Morning bex are you feeling better today?
ty fmitch and bex
does anyone no what the 10 letter word starts with?
it's an in10/77
Good morning, all. Bex, it's in10/77 but I don't have it yet.
woohoo, just found it, it's a normal word - means to burn.
morning haz!!
Morning, bex and thanks FMitch - got it now.
thats me finished
going to do housework now bye everyone
Well done, ruthy - what did you think of the grid?
Morning Haz, sorry was busy woohooing, don't usually find the big ones by myself!!
It's always nice when they're normal words as well.
it wasnt to bad today some words puzzled me .
But you're not tearing your hair out? That's some comfort! Have a good day, ruthy.
no it was a good grid comparing it to some of the others i have done. have a good day to haz bye
Bye ruthy.
Have you just started it Haz? I think you will enjoy it today. I thought if was going to be a difficult one as no s or d but its flowing quite well (so far).
morning everyone my mums just finished to im going to have a go at doing the grid now
I've got 62 words so far - not concentrating very well as I have an optician's appointment later this morning and some phone calls to be made so I'm feeling a bit distracted.
morning hannah
Using all my powers of deduction, you must be ruthy's daughter Hannah Lou!
As usual, life does have this knack of getting the way of babble LOL
I'll stick at it for another little while, then have to make those phone calls.
yes i am haz between my mum and my auntie they got me adicted to babble to
Good for them - they sound to be women of sound mind and priorities.
That's too many sounds in the one sentence, but you get my meaning!
The cheese is back!
yes i do haz thank you
doh, I'd missed that one. There is also a breakfast cereal that if you play around with endings will give you a 7 & 8.
I'd got the br8 but I'll have to play around for the 7.
thanks! i didnt have those!
my fav word so far today is the cr9 - Victorian ladies type of dress.
They say that fashions always repeat themselves. Let's hope that one doesn't return!
yes, that cr9 is a good word
LOL, it would be fun on the tube in the rush hour!!
if memory serves me right, Vivienne Westwood did her intepretation of one some years back.
It wouldn't bear thinking about unless some enterprising soul could invent a means of inflating and deflating the structure underneath.
Speaking of designers, Nina Ricci is in the grid today but not a point does she yield...
LOL there are soooo many f's and b's today, may have to take a break for a while.
The i's and c's and n's are over-represented as well!
found 45, now off to have a quick look at today's sudoku to see what that is like. back soon
i only have 44 words! :)
bex, that is good going. Im sure you will find more.
starting to slow down at 42...
how about some C-clues? :)
Taking a break at 80 words. It's slow going this morning.
Im working backwards today so haven't got to the c's yet. See you later Haz, Im at 122 so think I will stick with it until the bitter end. LOL
chopped...think old film ci,4...the 6&7 work off that
can anyone help with a clue to the fe6/30 please?
FMitch...aromatic edible bulb
fmitch - iron
oops wrong one sorry...not v good at giving clues yet!!
LOL don't worry hetz hmm thanks broll.
fe 6/30 pertaining to or containing iron
Can anyone give me a clue for en 6/21?
thanks all, got it.
good day everyone. this grid looks interesting.
Hey cliff - it is once you get stuck in.
Morning dear gang :)
hi sprite! did u finish sudoku?
Afternoon sprite - bit late for you isn't it?
Yes, but I had to guess 1 digit :(
Got it and now I am finished! Good luck to all working the grid!
It is, FMitch, had to go to the physiotherapist first. Good to see you on line :)
Gj dalmatian :)
yay dalmation!
How's things going sprite?
Slowly in the right direction. I must learn to take it one step at the time and be satisfied with that, not wanting to rush and push myself beyond the limits and pay the price afterwards. Kind of learning to walk again, lol, but I am learning. Thanks for asking :) How are you doing?
only found 1 8 (br8/50) anyone know what the other 2 are? (got the 9 & 10)
Ishult - ol and te 8's
also can't figure any o's, any clues gratefully accepted?
O4/4 old oily babbly familiar
These things do take time don't they Sprite and it must be hard not to try and run sometimes. Just keep at it and I know you will get there.
All but one of the ol's start with the same first three letters. All of them are related and are chemical words.
Thanks FMitch :) Yes, it is all about learning to have patience with oneself, which is incredibly difficult at times. I used to get everything done on willpower alone. Now I am paying the price and I must learn to find another way. It's an interesting challenge ;)
can anyone help with the 9 and 10 im really stuck!
I cannot find that O8, may I ask for a clue?
in 10/77 means to burn. It is a word usually connected with burning things in an industrial setting.
sprite - take yr ol6/27 and add a vowel and a tile worth 2
Hello everyone, I have decided to play today. I didn't finish Mondays puzzle so didn't even start yesterdays two-hundreder. Just thought I'd let you know I have got past the re's!
thanx haz. never would have got that!!
Good morning, saffire and ex-Wren!
Thanks FMitch, that one was beyond me :)
lol WTG ExWren
Bex - did you get the 10 letter word?
hi haz. still picking up your clues!!
Good job ExWren :)
no! :(
thats me done hope everyone will have a nice day bye
Okay - try adding the word to do with film (four letters), then a four letter word meaning either the speed at which you do things, or the tax your parents pay to the council for services.
bye hannah.
Bye Hannah Lou - have a good day!
is the film one the o 4? because i didnt get it when the clue was given:)
Bex - the word is part of the place where you go to see films (drop the last two letters that mean shortened mother)
got it thanks!!! :)
Got it too, thanks. Only don't see yet how it can become a 9.
Great! I can go off to the opticians with a happy heart! See you later.
me either! :/
bye haz!
bye haz!!
thanks for the clues haz :)
the 9 is a cr9
LOL! No wonder I couldn't get there with the O10. Thanks again.
np sprite, Haz and I had a good chat about the cr9 earlier in the log if any clues are needed, scroll back.
Not needed, I see it right away. Brings back old times, lol.
We almost could have made someone who wears one, do you see that?
LOL hadn't noticed that! there is a sneaky unexpected (well it was to me) br4/6 and it's what you say when you are cold.
That would have been a 15!
Omg, that IS a sneaky one! Thanks :)
Morning everyone :) That last br4/6 just slays me... is it really that cold in babble-land? lol
Hi trish lol!
morning all
Hi trish, hi sha :D

Thanks all!!! Hi Faerie.
Ha faerie :)
morning faerie - send some of that rain this way please. we are dry as a bone in NH.

Cliff - goodmorning!! wish I could send you rain and thunder. My dog Max is in the bathtub right now shaking like a leaf. Poor little guy he so scared of storms. So he get in the tub LOL
On the whole the grid is an enjoyable one today not like some we have had recently.
any A-word clues please?
poor max :( i'm afraid of thunder and lightning too.
FMitch-thanks...I need an easy one. Yesterday was very taxing on me. I was in and out all day didn't get to finish.
It's a really fun grid :D
I didn't get a chance to babble yesterday at all and have decided that the over 200's I don't have time to finish anymore so won't start.
I dreamed about TSM last night. I cried most of the night. I feel like "we babblers" lost a baby almost. I just ache for her.
FMitch - I had every intention of finishing yesterday all the way up until TSM e-mailed me :( She lost her baby.
I must have missed that. What's with TSM? Bad news?
I see... I am so sorry. Happened to me once. She'll be having a very tough time :( :(
oh my, thats so sad to hear! (((TSM)))
Spirite - Yeah TSM is no longer with child. Angelsong set up a site on BabAnon for her.
Leaves gentle hugs for :::::TSM:::::
I'll go there now for a few words of sympathy. Doesn't help, but what else can we do?
chopped try thinking of an agatha christie book death on the .... and add a vowel at the beginning
{{{Trish}}} Hi...long time no see :)

Trish - you really should get more sleep hon :)
Any hints on the en 6/21 ?
Not here, just getting started sorry.
lol, Faerie, you don't think the racoon looks suits me?
en + ci4/5 (change end vowel)
Trish - Well Hon with the wild hair and sunken eyes you just look like you need a good nights sleep LOLOL but I just love you icon. I laugh every time I see it :)
thanks trish!
That En means oak tree.

No - I went to bed instead...LOL
It is really fun, Temple! A few stupidhead words, but also some surprising finds (to me anyway) and it is a challenge without being too big.
good! i could use some fun! too little fun lately!
Some tough times going on with you? :( *hugs*
oh no, sprtie! just time crunched - have to better use those 24 hours we all have! and stop procratinating.
Listing priorities is one of the hardest things we got to do in life! :) I wish you lots of fun and the power to create time to have fun in.
thanks, sprite! : D

