Hi again all! Happy Year of the Dog!!! (is that anything like the hair of the dog? ;D)
Kung Hei Fat Choi remember what dianne taught us!!!!
hi cybernan!! hi blaze!!!!
there's a word that begins with X !!! I'm sure I don't know it! :o !
Tuesday, Blaze -- I posted in Bab Anon Meet & Greet with all the details for any who are interested :)
Kung Hei Fat Choi !!

blaze, you made me laugh
let my tea brew a little longer and still look for the xe....?
Fine, I'll go get the F 8
I am so glad for that Griff... I am scowling at the f 8 to make it pop out.... LOL
Oh, blaze, you can't scowl. You have to smile and make little smoochy noises.
i have f8/60... not 55... must be more than 1
when people finish today, they have to shout do4/5!!! LOL!
LOL griff then my husband would think I was having an online affair ...roflol
I categorically deny any existence of F words in this puzzle beyond the ones I am currently thinking. I am an F-theist.
Evening (morning?) all! Not sure you got my last message. Thanks to all who helped at the last minute. Don't know how many words I finished with but I got 2114 pts so not too shabby! So nice to know you all.
oh wait. there's one
flippin' eck! that's the name of a nightclub I used to go to. (the xe). grrr...
d 7/36
got one f 8
are those big f's normal words?
Are we ever going to see another s?
They're both combinations, mama
There are two f 8's -- both with same prefix
ah ha like 11:59 or am
wow! i found one!
got both!
teehee, good clue blaze
ok I have one.....

I found the little guy!!!!!
she's a long doggie lover
te 7/28 if no one said it already
can't sleep yet, probably need Nyquil one more night
that te is a pendulum.....
<you guys would not believe the stupid thing I did just now....not even sure I will admit it!>
Happy Year of the Dog!!!! REFRESH!
what? (dare I ask)....
nice one, Mamabear!!! :D
One of those mini-dramas...
p 7
Is it like the new headache commercial... where the cat jumps and by the time all is settled all is broken....??
Bear in mind this takes place in the space of about a minute and a half but at -9F outside. I remembered I need to plug in my car (block heater to keep the engine from freezing up). I'm not entirely dressed. Hunter wants to go outside. I put him out, I think "sure, I can dash out there for 10 sec and no one will notice me." I didn't even put on a jacket. I run down the stoop, plug in the car end, run up, plug in the house end, start in the door, and it's locked. I am Really Not Dressed. Worse, I can see Hunter through the glass in the front door, and he's on the back porch and he's lying down (which means his feet are too cold for him to stand). I panic for a minute. Then I feel my pockets and THANK GOD my keys are still in there. I would not have wanted to go house to house with my door knockers (though I'm guessing ANYONE would have let me in). What a dumbbell.
:O !!! omg!! thank goodness you had your keys!!
close call griff!
oh grifs!!!!!!!!
LOL Griffums!!!!!! Thank GOD for pockets!!!!
oh my ((((griff)))) big hugs and sighs of relief... having lived in the north I can relate...... ((((hugs)))
(A dumbbell with her assets displayed to considerable advantage, but still a dumbbell.)
*turns the heating up for Griffs, makes hot cup of tea too*
makes me cold just reading about it!
big warm blanket passed to griff.... now off to the hot tub with champeres of course
oh there is a pr 7 that is a synonym of one of the f8s
*Passes Hot spiced rum to Griff*
now we're talkin
*takes tea back*
you got THAT right... did you say RUM????
*passes Hot spiced rum to Mama* OK, who else wants one?
me please and thank you....
may I have a splash in my tea, please?
mmmmmmmmmmmmm....thanks GW
*passes one to Blaze and then starts setting up a line*
(passes Nyquil bottle to Griffs) Just in case the rum doesn't work!
Mama -- I remember what my friends like ;)
nuthin wrong with a backup
Actually, that gives me an idea. *sets aside virtual hot rum, goes downstairs to get actual chocolate cream tequila*
Griffs - now you are REALLY talkin!
chocolate cream tequila???????? when did they invent that?
aahh, a soothing beverage, good friends, and a manageable grid. What more could one want at 1:30am (eastern US coast time)
It's the Baja line - there's strawberry cream tequila and raspberry and chocolate. Baja Mocha + Nyquil - JB there's got to be a new drink name in there.
Well, I for one, have hit a wall on this manageable grid. It's times like this that I realize I would never finish one without BJ's list.
You know there are THREE different ways to spell the same word in this grid!!!!
mama that is the babble way...... ((LOL))
Yes, and like an idiot I *didn't* find it WITH THE ONE THAT"S SPELLED RIGHT OUT
Y'know *rubs chin ruminatively* that really should be a triple word score.
Griffs, how about "Acholia" - good for what ales you!
OK - make that TWO DIFFERENT words that can each be spelled THREE different ways!!!!
Mmmmm, that sounds good. Also what you say to your date - Acholia tomorrow.
mamabear you just blew my mind
I did?
Yeah. I'm too drunk for higher math.
Good idea, Griffs! Acholia tomorrow on the chat log! Goodnight (for real this time), everybody! *toasts gang with sippy cup*
nite JBs!!!!!! sleep tight & dream deep!
'Night jb!
have a restful sleep jb
My kingdom for an A....
For Mama: A
lol! Anj would love this grid - no As! : )
Morning dear gang :)
morning Sprite
hi Sprite! : )
hi sprite!
thanks Sprite!!! *mamabear tries to grab that A and squiggle it up into the grid somehow... oops, it fell on the floor....*
Hi sprite! (*Hug*)
I'm not incredible fond of A's either... but one strategically placed would be AcceptAble!
hey sprite!!!
hi, all
Dear Woulf! Congrats! How are you and how is Sebastian and how is Kirsten en how is your daughter??
Babbler... you didn't nod off in your tea cup, did you?
Hi angelsong!!! And how are the newlyweds doing?
All well, tired and happy -- Kristianna went to bed with almost no stories tonight, She was so excited during the day she burned a lot of energy :)
hey angel!!!
lol mamabear!..... errr..... kinda...... : ) hi all who just joined : )
sorry if I woke you.....bad mamabear
I am so glad everything went well, Woulf :) :) *big, big hug for you and yours*
Thank you sprite :)
Good Morning UK babblers -- I've hit the wall, so the last 42 words can wait for tomorrow (11:03 pm here). Good night, everyone :)
lol, you didn't!! I'm blissed, listening to Blur and looking for words.. : )
they are both doing very well. I, on the other hand, am exhausted...because guess who babysat a nearly 2 year old while his mom and dad were celebrating?
good nite C nan.... how are you ??
Nan, I am not from UK, but I wish you a perfect night of sleep nevertheless :)
good going!, and good night, cyber : )
night 'nan
nite nan! you're a good mom, angel!
later nan...8)
At least I found P7/44 in my first 10 words... guess I am doing a bit better than yesterday. Djeez, did I feel particularly blonde yesterday.
Hmmm, the grid accedes that Gen-X exists, but does not believe it is valid...
Mama...Dylan was so keyed up he didn't go to sleep until 12:30 AM, slept until 8:30 AM, then was awake until about 3:30 PM. He'd barely waked up when his mom came to pick him up.
The worst crime of all, Griffs: inconsistency!
Squeeze that little Dylan for us. Our little Dylan here (friend's baby) had high fevers all week and was hospitalized yesterday with Kawasaki syndrome. Scary stuff. :(
hmmmm I have a p 7/32 but no p 7/40..... must hunt... must hunt....
griff what is that ??
Sorry Sprite -- know you are in NL -- come upe with a suggestion for an Amsterdam hotel yet? --- see you in the morning (delayed by spotting two more words!)
If you go hunting, Mama, you might find some neighbouring animals in your forest who are P7/44.
Dylan runs me and my husband (bless his heart) both ragged. But I rejoice that he is healthy and can be active. He's not hyper...he's just busy and very inquisitive, so we can't leave him alone for a moment.
It's a viral, febrile illness, starts with fever, rash, then the skin of palms and foot soles starts to peel, but the real kicker is heart damage - causes coronary abnormalities that look like the arteries have had a tire blowout. He's doing okay so far.
LOL @ nan... babble is too addicting, I know. A good hotel in Amsterdam? I can give you some names, sure! What kind of accommodation are you looking for? And if you come to Amsterdam, you just HAVE to visit me, of course! I am 20 minutes from Amsterdam.
Oh Griffs, what a nasty disease :( :( You must be so worried.
of griff that poor little one... and family.....
That sounds dreadful, Griffs.... poor little guy... how does one come down with something like that?
We are. But he's holding his own. Had his immuno globulin treatment and his heart looks okay. How can you explain it all to a baby that's only just had his first birthday. We hope he'll come home in another day or two.
poor little thing. :(
I'm hunting in the forest, sprite, but I must not be looking behind the right tree!
Brave little guy. Is someone of the family with him all the time or isn't that allowed?
mamabear I am with you on that one....
I don't think they know what causes it - it's pretty rare. More prevalent in Japan than here. But the death rate is low, only 1-2%, from these giant aneurysms that can form in the coronary vessels. Well anyway - not to be a downer here. He's okay now and that's important.
Babbler's getting sleepy.....Babbler's getting sleepy.... *spoken in a sing song fashion*
Mama: some of your neighbours wear things on their heads.
In the center of things, under 100 euros for a double ensuite. Doesn't need to be fancy, just handy. We have been looking in the guide books, and on line -- but no photos, so it makes it difficult to know what you're getting! Thanks.
you're not wrong, Mamabear.... might have to go soon....
Actually our hospital here (well, the one he's in) allows 24 hours visiting in all wards.
Mama & Blaze -- it is a descriptor for the animals, not the name of an animal -- builds of a pr5
That's a good thing, Griffs, that will help the kid cope. For the P7/44: HP readers will remember the nickname of HP's dad.
Mama and Blaze -- descriptive of forks.
thanks for the good thoughts AND that clue!
Also descriptor of antelopes.
ex7/56...
This time it is really good night!!
good nite c-nan!!! sleep well!
Night nan! I'll look into it for you. Ask my husband too, he was born and raised in Amsterdam.
I'm fading too, but I think that's because I was up at 4:30 am and also because any brain cells that didn't get frozen tonight are now filled with sugar and/or alcohol. My semaphores ain't flying.
It always amazes me how incredibly smart you still are, even without braincells, Griffs :)
(am I the only one who tried typing Torgone in this grid?)
I have officially faded. see you all later, folks! : ) zzzz
ooh! I'm half way! 60 found, 61 to go : )
later babbler....
(((((((BABBLER)))))))) sleep for 12 hours!!!! I wish you restful sleep & pleasant dreams....zzzzzzzzzzzz
Oh yes, sprite, ask anyone about my incredible smarts. (DO NOT READ THE CHAT LOG)
Sweet dreams, Babbler :)
Bye babbler - thanks for ALL the help tonight!! You rock!
We are almost tied, Babbler!! I have 60 to go!!!
lol! you guys are the best!! ((((( hugs to all!! ))))) xxx
*mamabear whispers.....pppsssssttttt.... Blaze!.... did you find it yet?*
Good nite to those who are leaving :) Brain is shutting down here -- time to go as well -- Good night to all (*Hugs to all*) Make sure to read my post at Bab Anon ;) TTFN
Nite GW!
good nite, GW!!! sleep well & dream deep!!!! *kiss on cheek*
I need 'oxygen'. Can't get it though. Griffs, you are one helluva smart lady. Even when I read the chatlog, lol.
You are smart, very, Griff - creative, quick, witty, and more! Good night to sleepies, and hi again to all.
hi mab!!!!!
later woflie
oh yes. Creative, quick, witty... hypothermic frostbi tten
Woulf, sleep well! *big hug*
You were just preoccupied with brilliant and profound thoughts, Griff.
Griffs, I should have posted: 'especially when I read the chatlog'! :)
Yeah. I call the left one Brilliant and the right one Profound. Oh you're funny!
LOL! (goes to illustrate everything we just said about you)
Ren, I didn't really mean to compare you to my cat earlier. I was looking for a joke in there somewhere, but bupkus.
bupkus??
LOL mab!!! i take it as a compliment to be compared to a cat!!! i only wish i was as smart as my cats!!!
bupkus - nada - nothing
bupkus - nothing
Zip, zilch, nada sprite...
Well I'm not going to argue with you griff. I've read you and you are exceptionally intelligent and insightful. Period.
OMG, what a wonderful word!!! In dutch, 'bup' is very close to a word for 'behind'. 'kus' is dutch for 'kiss'. LOL!
i agree mab!! so there grif...8)
Hi MamaBear! Are you recovering from the latest assault to your immune system?
I am embarrassed by all the praise. (thanks) Also embarrassed that I'm well stuck in this grid.
I second mab on that completely, Griffs.
Yes mab, I am not over it yet, but am finally starting to feel better. Thanks for asking!
I also agree with mab, Griffs!!!!!! You make me laugh!
It's getting cold in this forest and I am running out of trees...
*blush* still think it would have made for a funny obit. "She froze to death on her front porch due to wearing only an (attractive) burgundy undergarment. All her friends said they would remember her for her intelligence."
Sprite needs OXYGEN and I need a TOREADOR
(((((Griffs))))) No way, we want you to stay with us for a very very very long time before we want to say something like that :)
On a radio word game show that originates in New England, one of the topics was what various yiddish words meant. It was so crazy because they were so obvious to me and so mysterious to the wellbred semi-celebrity contestents. Oh and one of their other mystery words was 'tirl,' -- a babble word!
Well, mamabear said it best - thank god for pockets!
found it... always behind the last tree you look!
am I the only one not able to load stats for this grid on BA?
LOL mab :) Mama, that's the tree you should have started to look behind... ;) Glad you found it. Sorry for the obscure clue.
I don't think they've been posted, angel
Angelsong - nope - they are not there yet.
'...her intelligence, and, of course, her impeccable taste in lingerie.'
Hey, at least I was wearing the one thing I wouldn't mind being caught dead in! Oh hey what else - Hunter is now the poster kid at his daycare, he's on the front page with Auntie Kari http://www.dogtireddayca re.com
I submit 'eonier' for 'during way too long'.
He's adorable, Griffs!!!! Is he a scottie?
Oooo, I like that one, Sprite. How about eieionier on MacDonald's farm?
No, he's a wolfhound/shepherd mix. Dumber than a box of rocks, but who needs brains when you look like that.
As in "His speech was even eonier than the one he had last week, I couldn't wait to stop listening to him".
Works for me too, Griffs :) He is adorable, btw!
grif he's a cutie. my pix is our chow/lab mix...like all our pets, she adpoted us!!!
He's beautiful, griff. Interesting mix.
As it should be, ren! She's cute!
Aw, what a sweetie, ren. Again, a really interesting mixture.
I give up for tonite. Gonna save the rest for tomorrow. Good nite all! *hugs* Griffs - remember - KEYS IN THE POCKET!!!!
thanks mab...8) she's a sweetheart
Okay, but that means I have to remember to KEEP MY PANTS ON Sleep well mamabear!
I mean, 'mensch, smootz, tchatke? I may boycott the show for excessive WASPishness. I keep seeing phoenix in the grid.
Sweet dreams, Mama :)
yup grif- they have us in complete control....
I saw phoenix. Also protege.
Sweet dreams, Mama. Take care and see you later. Me too, bed.
night mama b
Bye mab :)
night mab....8)
'Night mab, sleep well.
I was taken away and now I am back
Griff, maybe you could hide a key outside, for just in case. That was a scary incident.
as long as you were not taken aback Making no progress here....
Wb, Blaze :)
my 58 words are hiding very well
You're right, mab, I should. I have a friend 1.5 mile away who has keys, but would do no good in these temps.
(or maybe I will just put my clothes on when I go outside IN FREAKIN ALASKA IN THE DEAD OF WINTER Hey, that's a pretty intelligent idea.)
I finnaly got the 2nd p7 the deer little thing
I am still looking for your first P7 :)
I haven't found the first one either
sprite think 11:59 or am
Oh. Thanks blaze.
Street drugs in the grid! Don't do drugs, kids. But do them in the grid. Er, something.
thanks blaze
Oh wow! That was a wonderful clue! Also gave me right away the F8/55. And then the F8/60 too, by association. Thanks!
Y/w
giggling at the go 6/24 - one of my favorite movies too!
Kung Hei Fat Choi !! :D
And a big Woof back to you! Nice icon!

