refresh chic
thanx, ren. 309, yipes!
jee, that's a very cool site, saw someone mention it here earlier today - i got all caught up in the scifi short stories --- the multi-player pop game is alot like the tangleword that i play
Oooo. I don't know if I have the attention span for this grid.... Oh! Chic's car is on my calendar!
if it was you that mentioned it, thx very much
That's how I found it too...Very fun and addictive also.
m8/45
every time I put a new word in it refreshes itself. What's up with that?
Try refreshing the screen or going out and coming back..
here are some stats for the st... enjoy st5,12 st6,21 st5,12 st5,10 st6,21 st5,12 st5,12 st7,36 st8,55 st5,10 st4,5
I think it is de 5/14 possessed..;-)
So is my daughter...but she's still asleep...lol
chic have you tried to close that screen and open a new one?
go 7/36
go7/44 x 2
ah mr. pres ---- those are 'hard to find' lol
absolutely helen!!!
:)
you can't find a go7/44... you generally get go7/36
There are two go7/36
yes, ren, it's working fine now...
chic - that is good...i've had that prob before...
I think, Mrpres, you and helen are messing with me.
there is a go 7/44 jee
no7/40
em8/50 em9/782 em9/66
Renfield, I've found two
movieman - you have a 2nd go 7/44?
A singular and a plural
Wow, you guys are fast!!!
jee, why do you say that?
there are two go7/44 and two go7/36
thanks - didnt see the plural
The long words are flying out quickly!!!
mrp, care to give a clue for the em 8 & 9's?
em8 - corrections to text... then plural and past tense for the 9s
Easier to find the go7/44 here than other places. :)
em8 - here is the dictionary def... To make textual corrections in
sorry if my clue was 'wrong'
Yea! I got an m9/66!
so far it hasn't helped me :-o
chic e + plural word for male dudes + word for specific month/day/year then make it plural
chic ... if you change something you am*** it... change the first letter to e.... then add the past tense of 'eat'
Okay, I got them!
cool :)
Mrpres, did you know that word before tonight?
these words all run off the same meaning 'devil' de5/14 de8/50 de9/72 de8/55 de8/50
Whiz... the em5 was known to me, but not the biggies
I have to say that I am impressed by your brilliance.
200 & still going
I have to say I am impressed by the url my husband has supplied me.... same stats as Bab Anon... only I have them now... Any one else want them??
I gotta stop for sleep, leaving it for now with 98 to go. Catch you all later!
later movieman
sure mr.p, that would be great
mrp...we must bow to your husband
http://www.writely.com/View.as px?docid=bccpk6gfhxhw4 take out the spaces... it only gives you first two letters and word length/score... hope that is ok??
mrp, is that updated regularly? if so, I can add it to the Babble resource page.
Over half way -- will do better in the morning! good night everyone :)
Angel...do you think it would be ok?? I don't want to step on anyones toes....
see you later nan!!
'nite c-nan. I also must leave all you babble wizards for the much needed beauty sleep... (((Hugs))) to all...
later nan
nite chic... see you later

