This game has the most retarded dictionary I've ever seen. What congenital form of hermaphroditism (i.e. it don't get no gayer) does this game's creator suffer from?

12:20 am

no shit, and we just found a word and plural that has a link to dictionary.com that doesn't exist

12:23 am

They should have two dictionary options: a "people who like nonlinear word searches" option, full of normal words, and a "understimulated housewives with nothing better to do than guess obscure words" option.

12:23 am

Ah, I'm back now and it's flipped.

12:23 am

Can be annoying - don't know where you're from - but known British words are sometimes refused! Something else to complain about! But, hey! I'm on holiday now - so nothing's gonna bother me now.......

12:26 am

for help on the more obscure words, try http://gzilla.com/babhelp

12:27 am

Dunno yet. Got a Kate Melulah cd in and not lookeda at grid yet. I might well kick her out for Carole King yet, in the looking process. LOL.

Good evening :)

12:45 am

Hi nan!

12:46 am

Hi nan! Time to chat - hols have begun! Is it me or is this puzzle slow going?

12:47 am

hi nan, hi chic

12:48 am

Hi helen

12:49 am

Track I'm listening to now - Katie Melua, modern, but it would have spoken to me when Iwas 18,19... There are nine million bicycles in Beijing That's a fact It's a thing we can't deny Like the fact that I will love you till I die We are twelve billion light years from the edge That's a guess No-one can ever say it's true But I know that I will always be with you I'm warmed by the fire of your love everyday So don't call me a liar Just believe everything that I say There are six billion people in the world More or less And it makes me feel quite small But you're the one I love the most of all We're high on the wire With the world in our sight And I'll never tire Of the love that you give me every night There are nine million bicycles in Beijing That's a fact It's a thing we can't deny Like the fact that I will love you till I die And there are nine million bicycles in Beijing And you know that I will love you till I die

12:49 am

dip, very slow indeed!

12:50 am

And I do wish my 19-yr-old daughter hadn't decided to do this band-following across the world gap year all on her own.

12:52 am

Jac - so she's away right now?

12:53 am

No, Dip, she's not gone yet, just dropped that life idea on me her, Dad , her brother and my o/H a coup;e of nights ago.

12:54 am

I wish I could be the hip 60s/70s Mum over this, but I can't.

12:55 am

I've not saiud much yet... but...

12:56 am

But she's to tiny, but so sexually attractive to men, and it make me worry... a hell of a lot.

12:56 am

well jac -- good luck with that

12:57 am

S 7/48

12:57 am

sorry everyone -- wasn't really ignoring you -- just dived right into the grid! I think it might get a little sticky with a lot of uncommon words.

12:58 am

Seems so, Dipp! Except for Monsters of Rock in June. We've booked that up together - Alice Cooper! Hell!

12:58 am

in the states there is no 'gap year' - i wanted to take a 'gap' year before college & that was one of the very few things about which my mom put her foot down - had to continue with school -

12:59 am

jac - is there a specific band she plans on following?

1:01 am

Alice Cooper ... hey .... takes me back! Can't say I blame her - I wish I'd done more than school-college-work. Oddly enough, though neither of mine has wanted to take a year out.

1:01 am

She's worked so hard, Helen this past year, with course work, late into the night/morn. I don't blame her for wanting a break. But. even if she now wants to retro see any of the bands I did back in 70s., she's not always going to want her Mum there, is she? Let's be realistic!

1:01 am

hi all

1:02 am

Dipp - Deep Purple, too, on that gig!

1:02 am

Wow!

1:02 am

Too tired to concentrate --- see you all tomorrow :)

1:03 am

Dipp - Ted Nugent also. Get yer earplugs in. Dream gig, eh? I'll say so!

well jac, what she wants & what's good for her may not always be the same thing - - i suppose 19 is plenty old enough to make wise choice, but a person can't always choose someone else's actions, so safety becomes such a large issue

good nite nan

1:06 am

nite nan! (7am - ish! - here)

mel...dunno if i can do this right now...lol...

1:07 am

Helen- I'll follow the music gigs with her, as much as I can afford to. I haven't brought my klids up that badly that they don' know a good band/artiste when they hear one. So, maybe I won't suffer too much with the nmew stuff. LOL.

1:07 am

Morning dear gang :)

lol jac!

that sounds like a tremendous bonding experience for the 2 of you, something she'll always treasure

hi sprite

1:10 am

Good morn, dear Sprite. No.1 Babbler. Not fawningm, just hoping I can bribe you to keep my Babbleranking whilst I'm offin Europe. band hopping. LOL.

1:10 am

Hi helen :) I am definitely missing a T here.

1:11 am

Her choices 'sound' as if you've done a great job in rearing, Jac! Son (18) likes my stuff - keeps 'borrowing' my 'vinyls' - I'm sure we called them albums! (LPs to my dad!)

1:11 am

Lol, just hand it in, I will keep it safe for you.

1:12 am

Diupp - your Dad was right, it's LPs! LOL.

lol jac - what month is your birthday in?

1:14 am

got all the 7's so I'm heading out. bye...

good nite chic

1:16 am

Oh dear! Here am I, becoming 49 years' old on 22nd April. Erm? How did that age happen to me? Shit! I'm still bacl at youth club in the 70s.... what happened? I think I remember a white dress and a church, then the person that promised to keep me only unto him for the rest of... well he did, he just forgot to keep himself unto me...

1:18 am

Hey, but. never mind, I have the best bloke in the world now.

1:18 am

Oh No Jac.....one more year and you will be like me....over a half century OLD!!!

1:19 am

eek Jac! I can beat that I reach a ghastly 50 next month. I'm sure I only closed my eyes for a moment and the last 30 years happened......

1:19 am

MAN is that a buzz kill, or what!

1:19 am

Erm. yup, gues so Donster.

jac - i asked cause i had the same reaction to dip's post about the lp's - you are only a five months older than me, lol

i often wonder what happened to the last 30 years too - also often wonder what happened 30 minutes ago :)

1:21 am

Well folks, I'm going to bow out - for now - with 40 to find. I mean to start decorating today! You read it here - so I'm going to have to get on with it!!

1:21 am

Hey, almost 50 folks, it will NOT kill us! It is but a number. Let's think back to what we were, what we wanted top make of our particular worlds and let's just then step back and think a bit before we type!

good nite dip

1:25 am

Oh, come on nearly 50 and 50+ folks! My Dad got struck down with Alzheimer's... we won't let that happen to us, will we? We word puzzle people! And if any one of us starts losing it, other will help.

1:26 am

Why not 'poena'? I am pretty sure 'sub poena' is used a lot in english.

1:28 am

Come on, you lot! I still need a lot of help to get over what happened to my Dad. Oh, and any Coronation St. viewers, if you think you saw the picture, you did for a while.......

1:32 am

Does anyone know what the second ph means? And if we can use that apparently obscure-to-the-point-of-not-ex istent word, what's up with the disallowed energy weapon? Sooooo not fair.

jac - i'm sorry about your dad, my dad experienced a similar thing - pick's disease - the worst year of my life, but you're right, the people that care about you will be there to help - i often reflect on the amazingly strong friendships i have developed over time - they are my fortune in life

1:33 am

morning, morning... sun shining, no work today... heehee!! :D

1:34 am

Sorry, Sonia, can't help as have not really looked a grid yet.

lol soni - i agree about the energy weapon!

ok, i am very tired, gotta call it a nite - take care jacula, everyone have a great evening/ day/whatever applies!

1:38 am

nite helen...

1:39 am

Ph7: having to do with Ph5? Can't think of anything else.

1:39 am

Alzheimer's is known as the long goodbye. It is somewhere beteen 20 (if you notice it then) and 12 years in the doing..

1:40 am

Thankfuly for you all, none of yu really know what that means or is like to go through, and I thank God you do not.

1:41 am

Coronation Street... and the Archers... both have Alzheimers storylines... sobering...

1:42 am

Sherb - thank you. But neither story has more than an inkling of what it is really all about.

1:42 am

hi guys. play ball!

1:43 am

You really think you are the only one who knows?

1:44 am

Jac - that was my thought too... the reality is not like a soap opera...

1:45 am

Sprite? What?

1:46 am

Just wondered. You were so very explicit in saying none of us know about Alzheimer and what it is to go through that process with a loved one.

1:46 am

Sherb. no it is not, not at all. But what is Sprite tyring to say to me now? Sprite, whatever you watnt to say you can say on here. I have nothing to hide. Or, you can say it on MSn

1:48 am

Sprite - should we discuss it on here in public or i private on msn? What do you think?

1:48 am

My question is clear, I think? You just said "Thankfuly for you all, none of yu really know what that means or is like to go through, and I thank God you do not." And I wondered, how on earth do you know?

1:49 am

hirap naman nito

1:49 am

Sprite, I know because I nursewd my father through it and I still haven't got over that experience yet.

1:50 am

I not only nursed him through it but had to go through sending him 'away' and watching him rushiing up to the door whe we left, asking to go home.

1:50 am

You might not be the only one, Jac. That's all I wanted to say.

1:52 am

I watched all of the rest of the folks in that closed ward., too, pleading to go homem, or acting out their former jobs. or moaning or crying, or standing up and pissing on tables. What more do you want to know Sprite?

1:52 am

I am obviously not getting through. Never mind then.

1:53 am

Sprite, I have no argument with you. I would just like to chat with you one to one.

1:55 am

jackieb_19@msn.com

1:56 am

I don't use msn, Jac, and I don't want to quarrel. All I wanted to say was: some of us may have lived through the same kind of hell you did with your father.

1:57 am

Morning all, just popped in to see what the grid is like today. Is it a nice one?

1:58 am

done

1:58 am

Moderate one, FMitch. Some really stupidhead words, to quote Griffs, and some really nice ones.

1:59 am

Sprite - I know am am not the first to go through this, that much is obvious. But why can we not connect on msn?

1:59 am

thanks Sprite, How is Griff doing, do you know? I haven't beenon early enough to catch up.

1:59 am

As I said, I don't use msn. It's disabled on my computer.

2:00 am

rycaut is is need of fireworks already it would seem.

2:00 am

Then rycaut gets... ~~~%%%~~~%%%~~~FIREWO RKS!~~~%%%~~~%%%~~~

2:02 am

Well, Sprite, you coud at least ez mail me on BabAnon or find a way of giving me some kind of contact address; I cannot understand quite what your problem is with me?

2:04 am

As I said, I am not getting though, that much is obvious. Never mind then, it's not worth quarrelling about. With that I am done too, btw.

2:05 am

But, Sprite, I am not quarreling! I can't understand what's going on with you.

2:07 am

Jac - at the risk of getting drawn in to this, I think sprite was just pointing out that you don't know that none of us has not experienced the same thing...

2:08 am

What Sprite is saying Jac is - we all have a cross to bear, she doesn't have a problem with you at all

2:08 am

double negative didn't quite work there, but you know what I mean...

2:10 am

I don't belive that I ever sai nbo onhere had experienced what I've been through!

2:10 am

My particular cross has kept me off the chat log for weeks excepting when someone siad anyone getting more than 30 words or so must be cheating.

2:11 am

I have quite a few crosse to bear but what the fu**! And, yes, I starred that.

2:11 am

I'm afraid you did Jac, read the log back and please can we all be friends again

2:12 am

cheating? why would anyone bother?

2:12 am

ooo *blinks* um ... is it safe to say hi?

2:12 am

I wondereed where you had got to, Ferrari.

2:12 am

Exactly Sherb

2:12 am

you may not have meant it that way, Jac, but that is what you said and that's what sprite was responding to...

2:13 am

morning Atalante :D ...beautiful day...

2:14 am

Atalante - Hello. Yes! However, it seems i may have said something that offended many. If it was me upset about my Dad dying from senile dementia etc., then sorry!

2:14 am

...the weather's usually a safe topic...

2:14 am

Hi Jac, don't get upset with Sprite, life's difficult enough at times, Yes?

2:14 am

it *is* a beuatiful day! sunny, warm, blue skies! and I have to go off for a blood test in half an hour. Just to put a downer on the day :P

2:15 am

soorry he got barmy and died, sorry you all got upset, sorry you all thought \I said something I didn't but fuck the lot of you anyway, cos myhy DFad died with his mouth wide open and I had to close it. So fuck the lot of you!

2:15 am

*group hug* I think a lot of us go through a lot more than any of us know. But at the same time, these things feel so personal that sometimes its hard to imagine that anyone else has done the same *sigh*

2:17 am

My father died before he was old enough to get Alzheimer's and left 3 young children, as I said crosses

2:17 am

Hello. Jacula, as hard as it must have been, what a gift of dignity you gave to him at the end from the sound of it.

2:17 am

ok, At, point taken. Just be sure Sprite get it too, cos she keeps geting on at me and I have no idea why.

2:18 am

Very true Atalante

2:18 am

Jac - if we're trading father stories, mine died when I was 13... can we change the subject please...

2:19 am

Does anyone have a clue?

2:20 am

i have 11 words........but not a clue

2:21 am

Sherb - we can change the subject of our fathers fucking off and leaving us before we are ready ( check bavck to my daughter an anorexia etc) when Sherb stops trying to stag antler me out. I really can't undrestand what that's all about.

2:21 am

can ya tell me some words

2:22 am

i just found one that deals with your back side.........

2:22 am

if only I knew what 'stag antler' meant...

2:22 am

We can't post words Kat, it's an unwritten rule

2:23 am

kat - why would we tell you some words? ...the idea of the game is to try and find them, as I think you know...

2:27 am

how many of you do it from the grid stats and how many work off of a list? i am just curious....didn't play yesterday's puzzle and am sitting up in the middle of the night here in Arizona monkey typing away.

2:27 am

grid stats. and list sometimes in desperation

2:28 am

bbnaz, I get as may words as I can by free typing, then any cluse already in the log and in final desperation I use the lists.

2:28 am

Ah, 24 words from the state I have been forced into this morn., and no stats. Well, you did ask!

2:29 am

bbnaz - depends on how much time I've got... just working off the grid this morning... but on working days, I refer to a list for the ones I can't find...

2:30 am

what a qu**mire this babble morning is!

2:30 am

i was finding it a bit posterior-ly challenged myself.

2:31 am

mmmm yes. very bottom heavy

2:31 am

same here Altante...and rely on the serious babblers for clues to enhance my below average scores!!

2:32 am

I try and get as many as poss without anything, some days are better than others. I need 40 words and I'm sure they're not there!

2:32 am

ooops sorry... Atalante

2:32 am

i for one know that without those "serious" babblers, i would not have finished the past five grids (other than Sunday's).........an all time record for me.

2:33 am

i suffer from "disbabblia"............

2:33 am

All the "bottom" words are at the bottom too

2:33 am

Can anyone give me the stats for today's puzzle? And hello and good morning, all. :)

2:34 am

snerkle

2:34 am

well, i have only ever completed two...with the help of a list! but always enjoy trying and reading the clues

2:34 am

Albo click on Licketys Babble Clues it will tell all

2:41 am

Hi ya'll just got here. What's wrong Jacula?

2:41 am

Jac .....

2:41 am

*sigh*

2:44 am

Jacula is very unhappy and has had a lot of pain ...so needs to vent

2:45 am

Oh. I hope he/she? feels better soon

Where has Jac gone?

2:47 am

yey...got a s/7...any clues for any others before i have to walk the dog (cross legged at the moment)!

2:47 am

the dog that is...not me!

2:47 am

Is that you or the dog Helz?

2:47 am

LOL! :)

2:48 am

forgot to say 'please'...no offence intended

2:49 am

quite a few of the 6's and 7's have that double letter in them if that's any help

2:49 am

argh! just realised I don't have any 7's at all. this grid is not as easy as I first thought.

2:50 am

pe 7 is people who write and pu 7 is people who like to make fun. Me, I need help with the fe's sigh

2:50 am

SHE will fell better as soon as people stop trying to tell her she does not know what she is talking about re Alzheimer's and her Dad, She could not give a flying eff what peeps think about other things... Yea well don't try her 'cos she's in fightiung mode tonight,,,

2:51 am

got to go for a bit now to see vampire nurse. quick question for UK people - do any of you know how I can find out my blood group? I know they process it for operations and stuff, but I don't need any of those at the moment - but I do need to find out my blood group

2:51 am

Sorry Jacula. Sounds like you've just gone through something really really painful. I'm really sorry

2:52 am

Atalante, it should be in yr medical records.

2:52 am

St- seeyour gp nurse or your gp.

2:52 am

thanx zas :-)

2:52 am

Hi Atalanta If you've ever donated blood, they can tell you your blood group

2:52 am

the medical records that got lost when I moved down to Kent *SIGH* how they lost them, I'll never know, they were about 10cm thick!

2:53 am

They lost your medical records? That's awful

2:53 am

and I've never donated blood - can't with the meds I'm on - but thanks, Jac, I'll ask the nurse - hopefully it'll be one of the nice talkative ones

2:54 am

Oh well, see you later Atalante.

2:54 am

see you in a bit *hugs all*

2:55 am

At, I would presume that you are entitled to know your blood type regardless if the nurse is chatty or not!

2:56 am

Nobody said you didn't know what you were talking about Jac, I'm sure you do. To go throgh something like that is awful but awful things happen all the time that's all that was said. It's not a competition to see who has the worst things to deal with, it's all relative and hearing other people's trials and tribulations can sometimes help us through our own but without denying them cos they aren't as bad as someone elses

2:57 am

I've loT the will to do this folks, \got to go. Hope to see some of you on The Other Sid3 (real life)

2:59 am

Take care Jac

su7 - one who likes to stay in the shade

3:03 am

I don't think I'm going to be back Ferrari's comment was typical of the world today,

Jac, I am on yahoo if you wanna chat... and my email is on my bio... would love to catch up! if you like

3:05 am

Thanks Jac, you don't know anything about me, as I said it's not a suffering competition

3:11 am

... and can we watch the language as there are youngsters around.

