How many words in this gem and how many start with u?
You still with us hula girl? -- new puzzle. As to where the clues come from -- we give clues to each other after we have found the words.
tee hee
No doubt more than we'd like, hootowl.
ahh I see has everyone upgraded to babble?
whoo hooo!
nope
Hula.... the stats and grid are not up yet to give you any answers....
whose birthday is it, hurshy?
I found a word!
only 149 words with 8 of them U's
j7/48
Well, the first word I see is a sitting down one. This doesn't seem to be a sexy grid, like yesterday's.
There are 26 S's however
149 words
miya's birthday today
Thats just crazy - I'll be monkey-typing all day tomorrow! Cs getting a little coocoo about it.
Found a dozen words, so far...
happiest of birthdays to Miyavi
Well, time for me to go to bed, Seb is out like a light and I need to sleep while he does -- will see folks tomorrow! (*Hugs for all*) (*Bonus for hoot, Mama, and Jac*) TTFN
Nitey nite
Good night GW -- sleep well.

21 words now. G'night GW & family. zzzzzzzzzzzzz while you all can.xx
Ok - perfect example. Enered word. Said word was invalid. Entered plural. Accepted it. Reentered original word and it said I had already used it. Checked list. Not there. So who's crazy?
try refreshing, hootowl
try refreshing, hootowl.
hi all. hoot, try refreshing. It happens to me sometimes, too.
SNAP, mama!
'Nite, GW and hello all. This doesn't look quite as fun as yesterdays
SNAP< hurshy!
one more time! SNAP, hurshy!
That worked but it did the invalid thing about 6 times yesterday am and accepted them all at 11:30pm! Does not compute.
ok, i have 75. think that's good for tonight?
A mighty good start, hurshy!
Well done, Hurshy -- I'm stalled at 53
37 words now.
hula girl -- there are advantages to upgrading -- you get a stats board that shows how many words you have left and which tile they begin with. Another very valuable tool is the 2 letter word list posted by one of our players, usually within 4 hours of the game's beginning. To find it, click on Babblers Anon. (under friends of babble on this page), general tab, stats (posted by Brandyjack) and scroll down. Don't know if the stats for Dec. 5 are posted yet, though.
found a few more - top row grey - one h left...
ah, got it. that's better.
tyvm...this can be very addicting I can see I can't leave my screen...lol
nonsense, hula girl, we can all quit any time........NOT!

83 and got that j7 debs was mentioning - no more clues debs dear?
co 7/32
I'm at 83 too. I have the J and also a oo6/27 and oo7/40 combo. Definition: A cell from which an egg or ovum develops by meiosis.
And please excuse me if it seems too early to give clues, but this puzzle looks rough, and I figure the sooner the better.
what? was a clue given for the j7 and I missed it/????
u 6/24
47 words here. If anyone feels they want to give clues, I may not read 'em, because I might be sleeping, but that doesn't mean I won't be back to read them later.
melissamay, thanx for the oo-oo's
j7 = one who j5's
not a clue, mama, just the fact of its existence
thanks macuser!!!
Yoou're welcoome, chic.
yw :)
anyone else amused that the puzzle contains #1 and #2? and does this u 6 build on #1, harp?
They are connected in definition, Hurshy
hmmm, not uretic...
Actually, I'm not sure they are connected in definition. Ur 6 is alphabetically before the # 1 word.
98 words to go for me.... a rendition of 99 bottles of beer on wall is needed here.... LOL how are you doing hulagirl??

a 4th L4
one more D and one more I - how irksome
and one more J
that is a very elusive J word I need one more too
you have the ja4/9?
yes
any suggestions for an 8 year old girl birthday party... PLEASE!!
I have 2 - 4 1-5 and 1- 7 J words
yeah me too blaze
Mr P -- my daughter-in-law had a luau for our 8 yr old granddaughter last year. Party favours included leis, they made some shell jewelry at the party -- she served a ham & pineapple pizza, with lots of fresh fruit (mangoes, papaya, etc.) on the side and a tropical punch to drink. The cake was a volcano cake (chocolate bundt cake with some dry ice in the centre).
1 C, I, J, and D, and 2 U's. this stinks.
Morning dear gang! MrP, my daughter just had her 8th birthday. We'll be taking her and her two best friends to Color Me Mine to decorate something of their own choosing. A week later we can pick it up, baked and all, and they'll have a memento of the event. Last year we had someone over to make bead colliers. Tremendous succes.
what wonderful ideas! Thank you! I now have the perfect idea... we will have a ceramic party, with a theme... summer theme might be nice! I can make a frangipani cake and give out chic sunglasses as party favouties!
sorry, don't mean to be grumpy. it would just be good to find them.
around here we have glamour shot parties. the little girls get to dress up, have their hair sone, and photos taken
mrP... can I come? :) Renfield, I'll remember that one for next year, sounds great too!
a photograph session! Perfect for little girls!! That sounds great too!
Sprite, you are welcome anytime!!
so what should a father give an 8 year old daughter for her birthday? Mr P wants me to do well on this one.
oh well, i will just have to get the last 30 in the daytime.
a great book to read together..... or a series
Sleep well then, hurshy :) We gave our daughter stuff to paint with. A small easle that can be set up on any table or bureau, paint, brushes, painting knifes, palette and er... don't know the word, the fabric things you paint on. Different people brought different items and together it became a wonderful complete set.
Ooh...just monkey-typed the missing j. It's been in the puzzles before--it's a Chinese coin.
Book... books are always nice!
My granddaughters really liked the "Totally Me" Scrapbooking kits (from Toys R Us) that they got for Christmas.
colored pens, fancy bookbag, drawing paper
50 is a nice round number to leave for tomorrow, so I am off to my bed. Good night, all :)
thanks! she really wanted the book based on Naria - the w w and w - so shes got that
could I have the second letter for that darn chinese coin I may have it but not sure stil need one more
Night nan! Oh yes, the Narnia thing, great idea.
The second letter on the coin is "i"
The coin is mostly vowels.
Jan thank you big....
Not at all, Blaze. BTW, did you get a lot of wind today? We had our power out for a while this afternoon.
Yes, but only for about 1/2 an hour or so.... a few blips too... seems to be settled down now.... where abouts are you again??
I'm in Seattle...
I remeber now... so many to keep track of.... we are a little protected where we live... but lots of power outages.... it's the intersections that are the worst of course... seems people forget how to deal with a flashing red light.... duh
Just to get it out of my system: 'hyacinth' is NOT in this grid.
NOr dullard
Hm, no, it isn't, you are right. :)
Hy
hyacinths would be nice to remind us that spring is coming real soon
Actually, I spotted the first two crocuses in my back yard yesterday...
I couldn't agree more. But in our garden we have snowdrops now. Spring IS coming!
oh that is a good sign
In sunny So. Calif. I still have tomatoes in the garden from the summer planting. I think we are going to pass on fall and winter this year!!!!
Dalmatian, wouldn't that be wonderful! I might consider emigrating.
i have pears on my pear trees and roses blooming - we never have winter...8(
Actually, believe it or not, we miss the rain.
I have a good friend who just moved to Houston. He says the bugs are huge. The rain is warm. And, the sunsets are beautiful.
Dalmatian, you can have some of ours. As much as you like, actually. You know... you can have the lot! :)
Thanks, pass it on over.
*performs very enthusiastic and feverish anti-raindance*
dal - right about the bugs...and the sunsets are beautiful...big red ball that tunns the sky pink and orange...never ceases to amaze me...
Thanks! I'll be watching and wishing.
Leaving 48 for tomorrow... see you then
Bye Blaze, sleep well!
I am off too for now. Have a great day/night/whatever and good hunting to all!
have a good day sprite
Bye to all leaving. It gets so quiet about this time each day.