lol gramma!! :)
hi gramma!
Morning Gramma LOL
i hope there are some other people who have favorite poker stars... i hope i didn't suggest a loser theme this time :)
I was going to use a poRker. But I decided to stay true to the theme du jour.
well time for me to go ill finish later bye all and happy babbleing :0
well i think it's very clever :)
I usually try to support the group icon theme, but today being the 25th anniversary of the first shuttle launch, I had to go with my passion!
good morning. i see gramma and I had the same idea.
How are you feeling this morning Hurshy?
hi mm!
Excellent, MM! Great minds and all
Morning TO
Te8/50, Te7/28
i like jennifer harman. That girl has been through a lot and still playing well.
Has it really been 25 years Jera? sheesh I feel old.
Any help for the te8/50? Its the last word I have and it is stumping me!
refresh for today icon theme
Amazing, isn't it, musicmom? We've come soooo far in 100 years of flight!
Morning {{{MusicMom}}}
NO Kidding! I remember reading about the first shuttle launch in our weekly reader at school.
Te8: start with a number, then a vowel, then a thing to prevent your breasts from going south, then a plural vowel.
Uludaas, sorry I don't have it ;{
I don't have it either. just started.
Oh well I will keep strugling then and hopefully get it!
Thanks, sprite 8)
Uludaas, see my clue :)
Thanks sprite hopefully that is enough to work with =p
excellent clue sprite! I have it i now!
Should be ;)
Sprite - Thanks thats another word for me. I love your clues.
Giving clues is part of the fun, really :) And reading clues too, I love what some people here do with clues.
Ok, got it and complete!! Thanks for the help sprite I have never heard of that word and if you gave a dictionary definition clue I would still never have gotten it!
CONGRATULATIONS ULUDAAS !!!!
BRAVO Uludaas
WTG Uludaas!
yay uludaas!
thanks sprite! just got your clue!
If you get really desperate & the clever clues aren't making sense, a definition can come in handy using google!
Huzzah for Uludaas!
I really like the reverse dictionary at onelook.com when definition clues are given.
Thanks everyone. I think its bed time for me now. Night all! (Or morning for those who are on the otherside of the world!)
Good night sweet dreams :)
Night Ulu. brb - the dryer buzzed.
mmmmm......waffle with walnuts...
Sounds yummy Music...speaking of which...brb getting a bowl of Frosted Flakes with raisins.
waffle with walnuts?? YUMMY!
candied walnuts. ;)
Evan - you get much better breakfasts than I. Waffles are reserved for the weekend around here. Lately we have been too busy even on the weekends for them.
i only get good breakfasts when im at the office...we have a pretty decent cafeteria :)
hmmmmm maybe I should go back to work..............
NAH school cafeteria food never included candied walnuts.
it doesnt balance out, trust me!! hehe
I seriously shouldn't be complaining today. My piano student's mom baked me choco chip cookies for Easter. I'm enjoying those with my coffee.
and i came in to work this morning to find my space heater finally bit the big one...and of course im wearing a skirt today! ive got my fleece hoodie over my legs to keep them warm!
Oh no. That's terrible. I hate to be too hot or too cold. It is supposed to get up to the mid 70 s here today. Any chance of that for you down there?
You people have lovely breakfasts...
yeah, mid-70s -- OUTSIDE! hehe too chilly inside for me
So...uhm...... tell them you have a project that needs your attention outside and go for a walk:-)
Good morning all you wonderful people! :)
brb
{{{JEN}}}
{{Jera}}! :)
Morning all.
hi capone!
Good morning Capone! Glad to see you!!!!!
Hey Jen - you came in while I was out too.
Yup MM! :) I have made it down to Florida, and it only cost me a $200 speeding ticket! :(
Good morning, capone.
Bummer Jen!!!! :-(((
...and morning everyone.
Sorry, my husband called with the morning roadwork report... the way I usually atke Gwyd to school is blocked with no warning!
three to go anyone have a clue for te 5/10? ri 5/12? fe 7/40? I must get to work! LOL
Bummer Jera. I hate when that happens!!
Where did you get caught, Jen?
Swannee County, about 100 miles out of Tallahassee! He lasered me going 93 in a 70. oops!
Ahhh... that's why so much. The only time I ever got a speeding ticket I was just 12 over, it was $162... not that it scarred me for life or anything...
Man and I thought $90. was bad.
Hubby is pretty ticked about it, but I keep reminding him about the time he got 2 tickets in a 1 month period.
anyone have the le 7/28?
Kate - I'm not ignoring you - I don't have those words.
sorry cliff - don't have it:-( Is anyone getting the idea I don't have much of anything yet? That would be true<G>
for the l 7 - "li 4 - like"
Think big cat-like for the le7
te 5/10 starts like the thing you talk on. Add two vowels (the 4 and then the 3)
ty musicmom
I think a lot depends on where you are & how badly the area needs money... also how much over the limit you were...
Good afternoon/morning all!
hi haz!
still need the le 7/28.
That county is notorious for speed traps. I had my radar detector on, but when they ping you with laser, there ain't nothin you can do except start pulling out your license and registration. Now if I can just figure out of VA is going to take points on my license.
ri5/12 ri+alternative spelling for bad deed.
le7 le* the lion + a number
cliffopa - Sign of the zodiac plus a number (le7)
Mornin Haz!
I'm back. Had my breakfast and I think I'm ready to do this :)
Hi there, musicmom!
Oh no! No stats yet! You mean I've got to actually count?! I'll do #'s here when I absolutely must, but can't do that su**** thing--I'd be certifiable then! Fun day all. Keep smiling :)
aahhhh, now i get it. only took what, about 5 clues? must need more coffee.
Lickety has a 2nd letter list up.
actually just got that one--ty so much I'm sure the fe is some hideous word to do with iron for the le7 = try the sign for august plus the number of months for a normal regnancy
Faerie - did you eat all y our raisins??? Ooops sorry. That's an instant response question.
Yes
there is a stats list up at babblers anonymous. But the first one, ab 4/7 doesn't make sense, because I can't reach any 2 pt tiles from the ab combo. ???
get nabbed in Waldo, Jen?
You must be looking at yesterday's stats. Today's are on lickety's page.
Are there really ab words today?
Hi Capone :)
Live Oak, Capone...
I did it! thanks for all the help! No ab words
I"m sorry all -- don't be confused just because I am. Thanks, Haz -- you're right.
CONGRATS KATIEQ and thanks.
phone brb
Ugh, just as bad. My friend and I used to get stopped weekly driving through Waldo to Tampa when we'd drive down to the Buc games.
Bravo Kate
thanks! any clues before I go?
Kateq just leave your list of words with us LOL
congrats Kateq!
fe7/40?
fe7/40 - iron plus speed at which you do things.
fe7/40= syllable meaning iron plus past tense of eat (also anagram of eat)
Is this puzzle a little "catty" this a.m.?
oooh - that was hidden nicely, wasn't it? thanks!
There are a few themes going on - cats and food among them.
I can't believe it's not "butta"!
cap, I'm not sure I know where Waldo is (and I am being serious, but feel free to insert joke here)
LOL Jen
Food and function intertwined--how clever!
Waldo is just north of Gainesville FL. (I used to live in Starke, which is north of Waldo.)
Waldo is a little hick town located on 301 between Jacksonville and Gainesville before you hit I-75. We always cut through the chain (Lawtey, Starke, Waldo, etc) as opposed to going I-10 West to I-75 south, more scenic.
Ah, now Starke I know! Growing up in Tally, we pretty much went north when we travelled (like up to Atlanta), rather than south.
I worked in Gainesville and lived in Starke for four years. Each weekday, I drove through Waldo. In all that time, I was stopped only once in Waldo, and got off with a warning.
This is only my 2nd ticket ever, but I made it a doozy! LOL
Good morning everyone. Is there an error in the Lickety list.? I have a 5letter ea word but no 6/18. Is there also a ea 6/18?
Well, if something is worth doing, it's worth doing RIGHT! Just be prepared for a surcharge to be added to your insurance.
Never mind. Found my error.
i'm not sure inge.
inge there is an ea 6/18
Yeah, I need to call Virginia and see if points are going to be assessed (see if Florida reports tix to other states) and also call insurance.
do I have time for Babble today? Nope. Did I just start the grid? Of course
can't seem to figure out the ri word. i didn't understand the earlier clue -- guess i'v never done any bad deeds LOL
Harumph, it says nole is not a word. Yes it is!!! I am a nole fan! LOL
ri5 one of the bio/chem agents we didn't find in iraq
Last March I got a speeding ticket going to work. I went ahead and paid it. THEN a year later I get a notice from the insurance company that they are raising my rates for two more years!!
aknitter. confession is for reporting s** ri+a different spelling of that word
The ri 5 - first three letters as in produce of paddy field, then add preposition
ty mm --- see i have never si**** before so I didn't get it (waiting for lightening to strike me!!)
brb
haz what is a paddy field?
LOL knitter.
paddy field -- where uncle ben grows his product
bex, think Uncle Ben's or Basmati...
paddy field: where one grows irish. (sorry momma o'neil)
oh perhaps uncle ben isn'tin the uk
Nole is a synonym for criminal, it should be on the list.
bex - contrary to how it looks it's not a potato field! It's the name given to the fields where staple product of chinese/indian food is grown.
LOL bonkler (and I say that as a proud Irish!)
an 7 any one?
If you have the an5 (resembling the teary vegetable) add almost frozen water
ty haz --- please pass a fish
Glad to help.
is the loast br 4/6 really a word??? more like a sound effect
does anyone else wonder how the b word with no vowels can possibly be a word? i know its a noise people make, but really..................
clif i think we found the same word at the same time!!
OMG- the very last 4/6 now that is a made up word for sure.
thanks cliffopa, aknitter -- I was just struggling with that one when I read your clues!
Cliff-just got it. No kidding.
Looks like a few of us found it all at once LOL
ch1212 -- glad to beeeeee of help (see i can make up words too)
i want to meet the person who put this in the enable dictionary. how on earth would anyone think that could be an option.
lol anknitter :)
OMG marhta stewart just came on tv carring a 21 pound rabbit!! it is HUGE
Carving a rabbit, or carrying a rabbit?
carrying (oh not carving -- ewww)
OH PLEASE let it be carrying ..... don't answer if it is carving<G>
some giant form of rabbit, she is beautiful (the rabbit not martha)
Music LOL
Sorry - all the vegetarians are being sick at the thought....
aknitter - amen on that one.
Jen? No comment? 8(
I'm not a veggie but that is gross. I prefer to fulfill my carnivore ways with neatly wrapped packages from the grocery .
Whoops capone... comment about what? I've been trying to get my son fed, so haven't been keeping up.
gotta love a good cheeseburger!
I was visualising her carving a cooked rabbit, not a live one!
Yep as long as I don't have to meet the cow. I know - I'm a hypocrite.
i just noticed i haven't got a single a word. must not have been many 'a' clues going by in the chat log. (i'm working backwards again - it seems to work for me)
"8:50 am capone Nole is a synonym for criminal, it should be on the list."
Capone - not even a squeak !!!!
Oh.... haha. I will not even dignify that with a response. ;)
I'm working backwards today too. Stuck in the dreadful re words.
i can just picture martha chasing a rabbit around her tv studio holding a knife and fork (pinkie properly crooked of course)
mm - 5 of those re words start with the 3 letter word for the guy on a football field who wears black & white stripes - if that helps any.
That does help. I have the 4/7 starting that way. I'll go look for them.
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea k
I just dropped my bathrobe in the toilet....yuck
Got them! thanks FAERIE ---- ewwwwwww. Hey I'm doing laundry want me to wash it for you?
faerie, before or after you flushed?
Capone will you come get out for me I didn't poo poo.
of course before.
faeriekae -- afraid to ask but feel compelled to .... is your computer in the bathroom too? how did you get from point a to the computer so quickly? and DID YOU WASH YOUR HANDS???
Music - will you - Capone will run it right over to you.
hands are washed. and I am fast.
Sure Faerie. I'll scoop it out with my tongue.
sure Faerie. I'll scoop it out with my tongue!!! GROSS
this conversation is going the tubes fast...GROSS!! : )
that makes me want to rebarf.
going down the toilet!!
hi everyone!!
Hey EB!!! Welcome to the sweathogs.
mm used a word (sort of)
Hi EB -- great icon today!
one can also re-pass gas (since we are in to potty chat)
I did not it isn't in there. Oh poooppieee pants. I bet the 4 letter one is isn't it? That's what I get for working backwards. SORRY:-((
thanks ch!!
What? I have a long tongue! People always tell me I have a potty mouth anyway and I wouldn't want to soil my nice clean hands.
lol mm --- it's there top and right!!
<<crawling back into my lurking cave>>>>>
Squeeeeeeeeeeak
awww mm crawl back, we'll play nicer
that's what I get for trying to be funny. hehehheeeee.
Yes MM, sorry for the toilet talk. But Faerie made me do it!
hey I'm laughin' my head off
The toilet talk doesn't bother me. It's me saying a word I didn't think was a word that *bothers* me.
Anyway gotta go take care of some business. May or may not be back later. Thanks for the thoughts everyone, it means a lot.
Take care Capone. Give TSM a big hug from me. Hang in there!!!
bye capone...{{{{hugs to Toes}}} for us!!
(((( TSM & capone ))))
Later Capone!
later Capone brb
Faerie /Squeak /points and LOLz @ Faerie /runs for cover before she hits me with a frying pan.
Time to fold another load of clothes. Be back soon.
ba 7/36
an 5/10. have the one that sounds like a vegetable and the one that sounds like a river in egypt
ba7/36 is more (ier) than the ba 6/6 above it
The other an5 sounds like a command to get down on your knees. (change one vowel)
