Just arrived for the flip! Yahoo!
I jumped the flip!
hello again
flip
I will start over! I think I am about 20 min from zoo. Haven't been there yet and still finding my way around.
howz everyone doing? I can't tell what this grid will hold :)
small grid today 72 words
72 words!
Thank goodness, a small one under 100 words today!
h6/24
I'd rather have the small ones during the weekend.
so would I
I agree, most of the time the weekends are busy for me too but every once in the while when the weather is bad, I love to settle down for a Sunday afternoon Babblefest.
Good evening, everyone -- this is certainly the smallest grid I've seen.
hi nan
ooh smallest for me too but hey...I'm halfway there.
fe 6/30
u 6/27
ra 6/24
ra-small red/white vegatble
is that a un, CJ?
yes un
h 6/24
ho6/24 x 2
Oh good, an easy one. (or........................... .............................. .IS it?)
packing it in for the nite at 50 words
ok . . . 52 . . . nite, all
nite, une!
Good night, Une
nite une
Stats are up
I've also hit the wall at 52 and will toddle off as well. Good night :)
night nan
Done! 51 minutes. Woo hoo!
Nice, rich!
Great job - Rich
Hellooo! I didn't make it onto completed list for last puzzle.... mmmm very puzzling
18 to go and housework calls
clue for su ' s?
rotten egg smell - second add sometime vowel
May I have a clue for the last ho 6/24?
great hoot! thanks
any clues for the ha6/27 7/40 please these are my last two
plural of previous 5/14 Anyone have the ha 6 & 7?
Rosalind it looks like you and I are in the same boat!
Ha 6/27 - a report of the saying or actions of Muhammad (and the plural)
me too ...
are they your last two as well?
O.K. - then how about a clue for the Ho 5/14.
which ho 5/14
The last one, please!
Hootowl did you get them? I havn't any idea
Sorry - I was googling that definition. Cannot think of a better way to do it! The ho5/15 is the 4/5 with first letter repeated as last
pluralise it
Thank you so very much!
Rosalind - think of first part of word that means flustered - in a ****er Add to ha then plural
Glad to help. Need practice on cluing!
Thanks hootowl I have found them now. i have finished
a-ha! That clue did it for me - I was guessing but misremembered one letter wrong. All done - nice and short - thanks for that last clue, hootowl! G'night, all.
Well I'm done too but I'll stick around a while.
hootowl, would you like to practice on me? ha' s please
So do I. I am always on babble but ask for clues rather than give them some babblers are exelent at giving them I must practice.
ALL of them? The biggies are what I posted at 1:32
no the last two "biggies" - didn't get the clue
Yes and some totally confuse me! I have gone on and they were soooo off the wall I thought they were working on a different puzzle!
oops just re-read the 1:32 and got it, ty
google the actions and saying of muhammed that where I got them from
ok!
It seems like lately (last few months) people have been giving clues that are sort of rebus-style... I like it when people give clues based on definitions because I learn a lot more!
actually a great clue, hoot - i'm done third day in a row
I would like to know which word was the elephant trap yesterday?
Krys I haven't the time usually to be searching all over. I do look up definitions later. Amazing how many can't be found.
if memory serves ... keddah
Oh thank you! Thought it might be but was too busy doing this one to look it up!
hootowl- you know that the questions marks next to the words in your list are links to dictionary.com, right? http://phrontistery.in fo/ is a favorite reference for obscure words!
Yep I do. Like I said - amazing what you can't find.
did i mention THIRD day?
And I will hold on to that link. Thank you
It was keddah
Sorry Jeff. ********FIREWORKS****** ***
missing 1 u, got not injured & not given food, what's the missing one?

Hi tbear! *hug* How are you doing?

That's another nice icon you have there!
sprite...ready this morning..have made french toast and fresh strawberry dip and girls about to leave for school.....there's some snow on the ground!!
It's called Ash Wednesday by a female artist and guiltily I've forgotten who...
Sounds great :) There is snow here too and more to come in the next 4 days, says the broadcast. We will have winter yet, lol. How is the grid coming along? I have really no idea where those 7s can be hiding. A bit tight, this grid.
I never remember artist's names, so np ;) Will remember the picture, though. Very lovely and lively!
morning all can anyone please give me a clue for the ha 6/27
Well there's a pretty start as we say here if we have to sh (one tea)!!!
Sorry ruthy, don't have it yet.
ruthy i have an ho6/24 but so far no ha
I have U6/27. My first 6. My only 6. And no 7s yet.
Why isn't fels a word...that's annoying
Ha6 has to do with Islamic sayings.
Btw, you're almost in the grid, ruthy!
Morning all.Happy St Davids day Ruthy and Sha.
you are minus yr question!!!!
Thx Dianne....just gotta work it out then :)
macadam... :)
ty macadam
thanx macadam and to u
sorry sprite i dont understand
ruthy take the question off yr name and you're there
Your name is in here, except for the last letter, that's all.
Dianne, thanks! Found it.
there's a sl4 that we might need if the snow continues
share nicely sprity... :)
Could be used here already!
have 2 words left 2 find a ha 6 and a ha 7
tbear - think of the woman who makes those rhinestone evening bags - J. Leiber. Well just replace the 1st 2 letters of her name with the Ha for the 6.
Okay, those are the Islamic sayings, singular and plural. First part: past tense of to possess. Second part: scary 2-letter movie of Stephen King. Last letter = first letter. For the 7 make plural.
Dianne....that's probably a gr8 clue...but if you knew me you'd know that me and evening bags go together like mashed potato and caviar....but thankyou.. :)
tbear - o.k. think real name for Judy.
Sprite.... xx
LOL me too tbear!!! Morning all.
And what, I wonder, is wrong with mashed potatoes with caviar???
Dianne....big tbear hug for you there in Kowloon
Hi FMitch!
Just add a little sour cream and I think we have a great dish!
nothing as long as you've got Daddies or HP sauce to go with it......
Morning, Sprite, tbear, macadam, Dianne and all ... and Happy St David's Day
Shall we start a Babbleatery....with all our own concoctions....that's my speciality then....
So... one more 7 and 5 more 6s, LOL! Where can they be hiding in THIS grid?
Morning FM .Nice to see you.
Great idea, tbear!
st davids day eh ..i got married in st david's church
I have an O4 that means towards the mouth but can't find the 2nd O word. Any clues, please.

Fmitch.....caviar and mashed potatoes for you...Daddies or HP honey??
Then you may celebrate too, sandyloo :) We will do the babbleatery and go together on the deaded shopping, okay? ;)

Sandyloo sprite and i are just going a little senile.....hey that soup sounds gorgeous...normally do mine with broccoli...any other special ingredient??
You are really great at playing innocent! :D
phone call from my sister
Deaded shopping is a gr8 word and the onlytime itisn't true is when i'm in the supermarket and a cute single wanders up with his little basket as opposed to my huge trolley and I mutter something about shopping for the community...nice person that I am (NOT)
LOL!
Time for more tea and a break, 26 left to find. Back soon.
Later, FMitch :)
Love yr St.David daff FMitch
Morning all Happy St Davids day........Just reading the log and can see deaded shopping mentioned!!!LOL
CAITLYN....it was you!!!!!!
Was it you, caitlyn? LOL! Guess tbear is right about my being senile! Yes, great word, added to the babble lingo forever :D
Sandyloo, I am SOOOOOO sorry! ;)

Ooooppps showing my age again
I am right with you, tbear. No need to hide our age, we carry our years with honor!
Hey if you cut my picture in half horizontally it looks like Donald Duck
Honour and crinkly bits Lol
tbear... no matter which way you look at it, my brother is getting that up the side of the head when I catch up with him!!
If you cut me in half horizontally, I would look like Donald Duck too.
Why pressie....what's he done...apart from being a brother....I mean
just off the phone and read the log lmao!! what the hell is deaded shopping??? planning the weekend-we are sailing to a near by island for the weekend with my sister on their new catamaran
Sandyloo, caitlyn made this brilliant typo yesterday, turned dreaded shopping into deaded shopping. We all agreed that was a great way of putting it. And blamed you, LOL. Sorry for the confusion.
sandyloo take mrpresident with you,she only lives down the road (?) and it might stop a murder in the Antipodes
sandyloo they are teasing me !!! I made an error yesterday LOL
the right little bast*** 'forgot' to tell me that him and his wife are expecting a baby - their first!! Everyone else in the family was told 3 weeks ago! I found out via the neighbour who lives next to her sister-in-law! So, so, so, so cross!! Third hand information from a stranger!!?? Uh-no Sad thing is, we are generally close, but he is a loser when it comes to 'sharing information' that is important to others
sprity if we cut you in half you'd look like a Cadburys Creme Egg with some of the wrapper still on
Good Lord... that's close to unforgivable, lol. What an incredibly stupid thing to 'forget to share'. Men... really!
Lol tbear!
mr president dont forget he is a mere male;; i cant take mr pres sailing cos she's in sydney and im on the other side of australia in the west
Awwww pressie I'd feel the same...my bro and sis phoned us with their baby news on Xmas day.......and now they won't let me name 'it' or be a godmother.....family whadda they like. Seriously....that's harsh...big hug pommie cuddle
sprite i forgive you - nothing worries me anyway its all good
It's snowing again, gotta go in the garden for a bit...love it love it love it.....2 mins

Leave out the R and change the S. You are very close.
And then put that S on the end, of course.
Judith but ha in front

