Hi Leslieann, I'm at 49 words...
chic, i don't know this janet person. what is a good icon for me to use?
Janet Evanovich writes a very funny mystery series about a hapless woman named Stephanie Plum; if you ggogle J. E's name you will get book covers like mine... 'One for the Money' is first
i like this one, it says "plumtastic"
Aparently she is Evanout's favourite author -- writes mystery novels
good one, leslieann; that's stephanie and her glock...
fo 7/48
still looking for that re 7 -- will probably kick myself when I find it!
i don't have it either nan :)
cybernan, do you have se 5/12 - the religious body?
re + se 5/12
oh, thanks folks
not yet!
this puzzle seems very hit or miss... either i grey a box or i can't find hardly anything
got them all now. -- thanks!
the "i" word is very daunting. checked combos and nothing
ir 4/8
It really ir** me when I can't find the words. :)
Gah! Thanks
cr 7/36
I have 2 k 4/8's -- anyone have anything else?
there's a ke4/11 also
I have cr 7 fo7 re7 2 st7 so what's the sixth one?

thx leslie
thanx, leslieann! got it!
anyone get the 9 letter one yet?
yw, thanks to your list, got my last 7 as well! thanks
there isn't a nine...
there is no 9-letter, 1 eight-letter is the longest one
stats don't list a 9 letter
I have ul 5, 7 and6 -- anyone know what the last "u" is?
ud 4/6
Nan ul 7/40
oops, sorry, see that you have it! lol
Thanks, Leslie
Wah, it didn't take the japanese soup...
have time zones changed??
goodnight, stopping at 67, thanks for the clues!
daylight savings time, lickety
Nite rebek :) Won't take fresia either!
so did ours so now it flips at 3pm instead of 5pm... I thought it was 4pm... oops!
I'm in AZ and we don't change; so it screws up a few things for me like tv shows and stuff and babble is earlier now...
I've got 71 and I'm going to bed early for a change. I've got guys coming tomorrow to give me a new swampcooler at 8:00 a.m. 'Nite All...
swampcooler?? ok, chic, g'night!
what is a swampcooler?
hi mr p! just ginng to bed - time change is a killer
maybe it is a cool swamp! make the swamp look more chic?
Hi mrp :)
Hi nan!! Hi everyone!!
night, everyone! see u later..
owl!! sorry matey! didn't see you for a second there!
We went back to standard time last night (Saturday)
love your pusscat pic! see you later!
It's dry in the desert here so we have a unit on the roof that draws air in thru pads that are wet making it nice and cool with a little humidity; also takes out smells in the house (cooking). Not effective over 95 or so and too humid during the monsoon season.
Hi mrp, and then it's time to switch over to the AC. Does that answer your question?
yes ma'me chic! very good system!
ok then, au domain....
seem to have hit a brick wall at 89, so i'll call it a night. have a good day/night, folks.
Six words left : c, e, r x2, s x2 -- can't think anymore, so will have to wait for the morning! Good night all :)
Of course as soon as I posted that, I found 2 more!
Morning dear gang :)
hello sprite!
Hi mrP, I see you have my favorite icon back :)
meow! purr purr! Limecat!!
Still makes me smile every time :)
sprite, I saw two gorgeous himalayan kittens at the pet shop yesterday! looked just like my icon! but lickety won't have them - they were selling for $650! each!!
LOL! I must confess, I sympathise with lickety. But don't take me to the pet shop. All my sound sense melts away when I see kittens like that...
yeah, I agree with you... have to be removed by security at some pet shops!! ;) wanna take them all!
sprite, are you finding this an easy one.... for once!!
35 left to find and slowly starting to see that brick wall coming towards me now.
hey how many words today
119
brandyjack hasnt posted stats up yet?
Don't know.
I think lickety has clues up...
I keep seeing striae and derelicts.
211
Got all the biggies though. Recap: 8: St60 7: Cr36, Fo48, Re32, St44 x 2, UL40.
judyg, 211 what? Today's total is 119.
good going sprite! Nearly there myself!
hello :) I just logged on ... looks like a fun one tonight
It is, caloli :D All biggies are common words for once.
Definately one of the easier grids for a while, but could use some help on the k's. So far only have ke4/8.
I've got fo7/48 and ul7/40 ... but I bet everyone else has too!
Never ask me for Ks. I have the same one as you. Can't be any others, lol.
sorry-1st time playing the game-are you all referring to the current puzzle or one that is closed?
ke 4/11=what the saw blade leaves behind
Saying that, I find Ki4/8.
And Ke4/11.
Got 'em.TY. Can't beleive that ke4/11 is a real word!!
It is in dutch, lol. It's what you get when you scrape a sharp object over a smooth surface.
Hey sonipitts, then it's the same as in dutch! Never knew it was an english word as well.
In english, it actually refers to the "path" of the saw, what it removes.
similar etymology, no doubt.
Aha, I see. Close, but no cigar. Any help on the Gs? So far I have Go4/11 and Gu4/10.
sprite... like a little animal that digs holes... don't want one on a golf coarse!
go5/20= someone used to fetch things go6= past tense
go 4/11?
Please pass the fish... thnx :D
And there I was, thinking that was spelled with ph.
I thought it was ph too
"ph" is the critter "f" is the assistant
those d's are a doosie!!
go4/11= put a large constinent in the middle of an almighty being
go 4/11 - got it...but what is it?
Scottish for wealth.
ah...I see...learning all the time, as Benny Hill used to say.
Finished!! Goodie goodie gumdrops!!
That's one of the fun things of babbling for me, learning new words, however unfit to use in everyday conversation ;)
Ah.... mrP gets..... ~~~~%%%%~~~~%%%%~~~ FIREWORKS !!! ~~~~%%%%~~~~%%%%~~~~
beautiful fireworks! thank you!!
I keep seeing freaky and tricky - but they're not there.
With 20 left I leave for shopping. Back in a bit :)
ciao sprite!
bye for now
30 words to go need a break, back soon. later
bye :)
im done.
Back for those last nasty few :)
morning all!
Hi Atalante :D
hi sprite, hi atalante ... I'm doing about 5 things at once and I'm not paying enough attention to babble - I think I need to concentrate harder otherwise I'll be really embarrassed when I only get a total of 60 words.
gosh, its a good thing that top right corner is there!
LOL I just found an Irish curse word.
So... you are a woman, you can multi task :) You'll be fine, and when you finish the babble grid, you will have finished those other 4 things too. I wonder, could it be possible to have a grid with no words at all?
caloli, just found the same. hurrah for father ted!
LOL yes I'm a woman ... I'm the master of multitasking!
it could be ... just unlikely. I suppose a grid could just be full of (say) t's and r's. no words there. but the probability of that happening is pretty slim!
I think Angela's Ashes was the first time I really took notice of it. BTW fe526 is the plural
how many tonight, by the way?
I think there must be grids possible that have a vowel and still no valid words. Wouldn't it be fun if it happened once? Though we couldn't play that day... I withdraw the idea.
There are 119
And I just found another 'naughty' word ... British this time. Ar4/4
mm I'm sure there must be. Probably not if 3 letter words were allowed, though. I know husband's computer programme abandons any no words grids if comes across, so I would suspect Dr_Gs weeds them out too
We had a 23 words grid once. It was nasty too.
I remember!!!!!
I think it would be possible to make a grid where no combinations were possible. It would have to consist of mainly X, Z and Q though :D
Wow. 23 is mean!
Must leave again, with only a few left to find. Darn! Ah well, they'll be there when I return. :) Have a great day/night/whatever and happy hunting.
byeee!
doesn't like japanese soups.... tricky grid today
See you next time :)
Has anyone got a clue for de5/16 please?
Good morning, just logged in. Found a pic of Janet Apanovich, but haven't a clue who she is!
Hi :)
Good morning - ex-Wren. I thought it was Janet Evanovitch we were supposed to be honouring today. I've never heard of her either so I'm not for conforming. It's the rebel streak in me!
Can anyone help with ke 4/11?
It is who you said Haz, I've spelt her name wrong. Stands to reason if I have never heard of her!
ke4/11 - the mark or track a handsaw leaves behind
I can tell you something it rhymes with if you'd like?
Exactly, ex-Wren!
yes please cal!
surf
thanks!
no problem :)
Janet is a great mystery writer and very popular in the states.
how many are you up to michaelden?
happy janet day!!!!!!!!
* gets grid and scampers off to work *
All done! First time I ever finished!
Congratulations - the first of many!
still only 47. been looking at johari sites
Well, I've finished, so I reckon I've no excuse to keep me away from the housework. Happy babbling!
how do you find out how many possible words there are for this puzzle?
Hi all - is it a happy grid today? Haven't much time as usual. So won't bother if it's horrible!
hi snowy - it seems very easy today. jump in.
swindler - 119 words today.
Thank you, Dianne
the swindler -on the right hand side of the opage under the Friends of Babble heading you will find 2 sites -Babblers Anonymous and Angelsongs Babble Page -both have the stats for the day. Angelsongs Page will tell you all you need to know about Babble -welcome & have fun! Be warned tho' This game is very addictive!
Ty Dianne - will join the fun then!
addictive - ya think?
hi all don't feel so well today :o(
I started last October & have only missed about 4 days! Did get compulsive about finishing grids but don't mind if I finish or not now - the site is really friendly & I don't chat anywhere else. Have had great fun here!
Addictive?! This is worse than coffee! I can't work, sleep, or eat since I found this site.
sorry to hear that wezzie -Babbling may help!
Morning all........whats wrong wezzie?
uh swindler - just when did you find this site?
you may be right snowyowl
LOL swindler -know the feeling -I'm supposed to be doing housework right now & I've lost count of the number of nights I've fallen asleep at the keyboard!
I really don't like those top Ds today ...
feel sick and i've got a head ache caitlyn
There is a lot of sickness around at the moment it doesnt last long though
Hi Atalante - one of those grids that I'd like to juggle the vowels about in! They're not doing a lot hanging about around the edge!
that makes me cheer up a little :o)
I found this site maybe `bout a week ago...my highest score has been 589, so I strive to hit a thousand one day
yes! and I dont like Fs either. Most people have hang-ups about As or Ks - I have Fs!
About those D:s fo 6/33 - food for cows or cannon ...
You will do it swindler....welcome
Ty chopped!
swindler - today may be your 1,000 point day.
thank you
swindler which part of the world are you?
U.S. So, it's really late now...or early, I should say
OH NO.........the sun is shining and my windows look really dusty!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL caitlyn! Horrible isn't it? Did mine yesterday. Job I hate
Perhaps it will rain soon !!LOL

Hi all :) Don't worry caitlyn, if you're concentrating on the screen, you can't see the windows. I just shut my eyes when I walk past mine!