any clue for the EN6...?
an 5/10 --- To give extreme unction to (sounds more like an + the slippery snake like ocean thing spelled wrong)
en6/21 - looks like a foreign word - add the 'film' type ci4 but change the last vowel
en 6 is the one who en 4's
oops that was the ea 6 sorry
en 6 is a type of oak tree
an 5/10, i think i have the one you all are talking about. there are 3 right? i have 2.
te 8/50 anyone??
There are 3 an5/10
yes there are 3 an 5/10
bluegirl there are3 in total and 2 that are very similar in sound, look at the clue haz gave,
Good Morning, and how the heck is that last br4/6 even considered a word???
hi knutmeg!!
that is what we are all thinking knutmeg. new pic of your daughter?
Morning everyone.
Yep, a new pic, took it a couple nights ago while she was playing with her new activity mat. Its totally redundant of me to mention, but this dictionary is seriously messed up.
G'mornin' Charm...
Hey, EasternBlue.
what an adorable baby girl.
Knut - awwwww how sweet.
Hi EB :)
hi faerie....
Thank you for saying, I think she's definitely the most adorable baby out there, but then, I'm biased. :-)
okay....this always happens to me. one word to go. ar 5/12 - AND I CAN'T FIND IT!!!!! Help!
te8/50 - First three letters - a number -, second vowel, then Scottish hillside (br4/6)
ar + 2nd vowel + 3rd vowel + c
Don't panic - you form of verb to be, then almost frozen water
thank you thank you thank you faerie and haz :) yippeeeee! i'm done!
CONGRATULATIONS CLIFF !!!
You're welcome - I could feel the frustration!
GM Everyone! I'm new to this, doing okay, but trying to catch on to the lingo (i.e. en6/21) Any suggestions?
Welcome! The best advice is to click on Angelsong's babble page (under Friends of Babble) and you'll find lots of information there.
nm, goes wtih the stats board only pro users have, correct?
ty Haz
No - anyone can access it, or indeed lickety's clue page.
Sdcts - you should be able to access Angelsongs Resource page scroll down to rules of game and read that then under links click on 2 letter word list and take Licketys Babble clues. Great info. in there
en6/21 = en 1st & 2nd letters then number of letters in the word and then the total point value. It's the way we talk about words and ask for clues. As Haz says, do have a look at Angels pages, they are full of hints and tips.
woo hoo cliffopa!!
Hey Haz, how are you getting on with the grid this afternoon?
Anyone got a clue for the f630?
Hi, FMitch - I'm getting there! I'm on 141 so a few more to find. Incidentally do you share the indignation about br4/6? - I'm quite happy with it.
brain dead here. a clue for the ri 5/12 please?
like anthrax - it's a deadly substance
hiya hurshy!!
ri5/12 - first three letters of President Nixon's name, then preposition
hi auntie, how are you?
LOL i think of it as a usual word, maybe cos I've been using it so much this winter!!!
I must be going around the wrong curve. I thought it was that, but I can't spell it here.
fe6/30 - first letters as for iron, last three, part of produce of paddy field
still trying for the f630
last one to get....EN6...any clues??
Thanks Haz. It was right there before my dumb eyes :)
ooh ooh
Hey all back from taking Gwyd to school... gorgeous day today don't think I'll play here too long!
still trying for ri 5/12 I cannot get the correct order of letters for anthrax type of item
en6/21 - add old fashioned name for place to view films but take out 'em'
ri5/12 - add first three letters of ***eplex
ri 6 -- A poisonous protein extracted from the castor bean and used as a biochemical reagent. or what saddam was supposed to be hiding
ri5/12 = 1st 3 letters what grows in paddy fields + op of out.
sorry ri 5
and they used it on the Japanese subway, but I am brain dead today and can't get the spelling right, grrrrr
Shoot, I used the wrong c. See what I mean by brain dead.
haz...appparently I am not that old...need another clue...lol
Thanks, Mitch. You people clean my brain.
Merk, start from the bottom r, make a triangle over the c beside it, then head to the corner of the next row up and finish with the letter to the right
back again. Knut. She is sooo incredibly cute!
o'chita - it's not old, it's normal...starts with a c
Maybe the simplest way for en6 is to say add ci4/6 but change the last vowel?
That she is =^..^=
Sorry ci4/5
got it....DONE...anyone need a clue?? Just for you hurshy...lol
:) :) :) :) :)
WTG OUW
ci4/5...ci + opposite of off
BRAVO Ouw!
afternoon babblers!
Are there tons of "ic" endings? The bottom left corner of this grid is a mess!
There are certainly more than one or two ic endings.
Why is Fannie a word :(
prob fanny
ea5 and ea6
just got the 6
Looked it up in the dictionary Fannie is a word/name
morning, all!
I even know a few people with the name Fannie actually.
proper name, I guess Faerie thats why it's not allowed
Hi Sonipits :)
Yeah - it is an old Southern name though...
ok, can letters be used in the same word twice?
if there are 2 separate boxes - but not the same box over again
Well I'm off for a bit, husband's day off today so i probably won't be able to make any serious dents in the list until after he goes to bed tonight. See everyone later!
then how is earner a word
Later Knut (x) for Baby Knut
bluegirl - have you had breakfast today? in which case you have ea5.
i haven't! i'm hungry.
why do I always think I'm going to get to stay home and enjoy the grid and then something happens? I have to go make a delivery. Be back later.
thx FMitch. should have seen that one.
bleugirl - please don't post the words... but it is because you use 2 diff r's to make it.
See ya Music :)
ble - re the 6 if you start from the top e you don't reuse letters.
normally i wouldn't post the words, but there are two E's in that one, and it only touches one unless I am crazy
bye musicmom...
i c it now. sorry!
Who provides the "Lickety" list (out of curiosity)?
licketysplitAUS
Bluegirl - No prob...we've all been there at one time or another. Or wait. Let me speak for myslef. I've been there and done that. LOL
bunny - it's Mr. P's hubby - Licketysplitus....
Lickety is MrPresident's husband.
sometimes I type a word in and it is accepted, and it still takes me a couple of looks to see how windy or obscure the letter trail is.
Thanks. I like that one, being able to type in the words and check them off.
I looked on BA and didn't pay attention to the fact that those are still yesterday's stats...starting getting really confused...oh man!
oops. meant started. not starting.
That's me finished - I'll stick around for a bit for clues if needed
Spellit - CONGRATULATIONS !!!
yeah Spellit!
How many words are there today?
162 words 2337 pts today
Thanks!
what does :) :) :) :) :) MEAN PLEASE
:) smile
rosalind - those are smiley faces. look at them sideways.
rosalind - it's a series of 'sideways' smilie faces!! : ) or 8 ) or 8 D
thanks hurshy and easternblue see it now it is explained
8/ or (*^_^*) or {{Rosland}} hugs :p tounge sticking out
a clue for the IN10, please?
in 10 is a hot way to go
in10 to burn to ashes
thanks! HOW could i not have seen that? =8-)
any docs or nurses here? my sister is having sudden inexplicable numbness in both her legs...what could this be? what should she do?
Not a doc, but that almost sounds like something my friend had...and it turned out to be diabetes...
The be 6/24, meaning to cut someone down, is that the third or fourth be 6?
Oh Hurshy - I don't know....
sudden numbness on one side can be sign of a stroke, but I don't know that the same is true for both legs. Could be a circulatory thing. What's she been doing?
she's only 21
Good morning/ afternoon (delete as applicable) everyone!!!!!
{{{Movieman}}} Hi.
morning Movieman!
she doesn't have very good nutrition...i've been worried she might get diabetes
is this an urgent "this is happening right now and we're panicking" thing, or is this more of a "this has been happening lately" inquiry?
she hasn't been doing anything weird...if it were right after she got up i'd think she slept in a funny position maybe but it's not
bunnyvicious - it's the 5th.
hurshy - she should go to the doctors...too much speculation on what it could be might freak her out...better to know that the doc can run necessary tests, etc.... {{{hurshy}}}}
hurshy, without getting too personal, birth control pills can sometimes cause numbness in legs. i'm no doctor, but i have been told that by a few
right now panicking. she's afraid she might be driving and not even be able to brake now.
TY Charm
Hurshy - she is in a car driving???
she's not on birth control... i hope she can drive to the doctor
She should go to the doc. Call a cab if neccessary.
YES! it's scaring me.
Bunny I make that be6 the third one
TELL HER TO GET OFF THE PHONE AND CALL 911!!
Tell her to get off the road right now...
Have there been any clues for the in 10/77 ... a clue to the base word after the suffix or something.
Any clues for ar5/12?
in 10/77 = burn up
she's in the middle of a traffic jam
merk in 10- a verb. something you can do with garbage
in 10 to burn clue given earlier
ar 5/12 - ar + rearrange the letter for frozen water
then she needs to dial 911 right away.
yes, get her off the road, call a friend or the hospital or something. Could just be a pinched nerve, but if she can't feel to brake a pinched nerve is as bad as it needs to be to be a serious problem.
Thanks.
i'm telling her to get off the road ASAP
she has a friend who is a nurse... once i know she's safely off the road i think she'll call her.
Hurshy she needs to asap.
Beautiful clues, thanks so much
see if she can get out and maybe stand against the car when she pulls over. if she's been sitting in traffic, they could have just gone to sleep, especially if she's been hunching or doesn't get a lot of exercise to begin with.
Bunny - be6's 1 Hat 2 carrier 3 overwhelmed 4 Tony - US singer 5 rebuke
ty spellit, I'll work on em!
it started before she got in the car - i don't know why she would drive in those circumstances!!! anyway she's pulled over now and i've told her to call nurse friend and/or her doctor and ask what to do and then let me know what's happening.
thanks all.
{{{Hurshy}}} Thank God she is off the road.
(((faerie))) thank you :)
yikes hurshy -- ill keep your sister in my thoughts! hopefully its not anything serious!
i do worry about her health, she eats so much junk
best of luck, hurshy, keep us posted
i will - thanks, you guys are always so great
I share your concern, hurshy, hubby's the same way - sugary cereal, white bread, candy, soda, chips...the works. Makes me sick with worry sometimes.
I was in the car with my Sis Linda (she was driving) when her blood sugar dropped and she nearly scared me to death. She passed out at the wheel of the car. But I managed to get us off the road safely and gave her juice and peanutbutter crackers when I got her to come to.
psychopuppy-think of a rain container minus its last stick. Or, if you have ba6, take away its last letter.
XXXXXXX - lots of crossed fingers and toes - hoping for a simple pinched nerve or low blood pressure.
well i'm glad it wasn't any worse faerie!
Hurshy - she keeps juice and peanut butter cracker in her car at all times so thank goodness I knew what to do. I just hope it is not serious with your Sis. She is in my thoughts and prayers. As well as you Hon I know you must be worried sick now.
thanks faerie. i'm not TOO worried since i know she's off the road now and i told her whatever she does not to drive again. get friends to come get her or a cab if she has to.
Thats good. I just hope she listens to you and doesn't try driving again.
she won't.
i mean she won't drive... she will listen :)
ok
sounds like the two of you have a pretty good relationship. That is always nice.
i have 2 great sisters. this one is the youngest - she just graduated college last year and we've started getting closer since. i'm really glad she now seems to turn to me for help... the other day she had a financial crisis and she called me then too
That is really nice. I have 6 sisters and we are all pretty close for the most part. I'm actually closer to the ones closest to my age than the older ones but thats alright. The older ones seem more like Aunts to me for some reason probably because they were already grown up and married by the time I was born LOL My olders Sis is 70 (half sis) and the one closest in age to me is 49.
that sounds like my dad's family, he's the 3rd of 9 (makes him sound like a borg, i know)
I have no sisters. =( I have an awesome brother though, and foster kids come in and out of my life all the time, so not lonely. But still wish I had a sister...
My Dad had one daughter before marring my Mom then togather they had 8 so...Mom was preggo from the time she was 17 until she was 42.
that's a lot of preggo! on the plus side... not many periods.
I have 4 sisters...I always wanted a brother - altho one sister has been with her husband since I was 13 - so it was sort of like an older brother!!! : )
Psycho - foster children can make great friends. But I know it doesn't make up for no Sis :(
LOL Hurshy - I'll tell her that. See if she can find the humor in it. She is a wonderful woman 88yrs young.
EB - I have 2 bros and didn't like either of them until I finally grew up. LOL
They are cool...some are a bit disturbed, but I think it's made me more compassionate as a person, growing up in that environment. Also, it's sad when they leave and you often never hear from them again. But it's great making a difference to people's lives.
I'm an only child and can't imagine what it would be like to have siblings. Also am from a fairly small family so few cousins and they don't live locally. Isn't life interesting!!!
*Joins in with the conversation* I'm one of two "children" (if you want to call my sister & me that)...... My sister is 31 (32 in September), married (she went to the same school as her husband), and is a nurse at the local health centre...... She also happens to be one of the nicest and most supportive people I have ever had the good fortune to have in my life.......
Psycho-My Sis Joann has 4 children of her own and fosterd for about 10yrs. Turned into a nightmare for her. So I know about the disturbed.
Fmitch - I couldn't imagine not having sisters!! life is funny!!
