Well, Debs -- that's merely a tribute to your skill! (*Hug*)

I should have known! :( First time I've gotten so many words so fast! And it no-noed same good, real words! Think they prefer the unknown.....
Hey Mom -- I picked my icon just for you!
I didn't realise what it was til I squinted. Thanks. Theres a 10 letter word in there?
yeah, owl, it starts with re. think to use an iron again (past tense)
Yep -- Debs gave a clue for it at 12:32
(that's a good idea, hers was better)
Tho Leslie's clue is a good'un too :)
Got it! Thanks Leslie Ann
Only been on a little while. Didn't read it all. Thought it was going to be easy......
It ALWAYS seems like it is going to be easy ;)
D8/55
yeah, owl, speaking of words it won't take: like camo. that's a word. and mosh.
hey sprite i hate these k words!
Got camo - Thanks for mosh. Seems like most of the on-line games take abbreviations! Not used to that!
well, 1 o'clock is my bedtime. g'night all.
G'Nite Leslie (*Hug*)
Can't belive there's a y word. Oh well - I'm leaving again. Tired, aching and need to lay down. See ya all tomorrow. Night.
G'Night, Mom! (*BIG HUG*)
hootowl: think of a very attractive gentleman - you may call him Don. Then you are close.
Thanks sprite -- forgot about that one!
Woulf - is hootowl your mother? That is wonderful! :D
Yes she is! I got her hooked with the lure of getting to talk to me on a much more regular basis than we have been ;D
:D Nice to have both of you here.
hi all
Hi CJ!
Hi CJ!
how is everyone
Doing pretty good :) How about yourself?
doing better now that i'm getting over the flu
Great clue for the y word, sprite!
You too? -- sorry to hear that --- it's been getting a lot of folks this time around (*Hug*)
hail and hello back again until the dizziness takes over again...
Hi Blaze!
(*Hug*)
ty GW everyone where i work had it except for our boss
hello gw how is the family ?
Hi Blaze! What's with the dizziness?
Everything is proceeding nicely, Blaze -- and all are well, though it seems like we are trying to get sick like everyone else :) I blame this odd weather we have been having
Hello, Blaze..
My question exactly.... I have some sort of inner ear problem... the Dr today gaze me some tablets... they are for something called meniers's disease..... Time will tell it is all treatable... etc.... My brain thinks I am on a ship or something and I walk like I.m drunk,,,,,
Hi Nan... has the rain stopped up your way yet ??
Oh Blaze, my mom had that... Hi everyone
I am so sorry to hear that. Sounds terrible, being dizzy all the time :(
That sounds very disconcerting, Blaze -- hopefully it will resolve soon :)
hi bean, sprite, and all on chat
Hi spatial :)
Is there a way I can email you to tell you what helped her? It took a lot of trial and error.
Hey bean -- how was the movie?
Not finished, another friend came on to chat. I think it's sucky tho.
it has gotten me out of dishes, house work...etc... and I need to keep babble low key for ow...
bean you can email me through bab anon......
ok
I really hope it will prove to be treatable, Blaze. Not for the dishes or the housework, but for the rest of your life ;) AND for babble, of course. ((((Blaze))))
I am assured it is treatable... and may even be caused by one of my blood pressure medications... time will tell...for now I am okay... just not to much moving around and NO driving.
Yes, take real good care of yourself! Dizziness is a risky thing.
I am taking good care of myself.... the last thing I want is to fall... it would make the commercial "I've fallen and can't get up" a live show in my house.
ok emailed ~:o)
Hunting Cs brought me what might be one of Griffs favorite stupidhead words. C5/16, Plate armor worn to protect the front of the thigh, alt. spelling.
ok going to go try a few more minutes of this movie before I crash for the night. big hugs to everyone. nite nite
Toby my cat wants me to say "nite nite" for him too. He's pulling on my arm.
Nighty night, Bean -- sorry the movie wasn't that great :) (*Hug*)
Night spatial :) Lol Blaze... no, no live commercials in your home, please!
Nity-nite Toby!
Mrrrroowr, Toby
help with the D8 and the I8, please?
Wow, I wish I had gotten here sooner. I think.
sorry Gw I do not have either one of those nor many others...LOL
Hi Griff! (*hug*)
((griff))
To think I was out stabbing cats (relax, it was to deliver sub-q fluids to the poor ancient beast) and drinking beer when I could have been here getting mired in a worthy grid.
You have quite the life up there Griff....
Hey, it's winter. It's dark and it's single digits. We make our own fun.
Hi Griffs! *hug* I was just talking about you (1.31 am)
D8: worshipping two gods. i8: equally hot everywhere
Hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmm. I must go anon and find this stupidhead word!
And I don't understand why CARKY isn't a word. I use it every morning to start my Toyota.
Thank you sprite!
I know, Griffs. Just like doorky. Sooooo stupid!
Picked up on the d8 right away, still haven't found the I...
Real def is A line drawn on a weather map or chart linking all points of equal or constant temperature. Or you could think of putting your warm underwear somewhere where it would be very lonely.
...and I've exhausted my meager knowledge of armor (actually I do know two pieces of armor that would start with a C, but...)
Oh oh oh oh - I know that one (the line def) - Thanks!
ok finally got that one sprite do you have any other def for D8?
For the stupidhead C: take your C4/7. Lose last two letters. Replace them with an ending that means it is a little bit like it, but not completely. Then admit it IS a stupidhead word :)
thank you... fianally have the 8's
cj --Belief that there is no governing force in the universe is called a****** --- substitute a di for the a
Okay, that IS a stupidhead word
CJ: start with your first T6/24, the godlike one. Then add prefix meaning two.
:D Griffs
good nite to all see you in the morning....
bye bye Blaze!
G'Night Blaze -- Sleep Well -- (*Hug*)
good night Blaze
ptang! got the 10
Bye Blaze!
How about a hint for the 1st th7/36?

sm words are sm*** .... give me the money!!!
BTW... any hint for the so5/12 I CANT SEE!!! (adjusting glasses)
Okay, we are aiming for 248 words, 4.88 average length, 3280 points today. A few stupidhead words, but also some very nice ones. Woulf: antidote to snakebites.

Good morning, doxy

Congratulations! Details?

such a pretty name! you may be tired but i bet you're still grinning ear to ear!
I don't go back to work til Sunday, yippee.