Good morning! Been lurking and listening to the rain for a while. 35 left to go and not an inkling in sight. Big decision of the morning is whether to call the guy who sands our driveway or not. Vermont obsession with weather-if it stays warm all day then the remaining ice might melt down to dirt which would be wonderful. If it drops while still raining then we will have several hundred feet of downhill luge run. Think I'll save the money, wait it out, but move the car down to the bottom of the driveway while th going is still relatively good. But the Yak Traks on my boots and hike back up. I know you were all fascinated by that but you were really helpful!
Eva, I'm about to suggest Ark Building 101 to my family.
LOL Eva!!! Just what I was going to say - move the car down the hill and if it does freeze you can lie on tin tray and slide down to it. Put a couple of hay bales at the bottom and voila!
right-from what I remember you are on somewhate lower ground....do you need to worry about flooding? luckily don't need to go further than the bottom of the road today, to get tortilla chips for nachos for the community superbowl potluck at my neighbor's house tonight. Most of us don't actually watch the game, but its a good excuse for company & food and teasing the few diehards who sit glued to the set.
Eva....it's good to share and anyway that little passage took me away from my 'issues' this fine Sunday morning and allowed me to visualize another life far away....which sounded a darn site more interesting than my girls raiding the kitchen...lol
FMitch-the solution to Vermont's no-snow financial woes- opening all our driveways for hire for ice/tray sledding! Do you want to sign on as the director of tray rentals?
No concern of flooding here. Don't you hate that the super bowl is on so late on a Sunday nite? I'm not a big fan; but, any excuse for a party ^_^
Would love that job, just throught of a side line - 10 pin bowlling using person on tin tray instead of ball.
tbear-thanks for the reassurance re being boring. And yes, I love hearing about the different places and lives others are living. Someone elses minutia (sp?) are some much better than one's own.
Who will be the pins?
Hey tbear (((hugs))) didn't see you come in.
snowmen for the pins LOL
right that's enough fun, back to the grid still ahve 44 words to find and I think it's time for BJs list, having just got at least 12 Oops in a row.
FMitch....hiya.....
Or human pinball-with bonus points for hitting crucial trees along the way down and living to tell the tale, and points lost for slowing one's descent by bouncing off the snow banks lining the driveway, and then there's the total wipeout of either bogging down in the ditch or shooting straight across the road at the bottom. I speak from experience with car, not tray.
tbear, who is the beautifully soulful/woeful woman in your icon?
my bitch...:)
LOL Eva, I on the next plane, sounds like great fun and of course I'll need to test the run out first :)
Eva....it's the famous Miyavi,fir Miyavi-Fans' birthday......and she's a he.......AAAAaaaagggghhhhh
oops that was for someone else out her I'm talking to....:)
Come on over FMitch! We'll sweep the ice down for you. Miyavi is a he?!!!
HAs anyone got either of the oo words, I am so stuck on them
FMitch, pinched from way down the log - Definition: A cell from which an egg or ovum develops by meiosis. Apparently, if you google it, it's the fourth one down!! lol. I got it from a2z
trotters, thanks for that I usually go through the log but must have missed that one, will go a' googling.
yep, the log is full of little gems but it's hard to find them amongst all the chat.
nailed those 2, we have definately had them before, just wish I could have remembered them. LOL.
Has anyone been having trouble accessing Play Babble through Mozilla Firefox?
sorry AMN, don't use firefox.
any clue for the co7/32 please
bury together tbear
AMN-yes, I've had trouble quite a few times recently
Can anyone help with my last r please, the re6, it's driving me nuts, I just can't find it. Am I being stupid or should I just take a break!!
re + h4/5 what you do with leftover food.
FMitch, thankyou and yes I was being stupid. Can't believe I didn't get that!!!
It's ok it's not just you - I only got if from a clue earlier today and slapped myself with the squid of stupidity straight after LOL
I've had lots of trouble with Babble in Firefox also
I've got a trout in the fridge, will go and slap myself
Trotters thx for yr clue re: co7 got distracted by real life and didn't thankyou......saying that I'm gunna look again but it didn't immediately spring to mind...!!
got it got it got it YAY thx again
I've just finished, those su's were a pig
WTG trotters!!! Oh I am so sinking to the babble depths. Have even tried a2z and still can't find the he5/14.
FMitch, just add a letter to the h4 before, past tense
..... you know that trout you had.... can you chuck it my way please? Doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Trouts on its way - catch
FMitch three tins of pilchards coming your way.....ouch ouch ouch....... :)
missed the catch but got it straight in the face, thanks deserved that!!!
tbear!!! those hurt but at least I can have them on toast.
Took me ages to get the last 3 very easy he4's because I kept working with the top E. lol
You are going to smile when I tell you what is in the oven for late lunch today, Fish Pie - have been hankering after for ages think it's all the fish talk in babble that did it.
I'm off now folks to do mundane things, can I have the trout back please, its for dinner tonight. Bye
Sorry FMitch....trying to keep my temper with my 'babies' today so needed to let off steam....they were only virtual tins honey......lol
thats OK tbear, know you are having a rough time. HAve a virtual scream, you should feel better after that. trotter - trout carefully passed back intact, now wrapped in foil with whitewine, challots and herbs, just bake for 20-30 mins and serve with seasonal veg.
Trotters what time do you want me in Bolton....I only drink red wine tho????
FMitch might just have that virtual scream in a while......
No probs tbear, slides a large glass of rioja over to keep you going.