ex 7/56 - monkeytyped
Grifff.... more champers ??? you are on top of this grid..... thank you
No, I'm not - feel very thickheaded. Just poking at it.
45 to go and they will await my return... Good night all
'night Blaze!!!
nite Blaze... sweet dreams :)
Morning, all!
Hi, Jera!
I've decide this is the best time to Babble as it's the only time I have peace & quiet...
Yes, it's a nice time to concentrate. THough the chat earlier tonight has been a lot of fun.
It's kind of a rotten little grid.
Guess I just missed it... I don't allow myself to chat until halfway through... or I never get done!
Yeah, I came in very late on yesterday's, was a race to the finish. So just stayed for the flip.
That's the way to go sometimes... I have quite a few left, but fell asleep on the couch after Chinese food & family time... they had fun watching the movie in spite of my snores...
:))) That reminds me of when I was little - my dad would be snoring in the living room, but woe betide any child who laid a hand on the TV dial! Instant alarm clock!
hi Jera :D
It's amazing what will wake one up... the kids can run screaming through the house & my husband won't even twitch... but if someone is sneaking, he's instantly alert... must be the soldier training, LOL
Actually, now that you mention it, that might have been the same with my dad, seriously. I do know that I (the littlest and the only girl) was always sent to wake him because I could do it without him leaping awake to throttle whoever was touching him. Sort of sad when you think of that I guess.
Hah! I did that very thing this afternoon... my husband worked night shift Friday night (5pm to 5am)... we went out to give him peace, but came back & I needed something from him, & to go out again without my son, so I sent my daughter in to ask him where the thing was...
Oh... hi sherb, didn't see you there at first!
Griffs - my dad was exactly the same with the TV and falling asleep. It was like a siren had gone off if we touched that dial.
Yep. Of course back then the dials made big clicking noises too. No mute, no closed caption... no chance. :)
hi Hugs :D ...long time no see...
Hey Hugs... howya doing?
Sheesh... I think I'm done until the BA list comes out... sad, really...
awwwww. I'm still plugging. THought I couldn't do it without BJ's list but I'm down to 33 to go...
I have 57 left... I have the feeling there are many more words using the x hiding in the grid...
I like playing without BJ's list now and then... makes me think more...
Maybe so. I think I've only found 5 or 6 so far.
noble gases are a theme today!!
I get a headache after a a certain amount of entering made-up words, LO... always a thrill when I discover one is valid, though!
morning stef :D ...well, I found the X...
there's an n too
I only have 2, Stef... how many more??
didn't mean to excite you. I've only got two. Just thought it was cool!
I have 10 words so far, that contain the x
for a minute i thought radon was there too.
I've only got 7 with the X, better get cracking!
does anyone have the bottom R completed? I have the ro5/12, but just can't figure out the last one.
Griffums - I am kind of new at this - what is monkey typed?
I have it - let me look
nice hugabugs! any clues? i've only just started so i need all the help i can get :)
Well, that's it for me... back to bed for a few hours before the littlies awaken... hope to be back later to finish up! Nite all!
Hugs, I think you're missing the r 6 that refers to vermin
Hugs - think of what you control a horse with
I have that one too
Kraj - monkeytyping just means typing by accident. Refers to the adage that a thousand monkeys typing at a thousand typewriters for a thousand years would eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare.
Thank you.
I have re x 8 and ro x 5
We rely on it heavily here. :D
Hugs - you're missing another re
Thanks sherb
I have all the lower tier R's but there's so many blasted R's and E's I can't tell what started where
morning babblers
morning sha :)
Argh... this is just like old times... can you tell me which I'm missing? re 4 5 re 4 5 re 5 12 re 6 21 re 5 22 re 4 4 re 6 24 re 4 4

Morning everyone. Don't remember when (if ever) I had soo much trouble finding words. Only found 40 so far, even decided to use BJ's stats (never do that until I've found at least 1/2 the words), but the're not out yet!!! How's everyone else fairing?
Down to 4 left
I have the O's, I have all but 1 of the G's... Missing 3 D's. That said, I might be able to help. Sorta. :)

I'm foggy but I think that's all the D6's... try refreshing and see if your numbers change?

A regular, everyday usage one?
Yep, was just missing the D for past tense Got the P, thought it was a word frag and not a real word, didn't even try it
that would be the pr4/7?
yup
And the E - another one I didn't even try because I couldn't see where it led and I just didn't bother typing. Wotta dope. Hugs, thank you for all your help. THat's really so kind of you. I am glad to be done!
I couldn't have finished without yours and SweetTooth's help. So thanks too.
I find it's a mistake to not try! ;o)
YW! And I am also glad to be going to bed in this late hour!!! Take care and see you on the next grid!
It's 4:15 a.m. here... and I'm definitely ready for bed. Goodnight Griffs......and everyone!
You are right - and I *still* can't see that word there! 'Night...
hi Ihave no clue what you guys are talking about, i'm new hellllllllllppppppp.

hurshy or a theatre in ancient Greece
A kind of theater in ancient Greece, smaller than the dramatic theater and roofed over, in which poets and musicians submitted their works to the approval of the public, and contended for prizes; -- hence, in modern usage, the name of a hall for musical or dramatic performances. What a wonderful def!!!! for a short 5 letter word.
fMitch, you are a livesaver. As a technically challenged senior citizen I was running out of space for my slips on the computer desk. Danke schön!
Woo I'm done. Anyone else want clues before i head off?

everyone is being much too hard on themselves today. knock it off. :)
Oh Hurshy -- congrats!!! -- I'm finding this one really tough -- words just won't pop in!
hurshy A little self flagellation now and again does no harm!
Glad you ar done hurshy, woohoo!!!!! Could you now take those huge blusih earings off yr small pup in yr icon or at leat thats what it looks like at my end!!!! LOL
it's the Puritan ethic... feel more comfortable being self-critical than self-congratulatory...
Yippee TY to all the help you have all given to each other and me I have finished, never thought i would today!!!
yeah, it was a tough one. the puppy is just under a blue blanket, that's all. :)
Morning!!! Now I remember why I don't like to start the puzzle at the flip - because it leaves all the hard to find words for the next day!!!! harumph!
lol, poor mama.
Hey Mama (((hugs)))
fmitch, are you sticking around to give clues? if so i'll feel free to go have lunch and get some work done...
yeah, but what's the point without the hard words, Mama? ...welcome back :D

Hello! I think we are going to see a lot of Chinese Crested and Shar Pei doggies today, icon-wise.
hi and bye mab! and bye everyone else!
Bye hurshy!
have a good day, hurshy!!!
woof!!
hi mab, Fmitch, sherb..... you guys all done too?
yes thank goodness.
hi Mama - nearly done... hi mab :D
I've just begun after last night. About half-way, Mama. This will take much of the afternoon, as I am so amazingly distractable.
Happy New Year 1& all Having fun?
hi gramma :D
How goes the battle of the babble?
Hi gramma. Hard to say with the grid for me; I've done the easy half, but the difficult half now looms.
I do believe in miracles. I saw in the stats fo8...and I found it right away. It's the miracle of St. Babble 8)
Too too many REs and DEs -- I loathe them as much as I dislike UNs.
It's pretty weird we all have are downfalls. Mine are generally the n's.
9 x re's is a break from the amount we ususally have to find!!!!!!
Any clues for the fo 8/55 ?
hi everyone. gramma, so happy for your goog fortune. How about spreading the wealth with alittle clue for that big word?
The Chinese Crested is a cute little doggie, although I'm not sure I'd want to be quite so aware of what was going on with my pet's skin...
fo 4/7 plus go 4/6
OOOOPS... I mean do 4/5
and fo4/5 plus midday.
TY, mabs
fo4/7, sorry.
Got it anyway :}
Thanks guys, got both fo8's
mab - I agree but just couldn't refuse the icon today - feeling quite blonde and flighty - strange for me!
Liana, drop the 'r' and it will be allowed.... and hi!! :D how you doing?
Babbler - what are you doing up, young lady????? *mamabear peers over glasses (but not really wearing any) and gives Babbler a stern look*
I nearly chose one myself for my icon. I am blonde. Perhaps that's my problem....
*snorts with laughter* errr...... Mamabear, it is 5.45pm and coming up to dinner time, that's why!! lol!! I managed 8 hours sleep today!! :D:D:D How are you?
What's with all the "blonde bashing"?????
Oh, ok then, 8 hours is good. alright, maybe I am blonde too.......
I don't especially think of blondes as a protected entity (they're all just jealous!), so I don't mind. (Joke)
My sinuses are not happy today..... (didn't answer your "how are you question"...)
LOl - I agree, mab!!!!
Mamabear, they were the 'wrong' 8 hours though.... I slept the day away and the newsagents was closed by the time I woke, so I haven't got today's papers. I'll get them tomorrow (they save them for me). : ) (you're not being blonde!)
sorry to hear your sinuses are unhappy. I've still got a cough lingering from that chest cold I had. :( hot toddy?
You will make a good babysitter for Sebastian - you already HAVE your days and nights mixed up!! I don't often read the papers - it depresses me...
I only like the mags and horoscopes and fashion, Mamabear ;) . Yup, I get baby duty when I go home, lol!
clue for do 6/21 and preceding 5/12, please? -- really struggling with this one.
Kung Hei Fat choy to you all - just popping in to add some words as I'm on short time today. Have lots of printing to do as we're celebrating Chinee New Year in our Brownie Pack tomorrow. Will probably be back after 10pm

moorheit you're welcome
Sorry to bring this up, I know it's painful for us all, but have you noticed that in addition to pres. shrub's usual inarticulation there is now a semi-snort and a heh heh added to most statements. '...terrorism, heh.' Makes him sound like beavis and butthead. Idiot.
A little Welsh rarebit? Oooo, no!
Apologies to Bush supporters. Didn't realize my insensitivity; must think before typing. Ok. The puzzle.
tr6/24 pls anyone? ty
Babbler tr6/24 bright forest bird sounds more like a horse full of men
great clue, Frances! ty
is it just my pc, or is everyone experiencing some funniness with today's babble site?
Babbler you're welcome
mine isn't any funnier than usual, Babbler.. lots of "oops"
Babbler haha or hehe?
Mab, I am not a Bush supporter but I think you should be forgiven. Every once in a while we let our frustrations with politics get the better of us and our judgements on where that should be vented gets a little blurred. It happens to all of us!
yes, mab, and Jon Stewart does a great job imitating the obnoxious snicker
I think i had too many tabs open .....
Thank you shalee, you are generous. I'm settling down now. So far, so good here, Babs (except that I'm too noisy).
I closed a tab (tv guide cos I didn't get today's papers).... much better now! : )