3:12 am

it's a mystery bbnaz...i have similar problems :-S

3:13 am

i have this image of dr g sitting back and rubbing his hands together gleefully when such issues arise.........

Ok. Bad day is a bad day... and things can go up the wall in no time at all on a chat log... all get past this? please!? We are friends here.... with altercations and innuendo aside

3:14 am

Mornin bex, how are you getting on with the grid today?

3:15 am

hi! i have 9 words and it is very hard. is the QU word a 4?

3:15 am

talking about words in the grid that are not "valid"..nothing else.

3:15 am

it is indeed bex

3:16 am

Thanks Mitch, this morning has upset me, Jac you have been unreasonable and I don't like being spoken to like that, this is a chat log that's supposed to be fun I thought. because of "stuff", obviously not as bad as yours Jac, I haven't been on here for a while, now I wish I hadn't bothered this morning also.

3:16 am

yes it is bex qu4/9 and you will find the qu is used in 2 a words aq4 and aq5, don't know if it is used in any others yet.

3:16 am

3:21 am

good morning! im finding thid grid very hard today!

3:21 am

Morning, Mel, finding it a bit tricky, words seem to be well hidden today but then you get a run of 4 or 5 and then grind to a halt again , so it's fun really.

3:21 am

morning...grid's a bit slow for me too

su 6 24 ? help me please

su6/24 - put an ending on the su5/12

3:23 am

3:26 am

3:28 am

oh no!! ...I was like that at Christmas... two weeks holiday, and two weeks with the flu... bad news... :(

3:28 am

3:28 am

ferrari - i've missed talking to you. but we seem to have managed to falll out now anyway. sorry about that.

3:28 am

3:29 am

3:32 am

3:36 am

3:37 am

That's ok Jac, I'm sorry too.

3:37 am

3:37 am

not in kansas here but in arizona it is 1:37a and I need to go to bed if I hope to get my daughter to school in the morning...heck it is the morning!

3:38 am

haven't looked today, bex... I'm having an icon holiday...

fe 4/8 can't find one of them in any dictionary, have the fight - d + s already, cant work out the other.

3:40 am

Hoo, I'm too sleepy to be doing this. I'm missing fo/4, and I have the depressing feeling that it should be obvious. : / Darn. Any clues?

It is obvious. Think of birds.

3:40 am

Icon day is 'extreme weather'btw.

3:41 am

albo - think of a chicken. fo4/11 use the letter count as a guide.

3:43 am

I'm with you Student. That's the only fe I have too sigh

3:43 am

bbnaz, its 0345 on my side on the rainbow how about u?

3:44 am

quarter to two in the morning here

3:44 am

!!! I knew it had to be obvious! Thanks, guys, I see it now. I can't believe I missed that... man, I should just give up and go to bed. :D

3:44 am

hehe :):) sorry bbnaz just caught up w/your message, was pulled way from computer!!

3:46 am

I'm in South Texas, "supposably" working, but just can't stay away from this game!! Just started playing and I love it!!

How many fe4/8s are there?

2

Okay the first one is easy, the second one is not so simple.

It's so random that I don't think there are even any clues for it.

3:49 am

think of the hats worn by Shriners and change the "z" to consonant that follows "g". The word will still sound the same

3:50 am

If you have the 1st f4/8 change the 3rd letter to the one adjacent to it

Omg bbnaz. That clue was awesome.

3:50 am

dunno, FM's clue was easier.

3:51 am

but thanks!

3:52 am

Thanks Bbnaz, just two more fe's to go...

3:52 am

Good morning, all.

Thanks guys. Shocking word.

3:53 am

got the fe 5 and 6. they work off of the last fe 4 and are finished in the lower left hand corner

3:53 am

Haz!!! Morning.

3:54 am

How are you this morning, FMitch?

3:54 am

Morning Haz.........but isn't it afternoon where you are?

3:54 am

No, it's 9.54 am. AND the sun is shining!

3:55 am

not firing on all cylinders today, so the grid is giving me a headache but the sun is shining so can't compain!!

3:55 am

morning Haz :D

3:55 am

so you on this side of the pond then?

3:55 am

bbnaz we are in the UK!!!

3:55 am

this grid is making my head hurt!

3:55 am

Wow Bbnaz, awsome clues!

3:56 am

Done. Anyone need any clues before I go to bed? It's 2AM here

3:56 am

Morning sherb. I'm in Northern Ireland - on the other side of the big pond from the Americans and on the other side of the little pond from the English, Welsh and Scots.

3:56 am

me too, bex... still can't finish the S's...

3:57 am

i only have 16 words:)

3:58 am

must visit there someday. my brother cannot seem to get past the shannon airport when he goes across the pond so that says volumes.

:( Can't find fe 5 and 6..

3:58 am

That's 16 more than when you started, Bex - if you're not feeling well, don't beat yourself up over the grid today.

3:59 am

thanks haz. when i started this i thought it was going to be easy with only 114 words but no it was a trick! :)

4:00 am

PP do you have the two fe4? If so, then drop the final letter on the second fe4 and wind your way around the bottom left hand corner starting with the fe*

4:00 am

You have to stay on your toes as far as Dr-God is concerned!

Haha! Awesome.

4:01 am

Hi Psycho Pup. Use Bbnaz' clue posted at 3:53 am. So long everyone. Thanx Bbnaz, have a wunnerful day

Thanks bb!x-x-x

4:10 am

4:16 am

4:18 am

sorry bex, only got 2 coming off that r myself. night night bbnaz.

4:18 am

maybe I need to do something else... sudoku... later folks :)

4:18 am

There's a re5 - relating to kidneys

4:22 am

There are two r4/5 - one spotty, the other with a different vowel

4:22 am

thanks haz im missing the one about the kidneys

Lol already had the spotty one, never woulda guessed the other though.

4:23 am

thanks for clues just got it!

4:24 am

ra4/4 ra4/5 re4/4 re5/10 r e4/5 For the kidney one, think about the unit where people are treated for kidney problems, or Start of Miss Zellwegger's name, and the beginning of Miss Silverstone's name.

4:25 am

Good - you got it!

4:31 am

Hi all - just found the fish - usually at least one here :)

Haha, will be thinking of fish for the rest of the puzzle, now!

4:34 am

Hi Dianne!

4:34 am

im done.

Well done!

Haha, as embarrassing as this is, I'll admit...I only have 36 words. -Cough-. Lol.

4:35 am

congrats oggy !

4:35 am

Congratulations, oggy!

4:36 am

Well, psycho puppy, you're nursing a cough, so you can't be expected to go too fast!

Haha! That makes me feel better. Lol.

Yayayayyy! 39...

4:37 am

Someone should start a resource in Angelsong's babble page entitled 'Reasons why I can't do a grid'

LOL haz!

4:40 am

Mr President! How are you?

Has anyone got Si6/18 or Si7/28 yet?

4:40 am

LOL Haz, good idea! Hey MrP :)

PP si6 & 7 is a colour in brown

4:41 am

Or a double dose of Miss Miller.

Fmitch, Haz .... doing good over here! How is the northern hemisphere holding up!

Lol thanks.

4:42 am

The northern hemisphere seems to have forgotten that it's spring! Yesterday we had snow - the largest snowflakes I have ever seen!

4:42 am

Spring is almost here and the sun is shining today, so all is well with the world.

well, the antipodes is having full snow storms... and it is APRIL!! that is incredible!!

4:44 am

How funny Haz, OK spring is almost here in England/Berkshire.

4:44 am

My goodness - and here I was envying you all that warmth!

4:47 am

Well, I've gathered up 62 words so I should take a break, put the next load of laundry in and 'get the day kicked into shape' as my husband would say.

4:49 am

well thats over 1/2 way Haz so a good place to take a break I guess.

Guess it's time I got my bf out of bed. Catch y'all later! And thanks for everyone's help! Good luck folk! x-x-x

4:50 am

See ya PP

4:52 am

well i have finished sudoku and have 21 words here so im going to get ready cuase going out will be back later!

5:00 am

back :)

5:02 am

grid hasn't really got any better since you were last here Atalante LOL

5:02 am

pfft! thats a shame!

5:04 am

anyone got a clue for the se5/10 please?

5:05 am

hello. good day.

5:07 am

Hi Cliff

5:08 am

se5/10 - taken in pod form as a laxative

5:09 am

Hello, cliffopa.

5:09 am

mmmmm lovely word!

5:10 am

Thanks Haz, suddenly thinking of Frankie Howard there and Up Pompeii. Think it's time for me to take a break too. TTFN

5:10 am

maybe its because i just got up 10 min. ago, but i'm just not seeing many words i recognise in this grid.

5:10 am

its the grid ... not you ...

5:11 am

Cliff - the words aren't as obvious as usual on this grid, but keep looking.

5:11 am

Good morning eveyone, is there a clue in the log for sa6,24? I've looked and looked, but it's stumping me. Thanks

5:12 am

I don't have it yet.

5:14 am

I fould it, sa plus the letter that comes after m plus the opposite of down

5:15 am

Thanks - got it now as well.

5:16 am

fe4/8 fe5/18 fe6/30 fe4/8 fo4/11

5:28 am

don't you just love scottish words!

5:29 am

Atalante - we use a lot of Scottish words over here!

5:30 am

Though not the fe words much!

5:31 am

my husband was actually telling me yesterday about the connection between northern Ireland and Scotland yesterday - I get so confused with Irish / N Irish politics nad religion!

5:32 am

i'm not sure i'll be able to go listless very long today. i only have about 35 words.

5:32 am

It's complicated! But we have a very rich language over here because we have English, Ulster-Scots and Irish gaelic influences.

5:33 am

my husband lived in Belfast for a good while, so he can at least explain the basics so I can understand them!

5:33 am

Cliffopa, never worry about going listless. That was a concept dreamt up by masochists like hurshy, Atalante and Sprite!

5:33 am

morin all

5:34 am

That's interesting, Atalante! I hope he didn't have too many bad things to say about the place, (fingers crossed)

5:34 am

and we all grab the lists when fed up of being stubborn anyway!

5:34 am

Good morning, hannah lou.

5:35 am

I actually met him for the first time in Belfast :) He loved the place - generally - apart from living on the murder mile for a year and getting shot at while at uni!!

5:35 am

i know you are right haz. just trying to challenge myself a bit. i give in when i go 15 min without a single word.

5:36 am

thats the way to do it, cliff. push yourself a bit, but then gracefully give in when it becomes all too much!

5:36 am

Eek - that sounds nasty! Things are a lot quieter now. In fact there is a huge amount of building work going on so you would probably see great changes - depending on how long it has been since you were across.

5:38 am

I'd love to go back ... I keep trying to persuade husband that we can come over this summer for just a pootle round the place - he can show me everywhere he used to know, and I'd like to see Belfast again, and then Dublin as well

5:38 am

Cliff- I think your approach is right. It is to be enjoyed, rather than endured. Although there was a grid last week which was horrible even with the list!

5:39 am

Good morning everyone : )

5:39 am

You should come, Atalante - the centre of the city is looking great. I had a school friend who came across after almost 30 years away and she couldn't believe the transformation.

5:39 am

Good morning, lola!

5:39 am

the only reason I do try and not use the list is that (being utterly modest here) I can normally look at the lists and just immediately find the words, and its not so much of a challenge

5:40 am

this game has been great for me. as a result of my 2nd auto accident in '02 (rear-ended by someone doing over 95 mph) i have had great difficulty finding words in my head. i find i don't have to concentrate as hard when speaking now.

5:40 am

How long have you been doing babble, Atalante?

5:40 am

oh that's wonderful! there really is something to be said for mental exercise, I'm sure

Does anyone else find that they started slow and improved? Im hoping this isnt something you're either great at or no good at.

5:41 am

this will sound silly, but I'd love to see the Harland and Wolff crane things again. They are so enormous! When I was there, they were looming out of the mist looking like giants

5:42 am

it took me 2 days to even figure out how the game was played :)

5:42 am

about as long as sprite ... however long that is! we joined at about the same time

5:42 am

My sister worked as a temp in the shipyard and has actually been on top of one of the cranes! The shipyard has more or less closed down but Samson and Goliath are to be retained as they are almost symbolic of the city.

5:42 am

but then I'd played Boggle incessantly since childhood before this!

5:44 am

I think babble is a game that everyone gets better at the more they practice. I'm routinely entering words now that I had never heard of pre-babble.

5:44 am

oh good, I'm glad they are being kept. they aren't exactly beautiful, but in a way they are. they are very *there*, very much a presence

5:45 am

Hi all :) does anyone have the su6/24 yet, it's got me truly stuck?

5:45 am

morin sha

5:45 am

morning hannah lou

5:48 am

urf. just drunk a big thing of chocolate milk. now I feel really sick. one day I will realise these things will happen *before* drinking the stuff

5:50 am

that actually helped me find one of the na words atlante!

5:50 am

really? lol! well I'm glad I'm helping someone! :)

5:52 am

plus...now i am looking at that section of the grid differently. just got myself another 5 words :)

5:53 am

cool! just don't expect me to drink chocolate milk every time you want a few more words!!

5:54 am

no problem :)

5:58 am

i cannot see the w. any hints?

6:00 am

oh no. i just found it. i can only imagine what you all are thinking.

6:00 am

su6/24 Muhammad's way of life viewed as a model for Muslims w4 the owl is w***

6:00 am

Cliffopa - the w4/8?

6:01 am

Thanks Gwen :)

6:12 am

Good Morning all. Just dropped in and found noone chatting for 10 minutes. Everything OK? Or is the grid taking anap?

6:13 am

the grid is taking my brain inge. morning.

6:13 am

We're all concentrating like fury!

6:14 am

4:13 am, looks like a blur of colors more than letters.

6:14 am

Good Morning... I'm around but feeding baby so playing one handed, which means no chat for a bit :-)

6:15 am

I am going to help my husband give a talk to a garden club at 1 p.m. With housecleaning day and all I am not even going to start the puzzle. Miss it already. At nine I have water excercise class. the day is filling up too fast.

6:18 am

Inge - you could do a paper version for yourself - or just lurk. Today is supposed to be house-cleaning for me as well!

6:18 am

when one of my cats insists on some petting while i am at the keyboard i have to go one-handed. love the words that only require one.

6:24 am

Howdy all

6:25 am

morning... I need a quick favor. any Babbler who uses Internet Explorer, please load the resource page, and tell me if it displays correctly. I've done a little tweaking of the css.

6:25 am

Angelsong- it looks fine to me - wider than it had been.

6:26 am

Good morning, adsman.

6:26 am

angelsong - rules of the game section does not view properly. big open space with text pushed to right.

angelsong it looks fine.

6:27 am

after the scoring section it looks fine.

its ok on my screen

6:29 am

maybe the us version of explorer is different.

6:29 am

Fine on my screen as well

6:30 am

try it again in IE, please. It works fine for me; I've narrowed the sidebar just a little more.

6:31 am

{{{Angel}}} just checked it out and everything looks fine and dandy. GOODMORNING BABBLERS!!!

6:31 am

Looks fine still. Faerikae - how are you today?

6:32 am

Anglesong, my version looks good.

6:32 am

okay, i think maybe because i had it across the whole screen it was messing up. looks fine when i don't use the whole screen mode.

6:32 am

Hi Haz - I'm doing fine and yourself? Looks as though it might rain but I really don't care if it does.

6:33 am

hi, Faerie.......I get Dylan Hugs today! we're going to babysit until his mom gets off work...

6:33 am

I'm fine this morning - I was actually up at an unearthly hour through the night thanks to over-consumption of cheese and a dodgy gall bladder. But I'm okay now.

6:33 am

Inge - I got in trouble because of you....the other night when you left with 5 words to go.

6:34 am

Angle awwwwwww that is so sweet.

6:34 am

What did you do wrong, faerie?

6:35 am

Haz - oh my the life of a vet. lol. someone needs to hide the cheese a little better. lol

6:36 am

Hi everybody!!! Is Jacula here? Her and Sprite got ihto and argument about 3:30 this morning I was wondering how she's doing if she's ok

6:36 am

I told Inge I understood quiting with only 5words to go because I've quit with only 2 left. And she was giving great clues.

6:36 am

I'm gradually learning what foods to ration if I want to avoid a flare-up. Cheese joins the list...

6:36 am

Hi Shorty :)

6:37 am

BRB

6:37 am

Shorty - I read through the log when I came on this morning - it was nasty! I don't know whether Jacula has been around lately.

6:37 am

i know

6:38 am

DId someone 'get on your case' about it, faerie? Everyone's entitled to leave when they want!

6:38 am

gotta change my icon BRB

6:38 am

the chat earlier was ... interesting ...

6:38 am

shorty, I think I've got the Resource page display sorted out. it should be working now in IE.

6:39 am

Ever the diplomat, Atalante!

6:39 am

ha h athe diplomat who barrelled straight into the middle of it by mistake!

6:40 am

Well, at least you tried!

6:41 am

was scary ...!

6:45 am

Morning all, not doing good today but will keep trying without the list for a few more mins.

6:45 am

OMG-Shorty you are 100% correct. Jacula and Spirite really did get into it. I hope Jacs comes back. She is so upset. I'm worried about her.

