sh 7 x's 2
hi, quick question--how do you find out how many points are possible. Thnx!
te 7/40, te 7/36
and what do things like "sh 7 x's 2" mean?
wth, thought we lost you! to find out info on the puzzle, click on the babblers anonymous link to the right, then click general, then click stats. however, it's not usually up until a few hours after the new puzzle is posted
have 14 of the 20 7's now.
there are two very helpful links over at the side for new babbler's, babbler's anonymous, and angerlsong's page, or if you ask the people on that are pro have the info
if you are a pro ($10 fee) you get to know how many words are in the puzzle. today it's 212.
hi again wth -- "pro" players have a list that comes up. There are also lists available on some of the friends of Babble websites to the right of your screen. Lickety's Babble Clues has a good list (not always complete, but usually); Angelsongs pages have resources including a link to the Babbler's Anonymous list
like today ther are 212 words total
thanks, will check those out. do i need to have a paid membership to see that info? (i know for the log you don't get to see what you have or have left, etc, unless you join)
sh 7/36 means a word that starts with sh, is 7 letters and 36 points.
Babblers list not up yet? 212 words though >.< Hopefully I'll have better luck today.
sh 7/21 x 3 words beginning with "sh", worth 21 points total, three of them
links are free. and if you ask nicely, the pros will tell you how many words
the sh, means I found a word that starts with sh, it was seven letters and I found 2 of them, [x's 2 (times two)]
wow, lots of words. this is my third puzzle, but i never get above 1,100 (which is about where i am now)
actually, you don't even have to ask nicely. it's a helpful group :)
wth -- you're doing well!
excellent, thanks nat and all for help!
well, you have 24 hours to work on it. puzzles change at midnight central time
no problem, I am fairly new too, and I couldn't have done it without help
i'm on eastern time so it's 1:32am. I will come by again tomorrow night and see if i can improve some. thanks again and good night!
Folks, my back and shoulders are tired. Time to turn in, I think. I only have 147 words still to find... good night!
welcome wth, and have a good night, see you soon!

yea, my creepy thing is a Tucson Blond taratula. We had one in the house last year; I had to wake up my husband to get it out of there.
your creepy thing is really creepy, today is the animal we want to come back as, so I left my sabie baby up, I would be her
Horse, then
yay!!! no more creepy stuff!!!!
chic I would have freaked if that was in my house
It was huge! My husband said you could've put a saddle on it!
i have on call a golith tar. and it can get as big a dinner plate
Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but: sw 7/48 - we 7/44
cind, OMG, I do not like spiders especially poisonous ones, I can't imagine what one that big would look like
cindasu, you're a spider fancier, I take it...
in tanks they are really cool to watch but i make sure the lids are locked on tight
my youngest son started with them in 5th grade so i kind of grew with them
I am thinking I need to get to bed, 60 seems like a nice round number to end off the night
well, it's different when you live in the desert and the wild, big stuff finds its way in. We've had scorpions inside too. I always see them first luckily. They are the small grayish white ones that can really make you ill.
1 40 and calling it a night -- see you tomorrow :)
'nite, nan!
we don't have any of that stuff here no snakes ick or things like that here they won't live long outside
when i was a kid we lived in the panhandle of Texas and our house was directly in the path of tarantula migrations. freaked us out the first year. it's impressive.
I got the 9!!!

Just found a we8/65 after playing around with the 10 and a we7/44 too.
a bit more help with the 10 please
The mi10 - a description of a place or John Wayne in full 'acting' flow.
An in-between cowboy movie?
You're on the right track - where are lots of cowboy movies set? - It's a combo word.
Ummm, Haz, that was a clue.
I'm stupid, broll, my apologies.
thanks got it
None necessary.
LOL we are all just blown away with a 10 letter word after all these small grids. Too many good letters to play with!
Got the 9! I think our brains get rewired after playing this game a while. I just sort of guessed at the 7. Imagine my surprise when it was accepted!
.. that was how I found it too.
Morning dear gang :)
Morning, Sprite - you'll love this grid.
Looks like a party indeed :)
Sprite, good morning, you are going to make short work of this one today I think.
Morning sprite. You will love this grid - lots of big words.
Wouldn't mind, I don't have much time today, but I couldn't stay away. :)
broll - there are 2 x sc7/40 I've only got 1 so far.
Hi Broll... Thanks for the great mi10 clue - (-:
The other Sc7 is anagram of the first.
I wonder why there are no shorter versions valid of that M10?
I looked for the most dutch looking sc7 and there it was!
Hi aloy! What are you doing on so late?
Dutch for twilight :)
one of the sc7 = someone who plans something maybe a bit naughty ? The other one sounds like someone who puts stuff on top of their bagel ..
Another word learnt!
snoring hubby!
Rats, 10.00 must go, well at least made it over 1/2 way, be back this afternoon. Have fun all.
Bye FMitch :)
sprite - I think the shorter version would be capitalized.
Bye, FMitch - I have to go as well.

Thanks broll, that must be it. Bye Haz :)
bye, haz

Bye, Mitch..

Crikey, there are only 4 vowels today, how can there be so many words?
Some words start with 4 consonants.
am new and i need help
And that recent Tm word is back.
dezzaog, in the upper right corner you see Babble Rules. In the list of Friends of babble you see Angelsong's page. Both should get you started. Good luck and welcome.

wish it was...thatd be an easy one
al, you still on?
I could've sworn schiester was a word
I think it is, but isn't spelt that way. I don't think the 'i before e excpet after c' rule applies to this word though
shyster maybe, but I tried that too.
take off the er
for some reason they dont like the er
Thats not in the word list anyway
where is the word list
under anglesongs babble page on the right hand side of the grid
Thankyou

if we could only swap the t and second s we would have a lovely 7te and 8te
Is BabAnon still being updated?
does anyone have a clue for the sc 9 letter word?
add on to the 7/40 before it
Hi - could someone tell me how many e words I am missing -and if it is more than zero that is how many I am! Thanks
212 words today
half sounds good to me right now...good night, morning, afternoon, etc. everyone
there are 10 x e words today
thanks rosalind.... pls dont depress me !!!!!! its actually the 'e' words number I am after.
ive not found the 7/40 yet so i think i should get searching

eva - think skin layer
Thanks brol! Had the singular, but didn't know the plural could be spelled that way.
find the de4/6, then the 6/27 and then get the 8
Thanks FMithc. Nice to know so many people are around,. Usually this is the dead time.
Hi Eva, good to see you, just popped back in for 5 mins as it's lunch time but am still working (honest)
we belive you FMitch! It's 6:30 am here, so I'm on borrowed time before the cat has a "You haven't feed me since last night and I know I look like I've swallowed a beach ball, but I'm about to die of starvation" fit.
ROFL re pic of cat you conjured up there.
Welcome one and welcome all!!!!
hi movieman!
Hi MM
The sc 9, I must be really dim but i can't see what you can add to it??
the vet put him on an all natural, all raw food diet which was supposed to make him svelte-but he can gain weight looking at his food bowl. Need to get him on the treadmill. If we let him go outside he'd get lots of exercise, but would also get eaten, so he'll just have to retain his rotundity. he's still the most beautiful cat in the world (yes I know some of you think you live with the most beautiful cats in the world, but you're wrong)
yes I am dim should have said can't see what you add to the sc 7
harv - there are 2 sc 7s
the sc9 has another consonant at the beginning and is a Yiddish term for spreading something (like on a bagle)
eva, whats the main clur for sc9? been stuck on it for ages
jo jo-starts with 3 consonants. Has a double vowel in the middle. Yo can do this with suntan lotion on someone's back, or cream cheese on a bagel.
The 9 is the past tense of the 7, which is the root verb.
whoops - starts with 4 consonants!
sc9/40 is the past tense of one of the sc7's
have you got a photo of this most gorgeous cat in the world, Eva? wanna see!
right broll!I stand corrected
Amazing what can be done with just four vowels!
I do Atalante, but havea been totally unable to make it work into an icon. Everyone has given me tips on how to do it, but with my mac and iphoto it just hasn't worked. I'll keep trying. He is quite large (aside from the beach ball belly), clearly has Maine Coon cat in his lineage, so a very square body, is black and white with long fur, tufted ears and paws, and eyes the size of the largest marbles , a pure green, surrounded by black mascara. His face looks like something from a classical Chinese opera.
omg! i am so bad at this today. cant understand the simplest of clues lol
Eva, if you email me a photo, I can iconise him and put him on my webspace and give you the link to the pic - shoudl be foolproof!
Atalante-I could email you a photo if you want?
Thanks finally got it
Great minds(-: How do I email you?
jo - think of lipstick s**** on a glass rim
yay! I just love looking at beautiful cat pics! my email is atalante_star@hotmail.com
Eva - he sounds georgous!! Hi Atalante Work is calling so will have to go back to lurking mode.
hi FMitch!
Atalante-here they come. Thank you so much for doing this!!!
Have to go feed Merp. Back soon.
Please let us all know the link so we can admire him :)
you're right Eva! he's *gorgeous* pics at: www.atalante.f2s.com/merp1_big .jpg and www.atalante.f2s.com/merp2_big .jpg (take out spaces of course!)
and Eva, if you want to use either of those photo as a babble pic, copy and paste either of these links into the box to the left of the "fetch icon" button in the edit pic page - http://www.atalante.f2s.com/me rp1.jpg or http://www.atalante.f2s.com/me rp2.jpg (taking out spaces of course!)
Aaawwweee, he is sooo handsome (ooops forgot Im supposed to be working).
he's gorgeous!
Hey all :)
Afternoon Tigereye
Hello Tigereye and everyone else, back to get some more nice words.
Hi agan Haz
Hi all! Is this Dr.G's revenge for us complaining about too many vowels?
Hey amanda - actually it's a fun one once you get started.
Is it, Mitch? How many words?
212 today with a 10, a 9 & 3 8's (& 20 x 7) but dive right in.
NO WAY!! Well, I'll take my time on it then. I'm staying at a friends house and I can't get the TV-DVD-SAT entertainment center to work, so I'll have all evening to Babble.
No TV!!! can do without DVD or Sat (actually don't own them) but no TV would be a prob. I work from home and have it on in the background otherwise it's too quiet :)
same here, FMitch! I don't even end up watching most of the progs, its just quiet noise
morning. hope this puzzle isn't as strenuous as yesterday's.
I did manage to get the stereo working, since it's not hooked up with all the other machinery - so I've got noise. The rest is all hooked together and controlled with one remote - beyond my technical capabilities...
morning peeps. theme today?
absolutely Atalante - I spent most of my working life in very noisy sales offices and can't work in total silence.
my husband always asks how I can work with the TV on, I keep telling him I can't work *without* some noise. He doesn't understand LOL
scheister is so close!
lol, flashback to yesterday i see a ne/7 22 that was the title of the last Star Trek film.
yay capone! we had that one a couple of days ago --- wonder if that means something!
maybe...i am in a bad mood today and for the 2nd time, theme? 8<
ugh, i can tell this one is going to be a chore.. i entered 6 in a row that weren't there.
animal you'd like to come back as is today's theme
Bear! Bear! Bear! Go to sleep in October, wake up in April - what a life!
k, thx. refresh
Barney?!!! the thing that turned many young minds to mush?
LOL Capone!
yes.
think of all the coin that thing made
hello plz tell me what sc9/40 means
bilions.
(thats not a clue amarnath - a response to capone)
This grid is for me - it has my name and favourite game!
how can i get clues
Just ask for clues and we will try to help
be back in a few
Amanda -which do you want - the sc 7's or the 9 - you're giving conflicting figures.
Sorry - amarnath
amarnath - I think someone said earlier it's a yiddish word. To spread, like creamcheese on a bagel
until now i have made 98 words scoring1100 ,can i get some more help
that's not me haz! the names are confusing though, now that you mention it
There's an sc7/40 that means a person who plots things. The other is an anagram of this.
i looked up the spread clue and the word it gave isn't possible with only 1 m
funny how a lot of words that have counted before aren't taking today, or is there something wrong?
The sc7/40 - begins with the consonants for a place of learning (three letters) then end with an anagram of me4/5 meaning a small amount
I haven't found that happening Capone - what words?
the sc7 and 9 are yiddish, if that helps at all!
i think pete took a few days ago, could be wrong
and i just gave a freebie away for a 5 letter, sorry
the dic gives the root of the sc9 as a noun: "(Yiddish) a batch of things that go together; "he bought the whole ..." Which admittedly has nothing to do with spreading, but the sc9 is a verb and certainly sounds like that's what it should mean!
if you can preempt, why can't you empt?
Pete has never worked - I know because it's my name. The full version is OK though
like i said i wasn't sure, and then i realized i just gave a major clue..lol
any clues for the 10?
mi10 - right in the centre of one John Waynes's films
Yay! got the 9 & 10, and one of the 8's ...
speaking of mi how does midw*** not count?
Atalante-I don't know if you're still here, but I can't believe it actually worked!!!!! I've been trying to figure out how to use Merp's photo as an icon for months. Thank you so, so much!
I'm still here! Yay! He's such a handsome boy, he deserves to be shown off!
good question, capone - another babble mystery i suppose...
and thx spellit.
Good morning all you lovely babblers! :)
although I don't think I would necessarily want to come back as a cat-even though this one has had a blessed life. The dolphin has always been a clear choice for me-despite what we have done to their environment. I think they are at least as intelligent as we are-they had the brains to come up on land, look around and head back to the water before we showed up. And I love being in the water.
Morning Jen! And yes, thx spellit
howdy, Babble! I have the 10, and I have the sc7...but no way can I make the 9 work. any clues?
I think I'd be a manta ray
mornin babblers!!
i got the 9 to work off the 7
** asner
Hi angel! If you put creamcheese on your bagel, then you sc9 it
Morning other eva(-:
Angel - past tense the one that looks like (and is) a dutch word - ends in anagram of me4/5
morning evaN... have you had a chance to see the cherry blossoms yet? Are they blooming this week?
oh - and there are 2 sc7's - the 9 builds on the 2nd one
Hey evanadine
i hear they are in full bloom as of today! unfortunately, i mfar, far away from their beauty...
Hi everyone - wouldn't necessarily want to come back as an albino peacock. they make lost of noise and shit all over the place. But they are awesome. My sis Joann has 2 right now.
Hi Faerie, Hi Evan!
Hi Amanda :)
heh, a peacocks noise sounds like someone strangling a cat...we had them on campus when i was in college. *ugh*
Hey faerie! Hmm, evaN... maybe we'll make a trip over this morning!
Morning all. Coffee in hand and ready to play
Sorry I ducked out on everyone yesteday but my phobias are exactly that a phobia and I truly get sick and start to hyperventilate at the very sight of a mouse. I'm serious. So please....Capone no mice.
{{{MusicMom}}} good morning...I love eagles they are beautiful.
Hi faerie and musicmum
morning MM!
((faerie)) morning, hi, Jen, Eva, Atalante, MM...
Morning Faerie - there is a scripture that says we shall soar like eagles. Every time I see one that is what I think of. I love peacocks too.
Hi Tiger Hi Jen
(((Angel))) Good Morning - how did you sleep?
I had a good night, Faerie, and CPAP happens this morning.
I know - good luck!!!
am sad now. i cant find anymore words but there is loads left
Is that for your sleep apnia Angel?
Faerie, you'll never believe this. I've ordered a new wheelchair (manual one, not electric). Yesterday, I found out that the one I've ordered costs in the neighbornood of $5k. May look into getting a powered one after all, since it's not much more money.
yes, MM. I'm hoping it will help me get more quality sleep. as it is I wake up often during the night. My doctor says I'm strangling in my sleep.
Wow - angel I had no idea they were so expensive. That's a used car.
I have sleep apnea too - stop breathing about 50 times a night
I'll keep you in my thoughts today.
OMG-for a manual one. That is unbelievable. I had no idea they would cost that much. Spring the electric if is that much more...Holy cow.
it is, MM. it's measured for me, specifically. The cushions to protect my skin and my back (arthritis) are $1500 alone.
OK I'm done but will stick around for clues for a while if needed
Spellit-it seems to be more common than I thought. You poor dear..
Spellit CONGRATULATIONS!!!! whoot
Thanks Spellit - I didn't get the John Wayne film clue. Any other suggestions?
Bravo Spellit!
only concern I have about an electric one is if I can transport it since we don't have a lift equipped van. we have a car with a good sized trunk.
musicmum, think cowboys
My f-i-l has sleep apnea as well... they removed something in his neck that was blocking his breathing passages and he also sleeps with this HUGE breathing machine that forces his airways to stay open.
musicmom - fly-over states?
I've had it checked out at the sleep clinic in Oxford and it isn't too bad - some people stop breathing up to 1000 times a night and these are the people who can't drive and fall asleep in their dinner
hello all you animals!!!
Got IT !!!! Thank you all!
MM: most of John Wayne's movies are W******s. Add a 3 letter prefix for "center" that begins with M.
I see your concern Angel. Maybe if you call a local DME "durable medical equipment" in your area and ask.
Interesting that it works as a 10 but not an 8. hmmmmm.
spellit, I just want a decent night's sleep. I always wake up exhausted.
praes u lurking
Yes Angel that is the problem. I only get really good sleep for about the first half hour, then it starts. Also I snore for England my wife tells me!
faerie, I have a techician coming out tomorrow for an assessment (the second one, since the first cmpany I called is out of network for my insurance. the insurance is getting hit hard with the chair and with the CPAP machine.
Angel = that is terrible. I have Chronic Fatigue that is allergy induced. Nothing worse than knowing you have been to bed and are still exhausted.
hellooooooooooooooooooooo EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi shorty.
and even when I have *time* to sleep, I often can't. I Babble at crazy hours.
does anyone have clues for the long words. think i have most of the short ones
'Shorty crept quietly in to Babble, unnoticed and unheralded.' Hello Shorty!
But that is what insurance is for. You pay the premium and they provide you with care. Plan and simple. Don't feel bad. I'm paying $402.00 per month right now for my insurance.
Jo-JO scroll down there have very recently been some great clues for the biggies.
[[[SHORTY]]]
breaking at 50, hope to at least break 100 today. bbl (<beeping> work!!!!!)