ai 7/36 - where you would put a plane for the night?
dont worry got them both
thanks haz :)
any hints for the other Th7?
First four letters are the same then two vowels and a c
thanks haz!
Apparently it's an antidote against snake bites. No wonder I had never heard of it!
isnt the first Th (the container one) a brand name??
Any clues for the second ar 5/10?
Dictionary says it was originally.
thought so...its become one of those brand names like Kleenex, Jello, or Hoover that has transcended a brand name and has been substituted for the product name...heh
Mia - the second ar 5/10 is the past tense of the first
of course it is! couldn't see it for looking.
oooeoo branding. i did an advertising degree so this kind of this is close to my heart
its like the greatest thing ever for a brand to become inseparable from a product, isnt it?
i read somewhere that Chiquita wasnt originally the name of the company...but when they came out with the Chiquita Banana character, it because so well-known, that whatever the name was got changed since people knew Chiquita
pretty much. altho brand loyalty plays a rather large part in marketing as well. just because people call all vacuum cleaners 'hoovers', doesn't mean they'll actually think of hoover when they go out and buy one anymore.
true, good point!
like all tissue isn't kleenex
its interesting that really only in the US tissues are kleenex. Here, in the UK, I think they are generally still tissues
yeah, and vaccuum cleaners are really only called Hoovers over in the UK
right
it is kinda interesting to see what catches on in different areas... like in the midwest part of the US, lots of people call all kinds of soda Coke, even if its not cola or Coke brand...
and in the UK lots of people who now have Dyson vacuum cleaners just them just Dysons "I got a new Dyson today" - hoovers have a name rival!
ive got a Bissell...hehe
We've got a dyson, heh. dyson was a really phenomenal story actually, because he funded it all himself. hoover and the like didn't believe his type of hoover would take off when he approached them so he made it on his own and then a couple of years later hoover etc jumped on the bandwagon
omg that's fantastic - changing subject completely - just watching the news, scientists in the far east have bred luminescent pigs that glow in the dark!
(we've got a Henry!)
And what would be the point of a pig glowing in the dark??? Did they explain?
no lol. they didn't. but the pigs looked wayyyyy cool!
It's to do with stem cell research. They were created using jellyfish genes.
oh - here we go: http://www.sky.com/skynews/art icle/0,,30000-13492613,00.html
hi all
Hi, Bubbles, Hi, Everyone else too, Been here about 1/2 hour and typing words in at a fast pace, Have over 100 so far
hi periwinkle
any clues on the di 8?
yay breakfast!!
It's means to believe in two gods. di8/55
haz -- you are on a roll today! ill just call you butter! ;)
I'm still ploughing through myself - just happen to have the early ones done.
ahhh...youre one of those people with a plan when you babble, eh? i just type whatever i can find...then when i slow down, i try to find the biggies and work my way down...heh
I tend to get as many as I can myself, then work though BJ's list. It gets tedious scrolling up and down, though!
Lunch time!
definitely does! i dont bother with the list unless i think i actually have a chance of finishing... i used to only play if i thought i could finish + then id work til i passed out on it! now i just like to play, finish or not...but when i get close, i get pretty driven!
can't figure that two gods clue, google isn't helping much!
I always start at the end of the alphabet and work upwards. Can't be bothered with having to keep scrolling down. So I am only just about to start of the r's.
does the er 7 learn from the er 5 or is it separate?
separate - think problems with overfarming...it leads to er*****
ah, thanks :)
actually it learns from it I guess :-)
108 words to find, blimey. nice to have a puzzle to get your teeth into tho :)
clue for last to4/5 pleae
to+be silent
a load of rubbish. and whoop, just found the ten, on my own! hehe
any clues for the 10, mia? 111 left to find here
thank you both, I know that word, just couldn't see it
re + one of the 8s. the 8 is a sm, meaning to make flatter, past tense.
of course....duh....thanks mia down to 104 left to find
so far got the Sm8 and the Di8 -- any hints on the others?
got the 2 sm8s?
evanadine, may I have a clue for the di8 please
there is an re/8 evanadine that builds on the base of the sm/8
doh! forgot the other ending...got em both now Une!
nevermind, I see a log earlier in the log, I will look for it
Di8 -- believing in 2 gods Di + th6
thanks, gobraves!
and thanks, eva!
youd think i would "get it" with all the prefixes and suffixes...but when i see a word with one of them, its just not clicking to try the others...heh
evanadine, found the di8, thanks
eva, do you have the is8 that includes th5/14?
morning everyone! is there a theme today?
efor -- favorite superheros!
There are 3 x sm8 that all build from the same sm6 and there is an is8/50
love that one une - thanks
une -- dont have it yet...dont have the Th5 apparently either...heh
cool. thanks! now i just have to figure out who that is.
got both of them now though. :)
can't figure out the i8/50- clues please
the th5 is the word that begins the name of the common tool we use to measure temperature
i8/50 def: A line drawn on a weather map or chart linking all points of equal or constant temperature
peri -- theres a Th7 that is a container you put liquids in to keep them hot or cold. knock off the last 2 letters for the Th5. then add is + another vowel before that to get the is8
sorry FMitch, didn't get it from your clue, but thanks anyway, evanadine, got it with yours , thanks
no probs peri, glad you got it anyway.
can you guys help me find my last 8? i have: di8 55 is8 50 re8 50 sm8 55 sm8 50

Thanx grant! Had a phone call and just got off and found your clue. I really appreciate it. Now on to the rest..... UGH!!!
Happy Superhero Day! "This is a story about an ordinary teddy-bear. When he was made, they found something wrong with him, and threw him away like a piece of rubbish into an old dark storeroom. Then from outer-space, a spotty man bought him back to life with his cosmic dust. He took him to a magic cloud where Mother Nature gave him special powers. That bear became Super Ted!" After being granted his powers (which he activated by whispering a magic word to himself), Super Ted defended the Earth ably assisted by his alien friend Spotty, while fighting various evil plots hatched by the cowboy supervillain Texas Pete, and his two incompetant sidekicks Bulk (a strong, fat and extremely dim man) and Skeleton (a somewhat fey living/undead skeleton). When not battling them or other forces of evil, Ted and Spotty spent their time either in their tree-house home or up on an orbiting space station. In case anyone wanted to know!!!!!!
Mamabear.....FUNNY, odd but funny! :-P
Very cute Mamabear, so what is the magic word he whispers?
DONE...anyone need a clue?
Need/want lots of them....How long are you staying? :-)

he 5/12 brown tattoo that lasts for about 2 weeks
no, nvm, it suddenly hit me
Morning. Yes, I just got out of bed. My kids spent the night with their Aunt and now I am free to babble all down after twelve unecessary hours of sleep! I'm glad it's a loaded board and not one of the 120 word ones.
Morning Bunny, wow 12 hours of sleep, please tell what that was like....(averages 5 or 6 a night)
Absolutely wonderful! (except my body is sore, my eyes hurt, and I barely made it to the bathroom!).
LOL
Hi, hurshy, glad today is a better one for you Hi Everyone!
Morning.
need help with first wto ar words please: ar4/4 and ar5/10
ar 4/4 - add s to 2nd person singular present tense of 'to be' ar5/10 - get up!
thanks, peri, you're so sweet!
Haz, thanks so much, two words I just didn't see At least the A words are done, lots more to find though
rather than click the ?, i'll ask you guys if sh7 is just an alternate spelling of a ch7 word (not in puzzle)
I'm ploughing through the r s and t words. Took an extended break this afternoon to take the dog out. Result - a happy dog in need of a bath!
Hello all

Same here.
and here.
so5/14 - Biblical place of punishment - think of Lot
easy, but how is that not a proper noun? i realize we have other words built off it that aren't proper (add y, or make it a verb, but...)
anyway, thanks haz! that was my last one!
well done - I keep going....
how many have you left, haz?
And me too.....Going and going and going.....This puzzle is neverending. I'm still needing 55 words.
ai 7/36? Pleeeease...
36 words left to find - all r s and t.
A hint from the new kid on the block. Anyone get the container you put hot coffee in? :)
bunny - where you'd park your plane at night.
ai7 = what you breathe + small building where you keep garden tools

