Q 7
Hi zubie!
oh dear, have we discovered a new babble word? (glip)
Ooops I mean Q7/40 sorry I'm glipping in my hurry, too. Nice new word, Jane. :D All haste shall be glip from now on
I do believe we have-- and we have you to thank for it, harp!! Glip!
glippity doo dah...glippity ay!
when we're late for something, we can say, it's all glippy out!
Good Flip, everyone!
Yikes 268!!! Too rich for my blood -- I will be around to chat at times, but that's all :)
Hi GW. I never made the last grid. I was stuck somewhere on 62. But I DID find the in10, so I'm happy. How are you? How's the family?
Hey, GW!

gw - how do you know that - i cannot get stats yet!
zubie -- I finished with around 58 to go -- but I didn't start until 2 hours before it ended :) Family is doing well, Seb is sleeping 6 hours at night already, AND I may be taken on permanent at my job soon -- they gave me official paperwork to fill out and everything!! :)
Temple, refresh for stats
Temple -- refresh Bye Stidmama -- great boy you have there :) Sleep well (*Hug*)
Q 8/50
Hello, Stid. More or less cheerful baby flails in excitement at virtual kisses...and gets done to the serious busines of eating. :-)
congratulations, gw! Does this mean you will only have one job?
what does brrr mean?
that was 8/55
gets *down* to the serious business of eating... sorry one-handed typing typos are the worst :-)
I REALLY like the word DRATLY- as in this "dratly" puzzle- I will use it from now on, and maybe someday, it will be a REAL word....DRAT!!!!! LOL Happy flip, everyone- I'll bet no one sleeps tonight......268 words OMG
sorta, harp -- I will still stay on w/ Lenscrafter's on a contingent basis -- the extra spending money is always nice to have -- but I can relax and give up much of the extra duties that they have been giving me :) (I work one day a week and I am a keyholder!!!)
lots of adjectival conjugation going on.
30 C's!!! Yikes!!!
i can't win! i either babble at work and don't get work done, or babble at night and don't get sleep, hence won't get work done. Hee, i need an intervention.
30 c's? I was more intimidated by the 16 Q's!
OK folks -- time for me to go to bed and hopefully to sleep -- will see whomever tomorrow :) (*HUGS for all*) (*Bonus for zubie*)

I have more words right now, after 25 min than I had all day yesterday!
heh...it's all the crack you can eat nite at BabbleHouse
really, who needs drugs. this is addicting enough.
who has time for drugs?
only 10 minutes each evening, and I just down a glass of vodka
while sitting in front of Babble? Multicracking!
That's talent, or something.
better than me - I try not to drink and babble. rarely works, though.
I get loopy enough from the laptop staring at me all night. I feel like when I first had babies. No sleep. I was dreaming of the word "tear" last night because it should have been in the grid, but wasn't.
yeah, last grid gave me nite'mares too. This one, though, is like wrestling in whipped cream. :-) Lots of goodie everywhere, but slippery and hard to get ahold of.
wow. i like you.
I like me too. I hear it's going around. :-D
catching like wildfire.
oooo...I found a birdie.
whew...got the first 1,000. Now only another 203 words to go; monkeytyping should get a lot of words
sorry easily distracted by low flying objects.
:-D shadow!
ooh, shiny
you must have gotten the abbreviated list!
shiny? where? ahhhh...shiny.
k- u can't brag and not give a clue!!! Q /50?

It was a really nice sudoku today :)
100 words found, baby asleep, I'm gonna turn in. See y'all in a few hours when Liv wakes up for her next feeding!
Wouldn't you love a night of undisturbed sleep, lol. Sleep well, knut meg!
102 words left to find. I'm off to sleep...night everyone.
Night Angel
night angel! how many u got sprite?
125 now.
question....on licketys clues: is the last du 5/14 supposed to be 6/24?
Sorry, I cannot tell you, don't use them.
cause if the words are in alpha order then it should be 6/24...
and that was du 6/24 not be 6/24
lol
nm...i have finally lost my mind
i knew itd happen eventually...just not this soon
np, if need be we will help you look for it ;) We babblers are great at finding things.
lol good to know thanks
Morning all Found a fish in the grid :)
FMitch, hi :) Good going, there should be one in every grid!
That fish was smothered in flames.
morning fmitch!
Hi sprite and Bex. How are you getting on with the grid today bex?
found 97!
jesuz 97?
bex WTG thats brill !!!
thanks i have had no help either! :)
It's things like that that make mere mortals like myself want to give up!
I don't think comparing should spoil your fun, lol. Just enjoy every word you find by yourself, or with help. I know I do ;)
jmds - don't get disheartened, the more you babble the more wrds stick in the brain. Also you get used to lookin at the grid from different angles, rather than just linear.
sprite - so true, I vowed the other day I wouldn't do grids over 200 but just couldn't resist todays, all those lovely words with the qu.
Morning FMitch. Unfortunately I can only be a part-time Babbler. I get to play every few days at most so I'm always struggling a bit! How many are there in today's grid anyway?
268!
268 words today
268 in total. I agree, FMitch, this is a wonderful grid.
Blimey! I've got the 68. Just the 200 to find!
So you are doing great.
Good morning, all. I've just logged on and am encouraged to hear that it's a nice grid. Here I go!
morning haz!
Dig in Haz, you will love it.
Thanks Sprite. Not sure it feels like it!
Hey Haz :)
I'm enjoying this one a lot! and I am new to this!!
Welcome then Shortie, and that's what it's all about: enjoying yourself. :)
Ok. I've got to go to work! I'm late already. I quit on 75!
see you next time!
somebody help...I can't stop. I'm down to 85 words to find....
woohoo angel!!!
morning everyone
morning ruthy
LOL hey angel, thought you had gone to bed!!!
well, I was going...then I thought, just one more word....that was at 102 words....now I'm down to 85.
I've put those red spke heels back in the closet. Refresh...
I see what you all mean about the grid. I've found my first 100 words, setting out for the next batch.
angel - yr icon is the crinoline from yesterdays grid!
ra9/78 evening all!
amazingly easy grid today...
There's a lovely th6/30 - a Scottish word meaning perverse or stubbon.
re 9/72
The th 6/30 is a good one, but I don't think my favourite Scots word is ever likely to show up in Babble - 'slaister' :)
ylleria - I've just looked it up as it wasn't familiar to me but its variation 'slitter' is used more often in Ulster-Scots.