6:46 am

worry about sprite too!

6:46 am

Haz - um yeah...but it's was ok. I didn't get mad or get my feelings hurt so what the heck. I'm just thankful it was an argument like this mornings.

6:47 am

Jacula will calm down eventually - it happened before with another player she got mad at.

6:47 am

Actually I had no argument at all. Was just ask to encourage Inge to stay and finish.

6:48 am

I know. Spirite is a faithful fan of Babble and I worry about both of them I should have said that in the first place. I Love Everyone, happy, happy, joy, joy Ren and Stimpy *grin*

6:48 am

*grins* and yeah, Jac will cool down ...

6:49 am

Well, you're happy, Faerie!

6:49 am

Just reading the log, what did you do wrong Faerie?

6:50 am

Nothing Inge just blathering now. teehee*

6:50 am

what's the theme today? *unsubtly changing the subject*

6:50 am

I know I was like whoa!

6:50 am

dunno which is harder. playing with one hand while feeding baby, or playing on two hours of sleep (probably less), or begging said baby to please, please, please, just sleep for a smidge more. She's been fussy all night. At least she doesn't scream when she's fussy...

6:50 am

Ok I read the rest of the log now. You mean they wanted more clues? Oh well, happens to the best of us.

6:51 am

Inge - don't you ever quit the game when you only have 5wrds left to find. Even though I would. *teehee*

6:51 am

They did want more clues. Exactly and you were tired. So therefore I understand.

6:52 am

knutmeg - don't overstretch yourself, please. Your health and the baby's welfare is more important than the grid!

6:53 am

Need something to keep me awake while I'm feeding her. Every time I try to put her down, she wakes up within 20 minutes or so. Really frustrating.

6:53 am

And I'm not even sure she's hungry any more. >.<

6:53 am

I take it you are nursing yourself?

6:55 am

Nut - here, give her to me for awhile and you go get some rest. I held Shorty grandbaby last night. We passed her around the room. *grin*

6:55 am

actually doing both. having issues with nursing, but I want her to get the benefits of it, so when I can take no more, I switch to a bottle (per our doctor's instructions)

6:55 am

How old is Olivia and what weight is she?

*waves* good afternoon everyone! :-)

6:56 am

Hey Mickey - good morning

6:59 am

Three weeks old today and 7lbs 9 ounces at her check up a week ago

7:00 am

Nut-she is so tiny....it must be very fustrating. sorry.

7:01 am

I remember the frustrations of a newborn! No lights on the forehead to indicate what the problem is. You've done well to nurse her so far, but don't beat yourself up if it becomes too difficult. Could your mum give you any advice?

7:01 am

Afternoon Mikey ;)

7:03 am

knut My Grandson is 8 weeks and weighs 13 Lbs he was never 7 lbs outside of the womb

7:04 am

Not too sure about my mum. right now at least I know she is asleep. She had major back surgery the day after I gave birth so she is still recovering, I try not to call her this early. Although, I may give in this morning. I think Liv is just extra gasey... she has been burping a lot, and just spit up. So that may explain the fuss. Gonna see if she goes to sleep now with a pacifier.

7:05 am

knut, could it be colic? i swear my son never slept more than 1 hr for the first 3 months.

7:05 am

shorty- I was really expecting a big baby. Then she was born at 7 pounds 6 ounces and lost 13 ounces the first week, so she got down to 6 pounds 9 ounces. She's so very tiny. And Haz is right, there is no light on their foreheads indicating needs.

7:06 am

Okay, leave your mum for now and see if Olivia will settle. Don't pick her up straightaway if she whimpers, she may just need time to settle. And then, take a nap yourself.

7:07 am

doctor says its a distinct possibility that she has a mild form of colic. She doesn't scream inconsolably for hours on end, but she does have these periods of refusing to sleep longer than an hour or so.

7:08 am

wow 13 oz the first week

7:08 am

See if the doctor can prescribe some drops to help. I was extremely fortunate in having babies who didn't have colic, but from friends I know how distressing it can be for all concerned.

7:08 am

i think i cried more than my son. i was only just barely 20 when he was born and had no idea what was going on until he was almost over it.

7:11 am

She just fell asleep next to me. I'm *not* moving her until she's been asleep for more than 20 minutes (please hit deep sleep, Liv). If she keeps this up much longer, I will be calling the doctor. She has been like this since 8pm last night. The two hours of sleep I got was the longest she slept for.

7:12 am

Cliff--I know the feeling. Its too bad babies don't come with instruction manuals when they pop out. Too much guessing!

7:12 am

Good morning all... is it just me or does this seem to be a nasty little grid??

7:13 am

Jera-I'm not finding it all that friendly, for sure.

7:13 am

n eclues 4 the last se-5-10 please

7:13 am

{{{Jera}}} *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle*

7:13 am

oh dear, another mean one?

7:13 am

Speaking of which, that first pe5/12--any clues?

7:14 am

Jera - good morning. It's not a 'words in the face they're so obvious' type of grid.

7:14 am

*waves back at Mikey in case he's still here*

7:14 am

Good Morning Hurshy.

7:14 am

29 words to go - including *4* 7s! eep!

7:15 am

Thanks, faerie, think I'm gonna need it... keep trying to spell henna & fennel... they are never there... *sigh*

7:15 am

pe5/12 - add letters that are a homonym of eyes

7:15 am

LOL

7:15 am

like pasta but with an a not an e PE-5

7:15 am

Thank you Haz! I've been working on that one for far too long. :-)

7:16 am

Haz, I swear I tried that one... finger must have slipped... I need to trim my nails again...

7:16 am

morning faerie, ata, haz, etc etc. i just started - so i have to hurry to catch up to you ata! phaser not a word??? UNfair

7:16 am

SE-5-10 last one?

7:16 am

Atalante, we are close... I have FOUND 30 words, LOL!

7:16 am

Hurshy - that is some wicked lighting you have there.

7:17 am

yay Jera! *cheers* go go go!

7:17 am

se 5/10 is a product often used in laxatives

7:17 am

Totally agree Hurshy! Phaser *is* a word. This grid just is being mean about it. :-)

7:18 am

I concur re phaser... what's up with that? Do I watch too much Star Trek??

7:18 am

actually - get this - it is a FIRE TORNADO!

7:19 am

Hi, Mickey. Still no German flag. Dr. God may still be stitching one together. Sind Sie ein echter Deutscher oder zugewandert?

7:20 am

I almost didn't participate in the theme icon today... extreme weather doesn't really speak to me... but I so appreciated everyone doing turtles for Sprite on her birthday, I feel compelled to support the community...

7:20 am

Hurshy-I've never heard of such a thing. Now that is WICKED

7:20 am

i had never heard of it either, it just came up when i googled tornado

7:20 am

you know, Star Trek has been around since, what, the 60s? Phasers have been there since the beginning. How can babble not accept phaser when the word is at *least* 40 years old??

7:21 am

refresh

oh; i'm sorry, shorty and faeriekae.....back now; i was busy filling in some info in my Babble profile.

7:21 am

Mine just plain old lighting.

7:22 am

Right, it's lunch-time and I've finished the grid, so that means house-cleaning for me... Happy hunting, all.

7:22 am

Mikey I think Jera is looking for you. But good morning/afternoon :)

7:22 am

Bye Haz.

7:23 am

Congratulations, Haz!!!

7:23 am

OMG-I found the aq's all by myself.

7:23 am

cliffopa... I was 27 when my little Sprite was born & we had crying contests as well... I would make sure she was safe then go in the bathroom & bawl as loud as her... lol, good times, good times... My point being age doesn't necessarily mean much for a new mommy... new is new...

7:23 am

Ok Mickey, now that I read your lprofile my questions are answered. Have to leave now. (waves Auf Wiedersehn ) Bye.

7:23 am

bye haz :)

7:24 am

wheeeeeee! I now have a sprite as a pic *refresh*!

7:24 am

*~*~*Boom*~*~*~ for HAZ

7:24 am

I was just catching up reading the chat & saw him wave, so I waved back. I do that sometimes even after people have left... it's one of my charms...

oh, ok Inge; was just about to answer you! :-P

7:24 am

Ata - that is freaky....

7:24 am

*looks frightened that there are aq's today*

7:25 am

Inge - see ya later.

7:25 am

sprites are fab - if you're interested in what they are (lightning phenomena above clouds) http://www.spacedaily.com/news /eo-04zzz.html

7:25 am

Hello, everyone. It's a gorgeous day in the Green Mountains. Crocus are up..birds are back..life is good 8)

7:25 am

jera - my problem was dr's did not give me much respect as a 20 yr old mom (even tho i had been married 2 yrs). two of my son's pediatricians were also mine when i was young.

why would Jera be looking for me, faeriekae? :-/

7:26 am

Dont' know Mikey. Someone was looking for you earlier maybe it wasn't Jera.

were you looking for me, Jera?

7:26 am

It's going to be pretty here today as well, gramma

7:27 am

gramma its beautiful here also were actually going to have 3 nice days in a row SHOCK

7:27 am

I was just waving, Mikey... don't be scared...

7:27 am

Morning Gramma - my crocus are also blooming and my tulips are just about ready to pop open. Even though it may snow again. ugh. But not today.

7:28 am

Aint life grand!

7:28 am

We are going to have nice weather until the day of the Girl Scout meeting... of course... we had a great meeting last week in my back yard at the new picnic tables... that was fun!

7:28 am

I'm Looking AT you Mikey LOL

7:28 am

morning all! Gorgeous here in Nashville as well--bleeding hearts, columbine, and azaleas all opening in my garden--and peonies in tight buds . . . :-)

7:29 am

cliffopa, some doctors are like that no matter how old you are... they know stuff & you don't so you must be inferior... I'm like, well, if everyone went to med school you wouldn't be special & I wouldn't be paying... so shape up & respect me already!

7:29 am

cute icon Une

lol, ok; not 'scared', Jera! ;-) and what do you want to be doing that for, shorty? :-P

7:30 am

*wishes she hadn't been so lazy about planting bulbs last fall*

7:30 am

many of my spring bulbs were winter-killed this year. not enough snow in NH.

7:31 am

I can't help it I know your lifestyle but you are so DANG georgeous!! :) :)

7:31 am

Gorgeous days vary across the globe. The crocus have pushed up through the snow. We aren't in full spring quite yet.

7:31 am

cliffopa, sounds like you had a weird winter like we did!

7:32 am

They dont make them like you in Ohio

7:32 am

Une-love the icon. and I can't wait for my garden to start springing into action. This is my second year in my home so I should see some color. If I rememeber correctly about flowers. " the first year they sleep the second year they creep, the third year they leap "

7:32 am

Nor in Michigan Shorty *grin*

7:33 am

great quote, faerie! never heard that before :-)

7:33 am

LOL faerie or any where in the USA LOL

7:33 am

it was wierd une - warm with rain in jan and feb, no mud season (we recently had brush fires on the mt behind me) and very little snow.

7:33 am

Ok I'm diving in going to try to finish this grid so I can clean house.

7:34 am

I'm shooting off for a bit to do stuff and cuddle the dog etc. be back to finish later!

7:34 am

we had such warm temps EARLY, folks already have lilacs and wisteria in full bloom--insane!

7:34 am

Ata - later

7:34 am

bye atlante!

7:36 am

aha - she's giving me a chance!

7:37 am

can anyone please give me the clues for the na 4/4s i have the one which is a rel;ation

7:38 am

the other na 4 is that type of bread (indian?)

7:38 am

can i have a clue 4 the su-6-24 please?

7:39 am

su 6/24 = sa 4/5 + 2 middle letters of today's first word

7:40 am

the su 7/48 for anyone who needs it is the round yellow object in the sky, plus wi 4/8 (an owl is wi**)

7:41 am

thats me finished

7:41 am

thanx cliff thats me finished

7:41 am

thanks, cliffopa!

7:41 am

Congratulations Sha!!!!

7:41 am

Thanks, cliffopa. I was stumped on that one. Didn't know that word existed. BTW, anyone think Dr G has an an4/4 fixation?

7:41 am

yay for sha!

7:43 am

kudos, sha and hanna lou!

7:47 am

Woot! Finished! Gonna try to put baby down (again) and then maybe I'll get a nap for myself, too!

7:47 am

CONGRATULATIONS NUT!!!

7:48 am

congrats! hope you can get some rest . . .

7:48 am

WTG knut!

Hi everyone!! I have a request and hope you can help as it is an important request for a babbler!!

7:51 am

Hi Mr P. whats up?

7:51 am

What can I do for you Mr.P?

7:54 am

I'm back... just in time! What's up, MrP?

7:55 am

While we're waiting...how about the last an6?

OK here it goes... Lickety has his clue page and he got a bit of flak from someone the other day about his efforts... don't know why.... ?? I think his clues are great! if you guys use his clues and think they are worth anything.... can you please email him. The flak he got gave him a bit of a downer, and an email from one babbler might lifted his spirits heaps! He did this for US and he loves babble... it was just so rare, but it would help him Please pass it on if you see fit! Lickety is very good and proud of babble!! and he takes nothing from it... not ever!

hi everyone!

7:57 am

Well that's crap! I wouldn't get thru w/out it.

7:57 am

OMG-I use Licketys clues every day. I'll be sure to send and e-mail. I can't imagine anyone having problems with it. I never have.

7:57 am

hi temple :)

7:58 am

Hi Temple :)

7:58 am

I've never used his clues, but that sounds just mean.. not his fault if you don't get his clues... sheesh! Kinda telling on yourself, IMHO

7:58 am

Hi 72 to 8)

It wasn't so much a problem as he was critisized for the content... by someone who said it was useless... I felt bad for him and he felt even worse!

7:59 am

Now that thats over...back to me..AN6, please. The last one.

8:00 am

Hi Mr P. It seems like a day for ill-temper! I fled the scene some hours earlier when the shouting started! Lickety's page is just fine - it's there for those who need / want it. Keep up the good work!

8:01 am

mr p, i'd be happy to email him. i actually switched from bj's list to lickety's when bj's was missing and now i prefer it. the ability to put the words in the boxes is great, and also helps me to be a better clue-giver.

8:01 am

Dippnal - I was just wondering myself. Why can't we just all get along. It is a game. Nothing more.

thanks! lickety has his contact details on his page so please email him if as he needs a bit of a confidence boost right about now! thanks to you all!

8:02 am

cliffopa, try your clue skills out on me. ;}

awww, mr p! don't we look cute together! guys - there are many people on this site who do not chat...many different opinions. i happened to log on after the jacs/tuva thing and it really opened my eyes. I think if they don't like it, they don't use it. I know many people do appreciate the clues. hey mikey!

8:03 am

sorry gramma, i'm working backwards and don't have that one.

today has been an interesting day and I am sorry to post this today... should have waited a while! forgot the drama of the day! sorry! will get over it no doubt and lickety is too sweet to let this one go! He is the nicest person in the world... and that is coming from his WIFE of ten years!!

8:03 am

72 TO, what time was the fracas?

8:04 am

Thanks anyway.

8:04 am

faerie - it's a lovely Spring day here and the first day of the hols - should be uplifting for all!! Finishing babble early in the day is a big plus, too!!

today? i don't know...the jacs thing was months ago. tuva is banned from the site.

8:05 am

I'm not really playing but just saw the discussion of lickety's list. My best friend and I both use it daily and love it!!!! I love the tick boxes and the ability to type in the words. Really helps in the longs list of re words to be able to see them alphabetically.

8:07 am

mrp - though i have not really utilized it myself, i cannot understand why anyone would so pointlessly and senselessly go out of their way to do something like that and hurt someone else. give him a hug for me, mrp.

8:08 am

{{{MusicMom}}}

thank you all! hurshy... it is so sweet of you to say that. it did hurt him and it is just not nice to rubbish another babbler especially their hard work. He will be so pleased that you all appreciate his hard work and he is an avid fan of babble!!

8:09 am

Temple it happened really, really early this morning.

8:10 am

Hi faerie - and everyone else. I'm really at Bible study but grammalori had some work to finish from last night ( she's a transcriptionist) so I'm killing time while she is proofing the last of her files. i didn't get to play at all this weekend.

8:10 am

thats me finished

8:11 am

WOOOHOOO! WTG, Ruthie!!!

ruthy gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*

8:11 am

Dippnall-I'm so excited for Spring to get here I can hardly stand it. I love to garden "flowers" I have 3 gardens so far plus I have a small green house in my basement to start seeds. I've got Castor Beans in the green house right now and some seeds my Mom gave me but she wasn't sure what they were so I guess I'll find out. Can't wait.

8:12 am

WTG RUTHIE - Congratulations!!!

8:12 am

ty everyone

8:12 am

All of our window sills have seedlings in them... started as part of Spring ritual (late this year)...

8:13 am

Oh no - I'll be right back - I've been moving everything in my bedrooms and I have a stack of clothes to go to Goodwill and my Dog Max has made bed in them. Looks like I'll have to wash them again. But he looks so comfy *smile*

Lickety's page is a *wonderful* help, ja; i'm sure making good use of it!!! :-)

8:15 am

Jera - I have a couple starting in my Kitchen window also. I don't know what they are called but they are really deep purple tublar shaped flowers when they bloom. I planted them last year and they were out of this world so when the seeds popped I grabbed them.

8:15 am

Goodness it's a struggle getting to halfway today! I'm only at 54 words & I can't cheat until I find 3 more!!