MMmmmmMMmmmmmmmmmmm wine AAAAAaaaaRRRRrGGGGGGGGGg kids
FMitch catch you later
TTFN tbear take care.
why you lot so sickly sweet to each other
why not?
hmmm, maybe nobody is left in the chat room
You are not alone!
{waves] Hi Hurshy, I"m here, just not awake.
wotcha, Hurshy :) I'm sort of here... on again, off again, kinda thing. Hi Haz, too.
Hi Mari - I have succumbed and paid my money to join
Good afternoon all.
well, while you're here, can you help me finish? i did all but thirty last night. i need a clue for ic7.
Hi just not communicating too well right now, trying to fnd the last few words
ic + consonant + su4/5 reversed.
ic7/36 add part of proper name for womb
got it, thanks!
and perhaps au6?
Hi all just poppedin for a few mins to say Happy Birthday to miyavi has she been in today ?
au 6/24 - au plus with reference to plus you and me
if you have the au5/12 above it, Hurshy, add a 'u' before the last letter.
a thousand thank yous
yw.... clue courtesy of Sha, earlier in the log, though.
I'm having a hard time with one of the su5 's ... I have the one resembeling fat, could someone clue me on the other? (and tell me if the 6 is plural, ta).
never mind, got it
si 5/12?
Hurshy - French for Mr, but minus the mon
ugh, i'm beating myself up over how many of these i think i ought to have gotten last night.
the su6/27 is a pledge or formal promise
Thanks, Haz... I actually had the 6, was just having a dense moment! (two if you count asking if the 's' word was plural, when it's the only 's' in the grid, lol).
Not to worry - dense moments happen to all of us!
*grins* yeah, apparently I like to have mine in a public forum ;)
LOL trish!!!!
argh, 2nd ta 5/12?
Haven't got either of them yet and I only have 14 words left to find urgh
ta5/12 black sticky substance put on roads + wedding vow... I **
Hey mac :)
Hi Trish
mac - is that clue for the 1st or 2nd 5/12?
The first ta5/12 means silent
second one
done, argh, i don't think i should start them at the flip, it makes me irritable.
and my icon, though extremely artificial looking, is making me want cake.
Trish 20 left to find here, how 'bout you?
ok, i've got some chocolate. i'll stop being grouchy now.
6, mac ... 4 re's, and a leftover h & t
Hello everyone! : )
trish - have you got an he 4 that sounds like throw?
lol, hurshy, if anything can substitute for the amount of sugar in bright pink cake, chocolate can.
nice Trish :)
hey lola!
Hi Lola :) Yeah, mac, but they're killing me. Hurshy... I don't think so... ?
trish - it sounds like an hu4 to throw
thanks for my last h, hurshy :)
let's see if i can guess the t as effectively - ta4 - like fortune telling cards but drop last letter? or perhaps ti5 - color with an extra letter in 4th position?
I can't seem to monkey the ja4 : (...please help??
LOL! Just did it! : D
They're all vowels, Lola
ja4 - add...add...the initials of the host of "lifestyles of the rich and famous"
oh shoot, and i was so proud of that clue
lol, no, got those hurshy... good guesses, but my last ones are usually the dumb, obvious ones (eg, I'm missing 3 of 4 re5s :/ )
Aww, thanks anyway haz and hurshy....great clues! : )
those re5's are not obvious: i assume you have the 12 then there's...sailing race minus the g to do one's shoelaces over again and same as that except change last vowel
ta 4/5 greek letters? or mexican food?
Trish Do you have the re5 that's... re + spanish aunt?
Okay, I cannot believe I didn't have the shoelace re, dear god! Thanks Hurshy & Mac, got them now :)
ic7 anyone? Hi Lola, long time no see!
Hey boysaway! Where you been?? : )
Playing in the background mostly
How's Anj these days?
c'mon trish, i'm dying of curiosity - which t is/was it?
lol, sorry hurshy... my last was the ta4 greek letters... thanks to you and Mac, that's me done :)
Boysaway, funny you should ask that, he is not a happy bunny today. Hungover and feeling very sorry for himself...lol! : D
Congrats Trish :)
aha! third guess, not so bad. people do usually give people three guesses for things. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woot! Well done trish : )
ic7?
ic plus part of proper name for womb
see, that's why i didn't do it, bc haz gave it to me, and i thought she would do it. :)
thanks... it feels worthy of congrats today, too ;) that grid was surprisingly sticky. Are you wanting any clues, Mac (or anyone), or finishing up by yourself?
Thanks Haz
You're welcome!
I'm good here for now Trish, thanks anyway
sigh. long weekend almost over. suppose i should go do things i've been putting off all weekend...
2xt & 4xu to find what a way to finish. Trish you are fight this grid is sticky!! but I will find the little "blighters".
sh5/14 and sh5/12 following it?
sh 5/14 is s+he 4/6. I don't have the 5/12 yet.
to cut off sheep's wool and a small sharp piece of broken pottery, oft spelled with an a, but in this case with an e
Quick question not babble related (forgive me). Who are considered the favourites to win the SuperBowl?
first ur5 - add 3 vowels
okay :) *scritches the panda ears* the clues are in good hands here, anyway :) enjoy the rest of the weekend! so long everyone!
sh 5/12, more socially timid
See ya Trish - have a good one :)
oh, i see, i got mixed up
bye trish!
Bye Trish!!!!
how many total word today?
149
149 words
140 words today lol
fmitch - i don't think there is a clear-cut favorite
'bye trish! : )
but i think there are a lot of puns going about how this is an Extra Large Super Bowl bc it is the 40th, XL.
thanks hursh
in8 anyone?
any help please with the oo's cant find either of them??
Hey Sis, how are you? you and Anj been partying again?
for the oo6 - add 1000 bits of info on a computer, only change the b to a c. then pl for the 7
in8 - you don't want to take two medicines that might in8 in a bad way...
typical as soon as I said that I got them!!
ah, then, deeha, you have pulled a hurshy.
hurshy, thanks - I'm so dumb!
Hi sis! lol, not me...just Anj ; )
su 5/14?
Its a long long time since I have pulled anyone!!!!
hurshey you are on a roll there, must be all that sugar!!
you know, i think i was the very first person to get in8 in today's grid. it makes me proud.
su 5/14 like english T**** architecture, but change the T to an S