Maisie: A matador or one of the supporting team.
Babbler ro5/12 a musical form
I just tried that I must be spelling it wrong
Maise, start with the same four letters as the word above it....
Frances, is it a term I will know? is it a common term, I mean?
Maisie - *sings* 'row row row your boat, gently down the stream.......' ;)
Babbler Def: musical form that is often the last movement of a sonata
thanks, Frances! I didn't know that. : )
Babbler ro 5/12, there's also an herby cheese spread brand by that name.
Babbler You're welcome
I haven't seen the cheese spread, Munner, but my mind went straight to that song 'Help me Ro***, help help me Ro***', though it's the wrong last vowel, I know. : )
Babbler, I almost gave you that very clue but I thought I was the only one that would get it!!
I still can't figure out the to 6. I'm going through the story of "Ferdinand the Bull" in my mind...
to4/4 + what you do to move a boat
lol Shalee!! great minds..... : ) the to6 - use your to4 above it, then add 'row row row your boat, gently down the stream'...... ;)
And now I'm getting hungry--have great leftover from The Cheescake Factory so I'll heat those up and be right back.
Munner I'm glad you can't get it either I must have tried every combo (except the right one)
Munner to6/18 a matador or one of the supporting team during a bull fight
oooh! the to6? kinda rhymes with a spanish big hat.... ;)
Got it, it wouldn't accept it as a word the irst time.
Maisie, I've been having the same trouble. I thought it was me.... :/
Finally got it. Thanks. It's easier with the Spanish pronunciation.
ARe you all looking for the ro 5/12 that is a movement in a symphony or concerto? How about Mr. Howard (movie actor/director) + accomplish or execute.
yes can you help me
I am stumped! go 5/20 it's my last go
great tr clue babbler..ty Still strugging with to 6/18, though -- spanish hat and bull fighter didn't help. Can't spell the bull fighter the way I want to --- is it a weird spelling of the same word?
shalee go5/20 sound like food that has turned
my apologies, it was Frances giving the great tr clue!

cybernan, did you find the t/618 yet? I found it on onelook.com
yw cybernan. I had been doing the same thing with the music, I think from "Carmen", running through my brain.
Yes I did, Peri -- thanks. I'm off for a bit. Back for the last few later.
btw, how many words today?
Munner, I kept trying to put the actual spelling of the cookie in the middle of the t6/18 and was not happy when it did not work :), Actually your clue was great if I had followed it correctly
Glad you got it, peri. I clue like that works more for me than a definition which doesn't help me a lick it it's an obscure word.
new on babble, how do you print off list?
121 words
Click on Babbler anon. to the right under Freinds of Babble, Then click on General, then click on stats.....and print.

de6/21 measure of the fineness of ladies stockings
spellit thanx for that :) Leslie...I've monkey-typed your clue in over and over...I'm missing something somewhere :) I'll keep trying...By the way, you're clue is very clear
de 6/21 - a small room or study (de*) + the ending that means "more of" (like munners go 4 he was complaining about...)
haha sometimes there's a brain block... how about ex + opposite of out + second vowel?
Leslie I'm sooo dumb! I was replacing the second vowel in the word with the wrong one...I wasn't paying attention to your clue! Finished...thanx so much for your help!
congrats missy!
I don't know why I found this grid so hard. Did you have the same experience?
i'm not that far along, but at least i thought it was easier than yesterday's!
Leslie, I'll let you get back to work on it. I didn't do yesterday's, was busy at home and abroad. :)
hello again...... 10 more and I can call it a DAY!
that's good... a lot of people who started wished they hadn't!
I'll go back a day and take a look at it, see what I missed. :) Hello Mama :)
bunnyvicious, just came back to browse the log and noticed your post. My 4 children and almost 8 grandchildren would be surprised to hear that I am a "he"...
Hi Mama, love the pic!
sorry, lol, no profile....<shifts an "s" in there>
hi missyme!!! hi bunny! that's funny - GMTA!!!!!
munner just out of curiousity how do you have almost 8 grandchildren? :)
Granchild # 8, making 3 granddaughter and 5 grandsons total, is due Feb. 1st :)
can someone help me with the last 2 re 6's please?
ewww Leslie..yesterday's puzzle DOES look nastier than today's!
ok, that's what i figured, just thought i should check :)
Good afternoon, all. Late start today. Feel like a slug.
due February 1st????? That's like NOW!!!! How exciting!
Hello Judi :) Why do you feel like a slug?
changed icon, less confusing...
Yeah, I'm just waiting for the call. Mama, this is the same son I told you about in my email who got in trouble his senior year...
yesterday's grid was a thorn in the paw, if I do say so myself! hi judi! Once you get past the first easy half, then it's .... well, then it's the second not so easy half!
munnner soooo close! Do the women in your family deliver before, on time and late?
I changed my icon to play catch-up with the theme. The chinese symbol for fire dog is lovely!
well I am happy for all of you, munner!!! bunny - you didn't have to change, I was going to after I got the re 6's... I won't be on that long if you would like to keep the cute little doggy!
Missy - ashamed to admit it, but we slept in until 11:00 a.m. Cool, dark ard rainy here today. Must be why. I NEVER sleep that late.
i can beat that - i got up at 12:30!
Greeting, fellow Babblers!
Missy, this is their first baby. They kept insisting she would be born in January because they have double insurance coverage through the end of this month. My daughter-in-law quit her job two weeks ago. I'm a little concerned that my son is totally clueless how this little "bundle of joy" will change his life.
Hi Jera! Munner - he will learn!!! One day at a time.
Mama re 6/21 add a vowel to the re 5 before it re 6/24 to go back on a promise or commitment (kinda spelled like the beginning of a word for outlaw or loner)
Judi It's dark and gloomy here, too. This weather is not much of a motivator. I prefer to just sit in front of the computer and fiddle fart around
does anyone have the last 2 re 6's please?
sorry, bunny, I didn't see your post until after I asked!!! Thanks!
I'm home sick but my daughter is out selling Girl Scout Cookies (last day)!
Hi there, It's the first time I play this game. Could anyone tell me why do the question marks appear next to the words? Does it mean they are dubious?
nope, if you click on the question marks it will give you a definition
why don't you click on one and see, Jess? ;)
Well, I did vacumm 2/3 of the house and cleaned the kitchen counters. So, I guess I can't be considered totally slothful. Still have to take a shower and finish vacumming. And then do a little ironing..... Oh, screw it. I'll just stay and babble.
LMAO!!! All this time and I never bothered to click on one of those and see! Been using Webster online to help give clues, such a dolt!
Silly moi! Thanks, guys
I need a clue for do 7/36 please.
lol!! Bunnnyyyyyyyyyyy !! :D
bunny - I have that re 6/21 - it's the last one on the list I need.
you might find these people at a hotel to let you in (or out)
May as well Judi. What's the point of cleaning anyway? Just gets dirty again!
Mamabear, do4/5 again? ;)
Sorry Mama, don't have it yet, haven't been here long...
re6/21 past tense of word above it, means to draw in or like Rudolph the rednosed ****deer re6/24 this is when someone backs off on a commitment, re + first 3 letters of word for opposite of "positive" * vowel
scrap that, it's past tense re4/4, Mama
thank you very much!!!!!!! 6 more. and I agree with everyone.... it only gets dirty again anyway!
Correction on my clue, that's + vowel...not * vowel munner It really is life-changing to have a child and unfortunately most young people nowadays are not prepared
Oh, Bunny, so true. Especially when we happen to be blessed with two cats and one dog. Hair there and everywhere.
how about the last te 6/18 & 7/28 please?
Mama, te 7/28, this new little baby will be te----- than her cousins.
te - small and smaller
take the i out of munner's word and you have the 6
Missy, he will probably do fine. He's just my kid who loves doing things impulsively. He's 27 years old, college graduate and has a great job. He and his wife are closing on their first home on the 31st and the baby is due the 1st. Great timing, huh? She has got to be so stressed.
mama te 6/18 & 7/28 te6/18 this is an extension of te4/4 above...add a nic"er" ending te7/28 littler
Munner I'll say! I feel for her. Now is not the time to be closing on a house... :(
hello there everyone.....just got back again....4 words to go and I can't find them !!!!
Hello Karys :)
Missy, when is your grandchild due?
Wow. Just got the Xe5 on the first guess.

Everybody is fighting in my house.... wish I could jump through the screen and live in Babbleonia.

Munner tr 6/24 like the cave dweller, a tr**lodite + opposite of "off"