*hugs angel* I've had CFS for over three years now and at first it really messed with my sleep. I went nocturnal for about three months Hey shorty

de8/50 is plural of de6/24 ge8/55 is worst possible ge4/7 we8/65 is past tense of we6/30
faerie don't open it!!!!!! It's a trick!!!!!
((shorty)) oh! Faerie, guess what? I figured out how to add graphics to the template I used for your Babble pages, last night. I was struggling with it, then all of a sudden, there was an "aha" moment, and it worked. That's why I love design. That "aha" moment.
faerie - dont look at it, it's mice
shh JEN!
OMG - I almost opened it. You little jackass.
you guys really suck... 8p
well I could say something even stronger about you!!! and I bet Faerie would too if she looks at it.
Thank You everyone. I was actually typing it in when I saw the warnings flying at me.

capone, you wouldn't like it if someone treated you the way you're treating Faerie.
......@ @ ......('o') ....º(___)º MOUSE!!
thanks {{Jen}} {{Angel}}
verrrrrrrrry funny. for a 4 year old
Angel - he probably would as he love to be the centre of attention and is a rather perverse character.
2.44pm is UK time messages appear almost instantly but we are 7 hours ahead
Its ok I'm just not going to pay an attention to Capone now. I'll just dive into the grid and find all the words and act like a troll and then post them for everyone else. LOL
I'm 32 years old, and have been working with a group of guys that are 20-30 years older than me for the last 14 years, trust me, I've taken a LOT of heat.
please do! especially the 71 I'm missing!
LOL - I've entered 2 words so far. Looks like another long day.
Faerie, I still love ya though. /hugs
I have 167 words so far
Capone - sometimes you have weird ways of showing love. I think you need to watch Barney
Be sure to ask TSM about the big rubber spider I mailed her a few months ago...she hates spiders.
Oh Capone - you are a little prick and you know it....I bet thats what Toes says everyday.
Or ask my mom about the time I put a giant rubber snake in her bed.. lol Or the time someone put a needle in my recliner and I almost sat on it (I hate needles).
I think you need a hug from a big burly Barnie...
Hmmmmmm you are permanently out of Santa's good book aren't you?
..or just a smack?
Yea I'm sure she does, but the fact she still speaks to me speaks volumes of how great her sense of humor is.
Greetings, all... how is everyone today?
(((Jera)))) doing good.
hey, jera!
refresh
Hey Jera!! Beautiful cat!! Looks like a Maine Coon...
anyway, I better get some work done. Back later. /awaits huge wave of applause from the peanut gallery
Hi Jera SYL Jera
bye Cap!
I'm going to stop for now - my jeans are finally dry so I can leave the house, and I've got100 or so left to entertain me this evening. See you later!
Bye Capone.
Needles! Oh will you please stick me with them? I feel faint.
hahahaha LOL faerie.
Thanks Spellit.Am told there is 1 ten letter word today. the mind boggles(or should it babble)!!!!
Bend over.
for you babe, ok.
Bill it isn't an oddball word at all once you find it.
Capone you need to go back to work...remember?
So tired today... getting a late start. Just got back from dropping off the Sprite at school... I let her sleep in since we were out late last night... (somebody ask me why we were out late on a school night!)
I wish my husband could give Capone an injection with one of his cattle needles!
I gave a clue for the mi10/112 timed at 7.09am
Another girl scout votage?
LOLOL Haz
I'll bite... why were you out late on a school night?
can someone post the stats for today please ;)
Why were you out so late Jera?
HJera - why were you out late on a school night? so were we
My cat is a Siberian, Jen... I think it's a new breed... sooo pretty! I will probably come back as a spider the way my karma is, though...
Haz - the purple solution maybe?
There was a special badge workshop where the Girls earned their Aerospace badge and (drumroll please)... got to meet a REAL LIVE ASTRONAUT!!
There's bound to be some concoction that would keep him quiet!
That's really cool Jera! Where was it held?
Oh Jera!!!! That is terrific. So much fun!
LOL Haz.
He was really cool... answered AAAAALLL the questions & posed for pics with the Girls. Really quite awesome. The Sprite already had that badge but wanted to go again because of him.
How exciting Jera.. Haz I'm sure there is the purple soultion is what they use in the US to put animals down with.
Anyway, I'm at 170 words so that seems like a good time to take a break and get some things done in the house. I'll be back later - how are you going, Faerie - built up to a good speed yet?
It was very convenient at the local elementary school (a mile from my house).
That is great!
I'm doing great now Haz...thanks for asking. 30 words.
I wish I could remember his name... he's a neighbor of one of the other moms, not sure if she's a Leader or not.
I'm at 67 words and getting ready to block out the log so I can focus. I need to sew Sarah's cape for Harry Potter Event and embellish my own. Also need to look over my lesson plans for tonight - have a whole new group of infants for the first time.
Good - I'll see you all later.
oh-oh - just about to start on the dreaded re's
What Harry Potter event? Is something happening I haven't heard about?
Theme? Animals, pets?
What you want to be reincarnated as, BV...
see, I told you my icon can fit in for almost anything! I would like to come back as the FSU masacot! LOL
Our SU does an Event for Council every spring. It is for Juniors only. We transform a local building into Hogwarts. We do science and math related activities in a "magic" setting. I'm teaching divinations 3 this year ---- statistics and probabilities.
OK, fixed myself...
LOL Jen Jera - the girls dress as characters. We have a sorting hat and put them in houses. Cadette scouts act as prefects. We even have a banquet, owlgrams and a howler.
Refresh!! Just got a phone call from a friend and we are going to the butterfly house today. Huge place. Covers almost a city block.
we6/30?
How cool is that! I did a science workshop for Brownies summer before last... Science magic... the Girls loved it! Go work on the costume, {{{MM}}}
I probably won't be around much tomorrow or Saturday due to the event. It takes hours to set up, implement and tear down.
I have one more hour to play<G> As soon as the Today show is over - I'm out of here until at least noon.
Going to jump into the shower I'll be back before I leave. *did that make any sense*
Have loads of fun, MM... maybe share some pics? You have my addy, or you can round robin icons, LOL
Oh, okay... I thought you were leaving right away... I didn't want to hold you up...
Bye FAerie
Faerie... that will be so much fun, wish I could join you!
in the shower? I'm very lost....
BYE Faerie == Jera - I will send you some pics from last year. I'll send them to your email
WILL someone post the stats for today please ;)
Hardcore, go to bab anon to get them.
Anyone have the ch 6/30? I can't seem to get it
Oh goody! Might give me some ideas!!
Add a consonant to your ch5/16
Faerie made sense to me... *looks worried*
Oops, sorry... pluralise your ch5/18, I mean...
Didn't even see that up there, get confuse when there are several of one letter on the grid. Thanks!
No prob, you help me loads!
Okay, I'm back, not that anyone missed me. Dog keeps whining to be let out then does nothing! :(
I hate it when a critter does that... cats are bad, too...
Our cat is strictly indoor... we paid too much for her to have her wander around! LOL
That die7/32 is an odd one...
I agree
I can understand with a purebred, Jen. Ours are mutts (cute, but mutts). Mine is 12 1/2 & I figure it's time to let the old guy live a little. We have a nice big back yard & as long as they don't try to cross 123, they're pretty safe.
Oops, sorry, didn't meant to give a third letter clue...
brb, potty emergency...
We have moved so much with her (8 times in 10 years), I think she'd get lost anyway! She got locked on our balcony in SPain and she was scared sh*tless!
To quote Babble, 'oops.' Thought today was most admired person day. I adore my icon, but I don't think I necessarily want to come back as him. Will change in a minute. Morning all.
morning mab
Morning mab! Who is that? Not recognizing right off the bat.
Morning Mab. This handsome man is my husband. I want to be the husband in the next round, tired of housework. Want to drive a truck around all day and act tired.
You had me very confused there for a minute bunny, I hadnt' refreshed for your new icon, looked like you were claiming to be married to a white rabbit!
LOL bunny
LOL, don't think that is legal here....
Abraham Joshua Heschel, may his name be for a blessing. Was a rabbinic sage, active in civil rights movement with MLK. Your husband is a bunny, bunny? I must need to refresh.
Ahh, thanks for enlightening me mab. :)
Woohoo - first time past 600 points, mind you that mi10/112 has helped a great deal. being a lazy person who hasn't read all the way down (and hasn;t yet done the decent thing and gone for a Pro membership) how many words am I looking for today?
Hey all! OMG I have to change my icon! BRB
Back for another round. I think TSM is logging on soon, don't tell her how mean I've been today, kk?
Some hush money would be grand!
crap, was hoping to get that on and down the log BEFORE she got here
WTG david! You are doing great! There are 212 words today. :)
ROFL Cap you are barney :) Your awesome babe xoxoxox
Like she's not gonna look through the log andyway Cap...
my points are at 777 right now..... /prays for enligtenment
OK, now I'm struggling with th ege 5/14 (not the time period) and ge 6/24. Are they related?
I love you you love me oh boy I can't wait to clean up after our ba-by. (actually, I don't do diapers and spittle...all you TSM)
Yep, well happy with today's score - keep having to hide this window behind my Outlook window as the boss keeps coming over to ask questions. Luckily he has gone to a meeting, so all clear for the next 30 minutes
any hints for the mi10/112
bumper lurking?
shorty, Nebraska is considered a mi10 state
good hint Jen
mi/10 what states like Illinois, Michigan, Iowa are considered
tyvm got it
hello : ) how goes today's grid? another biggie! lol
does anyone know how many words today?
and why the 7 letter root of the mi/10 doesnt count still baffles me
Hi babbler! Owl, 212