Atalante! :)
Ishult can you give me a clue for the u from the bottom row?
I like this puzzle! I've never nearly finished in 10 minutes before! Saying that ... I've got the long ones to find which will probably take two hours
I'm not seeing the Ha 6 or 7.
Yes, I agree, it is a nice grid! Chris: not in pain.
Chris p - u from the bottom row - to be uninjured
Thanks sprite & haz. Just one r to go!
i dont know about that im in a lot of pain with only 10 words to go
I am down to 12, not really seeing new ones. But I trust I will... in time ;)
14 ...
9 now, and stuck on that last D. I still need one 6 too. I like these grids, that go very fast in the beginning and then leave you with a nice puzzle at the end.
Ah, found it, almost a dutch city, famour for its ceramics, lol.
*nods* I agree :)
*famour = famous
9 ... woot!
hmm. 8 including a 7 and 2 6s. Just great *sigh*
anyone have a clue for or 4/5. 'orfe'-a small yellow fish is not acceptable for some reason?
I need 1x6 and 6x4. *sighs too*
Or4 = towards the mouth
ty sprite
Don't know about the fish. Usually babble is into fish, but the enable dictionary is totally unpredictable.
defur should be allowed! Its what we do to Hobbit every year when we send her off to grooming parlour!
ok its wine oclock for me before i go completely mad!!
oh - and happy St David's day everyone! Go look at some daffodils!
Bye sandyloo! Have one on me :) 5 to go... still that 6!
5 too - a 6, a 5 and 3 4s!
Well, stupid me. That Su6 was part of the 7. Duh.
I need 3x L4, 1x R4 now.
think of the moon, Sprite :)
3! woot! still including that 6 LOL
Yeah, got them, still one more L. And that R.
the l you are probably missing is a weirdo one. Did you like the Mummy films? Surname of the actor who played Ardeth Bay, change the first letter
I keep seeing lush.
Hi Im back, 1 word left to find a th4/5... can you help?
and none of the rs are weird, so you get no clue there :P
That was the L I was missing indeed! Thanks Atalante :) Only that R now, I will find it.
th 4/5 to hurl a base ball
Found it - I'm finished woohoo!
WTG FMitch!
1 d, 2 hs. I'm presuming (probably wrongly) that the 6 is a h
There is no D6, so you are right :)
Do you have the round dance H-couple?
*blinks* I don't think so!
Round dance(s) from Romania and Israel.
only need ha 4/6
ha4/6 one of then ends in a vowel the other ends in a pl
oh yes! I had the other spelling, but not that one
ha 4/6 - could be the laughable small fence or the singular hell
Done! Was blind to the Rh4. Duh again.
Morning Haz, how's htings, any snow?
There are 4x Ha4/6
done too
Singular hell (nice one!), fence or laugh, soundword plural and tough.
Hooray for Atalante :)
Morning all - yes we have snow - just about 2 inches but enough to be a nuisance. The dog loves it!
congrats sprite and atalante
their r 4 ha 4/6's i need the one after the laugh, b4 the '@*rd'
Anyone needs a clue? If not, I am off... had a great time with you, as usual :D
hooray for everyone done that I've missed saying hooray to!! *throws confetti and chocolate buttons*
That Ha4 is a sound, made plural.
start with the 1s h and go right
sometimes i'm as stupid as i look..thnx for hlp..finally done. haha..pun intended
Bye all, have a great day/night/whatever and happy hunting :)
Bye Sprite have a good day.
Earliest I've ever finished. What shall I do now?!
LOL spellit, perhaps we can ask Dr_G for another one!
I'm having the same problem, spellit
Why not log in under another name and see how fast you can type the words in? We could have time trials and everything.
LOL Haz, love your thinking!
Or you could go at it from a different direction - log in, pretend to be someone who is incredibly slow and keep asking stupid questions. Then we'll see how patient the clue-givers can be.
....er, I don't think so!
I remember the time when the log was invaded by people directed to it by MSN or something. Babblers nearly had to be admitted to the funny farm, it was so stressful!
I remember that too it was dire, some time last October ish.
Oh well, I must get on as have work to do but will be lurking on and off if clues needed.
Have a good day - maybe see you later.
morning all -- could someone give me a clue for the su6 (I know the 7 will be the plural). Please and thank you!
Hi all - back to get those last few :)
su6 - think rotten egg smell.
The su word has smelly chemical connotations
And the su 7 is not a plural but the adjective from it.
Thanks Haz and Dianne -- I thought about the word but my brain kept insisting it had to be spelled with a 'ph' ... :)
I know - it normally is. Glad you got it.
Done, and it's only 3:48 a.m. where I am... I'm off to bed all -- will check in later to help with clues if needed. Goodnight!
Goodnight - sleep well!
Haz - I'm done. What about you?
finished!! quick one tonight!!
Sorry, Dianne - didn't mean to ignore you there! Yes, I'm done.
morning all
Good morning.
Hi all, how many words today
Only 72 today Adsman