Hi All - LOL Lotti - I've ironed today too! Hubby normally does it but he has decorating duties -so I've risked having awful head & neck pain tomorrow. It's so long since I did loads that I quite enjoyed it - but the novelty had worn off by the time I'd finished!
I'm done too, last 20 words took me as long as the rest of the bllomin grid.
LOL, Meg, I never iron. Just hang it up straight outta the dryer.

LOL! I didn't say we were ACTING like nuns! Heaven forbid! : D
I've never got the hang of getting things out of the dryer before they're baked so I avoid it like the plague! I always had to spend hours dampening it all again to iron it! My best friend when I ironed was the spray waterbottle. Made everything iron nicely.

hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii mamabear
From the stats how do you know how many points each word is worth ??? Help
the second number - after the slash. four letter words are the points right off the tiles. five letter words, you double it. six, triple, etc.
so like if you could get "tract" in this puzzle, which you can't, it would be 5/12 - because each letter is worth 1 except c which is worth 2, for a total of 6, which gets doubled to 12.
get it, norma?
Whoa steady Hurshy....the math teacher is beginning to show!!!! lol :)
*blush*
Thanks for your help, are all the words and values posted somewhere???
;o)
yes, if you go to the babblers anonymous link on the right side of the page, look at the first post under general.
Thanks Hurshy - I thought everyone was brill and I was being thick I couldn't find all this information anywhere Thanks again :-)
no prob - we all had to be told once upon a time :)
te 5 & 6?
add precipitation minus last letter. then pl
Thank you Hurshy -- to my rescue again!
*solemn bow*
Hi, everyone, movieman here!!!! Could ne1 help me with the ca7/32..... I'd be ever so grateful......
Sorry, I meant the ca7/36........
start with emporer julius, only move the a to the end and stick a u in its place
emperor - doh
shh don't tell anyone i did that
Thanx hurshy......
re 6/21?
harp - put your leftovers in the microwave to...
ur 6/24?
if you have the five before it, change "i" to you and me
ty hurshy. I seem to have forgotten all about the "re" as a prefix!
don't blame you harp, it's a painful thing, we all want to block it out
Howsabout the in8 then hursh.....?
you don't want to take two meds that have a bad in8
I don't suppose you'd believe me if I said that I don't have a microwave? Or that I cook a fresh gourmet meal every night and take the leftovers to the food bank, so the idea of R*** leftovers is foreign to me?
well you do realize what they do with the leftovers AT the food bank, at least - you don't suppose they make the homeless eat cold food all the time...
ur 6/24, please?
busted!
hurshy just gave a clue for it, cybernan :)
cnan - posted clue right after your first request
cyber, take a distant planet, change the n to a vowel.
Thank you Hurshy -- my apologies -- didn't see your first post.
'sok!
My last three -- any help appreciated!.. he 6/21 ic 7/36 su 5/14
he 6 - i'm cold, turn on the....
ic 7/36 add word for womb minus first letter
su 5/14 like English T*** architecture, but change the T to an S
Thank you very much Hurshy **cheers** -- how is it that we most often miss the obvious (he 6)?
congrats to you anyway cybernan!
Thanks to Hurshy......... I am done!
am stuck and cant find any words
how many have you got, mega?
Mega -- when I'm stuck, I usually split my screen and paste Brandyjack's list into a spreadsheet, fill in the word I have and work from there.
14 words am new to this game
and, you are a boy, correct? have you ever taken karate or anything like that? one word is the name of the school where you go for that.
Another tip: once you find a word try adding different prefixes and endings to it -- often you will come up with more words that way.
ya i took karte but broke my ankle
thanx cybernan
but do you recall what the school was called?
one word left, help! ac 5/12?
nope
harp - harrison ford's job is ac****, cut off the g
why?
ac 5: sounds like a drug --- to do + opp. out
ok, have you found the person who seats you in a theater or at a wedding? us5.
Done! Yay! Thank you all!
Mega -- when you really love something, you ad*** it.
done!
congrats, harp!
and mega- just set yourself a goal of finding a greater percent of the words each day - don't expect to finish the whole thing right away.
puppybowl is showing on the dicovery channel one of the dogs is my teachers lol
Mega do you have the ca that you draw from a deck?
i got like 250 point and 27 words last time
nope
but since each puzzle has a different number of words, try keeping track of how many you get divided by how many there were that day.
It takes a while to get used to the game -- don't give up. Pick one tile and keep looking around it until you find some words.
Take the ca that you draw from a deck (it might be an ace or a jack) and change the last letter for another word.
In fact you can get two more words by changing the last letter of the ca 4 plus a plural
I'm off for my lunch and to watch the rest of the curling. Bye everyone, and thanks again, Hurshy :)
yw
bye bye cybernana thx for all the advice
ca 6-24 anyone?
Yo, hursh, give us a clue for the ac4 plz.....
You're welcome, Mega -- hope it helps.
ca6/24 - means a pause in a line of poetry or speaking, reminiscent of Romans Julius and Augustus, with a vowel at the end
ac4 - what harrison ford is, in boston ca 6/24 person who makes something happen
vi - that's the 7

