Plural indian butter

3:26 am

pl of gh4/7

What? You can't get to the s!

3:28 am

darnit, why isn't queef a valid word?!

3:29 am

Take a right and down to an e instead of a left

3:30 am

queef?

3:31 am

a queef is what happens under your underpants when you turn yourself upside down and twist yourself inside out during yoga :D

3:32 am

ahhhh! I recognise that from pilates :P

3:32 am

I told you it was valid ;)

3:33 am

6:01 am

scratch that, finished. Oh well, suppose I'd better go to work now. (sighs).

6:02 am

Pls help with fe5 /20

6:04 am

fe5/20 - dodgy one. Lots of vowels! fe + the vowel meaning "me" in the 3rd person, plus a shortened form of editor. Crap clue, I know, but its a crap word.

6:06 am

Thank you - I was battling with that one. Almost a vendetta

wtf?! how is RESCUE <i>not</i> in the puzzle?!

yesh, found my very first word. this isnt so bad =]

6:21 am

"a queef is what happens under your underpants when you turn yourself upside down and twist yourself inside out during yoga :D" and with that i say, good morning

6:22 am

and with that def, it has simply GOT to be a word!!!!!

6:23 am

Ive obviously got to get myself down to Yoga class. Feel like Im missing something.

6:24 am

ee getting a ton of play in this one

6:42 am

HEY, DIS IS KINDA HARD

6:42 am

Morning, all... tiny grid today!

6:43 am

Hey Jera

6:45 am

Good morning everyone. That e in the second line from the bottom is giving me problems and I have the feeling it's really easy. There should be 3 words from it and I have none!

6:47 am

Wow, a baby grid. Hello dear gang :)

6:47 am

Those are the only 3 I'm missing. Strange to be missing a whole clump.

6:48 am

You'd think with all the e's I'd have found more than one e word... I only have an e6/21

6:49 am

Ah, I see the french sweetener is back...

6:53 am

jera, it looks like you and I are alone here in the endless eeeeeeee quest! Do you have any of the e's stemming from the e on the second to last line?

6:53 am

I am looking with you, but not finding them so far.

6:53 am

not alone. i'm in e hell too

6:54 am

hi all - there's a colour and its plural coming from that e.

6:54 am

hi capone-good to have company in hell

6:54 am

didn't see you there sprite.

6:54 am

My e word starts from the center e

6:54 am

my life is hell

6:55 am

Thanks a lot zoom!!! Just missing one more now. Still from that same e-a 4. Any clues?

6:55 am

My life is pretty good... not being able to find e words isn't the worst thing in the world...

6:56 am

sorry, no idea about the third e - happy hunting!

6:56 am

sorry to hear that capone.

6:56 am

*tries very hard to think of a color beginning with E*

6:57 am

lol. ok so my life isn't that bad...my lack of sleep this weekend is starting to catch up

6:57 am

Ooh! Got it! Thansk!

6:57 am

okay folks. Just one little word, one measly e4 from the e on the second line from the bottom, and I can feed the cat and get on with life.

6:57 am

No A's again today...

6:58 am

and all the guys at the office are ragging me because i wore a blue shirt. they are tryiong to say it's florida gator blue. (fyi: i'm a georgia bulldog fan and lothe the gators)

so, the color begins with the letter e? or the "E" is in the color?

6:59 am

the colour begins with e - think french for beige

6:59 am

Does anyone have the 2 Q's I;m missing? qu 5 16 qu 7 44 qu 6 27 qu 5 18 qu 6 33

7:00 am

The last one is the plural color without the 3rd letter.

Hiya, everyone!!!!! Just posting to welcome y'all, AND to ask for assistance re: the q's..... I have three relating to a female monarch, but I'm struggling with the other four.....

7:16 am

Movieman, think standing in line. x4.

7:16 am

mother nature is playing a late april fool's joke on me today. it is snowing, and i put all my winter stuff away 2 weeks ago! what a rude awakening.

7:17 am

Dank u, Sprite.....

7:17 am

Graag gedaan ;)

7:18 am

ARGH! Help with the ce's? I'm feeling so slow here...

7:20 am

It might snow for us tonight, cliff...

7:21 am

Jera, no way! Really? Yuck! Just when I'd finally built up my tan-in-a-can to wear shorts! :)

7:22 am

i feel for you Jera - did you already put winter stuff away too?

7:22 am

Not a real good chance, but it's in the forcast as a possibility... I just don't want to have to buy any more oil this season!

7:23 am

Not all of it cliff... the kids have outgrown enough stuff that there's room for both at the moment... but after we buy summer camp clothes, there won't be!

7:23 am

thanks sprite, was driving me nuts...only 19 to go...

7:24 am

Oh, Jen... will you guys be in town the 22nd? That's when we're having the Sprite's birthday party & you're invited!

7:24 am

I never really put away my winter stuff, just further up in the closet... but geez, it's April!

7:25 am

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to actually use my cellar... putting stuff down there in plastic boxes (rather damp down there).

EAK! sorry I had a patient I had to take care of ....

Rockets today? awesome thanks :) So how is everyone?

7:26 am

Hey monkey :) Don't you just hate it when real life interferes with your babbling?

7:26 am

Ah, if we only had a cellar/basement...

7:26 am

Has the theme been set for the 6th yet, does anyone know? It's National Tartan Day (US), so I'll be wearing my kilt...

7:26 am

Absolutely fine, TSM...... And yourself.....

7:27 am

groovy-groove TSM! How are you today?

7:27 am

Ours is a bit small & gloomy, too spidery for Sprite's clubhouse like she'd originally planned. I tell her if she cleans it & spends time down there, the spiders won't like it anymore!

7:28 am

Jera - the 6th is Shel Silverstein day..... And no, I don't know who that is either.....