8:16 am

faerie - it's mainly down to my long-suffering husband, but our patch is wonderful at the moment. Lots of varieties of doffodil/narcissi, crocus, hyacinths, periwinkles, tulips, etc... makes you glad to be alive! All of the trees are beginning to blossom, too. When my son (now 18) was small he refered to blossom as 'pink leaves' - the terms stuck! (To his embarrasment!)

8:16 am

Gotta go make Max another bed...and throw these things in the laundry - again. brb

well, I am going to have the "GO Lickety Clues" petition! He is so great and I hope anyone who uses it emails him and gives him a boost!!

8:18 am

Dippnall - that is so sweet. Sounds like your hubby has a green thumb. My is getting pretty green itself. I don't think I could handle not having flowers and trees.

8:19 am

Yea, finally found that last <beep> o word!

8:19 am

Mr P. I think Lickity has support from all of us so - Go Lickity...

8:20 am

Well, that's halfway for me... time to take a break & get the little one off to school... later, folks!

8:21 am

wow, there WAS some drama this morning wasn't there? such an unfortunate misunderstanding. i'm glad i wasn't around for the drama this time...

hurshy! it was intense... all innuendo and altercation after altercation... but that is chat logs for you... all was forgiven in the end!! that is the good news!!

8:24 am

gramma - i found the an 6. do you still need it?

8:24 am

it was really such a little thing that got blown so out of proportion, looks like. did they work it out privately? i didn't see any resolution in the log.

hurshy.... it was all worked out and forgiven.

8:25 am

well that's a relief. and now can someone tell me if i am dealing with any weird first letter combos - lw? pw? pn? and if so how many and how long?

8:26 am

yes--lw4 and lw5 :)

8:27 am

sigh. i had a feeling... by the pricking of my thumbs...

8:27 am

thanks, une, got 'em.

8:28 am

no pn or pw

8:29 am

well that's something, anyway. :)

FINISHED!! (phew!) nice little grid!!

8:32 am

yes! i'm done! (the key was i didn't have to run off to work today :)

8:32 am

kudos, mrp!!

yay cliff! yay mr. p!

cliffopa gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*

8:38 am

8:39 am

:) :) :) :) thank you o'chita! :) :) :) :)

8:40 am

Hey guys! MrP, I'll email lickety right now! I LOVE his page and use it every day. Who on earth was the person who didn't like it??

8:47 am

morning Lola. here is hoping for an smooth sail to the finish. the upset earlier made for snarky dreams after going to bed......and I came in late on the spat.

bb... it is a shame that the language and rating went to pot... but all is well now... apologies and happy ending all round!

congrats, lola!

8:51 am

i am so glad. i didn't say much as it didn't appear that i could contribute any oil to the water. i like them so much and hate to see the hurt spreading

i don't want to read back but you've got my curiousity up...was this a known babbler arguing?

8:52 am

any clues for the AN 4,8?

owl, it was ugly and frustrating and well-known and liked babblers!! just a miss-understanding and not worth the screen it was printed on!

an4/8 to make ne* again

things will calm down - in the meantime mailing lickety is a good thing. then ,i guess, letting it go...enogh of us here to show our support and boost lickety's spirits see you later! (((mr. p )))

8:55 am

*gasps again* Oooh, thanks MrP!!! Just mailed lickety....sorry I never bothered to thank him before : /

8:55 am

MrP - I was reading back through the log there - I'm going to e-mail and let lickety know how much I value his work. Has somebody put something in the water to make babblers so tricky over the past few days?

8:55 am

mrp, I have that as the an5 and the plural as an6. I am looking for the an4,8 at the bottom.........or the an6 at the bottom would be nice too. just before the last bottom word that is ;~)

8:56 am

uh mrp, i found your clue.......i AM still tired.

8:57 am

I too just mailed Lickety. So there!

an6 an + tatum o'ne**

8:58 am

an6/18 - resembles a word that means 'yearly' but change a vowel within the word.

8:58 am

am using Lickety's page today and it is really nice! I will send a congratulatory/hearty thanks e-mail after I finish this grid~

you guys are the best!!! Lickety is asleep in the couch... he has his last subject assignment to do for his degree and is such a slack ar**.... it will be a wonderful boost for him and send the message of love that he nees!!

9:00 am

those yearly clues seem to be the two an5,10 words...can't monkey type the an6 yet but will keep trying

9:00 am

Don't often see a Football League side in the grid! (ar7)

9:01 am

bbnaz - the yearly clue IS for the an6 (double your n)

9:01 am

HEHEHE Ray. I thought that too when I found it and I only know of that team (living here in the desert of Arizona)

yeah ray!! ar7/28 is very cool!!

my goodness!! it is almost midnight!! time for me to hit the horse and hay!! goodnight all!!

9:03 am

Goodnight, MrP. Sleep well!

9:04 am

TYVM HAZ. I got it...just let my fingers do the work and your clue be the guide.

9:05 am

sweet dreams Mrp!

9:05 am

Glad you got there in the end, bbnaz.

9:06 am

rofl @HAZ! so what time is it in the emerald isle now?

9:06 am

It's 3.06 pm here.

9:08 am

7.06a here.........restless few hours of shut eye on this end and now i am back at it with only 32 to find.

9:09 am

You'll finish with lots of time to spare for the rest of the day then.

9:10 am

hope so but have to take out of town family out to the farm to see the new filly that was born Mar 16th at 9a

9:12 am

That sounds like an exciting outing. It certainly sounds more exciting than housework which is what is awaiting me.

9:13 am

life is so short to spend more than perfunctory attention to housework ~ at least that is my excuse. pathetic I know.

9:13 am

Hurshy, are you still here?

9:17 am

good morning

9:18 am

Could we jump right in with some C clues please?

9:18 am

Good morning, harpjane.

9:19 am

ce4/6 - add the first few letters of the small round green vegetable

9:20 am

well Harp, you could always wear your c*** when it is cold but you would need to change that first vowel to the second one..........

9:20 am

And that's the only c in the grid!

9:21 am

Ok. I'm done with the C's! Much easier than yesterday with 31!

9:23 am

the very last ha 6 word.........i am stuck but babblia typing away

9:23 am

h plus the author of Pride and Prejudice, minus a letter

9:24 am

got it just as you helped. thanks Haz.

9:25 am

Or German houses for the Germans among us.

9:26 am

Has anyone heard from TSM? I was wondering how she is

9:53 am

ARB add a cons to your su5

9:54 am

ARB, su word is like the 1 above it w/a consonant on the end

9:54 am

Done -- thank you Caitlin -- though I have no idea what the word means.

9:54 am

YW ARB

9:55 am

hi ARB. Thinkm about ah ... sun warm im here also

9:56 am

tyvm from this end on that su6 also!

9:57 am

Thank you one and all -- I now know that the word is Islamic -- heaven knows I should recognize that word living in Israel

9:58 am

I asked earlier; now, I'm pleading. I have one left. The last an6, pleases.

9:58 am

Housework calling...back later bye

9:59 am

gramma - the end of it sounds like songwriter mr. simon

9:59 am

not far but close (plural)

9:59 am

an 6 - to heat glass or metal slowly to toughen it. Sounds like what you can do when if you pray.

10:00 am

TYVM, Hurshy. Does anybody need a clue?

10:00 am

10:00 am

first pe4?

10:01 am

Thanks bbnaz and ARB also....8)

10:02 am

Gramma do yo live anywhere near that twisty weather of the past week?

10:04 am

Bbnaz, no fortunately I don't. Your 1st pe4 is tough for me. I don't know what it means. All I can tell you is go west young man, go west, and then straight down.

10:06 am

...P e * *

10:08 am

unbelievable. that was a word on saturday and i gave a clue for it.....compared it to the fez hat....or was that an "fe" word? anyway, thanks very very much!

10:08 am

Your welcome. BBL

10:29 am

Does anyone have a clue for the "sa" 5,12?

10:42 am

Hi everybody! I am hoping to get all of the words today!

10:45 am

excellent, stidmatt, admirable ambition.

hi stidmatt! hurshy - i could use a clue for the ph 7 - unless it's a fishworthy word in which case i will have patience and keep looking!

10:50 am

ph7 is an adj based off ph5

10:55 am

hey, does the grid go grey or something like the ironsudoku does when you've finished?

10:55 am

no it just stays as it is now

10:57 am

but it makes me want to find more words, even though I know there are no more...I think. 114 was the number today wasn't it?

10:57 am

bandm, if you have 114 words, you're done

10:58 am

sometimes people will give you fireworks. like this: *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* ~BANDM*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* con grats!

hi bex!

hi leslie ann! - GTG - lunch! BBL

ty hursh for ph 7 clue! : )

11:02 am

11:03 am

lol! Thanks LeslieAnn. I guess now I've done babbler and IronSudoku I should probably head to bed

11:03 am

11:04 am

11:04 am

it's a free page

11:05 am

Wow, bandm, you must be somewhere like Asia or Australia!

11:05 am

11:06 am

Im back!!!! Welcome sjh and any other new players

11:06 am

hey caitlyn

11:07 am

Hi caitlyn!

11:09 am

This grid today looks easy when you start but seems to get harder!!

11:09 am

yup, Australia. and it's just after 2am. oops. Have school tomorrow too :/

11:09 am

i just figured that out caitlyn!

11:11 am

Though, this grid for me started out harder then yesterday's and the day before's. They were easier for me to start out.

11:12 am

I guess bandm has school 'cause it is fall down there.

11:13 am

why don't you have school matt? spring break?

11:13 am

I hadnt thought about that ..can someone pass the fish please!!!!

11:14 am

That's right Leslieann. Spring Break! Boo-Yeah!

11:15 am

i wish i had spring break.

11:16 am

11:17 am

Yeah, but if you work you have holidays and vacations that you can use too. Cool bex!

11:17 am

ok someone please help me out with the aa word haha

11:17 am

aaargh. ep4/6 is driving me mad

11:18 am

stidmat how old are u?

11:18 am

The aa word is the plural of what people say when something "sweet" happens.

11:18 am

axe, sounds like it has an f in it but doesn't.

11:18 am

I'm 13 years old.

11:18 am

such a simple answer.. i was expecting it to be some ridiculous word that i've never heard of before.

11:19 am

got it, thanks! i think that was the only combo i didn't try! grrrr.... ;-)

11:19 am

Yes, it's autumn down here...can't tell it by the weather half the time! I don't get a proper break til end of June, as I teach as well as study and school and uni breaks are different over Easter this year :(

11:20 am

Good day, all , can I get a clue for the sa 6/24, please?

11:22 am

Hi chic sa6/24 sa+double cons +opposite of down

11:26 am

thanx, caitlyn!

11:27 am

Thanks caitlyn!

11:27 am

YW chic

11:28 am

It went so quiet on the log i was getting worried!!

11:28 am

how long does it usually take you guys to finish these? or how much time do you spend on them?

11:30 am

sjh it depends on the grid size and how much time i can spare

11:30 am

depends on how many words... anywhere from 45 minutes on the easy ones to hours and hours on the big ones!

11:30 am

the grid size changes?

11:31 am

she means different number of words every day

11:31 am

Daily..it has been known to have a 400 +

11:33 am

OOOps am i confusing everyone ??Sorry

11:34 am

ugh, i don't think i like this grid

11:35 am

I'm finished already!!! I'll stay if anyone needs a clue for a few; I get to have a day out with my friend!!

11:36 am

Im finished also !!!

11:37 am

good job, chic, caitlyn!

11:37 am

Good job chic and caitlyn!

11:38 am

11:39 am

LOL chic

11:41 am

11:43 am

WAT IT DO

11:43 am

clue please for the na 5/10 that follows the diminutive for grandma? Thanks!

11:43 am

Hi Mikey

11:45 am

what is a galoot?

11:45 am

ch it rhymes with what you would catch an animal with +s

11:46 am

thanks caitlyn, I swear I tried that, but probably without the 's'

11:46 am

it's just... a galoot! i think in this case he means his dad? but it's just a saying... 'you big galoot'... affectionate, perhaps slightly teasing term

11:47 am

I tried it about 5 times without the s

hi, Caitlyn

11:47 am

hmmm, never heard that one before. i'm such a square.

11:47 am

Hi Mikey!

11:47 am

i am a dodecahedron

11:47 am

Does anyone please have a clue for 'fe' 4,8?

11:49 am

you have ten sides??

11:49 am

there's 2 fe 4/8's

11:49 am

f plus what people say when they're deaf and someone asks them a question (plural)

11:49 am

The other is a bit like the French word for fire.

11:50 am

12

11:50 am

Thanks ... sounds almost like the fez hat.

11:51 am

wow, that must suck when you fall down the stairs

11:51 am

Hello everybody!

11:52 am

howdy smith

11:52 am

Hi smithchick lol leslieann

11:52 am

i don't see how the number of one's sides is relevant to how much it hurts to fall down stairs...

11:52 am

'Sup Smith?

11:53 am

you never know where you're gonna land

11:53 am

Hey, stidmatt...why aren't you in school (says the maternal me)?

11:53 am

does anyone?

11:53 am

Cause you have that many more sides to suffer pain in, hurshy...DUH!!!

11:54 am

well, i'm pretty sure i'm always going to land on my face ;)

11:54 am

(except cats of course)

11:54 am

Spring Break.

11:54 am

Would you rather two sides hurt or ten?

11:54 am

Oh, okay stidmatt...you're off the hook. Ours was three weeks ago.

11:54 am

but if the sum total of the pain is the same, leslie might just have more on each of her 4 sides than i have on each of my 12

11:54 am

praes u lurking

11:55 am

this existential convo is making my head hurt ;)

11:55 am

I always land on my butt. It's something to do with the way that I am weighted, I'm almost positive. I used to just wobble like a weeble.

11:55 am

lol smith

11:56 am

Hmmm...I see what you are saying, hurshy...you're pain would be diluted across the many sides, as opposed to concentrated on just four.

11:56 am

Yes. LOL

11:56 am

see... so it IS more painful to be a square... you hurt even without falling down any stairs. smith - i love weebles!

11:57 am

Oops, I mean your pain...not you're pain. I don't know if you are pain to anybody or not, but you aren't to me, hursh.

11:57 am

exactly smith... glad you got my drift :)

11:57 am

thank you smith :)

11:57 am

*sigh* and all this time i thought it was hip to be square

11:57 am

stidmama will be on soon. I just heard her chair from the other room scrape on the floor. We'll have another player on soon!

11:58 am

Well, you know, Weebles wobble but they don't fall down. It's hard to beat that.

11:58 am

Hi all!!! If you were a weeble you wouldn't fall down the stairs, cause....Weebles wobble but they don't fall down

11:58 am

it may be hip - or it may cause you to break a hip

11:58 am

The dreaded chair scrape... My children do not like to hear it because it usually precedes an angry mother having to interrupt her babbling to thump some skulls.

11:59 am

LOL, great minds, Schroeder!

11:59 am

lol schroeder -- I remember that commerical

11:59 am

Hi schroeder

11:59 am

Square hips? Who has square hips? Mine are decidedly round.

12:00 pm

okay, I'm knocking my brain out on the un 5/14 -- I think I've tried every combination (obviously not though) ... clue please?

12:01 pm

ar7?

12:01 pm

let the animals out of their enclosure, ch1212

12:01 pm

good morning everyone!

12:01 pm

Hi boreetos!

12:02 pm

Hi Boreetos!!!!

good evening, boreetos! :-)

12:02 pm

arrgggghhhhh! thanks, hurshy, knew it would be some simple word like that.

12:02 pm

Ummm...Weebles...we're talking about weebles...not anybody's really round hips.

12:02 pm

Leslie either a gun store or an English football team

12:02 pm

I'm back. did a little laundry and went to the grocery.

12:02 pm

Greetings, everyone!!!!! And hi, boreetos......

12:02 pm

ROFL, MIkey! So you've decided you like the babble universe?

12:03 pm

12:03 pm

Hi faerie and movieman!!

12:03 pm

hi movieman - I see you and caitlyn are dressed alike today :)

12:03 pm

12:03 pm

Hi Jera!

12:03 pm

12:03 pm

Love your icon Jera :)

12:04 pm

{{{smithchick}}}

12:04 pm

12:04 pm

Thanks, stidmatt

12:04 pm

Your welcome.

ja; it's kinda fun, smithchick! ;-)

12:05 pm

leslie, you don't have to know a lot about guns - it's just a cache of weapons

12:05 pm

{{Smith}}

12:05 pm

Smithy - no, I don't lurk.... I just don't have anything to talk about right now.....

12:05 pm

Yep, we're a wild and crazy bunch here in Babbleland!

12:05 pm

oh i see... thanks

12:06 pm

Movieman...Did you just say that you don't lurk? Really? Hmm....

12:06 pm

leslie ar4/4 +half of yourse5/10 + everyone omit last l

12:06 pm

Well, there's the weeble discussion you could weigh in on, movie...

12:07 pm

lots of bum words today

12:08 pm

I never had a weeble

12:08 pm

Is that a clue or a complaint, Leslie?

12:09 pm

Don't feel bad cait, I didn't either :)

12:09 pm

more of a general comment. you can use it as a clue, though :)

12:09 pm

caitlyn, you poor thing! Your parental people should have been turned over to DHS!

12:09 pm

Well, whatever the equivalent is in Wales.

12:10 pm

smith do you think its to late?

12:10 pm

Of course, I was one of six girls, so my weebles were all hand-me-downs, but I didn't mind.

12:10 pm

OK everyone I am back, in case you were going to talk about me. He, He (which really means good bye in Finnish) I decided to play this grid after all. About 25 words to go. Got most of them from your clues since this a.m.

