Hi Mr P, I am in your neck of the woods now.. well, sort of, in Aus anyway, escaped from the -5 temps in uk
mummy... where are you at?
helen...are stats up for second word?
mrp, i haven't looked yet, don't want to cave in too early, lol
I like not having the stats for a while... makes it more of a real test... but I'm always happy when they appear later..
I have them if you want them... just looked, BJ hasn't posted them yet
mrp - how does yoir husband do that?
Morning dear gang :)
Hi MrP, in your rival city, the living city, Melbourne..
howdy sprite!!
sherb... I like them early because I only have a few hours from when I get the puzzle to actually finish it! That is my excuse anyway :))
morning sprite :D ...here's one to get your teeth into...
ren... he is a programmer, he wrote a program... he is a smarty-pants!
Nice, I want one like that today :D Let's see how far I'll get without stats panel today. Just a quick look for the biggies and the total. I fear that that X is pretty useless today. Yesterday's was nicely positioned ;)
that's kool!!! i like him being a smarty pants!!!
mummy, Melbourne is just like the UK for about 6 hours a day! Weather is 4 seasons in one day!!
ren, just bookmark it... he updates it everyday!
(*sprite*) -- just in time -- I am about to go to bed myself -- wanted to be sure you knew that all are well and healthy in the woulf den :)
mrP, what a great way of putting that :D
Yes, MrP, I know, we lived here for 4 years, it's good to come back for a bit of warmth
grey! didn't get a chance to say hi before... HI! ((hug))
I was wondering about that, Woulf! *big hug for you and yours* Glad to have seen you for a moment. Sleep well. Does Seb give you enough quiet to sleep?
hey mrp -- sorry I gotta go, but the eyelids are falling and getting harder ans harder to prop up :) Will be back at some time tomorrow :)
i bookmarked it last week mrp. tell him thanks!!! it;s like having an extra set of keys for your car when you're away from home....8)
A few favorites so far: TA 6/18, yiddishkeit pronunciation of Hebrew for prayer shawl. Wi 5/22, euphemism for penis. WE 5/22, one British boot.
Seb is beginning to sleep in full 2 hr blocks so I can actually get something -- this AM he actually slept for almost a full 3 so things are beginning to look up :D
LOL ren... he is online... will let him know!! Bye Grey... sleep enough! ;)
G'nite to all!! (*Hugs for everyone*) ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzz zzzzzz........
hugs wolfie
Hooray for Seb! *warm night hug for Woulf*
nite GW ((hugs)) :D
306 wheeeeeee!
And you are in the grid for the most part, Atalante :)
Atalante - you sound excited!!!
well, I have to be excited about something today - otherwise it's destined to be a very boring Sunday. husband has new playstation games so I won't see him all day!
LOL! Well, if the big kid is playing, he's behaving... and you have time for you own games ;) I bought Guild Wars yesterday... also very addicting. Such beautiful graphics. My character was walking yesterday and all around her were falling autumnleaves. Incredibly refined scenery.
atalante - my husband has a new antique model auto to build...he's got the dvd playing and his mini tools building the engine....
toys for boys! I think I'm going to take the chance to draw all day long without being whined at that I should be doing something more useful :P
Or just counter with: "More useful like playstation games?"
*snerk* yes!! Except he'd probably turn round completely seriously and tell me PS games are very important and useful
There is actually not one single argument that would go for playstations games and not for drawing. Or babbling. :)
I agree! but it keeps him content and out of trouble :P
reverse psycology...ah gee it's 306 words, i'm not sure i'm going to do this today...."ah...go ahead and at least start it." (smiles to self) ok if you think so....
That's it, Atalante... as long as they are being good, let them play :D LOL renfield... works everytime, right?
I wonder if elderly people would enjoy some of these dvd's and play station games...
yes - 8)
can I show off a bit? can I? please please? the results of yesterday's hard labour - http://www.deviantart.com/devi ation/29885635/
Oh yes. Thanks Atalante.
my mum plays playstation stuff when she's down here! and I like playing scrabble on it - its not just boom kapow action games
Actually, I would love it if you showed off a bit more often :D :D Beautiful, Atalante! So harmonic and intriguing!
atlante.... I am at your web and the numbers say not available... what do I click on from your home page??
for once, I'm really really pleased with it and I'll probably spent today playing around with similar ideas
there's probably a space in the url, blaze - babble automatically inserts them *sigh*
I have heaps of wonderful xbox games that are not bloody and crap... I play online with other people in word games, casino, etc... I enjoy all of that! But LicketysplitAUS is an xbox HOG!!
I am at the site page but it says file not found...
I am glad babble puts in spaces now. Remember that nagging creature that used to come along and put in very long lines of jibberish, scrambling the layout of the page? Can't happen anymore now :)
huh - how weird! it's definitely there :(
it's there atalante - you do very wonderful work!
Talking games are we? Well, there is a new one being written by the author of the SIMS. I've watched a 1 hour demo video of the author talking about it and playing it, and I predict it to be the most talked about game in history. Anyone interested search video.google.com for Spore.
nagging creature!! perfect description!!
got it.... wow really good.... thanks for sharing
I'm glad for spaces too - apart for in urls!
lickety: I'll remember that :) I love predictions from experts.
True, in url's it takes a bit more attention. Copy - paste - TAKE OUT THOSE SPACES - enter. LOL ;)
Atalante - it's beautiful, and I hope you win :D
Thanks Sprite. It takes me a fair bit to get excited about a game, but Spore encapsulates so many genres and also tackles evolution, social behaviour and everything you do changes the dynamics of it. It's very hard to explain. At the start you are like playing pacman under a microscope and by the end you can be creating planets and exploring galaxies in which other people have designed and/or conquered.
thank you all *blushes* :)
Sounds good, lickety. What kind of game will it be? Only playstation, xbox and such, or PC too?
Mangopore -- I love the sound of that. It's beautiful, Atalante. I like the ways of looking at it -- Maori, Celtic, hammerhead shark, shield, the spirals and knots.... Gorgeous. What was your medium?
Not too sure where it'll be released - sounds like the plan to go onto as much as possible - even handhelds if they can. It's been developed in a way that uses lots of compression and all about rules - so anything you design can be shared very easily cause it's so small.
If it will be released for PC too, I will certainly check it out. And if it is for gameboys, I'll let my son check it out ;) Argh, got to go... taking the kids to aikido. Back in a few hours. Happy hunting all!
Bye Sprite.
later sprite!
Anyways - enough on the topic - Check out Spore at video.google.com from Will Wright. It's very interesting and I bet that you'll be hearing much more about it from May onwards (E3 - big game conference)
later sprite :D
thanks Mab :) I'm really getting into Maori design - its so beautifully organic. And its just ink and pencil (the black and grey)
Wow. You do beautiful work. It already looks like a print. Like one of the commenters, I'm symetrically challenged too! Now I will have to look at Maori art - don't think I ever have. Thanks.
symmetrically challenged is such a good phrase *bounce* and Maori art is wonderful - so fluid and organic and beautiful

*rolls up sleeves...* ...ok, let's see if I can finish this one...
You can, sherb. You will. Even if we have to dreg you ;)
thanks sprite :D ...it's just I need to finish quickly... can't afford to spend all day on it today...
Nope, me neither. Down to 35 now, and I just opened the stats panel to see what I am missing. Do you have the compound S7/48? And the big animals, Wi6/30 and EL5/12? I thought both were related to D4.
Good morning everyone! Nice change from the little ones lately, though I don't think I've ever been able to finish one of these longer ones. Have 150 so far so I think I'm going to pretent that I'm just beginning ....maybe that will do the trick. But first the cat-before he sinks his teeth into my mouse hand in frustratioin.
Lol eva. Cat and mouse, no wonder...
morning eva :D sprite - I'd find it impossible to resist the temptation to look at the stats panel... I need to at least know how many words there are starting with each letter, even if only to know how badly I'm doing...
I always look at the stats panel when I start, to see how many words total and how many biggies. Only then I close it ;)
Right. I'm going to have a go, but don't say "I told you so" when I start moaning about the size of this grid. (I only wanted to try out my icon)
Like thie icon :) And you will do just fine.
good luck, ExWren :D
yipee~~~~~~just finished!!!!!
back from feeding cat disgusting raw glop. Now my mouse hand is safe.
well done judi :D
im bac!!!!
will be here for a bit, if anyone needs help
WOOOOOOOO 306...my!!! good thing I never finish...
Hello...everyone but especially Eva...that's my favourit all time dessert....can I come ova?
Any time tbear! We can share the two - had a hard time choosing between fruit and chocolate.
THIRTY THREE A's...
Eva we could always have chocolate milkshake to wash it down......mmmmMMMMmmmmm
or a cannoli or two to balance the food groups out
can anyone get the stats today?
and I wonder why I'm putting on weigh....kept blaming the winter...it's Babble and Babblers....inactivity and desire.....how about that for a good balance.....
bex - didn't you get mrp's list earlier?
watching the food channel doesn't help either.
yes but it confuses me i like the one that says the first and second letter and how many there is of each
hmmm... but desire often leads to activity...
Give up.....I'm gunna get fat and pretend to be happy...even when I have to roll off the couch....Eva be a love and pass the fruit tart...oooo and the cream...thankyou
sherb....yea but!!!!!! in this house that's the desire to open the fridge...
A - 33 D - 24 E - 13 I - 9 L - 41 N - 17 R - 34 S - 46 T - 27 U - 9 W - 49 X - 2 Y - 2 I think that's it... :D
big slice or little? (Why do I bother to ask?. Let's just pick it up in both hands)
and see who eats fastest.......remember that I'm a bear
tbear-sheath those claws please
or shall I just set it out on a rock for you? Our bears will be waking up soon. Makes me sad because I'll have to take the bird feeders down until next winter.
thanks sherb!!!!!
Eva, your saying that reminds me...when i had my girls small my good friend neil and I used to take it in turns doing dinner or pud onece a week ...wwll some of these puds were huge and we'd start by having a regular slice and then another until the day we looked at eachother and just cut it down the middle...mind you we were both stick insects at the time and could get away with it
Eva...I'm a nice bear....claws sheathed
Yes I often wonder why we pretend-those little slivers that always end up shaving the whole thing down to nil. I was never a stick....and now have to be incrediibly careful about blood sugar levels so as not to become diabetic. But very dark chocolate is my salvation. And I do a lot of baking for our little community store. That way I get the pleasure of baking, but immediately get it out of the house.
time I was elsewhere... later all :D
bye sherb
ciao Sherb....
Crazy grid - everything I try seems to be a word
does anyone have a clue for that one little n up top?
eva...its ny+ sounds like the islamic god
Thanks rolin!
thx rolin....
I'm a lost soul without the second letter list :(
oooof. 96 left to go and things are moving like treacle.