7:28 am

Gelababe - I've finished my first grid! Yee-Haa

Oops. Sig tag off!

11:34 am

11:34 am

Not bad Stid. Did lots of errand this morning but that means I can stay home all day tomorrow. Deposited GS money, picked up my paycheck, put the down payment on our furniture so it could be ordered, delivered GS cookies. You know - same old thing. How about you?

11:34 am

Ack laundry - i have a load that needs to go in the dryer. Only 5 more words and then I'll do it.<G>

11:35 am

BRAVO Stid!

11:36 am

well, I helped out in a first grade classroom this morning -- my kids are older, but helping early readers is "my thing" -- so I just started. a little nervous as it had been years since I worked with really young kids, but fun enough. the weather is good, so will be outside much of the day, I think -- need to transplant a few more items... same-o same-o!

11:37 am

FUN!!! I love working with first graders - emergent readers get so excited. Hannah just started really reading and she is hilarious!

11:38 am

stid -- I started an elementary school library this year, and now I suddenly "get" the satisfaction of helping early readers. Can't be beat!

11:38 am

Ginger - did you find your fe?

11:40 am

yes, I've been helping early readers for 30 years... off and on. It's a passion for me (my mother has her master's in remedial education, I started out helping her when I was a child...). Of course, my own kids didn't need me! :-)

11:42 am

en 5/12 please?

11:42 am

musicmom - if you have the last fe 4/7 then you know the third letter has to be later than the third letter in that - its not obvious but I found it by playing with the letters.

11:43 am

m3 - if you have the en 6 - remove the r it means to take place

11:43 am

en 5/12: to proceed from; en + a girl's name

11:43 am

I had it already - I was helping ginger. Thanks though!

11:44 am

business call - brb.

12:02 pm

12:06 pm

Here in the US we have a number of wood henges. (And "henges" is here today too.) But you have to think like Oedipus trying to argue with his Fate. Babble is what it is, no matter how unjust!

12:07 pm

Just one sn word.

12:07 pm

I found a bug

12:08 pm

Hi everyone. Is anyone having a problem getting today's stats from Babbler's Anon? I noticed that you have the stats M3. Where did you get them?

12:09 pm

Try Lickety's Babble clues (under Friends of Babble) for a 2nd letter list.

12:10 pm

I upgraded to pro, but those stats don't list the second letters or the values.

12:10 pm

Thanks Haz!

which one? su/6 24 a type of material, plural of su/5

12:42 pm

cool picture harpjane ...very funny indeed!

su 6/24 - like a type of leather, plural the one before it

12:44 pm

thank you!

12:45 pm

I only need 3 words!!! an L a H and a G!

12:45 pm

YOU GO, GINGER!!

which ones Ginger, I can try to help. I'm not adept at clue giving...

12:46 pm

ge4 /7 I haved an exclamation past tense

12:47 pm

Okay, this one has me stumped, any clue for ne4,4?

ge 4/7 - def. a tax paid to the crown, rhymes with someone who attatches metal with a w***ing iron

12:48 pm

mrwrite, repeat it.....

12:48 pm

the first le5 /10 unless I've marked the wrong one!

Both le 5/10's are anagrams of eachother

12:49 pm

add an extra vowel between the 3rd and 4th letter in the le/4

12:50 pm

Thanks Praes...I kept trying to start from the wrong n and didn't see you could do that. Gah.

12:51 pm

ok, got the le....

so you still need an h?

12:54 pm

missing an h4 /5 |I think and still the g

12:56 pm

got the g... last one is the he4 /5 I have farmyard birds

12:57 pm

Do you have a protective headgear?

12:58 pm

um... part of that word

12:59 pm

that works

1:01 pm

How come there's no stats posted today? Brandyjack on vacation or something?

1:01 pm

I have two left to find. An f and a g. Of the eight f's, how many are four letter words?

1:02 pm

can someone post a complete list of h's? I think it;'s a he4 /6 but I could be wrong (marked up wrong)

I have 5 f's so far, and they're all 4-letter words

1:03 pm

same here

1:03 pm

7 are 4 letters

1:03 pm

Thanks, everyone! Down to one g5.

1:04 pm

my kids are screaming for food but i want my last word LOL

1:04 pm

he4/6 he4/5 he4/6 he4/6 he 4/5 he4/5

1:05 pm

thanks smithchick!

1:05 pm

NP!

1:06 pm

it's a he4 5 at the bottom I'm missing... I have the birds

1:06 pm

Can you tell me which g5 I'm missing? I have ge5, gh5 and two gl5's

1:06 pm

Is there a stats list posted anywhere today?

1:07 pm

Ginger, tack on the next consonant after the ending of the birds.

1:07 pm

I haven't looked for it, judi. I'm trying to finish without it. One left!!

1:07 pm

it's another gl5 smoithchick

Sorry Ginger, that he ryhmes with what you pitch to camp in

1:08 pm

TY, Ginger...

Judy, Lickety's or Angelsong's should have one.

I better jet, lots of work to do! See yall later!

1:10 pm

Woohoo!!! I'm done. It's been a long time since I finished without a list! I'm feeling positively brilliant! Okay, that feeling didn't last long, but it was nice while it did!

1:10 pm

ty the kids can eat now :-) Thanks for all your help!!

1:10 pm

ty, bunny

1:10 pm

Bye, bunny!

1:10 pm

YAY Ginger!!!!!!!!! WooHoo!!!

1:11 pm

YAY back to you!!!

1:13 pm

Crud. Bunny - I don't understand Lickety's or Angelsong's lists. I need 2 letter list for dummies.

1:20 pm

Finished!!!

1:21 pm

Well, does anyone need any clues from me before I'm off to do laundry and balance the checkbook and then throw myself into a distraught heap on my bed and use it as an excuse to read my Lisa Scottoline book?