This is quite an easy grid so far, especially the sk's, although I must confess I have never heard of the go4/11! I am up to the f's now, 70 words.
just about the easiwest grid to date. I thinK
easy grid?? someone say easy grid?? :D:D:D:D:D
euw.... hard sudoku. figures : /
ho hum, tiddly um, got the chat log to myself. *whistles tunelessly*
k. bored now. anyone out there? :'/
Im finding it easier to find longer ones, tougher to find smaller ones.
oooh! life!! hello The Student! are you a newbie? : )
I am yes. This is dragging me away from uni work. Nigh on addictive.
morning. i hate the monday after the 'spring ahead' time change (USA). who decided this was a smart idea?
'Nigh on'? Revise that - it IS addictive! I only popped in to see what it was like...... last August!! lol! :D
morning all just popped in to check out the gird before i go get ready for work
hi cliffopa : ) oooh! you've done your profile! gonna have a read..... : )
morning sheryl!
hi sheryl : ) people are saying it's easy. haven't started yet. : )
nice profile, cliffopa : ) 'live for today'. very Zen! : )
Hi Babbler and everyone. I started about half-an-hour ago and have found 78 words so far. Not sure if it's an 'easy' grid yet, though.
The Student, whereabouts on the planet are you?
morning pecked in a few but really don't want to get into it, I'll be late for work
hi Jac! : ) lovely icon!
78 words!?! Im from Melbourne, Australia.
Morning everyone I need to get the kids off to school before I play. Just checking to see the stats for today. Cliff - YOU WENT PRO!! Congrats! BTW I agree about the spring forward,
babbler - my state has a motto on all vehicle license plates "Live Free or Die" I think that is going a little to far, but i do like mottos in general. got one?
hi musicmom! : ) The Student - what time is it? Should you be asleep now? : )
Babbler - It's Frank Plum from the Janet E novels, apparently. I've never read anything by her.
musicmom, i actually went pro from the start. I've just spent all my time trying to find words instead of taking care of business, so to speak.
my motto, cliffopa? ummmm *thinks*... I think the only one I've got is "keep it simple". Yeah, that state motto is a bit much, lol ! I'm sure I've got some more mottos tucked away somewhere.... Jac- I haven't read anything by her either. Most intrigued tho'! : )
I see cliff. Jac they are a funny easy read. Great for a mindless blow off afternoon.
'keep it simple' is a great one babbler. i often promote the KISS principle at work (keep it simple stupid)
someone dare me to enter a word! :D (I haven't played for aaaaaages!) :D
I will if you will Babbler. I'm debating starting because I have a full day.
babbler - play this one - it is a piece of cake.
double dare you!
thanks, cliffopa : ) I have a tendency to think too much and worry worry worry. Keep it simple works for me. : )
Hi - escaped again! Janet is a good, fun read -it's not rocket science but I reckon only spacemen need that. Well worth a peep if you want a good laugh. Off to the library this afternoon to see how many I can find to re read
MusicMom - They look fun from what I've read on Janet E's website. I shall look out for her. I've just finished reading Nicholas Sparks' 'True Believer' and am presently reading 'The Time Waster Letters' by Robin Cooper.
My motto "Smile at everyone! Be nice."
hi Dianne!! :D lol, double-dare! ok..... let's see what I can find... ;D
nice one, musicmom! : ) hi snowy! : )
I'm in!! cr6/21 ! tee hee ;D
hehe - I decided to go for the go4/11
Hi Babbler long time no see! Got to go again now -toddler to feed before preschool. See you later I hope!
Oh, Babbler. Did you have to mention that cr word? It reminds me I *should* be doing the ironing.
babbler - then quick get the cr7.
well off to get ready for work, have a good day all
that's a good one music mom. smiles are good. being nice is good as well. good mom advice.
got it, Dianne! thx! : ) see you later, sheryl, have a good day : )
bye sheryl have a great day.
will wonders never ce 5/12!
lol Jac :D nah.... save it for later. Eastenders is rubbish nowadays, do it then ; )
'Bye Sheryl.
babbler - on to the fo6 & 7.
already done, Dianne! lol :D
babbler - what about the st7's & st8?
oooooh!! lemme see.... :D
yi 5/122! i've already got 25 words. going to try and go longer without looking at the 2 letter list.
Babbler - I've never been an Eastenders fan - always too much yelling and angst in it. More of a Corrie & Emmerdale fan (though Emmerdale has gone down hill since they removed the 'farm' from the title).
Hello musicmom... I caught you!! :)
totally agree, Jac. Love Corrie. Stopped watching Emmerdale years ago. : /
Hey Grandma - You are supposed to be coming over here. :-)
woot! got the sts! anymore, Dianne? what shall Ifind next? : )
I need to go yank Hannah out of bed. Lazy - don't want to go back up stairs.
And I will be there very soon... and I'm not going to share you with this gang today <vbg>
Grandmalori - It's babbler's fault I'm playing - I wasn't going to:-))
Are we doing yoga or should I start the coffee. I really need the yoga!
lol musicmom!!! :D
Two good mottos to live by, since we've been talking mottos: Be happy from the inside out. Share your time, toughts and food.
Good ones Jac!
babbler - go for the dr5 and 2 x 6.
HA!! I don't believe that one for a minute. How many words today? You've actually talked so much about all the clues and hints that I've been lurking and soaking up everyone else's clues and now I'm thinking about going pro (I'm such a copycat aren't I?)
I like those, Jac. : )
nice ones Jac.
jac - those are two great mottos.
119 words and so far they are all easy. I started at the bottom of the list. Well, except for the go 4/11 that I saw because of the number of points.
We are SO doing yoga this morning. I am pumped ;)
Go pro - then you can have an icon too:-))
Alright. I'm going to go yank Hannah and take my shower. See you in a bit.
It was a pretty good sign that I had 11 almost instantly... I'm not feeling totally stupid anymore LOL
dianne - dr5/20! what a funny word! on to the 6s.... : )
oooh! another funny word! a dr6....
k, Dianne. got the drs. what's next? : D
babbler - re6 & 7. think re + cult.
grooo... don't like re words.... k.... lemme see... : )
I don't like re words either - they are always difficult for me to see.
finally!! lol! gottem. what's next, Dianne? : )
babbler - go for the 2 fe6/30 words.
woot! what's next? tee hee :D:D:D
babbler - now the ul 5, 6 & 7. What a pain.
ooooooh! k...... : )
next? :D lol
babbler - er5/10 & 6/21 x 2.
Grandmalori - are you still here? Shower is done, the kids are out on the porch:-))
woot! tee hee! next? :D:D
I'm still here, stealing clues <g>
This games gives me ul6/24... (jk) Morning, all!
Babbler - at this rate you are going to be done in no time and have nothing else to do.
ce5/12 & 6/24.
Morning Jera. I survived Harry Potter. I'll send more pictures as soon as I download them to the computer.
musicmom, fret not, I still haven't done sudoku, and I haven't finished yesterday's papers yet. :D
Ooops! *realizes she's still wearing costume from yesterday & goes to change*
Getting ready to go out the door, so I have to stop chatting now. Dianne gives great clues though :D
got those, Dianne :) next?
Hey everyone! Grandmalori is absolutely my best friend and and a great sister. Tell her she should go pro:-)!
Well - I've got to go - the only others of real interest are the ky 4 & 5. Have fun.
Yes she does! See you soon.
hi Jera! : )
oooh, nice one, Dianne! Thanks for all the clues! Have a good day. :D
yes, thanks diane!
Glad to hear it musicmom... you're giving me ideas!
Jera FYI it is great great fun but I am always completely drained at the end of the day. I think it is being in character for the whole time.
I know how you feel, musicmom... I actually feel that way after most meetings, special-themed or not, LOL
Yep me too. Thinking Day really did me in this year. The next biggie I'm involved in planning is the She and Me in May. We are doing an Iron Chef No Bake Cook Off.
The phantom lucky st6/30 is making me want a cigarete & I haven't smoked in nearly 30 years, LOL
hello :) I'm back for another 10 minutes to try and work out some pesky ones.
LOL Jera!
Hello Caloli
lol Jera! : ) hi caloli : )
Okay everyone I better get ready. Grandmalori will be here in just a few for yoga, coffee and Bible study.
good morning everyone. Blue, warm skies, but we are supposed to prepare for a "winter" storm and possible power outages. Booo!
Have a great day :)
Have fun, musicmom, see ya later!
see you later, musicmom : )
any clues for the ky's?
hi Eva : )
Hi guys : )
hi Babbler!
hi Lo! :D
Hi Eva. I haven't got the kys yet either
hi lola!
thks caloli
Hi Lola
I've got the kys. I monkeyed them. Not hard to find. : )
don't you hate it when you *know* it's going to be an easy one - it's practically staring you in the face ... but you still can't manage to get it.
{{{LOLA}}} Haven't seen you in a coon's age... was just thinking about you yesterday!
what's monkeying? I've only been babbling for a few days, so I'm still fairly new to it. I'm an old boggle maniac though.
I'm finished. 119 words for 1686 points. Anyone want the stats posting?
caloli-randomly typing possibble combos-comes from the monkeys typing Shakespeare sort of thing
Hi babs, eva, caloli : ) Hey jera! {{{jera}}} ...'a coon's age'...LOL! : D
thanks Eva :) I feel dumb now, I probably could have worked that one out myself. Oops.
"Monkeying" is short for monkey-typing... typing in strings of letter in the hopes they make a word. Comes from the saying a million mokeys typing at random a million years could produce Shakespeare (or something coherent by sheer chance)
Not that I'm Sothern or anything, Lola...
congrats, Jac! : ) nah, I don't want the stats... thx
Hi Lola. I think that expression means something different in The States. Not 'pc' here, though!
Or that I can spell Southern, either...
well, my monkeys must be really slow today because those "easy" ky's are eluding me. Any stats for them?
thanks ... monkeys might be smarter than me at the moment! I'm so tired and I'm meant to be planning work for tomorrow but I decided my brain needed refreshing.
I need to cut my nails today, I'm making more typos than usual...
ky4/10 & 5/22
ky4/10 ky5/22
Hi jacs. Thanks, won't use it in public then ; )
I need to do my taxes today. Somebody please shoot me!!! (They'd probably tax me on the bullets)
hi everyone! just popping back in to say hi. clues available if needed :)
I found the ky's with the hint they are a 4 & a 5. Type in ky+ 2 more letters with the second one being near an s & you'll find it... fun game, huh?
hi Ata! :D
me too, Jera ; )
Ugh taxes. Mine aren't due for another 3 months (I'm in Australia) but I'm already dreading it. Hi Atalanta
Thanks jera!
The ky4 (in case anyone cares) is an alternate spelling. Means "Cocoanut fiber, or the cordage made from it."
Hi ata! My mum sent me some biltong last week...only lasted a couple of days though, lol!
I alwyas go for an extension, but that still means I havea to get all the paperword to the accountant very, very soon. Every year I say I'm going to do it early.....sure.
What's biltong?
eva, it's cured meat...very yummy : )
I need to get my hands on some vegemite for ANZAC Day... my Girls have never had it & I missed getting some for Australia Day...
okay-think I'll leave this now until BJ's llist coms up later. Time to feed Merp, and maybe get in a walk in the woods before the rain and snow comes.
I'm eating vegemite on toast right now!!!
Hey, I passed halfway without even noticing... you guys are great fun!
bye for now, eva
if biltong is delicious the way that vegemite is then I think it's an acquired taste. Tried vegemite once and think I'll just savour the memory for the rest of my life(-:
see you later, Eva : )
see you later eva : )
mmmm biltong - what sort did you get?
Are you a happy little vegemite, caloli?
For anyone interested, the' ky' words are coconut fibre (usually spelled co**).
as bright as bright can be ;)
Often when trying to explain vegemite to Americans, it starts comparing it to peanut butter... I think that's a big mistake as it's NOTHING like peanut butter...
just beef....but I did get a small (tiny!) packet of kudu from the bristol SA shop...cost me £3.50!!! : /
gosh no!!! It's completely different. The texture, the taste, the feel of it in your mouth ...
Jera - vegemite's more like Marmite, isn't it?
£3.50! Yikes!!!
Aaargh! I knew someone would mention devil's poo! Shame on you jacs! *gives jacs sternest mommy look*
Never had Marmite, but I think I've heard them linked together. The best way to decribe Vegemite is fish jelly. But that doesn't sound very appetizing...
But, Lola, I like Marmite! (Paul hates it, though.)
ata, I know! But it was worth every penny...AND I even let Anj have some 0: )
it has a little bit of a yeasty, salty taste - like the bottom of a beer barrel
I thought vegemite and marmite were more or less the same??
marmite is sweeter than vegemite ... vegemite is more tangy
I like marmite.... on toast.... : )
Devil's poo? Is that biltong or vegemite??
*lola hides under desk* ...someone come get me when you've finished talking about that...stuff! : /
imo vegemite and marmite are totally different (and promite is different again). I love vegemite and promite but I don't like marmite. My hubby hates promite but loves vegemite. Our kids love promite but don't like vegemite. There's lots of bottles of black stuff in my pantry ;)
marmite?? makes a nice hot drink too.... ; )
Oops... it's 8 o'clock... gotta go throw these people out of my house so I can Bbble in peace today... back after I take littllie to preschool...