@bunny: eg 5/14 = opposite to what you do with your food
212 owl
capone, is that Mr Snuffleupuguss (sp?) ??
I'm sorry David, I separated the e in my "the", it's the ge5/14 and ge 6/24 I'm huntin for.
FINE! after a week here, i went pro... too addicted
woo hoo praes! You are now under it's spell..... must find words.... can't stop....
Good for you Praes. Glad you joined the club.
Make that just the ge6/24 now.
No Babbs, it's BARNEY!
The mi6/24 plz......
yeah, it's like that. I keep this screen up and flip back and forth from it and work
We're in a club? I want my hat or badge then? When do we sell chocolate so I can hit Smaller up?
Congratulations, Praes!! Now, today's theme is "What animal we would most like to come back as". We get most of our icons from Google Images. Go get one! :D
Back again!
my desk faces the window and door to my office, so I can see when someone is coming to disturb me.
capone - lol!! duhhh!! I've lost touch.... : /
hey artlady!!! I'm working on that babble convention for your visit to the UK! : D
Good! I've been working on details of the Italy part of the trip while I'm on spring break.
The reason I want to be Barney (aside from the fact he was a cool cat of mine that passed 5 years ago) is that that damn purple dino is a gazillionare!
We need to fix a day you're definitely gonna be in London, and then I'll arrange the babble convention around that. How does that sound? : )
i miss my rottie
Wow! Just found a word that is the source of Faeries favorite pasttime! SBB! se/5 12
awwww.... nice icon, Praes. I knew a lovely rottie called Morticia once. She had hip problems (apparently this breed does) and she was always in pain, poor love.
REFRESH

Okay. I'm over half way done. Need to go sew and work on costumes for the weekend. Be back later.
too bad I didn't know ya 2 years ago praes. some asshat threw a rott puppy over my backyard fence, i gave her to my driver because I'm not a dog person. She's a sweet dog. Ruby is what he named her.
((Praes)) so sorry to hear that. They're lovely dogs, I know.
Praes - My first pet was a cat named Kiki. He was the best cat EVER! :) I loved him very much. He has a hyper active thyroid. He lived for 18 years and we had to put him to sleep. I was there. I knew it was harder on me to watch but it was where I wanted to be... Still real hard to think about
OMG KITTENS me/4 9 me/4 9 me/4 9 !!!
I <3 Capone :) I <3 WoW lol.... speaking of witch, I am going to lvl tonight! 4 bars baby! WOOT!
cool. i'm on destromath -- i have a 60 female gnome warrior and a few other smaller characters
is that a PvP server? I've been wanting to xfer off E'T, at least with my priest, but don't want to level from scratch (too much invested in his professions, rank and reputation)
Well since I took tomorrow off TSM, just let me know when you're ready to play. We'll get ya to 56 tonight.
Okay only 89 left... need to do some bill paying and bookkeping. TTFN! :)

hi all, can anyone help me find mi6/24. it's making me nuts!
Dogs will eat all kinds of things - a client had a dog that kept eating her underwear. Another managed to swallow a pudding spoon!
you a vet haz?
Mi 6/24 is the past tense of the mi 5 before it
mi6/24 - part of form of address for single woman, followed by writing instrument.
evan - no I'm not a vet, my husband is.
I've had a few dogs that ate my underwear LOL LOL
thank you!!
ah, high respect for vets over here.
the 2 legged variety shorty?

den den - are you lurking?
I always say that it's not so much a job as a way of life.
no 4 legs ROFL
de 8 - relating to skin
Sorry - I gave the clue for me 6/24 !!
couldn't do it myself, i can't stand to see an animal suffer, i cry and sob and get puffy eyed.
we 8 - went as far to the left as possible
ge 8 -- superlative for the most bacteria
Doggies love underware...
not my dog, he loves shrimp.
Okay, I've managed to finish the grid with the usual assistance of lists and resources. I've got to decorate a cheesecake so will check in later. Bye all.
so long haz
arb, haz - thank you tons!

bye faeriekae!
WOW, just stepped out side. 61 already, i'm only going to work here a bit, then i'm going out to play !
email for the last 8 TSM
Hello everyone. Just wondering how people know how many total words there are. Is there some sort of program that solves the puzzle automatically? I notice that there are certain people who always get all of the words. I'm suspicious.
later Faeriemouse
don't be suspicious of me biggles, i have four words.
Hi biggles... some of us are just too stubborn to let a puzzle go without solving it... others are actually that smart! Many of us make use of clues that are available on some of the Friends of Babble sites... check out the last four on the list especially... and of course, lots of us help each other!
Biggles if you upgrade to Pro you get stats and a cool icon
Not that I really care if folks cheat. I wouldn't be interested, since it would take the fun out of it. Just wondering really.
biggles, some of us are geniuses, verily! ;D
Dr God (the inventor) is a nice guy whose mother would like him to earn an honest living...
It's not cheating, it's using the tools available...I always need hints and I've been playing for many months.
only kidding! the longer you play, the more you get to know those weird little words that keep cropping up. : )
99 left to find. I'm going to take the laptop and some iced tea to the porch. it is beautiful outside today. Have been next door helping the elderly neighbor with some yard work.
but we're still all geniuses
artlady, making us all addicts (to babble of course) is an honest living? ;)
I'm starting to get the hang of this thing... more than halfway! Woohoo!
thanks Artlady, I think you answered my question.
Stid - what a great looking fish. Did you finish yesterday? I'm sorry I pooped out of giving clues.
Jen, now I'm an Iron Sudoku addict too! I had to leave BAbble for months because of my busy schedule. This is how I'm spending my spring break...
I'm a sudoku addict too... : /
I don't do the numbers stuff... IMO numbers are evil ;)... but I looove babble!
Thanks musicmom -- I decided that in my next life I want to live somewhere warm... and be beautiful. I finished early yesterday and stayed up to offer extra confusion to poor jeffer...
did he finish? He was struggling when I quit.
no, he got to about 10 and then the puzzle flipped...
awwwwwwwwwww
I hope he didn't get discouraged, this puzzle seems easier... (she said, hopefully)
Hello, All and thanx, capone for the 10!
Last night was my first time for the flip. I didn't finish yesterday's...of course, starting at 10:30 pm central time didn't give me much time!
chic, long time no see
phone brb
Nice pic, chic!
np
Oh, chic! Now I want to be a horse! Also an eagle, a tropical fish, etc. Too bad 'chimera' is almost, but not quite, in the grid today.
Jen, I loathe numbers too, but I love sudoku! Its patterns really, not numbers
Hi nut, it's Race for the Cure week in Tucson and I work in registration in the office. So this week I'm putting in extra time. It's awesome; they're exceeding their totals already over last year's.
hi chic, pretty pony!
okay, below 100; I need to do some laundry (and make the humminbird food), then I'll be back...
aw chic, it's coming up soon here too, i was going to do it, but between overtime and hubby nut, it won't happen. i'm sure we'll get pulled together for the relay for life though.
Back
Hi Art Lady, Stid and Mab! Stid, what part of WA do you live in? I lived 27 yrs. in Kitsap Co.
hi chic : ) hi atalante : ) yes I agree, sudoku is number patterns. no maths involved (happily!) : )
Iwanted to do relay last year and it didn't happen. maybe this year.
(( Mab !! )) beautiful icon! : )
our team was called 'flaming hot cheetos' last year.
Hi Babbler and Musicmom, I never do the race itself; just the office stuff. I like being behind the scene. Kinda like lurking in Babbleland....;-)
Lol, nut!!!
i was punishing them with that name actually.
there are only four vowels! how can there possibly be 212 words. I don't believe it. sigh...
chic -- thurston county, on the border of mason county... not as rural as it used to be!
i hate wa., especially kitsap - no offense anyone
i was born there ......
I'm happy to say that I escaped WA. I love the desert; endless summer. But why is that, nut?
sorry capone, it's really more of a law enforcement thing, i've never actually been there.
Hi, everyone. I just picked up my CPAP equipment. It's really nice. Not at all what I was expecting. The machine itself is about the size of a portable radio, and even with the humidifier and tubing, it weighs less than 5 pounds. Has a compact carrying case for easy packing.
punishing how evan?
me either evan... 8)
neyone....how many word today???
music - no one would suggest a name for the team, so i picked something i hoped would embarass them all, now would you really want people wondering why your team was called the 'flaming hot cheetos'?
What if kitsnap was full of criminals but otherwise a paradise? what then, nut? huh?
Excellent angel!
chic, I am just the opposite! I can't stand even the relative verdancy of eastern washington -- and california and nevada and the other dry states are just too much dry...
212 words, shoelace.
neyone....how many words today???
thanks angelsong
mab, don't care so long as i can sort out the law enforcment agencies.
LOL that sounds like something I would do.
bet they suggest names this year.
how about bounty hunting as your next career move? I'm going to get one of those evanovich novels.
MM, for the first time in a long time I am hopeful I will be able to get restful sleep.
mab, saw a special one time said that pennsylvania was a great state in regards to laws for bounty hunters, great state to bounty hunt in.
Angelsong, that would be so good for you -- I have some friends who have CPAPs and they have really helped.
criminals are so scary though
I'm hopeful for you also Angelsong.
oh! now a know what a cpap is! my dad has one...duh.
I already like the equipment. The mask is light weight and very comfortable.
ok back... annoyed but back lol
s'okay mab, i'll leave my gun at home in the cookie jar and break out the hairspray.
TSM -- GMTA! nice icon. ;)
whats wrong boo bear?
I had to tell a co-worker to fix an error that was made and she <beep>ed at me about it. I nearly snapped... lol
98 to go...i am sooo hoping to get some sleep tonite. my household members are getting worried about the late nite babbling.
evan! hurray! love the icon! lol
oh, that's good Angel. If one needs a cpap, one really needs it. I hope it makes a world of difference for you.
okay, I got sucked in to finding all the des... de 5/16 and 6/27 are holding me back... help please.
Going to grab a bite for lunch brb.
I don't have them stid.
Those words tell you about how far down things can go.
I even like the carrying case! I am committed to using the equipment properly, and I think I'm going to feel much more energetic in just a few days.
cliffopa... babbling at night? are you talking in your sleep? (smile)
t's and w's, then I can get productive. It's so nice outside...
de 5/16 - some fishermen use a ***** finder to locate fish.
Haz -- I think I've reached the de 6/27! thanks for the help, I'm off to accomplish something with my morning. Later all!
haz whats your icon?
lol, TSM, take the kid from Brooklyn's advice, tell her to "Go <beep> yourself!"
I haven't changed it since yesterday - it illustrated my phobia of heights. It's the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge on the North Antrim coast - not an elephant as some people thought yesterday!
lol capone :) Well, she just came back again wanting to show me pictures of some party. I hardly know this person and i was trying to be nice but she isn't doing her job. Had to tell her again to fix the error she just made even worse :(
ok, then tell her I said to go <beep> herself!
Hello everyone :)
tsm, put her on a lousy project. make her staple all day or something.

tsm - ????????
the stapling thing?
sweet, just a short hop down the parkway. I've been in Florida since I was 3 (aside from a brief time in 6/7th grade). Take the kid out of Jersey, but can't take Jersey out of the kid. My pop lives in Flemington and my younger sis is in Morristown. Aunts and Uncles all over the place too. I miss being there. TSM always picks on my because of my slight southern accent ..... that <beep>!