Ah tbear, that is an adorable clue. :)
mr president posted a list earlier in the log http://www.writely.com/view.as px?docid=bccpk6gfhxhw4
You're welcome fit...it,and the lung!!! made me laugh a lot....cats are looking at me astonished

www.writely.com/view.as px?docid=bccpk6gfhxhw4 put all of this in the address
I put in the whole wording and got a message saying this page can't be viewed. :(
lalobstah.... I started!! Go for gold
306 words
how perfect... the original 'forbidden planet' with robbie the robot..is on now..yeah!!..lol
fit1 - you must take out any spaces in the address then it is OK
thanks! with 2 x words, i'm ready to give up. i start at the bottom of the alphabet.
Hello everyone. Fit1 - remove the space from between the s & p for the stats list to work.
Hey jacs :)
Thx guys. I got it now. Whew, what a relief
Hi TBear. You Knickerbocker Glory looks nice. My icon is the Bailey's Cheesecake that Hazel made for her guests last weekend. Well, it's one I made, but I expect hers looked the same. LOL.
I have posted the word list on bab anon
Jacs...the only problem with your icon is that it was probably finished last weekend as well.......doh
LOL, TBear. Well, I have home-made Cadbury's Cream Egg muffins, Jam Doughnut muffins and Jam & Coconut muffins you could try...
P>>>L>>>E>>>A>>>S>>>E stop doing this too me,playing Babble has now become synonomous with a watering mouth
LOL. Don't get drool on your keyboard.
any clues for the al6/24 pls?
Good morning all, what does the 10 start with?
It's the cat sitting across me who's getting slobbered on
un 10/84
thanks, spellit, is it a plural - clue please
Found the u/10 by myself, it is not a plural
any help on the last al5/10?
un9/66....looking at our icons...this shouldn't be a problem today
TBear - Thanks. Your clue gave me 3 words.:-)
tbear... i didnt get that clue..another little hint pls?
You're welcome jacs...just pass me one of the Creme Egg Muffins
TBear - Of course, since we haven't ea5/10 them all. (Rolin - that's a clue!)
un 10-still need help. I just can't see it
TBear - I invented the Cream Egg muffin on Friday. I should've copyrighted the recipe since my daughter works for an Australian muffin chain and told her boss about it yesterday. Seems he's going to try them out for the shop!
Something I never am where food is concerned...
lbetterman - use the ea5/10 I mentioned.
(If you had a 10-course meal you would not have un10!)
Right Jacs...before we scoff them all....photograph one with todays newspaper and 'voila' you can prove you got there first.......rubs fingernails on lapel (of PJs)
Good idea!
tks so much
It's no good all this virtual food...I'm popping to the shop to get 8 creme eggs and a newspaper (not to steal your plan tho....he he he he) Only kidding...don't have the bl****y recipe anyway...Shucks I'll never be rich!!!!
LOL.
How's everyone doing? I've found 196 words without using the stats list, so far.
hey jacs...whadda bout Mini EggMuffins the outer shell would stay but the choc inside would melt......go on you can have my idea, think of it as an Easter pressie...they'd probably sink but WHO cares
Ooh Jacula-san, I am creep up on you, 52 over here...warai :)
Strangely enough, the first word I saw in the grid was a food - st4/8. Just the thing for this cold weather.
TBear - Too late! The mini-egg muffins already exist. You can do them with fruit & spice as 'Simnel' muffins for Easter.
Hi LEMONed. I don't think we've spoken before but I have read you on the log. 'Warai' means, 'LOL', yes?
pretty much, hai :) And I am please to meet you, then :)
Pleased to meet you, too, LEMONed.:-)
Jacula...be carefu,I think he's only after 'our' muffins
did you like the way I claimed your muffins....mutual muffins lol
TBear - that's okay. They only take 30-40 mins to make from start to finish.
Mutual Muffins. LOL!
*bows* do you know Miya-chan? :)
any help on the last al5/10? pls and ty
Don't have enough of the a's yet to know if I have the al's that have been asked for. I'll know better when I've checked my found words against the stats list, which I'll do when I get to about 250 words. (Got 202 at the moment.)
LEMONed - Do you mean MiyaviFan? If so, yes.
LEMONed we sure do....she our lovely girl..
Jacula -- I have all the a's, well, all but that last al5/10 -- guess I had better move on if I am gonna get through the grid today.
Great! I have her email...I am teach her Japanese, she is teach me English...she picks it up fast :)
LEMONed - That sounds like a good arrangement. PBR - I'll let you know when I find it.
Anyone got a clue for the il 6?

HI all - who has the word list?????
*domo sumimasen* hai, anata wa tadashi :)
Look back in the log fairie - it's there a couple of times, but remember to take out the spaces
Hi Faerie. The list's in BabAnon now, I believe. Not BJ's list, MrP's.

Aa, no, we decide to let the school deal with it :) Besides, it get me out of piano practise...^^;
Miyavi-LOL-um I too have a rude strick in me. But I try to keep the mean rudy nasty Faerie Kae locked in the closet . lol
Movieman? In what way? The weather's cold but no snow today. I'm sitting Babbling, my son's upstairs on his computer, daughter's out at work, other half & his daughter are watching 'The Forbidden Planet' on tv.
Lemon-glad to hear your arm is doing better. phone brb

Anyone care to clue me up re: the x's......? I'm never any good at finding those.....
warai, you are welcome, I think that was right...I was not sure whether for Taiyou you say 'sun'. Taiyou no Ao...weird title, Blue of the Sun :)
I wish I could, Movieman-san, but no matter how hard I try, Xylem is just not in there :/
Very weird, you can kinda see what he means though...Thanks so much for doing that interview, though! I was laughing at Shinya's answers, I guess he really is that shy. Only two more years!!!

Anyone care to clue me re: the 8's, 9's & the 10...... Those long words elude me every time......
I all ready know too much - far too much - about you and your apparent facial hair fetish :) Is Kaoru the one now? XD "Even if my throat gets torn into pieces, even if I get a polyp (?!) For you, for you, I will go on shouting all my life. That's what I have decided just now. Yes, I have decided."
il6/18 - the most sick.
cheers jac..
polyp?! you're just making it up now, I swear :)
il6 - body of land, surrounded by water. And the people that live there