Bye Babbler :)
Glad I got back in time..... ((((((BABBLER))))))) hope you sleep well again tonite!!! Take care..... see ya!
Thanx Tim I've always found chinese characters so lovely
What does it mean?
LeslieAnn, a doner is something you only eat on a Saturday night out after several pints. Junk food!!
Tim- I love your icon... you know what that dog says to his wife? "Talk to me, hon, I'm all ears!!!"
oh, drunk food.
going to leave you with that now then K....going to watch Elizabeth....
exactly.
Bye Karys :) cya later!
Nite evryone.....thanks for help .... :D
OK Karys (mom) see ya soon!
Thanks mama....I just love Basset Hounds. :-)
Tim I do too! My husband wanted a beagle, I wanted a basset hound...we have a beagle. lol
Bassets are all ears and slobber, so thank god you got a Beagle
And what's wrong with ears and slobber!!! LOL
Basset hounds are FRIENDLY, SMART & LOYAL. Beagles can have bad tempers and be a real pain if you raise them alone--they need lots of company or they do bad things to get back at you :D
talking LOTS of slobber!!!
Well, puzzle is done... think I'll go do.... I don't know.... something else. Have a good day everyone! Happy Babbling!
Bye mama....
mama Bye hon, hope everything calms down at your house!
Congrats, Mamabear!
congrats mama!
hi! hi all!
Hi Temple Owl -- are you just getting started?
Tim, I take it you ended up with my basset hound? My favorite dog is a lab which is what we've always had before.
Hello Temple :)
no - just finished! had been back in log for clues...
Congrats Temple :)
Congrats, TO! I just got started a bit ago, so didn't see you on. Happy Chinese New Year, all --- my icon is a Chinese Crested Dog. Seemed apropo.
thanks! how'd we get dogs today?
ch1212 That is an amazing looking dog...one I've never seen before
Babbler has a list of themes on her profile for each day.
Temple It's Chinese New Year of the Fire Dog
i've seen one - shocking!
ne 6/21? or no 6/24? thank you!
Honest truth, Missy Me -- I've never seen one either, but with today's theme I went looking for something Chinese and dog, and this came up :)
are we dogs or chinese new year?
Temple, from ch1212's icon, I have to agree with you...wow!
harp - past tense of ne4/4...as if it were a verb!!!
ne6/24 -either we all go or no**** !
THis is the Chinese New Year and it's their Year of the Fire Dog, I just put up the actual symbol for Fire dog :)
I'm a Fire Dog today.
whoops - that's the no! the ne was the first clue!
Back again -- and with a whole new crew -- how nice!
harp no 6/24 prefix meaning "not" + opposite of "id"
harp you are cute as a button! did u get the words you sought?
Yes TO, just got them! Thank you!
Hello cyber :)
clue for no 6/24, please....
hi cyber! well i must go - happy babbling to all! b4 i do - may i ask my friends across the pond - if i have a chance to get a certificate for 4 days/3 nights at a marriott property in London for $349 us all inclusive - is that a good deal? our PBS auctio has that deal on this week limited number
sorry, didn't see the clue you just gave harp...tu.
no 6/24..either we all go or no****!
oh, I remember seeing the chinese crested in the recent dog show on TV. Pretty interesting. I was looking on the American Kennel Club site to get more info on it.
well i must go homework calls :/ c u tomorrow!
Bye Temple :)
Missy Me -- I would imagine they are frightfully expensive to own.
chic no 6/24 prefix meaning "not" + opposite of Freud's "id"
help please for the ge 5/14's -- have the one in a bottle
my computer wont accept a perfectly good word for pr 7/44 meaning letting someone vote for you at the company annual meeting. Is there another word to fit that spot???
ch1212 I was looking the price up on the internet. Apparently, a well-bred animal will set you back $300.00 American. I thought it would be much more
inge the word you want is past tense of the word above it, like the tine or pr*** of a fork
You're right -- $300 isn't much at all. The one in my icon looks fairly small, too -- nice if you don't have a big yard.
pr 7/32 ? thank you...
pr 7/44: build on the pr 5/16 -- descriptive of a fork
pr 7/32: before midday
ch1212 I remember the size from the TV which is about the same as a chiuaua
Thank you all. It worked.
i am desperate for the pr7/32 if anyone would like to assist a pooooor ooold pensioner pleeease thaaankyou
ge 5/14, please? -- only one I have is in the bottle
thanx, cybernan time to lay down for awhile...
mo pr7/32 prior to midday
pr7/32 before mid day
Thanks for the pr7/32!
cybernan ge 5/14 this is the french word people use often now to describe "of a type" first three letters of word above it + consonant + vowel
Missyme and Mary thank you very much ....so simple really !!!
mo YVW :) I usually find a word is only simple AFTER I find it lol
Does anyone have a clue for the ge 5/14's (not the one in the bottle) --- or am I barking up the wrong tree?
Missy you are so right
cybernan I just posted the clue a couple posts down :)
krajcd55 YW :)
Thanks Missy - our posts crossed in cyberspace. Do you have a clue for the other one that I'm missing?
could i impose on your goodselves for the go5/20....i have really tried ....honestly
cybernan which other one?...I scrolled down but didn't see you posted another request
hello all can someone pls give me clues for the pr 7/44 and 6/21
mo go5/20 first 3 letters of word above it + opposite of "on"
go clue not here but go-- + opposite of on minus last letter
Sherylr -- the 7/44 is fork-like, and the 6/21 means fast
Got it Missy -- Italian version of the French, do you think?
Sheryl pr 7/44 past tense of word above it 6/21 you want this done immediately, or pr****!
cybernan I just saw the one you wanted...possibly it is
ty missy
YW Sheryl :)
Down to my last three and clueless! no 6/24 (opp. of id means nothing to me) re 5/22 te 7/28
Missyme and Sheryl thank you very much for your help
no 6/24 (opp. of id means nothing to me) When someone is arrogant, he has a big head or he has a big *** re 5/22 add an "x" to end of second re4/5 word te 7/28 something that is littler, tinier
opp of id = he has a really big ***, don't insult him or you'll deflate his ***
mo YW :)
cybernan re5 ....you might put it in your bath to make bubbles but change the 2nd letter
Done -- thank you so much -- why is it that we often don't see the obvious. Monkey typed all around everything and never saw them!
cybernan From now on you'll always know the opposite of Freud's "id" is his big, huge *** :)
Congrats Cybernan :)
Can I return the favour for anyone before I leave?
mo I love your clue! BUBBLES!
finito done finished completed yes yes yes ....i am sooo modest!!!! If i can help anyone please shout ....if i can get over my euphoria
Does anyone know what tomorrow's theme is?
tomorrow's is musical instruments
Congrats, Mo -- ty missy
mo! Well done! :) I found this puzzle extremely difficult.
thank you all ....(takes a bow or two!!!)
Has everyone here finished?
I too found this really tough. I just finished, but I had to do it by brute force. THere were lots of words I've never heard of. Argh. Anyone need a clue before I go?
cybernan I think there's a bunch working on it quietly
I will take my leave then -- icon for tomorrow and sewing to do. :) Thanks again for the help.
Cyber, Missy's right. I work quietly, although I enjoy watching the chat. The clues are often very helpful. Sometimes, when I'm not too fried, I try to jump in and give a clue or two, but not today.
Minbat What is that creature in your icon. Is that a composite photo?
or should i say curtsy!....my name is not Blair oh oh oh
Cya soon cybernan. :)
mo lol
Back at the flip.
It's a "minbat". My son found it for me on a site with composites. It's sort of a fluffy cat in the snow, with an eagle's head.
YANKING HAIR OUT!!!! Only need two more...this grid has been awful today! (...or I'm in idiot mode, hope it doesn't stick!)
Hi BV. What do you still need.
Minbat lol Cute! I should have known...I was thinking, "Wow, that cat sure has an odd nose..."
MissyMe ...i didnt think anyone overseas would appreciate my sense of humour...how wrong could i be!!!
bunny You're definitely not alone. I was left with two words easily seen in the grid but my eyes were jittery from concentrating and I just couldn't see them.
This is a horrible grid. Especially for having all those E's and things.
((((mo)))) You have a fine sense of humor :)
I wanted to do it without clues (bj's list non-withstanding)....
bunny BJ didn't post today ;)
Has the world ended?
Yes, Missy, he did! And Bunny, I admire you for going at it without clues. But did you pick a tough day for it...
LOL, hours and hours later (many glares from the husband too!), I am finished (and my brain is fried!)!!!!! Yay me!!!!
MissyMe...at long last , someone who understands me!!!!
Yay Bunny! If only husband could understand the accomplishement!
Minbat??? When I checked a few hours ago it hadn't been posted. I did the puzzle without BJ's list which is probably why I had so much trouble.
mo I enjoy, dry, subtle, intellgent humor--makes you work your brain cells
It says posted 1/29/06 at 12:57 pm by BrandyJack. I just got on around then, so I guess I was lucky. I would have been bummed not to find it, since I just discovered its existence!
Yay bunny! Congrats :)
I can't blame him, 6 hrs is way to long to spend on a game.... especially when most of the dishes are dirty. Everyone teases about the Babble addiction, I might need to go to the real Bab Anon!!!
BrandyJacks list was listed ages ago
bunny...the only thing we would do in the meetings is discuss the latest "stupidhead" word...would defeat the purpose of going... :D
True...
I got a kick out of the definition for the only C word.
I am missing only two words: de 5/22 and go 5/20. Couldnt make out earlier clues. Can someone give me another chance?
lol Minbat I never knew the definition of that word. It's a common crossword puzzle word I've used for years...
de 5/22 - spell just like do 5/22
grrrrrr....cannot find ro6/21....anyone have good clue?
ro6/21 - there are ones of unusual size in "The Princess Bride"
go 5/20 go + opp of yes + the letter grade for a 60%
De5/22 is slang for an old-fashioned "diet pill". So it contains ***troamphetamine.
ro6/21 think rats and mice and squirrels
inge...go5...sounds like it could have turned sour!!!
ro 6/21 - little fuzzy critters you try to kill
thanks...staring in wrong direction for too long! got it :)
Look at my icon... I'd like to prey on those ro6's...
inge de 5/22 This word uses the "x", rhymes with sexy but spelled differently, (add two different vowels at end of word) go 5/20 first 3 letters of word above it + opposite of "on"
Missy writes good clues.
Minbat, I think you should try air drying instead of the blowdryer.
Got it. Got it. Come and dance with me!!!
Minbat How nice of you to say. TY :)
inge... we are all dancing!!!!
Clue please for the ge5/14 that is NOT what's in the bottle, and NOT the word referring to a type of something, such as film... please and thanks!~
inge you all done?
Ge5/14. Take the word above it, change the last letter to a round letter.
ge - exchange the vowel on the end of the one that means "like something"
can someone pls give me a clue for the to 6/18
ge5/14 same first 3 letters as above, plus what you call fish eggs, (drop the "e" at the end)
THANKS bunnyvicious and MissyMe -- now I'm do4/5! Molto grazie!
to 4/4 + **w your boat down the stream
Sheryl a matador????
Sheryl, To6 = the to4 above it, plus what you do to make your boat go down the stream. It means a guy who works with a matador in a bullring.
Sheryl to 6/18 type word above it + another name for fish eggs, (drop the "e")
any clues on the re/6 24 PLEASE
Thanks to MO, Missyme, Bunny, and minbat for excellent clues. See you tomorrow.
re6/24. If you back out of a contract, you re**** on the deal.
re 6: to take back or not make good on something promised.
de6/21 and do6/21 please
ch1212 YW
re 6/24 - sounds like beginning of word meaning outcast or loner, rebel
re6/24, strangely pronounce the hard G even though it's followed by a vowel.
do 6/21, addd another vowel to the one before it
de 6, peri, could be one who protests, or the thread count of a fabric.
yw inge
de 6/21 - small room de* + ending meaning more of
THANK YOU EVERBODY who helped me, I have been trying all evening to get that one, now for the rest.
peri de6/21 this is someone who absolutely does not believe what he sees, a form of "He is in de****" do6/21 do + double consonant + double vowel, (just add another vowel to end to word above this one)
bunny and mab, thanks, have 34 left to find. :(
de 6/21 is also the name of the God of Knowledge if you read Forgotten Realms
ty for the to clue
Wow, lots of cluers this evening. Having finished (yey), I will take a break.
Sheryl YW :)
mab Congrats! This was a toughie!
A bunch of four letter words come to mind when I think of todays grid... :)
de6/21 ....i thought it had something to do with the densiy of stockings or tights
I have to admit, I used a2z for three words, and relied on clues in the log for many others.
And, thank goodness FMitch posted her second letter list.
Can't feel my legs anymore, must get out of chair now, maybe make sure the kids aren't spray painting anything... Be back tomorrow for more punishment! Take care!
mo That's exactly correct but sometimes people can get clues easier when a different meaning is given
do7/36 and last do4/5
bunny! lol Bye Have a great day!
Good luck with those kids, bun! Until tomorrow.
How many possible words are there?
do7/36 thing you go through in a building + opposite of another word for female last do4/5 do + double consonant
Jess 121 words today :)
peri, the guy in the lobby of your apartment building -- do7
Thanks, Missy. I gather you know the total by subscribing to the Statistics. Is that right? First timer, sorry.
oohh stupid me ...wasnt reading it like that ...and i am the one who loves cryptic crosswords..should have seen it!!!
thanks everyone, found the do7, I used to live in an apt building with one of those, nice place. But don't live there anymore, too expensive
jess--correct. you see the total by subscribing to Babble. However, most of the time someone posts it on Babbler's Anonymous within the first hour or so. (Right hand column of the screen.) Welcome!
Jess Yes... And Hello! :) Look right... Click on Babblers Anonymous. Click General. Go to first post. There is a list posted of the first two letters, the letter count and the amount of points awarded I usually copy and paste the list to Notepad and keep it on my desk :)
cool, thanks guys. Any other advantages to subscribing? (Other than rewarding the guy who designed and maintains this site...)
dr6/27, er7/32 and ex7/56, have not been playing very long today and am already tired of sitting in one place, that is my excuse for asking for so many clues :)
Jess lol! The stats on this page you can flip to is very helpful when BrandyJack hasn't posted the list you were directed to.