Haz, I have a th6/33, but not a 6/30. Am I missing something?
It's th, plus three letters meaning uncooked, then n.
Sorry - you're right - I wasn't looking at the word properly - it's th6/33
That one is worth 33 points, actually.
that's the one I have...and there's a very melodic sounding th8 to follow :)
That th8 is my favorite of today :)
Morning all, my favourite babble word is there today- a cr5/22, it goes with your ywis if you remember sprite
Ah ferrari, you are so right! Beautiful one indeed.
ferrari, good to see you and I had not spotted that!!! It's not been in a grid for ages.
And I love both R9s.
As for the Cr5/22, to refresh our memory: An ancient instrument of music with six strings; a kind of violin, being the oldest known stringed instrument played with a bow.
I've only seen it once before, we played with our cr...s and our ywis I seem to remember
Ywis, we did, and pfui, did we have a good time then :)
... aahh the days before stat lists and pro status LOL
A lot of us are 'blow ins' compared to the founder members!
The real fun thing about that was that we really needed each other to finish and to know how many words. Another thing I liked very much was knowing how many T-words, for instance, but not yet knowing how many started from which T.
FMitch, isn't my angel lovely? I think she's a keeper.
I think W9 is a stupidhead word. Who'd ever make a plural like that???
She is indeed angel.
lawyers would, Sprite...
I've been here since last August, I wouldn't know what to do without it now. back to just sudoku and Countdown, Des Lynam's lovely
Angel, I have to agree. I withdraw my comment, lol. It must be a lawyer word.
sprite, I just found that one and was wondering the same thing! I was an August newbie too.
Funny to think you are 'new' in that sense. Feels like I have known you forever as my babble mates.
The Mail on Sunday Mitch? I've not bought it since
Lawyers are very fond of their wh9,s th7 and he 6.
sprite - what about R9/72? How would that ever be used?
yup ferrari - I rue the day LOL
ra9 - the ra****** of their wounds caused them much discomfort... there!
Let me think... "There they found eternal blessing, soothing the R9 of their souls. Finally they were at peace." Does that work? ;)
mrp - good try...............
morning mrp, or rather evening for you
Hi mrP :)
Hello! Was lurking and trying to finish.... am leaving at 3am to drive to the farm
anyone have a clue for ar7/28? not the plural for 6/18, the other.
What the police makes in abundance when there is a football game.
ar7/28 - to be more of an artist
nm, that was the plural. Sorry
I am an August baby as well! I've just been reading the log, and trying to make up my mind whether to play or NOT.
Play ExWren. It's a treat :)
Come on in ExWren, not too many re's today either.
Play, play, play! You will reach half way before you know it!
But I vowed I'd never go over 200 again - I didn't finish the last one
It's worth it just for the cr5 and the wh 9
S5/22 isn't too bad either.
I really enjoyed the i's myself!! ;)
I said the same thing ExWren but just couldn't resist, you know you are going to...... dive in!!
Ah well, nothing ventured.......... And I can't go to the 'S' game 'cos I CAN'T DO IT
Ex-Wren - this is a really pleasurable grid. Why would you sit with your fingers still when they could be tapping out all these lovely words?
the y's and l's were easiest
the a's are not being kind to me tonight... ar 8?
The one who makes the ar6
ExWren, this grid is truly a gem. very enjoyable.
That police officer that makes the Ar7.
OK, I'm in. You didn't tell me that I am in the grid.
we were going to use that as the hook if said you weren't going to play LOL
you are in the grid 8D
*whispers very softly: clues needed, anyone?*
It must be a big points total today sprite
All of them!
4821 points in total.
you done sprite? Congrats!!!!!!
ty
sprite gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
This was the most enjoyable grid in times, really!
Well, I'll have to come back to it later as I have to go to the bank and save my daughter from financial ruin! How is it that two daughters can be so different. The eldest one knows at all times how much money is in her purse, in her bank account and on her phone account at all times. The youngest one is lucky to know where her purse is!
See you later Haz :)
(((Haz)))
Mine are the same Haz, one would lose her head if it wasn't firmly attached and stares vacantly when you ask her where she last saw the thing she's lost
the cr5 is a beauty! where have all the vowels gone!?
That's always my husband's first question. He might as well save his breath!
Okay, if nobody needs me, I am off too. Thanks for the great company, as ever, and happy hunting to you all. mrP: the 3rd is a vowel, in this word :)
bye bye sprite!
Bye sprite, have a good day.
Welsh vowels mrp see you later sprite
FINISHED! 15 minutes behind Sprite!!! I must be a genius!!
%"%"%"%"%"%"Firewords for MrP%"%"%"%"%"%
well done mrp got to go, see you later
firewords???? you know what I mean LOL
LOL... thanks Fmithch!!
now you got me doing it!!
ROFL. Time for me to go and do stuff. BBL.
FMitch.... Bye for now!
thats me finished . bye all
I wondered why I had never heard of us5/18 - the dictionary hadn't either!
for the first time in this grid, I am stuck. need a ch6 that's the first one after the ch8.
ch6 is a plural of the ch5 before it
the ch5 I have before the missing 6 is a game. is that the correct 5 to work from?
angel.... it rhymes with hurt
morin all
Morning. all!!!!!!
mm and hl!! snap!
16 q words? This has to be a joke, right.....?
movieman... my son has just been diag with AS too.
they are quite easy words... lots of er and ers in there
MrP, would you like me to include a link to your website on the Resource page? I have a section for Babblers' homepages now.
Mrp - how old is your son? I ask because I wasn't diagnosed until my early twenties, as you probably know.....
movie... he just turned 7 years old! He is a darling!! Just needs a social tune up and needs to learn to read faces, especially the faces of the bullies! He doesn't speak so clearly and his comprehension is good... perhaps understanding innuendo and not take things so literally would also help the little angel!!
Angel... thank you! I will email you a webpage shortly!