Morning dear gang :)
good morning sprite!
Sizable grid today... is it fun?
morning sprite/ evening here!
Morning Sprite.
mucho fun sprite!!!
*jumps in to enjoy* How are you all doing on this lovely day/night/whatever?
i'm just enjoying the early morning hours and watching a christopher lee movie - real scary
mr. pres, i found it, thx, looks like a useful site too
Ah, Christoffer Lee... beautiful actor. Enjoy!
Angel... does it work for you now??
Wow! How did it get to be so late?
jee...ticl tock...tick tock...
helen... glad it worked!! It helps when I can't wait for BJ's stats to be posted...
All by itself, JeeWhiz, all by itself :)
mrp, yes, it works. I've noted the url and I'm going to watch it for a couple of days.
angel... he can update it at the start of every puzzle... I will BEG him!
I don't know, Sprite, these big grids intimidate me.
since anyone can conceivably access writely, I don't know that it would hurt anything to include it as an alternate for the resource page. I'm going to consider it.
OK, thanks
besides, merely posting the link is not forcing anyone to make use of it.
true true... it's not like I am posting the answers or anything LOL (he could, but I would kill him)
mrp, have you seen my resource page?
This early in the grid and already resource pages? LOL
Angel... yes! My husband showed it to me today! Very nice, very impressive! Full of very useful information'
sprite, haven't touched them yet, and I have only 127 words...
i only have 35 words...i keep watching this movie....
mrp, I'm making those pages for Babblers to have on their hard drives if they want them. I just finished one for GreyWoulf, and one for MamaBear. have several more to do.
oh Angel!!... !! May I have one please??
Hell to all
sure, Mrp. I need your e mail address and what color you like...
wow angel...you do cool stuff!!
Just for curiosity's sake: what's on such a page?
hey
Sprite... my OH has developed a babble tool that gets the stats (like in Bab Anon) in about 15 minutes of the puzzle being posted... he shares it with me and I am sharing it with you guys!
I did that page originally for myself, about three days after I began Babbling..just gathered all I could find into one handy page. then, I decided to see if anyone else wanted to see it so I posted it online.
sprite, go look. there's a link in BabAnon..general...announcing a new Babble resource.
I see, the 2nd letter list, thanks :) And your page, Angelsong?
thanks, Renfield...I enjoy doing the page!
Oh, ok. Never go there, actually... but I guess I can, LOL.
angel - so we e-mail you to the address in your blog?
here's the link to my page (remove the space): http://www. freewebs.com/angelsong/index.h tml
Angelsong: that is terrific! Would love to have such a page too!
well here I am again.... I am trying to block my teens computer from using chat and blocked my own... so I was sending but not receiving or seeing... fixed mine still can not figure out hers. LOL
sprite, I need your e mail address so I can send you the page, and what color you like...
LOL Blaze!
get in line Sprite!! mrpresident1968@ya hoo.com favourite colour - purple!!
ok . . . at 200 words I'm off to dreamland!
It really is funny.... I will need to have my nephew come and set the router thingey.....
renfield, you can e mail me; my e mail is in my Babble profile...or you can let me know color preference and your e mail here. up to you.
mrp, I've added you to my todo list for the page.
Okay, I get in line :) bin _ there@ planet.nl (remove spaces) color: anything moderate will do :)
angel rennyfeld@yahoo.com my favorite void is black but i would settle for purple since it is my mom's favorite color
nite une
Angel, you're an angel :) Blaze, thank God for nephews ;)
renfield, I can certainly do black if you like.
yes......please....
Thanks Angel... have email you too!
ok...now that movie was reallyy scary...horror hotel....shut the front door and get the feet off the floor!!!!
ok Sprite and Renfield. both of you are on my todo list now. this is just my way of contributing to the Babble community.
So renfield... no more distractions, come play babble! LOL
yes sprite...i am....whew...
Why not 'moonies'?
I agree.....
it is because it is an 'often offensive' term I guess!
or it may be because it is derived from a proper name....
there have been more "often offensive" terms in here before and much much worse in my opinion
Or perhaps it needs to be capitalised. Well, whatever, it was a bummer that it wasn't valid ;)
everyone seems to find the resource page useful and attractive. I'm glad!
It's so very beautifully done, Angel! All the info together, even some tips on how to play, I love it. Also gives a very nice answer to the question: "What on earth IS it that you are playing every day???"
it should be a huge help to new players! it took me several days to really figure out how to use some of the resources...which gives me an idea for a brief update.
This is a 'bad' grid. First all those devilish Ds and now I find H8/55 and H8/50 as well.
thank you sprite
there are a couple of de's that try to balance the grid a bit though, Sprite :)
They aren't doing a very good job, though :)
they are kinda puny :)
LOL!
i was just reading back now, where is this resource page everyone is talking about?
helen, look in BabAnon...General...announcing a new Babble Resource. there is a link there for the resource page.
ty angel, i will look at it now
I have the feeling you will be very busy in times to come, Angel! ;)
I love it, so it isn't really a chore, sprite.
I think it is great.
sprite, what amuses me no end is this: I sent a link to my resource page to my daughter. Just a link. Now, she's a Babbler also, and I'm about to get her a Pro membership.
You're an ambassador, Angel ;) But it is true, babble is so addicting and the community perhaps even more so. All people need is to be pointed in the right direction and they are hooked for life.
morning all
Hi sha. What a sweet icon.
hey sha
sometimes I wish I could move the letters around in the grid....
Hahahaha... a 'shuffle' button.
wow angel, impressive, you sure did your homework, thx
Yes. exactly.
I got kinda tired of chasing all over for information, so I just pulled it together!
Beneath that button the following text: "Use at your own risk. You have only 3 shuffles per day. Shuffling the grid may change the grid into a 600+ one, or a 30- one. Use with discretion."
LOL..."you have been warned..."
LOL sprite...if i did it i would get the 600+ and lose all the words i had collected
Would you like some more links to tools, Angel, or rather not?
yes, sprite...the more the better! can you e mail them to me? easier to deal with than in the chat.
angel - i have the enable dictionary in a note text if you want it.
I have the enable on an html.....
sure, Ren...
wow...I love it that people want to contribute!!! makes it even better :)
I will, Angel, just found your email in your profile.
I already have a link to enable dictionary on the page. Are there others for enable?
good nite everyone, 2:30am, gotta get some sleep, bye
good nite helen
nite helenkeller
I found an S8 I was sure wasn't even a word...:)
Maybe there could be a link for insomnia solutions.... beside babble...LOL
nite helen
angel - i just emailed it to you.
Angel, you've got mail ;)
blaze - when i tell my husband i'm going to stay up all nite - i go to sleep w/in 10 minutes....
that is one I have not heard before... I might try that one
FINISHED!! 309 words 5.06 4755
I am so busy doing other things that I am still only halfway. TIme to do some serious babbling! ;)
way to go mrp!!!!
%%%%%MRP%%%%%%
WOW mrP! Well done!
Thank you , Thank you all!
I want the G7 version of best.
sprite what does that mean ??
Only that I just tried to enter Go7, though I already knew that the word is 'best' and this will never work...
morning folks :D ...wasn't expecting another biggie today... oh well...
Hi sherb! It's a nice one, just dig in :) I love biggies on sundays.
ah ha.... I was having a very blonde moment... almost time for bed I think
that go 7/36 word is down right yummy
Blonde is: trying to enter something that for sure will not work. You seem perfectly bright to me ;)
you should speak to my word enty box... ((LOL))
morning sprite :D
Lol Blaze :D
hey sherb - you're up early again!!!
I am down to 168 to go and so shall I..... see you tomorrow
Sleep well, Blaze. Sweet dreams!
later blaze...
hey ren !! ...got 8 hours sleep last night - a rare event - and it's nearly 9am here now, so this is late for me... ...you watching a movie?
nite Blaze... see you later :D
renfield is still shaking from the last movie, lol.
wow sherb- you did get a good nite's sleep..... one day i'm going to sleep more than 4 hours....8)
LOL sprite...my feet are on the couch
I cannot believe it... more than halfway and not even one letter grayed out!
i have the z grayed out....
lol sprite... I'm eyeing that M in the middle... 57 words...
sherb - there are 66 M's....66.......
Yes, but 57 from the middle M. Terrible, isn't it? We've had grids with lesser totals!
and 30 N's... that's unusual...
Okay, Z, one T and one A grayed out... there is hope!
sprite, your links are up; I still don't have Renfield's e mail though...
Nice! Glad you could use them. :)
godh angel...i sent it some time ago - it is a rather large file.
that was gosh angel...i don;t say g-d w/out the space...
Interesting typo though, LOL Is it freudian?
It may have gotten held up on a server, Ren. I'll watch for it. I especially like the way I can edit the page to include new content from time to time. makes the page even more useful.
But Angelsong, if we have the page on our hard drive, we will miss the updates. Shouldn't we just visit your page, or would that generate too much traffic?
it must have been sprite....for religous reasons, we spell g-d...g-d...so...oops....
(((renfield))) ;)
thanks sprite....8)
Sprite, you can easily edit your page to include the updates. it's just a matter of going to the online page, viewing the source code in your browser, copy and paste the new text.
Errrrrr.... 'viewing the source page'... right. Angel, you are talking to a complete nitwit on webdesign. Where do I find the source page?
ren...got your e mail. It was in my spam folder.
*make that source CODE
sprite, which browser do you use?
spam spam spam spam....
I have both firefox (for babble) and IE6.
when I send your page, there willl be a text file included that will have full instructions, sprite.
For firefox, it's easy if you get the View Source With extension...
I LOVE full instructions. Thanks a million, Angel, with instructions I can get there, I am sure. I will enjoy your page so much!
Ah, I guess I see something in Firefox: View - Source gives a window with text indeed.
sprite, while I can't reasonably include a full tutorial on html with the page (would take forever to put together), I can and do point you in the right direction to find answers to issues like how to update.
yes. that is very handy to have, sprite.
if you click on View source for this page, you will get the source code for Babble!
ooh, there's a dinosaur in the grid...
does n e 1 have the stats for the 4 9 letter words
sha - i have the em 9/66
thanx ren
Renfield, thanks for the Enable list; I have a link already up on the page for it, so I don't think I need to make a separate page for it right now. if you click the Babble Enable list link, it takes you directly to the online list.
ok angel thanks
sha - mrp said there was an mo 9/66 but i haven't gotten there yet
theres 2 em 9s ren both very similar
want a hint for the mo9? I have one, if so.
ah ha thanks sha also a de 9/72
please...hint....
mo9 begins with the M...proceed to the O in the bottom row, then to the left, up and across. Word ends in the second row of the grid.
Directions are enough, Angel, just to learn how to update your page :D
it truly isn't difficult, sprite.
thx angel....8)
n e clues for the de 9 please?
de9 and the de8's build from the de 5/14.
sha - the de 9 build off of the de 5...a devil of a word
thanx ren
that's all i need - this old house is making really strange noises.....8}
morning ruthy : )
Poor renfield... Christoffer Lee is getting to you! ;)
time I got dressed... later all :D
bye sherb : )
yes sprite...my husband went to bed...his last words were don't forget to take the dogs out...hahahaha...no way
later sherb!!!
LOL! You rather clean up in the morning than face the dark and creepy night? You are really scared! :)
yup...i'll mop the floor...the wind is blowing...it's one of those dark stormy nights....off of a country road....
morning sha
Are the dogs trainend well? Just open the door, let them out and call them back in, lol. Leave the light in the hall on. You'll be alright, I promise. Oh, I LOVE the dinosaur!