Abbigail Mariella, arrived at 12:16 am, weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces and 18 inches long.
congrats doxy!!!!!
bunny, I was having that problem last night when I was using dial-up.
That is a BEAUTIFUL name!
beautiful :D
Congrats Doxy, how exciting that is. I can't wait for grandchildren!
I spent 19 1/2 hours at the hospital though. She came in just as I was finishing my shift.
Congrats Doxy :D
so far it is great. but it's only been 10 hours.
HURRAY! Congrats Doxy :) That's wonderful news!
Your young to be a gma Schro, my mom was pretty angry when I made her a gma at 35...
Doxy - baby healthy and doing well? How is mama feelin?
thank you everyone. this has been a long week. We are so thrilled, and I wanted to let you all know 'cause I consider you all friends.
it was a short labor, gratefully. Mom and baby are doing great.
I would like to be a grandma young so I can enjoy them. My stepson is 32 so I'm thinking anytime, but I guess he needs a girl first.......lol
yeah schroder, that usually helps. :D
*must find girl for son*
That would help!
schro- put an advertisement in babb anon for a daughter-in-law!
schro, find one for my son while you are looking, OK?
Okay, now looking for 2 girls.....
can't find the or4/5 and or 4/4 or the os5/10
Peri- Hi. os5/10 is a type of willow.
Sorry, my oldest is nine. She's not allowed to date til she's thirty.
lol bunny
ooooo nice hero, jacula!
Jacula - is that the guy from North Shore??
or4/5 - killer whale
hi jacula
hi schroeder
LOL bunny, that's what I tell my 14 yr old daughter....
KristinaRose - He may have been in that. It's Jason Momoa who plays Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis.
thanks, jacula, now need or4/4, just can't see it
Kenth, how are you? Haven't seen you in awhile..
Hi Doxy. Made that stew yet?
I LOVE that guy!!
nope, been too busy making baby stuff or being sick. I have a few days now, might try it.
found the or4/ Thought I had typed it in already
Smaller - re my hero. Yes, the girls were fighting over him last night on here. LOL. There were also many 'lei' jokes, since he's Hawaiian.:)
i have ben sick
just heading back to the Batcave for some food... later :)
I'm glad you are feeling better Kenth and are back to babbilng :)
Bye sherb.
See ya Sherb..
yes
see you later sherb
ttfn, Sherb.
Schro- I have 2 words!
i'm stil a little sick
still
Smaller, I'm swooning..... Kenth, did you have the flu?
smaller, pace yourself and don't overdo it now ... :D
no the cold
It's going around pretty bad here, both the little ones were down for a week. I've had it off and on, like it won't completely go away, so has Eycsis. As long as Stephen doesn't get it, he's worse than all five put together when he's sick!
7!!! but I may cramp
I know what you mean bunny, I have 4 employees out with it and my Dad was hospitalized this morning because he has been sick for 3+ weeks.
I can't get my kids to the doctor because there are no appnts. available. Why they can't just call an antibiotic in....
Your father isn't serious is it? He'll be ok?
It hit him pretty hard in his chest his wife said he had to stop 3 times on the walk to the car. I am going to go down and see him tonight. He has COPD so that make is worse.
Oh no, I'm sorry. I hope he recooperate's quickly.
Thanks, me too....the doctors said that they are going to pump him full of steroids and antibiotics and that's the most they can do.
best of wishes to you and your family schro.
shro - so sorry about your dad...
Hello to all in the babble world.
hi daddy, love your icon
Shro - Sorry about your Dad.x
only got a minute, but, um, wow, jac. i don't know if we can handle that. :)
Thanks everyone...he has been in an out so many times recently my cars can drive itself the 200 miles....
SHHH! Handling just fine. :)
oh, i'm sorry schro. what is COPD?
Hi Daddy! Schro- I'm so sorry too!
lol bunny!!! isn't COPD something about not intaking oxygen efficiently? like oxygen becomes toxic.
It's chronic obstructive lung disease. Basically he only has about 15% lung capacity left. He smoked/smokes 2-3 packes a day for most of his life.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
wow. i'm sorry schro. and i am definitely going to mention this to the kid i've sort of "adopted", who dabbles in smoking.
Smoked or smokes? He quit didn't he? My grandmother is on oxygen and still puffing away. I hate it, one of the major reasons I'm quitting.
Thanks Atalante for the correction, my fingers and brain working together today well.....
my dad quit after his emphysema got bad. didn't help, still died of lung cancer
bunny, how long have you smoked? how are you trying to quit? and i highly endorse your icon, btw.
Hursh, nip it in the bud while he/she is just dabbling! So HARD to put down after dabbling phase turns to addicted...
i know. i'm doing my best, but he has zero willpower. when someone offers him a cigarette it is so hard for him to say no.
Bunny it amazes me, he is in the hospital on oxygen and trying to figure out how to escape in order to have a cigarette!!! His wife said no more this morning, I told her she has to stick to it...
I have smoked for 14 yrs., started at 13. Been 13 days without a cig, just threw them out New Year's Eve. When I get really, really bad, I use and Ariva or Stonewall. They are little nicotine tablets you use like dip, minty. Only use one every other day though....
the trouble is, i don't think students here are allowed to use any sort of quitting gum or patches or anything.
I heard someone telling me about a perscription that makes you ill if you smoke... don't know what it was though. I tell you, I wouldn't want to smoke if it upset my tummy. Don't know it to be true though....
speaking of students, i have to go teach class. thanks for the scary anecdotes, all.
*Jac smacks own fingers and tells self to STOP repeatedly typing 'dosh', 'moosh', 'mosh' and 'mosher' in. They are NOT going to be accepted, even if she types them 20 times!*
I imagine I will be doing a lot of marriage counseling in the next months if she does try to make him stop, but it will be worth it.
bye hurshy
Jacula... !!! No keep trying!! EVENTUALLY Dr. God will get the hint! That's my philosophy anyway!
LOL. It's hard, especially when he's been doing it for so long. Why they even make such a product is beyond me. Money, money, money.
Here we go with the "cute" words again...lol.
Bunny.... just read your great bio!!!! so are you "bunnyvicious" b/c you were multiplying like rabbits?
And why isn't 'moreish' a word??
LOL!! No, Sahera, my middle one, used to be baby vicious. It was kind of a Dr. Jeckle game. Baby vicious vs. Sweetie. She'd attack me with her little sidekick, bunnyvicious. Thought it was too cute.
LOL bunny! My cutsey pet name for my 2 year old when he's being....2 is Demon Dwarf
Sniff, now she's two "Gwown Ups", first grade'll do that to ya. So, I'm living in the past.
My son was known as 'Baby Grumpling' when he was little. It's a character from 'The Perishers' comic strip.
LMAO! That's great, I love it! I picture little red eyes afire. I'm getting a list going of baby nick names now...cute!
Jacula, how old is he now? terrible two's are over at the 3 year birthday, right? RIGHT??!
bunny and jacula, please just lie to me if have to about that 3 year birthday
smaller, only if you are really lucky
I always thought three was worse than two....
Sure they are Smaller..... I always said my daughter started PMSing at 6 months and hasn't stopped...
LOL
groans....I have four girls and they will all be teenagers at once...
shhh bunny! schroe - boys have pms right? RIGHT??
smaller, my son got moody about 4th grade for about a year, then he was fine. it's the girls you have to watch out for.
I dunno, Dreyvin's been pouting for two years, might just be because he's surrounded by girls though.
Poor bunny, poor poor bunny....
lol all. no, actually I'm crying
I had three boys and one girl, and she was more trouble than all three boys put together. I don't mean that she was BAD, but her Father always said she was a female from the moment she was born!
Smaller when they turn 18 and move out you won't remember any of the bad stuff....by then it turns into funny stories you can tell and torture them in front of dates....
Sometimes, but if life isn't hectic, it isn't any fun!
Smaller - My son's 21 now (22 this May). He's a 'grumpy young man' and proud of it. LOL. My daughter's 19 in March - She was a very sweet, biddable child but now she's like the girls in that old Maurice Chevalier song, 'Thank Heavens for Little Girls' from 'Gigi' ... the line that goes, '...Those little eyes so helpless and appealing one day will flash and send you crashin' thru the ceilin' '.:-(
LOL, my mom and dad pulled out pictures of little me sitting on the toilet and asleep with the dog's butt in my face. I'm already amassing blackmail of my own.
Schro - 'When they turn 18 and MOVE OUT?' Type that a bit louder so my two can hear you.:-)
bunny, LOL. I can picture that one as very cute and very blackmailable.
LOL! ok, nope still crying. but it could be the lack of sleep. or that I only have 35 words
They're supposed to move out when they turn 18 - need to tell that to my three 21, 23, & 25
I'm going to have to bail out for now, folks. Got people and animals to feed. I'll come back to find my last 30 words later. Toodle pip!
my last one leaves this spring (getting married) and she is 19. Empty nest, here I come.
and smaller just let him make some decisions and you'll find that 3s are wonderful
My nine year old wants to wear light makeup, some of the other girls are too. I think she's too young, but it's a different generation.
bye jac.
Okay confession time, no they don't move out when they are 18, still waiting for one to leave permanently at 31+ (sobs quietly)
Jacula... feed them the same thing and hurry back! Doll... oooo pretty!
*passing tissue box to shro*
Ahhh, doxy. I'm dreading that. Have you tried grounding her?
hi gals, my daughter's are grown up and they're wonderful, but then my memory's not what it was!
bunny, I agree with you. Keep to your standards.
LOL smaller, who said doggie bisc were bad for you?
too late for grounding. I had one get married at 18, one at 21, and now 19. They were all older than me, though.
See Smaller, listen to ferrari, when they leave you don't rememeber the bad stuff (locks door and changes phone number)
bunny, exactly! lots o'protein!
finally got round to doing an icon, unfortunately the blue ferrari's on it's side
Schro and ferr- I think that's a psychological term called "blocking".
I was wondering about that ferrari, that's okay cause we are all a little sideways....lol
Hi jac, are ye ok?
I hope that for mine too. It's nice to be young and have children. You have the energy too keep up, just not the money. But there is to young... I want mine educated and well on their way to a good job before having kids, but my parents said the same thing, and I was married at 16.
No Smaller, it's actually that by the time they move out your brain is destroyed from lack of sleep for 18+ years of stress and worry.....lol
any clues on cu5 & it5? plz & ty!
not going to uni isn't the end of the world, my daughter's got herself qualified without(so much) debt, she doesn't do poor very well
cu 5 - add another ending to the other cu's meaning like
efor think hi*** and thi****
LOL schroe! Bunny.. the quality time that they spend with you b/c you're young will mean more than designer jeans that you'd hand them while balancing the other hand on your cane.
got 'em. thanks ferrari & bunny! :)
I think so, but my nine year old would argue. She refuses to wear clothes from Wal-Mart because they are from Wal-Mart. At first, I sewed tags into her off-brands. Now I tell her to wear it or go naked. Darn peer pressure.
bunny... yeah I remember that phase of my own youth. that's a toughie b/c you swear you are going to die if you don't have the right thing. shoot. maybe we could start a babble fund for girls to battle mean girls in school
you cruel mother bunny, only joking tell them it's cool to be different, they all want to be so different but they really want to look the same but can't see it
