My love and I never go for the commercial celebrations. We find our own way of making it special, and money usually doesn't come into that. I got a very sweet and funny card from him. And since he managed to forget his lunch for 3 days in a row now, I left him about 6 notes this morning to remind him. On his glasses, his wallet, his keys, the coffee and the door... :) He has to start very early each morning, but I am certain he had a laugh. :D

I started out the same way, dalmatian. I was more than halfway before I started finding 7s and 6s. This is a tricky grid.
It's always a relief to get the longer words out of the way, I always feel.

lola, sorry about the car. Had the same experience myself. And,to add insult to injury, the police charged me for the towing to the police yard, and a daily fee for "storage" - felt like I was robbed twice.

Thanks eva. I'm going to have the same thing. The ignition has been damaged so they've towed it to a recovery yard. Just waiting to see what the damage is and how much to fix that. More than anything it's the inconvenience of having to deal with police (who were amazing, btw) and insurance companies before I had my breakfast! But hey, I've had worse things happen, it's not the end of the world! : )

Many years ago I had a cara accident in which a brand new car was totalled, and as I looked at the shiny pieces of engine on the pavement my firts thought (after-"Wow, I'm still alive!") was that our 19 year old cat had come home from the hospital the day before and was going to survive. Much more important. As much as possible have the insurance people take care of things-god knows we pay them for it!

lola From listening to my friend describe some of the horror stories I would be worried too. The kids here where I live are extremely polite, including the teens. The join clubs, help in the community and wave at you as you pass by in the car or walk on the street...big difference!

Well Evan - you wouldn't have to never speak to her again. Just be very careful about making plans with her. If you communicate with her that well, I would try to explain to her how hurt you were. Maybe she doesn't realize what she is doing.

When I make candies for family, I just use a double boiler and melt chocolate chips w/ 1/2 tsp evap milk. Goes on and dries firm (not messy), but everone says it tastes good!

Transmission problems. For about a month, sometimes when you put it in reverse then into drive, it would not go anywhere. Had to downshift and play with it until it kicked in gear. Last Friday it just stopped doing anything. Had to have it towed...

Well, Anj, they replaced an ignition switch in the steering column yesterday and kept it overnite for "observation". Ran it this morning and thought it was OK, but then went to park it and it would not move (like it did for me). They said they will rebuild the trans and update it with all current new parts....
Well, if I'm getting a new ring I must get a manicure first... No, really, I just have to get some work done but a manicure sounds much better! Peace and hugs to all Babblers :)

The ignition switch job was $290. They said to do the trans work would be another $1,600. I have not talked to them. The husband is. I told him to find out about what kind of guarantee/warranty they are giving. It is a reputable transmission place here.

Something I used to say when my children were babies.... especially my son (GW - you might want to not read this).... he did not sleep through the night for 2 1/2 YEARS. No exaggeration. Now when I look back, the DAYS were forever, but the YEARS flew by.