I'm off to do some work now. I'll post the stats for the non-pro's in about an hour.
see you later, Jac : )
later jacs : )
aha! very clever!
bye Jac
woohoo got the st8/60 on my own yeah!!!!
hi shorty, lol! : )
hello Babbler!
My darn hubby walked in, took a two second look, and blurted it out before I saw it. He's much better at this than I am.
Woot! Hi shorty : )
Hi lola , lol caloli!
off again now :) I'll look in again later! have fun!
Hi Shorty, Bye Atalanta
see you later ata : )
laters, Ata! :)
I was surpised to see atalante in here, she finished ages ago - without a list! I've just finished, WITH an list, and a couple of trips into a2z land
I'm still struggling with a few ... I've got the list AND I'm getting clues!
Has anyone got a clue for tr6/30? I bet it's really easy and I'll feel like a dolt when I finally get it.
Plural of Tr5/18. Things to ride on with 3 wheels.
Have you got tr5/18 caloli? then pluralise it
drop the s off the st7 : )
hi Sprite! : )
duh. Thanks ... I was right, I feel incredibly stupid.
hi ex wren : )
Hiya, everyone!!!!! I can't believe I found the 8 letter word so easily..... (And no, I'm not boasting)......
hi moviman! it's a delightful grid today! :D
Hi :) Never feel stupid, caloli. I don't think there is one single babbler that doesn't need the fish every now and then, lol.
(even I'm playing, lol!! ) ; )
Boasting! ;)
s'right! what sprite said.... : )
I even had all of the similar words ... couldn't see the forest for the trees, I guess. Gah.
happens all the time to everyone, caloli : )
I will confess: I needed almost 15 minutes of intensive searching to find the Wo5. Really. Hand me the fish...
well that makes me feel a bit better - I got that one all on my own :)
Hi exwren, sprite and movieman : )
I felt particularly blonde when I finally found it :)
lol Sprite! : ) awwwww.... no need for the fish, have a hug instead (( hugs ))
Lola.... la la la la looooooola :D
The k's seem to be proved a tad elusive..... I have a ke4/8, but I can't see the others..... *Prepares fish, just in case*
Sprite - that song is a bit kinky, isn't it......LOL
It is ;) Movieman, I found the Ks all by myself today, so you won't have any problem with them. Ke4/11 and Ki4/8.
hee hee...thanks sprite ; )
movieman, lol!
Somehow I have the feeling lola doesn't mind being just a tad kinky ;)
LOL! } )
well gotta hop in the shower got lots of errands to do today BBL
And Ky4/5, Cocoanut fiber(s), or the cordage(s) made from it. Sounds more like what seagulls say, though.
later shorty : )
4/5 meaning Ky4 and Ky5, of course, lol.
bye shorty
later, shorty....
Errands in the shower? Interesting :) See you later, shorty.
I think I'll go too - I've got a big day tomorrow and I need to get to bed.
see you all next time :)
Hey! Love the Scooby Doo last word (alphabetically)
Bye caloli!
and thanks again for the clues *blush*
Me too, hkj :D
caloli, a big day tomorrow? You can't say that without telling us what! : D
Need one more u..... I have 3 words relating to a sore spot in the mouth, but the other one is proving a tad tricky.....
perennial Japanese plant (Aralia cordata) having bipinnately compound leaves and young shoots that are cooked and eaten as a vegetable. But sounds like I don't, but you do.
Plural.
Oh, I have a big day every day - I'm a school teacher ... but I actually had a death in the family last night and I'm preparing for the funeral. And my hubby is unwell at the moment so he's seeing a specialist. But enough doom and gloom! I'm planning on being brave and doing some melted wax autumn leaves with the kids tomorrow.
(((((((((caloli))))))))))) Han g in there, we'll send you lots of support to help you through. Am so sorry.
aww, sorry to hear that caloli...take some special babble squeezy hugs with you ...{{{caloli}}}
Dank u, Sprite.....
((( caloli ))) so sorry to hear your news.
aw, thanks so much - this is such a lovely community to be welcomed into! Hugs right back at you :D
morning people. theme today?
thanks calioli, have fun with the kids tomorrow : )
Capone, it's Janet Evanovich day!!!!! If you don't know who she is, just type her name in google images, and you should get plenty of pics to choose from.....
OK, I think I'll stick to my current icon, TSM nibbling on kitten ears.
well, bye for now. i think it is going to be an okay day. only 45 words left. off to work i go!
See ya, cliff.....
'bye cliff : )
I have 46 left! see you later, cliffopa, have a good day : )
Woot! I'm all done : )
grats lola
good going, Lola! : )
Congrats, lola.....
Thanks! Really must go spend some time with small person. She's on hols at the mo and could do with some stimulation : ) Anyone need any clues before I go?
congrats, lola!
I don't know if I need clues, yet, Lo. You go and play with your little 'un! :D hi une! : )
mornin', babbler
you're gonna think I'm nutty, une. I've only just realised you're in the states! I thought you were in France all this time! (Aix) lol :D
can anyone tell me how many words there are today?
:-D not since many many years ago!
119 : )
okay, see you all later then : )
119 words
thanks:)
have a good day, Lo : D
Be back soon, lola.....
think I'll take a break now too. 43 left to find... not too shabby! laters, guys : )
later, babs....

*2nd letter list? I meant 1st letter list!
Okay, I became a member. pretty happy with how my avatar came up!
Welcome to the world of the Professionals, Student....
Just checking in to see whether I also got a completed icon.
Considering how much time I'm going to spend doing this, a shot from Groundhog Day is a good shot.
for some reason I did not get a little girl head next to my icon. Why?
Welcome to Babbleonia, Student.
inge - have you tried stating your gender.....
welcome student....now leave before it's too late!!! ;)
I did last night and did recheck it. Gender is entered, no bio yet.
My son's watching a programme about 'The World's Worst Pets' at the moment. He's just told me about a parrot with the filthiest beak in the world. Apparently, the 'expert' was going to teach it to swear in Norwegian so that it wouldn't 'offend so many people'. I've just asked my son if he's now learned some Norwegian swear words and been told that the pet owner now has a parrot that can swear prolifically in both English and Norwegian. I had a feeling that might happen.... LOL.
...And, of course, I've just *had* to go and look up some Norwegian swearwords on the Swearosaurus section of Insultmonger. Hmmm...
i should be with todays's theme
This C in the middle is making a mess of me.
i apologize to everyone in advance for not being myself today. i'm very tired.
So, Capone - does being very tired make you a grumpier version of yourself, or a more subdued version?
I'm just drifting......lack of sleep should hit me sometime later today. TSM and I recorded a record 9.5/10 hour phone conversation Saturday night/Sunday morning. Thus, I was up for about 27 hours straight after only sleeping about 5 hours the previous 2 nights. LOL
A good night's sleep would be the answer but you've got to get the day in first. Were your ears not sore after spending that long on the phone?
Hello
Hello, harpjane
Nah, good conversation is never bad on the ears. Unless its a kitten ear (note icon)
morning harp
wow, i just noticed its unusually quiet this morning. almost 2 hours of chatlog on this page. WAKE UP everyone!
Im trying. having no much luck.... should be studying...
capone, it's because the puzzle is too darn hard. I only have one word so far....
I finished the grid earlier today and am just lurking. It is quieter than usual for this time of the day.
I've scored the 8 letter word, but I'm miles behind on the 4 letter words.
Hi Haz and all. The log may be quieter than usual due to the school holidays here in the UK.
Maybe all the Americans overslept because of the switch to daylight savings?
first two letters / clues for the lone 8 letter ...please.
I'm here. Just got nuthin' to say...
st8/60 - people who hit
st 8/60 - useful soccer players to score goals or quality of good matches
Ohh I dunno, it is correct form to do that on here?
thank you ;-)
*ducks fruit* there you go! I hope you scored with that one!
certainly did ... thanks again for the clues.
FMitch - are schools off for Easter already? They've at least another week to go here.
another instance of the word staring straight at me, and i wasn't caffeinated enough to make 'eye contact'.
st8 - those who picket for better working conditions and wages
Ah, well they are off in Scotland so I was presuming the same for England, but perhaps not?
with tha clue - when you say '8/60' what do the numbers mean?
8 letters for a total of 60 points
8 letters / 60 points
8 refers to the number of letters in the word. 60 refers to the points gained.
excellent, cheers. Addictive stuff.
Morning all! Any hints on the cr6/7?
sorry, the 6 & 7...
Done any ironing this morning jen?
Hi Jen, if you had an iron you wouldn't have these.
Thanks FM! I thought I'd tried that! :)
And student... thanks!
yr welcome
Hi Everyone, 119 words.. does that mean mostly obscure??
Hello everybody! Long time no see! I've missed the Babble community.
sonia got a 21
Done! Anyone need anything?
Hi Smithchick, I'm only just finding my way back too
It's good to be back, huh Ginger?
a clue for the 8 please Jen?
isn't it amazing how the mind works - I read the clue for thos who picket, and the next thing I saw was the word student in the chat - I have now spent the last 10 minutes trying to work out how to get student out of today's grid.....
yeah smithchick!
It's an st8... pl the 7 before it, which means someone who stops working toprotest something.
8/60 - someone who hits.
got the 8...
If you are bowling and you get all 10 pin down at once, you are a st7
Hey smithchick good to see you back and Ginger too!!
thanks anyway student :-)
Damn that U.
Thanks, FMitch! And all for the st7 and 8 clues.
That u might give you an uncomfortable stomach condiiton...
student, if you are talking the ud4, think of a chocolate bar, sort of like granola and take off the first letter .
and the past tense and the plural...
And with that, I am off to the gym. Have a great rest of the day everyone! :)
Bye Jen!
Bye Jen...Happy workout
bye Jen!
Ahhh cheers. I had the first one, but not the follow up. Rookie mistake.
Hello to everyone :) What is the icon theme today?
Hi, TSM... Janet Evanovich, I believe...
ohhh we have icon themes now do we?? sounds fun!
How long have you been gone, Ginger?
a while... couple of months or more... RL took over lol
I know what you mean. Fortunately, my absences are usually only about a week long.
my ranking has really suffered too :-(
Theres the culprit (TSM)!
my internet is slow and acting up
Capone! Hiiiii How are ya?
sure it's not just you? (slow)
Easy clue for the u/4 6 U*** plural Dirkschneider, lead singer of Accept!! Always cool when you can make a UD reference!
I'm good, just tired damn you!
i feel like such an ar4/4 for not spotting one of the AR words, any clues for the second one?
Greek god of war
ta, smithchick, and thank god for google!
YW
Hey all, I'm back... that took longer than I thought! Made a dry run out to where the Sprite's voice lessons will be & it's a wild, hairy ride! I'm so glad I didn't try that for the first time when she needed to be there...
g/5 20 go*** this, go*** that! g/6 33 plural of g/5
morning Jera. anyone see Faerie today?
Hey Jera. That was smart of you. I'd just wait and be wandering aimlessly and be late.
*hugs capone lovingly*
Woohoo! Got the whole list today.
Well, there's 2 ways to do it... the wild, scary curcy back roads that save a few miles, & the wide open parkway that one can usually go a lot faster on, but I'm not sure how long rush hour traffic lasts in that area... I think I'll try again tonight at the actual time & see how it goes. Class starts tomorrow night. I found an error on the mapquest directions that I'm glad I ironed out alone during the daytime with no deadline.
/smacks TSM in the face, OUCH! oops, I meant to emote /licks TSM's face, Yummy or should that be /bites TSM's ear, just like she did to that poor kitten.
help with S- 21 anyone please
what does the 8 letter start with?
Are you done, Mr.Write? If so, Congrats!!!!!!!!!!
pan se**** steak (6/21)
8-letter: S
...or fish
Starts with st...
st8 - people who protest for better working conditions Yep, all done. (-:
DOH!! Considering I had the st/6 and 2 st/7's ..I should have seen that one! Thanks MW
greetings all Jera, I've found google is better for directions than mapquest. Good luck.
Thank for the help. all. thats me done bye
Is it just me or does there seem to be an unsually high percentage of monkey-type words today? I keep typing whatever in... & it's an actual word!! Quite amusing...
refresh :)
WooHoo, Grim!!!!!!!!!! HI, Minski!
LOL capone :)
Awww, I liked the racoon better...
I'm pretty excited. I'm down to two five-letter words, and two six-letter words. Two c's and two f's. No List!!!
can't believe dont (don't) isn't a valid word ...acronyms and slang count - but not this one?!
I have been unable to find rhyme or reason in the Enable dictionary... clueless as to their standard of what is valid...
There is no rhyme or reason to Babble, beazus...
nothing with apostrophes, hyphens, and such
Argh! Silly friend showing me this game...Does it get any easier?
caveat of doom ;-)
yea, Don't has been in there a few times and never counts. What really upsets me is LOTR (Lord of the Rings) doesn't count!!! :/
beazus: no punctuation or hyphens allowed Hi everyone!
i spotted lotr as well ...argh
bumper....lurking?
Bandm, I don't know about easier, but definitely more addictive! Hey, TO!!
there are 4 words from the R on the bottom row... I can't see any :O anyone got a clue... please?
and no DOSKEY either ...double argh.
ry** (plural) bread
It does get easier. You begin to learn what to look for, you begin to recognize some of the more common silly words, and you figure out what modus operandi works best for you.
ty capone!
LOTR doesnt could for what?
Ginger, they are all ry... One sounds like a prison and it's plural (I think it may be on an island?) one is the plural of a kind of bread and the other switches out the vowel on the bread one.
seeing as how acronyms have counted in the past TSM, LOTR should be in there...lol just geeking out. ST TNG fans should be up in arms about Riker not counting!
using that bottom r ...a child's riding toy (and pluralised)
Has anyone else noticed GW is in the grid? Woulf is there, although invalid...
but nobody else is upset about DOSKEY? ;-)
OMG....
ty smithchick!
YW!
*looks embarrassed as she has no idea of the significance of doskey*
dowd is so a word... a person who is dowdy. don't they read l.m. montgomery?
Hey, hursh!
hey smith
I have to say I'm in agreement on dowd.
thank you, smith
hear hear !!!!
and ginger
doskey; http://www.microsof t.com/resources/documentation/ windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/ doskey.mspx?mfr=true
i have 9 words left, and have used no list, clues, or anything but my little noodle. aren't you proud???
Well, I have two options. I can look back through the chat log for clues to my missing words and not resort to the list, or I can save myself time and trouble and look at the list. In the interest of laziness, I shall use the list.
ok... I have a 6 it's not accepting....
hi all! hurshy you are amazing. I have 13 words from last night, so am not going to the list yet... but I will eventually!
Since asci is valid I do agree about doskey!
Damn the man for excluding Doskey!!!!!! <beeP> the hatas!
thank you.
*beams proudly @ hurshy* *thinks about going for the last for the last 36 words as she's not as clever as hurshy*
might be me having a bad day but what would you called someone who irks?
no, jera, hold out!
must be a copyright issue ...mr. gates is not to be trifled with
irksome
I broke down with four words to go, hursh.
Clearly an irker (but beware, Ginger, you can use the word you put in your question!)
I get irritated with all the odd foreign words... chinese money & levels of enlightenment in eastern religions... also very inconsistent.
hmmm... I thought it would accept irkers... people who irk ... hee hee
ooh, go smith. i don't know if i can get any more! i still need a 7!
wow time is flying here.... steady schedule today
oh no, sorry... I didn't see that vicuna!!!
51 down, 68 to go. be back later
Bye, capone!
go hurshy! I've got 78 without list, a new record :-) I'll break down soon though ^..^
*off to cheat on last 35 words*
My tummy hurts a little... maybe I need to eat... BANANA! :D
Done! My last two were words that I should have gotten without the list. I guess I need the fish.
by doing it without a list do you mean BJ's list?
alright, i give... i read in the log your clue about the ry's that sound like the prison - i know the prison bc i watch law and order, but i canNOT find any combo of letters that sounds like that that it will take!
YAY smithchick!
WOOT SMITH! :D Capone - Aw bu bye sweetie :)
yay smith!
oh, nvm, found them.
yay smith!!!
Yes, bj's list. I think someone else gave a clue about the three-wheeled thing children ride on. Drop the t, and replace the first vowel with the y.
Ginger - take a look at Angelsong's babble page and Licketys too on the right hand side under Friends of Babble, Things have changed quite a bit since we started playing.
smith, i have cr7, fo7, two st7's, and ul7 - what is the last 7? :(
Well, I guess I've got to go be productive. See you all sometime tomorrow.
re7
OOps, sorry hurshy. It is an re7. Plural of an re6
hmmm, ok, will ponder... thanks
bye smith! : )
can anyone tell me, is this re being used as a prefix, or not?
yes rhymes with sex
nvm, found them. all i have to do is post...
sort of...
woohoo, monkeyed my D's. now just 3 F's and i'm done!
sounds like would be better but I'm nursing my baby and one handed typing is harder with longer explanations :-)
Been there, done that, knutmeg!
yay, got the five and the six - just have to monkey that last little 4!
just thank the gods this game is so easy 1 handed.. Liv is too :-)
woohoo, done! and with only 2 clues. not bad!
yay hurshy!
YAY hurshy!
Yay Hurshy!!!
fank you fank you :)
Huzzah for hurshy!!
ooh, i get a huzzah? wow!
Is BJ not feeling well today? I'm surprised his list isn't up yet...
(((((((( jers, hurshy, temple, stid))))))))
I like huzzahs...
((tsm)) ((all))
hi TSM! how was your weekend? missed you...
weekend.... um was good! I didn't get any sleep on Saturday night because of Capone but that's ok. I liked it! lol :) How was your weekend sweetie? Missed you!
Well, if I can't cheat today I must take a break.. the dishes are calling me & it's not a pretty sound...
later Jera!
ok, I've got 60 words, it's nearly 2am...I'll try again in the morning if I have time. I think I have a new addiction ;)
bu bye jera!
bye jera! c u later! bandm: where are you?
good night bandm
bu bye band :)
our weekend was -- different. yesterday the teen had a meltdown... other than that it wasn't too bad, just different
QLD Australia :D
should have known! bye now!
stidmama- ooooh meltdown huh? Not a fun time. It's hard in the teen years :)
ok, guess it's a good thing I didn't close out yet. TSM don't blame me for the 10 hour phone conversation! You could have ended it after your first battery went dead but NOOOOOOO, you burned through 2 (count em TWO) more and begged me not to leave when my first one was drained! Women.
Because I love you Capone :) I said I liked it lol
Um, I just realized that last post could have a certain "adult" innuendo...so please refrain from any smart<beep> comments!
more than halfway without a list! pretty good for me. gotta go help at the school booksale... back later. (((all)))
love me more than nibbling on kittens ears?
see you later stidmama!
speaking of the kitten nibbling, check out my profile for a link to the enlarged version of my avatar...then feel free to /poke fun at TSM for her creepy fetish!
I have only one of the st7 having to do with people refusing to work. A clue on the one I'm missing?
Oh duh, a plural
Does anyone have a clue for the re7? Please?
check my post at 10:42 Merk
yes much more than kitten ears :)
they're all variants Merk
*passes merk the pollock of plurality*
the st's that is
Afternoon all.....
I am so green here ... pollock of plurality? Thanks for the clues. I found a bunch, but not the exact one I needed.
Hey - is that Merk from the BSher boards, or another Merk altogether?
hi caitlyn! : ) hey - has anyone seen the guest of honor? (and please warn me if you do!)
merk: click on the babblers anonymous link for babble trivia like the icon theme days and the origin of the fish and their meanings... *retrieves fish in rare show of compassion*
I think I must be another Merk. I've never been there or here before. I am just learning, with my nephew's help, how to do this. It's coming ... slowly.
BRB :)
Temple guest of honour?
Woot!! Done!! Wait--Now what am I going to do with the rest of my day >.<
Well done knutmeg
how many words are there?
119 today
119 words today