Am going to see baby and run some errands. Will be back later. Happy babbling to all.
Bye doxy.
hurray for school uniforms
doxy.. give abbigail a big hug from all of us!
She is having a time with a bully, she so wants to be her friend too! I've talked to teacher's, her mom (didn't go anywhere, she said girls will be girls). This girl calls my daughter a pig, trips her, sicks all the others on her. Sigh, running out of options.
Bye Doxy LOL bunny, by 14 year old says the samething about walmart clothes.
Thinking of going to school with Ice one day and exacting revenge....petty.
I LOVE Wal-Mart, more for your money. Second home. I can get the twins and outfit apiece for a total of $10. How do you beat that?
got mummy and baby polar bears now, much better
don't know how you deal with bullies, strong eye contact perhapsI don't know, why do bullies always find their mark?
bunny do you mean iceboysf?
Since the parent and the staff will not help, I told my daughter to punch her in the nose (let the beratings begin). I told her she will get in trouble, but that will be the end of it. Bullies like easy prey. I can't let this continue for years and years. Even if the staff interveined, they couldn't monitor the situation all day every day....so...
Ice is my daughter, her name is Eycsis (Isis).
sorry bunny, nice name
Greek godess of fertility (or buds blow up doll on Married With Children, didn't know til AFTER).
Bunny when my daughter was younger she was picked on for being small. One day a boy kept telling her to punch him as hard as she could to prove how weak she was....she finally did in the stomach, knock the wind out of him and he peed his pants....
Good for her, did she have any more trouble from him?
serves him right
No more problems from anyone, the school was good about it to since the boy had been egging her on all day. She may be small but she's a strong one...
Anyone get the de5/14 meaning skin
Hi all :) Bunny - we had a story today in Detroit where the mom of a girl stabbed 2 other girls that her daughter was fighting with in school.... Hopefully you'll find a good way out of it for your daughter. Bullying stinks!!
sushi add a vowel to the one above
guess the answer was yes!
Hi Bugzy, that is so scary. Now that my daughter is in high school fights are scary. She told me the other day 2 girls fought and pulled hair till their scalps were bloody.
That is horrible, great example. Nope, my husband hides the butchers knife from me, and I take my anti-psychotics in a timely matter. She's only a fourth grader...long row to hoe.
It was an awful story... I remember when I was in high school, two girls got in a fight and their families (moms, cousins, etc) all got into it in the parking lot... Nasty.
Makes me glad I have 2 boys... but I guess they can be bullied too :(
I got in my fair share of fights, to opinioated and felt like I had to stick up for everyone. But never anything like that and I'm from a little redneck town!
I'm noticing all my typos and realizing why I haven't finished yet....
they can be bugzy, if fat, clever , wear specs etc, mind you Harry Potter's done some good there
Yeah, my son's only 6 and has aready had a taste of being bullied... I thought it didn't start til later - he's in kindergarten!!
Sometimes I think some children are born bullies, it must be something in their upbringing to be mean that young
it's such a shame, there seems to be so much meanness and nastiness, I hate it
Parents with superiority complexes.
brb, gotta run down the road to the bank
Bye bunny
Bye bunny - and yeah, I think it's the parents sadly that make the bullies a lot of times... :/
the old do as you would be done by is a good motto, think about others, and smile
bye bunny
Hi Babbleland! hmmmm.... 248 words... do I dare begin? Well, it IS a Friday!!!! is it a kind grid?
th 6/24? I don't have either one? And the first th 7/36? I have the one that you put in your lunch box.
Jump in, mama! Wheeeeeee! It's fuuuuuuunnnnn!
th6/24 is the plural of th5/14
Hi mamabear, it's not to bad, atleast what I have done so far.... Hi harp
harpjane, one's a flask, the other is a weird extension of your th4/6
done it again, th7/36 is a flask
What's up with the oo words?? All I have is the 4/5 ... Help!
I entered the "lunchbox additive"... guess I've made my decision!!!! lol
Yeah mamabear, one down 247 left to go...lol
What????? 5 oo words...... should have reviewed this list in more detail....... !
bugzy, they're cells we've had them before, end in same as paro*** gland in neck
missing an no4/4, have the obvious ones also need ne6/21 and ne7/32
found the no4/4
Bugzy, there is a past tense of your o4/5 hi everyone :)
good afternoon Yoink!!!!! how art thou?
Hi Yoink!!
Good thanks Mamabear, all chilled out in that friday way
peri add to your ne4/5
Hi Schro! Looking great, as ever
THanks ferrari and yoink... what silly words!!!
sm words? I'll take any and all clues here.
harp, a word meaning flat, and then the act of flattening, and one who flattens
sm6/24 opposite of rough
Why thank you Yoink, your looking sharp today....
macuser, thanks had not thought of that
you're wlecome, peri
Lol, good one Schro
are all 4 sm's in the same family? I can only find 3
yes, they're all related
Mama, try a different last consonant, it doesn't look right but it is
mambear, yes, which one are you missing?
I meant mamabear :)
yes mamabear, your probably missing the one that ends in the corner
need help for the th7/36 that is not the container
got it. you're right, it doesn't!!!!! gotta go back to work - only 241 left to find!!! LOL Guess I know what I"M doing tonite!!!! (or if I can sneak babble this afternoon) have fun!
also need help with th6/27
Peri, the 6 is the past tense of the th4/6 above it, another that doesn't sound like a real word
peri - th6/27 - past tense of the th4/6 (really!) I need the th7/36 too! :)
I don't have the last th4/6, hint please
Old way of saying 'you'
Bugzy th7/36 is like a flask
Any clue on the word that starts with "Y" :)
Thanks macuser - I have that one, it's the first one that I'm missing :)
bugzy, found the th4 right before I saw your clue, found the th6/27 thanks
Toe, it's like the Spanish version of "John"
Bye mamabear, don't work to hard
need help with th5/14 as well as th7/36 that is not a container
Good afternoon, everyone
Hi cybernan
Hi Cybernan, how are you this Friday
sorry phone rang, th736 is a serpent bit antidote, ends in same letters as card*** meaning heart
peri -- for the th 5, remove the last two letters from the container
th5/14 is the container without the end letters Hi Cybernan :)
great schroeder -- and you?
th5/14, British th***** unit, it's a gas
Hanging in there...
Thanks ferrari ! Done with the t's!!
thanks for the clue for th5, I already had the th6 which is the plural
Thanks ferrari, great clue
yu: rhymes with romantic hero that tilts at windmills -- Don J........
sh7/32, anyone? please and thank you :)
th 6/24 -- the one that follows the posessive pronoun?
looking for that one too, bugsy
how can something be ca** let alone ca**** but moreish isn't allowed!
th 6 - Belief in the existence of a god
th6 belief in the existence of a god or gods
sh 7/32 Sh+vowel + ro 4/4
th6/24 - belief in a deity
there's a th6 that's an ism
Much thanks Schroeder! I hate these long words...
Thank you, all
Must run to the bank, see ya later..
Bye Schro!
Bye Schroeder... get some money for me too! :)
I was wondering why Mork isnt allowed. So I phoned Mindy. Aparently, Morki isnt "allowed" on Friday nights. Sort of a rule. Odd relationship, if you ask me. Anyroad, evening all! ;)
Nanu Nanu, Dachef :)
bye shroeder :)
bye schroe! LOL dachef
I've done, car***(dental decay) first word, car***, a collision the last
ra 6/33, please?
ra6/33 - describes a garden implement or the angle of a jauntily worn hat
ra6/33, been in a few times recently, means having many branches
Yay Ferrari !!
Thank you both
bye bye, unless anyone needs a clue
The last re 5/12?
re5/12 - another gardening one - lay earth down again
harpjane, that means to returf, why resit is'nt a word is amazing, not in todays grid obviously
Thank you!
I've thought that myself Ferrari, resit and resat
I agree that the criteria for what is a 're' word and what isn't, is a little weird...
there are some really strange re words allowed, mind you it's not just re words in babbleverse
They should just make a blanket rule that all verbs can be re'd, though that would lead to babble grids having massive amounts of words...
I changed my icon and it's gone black, but it was supposed to be a ratty, will try again tomorrow, see y'll later
they are already massive as is
massive = above 50 : )
can i have a clue for ka 5 18 and is 8 50 please...
schro - i bet you say that to all the boys! ;)
ka5/18 is aplateau in s africa think marsupial for last 3 letters
ka 5/18 sounds like an Australian marsupial with letters missing
SueL - the ka5 is like an Australian animal, without the 'nga'
The is is a line on a weather map
Hey Smaller, Dachef just called you Schro, you gonna let that pass?
great clue Bugzy!
is8 = is + vowel + th5/14
got it thank you all soo much.
Thanks Lupe - are you loving this warm weather, or what!!
lowering the tone again, Dachef... he he
got the is one also. thank you very very much.
yoink, lol! you'll have to defend my moniker honor though. i'm too busy doing crappily at this grid!
besides, calvin and hobbes do look a lot like tinkerbell sooooooooo similar
Warm in Detroit?
whoops! sorry Smaller! Only saw the icon. This grid has addled my none-too-significant brains.
he 5/12 - following those who are left something in a will?
That's very true, I often get tigers and fairies mixed up
It was nice yesterday - back to nasty rain/snow (mostly snow now) mix. Yesterday I was buried in my office all day, wasn't able to enjoy the 55 degrees! What a tease! Is this stuff heading your way?
sherb - me? Lowering the tone? Never! To be fair, most days its pretty low already!
Yeah, bunny, it was over 50 degrees yesterday (heat wave for this time of year!!!) Today is still warm but rainy :(
Yoink - yeah, one is a creature only ever seen nowadays in books and stories, and the other is a fairy!!!
We were in Novi a few years ago, I didn't know what cold was til then! From Texas though...
cybernan - he5 - red hair dye I went out and played football with the boys last night. So good to be outside!!
lol!
Novi's nice... great shopping center(s). Far away from me, though, I'm on the east side.
yoink, nice fingernails
Smaller... ?
on wolverine. are those acrylic?
Oh, wait, I get you
Yeah, manicures take hours with these things
Thanks bugzy -- guess that tells you that I don't colour my hair!
such a trooper! now i need a clue for ca6/24 the last one
I'm back for more... what a glutton for punishment...
Not by choice, I might add -- it won't take a colour, so I've resigned myself to going grey gracefully!
Smaller, plural of the 5 before it
make your ca5/14 plural
or make your ca 5/12 past tense
oh my stupidity! glaringly obvious that I'm not a good multitasker
Hi Jera!
is 8 -- don't see anything likely which is not all that unlikely!
Me neither C-nan - the one time I tried it it turned out really horrible. I much prefer boring brown to orange- streaky! :)
cybernan is + vowel + th5/14
Thanks, macuser
you're welcome
hey macuser... you went Pro... cool :D
macuser - have you just now gone pro? If so, Congrats!! :)
yes I have and thank you very much :)
Sherb - thank you too :)
cool panda macuser!
Thank you, smaller :)
macuser, maybe add a weeee bit more to your bio. lol! like...say..something
smaller i'm a woman of few words, lol
I live by the motto: it is better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt ;)
i could write your bio for you. that'd be a hoot! unless you were wanting the info to be kind, true and/or necessary
lol macuser!
I don't like big words...
lol, thanks for the offer - if anything strikes me as interesting, i'll update it - stay tuned, heh
I agree bunny, all these 6s and 7s are a pain in the ar4/4!!!