Sorry cybernan, no se's yet.....missed them all last night
lol, sp/5 14 and se/ 14 are both in the puzzle today, SBB #1 (faeriekae) must be in heaven!
sc 7 & 9?
cybernan, sc 7 = someone who sc 6/27
Have that one schroeder -- it's the last two sc's I need.
Oops sorry, try a bunch of things that go together...then past tense
Hi Tink!!! can i have a hint on the sc6?
sc 6: plan, connive
dun, dun, dun, dun, d-d-d-d-d-d-dun - BOO! he smaller!
thanks cybernan!!!
Hi Smaller, a secret plan or plot to do something.....
Hey all, I'm back!
i'm still puzzled about this other 7 - a bunch of things that go together...
wb jera
Hey Nut!!! woohoo for you!!!
smaller dun as in sound effect, not dun as in done! silly girl, i've been out playing too much.
Hi everyone! Hurshy, she gave you the def.
Hurshy, instead of mixing them together you sc**** them together.....maybe
73 to go & a Girl Scout meeting tonight... please forgive if I don't answer right away if someone is talking to me...
i figured, deutsch, but i can't think of the word
to me, the second sc 7 40 sounds like spreading cream cheese over bagels.
Hi Jera and Deutsch!!!
thats me finished
YAY sha!
whats SC/7?
well done sha!! hiya anyone i missed!
Wow, sha! Excellent!
Congrats Sha!!! Deutsch your going to make me hungry....
Oh, that sc7 is lame. It should be spelled with an a.
lox and bagels, shroeder. Yummy!
at last, i have got it. now about the 10... i think i heard it was past tense of an 8? clue me in on the letters?
deutsch, bleeekkkktth!
I live in Illinois therefore I am an..mi/10
great sc clue, deutsch! Thanks.
me no like bagels. or lox. or cream cheese.
But I am still stuch on the darn sc- bagels, cream cheese?
No, hurshy, not a past tense. It's a description of an area where you might find, say, Iowa.
Hursh Mi10/112 centre + cowboy film
Just the bagel would be fine with me....
wow, why is that 10 a word and not the 7
se 6/18?
The German word for sc 7/40 is "schmieren"
Because it's the adj form.
vi, so?
Vicuna, I'm from Indiana. I got your clue immediately! Thanks!
we don't like nouns anymore?
good question hurshy - I don't get it either
Why oh why did I start to enter words last night?!! I have only 30 mins right now while at work and if I chat even less :) and I only found 40 before I turned off the computer!!!
this is why i don't fuss about finishing, i have enough stress in my life.
still on the phone
ruthy are u babbling?
So technically I think the 7 is a noun. We love nouns, but sometimes adjectives have more letters! Anyway, add the last three letters of everyone's favorite Babble bird, the arctic t---.
((((GW)))) I didn't see you last night!!!
Hurshy -- put a prefix on your w 7
Hi Grey, I thought the regional US word was capitalized anyway.
Oh GreyWoulf... that's harsh. Your mom finished last night just before the flip... not that it helps you, just was nice to see her!
oh i GOT it, i'm just kvetching now
evan -- I don't really fuss about the finish -- I just hate to leave anything incomplete :) For the longest time I used to force myyself to finish every book I read, no matter how utterly agaonisingly bad, because I couldn't bear to leave the story unresolved.
Oh, okay. Kvetch away, then! :)
ge8, we8, what else 8?
Grey, I used to finish ever book, too. Then I realized there were too many good books. LOL
((**Schro**)) -- I turned in early last night - before the flip -- I didn't play yesterday at all -- but I was killing time before having to give Seb the 2 am feed :)
i never finish a book that doesn't grab me, takes away from the time i have to read good ones.
hey guys!
Deustch -- whereas I discovered the opposite -- there are soooo many badly written Fantasy and SF books out there it is not a surprise that some people condemn the genres
Hi Temple!!!
fair point gw.
Hi temple! Grey, soooo true!
even - my belief used to be that every book had something to redeem it, if only a single very cool scene, character, or even line :)
i've no patience for that.
Grey, I agree. some books are just plain pointless.
Welcome back TO. I've been on the phone about our GS event.
I can't believe I've been here for an hour again -- how time flies when you're being tortured... so I'm off to fold clothes. BBL
There's a de 8
hiya could someone please tell me which 8 letter i am missing? i have ge8 and we8
de 8/50
I think the reason most extrapolative fiction, whether fantasy or SF, turns out to be drek is because it takes a very special mind to be able to truly envision the undiscovered :)
later, stid!
sneaking in a quick few...before the next crisis : D
Bye stid!!
cnan - plural of the de 6 that means skin.
Oops just realized you were answering a question
mm - thanks from me, though, cause now i got it!
My problem with reading series in SF/Fantasy is that the authors don't write fast enough. I find a series read all available and then by teh time the next one comes out I have to go and reread the whole series, of course it does tend to help find the real gems. I haven't really found any new authors recently though
Decided to check the news before I stood up -- and there was something good! "American reporter Jill Carroll was set free today" I wish all the hostage stories ended this way.
Had it Musicmom -- Hurshy was asking for the last 8
Now I really am standing up and walking away...
tigereye - if you read star trek books you have the opposite problem bc they are all by different people so they come out very fast - i can't afford to keep up.
who do people think are the truly good SF / fantasy authors then?
thats me finally finished
of course some authors are better than others... peter david i recommend
bye stid
congrats ruthy
ata!!! what say you? list when?
di 7/36 anyone?
well done sha
under 60! LOL cos that's what I've got now!
preaching to the chorus here, Tigereye. My other problem is when an author write his/herself into a corner that they don't know how to get out of. My best example currently is the Anita Blake books by Laurrell K. Hamilton -- her characters are so powerful, yet so woefully stupid at times, that I can no longer willfully suspend my disbelief thus ruining my enjoyment :(
i have trouble with sci fi because i live vicariously through the main character - which is of course why i'm not fond of a male main character.
omg, i have 60 left now too.
Anne McCaffrey, Terry Goodkind, Terry Brooks earlier stuff, David Eddings belgariad universe, Terry Pratchett, Alison Croggon, Kristen Britain...
hello jasmine
are you keeping on for awhile or getting list soon?
Terry Goodkind early books, I hope ;)
she said hello auntie ruthy
SF writers: Lackey Jordan Weis s Rawn Brooks Edding Goodkind
F. paul Wilson. I like his repairman series
Agreed Atalante -- the last book was a slog to get through and made me grateful that I did not pay for the hardcover
((GW)) got my CPAP equipment today :) it's much better than I thought it would be.
I'd go for Tolkien (of course), Julian May, George RR Martin, Katherine Kurtz, most of Jude Watson's SW books, Jennifer Roberson, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Michael Moorcock, Diana Wynne Jones
and Melanie Rawn
si5/14 - the first one?
I have to admit to getting completely lost with RObert Jordan's series. The first 4/5 books were good and then he started adding too many characters and spliting them up. I found by the time I got to books 8 and 9 I couldn't remember who was who adn what they all knew
di 7/36 anyone?
I've given up oin Terry Goodkind and Robert Jordan ... I just can't get interested in their newest books
i have been recently enjoying the chronicles of narnia.
Yay for you Angel ((**Hug**)) --- see, it wasn't as scary as you thought it would be, was it? :D
sha, ruthy i only just started lol
I agree with the Jrdan books- the last 2 lost me
kimber - Robert Jordan? Greg has been reading all of those. He has been trying to get me started but I am overwhelmed by the number of volumes:-)
lol yes Tigereye - same here. exactly. and they all just go round and round and do nothing for books and books
si5/14 middle ages army surrounding a castle
I haven't read the latest Terry Goodkind one yet, I got a hundred pages in once but lost interest, again earliest are best my favourite is Faith of the the fallen though
tm 6?
The first 5 are wonderful - You should pick them up
Hey, ruthy, I just realized you finished! Good for you!
this conversation makes me think of the jane austen book club (that's a book by the way)
vp= di7 di+es5/10 (almost a woman's name) di7 di+me5/12 ( an instrument for measurement)
di7 is a person trying to lose weight with a squiggly letter dropped in
congrats, angel and ruthy!
not at all. I like the fact that it is so compact -- all of it fits into a carrying case smaller than a backpack; easily portable for travel. the mask is very comfortable also.
cnan - we had the tm a few days ago. tm+the last four letters of the ne7
Robert Jordan definitely has WAY too many charcters in his writing. It's like he wants to make sure he gives you all the info about the world as it happens so he won't fall into the "let's write another trilogy to explain the backstory of This obscure character" that other worlds have, like the various Forgotten REalms books
LeGuin, Tolkein, Stroud, Rowling... (very unimpressed with Jordan)
thanks musicmom!
tm 6 is almost a university dissertation
I really would like to kick Jordan. His first few WoT books were *so* good, now its just a never-ending mess
Evanonut one of the reasons I particularly enjoyed Alison Croggon, Kristen Britain and several of the Anne McCaffrey (Pern series) books was that the main characters were all female, makes it easier to understand them sometimes
Thanks, Musicmom -- my memory is good -- just short!
Tigernut - you'd probably like Katherine Kurtz's Deryni books then - there's a lot from the female point of view there
And the new teen SF book, Eargon and Eldest were awesome!
However, I do like the magic system of JOrdan -- though his characters are another example of people too dumb to put the facts together even with a manual printed in 20 point type :D
mi 6/24?
any hints for he6/27 or ge6/24? thanks!
loved eragon and eldest!
I don't know if you all are encouraging me with Jordan or not. I have read several Anne McCaffrey but typically don't read SF or Fant.
I have to admit to reading copious amoutns of Harry Potter fanfiction, there are some really amazing authors out there if you take teh time to search through the average lot
mi6 sounds like you are writing in ink and make a mistake
I love the idea of the Aes Sedai, and Rand was wonderful to start with. It just got so *messy* though, and so over-angsty. Rand was just - well - not something nice to read about
Tigereye, I should send you the first fantasy book I wrote, with a female main character who sings... (Obviously, not a published book! lol)
mi6 wrong writing utensil
vicuna - have you written many then?
And Mists of Avalon is one of my all time favorites!
NOn sequitur time -- it is really annoying trying to follow the log when the monitor I have is only 13 inches and everyone is typing so quickly. I post and then have to take two minutes to read what I missed, while typing a response ;D
ge6 is a word for a man with the Queen dropped in
vic - I have an unpublished book as well. Co wrote it with a friend. I think it is juvenile fiction - she thinks it is an adult book. We haven't had success finding a publisher:-)
Atlante - I agree, plus they were so spread apart- Rand, Perrin and MAtt never have contact
I've finished two and got bogged down in a third that would probably be classified as juvenile fantasy. Plus a mystery. I haven't written much since kids and, as I say, I doubt any publisher would be interested!
i think it's poll time, how many of us has written a book? * puts hand in air and looks around *
musicmom -- if you want some true advice on authors worth trying, send me an email and tell me what you like and who you have already tried :)
doesn't have to be published of course.
i edited a lot but never wrote one from scratch
for he6 extend your he4/7
Our advice isn't true GreyWould? :) jst kidding
he 5/27: plant for marijuana plus vowel and consonant, like ASP**.
Thanks GW - I may do that. I'm typically a political thriller, mystery reader. ME - Evanonut
yay, someone answered me honestly!
still need help on the si 5 = I saw the middle ages clue but didn't get it.
Atalante -- the part that drives me craxzy is that the characters can't figure out that the separation of magic along the gender lines is the direct cause of some of the spectacular results they sometimes have. :o
me no book, only poems and short stories
The only time I mind being unpublished is when I read something much worse than what I wrote, and someone did publish it!
The army lay si5 to the castle!
I haven't officially written a book, but I written in a verrry well-respected role play that's clocked up about 800,000 words over the last 2 years! So I think that should count!
i think that counts hurshy.
Love Mists of Avalon - have read it twice. I have read her other book - don't remember the title.
kimber -- you're right -- all advice is true -- I just meant undiluted by the spread of the log :)
Ata I'll have a look out for some of her books :) Vic, I'd be happy to read it if you like, my email addy is in my profile.
Thank you!
her *other* book!! *gasp* Marion Zimmer Bradley has written about 60 plus!
I do appreciate that GW - I was getting confused reading the log, looking for words, trying to keep track of authors.
Sorry Ata:-(( I told you I don't read this genre very often<g>
I suspect there's a high correlation between people who play Babble and people who write!
I haven't written a book yet, however I have the notes for at least 4, all related plus the notes for my own roleplaying system. Just never seem to have the time to expand to more than notes :\
I like you guys/gals :) I've been playing for a few weeks and just started reading the log- You all are fun!
*grins* most people wouldn't know that - I just love her books!
Has anyone read the series that has Harry Dresden (a wizard private eye) as the main character? I would have to go upstairs to see the author's name.
i'm thinking the same, it all comes back to a love of words vic.
do you rp, GW? is someone else here as geeky as me?
I've just written an 18,000 word account of my Cameroon trip for my family - but hardly a book!
must be really thick today -- can't make heads or tails of the wrong writing utinsel clue
GW - now just why wouldn't you have time? hehehee
LINGUISTIC LOVEFEST! Wheee!
oh -- just saw it -- was going in the wrong direction!
Thanks, Musicmom!
i think that is great spellit!
mm-- one of those was Fool Moon right? We have them at home, Kirsten liked them, I haven't gotten to them yet. I am busy reading the Drenai books of David Gemmell. Fantastic Stuff!!
Nan what do you use with ink? Then add mi* in front
Mi6/24 MI+ curvy cons * what you write with
oh! I forgot! Robin Hobb! Go and read if you haven't already!
i agree, evanonut--as a child I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven when I would go to my great-aunt's children's bookstore and was allowed to read anything on the shelves all day long!
music - could you please get the author's name?
obytaybe doods and doodettes, if i want my 3 day weekend i better hunker down on the rest of this w, wo, wor, WORK. have a good afternoon /bye TSM ttyl
I like Robin Hobb a lot. Especially the farseer series.. Anyone read any Diana Wynne Jones?
love Diana WJ!
love of books started in the elementary school library, my own writing has a long way to go as far as plot and character developement go.
Ata -- I have played using almost every gaming system that has been published including some very obscure ones. The only thing I don't do is LARP -- -watching fanboy vamp players running around 'obfuscated' was just to embarassing to watch to make we want to do it :)
Yes joey - brb. Jim Butcher
Off for a cuppa - back later. Byeeeee
any clue for the mi10/112...last one to find???
Yes GW - there is another due out soon. I can't wait. He is hilarious and very clever.
thank goodness! I always felt a bit too geeky talking about rp here! I don't do LARP either. Too silly. But tabletop and via the internet - probably too much and far too often!
mi10/112 clue at 7.09am In the centre of a John Wayne film
I'll have to look for that, MM.
atalante, please, i have 49 to go...what say you???
mi10 is the center section of the US . . .
im 6/27?
Okay folks - Have to focus on the grid. I have 23 words to find before Sarah gets home in an hour. Be patient if I don't answer the log.
And don't forget Chelsea Quinn Yarbro!! And now I have chatted my break away -- gotta return to the wacky world of batteries :) See folks later!! And please email about books and gaming if you like -- I haven't had a chance to truly geek out since I moved to PA -- over 18 months ago -- I have been in major withdrawal ;D
thanks, musicmom, I will look for them next time I am at the library - I read mostly mystery.
go for it, hurshy! I'm too busy discussing fantasy authors to get any more at the moment! if there's one thing I love more than babble, its fantasy books! I'll get down to 49 and list too :)
One more thing - I am so excited that both my girls love books and reading. I was afraid that I would give birth to a non-reader. I would have trouble understanding that. That is unless there was a physical reason they had trouble reading. Greg and I both read all the time.
im + Nanny Mc**** (movie with Emma Thompson)
Have you read anything by Tamora Pierce atalante? She's a good teen fantasy writer
thanks UNE...DONE..anyone need a clue before I go??
I haven't - I keep meaning to though. I love Garth Nix - have you read any of his? Teen, too, but blooming good!
congrats, Ouwachita!
Yeah I've got the abhorsen series, really enjoyed them too. I've not read any of his other books though
Thanks, Une
The fanatsy I read is almost exclusively labelled as juvenile. I just find that it's usually more interesting and better written!
(that would be *fantasy*)
Patricia McKillop is a great one for fantasy as well.
I could have used these teen suggestions yesterday. Sarah was looking for someone to read for a school project. I'm going to show her the log when she gets home.
Robin McKinley, too.
why doesn't mid make midwestern?? grr!
vic - i'm like you, however, i think it's just that i'm rather juvenile myself.
I think adult fantasy writers tend to overcomplicate things sometimes, they try to have to many characters or just too much thought processes going on. WIth teen fantasy you lose a lot of that and often get relaly well devoloped characters coming through, it helps that there's usually a happy ending of some sort too
ahem, ahem
mapendo try refreshing
map...type it again
Down to my last 4 and stumped.... em 6/21?
mmm yes, I do find many of the teen fantasy authors quite brilliant nowadays. I prefer Garth Nix, but Philip Pullman is excellent too. And of course more classics - Susan Cooper, Alan Garner ...