12:10 pm

I don't really know much about weebles, smithy..... I suppose I could start a discussion about Babbler's top five favourite movies..... Mine being: (in no particular order) 1. Sin City 2. 2001: A Space Odyssey 3. An American Werewolf in London 4. Pulp Fiction 5. The Terminator

12:10 pm

This is a hard one and I can only find 45 words

12:11 pm

Any clues on the un words?

12:11 pm

It's never too late, caitlyn. I bought my kids weebles just so they wouldn't be traumatized as adults as you and Schroeder are now. Hi, Inge!!

12:12 pm

interesting and wonderful films. The only one I would disagree would be 2001. Though it is an amazing movie, I enjoy it as more of a novelty, and I think of my favorite movies as those that I can watch more often and not get tired of.

12:12 pm

ooh fun, here are mine: bringing up baby clueless princess bride star trek VI cold comfort farm

12:12 pm

Hey! Movieman, where does Star Wars (any of them) fit on that list? Or Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or James Bond.

12:12 pm

I've only seen three of those. Never seen Sin City or Pulp Fiction...Despite my love for John Travolta.

12:12 pm

I would instead put Fight Club on that list, perhaps.

12:12 pm

Could I please have a clue for the su/6? I feel like I've monkeyed every possibility but obviously I haven't...

12:13 pm

alt spelling of prev su5

12:13 pm

hi all! {{{hugs}}} is stidmatt behaving himself?

12:14 pm

Stidmatt - OK, I may be forced to substitute American Werewolf for the LOTR trilogy......

12:14 pm

yes very nicely stidmama

12:14 pm

Hi stidmama

12:14 pm

Help please I need one more word a Pe5/12 I just can't see it been trying for ages

12:14 pm

Mine is: Star Wars Lord of the Rings Harry Potter and James Bond

12:14 pm

hi stidmama, yes it seems so.

12:14 pm

ooooh mine would be: The Two Towers Return of the Sith Atlantis (the Luc Besson one, not the Disney one!) Nagoyaqatsi and ... um ... maybe Bladerunner

12:14 pm

i always want owie to be a word

12:14 pm

there are 2 pe 5/12 and they are the same except for 1 letter

12:14 pm

stidmama, I did change the css setting for the resource page; now it works much better in IE

12:15 pm

if you have one already, that should help- the last letters are different

12:15 pm

Atlante! That is soooooooo cool! We both have movies in the same series in our favorite movie list! (Top: Return of the Jedi)

12:15 pm

Luc Besson reminds me of another of my favorites: The Fifth Element.

12:16 pm

actually there are at least 3 - the other one sounds like yummy fruit filled desserts

12:16 pm

Luc Besson reminds me of another of MY favourites: Leon (aka The Professional)......

*yawns*

12:16 pm

Top 5 Fave flicks, no order LotR Trilogy (I consider it 1 big movie) Godfather Trilogy (same as LotR) Highlander (original) Batman Begins Life As a House/Life Is Beautiful (toss up for different reasons)

12:17 pm

Are you tired Mickey?

12:17 pm

I love Luc Besson's films - all his are completely wonderful. And I forgot Spirted Away. Or Kiki's Delivery Service. Any Miyazaki film really

12:17 pm

Oh and Hi btw

rather, Caitlyn, ja :-/

12:17 pm

hullo capone

12:17 pm

I've never really given thought to my favorites but they'd probably be chick flicks.

12:18 pm

Porko Rosso! Such a fun movie- and he takes a break from his man vs nature theme

12:18 pm

Sorry Mikey

12:18 pm

Thanks for your clue, hurshy--I kept trying the shoehorn one of those "p"s into it...

12:18 pm

{{{Capone}}} SBB

12:18 pm

Although I agree that Batman Begins is a pretty good movie, I just couldn't get into it in the same way as the first Batman, or Batman Forever......

12:18 pm

hello MikeyinBerlin. How's Germany?

12:18 pm

i thought batman begins was better than the others... except for katie holmes. she was awful.

fine, boreetos; and i see you're a 'Taffy', Caitlyn? :-)

12:19 pm

Begins had a better "story" than The first Burton or Forever...and the bad guys DIDN'T die! (Ras Al Ghul is immortal)

12:19 pm

Hi Faerie.

12:20 pm

{{{CAPONE}}} hi.....

12:20 pm

capone, I agree with you on the LotR trilogy being one big movie. It was filmed that way and it shold be viewed and thought of that way.

12:20 pm

Capone are you feeling any better?

12:20 pm

Mikey im not really a taffy just married to one!!

oh; i see, Cailtlyn.....good thing you're not taffy then, or else you might stick! ;-)

12:21 pm

I have to get back to work, I'll be back at lunch! Movies rule! just saw "Slither" this past weekend. Awesome, hilarious, and quite a bit twisted.

12:21 pm

12:22 pm

Hi tiger!

12:23 pm

Hi stidmatt

12:23 pm

LOL Mikey

12:24 pm

Bye boreetos!!

12:24 pm

Of course, I could also mention other movies like The Fly, Shaun of the Dead, GoodFellas, Clerks, The Others (Nicole Kidman should have been Oscar-nominated for this, rather than Moulin Rouge), Bubba Ho-Tep (instant cult classic), Ong-Bak, (the action scenes are amazing), and Hellboy (Ron Perlman has never been better).....

12:25 pm

dang telephone... I'm missing all kinds of conversation. I didn't get to say goodbye to boreetos!

12:25 pm

Oh, I thought of a movie I loved...The Shawshank Redemption.

12:26 pm

No Faerie. But I'll survive.

well, Caitlyn; taffy getting stuck to me would be a nightmare! :-/

12:26 pm

See ya later, boreetos.....

12:26 pm

Angelsong -- that's good to hear. Glad it worked, wish I'd thought of it sooner! I really can't pick favorite movies, there are so many good ones! I would start my list with The African Queen, LOTR (the whole series), Harry Potter 1 and 4 (though the books are better), and the star wars saga of course!

12:26 pm

later Boreetos!

12:26 pm

Bye borreetos!

12:27 pm

Hey! Mom! Love your picture that you are using today.

12:27 pm

12:28 pm

12:29 pm

Did a good job.

12:29 pm

okay, i need to focus. 59 words left, and so far without a list! i'll lurk, but won't really be paying attention...

12:29 pm

Im going now catch you all tomorrow happy babbling all (A night to remember is a great film)

12:29 pm

bye caitlyn!

12:29 pm

Rolin, someone who know how bad the sun is for them would be su6/24

12:29 pm

Although some people didn't like GF 3, it should still be held into the same light as 1 and 2. After reluctantly taking control of the family business and pretty much losing touch with everything he holds dear, his ultimate search for redemption turns around an bites him in the ass for the sins of his past. Karma, baby...don't mess with it! I really wish they would re-edit them in chronological order (and leave in the good stuff! unlike the USA network).

12:29 pm

Catilyn - see ya later.

12:30 pm

See ya, caitlyn.....

12:30 pm

Oh no Faerie, the ankle is kosher. Down about other stuff now. Don't really feel like "babbling" about it.

12:30 pm

Bye caitlyn!!

12:31 pm

Bye, caitlyn! Go buy some weebles!

12:31 pm

Bye caitlin!

12:32 pm

Capone - gottcha. no problem. glad your ankles are feeling bettr.

12:32 pm

Speaking of LotR (well at least Tolkien)...I see Elwe in the grid! Too bad it doesnt count.

12:33 pm

BRB, Got to go get some Lime Tostitos and diet Dr. Pepper to munch on.

12:34 pm

Capone - I think you'll find that Coppola did re-edit the Godfather trilogy into chronological order..... A straight-to-video release came out some years back (in 1992 I believe).....

12:34 pm

Could I have a clue on the pe 5,12's? :|

12:34 pm

VHS? Wots dat?

12:34 pm

Yeah! Gees! They don't even have chapters!

12:35 pm

I know you're joking, capone..... It's also available on DVD.....

12:35 pm

stidmat - pe - type of pasta

12:35 pm

I think Smith is preggo "Lime Tostitos and diet Dr Pepper?"

12:35 pm

Good.

12:35 pm

j/k Movieman. I dread looking at my VHS library that has been collecting dust in recent years. Last DVD count I was at around 400 and climbing.

12:35 pm

one word to go..and i CANT see it... su6

12:35 pm

Thanks lynxxx

12:36 pm

I'm back and not again in this lifetime! Been there done that four times. Filled my quota!

12:36 pm

I bought GF on DVD when it came out, may have to go back and look for the chronological cut.

12:36 pm

That su6 just adds a silent consonant at the end of the su5 preceding it.

12:36 pm

LOL Smith

12:37 pm

If there is only one, that is (su6).

12:37 pm

BLESS YOU

12:37 pm

smithchick...

12:38 pm

Part of the overpopulation problem can be blamed on me.

12:38 pm

YW, Rolin!

12:38 pm

lol

12:38 pm

LOL smithchick!

12:39 pm

My DVD collection at present numbers around 400 as well (but that's not counting the box sets, and TV series)......

12:39 pm

You really are a movieman.

12:40 pm

Hey, I have a bunch of Mary-Kate and Ashley movies...

12:41 pm

I know, stidmatt, I even bought the box sets of every season of Friends, Buffy, Angel AND the X-Files....

12:43 pm

Gotta go. My sister just called and I have to go meet her. See ya later!

12:43 pm

See ya, smithy....

12:43 pm

Bye smithchick!

12:44 pm

By Smith

12:44 pm

brb phone.

12:45 pm

MY brother just came into my room and was acting really weird.

12:46 pm

What was he up to, stidmatt.....

12:48 pm

Putting a bottom egg piece on his pink fuzzy ball and playing with it by saying "Swing from the ropes and die if you do."

12:49 pm

How old is your brother, stidmatt? I'm just wondering if he's need of professional help.....

12:49 pm

He just fell from my ladder and said it was fun.

12:50 pm

He is eleven years old. Gotta go get a friend and bring him over to my house, BYE!

12:50 pm

See ya, stidmatt.......

12:53 pm

Faerikea, are you still here? I have but 5 words to go. What do you say???

12:55 pm

Anyone care to assist me with the f's..... I can't see a single one.....

12:57 pm

Hullo there, Movieman. Look for the creatures that cluck. "Fair is **** and **** is fair"

12:57 pm

Think barnyard bird...

12:58 pm

pu 6 and 7?

12:58 pm

*whispers to hetty* That's spelled with a u...

12:58 pm

fe 4/8: Think of family fe** (fight) and change last letter to s

12:59 pm

pu 6 and 7 have to do with witty homonyms. *** my word

12:59 pm

pu6 and 7 - sing and pl of people who say things like "It was raining cats and dogs, and I stepped in a poodle!"

12:59 pm

ack i am one of those! thanks folks.

1:00 pm

Well, I gotta scoot to the library for an activity... later all... keep the grid warm for me!

1:00 pm

Hi Jera, I know that--thought we could clue our friends with "sounds like"

1:02 pm

ph 7 and i'm done with p's...

1:08 pm

Hi to everyone....this is my first time on this site. I am from new york

1:10 pm

hi ladyafrica

1:10 pm

Anyone care to help me with the 7's.... I have the pu7 (the funny people), and the sh7 (the people who ignore others).....

1:10 pm

ar 7, your cache of guns

1:11 pm

That should be the sh7 (the PERSON who ignores others).....

1:11 pm

Hey, everyone. I'm back at it and I'm still stuck on what is probably a smack in my face word. The final "an" 4,5 has me stymied.

1:11 pm

also a pe 7 that rhymes with the pu7

1:11 pm

it is another bum word merk!

1:12 pm

leslieanne - people who write with ....

1:12 pm

Should have got the ar7, what with being a football fan and all..... That's soccer, not American football......

1:13 pm

I forgot to try that vowel curving to the left. Thanks.

1:16 pm

all right, my final 18 will have to wait until tonight. have a good day, folks.

1:18 pm

Back again with these 'a' words. What about an "al" 4,6 word.

1:19 pm

Oh duh, the scum in the pond word.

1:19 pm

thanks movieman got it straight away just from your comment!

1:20 pm

anybody have pe/4 clues?

1:21 pm

pe4/6 - add masculine possessive minus the vowel

1:21 pm

yw, katie..... Gunners scum..... Can't stand that team..... Too many bloody foreigners.....

1:22 pm

Got that one... it's the other 4/6 I'm missing.

1:23 pm

I am stunned at how many movies movieman owns. How wondereful. And movieman, I loooove the tv series Charmed. It often didn't make a lot of sense and it certainly was not profound, but I looooved it. Do you have that one too?

1:23 pm

pe4/6 - looks like a clown's name or a game you'd play with small children. Ends in a vowel

1:23 pm

'Fraid not, mab..... Never really took much notice of it as it happens....

1:24 pm

does anyone know if you can read a profile of a person whos not online?

1:24 pm

Ah, the queen is here. Hi mab! Hi everyone! I'm a reluctant charmed fan

1:25 pm

rolin - if you go to the players ranking page, you can click on anyone's profile.

1:25 pm

cheers haz

1:25 pm

Hi, All! the other pe 4/6 is pe + an Italian river

1:26 pm

Oh. Well. I thought it was sort of similar to Angel, except less dark, but I only saw Angel perhaps twice. Never mind.

1:27 pm

OK I finished. Who needs a clue?

1:27 pm

I hope munner is playing today. This somehow seems her kind of puzzle.

1:27 pm

YAY inge!

1:28 pm

okay, just got below 50 words left, heading for the lists... BRB

1:28 pm

Hi, stidmama, at 7 a.m. I didnt want to play, and here I am with a finsihed grid. I AM addicted.

1:28 pm

hi folks...any clues for my last pe/5 please? got two that are pasta variants but can't see the other for love nor money!

1:29 pm

Howsabout a discussion about Babbler's favourite movie directors? Mine being Steven Spielberg, Sam Raimi, Stanley Kubrick, and Peter Jackson....

1:29 pm

pe 5: drop last letter from pe 6,

1:30 pm

Robert Altman. One of the best!

1:30 pm

Movie, I just saw a clockwork orange for the first time recently. What about Brian de Palma?

1:31 pm

I've managed to find 50 words this session..... Compared to 23 during my first session...

1:31 pm

OK that pe 5 was my last one too. pe + 3rd person sing. of to be + secnodn vowel

1:31 pm

pe 5 is a dumb word with 3 vow and s cons - it is the same as a very elegant po word that you already have. you just have to change a letter

1:32 pm

De Palma's not bad, I just haven't seen enough of his films.... I've only seen Scarface, Carrie, and the Untouchables....

1:33 pm

Boy that pe 5 is related to the po 5, almost same meaning!

1:35 pm

can anyone give a hint for the fe 4 - and not the one that rhymes with the environment friendly toyota

1:35 pm

body double dressed to kill and blow out are three of de Palma's early works and very good.

1:35 pm

ty bluephlox...dumb word indeed, but one to remember :-)

hey everyone - i just came on - is anyone having problems with the site today?

1:36 pm

Hi helen -- just logged on as well -- impossibly slow!

1:37 pm

Hi Helen. I just started, too but haven't noticed any.

1:37 pm

you're welcome:)

1:37 pm

Yes helen, it just accepted a word twice....

1:38 pm

thanx inge & bluephlox...a tricky one indeed :-)

1:38 pm

Help needed please for the fe's have got the fe4/8 family quarrel - different consonent and that's it!!

1:38 pm

Hello all. It seems to be vvvvveeeeerrrrryyyyy ssllooww today.

1:38 pm

Yes, it tells me that it can't always connect. It has refused words, but accepted them the next time I tried it.

1:38 pm

refreshed and all is ok. Seems a little slow today, too.

oh man - i just had a major heart attack- nan, mine was slow too, so i hit the refresh & everything came back EXCEPT MY LIST OF WORDS !!!! i started late last nite and had 11 to go - but thankfully, i refreshed again and ta-dah here are my words - cancel 911

1:38 pm

BTW - what's today's theme?

1:38 pm

Hi again!

that was not pretty - to see 'no words entered' yikes! has that ever happened to anyone, where all the words were irretrievable?

1:41 pm

Hi all - I'm back and looking for the ne 6/30 please.

1:42 pm

I'm so happy that I have this! ne 6 -- think old movies, guy peddling papers--add two vowels to ne 4

1:42 pm

Hey, faerie...I just got back too!

1:42 pm

ecome back faerie..... ne6/30=word given to first-timers to things, e.g. Babble.....

1:43 pm

Katieq-oh my gosh. thank you. been looking for that forever it seems. Hey Smith..

1:43 pm

That's happened to me before...It was very worrisome.

1:43 pm

Welcome back faerie..... ne6/30=word given to first-timers to things, e.g. Babble.....

1:43 pm

{{{Movieman}}} Hi....thanks got it.

1:44 pm

I'll probably slap myself upside the head for needing help on these, but does anyone have the UN5&6? Thanks.

1:45 pm

Minski - un5=to release an animal from its cage.... un6=not sensible.....

1:45 pm

un6 = un + wi/4 un5 is driving me crazy

1:45 pm

erase something you wrote with ink(un5). without sense(un6)

1:46 pm

Oooh, that was a good clue on the un5, movieman! Makes a lot more sense...

1:46 pm

Mari, you managed to change your flag :)

1:46 pm

Minski - time to get the ole fish ready.....

1:46 pm

Oh--TY--(hitting myself in the head) They always seems so obvious once someone gives a clue

1:46 pm

THanks movieman and kateq. Got them.