No6-24? Apologies if this has been asked before. I've been away for a few hours.
jesslondon - it's a lot more fun for me with the stats, and to see where words start, 'specially near the end of grids with 4 minutes left to go. I held out going pro for 1.5 months, very glad I did. Plus it's fun to play with icons! Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!
no 6/24- If we all can't go, then "no****:
peri dr6/27, same first 4 letters as word above this one + opposite of "stop" er7/32 e + another word for vermin or rat ex7/56 first 3 letters of word above it + a word meaning to acquire something, "Go *** me that towel", + vowel
Because Babbler's Bag says "fire dog" - REFRESH!
judi No6-24 prefix meaning "not" + opposite of Freud's "id", ( When someone is arrogant, he has a big head or he has a big ***, it can be deflated)
harp, lol your last clue!
Some day I want to have a theme where everyone posts a picture of whatever their first word (noun) was. Today I would post a picture of a group of badgers.... Someone else might post a picture of an apartment building attendant.....
Thanks, Missy. You clue for the No6-24 worked. I was lost on Harp's clue.
Thanks JBs but I just repeated what someone gave me a few hours ago!
harp you should pass that one to Babbler :)
MissyMe, thanks so much, the dr6/27 and ex7 were new words for me
YW Judi I'm happy when there are several clues posted. If one doesn't work for me, hopefully, another will
missing the third ge5/14, also need ne6/21
I like that idea, harp, but what icon would you use for the fo 8/60? ex 7/56? *waits breathlessly for answer...*
peri, use a different vowel on the end of the ge word.
peri third ge5/14 same first 3 letters of word above it + another word for fish eggs, (drop the "e") ne6/21 past tense of ne4/4 word above it
Haz, thanks, can't believe I missed that one
You're welcome!
JB For the ex 7/56 I'd be cryptic and have someone going through a gate. :)
ni5/12 and ni4/9 please
<chuckle> - good one, MissyMe!
ni 5/12 - female daughter of sister or brother
ni4/9 When you drop an idea you ni* it...add a vowel at the end
JBs--it would certainly be a challenge in some cases. For the fo8/55, you could show a clock. I don't think fo 8/60 is a noun...
peri ni4 has a high scoring letter in it ...i dont know what it means
Haz, thanks, another obvious one I missed MissyMe, don't get your clue
nevermind, found the ni4 thanks
peri Mo's clue is better...the high scoring letter is in this one, word rhymes with pikes
mo definition for that word: A water creature in German and Scandinavian folklore, usually shown in human form. The name is akin to Anglo-Saxon nicor, and Old High German nihus, all designating some kind of water fiend.
Still, harp, it's too good of an idea for icon themes to be ni 5/22!
JB lol
ow, MissyMe - that's too much education on a lazy Sunday afternoon for my brain! <chuckles carefully lest begin coughing again!>
MissyMe ....you are so knowledgeable how did you know that?
can someone pls give me a clue for ne 6/21
re5/12 and re5/22 please
mo I wish I could say I had it on the tip of my tongue but I googled the definition :)
*whispers to mo* she's really smart!
Sheryl, past tense of the word above it, didn't think it was a word
re 5/12 - put on again
ne 6/21 is the past tense of the word before it. (go figure! I didn't know it was a verb....)
Sheryl ne 6/21 past tense of word above it, means very bright colors
help with de6/21 please :)
re 5/12 re + what it is called when you put on clothes = you d** your coat
JB I never doubted it
peri re5/22 second re4/5 word + high scoring letter
MissyMe, thanks again
de 6/21, thread count for nylon fibers. or, room in house + comparative suffix
suthundish de6/21 this is someone who absolutely does not believe what he sees, a form of "He is in de****". Can also be the thread count on a lady's stockings or other materials.
I can't find the pr4/7, hope it isn't an obvious one
peri YW :)
Thanks Missy
pr 4/7 uses the 3 pointer
its like fo8/55 only with a different prefix
suthundish YW :)
MissyMe is so quick with her clues i dont have time to think!!!
harpjane, that is a dumb word, thanks, looks like only half of a word
mo On the words asked for frequently I copy and paste the clues. Makes for quicker posting. :)
OMG finally down to last 2 words, to6/27 and tr5/10
i see you
found the to6
peri to6/27 past tense of word above it tr5/10 like the cave dweller, a tr**lodite + opposite of "off"
go peri! I still have 17 words left
noone help wickedbowler... he is my real life BF and he thinks he is better at this game then I am!
found the tr5 too, I am finally done!!!! Thanks so much for all the help.
Congrats Peri! :)
MissyMe, thanks, I found my last two words before I saw your clues.
hackerly Haven't seen him yet...is he playing quietly?
this is first time playing by himself... he usually looks over my shoulder
tired of sitting, bye, see you all tomorrow.
peri :) I'm glad you found them on your own...it's a nice way to finish the grid!
must moozie off now it is getting very late ....thanks for all your help and conversation, it has been great.
does anyone have a clue for pr/7? the one that isn't the morning.
Peri bye :) cya soon hackerly Is he looking over your shoulder now?
only missing 2 words and gotta go make dinner any help would be aprreciated need re 6/21 and the re 6/24
mo...have a good night...sleep well if you're headed for bed :)
lalobstah pr7/44 past tense of word above it, like a tine or pr*** of a fork
re 6/21 - past tense of re4 above it. re 6/24 - to go back on a promise.
Thank you!!
MissyMe ...thanks and yes i am off to bed it is just turned 11pm here and i am a tired little bunny!!! GOODNIGHT ALL
Sheryl re 6/21 re + second do4/5 word re 6/24 this is when someone backs off on a commitment, re + first 3 letters of word for opposite of "positive" + vowel
Missy...could I beg another small clue? Have 4 of the 5 do4/5's...one is hiding from me :)
I have the completed task, the thing u walk thru, one who accomplishes things and the artist....what's left?
suthundish do4/5's ~someone who engages in an activity wholeheartedly, a real do** ~another word for finished ~you open this and go through it to enter or leave a building ~when you are enamored to someone you ado** them very much ~do + double consonant
take the one you walk through, drop the round letter and add the second vowel at end. Take same 4/5 rop the round letter and double the last one.
whew....thought that was going to be the hold-out! got it...and thanks
suthundish you're missing the do + double consonant then :)
suthundish YW :)
thanks to you ...I'm not now!
lol
Down to last three words and tearing my hair out. Need clues for De6-21, Do6-21 and we'll get to the last P word in a minute.
Oops, just got the De6-21.
Judi, add the 2nd vowel to the end of your do 5/12
Judi De6-21this is someone who absolutely does not believe what he sees, a form of "He is in de****". Can also be the thread count on a lady's stockings or other materials. Do6-21 add another same vowel to the end as the word above, do + double consonant + double vowel
Thanks, JBs. (damn vowels!)
Ah, but what I wouldn't give for an "A" today!
JB lol For me it would just make the puzzle longer.
A-MEN! (for JBs)
Just missing the Pr6-21. Have mercy on my fried brain.
Judi Pr6-21 when you want something done immediately it better be done pr****, think Lone Ranger's partner
Thank you, Missy and thank you all! I am done. Have earned my dinner at California Taco. :-))
Judi Well done! Enjoy your meal :)
You're right! I reneg my previous comment, so the grid does not lengthen! <hhmm, notice the missing first vowel in this comment?>
Well, geesh, JBs... that's a subtle clue!
Yay, Judi! I rejoice with you! Mmm, tacos!
Judi lol I was thinking the same, very subtle... ;)
LOL!
Lots of weird words in today's puzzle. However, not as weird as yesterday. I didn't even come close to finishing yesterday.
Me neither, in fact, I didn't even come close to starting!
Judi, I never got around to yesterday's grid but looked at a few hours ago. OUCH! What a nasty-looking thing it is...lil beastie...
It truly was evil, Missy. Glad we don't get too many like that.
Sometimes Dr_God likes to go to the dark side...
Yesterday's puzzle, speaking in it's defense: "I'm not evil, I was just drawn that way..." :)
lol, MM!
I just realized the theme was "year of the dog". Now that I'm done with the puzzle, I thought I'd change my icon. Better late than... whatever.
Looking at yesterday's right now. Course, I got kacteoen right away, it just popped right out at me :)
Judi, instead of playing words last night, I went icon searching. Now I'll just have to remember to change it every day!
Sure... it pops right out at you... WHEN YOU HAVE THE ANSWERS!!!! lol
Judi...The chat shows you just posted the same message 9 times in a row...boy is my page messed up...I...must...refresh...
Surely you're making that word up, right?
JB yes thanx for noticing lol!
<please, oh, please, just waiting for the comeback...>
Time to go get my tacos. See you kids tomorrow at some point.
JB but since we're not doing that puzzle any more it accepted my word without question. :)
Bye Judi...Im munching on pizza right now but tacos sure sound good
It's my Sunday brain, too many old movie references... "Yes, it is a word. And stop calling me Shirley..." <sigh> Thanks for putting up with me!
JB a totally easy way to get an icon is to put whatever your looking for in your search engine and add the word "photo" at the end. Right at the top of the list of sites is "Google Images". Google turns every image it has on all the websites into thumbnail sized photos. I just save the one I want to My Pictures
JB Airplane is such a funny movie! We have another vector, Victor.
Thanks for playing, MissyMe! Yes, I love Google Images. I usually try to have a cat somewhere in my icon, but that didn't work for today.
I play Babble, AND I speak jive!
What's interesting is the chinese dog in your picture has always had a cat-like appearance to me
any hints on tr 6/24 thanks a bunch
hackerly tr 6/24 like the cave dweller, a tr**lodite + opposite of "off"
thanks
JB deathe by assocation: "That's a lovely dress you're wearing, Mrs. Cleaver"
hackerly YW :)
Sorry, MM, AFK there for a few minutes! Refresh, I have a new doggie!
down to one word can someone give me a clue for the tr 5/10 pls
tr5/10 rhymes with the dr5/12 word for a worker bee.
Hi, Jac!
Sheryl tr 5/10 add an "r" to first to4/4 word
Hi everyone. Just finished the grid myself only 2 mins ago.
Hello Jacula Congrats on finishing a very difficulty puzzle, (at least it was for me)
oooh, I still have a few to go, all r's & t's now
How many y'got left, Missy?
JB Fortunately, not only do I keep all ma' feathers numbered for just such an occasion, I actually finished the puzzle! Ah say, ah say...
I know you're channeling the Rooster, MM, but I'm not getting the numbered feathers... ow, brain hurts..bad puzzle, evil words!
JB Opera is being a booger snot, even though I refresh I can't see your new icon. I need to log off and back on...be back in a min...
duh wasnt' missing that tr word need the last do 4/5 any help?
Last do4/5 - do + double consonant (Sounds like an entrance)
got ty finished have agood night all
Sheryl do 4/5 do + double consonant
Sheryl, you go through a do 4/5 (with a double vowel). Same sounding word, but double the end consonant.
Goodnight Sheryl :)
'Bye Sheryl.
Congrats for finishing Sheryl, & nitey nite!
hi and bye, everyone! i finished earlier but stopeed to chekc email - having trouble with homework and emailed my study group for help %[
Is everyone done now? I've just been looking at GW's new baby pics in BabAnon.:-)))
Hi and bye Temple...sorry to here you're having trouble with homework :( Hope you can find some help in time.
I'm still here. Not done yet -- 49 more to go. Late start due to worship, family time and my daughter using the computer for homework:-(
ooooh, baby pix! another reason NOT to go back to doing homework..LOL
clues anyone? if not, bye and happy babbling!
Thanks Temple Owl but I'm still working at it on my own! I'll probably be begging for help in an hour<G>
Hi, T-Owl! Have fun with homework, once you see the pictures. I have 7 r words left, down to my last stretch. Getting to bed on time tonight!
greetings all - saw the baby pixs as well. makes you smile and kinda feel real happy!!!! 8)
I'm done thanks, Temple. I'll be around for a while for clue-giving. Got some e-mails to send and some other stuff to do but will keep popping back here to check.
Hey ren! Yup, the pictures are worth 1000 fireworks!
I've been done for a while...just been chatting and giving out a few clues here and there
Hi Ren. Sorry I didn't mail you the other day - my main e-mail has been playing up.
A new baby...yup it makes me feel happy, too, Ren. :)
it's ok mistress - i've been on a picture hunt just for you..8)
Ren - Oh good! Send 'em then.:-)
Okay -- Pr7/32?
Can I get a clue for dr 6/27? It's my last one and I can't see straight anymore.
mistress - also going to send you a different email address, one that will handle a lot of files inbound and out bound
tabbycat, have you got the dr6/21?
pr 7/32 = 11.59 A.M.
Thanks!
Yes, have that one
sorry tabby, I didn't finish, I was going to say the first four letters are the same
those first 4 letters + 'proceed'
Thanks ExWren. Have been monkey typing all around that and never got it.
will i EVER be able to finish one of these puzzles? lol
Hilarious -- I was acting silly and accidently got go6/24
Sorry, was checking out info on Provence, where I'd like our next holiday to be (after Crete in July).
tabby - dr6/27 is what the Aussie's called a 'twit' or a stupid person.
dr6 is actually a bird but our Antipodean friends use its names as a derisive term for no-brainers. Hope that helps!
Greetings all! Ok - I give up! Did the first part without a word list and boondoggled the second part. I do lurk occasionally and thank all who helped but mostly typed anything I could think of and hit the most amazing and weird words! BUT! I am stuck on one last word. Please help so I can just enjoy sunday. de 5/22 I think I hit every possible permutation but the right one!
*name! I can't seem to type tonight!
hoot - like the south - way down south in d**** replace the 1si vowel w/ the 2nd vowel
Hoot - Hiya. Have you ever heard of the song, 'Come On Eileen'? It ws by De**'s Midnight Runners. This word uses 2 vowels at the end instead of the 'sometimes' vowel.
hootowl - de+kiss+for example
Hi jac - I use your system too. Otherwise I'd be on here for hours!
Goodness! I'm surrounded by W/rens and Owls! LOL.
hootowl - take your do 5/22 and change the first vowel in the word to the 2nd vowel in the alphabet
and dogs, Jac! Look at all the dogs! (they're probably ready to chase the birds...)
