it is just a "terrible show" *wink*.
OH! I remember Peyton Place!!!!!
oh, mama, just finances; can't afford it just now.
gotcha, mab!!!! I understand...... you're not missing much. I hardly ever watch TV.
If I could just subscribe to the 8 or 10 channels that I like to watch and dump the rest I would be a very happy person
Well all, I think I better be off to bed..... gotta get up too early tomorrow. Thanks for the company!!!! Sleep well all and sweet dreeemmmmzzzzzzz *hugs to everyone* *kiss on cheek, GW*

Enjoy, JoJo!
Thx all and **HUGS** to all.
Just monkey-typed the three so7's. Rather odd bunch of words, wouldn't you say? Like a magician inside a can of fish with a dinosaur?
any clues for the ei word?
Speaking of dinosaurs, is there anyone out there who can give me a clue for the pt word? I tried it earlier, assuming it's something prehistoric, but can't seem to find it.
ei5 -- the name of the game company that brought us Tomb Raider -- add 2 in Spanish
ei plus ** re mi fa... plus curvy letter.
nite all...i'm numbered and lettered out...8O
G'Nite, Ren -- see you tomorrow (*Hug*)
Any clues for pe 6 that is not the thing at the end of a sentence? I'm so weary.
got the ei! thanks!
Can you not work so hard, Ren? Night.
mab -- same 1st three letters + to perish
mab - Thanks for the pe 6 clue. Didn't have that one :)
GW, that thar was a right good cloo. Thanks.
Hi all! Puzzle going well... I can give clues
pt 6?
Thanks mab -- it was my last word this AM so I can't take credit for the clue, but it worked for me so I pass it on to you :)
I'm chuffed. Later.
pt + popular irish girls name starting with e
pt6 - pt + girl's name associated with Ireland
Thank you. ri 6/18?
harpjane - pt clue: any of various compounds that contain the bicyclic ring system characteristic of pt... If I spell out the last word, it'll give the pt word away. But the def. should help you.
i'm chuffed, 2, buddeeeh
Harpjane, American actor that died this year...John Ri.... He was in Three's Company.
threes company John Ri**** who died recently
ri6 -- last name of actor who portrayed Jack Tripper on Three's Company

qu5 -- weird
qu5: the start of a french cheese
Thanks GreyWoulf...guess that one was so easy that I couldn't see it.
Mama -- come here -- Kirsten will rub it and make the pain go away (she is a masseuse, after all)
what is the theme for the next puzzle??
oh GW..... you are a lucky man!!!!!!
romantic 80's pop stars.... but i reverted to my beloved bears
romantic!? what was romantic about the 80's??
Mama -- not recently -- the pregnancy has her so tired she hasn't had the energy to give a proper massage :( But the payoff is worth the wait! ;D
So Mama -- did you actually try to go to sleep and get the cramp or have you been lurking about?
it's nearly over for her..... i know the last few weeks are the hardest.... I remember it well. Give her a hug for me!
not lurking.... but wasn't sleeping... and coudn't lay still so got up to do my nails and am waitig for them to dry and for pain to subside
Will do, Mama! And once you are settled in Long Island, we can arrange a meet and she can give your back a going over as well!
mrp - i had all 3 of my children in the 80's so there were at least 3 romantic times!!! LOL
Settled in LI? You're way ahead of me!!!! LOL
Anyway, I have to go -- my head is trying to split in half from yawning -- will relay the hug right now and see everyone tomorrow :) (*HUGS for all *) G'Nite all!
Just thinking positive, Mama :D
g'nite sweetie!
thanks GW.... *wink*
The last fr 4?
fr4- sounds like to toss something
Okay, I am ready for tomorrow...finally got my icon changed.
fe6?
Kinda of like a popular 70's hairdo, but without the 'a' at the beginning, and add an 'e' at the end. It also means - A cleaving tool having a heavy blade set at right angles to the handle.
Sounds like a description of a cat with a different middle consonant.
Last two. er 5/12 & 6/21?
What the rain does to the terrain.
aha! and TA DAAAAAH! Thank you all very much!
harpjane gets *~*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~* ~*~*
lshultt - fe6 - Untamed; feral
*refresh* I don't know my decades very well. Am I in the right one?
Harpjane, I am thinking that you and Mrpresident are sexually confused...?
I did really like Boy George though.
Well, that was the 80's for you.
The popular hairdo that I'm refering to, is most popular within the African-American population. Really high, and really round. Take the 'a' off, and add an 'e'. Does that help?
Yeah, it was a wacky looking time.
how is that?
JW, I am not sexually confused... just didn't find the 80's movies romantic... at all! BTW, I looked awesome in my electric blue shoulder padded wraparound dress with matching stilettoes and ultra tight perm!! (Don't forget the handbag!)
and electric blue mascara!!
pr 5/12 Please!!!!!!!!!
pr + electric charged atom
romantic 80's pop stars -- isn't that referring to music, not movies?
ok nan... will go look for an icon