1:21 pm

Yay, Bex!!!!!!!!!!

1:21 pm

Hi Everyone! Judi, the other two lists work like BA's list. Angel's hascheck boxes and Lickety's has check boxes and a place to put the words. Yea, bex!

1:21 pm

q me PLZ?!

1:22 pm

i have my 3 royal and my 2 lines

1:22 pm

Smith, Your day sounds like fun. Maybe you better grab Lisa's book and read first!

1:22 pm

Well, there is the female monarch, the plural, and past tense, then there is the line that you wait in, the past tense, the one in it and the plural of it.

1:23 pm

add the doer and the doers to your list, praes.

1:23 pm

then there are the one that put you in those lines and the plural of that

1:24 pm

Hey, Deutsch! How are ya? I've promised myself I will at least change the laundry around before allowing myself to read.

1:24 pm

thanka much!

1:24 pm

YW

1:25 pm

Ah, smith, laundry always beckons. taught a class this morning, but I see the grid is small. I hope to finish!

1:26 pm

It's really easy. I finish in under an hour with no list. You won't have any problem.

1:27 pm

finished, I mean.

1:27 pm

Smith, thanks for the encouragment!

1:29 pm

OK, finished my walk. I'm still stuck on the last three 'su': su4/5 su 4/8 su6/33

1:31 pm

one su 4/5 starts out like a girls name, ends 2nd consonant of your screen name. also sounds like where effluent goes.

1:32 pm

su4/8 and 6/33. Think The Beach Boys & their seaside activities.

1:32 pm

One su4/5 is a person who takes someone to court, one su4/5 is certainty and the su4/8 is what one does in the ocean (hang ten) and the past tense is the su6/33.

1:33 pm

sorry Hi everyone too :)

1:34 pm

Hi fmitch!

1:34 pm

I got the su 4/5 ... both. But what about the beach.

1:35 pm

Oh, in the water at the beach. Now su 6/33

1:37 pm

My 's' are all finished. I have two he to go... both are 4/5. I have the farm fowls, it's the other two.

1:40 pm

Gotta scoot. My dad requires me to deliver him my husband's homemade chili to help with his recuperation. He had his elbow replacement re-replaced. Bye all.

1:41 pm

bye smith, hope the chili helps?

1:42 pm

(Smith, I meant !! not ?)

1:42 pm

praes hey baby i sent it

1:43 pm

Heck, help! Are their rhymes for my last two he 4/5 words? I am so stuck.

1:43 pm

qu 6,33 i would appreciate help from anyone

1:43 pm

yeah i got it. no help :(

1:44 pm

qu6/33 - formed a line

1:44 pm

I got the one now that reminds me of clue, but with an incorrect vowel.

1:45 pm

Merk, one is a barnyard beast. the other rhymes with you a tenant pays every month

1:45 pm

fe5/20 please?

1:45 pm

thank you

1:46 pm

fe5/20 - rumor has it it's a Scottish fiefdom thing. You can think of the German for fire and change the last letter, or think of "Family Fe--" and add a letter in the middle.

1:47 pm

Thanks Vic!

1:47 pm

I am so dense. It was the part of my foot. It must have been in my mouth.

1:48 pm

And I don't know any German!

1:48 pm

good one, Merk. It was like that for me yesterday!

1:48 pm

You're welcome. I don't see how anyone gets those without clues.

1:50 pm

I am struggling with the final "fe" and a 5/12 en. Then I will be finished. I'm ready to pull my hair out. Isn't this supposed to be fuN?

1:52 pm

my final fe is pl of French word for fire, but I'm still missing an f, so maybe that isn't the last one.

1:52 pm

merk, if your final fe is 4 letters, think fe and the country i'm from (minus last letter)

1:53 pm

The initials of your country?

1:53 pm

merck-the en5/12 which I think you're looking for is something that results after something happens. Or, the prefix plus going into court to claim damages from someone else.

1:54 pm

yep

1:54 pm

de 5/16? please clue

1:54 pm

I am missing the final fe 5/20 and fe 4/8

1:54 pm

if you have the en 6/21, just take out the 3rd consonant for the 5/12 you are missing.

1:55 pm

the fe5/20, which took me forever too, is Family Fe__, but place another vowel between the 3rd and 4th letters.

1:55 pm

Finito. That was a pesky one!

1:55 pm

praes-think of a playing card

1:56 pm

cliff, what if, say a person, doesn't have the en 6...

1:56 pm

the last fe 4/8 is the clue i just gave you.

1:57 pm

deutsch-en6/21-to make certain of something

1:57 pm

the en 6 is also the brand name of a special drink elderly people consume

1:58 pm

good one cliff!

1:58 pm

well, good grief! smack me with the fish of obviousness! thanks, Eva

1:58 pm

Thank you for the fe 5/20. What in the world does that one mean? Now it's just the fe 4/8

1:58 pm

by the way, it tastes gross to me.

1:58 pm

And thanks, cliff!

1:58 pm

Wow, it is snowing hard here!

1:59 pm

vicuna just read your earlier frankin clue lol!

1:59 pm

eva, i'm in NH. we had snow this am, but now rain.

1:59 pm

deutsch-we all get so used to looking for bizarre words that the "real" ones become invisible.

1:59 pm

the rain has brought worms up on the front lawn and currently there are about 10 robins chowing down. my cat is going crazy.

2:00 pm

so true, eva!

2:00 pm

cliff-I'm in Vermont-close to Montpelier, and it's been snowing since mid-morning and is supposed to continue through tomorrow. Just on the margin between snow and rain.

2:01 pm

It's chilly here, too. 56 F and sunny!

2:02 pm

i love VT. if i didn't live in NH, i'd live in VT

2:02 pm

Any clues on the final fe 4/8?