those g 7's do help
Mo9: wetted And another H8/50: reddish-brown crystalline compound used as an indicator and a biological stain. Start out thinking blood.
But M7/36? Sounds like they might undo the work of the G7/44s ;)
M8/45: wasn't that Credence Clearwater something? "I see a bad M... R....."
we'll jsut cook those m 7's and sing along w. john fogerty
Do you have N7/40? People that persistently pester, annoy, or complain. We don't have them here. :)
yup we've got 'em...want some???
Nope, can do without them :D
Finally got all the biggies. Very nice ones today!
Okay, if anyone is still there, that's it for me today. Any clues needed before I split?
i'm still here...but i think i can make it...enjoy your day..it's almost daylight here...well in another hour
sprite can u please give me the stats for the 8 letter words please
I really must go to computer classes. Just read through the log, all this talk of resource pages, source codes etc., I've no idea what you are talking about! It's like learning a foreign language.

yup angel - i don't know why i'm here...i think my insomnia has returned
Ren, I just added a section to the resource page about how to do updates for people who have their own pages. Could you look at it and see if it makes sense?
ok - be right back
any clues for the de-8-55
got the one for beliefs in false gods
angel - i may be a little bleary...but i believe it makes sense if one has their page. of course - i can't write web pages, but i can follow instructions pretty well.
sha how about the one to really put another person down?
it will make more sense when you have your page, Ren.
angel - i'm sure it will. i clicked view in both firefox and ie.
good, and you could view the source code...
yes
still havent got the de 8-55 any more clues
sha It carries on from your 8/50 and 9/72