MM. our daughter lives in Cleveland Heights, maybe we can get some plants to you, we are in SE Michigan, Northville.
My husband would love it - less to mow:-))
but i have lost my bex
Still searching for the im6
lol, everything in my yard seems to run amok -- would rather be golfing than gardening! --- found violets growing in the middle of the lawn yesterday.
inge that would be terrific. I would be willing to buy them. All I can find here are bulbs and I would rather start actual plants.
oh, there was a good clue for that before, im+ nanny mc**** (recent emma thompson role)
music mom, you're not far at all, bet i could get some live ones to ya
I also need im 6/27. didnt get that last clue.

I even managed to make some edible food for them!
good for you, ata!
see...now you can go to bed feeling very virtuous....and such a good wife !!
I'd rather have time to babble happily and not use the list like I'm going to have to if I want to get to bed before the early hours!
what is my e, oh what oh what is my E?
Thank you vpchat and hurshy I think the eyes are going aren't they obvious when you know they are there???? Thanks for the help

Hurrah hurshy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL! We're just both as bad as each other I think!
mispent isnt a word?? That puts all off us that brag about a mispent youth in our places!!!
"thank you one and all for your kind support" - bert, mary poppins
two s's - misspent
obviously if I hadnt had a mispent youth I'd be able to spell it properly
and now i feel generous, who would like a cadbury mini egg?
ne 6/36? gotta figure the 7/52 is the plural, but I cannot figure the 6/36
ph4?
WELL DONE !!!...hurshy...thats brilliant !"!
ph4 greek letter, pl
That's what I figure, Deeha. Okay, I give... I need help with the stupid mi10...
ne6 - not niece but...
mi 10 of or relating to the states like IN, MI, WI
Thank you, Hurshy!
mi10 - halfway through we7/44
Of course! How simple (with a hint)
thank you! got it.
no mini egg fans?
9 words to go!
now if that was a real cadbury creme egg.....weeeeelll !!
the mini egg is the greatest of the easter candies. the greatest of the candies were it not for the milk dud, perhaps.
by the way....I only got 129 words to go and I havn't used the list yet !!!!!
The first si5/14, please?
hi all, does anyone have sh7/32? it's got me stumped!
no, no, the mini egg surpasses the creme egg. the creme egg is pretty good too though.
si 5/14 the castle is under si***
it is really one of my greatest sins !!!
what about a mini creme egg?
sh 7/32 add "person who does" ending to the thing you sleep on
more sh5/12
would this hypothetical mini creme egg still possess the crunchy sugar shell?
thats a good idea Atalante....why don't you suggest that to Cadbury !
if so then i might concede.
Thanks!
thank you!
you can get mini creme eggs! from most newsagents and stuff now. but no, they are just mini versions of creme eggs
hmm, they need to add the crunchy sugar shell
that would just be perfect!
I havn't seen mini creme eggs yet...but then I try not to look...but I will now
cadbury sounds like the name of a good english butler
they are really nice - not quite as sickly as big creme eggs!
wonder if you brits got them before us?
apropos of absolutley nothing....I just got our first chimnea today....any good hints out there ?
Any clues for the 10 letter or te6/27 te4/4the last one Thanx Babblers
what's a chimnea?
re chimneas: don't let the dogs wag their tails anywhere nearby. I speak from experience.
I need either the first or the second te4/6... I have short job
te 6/27 past tense of not permanent te 4/4 like last re 4/4 mi 10 - of or relating to the states like IN, MI, WI
good heavens hurshy....you can't mean we have something here you don't have better over there ?
te 4/7 get a job through a te** agency
ty vpchat...only cats here...lol
te 4/7 rhymes with the candies under discussion
well you have tony blair, karys, clearly better than bush...
te4/7??? not 6??
but please, what is a chimnea?
Thanks vpchat and hurshy but I have both of those
hurshy...the chimnea thing is like a chimney....goes on the patio and you can cook in it ...and it provides heat
we MEANT te 4/6 and there are only those 2
its Mexican apparently
you can have Tony Blair and his scrounging wife with pleasure if we can have your Bill Clinton
WHEW!! I was about to freak with 5 left... great clue with the rhymes with bit...
yay, easy sudoku today.
By all means, take Clinton! We'd be happy to pack him off somewhere else!!! What an embarrassment!!
oh, i want a chimnea! since we cannot elect clinton again according to our term limit laws, you might as well take him
re5/14, please...?
Sorry everyone I cant read my own notes its the final re4/4
please, clinton is no different from any other president, only he got caught is all.
I don't think I want any of them ...thank you so much
ok, the thing is, brits, you have to accept that your politicians can SPEAK and when they answer questions their answers REMOTELY RELATE to the question asked and that makes them better than any of ours.
you can come and share ours anytime hurshy !
he might be an embarrassment but he is quite easy on the eye which is more than can be said for Blair or Bush LOL
well then final re 4/4 is like last te 4/4
point to hurshy!
LOL Norma
norma loses a point
really? i think blair is kinda cute
the trouble is when they remotely respond they dont tell the truth - but I think all Politicians are guilty of that
i'd say bush has em all on looks, ears or no
norma - I'm worrying about your taste in men!
re5/14, please?
ugh, bush has that stupid goofy smile all the time, he's so si6ing
Hello, we have to put up with John Bloody Howard. Give me Clinton any day.
I think Bush is more attractive than Clinton. But Blair isn't hard on the eyes, either.
Sorry Katie but he is a bit better than Blair or Bush in the looks stake
I think Blair tries too hard !!
re 5/14 could also loosely be construed as rhyming with the aforementioned candies
I am back and need the first wi 6/30
clinton is all nose, kind of like me.
Hello All! How about a clue for the di 7/32 please?
Now, you all leave Bill alone. Who cares what he does under his desk... At least he's not a whacko being advised by whackos.
wi 6/30 most sage (like an owl)
at least he didn't lead us into a war we can't win
di 7/32 = di + es5
Norma - I will only give your that if it is a choose or die competition!!
jera: its live with re5/14 and Cathy Lee (er, not Cathy lee anymore?!?) anyways, then take the 2nd vowel change it to the one with a dot on it!
greetings... I knew finally my pic would be the theme
time for bed I cant get the 10 letter one and I cant figure out which I am missing I have got 209 so I am three missing - Goodnight All
Here here, Mab
hugh grant clearly made a hotter leader of a nation than any of them (love actually)
sc 7/40? the 2nd one? sc9 also?
oh dear Norma....so close.....ni night x
Hi everyone : )
now you are talking hurshy !!!
What he did under his desk was cripple the CIA and the military so we ended up with 9/11. That's unforgivable. At least Bush is TRYING to confront the issue of terrorism instead of bombing empty buildings.
I can't argue with that Hurshy
night norma - i've been away for a few days so have to keep going till I have got more points.
Hi there lola....:)
ooo, isn't hugh grant delicious?
how can you go to bed with 209/212??? what fortitude! what chutzpah! what je ne sais quoi!
Bring on Love Actually! But Colin is better. Natalie was gorgeous, though...
thanks Hurshy
loly loly loly, loly loly loly!
Where have you been Katie ?? Is your mom back I haven't heard from her yet???
mi 10: think of the states in the upper middle of USA, like Michigan, Illinois, etc.
colin firth? yummy. loved him in bridget jones.
i'm no fan of bush as a president, sorry. i've seen no convincing evidence that we are winning this war to make me feel my future sister in law should be over there.
Oh, i log on and you are talking about Colin Firth and Hugh grant. This is a lucky day!
mmmmmmm, colin firth, yummy
Gotta go for now. See ya'll later.
bye tcms :)
Hi Lola! I think we'd better stick to imaginary leaders. Like Mary Poppins.
hurshy - you've seen pride and prejudice with dearest Colin, too, i hope?
The best Darcy ever.
oops..sorry tmcs :)
I went to Germany to look at MMC houses - I have all the fun! Mum got back yesterday, things are OK for now.
I got it !!!!!!!!!!!!I got the 10 letter thanks for the clues everybody - my thick head finally got it
totally best darcy ever.
sc 7/70 is how you put cream cheese on a bagel (it's yiddish) and 9/78 is the past tense
And I'm saying that as a girl who likes girls!
how about aragorn? viggo mortensen in other roles - so-so, but as aragorn... don't you want to die and come back as the stubble on his face?
back :)
Now I need help with we 5/18
ktf - now that's a convincing argument
Bring on Liv Tyler as en elf. *drools*
mary poppins isn't real?!?!?!? : 0
let's see, did i watch that P&P, i lose track. i know i saw him in the importance of being earnest - so funny, loved the song.
Some people have all the luck Katie - Got to go or I won't get up for work in the morning, Kim and Paul are off to Majorca in the early hours - speak soon Love to all
Thanx Hurshy; had to go get the es first :-0 Yikes! Politics, what an awful subject...
Whoo-hoo! *happy dance of doneness*
*winks at evanonut* I also have a weakness for Angel
chic - pic a new subject then!
when aragorn pushes open those huge doors... i just don't think any guy will ever be able to surpass the hotness of that moment
Well, the BBC P&P is always worth watching again. I make it a point to watch once a month or so. :)
we5/18 = pl of last we4
and it's also the 10, Baron....
* winks back at ktf * - sorry luv, married.
WHO is aragorn, i'm googling
Actually, it's the 3rd one, last of the first section
*bursts out laughing* Er, that wasn't a come on... Just agreeing about the fineness of Colin Firth...
who is aragorn? how can you not have seen lord of the rings?
We 5/18 is an anagram of sw 5/18 just move the letter around
re 6/21? I have teh one which means to mi4/4 again.
I'm an equal opportunity luster, ktf, so I'll suport your liv tyler drool
hursh - right you are, didn't know his name. complete and utter hotness.
Cheers Guarana!
aragorn and the doors - I SO SO SO agree!
norma - have a good sleep. Fuggles has only just woke up so I stay up late for him - just a little spoilt!! Tell Kim & Paul to have a good holiday, lucky devils
oh great, hurshy. Now I have to go watch LotR. I'll never finish this puzzle!
jera, thanks. First time I typed that in (at noon or so) it wouldn't take it
*smiles contentedly*
I must get round to doing my LOTR:EE marathon
Will do Katie give Fuggles a hug from me
* contemplates the liv tyler thing * - sorry no, she wouldn't top my list of women.
any hints on either or both of the pe5/12 's? thanks!
sorry, didn't look at my list...I'm tired. Had a terrible nite last dreaming about Tucson Blonds (tarantulas)
pe 5/12 a pasta shape pe 5/12 to wane, slowly fade - also man's name, disowned jesus 3 times...
one of the pe5/12 words starts out like the thing you write with and is a kind of italian food.
Pe 5/12 #1- a type of pasta Pe 5/12 #1 pe*** Paul and Mary
see, chic, that's what comes of having a phobia day.
ewe chic! what about camel spiders?
What about Bird Eating spiders from QLD?
anyone have a clue for re6/21 the one that doesn't mean lax in duty?
done!
change last letter to vowel
never head of camel spiders; we had a big Tucson Blond in the house last year....
a big fat jumper is enough give me the willies.
no list ata? so fast?
Thanks Hurshy!
google camel spider chic, they're in kuwait. i've charged my future sister in law to get me a pic.
list! list! mucho list!
YAY Jera! Hi all, I'm back. Hurshy -- did you finish too?
i don't even WANT to know what all these spiders look like
I need to get some sleep ...
YAY Atalante!
thanks for the sc clues, baron! finally got it.
yes stidmama, i finished WITHOUT THE LIST!!!!
change the subject; go back to hotties like di Caprio in the 3 musketeers when he's standing in front of a big window and the moon is shining on him. Most memorable!