{{{FMitch}}} you have one Sis and no Bro...awwwww well thank goodness you have all of us.
movieman - that is a lovely thing to say about yr sister!
excue me no Sis and no Bro
(joining in) I come from a 'well divorced' family, so I actually have 1 half brother, 2 stepsisters, 5 stepbrothers... and my half brother only has 1 half sister, 1 stepsister, 1 step bro. But we all call ourselves siblings, even though we weren't raised together.
Yeah Faerie, some of them can be a lot of hard work. My family have fostered for 24 years now. My dad was fostered as a kid and had a really horrible experience - he wanted to make sure at least some kids had a good time in care.
Movieman - you sound like a good Brother *grin* *pats Movieman on the back*
I am one of eight also I am a twin
I have one sister. She refuses to admit she will be 37 this year, mostly because she's dating someone a couple of years younger than her. She looks like she is in her 20s - seriously. She's one of the smartest people I know (but her sense of humor could use a bit of tweaking!). Hate to interrupt - LOVE hearing about everyone's families. Any clue on the TE8? Thanks.
Exactly, FMitch, I mean apart from my mother & father, she has been the most supportive towards me ever since I was diagnosed with Asperger's 7 years ago......
gee, rosalind, taking a cue from hurshy, what would a twin be in borg-speak? :)
before we all melt into too much of a babble fest ((((((big babble hug))))) to all babble buddies.
ch-you got me confused. So it is a good thing you guys just call yourselves siblings. LOL
((((((Babble hug)))))
what does borg speak mean?
((((((((((Adds to Babble Hug))))))))))
((((all))))) rosalind - it's a star trek thing
sheepishly digressing ...does anyone have a clue for cr 9/60 - it's driving me batty. apologies for the interrupt.
(((joins the babble hooglification)))
cr 9/60 dresses worn with hoops
te8/50 - number, second vowel, Scottish hillside (br4/6)
oooh thats a good word psycho - wonder how many points that would score in the grid!!!
{{{{{{{{{{squeezie hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}} just had to join in the love fest!! 8 ) ros - 3 of my sisters have twins...!!!
I dont follow star trek
cr9/60 - think of wide hooped skirts - what kept them wide and hooped.
i don't think anyone should ever feel bad for asking for clues just because there is another conversation going on...
ty
((((((((((((((( :) )))))))))))))))))))))
HAZ! my heroine - you keep coming to my rescue. Thank you! That's me done.
well... the borg are these half-organic half-machine collective conscious group...they are not really even a race because they assimilate other races, so a borg could have been anything originally. they're real scary.
Hurrah for charm!
great clue haz as always
woo hoo charm!!!
whoot Charm *~*~CONGRATULATIONS~*~*
WTG, Charm!!!!
well done charm
wow auntie, twins really run in your family!
found it ...thanks again for the clues!
thank you. thank you. <blushes>
Congratulations
congrats charm :)
hursh - indeed they do!! I love 'em all!! 8 D
rosalind, adding to hurshy's explanation -- when a borg identifies themself, they indicate their numerical designation in the collective... such as "7 of 9" ... so I was wondering what a borg twin would be called :D
EB - I'm the youngest in my family so with 6 sisters they taught me everything I could ever want to know and of couse things that I never should have know. LOL
7/8
ch - it's only our human way of thinking that makes twins have a special relationship - i bet they'd just be like any other members of the collective :)
good point, hurshy
i specialized in borg psychology at the academy
LOL hurshy
Hurshy, I'll let you experiment with mine, see if you can get em to clean their room after you add them to the collective, would ya?
Also, I'm part of a rather large family, (my mother was 1 of 5 children), so I have lots of cousins but, like FMitch, none of them live locally.....
gotta run...catch you later!!!
well, they would no longer have rooms, just regeneration pods, bunny
(thank you fmitch, i thought that was rather a good one myself)
I need to get some lunch and run a couple of errands so I'll be back a little later on.
That works, I need an office!
bye faerie - thanks again for the support
Bye faerie!
I'm sure your instructor studied under Picard at some point -- there is noone with more insight.
... and from that you can tell I have Trekie ish tendancies
but bunny, if your children were borg, then they would try to assimilate you too, and that's no fun
absolutely ch - talk about going where no one has gone before!
hmmm, I dunno, I doubt Borg's could be nearly as messy and hectic as a house with five kids, and of course the sixth, my husband.....
bye fraerie
just had a thought, could we get the borg to ascimilate the enable dictionary - therefore making it work for the collective i.e. us (so we get decent words etc etc) LOL
well borgs are anything but messy and hectic, true... but... they are no fun
br 8/50 ?
but...would Borg's be allowed to Babble????
absolutely not. babbling is futile.
the br 8 works off of the br 7 before it, more of br 4/6
br 8/50 = more of br 7
LOL
ROFL love it!!!
borg do not do anything non-utilitarian
BRB
*sigh* don't have br 7 yet either ...working backwords.
actually fmitch - seems to me the inconsistencies of the enable dictionary might be a way to bring down the collective!!!
the br 7 has the same ending as the ta 6/18
oooh hurshy - you are way ahead of me there, yr on a roll.
that one i actually have ...searching.
if only riker had been a babbler
<----drooling
you're not drooling over riker, i hope... :P
Can anyone help with ba 7/36? I kep coming back to it but am getting nowhere!
ba4/6 + make it more so (common ending, but strange word)
ba 7 - more of ba 4/6 (like the purple dinosaur)
Omg, I'm such a ditz. Thanks folk!
and OOOOHHH yes!! Can't deny a man with facial hair and a lop sided, cocky grin...
seriously? what the heck kind of a word is that? farm kids get into a fight over whose ba4 is ba7?
Can anyone assist me with the words from the 4th row..... Either they're really obscure, or they're really obvious and I'm just having an off day....
oh, bunny... but he's so full of himself. i can't stand a guy who's so sure he can get you into bed.
Lmao. It's a new word. Still in trial stages. Haha. It is awful though..
LOL, I was thinking after all the purple dinosaur we watch, my girls are more ba7 than ever..
movieman - the r is showed an episode over
what's the word total for today?
I like em with attitude (or my husband and I wouldn't have been married for 11 years!!).
There's attitude and there's arrogance. I'm afraid I agree with hursh on this one..
162 Carrie
162 words today, most of them decent/fun ones.
thanks very much bunny. Got about half as per usual.
picard is the man for me... that speech he gave in "the drumhead"...ah, i love a man with strong moral fiber
I must be shallow..I like his accent...
one of the n's is christmas
Thanx for that r word, hursh..... Now I just need help with the n's and the i in the middle of the 4th row......
i have that i but am having trouble sorting out which one it is...hang on
hey - my maiden name is in here!! le 4/4!! : )
oh, movie, it's in+charged atom
ne 6/18 - to make more tidy (like the ea 5/10)
Thanx again, hursh.....
sister update: nurse friend is taking her to the emergency room
=( I'm really enjoying myself but have to go to work now. Good luck everyone!x-x-x
I'm back and just in time. Thank goodness Hurshy.
hurshy - glad to hear it!!!
Movie, I think the I you need is in5/10, like the veggie you chop that makes you cry?
Hope your sis is okay, Hursh. (((((((((((((all - but mainly hurshy))))))))))
bye PPuppy!!
Bye Psycho
Hursh aided me with that one, bunny, but thanx anyway....
bye and thanks puppy :)
do you have the left i there movie, cause i don't.
back to my salad. lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, boiled egg with lite ranch dressing and a side of club crackers. Oh and cottage cheese with peaches.
good for you faerie :)
Can someone help with the an 7/32?
Hursh - the i left of the 4th row=colder.....
oh how fishy!
an 7/32 -- add the ending with 2 pt tile to the veggie an 5/10
Trying to eat veggies. I don't eat veggies very often. Just a cheeseburger for lunch almost every day. Plain cheeseburge nothing on it.
I'm a real health nut can't you tell. LOL
thanks ch
we do what we can, faerie :)
hursh - did you see my clue for that i......
Living alone can suck when it comes to eating. I don't like to cook for just ME. So I eat burgers and mac and cheese alot. Or somedays I just don't eat at all.
yes movie - that's why i said oh how fishy!
Could have something to do with why I'm so skinny. Not healthy skinny, just boney skinny.
faerie - i don't live alone but i have the same prob cause my husband eats in the dining hall a lot, and i am not crazy about the food there
be 6/24
Yeah, but Faerie, I sure get sick of cooking all day every day for 7 people!! I'm out of original things to cook, can't ever make everyone happy with one meal. Be nice to hear "Hey Mom, that was really good!".
Don't you hate that Hurshy. I actually love cooking but not for one person.
i have the one that sounds like a name and the one where you talk bad to someone
Hursh- just checking!!!!!
I'm struggling with a fa 4/7 word, which bugs me. Who struggles with little ones. It's near the end of my list.
Bunny-I should share some recipes with you. and Angelsong has tons of recipes. Easy stuff and different.
morning kids.
hi boreetos!!
en6/21?...any clues please
Hi Boreetos :)
fa 4/7 is a homonym of the word meaning ' to fake'
bunny...try peanut butter chicken. it's yum-oh. saute garlic and chicken in oil, add chicken stock or broth and simmer with a bay leaf. add enough peanut butter to make it nice and thick. you can put in whatever veggies you want, broccoli goes well. serve with rice.
be 6/24 - small cap (builds off b4 before it) be 6/24 - at a funeral, pall be6 ( build off b4 before it) be 6/24 - someone who has been hit repeatedly (build off b4 before it) be 6/24 - name, Tony Be**** be 6/24 - to verbally cut down, be + scoring system
sounds yummy Hurshy. I'm writing that one down.
It sounds good, but I can't have peanuts, allergy.
ci 6/27 clue please? (I'm presuming the following ci 7 will be related)
en 6/21 - en + word for theater without the em (from Haz earlier)
oh, sorry bunny. faerie - adding actual peanuts to it also is good, gives a nice crunch.
Hey all... I have returned!
hi Jera!!!
Thanks hurshy! I love peanut chicken but had no clue how to prepare it. I'll try your directions.
thank you bunny
ci 6 - add onto the ci 4 before it with opp of new (minus l) .... add vowel for the 7
fa 4/7. I think I used that "to fake" word for the top of my list. I am at the bottom and have the easier 4/7 words found. It has to be one of the bottom two, I think.
{{{{all}}}}! I'm awake (ish). ready to look a bit more. got to 81 words last night before my eyes crossed...
Hurshy - was just wondering about that I could use the crunchy peanut butter. I'll dig out my recipe for "peas and peanuts" for you sometime. It is more of a salad but is very good. And I don't like peas.
hi stidmama, cute icon
got em. thx bunnyvicious
EasternBlue, that is a cute icon! I didn't have the patience to something intricate last night.
hi stidmama, the theme today must be cards? or poker?
stid - you drawing your own icons too?? : )
thanks, bunny -- got it!
poker!!! and doesn't anyone but me have a favorite pro player?
Hi Jera :)
I drew it this morning...it doesn't take long...(less than 15 minutes)...
See, I can't have peanuts, I have to stay away from red Dye for Eycsis, cheese for the twins due to const., and pretty much none of them will eat anything green....
thanks hurshy -- yes, EB, i'm trying. you inspired me!
Yeah!! I love it...!!
that IS challenging then bunny!!
how do you draw your own icon what do you use?
okay, time is limited with the kids and spouse home all week, so i must *focus* at least a little bit. :-)
those were some weird c words!
Hello everyone
rosalind - I use paintbrush....I save as the .bmp first (in case I want to make changes) and then I resave as a .jpeg
hello TSM
(((( TSM ))))
hi TSM!!! hows the expectant?
(((TSM)))
Toes!!!!!!!!
(((TSM))) i've missed you.
boreetos...no...
I am still working on fa 4/7 bottom of the list. Not the one that means to fake.
I'm gonna go ahead with this one too, took me forever to get it cr 9/60 - cr + third vowel + opp of yes + draw a straight ****
Pork Chop and rice casserole - brown your chops - mix a can of cream of celery soup 1/2 cup milk 2cups water 1 cup dry rice Mushrooms canned or fresh chopped mix all togather bake for 45 mins at 375.
{{TSM}} Hi Hon...
i'll brown YOUR chops. :)
((((( faerie, ch1212, bunny, easter, stidmama, hurshy, boreetos )))))
faerie - that's very similar to a chicken rice casserole i do! :)
TSM, are you at work again, or still home?
Be back in a few - it's mealtime!!!!!
I use Cream of Mushroom, put shredded cheese on half of it after it's baked for awhile.
I just came on to pass out some hugs and say thank you for all the kind words, well wishes, and prayers. Really means a lot to me... and to Capone... thank you :)
later movieman...
I need some good cajun recipies, gumbo and dirty rice.
Bye Movieman
is he doing okay? he was sad the other day, but didn't say why. :-( i guess now we know.
No no I don't want to work right now. I am home. I pay go back in another week. I want to just get on with things and stop being angry.
we all are holding you and capone gently and lovingly in our hearts and prayers.
tsm, Oh, do you and Capone know each other? :)
wait, did I miss something? What's going on?
I am going to fly down and see him this weekend if I can get a last minute flight. I need him right now. Capone should be ok. He is upset but he will be ok
yes, TSM, take some time, and then do what you must to get on with life. (((more hugs, and a few tears)))
boreetos, check the babbler anonymous general messages...
boreetos - she lost the baby...
TSM - go to Babanon - general and see whats new for you and Capone.
boreetos... TSM is no longer expecting.
in 6/27
I have to go. thinking too much. :(