You are welcome, boysaway, glad I could help
hello everyone! : )
Hi temple owl
r u all working from the bottom or the top? i figure it may be best to stay with the pack this one...
I'm just typing in words I can see right now. Can't talk for anyone else though
I've edited the Babble resource page just a bit. Can someone go check it out? I need an opinion as to how it looks and if the bottom section on updates is clear. Thanks!
what's the address for the resource page, Angelsong? I'd like to take a look at it
hi angel, amanda...i'm finding the so options extremely limited...grrrrrrrr!
amanda cath: http:// www. freewebs. com/ angelsong/index.html (remove the spaces) if this link doesn't work, there is on on BA/General/Announcing a new Babble resource.
Hi Owl - haven't started on the so's yet - except for what popped out at me
Any help with the en 6/18 and en 5/12?
en: en+ consumed a meal, and plural
Thank you
fa5?
fooound the fa5 after all
Nice site, Angel! The update stuff seems clear to me, but then I know how to do it. There's an address in the Links list that looks like it doesn't belong there...?
amandacath, thanks. I removed that link.
fa 5 : The series of final passes performed by a matador preparatory to killing a bull in a bullfight. double vowel in beginning and word ends with a vowel
hey everyone :) is this a hard 309 or an ok 309?
hey atalante! well it does have s, d, and est in it : )
well thats a start, I guess! Bit concerned about these 57 Ms though LOL
i am working backwards today
Hello. Hows the puzzle today?
what i have noticed is a lot of false starts...but the letters exist in other quadrants to actually make the word or the plural...
any clues for the T in the upper right corner? I've been stuck for a while.
back again, 242 still to find...
Angel - te4, sheep
Is that what they are? te4 - rhymes with what you walk with
hi harp sherb...head down working today! anhone have te5/12 yet?
hi Temple :D te5/12 - a tithe
*thinking...*
Owl - it's a scottish tithe. Stick another letter in the word that follows it
some words just have me scratching my head to find a clue...
*face very red*
still no luck with te4 - sheep
why? Is that a word anyone should really know?
angel: rhymes with what you walk with
Angel it's a te4/6 - does that help?
no, but it comes up in Babble surprisingly often... combination of common letters, I suppose...
Ah, I see. Another one to put on my list of "improbable combinations of letters that Babble recognises as words"
finally got the silly thing!
lol... I thought Babble would teach me some new words, but actually I rarely bother to look up the meanings...
and if na5/10 is a word, why isn't there an na4/4 singular?
afternoon back again with 68 words 2 find
hi sha :D ...I've still got 226 to find... slowly meandering backwards...
could someone give a clue for ad6/21? that would rock.
Sherb - that's another one that turns up again and again. If I remember correctly it's some sort of anatomical thing that doesn't have a singular ...?
st 8/55? I have all the other st's but can't see that one.
goofball - st8 is a dinosaur... ends with a mafia chief :D
st 8 is a dinosaur
Heehee! I was right. I looked it up, and there definitely is no singular. Or can one have only one buttock?
st8 is a type of prehistoric animal...think t. rex kin
sherb: have u got to the n's yet? bad news!
I'm on the n's right now - they really aren't very nice
amandacath - having only one would be a bit unfortunate... but I can imagine a circumstance where someone might want to refer to the right na4/4, or the left na4/4... :D
think a n* and a wink...then stretch it
yup, I'm on the N's too... it's going to be a long day...
i have managed all but two and it's time to go for now - help needed, anyone?
alright, behave now...nuts in the house
*blushes* and still no tithe...figure a fresh persepctive (not to mention a shower) might help - LOL!
NUT!!!! HOW DID IT GO!!!!
hi nut !!!
i have a new sister in law to be!!!!!!!!
I've stretched the n** & wink once, then once agan, but can't get it stretched once more - or is that 6 something completely different?
good news nut... :D
no, amanda - just trying to help in general - the two below it are what i lack... congrats, nut!
tx - it was a good thing. but i guess he worried a bit when she screamed and fell on the sofa.
TempleOwl, which two are you missing? I am probably missing the same two, but you never know.
gee: the two after the 7/40
Good Morning.
hey bun bun
bunny and tequila: a nice way to start the day ;D
da da da da da da da da... da da da da da da da... TEQUILA!!! ...hi bunny :D
I've got all but the first 6/21, which I think you are missing as well. The one after that is another "improbable combination..." Dictionary says it's the plural of "negative response"
Ok, took too long typing that last entry - the log got away from me. The ones after the 7 are "hangman's accoutrement" and it's past tense
...and that gives you the last two G's as well, if you didn't have them already
*picsk up large , large fish*
no6 is no5 past tensed
*picks up sm* of misspelling, too*
thank u all i am done with no!
no6/27 is a new one on me...
Can you help me with the no7/40? Guess that was the one that I was missing in there.
the 6/27 is, if I'm not mistaken, Yiddish. The 7 is more of the same, Jee. Anybody got the first 6/21 yet?
no6 - past tense of to make a racket... ;)
Found it! Sounds sort of like the name of stuff you take to keep awake...
Thanks Sherb, had that one already. I've got all n's now, if anyone need help. On to the s's - yuck!
done the N's, on to the M's... all 66 of them...

Hey Thanks Hurshy.
that was a question, though
Sorry. The act of loving oneself.
Nope that was the one before.
Shrug - I don't know.
hematoma would fit alphabetically, if that's how you spell it (i hear it on ER a lot), but it's not in the grid and that would be 55 anyway
Doesn't that drive you crazy?
it sort of seems like it must be hema something though
aha, it is! and i have no idea how to give a good clue for it
is the T involved? I've been monkeying. I have to be getting close.
yes t is 5th
then german article
hema plus a German beer mug with the first letter knocked off...

Even her smile, and everything - I can't stop looking at it - I would swear it IS my daughter!
st8 is the ancestor of elephants mammoths etc
the st8/55 works down from the st on the top row
No she is definitely mine!

*taps Mamabear on shoulder* BOO! : D
I'm sure she is..... but the resemblance is unbelievable!
se6 take one of your se4's, take the first 2 letters and add them on the front..

And you know this how, evanout?
my cat told me
LOL!!! Good one...
4755 points total, pretty disappointing actually, I'd prefer 5 million.
oh, I'm sorry. As long as it comes from a reliable source.
right you are, he's right here on the floor if you want any clues, just don't ask me, cause i'm only at 81
hello, I'm stumped on the go 5/16 and the go 6/27, anyone got clues? please....
Chic, if go- was a term for a male deity, then go--- might be a term for a female deity. Also a bit like "Waiting for go---"
cat says the go 6/27 should be go-tuna
thanx, yoink. I would have never figured that out..
a clue for he 8/50; I have the one ending in "t"
Chic, A reddish-brown crystalline compound, used as an indicator and a biological stain.
Thanks Yoink, I was just looking for that too.
oy vey.... this was a mistake to start.....
davka! it's too late, Mama!
thanks, yoink, I googled it from your clue!
We need a "never mind" or "changed my mind" or "what WAS I thinking" option in Babble, don't you think?
Hey Mamab, points are points; go for the biggies!
I've thought that a few times as well. Entering that first word is so....indelible, undeniable, so final.
hi
yes mab........ such a life commitment!!! LOL
hi Angel.
Hi Angel....... (it's great! Thanks!)
MamaB, you really like the page?
Hi, angel:)
I LOVE it!!!! Thank you sooo much!