Hi Dachef
enters singing...'re's, glorious re's...' 'Evening, 'afternoon, and in general, hi all. zion: regarding last night's chat -- sorry. I'm such an insufferable snot. Will work on not posting my every precious impression. (as if anyone gave a rat's arse) By the way, what fresh hell does your icon depict? Looks a bit like US at Abu Graihb.
Dachef!
mab used a word, mab used a word, etc, etc.!!! ;)
Hi mab
Morning. The re's aren't too bad, I flew through this one!
ky 4 or 5?
Oh dear I did! Sorry, sorry, etc.
Hi Mab (who used a word) What's cooking, dachef?
can someone post the stats for today :)
ky + the first part of the word Mab used ;)

go lickertys babble clues on the right
Missing one c -- I have: ce: 1x4, 2x5, 1x6 cl: 3x4, 2x5 cr: 1x6, 1x7 What am I missing please?
Oh, cruel, cruel world... And it's really a lovely word too. Sorry AGAIN.
thanks bunny :)
Hi bunny are all ok with you now?
You shouldn't be thinking about cooking today, dachef! ;)
cybernan, another ce5. Try adding on to the ce4's.
Thanks, dachef
LOL, Ice and Hera stayed home sick, and Sky has a fever. They are all staring at the TV, cept chopper. She broke into the cake sprinkles and went to town! Think I might need to go get them flu shots!
absolutely - my day off is when I slave over a hot phone!!!!
Dachef said 'bugger,' Dachef said 'bugger!' Have you been on the road to anywhere exciting Da?
I only have one ce 4 and two ce 5's off of it -- is there another ce 4? or an unrelated ce 5?
danke.
actually, my girlfriend's been over from Spain for a few days, so I did cook her breakfast in bed this morning. Just put her back on a plane to Spain, so the house seems really empty now. Sniff. :'(
Spring is just about here so maybe they will start getting better bunny
The ce 6 is built off the ce 5.
the other ce5 is a shortened version of the ce6....... fish on standby....................
Poor Dachef
I hope so! I feel like a butt, we had a picnic at the park, were there for hours yesterday. It was pretty outside, I'm hoping that isn't why they got ill. Everyone was fine yesterday!
That was the one bunny -- had the 6 but had forgotten to enter the five!
Awww, Dachef. Must be difficult, all those hellos and goodbyes. Well, the goodbyes part would actually be the difficult one. Does she like Britain?
Done --- and with no list!!!!! -- first time -- thanks for the help on my last three. :)
WTG Cyber!
Hooorah cybernan!!!! Congratulations!!!!!
congrats 'nan! Now what are you going to do for the rest of the day?
Congrats to cybernan
...there is always Sudoku....
Chic -- I'm busy making some capri pants for my skinny minnie granddaughter who can't find anything to fit her in the stores.
projects are always good!
Hubby was pleased i finished early today so I made a start on spring cleaning!!
That's so sweet. I was one of those skinny kids once.
Hello Everyone -- just passing through right now -- 30 min break means no real time for much of anything
Cait, is his finger all healed up by now?
I was NEVER one of those skinny kids LOL
de 5/16 ??
Hey, GW!
I was also a skinny minnie until I was about 30 -- fortunately I could sew and made all my clothes.
de 5/16 - de + a *** of sunshine
Hi chic!
congrats cybernan! Ive got down to 14 without the list - but am hitting the wall now!!!! Will persevere for a bit. The g's are bugging me - got go6, go4 and go5 - what am I missing?
Safety pins were my friends in those days. Everything looked like a balloon on me. I'm glad you're treating yourself to something nice, Caitlyn. Like cleaning.....
thnxs bunnylicious
Hi GW -- easy one today!
Skinny kids suck!
debating starting or not -- I have plans tonight that may preclude getting back to finish
Hi Grey.......bunny his finger is as good as it gets now He doesnt have feeling in the tip of it, but at least it was saved. He can still do decorating!!!
Grey, it is a pretty smooth puzzle today!
My granddaughter gets teased at school about being "pinned" -- the reason I'm sewing for her.
Why, thank you Cappie, that's lovely of you.
gu 4/10
That's good to hear. Cyber, I just buy my daughters and pull in the seams a bit, I'm too lazy to sew a complete pair, lol.
Saving a kid from being teased is wonderful, cybernan.
gu 4/10 - the Gu** of Mexico, inset body of water
Thanks for the insight, folks... I guess I will start, but later -- with half my break gone at this point -- I'd have to stop while on a roll and I find that more frustrating than not finishing!
thanx rosalind. consider myself severely chastised with the carp of capriciousness, and smelling a little fishy.
your welcome. ;p
and Bunny, thx!!!!
YW
Bunny -- with 5 kids, I don't think that's being lazy!!
I think, GW, this is the kind of puzzle that you could finish in a half hour, tops. (bristles with jealousy)
hi peoples. sneaking in a little babble time at the office while things are slow. glad i did - i'm seeing some great clues in the log!
I have 6!!
Off with needle and thread -- good luck all -- back at the flip. :)
TY Cyber, I'm a short - cuttin' mommy if there ever was one!
your welcome dachef glad I could help I normally just sit and play babble and ask for clues.
Hi cliff
ginger, kids or words?!
mab -- I think you give me too much credit -- after all, I may be a quick typer, but not THAT fast :D
cliffopa: is that your other kitty? Very handsome.
kids!!!!!
I don't know, GW, you're pretty snappy.
Geez Ginger, we must have been drinking from the same well. I like to think of my husband as a 6th child at times...
that is Zoey, otherwise known as "little miss trouble" she is only around 3. I'm not used to young cats. she has lots of personality.
LOL Bunny
So for those who weren't here on Saturday -- I started a new thread over in the Other Interests category on BabAnon -- I am compiling a list of the tools that are a must have in the ultimate monster fighting kit, along with an explanation of which of the baddies they are effective against. Please feel free to add, commment, or critique. :)
mab -- Thank you for the compliment (*hug*)
Oh, let me change my adjective then. Very pretty! I love high-spirited, clever cats. I love my two, but, honestly, not a lot of brainpower there.
i'm missing a y. i have: ya 4/7 ya 5/16 2 ye 4/6 ye 5/14 yi 5/22 what can't i see?
ya 4/6
ya4 - same as the other ya4, change last letter.;)
rhymes with hair and bear
Hey Grey shall we add my singing voice.....it can make a grown man cry so should be a good weapon !!
But time for me to go -- I have one more stop here in cyberspace before I have to return to the wonderful world of batteries... I will try to be back tonight, but if not I will see folks tomorrow! (*Hugs to all*)
Bye gw.
Bye Grey! LOL, Cait, I have a light saber believe it or not. Just call me a geek now and get it over with.
GW - have fun with the batteries. <stifles smirk>
thanks for the y hints. i got it!
bye
bunny I think you need to get out more LOL
It was a Christmas present, I'm a big Star Wars fan, I actually cried THREE times when the third one came out. My husband was so proud!
Mab - i hear we are in for some rain in the northeast. any sign of it yet down there?
LOL bunny
there's rain here in ct, a drizzle
I cried during Ep3 too bunny. Twas sad that Ani didn't finish the job on Obi-wan and Yoda.
where's nut? been expecting to see her...
normally i wouldn't want rain, but we're starting to have brush fires and forest fires up my way (and i leave near a state forest!)
where are you, cliffopa?
good morning all.
I believe rain is predicted, and it is going to be quite cool for a few days. We need the rain due to the paucity of snow this winter.
i'm in central NH - close to Lake Winnipesaukee. close to Gunstock Ski Area.
Hi boreetos
how many words
Oh Capone, that was evil!! Yoda is my hero!!
boreeeeeetos!
119 words today
small grid today, how evil is it?
thanks
paucity! one of my favorite words. i used to listen to tapes designed to improve vocabulary. sort of useless now, my animals and husband don't understand big words or unusual words.
Nice grid today
hooray for big and unusual words!
Not too, boreetos. Gorgeous shoe, hurshy. I want it. And the one that matches.
Two re-words have me totally stumped: re 5/12 (the second one) and re 6/21 (first one but right after the 5/12). can you help me???
you don't have to be rich, just smart... wait a sec, Ikea isn't a word. :(
anyone got any 6 letter clues... I only have 6 of the 16!
hmmm i have 7 / 16
Im going now hope kiddies are better tomorrow bunny........catch you all tomorrow happy babbling all bye
inge, i think this is the one re - think re***al thermometor, add a loop at the end and plural for the 6
there are quite a few that end in es or ed
Bye Cait, thanks.
Bye caitlyn. And hi, pro inge!
re5/12: Really Entertaining Christmas was Totally Orange!
dachef sort off used a word, dachef sort of....and so on. Intentionally too, I might point out.
ce6/24 fe6/30 re6/21 se6/21 st6/30 tr6/30 ul6/24
;D
TY for the list!!!! and hints
thanks for the re clues. It worked. Only need two more words, but got to go water excercising first. See you later.
water exercising? Is that where you take a bucket of water for a walk?
oops, left out cr6/21
Very funny Dachef. The ladies will love your idea. Bye
and dr6/36
don't be silly dachef - can't you see that she's webbed of foot and hand? She'll wrinkle if she stays away from water too long.
dr6/42 is same as dr6 just above it but the last letter changes to "sometimes vowel"
nut will surely love your icon, une.
:-D
6's: ce6/24 cr6/21 dr6/3 6 dr6/42 er6/21 x 2 fe6/30 fo6/33 go6/33 re6 /21 x 2 se6/21 st6/30 tr6/30 ul6 /30 missing one!!!!!
die a tragic death did yoda deserve...the power of the darkside missed the boat on that one!
there are two fe 6/30's
Now how could you choos the little green flippy guy over Stumpy Vader?
i'll be back at lunch kids. :)
Bye boreeetos
hmmmm... I can't find any of the dr/6 .. anyone enlighten me further
ty Bunny!!!!!
This no-list craze reminds me of the old pre-list days. Hey Dachef there's no connection between your battery smirk and your re clue, is there? (smirk smirk)
the dr 6'2 rhyme with the green ogre character from Pixar, one is plural, one ends in sometimes vowel
dr6: d+ re5/20. Change the last latter for t'other!
yeah, I meant dr 6's...
hello everyone!
mab, not sure what you're insinuating that I'm insinuating, but yeah, problee. ;D
hi TO..again... still no eva
<--- always roots for the bad guy. Ask TSM. She lost my restoration spec'd night elf druid who's one goal in life was to keep his party healed and de-cursed to a shadow spec'd undead priest that lives to mind control people off a cliff and melt faces!
Yo temple! You win the prize for most popular icon of the day.
Ginger the dr is like the last bit of wine in a barrel, but with a different sound at the end. It can be plural or have a likeish cons/vowel on the end.
Hmmm, ruling with a Liche. I like the hero's of the story, like the drow Drizzt Do' Urden. Leave my husband for that one I would.
ty
gotta go bath the kids, back soon! I WILL finish this one!!!
Bye Ginger.
Later Ginger.
What server ya'll using, my husband plays in Neverwinter. I can't find one I like, but if there is one that melts faces... Neverwinter 2 raphics look like they'll be pretty good....
oh, mab, i am glad you like my shoe. i picked it because they said the first book was one for the money, which of course is the beginning of... blue suede shoes!
since i haven't read any evanovich, i put my own spin on it :)
Gotta fix lunch for the sickies, see ya'll tomorrow.
missing an o. got the one that determines what your winnings are at the track.
yi5/22 clue, please?
bye bunny! : )
cliffopa, more strange
ti 5/22 - Used to express mild fear or surprise, rhymes with the st's
temple - it's an interjection. "yi5! you have a nasty cut..." that sort of thing.
add a past tense to the o that you have, meaning more strange
Bye
yi5: an announcement of surprise! "Im down to 4 words without using the list! Yi***!"
How wonderfully associative hurshy. I've not read her either (although I would like to) so I picked a woman in shadow. She actually looks more like a girl though.
it's the new babble slogan (very ironic sounding)... BE LISTLESS
thanks dachef... : )
i'm listless every monday...
re 6/21 clues ...i already have the one that sounds like a part of one's butt
so tomorrow is rockets... hmm... wish i had a picture of the one i made for science class in 6th grade - we all made them from kits and then decorated them and launched them. mine, of course, was called the Enterprise.
re 6/21 add se 4/5
...looking, thanks for the clue.