southern weather here to babbler - i've got a thumper as well!!!! 8)
how much weather difference IS there btw the north and the south of england?
hey Ren! wow, that's a cake and a half!! :D
Awww ((((*hugs*)))) for Ren too :D
right babbler - thought we'd have a real blow-out!!!1
thanks lotti...8)
It varies Hurshy.....The further north you go, the colder it tends to be......like Scotland is normally the first to get the snow!!!
only a couple of degrees or thereabouts, hurshy, When we talk of north and south, we're really only talking a couple of hundred miles, but cos of the way the land lies, and the sea around us, there's a big difference. The north tends to have damp cold, and the south drier cold. Would you agree, Lotti?
Yeah, it does seem to be that way.
Am I being sooo thiiick that I cannot get the oa5/10 or is it just the dinner wine!!! ...a teeny weeny help might not go amiss if anyone cares to offer pleeeaase...thank you, thank you ,thank you
oa5 - a slang term for a western movie.
or think of a grain and add an ending as if of a person who does something
Babbler must apologise for disappearing last nite but was working away at those last 26 and my connection was lost

Oh, well... don't I just feel like a doofus for not seeing that?
it's Miyavi for Miyavi-Fans birthday
hurshy ...i have it now thanks to you
You Brits will be happy to know that I'm going to an real English pub for fish and chips tonight. It's called Stoney's (in Wilmington, Delaware). Owned by a transplanted Londoner who used to be a record producer. He worked with the Rolling Stones, Spice Girls, etc. Has a platinum Stones record displayed in the bar.
For you youngsters, "records" are those large round, black vinyl discs that you see in second-hand shops.
Judi make sure you put salt and vinegar on them.....and ask the 'londoner' for eels
does anyone have a clue for the last or ultimate re5/10....i have the re+neckwear...please
do you have the "nuclear" one?
Tbear - salt and vinegar are available. However, being yanks, we prefer tartar sauce and/or ketchup. With any luck, he'll have sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Everything he has is to die for.
what are eels? Do you mean the fishy things???
Judi......fill your boots.... Aknitter..yes
you EAT them!!???!!!
eels as in elvers
Er, no eels (thank goodness). However, he does offer mushy peas, yorkshire pudding, and bangers and mash.
GoBraves as far as i know i have'nt
had to google elvers --- gross
eels?????
Aknitter....not personally....lol
I've had sushi eel. How do you folks prepare them, Tbear?
do you eat them like spaghetti? All I can think of is a seagull slurping them down head first and in one gulp
anyone know the number of words in today's puzzle?
But they are Londonium speciality
braves there 149
149 gobraves
GoBraves 149
149 today
they get pretty big aknitter - in many parts of Asia and South America they are cut into round steaks along the lenth of the body and broiled or cooked into stews
grazie all
I say it again --- EEEEEEEUUUUUUU gross lol
Hi all -- happy birthday, Miyavi fan!
yeah, I'm with you on that one. I've seen people fishing for them in Louisiana and Mississippi even
Yuk. I would think deep-frying eel would be the only way to go. Even then, I think I'd have to be starving to try it. Eel sushi was a dare ( and not a pleasant one).
Hiya, can I get a clue for the re 6/21, please?
what a microwave does well, chic
Chic = warm it up again.
i've eaten some pretty weird things but ... eel? Don't think so. When I was in Japan my host family used to like to slip in weird things and not tell me what they were until after I tried them UGH!
Chic, it's what you do to warm something up again.
what kind of eels? are they salt water, farm raised?
re - he 4/5

Very nice. Jewelry always works.
MIyavi, your birth number 'personal' year beginning today is actual 13, so there you go. It's a numerology thing, actually turning into a 4 personal year --- a good year for material growth as well as spiritual. A year for building on your successes of the past 3 years. You go!
lol Peri...not to mention three dudes (and I mean duuuuudes) from my favourite band! and I love all the j-rock icons, fankoo! XD

Oh noW there's a theme- a photo of the age you were happiest!
Au contraire, Sandr, I wish to be older than I am so I can throw in the school stuff and get to Halajuku with my friends! (idealistic fool I am) and of course, once we get there, we'll be spotted as the rockers we are and get signed up to a record label and we'll tour Japan and I'll meet Miyavi and all the rest of my favourite bands, and, and, and... and then we'll all live haaappily ever after XD
Snowy, but that time could be still to come!
rock on kid n keep the school stuff ull miss it when u eventually leave
Wishing you were older only lasts till you get into your thirties Miy and then you spend the rest of your life wishing you were younger! LOL