2:02 pm

Nice image of the food chain in action. When I drove hom e yesterday there was a robin standing in the freezing rain with a look on his face which I read as "hmmm....maybe I took this flight a bit too early"

2:03 pm

the final fe 4/8 is an anagram of what you would light to set off a bomb.

2:04 pm

it was really wierd this year eva, the robins came to NH in february. they don't usually show up until end of march.

2:04 pm

very funny stuff on "wait, wait, don't tell me", on public radio the other day about the differences between New Hampshirites and vermonters. They were broadcasting from Lebanon. I do wonder how 2 states so close to each other became so different politically/culturally.

2:05 pm

May blessings shower upon your head Cliffopa.

2:06 pm

i think the VT - NH thing all started with the border dispute. NH was too possessive about the CT river. my dad's family is from the outskirts of lebanon.

2:07 pm

thanks for the blessings merk. glad i finally figured out how to give a decent clue.

2:07 pm

hello, I am new here, also from NH

2:08 pm

Hi citykid.

2:08 pm

city, where are ya?

2:09 pm

hello, Eva, How do you all know how manhy of each size word there is?

2:09 pm

missing two de.s... 7/44 and 5/12. Then done. Anyone?

2:09 pm

jf-the best offense is a good.....

2:10 pm

welcome, citykid!

2:10 pm

j - there are 2 de 5/12's - one of them is how i feel when i can't get a clue.

2:10 pm

Oy -- I always spell that with a c. and the de 5/12 (the second one, I think)

2:10 pm

the other de 5/12 is an anagram of the one i just described.

2:11 pm

Great, thanks -- I had the odd spelling, not the d'oh one. Figures that would be my last word... Do I get fireworks today?

2:11 pm

city-there are lots of ways. If you go to Babblersanonymous there is a list every day which tells you. There are some other lists too. At this point I know because I managed to finish earlier.

2:11 pm

Well, try your hand at clueing me in on en 5, 12

2:12 pm

City, I've been working off licketysplit's list...I had been using the babbler's anonymous list, but it wasn't up -- and lickety's had those nifty checkboxes, so I think I'll keep using it. Both are on links to the right.

2:12 pm

j - i don't know how to do the fireworks. but i'll clap for you. although you probably won't hear me. congrats!

2:12 pm

jf-*****!!!!!!*********!!!!!!! !!!!!@@@@@@@@@!!!!!!!!!!!!

2:12 pm

city, in the same friends of babble box, click either angelsong or lickety for lists with check lists.

2:13 pm

Merk: en5/12: to happen, en + common nickname for a girl's name

2:13 pm

merk - en and a girl's name (also in a johnny cash song 'a boy named ***)

2:14 pm

+ then the plural (en/6) comes immediately after.

2:14 pm

Duh! That's when I feel so dense ... when it's actually a word I really know.

2:14 pm

Thanks for the fireworks, folks. Anyone else want a clue? Also: just curious: what happens if the word "clue" shows up in the grid? How do we avoid that?

2:15 pm

we ask for hints(-:

2:15 pm

i don't have a clue :)

2:15 pm

(Merk used a word, merk used a word...sorry, I got giddy from all those fireworks and the flu keeping me home sick from work today)

2:15 pm

Cu 4/6 and then I think I am finished ... I have the wild dogs, it's the earlier one I need.

2:16 pm

Tom CR**** - two vowels. Never heard of it either, but there you go.

2:16 pm

merk-there are 2 others. One is a wine/champagne term

2:17 pm

what doctors do when they make you well. they cu**you

2:17 pm

OOPs. N/m. Doctors have a ____ for my flu.

2:17 pm

It will cu 4/6 you of whatever ails you.

2:17 pm

No I got the doctor helping you word.

2:17 pm

everyone thinks my cats name (the handsome fellow in the icon) is Merk- but i's Merp.

2:17 pm

if your sick j, you could use one!

2:18 pm

ne 4/4 hawaii's state bird

2:18 pm

it's an an anagram of the dogs word

2:18 pm

if you've got the wild dogs one and the doctor one you have both the cu 4/6's. maybe another combo?

2:18 pm

only 2 cu 4/6, though. Perhaps you mean 4/5?

2:18 pm

Oops, I am so so sorry. It must be the 4/9 I am missing.

2:19 pm

OK, merk. cu 4/9 sounds like a middle ages peasant.

2:19 pm

sounds like what the water that hits the beach is called, only starts out with a c.

2:19 pm

sorry merk-I've been giving you clues for a cr4/6 not cu4/6.

2:19 pm

Cu 4/9 is the first four letters of what a city proclaims from 6 p, to 6 a.m. when there is unrest in the city.

2:21 pm

Is it an alternate spelling of that word?

2:21 pm

cu 4/9 = su 4/8 but swap out first letter

2:22 pm

Can anyone warn me: are there any gn words today?

2:23 pm

hello again.

2:23 pm

I had my words in the wrong slots. What is the clue for cu 5/20?

2:23 pm

gno there aren't

2:23 pm

LOL. Plural of the one we were just talking about, merk!

2:24 pm

Thanks, thedave. :)

2:24 pm

there are 2 gh words i never heard of before

2:24 pm

fe 5/20 anyone?

2:24 pm

Kick me ... you folks are so patient. Can you tell I am new to this?

2:24 pm

Ahh, gh's. Those'll be Indian butter. Are there just the two of them?

2:25 pm

Heaven help me, I really, really thought I was finished, but I have a qu 7/44 left. I have royal woman past tense, but not the other.

2:25 pm

Done, merk?

2:25 pm

plural, merk: people who line up.

2:25 pm

merk, i've only been doing this just under 2 weeks. you'll be surprised at how much better you get once you get the hang of the wierd and obscure possibilities for words.

2:26 pm

do I have to upgrade in order to see what words I'm missing?