movieman You're welcome
yay! a bigger puzzle!
but un-yay, i just missed lemon.
chocolate mousse, in case anyone wants to know
morning all I knew we would get a killer grid today with all the small ones lately,
Chocolate mousse, Hursh..... I prefer a nice ice cream sundae..... But then, ice cream is nice any day of the week.......LOL
hey my icon didn't change and I put choc cheesecake in there,
there is NOTHING better in the world than chocolate mousse, i say firmly.
there it goes
I have 144 more words to find...... Eww, gross........LOL
Here's a gift before I leave. A list of words that all have the sometimes vowel to end them: al5/14 - to set fears to rest. al4/6 - a friendly associate, often against a common enemy. da5/16 - linger. 'Don't dilly da*** on the way,' as the old song goes. de5/16 - One vowel different to the above. Rhymes with another word for 'stomach' & sounds like a sandwich shop or an Indian city. de4/7 - to declare untrue. ne5/14 - a disparaging term for an effeminate man. Or , if you are not going to do something, you might say, 'Not on your Ne***!' re6/24 - truly. re6/27 - to declare untrue again. re5/16 - displaying scarlet or crimson. si5/14 - daft or stupid. See next post for more.
st7/36 - not fresh (adverb form) sw6/36 - spiralled, whorled or twisted. ta5/14 - add up. te5/14 - you may watch this. tw6/36 - twisted or winding. Happy hunting! See you all later.x
Here's another clue for a word ending in the "sometines vowel"...... wa5/22 - a daft or stupid person.....
any clue for the ea 5/10 please?
Ea5/10 consumed
Thanks - I had it and didn't see it!
afternoon babblers!! im sensing that todays theme is desserts of some sort?
right, evanadine - your favorite dessert
Hi Evan - Hi everyone..... :) I'm back>>>>>>>>>
I'm serving Ice Cream cake (*^_^*)
looks pretty good faerie!!!
Thanks Hurshy so does your Sundae....yummmmmy
After seeing all these desserts I know I will be baking this afternoon. Brownies with Walnuts...
it's chocolate mousse, actually
WOW-that's even better.....
hear that, movieman????
ok, this is bad. i need some chocolate. i'm at 200 words, so i think a quick grab of candy is permissible
dunno if its my FAVORITE but i am a big fan of my dads trifle. :D
Go for it Hurshy - I'm having a M&M's right now...lol
What about my ABSOLUTELY SCRUMPTIOUS ice cream sundae, then.........?
Evan-Trifles sound gooooooooddddddd.
i usually go for the fruity desserts. :)
Faerie - just as long as she doesn't put mince in it, like Monica did in "Friends".......LOL
heh, no, i do know how to make a proper trifle. ;)
a couple weeks ago i had some white chocolate cheescake with a chocolate crumb crust topped with orange-strawberry sauce and real whipped cream. you could not believe how good it was.
My very favorite in the whole world is Coconut Cake....or maybe German Chocolate Cake or maybe, no for sure it is my sister's Chocolate Pie......
sounds heavenly hurshy!
I really shouldn't be babbling today.......I'm supposed to be on a diet........LOL
Movieman-lol-that was a good episode.......No mince Evan!!
what?? redeal is so a word. you accidentally see someone's card as you're dealing, so you have to redeal. right?
was a good episode... but still not as good as "PIVOT!!"
lol, i love them both. and the one with chandler in the pink bunny suit.
"no bunny at all! always no bunny at all!"
down to 148 words gonna take a break for awhile, happy babbling all
I like Ursula!!!!!!!
Sheryl bye:)
but the trifle one was so good because it wasn't just that. it also had the stuff where the gellers find out all ross and monica's secrets, and phoebe dreaming about jack, and then jacques cousteau, and then that speech to chandler about sticking with ross through the drug problem and what a wonderful person he is...
Wow...something I know a little about...subtitled episodes of 'Friends' started me off learning English :)
how can you like ursula?
lemon, you're back!
so it would seem! konnichiwa, Hurshy-sensei, good afternoon! :)
Hursh - because she looks a little bit like Phoebe, no wait a minute, she looks EXACTLY like Phoebe......LOL
konnichiwa, lemon (but it's not afternoon here yet :)
but movieman, she's so... naughty.
Aa...it is that time difference again! Good morning :)
Ursula-she is such a tramp....lol.....and remember the movies that Phoebe was supose to be staring in ????
What is the bartenders name?
thanks, lemon. :) how are you? didn't see you yesterday.
bartender? you mean gunther? but it's a coffeeshop, not a bar...
the bartender's name is Gunther
I am fine, thank you! hai, I was out with friends yesterday...exhausted today, of course ^^ How are you?
Gunther-yes thank you...and you are correct Hurshy it is a coffee house not a bar...
you can't get me with trick questions... if a rooster lays an egg exactly on top of a roof that is slanted equally on both sides, which side will it roll off?
i'm fine, thanks lemon.
Macuser-Hi, how's it going today?
It's a miracle!
Hursh - Roosters don't lay eggs, they're male......
senturalu pekku...is it call Central Perk? There is no way to write that in Japanese...no matter how hard you try! The subtitling always said senturalu pekku :)
Spellit-what?
Hi faeriekae! :0 Just trying to get throught this grid! How are you?
You have really weird poultry in the US Hurshy! And I've finished - brutal today
and see, movieman cannot be tricked either
yes lemon, central perk. do you understand the pun?
Congrats *%*%*%*%* Very well done Spellit..
pun? *wakes up* er...I missed it, I think...where? ^^;
Off to an Aled Jones concert now - so bye all
Congrats, spellit!! :)
Have a good time, Spellit-san :)
Macuser-doing good. Probably won't finish today I have lots going on this afternoon/evening. But I'm giving it my best shot right now.
Hursh - that's like another riddle I know....... If a plane carrying 200 passengers crashes on the border between the US and Canada, where would the survivors be buried......?
Macuser-san, your icon is beautiful :)
new york city, where they live, has a large park called central park, and perk is what you do to make coffee (it's actually short for percolate)
movieman - all these were on the cosby show, i think. :) you don't bury the survivors. do you recall the one about the car accident and the doctor?
Really?! I would never have got that in a million years...how did you figure that out?!
the survivors wouldnt be buried! they survived! *rimtap*
well... i'm an american
Woooh, everyone's a smartass today......LOL
Go for it, faeriekae! Thank you LEMONed :)
*yawns* back. too many words to go ...
I'll leave you with an old chestnut - How far can you go into a wood?
so tom cruise is also your favorite dessert, eh, atalante? can't really say i blame you...
halfway! then you're going out again.
the car one is something like: Mike and his father were in a car accident and rushed to the hospital. When the ambulance arrived at the ER, the surgeon said "I can't operate on this man, he's my son." How is this possible?
Evan-LOL looks like you are serving Punch Bowl Cake I might say I make a pretty darn good punch bowl cake myself.....
sounds about right LOL! *whizzes off to find dessert icon* Can I have Hayden Christensen?
It's his Mum
Greetings, all... how goes it today?
Evan - the surgeon was the boy's mother......
if you want, atalante - but i don't think he's as good a choice as what you've already got.
Evanadine-san, would it be his mother?
never heard it called "punch bowl cake" before...heh
ok, so we are all up on our old riddles. good to know. :)
yup, it was his mother
ok, no Hayden today *sob* instead lemon meringue pie - but but but - it has to be *South African* lemon meringue pie
Evan-yes, I made on 2wks ago for a party my ex-sister in-law was giving. I didn't attend but she did ask if I would make the cake for her..We are still good friends.
mmm, looks good atalante
ive just always heard it called a Trifle
Has anyone had fruit pie....Cherry pie filling, strawberries, kiwi, mandran oranges, bananas, and whipped cream.....
I know a riddle...but I do not know the answer :/
what is it lemoned?
tell us, lemon, maybe we can help you out
Hi guys! : )
Okay...I have to think about how to translate this! There is an irregular shaped cage, which must be divided into two equal halves to put a lion and a tiger into each respectively. How is it possible?
Hi Lola ((((x))))
ooooh Lola! I was just thinking that you'd understand the blisssfulness of SA lemon meringue pie (if you like lemons and meringues and pies!)
lemon, that doesn't sound like much of a riddle... i mean, why should that be difficult to do?
konnichiwa, good afternoon Lola100-san :)
Hi faerie! (((((x))))) Thanks, I needed that.... had a lousy week : / Hi lemoned : ) Hey atalante! Mmmmm, you mean the kind made with condensed milk? Yummy! : )
but Hurshy-sensei, I could not figure it out...if the cage is irregular...Aa, it is probably my translation that is the problem :) gomen ^^;
lemon, what's the japanese word, maybe i can look it up on that website?
sounds more like a math problem than a riddle...
yup - the condensed milk version :) I just love love love love it!
anyone else have a burning desire to put in "lady"?
Lola-sorry to hear that hon. How about a dash of my special faerie dust* sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle* t here that should make you feel better (*^_^*)
yeah, that was my thought, evanadine. i mean, you could always divide horizontally so one is above the other, that would be the easiest mathematically. otherwise, you can do it using calculus.
atalante, funny but I've actually been thinking about making it. Don't know which biscuits to use for the base though.... do you know which Uk biccies are like Tennis biscuits?? : )
brb
er...oh :) In that case, maybe it is not my translation...just my bad maths ability :/
but if it was told to you as a riddle... maybe it is something in the translation...
my mother always uses a mix of rich tea and digestive biscuits for it, but I think you could use either - digestive for a sweeter base, rich tea for a less sweet one
Aaah, hadn't thought of using two types of biscuits! I'll give that a try next week..... shall I post you a slice?? : )
hm...possibly...Aa, well, I am probably missing something out ^^; Warai, I am no good at this! :)
mmmmmmmmmmmm now I'm thinking about making some myself!
warai, it's ok lemon
It's much too dangerous to be here today.....will end up in a diabetic coma through virtual over______
I wish I could make some koeksisters as well, but those are far beyond my culinary abilities
you can estop someone, it's a legal term, right? so why can't you e +st5 them in the meantime?
Good day, all. Sticky toffee pudding for lunch today?
atalante, those are my sister's favourites and I was thinking of surprising her with some on her birthday this year. I used to help my gran make them when I was a kid. They are more schleppy than difficult : )
what are koeksisters?
maybe this wasn't such a good theme suggestion after all. i'm starting to feel sick just looking at all this rich food. :)
Hi judi! : )
maybe one day if I'm feeling brave I'll have a go! and they are intensely sweet syrupy batter things. LOL - Lola - a better explanation please!
Hey guys, how's it going? Need a stomach pump yet?
*looks forlorn* i'm glad it's a bigger puzzle but i've only greyed out 3 boxes so far... 84 words to go and very slow at this point. what about you atalante?
sound a bit like sopapillas?
112 words to go, hurshy, but 4 boxes greyed out!!