Finished at last, stopped to watch a 'Miss Marple' mystery, and you really have to concentrate. Not interested in the Superbowl, although it is showing on TV over here, but then I'm not interested in Soccer of Rugby either.
thanks doxy
congrats exwren
Peri - Doxie says sorry she is slow today she is holding baby
kimmie, that's okay, I really appreciate her clues
both se5/10's - add a vowel to end of previous se4's
congrats to you ExWren
and i appreciate her getting baby to sleep.
just got baby to sleep and don't dare put her down
If it's a big grid tomorrow, I'm not going to play. It's choir practice on Mondays so I'm out all evening. We are learning a new repertoire for a concert trip to Germany in April.
that sounds wonderful
I'm jealous Ex. I wish I could go too.
si5/12 and si5/10
Hi All - Just checking in to see who pops in during half time --- I am busy sorting baby clothes to see if I need to buy anything -- SB on in background --- Loved the commercial for FedEx with the cavemen!! ROFL!! :D
Hi Grey Woulf
Hi everyone. I'm here but mostly watching football. Ex the trip to Germany sounds great. What are you singing?
si5/12 - another with lots of vowels si5/10 - an Indian instrument
hi grey woulf. when was the caveman commercial
hi GW
found the si5/10, too tired to finish, see you all tomorrow
Hi kimmie -- it was on around the end of 1st qtr, I think
hi wolfie!!!
bye peri. see you tomorrow
by peri hagn
I loved the caveman commercial. Also thought the Dr. Seuss NFL commercial was great and the Burger King Whopperettes. The magic fridge is clever.
darn i was indisposed at that time
Hi peri -- bye peri (*hug*) Hi doxy -- how's the baby?
finally sleeping in my arms. she has been awake most of the day and is very tired
Musicmom-- so do you think they made a bad call on the TD? -- personally I think so (and remember my house is for the Steelers :) )
and mommy is happy she is finally asleep
kimmie -- are you the mommy?
YES!! It was terrible. He had that ball tucked low and in the replay you could see him move it out after the play was blown dead. Oh well. 2 more quarters. Maybe that will fire up the Seahawks.
GW, are you talking about the flag on the play?
i am. i love it most of the time.
Ben R went to our biggest rival college. No way can I root for him. <g> I only live four hours away from Pittsburgh.
doxy -- yes -- to my uneducated eye - it looked like it had never passed the plane of the endzone
Congratulations, kimmie! --- that's how I feel about my new son too ;D
watching halftime show. does this guy never age?
never...
ty GW. It is hard because baby's dad has been away for a while and i think she just wants him and is afraid to fall asleep or she might miss him.
Hi musicmom, we sing a broad selection of light to serious songs, show songs, Mozart & Bach, Carpenters, Abba, Phantom and Les Miserables
ren must be a stones fan
Nope I just told Greg these guys will be performing in wheelchairs. I think it is cool.
doxy -- it's all the drugs -- they are pickled (lol)
LOL
no not really...i was once...he just runs and works out.
lmao
That is really cool Ex. Have a great rehearsal and trip.
exwren, that sounds like such fun. lots of work, but fun
So how is this grid? -- I haven't started yet -- I turned in after the flip and have not been online til now :)
not too bad if you can concentrate.
yes - it does take some concentration
Then I will have to wait til later -- hard to concentrate with Kristianna insisting on her computer vids as well ;)
evr1 keeps watching the game and/or commercials. i don't think i have found a word in 10 min.
Can't really give a fair assessment since my attention has been divided since I sat down here.
what do you need kimmie?
all finished
i only have 40 words so far i keep asking doxie for clues. she has the print out of the a-z
way to go doxy!!!!!!!!!
I have the 2 letter list. can't finish without it.
and i keep looking at the tv
doxy will brb.
I probably should give up for tonight... between the SB, my 5 year old picking the longest fairy tale in history for her bedtime story and my older daughter wanting to have my input on her outfit for tomorrow (that never happens unless I want my attention elsewhere.) But I'm tenacious at best so I'm going to continue to press on.
Which faerie tale?
hagn mom. cu
silly me--is there a game on? I've been skiing since church!
Guhleesh - It's an Irish tale about a simple lad who rides with the fairies on All Hallow's Eve.
It's a great story, but I was in the mood to read something shorter tonight. She loves it because it is full of princesses and horses. Her two fav. loves.
I'll have to check that one out, MM -- I don't recognise it by name, but I am big into faerie tales of all cultures -- esp British Isles
hey harpjane
She picked it at the library. It had two criteria she looks for most - a horse on the front and a billion words on each page<G>
musicmom, that sounds like a great book.
I can empathise with you, mm -- Kristianna has hit the phase of asking for me to narrate faerie tales so she can sneak in staying up for an extra 5 mins :)
Just a minute - I'll get the information from the cover. ...<walking across the room>
The full title is Guleesh and the King of France's Daughter It is a Magic Lantern Fairy Tale book. Great illustrations in this one too.
Thanks mm -- will definitely look it up at my library!
well i gotta go. doxy put baby down and she is waking up. gotta feed her and get mself some dinner.
Time for a late dinner here as well, kimmie Will be back later, everyone :) (*Hugs for all*)
Bye guys. The game is almost back on.
Have there been any wardrobe malfunctions or anything? I don't get the channel that carries the game.
they played it safe this year. Had the Rolling Stones perform
Nope just a really bad call on a challenged play.
it's been really quite this afternoon. I think most people are watching the game. Steelers just scored a 75 yd TD
A wardrobe malfunction for Mick? Who would notice?
too true.
game currently 14-3 steelers
Who's ahead?
will see you later at the flip.
seahawks scored . . . now 14-10
They should have gone for 2. They didn't have anything to lose.
Is there anyone here who can give me a clue for ea 5/10? Sorry to interrupt the comercials.