2:26 pm

fe5/20 - rumor has it it's a Scottish fiefdom thing. You can think of the German for fire and change the last letter, or think of "Family Fe--" and add a letter in the middle.

2:26 pm

If there are 76 words, then I just have the one qu left to do.

2:26 pm

if you have qu 6/30, just make it plural

2:28 pm

Those nasty plurals. You love them when you remember to check for them, but kick yourself when you forget. You all were a tremendous help. What I'd like to know it ... where do they find all of these odd words?

2:28 pm

I am finished!!! Thank you so much, one and all!

2:29 pm

tommy, if you go to this link http://licketysplitaus.googlep ages.com/babbleclues you will find a helpful list.

2:29 pm

yay for merk!

2:30 pm

I'm missing a g-can anyone tell me what it is? Here's what I have: ge4x4 ge5 gh4 gh5 g l4x2 gl5x3

2:31 pm

fudge me running 11 to go

2:32 pm

it looks like you are missing a gl 5

2:32 pm

oops, maybe not.

2:32 pm

thank you, cliffopa!

2:33 pm

it might actually be a gl 4

2:33 pm

hey any one , are there any words with gn

2:33 pm

??? I tried lickety's site but can't get to it.

2:33 pm

gl4, I think

2:33 pm

no gns.

2:34 pm

no gn's today

2:34 pm

no, rea, but there are two gh's

2:34 pm

got it! thank you!

2:34 pm

red - did you try clicking on the link to the right under friends of babble?

2:35 pm

i got one gh, any clue for the second

2:35 pm

rea, pl

2:35 pm

gh plural.

2:36 pm

one gh is 4 letters, the next is 5 and plural of the 4

2:36 pm

thank you guys, this is fun, I supposed to be working

2:37 pm

any clues for the ec's?

2:37 pm

back again, Hi all!

2:37 pm

thank you cliff! finished my first grid ever! :)

2:37 pm

hey d!

2:38 pm

tommy - doesn't it feel great? like climbing a mt

2:39 pm

gj tommy!

2:39 pm

haha....well maybe a small one, since it's only 76 words

2:39 pm

Yea! for tommy!

2:40 pm

thank you all! ok, back to work! :/

2:41 pm

OMG, have to run. my psycho dog is barking at squirrels again and my husband is trying to nap.

2:42 pm

bye cliff, any help on the EC's?

2:42 pm

LOL, cliff

2:45 pm

how do u all know how many words there are? this is my first time playing and i suck horribly LOL

2:45 pm

boreetos, the ec is a color, sort of off whte, then plural, then remove a letter.

2:45 pm

nevermind i monkeytyped them.

2:45 pm

thanks anyhow d!

2:46 pm

mmhm my first time playing too and i only have like 30 words

2:47 pm

I try... Talk and krm. Look to the right at friends of Babble, go to babbler annon, click general, click stats, there is usually a posting of the day's stats.

2:47 pm

any assistance on the first le5?

2:47 pm

su 6/33 help?

2:47 pm

ohh thank you very much

2:47 pm

except for today, yesterday's are still up.

2:48 pm

also, you can get lists from angelsong with check boxes and lickety with boxes and space to write the word. And don't worry, we were all horrible the first time we played.

2:48 pm

wrong one sorry

2:48 pm

su 6 = something to do at the beach with a board--past tense

2:49 pm

Looking for last he4/5. Have chickens, lousy dude, and seize.

2:49 pm

le 5 = alt sp of le 4

2:50 pm

that's the second le5, i have that one. What about the one before that?

2:50 pm

but thanks!

2:51 pm

grant, he 4 5 rhymes with what you pay every month to your landlord

2:51 pm

su 4/6? last s, i have the rest

2:52 pm

boreeto--the other one is an anagram of that one...confused?

2:52 pm

su 4/6. . .think a feminine name with an ending, or something, or past tense of a reason you go to court

2:53 pm

praes, do you have the su meaning what you did in court?

2:53 pm

ahh! thanks bookgrrrrrrrl!

2:53 pm

yup

2:54 pm

Deutsch- That 4/5 means seize. Apparently there's yet another, making 4 in all?

2:57 pm

3:01 pm

3:01 pm

That's right, grant. I like the lousy dude clue. I have three he 4 5s. That's all there is!

3:21 pm

I'm missing only a gl 5/16. A hint please?

3:22 pm

Greetings all. I'm missing the 1st LE 5/10. I have the one related to a camera. Thanks.

3:24 pm

Hi Minski. The word you're missing is an anagram of the one you have.

3:24 pm

hi every body! Im new 2 this stuff so hopefully youll give me some pointers

3:24 pm

Already have a glowing coal or ember, need the other gl 5/16

3:25 pm

Thanks mab and bookgirl (from earlier hint). Got it.

3:26 pm

krausbrew - rearrange the last two letters of the glowing ember - means a bird of prey

3:26 pm

Got it. It's an anagram, too.

3:26 pm

Hi cyclone and welcome. If you click on Angelsong's babble page at the right you will find lots of info.

3:26 pm

Thanks!

3:27 pm

welcome cyclone5

3:27 pm

thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaank you mab

3:30 pm

can you guys give me some clues on where some words are in todays puzzel

3:31 pm

i was wondering where you get the cool pictures that you put next to your screen name

3:33 pm

gotta go pro to get the icon and the stats page 76 total words today

3:34 pm

oh i only have 9

3:34 pm

cyclone5, start simple. Find a few four or five letter words and go from there. You'll be surprised how many more you'll find. It works a lot like Boggle. Pick a letter and look around it to see if you can start making words.

3:36 pm

thanks for the pointer ill try it

3:37 pm

thanks to my daughter, knutmeg, very cleverly pointing out my own stupid oversights, i finished my first puzzle- i mean, i missed "seen"????? LOLOL Jai

OK. My last 2 words missing are the ce 5/ 12 ce 6/ 24 Please help. Thanks.