or, dachef, there are two related st7's
silly dachef :) it sounds like you may be asking for a fish soon
thanks was going mad
s's you might overlook: sa 4/5, se 5/10
<dons rather sexy looking speedos and belly flops straight into the fishpond> TA!!!!!!
t you might overlook: second to 4/5
gross, thanks for the mental
for your f, if you have scottish "from", and you're only missing one f, i'd run a plural/past tense check...
hope i've guessed what you need correctly, dachef, for i must be off to class!
I am missing the re6/21. Any clue appreciated
hi all ;) how many words today?
nother word for anal, change a vowel

boreetos, it's in honor of evanonut, she realy digs these books...
well i guess it's to boggle for the rest of the day....
i see. I've never read any of them but I've seen them at book stores and always thought how limiting it must be to have to title your books in such a way. how about a JK Rowling appreciation day?
i guess that explains her name too. :)
boreetos - we have scheduled a harry potter day :)
congrats temple owl

Boys - to utter again
Thanks Bugs
what is with the ke4/11? I think I have tried every combo there is --- the points only add up one way.
Go Cliffopa! Also, TSM, my morning (all-day) sickness was pretty bad - my OB prescribed a pre-natal vitamin that had an anti-nausea effect - it saved me!!

Thank you my Queen... *bows*

Too late now Jera, I've started :p Well done :)
Maybe it's just me... I felt like there was a very high percentage of mony words today... maybe my vocabulary is not as good as I thought!

yes chic, i've hidden him in my attic.
i also have a morellie, and one that could either be morelli or ranger.
Who is it? and now you're talking, are you gonna keep him?
ooo, let's see Morelli...
Hello again. I need help with the last 2 REs. The re 6/ 21 re 7/ 32 Thanks.

c'mon guys, sexxxxxxxy! i'm tellin ya, he's totally morelli.
hi evanonut ... knew you'd be lovin this day today! Did you see the new one, 12 Sharp, will be out on June 20? I'm a huge fan, too, and have read them all. :)

Oh that's just me that's old.... everybody looks too young!
okay chix, i'll bring in the one that could really be morelli or ranger.
That's awesome !! She was here a few months back at the local Borders, but I had to be out of town and missed seeing her.
chix , changed my mind, ranger only - REFRESH
man, i would love to do lunch with her!
Tell you who I visualize as Ranger -- Steven Segal. The dark, brooding look and the slicked back ponytail thing just says "Ranger" to me :)
OH YES!!! and who is he and how can I get one?
ugh - he's so dirty cathy, how could you?
chic, he's an orlando bloom, they're really rare, i keep that one in the close.
Dirty? Guess I didn't think of him that way.
ewe, he's to old now anyway.
steven segal about 20 yrs ago....maybe
DONE!
who is this nut?
couldn't find the rock
Yea, you're right. :) :)
rangers still in his prime, lots of wild oats to...er i mean, easy on the eye.
re5/12 and the re6/21 right after it please
ren, it's orlando bloom * sigh *
Right, Bloom, looks different in every movie I see him. He's kinda slight. He'd have to beef up for the part. Ranger has muscles that go on and on and on....
Congratulations Brenn, well done
ewe, muscles that go on and on, no no nonononono
Congrats, brenn! re 5/12 and re 6 sound like something to do with your butt....

* looks at closet door where she has orlando stashed *
wellll...he's cute....let's have a few more casting sessions - shall we????
no no ren, orland was for ranger, i suggested stiffler for morelli.
why not orlando for morelli??? and the rock for ranger?
try for another Morelli is what Ren is saying...
the only other one was a suggestion for stephanie, hang on, i stuck her in the bread box.
okay, stephanie is up, the most attituded actress i could think of.
missing a to4/5 - I have "I t*** you so"
She can definitely do the schtick, high hair and the jersey accent....
I can definitely see her for Stephanie -- in fact, it's who I'd pick too ... but I'm not sure on the Stiffler as Morelli idea.
peri, drop the 'd' and the last vowel....
yes...she's stepahnie!
actually, i think i should be stephanie, but since i'm not about to be cast, sandra can have it.
chic, thanks, another new word for me
need help with the UL words, I don't have any of them :(
we should send Sandra B. a letter and tell her to produce the Stephanie series for us...
dunno, think i'm already working on getting restraining orders from some famous people. *shoves orlando back into the closet*
a few of the ul's are related to a stomach that's stressed out gets them...
peri -- ul words are related -- nervous stomach disorder
found the ul5 and ul6,
I believe you, 'nut!
found the ul7 also before I saw the clues, but thanks anyway.
peri, think past tense...
ul 7 -- past tense

now that's the ticket ren! i brought back ranger, nothing against ms. bullock, but if i must pick, then...
thanks cathy, this one wasn't as bad as it looked this morning. I got most of the words myself. It gets tedious when I have to ask for clue after clue .
congrats to you too epi.
thanks for the help.
evanonut -- any discussions about Lula? I think Queen Latifah could do her quite well :) :)
i think she could cathy!
quite well cathy, or if rosanne could change races.
right ... isn't it funny we can seen to pick out and agree on female roles quite easily. We all just have our different Ranger and Morelli fantasies :) :)
just getting back on... hi all! YAY periwinkle! YAY epitone!
hi
hi stidmama -- evanonut's been auditioning actors & actresses for us for the Stephanie Plum mini series :)

NO!
nut, oh pleeeeeeeeeease nut! he's sooooo cute. and kinda tough in the non comedy stuff. please just look!!! please please please!
8-O........;-(-------------
seriously ren, theres nothing tough or scary about him. he'd never look scary in a leather coat in a bar.
Hi folks. I've just been back to a music thread of mine on a site I haven't visited for a while. I'd heard the censorship/moderation had got worse since the site had been sold but I think that in mentioned David Essex and then finding my post turned into David Es*** is a bit much!
no no nononononononoooooooooooooooo
stiffler was a way better choice.
hi Jacula -- that's ridiculous
8;-(-------------------------- --------------------
there, there renfield...
pouting doesn't work with me, i'm casting this stinking movie, and i didn't kidnap stiffler for nothing.
nutttt said NO..........;-O--------------- --
well, nut said no. why don't you make your own movie? then you could cast the way you like. of course you'd have to find a way to pay for it all...
goofy looking guys need not apply.
Hi Ren & Nut - I'm keeping out of it since I've never read any Janet E. stuff. Stidmama - Truly ridiculous. Thing is, on that site, you can't say 'penis' but you can use lots of rude words for it! Oh, you can't mention Pakistan either, that turns into *****tan.
<---- now ranger here....;->
he can apply to be my 'personal assistant'
Sorry! Had to have my rant here as if I rant on the other site it'll simply be deleted. LOL.
Jacula, rant away! after all, ruder words have shown up in the grid!
nut -- you just want him to give you the look and say "babe" :) :)
True! Did anyone see my little story about the swearing parrot much earlier on in the log (UK afternoon)?
* swoons at mental image ren planted in her head *
quick ren! while nut's not looking!
what mental image?????
sorry, was cath that planted it, i'm recovered now!
ren -- I think she's swooning over the mental image I gave her. See, she can't even keep us apart :)
it's the blue cathy
*waving* Hi all - hope everyone is having a good evening!
* fans vigorously * is it hot in here?
compose yourself, evanonut. I'll try not to do that again :)
hi circe... good enough evening. it's raining here.
sorry to hear that stid. It was snowing here today, sooo...pick your poison???
maybe if i think about other things. like my microwave, yes, such a lovely microwave.
okay, off to make dinner. BBL!
Any help for my last words: re5/12, 6/21, 6/21, and 7/32? Please?
'Bye Stidmama. Where's Ren got to?
re5/12 - opposite of verso.
so, I assumed today's theme was evanovich and ran out and got myself a plum...but now I am wondering if maybe it reading day ??
re6/21 - plural of that word. (Means the right-hand pages of books.)
re 5/12 and the 6/21 immediately after (the plural): think of an oblong squarish shape (first four letters) + round vowel
circ, totally evanovich, love the plum
you did good circe...
re6/21 - to cut again.
re7/32 - cuts again.
oh goody - I do like to be in vogue and thank you!
next 6/21 is something surgeons do to intestines that are bad, then plural; re + se 4/5
circe -- your plum's a great one.
okay, outta here.
Thanks, Jac! Finished!! Now I can rest.
You're welcome, Gwenski.