1:46 pm

help with fe 4? and not the family problem one that has gotten lots of hints

1:47 pm

yep. pass the flounder over here pelase.

1:47 pm

yw, Minski.....

1:47 pm

KatieW - can sleep easy now!!

1:49 pm

Good job I'm such a nice daughter - many another would have grassed you up!!

1:52 pm

Well done Merk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1:52 pm

Great job Merk!

1:52 pm

Oh, and congrats merk!!!!!!

1:52 pm

YAY Merk! mari did you finish?

1:52 pm

Loathe a's...always!

1:53 pm

Hey, stidmatt's back. Did your brother stop acting weird? Of course you know that is his job as the little brother.

smith - i see you answered my question, sorry, i missed it on first read-through. i was just wondering if that was a possibility, am very sad to see that it is :( -when that happened to you, did you do it again or quit out of frustration?

1:54 pm

Stidmama - no babysitting grandchildren so it's very spasmodic tonight

1:54 pm

Before you left, stidmatt, I was gonna say that if your brother was at least in his mid teens, then he might require help..... But seeing as he's 11, he's just probably holding on to what remains of his childhood.....

1:54 pm

oh -- i'm just babysitting (teensitting?) my own... but still pretty sporadic... :-)

1:55 pm

Well, helen...since I am a bonified addict, I did it again.

1:56 pm

any hints for the ep's? :)

lol smith !!! - good for you !!!

1:56 pm

Leaving now - last bedtime story of the night God willing!!

1:56 pm

btw, my icon is a forest fire, taken about 20 miles from my home in August 2000. There are two elk standing in the river, with the mountain behind in flame. It's turned into a rather famous phot. fyi.

1:56 pm

Nite Mari sweet dreams hon.

1:57 pm

good night mari!

1:57 pm

Have fun - you are the best reader of stories in the world, lets hope they enjoy.

2:04 pm

helen -- that was an awesome clue -- still took me a while, but that's 'cause I haven't had any chocolate yet...

su 7/48 = the big, round, hot, yellow thing in our sky + adjective to describe king solomon

2:05 pm

thanks mab for the compliment. I'm trying to use the paint program that came with Windows... it's basic but I'm starting to get the hang of it!

2:05 pm

TY, Helen...that was my last h and it's been eluding me all day!

2:06 pm

thnx smithchick, but not getting the tweety pie lisp thing for su7...a little dimmer today!

2:06 pm

2:06 pm

what's the theme for today?

thx stid - ahh chocolate, i'm not a sweets-fan but in the last year or so i'm eating chocolate by the truckload! thanks for mentioning it - must go find some now - (thinking it's something hormonal)

2:06 pm

We were talking about movies earlier, so, let's talk about favorite TV shows! Doctor Who is the best by far.

2:07 pm

SU7 = SU3+Wi4

2:07 pm

Minski - su6/24=su5+h......

2:07 pm

Minski - harsh weather or something like that.

2:07 pm

thanks movieman. I think I tried every combination of that word but that one.

2:08 pm

Stidmatt, completely addicted to House, Mari got me into it and now plan the week around it.

2:09 pm

yey got it...my 3rd grid completed...thanx to you all for clues/chat

2:09 pm

My favourite TV shows? The Simpsons, Futurama, Red Dwarf. X-Files..... As you can see, I'm a bit of a Sci-Fi nut......

2:09 pm

YAY helzchux!

argh - these last 5 are worse than having a tooth pulled while sitting in a traffic jam listening to a car alarm going off

2:09 pm

Congrats, helz!!! ~*~*~*~*~*~*FIREWORKS *~*~*~*~*~*~

2:12 pm

AWESOME MOVIE!

2:12 pm

smithie, yes forever no see. work is being mean to me. should only be another month of the peak, then i'll be able to give babble the attention it so richly deserves!

2:13 pm

Yep, trying to make them as collectable as possible!!!!!

2:13 pm

great icons, people!!!

2:14 pm

WOW smithchick...never had fireworks before (well, not in the babble sense) i'm touched :-D

2:14 pm

Well you know it is all about priorities, smaller... We musn't lose sight of what's important. You'll just have to tell your boss that you quit!

2:14 pm

Movieman, you are a true fan, although I can quote I haven't got the collection you have. I was once on a plane when the pilot announced himself as Dave Lister, only my ex partner and myself thought it was funny.

2:15 pm

You are only my second person to give them too, helz!

2:15 pm

smithie, GREAT IDEA!!! wow there sure are a lot of butt words today

2:16 pm

I've heard that there are. I believe it was Leslie that said that. Only she was more polite and said bum.

2:16 pm

Katie - great story!!!!! Anyone care to assist me with the middle row L's? I have the le4/4 and the le5/18 (the boy's name)....

2:17 pm

then i shall accept the honour graciously, thankyou :D :D :D

2:17 pm

Those are the two I have too, movieman...Anxiously awaiting amazing clues...

2:18 pm

Any clues on the sh words? I have been going back and forth a lot.

2:18 pm

lw4 and lw5, vaguely reminiscent of German for two

2:19 pm

Thanx, vicuna..... You've helped both me AND smithy....

sh words not tricky

sh 5/12 = s + another word for rabbit

2:19 pm

Okay.

2:20 pm

I've just got the one your mother always tells you you'd better do with your brother (sh5) and the think you wish you could do to your brother to avoid him(sh4) and the one you would be if you were doing the sh4 (sh7)

2:20 pm

5:44 pm

the drama was from some babblers who had a misunderstanding. i am pretty sure that they worked it out but it was a touch tense at times this a.m.

6:20 pm

Mikey - how many word do you have so far?

6:21 pm

Miss- un + wi 4/8

6:21 pm

i think lickety is mr p's husband.

lol, stidmama and faeriekae; glad i'm not *that* frightening, then! :-P

6:22 pm

Miss- if you don't have the wi 4/8 then wi + crooked letter + 2nd vowel

6:22 pm

at least that is what she said early am today. apparently someone criticised lickety's list and she wanted people to email him words of support if they like the list.

6:22 pm

mikey, don't believe them, you scare the crap outta me.

6:23 pm

i thought that this morning she referred to him as her son..........and that his sleepy arse was on the couch. can't remember the time but it was very early arizona time like between 1a and 3a

i only have 59 words thus far, faeriekae....and have to get to bed here (again) soon! :-P

6:23 pm

faeriekae, i adore you. thanks. and now i feel so dim witted.

6:24 pm

hey eb! : )

6:30 pm

hi bbnaz...we had some of your AZ weather (sorta)...sunny & 65 today!! (not bad for NY...)

6:31 pm

could someone point me in the direction of the su 7? a clue earlier was someone who sits in the shade, but I'm not seeing it....

6:32 pm

Hi EB!!!! Sheryl!!!!! Temple!!!!!!

add a s to the start of your un 6/33

HI Mama - well...you little bear covered 3 themes - umbrella, weather & boots!!

6:33 pm

a smart person is consider very .... does that help mama?

6:33 pm

Ne 6/30 usually ends in a y, I believe; means full of what's been going on as a letter. Can we trade for the 2nd an6/18?

6:33 pm

heck Sheryl's made far more sense than mine

6:34 pm

the playwrite Mr Simon's first name...... for you GRANT

6:35 pm

anyone else before I take a nap prior to the concert tonight? after the very late night I need some rest!

6:35 pm

Not sure I follow

an + sounds like what you do when you propose

bbnaz - what concert???

6:35 pm

bbnaz, i went back to the chat i heard just to make sure i was not hallucinating (i've had a few cocktails this evening and i don't usually drink) here is what she said: sorry! will get over it no doubt and lickety is too sweet to let this one go! He is the nicest person in the world... and that is coming from his WIFE of ten years!! he sounds like a great guy. here is what started the conversation: OK here it goes... Lickety is very good and proud of babble!! and he takes nothing from it... not ever!

ty for the clue grant one more to go the se 4/4 the one before the 4/8 pls

hey mama!

6:37 pm

Mozart's Requiem. Was supposed to sing in it but have respiratory issues so will be content (NOT) to sit in attendance.

6:38 pm

Thanks clif! I had had a few frosties myself before beginning last night so that is why I was having such a difficult time remembering. MrPresident is not committing incest with her son, rather she is hopefully enjoying cohabital bliss with her hubby!

6:38 pm

Sheryl, que se**nse**

bbnaz - ah...so disappointing when you want to sing & can't!!! it's nice that you'll be there to cheer on your friends!! enjoy the concert!!

6:39 pm

Let me try again: que se** se**

6:39 pm

i just can't understand why anyone would give lickety flak! when bj's list didn't show up one day i started using likety's. i like being able to keep track of things using the boxes.

6:39 pm

its doris day!

Cliff Just sent an email of support to lickety

well...hubby is calling to figure out what's for dinner (can we say 'takeout??')... catch you later if I decide to jump into the grid after dinner!! Bye!!! (((((((( HUGS))))))))))

6:41 pm

i am a visual puzzler. when i do crosswords i have to cross out the clue as i answer them so bj's list was quite helpful to me (I am no Hurshy). I found Lickety's list really easy to use but didn't print it out like I do bj's so it will be interesting when it is a bigger grid....

sry grant was off emailing but i have that one

6:41 pm

enjoy EB. if not later than on the flip!

6:42 pm

EB -- my bear is a multi-tasker!!!! Anything on the su 7 anyone?

6:42 pm

the part of your head that sound goes through is one of them. se**

6:45 pm

6:51 pm

HI Mikey

LOL mikey! grrr - ready to go when i realized i need one more word

6:53 pm

I thought 114 words would be a piece of cake this morning, but I just cannot get into it, I'm only half way through, and am going to call it a day (or night).

6:53 pm

g'nite bbnaz!!! cliffopa - I have seen maybe 4 or 5 big ones since I started. Really brutal!

6:53 pm

Hallo Mikey, still no German flag!

hi, Shorty :-)

6:53 pm

Hi there ExWren!!! I am having problems making headway myself... will give it a little more time.

yo shorty! and good night for real dear babblers! see you tomorrow! owl out!

nein, Inge; aber was kann ich machen? :-/ *shrugs*

6:54 pm

uh sure buddy

6:55 pm

I might stay on and add a few more, but I certainly won't finish this one

6:55 pm

Mikey - go into your profile - you can pick your country in there in order to get your Deutschland flag!

6:55 pm

Press the update profile button, that may make a difference.

6:55 pm

nite owl.

6:57 pm

Hi everybody! I've got 2 words to go...will probably need the fish. other na 4/4 (got the child's taunt/nickname for granny) and su 6/24- is it a compound like su 7/48?

MAMABEAR.....i've *done* that, more than once, to try and get a flag, but it doesn't work for Deutschland, i'm afraid :-(

6:57 pm

or you can send a message to Dr. God. the link is to the right of this page under the firefox ad

and i *did* press that button after selecting it, Inge

6:58 pm

su 6/24 not related to the 7

ja, Inge; i've also done that.....emailed Dr God, and he didn't seem to know either :-/

6:59 pm

if you use reverse dictionary, def for su 6/24 is muhammad's way of life viewed as a model for muslims.

6:59 pm

If there ae flags for Hongkong, Holland and Switzerland, why not Deutschland???

morning/evening all!!

7:01 pm

If anyone needs a clue speak up. I lost track of who asked for what.

ich habe keine Anhung, Inge! :-/

7:02 pm

Hi MrPres... and cliffopa, isn't the mohammed one su 5/12?

7:02 pm

hi mr p. hope lickety got some supportive email today.

7:02 pm

inge, thanx... su 6/24 and na 4/4 (not the child's taunt)

7:02 pm

Ich glaube, der Liebe Gott naeht noch eine deutsche Fahne

7:03 pm

weegee - just add one more letter. 8th in line in the alphabet.

7:03 pm

weegee - take you rsu5/12 and add a constanant

ja, Inge; ich denke du bist ganz richtig :-/

7:04 pm

weegee for the other na4 -- take the one you have an reverse the last two letters.

7:04 pm

cliffopa... got it... this grid's not bad but I've found it verrrry tirrring. Maybe it's the allerrrrgggies? pbr, thanks, too

7:04 pm

na 4 is that Indian bread with the double vowel su 6/24 is the preceeding 5 with a silent consonant

7:05 pm

gotta run for now, i'll try and check in later.

7:05 pm

pbr, thought I'd tried that earlier & it wouldn't take the first time.... but I'm FINISHED now (yawns).

7:06 pm

congratulations weegee.

7:06 pm

YAY weegee! *back to lurk mode*

Cliffopa... yes thanks! Lickety is over the moon!! thanks for clearing up the husband/son thing!! My son is only 7 years old... just had his birthday!

7:07 pm

micki might they go under the name Germany rather then Deutschland ??? im sure theres a Flag

7:07 pm

congrats weegee. i think the major problem with this grid is that so few words are related. there is no flow to it.

7:08 pm

Yvo, I just tried the Germany option, but it doesn't render a flag! :-( back to the USA setting for me!

7:10 pm

guess they dont want to show flag , what a pity

Mikey! I love your bio!! Very informative and exciting!

7:12 pm

Got to write a letter to my German penpal--in Guben an der Neiße--so I'll call it a night for the grid. See you all tomorrow I hope. Tschuess.

7:14 pm

Boy, this shat log doesnt deal well with the Umlaute and other German letter curiosities. Good Night.

gut'nacht und tschuess, Inge!!!

7:14 pm

biba " bis bald"

why thank you, mrpresident, sir.....er, ma'am! :-P lol; as i've just said to you on yahoo when i added you just now! ;-)

7:17 pm

...asleep at the keyboard, thanks all. (lurky Hi to stidmama) I'd offer clues but I'd probably just give flags lol goodnight everyone

7:19 pm

help with both an6/18 please

7:21 pm

what about the ar7 then

7:22 pm

nevermind, found the ar7 myself. guess the clue givers are gone or asleep

7:23 pm

Goodness Mikey, it's more of an essay than a profile!! I've just been in Germany for a few days, in Weimar, Eisenach, and Bad Berka, but don't expect any German language from me, I can't!

all righty, ExWren.....i don't have expectations in any case! ;-)

7:24 pm

Peri one of the An6/18's is : an + _ _ _ _ Armstrong (variant spelling)

7:24 pm

this game is a hard one - have great day & night always thank you lines man thank you babble boys - and gals {:-]){ xo

ExWren.....if you want some German reading practice, then view my yahoo profile; the link to it is at the end of my bio there :-P

7:25 pm

thanks, Judi, can't figure it out even with your clue

7:27 pm

peri - one of the an 6/18's is an + plus those things on the side of your head that you listen with. the other is an + an alternate spelling for what you often have to do when working in a flower bed (also a man's name.)

7:28 pm

Peri - first name of the astronaut. Guy who walked on the moon. A + N _ _ _ Armstrong. 2nd An6/18 is: An + ea4/4. *standing by with giant wet slimey fish*

7:28 pm

How are you getting on Mamabear? I've managed a few more words, but I'm giving up now, still need 37 words. Time for bed. Goodnight all

7:30 pm

Judi, please no fish :) thanks so much, never can spell the first an correctly, but got them both

7:30 pm

thanks cliff, did not see your clue till after I found the words

7:31 pm

I need clue the Na4/4 (not the one that means gramma).

7:31 pm

type of indian bread judi

7:31 pm

Judi, do you have the Indian bread with *A* double vowel in the middle

7:32 pm

Now I do, Peri. Thanks.

7:33 pm

su6/24?

7:34 pm

su 6/24 = su 4/5 + two middle letters from the first a word.

7:34 pm

Su +Wi4/8.

7:34 pm

I've been distracted ExWren.... but will get back to it in a minute!!!!

7:36 pm

7:36 pm

cliff, don't have the su4/5

7:36 pm

the 4 is the big yellow thing in the sky with duplicate consanant on the end.

7:38 pm

thought i was the big yellow thing in the sky?

hey guys, just became a pro babbler... very new at this. how do you all know the answers?? feel so small :-)

7:38 pm

cliff, thanks, finally figured it out, got the su6 another new word for me

7:38 pm

funny nut :)

we don't, HyperStitch; we just guess and type like crazy, mostly.....or at least i do, a lot! ;-)

7:39 pm

cliffy, i'm being serious... * flips through dictionary * nut: big obnoxious...er never mind.

7:39 pm

Hyper - we don't know all of the answers/words, although some of us are better at the game than others. it does get better with practice

7:41 pm

hyper - my secret is i start the puzzle at 6 am, lurk around when i am at work for all the great clues, then ask desperately for help. (plus i use the handy tools available through babblers anon and lickety)

i've been using the clues from this chat to help me solve the puzzle. what's weird is, when I do want to find the definition by clicking on the question mark icon next to the word, even dictionary.com gets stumped sometimes, telling me the word doesn't exist! :-)

7:42 pm

nut, you always make me laugh. i hope you are on wed evening. my son leaves that day. i will be weepy.

does anybody know if i use an image from my computer for my icon, will it still show up when i log on from work? does it get saved w/ my profile?

mikey, that's what i do too!!

7:44 pm

yes hyper - your icon will go with you wherever you go!!

7:44 pm

it's a date cliffy, glad you didn't say tuesday next week. i put you in charge of cheering me up friday next week, and i'll take care o you on wednesday...did that make sense.

7:44 pm

Took a break and switched back here to lurk. And what do I see, the German flag gracing Mikeys icon. Wow and congratulations. I am going back to my letter.

