Great macuser! Just be cautioned that I really am very, very clueless about how to navigate. Anyway, my photos are stored in iphoto, and every time I try to follow the directions on the profile page it imports the URL for iphoto or something, rather than anyspecific photo. I don't understand how to give my pictures web addressess which is what seems to be required. Thatw as probably very stupidly explained, but there you go.

well.... licketysplitAUS did a copy and paste and a little macro and saved it to the right spot and voila!!! MAGIC!!
I'm using "select an image from your computer" and then "browse" which is what it says - and then a list of my photo files shows up and if I click on one of the photos, it imports some strange URl into the space provded on the update page, then spins out for a long time and then gives me a blank icon.
That's strange, Eva - when you select "choose File" you should then get the Finder window

Eva. I use iPhoto too. Export the photo to your desktop (or some other photo). When I do that, when I select it from the "browse" option on "my profile" page it is automatically assigned a url that is understood. Be sure when you export it (an option under File in iPhoto) to save it as a .jpg

I gave it a whirl and couldn't get it to work, which I'm sure has nothing to do with your directions and everything to do with my computer dumbness. Anyway, I think this may be one of those thing which is too difficult to do over the net and requires a savvy human body sitting at my computer-probably for all of 2 minutes for someone who knows what they are doing.
I'm so sorry Eva. I wish I was closer and could pop on over. I know how frustrating things like this are. Silly yes but frustrating none the less. My husband is a computer tekkie and he drives me crazy doing things right off that I have worked all day and still not accomplished.

big ones. Having the usual spring dilemma of knowing how much my cat would love to go outside, and also knowing how short lived (literally)that pleasure might be, and how big the loss for us. He is our only cat, and deeply loved. And the coyotes are so close to the house. My next door neighbor has had most of her cats eaten. So he'll probably remain an indoor cat, with just walks on his harness. But I am building him (and us) a screen porch.

Eva... we have indoor cats and outdoor cats... but they are not hunted by other preditors!! I was devistated by my darling cat LIA being accidentally killed by the vet in November... still not over it!! Love your animals and appreciate all you have! Anything can happen...

also, Merp (the cat) likes dogs and is very curious about them, so would probably not run from coyotes until it was much too late.
Eva... our poor cat got a tick and we took her to the vet for the anti-tick serum... it killed her and another poor lady's cat!! We were so upset... the vet has the whole thing in check and is chasing up the drug company becuase there was a problem with the anti-serum... the vet is so upset, as are we! Lia was our baby for 10 years!! The vet is so outraged that the drug company didn't care, he has reported them.... 2 cats dead in 15 minutes from the same vial of serum is not right!!!!

Terrible. And to have no warning and time to say goodbye. Of course you're not over it! Merp had a bad reaction to a rabies shot several years ago and since then I have always requested the live vaccine-which causes less problems. Actually, at this point he doesn't get the shots. More and more vets are saying that if a cat gets the shots for the first few years of their lives the protection lasts forever.
FMithc-at night sometimes it feels like being in the Hounds of the Baskervilles. Very eerie and fascinating at the same time. There is the howling, and then the excited yipping when they make a kill. I've never actually seen them though. But I have seen the fisher cats which are equally deadly.
yeah... the vet is so sad about everything in hindsight... they would have thrown away the vial and opened a new one for the other cat... but it wasn't even thought about because in 12 years, only 1 other cat has died from the tick serum... it was horrid for the vet, for the other cat owner and us!!
mrp-I really respect you for having compassion for the vet too, and not doing the knee jerk thing which so many people would do, of lashing out and suing.

the vet was not at fault... they were up front from the start... very loving to animals and respectful to us... we have kids and they were the first to be consoled by the vet! We even got a letter and card of sympathy for our loss. No hard feelings there. Lia was the princess! She got everything she wanted. We loved her so much and she loved us back... it is very sad!

mrpresident, was just reading the log--what a sad sad story re your kitty . . . reminds me of my mom's springer spaniel Rosebud who, many years ago, went to the vet to be spayed when she was about 5--something went wrong and she hemorhhaged and died and it was such a shock to us and to the vet . . . he drove to my mom's house to tell her what happened and they wept together . . . later his wife wrote a poem about Rosebud and sent it to Mother . . . vets are incredible people . . . don't know how they do what they do . . .

tee hee* its the back of my house. I, yes I built the arbor last summer with the help of my friend John. I did 99% of all the work. It took me all summer but then I also put up a privacy fence with a private garden just for me. My yard actually has chain link fence so I wanted some privacy for me to go sit outside. Big job. I ran the tractor. Dug all the post holes all 46 of them and I did the entire roof over the arbor myself.