Hi, kristin...
Mama, I thought your page's template is really pretty.
you broke it mama!
I got back in!!!
Yes Angel, beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi everyone -- you have a webpage, mamabear?
oooh Angel...is this the babble page you were talking about last weekend? Are you being inundated w/ requests? :)
a few, Kristen...nothing to panic over :)
kristen, are you looking at the online version of the page?
anyone have clues for the am 7's?
No, I don't know where to find it. I was just hanging out when you first presented it last weekend but wasn't around this week to see it become reality for anyone else.
someone in charge of love!
help I can't for the life of me find the 2 ma6/21's any hints pls
ma6/21 two spellings of what's over your fireplace
have the regular spelling of that is there 2 more spellings of it?
kristen, there's a link to the online page in BA/General/Announcing a new Babble Resource.
nan think of love for the am 7's
Angel, okay, I'll go check it out.
ma6/21 just reverse the last 2 letters
first do5/12?
uni have those 2 is there a thrid ma 6/21?
angel works off the word above it
Clue for IN6 please?
yes there's a third ma6/21--don't have it yet
in6 opposite of "outside"
Angel, very cool! I bet that saves a ton of time.
Found the in6, sometimes you just don't see it. sorry, it means in the house.
ma6/21- fireplace ma6/21- change last consonant ma6/21- switch around last two letters on first ma6
it does, Kristen, that's why I did the page. Plus, I can add to it any time, or edit as needed.
third ma6 looks like shirts worn by a male :-)
ty smith finally got the last 6
YW
love clue didn't help :(
Angel, well if you're not being bombarded, then you might be hearing from me later...it would be my first personalized webpage! :)
*runs into chatroom & hides in the corner, rocking and muttering Eight1... Eight1... stope me before I play agian...*
latin for "love" plus what's between your hand and your arm
kristen, you will find my e mail address in my profile. send me your e mail and what color you like...
Jera, there is no escape... You can run, but you cannot hide!
Jera -- it's a good game! What's your high score?
Got it, Une, TY -- what about the other one?
Angel, will do...I don't want you to get too overwhelmed either though. Thanks for sharing your great idea and willingness to do it for others!
Nothing to brag about... I merely addicted right now, not good...
my high score's 19,694 -- what about you?
latin word for love plus animal with very large single horn minus the "h"
Thanks, Une. :)
Can't remember exactly -- just over 18,200
I'm at level 19 with a score of 4431... is that any good?
Oooh, guess not, LOL!
kristen, I'm keeping a list and doing them as I have time, as a hobby. I can add you to the list any time.
jera, have you seen what some of the true high scorers of gotten . . . jeezomeez, it's amazing!!
No I haven't checked that part out... too busy playing... I think I'm getting better... more & more often I find the 8 word!
sounds like you're doing great! it is sooooooo addictive! :-)
Did anyone notice that we have both heaven and hell in this grid --- but I think it's mostly hell!
2nd de 6/24?
I haven't found the heaven, yet
to ask strongly for is de 6
oops, sorry that is actually the third de 6
have that one pinecone, it is the second de 6/24 that I'm hunting.
Jera -- I'm working in the de's *hint, hint*
second de 6 is de + m 4 word
also looking for the devilish de 9 and 8's (have the first 8/50)
before that, pinecone --- the one following the chair of a university department.
de 6/24 add onto de4 above it
Thank you, Rosalind
Are you talking about a believer or a heavenly being?
I found the 2 believers already
your wecome
last le4/5?
Last le 4/5 what you do if you **** someome money
Jera -- the believers
de 9 and 2 following 8's?
cyber-the 9 is past tense of your first 8. I don't have the others either
change that! -- de 9 and 8/55?
kristin - last one is one who believes in the devil
cyber-sorry, not the "first" 8 but the eight right before the 9 in group of biggies
de8/55 the worship of devils
ah--ty cyber
and the de 8/55 is the noun (belief in the devil)
cyber--get the nine from my lame clue?
Thanks, Une -- you put me on the right track.
WHEW!!!! Done with those dastardly D's!!!
stuck on the EMs -can't find a beginning Hints?
me7/36?
first em: edit
me 7/36: compound word -- butcher
thanks, Angelsong, but EM8 and TWO EM9s?
em 8 & 9's: all built on the em 5/14 first suffix - add consumed second - make past tense third - another verb form for present
eo clues, please? -- don't have either.
Woot! cybernan-thank you!

mo8- more of the orb in the sky mo8- when the orb in the sky comes up

ae - long period of time
Haz - Glad it went well and very glad my cheesecake worked out for you. Plenty of pudding recipes on BabAnon but if you need any help or more ideas, just ask.
Haz, you must be a glutton for punishment. It's all I can do to cook for my family of five! Well, I'm done and I'm off to take my son to a meeting at church. Bye everybody!
'Bye Smithchick.
bye Smith, take care!

Nevermind -- just saw it.
1st am7 sounds like French love + ending or Italian baby.
is 5 ? -- hate words all alone!
just figured it out!!! ty anyway -- on to the h's -- long way to go.
*meant ending OF Italian for baby.
Both start with the Spanish for love. The first ends with the shortened version of a horned animal, the second with the last part of the bone that connects your hand with your arm
2nd am7 - 1. One dedicated to love, especially sexual love. 2. One who writes about love.
is5 - Think of a spikey Scottish emblem and knock off the first two letters.
cyber is plus allow
TY jacula -- found it yesterday -- don't know why not today!
oops cyber scramble those letters, lol
oe 6?

Thanks guys. Got one, but not sure of Haz's clue on horned animal...reptile or mammal?
oe 6/24 is swelling
no 12 loud noise + past tense
oe6 - swelling of the tissues. Same as ed5/14.
Mammal - it's African, ugly and has a large horn. It has a long name which is shortened to rh***

Ooh, this is getting exciting! LOL. I've got 4 words left to find.
Haz - Forgot to say. I love your boating icon. It looks very tranquil.
It's apparently salmon fishing somewhere in Ireland. I haven't taken time to change it recently. But I like it myself.
Thanks, misst
Can't believe I've only just spotted the st5/10 covered beer glass!
np, I'm going to hibernate now, so I don't mess it up for anyone else (lol)...still have 72 to go, so I'll be lurking for clues...