Mrp - when I was first diagnosed, because I also had great difficulty recognising expressions on people's faces, I was given a CD-ROM package called "Mindreading", which contains lots of activities that may help your son with this same problem.....
movieman... that is great! He is getting special support at school with his own teacher for 8 hours a week. He will be taught social cues and appropriate responses and comprehension of people, faces and social challenges. He is developing beautifully now that we are aware... we are so much more patient and understanding... he is a much happier little boy!
the hardest thing to do was remove him immediately from a social situation if he responded innappropriately... that was very challenging. He had to be warned in advance of a social occassion... and if he acted out in a fashion that he had been warned about, he had to be instantly removed and taken home. That was so heartbreaking, but he 'learned' very quickly what to do
Mrp - I suppose it is easier for a parent if their child is diagnosed later in life (teens and above) rather than as a preteen.....
movieman... sure... but it isn't ok for some kids! Alot of AS kids get labelled as problem kids, or nerds, or geeks and they develop much deeper social problems without parental understanding. My husband and I were stunned at the diagnoses... but we are much happier (and so is my son) that we understand what he is going through, and how to help him. One of the mums at school has an AS kid and she calls him stupid and f***** idiot all the time! She should know better!
Mrp, Sorry to show my ignorance, but what is AS?
ExWren - AS is Asperger's Syndrome, a form of autism.....
exW... it is Asperger Syndrome... http://www.aspergia.com t ake out the spaces!
Thank you, I had never heard of it before. It seems like he is lucky to have you as parents.
thank you exW! He is a wonderful little boy and we are very proud of him!
OK, I have just visited the website, and have a little undestanding of it. One should learn something new every day, and I have just done that!
Aspergians often describe their experience as that of "being on the wrong planet". I know so many people who feel this way!! I thought it was a personality trait!! :)) They have to invest a lot of energy in understanding interactions, and would often need to consciously plan their social behaviour in advance... that is at least another 20 people I know!!
Another symptom of Asperger's is an interest in one, maybe two things....... For me it's movies (as you needed to know).....
Can anyone share a clue for thesc 5/22?
mrpresident If one of the teachers at my son's school (I have an AS child as well) called him stupid, I'd be up there freaking out!
movieman For my son, it's video games :\
boo! :-o doubt i could ever finish this one; i have enough trouble with just over 100 words :-/
Guten Tag, Mikey....
sueb... the teachers are smart enough... it is the parents of some of the AS that are stupid! This one mum knows that her son is AS and not just a mild case either... and she freaks out at him on a regular basis. I get so mad that she is so insensitive to him. AS people are just as regular and intelligent as anyone, they just see things different to the so-called 'norm'
good morning to you, isn't it, movieman; assuming it still is where you are?
sueb and movieman, my son is video games too. We held his 7th birthday party at an entertainment zone filled with video games, and about 10 of his friends... he was over the moon!! Got to spend time with his friends AND play video games !!
Mikey - It was, 6 minutes ago......
Good Morning Mikey!
mrpresident My son says he has friends at school. But he keeps school and home very separated. So I never get to meet any of these children. It's very disconcerting as he's 15 and going into high school next year. I'm worried. bbiab though I have to drive to work now :)
bye sueb! Lovely chatting and chat later!
See ya, sueb!!!! It's humbling to know I'm not the only Babbler with this problem....
a clue for the last 'ar7,28' anyone, please? :-/
ar7 to be more of an artist!!
thanks, mrpresident; finally got it with your hint! :-)
Well, have to go!! We are leaving in 6 hours for the country! Clothes to pack, kids to put to sleep... Rat's bedding needs changing, Cat needs to be fed and handed over to my Brother, Fish need a holiday pellet, house needs to be clean... oh boy!! SAVE ME!!
clue for re 7/40 please
clue for the first 'ce6,24', please? :-/
re 7/40 ask for
er; make that the only 'ce6,24' ?
See ya, mrp..... Thanx for the discussion!!!!!
cheers squerty
wow; have fun there, mrpresident!!! :-)
no probs
ce 6/24 think serious
bye all!! (waving, not drowning!)
bye mrp
thanks, ilandrah.....but it's just not coming to me; entered everything i can think of, but i don't see any word there meaning that? :-/
ce 4/5 + america
that was a 'sounds like' clue -- sorry
ce 4/5 + us
sc5?
sc 5 - beginning of govenor arnolds surname
Angel, have you still not gone to bed yet? How may left to find?
34 left now. don't understand the governor arnold sc5 clue though,...
Angel - it's the first 5 letters of his surname.....
It's a good clue for a real babble word. Think of the actor and start spelling out his surname.
It's the beginning of the actor's surname - also the beginning of the German word for black.
got it!
governor of california is arnold ...rzeneggar, ex movie star
hello, Haz; hope you're feeling better? :-)
Yes thanks, Mikey - I've had no return (so far) of the problem.
Anybody got any 9's yet? I have the re9 (the person who asks for something)...... But I'm having difficulty with the other two.....
I have wh9 plural of the wh7
There's a dodgy ra9/78 and a wh9/84 - both plurals
Clue for the wh7 then, spellit....
help, help; very very stuck on the 2nd 'ch' word, 'ch5,16'.....help please, anyone? :-/
good to hear that, Haz!!! :-)
Mikey - to c add a simple word that means 'difficult'
oh *thank you*, Haz.....sheesh; that was so obvious, i couldn't see it!!! :-/
Movieman - the wh 7 is an extension of the direction seeking wh5/10. It is often used by lawyers in the wording of documents and the wh9 is the plural.
Well movieman the wh7 is an extension of the wh5 which is the word you use when looking for something! Clear now?
I'm having issues with the ch words myself, Mikey!
By the way I've gone for Maundy Money as my icon as it's Maundy Thursday
Morning, all... how goes the grid today?
Morning, Jera - it's a fun grid.
Haz - I got the wh7, but I'm having trouble pluralising it.....
Hi all! Looks like a big one today. And it's seasonal! Spellit - how do you make the plural of that wh7?
I go, you go, he go**
Er... haz, that is...
ahhhh there's two wh7 v close to each other - only 1 pluralises
and hi! :)
you are, Haz??? wow; well they're tough, ja.....i'm really stuck on 'ch6,33' + 'ch7,48' + 'ch8,65' right now.....i'd really appreciate some clues please, anyone? :-/
There are two wh7's! One ends in t, the other doesn't. It's the non t ending one you can pluralise.
I like having r's, s's & some blends to work with for a change...
Jera!!! :-D
Ahhh! Now I get it!
Thanx, Haz..... No wonder I couldn't get the 9.....
i'm really stuck on 'ch6,33' + 'ch7,48' + 'ch8,65' right now.....i'd really appreciate some clues please, anyone? :-/
Sorry for the confusion, I was forgetting that there were the two wh7's.