3:44 pm

Forget it. Found them both. DONE!!!!!

3:45 pm

THe codes are ways of identifying words we are missing. Example: CE5/12 means a word that starts with CE and has 5 letters for a total of 12 points.

3:47 pm

3:57 pm

what does 4.54 mean? (it says that under my point score)

3:58 pm

see you every body and thanks for helping a new begginer like me!

3:58 pm

The easiest way to use the babbler's anonymous site is to right click on it then click open up in another window. Then click on general and then click on stats. That way BA opens up in a separate window and you don't have to keep clicking back and forth.

3:59 pm

ok, i have 42 words on my own, now i am using BA and I see there is a CE 4/5. I know I will kick myself but I can't see the word. Hints?

4:00 pm

what does 4.54 mean????? (its under my points)

4:00 pm

i suck at this i only have 14 words... help!!!

4:00 pm

i mean under my letters

4:01 pm

canu do that? have half a point?

4:01 pm

GOt it!

4:04 pm

Hello Nubies, the points don't matter really except for players' rankings (see the top of the page) and you have to have played for 3 days to get in the rankings. It's really about getting all the words in 24 hrs.

it's the average number of letters in the words you've found.

4:07 pm

XTBABBLE - take your total amount of points and divide by the number of words found, = 4.54

4:07 pm

ok this might be a dumb question but how many words are there??

Chic!!

7:33 pm

eva!! Didja enjoy your day yesterday?!

7:34 pm

tara, i've yet to meet a canadian i didn't like.

7:34 pm

une, i was TOTALLY in heaven, i should have taken the day off so i could be here all day for it.

7:34 pm

I'm actually a nice middel aged lady who has been tkaing advantage of all your lovely clues for weeks now, and had to respond to Jaiimieee's rant

7:35 pm

* gasp * - taking advantage of us!

7:35 pm

lucky for us, trolls never seem to hang out on this site for long.

7:36 pm

big thanks to dr-g for that.

7:36 pm

thanx vy much for fire clue, I was beginning to think my expensive education had gone to waste

7:37 pm

20 words to go, and I may finish this, (vy excited!)

hi all- this one looks tough!

7:38 pm

not so bad really

7:39 pm

i agree, not that bad. but great clues from fellow babblers surely helped me today.

7:39 pm

36 words, 425 points only.... sigh. A tough one tonight, and now I must go to watch women's NCAA finals. Anyone else into that? (I live in Durham and teach at Duke so kinda have to root for the blue devils). Good night all! (thanks for driving away the crazy canadian chick!)

7:40 pm

Go Duke!!!!!!

7:43 pm

7:44 pm

7:46 pm

i would have gone cliff! but you're too far.

7:46 pm

tks cliff just couldnt see it. got all words. fireworks time

7:47 pm

It's funny...kind of like the pumpkin festival...we always make ourselves scarce and leave town for things like that! :)

7:48 pm

angela, just like all the residents in my area disappear on motorcycle weekend!

7:48 pm

YAY scatty!

7:48 pm

!! i just finished babble for the first time ever. yayyyyyy!! :D

7:48 pm

YAY lbetterman!

7:48 pm

7:49 pm

those motorcycle rallies get wild. there's one out by my aunties, loud as all heck.

7:49 pm

YAY btwrt! **Fire**Works**

7:49 pm

tks

7:49 pm

Cliff - I am one of the people who flock to you at that time...hehehe As you can probably tell from the icon :)

7:49 pm

hi! nope, just got back, sitting down to eat...

7:50 pm

Ev - we just went for our first ride this weekend. Looking like a raccoon and lovin' it :)

7:50 pm

where have our icons gone

7:50 pm

i personally like motorcycles (and cyclists) but thousands at the same time are deafening. we live on the route to the gunstock camping area and so it is non-stop roaring for 8 to 10 days.

7:50 pm

it's better than the 4th of july :)

7:50 pm

so long as you wore a helmet dear!

7:52 pm

ev - in NH the state motto is 'live free or die' so no helmets are required. *tee hee*

7:52 pm

Ev - ALWAYS. Contrary to popular belief my head is not hard enough to withstand the impact :) Cliff - we live on a major road near I-91 so we get that too. Very cool.

7:52 pm

* folds hands in prayer for angela's noggin *

7:53 pm

too many people I know have needed them and I've got a great hubby to be around for

7:53 pm

* repeats prayer for cliff * * douses them both with icy holy water * he he he he hehe, i finished my work ha ha

7:54 pm

scatty, did you accidentally hide the icons when you "jumped" down to the chat window?

7:54 pm

angela - one time my husband and i went to the mt washington area to try and get away from the roar. didn't work. now we invite people from all over to camp out in our yard. if you can't beat 'em.....

7:55 pm

*wonders if there is a towel nearby...* Great attitude Cliff! That's much appreciated by all bikers. I think I will be taking my own bike up there this year for the first time...maybe...

7:56 pm

*hands Angela and cliff towels*

7:56 pm

*brandishes own flask of iced holy water at evanonut*

7:57 pm

play nice children...

7:57 pm

thanks for the towel stidmama, that holy water stings!

7:57 pm

Many thanks Stid...funny, usually the holy water burns :) hehehe

7:57 pm

tarajane, how are you doing? need any more clues before I leave playground duty and go fold laundry?

7:57 pm

i give in! i'm taking a bath anyway.

7:58 pm

good night you lot.

7:58 pm

*rushes up to evanonut and tickels mercilessly*

7:58 pm

nite ev!

7:58 pm

goood night, nut! :-)

7:59 pm

GAAAAAHHHHH - you'll give ma an asthma attack!

7:59 pm

Night Ev. Glad I got to say Hi...

8:00 pm

no one's asked for a clue lately. wonder why?