Oh gee, the fa was passing gas! Sorry to have bothered you.
Toes - I didn't know... hugs & prayers for you & Capone.... (((((((((((Toes & Capone))))))))))))))

Had to step away, TSM, I'm so very sorry.
Did you get my e-mail about why men wear clothes?

Later Toes (((x)))
Boreetos - don't feel bad. You didn't know.
I'm on break too. Later all.
bye boreetos
Bye
faeriekae -- don't leave me hanging! why DO men wear clothes?
Bye to those who are leaving...
*looks interested in why men wear clothes*
Stidmama I would have to email it to you. Pics. Too funny.
seems pretty obvious to me...
Me, too, faeriekae...
email at the bottom of my profile... :-)
Hurshy - your right. there are dangers to going naked if your a guy. LOL
ok
well - that and... nobody wants to see it!
*chucklling in anticipation*
men wear clothes because nobody wants to see them naked. women wear clothes because men always want to see them naked.
hurshy -- you are lucky my 13 is in the kitchen, or i would have to scold you... ;-) (males are so sensitive)
i want "coin" to work, but no matter how many times i monkeytype, it doesn't take!
*teehee* Stidmama it is on it's way.
boreetos - no hun its ok.... you didn't know ((((boreetos))) (if he left please make sure he sees this!)
lol - apologies to all the sensitive men out there. there are a few of you who look good naked... :)
stidmama--you could mix it up (the co 4)
Hurshy - we think alot alike. *grin*
thanks, badcat, _that_ worked! :-)
TSM, will make sure boreetos gets your message.
i think innie should count - as in belly button
Told you I'd be back!!!!
OK, I better get, see ya'll tomorrow.
Bye Bunny - happy cooking.
hurshy--and ninnie too! (after all, who hasn't been one at some time?)
bye bunny!
well, ninnie i can see bc i think it is ninny. but i would spell the belly buttons innie and outie - inny and outy just don't look right
te5/10 anyone please?
faeriekae -- that is just so funny! even Tom thought so. :-D
this grid is really messing with my head
its ok ...just got it
Stidmama - thought you would like it. LOL
any clues please for the 1st re6/27
Hi stid, got hold of the computer for half hour, have you finished yet
Hi Mo!!! re 6/27 to touch again
Hi all, back for more fun and games! Hurshy, I like Gus Hansen too. and also the Russian kid...
hi scatty LOL far from it! I only got on a little while ago -- overdid it in the garden yesterday, so slow this morning.
Schroeder Hi! thanks for the clue ...have been struggling with that for ages! so easy too!!
chic! someone who knows who gus is! :) :) russian kid... which russian do you mean...?
No problem Mo, I had issues with the first re 6/18....
Hi all.....just popping in to see you all.I have read about TSM ,so sad.
I can't think of his name he always wears dark glasses and a light gray jacket....I watch poker on the travel a lot...
hi caitlyn -- yes, did you also read there's a thread on BA for her? she knows about it...
Back from running to town. Boy you all got wild while I was gone. Nekkid men and all- sheesh.
oh yeah, i know who you mean now. i was afraid you meant that really annoying pudgy guy who's so full of himself :) ...although i don't know if he's russian or something else eastern european
Hi Caitlyn!
I tried to post a message stid but cant seem to work it will try again later
brb - gonna put my chair on the porch so I can babble outside.
i love the unabomber and howard lederer and daniel negreaneau and doyle brunson etc etc etc
musicmom... :-D you should know better than to leave us on our own!
parental supervision --- I left you and gramma in charge stidmama
*blush* but, mom! you didn't _say_ that!
i heard there's an O8? would not say no to a clue...
Hi Everyone :) I think we need a few more C's, N's, I's and R's in this grid :/
hurshy! i am shocked and disillusioned! *must find chocolate*
Well as with my own family I just assume somethings are understood. <shrug>
I like the Phils and Daniel too
what did i do?
sorry, mom, i'll remember next time
asked for a clue! oh the pain of it all, my idol has fallen!
the ol 8 builds from the previous ol's has to do with unsaturated fats it's the adjective...
Hurshy, extend from your ol 6 and 7
the phils do tend to be good... ivey, laak, and gordon that is... NOT hellmuth
um whats up. you guys acting again while MusicMom was away?
I could use a clue for the last in 5/10 please.
it was your fault faeriekae! you started talking about nekked men, and now i'm in trouble with musicmom!
ok, a) i ask for clues all the time, i think you have been under a misapprehension, stidmama and b) i don't have the 6 or 7 either...was hoping they related to the fat...will look harder :)
ahhh this is the life - sunshine, porch furniture, dr.pepper, last fm and babble friends. It doesn't get any better than this.
that should have read were you guys acting up while MusicMom was away?
((hurshy)) I would help if i had them... only just found the fat myself!
who me* looks around confused :)
girls girls don't make it worse by fighting. I'm not *really* mad. Just sad I came in at the end of the nekkid men.
you never want to be talking about naked men when mom walks in.... =)
argh i am so stupid today! luckily i still have the cold to blame for it...
I don't have them either Hurshy. I had to go driving around in my stupid van instead of sitting at my computer.
Nakked men are ok. Sometimes.
Hurshy, I called my hubby at work to ask him about the young russianan dhe can't think of it right now. I know he thinks I'm crazy...;-0
from now on when it comes to re words I'm asking for clues. I need the last two re6/18 please. I'm sick of looking for them.
MusicMom-check your e-mail here in a couple of minutes.
if my mother walked in and saw me talking about naked men, she'd -still- wonder what i was doing.
I don't even care if you have to give me a whole ocean full of fish to go with them.
it'll come to one of us sooner or later
Hang on i just took a phone call and now there is all this talk about naked men!!!
The last two re6/18 - the first one is used to set cheese, and the second one uses the same four letters to start and a preposition (not out) to finish
Okay faerie I will. I'm looking for something from my mom too.
Hi all - back to finish last few words - but don't you all seem to have been having an interesting time? Please don't stop now!! [ Aren't holidays great - I've just spent 4 glorious hours in a nearby village pub - lunch, don't y'know(!) with 2 mates! Great!
hope I sent it to the right address Oh My...
chic - try looking up world poker tour winners and see if you see his name on a list... all gambling sites firewalled here... :(
still stuck on the o's... for the 6,7,8 do i use the whole 4 (fat) or do i only use part of it?
Dippnall sounds great!!! Can you still see the keyboard? LOL
i have one O 6 but don't know if it's the one you mean
who cares?!
ol5- ends with German for 1 (-s) ol6 - add a vowel to the 5 beyond that I can't figure out
Not me (im jealous)
yeah those are the ones i have too vi, then i 'm stuck
For the ol words, try Spanish word shouted at the end of a dance, then a fish body part. Keep adding endings!
perfect, haz, that got 'em done in a blink!
thanks Haz. The last one I was trying to make with 5 letters instead of six.
Aha, Haz, thanks. The others also have to do with fats, so I was confused.
Haz, those worked for me, too!
I just did google that and another; still can't find him trying something else...brb..
I need the last io word io 5/10 please
Glad the clue worked!
does the br 8 have anything to do with the br 7?
Faerie - add the first part of Mr Cage's name.
ack there is a br8? I'm working backwards.
who is Mr Cage?
leigh add an extra vowel
thanks caitlin
Sorry - try the saint upon whom Santa CLaus is based.
you know faerie, the actor - it could happen to you, conair, face/off, snake eyes... gosh he's been in some dumb movies
Mr Cage is an actor - Captain Corelli's mandolin, formerly married to Lisa Marie Presley.
I'm not a movie goes...haven't watched in movie in years. Sorry.
the family man... captain corelli's mandolin... um.... what else?
he was married to lisa marie? i didn't know that!
city of angels
ok - thanks you two got it now.
I always meant to see that mandolin movie.
It Could Happen to You....
Yes - it lasted about 4 months.... She hasn't much success with marriage!
he should do more like "it could happen to you" he makes a good sweet romantic lead
i am going to have Nightmares toNight
what was the movie where he was a prisoner being released...on a plane, but he was really (deep down) a good guy....???
conair, auntie
con air?
ok so actually I am missing the in 6/18 then I had the 5/10 already...sorry.
i never think it wise to name a movie after a hairdryer
I have off from school today!
ah, yes! thank you!! (that's a bit of a d'oh!!...prisoner = con...planes = air)...
Hey I did see Conair and that was a good movie.
hello FredandKate
Whahhhhh I have ADD today. I absolutely cannot focus.
Hi there FredandKate
hi stidmama
i know, i just think it was an unfortunate title choice. face/off, on the other hand, is the pinnacle of stupidity. travolta and cage have competely different bone structure (and BODIES for that matter!!!)
Hi Fredandkate why are you home from school?
soooo clues on the in 6/18 please and thank you.
in 6/18: that which occurs naturally; in + man's name
I don't know?
stidmama thanks
brb = going to check email for faerie's message
help please on the fa 6/27 that is NOT the person who moves the air with a fa*. Please and thanks!
li 6/18 is the last one. i have the math expression, more line, and the one that looks like life spelled wrong
well, I tried at the travel channel profiles. Nada! I like Paul Darden too and Annie Dukes.
I'm suprised no one has the dogs playing poker...
fa6/27 - yet another variation on the teary vegetable!
li 6/16 - small bird
me too, did you see that one where annie beat all the guys in that invitational tourney??
thanks, haz --- jera, movieman does but he left.
faeriekae has dogs, so did someone else earlier
LOL Faerie -- you are toooo funny. Love the basketball and cactus move.
(Bird ends with what you catch butterflies in, by the way)
Yeah I do.
How old are you all?
life spelled wrong...life spelled wrong... hmmm
How old are you FredandKate?
FredandKate -- VERY old! except for those who are very young...
FredandKate-very, very old. How old are you?
Older than you, FredandKate! :)
Please, can anyone help me with an/7,32?
hurshy - why are you using that word in the log? <G>
i'm not terribly old yet! i'm 21.
LOL Stidmama
OOPS
Sorry, i don't remember that one. I like Gus's style and he's one lucky son of a gun!
giggle
hurshy, reminds me of that great poster: 'hukked on phawnix reelly tot mee to reed!'
No one laugh now but I'm 10.
leigh -- I was including you in the very young category (though as I recall at the time it didn't seem so young...)
So is that 5 for Fred and 5 for Kate, or 10 apiece?
hi all - FredandKate - no one's laughing, I think it's great that you're playing this kind of game!
but... if it has an f it can't be a 6/18... i am puzzled
FredandKate-no one here will laught at you. Are you finding any words?
hell, i'll take very young. i dread growing old. don't get me wrong, i'm sure it's fabulous, but i have a fear of turning out to be like those people in homes who can't do anything without an aide...
i have 56 words left, my sit-upon is tired, and the sun is out again. time to take some pictures of the irises and tulips that bloomed yesterday!
Yes! My dad, Fred is a master at this!
Not laughing - just old enough to be your mother. My 11 year old plays sometimes. Enjoy.
there's a 4 letter meaning preferance ("I'd as li--") and then add onto it for a 6.
Music-did you get your mail?
ok, so it's not 18 - that explains it! thanks vi.
(And it is a 6/27)
hetty, take your an5/10 (veggie type) and add the ending that has a 2 pt tile
....so you must be the "andKate"...welcome!! : )
My 2 granddaughters like to play FredandKate and they are both 10 enjoy playing the game
Does anyone think I'm COOL! If you do think I'm coolsay yes!
yes I did === love the cactus and basketball stint. hehehehe
fred and kate... reminds me of fred and ted... any other "big dog, little dog" fans here?
andKate, anyone who plays Babble MUST be cool!
FredandKate - I think you're way cool - but I'm 28, don't know if that's cool or not....
Yes
oh you're cool alright...
don't make fun of me hurshy
hursh - the dr. seuss book?? big dog, little dog. red dog blue dog yellow green dog ...
(at least, I hope so, because then I get to be cool, too!)
lol@Fiz
i did not make fun of you... i honestly love big dog, little dog... i made my sister buy it for me for christmas
no, not dr. seuss, p.d. eastman
andKate - yes!!
Music - I thouht it hysterical.
I have to go byebye!
All I know is, if I'd started playing Babble when I was 10, I would have been *all set* with the SATs...
Hursh...I didn't remember a fred & ted in the dr. seuss version...I thought I was forgettin' something!! (altho' it's been years since I've read it!!)
Bye FredandKate join us again sometime.
oh dear, bye fredandkate - i hope you're not leaving bc you thought i was making fun - i really wasn't!!!
bye andKate!!
Bless you, 1212
Just kidding!
For some reason, no matter what I try, I can't seem to find the third br 4/6 at the end of the list. i have the spoiled kid and according to dictionary.com, the type of old european weapon...help please?
Im going now...happy babbling all . catch you all tomorrow bye
EB, you're thinking of another favorite: One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish -- that's Dr. S
Bye Caitlyn
leigh - do you have food that is good for your colon?
last br 4 - daft word - very cold
leigh - it's the word used by people in books to indicate that they're cold. The jury is out as to its acceptability!
bye cait
leigh, you're probably missing the non-word you exclaim when you're very cold
Who ahs brown hair say I
leighperfect, that br4/6 is b + 3 consonents in a row.... that's right, you read that right...
fred and ted were friends. fred was big, ted was little. fred always had money. ted was always broke. etc etc
yup. have it.
i have reddish-brown hair
Do you have the Scottish hillside - vowels in unusual order?
help me please I am going insane ... i am missing an fe 4/7. it is one of the last 2 fe's i have the fe (feast one) clues please before I feed myself to a pirhana
thanks haz, vic, and ch. i don't agree with it, either. if we can't use indian and the likes, we shouldn't be able to use that!
I have brown hair. But when I'm online I pretend it's much more fun - maybe green and purple stripes...
I need a break from this so I'll be back alittle later on.
ch1212 - isn't there a dog one like that too?? oh...how forgetful I am!! kate - I do (with a spattering of grays...)
Greek cheese (fe4/7)?
bye faerie
EB, not sure... just remember the fish one, which might have mentioned a big dog, little dog in it. The Dr. S books were my daughter's favorites when she was little.
I have brown HAIR!
ha haz i bow down to you in awe ---- 1000 TY's
Anything to save you from those fish!
haz - how about an e at the top - i have e + lo4...
actually you saved the fish from me --- i am sure i am not very tasty LOL
hurshy are you still on?
yes, i'm here
Extend that el to make an el7/28
hurshy try putting an er on the end of the one you have
ah, ty
that takes care of the vowels!
Is the kind of light the last ne4?
Yes it is.
thanks haz
can anyone help me find some words for playbabble!
fredandkate...did you want to ask me something before?
YES! HELP ME FIND SOME WORDS!
fredandkate - 2 good animal words today. Think Wizard of Oz: Li**s and tigers and be**s, oh my!
ah :) - ok, well how about some good kid-friendly words...ba4 - to throw up, and fa4 - to pass gas
There are quite a few words beginning with b that you should be able to find. These are all four letter words beginning with b An animal (grizzly or teddy) A vegetable (baked or green) A cereal A spoilt child What people say when they're cold
And, FandK - in 3 years you'll be a te**(ager)
thank u Haz1558
Four letter words beginning with f What is on the end of your legs A word spelt differently but sounding the same as above A word that means scared Greek cheese
okay hurshy - when you were saying the li word was it because you were looking for the 6? If so I will go back in the log for my clue.
Oh, and if you're ten now, last year you were ni**
I know that TheFizz that is so easy to know
yes mm, it was indeed
Well, exUUUUUse me. Br4/6.
be back I"m swimming backwards.
thank you hurshy for being on my side
on your side? there are sides? what is going on?
The Dog book was the same one I was thinking of...but it's not Dr. Seuss...wow!! I loved that book too! : )
Hey, no sides in Babble. We're all just trying to have fun!
Am I missing something on the last ba 4,6 word? Nothing works.
Go, Dogs, Go?
oh good auntie... sometime when it's quiet in sudoku chat i'll read it to you :)
*snicker*
Some four letter l words This word goes in front of guard, or time or sentence Another animal A straight one of these is the shortest distance between two points
nevermind you are just a bad person.
I thought you liked me hurshy
merk- it's an italian word for good, methinks...
fredandkate - i am very very confused.
Vicuna - yup! but it WAS/IS part of the "Cat In the Hat" series...hence my confusion...!!
Merk - the last ba4/6 is an agricultural building.
oh hurshy ... not upsetting poor little babblers, are you :P
Anyone else feeling like *someone* in here might be pulling our legs?
not intentionally ata! i don't know what's going on!
Can someone tell me how many words today?
Yes, it's part of the Easy Reader series, as is Cat in the Hat, but many of those were actually by P.D. Eastman. Are You My Mother, and A Fly Went By and among his masterpieces.
Ooops. Misread Merk's question. Gah!
My favorite page is the one where all the dogs party up in the tree!
I love Are You My Mother!
Haz, I have that one midway up. I need the one that comes after the 6/24 a woman who cannot conceive children.
Maybe FredAndKate is one of those FBI agents posing as kids to catch those child pronographers? Like how they caught that treasury guy?
Not really a natural habitat for dogs, though...
Vicuna - me too!! : )
Mark - it's a homonym for bait
let's have a Babble Tree party!!
Yoo hoo anybody, how many words today?
Wrong place for that, I think - unless propositioning someone for Sudoku counts. I'm having a hard time keeping track of my civil libertiesthese days.
last ba4/6 sounds like what you use to go fishing or send in your tax return to get your re****
bwahaha *hugs hurshy*
162 words today
162 words today
I love go dogs go. Hannah just learned to read that.
162 words
ty hurshy!
Good idea, EasternBlue! You got a good tree?
beak - sorry - 162
thanx
and haz
*peers outside window...only sees other buildings as EB is actually at work & there are no trees around* uh, not right here...
Alas, I don't have any good climbing trees, either.
I have two great climbing trees. Everyone come here the weather is fine.
brb
Babble tree party at Musicmom's!!! woo hoo!!!!
I'm making cheesy baked potato soup for dinner should I put more on?
MM - I'm in - I'm stuck in the concrete jungle with EB and would much rather be climbing trees! Nothing like it to make you feel young, too (until the next day when you're sore and feel really, really old...)
Everyone head to Ohio! Wheee!
Siggy - definitely!! I'll stop by the store & pick up fresh bread...
cheesy baked potato soup mmmmm!
FredandKate - are you coming over for tree climbing and soup?
sounds great. There are still GS cookies for dessert. I have iced tea and coffee. Out of wine and beer at the present but tree climbing and alcohol could be a lethal combo anyway.
I'll bring chocolate. It'll only take me 16 hours to get there.
Watch out, Fiz, the FBI agents are watching!
... and seeing as we are in babble world us Brits will be on the next concorde over so should make it in time for dessert if thats OK?
vic - we can play tomorrow too<G>
Vicuna - I can be there in 12 - I'll save you some.
cheesy baked potato soup? omg that sounds divine!
Yikes, Vicuna, I forgot. Only with parental permission and/or supervision...
Fmitch- certainly!! Vi - we could carpool - I'm in West. NY...
that's fine FMitch -Albany has a little airport.
Okay, in Babbleworld, I can grab onto the tail of the concorde as it flies over!
Concorde's been put out of service, no?
ah, heck - let's go trekkie style - beep those transporters & we can be there in seconds!! : )
Not in Babbleword, Une!
sounds good, EB!
You're right, it has - very sadly as it was such a beautiful plane.
*hurshy is a little afraid to chat now but...* cheesy baked potato soup does sound yummy
Let's do the matrix thing.
Good call EB! why let reality hold us back?!?!
fraid so Uni, it was a sad day. or how about Dr Who's Tardis?
That's the spirit, EB. Anything is possible! (Except finding that last pesky word!)
ACK EB = if you all beam in I won't be able to run the vacuum in time. Especially since I still have over 70 words to find.
vacuum...schmacuum...true Babble friends don't notice dust bunnies!! besides...they're in 'season' now!! LOL!
Beam the dust away, MM. (Just hope it doesn't cross paths with the incoming partiers.)
LOL
I'll have to go - happy hunting!
bye haz!
bye haz
bye Haz...
Bye Haz.
bye haz!
Farewell, Haz.
Any New Englanders around? On the kids books topic - the Eric Carle museum of Picturebook Art outside of Northampton, MA is a great place for those with little ones. And they've got a great bookstore.
yes new englander, and i love eric carle, saw him on mr. rogers!
We're outside of Boston, Fiz, and my kids are just the right age to go now, but we haven't made it yet.
Fiz I'm nowhere close but I would love to go there. We love Eric Carle.
i'm back -- bye haz! hi all!
I'm from Pittsburgh - Mr. Rodgers actually was my neighbor when I was a kid - talk about cool.
wb stid
fiz you are so lucky!
Just to get in on the tree-climbing act--we have superb CLIMBABLE TREES here on the West Coast of Canada and I'm making French Canadial pea soup for dinner--only a few hours flying time from WA or OR
I cried the day Mr. Rogers passed away...he was a great man!!
That's funny, Fiz. Did you know him?
i'm from new jersey. nothing cool happens in new jersey.
any help with the li7?
jon stewart is from new jersey
Well - my partner and I make the trip from RI a couple of times a year, and we're not exactly the target age group. But who doesn't like a museum where you can color?
leigh - the BOSS!!
Watch out, Hetty, or the whole lot of us will magically/sci-fi-ically beam down on top of you!
Bye Haz. Thanks for the help. I'm finished, too. Whew! Not as bad as some days, but my brain wasn't functioning at top notch today.
Sounds good to me Hetty!!!!
mr rogers is my real-life hero -- taught me so much (and many others, I know) -- he wrote me a real letter once when my boys were little. i still read it when i'm having a bad mommy day...
Leigh - what about Bruce Springsteen?
so are bon jovi and bruce springsteen. and me. hehe.
Bravo Merk
i'm tired of hearing bon jovi on the radio though. and anytime you ask someone from jersey who their musical influences are, they usually say one of the two.
Woot I finally have over 100 words.
ah, Fiz - that's what I said too...plus, I'd love museums where you can color!! someone recently mentioned the CRAYOLA museum (I think in PA)...I'll have to check that out sometime!! : )
hetty -- how "west" (and north) are you? BC? or Yukon?
*rocking out* OHHHH, we're half way there, Oh OH, living on a prayer...
EB I want to go there too. (crayola). We visited the traveling crayola bus at the state fair a couple of years ago. Terrific.
The crayola museum is in downtown EAston, PA. It's pretty cool. Hi everyone!
dunga dunga dunga dunga....(background sounds for Fiz)...
ah!!!!! i'm going to go bon jovi crazy and did someone say crayola? oooo......
I love John Stewart!
Crayola museum? Where? I've got to drive across PA at the end of May - my sister's graduating from Oberlin in OH - and that would be a perfect stop.
*running to get paper and crayons* when we're tired of climging trees, we can draw pictures!
Finished! Hurrah! Have to pass on supper, Musicmom - but off to pub - again (hic!) ;)
li7?
YAY Dippnall!
Bravo Dipponall.
Congrats Dippnall!!
oops dippnall
The crayola museum is in downtown EAston, PA.
[thanks for the backup, EB - it made all the difference]
ah yes...it was Deutsch!! woo hoo Dipnall!!
FMitch, I love the sunset -- it's got gorgeous colors!
Yea, dipponall!
And nice work Dippnall! I'm too chatty to find any words today.
i think teef should be a word -- "all i want for crismas is my too front teef!"
Thanks Stid! Am very into sunrise/set pics.
Leigh I used to live in NJ and that's why I don't any more but you know 'Stephanie Plum' is from NJ and that's cool!
haha ! I found the 10 all by myself.
Do share, MM!
to burn trash vic.
We are in B.C. (Gulf Islands, next to your San Juan Islands) and as I write this I am looking out my window at the Stuart Channel--part of the Straits of Georgia. Our oak and cedar trees offer similar views over the water. Now back to the French Canadian pea soup.
Hey Chic, I'm from NJ too :)
ooh, nice. Thank you!
yw - do you have the li 7?
fit, what part? I grew up in Bergen Co and then went to college in Camden...
any clues for the in10?
No, sorry. I was hoping to eavesdrop on the clue you requested.
i know where you are hetty! I grew up on the southern end of Puget Sound. my parents' place looks over a place called mud bay (for obvious reasons). haven't been to BC in years, but it's lovely. Pea soup... sounds like a good thing for today!
fit - to burn your trash
Okay - nobody's listening to me<G>
chic, bless you. It's so easy once you know :)
MM - I think they thought you were talking about NJ...
Sorry MM - I have an le7 and an li6 - but no li7
fit you have me cornfused with music, I think look back down in the chat
LOL
not making much progress... going to go eat something and get some bean soup started for dinner. later, all!