no list hurshy! * grabs hurshy by the arm and spins around the floor *
hi there stidmama :)
dicaprio? ugh, who wants a pretty boy.
*dizzy* why thank you nutnutnutnutnut
I agree with Hurshy about Viggo Mortenson. I happen to think my spouse looks a lot like him only less hair on top of his head... :-) And probably shorter...
Wow Hurshy, I bow to your greatness! Have some chocolate!
hi Karys!
i have mini eggs, have been sharing. what kind you got?
eeeeuuu! Gross, nut!
Okay, 36 words to find (with list), and about 45 minutes before I leave to pick up the kids...
I have some nice dark sweet chocolate bars... very smooth, very rich, VERY sinful!
ok though people should know that i accidentally missed a class i was supposed to teach while i was accomplishing this feat.
so i'm really very very bad.
no pretty boys? How about Vin Diesel?
29 to go...
Rupert Evertt is as pretty-boy as I get
i have to remember it isn't spring break anymore!!
What are you, Stid? The chocolate fairy godmother? Do we need to do an intervention here?
taht is retty bad, hurshy. WOuld they have been waiting for you the whole time?
[giggle] no, just a woman on edge...
nah, they wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes, i'd wager. only 2 kids.
they are probably happy about it bc now they will be able to tease me mercilessly about it
leverage on a teacher is always good!
we have a pretty good camaraderie.
Ok, taking a poll...who is not addicted to Dairy Queen's Mocha Moolattes?
ick, i do not do anything remotely coffee flavored.
ew. allergic to coffee!
^5 atalante!
Can I add two more names to the hotties list? Bradley Cooper and Michael Vartan. yummmmmmy.
love Bradley Cooper!
i know michael vartan, must look up bradley cooper. and THEN i must go.
oh my, they look a lot alike
I must go too ... time to go to bed and dream of Hayden - well, try to :P
wait, who was the guy in sweet home alabama?
chic -- allergic to things from cows! (which is probably a good thing...) Bye Atalante! Bye Hurshy!
are you thinking of Josh Lucas?
yes, josh lucas also hot.
ok, bye all!!!
or the Grey's Anatomy guy- Patrick dempsey
no... josh harnett. yikes.
bye from me too! *hugs all*
bye atalante and hurshy!
no no not dempsey, lucas me like.
really bye!
hay, back but cooking, had a phone call, sorry about just 'up and leaving' -
hi kids.
I need a clue for te 7/36 please
add a couple of letters to your te5.
hi boreetos. inge te 7/36: one who tries to get you to do something you shouldn't...
do you have the te7/40? It's the person that does that.
hi stigmata!
thanks, I already had it and didnt cross it off.
guarana, got lots of words from that clue - thanks!
chic - where'd you go?
cliffopa- I've started just adding those letters to the end of every word I get... even if it doesn't seem possible. Same with the letter that pluralizes. (how's that for verbification?)
love verbification. i'm still only a weekinto babble land so i'm just learning all the tricks.
I'm here; no one liked DQ's mocha moolatte? What's wrong with that?
chic -- I would like it if I could breathe after even one bite... :-(
don't like coffee, now what is gross chic?
i love the smell of coffee.
do you think anything from DQ actually has any real food in it besides sugar?
chic- I think I would like it, too. Except in my part of the woods we have Tim Horton's: the best donut shop ever and they have iced cappocinos which I get when it's warm.
Gross was the pics of that camel spider.....
no chic, i think it's against their mission statement
oh yeah, aren't they friggin nasty? and they run right at you in the desert.
DQ has good hot dogs.. I don't think they have sugar. but can't be certain
boreetos, i lik the smell too, but not the taste
My point exactly; it's the guilty pleasures or whatever store I can drive up to their window....
exactly. smell good. taste evil.
guilt, what guilt? if we weren't meant to eat it we wouldn't be able to buy it, right?
for me to drink coffee, I have to add so much sugar and cream it tastes like hot chocolate
anyone have the last two ch's on the list? the 6/30 and the 4/6?
just guessed the 4. so just the 6/30 then
ch - 6/30 is a plural, 4/6 is greek letter(s)
what comes before the 6/30? plural
tai ch** and the 6 is plural, many apes
plural of ch 5/18
I am clueless on the im 6/27. help anyone?
can't believe i didn't see that one. thanks. :)
I'm so tired.. I'm not getting the ge 5/14 and the ge 6/24 right after it
im6/27.. saw this clue earlier: im+ the movie nanny mc****
thanks guarana! That got it!
GE 5/14 -- a type of literature...romance, horror, mystery, etc
Hi everyone!
hi deutsch
hey d. bye d. I gotta go kids, you all have a great weekend. I'll see you again on Monday.
okay, running out to fetch the kids. BBL...
could someone give me a clue for ch 7/ 40?
oh -- hi Deutsch! bye!
bye boreetos! have fun! cute kitty, cliffopa. Yours?
Ch7/40 past tense of first 5/14
thanx, evanadine, took me long enough to see it!
my kitty today was my best bud Sydney - but he went to kitty heaven a couple years ago. i just love his goofy face.
oh, sorry... the second ch7/40
Cliff, he's adorable. Maybe Sydney is playing with my kitty, Micah who went to kitty heaven on Thanksgiving.
i don't even want to think of my kitties going to kitty heaven, ever.
sorry don't have that one yet
deutsch, so sorry. do you have more furry friends?
Cliffopa, Yes, he left behind an adopted sister, Hester. She was devasted her "big brother" died. she' a cute little black and white. And you?
Evening All How goes it?
Hopefully, evanonut, your kitties will live long happy lives. Hi Sheryl!
hey deutch
Guarana- It's the robe Anglican bishops wear- chi + one of the me4/5's.
hows the puzzle, killed me yesterday, had to give in with 33 words left, it sucked the will to live right out of me
4 vowels, 212 words
deutsch - after Sydney, i had no cats for several months (lost 4 in 4 years to various illnesses.) then i adopted 2 himalayans (casper and beethoven.) then last year i got zoey. I also have a chow.
happy word hunting sheryl
thank you, marymary! That did it!
same to you cliff
cliff, I needed to wait a while after gianna died. I love chows. they have such unusual tongues. We have a large pit bull mix named Amos
i think ive only got about 9 of the 20 7s
Sheryl, this one seems a little easier than yesterday's, but I still have only 100! LOL
my chow was considered 'defective' because his nose was not black and parts of his tongue are pink. can you believe he was going to be put down because of that? ridikolus!
ill have to finish this one when i get home...back to work
can anyone help with the es 5/10?
Thanks, Guarana, I finally got your clue. That is ridicolus, Cliff! We got Micah the day before he was to be put down. Amos was also a rescue.
i love rescues. that's all i've had since the 1980's.
evening all! ANyone got a clue or ANYTHING about the biggest word?
hi liana - it appears that even though i am one, i don't live there !
middle of the USA Illinois, indiana, iowa, wisconsin...
Hi liana The 10 is an adj. describing such states as Indiana, Iowa, Illinois
add we 7/44
iowa is a mi******** state
Heleln, Howdy! I'm a Hoosier!
uh..well, *feeling really stupid* I am one but dont live there...ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
deu -you're my neighbor - i'm in illinois
mi/10
I prefer rescues, also. My mom has a purebred Dalmation and a rescued one. And I don't have the es! Sorry!
im in illinois too
cliff - we have a part chow that was left wandering the highway as a pup - how could anyone drop off something so fuzzy cute in such a dangerous place?
Holy Smokes!!! I got it, thanks~ bunches
if i am a mi* + we 7/44, then i ought to be living in the mi + we 4/8 - but is won't accept that - weird !
Hey, Kimber! I used to work in LaSalle-Peru area. My Dad and his family live in Ottawa. (I'm in baltimore, MD now)
Im in champaign Urbana
hey kimber ! whereabout? i am in chicago, but have friends in most parts of the state
i don't know ev - there are a lot of people who just don't care. i hope there is a special place in he** for them.
i see the talk is about dogs..i have a rescued yellow lab/chow..she is adorable..and the BEST dog..she rarely barks..and her tail is this huge auburn plume..
helenkeller- i think it's the crazy adj. vs. noun rule
Deutsch- I'm originally from NW Indiana- da region
deut - i have friends who live in canton - their mailing address if cuba, ill - their phone bills says peru - lol
my dog has barking fits. he hates squirrels and chipmunks and a few of them are torturing my poor chow.
well kimber i guess that's just yet another rule i'm not familiar with :)
Helen, LOL Guarana, I grew up in southern IN, Greensburg, with the world-famous tower tree. At least the bill board says it is. more LOL
ours hates two words, hello and hairball.
evan, I actually did LOL
dogs are so funny/weird. if i say "Dunkin Donuts" he gets all excited. same with "peanut butter"
deutch - you dropped off an animal?
lived in Seymour and Bloomington for awhile, too. so not too far away!
Guess who's barking now. If he doesn't stop, I'll have to bring him in.
deut - i lived for a while in southern ill & sorry to say never heard of your famous tower tree - but i bet it's cool, cause that part of the country is so beautifull & not flat like the rest of this corn-filled state !
GOOOOOOOD Afternoon everybody!!!!
donster, interesting - very interesting
my dog is actually on a leash attached to my chair. its the only way to calm him down other than give him a pill. (don't like to give him drugs)
true helen. Hi The donster! drop off dog? Maybe to the vet's...
buddy is the opposite, a gentle little gentleman
evan, he sounds precious!
like i said, my dog is considered "defective"
although the Dog Whisperer (on National Geographic TV) would probably say i'm the problem.
if anyone needs the es 5/10 just think about the TV show the Addams Family and uncle F*****
hello everyone
Hi Baily, thanks, cliff
only fe name i can think of was the guy on gunsmoke..
Liana, That was my Dad's fav show. Every Monday night...
Oh, and that's the name.
another es 5/10 clue relates to an upcoming holiday (think bunnies) but take out an a
I need clues for both em words, please.
lol, i guess you could call me mom, then deutch..i watched it TOO..as a young adult of childbearing age..LOL
if you have ne 7/31, take of the first consanant for em 6/21
Grr babble has deleted words I put in earlier
thank you, cliffopa . I got both from that clue.
Ok, Mom!
HA..go to your room and surrender the computer~~~~!
yw guarana. it's great being able to give clues. it takes some talent tho (which i'm still working on)
ok, all this dog talk is making me feel guilty - we are having the most gorgeous day today so i think i'll take 2 for a walk, hmmm, maybe the 2 girls - bbl
it was almost 80 here..and the computer is upstairs..where its hotter than Hades..damned if I turn on AC..gets down in 40s tonight..i think I will go out on the porch and abandon this game..TOO HOT
it was a beautiful day in NH ... no coat necessary
aw, Mom, just 10 more minutes!
evenin babblers :)
OKay, but only because I love you, and youre my BEST girl..
I evanadine! Have fun, Helen! bye Mom!
Love you too! (((Lianakate)))
OMG..i am dying here with the heat upstairs..later, all..
work has been so WORKful lately... kept me away from the babbling!!
cliffopa, I live with someone who grew up in Nashua, NH. Pretty country up there.
evening all
Hi Scatty!
how are you getting on
I love NH. I live 1+ hour north of Nashua. ski area in the back yard practically, a very large lake 2 miles away, lots of outdoor activities. the ocean is just an hour away. too many tourists in the summer tho.
scatty, I've found a measly 112 words. Oh, well. I've enjoy the chat, though. Animals lovers are good people.
Sounds great, cliffopa. We usually visit family once a year, and yes, during summer.
i'm missing an hi. got the one that sounds like what a snake says.
I'm getting the pitiful bark. I better go. someone will be home soon, so I'll sign off for the night. good luck and happy babbling, everyone!
bye deutsch.
just missed you Deutsch! I'm back for the last 9...
areyou coming back later deutch