oh4/5 anyone?
i have it but a clue.....hmmm its what you say if you catch someone doing something unexpected (sort of)
and its plural
bye the way im not going into writing crosswords for obvious reasons
damm work.. you should have seen it F mitch came down to the last person to win the game who pulled it out the bag. a fellow babbler i may add
ad is this a sport that u r talking about
feeling very think sandy. The only thing which comes close doesn't work. And there aren't any 05's that I know of so how could there be a plural? Help?
yeah sandy skittles
WTG Adsman - who's the fellow babbler?
YES! Got it!
he doesnt post very often I think he posts as jonboy
Eva, the 1st 2 letters sound like an exclamation - make them past tense.
BTW-wasn't feeling very "think" but very "thick"...very think would be fine
was it my fabulous clue eva?
Yes it was Sandy-the clue was fine - my brain was not
11 words to find. whoo!
any help with the su 6 and 7 tho cause i'm totally stumped
lmao it was the past tense not plural as mitch said its too hot here to think straight
those have a spelling you wouldnt expect relates to the smell of being in hell
su6 and 7 if this mineral is in your water then it tastes terrible
Any kind soul have a clue for the ha6 - ha7
i have 10 but im not holding out a lot of hope everything looks completely confusing
stuck on the u's as well
TADA!! Done. Anyone need any clues?
not that i have ever been to hell but sometimes i think im in hell
su 6 and 7?
read those clues mi
Ha 6 and ha 7. I can't get it nohow.
fit-there were clues a while ago re the saying of Mohammed. Here's another try. If you are fed up you might say "I've h__ i_! Ad an "h" to the end of that. Then the plural
those are unusual words but one is singular and one is plural and they sound middle eastern
wow Eva. Awesome. Thank you so much. I got them
glad to be able to help fit!
Good morning everyone. It's a weenie one today :{ Gramma is NOT happy....not happy at all.
hi gramma. But the sky is blue, so how bad can it be?
You'r right, Eva. I'll get over it. And maybe even get out of doors today.
ive just been looking around the site - i am so happy i found this site it is really very good even tho im addicted to tangleword somehow this is just so nice ( of course im not getting addicted to this)
of course not sandy. I'm sure you can walk away any time you want(-: Aside from the fun of the grid, I find it so unusual that this site has developed in the cooperative way it has. Haven't come across anything else like it. A wonderufl model for how we could treat each other.
gramma-the getting out of doors thing is a bit dicey-awfully cold, although it looks like maybe the wind has died down today. Have to go out and fill the bird feeders- no sign of bears here yet. Have you had any more close encounters of an ursine nature?
mornin babblers!
*flattens EvaN with Wednesday Whallop* : ) Morning ; )
*stands up and brushes self off* man, a girl cant even get her morning coffee before being trounced by a madman! hehe...mornin anj. :)
I know, there's nothing worse than an exuberant morning greeting before the first caffeine shot of the day : /
mornin all
heh, i dont normally even drink coffee... but its all i had until lunch yesterday. *ugh*
..! You gotta eat : / Morning Shorty : )
yeah, i know it! unfortunately, i had a heinous 8:15 am meeting, then my boss was like stalking me for the rest of the afternoon, getting my into another meeting with our higher-up boss...and work kept spilling in throughout the day (end of the month is always busiest). every time i sat down, he was up my butt with something ELSE! luckily, he had errands to run, so he left at 1:00 and my coworker and i took a nice long lunch out. :)
...evidently exercising the base art of delegation : / Or is he one of these guys who can't let go of anything which might have his name on??
hes an obsessive-compulsive micromanager, who doesnt seem to trust that his staff (who have almost all been here years longer than he has -- hes only been here just over a year) are actually competent and know how to do their jobs.
Eva, didn't mean to ignore you....I went out to test the elements. Beautiful! No wind. I don't mind the temp if the wind isn't whipping. I would think you could keep your feeders full for a while yet. One bear with a bad sense of timing shouldn't ruin it for our feathered friends.
Doesn't sound like much of a manager to me : / You don't notice the best managers. The ALWAYS notice the worst lol. My old boss had that down pat...he always said "I'm a people person. If it's a technical query ask Anj" Had him well trained : D
ive had 3 managers since i worked here...all had their pros and cons, but the cons always outweighed the pros
That's a downer as it makes your job harder to do. Problem is that some managers see it as their duty to play the staff like puppets : /
eh, our main problem is that our contract is up for rebid within the next year, and our boss is a yes-man. so our team is at risk of all kinds of cuts and alterations because he wont stand up for us.
oh great. What channel do you work in?
that was easy...anyone need a clue before I go??
what channel? huh? guessing youre asking what i do? sort of a combination of editing + a very loose interpretation of database maintenance
ha6?
ha6...ha + last 4 letters of Mrs. Bunker
never watched that show... i know the guy is archie...
ok then, last 4 letters of Ms. Piaf
su6?
ok, so i should have said, thanks o'chita! :) sorry - i'm a bit sleepy.
su6 is an element but spelled different
that's not spelled different - that's the ordinary way. thanks, though!! i'm done!
the ordinary way is with a ph in the middle...at least that is the way I was taught in high school, but then I live in Pennsylvania
Eva, editing & database maintenance was part of my old remit, lol. Amazing how many people rely on applications like Lotus Notes without really knowing how to use it : /
heh, count me in the group that knows nothing about Lotus Notes. i dont even really know how ot use SQL. hence the VERY LOOSE interpretation of database maintenance...hehe
hmm...i suppose it could go either way, o'chita. :) thanks again, though.
BOO !! : D
wha'? did I frighten everybody?? ooops, didn't mean to! :' /
Hi Babs : ) I was away with the faeries there for a while...
heh no worries babbler -- its another short puzzle, so the chatlog is fairly quiet today
oh phew! I was just gonna start singing my song: "nobody loves me, everybody hates me, think I'll go and eat worrrrrrrms." !! lol : D
"long thin slimy ones, short fat juicy ones, itsy bitsy fuzzy wuzzy worms!"
Chomp off their heads and squeeze out the juice And throw their tails away Nobody knows how I survive On worms three times a day.
*does the chicken dance, since theres no worm dance she knows of*
Ooey gooey, ooey gooey worrrrrrrrrrms ! lol! :D
Hi folks! Seems my 'mad as a March hare' icon is quite apt.:-)
lol!! hi Jac : )
Just found my last word. (The fl4/8 illnesses.) That was a short grid!
babbler, what does "change to list in BabAnon" mean in your theme list?
mornin' all! It's a fine looking morning here in Texas. Gonna 79 degrees today! YOHOO!
say, has anyone a clue for the fe 6/30?
fe6 is a man's hat
thanks Une. 'duh. I must've typed in the first 5 letters of that a million times not even seeing the vowel on the end! What a dummy.
Good Morning all - looks like another nice short grid today. Maybe I'll be cleaning house two days in a row huh? LOL I did post a song last night. Heard it on the radio and fell out laughing because it was all I could hear. Check it out.
yw :-)
faeriekae, read your profile, any Ky girl is ok in my book! My parents were raised in KY, Dad went to UK, etc. Great state!
hi Une : ) it means I made a mistake on the 'original' in BabAnon and duplicated a theme. I have corrected it in my 'live' list in my handbag. (This is why I didn't post in BabAnon)
Quick-that's right I got that old KY voodoo (soup beans and cornbread, fried chicken and mashed potatoes) LOL
and it's the home of George Clooney!!
So did your family live in the Lexington area Quick?
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm............. my kind of comfort food!
George Clooney Oooooooooh yesssssssssssss......
the board excepts bad words!!!???? good morning everyone.
excepts=accepts
Misst-just dont try typing one in on chat, it won't take that????
Not real proud of the George Clooney bit. :( I lived in Lexington for 4 years. My parents were raised in Corbin (southern KY). I have aunts, uncles, cousins all over the state (Berea, Louisville, etc.)
Quick-oh no you don't. I was born and raised in Somerset....do you know where that is?
isnt corbin the home of the Kentucky Colonel..and his fried chicken?
mist, I've been amazed (and apalled quite frankly) at some of the words that some grids have allowed.
You bet lian!
Kate-yes indeed it is....Hi ((x))
please tell me it doesn't accept the f one...
OH my, isn't that close to londen (sp?>)
it doesn't except the b**** one does it Kate?? :)
"BEEP" just in case..hahaha
LOL, no, but I tried fookin' and friggin' and got away with it, faerie..hahahah
Quick-just SouthWest of London about 45 mins. Lake Cumberland....That is where I grew up...
Faerie, We had our last family reunion at Cumberland Falls. It was absolutely gorgeous!
*gasp*
I'm singing the song "It's a small world afterall......"
Quick-you were very close to my family :( I miss them so much. I go down to Ky about every couple of months because I have 6 sisters and 2 bros and my MOM there.
misstear...i now live in Flintstone, GA..(yabba dabba doooooooo)...do you know of it?..(am a transplanted Mich Yankee) gasp
they didn't move far from home? Rare these days. But awesome.
Kate-not sure where Fintstone Ga is but it sounds like a cool town to be in. Do the people there wear shoes? LOL
Faerie..ALL of my family is in Mich..with cousins in Jersey..am a stranger in a strange land here..(learning southern speak)
I'm enjoying the chat so much, I'm ignoring the grid. Apparently, I am unable to multitask today. lol
never heard of flintstone, but I've heard of Between, Ga. Is it close to Stone Mountain by chance?
Kate-trust me you will be speaking like a true Southerner in no time. It is so easy to slip into. I have to really work at speaking proper. People in Michigan really make fun of Southerners...Assholes
know anything about the ha 7/40?
never mind :)
Wellll..faerie..some wear shoes when they go into town. Its located at the foot of Lookout Mtn..(rock city is seen from my back yard)..and we are about mile from TN border..(chattanooga)
lian...so you are up I75?
Faerie. the southerns here make fun of my Yankee accent..must be assholes live everwhar.
Kate-got it. I just looked it up in my atlas. Looks like a really nice location. Do you know why there are no prostitues in Tennessee? because they are all volunteers......
MissTears..coming from Atlanta, yes up 75..quickly accessable from 24 too..get off at the Incline railroad exit..
Sorry about the joke. not nice. I'm sorry........
LOL Faerie!
Miss-was kinda funny huh *tee hee hee*
Ooooooohj..hahaha..I will have to tell that one to my Tennessee Marine..(all i hear about too..are the Volunteers)...LMAO..ty for that.
Kate-you are very welcome. lol
still laughing at Faeries joke..LOL...am off for some breffus..NO GRITS
lian, you will have to learn all the southern jargon (I've been here 13 years), like shindig, hoedown, bodega, and fi'in to. Once you catch on, you will be able to understand more of the natives.
Miss-good job...you could be Kates teacher...lol I'm fixin' to go git in the share and git kleand up so i reckon i'll be back directly....
ok faerie...git 'er done!
Remember people in the South "warsh the clothes and hangem' out to dry" very inportant to get the "r" where it belongs.
my profound disclaimer: to anyone who is southern please know that I too consider myself a Georgian (an army brat who settled here) and dispite my family's best efforts to get me to move to DC with them all. I just can't leave my George red clay. So, please know I mean no disrespect. Even though I'm still tickled when I hear the genuine southern Ga drawls that I still have not mastered.
Did anyone check out my song on BabAnon? I'll go get clean and pretty and when I get back....we will trash another State...ok
lol faerie...let me go and get some work done...ya'll are killin' me!
I too am a Southern girl born and raised and very proud of it and yes I still carry the accent...so there...God Bless America.....
off to the shower for real this time *poof*
GO Dawgs!
Griiiid Morning all!
bunny - nobody else seems to be answering you, so I'll say good morning. Even though it's afternoon here.
TY Haz, thought I was all on my own here.
No, I'm here, lurking. I finished earlier on.
Hello. 18 to go for me this morning.
Morning Harp, I just started.
morning all
hint please for the da4/6.
It rhymes with one of the ha4/6.
da - is that yes in german?, def is a dash Morn Doxy
ja is yes in German - da is yes in Russian, I think.
Sorry, i only studied Spanish and can't even speak it, so Russian and German are way outta my vocab.
i used to be able to swear in german
ha6/27? I assume 7/40 is the plural? I don't have it either. Thanks.
ha6/27 - add the last four letters of a girl's name ju****. The 7 is the plural.
German is a language that lends itself to swearing - mainly because it is so difficult!
Thank you Haz!
You're welcome, harpjane.
I'm off to work now. I only have 3 words left. I don't want to ask for clues because then the puzzle will be done....
Bye Harp
Have a good day at work.
Morning all. Geesh! Only 72 words. Knew there couldn't be many after I hit the wall at 46.
It's teensy, I've been taking my time trying to stretch it out.
Hi all........Finished grid ages ago but thought i would pop in to see if you are all ok?
Hello Cait!
I'm down to 2, s 6 & 7
Hi, Cait. Pecking away. Tiny grid today.
Only 3 left - any help for the second ho5/14 (and ho6/24)?
Lauren: Glomming something all to yourself. + plural
People who won't spend their money ho*** their cash.
Did you know i have invented a new saying ? Yesterday i meant to say on the log i had to do the dreaded shopping but instead it came as the deaded shopping!!! Logged on this morning and they were all talking about it !!!
I got those - I need the other ones!
Sounds about right! I hate shopping, get to see all those things I can't have. You trend setter you!
ho + sounds like sun god and then plural
I knew i would be famous for something in my life!!
Got it - thanks! All done - my second completed grid ever!
Well done Lauren!!
WTG Lauren!
hi every one
Way to go Lauren!, whoo hooo
Good job, Lauren.
Hi bex
Thanks! I don't know what I'm going to do with the rest of my morning. Work, I guess.
hello bex
Lauren...do you do blinds???? *S*
can any one help with the ra 6 letters?
ra6 - small red veggie with a tail
Bex..ra6 a salad veg
Rob - I'll do your blinds if you do my lesson plans!
Perfect timing, Ch. Just the Ra I was looking for.
Lauren, I'll do your lesson plans if you go in for my mammo this morning :D
Ooooh, a teacher, what grade do you teach?
I teach gifted kids in an out-of-school enrichment program. Ages 6 -12!
That sounds great, I always wanted to teach at a Magnet school! That's alot od lesson plans though, all those different grades!
Not really - we focus a lot of socialization skills and do an 'enrichment project' for an hour a day. Today is learning about dams and then building one to stop up a 'river'. Fun and messy!
Hmmmm...I'd better do my blinds!!!!! darn!
I've decided to buy new ones to thwart cleaning the old ones, how's that for lazy?
good morning, everyone -- back for my last 20 :)
bunny, I went to babanon to look for your song... do you have the date it was posted? I looked in the 'interests' and the general categories. Wow, did you read Jacula's post about the singer named Jenkins? (just babbling here; never explored babanon beyond brandyjack's post before)
Morning Cyber
can anyone help with the 4/5 le?
Ch, ummm, what song?
Hi cyber
le 4/5 - l plus anagram of female possessive pronoun
Hi, everyone!!!! Movieman here, just reporting on his progress....... I was trying to complete today's grid without any assistance whatsoever, but the 7's are just frustrating me....... So could anyone plz help me....... Gracias.....
bunny, sorry -- I was thinking of what I read in an earlier post this morning, thinking it was you. It was fairiekae... I'll go back and look for her name.
movieman, the su7 is the su6 with a sometimes vowel on the end :)
ha 7/40 (plural of ha6/27 - add last four letters of girl's name (Ju***) su7/56 - describes a bad smell
Haz gave a good clue at 9:24 for the ha 7.
anyone help with the sh 5 letters?
And the ha7 is plural of ha6
sh5/14 - often used to describe piece of broken glass
Sh5 - a piece of crystal
su6?
Still can't get the ha6 & 7 combo....... Could anyone plz elaborate......?
I just hose my blinds down...but it takes so long for the carpet and furnitute to dry!!!
Allllll done. Off to physical therapy now. See you kids tomorrow.
su6/33 - more usually spelt with a ph in the middle.
hi everyone!
Movieman - think of perma-tanned Miss Chalmers. Use the last four letters of her first name and add to ha for the 6.
Good morning TO
Hi temple and bye for now!! My favourite tv programme is coming on!! Back in an hour!!
Thanx Haz...... That's 2 more obscure words out of the way......
Thank you, haz