Seems to be soup night tonight.
li4/4 + past tense of having comsumed food = li7/28
thanks Mitch!
yr welcome musicmom
Yep vic. In my case, soup was the bribe to get my daughter to eat her pork and veggies last night.
bbl, have to be domestic now...
Thanks.
bye chic
Hey I'm having cheese and bean enchiladas!
Okay - I swaer I put that in several times and it told me it wasn't a word! Thanks!!
I've got to go, too - tonight's the first night of passover. For any Jews on the puzzle - next year in Jerusalem!
Chic what part of Bergen Co? I'm from Westwood. And I think we had this talk already...lol
bye, fiz!
I don't know what the heck I'm having. I wish dinner would magically appear...
bye Fiz...enjoy passover...
shalom fiz
capone, I'm from Ocean County...Jackson
Bye, Fiz.
Hey capone, I lived in Maywood, and my sympathies for you and toes...
Vi - if you like Matzah and pot roast you're welcome to join us - we've got 22 already, what's one more?!?!
brb - the bus is pulling up and rug rats are spilling out.
Capone - (((hugs)) from me too...I didn't realize earlier...
Jackson eh? Not one of the Whites I hope?
gee Fiz, I only have 12 :)
Thanks, Fiz, I like everything. The only hitch is, it wouldn't be one more, it would be 4 more, 'cause I've got to feed the rest of my family, too. :)
Ok, ok, really - but Fit, if you want some of ours we'll send them over...
Thats right Chic, I remember now. Thx for the kind words.
i'm from midland park, and my grandparents live in washington township
No thanks Fiz. I forgot to mention my daughter is bringing her doggie too. So we are 13 :)
(sorry, i was taking my dog out to piddle!)
good luck with the puzzle, all - I hope you in 10/whatever the heck out of it!
happy Pesach, Fiz
LOL, My grandparents (dad's side) had a home in Washington Township...and Emerson...and hell about 50 other counties before they finally moved to Palm Bay, FL. Moms side migrated from Jacksonville, FL (grandmother), Staten Island (grandfather) to Westwood in the 50's.
small world! we lived in hillsdale for a year or so when i was little and i'm in westwood all the time. it's so busy nowadays though!

yw
Yea I went back to Westwood in 2001 for the first time in years. The house where my Mom and I were born in on Roosevelt Ave has really changed a lot since my grandmother sold it and moved back to Jax in 1980. My mom finally got back up there 2 years ago after not being there since my grandfathers funeral in 1979. Now she can't stop talking about moving back.
Anyway gotta run, again. Might be back later.
Tell her there's plenty of houses up in WT for sale. But warn her that taxes are getting a little high in Bergen County.
bye capone
capone - r u still here? LOL re jacksons
I just got a 60 point word! Woo hoo!
leigh - r u in bergen county?
bye all!! gotta run!!

hi sandr - hi everyone - sorry - play intermittently during work breaks : !
i'm an iha graduate
i was very saddened by TSM's news - if u see her please give her my love
i know a few people from there
sand - she was on about 1- to 1 1.2 hrs ago for a few minutes- her email address is in her profile. we will tell her.
sandr - when I heard about TSM - couldn't help thinking about you guys ((hugs))
i have a b and a t 8 letter word - which am i missing please?
Hi faerie, T-Owl, musicmom, FMitch and anyone I missed :) Looks like an interesting grid today
TO you need an ol 8/60
Hi Mac
{{Macuser}}} Hi.
mac I don't think it is bad. I'm just being ADD about paying attention and doing it.
ok = i nknow it comes from the ol5 but i don't know how - seems i have monkeyed every combination
hugs to all who need them! am listening to some top tunes and they are making it impossible to be sad for long!
Hi mac, it's one of the nicer ones we have had in a while - enjoy it!!
oh goody, macuser's here!
Thanks :) Glad to see a B in the grid again - nice for a change
Hi hurshy! :)
okay TO, start out with the 1st 3 letters like all the others (except for last ol 4/4), then think of what Morris the cat was when it came to food, only chop off the ee sound at the end.
hi!
and chop off the k too
Not doing very well today. I need a little help from Babblers Anon but no stats there for today????
great clue, pokey - and i got two for the price of one! : D
need the other in 5/16 of the two. i have the in to make a conclusion...anyone help?
you know temple, if the cat in your icon gained about 10 or 15 pounds it would kinda look like morris1
try licketys babble clues they are very good
hi kids.
Hi boreetos :)
hey boreetos. been a while.
boreetos - TSM said to be sure to tell you it was ok, you didn't know, etc etc, and give you a hug
cliffopa, im here just about everyday, only at breaks though, which constitutes about an hour a day. It's easy to miss people when I'm hardly on. :)
is anyone else loving the last br4/6? it made me smile
thanks for that Sandr I havent found Lickety before
thanks for the message Hurshy, I felt terrible. The People have got to warn me about stuff like that!
Deeha - look under liketys babble clues and you will get the states there. If BJ doesnt post then lickety does.
hmmmm - still missing two 7 letters
i tried... but i didn't know how to do it subtly yet clearly... that was what i meant by "boreetos...no..."
leigh - I need that in 5/16 as well. I have the one you do.
i see. Well, I am dense and sometimes don't pick up on things.
How is TSM doing? I was so saddened to hear the news :(
me too boreetos, very much so. i sympathise. tsm seemed...well, like it's been hard. she said she had to get over being angry.
the other in 5/16 has to do with a color sort of , think in + the first 3 letters of the country where paris is located
i have an7; br7;ci7;fe7;fi7;le7;li; and te7 -what's missing?
thanks cliff
Anger is a normal emotion... it's part of the process
pokey: that is a prefix, not a word...*sigh*
do you have the el 7?
of course, macuser. it's just hard to watch someone going through it and not be able to do much to help.
oh well...44 more words left. i'm going to have to try to finish later! see you later all..
or the ol 7?
don't underestimate the power of moral support, hurshy, I'm sure knowing that we care helps a little. At least I like to think it does.
I know hurshy... in situations like that, one feels so helpless
just got ol fromt he 8 - not the el though
well i know it helps me with my tough things, boreetos!
I agree. boreetos - I know in hard times, my friends have been there to help pull me through - it does help
if you have the el 5/10, it starts out with that.
me too. Hey, so I'm looking at Babblers Anon, and what is right there on the front, A big friggin red flag that I should have seen warning me of the sad news. I am really dense sometimes.
just to let you all know that when i went through it 6 months ago - reading your kind and thoughtful posts on babblers anon made things , if not easier, more bearable. You are all a great set of people - you hear so many bad things about people - its really nice to be brought up short and realise the good every now and then.
boreetoes - my two best friends in college were paragons of sensitivity - i used to say that they were like fine-tipped markers and i was like a big fat one - i called it "fat marker syndrome"
if you don't have the el 5/10 it is: e + 4 letter word meaning The part of the body of a human or quadruped on either side of the backbone and between the ribs and hips.
sandr..:) hursh, i like it. It sounds like something a psychologist might think up.
well, i was a psych major! :)
on a side note, one of my best friends in college went to Europe for a summer and cheated on me. I call it Lying Hoe-Bag Syndrome. :)
I don't know whether to lol or not boreetos/
oh dear... that is a very different kind of syndrome... i'm sorry boreetos
its cool to laugh, that was a long time ago.
boo
ok :)
the rest of the el 7 has the same 2 letter ending as the ba and br 7's
it happens I think, something about Europe does that to people.
the last be6/24?
thanks cliffie! : )
be + the last ra 4/4 "to scold"
lol boreetos!
ty
yw
sandr: i am glad if it helped even a little...i know when it happened to me no one would talk about it even my mother
The 1st be6/24....?
i have ol 6, 7, 8,5 , 4, 4 which o am i missing ?
what a brownie scout wears on her head. be6/24
movieman: if i tell you, will you keep it under your hat?
be6/24 type of hat
Temple Owl - it helped alot. You never get over it, time just teaches you to learn to live with it. If you need an ear I am here.
there is an ol 6/27 AND an ol 6/18
i dont have any of the ol's so cant help. sorry
sandr: it was so very long ago, i am good..i have come to accept. everyone so often i do wonder - but i do accept. time helps that.
oooh - need that ol6/18!
if your good, then I'm good - now give me a clue for the ba7/36 (lol)!!!
ol6/18 what is shouted at a bullfight + opposite of out + vowel
sandr - more of the good stuff for your colon. the 8 is even more of the good stuff for your colon.
ci6
Sorry, everyone, I meant the 3RD be6/24.....
you are trodding down the be6 path.
Whoops!!!! Made another cockup!!!!! The 4TH be6/24....... I'm not on form tonight......
ah! good clue musicmom :)
add a consonant to the 5/14 before it. anyone with a clue for the ci6?
its amazing isn't it? That a group of otherwise strangers with a single thing in common can culminate in a friendly societylike this? Good people banded together based on little more than a recreational activity. One that can be there for eachother in such a familiar way, much like a surrogate family. It's for these reasons that I come back and babble everyday. It's all of us, the babblers that will join together and suport those of us going through a rough patch, even though most have and probably never will meet each other in person. That's something that gives me hope, strangers treating eachother equally, looking past cultural differences, and progressing as a group. If only more circles could be this way, maybe this world wouldn't seem so bleek. In short...you guys are awesome.
sueq?
hear hear boreetos :)
ci 6 = 1st ci 4/5 (1st 4 letters meaning another name for movie theater) + 1st 2 letters of a word temple needed at 2:58 pm.
Well said, boreetos!
too true boreetas MM - I am searching for that one meself

Temple, my goodness, I grew up in Maywood and went to Bogota High! It's a small world in babbleland!

nice clue cliffopa!
Gotta go for a while folks. Time to put the soup on the stove. 23 words left. I hope to be back later for them.
more than 1/2 the times when i ask for a clue i am able to find the word before anyone answers. so i ask more often now :)