7:45 pm

lol lol lol lol. thanks nut :) it doesn't have to make sense as long as it works.

hmm; vielen Dank, Inge.....aber ich kann nicht es sehen? :-/

thanks, mamabear, that's good to know.

7:46 pm

* snaps to salute * at your service!

7:46 pm

Mikey - click on REFRESH and you'll see it

7:47 pm

woo-hoo! Dr. God rocks! Mikey! you have a flag! :-) *back to lurk again*

7:47 pm

missing the first ne6/30

ach, ja; ich kann jetzt es sehen.....sehr gut!!! :-D

7:48 pm

i know this is random, but i saw the most ridiculous movie with my son today. benchwarmers. would never have picked it myself, but my son was doing the choosing. much stupid humor. but i have never laughed so much at a movie.

7:48 pm

Bitte!

7:48 pm

Whoo-hoo! Mikey has a flag at last!!

7:49 pm

((((all)))) this grid makes my brain hurt

7:49 pm

kind of like dude where' my car.

7:49 pm

cliff, doesn't matter if the movie was stupid, laughing is always good and you got to spend time with your son

7:49 pm

Hi smaller!!!!!!

7:49 pm

ne 6/30: ne 4/8 that comes just after, with two vowels (third and second) inserted before the final consonant.

7:49 pm

Anybody see Harold & Kumar go to White Castle? Now talk about dumb movies... but funny as he!!

7:50 pm

no smaller *raises shovel over head* wanna know what makes your brain hurt?

7:50 pm

peri, change the last 3 letters around of the other ne6/30

7:50 pm

Clue for 2nd Pe6/21, please?

7:50 pm

what was really great - it was an early afternoon show and we were alone in the theatre (small town) so we could laugh as loud as we wanted. it felt sooooo good to be laughing.

7:50 pm

I'm back from the techno laser juggling show at the library... that was pretty cool! I'm glad my daughter dragged me back to it!

7:50 pm

nut, not again. you left a brain goop mess the last time. and it was so hard to shove it all back in.

7:51 pm

thanks smaller, never would have thought to do that

7:51 pm

hi jera!! oooo an outing!!! welcome back!

7:51 pm

there are plenty of folks here to give clues, so I am going to go read a book (you know, the paper thing that you hold in your hands...). Meantime, I've uploaded my icon for tomorrow, refresh for a preview!

7:51 pm

yeah, but i have a bigger shovel this time smaller, see? relax, i'm a professional. remember you said i'm perfect after all.

7:52 pm

Judi... someone who writes with ink might be called this... (pe6/21 clue)

7:52 pm

Judi, do you have the one you uses a writing instrument

7:52 pm

yw peri, me too. i actually entered the second incorrectly and that's how i got it.

7:53 pm

Jera & Peri, yes I have the one related to writing. Need the other one!

7:53 pm

MamaBear- I loved that movie!!! I don't really know why either

7:53 pm

7:53 pm

Give your 2nd p5 a latin plural ending

7:53 pm

Judi, Latin plural of the pe5 above it

7:54 pm

mamabear, and i loved van wilder. sooo funny

7:54 pm

dumb and dumber tops all thank you very much

7:55 pm

Thank you, Peri. Stupid Latin.

7:55 pm

My most favoritest movie EVER is Multiplicity

7:55 pm

omg mamabear - another movie my son talked me into seeing. harold & kumar rocked! (same with van wilder)

7:56 pm

I watched it 3 times!!!! LOL...... too funny. Anybody see Office Space?

7:56 pm

gonna quit with 22 left to find, Everwood is on TV and I really like the show. see you all tomorrow.

7:56 pm

I love Office Space!

7:57 pm

how about super troopers. very twisted humor. loved when they pulled guys over for doing the speed limit.

7:57 pm

office space, now can we say that's my every day? i don't have a red swingline, but i did break three staplers in one day once!

7:57 pm

did you have a 'case of the mondays'?

7:57 pm

please..please...please....don 't ..... take.... my..... stapler......

7:57 pm

i once killed a fax machine.

7:58 pm

i think it might have been a monday actually, i was nearly in tears - you know the i'm going to have a mental nervous breakdown tears.

7:58 pm

7:58 pm

7:59 pm

gotcha cliffy *wed, tickle cliffy*

8:00 pm

*wonders how to set the laser printer to "stun"*

8:00 pm

see ya cliffopa (my daughter married an Air Force man - I feel your pain) Will be thinking about you... give your son my best and tell him I said "thank you".

8:00 pm

I'm new at this...could someone please explain what p5; pe5, pe6/21; ne6/30 mean. thanks.

8:00 pm

i've mastered the chinese staple puller.

8:00 pm

So Mikey, does this mean you are they very first german Babbler? How cool is that?

8:01 pm

I'm German.... does that count? Mikey, what do ya think?

8:02 pm

leitlady: ne 6/30 means that the first two letters are 'ne'; the word is 6 letters and worth 30 points. it's a way of giving hints

8:03 pm

leitlady... it's a clue code... rather than just blurt out the answers, we give each other clues & oh-so-clever little hints. The main clue code is (for example) pe4/5... the word starts with pe with 4 letters in the word, with a point calue of 5 for the whole word.

8:04 pm

thanks for info. back to the board.

8:05 pm

I mean German as in living in Germany & thus needing a German flag...

8:05 pm

I know Jera - I was just kidding!!!!

8:05 pm

i'm german, i know how to say 'i hate this' in german

8:07 pm

auch du lieber!

8:07 pm

ha6/24 anyone?

8:07 pm

are the pu 6 & 7 really obvious and I just need the fish across the face?

8:07 pm

really mama? i would vote for him.

8:08 pm

Mama: Pu6 & 7: One(s) who make play(s) on words.

8:08 pm

Hi Mama, Jera, everyone. Nut, I just got 'Ten Big Ones.'

8:08 pm

ha 6/24 sounds like a brand of pickles

8:08 pm

mab - alright! didja read it?

8:09 pm

thanks judi!

8:10 pm

just got home; will start reading when I've finished here.

8:10 pm

thanks abe!

lol, oh; hmm.....i guess it is, Jera? haven't really given it any thought! :-P

8:10 pm

mab; don't delay, read today!

8:10 pm

lost again. re HA6/24--if you don't know word how do you know it has 6 letters for 24 points.

8:11 pm

hey smaller, i nominate mikey for morelli

8:14 pm

leitlady- you can get hints from the friends of babble sites. they kind of steer you in the right direction. many folks like to share them over chat, which is super friendly

8:14 pm

na6/21? leitlady-I am working from BJ's list, which you can find at Babblers Anonymous. It gives the second letter for each word and it's length and point count. I usually don't use it until I;m close to the end and just can't find any more on my own.

8:15 pm

eva- na 6/21 barfy

8:15 pm

okay, time to call it a night, you all behave without me.

8:16 pm

lOL-abe, I kept reading your clue as "barfly" and couldn't figure it out, and then noticed the absence of the "l" and got it right away. Thanks again.

8:16 pm

Night nut. Sweet dreams, or whatever dreams you prefer.

8:17 pm

if you were a barfly you might become barfy!! my mind inserted an L too!

8:17 pm

yw- that word was actually the bane of my existence all afternoon

8:18 pm

nite nite nut!!!!!!! mmmmwwwwwaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!

8:18 pm

Nite nut.

8:18 pm

aknitter! How nice to see you.

8:18 pm

(((((((((((Torgone)))))))))))) ))))) What's up, bud?

8:19 pm

good evening! Just lurking about trying to find words

8:19 pm

lw 4/8, lw 5/18? Not having any luck with either of those.

8:19 pm

Torgone! You've become so enigmatic lately.

8:19 pm

hi ak!!!!!!!!!

8:19 pm

anyone have the first an 6/18?

8:20 pm

I miss you, Torgone.

8:20 pm

lw -- think hawaiiaan (spelling??) necklace and add a w

huh; you nominate me for *what*, evanonut??? :-/

8:20 pm

abe-approaching...or put an a in front of your ne5/10

8:20 pm

Hi guys! Yes, I am an enigma wrapped in a riddle, covered in cream cheese, with cole slaw on the side.

8:21 pm

to that necklace add a plural fish!

8:21 pm

thanks eva!!!

8:22 pm

thanks! hit 90, I can quit and go out now. :)

8:22 pm

nut loves a series of mysteries by Janet Evanovich. There are to male characters in them - very gorgeous and appealing, I understand. It's quite an honor to be cast in nut's screenplay.

8:23 pm

any clues phor those ph words? Can't phigure them out

8:23 pm

Torgone - macaroni salad goes much better with enigmas than cole slaw, I've found.

8:23 pm

And me, allergic to dairy.

yikes; i'm being drooled on, by a 'Bear', no less!!! :-/

8:24 pm

What would be the name of these mysteries, mab????

that's just.....icky!!! :-P

8:25 pm

I don't know if I'm any good at giving out clues, but...when I was a teenager I went through a ph***.

8:25 pm

I just purchased my first. They each have a number in the title.

8:26 pm

And the hero is a woman.

8:26 pm

as knitter- one says about teenagers that they are just going through a "ph___" then add an aadjectival ending to that for the 7.

8:26 pm

I will have to look for them - are they a series where you have to read the first one first, etc.? If so, do you know the name of the first?

8:26 pm

goat-funny that we both went to the same reference. Boy that used to piss me off when I was a kid!!!

8:27 pm

phanks phor the ph clues guys, I just didn't see those 2

8:27 pm

The one to be published this June is 12. I got 10 in paperback.

8:27 pm

se 5/10?

8:28 pm

anyone with clue for sa6?

8:28 pm

sa 6/18 - ends with the opposite of down

8:29 pm

thanks mab, I haven't read a good book in a while. I am due.

8:29 pm

se5/10 is an herb used as a laxative. Like the colour, minus the first vowel.

8:29 pm

ooo, sorry, i meant sa 6/24

8:30 pm

*whimper* Last word - need clue for Su6/24.

8:30 pm

judi - add a silent consonant to the su 5 above it!

8:31 pm

pe5/12 that isn't the pasta or the pasta with the pasta with the different ending?

8:31 pm

Mama, consider Kate Atkinson's Emotionally Weird. I love the author. This book is a mystery of sorts, very funny, and brilliantly written. She's a Brit.

8:32 pm

I've missed you too, mab. And all my Babble Buddies. I'm blocked at work, and when I get home, I don't get a bunch of computer time.

8:32 pm

thanks mab! I will look for it...

8:33 pm

ye--haw! thanks for the final hint, eva. thanks to all for your help...

8:33 pm

Do you share a computer with the lad?

8:33 pm

Yay abe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

8:35 pm

Mazel Tov Abe!!! Since you are now a person of leisure....how about that pe5/12 I'm searching for?

8:35 pm

Yes, and his sister. Though she doesn't spend as much time on it. Is that Billie Holliday?

8:35 pm

and clue to the su5 please?

8:36 pm

like your po5, just change the vowel.

8:36 pm

hi all -- saw convo about books and had to speak up :) What do you consider to be a good book, Mama?

8:36 pm

eva- thanks! do you have the 5/12 that is spelled similar to po 5/12?

8:36 pm

su 5 -- that thing in the sky, double connsenant and add 1st vowel

8:37 pm

HI GW!!!! Anything that keeps my interest.

8:37 pm

su 5- su 4/5 + a vowel

8:37 pm

Yaaaaaaah! I'm done!

8:37 pm

T'is. Was the anniversary of her birth on the 7th. I thought daughter moved to her own apartment.

8:38 pm

I didn't abe, but now I do. Thks!

8:38 pm

Well, Mama -- since I am a bibliophile and used to work for a bookstore I can come up with all sorts of suggestions -- do you have a preferred genre?

8:38 pm

Hurrah, Judi!!!!!!!

8:39 pm

trying to finish the grid. fe5/18?

8:39 pm

mab - The oldest did. The middle child(21) still lives with me.

8:40 pm

Oh, I see. That must be a comfort.

8:40 pm

the last pe4/6? Must be staring me right in the face, but can't see it.

8:41 pm

So how is the grid today? I haven't started yet :)

8:41 pm

I was into James Patterson for a while... have a few of his I didn't read yet. And Nicolas Sparks. He makes me cry. But I do enough of that on my own. Dan Brown is a good mystery writer...... I like everything - just like music

8:41 pm

pu is it the one that sounds like a running shoe brand, with a one hump consonant instead of two?

8:42 pm

pe 4 is something in a church. I think it's the seats.

8:42 pm

mab, that's the pe4/9. I need the pe4/6 before it.

8:42 pm

oops ignore me i misread ;-p

8:43 pm

oops. don't have it yet.

8:44 pm

fe5/18?

8:44 pm

I only have 50 so far, GW... too busy yattling!

8:44 pm

The pe 4/6 sounds like the candy dispenser with the big heads and little sugar candies.

8:45 pm

hi all, can anyone help with ha6/24 and su6/24...? thanks

8:45 pm

Try some good literary fiction, Mama. The Corrections is fabulous and I think somehow you'd like it.

8:45 pm

pe4/6 is another name for a melon ..

8:45 pm

How about fantasy? My personal fields of personal preference are Fantasy and science fiction -- and one of my favorite series is the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett. Therer are a lot of them, but well worth the time --- they are that rarest of all beasties... the quality humorous fantasy series. The quality is consistently high and each book is better than the one previous. And best of all, they do not have to be read in order.

8:45 pm

angel- a word I had never seen before. 3 letter word french for fire + the state abbreviation for one of the southwestern states- beginning with the first vowel.

8:46 pm

Wow! that was longer than I realised :)

8:47 pm

*wanders back into chat from shopping on eBay... sees GreyWoulf & does a doubletake* {{{GREYWOULF}}}

8:48 pm

((**Jera**)) - Merry Meet, lady!

8:48 pm

se 5/10 anyone?

8:48 pm

My husband is a big fan of Discworld...

8:48 pm

torgone-can't think of any pe melons. Could you nudge that a little bit more?

8:48 pm

The Corrections is about a family - older parents, adult children. I forget the author.

GW.....hi again!!! :-D

8:49 pm

Thanks GW - I wrote it down. Who is The Corrections by, mab?

8:49 pm

ep 4?

'merry meet'? are you pagan, GW? :-/

8:49 pm

8:49 pm

mikey got his flag!

8:49 pm

8:50 pm

Yes indeedy, Mikey :)

8:50 pm

8:51 pm

I've momentarily forgotten, Mama. But don't rule out Kate Atkinson - astonishing writer.

8:51 pm

Good Omens is one of my favorite books, Terry Pratchett co-wrote it with Neil Gaiman who is also an excellent author.

8:52 pm

I wrote her down too!

8:52 pm

staffer-I think I have that. The pe4/6 I'm searching for is the second to last pe and is later in the alphabet than pen....

8:52 pm

8:57 pm

ty mab got the 6 from your clue but the 5 still eludes me

8:57 pm

I believe that there are overarcing patterns that can be traced and predicted once you hit a certain critical mass of people, but ultimately, every indivivual has the freedom to pick and choose how they will react to any given stimulus.

8:57 pm

root word is a writing implement, inky.

pe6/21 take the famous magic duo and switch their consonants. you get tell and pe****

9:17 pm

Thanks bonkler. Couldn't have done it without you. Good night all.

9:17 pm

They just haven't the least qualm about walking on the keyboard. It's maddening.

9:17 pm

pe6 -- add a letter to the pe5 which is a type of pasta

9:17 pm

Laila tov, eva.

9:18 pm

A couple flying lessons would cure that ..

9:18 pm

thanks GW! I had those, but had others crossed off list in their place. Now I need the 5 & 6 above them on the list.

9:20 pm

glad to help Mama -- luck was with us as I just found my 50th word just now :)

9:20 pm

cure what, tor?

9:21 pm

pe5 variation on pasta with a first vowel on the end

9:21 pm

Read my post again.... I still need 2 of the little pe buggers

9:22 pm

I have the pasta and the pasta with first vowel

9:22 pm

change the ending of the pasta and then give the latin plural -- I just got them myself ;)

9:23 pm

eva got that pe 4/6 ty is the next related? pe 5/12 (the first one) ?

9:23 pm

pe 5/12 is spelled like the pasta pe 5/12 is pronounced..pe 6/21 is latin plural of that

9:23 pm

follow the first vowel with a second vowel on the variation of the pasta

9:24 pm

Hi everyone. New computer allows me to post from home. Very excited. Also just finished. ready to give some clues........8)

9:24 pm

jeffer - change vowel in your po5

9:24 pm

I guess it's the very first pe 5/12 on the list I am missing then.....

9:25 pm

from the pasta, add a consonant to describe one who wields a scribbler, then plural

9:25 pm

congrats on both, joey!!!!! ((*hug*))

9:25 pm

pe plus the last 3 letters from the wi 4

9:26 pm

hi joey!!!!! thanks mab - pe's finally done.... whoo-peeeeeee

9:26 pm

I just finished. Anyone need a hint before i go?

9:26 pm

mab Brilliant! you knew better than i did what i wanted ... ty

9:26 pm

thanks, GW, it has been a long time coming for the new puter

9:27 pm

jeffer, I just saw the same clue at least five times this morning.

9:27 pm

Hi Mama - doing better?

9:27 pm

I still need 40 but can't sit here anymore..... the score is: Babble 0 Pain 1

9:27 pm

in what regard, joey?

9:28 pm

Oh, mama, I'm so sorry. I hate pain.

9:28 pm

last time we "talked" you weren't doing so hot emotionally.