ro 6/24's?
help, please...stats panel shows I have 3 M's to find, from the middle M. I have the Mo9 and everything before it. I'm getting tangled up in the 5s and 6's between the Mo9 and a Mo6/21 that is a plural for another word for cash, if they are in the correct order...
ok, I know I'm just getting up to speed but I don't get any of the clues so far about the te4/6. I'll probably feel really stupid when I finally see it. Any other clues about it out there?
Hi Temple........just saw your greeting. :)
angel you just made me dizzy
I have to nip to another games site to pick up a link from a friend in there. She posted a world map on which we can all stick a 'pin' to show where we are. Obviously not our exact addresses! I thought it might be a nice thing to have in BabAnon and so I want to get the link off her. Any clues needed though, just ask. I assume Haz can answer you too, as I think she's finished the grid.
cool jac
ro6/24 - one could say that this male/males like to fish
te4/6 - anagram of ge4/6. Word means: Sheep in their second year or before their first shearing.
Thanks, Haz
te 4/6 - sometimes a dog b*** for food. Use the last three letters
se 6/24?
If a garment has se4/5's then it is se6/24.
Have that one, Jacula -- looking for the second 6/24
de8s, besides the devil's work?
de 8/55 - past tense of the de 6 before it.
ty jac , haz !
clue for the first MO after the MO 9?
All the other de 8's and the 9 are 'devilish' with different suffixes.
Cybernan - the se 6 - begins with the first four letters of male fluid, but add me.
DARN ! Just got going and now - family calls...... I'll be back .
I'm down to 248 woohoo
Thanks, Haz
YES! no mre M's to find!!!
Cybernan - se6/24 - What Haz said. It is the smallest unanalysable unit of linguistic meaning (eg a word or affix).
You're welcome - are you nearly done? I still have loads more words to find but I know I won't finish.
Oh, Jacula, you're bringing back horrible memories of linguistics lectures all about phonemes and things.
I'm going to abandon this game.
Good evening. I got a really late start again today. But, the kids are in bed, Greg's at rehearsal for another hour and I'm going to be babbling in peace.
Ex-wren - have you run out of time or motivation?
I'm only at 140, and I just can't be bothered with it today, it's far too large. I had other things to do with my Sunday.
Lucky you musicmom
I know the feeling! As long as you enjoyed finding your 140, that's the main thing.
Okay - I'm not babbling yet. Because the daughter I thought was going to bed just remembered she has a paper to type. Be back later - I hope.
my selfish pleasure in he8 but what are the other two he8s?
ExWren - Only do as much of the grid as it brings you pleasure to do. I (or rather my other half, mostly) tend to copy out (or print out) the grid first thing, after I've checked my e-mails. I then do it on paper as and when time permits throughout the day.
he 8/50 is the person who takes selfish pleasure he8/55 is the act of taking selfish pleasure he8/50 has nothing to do with the above! he plus ma4/5 plus preposition
just starting on the mo's -- let's see 124 more to go..I am tired of the m's!!
mo5/12 - 9/66 all have to do with wetting things.
Don't get in a mo4/6 with the mo's.
LOL, Haz.
I looked at the cow and the cow mo5/14'd.
ne 4/5 immediately after ne 5/10?
ne4/5 - anagram of horse's ma4/5.
...Anyway, night fell and the mo4/5 came up. It was a beautiful mo8/45; so big and round, it was the mo8/45 mo4/5 I'd ever seen!
...After that, it was mo4/5 and the sun came up.
PBR - Is this helping?
jacula - may i please have a clue for the word after the te sheep? te5/12? earlier i was told it's a scottish tite - but i could not get it
I am working on it--- Let's see so far 12 of them. .. 4/6, 5/14,5/14, 6/24,4/5,4/64/5,8/45,8/45,4/5, 4/5,5/12..getting tired thinking!!
Temple - it's a te + an anagram of a short word for 'noise'. Failing that, try t + anagram of 'to eat'.
Temple - it's the Scottish word for 'tithe' - A tenth part of one's annual income contributed voluntarily or due as a tax, especially for the support of the clergy or church.
Haz - Have you gone? I do hope you didn't think the 'cow' clue was referring to you!:-(
Oh, I'm mortally offended here!
Haz - Oh dear! I'd better whip up some Bailey's mix and spoonfeed it to you then, I guess?
I still have some Bailey's minis left in the fridge. They may just help...... Well, it's time I headed off to bed. I enjoyed the chance to relax and find some words. See you tomorrow at some stage.
(I wonder if that would also work on the cats? I need to give them worming tablets tomorrow and I don't want my hand bitten/slashed off.)
Don't waste Bailey's on cats!
'Bye Haz. You need your rest if you're feeding 8 later! If you want any help just mail me direct through the BabAnon ez messages.
Goodnight all. ZZZZZZZZZZZ
Haz - Shalll I give 'em Southern Comfort (the so-called 'velvet hammer' ) then?
phew -- done with the m's -- on to the rest! ty jacula for your clues.
Okay now I'm back. Hopefully I can stay for a bit.
wait a minute - are you getting your kitties drunk?
I assure everyone here that there is nothing 'velvet' about the Southern Comfort hammer, as I found out to my cost about 30 years ago (when I was 18) when I 'won' a Southern Comfort drinking competition against my then fiance.
Temple - No. Was just contemplating doing so to stupefy them enough to give them worming tablets later. LOL.
Hi again, MM. That 'can I use your computer' thing keeps happening to me,too, with my daughter and her course work. I mean, you can't really say, 'No! I'm Babbling!' can you?? She has a new laptop almost primed up now so, hopefully, it's only my printer she's going to want to hog for a while. (She's an art student.)
no7/40 anyone?
plural of no6
Don't have any of the no6 /21 words, help please
Hi Peri - no7 is plural of no6/27 - Scottish word for 'nudge' and 'nudges'.
no + where hunters might stay, in a hunting L**** minus the "L"
thanks jacula, found them both (sing and pl)
Yes Jac. In this case, Sarah is only 11 and I don't want her to have a computer in her room. So, it means sharing. It just drives me nuts when it is "remembered" homework after she has been supposed to go to bed.
thanks, une, too
thanks jacula - that is a forgotten vowel - you'll never guess how i found it!
MM - I can understand you not wanting an 11-year-old to have a net-enabled computer in her room, though you can set up parental blocks. I don't like computers in bedrooms because of the electronic fields created by them (and by other electrial equipment). However, since both my kids are adults now, I can't really stop them.
Do tell, Temple...
Nope I'm a super mean mom - no t.v.s and no computers in the bedrooms. They both have small cd players. we are a one television family. When we moved in the satellite dish people kept asking where the other t.v.s were. hehehee
i googled the first par of your definition - up to 'tithe' and came up with the log for the puzzle of august 18 - whre someone asked mama..them looked at the word list *not sure whether to beam proudly at cleverness or hang head in shame*
st 8?
Temple - I think you should hold your head proudly for sheer doggedness.
: D
st8 is a prehistoric animal
Digging into the grid for while.
st8 - extinct elephantlike mammals of the Pliocene to the Pleistocene epochs. Think a mixture of 'stegosaurus' and 'mastadon'.
Or try st + 2nd vowel + deity + opposite of 'off'.
Thank you Jacula
Une- Sorry, forgot to say 'Hello'. Meant to do so when I spotted you earlier. 'Hello!'
hey!!
two left: ta 6/21 (first one -- between the training of wild things) te 5/12
Une - Strictly speaking, I suppose I should call you 'Aixoise'. But you're 'Une' to me now. Sorry!:-)
LOL! No prob!
ta6/21 - domestic wild thing + opposite of 'out'.
need a little help on the n's -- the last 4/4,5/10 set -- at the bottom of the list.
te5/12 - I clued that not so long back. Temple will help you!
no4,5 - the thing in the middle of your face. adn past tense
PBR - na,ne or no's?
doxy1lover -- the set above that!! pls
think neither/no* + third vowel, plural
thx doxy1lover -- 67 more to go, the end is in sight!---hopefully
I need the de 6/24 between the head of a college and the practice of believing in God.
your welcome. I still have 137 to go.
sorry, Jacula, but your clue way back for the te 5/12 doesn't help and Temple's chat about going to a previous puzzle is very vague!
te5 - te + opposite of out + 4th letter
hooray Doxy! I thought I was the only one who still wasn't understanding the te5 clues. ty, ty!
te5/12 - te + opposite of 'out' + 5th letter of the alphabet.
Sorry, meant 4th. Slip of the finger.
Jacula-I have to pill my cat twice a day, every day, and a couple of years ago found that the vets use a pill "gun" (they never tell you about it) and got one for myself and life has become much easier-and my fingers fars less scarred. It is like a long plastic straw with a rubber tip which holds the pill, and a plunger which pushes a puff of air which pops the pill into the cat's throat. Not that they can't gag, tongue their meds or otherwise escape, but it helps.
Eva - Thank you so much for that information. I will ask my vet about it.