Need help with that re9/78 now.....
ok. now I'm getting paranoid :P This is 2 days in a row where people haven't said hi - even when I give clues!! Can you see my messages? *worried*
{{{Mikey}}} You guys are scaring me... I am nowhere near ready to look for the big words yet...
Oh, sorry, Atalante...... Hi there!!!!!
hi, Atalante; i see your messages, ja
Sorry, Atalante... HIIIIIII!!! *waves madly @ Atalante*
Just got the 7 and 8 movieman. Thank of the pattern of a game board.
And for the 6 - a means of payment
hmm; i don't think they're seeing me, Atalante.....i've asked for the same clues twice now, with no responses? :-/ are my messages visible?
phew! I was actually starting to get worried the site was screwing up!!! *waves muchly to everyone*
Mikey - clues below.
again.....i'm really stuck on 'ch6,33' + 'ch7,48' + 'ch8,65' right now.....i'd really appreciate some clues please, anyone? :-/
Hz - thanx for those cluez, but I believe it was Mikey who was doing the asking......
oh? then sorry, Haz.....haven't found/seen any here yet, but i'll look again!
mikey - And for the 6 - a means of payment Just got the 7 and 8 movieman. Thank of the pattern of a game board.
ra9/78 is a plural adjective relating to the lack of cooking that has good into food or the lack of healing in a wound.
Movieman - that ra clue WAS for you!
ok; got the 7 right away with that 'payment' clue.....thanks!! :-) still horribly stuck on the 8 now! :-/
Haz - I was talking about those ch cluez you gave.....
ah; have it now! :-) thanks for the game board clue! ;-)
such a shame there's not an X between the E and the first C of the board game
Movieman - yes I know I was getting confused with the ch clues for Mikey. however a while ago you asked for clues for the ra9/78 and I was just letting you know.
I feel invisible sometimes, too... easy for people to get lost in the grid or have clue conversations back & forth... this is like a room full of people at a big loud party, so I don't get offended when I come in unnoticed...
movieman... I probably need to refresh re your icon, but I am happy to finally see that classic owrk of art (dogs playing poker)
ach; sorry if i confused you, Haz.....i seem to have that effect on people; probably 'cos i'm perpetually confused myself, i imagine? :-P
My son is sitting beside me drawing eggs & decorating them for the Easter Bunny... he's a big fan...
Jera - I chose that Dogs Playing Poker icon 'cos it reminds me of the beginning of one of the Simpsons' Halloween specials.......
let's play a "not confusing Haz any more" game ;)
It's okay Mikey. I know women are supposed to be good at multi-tasking, but sometimes doing the grid and trying to give clues becomes confusing for everyone.
I just like it cuz it's freaky, movieman... almost mesmerizing...
Thanks Atalante - you can see that I'm an early candidate for a home for the elderly and bewildered!
hi everyone! im back!
Hiya, bex....
oh i understand, Haz; it's confusing enough for me, that's for sure.....as are these puzzles! :-/
hey, bex777!!! :-D
Hooray, bex is back!! Hi, bex! *waves madly cuz it's lots of fun*
*waves madly back*
Good afternoon bex!
lol, Haz.....'you can see that I'm an early candidate for a home for the elderly and bewildered'.....i'll see you there, then!!! :-P
Oooh, I just refreshed, tell me about your icon, movieman... can't read the writing...
hehe; some days, i say it's a good thing i have 'Mikey' tattooed right on me, so i don't forget my own name, man!!! :-P
Jera - it represents the feast of Passover, seeing as that is today's theme..... And the text reads: "Passover/ Unleaven Bread"...
I don't know if there really were homes entitled for the elderly and bewildered, but an old gentleman I know spoke often of being sent, as a young boy, to recuperate from illness to a home which was called 'The Rest Home for Tired men and lads'. I love that name!
unleavened bread *shudder* that brings back bad memories from schooldays!
lol, Haz.....only in Britain, only in Britain! ;-)
I like the goblet movieman... I choose the bloodier aspect of the holiday (big surprise)... I find the blood on the lintels story quite fascinating...
help, help.....please!!! :-/ i'm horribly horribly stuck on the first 3 'cr' words :-(
I haven't gone to the list yet, Mikey, or I'd help you...
ach, no.....i'm not into bloody things :-/
Mikey - the cr5 a type of plant, often used to garnish things. The others work off that.
I have 3 cr words, but they are small & I have no idea if they are the first... a plant (usually watercr***) & family symbol (+ plural)
oh gee, Haz.....that again, was *so* obvious, i didn't see it!!! :-P thank you!!! :-) lol
I WANT to spell crescent, but alas, it is not there...
I'm just waiting for Mikey to raise the white flag when it comes to cr5/22 .....
good morning! I'll raise the flag on cr5/22 Is it Welsh?
ROFL Haz!!! can't wait :)
haz - you're mean :P
it sure looks gaelic kateq
Nothing to do with the holiday, but I'm fasting today... & my son sits beside me munching Girl Scout cookies for breakfast... *rolls eyes*
It is welsh, indeed, katieq - Good morning!
Good Morning Everyone :)
Haz - I just got that ch5/22....
hiya faerie!
Faerie - afternoon......
{{{{{FAERIE}}}}}
Morning faerie!
{{{Shorty}}}
Morning Faerie! Thx for the nudge on the cr5/22 - thought there might be something like that one in there today. Since BJs stat-program is down, can somebody tell me how many biggies?
HELLO Everyone what a nice welcome party I have today.
afternoon, faeriekae :-)
Hi ya Mikey - nice icon...
There are 3 9 letter words and 15 8 letters.
4-letter words 77 5-letter words: 88 6-letter words: - 59 7-letter words: -26 8-letter words: 15 9-letter words: 3
Oh Haz - thanks alot....wasn't ready for that.
ok, Haz.....you knew it; i'm waving it, i'm waving it!!! :-P help please, with 'cr5,22' ??? :-/
morning folks
I just got it--based on point count--not on having a clue as to what it means or how to say it LOL
morning Hurshy!
uhm, thanks faeriekae; but it's just me, shrunken really small, lol :-P
Thx - 9s down, only 9 more 8s to find...