Movieman, it's very, very cold. What do you say?
i have seen the last br in other puzzles like boggle
That last br4/6 is just RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!
it is the most ridiculous word yet that i have seen in a babble puzzle.
heh heh
Ja, das ist richtig!
Hi everyone
i;ll bet a similar gr word is also acceptable - we;ll have to remember to try
ridculous indeed
Hi katie - love your moose icon :)
Hi Katie!
might be ridiculous but i bet it made you smile!
chic - may i ask waht year you graduated? or should i just tell you when i did : D
:)
Movieman, ever seen my movie?
chic, what is your movie? it looks familiar...
H.S. '64
My dad was so incensed with the br word he broke the cardinal rule and told me on the phone what it was...however I had to agree that it was never a proper word.
I mean, what if you're playing Scrabble and that br4/6 is amongst your rack of letters? How often are you gonna think "Ooh, I know, I'll try that br4/6 that was in that Babble puzzle the other day?".........
It's 'One-eyed Jacks' with Marlon Brando... very goood..
me? '68
clues for the last br4/6? i'd like to partake in this convo!
graduated from Rutgers South, Camden in '69.
T-Owl - we're about the same age - graduated HS 67 here
Chic - in answer to your query, no I haven't, although I have heard of it..... Wasn't it the ONLY movie that Brando actually directed?
Great! 'oldies but goodies' unite!
I'm just a baby...'78 for me
not sure about that one Movieman..
AshtangaGal - sound you might make when very cold - no vowels in the word
babbler's anonymous has yesterday's puzzle up. how many words today anyone?
Chic - I've just checked the imdb, and it was......
bonkler - 162 - if you want the stats try licketys babble clue they are good
It was beautifully filmed and Karl Malden is a nasty baddie.
bonkler - go to liketys link instead. 162 words today
LOL - not that anyone asked but since I'm stuck with college kids all day - you all are making me feel young... I graduated in 1980. Most of the kids I work with weren't even born yet....
can some kind person start me off on the ol's - i can't see a one
thanks!
Ash, last br 4/6 has now vowels. just keep repeating 2nd letter.
oops - that should have said no vowels
sandr, think margarine, unsaturated fats
sandr:Try building on the first 3 letters for a term relating to margarine
some of the ol words also contain things a fish has that help it steer
if not into fish - a frogman might wear it on his feet
en6 plz.....
thanks cliffopa - just got the ol6/27, now...mmm
movieman - there was once a 1992 movie named en***o man. change last letter to another vowel.
Movie, en + ci 4/5 (1st) drop last vowel and add first vowel
Thanx all.......
sandr, for the ol 7/40 add a vowel to the end of the 6/27. for the ol 8/60 add the 3rd, then the 1st letter of my screen name.
jeffer... you on?
seige yep
how you?
great have 146 but have to go soon
Hello Everyone.
Hiya, cyber....

anyone have a clue for the fe 6/30, please?
162
Hi NAn!
siege the green links on the right - Angelsong gives stats
thanks...
fe 6/30 "Of, relating to, or containing iron, especially with valence 3 or a valence higher than in a corresponding ferrous compound."
chic, it's hot, stir the air
chic - the latin term for iron (the first four letters) and then the past tense of to eat.
OH! sorry Chic that's with the a not the e
that's the fe 7/40, I'm looking for the fe 6/30.
So am I Chic
fe6/30 fe + double consonants + almost frozen water
Doh, couldn't get past the other 'r'. Pass the freakin' fish!
btw, thanx...
You're welcome :) but I don't think it's deserving of the fish
ExWren - I love your icon, many times I have yelled those words out loud!!
I'm with you chic, I hadn't seen that other r Thanks macuser
You're welcome, ExWren :) glad it helped!
It's good isn't it katie. Jacula designed it for me.
any clues for the cr9? Please!
Hi everyone
Hey mac, what we used to put under our poodle skirts!
Hi scatty!
lol, thanks chic, I just found it the minute I asked
OK. I've just one more word to get. It is a br4/6, probably the last one
Help.I can't for the life of me work out your marvellous clues for fe6 amd fe7--not enough iron in my soul I guess. Please, cybernan, can you help a fellow Canuck?
br 4/6 noise you make when you are cold.
what you say when you're very cold - no vowels... no kidding ;)
macuser, think Victorian and hoop skirts

ci 6 = not yours, but **** - swap out the first letter + not new but *** minus the last letter
I think that's ci 4/5 --- I'm missing the ci 6/21?
lol, marymary.....and hi, macuser! :-)
cybernen, I don't know which of the 4 b6's you mean, but for one think of the Pride and Prejudice family, for another a small hat you used to wear, for a third what happens when you give up (because you are *****) and finally what you might have done in return to the person so churlish as to take a stickto you (your being the sort of person who eschews violence) All these long words come from thinking about Jane Austen!
te 8/50 please?
Hi Mikey, my friend didn't show up yet!
sanr--Latin for shadows-- there are services of worship using this term at this period in trhe Christian year
Thanks, dirtster -- got it -- apologies for jumping the gun!

For you, ex-Wren, strong fellow feelings and my blessings on you both
i don't know...i haven't heard from her since she was on her way to the emergency room. probably she hasn't found out what's wrong yet or she would have called.
ah, well ERs are tediously waitish places.
hurshy - what happened to your sister? if you don't mind me asking?
indeed.
I imagine if it was life threatening, you've heard by now. No news, good news and whatnot.
mac - for no reason all of a sudden this morning her legs went numb. then she tried to drive to work and realized this might not be such a good idea, it was getting worse and what if she couldn't feel to brake or something? so she called me. i asked the advice of the gang and we got her off the road and a friend has taken her to the ER.
oh my! hope it's nothing serious!
yes, i think so, sonipitts.
we'll just have to wait and see, mac!
point total for today, please?
hello again.
will someone tell me if en 6 is related to en5 or if it's another ball o wax altogether? Not that I would turn down a clue, mind.
And I can testify to how slow ER's are - I was in one last year about this time and was there for over 7 hours!
boreeeeetos!
i know mac i took my husband in once bc i was afraid he had meningitis and we had to wait for ages.

good morning everyone. time to work.
en 5/10 = en + past tense of what you do when you devour food.

Cybernan: try the comparative form of "like an ice-cream" (only more so)
isn't it awfully late/ early for you scatty?
cybernan, ic5 is what stars often become (Hollywood kind) ... Bogart was an ic** of masculinity, whose roles became ic****
there are 2 leigh. one has to do with someone over 12 and under 20. other might be another name for the bill with a picture of thomas jefferson. both end with 2nd vowel and 6th letter of that president's name.
jeffer like bedsheets with a thrid vowel where the second vowel goes
Mikey - an is a negatively charged ion
thank you -- need that fish again!
yay bonkler ty!
mickey same as word above it(pungent veg)+ 3rd vowel +3rd letter of alphabet
there are il words?
y/w cybernan -- just returning the favor for the many times you've posted clues
bwahaha...done. thanks cliff and everyone!
no il 's
one li 5/10 is a cruise ship or ocean li***. another is what fancy people call their bedsheets. and yet another is similar to the russian guy who took over after tsar nicholas - just change last vowel.
waiting for tabs to kick in, been to bingo tonight and the chairs are really uncomfortable so i'm always aching when i get in
isn't it awfully late/ early for you scatty?
Mikey, if you have an5/10 all you need to do is add a suffix ("I see!)
oops scatty ignore that my connection is so erratic
let's all congratulate leigh. i believe she said this was her first grid completion. *clap clap clap*
I need the last te the te 6/18 please.

te6 you give me two sawbucks and i'll give you a te****
faeriekae - te - english money( notes) not a fiver of a twenty pond note, the one in the middle
thank you. now my mom's calling me for dinner sooooo.....i'm off. probably won't be back again until sunday (*gasp*)
farieake--it's what the Brits called a ten-pound note when I was growing up before the flood

The other ne4 at the end is the lights of the big city.
got the gas ne 4/4?
it is supposed to be a funny name. its my tshirt company. owlmovement dot com.
nope -- thanks, cliff -- fish has now taken up permanent residence with me.
li 7/28?
li7 - li4/4 + past tense of eat
ty vicuna
yw
ol8/60?
ol8 - make the ol7 into an adj (for the 7 add a vowel to the 6. For the 6 add a fish part to what you shout while flamenco dancing)
ol8: ol 6/27 + "like" suffix
ol 8/60 - having the qualities of ol 7/40
ok -- i give up! -- in 10?
A last desperate bid for help with fe/7 please. I have fe/6 but can't see what to add--?
in10 - burn trash
fi 7/40 please.
take away the adj ending of fe6/30, and replace it with past tense of eat
fe 7/40 = 1st 4 letters are same as the fe 6/30. then use 3 letter word for past tense of what you do when you devour food.
fi7/40 - having more of what fish paddle about with

bonkler - do you have the unruly child? the fiber good for the colon?
congrats, musicmom
got those ones, yes
Did anyone hear how tsm is doing?
do you have the one ending in two vowels that sounds like a donkey noise?
cyber she was on for just a little tiny bit earlier today. Said she is really angry
it is the second last br4/6 i'm missing (i think)
bonkler - that is the one that is br+you are **titled to that clue
hmm, okay, list making skills are iffy on my end.
any clues for the r word that start off the r just above the l (lower right corner)
music mom thanks for your patience. i've got myself confuzzled. the br 8/50 would be a nice teat though.
please add an 'r' to my last post in the appropriate spot :-p
beazus - maybe the re 5/14 = re + place where you go to have a drink?
musicmom -- the first part of grieving I think -- my son & daughter-in-law lost two -- one at 3 months and one at 5 months.
br8 is more fiberier than the other one
got that one already cliff ..any other notions (please)?
Yes I think it is perfectly normal to be angry cnan
how about to touch again? re6/27
thank you musicmom!
I tried to add my bit to the condolences, but it wouldn't upload for some reason.
re 5/10 past tense of a repeat of an episode on tv?
...searching. thanks for the clues guys.
first time on all day - is brandyjack's list not up? thanks
that tv clue got it ..thanks again!
haven't seen brandyjack for a long time -- hope he's ok.
I'm going to be on my way -- still have a few things to do before we leave for Alberta tomorrow -- back in a week :)
try lickety's joey
thanks cybernan and cliff. preciate the info
fi 7/40 ...there was a 'fish' clue given - didn't help me personally. any other hints/suggestions?
beazus, this may confuse the heck out of you, but here goes. the comedian i like best is fu***** than any other. think ha ha. okay, now, replace the u with an i.
beazus = fish have fi** that cover their bodies. A fish with more fi** is fi7
fi 7/40: based on three letter word that is what fish use to propel themselves through the water. Take the adjective and make it the superlative.
not confusing in the least! quite the contrary ...got it! thanks again to all for the clues!
Bye everyone :)
bye nan. have a good time in alberta.
can someone give me a clue for the fa 6 pls and ty
fa 6 = i am a patriot's fa* + an electrically charged atom
fa6...one of them is the fellow who keeps you cool waving palm fronds. i don't have the other.
the other fa6 is one who waves a fa- to cool down
ty bonk that was the one i needed
thank you cliffopa
ty cliff just realised i needed both fa' 6

ic = superlative form of the stuff you skate on
Hey cliff--I'm a Red Sox f** also! Sometimes more fa**** than others! Love the pain!
thanks cliff!
gotta love the pain if you're a red sox f**. just glad i got to see them win the series during my lifetime. if it takes another 80 or so to win again, i defintely won't be around :)
i bought my mom a new tv because she is a huge red sox geek and she was watching games on a 19" tv.
now i'm her favorite :)
the el clues anyone? 5 to go and my poor brane is trying to shut down.
e+your thigh area
el 5/10 = e + i love sir**** steak.
What a good girl, cliff! You'd be my fave, too! byw, they're down 5-2 as I write. But they'll be back! (she said hopefully!)

many thanks!
any clue for the fe 6/30 which i hope will give me the 7 lol
i never ever give up hope where the red sox are concerned. "there's always next year!"

For Christmas '05 the kids gave hubby a tee that says "There's always last year"!
lol mom! what a great idea.
fe6/30 describing iron

I am stuck on re5/14 Help pls!!
re 5/14 makes concrete stronger
pbr - re + place you go for a beer

faeriekae/sonipitts thanks - that one was eluding me. Just 12 more to go!!
help with last 2 please - in 5/10 (first) and re 6/18 (one of the last 2) thx
hi gang!
good evening!
do you have the re 6 that's what they use to make cheese?
oh hell - can't we get a troll with brains for a change? i'm tired and i have 27 words to go...
why does it say I've already used that word and I haven't
i have the re 6 with the double consonant in the middle
there are two re 6 with double consonant, one right after the other. one of them ends with the opposite of out.
Hi all!! -- Temple, I believe that would be an example of an oxymoron... with the emphasis on the moron! :D
stid - i don't know what they use to make cheese & with some cheeses i'm afraid to ask. i love cheese :)
that was it stid - thx , 1 to go
hi Woulf!
keep getting distracted. sorry. I just need to go to bed. Good Night All.
Hi shorty!! -- expect an email by the weekend :)
good night faeriekae, sweet dreams!
ok thank you very much GW