Know the song jac but don't remember the singers. JBs hint worked though and I am finished! Thank you both.
way to go hoot!!!!!!!!!
This is the largest group of owlies I've evr seen! And I've been at it for 30 yrs at least!
great...now i'm singing come on eileen....8)
hootowl, you beat me! I've got 2 r 6's left, should have them soon, then I'm do... um, finished. (almost typed a grid word, didn't want the nanny nanny boo boo sung at me!)
Me too!!!!
Well - which ones?
Think I'll put my headphones on and have a blast of Ladysmith Black Mambazo to drown out Eileen. LOL.
I looked for ro 6/21 about 30 times and finally spotted it after making my fingers sore. Taking breaks is essential!
Thanks, hoot, but I'm done!!! I have 0 words left to find, whoo hoo (for the owls among us)!!!!!!!! Now, *rubbing hands together*, gotta go feed the kitties and the husband, fold laundry, and match socks! I'll check in with y'owl later! TTFN
you make me y'owl jb!!!! i've got a basket of socks......8)
Or *grins evilly*, shall I play 'Come On Eileen' LOUD and turn my speakers towards Babbleonia?:-)
No need, Jac, I'll be tossing socks in rhythm for a while...
The BF snoring is doing it for me. :) I'm gonna wake him up. Be on waaay later. He leaves for work at 11pm. Owl puns - oh my!
I'm stumped. on4/4 I know it probably simple I'm overlooking.
musicmom .. start with the O in the 3rd row and go up and left
on + ** and fro
CRUD!! I knew it had to be an obvious one! TY!
Anyone still need any clu-hoooos? To whit, I am owl agog to give whooooo rds. (God! That was terrible, even for me.)
mistress - still singing come on eileen as i'm labelling photos
no 6?
Sure if you're offering. do 7/36
no6 - if we can't all go then no** go!
thanks... just now got it... duh.
do7/36 - security males who stand at the entrances to hotels and nightclubs.
do 4/5 (opening though which we enter our homes) + opposite of ladies
Ahhhh the lightbulb clicks on!
Aargh, MusicMom! Now I'm singing 'Blinded By The Light'. LOL.
that's better than Come On Eileen! hheehee
nonononono - not blinded by the light.....
How about Charma Chameleon --- I think the letters are shape shifting tonight.
Ren - Would you prefer Jeff Beck's 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' then?:-)
Hey jac that's a good one!
we've been driving around nasa listening to david bowie's space oddity and ziggy stardust....that's what's been on my brain....*)
MusicMom/Ren - I read that other day that middle-aged males are commonly admitted to hospital with shoulder and back injuries after dancing too enthusiatically at wedding receptions etc., to 'Hi Hi Silver Lining'. They try to stab the air and strut like they did when it first came out in their teens. ROFLOL.
hmmmmm I like David Bowie too.
I'm a Bowie fan, too.
hehehehehhe That's hilarious.
They should just do the motions to YMCA and they'll be safe!
lol mistress.....i'll look for those guys the next time i go to a wedding!!!
LOL, Harp. My Paul used to have to teach people that dance when he was a DJ.
Hello everyone . 10 more to go--fo6/30?--go5/20?
I've watched guys in their 30s (my Paul included) nearly give themselves heat attacks doing the 'guys dancing' stuff to Madness. Tee hee.
My husband doesn't dance. He says he's always with the band.
fo 6 = fo 4 4/7 + what they say at weddings I **
Madness - 'Baggy Trousers' etc. Was one of the few bands the boys would all dance to willingly.
fo 6/30 is the present tense of 8/60, if that helps. fo4 + do4
mez and i usually end up slam dancing.....
go 5/20, opposite of "came on" spelled funny
thanks, how about the go5/20?
One word left and I can not find it. Can I have a clue for the od 5 12 please....
od5/12 - popular name for cinemas.
There are three songs that seem to show up at any family gathering that involves a DJ---YMCA, Who Let the Dogs Out (Woof, woof, woof, WOOF!) and a new addition, the worst one yet--Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy!
od 5 = od + 2nd vowel + opposite of off
We're traditionalists -- we use YMCA, the Chicken Dance and the Hokey Pokey --- I have an aunt named Pokey.
Done thank you both..
lol harp...i haven't heard the cowboy song...
Another song I've seen cause injuries to people any age is anything by Stats Quo when the timing goes wrong and they end up crashing heads.
Save a horse etc. is so funny.
how about the bunny hop?
OH yeah! And the electric slide.
that chicken dance is so funny!!!!!
wait...what's the electric slide?????
15 minute break. Need to finish cleaning up the kitchen. My daughter did her part.
hehe It's Electric! It's a line dance from the 70s. My girl scouts love it too.
gotta look that up!!!! was it a disco dance??
i'm disappointed that NOONER isnt a valid word http://www.urbandictiona ry.com/define.php?term=nooner
ro6/21?--ne6/21?
ne 6/21--past tense of the word before it
ro 6/21 - vermin
ro 6/21 rats, beavers, mice
how could I miss that???
Tim - you must've forgot to put the cheese in the trap. LOL. Incidentally, useless trivia here: mice don't like cheese.
Theme for tomorrow (today to me, here in UK) is 'Musical Instruments'. I've got my Gibson Double Neck ready.
thanks harp and ren, good one jac!
i'm considering my 12 string, drum set, or my tonette...
Ren - it was a disco dance. I don't know who did it. Hold on- I'll google.
Ren - Have you mailed me those pics yet?
The Electric Slide is a four wall line dance. Originally it was The Electric (Electric Boogie), created in 1976 by Ric Silver for the opening of Vamps Disco ...
Speaking of dances, does anyone remember Rufus Thomas's 'Funky Chicken'?
not yet...i'm moving them from a cd to my notebook..i'll start in a few sorry....
I love the funky chicken.
Okay, Ren. Still chilling out here to Ladysmith BM.
MusicMom - I hope you keep your elbows high and your expression haughty when you're dancing to it?
Just heard Manic Monday --- good one for tomorrow -- hope the puzzle isn't manic.
Jac, But of course!
I hope the grid isn't manic, too. I need to retitle all my photos and do a major file sort prior to zapping the hard drive.
no6/24? jacula, saw youre post earlier, still couldnt get it.
no6 - use all of the no4 above it (meaning 'nothing') + opposite of 'stay'.
DOH
Tim - have you become Homer? LOL.
Mondays are Bible Study day and it is at my house. Don't think I can hide the fact that I'm not paying attention. I have to Babel instead of Babble. <g>
MusicMom - :-)
I am Homer....
Now I'm singing Elton John's 'Tower of Babel'.
It's too bad you don't live closer - I bet we could have a lot of fun with our music collections.
if we all lived close we would have a lot of fun!!!!
Tim - I just imagined you sitting down on a chair, amongst a circle of other chairs there and saying, 'My name is Tim and I am Homer'. The rest of us would have to say, 'My names's Soandso and I am A Babbler.' :-) (Which was by BabAnon was set up!)
No doubt. Even Texas and Ohio are too far apart.
Anj has some way of sharing music on BabAnon. I've not looked into it though.
right music mom...we have friends in ohio and only get to visit through e-mail....
me either mistress...i guess we should on day....
DOH....I need 2 do's do6/21 and the do5/12 after that.
Yep I have friends in Arizona and CA. I doubt I'll ever get out there. I would like to though.
dr6/21 - one who does the dr5 before it. Think of a boring speaker or a tone-deaf sing-alonger.
Tim - there is no do5/12 after that??
OOps! You said do6/21.
have the dr's need the do's
do6/21 - add another 'n' to the word above it. do5 - one who gives blood is a blood do***.
CORRECTION! Add another 'e' for the do6, not another 'n'.
ex 7/56?
OK got the 6, its the 5/12 before the 6/21....sorry.
ex7 - ex + sounds like you need to open e-mail + a vowel.
Done ......Yeah
There's an 'ex' word (that after the 'ex' sounds like the first book of the OT but without the 'n') that means: Explanation or interpretation of a critical text, especially of the Bible. The person who can do this is the 'ex' word you seek.
Jac --- I'm being dense. Without looking it up do you have a definition?
I know that word. Thanks!
MM - I'm tempted to say 'Praise the Loard!' here that you know the word. I was wondering how else to explain it otherwise.
*Lord. My fat fingers are typing again!
You can praise him. I don't know how else i would have gotten it.
Well done, Tim! *~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR TIM*~*~*~
ne 4/4 not the geek
The geek's an ne4/5. ne4/5 - a type of light powered by ne** gas?
Or did you seek the Hawaiian goose?
I'm the geek ----- forgot to mark both of them off my list. DUH. Nothing like wasting time looking for something I already have.
Drat! Now you've got ME doing it! The type of light is an ne4/4!
Sorry:-(
S'okay. LOL.
hehe
I think Ren's fallen under her desk!
Nah.... she's standing in front of the mirror trying to learn the electric slide with directions from the internet.
How about ni 5/12 ---- is there a limit to how much help I can get? <G>
ROFLOL, MM!:-))))))))))))
ni 5/12, your siblings daughter
ni5/12 (you're gonna kick yourself for not finding this) - your brother or sister's daughter.
OH MY GOSH!!! Maybe I should be doing the Electric Slide....
Yeah I'm kicking myself. I got so used to not using the "c" I completely forgot to try to use it. Sheesh. Maybe it's time to quit? But, I'm so close to finishing!
Hi AKnitter!I'm on hairy scarf no.8 now!
woo hoo a whole herd of hairy scarves! can never have to many ya know, keep knitting
MM - Am now singing Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now'!
if only i could knit and babble at the same time (actually I do)
AKnitter - *Jac glances around and then whispers, 'So do I.*
I actually debated quilting tonight instead of babbling, but, well... the computer was right here by the chair and the quilt is clear across the room<G> I don't know how to knit but my daughter does a pretty good job.
more like simultaneously, hard to knit and type at the same time but i watch the log and look for words.
i am new here and i have done as many words as i can wat do i do next
Hi Billie now you start asking for help<g> Scroll down through the chat ---there are clues I've been soliciting. There are great pros here who give excellent clues.
Hello billie. Well, you either quit and leave it at that, or come back and check the word list for 'yesterday's puzzle' in the archives later, or you keep on going. The choice is yours.
pr 7/44? Last night I couldn't see the short ones. Tonight it is the long ones.
pr7/44 - add a short version of the head of a newspaper or magazine to the pr before it. (Sounds like a past tense word.)
Sorry for the delay in giving the clue - I was just setting a Whitesnake cd up.
Hi all. I saw the previous clues for ex7. I am still stumpped. Any more help from anyone please. Monkey typing isn't geting it done for me.
No problem. I'm bumbling through this tonight. Maybe I need something rockin on too. I got it by the way. Shew I'm not seeing the obvious ones.
all the vowels are the same (ex7)
re 6/24 anyone?
I don't want to bo back on my turn. (re6/24) Think Euchre
re6/24 - to go back on a promise.
(Looks a bit llike a photographer redoing his negatives.)
oops meant the re 6/21 just above it
LOL. Sorry for the double 'l' (Welsh version) of 'like'! :-)
re6/21 - what you did to your horse to bring it to a halt - you re**** it in.
Finally!!! the same vowels did it for me Thanks bunches!!
No sweat. It feels good to help someone else instead of always being the beggar.
ty jac, a large hairy ball (of yarn) is headed your way LOL
AJSC - Thank God you got that! I was hoping you'd get it from MM's clue. Next step would have been 'driving instructions' to find it.
I know it feels good.
AKnitter - OOh, thanks! Speaking of large hairy things, I've gotta get my other half up for work in about 4 mins., so I may be gone for a while.
almost needed that instruction manual. I worked up a sweat on that one WHEW!!!
euuuu gross
Aknitter - He's not gross, he's LUVERLY! I never used to like hairy men until I met him. He''s THE BEST and I love him to bits.
it was just the description, sounded rather funny actually.
en 5/12 is it a common word? I don't want a clue if it is. This is frustrating me that I'm not seeing them.
Or did you mean ajs sweating when ladies should merely glow? LOL.
I glisten. LOL en5 not really common
Okay then - got a clue? En5
the en 5 is not really common but if you added an ous ....
want a clue now?
think LARGE then shorten it
Got it Thanks knitter. nope I wouldn't have found that one.
ty ajsc
welcome. I am going to celebrate finishing todays puzzle with cake and coffee. Any one want to join me.
No coffee for me. Headed to bed soon. Have to wake the kids at 6:30 in the morning. I have brownies - will probably eat one before beddie by.
decaf only here
mistress.....i lost my broadband... something weird going on here...i'll resend.....
well.... in that case. Sure! I'm one of those people who actually enjoys the taste and experience of coffee. It isn't the buzz.
Can I help any one with clues before I go.
Coffee and cake is fine by me. How about decaff and Coffee Walnut sponge (made with espresso coffee). LOL.
Music Cream sugar or both or black?
Hi everyone: Got up early, 5:00 am, and went to the Seahawks rally. It was awesome. Great!
Ren - that's been happening to me all week. Will wait while you try resending.
go 5/20 ?????? offers cake AND ice cream
Music - depends what sort, cream in coffee, yes please, sugar, NO Thanks!
Jo Jo We 30,000 people at the STEELERS rally Fri. How did yours go?
Black please and strong. Hey Jojo - go Seahawks. I'm a minority here. Only live 4 hours from Pitt but hate the Steelers.
jojo, I'm still rooting for Seahawks. Hi everyone.
Hi All! musicmom -- try living on Long Island and not liking the Jets sometime ;)
Am I a minority rooting for the Steelers? Her MM Black and strong
Stuck on two of the ge 5/14 have the science term.
Aj -- the Woulf Den is rooting for the Steelers only cos the Eagles washed out this year :)
AJ: 25,000 people at the rally this early morning, so the radio said while driving home. Course, it was free, so no real stats. However, my husband is real tall and said that they blocked off the area we were in early, but the fans were way out in the street. The Seahawks were there in droves. Go Seahawks.
I don't like the Jets either. Can't stand the quarterback and they dropped a friend of ours from the roster. Thanks for the coffee ajs.
As for Seahawks, Steelers etc. You've lost me there. Sports teams? Hiya Wolfie. Saw the baby pics on BabAnon. Sweeeeeeet!
MM change the last vowel on one of them and then rub a lamp.
Doxy: Keep on routing for the Seahawks. They are going to win.
Hi Jac -- thanks -- SWMBO was absolutely fantastic to volunteer to help me out with them -- she did a great job, don't you think?
Jac -- American football teams again :D
Wolfie - yes, she did. Great baby footprint in sand background, too. Have saved pics, btw.