Okay Mikey - cr5/22 - grow is to gro*** as cr is to cr***
LOL Mikey
Morning Hurshy - how is Sis doing? any news yet?
i talked to her last night and she said her legs felt somewhat better, and she was able to squat which she couldn't before. so i think everything is ok.
huh, Haz??? :-/ that doesn't even work, or at least anything i've tried.....and i've tried everything! :-(
The cr word has no vowels. Teenagers sometimes have a gro*** spurt. Use those letters.
omg; wow, that's strange.....how can you say a word with no vowels??? :-P thanks, Haz.....appreciate it!!! i thought this puzzle was in the English language, though? :-/
OMG thats a crazy word
Thats good to hear Hurshy. Been worried about her. Is she going back to the dr. today?
'Ours is not to reason why'
Have to go, have lunch and go to the hairdressers. See you later.
Later Haz :)
i think she just has to wait for them to call with blood test results. thanks for your concern, faerie, it's very sweet of you! :)
Whew... I'm back... had to go clean up several messes that had accumlated whilst I was Babbling... why am I the only one who can deal with cat barf??
hurshy whats wrong with your sis?
we think just a weird virus, shorty - yesterday her legs suddenly went all numb - like rubbery - and she drove, which was dumb, and then realized this was scary and she might not be able to brake... anyway she got seen by a neurologist and everything and they don't think it's anything serious, and it seems to be getting better.
Hurshy - fingers and toes are crossed for her.
Oh wow, how scary, hurshy! Neurologists are the best... very mysterious specialty...
Jera *sprinkle*sprinkle*sprinkle* cat barf yuck - sorta like dog barf that I have to clean up once in awhile.
OMG
Before I type my fingers bloody, is lickety's list correct? I just can't see how any q's can come before the first 5/16... or am I just being blind?
Never mind - old rule, ask and you shall see the answer before you get a response
they do amanda, cos I just spent ages looking for them qu + 2 vowels
Amanda did you have problems with that list yesterday? I had a couple words that weren't on it but found them in the end with some help from my Babble Buddies. :)
Thanks, faerie... hairballs, mostly, not a real sickness... if my daughter would brush her poor cat we wouldn't have this problem... I'm about to take her to the vet & get her shaved (the cat, not my daughter)... really bad knots in her fur...
LOL Jera
Hello folks. Not much time for Babbling today as the housework and gardening beckon. Just wanted to clue in anyone still puzzled aboout that cr5/22 word. It's a type of musical instrument - a Welsh lyre. If you're wondering how to pronounce it, it rhymes with 'proof'.
Such a pretty animal... long-haired calico... such a princess, too, but very tangled fur...
Not yesterday, but I know every once in a while a glitch pops up in the lists - nobody's perfekt, as they say!
MOrning, Jacula! That cr word is one of my favorite freaky Babble words...
My dog Max has stomach problems and pukes up yellow bile froth. Stains my carpet if I don't get it right away but the vet says nothing he can do about it. And I'm taking Max for check up tomorrow got his yearly shots and such. Just love spending the money. It will only cost about $200 for everything heartworm check and meds and flee & tick pills. But money well spent.
I'm so happy today, GW finally got around to accepting me on his Yahoo list... now I can stalk him & everything...
Ewww, faerie... poor Max! How old is he?
He is 9yrs old.
14 lbs
kinda fat.
wrong word not fat - fluffy :)
faeriekae - "rounded"
He is the best secret keeper I have :) I love my little Max
Ata - good choice of words, thank you :)
That's getting about up there for dogs... my Zackie just became a teenager... we had a party & everything, LOL
Faerie - Be careful that doggie Max doesn't hear you calling him 'undertall' (!) The last time I called my fluffy, tangled cat 'Baggy belly', she took a swipe at me.
Zackie isn't exactly fat, but he is part Maine Coon, so he has that silly belly flap...
any time I call Hobbit not exactly thin, she gets this very hurt big spaniel eyes look!
Jera how sweet - I have parties for Max and invite all of his friends over and keep them all day..Bathoven, Butch, Natcho, Biscut, Bruno, Babes, Cloie, Missy and they love the parties. Doggie treats for everyone.
Oh Jera I know exactly what your talking about. LOL
Ata - they are so sensitive.
love hearing about your parties for Max--my friend Claudia once had a party for her cat Angus (now deceased)--she's an artist and very creative . . . all the human guests rec'd cat collars with their names on them! :-)
Belly flap? Hmm, I guess I don't need to lose weight for my hols after all, I'll just tell people I'm part Maine Coon.;)
Jac :-D
omg Jac! That's perfect! LOL!
I really do have these parties and the parents just drop them off to me for the day or the afternoon. I have a fenced in yard and they get to romp around and have a grand ole time. I sit water dishes all around the yard and hide treats for them. *teehee*
Jacula - ROFL
That's it, Jacula!!
Right, I've got 196 words found and now I'm off to the passport office to see if I can get that Maine Coon thing put on my passport.:D. TTFN, folks.
LOLOLOL
I really do have parties. but they are for kids not other pets... Sprite & now Gwyd's friends come over & play with the cats... a great time is had by all... when the cats have enough, they run & hide...
I have 2 more to be halfway then I have to get Gwyd off to school... they are dying their eggs today in art... can't be late!
can I just show off my Hobbit? We went down to the beach yesterday and she was running about madly chasing seagulls, and completely fluke-ily I got this shot: http://www.atalante.f2s.com/ba ll.jpg
here is me again
later Jera:)
Whoo-hoo... halfway! How cute is that, Atalante?
Hows it going Hurshy?
hi all. i'm brand new here. no idea how well i'm doing, but i have a question. i just made a word, and it seemed at first it wouldn't take it - and it is SO a word - then it did take it, but i got no points for it, and my total points now says "Nan" - help?
Hurshy!!! That's the picture I was looking for but I couldn't find it in color!!
it's going good - gotta love babbling whilst teaching class (i'm giving a quiz) cute pic ata!!!
thanks Jera :) She's an utter sweetheart ...
try refreshing saintfranny
try refreshing, StFran
hit your refresh button, saintfranny... it's a problem from time to time... and welcome!!
sorry jera - just googled for it, dunno what to tell you :)
What search words did you use, may I ask?
hurshy i thought u went to class?
thanks hurshey - i checked my profile and when i came back, now the word is gone, but my total points are restored. tho now i'm bugged - it WAS a word i made! stupid puzzle!
hmmm... passover? i am not sure bc i stockpile a bunch of icons at a time so i don't have to look for one every day
I yahoo'ed, maybe that was it...
i am in class, bexie :) but i'm giving a quiz... so i babble while they take it :)
oh! lol
Well, I'm really going this time... later, all! *poof*
did everyone go to sleep? Any I the only one here....looks around....HELLOOOOOOOO
we're here... just lookin' for words :)
thanks Hurshy...
hello all...hgow many words today?