may i have a clue for ta6/24 please?
There are 2 sizes-one is long and narrow and the other is fatter-the fatter one, from my experience, doesn't work well-doesn't really fit through their little jaws.
another word for a bicycle built for two - ta****
Thank you, jacula, haz and everyone else who helped me to finish. Two monsters in tree days is just too much!!
Congrats Cybernan.
yipee Nan!
Eva - Years ago, I had to give my dog (a Jack Russell x Sheltie) 2 tablets a day. But he was soft as a brush and I could flip him over on his bag between my legs (NO RUDE COMMENTS, PLEASE, ANYONE!) and shove the tablet in the gap at the back of his jaw and then stroke his Adam's apple until he had to swallow. I did try the 'just hide it in a bit of his meat' thing first. That never worked. The bowl would be shiny clean with the tablet sitting there in the middle of it, winking at me like the 'zing star' in that old MacClean's toothpaste advert.
congrats cybernan!!!
thanks doxy...damn i gotta go pro! i have every word filled in in my spreadsheet but am missing two unknown words...
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR CYBERNAN*~*~*~*~
yay cybernan!
I have had a problem all day going back and forth between the stats and the word list -- on my return, I have to refresh before I'm able to enter anything. Has anyone else had this problem?
on occasion I do.
Does anyone need any clues before I head over to Eight1?
de6/27 after one who believes in god?
de 6: ask for something forcefully
Are you off 'East of the Web', Cybernan?
Yes
jacula, i've had success with the holding the mouth closed while stroking throat method but also by putting the pill in a bit of ice cream--slides down before Fido has time to spit it out :-)
Temple, I de**** that you listen to me!
thank you nan! : ) one more to track down
have fun, cybernan!
Has Sprite been around lately? -- haven't 'seen' her for a while.
Une - Dogs are easy-peasy to give pills to. Cats, unfortunately have lots of sharp nails and very flexible spines.:-(
Cybernan - Sprite's been around more than usual lately. I guess you must have just missed being here when she was.
last en5/12? it's my last word... - i hope!
See you all later :)
bye!
Rabbits can be difficult to give pills to. Injecting them is far easier. Just try not to do what my daughter once did - go straight through the rabbit's 'scruff' and into your own finger with the needle!
aaahhh, true . . . have been around cats with dog personalities lately and tend to forget! :-)
en5/12 - an injection of a soapy fluid up your bottom to make you excrete quickly.
i was trying to think of a tactful definition--kudos, jacula!!
Need clues for the go5/16 and go6/27 please?
Une - the definition may not have been tactful, but I bet she got the answer! LOL.
jacula- How To Give Your Cat A Pill 1. Grasp cat firmly in your arms. Cradle its head on your elbow, and pop the pill in its mouth. 2. Retrieve cat from top of lamp & pill from under sofa. 3. Follow the same procedure as in 1, but hold cat's front paws down with left hand & back paws down with elbow of right arm. Poke pill into its mouth with right forefinger. 4. Retrieve cat from under bed. Get new pill from bottle (resist impulse to get new cat).
heck - i typed that no less than three times this afternoon...but then again, at one point my page said there was one minute left... Thanks JACS! DONE!
5. Again proceed as in 1 except when you have cat firmly cradled, sit on edge of chair, fold your torso over cat, bring your right hand over your left elbow, open cats mouth by lifting the upper jaw & pop pill in quickly! Since your head is down by your knees, you won't be able to see what you are doing. That's just as well. 6. Leave cat hanging on drapes. Leave pill in your hair. 7. If you're a woman, have a good cry. If you're a man, have a good cry. 8. Now pull yourself together. Retrieve cat & pill. Assuming position 1, say sternly, "Who's the boss here anyway?" Open cats mouth, take pill & ..... oops! 9. Crawl to the linen. Drag back a large beach towel. Spread the towel on the floor. 10. Retrieve cat from kitchen counter & pill from potted plant. 11. Spread cat on towel near one end with its head over long edge.
Eva - LOL. I'm sure I've seen a 21-point 'How To' bulletin for that before now.:-)
12. Flatten cats front & back legs over its stomach (resist impluse to flatten cat). 13. Roll cat in towel. Work fast; time and tabbies wait for no man - or woman! 14. Resume position 1. Rotate left hand to cat's head. Press its mouth at the jaw hinges like opening the petals of a snapdragon. 15. Drop it into cats mouth & poke gently. Voila! its done. 16. Vacuum up loose fur (the cat's). Apply bandages to wounds (yours). 17. Take two aspirins & lie down.
mary, go5 and 6--french sewing term--triangular piece of fabric sewn into a skirt to add fullness
Oops! Eva's going for it! And every word is TRUE!
Une - TOLD YOU Temple would get my clue! ROFLOL.
eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww
What in the world is the AD word?
good question music mom!
I thought so.....
ad: google: United to a part or organ of a different kind, as stamens attached to petals.
ad 6 - ad + consonant + past tense of eat
well - time to go - see you all tomorrow! thanks for the help!
THANK YOU LESLIEANN!!!! I have been monkeying with that off and on since this morning.
Thanks leslie!
Good night TO
night, mom!
Une, thanx, it took me some time but I finally got the go's. This is some puzzle today.
yw!
only 23 more to go -- so's, st's and some of the t's !!!!
Eva - I've just thought of a quicker way to give a cat a pill: 1. Hire industrial vacuum cleaner. 2. Buy some big plastic drinking straws. 3. Take purchases home. 4. Plug in machine. 5. Make sure cat (or cats) are in house. 6. Close all points of egress. 7. Creep into room where cat is sleeping and close door behind you. 8. Place upholstery nozzle on end of hose and position it over sleeping cat's neck. 9. Place pill on one end of a wide straw and inhale. 10. Hold breath (unless you have overestimated straw to pill size are are now choking on pill). 11. Switch machine on. 12. As cat awakes, opens mouth wide to yowl, blow pill from straw down cat's throat. 13. Switch off machine. 14. Leave room rapidly as very pissed off cat falls to floor. 15. Clean up cat sick from carpet or sofa. 16. Go back to whichever number in this list you now need to. 17. Start again.
LOL!!! Not sure I understand, not having eer used on, the role of the upholstery nozzle. Does it hold the cat in place? And the first step for any procedure involving making a cat do something it doesn't want to do (take pills, go to vet, etc) is to meditate, or take a tranq, so as not to betray any unsual anxiety because if you do the cats will dematerialize until it is too late.
Eva - The upholstery nozzle is the smaller version of the carpet nozzle. (Fits the back of a cat's nect quite nicely, I would imagine.) It's for vacuuming your sofas and armchairs, bedding etc.
Eva - if I must meditate, get drugged up or drunk before I give my cats a pill, how will I see to aim? I think I'd rather get the cats spaced out, drugged or drunk! LOL. That way, they get the pills and I don't get injured.
My eyes keep closing so I guess I'll hang this one up. Good luck tomorrow Jac!
But then you have to pill them in order to pill them? The other thing is that it's hard to aim while laughing hard.
Good night eva
'Night, Eva. Sleep well, and don't dream of felines.x
hmmm, apparently, I have entered at a moment when everyone is finished and enjoying what's left of the evening. Dogs are SO much easier....
Nope I'm not done. Too busy raking the grid for words to chat.
need help with me4/5, 6/24, 5/12 after the word for roasts (me***). can't find them anywhere.
doxy, do you have the words for what happens to the wicked witch after you throw water on her?
me4, 6, 5 after roasts = you leave ice in the sun, to me** (3 tenses).
Charm - I so agree with you about dogs! Charm and MM - I'm still here to give clues, should you need any. Just let me know what clueing mode I should adopt: 1. Cryptic clues for crossword lovers. 2. Simpler clues for those just wanting words. 3. JUST GIVE ME THE GODAMNED WORD! No.3 will NOT be available, but I'll do my best to help.:-)
thanks leslie
and ty charm
yw, doxy. jacula - our dog is pretty funny. I wrap a pill in peanut butter and give him. He'll sit in a corner for several minutes working at the peanut butter and then finally (very indignantly) spit out the pill, only just slightly sticky. And we start again.
I just finished!!!!! Glad that is over!! Now to relax a bit.
hheeeheee jac. I'm not to #3 yet. Definitions are good. clever is good. Whatever you feel like. YEY PBR
what on earth is the st 8?
st8 - think dinosaur (though not the -saurus ending).
st8 - extinct elephantlike mammals of the Pliocene to the Pleistocene epochs. Think a mixture of 'stegosaurus' and 'mastadon'.
Why isn't tada a word. In the performance arena we use it all the time.
Or try st + 2nd vowel + deity + opposite of 'off'.
thanks folks!
LeslieAnn - like your tranquil icon and also like Lions in Kenya! I still think Badger, Badger is the best though!
but they both get stuck in your head equally! :)
Yup!:-)