cliffopa - hi4/5: replace the first of the double consonents with a vowel
hi all!
thanx G. got it!
good evening! Working on my "last" 50
hi reb. i'd say "let's race" but you're ten ahead of me.
Yes, but I'm slooow
hi again rebekb!
Hi stidmama! I didn't fnish yesterday, just not enough time
Yes, jeffer didn't finish either... but yesterday was a really tough one. I think you'll do okay today!
I like this one, lots of long words :)
Yes, and words that build on other words -- that's just the best for me!
Evenin' and I am back for another go at this before my munchkin wrestles the laptop back from me!! :))
evenin jen :)
-------jen!---------
hi Jen! How was dinner last night?
wow, that went a lot quicker than I expected. done... finito... geendet... terminado... over. I'll be around while I get other things accomplished, though...
evening, everyone.
Mmmmm, chicken/mushroom quesadilla... fantastic! :) Tonight I opted for a roasted beef tenderloin sandwich with provolone and au jus... I am really not being creative with hubby gone!
Congrats stidmama! ******
woo hoo stiddy armana
WTG stidmama!!!
having problems with another one: th6/21. Any clues, please?
th 6/21 something most graduate students have to submit before graduating
Hi! I'm back. Got about 1 hr till it's time to head to the airport.
th 6/21: what a grad student writes to finish their degree; definite article + short form of female sibling
d'oh! thank you stidmama and cliffopa!
hi gromit
any hints for the 9 or 10?
re6/18 and re7/28? Please??
Hi Cliffopa!
Hi gromit! Where ya goin? :) evaN... Nebraska is considered a mi10 state.
I'm at 150 words, but it has beaten me again. I must get to bed now.
thanks jen! anything on the 9 or one of the 8s?
anyone got a hint on the ne 6/36? i'm stalling out. yesterday's grid fried my brain.
Going to Las Vegas, NV for my son's soccer tournament (not a mi10 state). LOL!
I did manage the 9 and 10, but only one of the 8's
cliffopa - it's not your niece, but...
cliff - your sister's(or brother's) son
evaN, when you go down to the cafeteria and get something other than cereal with un-opened milk... you might get a bagel sch.... with cream cheese. ;)
ummm.. cream cheese
thanks to the G's for the clues.
guar - was that a question or were you thinking you love cream cheese?
sorry.. I'm thinking about cream cheese.. and how I need some with a blueberry bagel
I hate re's. why do there always seem to be so many?
LOL! I love honey almond sc7/40.
cliffopa- me, too! I have all of the re's still and most of the me's. I don't know what it about them.
Sorry all, was distracted for a moment... good night ExWren
I agree Cliffopa. We all need ExWren's icon!
thanks, gromit. I'm off to the grocery store now!
i can help with me's - got them all
I have the re's -- don't know what they all mean, but I can still give clues!
does anyone have an easy clue for the mi10
can anyone help with re6/18 and re7/28?
how about re 7/32?
scatty - a group of states in the middle of the USA.
re 6/18: what you put into milk to make cheese, 7/28 is plural
re 7/32: plural of 6/21, re + mi 4/5
mi 10 - 1st 3 letters mean 'at the center' rest of the word is the type of movies coyboys are the main characters
still dont get it
scatty to have we4/6?
Thx for cheese clue SM, I needed that too
scatty -- mi* (short for in the center) + a type of film with cowboys
sorry, I meant we4/8.
cliffopa, now that is the kind of clue i like, i have been trying to get that word for hours, thanks
scatty, if you are in Europe, America is in what direction?
T Y sid - my last re's. Dear Dr. God, No more re's. Ever!!!!!!!!!!!! XOXXXXO, gr omit
sorry scatty, didn't see that you got it already
think how short a grid would be without r or e!
thanks for the clues
That was supposed to be a T Y to stidmama.
AAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHHH... I hate looking for clues this late in the night because chat goes waaaaaaaaay too slow (and firefox locks up)... so what I am looking for is the di7 clues (both please and thank you)
someone give her the clues fast, she's scaring me.
de5/16, anyone?
di7 - di + (What the electric company reads each month)
2nd di 7 is di and a type of measure (we have yards the rest of the world uses *****)
hi everyone!!!!
yerg.... can't give de clues till.... I... get... through... blasted... di words.....
di7=di+ what they read to pay gas bills or water bills
de 5/16 - some fishermen use a de 5/16finder to locate where the fish are hiding
Hi peri! Jen, Kraj just gave the perfect di clue.
hi peri. you're my favorite color.
sw7: what wipers do
HI, cliff, it is my favorite color too.
cliff - Thanks! I hate it when the word is so obviously there. Makes me feel dim!
whimper... everyone is givin' clues to the 2nd di7 and I can't figure out the 1st one... :/
we are all in the same boat gromit!
this clue will probably be confusing for the di 7/32, but go with it. 1st 3 letters - beatles/paul mccartney song "live and let *** next 4 letters....many baseball players have been accused of using ****oids
gromit, just read your prayer... trust me, this was an easy RE!!!! wahhhhhh ahahahahahahaha! RE's and numbers (going off my anti-sudoku stance) are EVIL!!!!!
cliffopa YOU ROCK!!!
* leans towards gromit * "i say, i always though that jen one was a bit off her rocker"
i'm so happy to help!
great clue for di thanks
Jen - you're right! I think yesterday's grid had more re's. Thx Cliff - I needed that di7 too.
**whispers to evanout** I must say I think you're right... LOL!
{{{sigh}} {{sits in corner}} nut... usually have finished grid loooong before this and panicking (b/c of our bedtimes)... also have had 2 vodka tonics (hey, it's finally spring!!)
my turn again. anyone got a clue for the 1st re 6/21?
* whispers back to gromit * - think we should sit next to her in that corner? is it safe?
vodka.....tonic.....that would be perfect right now. all i have is 'lite' beer. i hate beer flavored water.
cliff - re + a person who doesn't like to spend money, a mi***.
re 6/21 it's hard to _miss_
**whispers back** absolutely, maybe she'll share her gin and tonic...
tsk tsk ba - your hint held a (word)
Hey nut, quit makin' fun of me. ;( And the corner is a very nice place to be.... very cozy...
* takes gromits arm * you take this side, i'll take that.
sorry, first time. do not know the protocols
yuck to the gin and tonic....
Jen *crosses arms on chest* - i would NEVER make fun of you, you're my jen friend, my babble buddy, my something or other...
Whoo-hoo!! I am DONE. Woot! and all that. :-)
**sits on one side** oohh! it's vodka, not gin!
Welcome Ba!!!! No real protocols, ask away! there are 212 words today. Jump right in to the madness LOL
yay knutmeg!!
* sits on other side * WHAT no whisky, i've been snookered.
Go knut! Did we ever find out what WOOT meant?
took me a bit gromit, but finally got the hint.
cliff - still honing my clue-giving skills. sorry!
This is NOT a good time for an intervention nut amd gromit!! I am soooo close to finishing! (and YES, I have 25 YO Aberlour Wiskey for anyone who helps me finish)
it was a great clue, i'm just slow tonite.
**whispers to Jen** I'm never going to finish if I don't quit screwing in the corner drinking vodka.
* hauls gromit with her * - ends vs. means gromit, i'm thinking that jen one is a little too volatile for the risk tonight.
lol, besides, i wouldn't want the hubbynut to catch me "screwing" in the corner.
And I am never going to figure out the lat di4/5 if gromit keeps making me laugh!!
thanks, so far i have 51 words (six seven's.....)
er... *sheds light on geekinss* Woot: Woot originated as a hacker term for root (or administrative) access to a computer. However, with the term as coincides with the gamer term, "w00t". Also stands for We Owned the Other Team, and is an sound which expresses excitment- guinea pigs and other small rodents make that noise.
LOL!!!!!!! Jen which di4/5?
I love it! Thanks knut!
:-) you're welcome. When all else fails... ask the geek.
hey everyone - back from dog walk, going to squeeze in a few before ball & chain comes home
LOL! evanout - maybe "screwing" was a bad choice of words?
duuuuuuudes, seriously I have had 2 vodka tonics tonight and I am not volatile because I will have to "focus" on Power Rangers in about 3 minutes with my little munchkin and well.... I am just honestly havin' fun playing with you all tonight. Thanks! I needed something to perk me up (hubby's been gone since Jan)
Back to busines. **clears throat** Second di5/14??