you're welcome!
Bye cait!
Which program? Cait
bye judi, caitlyn!
No wonder I coudn't get those 2 ha's........... I know as much about religion as I do about how to put a PC together.......LOL
Or how to count to 100 in French......
Its called deal or no deal a game of chance with big money that can be won .
co-worker's son is on amazing race...i do not watch it
I better get too, things to do, tomorrow's Babble grid to wait on! Take care all, til tomorrow!
bye, bunny!
Down to 7 words to go now...... But my last three h's are frustrating me....... I already have ha4/6, ha6/27, ha7/40, ha4/6, ha4/6, ha4/6, ha5/14, he4/5, ho4/5, ho5/14, ho6/24, ho5/16, hu4/6 & hu4/6....... What on Earth are the other three...........? Gracias.... ....
Ta - da! -- that was an easy one -- I might actually get some work done today!
Cyber, I wouldn't say it was that easy............ I'm still stuck on my last three h's, my last 2 f's, my last r and my last t..........
movieman: you are missing the last three ho's: 4/5, 5/14, 6/24
Cyber, could you plz give me definitions for those missing ho's......?
ho's: traditional Israeli round dance.
Hey all.... OMG! 72 today? That means I wil only find like 20 lol
Movieman: think Hava Nagila dance with variation on spelling and plural.
Thanx Cyber........ Had to google the def., but I got it......
yo toes...
Yoooooo! How goes? =o)
Movieman -- just read your profile -- my 12 year old granddaughter was diagnosed last year with Asperger's. The going has been pretty tough, but I think the "meltdowns" are getting a little fewer and farther between. It's hard on the family as well as the sufferer.
Cyber, I was diagnosed in my early 20's (I'm now 28), and it came as a relief in some respects, because I finally had a reason as to why I never got on with my peers at school, and why I found it extremely hard to find employment......
Woot! I get to go to lunch at 11 :) mmmm pasta!
Any 7 letter word clues?
you can actually make a 7 letter word outof this mess?
Anyone care to help me with my last t (from the bottom row).......? I have the th4, two tu4's & a tu5...... What's the other......
tu 4 - think of music.... tu 5 - past tense of tu4
Yes temple.... two 7 letter words
Movieman - she also has an anaphylactic reaction to fowl, which complicates things. She is terrified of eating any kind of meat in case there has been cross contamination. How do you reason with someone who is in no condition to be reasoned with? We are so careful with her food, and she knows this, but still can't believe that everything will be all right.
Toesock, I already have those two, i'm still missing another t4.....
Happy (Ash) Wednesday!
There are 2 th 4's
Thanx Cyber......
th 4/5, th 4/6
There are 3 Th4's Th4/5 and two th4/6's
Hi does anyone know how many points there are in total please as 1 to find, thanx
I agree, Tiger -- missed one of the th 4/6's
movieman -- do you have a suggestion re my 10:41 post?
Finished!!!!!!! Just got my last three words (two f4's & an r4) by monkey-typing...... Gotta go....... Thanx again to y'alll for the assistance (one of these days I AM gonna finish without help)........ Byyyyyeeeeee!!! !!
Carolecs -- most of us use Brandyjack's 2 letter word list, posted at babbler's anon, general, stats. (see friends of Babble, upper rh corner of this page)
Cyber, not really, because I've never really been in that situation, although I did go through a phase of not eating anything that had been flavoured with alcohol, as I am a strict tee-totaller.......
And my parents tried to assure me that I wouldn't actually be able to taste the alcohol, but I just wouldn't believe them........
I hear footsteps upstairs, so I'd better go and make breakfast. Good luck, everyone :)
Although my aversions to certain foods have improved over the last year or so, because before I wouldn't go near anything with tuna or salmon in it, but now I just love the stuff......
Congrats on finishing!
Seeya Cyber, and thanx again for the assistance AND the discussion....... I've gotta go too now....... Byyyeeeeeee everyone.......
Greetings All. It's been a long time since I've played and an even longer time since I've been able to finish. I am now only one word away from finishing and I can't find that word. Please help. FE 6/30 Thanks.

I didn't understand the earlier ha6/27 and ha7/40 clues. Could someone please help w/ a new clue?
Oops, just found the un6. thanks for the vibes!
To ha add 1st syllable of Dagwood's boss
ha + the first four letters of what you do when you are unsure...to di----. Then the plural :)
Grant, great clue, thanx
(and hi, by the way! ^^)
Thanks, all. I actually had to google dagwood's boss's name, but I finally got it. I'm finished for today- now I can go to lunch. Bye and have a good day everyone!
is the su7 related to the su6?
yay vtd!
*eyes glaze over* 13 away from finishing and it is looking bleak...
HI LEMONed!!!!
mmmm Lemon glaze
in your 15 year-old wisdom, have you the su7?
Thanks for the clues, everyone. The Dagwood clue was great!
warai, Smaller-san...I wish :/
The su7 is the su6 made an adjective.
the su7 must be really ha4/6
I'll say...or, it had better be, just so I can still feel good about myself
THANKS CHARM!! DONE
yay, smaller!
*nrrrrp* that all depends on what the su 6 actually is...x_x
LOL LEMONed! Do you have the 6?
the six is a yellow powder that smells like eggs and usually has a "ph" in the middle
*blinks at Smaller* well, yes and no... ... ...mainly no XD
Thanks Charm! I don't think I have EVER finished before noon
eeep...thanks, Smaller! ^^
I don't usually play in the morning, but I'm playing hookie from exercise today and exercising the little gray cells instead. At least it's not 400 words before noon! gotta run and pick up the ankle biter from school. See everyone later.

sorry sherby, so difficult to rein in the exuberance sometimes
bex, past tense it

Lemon-we will try no to get carried away and eat you today. LOL We will play nice....*not*

LEMONed- and forgo an opportunity to be sadistic?!! don't be daft!
warai! I would have more chance of survival if I was covered in syrup and fed to starving dogs :/

I fancy lemon puffs tonight!!
Sherb-well yes, all the food groups brb doorbell

Rob squared...hmmmmmmmmmm....or maybe to the nth power
hi boreetos! small but ha4/6 grid today
hi boreetos :D smaller - we seldom get snow in London, but when we do we cope with it VERY badly...
why is my mouth watering????
:) only 72, sheesh.
it better be because of the lemon puffs...not the doorbell :)
Hi boreetos smaller in Wales we get a mixture of weather but in winter where i live we can get lots of snow uuurgh
brb...doorbell
we had a bit of a snow flurry yesterday here in Seattle.
All this talk about food, and I'm fasting today. Oh well, the pancakes from yesterday were great!
i'd rather have a doorbell then a lemon puff. but a lemon puff will do. chocolate is the true substitute for a doorbell
oohhhh congrats Rob^2
I'm back Smaller go to BabAnon then to Other Intrest then to the Parody songs. Mine should be the last one posted.
anyone have the two sevens yet?
Okay, I am now seriously resisting the urge to make a bad taste joke...
HI Harpjane!!!!!
Did you enjoy it, Faeriekae? XD
hey, my doorbell just rang too... really!!
you could give a clue for the fe6/30 instead...
Wow - Sherb and I have doorbells that ring...lol

Caitlyn, ROFLMAO!!! Even better!
*ignores the obvious tasteless comment*
I just made up an su7, and it worked... seems like that's what you have to do to complete this grid...
Thank you, thank you very much. I heard that on the raido last night and that was all I could hear for hours so .... there you go....lol Cait-so you have a nice knocker or nice knockers...
Temple - were you going to say 'only one?'...?
i tried that too, but "Sunhurt" didn't count. :)
Temple Owl, O come on!! Say it!!! "Caitlyn - shouldn't you have TWO knockers!"
*chokes slightly* who has nice knockers?! hm...looks like Takumi may go ring on someone's doorbell soon...