268 words gobraves
ty faerie and hello to you and happy spring
its a biggie today.
that's good - I like the biggies, more action
yeah...like the first two te's - since it won't take techrat... which is certainly word in my vocabulary! Anyone?
ok; i'm back to the grid here, while we're taking a tea break! :-P
Everyone is being really quite right now Mikey....they are all deep in the grid.
ja; that's ok, faeriekae.....so am i now, so am i!!! :-P
Amanda - I'm no where near the t's yet.
first te rhymes with st 6/24 (the smelly one)
I've just been gabbing on IM *teehee* *diving into grid for words now*
hi everyone!
Temple - Hi!!!!!!
thanks Ilandrah - I now have 2 more words :)
Thx ilandrah - thought I'd tried every combination....
Hi Temple :)
hiya, Temple Owl.....and amanadacath! :-) and well, everyone!!! :-) *waves*
hi temple - you have a good new coach in fran dunphy
hope so - i go back to the litwack era!!!
he could coach too, as could chaney of course, but I think you re going to be really good for a long time with the new one
Just changed MY icon, soooooo....... You all know the drill.....
anyone else have a mind that keeps trying to spell "scenic" and secret"...arrggghh
Movie man - your driving front end loader. or dozer
front end loader.
I tried scenic several times it does seem to like that word.
It's the cover of "The JCB Song" by Nizolpi, a band from the Midlands...... It was released over here last Christmas......
doesn't like the word duh..
Really - never heard of them. But cute pic. I know my heavy equipment.
The band's name should be Nizlopi, I misspelt it.....
Tag, Mikey! BRB - gonna go buy batteries and hope that's why my mouse is doing such wierd things...
What kind of music do they play?
Good morning everyone. Just got lonely and popped in for hellos. Did any one take the time to read what I posted on the boards? If not, please take a look.
(((TSM)))
((TSM))
They're a folk rock band, faerie.... The JCB Song was written about one of the band member's troubles with dyslexia at school, and how he would often accompany his dad to work in his JCB....
Hi ya TSM :)
(((((( Hurshy, faerie)))))
(((( F_Mitch, movieman)))
Movieman - I will have to check them out. Love rock music. My favorite.
TSM - Hi!!!! Have you been reading the messages of condolence in Babbler's Anon?
So TSM - remember not to kiss Capone when you see him he has yuck mouth LOL
Just nipped back and, seeing the thing about Nizlopi, the Leamington band, thought I'd give you a link to their JCB song video: http://www.jcbsong.co. uk/jcbvideo.asp (Remove any spaces.)
Odd thing... I bought myself a punching bag yesterday....
oooh, i want a punching bag
I did read the messages today. I replied to them all if you go take a peek
Toes. ((((HUGS))). Gotta go. BBL.
Jacs - thank you.
And here is a link to Nizlopi's official site: www.nizlopi.com/
Punching bags are wonderful.
Hi Jac. Not seen you for a while, I've had some compliments for my icon!
thanks Movieman - brb gonna go check it out.
Later Jacula :)
I guess I am at the point where just being angry helps. Thus the bag. But either way it's like a hole missing for me. I don't want to chat on it too much. I hope you all understand. Just that thinking on other things help more than talking about it. I vent a lot to Joe (Capone) so I get it all out just fine... he is a great listener too. I really miss him
of course TSM, whatever you need to do, you don't owe us any explanation!!
TSM - you know where we are if you need us.
Thank you.... And on a brighter note, I had a glad of wine! :)
a large glass.... it was more like a large water bottle size....
So, what is new with everyone? How are YOU ALL been doing? ... No more on me...
we're liking the grid today!
.. and theres going to be lots of easter eggs this weekend!!
oops I said a word - sorry
Oh yes my icon isn't very festive. I need to change that huh... Maybe the lamb of God? :)
I'm back - new batteries and the mouse is behaving, at least for the moment - we'll see....
I am finished!!!
it IS, in that regard, an inconvenient time for that word to be in the grid :)
horribly stuck here, on the third 'ea5,10' word!!! :-/ help please, anyone???
Don't worry, TSM, mine's not very festive either!!!!
ea 5/10 what ibuprofen does to pain
I was surprised hursy - would have thought it should have been with a capital letter.
%"%"%"% Fireworks for Angelsong%"%"%"%"%
fmitch, it may be included as the converse of wester...
thank you, sqwerty; but i already have *that* one.....i'm talking about the THIRD 'ea5,10' word, please? :-/
sorry, jumping the gun there
hurshy - that makes sense.
n/p, sqwerty.....just hope someone has a clue for me? :-/
a clue for the THIRD 'ea5,10' word please, anyone? :-/
congrats on finishing everyone :)
Mikey, there are two forms of "taking nourishment"
*~*~*~**~BOOM*~*~*~*~* CONG RATULATIONS ANGEL!!!
If you refresh can you see my icon? Can you tell what it is?
yes, the lion and the lamb :)
TSM - It's the lion laying down with the lamb.....
ja; thanks anyhow, but it just can't be that one, amandacath.....that one, i already have, as the last word.....this is the THIRD 'ea5,10' word i'm talking about! anyone have a clue for *that* one, please? :-/
mikey - not wests but...
awwww Toes...what a nice Icon :)
So, faerie, you're back from checking out Nizlopi...... What's your opinion?
that's all I've got so far on the ea's - sorry!
thanks, but i have that already, hurshy, as the 2nd 'ea' word.....i'm talking about the one right after it, the 3rd 'ea5,10' word??? :-/
Mikey - have you ea*** your lunch yet?
ok I am going to go. I think I need to eat something. I don't feel so well... Bye all.
afternoon all :D (((((Toes)))))
i have that already too, Chessy.....as the 4th 'ea5,10' word.....good grief, i'm talking about the 3rd/THIRD 'ea5,10' word!!! :-/
(((TSM))) feel better
sorry, TSM; hope you feel better soon!
mikey, you must be confused. logically i do not think there can be an ea 5/10 between those two unless it were eatei which doesn't work.