sopapillas are fried dough, right? i LOVE fried dough. it's the only thing as good as chocolate mousse.
well i'm not counting the two with 0...
koeksisters are a strips of plaited dough, fried in oil and then plunged into cold syrup. If they are well made the absorb the syrup (flavoured with lemon and ginger) staying crisp on the outside and becoming juicy on the inside. Refresh to see them : )
fried dough usually drizzled with honey syrup and powdered sugar
Just realized today's puzzle is 306 words. Arrrg. We're going to need all of this sugar to get us through.
yum yum yum! now I want some of those as well *sigh*
i feel pathetic that i can't get that one piddly N in the top left... but don't tell me yet...
I could eat koeksisters all day. And then be very very sick
hurshy, that top N is a south african antelope....good luck! : D
south african antelope! argh.
wow, those are gorgeous! Sort of like crullers. Haven't had one of those in about 40 years. Then, on a much crasser leve, there are the good old Hostess chocolate covered doughnuts.
Just refreshed my icon....... Now, how could anyone say "no" to a banana split....? *sings* Tra-la-la , tra-la-la-la, Tra-la-la, tra-la-la-la........
Thankfully I need to go now - take a shower and go do some painting. On the run from The Sugar That Ate Vermont.
what do you know, wikipedia was right for once. ok, that's one more grey box.
Hi movieman! : )
I'll be back in a short while - dawg walking time - yay for the beach!
Hursh - I just used Wikipedia for that South African antelope as well........
ok, i'm going to start a-begging. i have an x 5, some help with the other?
Greetings, Lola...... How goes it.........?
atalante, hope it's warmer where you are! : /
Hursh - here's a clue: Any of three flammable isomeric hydrocarbons, C6H4(CH3)2, obtained from wood and coal tar.
Not too bad movieman, and with you?
:O
Prettyy good, Lola........ Am down to 113 words now.......
i think that's the one i have, movieman
No, Hursh, my def. was for the xy6/39.....
hmm, then google is steering me wrong
I had that problem too, Hursh......
ok, got it. now, about the Y. i have a 4. what's the other?
Hursh - which y4 do you have......
The other y is a 4 as well........
rhymes with a guy with no hair - but if the other is also a 4, i'll just keep monkeying
one y4 is a currency, the other...I do not know, but like having no hair, change the first letter :)
there's another grey box!
I need a warm-up break... 121 to go... I'll be back to tackle the ta's after some hot chocolate!
Included the ones with no words coming from them, I have 8 boxed greyed out.........
ok, i just need ONE more little N, coming off the left box, middle row. i have 2 6's and 2 7's... any wild guesses as to what i would overlook, or should i give a more complete list of what i have?
same here, movieman
Hursh - I have two 6's & two 7's coming from that n as well, and also a 4.......
I'm not sure how it allocates words to letters. If you have the hospital related N6/7 combo do you have the first four letters as a seperate word?
movieman - a geek
yes, tigereye
Hursh- make that two 4's coming from that n......
Aa, I must go...thank you for your help with my so-called 'riddle' :/
and the allocation system is thus: it goes through each row and the first instance of a letter that a word can be formed on is the one it counts towards.
Hursh - just got that one........
so we both have 6 of those 7....
Hi Lemon, bye Lemon...
Hi Hurshy and movieman!
hi chic bye lemon
did my explanation make sense, tigereye?
Yep, Hursh....... But we may have different ones....... My n's coming off the one on the middle row are: ne4/5, ne4/5, ne6/21, ne6/21, ne7/32 & ne7/32......
Greetings, chic..........
Yeah it did thanks :)
yeah, i think we have the same ones, chic. is one of your sixes "one who ne4's"?
not chic! movieman. excusez moi, por favor.
it was bc you just said hi to chic...
Hursh, you're forgiven!!!! And yes it is.....
yes, we have all the same ones. last one must be a weirdo.
LEMONed is strangely familiar
I've just got it. Its and Na5/12
whaddya mean, peachykeen? (tee hee)
thanks tigereye! why would one try that after it wouldn't take it without the last letter? but yay!
ok, who wants to work on i's with me?
I think you know what I mean hurshy, how long before Miyavi fan turns up?
Thanx, tigereye....... I just got it too, but I had to monkeytype for it.....
I tried it with an s at the end a few times before i got ther i think.. silly word
well they have become good friends already :)
Ooh, I do, Hursh.... I'm only missing two of them........
Oh i don't doubt it! ; )
same here, movieman. :) we are in sync today. i have 3 il 4's and 4 is' all to do with land surrounded by water
see you later... I have things to do in the real world :-)
:O
*Movieman checks his i list*
I have an il6 hurshy, btu I'm missing two of your 4's
two of my fours have to do with sickness
hurshy, all I'm saying is that it's entirely possible to log on twice with different usernames
what does ne(number)/(number) meaN????
the other is mostly vowels and is the name of the deltan woman in star trek: the motion picture...
My three year old has just asked me if she could have 'spoiled' eggs for dinner...lol! : D
il6 is most ill
lol peachy, don't be silly, lemon is a boy, and is from japan, and...
Okay, I have two il4/4's, an il6/18, and all my is's are to do with la4/5 surrounded by water....
Clairemcg Ne are the first two letters, the first number is how many letters in teh word and the second number the points value of that word
figured that, tiger. that just leaves one.
oops on using a word before. movieman - il 4/6
oh that makes sense.. ta! :)
so, if i am reading this right, tiger, movieman, and i all have the same 8 i's at this point, and no clue about the last one.
hurshy, yes, and miyavi is 14 years old!!! yeah right.
Thanx Hursh, I'm just missing one i now as well........ This is getting spooky and weird........ Call Mulder and Scully........
mac-n-cheese........MMMMMMMMMM MMMMMMMMMM
I just monkeytyped it. il5/10 builds on first 4/4
Hi all, Lola, cute child!
peachykeen, you should change your name to conspiracytheorist
Hi, Boys.......
tiger wins every time!
Hi boysaway! : )
so, how do u know what the maximum score is today??
ok, now, E's!
I wish... I still need another 126 words
anyone who has finished can tell you that
okay, has anybody finished yet then???
well, i only need 77, so perhaps i can return some favors, tigereye
That's my i's done as well.........
yes, claire, but i don't know if they're still around
we know there are 306 words, that's all that really matters
I'm down to 108 now........
I only have 6e's at the moment
ok, i have one of the 2 E's from the 4th row left, one who finishes...what's the other?
Hursh - I have 10 e's at the moment..........
Hursh - that's the one I have......
:) i have 11...but close enough
i have all 5 in the bottom row, do you?
Hursh - no, I still need 2 more from the e next to the r.......
hurshy, best I could do with the username letter allowance!
lol
Cons-ROFL ;
so you have... ea4? ea5 is related...
no, wait, you have ea5, the 4 can come off the upper one
Ooo, conspiracytheory, you sound just like peachykeen! Have you met her yet?? ; )
you need a 5 and a 6 - to make joyful
That's correct, Hursh, I have the ea5.......
Thanx, Hursh......
Lola, funny you should ask.....
got the ea's the last one ends in x
so what do i need off the upper E? i have two el4's, et4, el5, and ea4
Still 127 to find but must go & feed family!! Hope to be back later
ea+vowel+x
ok, that takes care of that left one (since when is french allowed?) but i still need one off the third row
I think I have two El5's from it
Hi Conspiracytheory, pleased to met you
I'm back!
Hi there Peachy
LOL!!! : D
tiger, i have not younger
sorry, maybe that was too much of a clue...won't do that again. Might get my hand smacked.
good grief - are we going to have to call in someone to treat multiple personality disorder here?
There's an antelope 5/12 too
not more antelopes!
faerie, thanks for the sprinkle dust earlier : )
your welcome Lola:)
Conspiracy/Peachy - interesting theory, but Miyavi's English teacher also plays Babble - under the name of Rolin - or maybe she's also another alias? In any case, I think Miyavi has better things to do these days than pretend to be a Japanese boy... I am, however, fascinated by how good LEMONed's English is.
I'm about to have a bath though...will it wash off?? Can I have more when I get back if it does?? : )
Lola-I'll give you another sprinkle when you get back lol but it should last. *~*~*~*~*
whew, done with E's
hurshy, did you find all your e's?
crossing transmissions... :)
nevermind, lol
Thanks faerie! I'll be back later...bye! : )
ok, someone else pick the next letter to work on
Both Miya & Lemon are very impressive young people... I don't know of any English-speaking-born teens who can speak a second language so well...
Hursh - howsabout the u.......?
ok, i only have 4
bye Lola
Heck, I don't know many Americans who speak English so well ;)
a 5, and two 8's and a 9 built off it
I have 5 u's
I agree with Peachy. One day Miyavi messed up and typed a message as herself using LemonEd's screen name. Had some convenient excuse about how he was having problems with chat log and she signed in as him to fix it for him. But that sealed the deal for me. Just too many similarities.
ooh, just found another 8 and 9
sherb, Jera, mark my words. All will be revealed I'm sure.
I have a 5, two 8's, a 9 and the 10
I have 5 u's....... un5/14, un8/50, un10/84, un9/66 & un8/60.......
I have exactly what movieman just said
un 5 14 un 8 50 un 9 66 un 8 60 un 8 50 un 9 66
Hursh - so you have 6 u's now........
I have all the U's does someone need help? I am working backwards today...
ok, got the 10 (duh)
Hey resipsa, I'm not the only conspiracy theorist, I noticed that too, however, each to their own. Doesn't cause anyone any harm and it's amusing. Take note hurshy-san, waria!
Peachy - even if you're right, it would be a harmless deception... and who's to say any of us is who we claim to be? :D
well, i'd rather trust people. jera - see my list? but i have the 10 now too. what am i missing?
I just got the other 8/9 combo
Hursh - what are your other un 8 & 9........
also - jera - i keep getting to the 22000's on eight1 and then running out of time - only a few thousand more and i could make top 20, but i can't seem to get there!!!!!
You are missing the un4/6... lose a vowel
I have 8 un'a, not six
think of renting an apartment that you rent yourself to someone else, and change sub to a synonym prefix...
I don't want to talk with you about eight1... my best score is 10 thou- something...
jera - thanks. but i'm missing one other.
correction: I have 8 un's not una's
*blush* oh, sorry jera
There are 9 U's un 4/ 6 un 5/ 14 un 5/ 14 un 8/ 50 un 10/ 84 un 9/ 66 un 8/ 60 un 8/ 50 un 9/ 66
got it got it!!! double the vowel!
movieman - have you got them all now too?
Certainly have, Hursh.........
ok, this is so fun, what next?
or should we just use the list... ?
We could use the list, Hursh...... The remaining tiles HAVE got a heck of a lot of words coming from them........
i have 40 of the 46 S's
Hursh - I have 32 s's.......
sigh. i guess we ought to use the list rather than making long posts here.
hi all ... ready for one of Cathy's famous toll house cookies to help refuel for this workout we're getting here today?
does anyone have the il6/18??
I still need 16 r's, 24 l's, 14 s's, 12 w's, 21 a's, 5 t's & 9 d's.....