Evan-Hi :)
im all about the knockers...lol
While we are talking about my knocker(s) it gives LEMONed a chance to escape
hi Evan. sherb, just not getting it.
Hi Eva! Apparently Rob^2 takes just as long to PooPoo as he does to deal with the doorbell ring
Evan-I just got new ones a couple years ago so me too. lol
I'd like to escape, Caitlyn, but with all this talk of knockers I just can't leave XD
boreetos - volcanoes emit this substance, matches are made with it, you use it in chem labs...

LEMONed your english IS improving!!!!!!!!!!!
evan-best money i've ever spent.... *^_^*
"sunhut" should SO be a word!!
warai, Caitlyn-san...in the best of possible ways XD
I think sunfed should be a word too
can anyone help with the h/6 and h/7? They're my last & I am stumped.
I am missing one of the middle ha4/6. I have the one that is a present tense of a sound. An clues for the other?
miss tea: HA + the last 4 letters of archie bunkers wife thne plural
"sunfry" should be a word too! yknow, like if you cracked an egg on the sidewalk...hehe

i have the H7 -- any hints on the other one?
eva, I COMPLETELY agree!!
eva, it's an su7, very stinky element
thanks smaller -- i hadnt tried it as an adjective...heh
smaller...one of these days you're going to be in trouble with me!!! I just haven't figured out how yrt!!!
clue for su 7/56 I have the 6/33 the stinky one.
Rob, due to my selective amnesia, I have NO IDEA what you're talking about. I'm an angel. A sweet, compassionate, honest, humanitarian angel.
faerie -- take your stinky one, and add a questioning letter on the end. :)
Smaller, you forgot to mention you are a cannibal...
yes, yes she is, a very sweet "simple" person.
faieeiriieiek, add the ONLY vowel that isn't in your name
Im going now ,all this talk about Knockers has got me hot and bothered, think i will go and look at the snow!!! Have a nice afternoon/evening Happy babbling all Catch you tomorrow LOL
oh yes, and a simple cannibal. but still VERY angelic.
lol smaller...that could be an O or a U...
Gosh! I think I'm falling for smaller's version of the facts... could that be????
bye caitlyn!
Caitlyn, you can't hide from the knockers...
ummmmp-scuffs feet and looks a floor.....don't know what your talking about Smaller...
how did I miss the conversation about knockers???
faeiieriourriieekkaee, I of course meant the spelling of your name when I spell it! LOL
Robx2 - smaller is very nice, very pretty, truthful, respectful, and all that other sh 4/5
warai, RobRob-san...normal men like me do not miss knockers when there's a chance
I think I just got called abnormal!
youd think with 22 words left to find and only 5 of them being longer than 4 letters, that id be able to find something! lol
Robx2 - Lemoned is how old and you are how old? Dude you missed it.
*shrugs* the knockers never lie
faeriekae...I believe you about smaller....I think....
Good eye Lemon ^_~
There's a point, Faeriekae-san...I am 15, with a mind like a sewer...
hardhit for h7!
er...good eye? *confused*
i may be in my later 20s, but i still have the sense of humor of a 15 year old... in the last week alone, i have giggled at the last names "rumcock" and "woodcock" and the full name "richard b. hung"
RobRob is from Walla Walla by the way....Thats what he told us last night anyway.
or the name Ben Dover
I grew up with a neightbor named Beecher Dick. LOL
i dated a guy in high school named Bruce Head. his uncles name was Richard.
Lemon-good eye-you spotted the knockers right away...duh....
I was just kidding about Walla Walla...actually from Pago Pago
Evan-OMG-and the moral of the story is "she dated-past tense"
lds, ha7, past tense of have. plus 4 letters of how someone with a lisp would say "is"
heh, well, yeah. hes actually passed away, but we had lost touch long before then. but still...how can people set up their children like that?
oooh...well...naturally XD it is only now I have come to learn your fine language that I can laugh at a neighbour back in Kyoto...Haraden Kok...
LOLLOLOLOLOL, you guys are so funny!!!
fe 6/30 anyone? btw, I used to work next to a guy named Phuc Dung
rh please?
walnut -- a mans hat
Phuc Dung? LOLOLOLOL
lost touch?????? hmmmmmmmmmmmm
thought about introducing myself, then I saw his name tag, and thought again... until I found out its pronounced "fook"...
Walnut-that would be a good reason to keep a distance.
can any help with the tr 5 letters?
temple - rh4 - is the family name for the poison oaks. or, pronouce like the beginning of a male chicken
Bex-there aren't any tr's
okay...thankfully, I have to go now :) Good luck!
tr5. when you goto court, they say that you swear to tell the whole tr5 and nothing but the tr5!
TR5 -- the facts, not a lie
ooops sorry I forgot there is "1"
thanks walnutchen
and I didn't have it but I do now. thanks.
missing 2 of my 6es, any help? fe6 30 ha6 27 ho6 24 su6 33 un6 27

evanadine...interesting icon
OOps I meant ho6
I missed it! I need an instant replay...my curiosity is aroused
ho 6/24 - an alternate spelling of a word you shout when you are happy about something
ok. Anyone need any clues? if not, I am moving on to my Sudoku for the day...

why not 'hardhit' - enough to make me bawl
he 4/5 pls
th4/6's.... one is like one of the days of the week, the other is short for driving from one end of the tunnel to the other
and ro5 - they are my last two words...please?
quick-chickens
ro5 is the pl of the ro4 before it
sorry - th4/5 not 6 - i have the oposite of that
of course (hiding under a chair with embarassment) it is the easy ones that hide the best
its the th4/6 right after it with a differnt vowel
doh - took a left when i should have taken a right! ty walnut
Quick, not to worry, I find that missing those is a sign of HIGH intelligence. At least that's what i tell myself when i miss the easy ones
As it is St. David's Day today, my icon is my husband, with his two Welsh sisters, and brother-in-law, taken in Bridgend, South Wales. Finished, by the way!
I need a clue for one of the ha 4/6 in the middle, please.
I'll go with that, smaller !
yay, wren!
thanks smaller! now I won't feel so dumb next time I miss an easy word....
kaye - think funny or opposite of soft, there are 3 ha4/6
done! thanks walnut!
phone rang... what did I miss?
ha4 - 2x related to laughter 1x related what happens to their genitals when ppl get excited
dl88, I've got those, just not the other one.
rob -- thanks for the compliment on my icon -- i just found it on the google image search. :)
LOL Walnut!!! LOL sherb!!! oh you had better fun on your own!!! we're all envious
sorry, hope that wasn't inappropriate... a better clue would be the texture of a rock.
HI dl88!
LOL walnut!!!
bye everyone! have fun!
Walnut, thanks. Duhhh, I finally got it all.
sherb, well, that's assuming the phone ringing is similar to a doorbell ring
Bye temple owl!!
Kaye, take your first ha4/6, remove the final vowel and make it plural Hey smaller, how goes it?
bye Temple :D smaller - it was a good friend on the phone... but not that good...
dl88 - my fingers are frozen but other than that, it's going great! and you? LOL sherb!!
why is everyone so frisky today? ...is it Spring in the iar?
*air*
>_< I don't believe 'thar' isn't a word.
sherb, probably. and i've heard it's a common after effect from pancakes
well, I certainly tried it Mooog, just to check...
dl88, thanks for all your help. Thanks to everyone.
smaller, things are good, finished earlier and just popped back in. I would suggest sitting on your hands to warm them but that makes it difficult to babble!
Moog, true. as in "thar is a bear in them thar woods"
ah, that explains it... I didn't get my ration of pancakes yesterday...
how about "thar she blows"
NO Smaller I'M HERE..........
And 'thar she blows' . . . I mean . . .how many times is that used in classic literature (Moby Dick :p)
LOL dl88! that's what I've been doing while i read the posts!!!! HOW DID YOU KNOW?!!!
ooh tbear, NICE icon :D
I can see we're on the same page dl88
It's called Ash Wednesday!!
LOL tbear!! dl88!!! I was going to write that too. ....but i didn't know how well it would go over in light of today's frisky theme! you're soo brave
it's lovely
oops! meant MOOOG on that last one, not dl88
LOL!! you both said it!!!!
smaller - seems to be just in step with yesterday's log and intuition on the cold hands mooog - absolutely
UGH - it's getting downright HOT here today. It is already 82 degrees and headed for 89. YUK - not ready for that
quick, that is warm. i'm only at 38 degrees
wanna trade?
Quick - hard to imagine you get such heat in March... we're hoping the snow stays away...
quick - I will trade, 40 with wind & rain, you betcha
Quick...got the heating on full blast a sweater and a hoody on with furry boot slippers and a hot water bottle and I'm still cold....it snowed today....bbbbrrrrrrrr
I'm never happy. When it is cold outside, I'm like a cat and curl up in a sunny spot. When it's hot outside, I have fans in every room.
smaller - assuming you're talking Fahrenheit, we're about that temp here
brrr sherb!!! yes quick, please trade! but only for a couple of days : )
well, we have had an unusally warm winter this year
anybody have the yu 4/7 or last tu 4/5?
can any one help with the su 6 and 7?
bex, yellow element that stinks.
quick, go right on the grid for the yu
the last tu4/5 is a plural
I know I'm going to regret this, but I'm just not seeing the ha6/27...
ha6, past tense of have + how someone with a lisp would say "is"
ha6/27 ends like the woman who cut off Holofernes's head in the Bible
what a STUPID word... thanks smaller :D
sherb, check out the definition -- if you aren't careful calling it stupid, you may get the sherb embassy burned...
thanks Vicuna - would have had to google that one :D
Yeah, I was afraid it was a little too obscure, but I couldn't think of anything else.
LOL vicuna!!!!
I take it all back... smaller said it was a verb... IT'S ALL SMALLER'S FAULT!!
(It's either LOL or cry!)
LOL!!!! oopsy!!!
gotta go for a bit! happy babbling!!
smell of lasagne wafting from the oven... gotta go before my oven timer rings!! :D