This is you, Ren: Grandma Mazur is based on Janet's Aunt Lena. Fred is based on her husband, Uncle Mickey. Uncle Mickey really did poke his eye out while cleaning his bayonet. And he really did latch hook rugs.
nut, ren -- how about this guy for morelli and johnny depp for ranger? granted: I haven't read the books except for the 8 pages of the new one, but....whadayathink?
Ren - I've not read any Janet Evanovich books but I'll certainly be looking out for her after looking on her web site. Sounds like fun.
mab - who is he????
Evening, all. Is it Janet Evanovich night?
Ren - Here's a quote from Ranger: "Last time you called me late at night you were naked and chained to your shower curtain rod. I hope this isn't going to be disappointing." -- Ranger

Ren - I've refreshed now and so I can see you were asking Mab who the guy in her icon is, not who Ranger is. *Slaps self with fish.*
lol mistress...slap self w/ ranger!
Merk - you have all the fe4 words.
It is the only one I have left to do and I have my ten year old nephew sitting here helping me and he should be getting ready for bed. Please help ... a clue ... how many points is it worth?\
Ranger. Joe. Ranger. Joe. Ranger. Joe. I need some ice cream and cheesecake.
Merl - fo4/8 - vile. fo4/11 - hen, duck, goose etc. fr4/7 - Scots for 'from'. fr4/9 - what fabric edges do if you don't seam them.
Merk - do you have the fo4/8 (yer out, fo4/8 ball) and fo4/11 (chickens, guinea hens, quail, ducks, geese)?
Charm, i have that same predicament. i can't pick one either.
one day joe...one day ranger...one day joe...one day ranger....
Smaller, if I looked like Stephanie, I might have the same problem, too. Instead, I'm more like grandma Mazur and her cronies, except my life is not so exciting. So ice cream and cheesecake are about it.
hahahahaha! ever the diplomat, ren!
Goodness me! Female hormones seem to be running rampant on the log tonight!:-)
I know it is an fe word of four letters length. There are four words and I have three of them: fe 4/7 twice and an fe 4/12. I need fe 4/?
and chocolate, chocolate, chocolate.....
Speaking of hormones, I also love Adam Dalgliesh and Inspector Alleyn.
Charm, grandma mazur gets a TON of action!!! Jacula, i need something to compensate for the coffee and chocolate i gave up today
Merk - I assure you that there are only 3 fe4 words.
go charm!!!!!!!!! and who else?
Merk, there are only 3 FE4's.
archie goodwin?
hi all. I've been lurking on and off all day.
I went to BlabberAnonymous and they said there that there were four fe. There are 119 words and I have 118.
hi angelsong!
Merk, you're my favorite chemical index. with a c
Hi Angel.
hey angel.....
Chemical index? Does the fe word rhyme with anything?
Merk - I finished this grid over 12 hours ago now, I think, without stats. However, I've just been into BabAnon and checked BJ's stats and there are only 3 fe4's. You must be missing something else.
Fiddler & Fiora (a couple, but still....) Lucas Davenport - yum.
Merck Chemical Index. I would have named a child Merck. Sounds cool
OK, I must be dizzy. I am missing a five letter word beginning with fe.
I have two fe 5/16 and one 5/26.
FE5/16 - pl. of the fe4/7 - looks like Fr. for brother minus an 'r'.
first puzzle i've finished! night all
We're done! It was a plural of another one. It sounds like French for father or something.
yay, melly!
Merk - peres. LOL.
"A companion, mate" Hurrah!
good job, melly! good job, merk!
Charm - is Merk a Melanie then?
There are two very elated people here. This is our second day of playing the game and the first day to finish. Can ten year olds become addicted to this, too?
Charm - Scrub that. Just seen Melly's post. Merk - I think anyone can become addicted to Babbling.
Jacula - I think I was responding to Melly126. But congrats to Merk, too! No rush like that first finish....
Charm - Your last comment could apply to a number of 'firsts'. LOL.
yes 10 year olds can become addicted to this my granddaughter is 10 and loves this game. especially when we finish
Jacula - the first ever babble finish. The first time you finish a monster babble - let's say 300 words. The first time you manage without stats. I'm versatile!
LOL cinda! finishing does help the investment!
night all! happy babbling!
Cindasu. Hello. Yes, kids love this game and certainly expand their vocabulary playing it, even if many of the words won't be put to everyday use.
'Night, Smaller. Sleep well.
night smaller. cindasu - and some of the words should definitely NOT grace the vocabulary of a ten year old!
nite smaller she learns lots of words and then looks some up by the ? next to it
Charm - I was about to say that next. Oh well, better they get them explained here than 'on the street', I guess.:-/
that is true but i check the list first before i let her look
sa 5/14?
some of them she has aready heard at school so yes here is sometimes better
sa5/14 - soothsa5/14.
At least that way it can be explained what's okay to use in 'polite company' or at all, and what is NOT.
sa5/14 - one who speaks. Often seen with the word 'sooth' as a prefix.
thanks!
I agree, jacula. But you don't know what kids know (or what you have to explain to them) until they come home with something objectionable. My parents had it easy!
Charm - I remember my son, just after I'd had his sister, and we were going up the steps to playgroup, asking me, 'Mummy. How did the baby get into your tummy?' Fortunately, he was greeted by friends at that point and forgot about it. Then there was the time when he was obsessed by 'the difference' and kept asking, 'Has she got a willy?', 'Has he got a willy?' He once asked me this, very loudly, of a lad of about 13 who was standing at the same bus stop as us. I thought the poor teenager was going to blush himself to death!
Jacula, it's good you can see the humor in it now!
...And then there was the time when my daughter, about 12 at the time, was queueing in a shop with me a couple of people behind a man who was holding a mock leopardskin undies set. 'Mummy!' she yelled. 'Is he a transvestite?' The poor girl serving him could hardly control herself and the rest of the queue was barely managing to. The man paid for his purchases and walked out, head held high. So, who knows??
kids today know so much more than i did at that age and are more aware of the stuff that is around on cd's, movies, computers and all this modern tech so we just have to do the best we can and explain it the way we want them to learn
Charm - I saw the humour in it then! LOL. BTW, my son will be 22 next month and my daughter's just turned 19 last month.
I hate to say it, Jacula. But my friends and I were awfully (and amazingly) naive until we hit our late teens (and left home). How our parents managed that astounds me.
Charm - I wasn't naive by my late teens but certainly was for longer than my own kids were. I'm 49 this month, btw.:-(((((((((
Hi, All, Any hints for the se4/7 or st7/44? Please?
Happy Birthday, then, Jacula. I hope you have a wonderful celebration - full of fun and love. I have a milestone later this year - my 40th! Yikes - when did I become middle-aged???? I'm still a child!
st44 often a forward in football/soccer positioned to score + plural
se5/10 anyone?
Charm, You haven't hit middle-aged yet (blush)...I hear the new middle age is 50... Book
se4/7 - a laborer at the bottom of the feudal system.
bonkler, the se5/10 is the se4/4 with an "i" on the end --book
st 6/44 : bowling...
SE5/10 - se4/4 (que se4/4, se4/4) + vowel.
Done! Booyah!
thanks all!
Sorry. Went off to see to some laundry. I always say, 'How do you know what middle age is until your life has ended?' After all, what you 'middle' age was depends on how long you lived!
bookwyrmish - I don't plan to live to 100! Not in my genes. And not in my lifestyle, either....
ewww, Jacula, let's not use language like that. 'laundry' shiver, shudder, cringe.
Ooh, sorry Charm! Would you prefer I told the story of the foul-mouthed parrot instead?
probably. Let's hear it.
Okay. My son was watching a TV prog earlier about 'The World's Worst Pets'. Someone had a parrot with the foulest beak in the world. The 'expert' decided to teach it to swear in Norwegian 'instead', as it would offend less people (since not many people speak Norwegian). I guess you can guess the outcome...?
silent dog laughter....
Yep. The owner ended up with a parrot that was not only prolific at swearing in English but also in Norwegian.
The kids are all in bed ... I'm babysitting this week ... we have the puzzle finished and I'm ready to hit the sack, too. Thanks for all of your help. G'night!
Thanks, all, That helped...but... I've got the st44 with the soccer/football position, it's the other st7/44 I need. And I am missing a bunch of re's... Book
Be careful what you wish for. or May all your wishes come true.
...And then, of course, I just *had* to go and check out Norwegian swearwords, which led me to a Swearosaurus section on a site called Insultmonger. Hmm... Many of the Norwegian terms don't sound that different to the English ones when spoken. LOL.
ST7/44 - 3 st7/44 and you're out.
Oiu! Thanks, Charm How I could of missed the plural, I dunno.(Hitting self on forehead)
Book - Do you know which re's? (stats)
Jacula - oh, the joys of the internet. When we were young(er), we would have had to ask our parents to take us to the library, then ask the librarian where to find the English-Norwegian dictionary, and start looking up each swear word we could think of.... Kids today have it far too easy.
bookwyrmish - you will learn, double-time, to make everything plural, no matter where (or if) the 's' is!
The amount of times we Babblers hit ourselves on the forehead, should there be a convention we'll all turn up looking like unicorns!:-)
Jacula, too many (blush). Re4/9, 5/20, 5/12, 6/21, 6/21, and 7'32 book
re4/9 - the "Minnow" was a shipwre**.
re4/9 and plural 5/20 - To take heed of or to have caution. (Sounds more like a ship on the rocks though.)
RE5/20 - pl. of the re4/9.
re5/12 & plural 6/21 - opposite of verso. (Right-hand page of a book.)
re6/21 & verb form 7. To cut and to cut again. Or try re + se4 (religious cult).
RE6/21 - re + cult (or breakaway group in a religion). re7 is pl.
dr 6/42 please, and then I just have to find ONE more (but I've been over Bab Annon twice and can't see it...)
dr6/42 - trashy.
dr6/42 = dr5/22 + sometime vowel.
Firefly - that's the beauty of going 'pro' on Babble. If you've got one word missing you can, at least, see which letter is begins with.
Woo Hoo--thanks all. You really helped!
congratulations!
Does Bookwyrmish get fireworks?
since we're purging re clues, would anyone have an re4/6 i could borrow?
If bookwyrmish wants fireworks, she needs to scroll back to the Janet Evanovich discussion....
I guess he/she? does. *~*~*~*~*FIREWORKS FOR BOOKWYRMISH*~*~*~*~
nevermind monkey found it
well done bookwyrm!!
re4/6 - russet color + double end consonant.
Bonkler - as I'm constantly telling my kids, you cannot 'borrow' something that you will ultimately keep. LOL.
Umm, Not trying to false advertise here...I still am at 114 words. But the re clues really sealed that section. Book (a "she", actually)
Charm! I see those female hormones are still bouncing around. LOL.
thanks for the help, and my husband helped me find my missing word....so now what's supposed to happen?? this is my first finish, and I have 119 words, but nothing happened...
Hey Jac: What are you doing?
Jac chucks a bucket of water over the fireworks for Book. She can have them when she's finished! LOL. Wht do you still need, Book?
Jacula, I need some chocolate to counteract the effects of the hormones roiling madly.
Suddenly a lurker up way past his bedtime leaps forward to issue hearty and significant FIRWORKS for firefly's first finish!!!!!!!!!!! ******* )**************
Yay, firefly!
Heh. Firworks. An accidental bonfire. meant fireworks, but firworks will do.
any other clues for se 5/10 ...
*~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR FIREFLY*~*~*~*~* and one of those bangers that used to chase girls around the garden (crackerjack or something? name escapes me now) for her hubby.
Um,besides sanity... er5/12, er6/21, and ky 4/10, ky 5/22
beazus, add the 3rd vowel to the se4/4 just before it...
Jac - who works in a roundabout capacity for the UK Fire Brigade - douses the accidental Leylandii hedge fire (Yay! Burn 'em all!) that Firworks unintentionally started.
er5/12 - stand up straight (or to raise a building). er6 is pl.
Charm - you only posted that to use a Babble word! LOL.
thanks ch ...looking
Thanks, Charm! Got 'em
thanks for the FIREWORKS and the FIRWORKS...LOL so, should my screen change at all, tell me I'm done or anything?? it still lets me try words even though I'm done...I don't get it
ky 4/10 -- cocoanut fiber, or the cordage made from it... then plural.
I mean, roiling, btw, Charm.
all finished, in spite of doing errands this morning and working until 8:30 PM.
Roiling is a great word, jacula. One of those that you just can't seem to slip into everyday conversation!
Jojo - Hello. I'm chatting on Babble. What are you doing?
is there only one se 4/4 in this grid?
Congratulations, Angelsong!
beazus - yes, only the one.
beazus, no, but they use the same 4 letters. book
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR ANGELSONG*~*~*~*~
thanks ...looking again.
no, there are more than one. You want the one that follows Doris Day's old song, que se**, se** ...
There are 2 SE4/4: (a) fr. for to be (think of the song que se4/4, se/4). and (b) dry, as the desert.
ty, Jacs.
Jac: Trying to work on the grid 2nite. Sounds kinda like, when reading the chat, that possibly, and I mean possibly, people are sipping grape juice, or better?
ch1212 - yes, you are right. I looked at my word list too quickly. Both mean much the same thing.