....and I'm done, finally !!! Hey Anj :)
congrats Yoink! Yo Anj. I just found the ai7/36 by accident. You have got to be kidding! Hands up all this who has ever seen a sh4/6 airborne?
hi Anj :)
Does it count if you watch the ashes float away?
Hi Dachef...you obviously haven't flown with Easyjet recently lol!
hello, and good afternoon- everyone.....########
Hey Tim, great icon!
maybe it means an outhouse type of sh4/6 and someone lit a match with all that methane so it became an ai7
Congrats Bugzy! Hi Tim :)
hey Tim :)
lol Smaller
hi kids!!
Ho Boreetos : )
congrats Bugzy! ai7 sounds like a Monty Python sketch.
Hi Boreetos!
Anj, is that Bluntman and Chronic?!
hi Boreetos :)
ayecarumba
sup Yoink!
nice icon Sherb, going old school.
do the bartman!
Thanks! That one was a monster!! And Hi Tim and Boreetos!
Boreetos, none other : D
Hi all I'm back for more fun.
hi bugzy, that's awesome Anj. I too am a fan.
on average - how long does it take you all to complete the entire playbabble? I am a novice and never get more than half way through. What sort of vocabulary do you all have for heavens sake?
m77, I rarely finish, most often about halfway.
Mama77, welcome to the Babbleverse...depends on the grid. This one took me just under 3 hours. Just check out the log for clues, Babblers Anon for the 2nd letter breakdown and www.a2zwordfinder.com for the nasties that you've never heard of : )
hi schro!
Hi Schro!
thanks Boreetos :) ...old school for sure... no Batman has ever come close to Adam West...
mama77 -these words are definately not in common usage! Completion depends on the size of the grid (usually). You can always use www.a2zwordfinder.com if you get stuck - it helps to find those really obscure words. After a while you get to know them!!!!
Hi,kids. Call me unsociable, but I devoted all of my time to obsessively searching for words in this damn puzzle today. Anywhoo, I'm only missing one measley rotten crappy word. It is the 2nd Cr6-24. Any clues?
welcome back Schro :)
its true words like Aeon, Erst, etc. you get used to them. (neither of those are present today though)
Wolverine... that's so hot Yoink... SO HOT!
Thanks Anj & Dachef am on my way to the clues now! Will lete you know if they work!!!!!
Thanks Toes, I have worked on it ;)
Judi, the opposite of debit
Judi - could it be the plural of cr5/14 , or the opposite of debit? LOL, by the way, why don't you tell us how you *really* feel about this grid!!!
Judi, it's ploooooooral : ) ...previous cr5/14...
Toesockmonkey... and aren't his fingernails so pretty!?
((( hugs everyone ))) sorry I missed saying hello to a few of you!
(((((TOES!!!))))) : )
Drat. I have both Cr6-24s. Must be another C-something. Let me tear my hair out and see if I can find it.
smaller - Yes! Fabulous!
I think Dachef called him a fairy earlier. yoink are you going to take that? *please note my attempt at instigating a babble fight*
Aw thank you Anj :) *blushes*
Smaller - will you stop it! Ive already been banished to the attic. ;)
help please with the se5/12
So, who is coming over tonight for my wine tasting!?
Aha! I'm actually missing the 2nd Ca5-12. Now throw those clues. I've got my catcher's mitt on.
smaller is a stirrer, smaller is a stirrer...
Judi, reverse the last 2 letters on your first ca5/12 : )
*raises hand* Me, Toes, let me come!! Judi - anagram of the first ca5/12
still missing the "Y" word :(
add a vowel to the 4/5 above it :)
Count me in Toes! I'm already "tasting" some
I would love to come TSM
hey Sherm, did you notice that your name is in the puzzle today?
Judi, I have cr6 - the opposite of debit, may I have a clue for the other cr6
yoink - AH HA! I knew it.... Wonderful, come over around 6:30-7
wine tasting? ...count me in :D
Bless you, Bugzy! Bless you! I am done. * in process of super-gluing eyes back into head and taking on much needed fluids*
TSM- I love a good wine tasting! I used to work in a hotel, and we had a really pushy salesman come in who wanted us to use his winelist on our menu. So we invited him to come and do a wine tasting in the restaurant. He was pretty miffed by the end cos it was only me and a coupla of other managers and we got completely sloshed!
boridos... do you mean me, lol?
Toes, what time is it for you now? These time differences are hard to work out
um... yeah.... hmmm.... I suck.
oooh Toes, what sort of wine??? : ) The Y word sounds like Y... Me (Us, without the D ) ; )
Have to go get the kiddies - Hugs to everyone !! Bye :)
Periwinkle: Always glad to give back to those that help me: Cr6-24 is a plural of the Cr5-14. Akin to "race, cr_ _ _, or color".
Way to go Judi Bye Bugzy
Bye Bugzy :)
'bye Bugzy
bye bugzy
bye bugz
Fond farewell, Bugz.
yoink - 3:30 here now