She's OK Lola, but fed up as she is not moving along as quickly as she'd like. They are waiting to move her on to a rehab type ward so that she will be ready for home. She had a few minor complications after the surgery but she is 82 and had problems before hand

the WMH is this house is Santa Clara California that was built by the Winchester family of the Winchester rifle company. Well, when Mr. Winchester bit the big one, his wife got it in her head that she would never die if she kept building on the house. She also thought that the spirits of all the people killed by winchester rifles were haunting her. So, she built this house, it's huge. It once stood at seven stoires tall, but in 1909 earthquake, the upper three stories fell down. But it's been repaired and its really weird. Staircases that go nowhere, doors that go no where, hidden passages, one way doors, and tiny little doors for Mrs. Winchester, cause she was short. Very odd, but very interesting. :)

i guess if you don't have it, you wouldn't know, but the thing about chef boyardee is that the sauce is scary. there's too much of it, and it gets everywhere, and stains everything, and it makes these sort of globular spots when mixed with water - i think it may contain radioactive materials...

yeah, maybe in japan ramen are nice but here they have these flavor packets with who knows what in them, and you rehydrate the noodles with boiling water and add the flavor packet, which is a powder
but you can buy something called Doll noodles, with sachet of what looks like MSG... add water and heat in three minutes... used to think they were cool when I was a poor student and knew no better...

Lo, you can store the music files wherever you want. Just remember that if you move or rename them, you will get a plague of grey ! 's on iTunes until you reestablish the links. I keep all my files in the same place, whether I download or upload from cd : )

Lo, yes. iTunes usually establishes a library in your 'My Documents' folder. You can use this, or, as I have done, created a seperate file elsewhere to store tracks. The tracks need to be uploaded onto you hard drive somewhere or iTunes can't play them. If you've deleted tracks without moving them to folders you may need to upload them again : )

jen i have used steroid nasal sprays instead of antihistimines (on occasion) and they have been really great for me so i hope it works for u. they are less intrusive than the antihistimines

Whoops, I'm back... on phone with hubby, who I finally get to see tomorrow after about 7 weeks! :) I was on Flonase before and it gave me headaches. He put me on Rhinocort this time, which is the same roid (budesonide) I use for my Crohn's)... hopefully will work better.

he is 22 when he was 10 he had a perianal abscess which took 8 visits to theatre and 2 years to heal and they couldnt diagnose it then then nothing till 16yrs old when he was diagnosed but no more abscesses thank god!
he had a bad bout at 17 and had a little part of bowel removed and has been totally manageable since then- he got sooo thin it was scary but is robust now
he also has a muscle condition which is inherited (3 of 4 of my kids have it) myotonia congenita - but we have never seen it in the family before !! my husband and i are never sick and we dont seem to have it

Yikes! Luckily they dx'd me w/o an operation... although it took 6 weeks and about 30 pounds. I am basically in remission (knock wood... 18 months!!) with Pentasa and Imuran. [[good thoughts}} for your son!

I see the grid in French sometimes. Words are simply letters - one could do the puzzle in any language, barring those using different alphabets. It is interesting that there were far more Spanish than English words.

Honestly, I think it means that she is a great girl, wonderful, intelligent, bright... but in need of attention. Being a shy girl (hence not using her real name on the chats), she wants the attention anonymously. Nothing malicious or malevolent, just a bit more attention.
Also note that Lemon disappeared once Miy came under fire Another possibility is that lemon is pulling a fast one and did not expect Miy to suffer for it
but what about the fact that her teacher, who knows her for real, doesn't think she is that kind of kid? i could see it either way before i knew that, but it seems to me that one person's real-life sense is better than a hundred people's on-line senses

Like, we don't announce on our telephone answering machine, "hello, I am out of the country for six weeks, so this would be a good time to rob my house...." We should also remember, at all times, that any of us could be pretending to be someone else. How would you know if I am really from Montana? Or if I really play the harp? I share superficial things but think it's not a good idea to tell the log when I am upset, or injured, or out of the house for six weeks, or when my husband is away. Those are all basic Internet safety rules. Maybe we should remind each other periodically?

Wow, sandy -- My friends and I nearly exploded a test tube by putting Calcium in Hydrochloric acid but that was it-- however the kid I was referring to managed to nearly destroy a beaker during the very first assignment of the school year. All he had to do was bring a beaker of water to a boil while observing the change in temp along the way --- I have never seen a piece of glass so black in my life and we used to have a coal burning stove with a glass door!