the doris day hint was the ticket ...THANKS!!!
Actually, now I look, I see three se 4/4-- To se** the meat on the grill Que se**, as the old song goes, and s plus to get there before, book
you're welcome, beazus... jacula, I like your icon - it's sweet :)
ch1212 - my icon is Stanley Plum.
ahhh, of course. Clever.
please, I gotta get off here, but should something happen when I finish??
firefly, as long as you see 119 words on this, you're good to go! Congrats!
book ...any other clues on that third se 4/4 you mention?
ok, thanks then
Firefly779, I'm a newbie, too, but I don't think so. When next you look at Player rankings, though, you ought to see a difference. Firefly--are you a Whedon series fan? Book
Jojo - grape juice is far too sweet for me, though fermented white grapes in the form of dry white wine would be better.. Cappuccino isthe tipple right now. Can't speak for the others.
I'm off too -- nite all. Till tomorrow -- rocket day!
nite-nite, ch1212. Jacula - no tippling while babbling. might hurt myself.
yes, but ERE I get to that..
Yes, ch1212, Rocket Day. Had my icon reead for that for a while. Sleep well.
got it book ;-)
Charm. LOL.
thanks!
book - nope i'm outtie
Jac: Cappuccino, right? So you all are juiced up on coffee? What a buzz just before you all go nitenite. Good luck sleeping unless it is decaf. What part of Canada are you living?
Beazus, It's nice to help someone else for a change! I actually have DONE it... Someone get those fireworks back out... Woo Hoo!
ce5/14? i'm stumped and monkeyed out.
congrats! *********@@@@******* best fireworks i could muster.
Jojo - I'm in Worcestershire in the UK, as my profile will tell you. I'm not sure what you mean by 'all juiced up'.
Yay, bookwyrmish - I seem to be repeating myself.
got it!
ce5/14=ce4/5 past tense
Bonkler - ce5 is past tense of ce4.
bonkler, add a consonant to the end of ce4/5
Jac: Juiced up means wired because of the caffeine. Sorry mistook your flag. I apologize. I am in Seattle.
are there any other w words aside from wo 5/22 ...already have that one.
Only 1 W.
Jojo - Not 'Sleepless in Seattle', I hope? Sorry! Everyone in Seattle must be sick to death of hearing that 'joke'!
thanks charm.
beazus, No other w words at all. Do you know about clicking on Babbler's Anonymous on the right here, then clicking on "stats puzzle" to see a great listing on the stats of the words to find in the puzzle? Whoever puts that up is SUPER.
thanks again book ...i had seen the link over there, but never bothered checking it out. will do so right now.
Cool. Thanks again all, I'd better turn it in..hubby looks lonely. Bookwyrm
Am TWO away from finishing my first...pleading for hints on: sk5/18 and ke4/11 (in trade for past assistance)
sk5/18 - men would far rather a woman wore this (short!) than jeans!
sk 5/18 ...another word for dress
Jac: No, it was a good movie. No not sleepless, but water logged. Raining AGAIN!
ke 4/11 rhymes with a brand of soft toys (footballs and such)
KE4/11 - "A groove or notch made by a cutting tool, such as a saw or an ax." Same ending as the se4/7 meaning feudal laborer.
Oy...surely we all feel so dumb when those last are found...and ke4/11?
done. done at last! time to fall over sideways and snore. nite all.
ke4/11 - change first letter of se4/7 (old servant/slave). True meaning is (if you are interested): A groove or notch made by a cutting tool, such as a saw or an axe.
ke 4/11 ryhymes with nerf and makes no sense to me.. Night again really this time
I WIN! And I learned something wordwise -- thanks to all. Maybe next time I'm home sick I can make it again :-)
JoJo - does your place flood like mine does then?
Going to bed now...night and thanks again, all.
jfarber - don't go without telling us where you're homesick for! Or kind of 'who' you are. Come back anytime though.
Jac: No floods, just no working in my yard when I want to. And, I always take an bumble shoot when they forecast rain.
Jojo - what work do you do in your yard?
Hello, All! How many words today?
reds
119 words today.
Hi all! JoJo...the rain is not all that bad if you have new sod that needs water like me (tee hee)
i got all of emm i thinlk
Words Total = 119 --- --- Total Score = 1686 --- --- Word Sizes --- 4 - 59 5 - 37 6 - 16 7 - 6 8 - 1 --- 1st Letter Count --- A - 3 C - 12 D - 14 E - 11 F - 15 G - 4 I - 1 K - 5 L - 2 O - 2 R - 15 S - 18 T - 5 U - 4 W - 1 Y - 7
and then since I just started and I had to go make sure sod wasn't in the puzzle as it often is...though it is, I think I'm still safe. whew! :)
Kristinc - 'sod' would never be in the puzzle, though soda, sods, sodden and so on might. LOL.
exactly, I was hoping we didn't have resod, etc.
Jac: I have a huge dahlia garden and flowers all over. I have to get them in, but will wait until the last frost is deemed to be over, which here is April 10th. We have an acre and 1/2 of land, and love it. Been here for 33 years, but will have to sell soon. Hubby getting older, can't do a lot of work on our house. Our son wants us to move out by him which is approx. 50 miles from here. Thinking about it. BUT, I love my house, but time marches on.
JoJo - You know what I'm going to say, I'm sure. Don't let your son dictate to you. You and hubby move if and when you both feel ready.
JoJo...you do have a lot of land. No wonder your property taxes are so high. Is there a way you could sell off part of your land, or would that just not be the same?
Kristinc: No, not a lot, but I hear we are going to get it soon. But, it makes everything green. So, I am thankful for that. Just wish I could store it up for the hotter summers.
Kristinc - no re-turfing today, though you can re utter.
Thanks, Jacula.
y/w, Playwoman.
hi all -- checking in quickly while I do email and some work. JoJo, saw your post about your yard and dahlias. I have over 100 feet of dahlias, but don't have to lift them every year -- it stays warm enough where we live. I know that the tie to the land is very strong, though we've been here only 6 years, I cannot imagine leaving.
Jac: No, our son is good, he is not trying to dictate to us anything, nor our daughter. But, we do have to listen to all of them. They both are successful, and I value their opinions. It is just that our son and daughter wants to have us closer to them, and that I appreciate mostly.
Jac...look out, you now have a northwest US threesome on the chat! We're wild women you know ;)
meaning JoJo, Stidmama and I
I can't comment re land sizes, since I am in UK. My last house had lots of garden (but not by US or Canadian standards) but very little house. My present place, been in it for about 25 years now, has a much smaller garden, but still 'big' by new UK house standards.
Stidmama: Wow, you have more dahlia's than I. I don't dig them up every year either. When I get more foliage than flowers, I dig them up. That normally is about every 4 years.
Kristinc - I'm now hearing that old song 'Wine and Whiskey and Wild, Wild Women, they'll driver you crazy. They'll driver you insane..' LOL.
Stidma: I just read Kristinc's post, where in the Seattle area are you from?
sure thing Jac LOL
And if I could only just type the word DRIVE right once tonight, I'd be happy! LOL.
Jac: Yea, us nw women are wild... yea right. No, we are all normal, believe it or not. Never tried wild tho, so ????
Yes, I lift mine every three years, just to try to stay ahead... I love them because they're so easy to maintain and so pretty... and no thorns! Like you, we have a large yard (ours is about 1 acre), so we have fruit trees and veggies and other ornamentals as well. I have tried to plan the house and yard to be manageable even as we get older... I have watched too many people face the decision you are; it's hard.
Okay JoJo, I confess...normal here (but really fun nonetheless)
we're actually in the very south sound -- in Thurston county just across the water from Mason county
*what is "normal"?*
Stidmama - you in US call your garden a yard? The yard to us in UK is the paved bit just outside the back of the house, also called a patio.
yes Jacula, in the U.S. a "yard" includes the lawn, gardens, treed areas, patios...
is the last st7 related to the first three?
kristinc; yes -- all have the same root word
help on the O words?
Stidmama - Oh! What is wrong with using the word 'garden'? It's so much more evocative and romantic. Leads you to create so much more.
duh...got it
I agree Jacula, I now hereby refer to my yard as my garden, it is definitely more romantic.
Stidmama: South sound, so, as you said in Thurston county. That is where our son wants us to relocate. His wife sent us this one listing on Hicks lake. What we can get out of this house and buy out there, can leave us a bit to play with. By the way normal, is ~~~ guess I don't know. Except, I don't drink and drive, and love my kids and families immensely, and own and maintain a home, and, work out 5 days a week. What is normal, you tell me.
What are the OD4 that everyone will finish before midnight?
od5/14 - same start as the od4 & means more strange, more weird.
Thank you, Kristinc! If I have managed to introduce the concept of a garden to at least one resident of the USA then I will be happy. Suggested reading for all to inspire is 'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett.
oops just got the end of the list and didn't realize I was posting words left a right...so sorry (my deepest fear, posting words in the log)
Kristinc - at this stage of the game, posting words probably doesn't matter.
make it a 4some for the nw women!
Actually, at one point I was talking to someone and said, "We bought our garden, and then figured out what sort of house to put on it" -- which kind of indicates my priorities! Hicks Lake I think is in Lacey, which is getting pretty crowded (by my standards, I am not a "city" person); but it is a nice area to live in. Being closer to your children is certainly a nice thing -- provided you get along and won't miss your long-time home (friends and neighbors) by moving.
hooray kks! where from?
KKS: Where are you located?
hey there kks -- what area are you from?
in thruston cty also, in yelm.
oops, thurston
sorry to interrupt, ladies, but it's time for me to turn in. See y'all tomorrow. Happy babbling.
Ah yes! Gordon's Nursery! yes, folks, I navigate by where to get plants!
excellent, we camp outside of Yelm every year at the Camp of the Cascades.
yep right down the road from me!
good night Charm. Have a great night.
good night Charm! pleasant dreams.
I was supposed to start another (that is another, not a new) job later. Got word a while ago that the boss has to be off for the day, ferrying his daughter's French exchange student around. Well, seeing as he is doing that, it makes me think he might be a nice chap to work for. New career move for me, one that kind of fell into my lap whenI wasn't looking for it. Seamstress to a tailor. I mean, my Grandad was a master tailor and costume maker, and he taught me... but I never imagined that my daughter chatting about me to someone would make them eager to give me a job!
Stid: Well, our daugher lives in snohomish county, which the property tax is greater than in KC, our son and family live in Dupont, and yes we get along with aboth of them. It is me that hesitates, because I love my house, but we are aging and that is what happens.
cool, only been here about 7 months, where is the camp of hte cascades at? We love to camp. Dont' know how much camping I'll do this summer (6 months preg), but hubby and girls will love it.
dupont as you know is quite pricy, you can get just as nice a place close by to there but a lot less expensive
kks - don't do camping whilst pregnant! I say this from experience.
Jacula, that is an awesome opportunity for you! sounds like a dream job to me!
kks, past Yelm east about 10 miles or so if I remember. Fun times...5 months pregnant here (we're still planning on camping for a night or so in July, am I crazy?)
yeah, i did the first go round at 7 months, won't do that again if I can help it.
kristinc, of course you're crazy! but then, my kids are 13 and 11, and I still won't go camping!
KKS: You are really close to our son. He is off of Mounts Road, behind the Ft Lewis Golf Course. So you are in Thurston, he is in Pierce. Go figure.
Stid - sounds good to me, too.
Jac...cool job opportunity. You'll have to let us know how it going.
kristinc, it depends on how big you are. I simply couldn't get comfortable on the ground and it made for a miserable 3 nights with no sleep. Which you get little of in the last trimester anyways.
anyone else need more clues while we're chatting?
JoJo: yeah, he is probably only 10-15 minutes from me. I go that way to Madigan Hospital for checkups and such.
we think a friend is going to loan us his camper van so I use the word "camping" loosely but we're still leaving it up in the air at this point. First pregnancy, not sure what to expect.
Hiya! I'm back again and almost done. I need some help though with the last 2 ERs. Could someone give me a hint for the er 5/ 12 er 6/ 21 Thanks.
kk - I found that I was desperate for sleep in the first 3 months, okay in the middle 3 and knackered in the last 3.
stid...if you can believe it, I'm finding words and chatting (only on simple grids like this) 2 to go here, thanks though
JoJo, assuming you don't have to move imminently, take some time to look around the area a bit. Lacey might not be your only option...
so survey says, Camping while pregnant: no-1 maybe-1
ok, nice to meet ya'll but I have to go finish a few things before I fall into bed. NIght
KKS: Are you military? Our son and daughter-in-law are in the medical field and have to go to Madigan, and Fort Lewis, plus the St Joe's and TG, all the time.