Sleep well, Faerie!! Hey stidmama -- how are you tonight? BTW, your son is an absolute gem to interact with! -- you've done a great job with him :)

night, helen!
So, do I dare to start?
te5/10, please?
nite faerie!!!! sweet dreams
don't know who all's online at the moment, want to give a heads-up about TSM's sad news if you haven't heard she is no longer expecting. There is a condolence topic for her that angelsong set up on Babblers Anonymous under "General"
:( Same happened to my brother and s-i-l last week.
aww my I did not know that awwww very sad
Oh dear!! That is sad news, indeed :(
dino -- so sorry to hear that. :-(
sorry to hear that, dino...
yes, TSM was online this morning when I was here -- she knows we know, and is taking some time before returning to work. I think this is why capone was sad the other day?
I am not sad. My s-i-l was not in the best of health. Maybe this will help them both realize that weight is an issue. Secretly, I am glad she lost it. That may be mean, but she's only 25, she has plenty of time.
Dissimilar topic, but good news to counter the bad here --- cross your fingers folks and send me all the positive energy you want, I was handed the official application for the company I am temping for :) It looks like perm status is in my future :D
ooh!! fingers, toes and eyes crossed. incense burning, chants being sung as i type... Woulf, that would be so wonderful, you are at the top of my job-hunt list!
Thanks stidmama :)
no wonder your wolf looks so happy tonight!
so I repeat my earlier query - Shall I jump in and start at this late hour?
last li6/18?
it's been a frustrating grid for me today, but i've been tired and distracted and headachy... there are some interesting twists and turns to it. Some people have finished pretty quickly.
Ah what the hey!! In for a penny, in for a pound.... *holds nose and dives into the deep end.... without swim fins even!!*
:-) then we shall sink or swim together! I have 36 to go, but nothing new in the last ten minutes... and only just started checking against Lickety's list
There are lots of fun words that we normally don't see in here!
desperately seeking the last li6/18...help?
Sorry Angel -- I'm pretty good but not there yet ;D And about to have to juggle feeding Seb as well :)
angelsong -- I don't know which one that would be! I have the one related to the opp of out** sanctum does that help?
*argh* yes, tired. angelsong, try a small bird. li + fish*** ,double the middle cons
making progress, 27 words to go.
back from clue diving - slim pickins...i have only two of the no;s - christmas and no4 contendere....does 'anyone have the third? (i miss bj's list) : (
Makeing progress here as well, only 100 left! -- have found nothing greater than 6 letters yet :)
looking for the same no** as well, TO! could also use help on the ens...
temple oil, the other no 4/4 is n + o** (can for the tin man)
Temple Owl...rhymes with aluminum fo**
OH MY GOSH GW didnt you just start?
i couda sworn i had tried that no several times... :-( bad fingers! no chocolate for them tonight!
Any one have the 10? I like to get it out of the way. Also if you have some good clues for the eights, all of us late folks would appreciate them.
yes, shorty -- but it is easy to type 4 letter words quickly
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE I just did that! YIKES! I didn't mean to type that! I meant Temple OWL.... (sheepishly ducks head under...)
stidmama -- no no you have it wrong -- if you deprive them of choc they will just let you down further in the future
Not for me Im a 1 finger typer
okay, jeewhiz, I'll try and clue the 10 without actually typing it this time ... if you put something in the trash to burn you in******** it.
gotcha, shorty -- I took touchtyping way back in high school -- playing babble (especially participating in the log) has honed my ability better than any speed drills they put me through back then :)
ch -- first good chuckle i've had since this morning when faeriekae told the nekked men joke...
Thanks ch1212! great clue and such a fun word too!
thanks, stidmama... the en6 is a city in California, by the way.
i dont think I'll ever catch on to typing fast been doing it for years 1 finger :(
Yeah, I saw that, stidmama -- I was passing by during my lunchbreak and decided that it would be safer for me to stay away from the ladies club when I saw that! ;D
hey everyone
cr9/60 hints ne one?
cr 9/60 -- someone gave this clue earlier: a type of fabric that women in the old South used to wear to keep their hoop skirts puffy...
cr 9: something women used to wear under skirts to help them stand out, sort of a stiff petticoat
truthfully, fast typing is overrated unless you are in a profession that requires it
hey talk!
true true!
Hey Stid! How goes it?
argh. double argh. blah, blah, blah. you know, the usual. you?
Hi talk! and Hi JeeWhiz! and Hi to everyone else who has popped up since I started :)
Wolf, I'm in school and typing at 60 words a minute helps so much!!!:)
hi and bye all -- I'm off to dreamland. Happy babbling
re6/a7 (first one) and 5/16 below it? 2
good night ch -- (still working on the clue, but will find it eventually!) thanks!
Frecke -- I consider going to school to be a profession. You may not be paid in money, but you are earning rewards nonetheless :)
night ch!
G'nite ch1212!! Sleep well and dream deep!
oops -- sorry about the typo, Freckle!!
okay Temple OWL -- re 6/27 - to touch something or have an emotion again ... the 5/16, take away one of the double vowels from the 6/27
When I grow up I hope i dont choose school as another proffession.
okay, now I'm gone.
Hey Grey! Ouch Stid, that good eh? I dunno, I might have ya beat, I might quadruple your argh's... and through in some Blah's too. BAD week
Freckle -- how far along into school are you?
Thanks ch1212. I got a phone call so I am late to respond with my thanks.
8th grade:), Y?
sorry to hear that, talk :-( the week hasn't been bad, but today has seemed interminable
thanks again ch!
Curiosity, Freckle -- also I wish to thank you for renewing my faith in those who follow me -- You are a special person to have an interest in word games and vocabulary when most of your peers are more interested in video games instead :)
We play boggle alot and my mom and dad thought it would be a good idea for boggle online... He's works with computers so he found this site and we've been playing for a coupla weeks.
Very cool, Freckle!! -- when I was younger we played boggle a lot as well --- my mother used to set up the board before she left for work in the morning and challenge me to find as many words as she did when I came home from school -- I thought it was great fun! :)
yay for tea!
Hi holly!
how many words are you at woulf?
Hello sir. How are the little people? :o)
hi holly! tea?
almost halfway Freckle -- 85 to go :) Holly -- the little ones are dong great -- Seb is being fairly consistent with his 6 hour overnights and Kristianna has entered the kiss and touch him whenever she can phase :)
hehe. We got our shipment from adagio today... so Joe hooked me up with some wonderful chamomile. hehe.
hehe. awww.
how come niner isn't a word?
okay, help please! I am looking for the te 4 that comes before the te 5/10 and 8...
Because the Enable dictionary - that Babble is based on -- Stinks!!!
stidmama, I haven't gotten very far, but are you looking for the te**phone or te**vision one? Or the misspelled color one?
JeeWhiz -- you are superb! that's exactly the one I was monkeytyping around!
Wow, superb? I like that adjective.
Beginning to slow down -- gonna have to go for a list soon -- past halfway now -- 80 to go :)
Woulf -- you're doing really well! with Seb there helping and all... :-)
stidmatt are you online yet?
en5/10?
Grey Woulf, I am glad to see you playing tonight. I always check your player ranking total score, because you and I usually stay within a few thousand points of each other. It gives me something to shoot for. See how inspirational you are to others? You, Minski, and Brandy Jack are all usually very close to my score.
Actually, Seb is now in his bassinet and has been for awhile -- he fell asleep on my shoulder so I put him down -- it's too hot to keep him with me tonight :)
Yup, I'm on. I am going to do extremely badly today.
that's okay, do your best in the time you have -- Freckle, if you're still there, stidmatt is my son, 7th grade
*blushes slightly* Why thank you, JeeWhiz -- I am flattered. I usually don't pay much attention to the stats, but I had to play tonight -- I wanted to share with everyone the fact that I may be made perm at my temp position fairly soon -- I was handed the actual application form for the company to fill out today :)
need help with the r's. need all ra4's.
How exciting for you Grey Woulf! That has to be so exciting for you and your family. Is this at the music store, or somewhere else?
okay, _still_ working on the en 5 and en 6, and _still_ no good. i'm going to drop off for a moment and go find a "resource" to help... BRB
stidmatt -- it all depends on your definition of bad -- I consider the fact that you are here to be a very good thing --- also I feel that you personally help to reinforce the great things about Babble by your mere presence. I am a firm believer that while finishing feels good, the real reward is in the striving :)
Hi Angelsong, use lots of r, l, and e for your r words.
I mean, I haven't played any yet today, because I have been playing with the dogs and music, and I am to less then ten, and I have done way better.
But, Stidmatt, did you have fun? That's what is important.
Jee -- my temp position is at a company that manufactures and maintains forklift batteries and chargers --- I am in the office as a Service Coordinator, which means that I am a dispatcher with lots of other responsibilities as well :)
Well, getting six words in two minutes makes me feel pretty good.
Okay, Angelsong, ignore my r clue. I was thinking you wanted r4 words, not just ra4.
six words in two minutes is really good -- I haven't had two words in the last sixteen minutes!
GW,wasn't one of your temp jobs in a music store? I was thinking that I remembered that from way back before Seb was born. Sounds like this job has promise, and probably benefits too. Congrats!
there you go, stidmatt -- take your victories where you find them -- before you know it, all the little victories combine into complete success!
Yup. Thats right GW.
And, anyway, it doesn't effect the destiny of the world.
Actually, Jee -- I never had a music position -- I still work at Lenscrafter's parttime on the weekends, but never music -- I was trying for other stuff before a friend recommended the temp agency
so how many words typically in these puzzles?
Okay, GW, I was thinking of Lens crafters...I don't know why I changed it to a music store...Oh well, sounds like you have an interesting opportunity.
no real typical # of words. Today's grid has 162 words.
ulti -- it varies, we have had as few as 31 and as many as 474! Typically the range is friendlier -- from about 120 - 230 :)
anone know who was booted from american idol?
aiyee i've got a ways to go ;)
*pout* no luck even with resource help. anyone want to clue me on the 2 en words?
Prince Charming? (literally)
But don't sweat it too much ulti -- if you don't finish this one, there is always tomorrows! ;)
Sorry Temple, I missed it tonight. Who did you want to go tonight? I still miss Mandeesa.
also looking for the te 8...
It was Bucky.
Stidmama, the one en sounds like a city in California.
The bottom three were Eliot, Bucky and Ace.
stid: en5 = related on maternal side en6 = live oak = or city in CA
I did think it was time for Bucky to go...
well, my vocab isn't huge - i could try all the permutations, but that wouldn't be so fun
ar5/10 pretty please? i am way past my bedtime!
I kinda felt that way too. Though honestly I don't like Ace. He's too "pretty" for me.
And Eliot's ears bother me.
re5/14?
I'm not shallow or anything. :oP
and it was tome for ace to go three shows ago! i am an elliot fan
I like... Tyler. and Katherine. and Kellie.
So what do you think about Chris? I think he is pretty cute.
I liked him better before he was growing his facial hair out... lol. But I do like him... yes.
ba7?
It is 9:13 where I am and I feel a little tired. See you tomorrow! (promise)
I like Elliott too, but his teeth bother me.
Grey, more of the purple dinosaur.
ar 5/10: ar + last three letters of a "baby bell" company
i like katherine also - taylor is an entertainer not a singer - although he did well on the ray lamontaine ballad re5/14 = iron used to reinforce concrete
I guess that's my problem... for all that he can sing... his look doesn't seem to be that of an American Idol.
good night, sweetie! how many words did you get?
G'night stidmatt!! Sleep well and I look forward to seeing you again! :)
I have a br8. Does anyone have any of the others?
of the 8s I mean?
i don't even have that one, Jee :)
ol 8: having to do with a type of polymer (the ol 6/27)
GW, for that one, add more of those br** flakes, and make it more of it....:)
and any amzing race fans? my coworker's son is on that show - i missed it
ol 6/27: ol + vowel plus arm of a fish
ol 7/40: add a vowel to the end of the ol 6
Hmmm.....stidmama....hmmmmm
woo hoo! I got the en 6... still working on the en 5...
stidmama, now you are talking my language.
64 to go --and not getting the ol's
uo pepz im back:)
okay, i know i'm not going to finish, but I would accept help with the very first word in the grid... an 5/10 according to Lickety
Sorry I have no A's today.
what does 5/10 mean?
I have 3 words left: need RE6/18 (the last two, and first re5/14...help?
5 letters in the word, ten points total.
relates to worms, stidmama -- do you have the 2nd an5/20 -- if so change the center vowel
S-mama~ an 5/10 + a + a river in Egypt
Angelsong, are the re6's the ones with the double consonant in the middle?
thanks. can u tell this is my first time? :)
re 5/14: what they use to reinforce concrete; go to the pub again
oops I meant an5/10 not 20!!!!!
need re5/10 - gave re5/14 about 5-10 min ago
thanks marymary, got that one, need the one that comes before that!
TO~ re 5/10 past tense of a repeated TV show
GW and marymary -- ty, got it. only 20 words left...
Oops- guess I don't have it :(
go stidmama go!!!!
ist re5/10 -oops
OK - what's the te8? and can I have easier clues for the ol's? Pleeaase?
ol 4: a type of margarine (the first type?)
have that, I meant the polymer ones :)
DONE! bbl
Grey Woulf, did you find the part of the fish that goes with the ol words? That clue helped me alot.
YAY TO!
CONGRATS TO!!!!!!!!!!
A KO for TO!
gw: think of a type of fiber used to make rugs - ol***pile - and you will find three of them - after the margarine - gtg
I'm DONE!!!
I'm going all muzzy in the head and it isn't working as well for me :\
Hi GW! It looks like it's you and me, here to finish the puzzle at the last moment!
and me :) although I know I'll not finish; started too late. Hi everyone.
What the spanish matador said ol* + fish flapper part=ol6
harp -- with 60 to go in less than 30 mins I am not gonna make it, but I will make it as close as I can :)
harp and zubie, me too -- I started at the flip, and still have 17 words to go! not ms. speedy today!
Jee -- that did it for me!!
GW: spanish cheer + fish part; add a vowEl to the same word; add third vowel +Consonant to the same word...
Okay, now add a vowel for the next ol
how about the te8 now?
I might make it, I have 25 to go.
No clue from me for te
YAY Angelsong!
en 6/21?
te8: start with a number + a vowEL+woman's undergarment (three letters)+ same vowEl.
Thank you Angel!
Angelsong -- you're an angel... (of course) got the te
Thanks Angelsong...that was a strange one.
any clues for the 2 bigger ci words?
En6: think of a city in California; ends in a round vowel
ne 6/18?
I don't know California! :s
ci 6: ci 4/4 + round vowel + tall cons
add a round vowel and stick letter to ci4; then put a spanish cheer on the end of the ci4...
be 6/24 and 5/18 following...?
en+ third letter+ opp of out+round vowel
ne4/7?
angel- for the clue you gave for en 6...it won't take it! I know what word it's supposed to be, but it won't accept it! Do you know if that happens sometimes? I tried refreshing, but it still won't go it!
stidmama, have you been be4 + suffix by this puzzle?
wassup, I did the same thing, change to another round vowel, the first vowel
JeeW -- not yet! I have that one, need the next one!
wassup -- use a different last vowel...
intead of a stocking cap, kids now call them a be****
stidmama -- think of singer Tony Be****
thanks, round LOWERCASE vowel.. :) I thought I was going crazy!
or a jumping be** make it cuter