bye Boreetos :)
still can't find that cr6/24, the cr I am thinking of is spelled with ee and that is not possible today
take it easy dude : )
Bye boreetos! Have a great weekend.
Anj - you name it I have it! At least I am pretty sure i do... Father sends me wine from Italy when he does and a few other fun locations
I thought with wine tasting, one was supposed to swish and spit (not swallow!). Yeah, RIGHT!
Bye Boreetos Toes, ok, I'll start thinking of what I'm going to wear..
1st cr 6/24 I have way too many cr**** cards with high APR's 2nd cr6/24 plural the one above it
woot! I'm a zinfandel addict when I hit the grape : )
hi kids!!

Sorry Peri, I gave you the wroing cr : / The ca6/33 - is as in what Marie Antoinette wanted to let them eat..only more so : )
I'm doing pretty well, sick family member right now so I'm weak in the brain. How have you been?
Anj, thanks found the ca6/33 . need help with both ca6/24
I was in AZ for work this past week - beautiful sunshine...sorry to hear you have a family member sick...

Oh EasternBlue, I bet it was beautiful, we have had nice weather here in CA, but we are suppose to finally get snow tomorrow!
oops sorry I am at work so I have to run around a lot :)
bunnyvicious, thanks, still need help with ca4/9, second ca5/14 and ca6/24 in that order
It was definitely better than NY...we haven't had sun in weeks!!! I didn't get to see much of it since we were working most of the time, but it still felt nice to walk to/from the hotel w/o a jacket, boots, gloves, etc!
Hi Sherb...didn't 'see' you there...I'm a little jet lagged today!
Ca5-14 is again a plural of the Ca6-24. Means to bounce or rebound.
ca 4/9 - rhymes with a type of bird l*** ca 5/14 ca + your computer has a CD *** ca 6/24 - plural
evenin all!
Yoink - I actually bought a hot little dark red dress just for tonight
Er, I mean the Ca6-24 is a plural of the Ca5-14. Drainbamaged from all this babbling.
I must be missing the needed ca5/14
I actually had used the dress for a runway show I did with my sister in November but had to buy it because I loved it that much lol :)
Hi Evan
just found ca5 and ca6 I needed. still need the ca4/9 though
Happy Friday - 10 minutes till quitting time!

Absolutely, Lupe. May the Dr. Rev. King rest in peace.

Toes! You cad!
I should get some champers just to add to the fun... maybe I will on my way home
weve got a bit of a slow time at work right now...and since monday is a holiday, we had to turn our timecards in early -- yesterday... so the boss had a huge stroke of generosity. :D

i do hurshy
Hurshy - for me both LOL - actually - stress release
oh there's people! :)
i'm not a people - i'm a car....8)
ok ren, well, you see, in england before they had good transportation you could hire chairs carried by people to take you places - like rickshaws, kind of. and polite hosts would call for them for their guests when they were leaving by yelling out "chair-o, chair-o". so this came to be associated with leave-taking and then gradually deteriorated into cheerio.
I'm still here, sorry concentrating on the grid
cars aren't for 2 more days ren!
thanks hurshy! that's interesting....i learned something new today!! this is kit - the super hero car from knight rider...8)

Thanks Jacula!!!!

Paul just found me that last 'ne' word accidentally whilst looking for the io6. I deserve a slap with a frozen fish for not seeing that last 'ne'. Still haven't got the 'io' though.:-(
Okay - the ka's. I've found ka (Bill) the first one. Karaoke isn't in there, so what the heck are the other two??
jac io 6...... the atom + single strange stupidhead word
Hi Blaze. T/y!
You are welcome.... I apologize for seemingly ignoring you on the fleetwood mac.... I was under the weather and have it all sorted on my own... thank you though
Blaze - I mailed you through BabAnon ez board. What was the F/Mac track you wanted?
Ah! You've anticipated my question. Hope you are feeling better now? I still want to know what track it was though.
it was leather and lace...... but I found a cd in my husbands collection and loaded it on my computer...
Thanks, Blaze. It was driving me nuts trying to remember what you'd asked for. Glad you got it. I've got the ka words now, btw.
The ka's are related to S. African plains. I should have got it earlier, because one of my fave sauces to go with chicken is Walnut Ridge Ka*** Farmhouse Style. If you drink Blossom Hill Fruity white with that it really makes the wine ZING!
I'm being really thick over these last 16 words or so. I cannot find the 1st m5/14 & 6/24.
*ma5/14 & 6/24.
Has everyone gone or are you just letting me keep on posting to get lots of pics of the delectable Jason Momoa??
sorry jac I am still looking for the ma6 myself the ma5 above is planets and a vowEl.
Not gone -- just got here :) Finishing dinner and then 83 to go! ;D
'm still thinking really hard myself, will be asking for clues and offering them shortly!
Got 'em! Comes from Greek for 'large'. I'm going to a shop this weekend that spells it the Greek way (with a 'k'). *Slaps self with whole carton of frozen fish from said shop.*
ma 6/24 is nite ma**** Jac that is the best I can do planet plus the famous f*** ending
Hiya Wolfie. *HUG*
((**Jac**)) Blaze -- how are you feeling today?
I wonder what the rest of the world does on Friday nite?
Blaze - oddly enough the first ma5/14 & 6/24 begin with the 2nd part of the band we were just talking about. Then add the first 2 letters of the red lover's flower for the 5 and the first 3 letters of it for the 6.
Well, I'm down to my last 18. These are the words that I couldn't get the first two times through......
oh and good evening all..... just got here - 92 to go.... yawn
GW the pills are working great.... no dizzy spells today... even took down my Christmas decor.... LOL

os 5/10 anyone?
Mamabear, I take it that means you dove in earlier?
os 5/10 - "more" os (add popular "more" 3 letter ending to os)
Harp - os5/10 is a type of willow used for basket-making, bows etc.

*Jac hands Mama a tissue so she doesn't drip bear drool into her keyboard.*
yes harpjane - was in off and on at work and a little when I got home before having hubby battle.... came back here to get my mind off it.

Harp is8 - A line drawn on a weather map or chart linking all points of equal or constant temperature. (Add to your th5/14 temperature word.)

How about the first th7?

gw word used for anti venom.....
Mama -- drop the di from the di8
GW-the belief that the world was created by the word "The" (hee hee hee!)
Mama - 1st th6/24 - Belief in the existence of a god or gods, especially belief in a personal God as creator and ruler of the world. (It's another 'ism'.
I don't have any di's yet - working backwards....
Harp - LOL. Great clue!
The di8/55 is a reall doozy - another of those 'isms'.:)
thanks jac! do you have the sh 7/32?
ki5/18 anyone?
Blaze -- I was given that same hint in the AM but it just doesn't want to work for me :\
ki 5/18 - plural ki 4/8
ki5/18 is plural of the ki4
th + Emergency Room + third vowel + first vowel + 3rd alphabet letter try that GW
Mama - sh7/32 - another way of spelling the word for a small cigar (beloved of Clint Eastwood & other cowboys) and usually spelled with a 'c'. Think of Sonny Bono's ex-wife for the first 4 letters.
gw... first part of 5/14 loose last letter and "i" then the two initials for air conditioner
Finally got all the H's. Small step forward....
ca 6/33?
Well, when you spell it out like that, Mama! Why didn't someone just put up the alterante def: 2. Treacle; molasses. --British Pharm. That I could have Googled! :D
GW - Thanks for the ki5. I wrote my paper list in the wrong order again, which is why I didn't find the obvious.:-( I had the cherry drink thing before the word to pluralise.
sorry GW.... too obvious I guess. It's just one of those words that's hard to clue another way.... I'll try not to do that again. thanks for the sh 7 jac
Seriously, thanks to all of you (*hugs*)
A clue for the last 'th' , a 6/27, would be good...
how about the sh 5/14 purty pleez?
No biggie, Mama -- sorry if my response seemed harsher than I meant it --- the curse of the text message ;)
th 7 - past tense of the 4/6 above it (looks weird)
sh5/14 - what the blacksmith did to the horse.
mama- what the blacksmith did to the horse
OOH! My last clue looks rude. Tisn't though, PROMISE!
lol jac, there's an echo in here!
Harp - SNAP!
thanks again jac. I could have sworn I typed that in before....arrrrgggghhhhh I think I'm going to take a break.... brb
no problem, GW!!! *hug*
well 106 to go but must be off to lay down again... see you tomorrow.... have a great one...
((((***MAMA***))))
Jac, "CRACKLE!" (your turn)
Mama - I know you've gone, but you'll read back... I KNOW I put lots of words in earlier from my paper list. I typed them in fast (trained typist of the old school and all that). They appeared to be accepted but weren't there when I came back later. I think, sometimes, we just type too fast for the Babblemachine.:-(
OK Blaze -- have a pleasant rest -- (*Hug*)
Harp - POP!
Rest well, Blaze.x
Last 'th' anyone? Th6/27.
so, was "SNAP" a clue for ca 6/33?