er5/12 and verb form 6/21 - upright. What builders do when they put a building up. Failing that, think sexually re the male organ.
goodnight kks, thanks for checking in and take care of yourself!
On a bed in a camper shouldn't be anyworse than in your bed. I just don't recommend the outside thing on the earth - not fun!!
bye kks...
is jeffer here tonight? Seems like a lot of folks finished really early today.
Kristinc - like we've all said, it depends how you define 'camping'. I wouldn't do it, whatever way, with no phone lines etc., though.
JoJo: yeah, my hubby is military. can't wait for him to get home soon!!!
a hint on the 8 letter word please and thank you :)
okay, I'm done and off to pack for vacation (leaving in less that 36 hours...hooray!) Thanks for the GARDEN and camping advice everyone. Have a great night.
Stid: No, it isn't imminent. Been talking a # of years about selling, but it is a reality now. Yes, we will be looking around, just have to get out of KC. Isn't it a shame that older people are forced to vacate their homes here in KC, even tho they have lived here for 33 years, because of property tax. That just blows me away.
st 8: people who go on st****
THanks Jacula Got them and can't believe I missed them. As far as camping while pg goes, I find absolutely no problem whatsoever with it. If you are a normal healthy person experiencing a normal healthy pregnancy there shouldn't be a problem at all. Just take the proper precautions like bug repellant and suntan lotion and tons of bottled water. Also make sure your food is well cooked and properly refrigerated. And bring your body pillow. I imagine sleeping on the ground will be even more uncomfortable pg than not pg. And don't forget to have fun!
YAY kristinc! -- good night...
Kristinc: Have a great vacation. Will miss another NW voice.
st8/60 - goal-scoring footballers. (At least here in UK.)
thank you :) stidmama
thanks Minski :) Goodnight others, I may be on tomorrow still.
kks: Pleeze, don't tell me me he is in Iraq. OK, I lied, tell me, is he in Iraq, and when is he coming home?
ditto JoJos post...
The sooner all our soldiers come home from Ir4/8, the better.
agreed, Jacula... armed conflict affects us all.
When will we ever learn that bringing what the people 'want' does not mean they will 'love' us?
DONE!
i suppose when we learn that our children need what they need, more than what they want! Delayed gratification, kindness to those less fortunate, doing one's best at all one does... these are life lessons that too many people don't get.
YAY Minski!
Nuff said! I'm off to get some kip now. Only reason I haven't been there before is that other half is is pain with a bad shoulder and neck. It's been like sleeping on the ocean next to The Titanic going down with all the movements and sound effects. Not being unloving here, as I have tried to help... but when you keep getting woken up... aaaargh!
Now time to check my email then go to bed. It is almost midnight here. NIghty-night.
Jac: Agreed. Bring all our soldier's home, I said that to all my friends a month after they were in the war. Bring our soldiers home, and that is all, including yours and all our allies soldiers.
I love my OH very much. But he's mucking up my sleep pattern something rotten. LOL.
hello stidmama!
Jac: Everyone, from time to time, gets irritated by their mates, no prob.
JoJo - I 'suppose' we all had to interfere, in the political affairs, but we must just get out and let those who may have asked for help get on with it now. I'm off to bed. Titanic or not! Goodnight.x
*waits for the flip*
good night Jacula! hi brennx0r!
Nite Jac: Sweet Dreams!
brenn -- flip is still an hour away...
I know... Just impatient ;)
JoJo, doesn't King County have the deferred property tax thing for people over 65? (assuming you're in that category...) It allows taxes to be paid by heirs (may that be many decades away!) or when the property is sold.
Stid: Yes, but don't want to give my children that burden, that isn't nice, if you know what I mean. I want them to think of us kindly, not that we gave them this tax burden. It is better to just get out and buy something else.
A hint on sk5/18 please? It's my very last word
I understand... it's a horrible thing to do to a family, though -- take away their home when property values escalate!
King County... Washington?
sk 5/18: what ladies wear...
I forgot you're a nw person too brennx0r!
brenn: Yeah, KC Washington. Is it great to live in this county. NOT!!
Thank you!
Wow, I had no idea about that. When was that made a law? It wasn't another Eyman agenda, was it? :P
JoJo -- since our kids were little, every time we go to the Science Center, they yell "King County" as soon as we leave Pierce county because I-5 gets so loud right there...
so debgpi -- did you finish? are fireworks in your future?
Yep, I'm in Seattle. Can't for very much longer though - thinking about getting a house, and there's no way I can afford one in the city.
Brenn: You had no idea about what? About the high property taxes or ???
The property taxes, yeah. *hides because she's a Seattle "newbie"*
Stid: Your kids are right. I travel to Pierce county a lot as well (our son lives in Dupont) and as soon as we leave KC and get into Pierce County, the road get smoother.
property taxes are relatively high all over western washington, but mostly because property values have soared over the last ten years!
I may just end up getting a house in Duvall or wherabouts - I hear the prices are much cheaper.
... and by living there I could, say, raise sheep and make yarn :)
Brenn: Eyeman is NOT the guy that raises the taxes, he is the one who is trying to lower the taxes. Not only the property taxes, but also the car tabs. Years ago before Eyeman came into the picture, I paid for 1997 Explorer $600 + for car tabs. He got it down to $30+. I will vote for Eyeman's initiatives anyday.
yes, prices are cheaper the further you get from the city, but of course commute times increase! *if* we ever moved closer to a city, I would make sure public transportation was available!
right now, we live only about 20 minutes from Tom's work, so it's not bad, hoping we never have to leave our garden!
Nite all, 24 is on.
good night JoJo, see you tomorrow!
mmm, garden! Night JoJo!
brenn -- what kind of work do you do, that you dream of sheep and gardens?
I do like my current commute, but don't mind at all making that longer if there's a nice house / yard to come home to. :)
I do something that's the complete polar opposite - I'm a software test engineer. I like it, but I do have a soft spot for gardening and knitting / spinning.
sounds like you're pretty well rounded! My Tom is a database-type guy, also has done sysadmin and such... I'm a "geekette" and play around with html and perlscript and css, but don't have the interest in the more nitty-gritty. I am more a humanities person...
Big ups to the geekettes! It's awesome that you have dived into scripting languages - I'm sure your hubby would be proud.
anyone on right now who needs clues? I'll chat until the flip, but have finished, so ask away!
The LIckety's Babble clues are SUPER helpful! Used them for the first time today and was able to finish with plenty of time to spare.
Stidmama, what types of plants do you grow?
Yes, Lickety's are great -- also Babbler Anon (but the clues weren't up today, hope BJ is okay); and some days I use the extra resources on Angelsong's page... but didn't need them today (i am so proud of myself)
how many words today?
I got really stuck by the ud and re words. (Still grumpy that they don't accept udon, but they accept taco)
gave a short list of my garden earlier, but since you asked (last time you'll make that mistake!): flowers: lots and lots -- dahlias, daisies, roses, lilacs, wildflowers of all kinds, hostas...
119 words
119 words today, Owl. It wasn't too bad, though I finished in under two hours for the first time!
Ahhh, I love hostas. They must be really hardy up here.
fruit trees: cherry, apple, pear, plum, peach, nectarine, mulberry, quince (and someday an almond tree)...
2 hours? Wowsa!
yes, the hostas do fine, I keep mine on the north side of the house so they don't get too warm in the summer.
other fruit, some native and pre-existing: huckleberries, salmonberries, thimbleberries, blackberries (both native trailers and the Himalayans), raspberries, strawberries, blueberries...
Be right back... boyfriend calls.
and veggies: varies from year to year, but always have asparagus, carrots, kale and potatoes.
Wow, that's a lot of fruit! How big is your yard anyhow?
Ah, you're making me drool!
we have an acre, about 1/3 is devoted to deliberate garden, 1/3 to house and its necessaries (septic, drive, well), 1/3 remains treed - third growth timber
i dreamed of my yard for years -- the house is more an afterthought... and remains so (terrible housekeeper)
Oh wow. Man, I would love to have that much space. I could *maybe* get away with container gardening right now, and only then it would have to be for things that have shallow rootballs, and perhaps some main herbs like basil, oregano, and rosemary.
i should confess, though, I garden the laissez-faire way... if the weather is just too nasty the garden has to take care of itself, and anything that can't survive wasn't meant to be!
brenn -- in King County, there are community gardens, I think the "Tilth" group runs them. You could maybe get some ground there for the bigger items.
I think that's a sane way to go - I'll bet there are times where it gets a little too soggy to be very productive. Also, it seems that everything and the kitchen sink grows here...
I thought about doing that, but it seems that the ones close to my apartment have waiting lists :/
yes, when it rains (8 or 9 months a year where we live), the soil (read: clay) is just too wet and wo*** compact, so we really have to back off! where do you hail from originally?
gah, brb again
and get on the waiting list already!
I only have 8 to find o so near and yet so far... has nyone a clue for se5/10?
ps -- honesty compells me to add that I have at least as many "misplaced plants" (weeds) as deliberate and tended ones! I only worry about the ones that are invasive or in the way, though!
se 5/10: it's the previous word with the third vowel at the end. I think it's a conjugation in the French
se5/10 same as one before + i
hi oggy! is it morning yet?
yes 5.25am i have work at 6
oh, that's early! at least it's getting light earlier these days!
Thanks to Stidmama!! six left.
its still dark at the moment. another weel and its will be lighter.
go mklein! you can do it!
Stidmama: Las Vegas for 11 years, and Bermuda for 8. Can't grow hardly anything in Vegas!
not many of you still awake by the look of the post names.
no, the puzzle was so easy today that a lot of people just drifted away. I did for several hours, but like to sit in at the end and help if anyone needs it.
What was Bermuda like? Like in Puerto Rico a couple years when I was very young, never have adjusted to life back on the continent!
Never been to Vegas, but I don't much care for desert, and still less for cities!
Does it seem like the re prefixes were super difficult this time around?
bleh. yes, well so many of them weren't actually prefixes this time! that confused me (not hard to do)
Vegas is a town you can miss altogether. Miserable cold winters, and miserable hot summers. And the people aren't too friendly, either. Bermuda's fantastic though - highly recommend for vacation, even if it's a little spendy (one week for you and the Mr will be about $3000). Very friendly people, and great beaches. Don't go in the winter months though - the weather then is much like Seattle in the fall.
vacation? what's that? (grin) we don't go many places these days, with the garden, the kids and the dogs... but someday!
I meant to get back to this earlier in the day...only 69 words and it's starting to get hard...
You can do it bandm!
hi bandm -- yes, I found the same thing. ask if you need clues, that's what i'm hanging around for (and to chat, of course)
My first completion - Thanks to Stidmama for getting me over that last hump.
Stidmama: What part of WA are you in?
YAY mklein! way to go! reanha will be so proud :-)
thurston county, western edge.
It's hard to ask for clues when there's just so many words I don't have!
then ask for the biggest ones you are missing -- they have the most points and are often built on smaller ones...
do you have the er words that mean to blank out mistakes?
or the cr words that mean to make a prominent fold in paper or cloth?
there are 4 st words, all having to do with what people do when they want better wages or working conditions
I have the 8, I think most of the 6's and 7's
off to work see you all later. have fun.
later oggy! have a good day!
my Tom just finished Iron Sudoku... he is celebrating :-)
I have a small question. I love the icons, but havent been able to figure out how to attach them. Can you tell me where to go to find out?
mklein! I hadn't noticed you had gone pro! At the top right corner of your personal page, there is an icon box (currently with a "filler" icon) and the word edit underneath.... click on the word :-)
argh. I know I'm tired... I meant the "profile" page
Yay for librarians!
speaking of icons, I'm going to load the one I made for tomorrow... BRB
bandm, how you doing? 4 minutes left...
mklein -- you upload your icon from the "my profile" page -- instructions are there.
I'm at 80...so not too bad
t minus 2 minutes...
pretty good, actually! well done!
hi nan!
hi s-mama :)
see you all on the other side!
I think I figured the icons out. What the theme for tomorrow, or is it free style? by the way, who else is a librarian?
i'm at 48 and i only started at 9:30 tonite so i guess i did good :)
theme is rockets...