to feed ones face + er
ea 5 -- one who consumes food
Ahah! Thanks!
Hi all. How goes it? Are there any nonfootball watchers such as myself here? I'm just waiting for it to be over so I can see Dr. McDreamy on Grey's Anatomy!!!
i'm shopping for my dress up photos
not into football (or commercials) here!!
all done! later, folks!
way to go uni!!!
Hubby had to go out of town and I will admit to be being glad just because that meant no superbowl viewing for me, even though it's our 18th anniversary.
smithchick, I'm with you!
happy anniversary smithchic!!!!
happy anniversary smithchick. probably better that he is away otherwise you'd be stuck watching football on your anniversary
co 7/32 hint anyone?
Happy Anniversary. I think watching football is a great way to spend an anniversary<sarcasm>
Thank you:) Sometimes it amazes me that we've been married that long and other times it seems like surely we should be bumping our 50th soon.
co7-- Be buried together. Ewwww.... Does anyone have a clue for the in6?
co 7/32 is the same as the one above it + ter
co 4 + cross consonent + er
ty all, new word for me. looked it up but there was no definition
well, I guess since to inter means to bury, then to co-inter would mean bury two?
that sounds like a good definition
I need some ta clues - anyone?
any ta in particular? i have a few
I need both ta 5/12's. ty
ta 5/12 -- implied by or inferred from actions or statements
2nd ta 5/12 = to be late (as in late for class) + hoop
don't have the other yet
brb have to long onto the server at the office
Well, I've just spent countless minutes looking for my last s4. It turns out it was one that I thought I'd typed in hours this morning when I got on here the first time. Pass the fish:) I'm down to my last-in6. Clues?
haven't got that one yet, i am only to the ha's
Smithchick -- to be complete/together
Yeah! Just found it. Finished... Anyone need any clues before I go eat fattening food that I'm supposed to be avoiding because I'm on a diet?
thanks aknitter !
i can not figure out that in 6
the in 8 is hiding too
They both end with the word that means what you do on a stage. Does that help?
what I would do on stage? i'd make an ass out of myself -- don't think you meant that
what a thespian does on stage
LOL knitter, good one.
knitter, the word bends back on itself.
one mean all together (6) and the other means the social contact
found the in 8, still hunting the 6
take out the middle
Take out a vowel and a consonant from the middle of the 8 word.
found it!!!
"acts" surprised to have found it!!
aw, take a bow... :-)
YEAH KNITTER!
i prefer to curtsey ( i know i spelled that wrong)
helllooooooooooo --- listens for echo, am i alone?
as any body got any clues for do 4/10 do 4/5
and co 7/32
hi a knitter. One of my greatest fears is to be stuck in cyberspace all alone. I'm here but I just started so I can't be of any help.
I'm here. Need to read the log - went to put my jammies on.
do 4/10 -- karate hang out co 7 - is the co 4 +ter there are several do 4/5' s which do you need
co7 ... I"m taking a wild stab at this ... to bury together?
hello mas, i have the same fear, that I will be lost and alone in cyber space
ak - that would be a good movie..."lost in cyber space"....
i hear sinister music playing in the background
we're lost in cyberspace....it's dark and we're alone...or are we......
pardon me while i hide under my laptop!!!
is there a giant mouse somewhere?
wait for me...i'll join you!!!
there could be...i don't want to know!!!
more sinister music, screen fades to black (or worse the windows blue screen of death)
SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i'm into the sh's, odd group of words
ca5/16
how will we get back? who has ever passed back into the real world once the blue screen of death has taken over???
ca 5/16. what a witch would cook in minus the ron
hate that blue screen, makes my stomach flip when ever it shows. that and the safe mode clock
ty
28 seconds.....25 seconds......
that was the safe mode clock not the sb clock
I'm going to look for a sad face image for the rest of the evening. Bummer
hmmmm ren you were right on with the game clock. It's over. Poor Jojo.
right mm - i see that it's over....she should be proud they made it to the super bowl!!! that's a great accomplishment!!!
is there an sh 5/14 clue floating about?
sh 5 - what you do to sheep to remove their wool
put an s before a group of cows.
nope not that one
thanks mm
sh 5/14 = s+ a he** of cattle
Less outgoing than the other non-outgoing person 5/12 or What someone would do to a sheep 5/12
Ooops should have read better. I was changing my icon to a sad face. refresh to see it.
oh mm - that is a sad face......8(
shall i pass the tissues?
No thanks. I have a brand new box of Puffs and a waste basket beside me.
I could use a clue for Lu6/24
lu 4 + er (more green foliage)
ty
brb
i've only 12 words left but i am losing steam
I have 27 left but am thinking to turn it in for the night. Problem is, I'll have to go upstairs. I won't be able to stay down here and not mess with looking for words. Okay, I'll keep looking.
oh keep me company
How about the ti 6/18?
ti 6/18 -- the person who ti 4's (colors my hair)
Last night I started putting s on everything. Tonight I need to put er on everything. Sheesh. Thanks Knitter.
i'm back...
ok we'll stop talking about you now ;)
was it soemthing good???? LOL
i'll never tell
The two oo words?
oooo those have to do with eggs and people and ... oo + rhymes with sight
oo + respelling of si 4/5 then make it plural for 7
how's about the te 5/10? please and ty
I definitely would not have found those without clues. Thanks.
I don't have that one yet. Sorry
te + consonant + 1st & 3rd vowel
ty ren
Yeah thanks Ren.
mm - that's the saddest little face i've ever seen....
I know I think I need to change it. It is even depressing me. It's kind of funny how sad it is.
refresh for something less distressing.
much better mm, it suits you
that's much better mm.....
Yep It's still black <g> I'm really bummed the Seahawks didn't win<g> I take my football very seriously. Greg says it's an illness. hehehhe
it's ok mm - i put on a black dress for the occassion...sorry the seahawks didn't win...