anyone have ad's?
Sorry, Hursh......
has anyone got a clue for the second le5/10 pls?
phugh-got the un's (finally)
ad6/27 = ad+vowel+1st 3 letters of what they used to call stockings and then pl for 7.
ad's = a + sounds like a state of "say it ain't so" (and it's plural) :)
thanks cathy and fmitch
Cath-ty
fmitch - thats still what i call them!!! I thought "stockings" was the old word
yw -- glad I could help
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhh there are too many al's.
LOL caelle I don't know, am confued!
is no one into the le's yet?
nylons, stockings, pantyhose, whatever...
rolin - i have only one le 5/10 - propped oneself up against something
or i am - that would be nothing new
company. later
hurshy - we will have to send the fish over to you before too long LOL. Oh and you missed tights off the list too.
rolin -- the 2nd le -- think of eyeglasses, but stick an extra vowel in there to make it a 5 letter word
yeah hurshy..thats the first one...im going slightly bonkers looking for the second.. "im a little teapot.................."
ok, help with the last two al's, and also the last 6/18 before that
hurshy...the al6...total+the first 3 letters of a large grey animal
hursh -- I'm struggling with those al's right now so not finished yet
thank you kindly, rolin
well the last two pretty much have to have a y in them SOMEwhere
and the others is total+a coupla letters from those stockings then (pl)
see, told you they had a y
thanks again, rolin!
lol
done with A's!!! how are you doing, movieman?
found it cathy....ty.ty..
How are there that many Al words?
tigereye - because a lot of them are completely weird
Guess I'll keep monkey-typing away then
Hursh - I still need 91 more words.......
plug away, movieman, plug away. 45 for me
done with D's!
I finished the A's too. YEAAAAAAAAAH