TSM - Hope you feel better...... Come back soon.....
ea 5/10 person who consumes food
not everyone uses the list, Mikey, so we don't all necessarily know if words are the third, fourth, etc....
morning
well, maybe i am, Hurshy, yes; that's entirely possible.....but if what i have in the 2nd 'ea5,10' slot actually goes in the 3rd 'ea5,10' slot, then what goes in the 2nd one? :-/
or am i confusing the 4th and 5th 'ea5,10' words? oh man, i don't know; i'm about ready to give up! :-(
Mikey, do you have the plural of your ea direction?
no, amandacath; but my question was for those who do, obviously :-)
mickey, do you have the plural of the 3rd ea4
ja; that i do, Chessy.....in the 2nd 'ea5,10' slot.....not the right place for it? :-/
Movieman - I love it....listened to "call it up" "fine story" and "girls"
mickey - it is meant to be in the second ea5 slot(direction)
Faerie - I bought a copy of their CD on Amazon last December, just on the strength of hearing "The JCB Song"...
yes, scatty; and that's where i already have it.....so it seems i *do* need a clue for the 3rd 'ea5,10' slot, as i originally asked, please.....anyone? :-/
Movieman - I already placed my order *teehee* excellent music. I will be checking for more of thier stuff on Amazon.
mikey - there are 4 ea 5/10's. you have them all already.
Faerie - I'll wager the band themselves will be glad to know that I've introduced at least one person from over the pond to their music.....
ok, Mikey, the ea5/10's: what Ibuprofen does directions 2x forms of taking nourishment that's all there is!
well if i do, hurshy.....then why is my 3rd one empty?
Mickey the 3rd ea5/10 is when you have finished your meal you have just ea---
all i know is you said something about the 4th and 5th before and there is no 5th... if you have the ones amanda just mentioned that is all of them
perhaps you have put a 5 in a 6 slot or something, i don't know
oh man; i'm so sorry.....ja, stupid me.....tired and not seeing straight! :-/ had one in the wrong slot, all right.....thank you all *so* much, and i'm sorry!!! :-(
n.p. Mikey, maybe you need to get some food from the Orient to help you think
mikey - the 4th is a MAN EA--- (dinosaur)
Said I'd be back. Here I am!
greetings and salutations to you stidmatt
Welcome back, stidmatt.....
Hi stidmatt
Good morning babblers, just joined you and looking east--Mikey all this talk about eating makes a somewhat indigestible start to the day. . . hope you have all components now.

ar 8, anyone?
oh, well, if it was the fbi, then good for them, and if not, then shame on the parents.

hi Sherb.... wow lots of words in todays. I'll be lucky if i have time to break 100 lol
amanda - is it that last ar7/28? If so it is more of the ar4/4 before it.

stidmatt, how's the grid going for you today?
Way better then yesterday by about 4x.
well it is a much more fun grid, that's for sure! :)

~~~~~MITCH~~~~~~ ~~~FIREWORKS~ ~~~
I dont normally do anything over 200 hurshey but I couldn't resist today.
ude ar6/18
schindler's list is much ar7 than ferris bueller, yes
Huzzah for FMitch!!
*takes a modest bow* thanks all
hi to all babblers
'Sup jean?
i tried so hard not to do babble today me thinks im addicted lol
hehe we got you
still not gettin' it: schindler's list is much ar7 than ferris bueller, yes ude ar6/18
happens to us all jean long before we realise it! LOL
its got worse i found the a2z site with scrabble now im beyond help lol
it was my little joke... i assume you were not in fact referring to ferris bueller in your question... it's more of the last ar4/4
no,H, I wasn't referring to Ferris in terms of a clue...
i know... just trying to be clever - obviously it failed :)
and, I must have work on the brain, 'cuz i still ain't gettin' it
i was with you hursh- it got me the word! try museums are full off ar4/4, some ar7/28 than others
think about the fact that schindler's list is more of a "film" and ferris bueller is more of a "movie" and the fact that it is more of the last ar 4/4
Nine days Mrs Beuller....NINE days! : )
there you go, kaurie has the ticket
omG, thanks guys. it rhymes with a bodily function, comparatively
Hey hursh! What's up with your sis?
jbp we will have to go lowbrow for you in the future =)
what can I say? I'm a simple gal...
He's a righteous dude! Hi Lola! Hi everyone!
i think she's fine, lola, it was just yesterday her legs suddenly went numb, and then she tried to drive to work anyway, and on the way realized that could be dangerous if she became unable to feel the brakes and stuff. so she called me, and we made her pull over, and her friend brought her to the ER. they think it is some weird virus, but as of last night she was already some better so i think it's ok.
Whew! Finally got my list in order... only 113 words to go! *laughs hysterically*
Hi Deutsch!
Hey, Deutsch, my monochromatic friend... howzit goin'?
hi deutsch! : )
Hey, stid! How's the word count?
deutsch - you never zoom anymore. i liked it when you used to zoom :)
gosh hursh, glad to hear she's feeling better!
Haven't been getting much in the past ten minutes.
{{{Lola}}} you snuck in while I was under the influence...
*zooms over to hurshy, then zooms between lola and Jera, finally zooms to stid for the tackle!*
yay! :)
{{{{jera}}}} ...dare I ask? Under the influence of what??
Sweet, tight, etc!
The most potent of all intoxicants... the BABBLE GRID *dun...dun... DUUUUN*
*zoooooooms* into the room, to try adding a few more words to the grid while eating a late supper! :-P *waves!*
Oooo, all those zooming zebra stripes have made my eyes go funny 8 )
Hi Mikey! How's it going in Deutschland?
{{{Mikey}}} What's for supper, hon?
stidmatt with the killer wit!!!
jera, lol! I thought maybe someone had opened the babble champers while I was gone! : )
*slows to a trot in front of lola, then zooms over to Mikey*
*waves back at mikey* Hoe gaan dit met jou? : )
Does anyone have a hint for te 7/36?
Oh no, Lola... we wouldn't dare!
heya.....Jera, Deutsch and Lola!!!!! :-D
merk - in WWI they fought in tr******. remove the r.
merk, the te7 is what troupes fight in minus the second consonant
great minds, carrie - SNAP! :)
Thanks, I don't know why I didn't think of a suffix for 5/14.
Hi all.......
'Sup caitlyn?
howdy caitlyn
Hi, caitlyn... nice icon!