hehe that is the one sitcom my husband will watch.
i love aunt esther!!!
I like the theme song - even have it in my iTunes.
Sandford also said, "That's the difference between you and me, son. You can never have another mother; but, I can always have another mama!"
in horse feathers, groucho marx said ra 6 made him whimsical
Ren - did you google this?
LOL robrob...i like that line as well!!!

i giggle a lot...and i google a lot...i guess i'm a lot of googlie giggles....8)
hmmmmmm beginning to think evanonut is not the only nut<G>
nope - my brain stores strange things...nothing i can use on a day to day basis.....8{
If you jiggle and wiggle when you giggle..do you joogle and woogle when you google?
Hahahhaaa robrob
HI, everyone, late start for me, fe6/30 ?
I have the exact same brain problem Ren. Only in my case it is usually song lyrics.
deeha: ha6 is not easy to explain but its ha + (if it was allowed)di4/6 and pluralise
periwinkle - man's hat. how many words are there please?
peri: fe6 a type of hat
janus: 72
bobsta and janus, thanks found it
LOL robrob!!!!
smaller?????
wow this is really easy today. I probably could have done it without the list but due to time constraints had printed it anyway.
ooh - french me is in the puzzle - "le nut"
HEEHEEE
su7 is really a word? I found it by the numbers but hmmmmm.
ha6/27 and ha7/40?
This is freaky - I'm down to two words left. I haven't even been sitting here for 45 minutes yet.
Peri - ha + di 4/6 if you have lisp. the 7 is the plural.
peri: i gave a clue for ha6 and 7 at 5.16
musicmom, thanks, new words for me
me too. I'm not clever. Saw clues earlier.
I'm finished! Done in 40 minutes. Hmmmm guess I have to clean the house tonight now<g> I do have laundry to fold and props to gather for tomorrow. I'll hang out for a little though.
Ren you still here?
Hi all. Bobsta, who is that in your icon?
Hi mab.
need help with ho5/14 and6/24 have the one in wich you amass things and plural
Hi musicmom. Pretty icon - is that the flower called dutchmans' breeches, or bleeding heart, or something else alogether?
Peri - if you have the 4/5 that is a Jewish dance. Add a consonant at the end and then the plural.
hi everyone
Thanks Mab - I know it as bleeding heart - symbolic of Christ for Ash Wednesday.
Hi doxy.
Hi Doxy.
evenin babblers!!
That's interesting mm. I love that flower, but didn't know of the symbolism. It's nice.
Hi Eva.
hi eva
Howdy, evanadine. Ok. What's your icon?
Thanks MAb. I didn't know of the symbolism until I googled Ash Wednesday last night. I am Christian but we typically don't follow the litergical year. I felt like a hypocrite selecting something blatantly Ash Wed.
it says "ashes" and looks like its smoldering... i figured im not catholic + we dont celebrate ash wednesday, so ashes were good enough for me. :)
Hey Evanadine - we were on the same thought line.
not sure im seeing your updated icon MM, whats yours?
Mine is a bleeding heart. (small pinkish flower). I found out last night it is symbolic of Christ. We aren't Catholic either and I didn't want an actual Ash Wed. icon.
ahh, then i am seeing the right one, just kinda hard to make out. :)
I don't know anything about this part of the Christian year, so I went neutral with Dizzy Gillespie's trumpet.
Yesterday was a party horn with a mask. Cannot decide which musical to use tomorrow. I used Sweeney Todd the last time.
I thought that's what that was Mab. Good choice!
whats tomorrows theme?
According to the list on Bab Anon - musical/theater
i thought it was movie posters . . .
Oh maybe I goofed. i'll go look again.brb
Une! warai!
thank you all for the help, first time ever i finnished the grid .just joined last nite.
according to babblers profile: "Classic Movie Posters" she also noted that its a change to whats in BabAnon
Mar 2 musicals - theater/film (Babbler) That's what is under the Themes thread in Bab Anon.
Ohhhh......
Okay I stand corrected! Glad I hadn't decided yet. Now I can rethink it. Thanks!
Way to go Yvo!
That's wonderful Yvo!!!!
dont laugh, it took me most of the day , but it was worth it
no ones laughing Yvo -- thats a great accomplishment!
I've been babbling for quite a few months, Yvo, and I'm still comparatively slow at it.
No way was I laughing. Finishing is always a great thing! okay I found my poster for tomorrow. Not going to update yet.
I take a while also.
I'm usually very slow. Today blew me away how fast I finished. I'm sure I'll get whammied tomorrow.
i still havent finished todays...lol...i got lazy
Ok. Since we don't have to be too reverent today, I think I will continue with my jazz fixation and change Dizzy's trumpet for Dizzy himself.
Cool Mab. I love Dizzy. Do you like the Marsalis family? Greg is a sax player and he hooked me on Branford. We have a neat cd of Charlie Brown songs played by the many of the family members.
I wish you'd make up my mind for me. I went by babanon for musical/theatre. Although mine is a poster perhaps it will do?
That was my bad ExWren ---- Sorry
I love yours exwren!!!
ExWren I love it too. That reminds me my Phantom CD has been missing since we moved. I need to go through some more boxes. I quit unpacking when I started babbling == hmmmmmm.
I saw the show last August, AND had a tour backstage! It was fabulous
I have a special affection for Diz. That's great that you have a sax player in the family. I took up alto sax in grammar school, but sadly didn't stay with it.
I'm jealous. I would love a backstage tour.
Ex - I'm jealous.
Greg has a Master's Degree in Performance. He is playing in a concert called Evening of Elegance on Sunday. I had to go buy a dress.
when you think only 72 words ,im awed by some of you that do this in an hour ,anyway you all are very nice
oh darn, you just HAD TO buy a dress!! :)
Oh, and yes, I think the Marsalis's are fabulous. Harry Connick took piano lessons from the elder Marsalis, and always wished he coud be a Marsalis.
Yeah. Ever since I quit my day job the dressiest outfit I have is khaki pants. I wear lots of yoga pants and jeans in my current career. Saturday I have to go shoe shopping (and bra) in a neighboring town.
finished.
Love the Marsalis. Love Harry Connick. Love Josh Redman and Marian McPartland (actually saw the last two in concert here on campus).
How great to live in a house of music makers! Ex-Wren you are so lucky! And, you are always stylish.
Thank you mab, I am touched
Mab - my degree is in piano and voice, Greg is a saxophone player (also plays other woodwinds less proficiently but good) and our older daughter Sarah has been playing flute for two years and took her first private lesson today. Hannah isn't old enough for lessons yet but takes Kindermusik classes with me.
Hello folks. I cannot find the Ha 6/27 (and Ha 7/40, plural??) Clues please!!
I'm still learning about jazz. I know Marian, but am only familiar with the name Josh Redman. Harry is so talented. I've heard a little of him from his latest - Pajama Game, on Broadway. I love his voice and his piano and he is wildly handsome.
helenary -- gave this one a little while ago and it worked. ha+di4/6 (if you have a lisp) the 7 is the plural.
I agree about HC Mab. Josh Redman is a saxophone player. Relatively young.
HA 6 is ha plus da4/6, but spelled as if one had a lisp. The 7 is plural. Does that help?
di4/6 I mean. God forbid I should ever get anything right the first time round.
which 6 am i missing? i have: fe6 30 ha6 27 ho6 24 ho6 24 su6 33 un6 27
thanks musicmom and mab..it worked like a charm. Luv'ya
yw
RA 6, I think Eva.