9:28 pm

me too, mab..... near tears

9:28 pm

mab it was killing me having made up my mind the first two were related ... thanks again

9:29 pm

pain is definitely not fun ((**Mama**))

9:29 pm

well the physical pain has taken over the emotional for now....

9:29 pm

time to trade the cat for the baby :)

9:29 pm

take some good drugs, a hug and wrap yourself up in bed, if you can

9:30 pm

I took good drugs yesterday and I was in bed for 18 hours - didn't go to work today...

9:30 pm

You could enter the biathelon for cat and baby wrangling, gw.

9:31 pm

that's not good, though. find a happy medium somehow. ((hug))

9:32 pm

up to the As only 12 words left to find!

9:32 pm

nite all, see you at the flip.

9:33 pm

It's best to control pain before it becomes unbearable; studies show that one needs less of the med. Also peak pain is so much harder to alleviate. Ok public service announcement over.

9:33 pm

Bye joey.

9:34 pm

Hope you feel better mama.

9:35 pm

I very seldom take anything for pain. VERY seldom. Just as a last resort.

9:36 pm

thanks Tor!

9:38 pm

sa6?

9:39 pm

Mama, as my doc told me today: 'defer saving the world please. Take care of yourself for now.' Do feel better. Will keep a good thought.

9:40 pm

thanks mab, I appreciate the concern!

9:40 pm

Wise doc, mab.

9:40 pm

my docs tend to say "hmmmm..... have never seen anything like this before...."

9:41 pm

Angel, I don't have it yet. Somebody must. Please? Angel the resource pages are gorgeous and such a trove of info - brilliant.

9:42 pm

good nite, everyone! Happy Babbling!!!!!!

9:44 pm

G'nite mama ..

9:44 pm

So long, Mama -- may your pain pass swiftly and your dreams be deep (*HUG*)

9:45 pm

Night dear MamaBear.

9:46 pm

DONE!!!

9:47 pm

se5?

9:47 pm

Yay Minski!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! N ow. Do you have a clue for sa6? hmmmm?

9:48 pm

se 5 same as he5, angel.

9:49 pm

if he were there. Sorry. think temporary tattoo, with double cons in middle.

9:50 pm

se6 = first 3 letters of previous + first 3 letters of a wedding

9:50 pm

thank you most kindly, Mab! I'm glad you like the pages.

9:51 pm

Good evening ladies & gents. Did I miss anything this weekend?

9:51 pm

((**Hoot**)) - hi mom!

9:52 pm

ok - a fancy name for a wedding..:)

9:53 pm

Hi woulf - hows it going? Got my stuff from Knox! Missed two tornedos! Now trying to find room for everything!

9:53 pm

Hi hootowl -- I just got back, too. Took all the boys and one dog for a walk in the sunshine! Here to help if you need it. Hi Angelsong, mab.... jeffer... et al, etc. {{hugs}}

9:54 pm

Also doing a lot of ...why did I buy that? Get that? Ugh!

9:55 pm

Hi mama! I'm done. After 2 days deprived I concentrated! What a pain in the butt! Monkeytyping rules!!!

9:55 pm

Great to hear, hoot! Discovered the trick to getting Seb to sleep through the night yesterday :) Took him to visit his Mimi and sat outside with him... the fresh air knocked out all night ;)

9:56 pm

Also trying to put the missing word into the RIGHT place!

9:56 pm

Hi, Stidmama!!! hi, GW...all. I'm all finished!

9:56 pm

That'll work even when your my age! But what about during the day???

9:57 pm

Brava Angel!!!!

9:57 pm

Hi angel - good work!

9:58 pm

YAY Angelsong!

9:58 pm

YAY hootowl!!

9:58 pm

he takes lots of little catnaps during the day -- makes getting anything done problematic :\

10:00 pm

Aww, just play some rocking music and keep him in line-o-sight and he'll be happy.

10:00 pm

anyone know how many words tonight

10:01 pm

114 - pain in the butts!

10:01 pm

114 Owl. See Angelsong's Babble Pages link at right for tons of info.

10:01 pm

yea this one is really difficult

10:02 pm

What really scares me is how many of these weird words I remember! I won't have room for important stuff!!!

10:04 pm

sa6 when the sun goes up it could be called su6 replace the u with an a

10:06 pm

jsut put SEb back in his bassinet -- another quirk about him and sleep is that he really sleeps better and deeper when he is tightly bundled -- He is also much more sensitive to temperature than his sister was

10:06 pm

sa6 sa + double consonent + opposite of down

10:06 pm

Thanks Minski.

10:07 pm

GW how old is Seb now?

10:08 pm

Misses the womb. It'll go away.

10:09 pm

10 weeks and growing! He was 12 pounds 2 weeks ago

10:09 pm

yay. halfway.

10:09 pm

same here tor :)

10:10 pm

Hahaha! Growing is built in. Good sign!

10:10 pm

grey wolf, I feel your pain. Raya only goes down for 20 min naps during the day and some nights it is a PitA to get her to sleep.

10:11 pm

any clues for the last na 4/4 word?

10:11 pm

na word is sick to your stomach

10:11 pm

That's about what my Paigey was at that age. Babies are so miraculous.

10:11 pm

dino -- actually on the overnights I am extraordinarily blessed -- once he goes to sleep he is out for at least 4 hours, usually 5 --- but once he wakes for the midnight feed it takes at least an hour to get him back to sleep

10:12 pm

na 4/4: repetitive word often used for grandmother or nursemaid... think the dog in Peter Pan

10:12 pm

Yeah, once Raya goes down, she sleeps for about 6-8 hours now. She just turned 6 months last week, though She's always been a great night sleeper

10:12 pm

Goofed the 4/4 is nostrils

10:13 pm

I have that na word. ANy clues for the other 4/4 word?

10:13 pm

Nuts! I give up. Gonna have a drink! Anyone want to join me?

10:13 pm

Oh god I wish! But, drinks get into the boob juice

10:14 pm

Bread - double a in middle of single humps

10:14 pm

Joy - reverse the last letters of the gramma

10:14 pm

If you have the bread one, the other one is grandma

10:15 pm

Well I'm done so I don't have to think any more!:):)

10:15 pm

Paigey is 15 months old now. Today I put her down for a nap at about 10am after she almost fell asleep watching Sesame Street. About 20 minutes later she was wailing so loud and so strangely that I went in to check on her (I usually just ignore it and she falls asleep pretty quickly). She was standing up in the corner of her crib wearing nothing but a diaper. I had put her down in her fleece footed zipup sleeper. I know she figured out zippers, but she has never undressed herself before. That was one nap she was NOT going to take. She didn't end up taking a nap until 2pm.

10:15 pm

Ahhh, the things we have to look forward to!

10:16 pm

Joy ~ do you have the bread from India?

10:16 pm

At a certain age they all seem to want to divest themselves of clothes. My nephew did it, and so did my son. Amazing how fast they can do it too. Normal.

10:16 pm

i'd like a clue for ar7 please?

10:16 pm

Minski -- the only way I used to be able to get Kristianna to take a nap during the day was for me to take a drive in the car.... and even then the longest she slept was a little over an hour

10:17 pm

AR7 ~ someone who has a lot of guns could be said to have an AR7

10:18 pm

Hey I keep telling you! Just because granma says so - It ain't necessarily so!

10:18 pm

i can't believe i am falling asleep again! time for a quick nap, back later.

10:19 pm

All babies do not take long naps. All babies do not start walking at 2 1/2. Allbabies do not talk at 3. Stop trying to shove them into a box!

10:19 pm

I don't know how I did it but Paige is a great sleeper. She goes to sleep between 7 & 7:30 pm and sleeps usually until between 6 & 7:30am. She used to take 2 naps 1.5 to 3 hours long but now she is down to one 2ish hour nap a day. Don't despair, it will happen for your kidlets too.

10:19 pm

later mama.

10:20 pm

Thanks MInski, got it!

10:21 pm

Hoot -- you will get a kick out of this one -- Mimi is as much of a packrat as you are though she is cleaning out her nooks and crannies now -- she brought over a bunch of booklets on child rearing issued by the US Dept of Health from 1968 -1972

10:22 pm

Hoot ~ I didn't walk until I was 19 months old. Paige is 15 months old and still doesn't walk although that hasn't slowed her down any. She has 2 words: mama, dada, ba (hello, goodbye, dog, cat.....ba means many things). THe last place she will be put is in a box (she would figure out a way to climb out of it).

10:22 pm

It is definitely interesting to compare the tone and quality of the advice between then and now :)

10:22 pm

I don't think any of us were putting kids in a box - just relating our experiences

10:24 pm

Hah - My son walked at 1 yr and didn't talk til 3+. And that was cause his cousins forced him to! If we are all individuals why do they insist babies follow some kind of schedual!??

10:24 pm

My Parents and In-Laws are always giggling about all the "terrible things" they did to us when we were kids. We sat in the front seat. We rode unrestrained in our porter cribs in the way back of the car with all the windows opened. We rode our bikes without helmits. etc. etc. It's a miracle we all survived.

10:25 pm

Oh don't get upset with me please! Just my soapbox for the night! Everyone does things their own way and the kids survive. Not sure about the parents but the kids do!:D

10:27 pm

Don't sweat it, hoot -- the hazard of the chat log -- it can be very easy to misinterpret someones intent due to the lack of visual and auditory cues that a face to face meeting provide

10:27 pm

Lord knows we have had our fair share of mistakes here in Babbleonia

10:28 pm

Noone's angry with you Hooty. Every child is different. Some people need the statistics to feel better. Others blow that stats out of the water and laugh at them. I would rather laugh and not worry. Paigey is normal and healthy and happy and wonderful and I'm sure all of the babble world's children are also.

10:28 pm

Well lets see...I was raised in Brooklyn so it was stickball and all other games in the street. Catching a tow from a bus or trolley on roller skates. Going just about anyplace on our bikes. All nonos now. Too bad.

10:29 pm

Oh, Raya is only going to crawl so she can chase the cats and dog around the house. She is on the motivational track! The sad part is, she hates tummy time, so I don't know how she'll learn to crawl ;)

10:29 pm

have clues for su6 been given recently?

10:29 pm

Oh this is a great conversation! But are you Babbling or just babbling?

10:30 pm

My mom told me that before this whole car seat craze they would put the kid in the foot well of the passenger's seat if there was no one to watch/hold them in the back

10:30 pm

Both cats just jumped on me. I guess it's time for bed. SEe you all tomorrow. Happy Passover or Happy Easter

10:30 pm

add cons to su5 above.

10:30 pm

Don't worry, dino -- it will happen -- in her own time ;D Hoot -- the answer is YES :D

10:31 pm

Night Minski - Happy holidays to you too.

10:31 pm

Hag sameach, Minski! Night.

10:31 pm

Like I said, she's motivated to chase the cats. I know it'll happen. I've already started baby-proofing the living room in preparation

10:31 pm

later, Minski (*Hug*)

10:32 pm

su6 start with the su4/5 move on to the su5/12 by adding a vowel to the end move on to the su6/24 by adding a consonent to the end of the 5

10:32 pm

OK, got the su6, but that blows my clever plan to get the su7 out of the water! :D

10:33 pm

And then there was summers in the country... Walking everywhere. Fires in the woods. BB guns. Axes. I'm sitting here counting scars and realising how little we were watched!

10:33 pm

su7 compound word su3 + w4

10:34 pm

Ty, Minski

10:34 pm

cats are screetching really going to bed this time ni ni all

10:34 pm

Very little conns on this grid woulf

10:35 pm

dino -- now that is where I am a bad parent according to the books -- I do the most minimal baby proofing -- I cover outlets and try to pad the sharpest corners-- other than that I rely on something which seems to have been forgotten by most of the books... I pay attention to what my children are doing

10:37 pm

That is all I have done - outlets and padded my coffee table. I am not bolting my bookcase to the wall, I am not strapping the TV down and I will not hide all the cords. I do, however, plan on putting up little v hooks to wrap the blind cords around. Even my cat gets into trouble with those

10:37 pm

Thats what I did + removing all breakables within reach. It's amazing how many pieces a 3" piece of pottery will break into!

10:38 pm

And you were always in eye range!

10:38 pm

I just want to say that the Red Green show, made in Canada has come to a finale.

10:39 pm

OK, gotta drive hubby to the airport at ih-dark hundred. Night!

10:39 pm

I agree with that as well, my blinds are out of reach so I have no concerns there -- but I didn't even pad the coffee table -- Kristianna has thunked herself a couple of times now and has already made it to the point where, unless it is a really bad bump or comes as a complete surprise, she is more likely to laugh it off than cry :)

10:40 pm

Dino - I never heard about the bookcases but if they are that unstable it's much more likely to be you under them than a 50 lb baby!

10:40 pm

So long, dino -- safe travels :)

10:41 pm

No more Red Green? Say it ain't so!

10:41 pm

Night Dino - take care

10:41 pm

stidmama -- I don't know the Red Green show, so am unaware of the significance of your statement--- sorry :\

10:42 pm

Think they are just tired of us talking about babies! :D:D:D

10:43 pm

We could talk about tornedoes. We were missed twice in one week!

10:43 pm

i'm sure not, hoot. what's a red green? (brown, I know)

10:44 pm

sounds incredibly thrilling in the fullest meaning of the word, hoot

10:47 pm

"Remember - If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy."

10:49 pm

i got 114 words! am i done?

10:49 pm

Well we had a whole string come thru Memphis last week but it split 2 ways and one string headed north and the other south. We got a spectacular light show but not even rain! Then on our way back from Knox I was tdriving his truck & listening to the radio and they were issuing warnings again. Pulled into a rest stop and told him what was happening and we decided to get off the road and headed for a motel. Same thing! Split up and half went north and half went south!

10:49 pm

Yes you are spink

10:51 pm

Sounds like someone was watching over you, hoot

10:51 pm

Well, it was it's 300th episode and is pretty funny. It was a pretty fun show and I did the math. I knew that the current season was going to be the last. Bill was there, Red and Harold hugged. It would have been the last season if it was 15, 20, 25, or 30 episodes in a season. So, most likely.

10:51 pm

But especially in the north there was devestation. You really ought to watch the news. Houses just piles of splinters, semis on their sides and at least 2 auto dealerships totally wiped out!

10:53 pm

I came to the conclusion long ago that I will be nit-picked to death! No spectacular exit for me. I win $2.00 jackpots, not $2,000,000. Pain in the butt!

10:53 pm

oops, sorry stidmatt, just noticed my error - didn't mean to confuse you with your mama -- I forgot to look past the stid in your name :)

10:53 pm

It's okay.

10:54 pm

300 episodes sounds like a lot. Cool that you get some Canadian tv, stidmatt.

10:54 pm

We are in Washington, and get CBC.

10:54 pm

Well that solves that! Didn't know there were 2 of them!

10:54 pm

It also shows on KBTC which is PBS.

10:55 pm

Time to go to bed. Bye y'all!

10:56 pm

Bye Matt - nice to meet you

10:56 pm

I'm envious. I'm thinking maybe they run a lot of Brit programs. Yes?

10:56 pm

I was just gonna comment on that, stidmatt ;D Good night and have a great tomorrow!!

10:56 pm

oops. Night stidmatt!

10:58 pm

I should go too. You need more clues woulf?

10:59 pm

Well, I have 20 to go -- so I am sure I will need a few more, but not at the moment

10:59 pm

Anyone?

10:59 pm

oh alright -- ha6?

10:59 pm

I'll wait a few...

11:00 pm

Someone earlier said it was like a german home with small hump end

11:01 pm

got it

11:02 pm

11:03 pm

ph7 == ph5 + man's name (Prince **bert)

11:03 pm

stupid dictionary never saw star trek...no PH 6 ending in R!??

11:03 pm

ROFL -- I thought the exact same thing, jfarber!!

11:04 pm

thanks, that was one that was driving me nuts! I wanted ph 6 to be ph 5 w/ an R too!

11:05 pm

well we're unanimous! fe5/18 = fe + upside down single hump + middle of er 4/4

11:05 pm

ar7 -- a large collection of weapons is considered to be an ar*****

11:06 pm

fe 6 is plural

11:07 pm

ok back for my last 15!

11:08 pm

thanks for the fe hoot.

11:08 pm

love the def for the fe5 -- one who holds a fe3 now and fe3 is "(Scots Law) A free and gratuitous right to lands made to one for service to be performed by him; a tenure where the vassal, in place of military services, makes a return in grain or in money. --Burrill."

11:08 pm

Hi LA -- how's it going?

11:08 pm

That's right LeslieAnn, start a riot! The A's are deadly though.

11:13 pm

sorry -- thought it was at me, so I responded in kind :) :P

11:13 pm

Oh the stop at the motel was accompanied by hail the size of limes and very heavy rain! Nothing but sirens the rest of the night. Da** Tenn drivers never slow down!

11:20 pm

Hooray for woulf!

11:30 pm

double cons, Leslie

11:30 pm

aha, a rhyming clue will always work when an actual definition confounds me :)

11:30 pm

mab are you done yet? cause i only have one more....

11:31 pm

I am, but i had many fewer words than you did.

11:32 pm

11:38 pm

pe4: pe plus not rich.

11:38 pm

11:39 pm

pe 4/6 like pe** le pew, change last vowel to another vowel

11:39 pm

which pe6 theres 2

11:39 pm

pe 6/21: add a letter to the pe 5/12 before it (for both 6/21s)

11:40 pm

pe 6 is pe5 with latinate plural.

11:41 pm

great clues for the pe 4/4. "not rich..." ha! I'm looking for the pe 6/21 that isn't about a writer

11:42 pm