8:00 pm

you scared 'em off... but I helped!

8:01 pm

sorry 'bout that. okay, i'm ready to listen.

8:01 pm

thanx stidmama I have 10 to go and need helo w/ en words they are fighting me...

8:01 pm

I've been too busy gabbing... :)

8:03 pm

tara, the en 6/21 is a nutritious drink for elderly people or those who aren't eating right.

why dosn't DR. seussword work on this puzzle?

8:03 pm

i should have clarified 'brand name' for that en.

8:04 pm

there are three en words: en # 1 (4/6): en + abbreviation for girlscout en #2 (5/12): "what follows"; en + a girl's name en #3 (6/21): a protein shake commonly used by invalids and the elderly; to take precautions so something does or does not happen

8:08 pm

jackleventon: not all real words work, same for fictional ones! I haven't figured out a logic to the dictionaries used by most word games -- some foreign words count, some common slang words don't, occasionally no one can seem to find a meaning for one of the "words" the game wants!

thnx stidmama, still working on your last clue thnx again

8:11 pm

yw -- hey all, I am going to wander through my garden once more before it gets dark, and fold the laundry. Back in an hour or so...

8:12 pm

Just checking to see if my icon for tomorrow is recognizable or too small.

8:13 pm

what do you think? can you see what it is?

8:13 pm

can't see it too clearly musicmom

8:14 pm

Thanks cliff. I was afraid of that. going shopping for a different one.

8:15 pm

looks like a freaky Peter Paul and Mary :)

8:15 pm

haven't looked up the theme for tomorrow yet. what is it?

8:17 pm

turtles tomorrow cliff. The one I have is a turtle band. They are playing instruments and singing. i'm going to change brb.

8:18 pm

refresh - how about this one?

8:18 pm

Many thanx the en clues, got em! Am now sorting through the last 7 words I AM going to finish this!

8:19 pm

OMG - my nickname in the 70's was turtle.

8:19 pm

You can do it tarajane! Cliff - how about a picture of you in the 70s for tomorrow then:-)

8:20 pm

musicmom - i like that one better. nix the 70's picture. it was not my best decade.

8:22 pm

Night all...

8:22 pm

night angela.

8:23 pm

Hi everyone. Just trying out tomorrow's icon.

8:23 pm

LOL cliff. I like your's eva.

8:24 pm

Is this one good enough cliff or should I keep shopping?

8:26 pm

i think you should keep it musicmom. looks good!

8:27 pm

Okay - blue turtles it is. I'm off to make some warm jello for a sore throat. I have a day off tomorrow but then three classes to teach on Thursday. YIKEs!

8:28 pm

better rest up musicmom. get some sleep.

8:29 pm

hi, Babblers. We have a new player among us...say hello to Wawamama.

8:29 pm

I'm headed that way cliff. Just wanted to say hellow to wawamama. GREAT name!

8:30 pm

i wawamama! (hi!)

8:30 pm

hello everyone angel sent me here

h8 to sound suggestive, but i've only got 2 four-letter "F"words. can't seem to use the "f" in the top right corner

8:31 pm

blessed by an angel :)

8:31 pm

welcome, Wawamama!

hi ya hoy ya

8:33 pm

just passing through... all the "f" words begin with the one in the third row, fourth column. There are 8 in all. back later...

8:33 pm

oh -- and welcome, wawamama!

8:34 pm

How do i figure out how good i did?

I should have taken that second semester of enlish in college.

8:35 pm

how do i know how i did?

8:35 pm

zo dog-you can click on Player Rankings at the top of this page and find where you are on the lists. Or you can review the puzzle the next day.

8:35 pm

i cant find any words that begin with "E"

8:36 pm

the e's were really annoying! Think colours, and words beginning with the prefix "en".

8:36 pm

neither can i

8:38 pm

thank you EVA!!! you rock!

8:38 pm

(2) 4 letter words start with ec (1) 5 letter word starts with ec (1) 4 letter word starts with en (1) 5 letter word starts with en (1) 6 letter word starts with en

8:38 pm

WHAT COLOR STARTS WITH E?

en+ "a boy named _ _ _" (jonny cash song)

8:39 pm

down to my last 3 words. I know I'll feel like an idiot but, de 5/16, ge 4/7, fe 4/8 Please help...

8:40 pm

YEAH, what "colour" starts with E? ! :)

8:40 pm

scribble think of vy light beige

8:40 pm

de 5/16: think of a really bad movie called "de*** bigelow, male gigolo"

8:40 pm

de 5/16: "two"; de*** is wild (in a card game)

8:40 pm

de 5/16 has to do with a certain playing card in poker

8:41 pm

ge 4/7: neuter a male horse

8:41 pm

fe 4/8: either to put food in one's mouth, or to make one's own way -- to fe** for oneself

8:41 pm

OK, so does anyone know the total number of words possible in this puzzle?

8:42 pm

how many q words are there? i have 7, am curious if there are more... thanks.

8:43 pm

this was a very small puzzle-only 76 words.

8:43 pm

I'm back in my little room (my safe space) while someone practices the piano.... there are 76 words possible, 7 qu words

8:43 pm

TOTAL WORDS=76? 7 Q WORDS

*peeks in* nut?

8:43 pm

Clue for fe 5/20 ? Tnx.

8:44 pm

hi TO, I think nut went away after the iced holy water fight...

8:44 pm

thanx stidmama got those two. need the last one and it's my VERY last word!!

8:45 pm

what is a beige color that starts with e? i can only think of eggshell.

8:45 pm

fe 5/20: past tense of to grant a fief (old scottish word); spelled like german word for fire but with a different ending consonant.

8:45 pm

go, tarajane, go!

geez- don't you people have a life? LOL!

8:46 pm

This *isn't* life? oh dear... maybe I should have tried the little bottle instead...