Yesterday in pittsburgh there was so many people shopping for Steeler gear that they closed of 8 blocks in the city. GO BLACK AND GOLD!!!
hey wolfie!!! great pixs - made me feel very happy!!! thanks for sharing!!
My pleasure, ren!
Hey Gw Congrats on the little one. Does his big sister smother him with kisses?
I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but Happy Chinese Year to all. Its the Year of the Dog :)
not yet, aj -- but she was absloutely insistent that she be allowed to hold him when we went to visit them today!
MusicMom: Glad to have you aboard the Seahawk train. Why do you hate the Steelers, except for me, home town and all, why? Love that you are for the Seahawks.
My Mum was born in one of the Dog years and she loves dogs.
GW, just checked out the pics. Wonderful!!!! The kids are so cute together. congrats again.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati. We are bred to despise the Steelers and the Browns. My sister is traitor but that is another story. They took Carson Palmer out at the knees in the playoffs. No way am I rooting for them. I think Matt H. is a cutie.
Thanks again doxy -- probably tomorrow I will finally get a pic of me with him to add to the mix :) I had a perfect photo opp today, but forgot the camera! :D
music mom - who's your football team????
ok mistress - it said message is on it's way...8)
The Bengals --- always! Even in the draught years of the 90s.
Boat: We discussed that last night. I am the year of the rooster, and brought it up today, on the website that I was given last night, and you know what? It fits me to a tee.
GW, just dropping in for a sec--love the baby pix, esp. the one with his adorable sister--congrats again and all the best to the whole family!
hello everyone! hope you all had a good weekend. How's the family Grey?
I'm a Rooster, too JoJo. But all this football stuff - is it really THAT SERIOUS over there in US?
MM You hate the Steelers because they beat Cinnci. OK even though you like Cinnci I will still share my coffee with you anytime
Ren - will look out for it arriving.
No.... I hate the Steelers because they are the Steelers<g> Also, Baby Ben played for Miami U. They are MAJOR rivals of Ohio U.
Thanks Une :) Lupe -- doing great, Mom is recovering well from the surgery, and he is LOUD when hungry -- I was just interuptted while talking to Kirsten by the nurse wheeling him in for his feeding -- I could hear him while he was still 20 feet away from the room!
MusicMom: Yeah, a lot of Seattle-lites dwell on baldness. My husband was bald when I married him. It doesn't bother me at all. Yeah, Hasselbeck, is a hotty.
Yes, yes it is, Jac!
may I Pleasse!!! have a clue for the M word?
mistress - when it comes to the superbowl...most of the usa goes bonkers!!!!! ( i mean that in a nice way all you football fans!!!)
i hav eonly 2 words left both dr words. dr 5/12 and dr 6/27 ( i have the dr 5 that would be a worker bee) HELP -- I have cake to offer
me + opposite of yes
That's great Grey - at least you don't have to try to figure out the "hungry" cry versus the "change my diaper" cry! Sending hugs to you all.
(*hugs*) back at you, Lupe
seriously!!! thanks ren ....duh, me!!!! <:)
gw The baby is adorable. I am gushing over babies right now because my first grandchild is due in June
ak worker bee is the only 5/12 i see....
is it SERIOUS? I'll go through withdrawl after next Sunday. It will be a long wait until August. At least I have PS2 to play NFL and NCAA both<g>
Jac: Are you kidding?!?!? I know you northern Canadians are really into hocky, but yes, the SuperBowl, is the ultimate bowl here in the US, ~~ besides the World Series ~~ which the M's are not contenders.
MM Iknnow what yu mean . I didnt know what to do today with out football
Me either. At least it is an Olympic year<G>
ak 6/27 = dr 5/12 - last letter + 7th letter of the alphabet + hoop
Ok now i am whinning .... dr help please i have only 2 words left both dr words. dr 5/12 and dr 6/27 ( i have the dr 5 that would be a worker bee) HELP -- I have cake to offer
Congrats, aj!!!
ak - that should read you dr 6/27 not ak 6/27....8)
JOjo - I am from UK not Northern Canada.
Was the post someone put about 'being brought up to HATE another team' serious?? I'm at a total loss here!
thanks gw
ak do you have the dr 6/21? it's the dr 5/12 9worker bee) + consonent (kind of a hooked consonent)
"Hate" in a friendly kind of way. Not a murderous way. We were brought up that it is a "friendly" rivalry. No blood<g>
just got that one ren (with a little help) need only one more dr 5
Woulfie: First of all, congrats on Sebastian's entry into this world. You are probably popping your buttons, you are soooo proud. **hugs and kisses**
mistress...football is not for you and me...we are creatures of the night!!!! 9)
Big rivalry right MM
Thanks JoJo -- have you seen the pix on Bab Anon yet?
ak - the only dr 5/12 is the worker bee....
Okay I need to buckle down and babble or I'm not going to finish. 14 words left and I'm too chatty.
Ren - How true!
grr then what am i looking for ??? I have the dr bee and the dr bee plus the extra letters (tears hair out)
ak - there's a do 5/12 - blood or organ do***
AK dr 5/22 maybe
ak do you have the dr 6/27
LOL, musicmom -- I can't tell you how many nights I have had where I have been down to the wire to finish due to all the chatting I have been involved with ;D
i am missing the 6/21
Woulfie: No, how do I get into that on Babanon? No I am not stupid, just never have been there.
sorry AK I was meant do5/22 I am tired and confused
dr6/21 - active version of dr5 before it.
re 5/22?
dr 6/21 = dr 5/12 (worker bee) + r
definately the dr 6/21 is what i am missing --- it is my last word, the only thing keeping me from the happy dance of done-ness
GW - forgot to tell you - you got mail... :-)
re5/22 - a reduction in oxygen.
JoJo -- click on Babblers Anonymous, then go to the Meet & Greet topic, then to my posting "Thank you for all you love and support" Lupe -- already read it, thanks ;)
if you mean dr 6/27 if you make a mistake you are wr5 change the w to a d add a vowel at the end
oh ... pass the fish of stupidity and obviousness I am doing a modified version of the dane of done-ness interlaced with the dance of dunce-ness LOL
re 5/22 rhymes w/ botox
watch those needles ak!!!!!
Sometimes, I wonder if the computer misses that I type these words. I thought I tried that one already. Thanks gang!
thank good ness and good job Ak Join us for cake and coffee
ajs, can i bring anything? hot fudge sauce perhaps?
its already choc cake with choc pudding in the middle and choc icing. A little choc wont hurt right?LOL
Ren - got the pics you mailed now. Where's hubby in those?
he was taking the pix's . i'll send you one of him now.
one can never have to much chocolate. let's just not spill it on the keyboard
fo 8/55?
Okay Ren. AKnitter - If you love chocolate, you should try living close to Cadbury's in Bournville, like wot I do! LOL.
AJ: Ok, I have lost 75 lbs since 1998, and sorry to tell you, but, yes a little bit of choc will hurt. Of course, if you are skinny-minnie, no, it won't hurt at all. Enjoy!
fo8/55 - before 12 in thr afternoon.
Thanks I picked that clue up earlier but didn't actually type the word. What was that dunce dance knitter?
Jo Jo Good job on weight lose. I have 35 ponds since July Only Cheating now because I had my kids here for the weekend
AJ: That's OK. Just get back on it as soon as you can. Weight is not easy to lose, but what is worse, is keeping it off. You will be victorious.
I meant I lost 35 pounds since July My goodness my typing is bad tonight Blame it on the sugar
mistress - it's trying to send....i don't know what the prob is this evening....
the dunce dane of done-ness because it was like pulling teeth to get me to find thast last missing word in honor of the dieters...sugar free chocolate
AJ: I understood you. No prob.
mistress - message sent....
Ak - from hereonin the word 'diet' is BANNED! Only 'revised eating plans' are allowed. Any other plan is going down the road to failure.
If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend the Splenda for baking mix that is out there -- Splenda alone will not survive baking -- but the mix is half sucrolose and half sugar --- it has no discernable effect on the flavor :)
OMG jac too funny, revised eating plan ...l I love that
So right you are Jac!!
98% of diets fail. Don't be a failure.
Jac: "Diet", is not banned in my book, if people need it. I will always use it. Sorry.
pr6/21?
Okay in the future I hope to help more people than I get help from, but for tonight........ tr5/12? ro 5/12?
Grey - I've been curious as to whether that stuff is really good. I'm afraid of buying it only to toss it due to any "after taste"
BTW, when my ex and my kids arrived here on Saturday after a shopping trip bearing a box of KrispyKreme doughnuts... Well, one of them said, 'Sorry about that! We know you and Mum are on a diet.' 'We're NOT on a diet!' said Paul (my other half). 'No! said I. 'We're on a revised eating plan and we've just revised it. Now give those bloody doughnuts HERE!' LOL.
pr 6/21 think quickly
Get it fast GW! (pr6/21)
wolfie - mez bakes w/ splenda and applesauce. we have had to change so many recipes since we discovered he was diabetic - he makes some yummy baked goods!!!1
GW pr 6/21 .. do it with speed
Hi everyone - just stopped in to say hi and congrats GW!!!!
music mom tr 5/12 add an e to the tr above it
tr 5/12 add a vowel to your tr4
pr6/21 - sounds a bit like the Lone Ranger's side-kick.
Lupe -- no aftertaste that I have detected --- I love the Diet Coke with Splenda as well --- When Kirsten gets home I will email you with more details -- I think she had to alter the baking times slightly --- I'll confirm and let you know :)
Can someone give me a definiton for the DO 5/22? Thanks.
ty
ro 5/12 there used to be a diet drug of a similar name spelled with a u this uses an o
pr 6/21 - italian phone greeting
t + ro 4/5
Thanks saphyre!! (*hug*)
music mom ... better ro clue, thinki babe the big blue ox wearing a christmas color!!!
I invented a fantastic sauce to go with our roast duck today. Even if I say so myself, it was GORGEOUS.
THanks Grey!
ro 5/12 one is a horse show and the other is a musical composition
YW
Okay. I have 10 more but I'm headed to bed. I ended up back out of bed with a coughing fit last night. I'll be back if it happens again. G'night all.
Hey everyone. I have lost 75 lbs, yes I called it a diet, not a "revised eating plan". This is what I did, never went onto a planned diet from weight watchers, or low carbs. Just ate what I usually did, but just less of it. My stomach shrunk, and now, I can't eat much. My kids and husband think I anorexic. No, not even close.
Good night musicmom
night musicmom...8)
night MM
Good luck and Good Night, musicmom! (*hug*)
Can someone give me a definiton for the DO 5/22? Thanks.
do 5/22 If someone has alot of nerve they have mo5 change the m to a d
do 5/22 is a dachshund doggie
Boat try using your letter count also
ren, thanks for the clue. I got that one easy.
Jojo - People once thought I was anorectic when I succeeded with a so-called diet. One day I may tell you WHY the word 'diet' is not a good starting point. For now, I'll wish you well and congratulate you on your success.
Thank you ajschuring and renfield :)
LOL, doxy1lover ;)
welcome
do*** - if you missed that one...welll....we would be concerned about you!!!! i think someone asked us what it meant....8)
I might be a little slow, but I get there eventually. :)
As the mother of an anorexic (correctly termed, anorectic, since anorexia is the generic term for a huge number of versions of this eating disorder) I can only say at the moment, never actively deny yourself any kind of food. You do not need to do that. If you take in more calories than your body needs for its functions of the day then make up for it the next day.
psychologist will tell you the word diet has become so abused that it automatically makes people hungry....munch, munch, munch!!!!
Ren - you've got it almost in one! Aside from that, the brain set immediately thinks, 'Diet? EEK! I must store every morsel I receive in my fat cells.'
OK - it is way way past my bedtime - good night everyone! Hope to be able to babble tomorrow if work is slow during the day.
'Bye Lupe!
G'nite Lupe -- Sleep Well, Dream Deep
nite lupe!!!
:-)
clue for ex7, pls?
ex 7 is a person skilled in religious text or ex + 2nd vowel + microsft guys last name (change 1st vowel in name to 2nd vowel) - s
Doxy - I'm so tired doing the ex7 clue. Can you not look back in the log and see which clue suits you? Not being nasty, honest!
thanks ren. I never would have got that one.
sorry jacula
y/w - it was a tuffie
Everyone on the diet thing: Whether I said the right term or not, I am still, per the gov. weight vs. age, overweight by 10 lbs. However, I exercise, and still the thinnest I have been in my life, and am happy with the way I look. Call it what you want.
keep doing it jojo - i'm a little demented at times..i think it was my unconventional education..8)
JoJo -- acceptance of body image is also a big part of wight loss success -- keep up the good work :)
Jojo - If I seemed to get a little touchy there you must try to forgive me. However, if you'd ever been where I have re a child with the illness previously mentioned then you might not feel so lightly about such things. No pun intended.
Ren & Woulfie: It wasn't you guys, I was upset about Jac correcting my terminology. That wasn't necessary. She/he just wanted to make a statement at my expense.
OK Jac: Yea, I was a bit upset by you correcting my terminology on the subject of dieting. Like you were being condescending. But, now, even before my last email was posted, you apologized, and I forgive you. Remember I am a Rooster. I forgive all, once they make amends. Friends still?
Jojo - I'm sorry if you thought I was trying to be clever at your expense. I wasn't, truly. If you thought I was, then I apologise profusely. I've been through so much re the illness mentioned, I guess I get pretty picky about details to do with it. I'm a Mum. No more, no less. Sorry if I upset you, JoJo.
who needs a clue???? doxy? how are you soing so far?
still have a few to go. Can't find en5
Jojo- Yes, friends still. Can you please join BabAnon (if you haven't already) and ez mail me through there?
Doxy - en5 - short form of how you might describe an elephant (Oh Sh*t! Not a good thing, given recent discussions)! Let's try another way - you child has succeeded at exams and has had en***ous success.
well doxy....it may not be the time e + no**an bates name....means big?????
thanks jacula. Read the LARGE clue earlier, but didn't get it. (Said I was slow)
Jac: Yes I am a member, I think. I have to put a password in to play. I know how to get into babanon, but, haven't ever been into the ez mail. How do I do that?
All finished. Thanks for the clues.