nite, nite.
i'm missing an Ha 5/14 and an Ho 6/24......this will would be my first time ever completing a grid...help!!!!!!
Evening/morning all. Anyone need any help?
ha 5 is plural of the 4 above it.
ha5/14 - add a curly consonant to your unyielding ha4 before it.
so is ho 6
ho6 - pl. of the ho5 before it.
Oops, sorry misstearweus, didn't mean to tread on your toes.
ho- 5/16 pl
no worries...multiple clues also help the silent players...
i'm in 4 letter HELLL!!!! I have 5 left, but really can someone help me with that or? (oh please, oh please don't let it be obvious...)
I agree, misstearweus.
or + short word for a commercial (as on TV or on billboards).
oops my bad... i actually need the last 5/14 and 6/24 of ho
or4/5 actually means: 1. In a direction toward the mouth. 2. Situated nearer the mouth in relation to a specific reference point.
I swear I typed that sometime this morning!!!! ggrrrr! Thanks!
y/w, miss.
woohoo i finished my first grid....thanks for all the help...aren't there supposed to be fireworks or something?
Last ho5/14 - add the same letter as it starts with to the ho4/5 before it. Then plural it.
FIREWORKS!!!!
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR BAMIS*~*~*~*~
clue for rh 4/6 pls, ty
thank you! i can now go away happy ! lol
congrats bamis!
rh4/6 - A genus of vines and shrubs including several species, especially poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac. I once had the rh** typhus in my garden and the roots came up all over the lawn and everywhere.
thank you Jacula
y/w Anmogi.
You have 0 word(s) left to find way too much labor over 4 letter words!!!! no need for firewords jac...I'll enjoy Bamis... Night everyone...off to top Simon in my Idol critiquing...
....And the tumbleweed rolls across the log, as is always the case with a short grid...
LOL, night Miss.
so true...it was a ghost town around midday today...
Miss - I think we have a couple of 'changeover' times here when theEuropeans are either sleeping or busy and when you lot Over The Pond are doing the same. Happily, we do all meet at times.
and to that dear Jac I say hail and hello
le-4/5 pl
so true...I've popped on around 3am EST a few insomniac nights and the board looked like Mardi Gras.
Hiya Blaze. Have you got snow in Canada? It keeps trying here and some parts of GB already have a covering.
Hey Jac. Just saw you as I walked through the room. I added two parody songs yesterday. Really folks - I am writing lesson plans. It is okay to trust your children with me. <G> It only looks like I'm chatting on babble.
the part of your glasses that you see thru
Blaze said a word!!!
tks
Shame on you Blaze. :-)) I did it twice the other day.
Hiya MusicMom. Yes, I read them earlier. Enjoyed them. Hope more Babblers will contribute. I'm sure Jamie's reading them.
su 6?
Here in Vancouver we do not have snow.. in the lower city part... the mountains however a looking very white and beautiful.... I am sure there are lots of places with snow... just not here at the moment...
need other le
I think it is fun. Just pop into my head sometimes while I'm driving around town.
Add the sometimes vowel to the wrongly spelled smelly chamical.
Other le is a city in North Dakota, apparently.
MM - I agree. I have quite a group of friends and my O/H who all write parody songs. It's great fun.
musicmom that is why I should finish the grid before chatting.....ROFLOL
ABBA and Beatles songs lend themselves very well to parodying.
Yep that's how I did it. Started talking before searching. Shame shame
Blaze - Didn't realise you were in Vancouver, or I'd not have asked such a silly question. My uncle used to live there. He's in Courtice now.
(That's Ontario, btw.)
You can get lots more information on Vancouver now that we are the new winter olympics hosts....
last word still stuck on ho 5/16. brain tired tonight
ho 5/16 - Gray or white with or as if with age. Grizzled.
(Add the sometimes vowel to your frosty ho4/5.)
i'm sorry guys, i still can't figure out the su6?
su-smells like rotten eggs
Leslie --- yellowing chemical smells like rotten eggs. i think it is spelled wrong in the grid.
su6 - symbol is 'S'. Rotten eggs and volcanoes give it off. It's normally spelled with a 'ph' in the middle. Vile smelling chemical. Yellowy coloured.
i thought it was spelled wrong too, but follow the letters the other way
ooh, i got it. that is spelled right, i was trying to spell it wrong! thanks guys.
I've come to the conclusion over today's log that the 'su6' is spelled with a 'ph' in the middle in UK and both ways in the US.
I must have some UK in me because I use ph
MM - Maybe it's either an age-related thing, as teaching methods change, or a regional thing in US? I don't know.
dictionary.com lists both, but with the f first
I don't know either. If I hadn't seen clues in the log much earlier this morning before I was even ready to play I would have had a hard time with it.
FIREWORKS HERE ALSO. TKS EVERYONE
LeslieAnn. It would have the 'f' first, as it's alphabetically before the 'ph'. Hang on, and I'll check in my big (real book) dictionary...
last two - ha 6/27 and 7 (plural, i assume)
y/w lbetterman.:-)
finished here too!! thanks everyone
congrats finishers!
Well done, AnMogi.
Terrific Cheers to everyone who has finished.
My dictionary says su (ph) or su (f) (US) - then goes on to define it.
ha6 & 7 - # 1. A report of the sayings or actions of Muhammad or his companions, together with the tradition of its chain of transmission. 2. The collective body of these traditions.
Hmmmm my high school science teacher was British. Wonder if that has anything to do with how I spell it.
Google 'sunna' or 'sunnah' for the ha words.
MM - It probably does.
I gave a clue at 6:30 p.m. for the ha words as well.
Another clue - the 'ha' singular word ends like the proper name for 'Judy' or 'Edie'.
ha6 ha+ last few letters of archie bunker's wife's first name & ha7 plural
can I get some help with the A, been starin at it forever
Okay --- really am leaving this time. Greg is home and starving. Wednesday nights are his late night to teach. The girls and I eat without him. See you all tomorrow.
the 6:30 clue did it, musicmom! thanks, and done!
The 'a' word is a mine entrance. (Almost horizontal.)
'Bye,MM. Enjoy your evening.
ad + cousin **
LOL, Leslie. Now I'm seeing the hairy baby with a dummy in the middle!
Jacula-Hi :) I'm already dressed for tomorrow, I finished earlier but thought I would drop in to see who is here.
Hi FaerieKae. YOu look lovely. Are you ready to rush off from your wedding and go off on a bus?:-) Great film! I haven't chosen mine yet.
LOL-There will be no wedding here....
It really is a great film.
Faerie - there wasn't a wedding there either! LOL.
still cant get a...any more clues?

I felt sad when Anne Bancroft died. She was the Mr. Robinson we all strived to be.