8:47 pm

Evening, everyone.

8:47 pm

i had a life, but i like babble better.

8:47 pm

(Charm!)

8:47 pm

Stidmama!

8:47 pm

ec + you'll "***" the day...(drop last vowel)

LOL! CHARM! where have u been?!

8:48 pm

Hi, TO! Just lurking. How are you?

8:49 pm

help with the e's--got all except one of the ec4's (got the one that's the color, can't think of the last one)...thanks.

8:49 pm

well, tarajane? *tapping foot expectantly*

8:49 pm

last ec 4, make the other one plural and drop the c...

8:49 pm

FINISHED!!

8:49 pm

Thanks stidmama; that was my last word and I'm done!

8:50 pm

EC4/6 - unit of Fr. currency.

i finished earlier but am obviously going through babble withdrawal...checking email and decided to pop in!anyone seen ren?

8:50 pm

YAY tarajane!

8:50 pm

YAY kmartinson!

wtg to the finishers!

8:51 pm

kisses and hugs to many new friends! I want to thank the academy, sidmama, .... Really, really appreciated all the help

8:51 pm

With such a small puzzle, I think everyone should move up significantly in the rankings. (The anticipated horror, of course, is that tomorrow will be 400 words or so!)

8:52 pm

Well, at least with more words there are more I find before I need help!

8:52 pm

i have 5 of the 7 Q words. i think i have all three royal ones, and i have 2 that have to do with waiting in line. what are the other 2?

8:52 pm

so tarajane -- see you tomorrow, too, i imagine -- now that you've been bit by the "finishing" bug

charm the only way to move downis to start but not finish (my mistake last week - fell asleep). seems the top is evenly matched and nearly everyone who has the time can finish nowadays

8:53 pm

g'night all

8:54 pm

three qu words deal with royalty, think of nouns... four qu words deal with lines or billiards, think of verbs...

8:54 pm

re: the q's--there are 3 royal, 4 related to waiting in line

well goodnight all and happy babbling! see you tomorrow!

8:57 pm

goodnight, TempleOwl!

8:58 pm

re line-related qu's: 1. line. 2. verb - past tense. 3. one who stands in line. 4. pl of 3.

8:59 pm

Nite-nite, TO.

9:00 pm

I'm taking a break, back soon --

YAY BFish!

10:31 pm

10:31 pm

thanks to Lickety of course :)

10:31 pm

sorry wth -- didn't know -- terrapins? why did they choose that for a mascot?

10:32 pm

I really wish babble had animated... SOMETHING... at the completion of the puzzle. Checkmarks are nice, but a lil anticlimactic.

10:32 pm

bre - i have a holistic dentist...very painless...

10:32 pm

Better than the Evergreen Geoduck, Stid ;)

10:33 pm

i don't know why they are terrapins. it's pretty unusual. but at least it's not something racist or sexist. (something to laud in a team name!) plus, turtles are ok--they're pretty cute, actually. (just not tonight!)

10:33 pm

brenn -- how did you know I was a geoduck?

10:34 pm

what's a geoduck?

10:34 pm

I didn't! Actually, I was a Greener too :)

10:35 pm

wth: It's a sea shelled creature that looks like... uhm. Well, check google images!

10:35 pm

i wondered about that... :-) when you talked about software and sheep in the same chat.

10:36 pm

Stid: What years were you there?

10:37 pm

geoduck (pronounded gooey-duck); a large mollusk with very thick skin and a shell too small; lives in deep water, dug into the mud for protection. Good eatin' but mighty tough until it's tenderized with a large mallet! usually harvested by divers... they can be several feel long!

10:38 pm

Don't forget the fact that they squirt water, Stid! I've been surpised by a few of em while walking along the sealine before :)

10:38 pm

graduated in june '90, was there only two years after transferring credits from a small liberal arts school.

10:39 pm

funny, i was imagining a duck in...georgia? a geodome? how interesting! thnx for the info. mollusk, huh?

10:39 pm

i need help agine tho this time its on cu4,9 and cu5,20 :)

10:39 pm

Did you by chance happen to know a gal there named Avesa?

10:39 pm

all clams squirt water -- growing up on the beaches of Puget Sound, it becomes a fact of life... step -squirt, step-squirt!

10:40 pm

so are the geoducks in the pacific nw?

10:40 pm

cu 4/9: spelled similar to the concrete barrier between a street and a sidewalk, change the last letter

10:40 pm

cu 5/20: plural the previous

10:41 pm

no, I didn't know anyone named Avesa... actually can't remember the names of most of my classmates -- I lived off campus and worked at least half time most of my tenure there...

10:42 pm

they're definitely in Puget Sound, don't know if they're on the coast or elsewhere -- never heard of them anywhere else.

10:42 pm

Gotcha! Just a small world question - she's a relative of mine. I was there a lil later than you, so we've probably never run into each other.

10:43 pm

tahnk you stidmama :)

10:44 pm

thank you all for your help and companionship in this time of deep sorrow <sniff> poor blue devils. (but the terrapins deserved to win--they kept fighting). I now give up after 700 points. g'night! (you will see me tomorrow under my new name, twinkie, after i finally join this!)

10:44 pm

except my Tom was working for one of the teachers in the science labs for several years, probably while you were there! 1992 - 1996 or 97... our children attended their first college lectures before they could speak!

10:45 pm

wth -- 700 is really good for tonight; total point is only 882, so you came really close. Good job!

10:45 pm

ok twinkle - see you tomorrow....

10:46 pm

According to wikipedia, looks like the geoduck only exists in washington, canada, and alaska

10:47 pm

The world's largest geoduck was found in Pierce County, Washington in 1913 weighing in at 1300 pounds and approximately 25 feet long.

10:50 pm

Any help with the 1st qu 7/44? Not to do with standing in line

11:19 pm