Jojo - As I recall you can click on the left on any message I've left in the 'message this member' part and you should be able to message me. However, I'll sign back in and check.
way to go doxie!!!!!!!!!!
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR DOXY*~*~*~*~
I'm off for tonight. See you all tomorrow.
Ren! Shame on you! You said a word there! LOL.
'Night Doxy. Dream sweetly.
freudian slip.....oops.....
Ren: For cryin' out loud, no apology necessary. We are all adults here ~~ hopefully. But, if not, still you didn't say anything.
Jojo - trying to log back into Bab Anon - but it seems to be having probs., yet again!. Will get there when it allows me to.
JOjo - me and Ren are friends. I'm not having a go at her.
Hello all You know if no one had mentioned Ren's little itty bitty slip only those who had gotten the word would have noticed. :)
Jac: Don't stress about it. In about 15 minutes I am going to click off anyway, BECAUSE, my fav or all favs is on DESPERATE HOUSEWIFES and then, the Seattle based show, Grey Anatomy. Don't stress. We can always talk tomorrow.
In this puzzle, the X is used eleven times. I've got 10. I'm looking for my last one. Here's the list of what I've got. If anyone can give me a clue to the last one I'm looking for, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. dex 5/22 dox 5/22 exe 4/10 exe 7/56 exi 5/20 exo 4/9 nix 4/9 nix 5/22 oxe 4/9 xen 5/20 Where, oh where is my elusive eleventh X...?
I kept saying the fo4/7 word in clues I was giving when I used the word be****...hehe. So easy to slip up like that
Jojo - I do stress because I think we need to talk. Okay, later then.
Jac: I didn't think that you were. If I indicated that, I am sorry. It wasn't suppose to mean that. Sorry.
its an re word you're missing...the x is silent in that one...re5/22
MissyMe - Thanks. I'll keep looking.
REDuction of rust.
boatierra okay :)
If you were posting about a post DOXylover had put on here, you might begin by typing re...
Ah-ha!! Got it!! My eleventh X. Thanks all. Always feels good to get a puzzle within a puzzle done :)
Incidentally, I've spent all Babbling parts of my day trying to type in TORGONE, XEROX & RONEO (photocopiers from the 70s), FORGET and TOFFEE.
boa...how true, the little victories add up!
Werll done, Boat!
I am out of here!
Jac, a recent puzzle had ANNO in it, just wasn't accepted as a word. I'm sure Torgone won't feel slighted!
Bye Jo jo :)
Hi again. Clue for that ex7 anyone?
Hi, everybody! I did the happy dunce of danceness earlier. aaaahh, wait... Dance of doneness!
Missy: Nite, have to see my favorties shows this eve.
zubie hi :) ex7 e+ another name for rat
Hi again JB...I finally get to see your "fire" dog. :) Opera is not being a booger snot...currently...
EX 7/56 - A person skilled in exegesis.
Okay, zubie try this ex+ 2/3 of what you make an omelet with (have to break it)+a mispelling of what you do with the omelet once it's cooked!
zubie its also e + ro6/21
Boa...does your name mean Beautiful Earth?
Hey, MissyMe, I love it the late chat on Sunday when the grid is done! No pressure, just clues and fun, and cake, and chocolate, and special drinks. He's a cutie, huh? (the dog)
MissyMe - You got it. 'Boa' means good in Portugues, and 'tierra' means land/earth in Espanol.
Ok. Thanks everyone. Got three words out of those clues :D
*looks around for the goodies* I want cake! Yeah chat is fun when the pressure is behind you. I can't chat and do the puzzle at the same time...I need to concentrate on one or the other
Boa I thought so...it has a lovely ring to it :) I'm saying it in my mind, like music
zubie cool :) You were bombarded with different angles to the clues which is a good thing...if one clue doesnt help, someone may put it another way and you see it
The day that the grid has JACULA in it will be an odd one!
JB. I had a dalmation when I was a little girl. They're so high strung...they need lots of space to run and activities to do to stay happy.
lol Jacula :) Missy won't be in one any time soon either
There might be a near miss though!
lol Jac Yeah close enough for government work
Listening to Queen now. 'Tie Your Mother Down' for anyone who's interested in the background music.
That sounds a bit X Files, Missy. Used to love Scully an Mulder. Miss 'em!
OK -- time to find my last 22 -- been on the phone with Kirsten :) She was impatient to get the c-section over with on Fri and now she is impatient to come home :D Which works for me and Kristianna as well :)
Wolfie - don't tell me they're working on the clues, too??
X Files was a great show. I'm STILL waiting for my book supplier to send me the season collection of X files. I ordered it in November, obviously lost in the mail during holiday rush. The club said they would send me another...almost a month later Im still waiting...
LOL!! go5/20 and 6/24, please?
Hello GW...I haven't been able to send my congrats to you and your wife. All is well with baby and mommy?
As for Kirsten - of course she wants to get home now. She's done what she had to do, safest way to do so, and now she wants out and home!
All is great, Missy! the only prob is that the apartment is not quite ready, but I haven't the energy to do much more than Babble at this hour :)
later jojo
GW go5/20 first 3 letters of word above it + opposite of "on" 6/24 this is a silly person...extension of the go4/6 word above it
go 6 was a disney movie
go5/20 - you might sniff something in your fridge and say this before throwing it away. You'd miss the last 'e' of the first word and the last 'f' off the second though.
Thanks, Missy! thought I tried the 6
I'm so happy for you both!!! Don't worry about the small things like preparing the house...the baby won't know or care...he just needs that special love you both have for him :)
ren I remember that movie :)
I know, Missy -- when we had Kristianna, we were on Long Island -- I was in the middle of preparing for her coming home, when the Blackout that took out most of the NE hit! ;D
Layla - by Deric & The Dominoes playing here now. My daughter's 3rd Christian name.
Ren -- if I heard right, they are trying to make a sequel to that movie
GW that's wild!
wolfie - that would be fun!!!
Ah, Her names mean dark, small, intelligent and born at night. I named her well then! She was born just before midnight, and i all of the other things mentioned.
My brother had a Dalmatian. It was a beautiful, but very high maintenance dog!
Jacula...that's interesting. Most people don't consider the definitions of the names they give their children. I did when I named mine.
JB...they sure are! I really think people get them because they are so beautiful and then are shocked at the training and attention they constantly need.
help please....with no6/24?
Dalmatians are like Red Setters and Spaniels - nutters! Their skulls compress their brains. Blame the KK for that!
Hello all. Few to go and need some help/clues please. go4/6 first one ne 6/21 ni5/22 pr7/44
suthundish no6/24 prefix meaning "not" + opposite of Freud's "id", ( When someone is arrogant, he has a big head or he has a big ***, it can be deflated)
Missy - I would NEVER name a child without first considering it.
rescued me again Missy! many thanks...a few t's to go and I'll complete my first one entirely!
I just realized that last post was a long way from its proper place in the log, oops! go** - one who is on the go all the time, but not fetching stuff for folks!
We did in naming Sebastian -- Sebastian -- "venerable" Evan -- "young warrior"
helenary go4/6 first one, a person who really tries at something, a real go** ne 6/21 past tense of word above it, (the brigh colors one) ni5/22 past tense of word above it pr7/44 past tense of word above it, (like a tine on a fork)
hi all
Hello CJ :)
Okay, checking my to do list: Laundry, done (most of it). Socks, folded! (yours too, ren!) Kitchen cleaned. Clothes laid out for tomorrow. Kitties - gotta feed the kitties! Change icon. Go to bed! Anyone need clues?
Cj only said hi all to get the frst post in on the next grid. ROFLOL.
GW It will mean something to him as he grows. And its a noble name, something to challenge him!
er7?
It's anybody's game, Jac, still 33 minutes left for this grid!
sorry!! second go4/6 have the energetic one
Background music to end of this grid (dIstracing music, LOL) - Wild Thing by The Troggs.
GW er7 e + ro6/21, (ro word another name for rat)
Although I find it interesting that Evan basically derives from the Welsh form of John, Missy :)
GW - a rat, a squirrel, and a hamster are ro------. Put an e on the front of the singular.
helenary second go4/6 going...going...go**!
Down to only 8 D's :)
Jac you are a woman after my own heart! Wish I could hear that music!
howdy all, just 5 to go... need clues for last go 4/7 tr 6/24 please
Well, GW, you're almost do 4/5!
GW Wow, I would never know looking at the two names. I've always liked the name Evan.
thans Missy M..!!! re6/21 and re6/24 ??
chic, when you're finished, it will be go4/7!
The Internet is a wondrous and scary place, Missy :D
JB's it's the last g 4/7 I need...
chic Hello :) last go 4/7 silly word...add the first three letters from the word above it and then add a consonant that looks like a turned around "q" tr 6/24 like the cave dweller, a tr**lodite + opposite of "off
hints for te 7/28 anyone?
chic, also a word that refers to a trail mix of nuts, seeds, granola, and chocolate!
YW helenary :) re6/21 past tense of word above it, means to draw in or like Rudolph the rednosed ****deer re6/24 this is when someone backs off on a commitment, re + first 3 letters of word for opposite of "positive" + vowel
suthundish te 7/28 something that is littler, tinier
If something is small, it's teeny. If it's smaller than that, then it's te 7/28
GW lol! Yes it is...but so chock full of information. When I start looking things up I end up adding tons more sites to my address book and never do finish up the page I orginally started on...links will be the death of me!
tu, missyme and JBs do 5/12 do 4/5 the ones between the do 6 & 7
So, chic, GW - finished?
How you doing woulf? Need more help? I finished this afternoon.
do 5/12, the last name of the poet John Do***
on my last one -- give me a min before I call for help :) Hi mom!! (*HUG*)
chic YW :) do 5/12 add another vowel to the word above it, (this makes a double vowel to the end of do5/12) do 4/5 the ones between the do 6 & 7 rhymes with more, shore, lore, gore... :)
It's what you knock on, chic!
And I am done!! last one was do7 -- didn't want to have to ask for it when I had so much time left! ;D
GW! Well done! *shares out some orange chocolate bits to him*
*~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR WOLFIE*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
A guitar riff for GW!!!!
I got that one last night. Strange, strange grid! Only needed help with one (!) word!
that re 6/21 alludes me..I have the reindeer bit but cannot put it together. to6/18 and the very last to4/4
JB is that an air guitar you have there? Play Highway to Heaven...
Yum -- orange chocolate! Though what I have had a yearning for recently has been raspberry gel rings :)
Update on to do list: kitties fed! Clues given (time for one more!) Bedtime, yes!
Oh come, come. You'll swell his head.
Spoken like a mom - what a hoot! (hee, hee)
re 6/21 is past tense of previous
Dire Straits - Sultans of Swing in my headphones now. A good done the grid dance!
Passover's a ways off yet, Woulfie - that's when the ring's 'll be back!
helenary re6/21 is past tense of the ****deer word you just mention"ed" <---- add this ending
It's the third do 5/12 I need....
GW that sounds yummy too :)
Plenty of guitar in that one, Jac! Good tune to dream by.
t0 6/18 is 4/4 with ro
One who gives to charity
Chic, when you give blood, you are called a do 5/12
helenary to6/18 the word above this one + another word for fish eggs, (drop the "e") the very last to4/4 like what a bullfighter says to the bull
But JB, I want them nooooowwww! (does best Veruca imitation) ;)
C'est fini! I was looking in all the wrong places.
GW Don't start...then I'll want them too...I will NEED them. I'm such a sheep sometimes...baaaaaa
thanx, JBs and Missyme!
aaawwww, GW, if I had any, I'd share 'em! *was going to speak sternly, but hey, the man just had a baby born to his wife, and he's caring for a young child!*
Yayyyyyy for chic!!!! (*hug*)
Chic Well done!!! :) *sends balloons her way*
MissyMe..you are a wonder..thank you ..am done now. see you soon
YW, chic! My work here is done, both in Babbleland and at home. Gotta catch some sleep, so I'll see you tomorrow! Good night! *throws chocolate kisses out as a stalling tactic for those wailing for gel rings*
Helenary good work!!! :) Good bye.
C'mon JB it's only 10 min!
tr5/10 help please
I know, hoot, but I've got to be up and doing at 6:30am, just 5.5 hours from now!
JB lol * jumps up and snatches one of the chocolates* mmmphjhmmm...goodmmm.phhmph
tr + first number
I understand. I have to be up when the BF comes home at 6am
suthundish tr5/10 add an "r" to the first to4/4 word :)
Well, I guess choc kisses will be alright.... (*pout* but still grabs as many as possible ;) )
good clue, hootowl! on second thought, I'll stick around a few minutes, at least to see what damage the next grid will do to my plans for the day!
I don't understand where I went wrong. I never gave him this chocolate thing!!! Night JB
GW...what's this? I seem to have found something in the Babbler cupboard wayyy in the back. It looks like rasberry gel rings or something like that...you want?
*tosses around more chocolate kisses, this time the caramel and peanut butter ones too*
GW - don't you DARE try to grab the choc nuts or caramels. If you do, I may have to resort to some kind of violence. LOL.
need an re4/5 ...not the one mulligan one, and re5/22
Oh, Missy! Do you have gel rings???????
Hmm. Any of those coconut marshmallow thingies in there?
Jac, I'll send you whole bags, plenty to share!
Jacula...you can have all of mine. I like the creamy-centered ones...just truffles for me, please...
Oooooh! Thanks Missy -- (*HUG*) --- anyone want to share?
Apparently Dr. God has a secret stash of em, GW....I'm sure he won't mind if he's missing one...or two...or the whole package...or two...
take first re 4/5 and change e to o then add x for the 22
suthundish re5/22 add the high scoring letter at the end to the second re4/5 word
ooooooooo, MissyMe - careful! He might take his wrath out on you (and us) on the next grid!
Cat lovers have to check out the current strip at http://www.twolumps.net/ -- it has me ROFLMAO!!!!
sorry...just not getting the re4/5
Hmph! Thought that was what he was doing with this one.
Missy -- I won't tell if you don't ;)
JB...nooooo...I can't take wrath in the form of incomprehensible semi-words o-0
suth, did you finish?
1 to go....re4/5
re4/5 -- color + e
go suth, go!
First re 4/5 - chane last letter to o for second one then add x to that one for 22