OK, Faerie. I've just been 'pinged' on MSN, also. BRB.
and I'm back. any clues needed?
ok then, guess I'll call it a night myself. Good Night*
'Night, 'night, Faerie. Sleep well.
Having a video convo with my MSN friend in Scotland and he's just gone off to cook himself something. I am now staring a wall corner, ceiling and window blind in his office. He's got rock music playing, but I can't quite hear what it is. I can also hear him crashing about in his kitchen!*-/
Hi, everyone! This is Angelsong, logged in as my daughter, Johnson. I just got her a Babble Pro membership!
Hello Angel.
Is there only one a word in thid grid?
Soory, thiS
SORRY. sorry
Grant - There are 72 words in thith grith - but if you're pithed, I doubt you'll find many of them. LOL.
However, when you look for ra6, and the ha6 and 7, you might be glad you're 'ish'd! LOL.
Jac: currently have 69. Looking for the pesky 3.
Can't fault 69 as a number, but what pesky 3 do you seek?
Assume any position in my behalf
Omigod! Not again. I can't take this from strangers twice in one night! Just tell me which words you need clues for.
Ah, think I just worked it out astrologically - Venus arrives at its greatest angular distance east of the Sun (46 degrees). The brilliant planet now swings as far to the east (left) of the Sun as it will get from our viewpoint, setting four hours after sundown and continuing to wane in phase as well as slowly enlarging in size. Venus (the female planet) is now far away, The males (the Suns) are all fretting. LOL.
. Maybe it's time for John Gray to invest the ten bucks. (Actually, aren't we all taking this from strangers?)
a clue for rh4/6 please
Rhymes with lose
nevermind i found it
Okay,Shorty. I gave a great clue for that earlier though! LOL.
Sorry, just calming down here from a totally unexpected turn in an MSN convo from someone I have talked to for some years now. We just had our first video convo. My Other Half was just peeing himself laughing because he said it's what he though all along. Well, it was a shock to me!
what time was it?
Good Evening to all -- a tired Woulf has returned to the den to seek how big today's grid is :) As it is only 72, the hunt is on!!!
7.08pm.
Wolfie. HELLO! Rushes towarda and hugs! SO GLAD TO SEE YOU!
Hi woulf - been waiting. Finished it last night. Think I'm going the opposite from normal olders...can't sleep!
Hope I didn't knock you over? LOL.
Hi jac
8 to go........so near yet so far
((**Jac**)) --- it's been tricky finding time to properly Babble lately ;)
Hiya Hoot, WolfMama. What are you on about? The older you get, the less sleep you need.
Hey hoot!! ((**BIG HUG**))
((BIG HUG)) right back!
jac ...just been reading the log tell us what was surprising about the video conversation ...im fascinated
Jac I never slept more than 6 hrs at any time...Now down to 3-4!
Ah! Love it! A mother and son moment. You can't argue with that.:-)
LOL
Jac we've had more contact since I started this than ever before! :D
Hoot - I can do 3 or less, but not 4 right now. If I do 4 hours' sleep then I have to go for 8 or even 12 more. ^ or 7 is okay.
Hey is that the picture I sent you woulf?
Hoot - I believe you!
ok how about tr5/14 i aint seeing it
The immediacey (if there is such a word) of the Net, is far more convenient, I guess.
I sleep more than 5 or go back to bed after the BF leaves for work and it's like I haven't slept at all. Weird!
Yep -- it fits me best these days -- I have been dog tired most nights with dealing with Seb on the overnights and when I am on the computer he is usually sleeping on my chest :)
shorty its what politions dont tell
politicians
OH MY GOSH TY
I slept a good night's sleep last night, Hoot, and only had fizzy water, no alcohol. Was woken at 4am by B'F's alarm (set to music - usually crappy music at that time of the morn.) and was FREEZING. No heat to be found from his body and so I stomped off and made myself a hot water bottle. Then his crappy music alarm woke me again, andf then AGAIN. At that point, I got so mad, and said so, that he left the bed and the house to go to work PRONTO! LOL.
do you think drinking wine at night keeps you awake...i always wonder
Sandyloo - I think drinking wine at night helps me sleep. I was juzt talking about drinking only water before sleeping - I woke up in the end with a tension headache and then overslept after that by 2 hours!
Jac I didn't even hear him go this morning! Doesn't happen too often but I stayed up to finish last night so when I woke at 7 I was right on schedual!
i have trouble sleeping never used to guess its the age! but someone told me wine can keep you awake and i always have a glass or two at night
Sandyloo - I sometimes have a drink to help me relax enought to sleep . But just one! Too many and my mind goes into party mode and I don't get sleepy for hours!
had a good nites sleep last nite tho its midday here and im trying to get motivated to do housework
Hoot - most of the time I don't hear him go, or his alarm, though I do tend to think the half-remembered things from the small awakenings all meld into one over a week or a month. Thing is, his alarm wakes my 'kids' (21 and 18) up in their rooms! I guess it even wakes the man over the road up for his early morning shift. Doesn't wake my Other Half up until about an hour has passed with him pressing the button though, unless I get real made and just give him a hefty kick out of bed!
My prob with having a drink before bedtime is that I don't have as restful a sleep. I think since I drink at very infrequent intervals, I am more susceptible to the REM disrupting effects of the alcohol.
Well mine just hits the snooze! But this morning I never heard it! And he said he hit it 5-6 times cause he didn't want to go to work! Never heard a thing!!!
Woulf you have to stop analyzing everything! That'll keep you awake every time! :D
Hoot - Do your wear ear plugs? We do at times. They are the salvation of a relationship, at times.:-/
And now my typing pace will slow down considerably as Seb has just awakened and is insisting on his bottle :)
Hey - do the grid! Time is flying!
grey wof i take it seb is your child ..i was thinking it was the labrador in the picture
Nope - I usually wake up around then anyway so it doesn't bother me.
Don't worry -- I am -- down to 35 to go -- going for the 2nd letter list now ;)
Wolfie, love. Hoot and myself probably know more about alcohol and earplugs than you. That might be bad of us, but forgive us, please.(((HUG)))
the trouble with wine is that in west australia we have some fabulous wines and i love it with my dinner
sandy -- my icon is just a neat pic that my mom (hootowl) sent me weeks ago
That list was actually up at 12:25am! Very easy grid except for a couple of fakirs!
Sandy - Aussie wine is delicious and lethal. I try to avoid it!
Wrong, wrong word!
Hoot - who's wrong wording?
It may have been up, but I wasn't! ;)
Jac - he knows exactly what I do! We have always been honest with each other. Mom + son = friends
Me! Fakir wasn't really what I meant but only thing I could think of was totally non-PC! :D:D:D
Adam + M + S + N! Connect for a minute or 2!
Oh, Hoot! My daughter has spent the whole day taking everything I said 'wrong', too. She was in a naughty mood. LOL.
Well I think you know what I mean anyway - the ha 6 & 7 and maybe the su's!
My ex was that way. Absolutely addicted to making life as unpleasant as possible for me. If it ended after one day we might still be together. Nope.
Hoot, I know what you mean about your ex, but I meant that my daughter was taking the 'rude' meanings of anything I said, as in 'mucky'.
Aah - that's easy!
Sorry - easier!
sandyloo -- if you would like to see pics of Seb and one of myself -- here is a link -- http://swmbo.homestead.com/fi les/GreyWoulf/Sebastian.html
brb -- time to change a diaper
un6/27 pleeeeeeeeeeease
hi, all

Un 6/27 - un damaged

No lethal huh?

8 left to go i have given up
Sandy just cut & paste but there will be a space in it that has to be removed first! babble adds it free!
sandy -- there is also a link on bab anon -- go to Meet & Greet -- sub topic -- thank you for your love and support
I must also sign out soon, first to eat, then wash, then sleep, then get up to go out and do the dreaded shopping (or should that be deaded shopping)?
woohoo I am done only took me an hour and a half woohoo
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR SHORTY*~*~*~*~

So long, Jac (*Hug*)
TY TY good nite all
Funny - I took one of those silly tests on Netscape and they said the same about us! Nothing like getting lucky late! :D
G'nite shorty -- sleep well, dream deep
Nite Jac - nite shorty
Switches off computer, peers at newly blank screen, checks all plugs, switches off screen...PLINK! gone
ty i hope i will
This is nothing to do with Jac... some strange woman, after she has signed off, laughs a dirty laugh re Hoo'ts post about finding thing late... Cor, she doesn't half sound like she's enjoying herself!
I AM ENJOYING MY LIFE TREMENDOUSLY THANK YOU!
wow saw some pics! how gorgeous! now i know who seb is and you too greywlf. what a great site this is..im so happy i found it.
sandyloo -- you have just expressed the most common sentiment of the majority of new players -- glad to meet you ;D (*Hug*)
aaww ty- i am not new to computor game addiction tho i have been playing tangleword for a long time but this site is great because the pace is slowed down and is not so competitive except with yourself of course
So sandy -- why give up with 8 to go then? Just ask and we will help as best we can :) I have 11 left to go myself
ME, TOO, HOOT! Now can we quit shouting, 'cos it's giving me a headache. The only sure-fire cure for a headache is an or6/24.
GW, maybe you can play with it this weekend.
Sandyloo I found out about that game from someone else on here! It's fine if you play by yourself but I found I can't compete with people who type fast! Fun though.
Help with the 7's, please -- both of them :)
You bad jac!
ha7/40 - plural of the ha 6 before it.
Actually I guess I am too...I got it
fe6 - felt hat, worn by males. Can be battered into many shapes, since it's felt.
I promise, Angel -- they have had me running around at work this week -- the past two days I have had to drive -- in a company vehicle -- to an offsite service job and it was and hour and a half each way -- Thankfully I don't have to go tomorrow during the bad weather we are supposed to be getting :D
Lol, Hoot.
su 7 - add sometime vowel
just please be careful, GW. I think, once you begin using the page, you will find it helpful.
Me too!
victim of my own efficiency again! *smack* I need the 6's the 7's build off of as well
su is what makes rotten egg smell
Ha is ha + if you get flustered you are in a ****er

Hoot, me dear, I have to go now. Just make your son see the word, whether spelled with an 'f' in the middle or a 'ph'. Yelllowy chemical compound, smells like rotten egs an volcanoes....

Sandy everytime I try I get a line of letters! I am not a touch typer. But I do love Boggle so I try!
Hi Angel - don't believe her - jac will return!:D
I've seen it both ways jac - think this is the USA way. Hey I figure out the Brit way!
hoot its like everything practice makes perfect and the secret is to totally chill out about your rating when you start it will come when you can play,, another great game is cascade on that site -cascade is really hard until you get the idea and then its great but im the greenest one in cascade
And now I am done! With Seb on my chest as normal -- I will get a pic of it to share --- It has to be adorable ;)
Is that another word game or what?
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR WOULF*~*~*~*~
Sandy I don't worry about the rating. Just like the game.
it is a word game- i dont play anything but word games and another good one is scrabble at games.com where they also play boggle but the boggle site is not very good
but this site has a lot more to it than the game as im discovering everytime i come on and that makes it very appealing
Hey hoot -- in my wanderings through the web I found this one for you ---- http://www.eastoftheweb. com/cgi-bin/top_scores.pl?game =cryptoquote I haven't tryed it yet myself -- but I figured you would like it anyway
I bought a Scrabble disc at Walgreens (I think...). Works fine. Not into competing so fine for me.
can anyone help me with the sh5? it's so unsatisfying to fall one word short....as always, trades are encouraged....
sh5 = s + ha4/6 (not soft)
sh5- a piece or fragment
sh 5 - when you break a pane of glass the pieces are sh***s
never mind...found it....Done and Done
Hi lshult -- how have you been?
thanks though
i'm good. Babblling plenty, but often I pop in and out so don't always chat. Finished this grid earl, so I thought I'd drop by to hang for 10 minutes.
how are you doing GW
Good to hear -- I haven't had as much to Babble lately since I started my new job -- just wanted to check in with you :)
Otherwise, doing well -- just tired -- new son and new job with early start hours add up to not much sleep for Dad ;D
sleepless nights are part of the package and well worth it. Got two sons myself.
Woulf - gotta go. BF woke up and can't get back to sleep. Since he has to be up by 5 at the very latest I am taking him to bed! Maybe back after the flip! Night
How old, lshult? And speaking of my son -- I have to go now -- need to administer his meds -- he has a brush with RSV (respiratory virus) last week and is still on nebuliser treatments At this point they are more precautionary than mandatory, but they gotta be done
So long, hoot!! See you soon (*Hug*)

Hi everyone. Is there anyone who would be willing to give me a clue to ha 6/27. I know that the 7 must be a plural of the 6.
Sorry. Just saw the clues. No need to repeat them. Thanks.