back from dog walking, now to try and finish!
done with L's!
but now it's time for *scary music* the re's! aaaaahhhhh
hursh -- they're really not that bad today. At least there are more known words than there were in those A's
oh sure, spoil my drama
but yeah, i had most of 'em already anyway.
Sorry about that -- I was trying to make you feel better, but guess I failed miserably :( I've got 9 D's to go and I'm finished *** heart pounding ***
i'm just playin', cathy :)

Make st5/10 an adjetive
pbr - double consonant, then double vowel
you mean adverb, jera dear :)
de7?
can i get a clue for the last al 6/18, please?
hurshy -- ty -- I just couldn't find that -- guess I didn't have enough coffee at the time!!
al6/18 plural of the one above it.
the second de7 is a pl, and the first de7 appears to sound exactly like the de7 of which the second de7 is a plural
Last Al6/18 take the Al 5 before it and add an l between the double vowel
Ok, lunch is long overdue, so I'm off. hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend !!!
ok, the third time it says de7 in my clue it is supposed to say de6
you too, cathy!!! thanks for the cheering :)
that's not the 3rd al 6/18...
Time for another warm-up break... tea this time, I think... back for the final fifty later (I hope!)!
i neeed a clue for al 5/10 between al5,14 and al6,18
Last Al6/18 take the Al 5 before it and add an l between the double vowel Rolin: Reverse this clue for the 5/10
i'm still missing the first al 6/24 ... any hints?
thanx, tigereye, couldn't see it...
al 6/24 - sounds like mr. alda of MASH isn't feeling well
wow, it got really quiet all of a sudden
hi all!
i still don't see it... i'm not the quickest today
caelle - are you thinking about the points?
sorry I am lost cant get al6/24 to work with the sick part
Hi all, I'm back to find my last 30 words : )
al5/24 - al plus vowel plus start of what stockings are made of.
it's just a vague sound-alike, not supposed to be precise...

almost done the al's and need to go have lunch - but before i do... any clues for the 5/10 and 5/14 that come after the 4/4's
the 5/10 is what the top celebs are - like denzel washington, say. the 5/14 - "no voice divine the storm al5ed, no light propitious shon, when snatched from all effectual aid, we perished each alone"
Lola - Could you give a def. for that ta6 please......?
i cant tell you how much i am hating the la's...*sigh*

Thanks, Lola -- pass the mackeral!

Yay Atalante!! I'm about halfway . . . .
cyber, add the the bit between your hand and your arm but without the first letter : )
ren - where do you work?
lola, didn't you give me a clue for the 6 before it?
hirshy - a scientific company
chic, you asked for the first one! The second is the same but for the second to last letter. Change the vowel to a consonant : )
oh - all my chemist friends are professors
chic, no! I gave you a clue for the de5/16. Add *** down on the bed : )
hurshy - those are good friends to have!
TY, lola
Lola, thanx, was a bit of confusion for a moment there.
my friends from college are now mostly professors of various things and medical doctors. a few lawyers.
chic, sorry, my fault. Trying to do two things at once : /
makes those of us without advanced degrees feel a little pathetic. :)
Yay. I've finally blacked out a letter!
good for you, torgone!
Right, I must call it a night. Good luck everyone! : ) Anj, 'night babe! (((xx))) : )

What's wrong with redeal? When you have a misdeal in bridge, you redeal the hand!
i was mad at that one too, nan
leslieann - are you saying that anj's icon said a word?
yes, that is what i'm saying
re 6/27 and the 5/16 that follows?
i thought you were!!! 8)
That's ok, i'm illiterate... ; )
re 6/27 - to declare something untrue again
re 5/16 - a colour as an adverb

shame anj
Thanks, haz.
...who? me?? It just says chocolate to me : )
You're welcome.