Bager, badger, badger, badger, mushroom, mushroom, SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!

Badger, Badger is probably the best accompaniment to your last few words to find on Babble to hear in your headphones than anything! LOL.
Wolfie - love the lions, but not as much as the badgers.
Unfortunately I have more than a few left tonight. Still have over 80 to find. UGH!
JoJo -- I requested a Badger theme day for Kristianna back in December -- it was the only non holiday theme day during Babblers holidays :)
BTW I'm too stinking stubborn for my own good. Won't ask for help until I've practically exhausted mself. It's part of the fun. hehe
Jac -- the albino black sheep combines both into one vid :)
Woulfie: Guess I haven't heard about the Babbler's holiday. Enlighten me.
MM - same here in life and in Babble.
GW - I know. Albino B is one of my fave sites. It's not virus-free yet though!
MM --- I didn't even bother today -- I knew I wouldn't finish and decided that I have fallen asleep on enough grids to even consider it ;D
Done. There is still life after 308 words!
GW: did you get the e mail I sent youa?
Yeah I just told Greg I won't finish this one but I'm not putting it down until we go to bed<g>
why am i having trouble with pop ups on the babble site?, never been that way before
JoJo -- Babbler is the Coordinator of the Themes --- back in Dec she went on holiday for a couple of weeks and during that time we were left to our own devices
Hi guys, I'm back. I still need all of the 9 letter words. Got any help?
Yes I did Angel -- I just haven't had a chance to play with it yet
Jac now has vision of GW (with Seb in his arms) zzzing with his head on the keyboard. Seb., after a couple of weeks of this scenario, gets used to it and starts prodding his Dad, 'OY! WAKE UP! You might drop me! And, anyway, re6/132 is....' LOL.
Well, enjoying all the chat, but not really into the theme tonight. But sounds like everyone is enjoying.
let me know how you like it, GW, please?
heheeee Jac. That would be funny.
Rest assured that I will, Angel :)
Jojo - Sorry you can't get into the badger thing, but no need to go...