OWWWWWWWWWWW!
that hurts just reading it, jac!!!!! does it help to put heat on it?
Jac -- do6 -- same ending as the ca6/21 The others I don't have yet -- still looking for 44 more words :)
which words are you missing, jac? I might have them
Mama, it does help, yes. But something must be amiss, I think? I guess I'd better drag myself to the doc and put up with his, 'Hello, strainger!' jokes. Love 'im really, he's been one of my greatest champions over 25 years or so. Village GP, you see.
Thanks for the do6, Wolfie.
I have had back pain for over 19 years..... I understand, believe me.
Jac -- Kirsten - the nurse - asked if you had an xray as soon as I read your post to her! So it sounds like you better go ;)
Wolfie - No, I didn't even see the doc or go to the hospital. I'm your typical English 'Just carry on!' type person, hence my doc saying, 'Hello, stranger' when he sees me. I think I should go though. Something is obviously trapped or crushed where it should not be. Kirsten is right.
She also suggests sitting on a donut to relieve the downward pressure on the bone as well
Words left to find: 2nd ca5/14 ca6/24
how about the mo6/21?
I'm sorry jac - started from the end and worked up to the i's. now starting from the a's back down..... no ca's yet
Wolfie - she's not wrong there. Normally, if a back pain is a prob., sitting on a hard chair is the answer. In this case, sitting on a soft chair causes less pain on getting up.
Got it-- thanks anyway :)
Mama: ca - something you drive
mo + anagram of what you do to get the wrinkles out of your clothes
mo6/21 sounds a bit like Robin Hood's girlfriend, Maid Ma***.
Jac -- that's cos the coccyx in particular ends up getting compressed whenever we sit down
hi JoJo!
Hi Mama: Did you get my clue?
Wolfie/Kirsten - I know that. I landed on the damned thing when I missed that chair 4 months ago. I will go for an x-ray, as you suggested.xx
yes Jo Jo - I don't think I asked for it, but thanks anyway!!!!!
Any votes for 'aye' for my themed icon day yet? 70's glam rock (no G. Glittery, please!)?
P.S. I bag both Marc Bolan and Alice Cooper for my icons that day.
Hi JoJo-- how you doing tonight? Jac -- sounds good to me -- aye!
good evening to everyone.
hi new grandma!!!! how's everybody doing?
they are doing wonderful
Hiya again, Doxy. HAVE YOU MADE THAT STEW YET? Sorry for yelling, but I asked you earlier and you didn't notice.
Hi doxy!!!! ((**HUG**)) What Mamabear just said!
Jac: My husband has had bad lower back problems, so until you can get into the Dr. for X-Rays, what he does is lay on the floor with his legs and feet up on a chair. That relieves any pressure on your lower back.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!
actually I did answer earlier. i said I was going to try while I had a few days off.
I vote from Wolfie for my 70s Glam Rock icon day. Any more?
not sure what 70's glam rock is.......
Can I have a clue for the last th6/27 Thanks
That's great to hear, doxy -- Kirsten has been pestering me for info -- but I haven't had any to give her :) So how big? and all that other stuff -- if you gave earlier I haven't looked back to see -- been focused on words :)
speed -- past tense of the th4
th 6/27 - past tense of the th 4/6 above it (weird looking)
speed-past tense of the quaker pronoun
Mama - T.Rex, Sweet, Alice Cooper, Suzi Quatro, Slade, Mott the Hoople and many more...
neener neener neener -- I posted first!
born at 12:16 this morning. Girl, Abbigail Mariella, weighing 7 pounds 2 ounces, 18 inches long.
I love her name!!!!!
CONGRATS!
Thanks all 3 words left so I'll be asking for more clues in a second...
Love the name, doxy! It's beautiful :)
she looks like an Abbigail. It seems to fit her perfectly.
Wolfie - please control your competitive urges or else I shall have to ask either Kirsten or your mother to do it for you. ROFLOL.
GW, do you have one coming soon?
I'm growing puzzle-weary.... and still 67 unfound.
People, people, pronouns do not have past tenses. They do have possessives, though. ;)
Doxy - Gw's is due on 3rd Feb!
not much longer.
Yes I do -- he is going to be delivered via planned c-section on Feb 3rd --- we are naming him Sebastian Evan :)
JoJo - how are you doing on the puzzle?
very cool. Is this your first? You've probably said something earlier about it, but tonight I am brain fried.
Wolfie: Sebastian Evan ~ love the names today.
Jae - Many of us are writers or English teachers, so we do know that. However, sometimes, most of the time, in fact, we give understandable clues; this game isn't an exercise in IQ.
Mama: Only started about an hour ago, OK, I guess. I don't even finish the puzzle, but enjoy trying and chatting. I am a chatty Kathy!!
Understandable, doxy -- you've been through the wringer the past few days (*Hug*) No, my second -- Kristianna is my first -- now 2 1/2 and VERY excited about Sebastians impending arrival :)
anybody have the ca 6/33?
JoJo - wasn't Chatty Kathy a doll that wet herself??
that is so cool. I love talking to 2 year old big sisters and big brothers. They can be so excited.
Woah! I know, I know Jacula-- I was just kidding, in fact, giving a clue to another word.
I am a writer too and I play here all the time. I just don't talk much :)
Jac: No, I think it was back in the 60's where you pulled a cord and she just chatted, and chatted ~~~etc., etc. No wetting, at least not here.
Okay, Jae. Sorry for sounding defensive, but I do get defensive over my Babble friends. Welcome to the game (not seen you before).
jaelithe -- what type of writing?
Jojo - she was a bit after my time, as was 'Tiny Tears' but I think she had a potty?
I Finished Thanks to all of you for your help..Good Night and talk to you tomorrow!!:))
Are you thinking of Betsy Wetsy?
Just freelance marketing stuff right now. But I got my degree in Comparative Literature. High-falutin', and such. So I guess I'll have to get around to writing a great novel someday when I don't have a toddler trying to turn off my computer while I type all the time.
now I feel old. I had a tiny tears. my sister had a doll called "Giggles". She giggled when you moved her arms and everytime you bumped her.
Sorry Jacula - I'm responsible for those competitive urges! :):):) Hi all
Mama is right, it was Betsy Wetsy, not chatty cathy.
good evening hootowl!!! are you tackling this monster grid?
Woulf she thinks its going to be a puppy!
bye speed!
jaelithe -- LOL -- mine is always pestering me to play online videos for her -- makes surfing and/or Babbling during the day an exercise in creativity at times ;D BTW - Welcome to the Pack!
Ah Greywoulf does your like that badgerphone one? Mine made me sing the bananaphone song into the recorder on his play cell phone today.
Hi hoot! (*HUG*)
ca 6/33?
AAAH! See now you nice people have me talking. I try not talk on the chat, because I never have time to finish the puzzles myself what with working from home and all, and so I feel all inferior to the gung-ho babblers here.
I copied it last night but haven't finished and won't. I can help with that ca6/33 but don't know how to clue it.
The badgerphone one? Mine does love the Badgers and all their variations over at ebaums worlld -- she also loves Kenya, and the Peanut butter Jelly time flash, among MANY others :)
That was for mamabear. Weird, weird words!
thanks anyway hootowl, I will keep hunting!
jae - Sorry, have been off seeing to laundry and cats... You're a badger, badger, mushroom, bananaphone and Africa fan? You'll do for me then! Hoot - Hiya. Always blame the Mom! (Well, that's what they seemed to do when my daughter was in her clinic. Ask Wolfie for details about that.)
jaelithej - we gung ho-ers don't always finish either!!!! not by a long shot!
jaelithe -- no need for inferiority complexes here -- I used to feel the same way, especially when I tried to compare myself to people like Griffums, sprite, and other old hands at the grid :) then I got to give them clues at various times and the feeling went away!
would you like to give me a clue GW?????
Jae I only started this insanity this week and I don't plan on EVER finishing one. Too much else in my life!
MAMA -- ca6/33 -- possessing a greater quality of ca4 -- a dessert that isn't in the grid itself
thank you, kind sir
Woulf - I just Im'd you. Read it now!
You are most welcome, dear lady *cautious bow*
Nevermind - you beat me to it!
Oh! How I'd like to be a fly on the wall during THAT iM! lol.
I hear you, hootowl. I started playing for the first time about several months ago but then I forced myself to go on Babble hiatus for a while because it was sucking my time away! Now I have a rule that I must be satisfied with getting close to half the words in a puzzle.
Yeah, really, jac!!!! LOL
Yep! Thats about my limit too. Just a change from blowing up chuzzles and blocks! :)
"About several"? See, Jac, I have no high ground to stand on when it comes to chat grammar ;) Sheesh! I need to go to bed.
Cool! you know about Chuzzles!!!!
In the meantime, I still have 2 words left to find:2ndca5/14 & 2nd ca6/24. I've managed to get myself one point above the elusive 'Chessy' on the stats now... HELP!
I love chuzzles
I need those too, jac....sorry :(
Chuzzles are just sooooo cute!
OMG woulf - I thought you knew me! Chuzzles, Super Collapse, Alchemy and occasionally Avalanche. Did modt of the others too but they bored me after I figureed them out!
what's a chuzzle?
Working my way up there, JAc -- still have 32 to go :)