ny 5/14 looks like New York, a vowel then another US city abbreviated
any chocolate
baking chocolate?
oops - you're right nut....
Thanks, Haz -- must have monkey typed all around it!
i'm used to it
i need you nut to keep me humble.....8)
Glad you got there in the end.
i lead by example
kay rennie, just finished reading that first chapter, can't figure if she's phazing ranger out, or putting him in the lead.
nut - i wondered if she was going in a new direction...i hope she doesn't phase ranger out!!!
I knew, the minute I typed in yu4x1 that it was a mistake to even start. "you have 148 word(s) left to find" NO CHANCE!
Ex-Wren - you told us to remind you how optimistic you were when you started. You're halfway there!
This is a scary puzzle; I don't think I can do this. Ren, evanout, what you reading?
lol exwren - your comment is the placard of the day!!!
me too, cause i want ranger to win! he's the man. morelli is human, ranger is like superman. she ditches him and i'm protesting!
mab - janet evanovich's book "12" has chapter 1 posted on her web site
mab, first chapter of the next book in the series.
66 to go and I need a brew... anyone else??
i will protest as well...unless she's going to start a new series w/ ranger....oh yes!!!
Mystery?
Hi all! Well we got the biggie! Just wish I'd checked how many words before I started! LOL
funny, crass, mystery, fumbling private eye series
rennie, problem with those range man t's, they come in small, medium, and skip straigh to xxx
snowy - your fortune cookies sez you are in for an adventure...8)
my boobs won't fit in a medium, and xxx will fall of my shoulders
LOL Ren! Must read the Janet Evanovitch chapter! I love her books! It's so good to read for fun.
spose i could get one for a night shirt, but i don't think i could sleep with rangeman embroidered across my chest.
nut - it looks like they are sold out of x, xl, and xxl...
I need to read a private eye, mystery kind of book. Especially if it's funny too.
nut - also sez they run small and 2 order a size or 2 larger
go figure, everyone else gets to have rangeman across their breast but me
mab- they're great fun & no stress reading.
speak for yourself snowy, everytime i picture ranger, my blood pressure jumps
Just the ticket. I'll have to read her.
Ah now I was talking rest of story -not about Ranger who, it must be said makes most peoples blood pressure jump! Morelli too if the truth be told. Can never quite choose between the - I'm a sort of bit of each girl. -Greedy!
can anyone give me a clue for ta 6/18 i have the one bigger than someone else please
nut - email the web site. they are suppose to have ranger's unisex beefy t's as well
ruthy - it rhymes with a ladies clothes shop. Bit plus form of verb 'to be'
ta 6/18 = jewish prayer shawl or ta 4/4 + not ARE but **
ty renfield
y/w ruthy
okay, heading out to dinner

There are one ea 5 and two ea 4's - last ea 4: think french for beautiful (masculine plural) and remove the first letter.
al 6/27, 7/36 combo?
cyber, actor Ladd plus sometimes vowel and stick consonant : ) ...and plural...
Thanks, Anj -- are these really words or just part of someones fertile imagination?
I think Enable is just yanking our chain : / Mind you, the As and the Ls are beasties today : )
I have 5 al's left and I'm sure I've never heard any of them before... al 5/10, 6/18 following the ladd 6/7 combo al 5/10 following the Guiness last al 5/14, 6/24 combo
cl pl for et
lb, ...volcano on Sciliy : )
et - similar to a bunsen burner, or a volcanic mountain in Italy.
et 4/4 Sicilian volcano
...the beast is slain } )
any clues for the la 7's? I have the clothes washing one
Congrats, Anj -- it is a beast!
i was wondering what that meant...congrats anj
Help with the un10 please
la 7's - first one builds on the 4/4 and 6/18 preceding it - second one think of person who supplies ships and remove the first two letters (ch)
congrats Anj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thought I'd put my head above the parapet for some light relief! Won't be finishing this one !
Cheers cyber...your As Mr Ladd pluss the cross consonant, then plural al5/10 - sounds like it describes top celebs, as in 'this is an a.... party' (usually hyphenated) Last al5/6 combo is everything plus the same ending as that first Mr Ladd word you asked for, then plural : )
al 5/10 - 6/18 combo that follows the 6 & 7
evening all -- working on the 10 letter word, any clues?
Yvo, the un10 might describe the buffet at a Weightwatchers meeting ; )
hi aknitter! We have a beastie here!
Hi Snowy, and thanks. This one had lots of new words lurking... : /
ahh a wee beastie, that is what my grandmother used to call me LOL
mine used to call me her flower of the prairie! Must have meant a weed!

Thanks nan
lol, anj - love your clue for the 10!

Anj,still did not get it ,but will try till i do thanks
Anj -- still struggling with the al 5 & 6 following the 6 & 7 combo, and the al 5/10 following the Guiness drinks (celebreties?)
...more like 306 in the abyss : )
*pops into the log to get anj with a sunday-night sideswipe*
cyber, I gave you the wrong ones earlier : / a plus opp of early, then plural. The other al5/10 might be what a ship does when it leans over and stays that way...and that's not asink!
Oh, I see -- have them in the wrong spot -- it is the 5/10, 6/18 al's following 'to postpone suspicion' that I am missing.
LOl aknitter no. Lots of mountains and fields & coastline but not a lot of prairies!
Evening EvaNadine : ) Good weekend??
hi evanadine

haz -- can't seem to figure that out, got the first part but the ending escapes me. ty for trying
Do all the spelling errors in my last request indicate how thoroughly fed up I am with this grid?
The last part of the word can be either rent out or allows.