YAY Cliffopa!!!
thank you thank you thank you G
YAY cliffopa! I knew you could! I knew you could!
If I go PRO, will I learn what ge4 means?
If you want to know what a word means, click on the "?" next to it - opens a new window with a dictionary site.
one of the best things about babbling is the sense of relief when you finish!
et4/5 - if it is an obvious one I will probably kick myself :)
ge 4 is a shorthand way of saying that there is a four-letter word beginning with the letters "ge" -- being pro gets you a stat-tracker so you know how many words there are and how many you have left - and the ability to add cool icons to your screenname. It also helps support this site...
us new englanders do not like to give up or give in.
nevermind, found the et4
I know.. the finishing totally negates the frustration of yesterday's puzzle.
et 4/5: is a plural , the third letter is a tall humped consonant
nite, all!
good night Guarana!
ET4 - as if someone with a lisp were pronouncing the letter 's'. "A letter appearing in Old English, Old Saxon, Old Norse, and modern Icelandic to represent an interdental fricative."
Is there a way to see how many words other have?
wi6/30?
me going to bed. 2.5 hours before turning in last night. more energy for tomorrow's grid.
WI6/30 - the most smart.
Okay Charm -- either you're a trained linguist or you used a dictionary... "interdental fricative," indeed!
good night cliffopa! see you tomorrow!
Yes, I did a stint in linguistics as an undergrad - before I wised up and decided I needed to do something which would earn me money. I used the dictionary!
hi thedave -- no I don't think so, most of us sort of just tell the rest how we're doing...
WOOT!!! Finally done!! Thanks to all who were gining me last minute help! I <3 you guys!
wi6/36?
thanks for the wi 6/30
g'night cliffopa! :)
WI6/36 - past tense of the WI4/9 meaning " small bunch or bundle, as of straw, hair, or grass."
YAY Jen! Good job.
Do most of you who "Finish" use the dictionary?
I don't know. Some people seem to just know a lot of the words already! Some of us ask for clues from other players, and some use other resources, including dictionaries, Google...
Was hoping to get at least 150 but am stopping at 136, really tired of sitting at the computer, see you all tomorrow
PlayWoman - I cheat. I do all i can on my own. Then go to Babblers Anon to see what I can fill in. If I'm still stumped, I use a2zwordfinder. And as a last resort, beg for help from fellow babblers.
periwinkle, 136 is good -- you don't spend nearly as much time on this as I do! Way to go -- good night...
Thanks for the confession, Charm.
playwoman try AngelSong in rightcolumn
Thanks, stoningtoncat. I woncered what those "friends" things were for.
bye, peri. Maybe tomorrow will be a short grid. =8-)
playwoman, I'll be honest, I use a 2-letter list (BJ's), just to help me place everything in order (and some would call this cheating). I try to use just the clues from fellow babblers, but sometimes it's just huge (hello?!?!!? 350 words?!?!!?) and I don't want to kill my ranking, so I'll use a2z...
sweet dreams peri!! :) Have a good evening!
Thanks , Jen. I guess I enjoy the game more if I do it without help, but the, again, I guess I'm notlearning any new words, am I?
playwoman use Babblers anoynmous, stats for list
Playwoman, you'll find as you play that there are many uncommon words that seem to crop up often. And there are the 'tricks' - plurals and past tense and latin endings which you learn to recognize.
Eh, it's all up to you how you play, playwoman, honestly. I have been playinf crosswords for about 20 years and still am finding new words here! I don't feel like I am cheating myself because I am still learning.
I knew Rota was a town in Spain (shit, I LIVED on the yacht club there), but I never knew it could be a babble word! :)
Jen, et al.-I agree with you about learning. I've only been at this a week, so I'm sitll enjoying trying it on my own.
Hey all, I need to take a break from sitting. Be back for the flip!
Bye stidmama! I'll hopefully see ya tomorrow!
BTW stid.... where in Wash state are you? I have tons of friends there...
nite-nite, stidmama.
Jen, we live about 15 minutes from the state capitol, in a semi-rural area of Thurston county....
sc 6 and 7 combo? (have the bagely ones)
SC6 - a devious plan or plot. SC7 - one who devises the devious plan or plot.
thanks charm
Jus' checkin'... my best friend lives in Oak Harbor and I also have a life-long friend in Sammamish... Oh, and my cousin is in Seattle... surprising i haven't visited yet LOL! :) nite-nite stid! :)
a good villain always has an awful sc6 to abduct the heroine from her guardian and swindle her.
yw, LeslieAnn.
I'm such a rookie. Taking a break at only 67 words...
everyone seems to have nodded off....
thanks for the SC SC
nope, just the end of csi :)
hi all --- is there a clue for the 10 letter word?
I am heading off to bed.... thanks for all the clues fellow babblers! Have a great night all! :)
good old mi******** values
Night, Jen.
MI10 - IL, IN, MO, KS are mi10 states.
Playwoman, I'm with you - haven't gone to the list yet, so am still at 45 words...we'll get there.
is anyone having problems with their points updating? Just wanting to know if it's the computer I'm on or babble itself
Sorry, Ellocin - finished earlier, so not an issue with me.
mi10 - It is the opposite of mideastern.
ty, babble is slow to update tonight
it looks like it's lagging a bit just in the chat
make that a lot
9-letter clue, anyone?
sc9/78 - past tense, how you spread cream cheese on a bagel.
sc9 - past tense of what you do with cream cheese on a bagel. tell me if that doesn't work and i'll break it down
Thanks LA -- just getting back on for the day and finally I get the clue -- what a stupid word!
leslie ann, can you break it down?
GW! Been a while. How's the latest addition?
ok. sc 9 - first three letters the same of where you get an education + a me** mortal, switch last two letters (that's a 7) + two letters for past tense
any clues for the tm 6/21 word?
Hi Charm (((((***Hug***))))) Be quite awhile!! Seb is doing great -- he is now 12 pounds and growing. He just had is 1st round of immunizations two days ago. And his sister is still ecstatic to have him around :)
tm + vowel + opp. of bro.
the tm was in the grid just the other day --- similar ending as the ne7
tx, Charm!
awesome, thanks Charm
GW - 12 pounds already? You must be doing everything right if his sister is still happy!
wow...i think i should call it a night. I still can't figure it out even after the breakdown! Thanks, though
hey all, thanks for the great clues - this is my first week, and I am hooked. Toddler wants a bath, but I'll be back tomorrow!
yw, yw. Just sitting here - not in the mood to read tonite. Thinking of getting up for a snack, though....
I try, Charm -- the biggest challenge is to make her understand that even though it seems like I am spending more time with him because he is little and helpless, she is still important and has the priority on my attention much of the time :)
taterlover -- does that mean your little 'un is a Tater tot? ;D
thanks for the clue; babble is taking about a minute between letters, so I'm oudda here; must be too much traffic...
haha ash, how bout this? first three letters of where you get an education + ** myself and i + 2nd vowel + r (then past tense)
GW - I know how tough a juggle that is because I'm the eldest of 2 and resented my sister even into my teens. It's only after we moved out that we became friends. So keep up the great work!
GW, I love it when people understand that we are taters (of course, from Idaho). Love this game, and all the people here.
I will, Charm :) Now to see how many more words I can find before I pass out from exhaustion --- only have 44 on my list :)
brilliant! Thank you :-)
GW - once you see the patterns, it'll go fast. Will be here for a little bit if you'd like clues....
stidmama ???
Glad to meet you, taterlover -- now go make your tot happy and clean -- And we will see you tomorrow (or maybe later...?)
jeffer - I don't think she is on now.
GW Buddy! {{{Hugs}}} Long time, no 'cuzzi. Too much work, not enough life! Good to hear about the little guy and gal. How 'bout you?
hi diane - thanks
man, this sure is a saucy one today!
((**JB**)) -- I am a fairly happy exhausted daddy :D Hopefully I will hear within the next 6 weeks that I am being taken on as a permanant hire and I will graduate to very happy status ;)
GW - long time no talk. I see all is well withthe kids - that's great. Did I read that you recently started a new job?
((**Dianne**)) - How are things on your side of the globe today?
GW - things are great - TGIF day and looking forward to a nice, relaxing weekend.
Dianne -- I started a new temp position the week after Seb was born -- it's a calculated risk, but Lenscrafter's was no longer coming close to satisfy my financial needs
Oh, that's WONDERFUL - I wish you...um, wait, I think it's in the grid tonight...yup, there 'tis! I wish you pe4/6 status!
GW - if your liking the new job I'll keep my fingers crossed that it become a permanent one (good benefits?).
JB - wi4 is in the grid too ;D JB said a word! JB said a word!!
And welcome to all the new babblers in/on the log tonight! I started back in November, and check in at least once a week. Stats, well, I really only go for the grids of 150 words or less, OR try for half of the words on a larger one (tonight i'm shooting for 106....words, not points!)
Dianne -- not the best benefits, but pretty good ones from what I have been told
OOOOOO dang it! I even said it twice! Good catch, G!
<sticks tongue out at GW> Try to make me say the mi10/112!
*smug look* I already have it! So, nyaah! :p
GW - what kind of work is it? Close to home?
I work for a forklift battery company -- I started out in the shop doing repairs and maintenance, but they brought me into the office last week so now I help coordinate the dispatching of the techs to perform repairs as well as enter the billings for the repairs. It is the first ever non retail job I have ever had!!
That's a good look on you, G! <smirk!> :]
GW - non-retail - then that means you have the weekends off, right? It sounds like a good opportunity.
Once you know how to fix the copier and make the best coffee, they just gotta hire you! <glances side to side, checks to make sure none of these words are in the grid tonight>
Yep -- though I still work one day on the weekends at Lenscrafters. My hours during the week are 7:30 - 4 so I get the entire evening to spend with the family as well :)
Well. I've got to get some work done - I'll check back in late. Have fun.
So long, Dianne (*Hug*) -- I will see you tomorrow -- I am not gonna make it to the flip tonight -- too tired
Hello all, I need a clue for mi6/24 any clues
'Nite, Diane! I've got one more word to get to 106, then I have to write out my rent check, and go to bed.
stuck on the same one, marc...
GreyWoulf and Diane, glad to see you tonight -- I wondered if you knew each other! hi all! Just stopping by quickly while I do some comptuer work...
MI6/24 - mi + consonant + writing stylus (to write wrongly?).
AAahhh!! Too many te's!!!!
mi 6/14 to " write wrong "
GW - the te's are actually easy!
Marc and LeslieAnn -- mi 6/24: when you waste your life, it's a life mis******... - t
thanks charm, jeffer
Hey stidmama -- (*hug*) Dianne is the first person I ever had a prolonged chat with on the log, back when I started back in October :)
and stid
GW -- most of the tes actually come from the second te 4/6...
If you say so....
stidmama since you worked so hard in vain last night - wanna try again? only two tonight ...
GW, think of the current status of your job...
jeffer, how you doing tonight?
whoa. do you mean you only have two? or (I hope) the opposite...
great see the 10:02?
Hi, stidmama, great clue, but my "box" is not accepting it as a word. "refresh!"
well i said two but i was weong it's three! to go th 6/21 ? please?
okay, so bring me up to speed... I have about 5 minutes.
jef -- you write one at the end of your time at university
TH6/21 - dissertation.
th 6/21 - your final project for a degree
th 6/21: what Nat is halfway finished writing for her Master's! next...
i was wrong about that too ( not weong) ne 6/36 ne 7/52 please?
not your niece
ne 6/36: not your niece
ne 7/52: lots more of 'em!
how did i miss that? ty leslie and stid!
great minds, stid
NE6/36 - your brother/sister's son.
JB -- it's not going into mine either. spelling error?
yw ... long grid!
there is only one s in the mi6 word
I got lots of nieces & ne7/52 - my oldest brother has 8 kids! 4 & 4, very even...all names start with "E"
mi 6 (trying again): what you call an unmarried young woman - the second s + something you write in ink with
got it! thank you
thanks stidmama such simple ones! ty charm, also
absolutely, LeslieAnn! how's the chocolate holding out? Do we need a refill? I have some great hot cocoa mixes...
so jeffer -- do you get applause now?
Stidmama - it's too warm for hot cocoa. how's about some choc. mousse or pudding?
Ash, I see now. Hi, LeslieA! I'm going to have a mi (short spelling) 6/24 old age if I don't get off this game and go to bed!
stidmama i'd like to dedicate this finish to you - for the great effort on yesterday's grid that turned out to be in vain since i was compelled to watch Idol ....
how about both? mousse on top of pudding -- with chocolate-fudge sauce on top!
ha jeffer, so the truth comes out!
and so lose 30 precious minutes of clue receiving time so that i missed by just 17 words !
<sleepily waves hand up in the air> Did someone say chocolate? <yawn> Must...stay...awake...for...ch ocolate.......
Stidmama, a woman after my own heart! =8-)
YAY JEFFER! (couldn't help shouting) good for you
ty ty
be careful, jb, if you don't stay awake you're likely to wake up with some on your face :)
OK, the te's did go pretty quick , though I cannot seem to find the 6/18
Jeffer, is Idol one of those programs one must be glued to every moment? Or can you watch it with one eye while you monkeytype? (obviously, I'm not a fan....)
okay, I really need to get back to work. one more clue for someone before I go?
these kids are pranksters, you never know what they're gonna do
em 4 and em 6...anyone?
te6/18 - 2 $5 bills = 1 te6.
Jeffer, I feel your pain! One night I had ONE word to go with one minute left to the flip, and despite the mighty effort of many clue givers, I missed it by one lousy re4/4 word. Nothing like almost making it! I felt like a silver medalist...
unfortunately it's a question of two different rooms, charm but we have patched things up ...
te 6/18 is a stupid word: if you change out two five dollar bills, you might get a te****; sounds like male singer, but double consonant in the middle
Got it and the T's are grey :)
good for you GW! (((hug)))
JBsA do you know of any support groups?
em 4 - add two letters to make a plural; em 6 - add the verb for "to be"
Jeffer - you 'must' go wireless - laptop and modem and internet and printer. I will never go back to being tied to a desk.
em 6: means throwing up/vomiting, ends in three letter nickname for female sibling. em4: drop the last two letters of 6
okay, that's it for now. I'll be back for the flip!
thanks, leslieann!
later, Stidmama....
yw ash bye stid!
thanks again stid
Forgot to say thanks for the clue on mi6/24 got it.
Right here on this log, Jeffers! Or did you mean for A-Idol?
Hello people. How many words tonight?
see you tomorrow, stidmama (*Hug*)
i can't see Babble justifying a laptop at this stage, tho
but really, the laptop would be justifying american idol... and that's ok, right?
212 words today
212, schwer
good evening!
Jeffer - it's one of those things that once you've tried it, you wonder why you didn't do it aeons (a lovely babble word) ago. Imagine this: laptop, sunny day, baby & dog, poolside.
no, the hapless victims of life who only miss by a few ..
OK. TIme me!
hey nat you were just a clue
Well, boys and girls and wolves <grin>, I'm past my goal of 106 (got to 113 with stid's last clue), so must bid you all a very good night of happy hunting Babbling! {{{GW}}}, good thoughts for your job going "pro!"
ok ready go!
leslieann you are a genius that line might work! lol
really???
uh huh at 10:05 for the th 6/21 word
Charm - don't you mean 'cuzzi' side? oh no, look out <YAWN!!> Sorry 'bout that, I'm getting too sleepy!
seems 'gert' isn't a word. i like gert, it has good mouthfeel. how do i get it appointed a new and tasty word?
g'night jb!
charm - we'll see. if leslieann's sc 6/27 works ...
JB - no cuzzi. sorry.
Done! 122 words!
first we should define it. i think gert should be a pleasant old lady. as in, "What a nice gert, she gave me a tip for helping her to her car with the groceries."
'Night, everyone! <passes LeslieAnn some *slightly* melted chocolate on the way out>
aww stid, you used me in a clue, I feel so loved!!
Oh no. My dyslexia got the better of me. Nevermind, I give up.
Ok, boys & girls. Time to log off. See y'all tomorrow.
JB! did you give me the chocolate that you accidentally sat on??
night charm ty
hey schwer, 122 in 4 minutes, you should be done in no time (nat i think stid left)
last sw5/18?
LeslieA - I would *never* sit on chocolate, accidentally or not! I just, um, had it in my pocket for later, yeah, yeah, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Night! for real now!
oh nevermind, I still feel loved though
sw5/18 - if you're from Geneva, Zurich, ....
any clues on the im words?
hmmmm.... *sniffs chocolate* smells OK... *looks at chocolate under light* looks OK... *listens to chocolate... tick, tick, tick* oh no it's a BOMB! *throws out window, sees massive explosion* i KNEW jb wouldn't be giving away free chocolate...
think little devils
thanks, getup! got one
ty Charm -- this would definitely go faster if I didn't keep catnapping between posts :)

getup, you are a good man, even if you are a hawkeye. did you send in your pic for the montage??
I'm afraid I didn't. There are only so many people that I want to see that. :)
what montage?
what did you use for a head?
getup, I think I am in love with you, any man who can pull off a strongbad look is # 1 in my book
i seem to remember a montage of people dressed up as homestar and friends for halloween. um, but i could have made that up. i thought it was in weekly fanstuff.
I resorted to using a kids-sized red ski mask...Worked out alright. Had some ginormous blow-up boxing gloves I got from a thrift store that turned out much better.
you are right leslie, it was, and it was great
oh.. I don't get to the homestarrunner site on a regular enough basis
i don't know where to look for it now, though
grey, you are a fan too, I knew I liked you right from the start!
:D
Leslieann I got the one about the movies. It is the other two I need. Don't understand the duck clue. My computer is acting up so every now and then I have to reboot it.
oh ok. animals that are like ducks, and quack: ge*** change the last e to a t
it's like a really big duck, starts ge singular is what you say when you pinch someone on the but
other one, add an e to a ge 4/6 (that sounds like company you have over)
okay guys...quitting time for me. have a good night!

sc 7/40: to besmirch someone's name; a sc***** campaign in politics sc 9: past tense of 7/40
great clue di!!! thank you thank you thank you all!!
so Marc -- did you finish, or ...?
nat, if you take the we 7/44 (end of the 10), lose the n and make it past tense, you'll have another 8
the other 8 is a plural of de 6/24, i think another name for skin, epi******
thanks, didn't know that was a word
I am only missing 1 c and 1 p, but I don't know which one, I don't keep track with the stats....hmmmm I want to find that darn c and p
not total, just in those categories, I have like 105 still to find
Nat any idea how long they will be once you find th 4/6?
there's a funky ch 7/40 that adds an e on the end of a 6
also a ps 4/5 - ps + form of the verb "to be"
I have that p, not sure about the ch, still looking

night big word
i think she meant if you figured out which specific ones they were she would give you a clue
oh, I haven't figured out the best way to use the stats page yet, I am thinking the way you did it by putting in word is probably what will work, but haven't gotten there yet
i think mr. p has one that you can check them off as you go
hmmm, will look into that