a game you can download. Chuzzles.
Yahoo has a big game section. One of the new ones.
A Chuzzle is a furry, bouncy thing in a game.
need a clue for is8. pls?
I haven't bothered downloading them. Just play from Yahoo.
I gro through gram dot com, not Yahoo. That's where Jungle Fruit is, where a few of you ventured last night.
It looks sorta like a cross between a Tribble and a Koosh ball -- and when you blow them up they are all happy and excited about it! My neighbor gave me a copy of the game last year!
I have the downloaded version. You get trophy's for doing certain levels or exploding so many Chuzzles.
is8 - lines of equal temperature - expand on your th5 (temperature or short for warm underwear) word.
doxy -- is + vowel + th5 - the one related to temp
That's the Trouble with Tribbles. Loved that episode of Startrek!
doxy - is - is + vowel + th 5/14
thanks to all, got it.
Thanks - I didn't have that one!
Jac -- and one of the better Deep Space 9 episodes as well -- one of the best cross overs with the original series I have ever seen
it5 please?
it + female pronoun
Woulfie - one or the "it_ _ _ _".... 8 D
Thanks!
Thanks again! Now what does it mean? Jak - just asked him to give clues.
Wolfie - Yes, had forgotten that one! Got all my words now. The last two ca's are: ca4 - 1. A collision followed by a rebound. 2. 1. A shot in billiards in which the cue ball successively strikes two other balls. Also called billiard. 2. A similar shot in a related game, such as pool. The ca is the plural of that. I should have known it! For those less clued in than even me... first 3 letters are a 4-wheeled vehicle essential to most folks for everyday travel + the sound of several Buddhists chanting.
it5 -A sexy woman might say.'Come hi***!'
Basically, it means, 'Come over here'.
a sexy woman??
Oh God! Did I just clue that? It sounded awful!
And I call myself a pool player......:(
Thats my boy!:)
How about the second ho5/12?
MrPres - Hiya. If a woman in Shakespeare's time was in bed waiting for her man to get all his hose and waistcoats etc., off, she might have beckoned sexily and asked or told him to 'Come hi****!' (Advance towards her, in other words.)
'Night all. Sorry I ruffled your feathers, Jacula. Sometimes my irony gets away from me :) Rest assured I think Babbleland is peopled with geniuses! Especially those people who finish the puzzle every day . . .
Hi Jac... I finished 17 hours ago... Your clue was a doosy!!
jae - I have finished quite a few and I am FAR from being a genius!!!!!
jaelithe -- G'nite -- and don't sweat it -- you are cool with us and we look forward to seeing you again! (*Hug*)
he5/12 hair coloring or progeny
thanks, mom - but I said HO5/12 :)
Jae - stop apologising. You don't need to. Yes, you got my feathers up for a moment (feathers?? I'm a bull for Gawd's sake!) but no harm done. See you again soon, I hope.
I get he*** tatoos...
oops - eyes getting worse
mrPres - which clue was that, then?
Not the Elizabethan bed scene, surely? LOL.
ho5 and 6 - means to lift (different but similar ho5)
he5/12 he*** tattoo
Woulfie - if you are very calm, cool & collected, someone might say you are po _ _ _ d..... change the first letter to the h
the ho6 is past tense
Are some of you people related or just friendly?
suel, all related!
Thank you again doxy :) Great clue, EB!
I am sorry to do this to you guys but I have to go to sleep and I've got one word to go. it is the he5/12 the one that is pl you don't inherit. Please
Sue - We're in the Babble family! Macadam & Lotti are mother/daughter... there might be a few others too...
no relation here! just babble buddy
Suel -- hootowl is really my mother whom I just introed to Babble this week :)
no relation either. Just chatty
Mark - A Jewish meal (I think) is called a se _ _ _ change to the h
Yes thanks Eastern but that is the he5/14. I need the he5/12
Woulfie & hootowl - really??? Welcome Mama Woulfie!!
Not trying to ease drop but every time I read someone calls someone esle mom for another famiy name. Good that you are all babble family too.
oh wait, I lied - sometimes my daughters play - Eeshie is one and the other is THIRDCUB
HI Mark -- he5/12 -- he + double consonant + 1st vowel
he5/12 semi permanent natural colouring for the hair he5/12 - superhe*** like superman & batman
Marc - ooops! he 5/12 - used to change to a 'reddish' color
Thank you Blue - but I came first!
Mamabear- then again...you've adopted so many of us!!!
Hi everyone -- having fun?
hi cybernan!!!! fun? yeah, fun, that's it.
Marc -- have you looked into becoming a Friend of Babble yet?
GW - I think you have the wrong marc - I think you are thinking of Markbowers
hi cybernan
Oops -- my bad!!!! I chat with so many people, I get confused sometimes!! ;)
Graywolf...my son does babble sometimes also. He won't stop to chat though.
Hey c-nan -- it's always a blast in Babbleonia!!! (*hug*) How's by you?
hootowl - What did you mean when you said you came first?? It's late, I'm jetlagged & 30 words away from finishing so my brain is muddled!!
Thanks guys got it, finished and not to bed. Big move tomorrow. Going from a 6,000 sq ft house to a 1800 sq ft apartment. Downsizing for awhile. All the best,
Pretty good -- finished earlier today -- just dropped by to chat.
SueL -- that's great --- how old is he?
night Marc
Grr. I just got kicked off site and so my last post did not post.
Jetlagged? -- where have you been hootowl?
Good luck, Marc! See you soon, I hope :)
Ok - HOW do you people finish these things. Reference books? computer dictionaries? No jobs? :)
make sure there's room to babble, marc!!!! good luck!
He is 34 years old. He live next door to me with his family.
c-nan -- EB is jetlagged, not hootowl
no jobs!!! --- retirement is wonderful.
sorry -- the eyes are going -- EB where have you been?
Sue -- must be nice having him so close
retired?????? I WISH
hootowl - clues...'repeat' words from doing puzzles & www.a2zwordfinder.com when I'm really going crazy!!
retired, only in my dreams.
Hootowl - We finish these grids either because we have a good knowledge of languages, we read the chat log, we refer to dictionaries, or we go to the web's a2z.
mom -- fast typing, no fear of asking for help and a supportive lady beside me :)
c-nan - I was in Phoenix for work...up at 4 am to catch my flight - back in NY tonight...long week!
Mamabear -- I use the term loosely in the sense that I don't go out to work -- I don't think women ever really get to retire!
I am too but I still have no time. Can't accept the idea that I'm "old".
Oh, and, I forgot to add, we've been doing these grids for so long we've got to know all the weird non-words that crop up.
that is a long day, EB, and moreso because the trip was not for pleasure!
26 more........... not looking good!
I must admit, hootowl, it is quite a shock when I look in the mirror every morning.
Hoot - 'Old' isn't in the Babble dictionary. No word under 4 letters is.
21 here!
4 am EB???? yikes.... you must be exhausted!!!
Hoot: I have kids older than you ~ and the babblers say I'm not old. So, don't stress out age. If you are babbling, you aren't "old".
We'll help mamabear -- need a clue?
Greywolf.. Its great. My 36 year old son moved back in with him two daughters. I love having them close. Do you live near your mom?
I slept on the plane a little, but not as much as I would have liked...
Wolfie: Yeh right!! 21!
21 left to find, JoJo :)
I'm missing my ref books! Left them in my old place when I came here! Was in San Antonio for a while and they had an anagram in the daily paper. Callenge was to find all the words in another word. Never did cause they had words I'd never seen and couldn't find in a dictionary! I had made lists of the weird words. Wish I still had them.
cybernan - I am working on the he's right now. Missing a whole bunch, starting with the first 6 on the list
Oh. I thought you meant your age! My mistake.
Just got new nails put on and I keep miss spelling words.
SueL -- nope -- she's in TN I am in PA
I never could fall asleep on a plane....
It's only a 2 day drive...from Knox...but now I'm in Memphis...3 days...maybe
he 6/24 plural of 5/14: rhymes with Jewish sabbath meal.
GreyWoulf I'm sure she misses having you close by.
er7?
Right! Directly under my thumb! NOT! :)
er 7 - when land is worn away
er 7 - the ocean constantly washing ashore causes this
er 7 What happens to the sand on a beach when a bad storm comes.
er 7/28: the mountains shapes are changed by wind and water er*****
Thank you both!
and you too, c-nan!
Thanks!
My highest count so far - 141 . More than half. Spoiling my image!
142
Oh -- just thanks to all for the help there -- I love when it is dogpile on the clue! ;D
Just seen Hootowl's last post about being in Memphis. Now I'm singing 70s hit 'All The Way From Memphis'. Is that a Hootowl vote for my 70s Glam Rock icon day then?
is there another clue for that he besides rhyming with the jewish sabbath meal?
mama - male pronoun + the " " (and the antelope play all day - but drop an "e")
he6/24 - add a personal pronoun to the end of the he5 before it.
Mama -- drop the double vowel in the 6 that follows it
see that's a little problem I have.... don't have the he before it.......
thank you EB!!!!!!!
Mama - just got which word you are seeking - look for someone who 'takes notice', they take he**d.
THANK YOU JAC!!!!!!!!!
glad I could help Mama!
3 more he's - the 10th - 12th on the list