going to have to give up - it's been a long day - 3 littlies overnight & frantic cleaning before brother & sister in law came to lunch. !/2 an hour before they arrived, Kira jammed Alishas fingers in the door. It was almost completely shut too! Ugh! Poor littlie was hysterical. been shattered ever since!
206 left for me
Smith-LOL-trust me I know exactly how you feel...This is a really tough one...
Slayer, Hi how ya doing?
not realy
Snowy, sounds like you need rest more than babble! Sleep well.
Oh, poor baby, snowyowl! Did you kiss it to make it better?
good
Well, faerie, I guess I better break the list out first thing!
Snowy-owwwwwwwwwwwww so sorry for little one. You must be tired ; (((((X)))))
SMithie-that will only make you cry.....
I know know what the term hopping with pain means! I cooled them as quickly as she would let me. Her mum may take her to the dr tomorrow as they are now swollen as well as bruised. Poor Kira who is only 3 was too shocked to cry. We had a really awful 10 mins while they both cries. Lots of band aid cheered them up a bit tho'
thanks evryone for your help ,its much appriciated
sends babies kisses for fingers*
will check in later---need to start shoveling and get to store!!
Yvo-did you get your word?
My eight yr. old shut four of her fingers in the car door and then stood there and wailed with them in there instead of opening the door because she was hurting so bad that it didn't occur to her to open it. I was half-way into the house when she did it.
Bye, pbr!
yes i did thanks again
night yvo & pbr -TY Faerie -they will be appreciated! Really going now -Sweet dreams when you sleep X
Bye PBR
Yvo-your welcome :)
Oh smith! It really turns your stomach doesn't it? She let out the most unearthly scream when it happened.
Hello all, I have very little time but I need a clue for il6/18 and it doesn't seem to be the pl of il5/10. Help please?
Bye Snowy (((x)))
Really gone now! LOL
Snowy? I thought you were leaving lol
Marc - il6/18 - the most sick.
Hi snowy! LOL... Hi Marc. I don't have those yet, sorry...
have 158 words today ,think ill call it a night and watch some of the oscars ,good nite all and thanks
il 6/18 is the most sick
Yvo-have a nice night (((x)))
Thanks, Haz
Hi Haz :)
Haz - Did you notice my icon is our Bailey's cheesecake?:-)
Hello all - was just taking a phone call - yet another sheep lambing! The cheesecake looks great!
Any twin lambs yet, Haz? Oh, the 'joys' of turning them or pulling the 'stuck' on out by tying some baler twine around its legs.
brb phone
There are always plenty of twin lambs around here. The lambing season is quite long - some pedigree herds start lambing just around Christmas and the hill sheep won't be finished until April/May.
Haz - Quite a few broken nights for you yet, then. The ewes always seem to pick the wee small hours/the coldest, wettest times and the most awkward places (unless you have them in a 'maternity' unit).
Spring time is not my favourite time of the year because of the interrupted sleep. Before we were married I used to imagine that I might get up and keep my husband company during the night calls. It has NEVER happened!
Haz - You probably watched 'It Shouldn't Happen To A Vet' and romanticised it! LOL.
I know! A warm bed is much more inviting than a smelly byre...
Yes, Haz... or an enclosure of bales in an open field! Hubby will need lots of flasks of hot coffee with perhaps just a dash of 'something strong and warming'.
He generally just gets back into bed freezing cold!
Haz - That must be a nasty shock for YOUR system! LOL.
Haz - Remind him that part of your wedding vows was NOT, 'And my bodily heat I thee endow'. (Was it??)
My hubby is like a furnace no matter where he's been or what he's been doing. It's great fun to snuggle up to him when I'm freezing at night!
No - not the version I remember!
Smithchick - It's in the 'rulebook' that men's bum's are for warming our feet on but not the other way around! That's what I tell Paul, anyway.;-)
Has anyone got a clue for the last al5/10? The one between putting fears to rest and the pair of genes? I'm blowed if I can work out what it is.
I remember reading that rule!
The only bad thing is that he's always too hot! So my snuggling opportunities are shortlived.
al 5/10 a double consonant, double vowel
If you know French, it's the way a woman would say 'I went' je suis al****
Smithchick - What's the betting that it'll work the other way around when you're older and getting hot flushes (or 'flashes' as I believe they are termed in The States) - he'll be cold and want to cuddle up to you?!
Nope, I don't think it will. Although sometimes when he has a fever he's cold.
Thanks AnMogi & Haz. Your combined clues got that al5/10 for me!
Me too, thanks!
Good - can you believe all these a's and l's?
Just found se7/48 (the stuff that makes you hear the theme from 'Jaws' when it wraps around your ankles when you're swimming off shore). Can't believe I didn't spot it before.
Thanks, jacula! Now I found it too!
Haz - Yes, today's a's and l's have presented quite a challenge. My monkey has been typing full-time and is demanding a pay rise.
Smithchick. Glad it's not just me who hears that theme tune in the briny!LOL.
I'm getting frustrated at how long it's taking for each word to be accepted. Is anyone else having the same problem?
Haz - No probs at the moment. Try clearing your browser.
6 r words to find and I'll be done. Send out a search party if you don't hear from me for a while....
LOL, haz...
Is clearing your browser the same as clearing your throat?
Haz - Sort of. If you're in Firefox go into 'Tools', then 'Options' and then press 'Clear All', then 'OK'. You'll probably have to sign back in but your pc should work faster.
If you're in IE (Internet Explorer) Go to 'Tools', 'Internet Options'', 'Delete Cookies', then 'Delete Files', then 'Clear History', then 'OK'. DO NOT click on 'Delete Settings'!
I'm so close to finishing, I'll put up with the slowness.
en 5/12?? help pls, and thanks
en 5/12 - one who finishes.
en5/12 - what finishes something. Think of a UK soap that Dirty Den was in - Easten***s.
The r's have all been retrieved, the a's have been allotted to their places, and the l's have been located. I've finished!
94 to go. Time for the list!
99 still to go, but that is impossible, I'm out of here. Hope you finish Haz, but it's getting late and past your bedtime. Goodnight all
Good night, ex-Wren. Sleep well (I hope I do).
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR HAZ*~*~*~*~*~
hI & 'bye, ExWren.x
Thumbs down for me
Thank you, Jacula!
7 words to go here....
2nd ta6/18 anyone? After the one with 'more height'.
Height, plus form of 'to be'. Rhymes with woman's clothing chain.
Yay, haz!!! Hello and goodnight, ExWren!
Thanks, Haz. Could have sworn I'd already tried that.
Night everyone!
I'M FINISHED! 'Night, Haz. Hope hubby doesn't shock you too much when he gets back home.
Night, haz... Yay, Jacula!!
Well that grid was a brain taxer and no mistake! Good fun though.:-)
I see tomorrow (today, here)'s theme is Cavemen. I've got a couple of icons already lined up although I might yet ditch them in favour of a pic of my Other Half, unshaven. LOL.
Too funny, Jacula!
Can I help anyone with any clues?
good evening.
Hey, doxy!
Hello Doxy.
Clues for ny?
evenin all
hi evaN, you look scrumptious tonight.
thanks doxy -- lookin rather tasty yourself. ;)
ny word - Any of several African antelopes of the genus Tragelaphus, having vertical stripes on the sides of the body, including especially T. angasi of southeast Africa, the male of which has spiral horns and long black hair along the neck and the underside.
(Google it!)
Hi, evan. Thanks for the clue, Jacula...I have to say it looks very scary, though!
Got it...TY again, Jacula!
thanks for the clue jacula
y/w all.
just updated to what im eating right now. *drools*
pass the bowl please...:P
so yummy!!
Okay, how about ly6?
ly6 - One who plays a lyre. A lyric poet.
thanks again jacula
TY, Jacula...
clue for se7/48, pls?
kelp
se 7/48 this tangles around your legs while swimming in the ocean
bladderwrack is another type.
thanks to both of you.
10 to go, just want a time stamp to see how long this will take me - along with watching the aa's
y/w, Doxy. Hello Helen.
hi jacula, are you close to done?
Hi, Helen... 15 to go here. a's and l's.
98 to go here.
I was done a while ago, Helen. Just here to clue and chat now, when I'm not elsewhere gaming.
Jacula could you give me a clue for the ad6/7 combo?
i hear that smith, i'm having trouble with a couple of a's too & now gotta find the others
ad6 & plural 7 - The univalent radical C5H4N5 in adenine. Yemini port + a word, using the sometimes vowel in the middle tht sounds like 'nothing'.
Wow, I actually got that! Sheesh...Really great clue!
Thank gawd for that! I thought it might be a bit obscure.
thanks jacula. These stupid chemistry words :/
It was. What's scary is that my mind appears to be on the same obscure path as yours! LOL
Smithchick - Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult. LOL.
A compliment to be sure:)
I have the utmost respect for the obscurity of your brain!
*Grins*
Good morning all. A hint for the il6/18 - please :)
il6 to be the most sick
Hey Dianne and mrpresident!!
hi smith, dianna jac, doxy helen et al!!
hi to all now joining in!!!
mrp - That couldn't have been any easier to see - but somehow I just missed it completely. Thanks so much. Hi smithchick.
I've been in and out of here for most of the day and I have to say that il6/18 has been the most asked-for clue.
Just monkey-typed the al6/24 and al7/36 combo and all I can say is...No Way.
Excuse my apparent vagueness - I am also on another site, answering a challenge from another gamer to build a tower against a horde of Vikings. LOL.
I am terribly frustrated with this puzzle!! It is taking almost 45seconds for a word to be accepted onto the list!! Very, very slow!!!
A horde of Vikings might be a good thing...(wink, wink)
MRPres. Hi again. I'm having no probs right now. Could be because everyone's asleep in UK and Europe or could be because my browsers are clear. Go back a page or two to see my browser clearing instructions for Hazel.
SmithChick - not unless you fancy being raped and pillaged! Mind you, when I went to Iceland for the day for my 40th birthday with my 2 kids, I did bring back a bronze bust of a Viking that looked just like their Dad, my ex-hubby.
Things are very expensive in Iceland. I gave the ex the bronze bust. Kinda wish I kept it myself! LOL.
Oh, well. Never mind then. Guess I'd better stick to Norse gods or something.
Too funny! Was he an ex at the time? If so, you are far more generous than me.
I'm down to the last la7 word.
And it's yucky and I hate it!!!
Yes, he was an ex at the time. He also paid for the trip for the 3 of us. He's not a bad man, just a daft one. la7/36 - what you do when you wash and iron things.
congrats smithchick!!!
smithchick - I guess that means you got the last la7.
LOL...It was yucky and I hated it before I found it and then after I found it my feelings were just reinforced! Thanks, Jacula!!
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR SMITHCHICK*~*~*~ Don't mind bunging things in the washing machine but I hate ironing things!
Hi, I just have one word left to find and I cannot spot it. It is one of the ta6/18. I have the one that is opposite of shorter. Thanks anyone for the help.
it just seems to be neverending (sigh)
ugh, 5 more, these last few are worse than tooth-pulling
I actually hadn't owned an ironing board for over a year until I finally broke down and bought one yesterday! My son jumped on the old one and broke it while we were moving about 19 mos. ago. It was a perfect excuse not to iron. My mother-in-law was apalled.
ta6/18 - A shawl with ritually knotted fringe at each of four corners traditionally worn by Jewish males, especially at morning prayer. Also called prayer shawl. I had to ask for this one, too, even though I could have sworn I'd typed it in some time before.
I think the only reason I own an iron and ironing board is because of my sewing.
ta6/18...same first four as the first ta6/18 + form of being...
Thanks so much!!
ok, i'm gonna cave, can someone please help me with the last 2 al's - al5/14 & al/24
Helen - you wouldn't say that about tooth-pulling if you'd had a mad dentist virtually kneeling on your chest to pull out a pre-molar that you couldn't afford to have a root canal done on and breaking your jaw in his efforts! Yes, it happened to me!
Unfortunately, I don't know how to sew. That's one of those things that I want to learn to do when I grow up... that and speak Spanish, play the piano and decorate cakes beautifully. Just not sure when I'm going to grow up!
YOUCH!!! Dang, Jacula!
jacula, picking my jaw up off the floor now - that's horrible - i hope you are wealthier now (after the lawsuit!)
al5/14... To set one's fears to rest, for instance al + what a hen does to produce eggs...
I'm speechless jacula.
Doxy - aside from sewing straight, the ironing board, for sharp pressed creases is the seamstresses' friend. An old flat iron still presses creases better though.
no smith - got that one, i need the last one
I think I might throw up!! YUCK Jac!! (you poor thing you!)
clue for last en5, pls.
The other al5/14 is al4/6 + consonant that is already in the word and the plural...
If it was your last word, doxy it would be the en***. Finisher!
thanks smithchick, send the fish.
thank you smithchick - i love you
YW doxy:)
I love you too, helen:)
B/hell! I sign out and clear my browser 'cos the site's gone on a go slow and I come back to an all girls' love-in! LOL.
ROFL, Jacula!
LOL jacula
Time to change to caveman day icon. REFRESH!
Wish I'd taken a pic of my other half when he came home one night late last week, all grumped up and unshaven. Would have been a good icon!
Are you sure that isn't a Viking running around marauding?
Nah! It's a caveman running off with a defenceless woman over his shoulder. Speaking of cavemen, has anyone seen the film 'Quest for Fire'? There are no words, as such in it, but none are needed.
I've seen that one.
finally all 306 - i must say i really enjoyed this one, up until the last 15 or so - than is was almost as bad as 'normal' teethpulling
congrats helen!!!
thanks doxy - breathing a huge sigh of relief
Yeah Helen! Hello everyone...about 50 to go for me!
Hi Everyone!
clue for de6/33, pls.
WooHoo Helen!!! Was that movie made back in the early 80's, Jacula?
good luck kris - anyone need any help before i go?
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR HELEN & A HUGE ROCKET UP MY EX DENTIST'S BACKSIDE *~*~*~*~*
Hello kristin and JeeWhiz!
i remember quest for fire - good, but i liked the raquel welch one better, lol
ROFL again, Jacula!!!
1981, Smithchick.
jacula, you are cracking me up, really, did you sue him?
can some one help me with al7/36
Helen - are we talking Barbarella here? Or was it H. Rider Haggard's 'She'? 1935 version? Not that actress then!
smithchick-are you done? Jacula-dare I ask if you're not done? :)
Plural of al6/24...One of those dang chemistry type words.
Yep, I finished up about ten minutes ago or so. :) Yay for me!!
Well done!
No, I didn't sue the dentist. Was too screwed up by my divorce proceedings and all the fallout at the time.
cindasu - al 7 is the plural of al 6 = google - the acyl radical of alanine, CH3CH(NH2)CO
doxy, de6/33 Sandra De* + someone who is pale or palid
second al4/4 + the letter that Jacula referred to as the sometimes vowel + the consonant that appears the most in this puzzle.
That sounds like life really sucked at that time, Jacula.
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR SMITHCHICK AND A ROCKET UP THE BUM FOR JACULA FOR BEING TOO STUPIFIED TO SUE HER DENTIST WHEN HE BROKE HER JAW*~*~*~*~*~
Hey ren... Where have you and your folder been hiding?
ty anmogi
hey smith - i've been on the couch watching the tv!
TeeHee, Jacula... You're going to run out of rockets if people keep finishing!
I see my servant, Ren, is trying to blind us all with science. LOL.
nah jacula, 1 Million Years BC was the name of it, i'm pretty sure - i think they just grunted in that one too
I did the Tivo thing. Only it isn't called that because it is with Dish not Direct. Except that I can't remember the name so I'll just call it the Tivo thing. Okay?
yes mistress - i am trying to blind you all w/ science...
Evening All!! AnMogi - totally didn't get the de6/33. all i can think of is deealbino. ...and i actually tried entering that. didn't take it
Hey smaller!
smaller, de + 2nd vowel + to desire something minus the t.
hey smaller!!! ok - brb...have to go to the store....
Anyone seen 'Nell', the film with Jodi Foster about twins' language?
I saw that one too. I see most films at least once. Not all, most.
Hi Smithie! Hi Ren, Jacula, helenkeller, Doxy and cute little preggers Kristinc!
Sandra De* (double vowel) + wa 4/8 with out the last consonant
de6/33 - 4th letter of alphabet spelled out, or short form of Denise etc., + wa3 word for 'pale'.
hallo Smaller--good memory! :)
ooohhhh ty ty ty doxy, anmogi and jacula!!! got it!!!
Yes..Jacula, finally a movie you mention that I've seen! :)
Speaking of films of the minimal kind, did any9one see Emma Thompson's 'Wit'? It's most soliloquy and she plays the part of a professor of metaphysical poetry, specilalising in John Donne, who is dying of inoperable ovarian cancer. It sounds grim, and it was. But it was also a great part for her to play and it made me cry. I watched it on TV on Friday night.
Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, I'm v. tired.
Emma Thompson is a marvelous actress, but haven't seen Wit
AntMogi - I'd recommend you to watch it. If ever a film was a showcase for an actresses' talents, then this one is.
0 words to find.
yahoo Doxy! Well done!
It was also very true to life re the laughter and tears that crop up in these awful life scenarios.
Well, I hate to be a party pooper, but hubby is gone for his next stint at work and that means I can't laze in the bed in the morning while he gets the kids ready and takes them to school. Darn that gainful employment, anyway. Goodnight and good luck...(aren't I topical?)
Thanks Jacula, I'll see if I can find it
*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR DOXY*~*~*~*~
nite smithchick
Oh wait, first... WOOHOO Doxy!!! Way To Go!
nighty night smithchick!
Smaller...could it be just you and I left to finish? Hope not!
I was finding my caveman for tomorrow. Refresh
there are 3 re7/28s in a row, and I have the one that is the 'most' ending to the re4/4. Could I have clues for the other two? Thanks!
ch1212, they all build off of the re4 before them. Use the 3rd vowel in the middle.
Clue please for the first de 7/32 and the following de 8/45 please?
de7/8 combo - de + 1st vowel + opposite of early, plural
jacula, i agree--the film version of Wit is brilliant--also saw it on stage in NYC a few years ago
Thanks so much, doxy.
was reading what you wrote - i think emma thompson is just fabulous -i've never even heard of 'wit', do you know if it's on video in the US?
kristinc- HEY! was that a slam on my witty company?!!! for a preganant lady, you're pretty quick! good one!!
yes, it's available on video
jody foster in Nell - amazing, do you know that she made up that language all by herself - i loved that movie, alot of people didn't, but i thought it was great!
Hello, I need a clue for the 2nd ne 7/32, please...
smaller...my question a while back? no, actually I was just worried we were the last two on the planet who weren't finished but then others popped up needing clues and I breathed a sigh of relief that I'm in great company...you included!
it's the plural of ne6
thanx,une!
kristinc, that's good. hate to have to "open up a can on ya" on a pregnant lady. i already get in trouble for pummeling people to steal their chocolate. ...you don't have any chocolate on you, do you?
yw :-)
Smaller-ha! I'll take you any day...more weight now to throw around! Chocolate? well, at the moment no, but I could pry my self off the couch and get the granola bars I shared with folks last night (weren't as good as mama's cookies)
could someone point me in the right direction of the la 7/36? please and thank you
Finished ... finally!
Yipee Mr. P! Well done!
put a 'd' after the la6/18
kristinc, oh posh, you're only a few months along. you look great! pregnant ladies glow. it's only pregnant ladies that think they look like whales. the rest of us go "awwwww, she's so adorable!"
congrats, mrp!
been swearing like a trooper at how slow the browser is!!!
yay mr president!!
just got the la7/36...just kidding!
thank you, thank you!
la7/36 to clean clothes
thanks une!
the ny5/14 and na 5/10 anyone? Clues please and thanks?
ny5 ny + abbreviation for a southern state
na 5/10 rhymes with the opposite of love (plural)...ha***
na5 is 'the buttocks' n+at4/4.
And I seriously had no idea the na5 meant bootie...I'm so educated now! :)
thanks kristin, jacula and une... the ny clue was particularly great -- reminds me of the restaurant Brittney Spears opened -- something to do with southern cuisine and New York.
staller should be a word. person who does the st5/10ing
re 6/27, please?
HI chic! re + de4/7
ok I'm a whopping halfway. i quit! goodnight all!
Good job Smaller...see you soon I'm sure. Goodnight!
thanx, smaller. much obliged. still have 81 to go!
come on Chic...you can do it!
I'm stuck on the al 5/10 and al 6/18 just after the al7/36--fishy words I'm sure but halyp!
hi all, any clues for se 7/48?
lgorms...kelp
kristin, omg, i am so dumb, ty
Got the final two als and I'm done! Yipee!
kris al 5/10 = a + not early but l*** al 6 - plural
Hi Ren, didn't know you were lingering around! Good to see ya
okay, now I'm off to work on my taxes before bed. Mmm...good times. Thanks for the help earlier from everyone!
just got bback from the store.
bye, kris!
later kris - i'm going to watch a movie
Can anyone please help me with clues for the last RE 6/18 and the following RE 5/10. The last two words I need.
I actually need the RE 5/10 above the RE 6/18 and not the last one. Had them in the wrong order.
last re6/18 - to give in to. Or what a library book might have benn if you borrowed it again. re5 following - what you do if you are a property holder/landlord and you rent your property out again.
Jacula - the RE 6/18 clue - is there a plural also? I have a word that fits your clue but it is the next to the last one.
Thanks so much for your help! I am done and never thought I would make the deadline. See you all at the flip.
re7/28 is plural of the 'give in' re6/18.
Well done, Dalmatian.
i'm up for the flip - a rare event - but i'm so excited that it's caveman day! (that's not why i'm up though)