Ohhhh I love the dress Ren. Very classy.

My glam rock icon was a Barbie but you couldn't see it very well.
evening babblers -- just popped on long enough to get dressed up for tomorrows icon theme!!
dr5/14?
Looks pretty Eva. Remind me again, what is tomorrow?
Full Evening Dress, according to babblers profile. :)
dr 5/14 -- a crust of tiny crystals lining a rock cavity, usually composed of the same minerals that occur in the rock.
Okie dokie!
dr + 5th vowel + snakey consonant + 2nd vowel
TY both!
is that you and bf in the picture evanadine?
no, just me + a friend
Okay all. I'm out. I'm not done but it is bed time for mm
very nice pix of you both
thanks -- its from my company christmas party from a few years ago...we decided to treat it like prom...hehe
that is a good idea!!!
ok - i'm changing b ack to my haute couture now that mm has gone to bed..... nite mm sorry i missed you -
people would show up in anything from jeans to work clothes to dead-on formal, so we went all out...he even got me a corsage...hehe
our parties are always very formal. it's nice to really go formal at least once in a while...i would rather wear jeans though
How about the he 4/5? I have the one like Superman but need the last one
quick he4/5 sounds like you're throwing something
hi + 2nd vowel + snakey consonent
oops he 4/5 = sounds like when you through something
going back to work...8)
has any body got any clues for si 5/12 si 5/10 se 5/12
si 5/10 = musical instrument from india (the kind rvi shankar played) si 5/12 = si + 2nd & 5th vowel + hook conconant
se 5/12 = se + place wher horses or cars run = last letter
mm - i thought you went to bed earlier...you get under those covers and go to sleep!!! 8)
can u be more specific with the clues im no good at them plz give me a clue for se 5/12 n si 5/10
se + the word for running a competition where the one ho comes in first is the winner
si + a sticky black substance
Hi everyone! Back to finally work on the grid :)
can u give me a bit more hlp with them clues plz
OK, the Seahawks lost, but it wasn't a blowout, and I am still proud of them.
hey wolfie hey jojo...we're proud of you!
Hey, JoJo -- it was a well fought battle -- though Kirsten and I both think that the very 1st Steelers TD should have been reversed when it was challenged
can u give me a bit more hlp with them clues plz
billie - si 5/10 = si + consonant that looks like a cross + 1st vowel + r
hint on the 1st ur5? please?
Woulfie: To be fair, I heard the description of what the white line means, and the Steelers did make the touchdown. All they had to do was touch the white line, which they did. However, the Boulwarre TD for Seahawks should have been TD, the Steeler guy touched him first, and then Boulwarre touched him back, that should have been pass interference by the Steelers. But what is, is what is, so be it.
ur + 1st ,2nd & 3rd vowels +
JoJo -- from how they explained it, the ball has to pass the line, not the player, but I agree with you on the other -- that is how it seemed to my extremely non sports savvy perspective
Thank you ren :)
y/w 8)
okay, 5 to go, I'm giving it 5 more minutes - any help with the he 6/21, the first se 5/10, te 6/18 or the two ta 4/5's (I have the one that means speaking carefully) - thanks!!
he 6/21 - the thing in your house that keeps you warm
Woulfie: I thought, what I heard, was that all the player had to do was touch the white line, and I think the Steeler's did it. It was very obvious to me and my hubby, that the ref's were definitely for the Steelers, as everyone else in this country was. But, it is over, but am still poppin' my buttons for the Seahawks.
se + consonant + 1st & 3rd vowel
te + the last 3 letters of the se 5 i just gave made plural
JoJo -- they did perform very well -- it seemed like they were feeling a bit nervous going in to halftime, bu they pulled out the stops and gave us a great show after :)
OK, now I need the 1st ur6/24 :D
ta 4/5 = mexican food in a curved shell w/ meat, cheese, lettuce & tomato ta 4/5 = ta + you and me
Thx Woulfie, I think so too. Still going to the ticker tape ralley for them on Tuesday, when they come home. Thx for all your and Kirsten's support.
ur 6 = ur + 1st, 2nd, & 5th vowels made plural
Renfield, you are the best - NOW i can sleep peacefully. I've been staring at this grid so long . . . .thanks heaps! Gnite!
u r welcome gum... sleep well 8)
Thanks ren, my clever plan of asking only for the 5 backfired on me that time ;D
i think we all tried that wolfie...8)
i've lost an electronic file - i am in the process of going though my cd's....8(
does any 1 have more clues for me ta 4/5 ta 5/12 ta 4/5
Hi all! Who won superbowl... was it the Seattle group?
ta 4/5 = mexican food - folded ftied shell filled w/ meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato ta 5 = word for bing late to class minus the y + hoop letter
Hi mrp -- nope the Pittsburgh Steelers did it again
mrp - the steelers won the game. it was a good foorball game.
Mr. P: No my Seattle Seahawks lost. Am depressed, but will perk up in a few days. Thx for asking.
May I have clues for the first SE 510 and the RE 6 please?
Oh... I understand this is their 4th or 5th superbowl win!! Wow!
ta 4/5 = to speak w/ ta** (sounds like a sharp pin or thumb ta** you might use to pin something on the wall) ta 4/5 = ta + pronoun for you and me
se5/10 take the se4/4 above it and add c to the end
MAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
re6 - re+ he4
no wait. I need the last SE 5/10, sorry.
se5/10 take the se4 above it and add 2nd vowel to the end
se 5 = se + cross consonant + w/ latin ending (or 1st & 2nd vowels)
Morning everyone, this is my 3rd attempt at this grid and I'm still stuck on the au6? Help?????!!!
au6 take the last au5 and put a 'u' before the last letter
thanks MP
... or as lickety would say... 'shove a u in there'!
Thanks ren, mrpres. JoJo, I'm so sorry your team didn't win and I hope you feel better about it soon. It must have been exciting anyway. But sad.
y/w mab
Night yall.
su5/14?
I have a little question.... about my name....
ask away, mrp
Mab: Thx. I am still proud of them, they fought a hard battle, no excuses, but the officiating stunk. But, we are where we are, and so, I will be good. Just a bit PO'd, about the officiating, but I guess that is just life.
su5/14 su + what you open to enter a house minus a vowel
su + front or car **** = 1 of the hoops
ok mrp...ask away....
nite mab....see you later
there have been questions about my handbag colour and the 'mr' part of my name.... comments about it from some...As my friends are all here, should I be changing it to 'mrs' or just let it lie!?
I have no problem with it, mrp --- if you like it, keep it :)
well mrp = your name could be mrp resident.....so there would ne no issue...right?

Mr.P: We all know you as Mr. President, let it lie. Who cares? Not me. You are very smart, and willing to share your knowledge ~~ to me you are Mr. President.
of course if the mrp stood for mental resident patient...then saying you were mr. president wouldn't matter either....LOL