*panting* Hi Caitlyn. I've been zooming!
Oh, excuse me for 10 mins...have to catch up on some mails. Back in a bit : )
...and hi caitlyn : )
Are you offering stid?
Appropriate icon for today, Caitlin
oh hey; chag same'ach v'Pesach, Cailtlyn.....but i didn't realize you're Jewish? :-)
do they not say that in wales? he's not saying, sup, caitlyn? as in would you like a bite to eat, but 'sup caitlyn? as in what's up caitlyn
if i even typed that correctly, ARB? :-/ hey; cut me some slack if i didn't.....i'm a German/British gentile! ;-)
sorry, Caitlyn.....i don't always type so well! :-P
lol; i'll just wish you a good Yom Tov; i can at least spell that much, anyhow! ;-)
Mikey, You typed it absolutely correctly for a transliterated "Happy Holiday".
I didnt realise that hurshy . Mickey im not Jewish but i always think Easter is better than Christmas (and i liked the icon)
I am not Jewish, but I enjoy learning about all religions... that's the way to find your true spiritual path, IMHO. I enjoy reading the Bible very much...
oh thanks, ARB; good to know! :-)
i tried ;-)
'sup is a standard bit of american teen slang :)
Better the icon than the piles of matza crumbs on the floor!
ah; i see, and 'sit corrected' then, Caitlyn! ;-)
Jera, I'm with you. I enjoy learning about different religions and beliefs.
I forgive you Mikey LOL
Okay, the last cr "word"... I have no words for my thoughts really. Any guesses on how you say that? I get lost without vowels...
On that note, & with 100 words left to find, I must go have a picnic with my daughter... later, all!
piles of matzah crumbs, ARB? hmm; is't Pesach the holiday where you have to clean all the 'chametz' out of the house beforehand? :-/ heck, i don't know; my best friend's Jewish though, so you see, i've learned some things here and there, and probably confuse'em all! :-P
Have fun, Jera!
aw; thank you, Caitlyn.....nice to know! ;-)
If my clariten holds up, Deutsch! *poof*
Yes, at Pesach you clean out the chametz which is the bread stuff. Then you only eat matza and it crumbles all over everything, especially when you have 4 darling grandchildren running around eating matza and yelling "Lotsa matza"
Sorry if there is a delay in my replies every time i post i have to refresh,this computer really is rubbish!!!
lol, ARB; so matzah crumbs don't count as 'chametz' then.....only regular bread crumbs, from leavened bread, is that how it works? :-/
Jawohl
Hi, all Babbler's anonymous is down...where else can I find the number of words today? --Book
268 and you can get list at lickety's babble page
268 words
I'll be back in a bit.see y'all later
I'm back, did I miss anything?? : )
thanks, hursh-- I'm trying to squeeze this into lunch break. Need that list!
help, anyone....i'm *so* stuck on the 2nd 'er4,4' word? :-/
*zooms out of the chat room*
ah; i see now, ARB :-)
Bye Deutsch hi again lola
ah, i am so glad deutsch is back to zooming :)
ZOOMS around frantically, trying to find a clue for the second/2nd '2nd 'er4,4' word.....HELP??? :-/
er 4/4 -- to ___ is human plus s
Mikey - give us a chance to respond - you only posted yr request 2 mins ago
ah; thanks ARB....sheesh; that was obvious, too; seems sometimes the ones i don't find are the most obvious ones! :-/
Stuck on the cr's, first three. I have from the toothpaste down. Anyone have those?
sorry, FMitch; just wanted to make sure it didn't get 'lost' in the thread, as sometimes they can on here :-/
hey bun bun!
First cr is a green used in salads, the second is the plural
bunny cr5/12 a salad garnish
and the 3rd is the 1st 6 letters and change the last one to another consonant
And the third is the second word with a different consonant at the end
TODAY'S STATS: Total words = 268 Total points = 4821 4-letter words - 77 5-letter words - 88 6-letter words - 59 7-letter words - 26 8-letter words - 15 9-letter words - 3 A -11 C - 32 D - 19 E - 29 H - 10 I - 1 N - 6 Q - 16 R - 36 S - 49 T - 35 U - 7 W - 17
evanonut!!!!! :-D and hey again, bunnyvicious!!! :-)
hey there mikey.
Hey Mikey! I've been sneaking around. I find if I get to gabberin', I forget to do the grid.
sorry, evanonut; we just weren't up quite early enough for me to meet you all for that Literati game this morning! :-/
The first 3 cr's: cr 5/12 -- salad green cr 7/32 plural of salad green cr 7/32 changed last consonant of the previous word
nut, no seriously. I realised about an hour AFTER I logged off the other day that there was something different about you... am I going er...nuts??
i didn't literati mikey, i was sleeping
Hi Lola and everyone. Another flying visit I'm afraid. BBL.
tsk tsk, i 'm not fond of nut being used in such a manner. i prefer it like that. "shes such a wonderful person, she's nuts!"
Hi Jacula you are busy these days!!
oops, sorry nut! : ) ...and belated congrats! *hands nut glass of babble champers*
lunch calls, bbl
hi kids
oooooh * takes champers * well, a little champers will cure any ailment i daresay!
later hursh : )
Bye hurshy hi boreetos
boreetos! how are you? : )
good thanks! yourself?
I'm good. Enjoying this grid : )
the ea6 is certainly appropriate.
lola I love your icon
LOL! I know, couldn't believe it when I found it! : D
Ahhh, I confused myself. I put the no vowel cr in the top of the cr list ans the double squiggly one at the bottom. Maybe I should zoom around a bit too, get some blood flowing in my brain. Thank you for the help!!!
Whew! Only 100 words left to find, gotta break for a bit to do silly responsible adult things like bills and taxes and bathing. Be back later tonight!!
thanks caitlyn : )
knut, you should know that all those things (except for bathing) are highly overrated. But bye anyways.
Who needs taxes?
later knut : )
LOL Boreetos! I totally agree, except if I don't do them Bad Things (tm) happen. Le sigh.
Bye knut
I disagree, I think bathing is highly over rated as well. That's what deoderant and body spray are for...
LOL bunny
who needs sleep? . who needs sleep? Tell me what's that for. who needs sleep? Yeah you're never going to get it, there's guys who've been awake since the second world war.
Either that's a song I don't know, or YOU really need some sleep!
LOL boreetos!
Totally bunnyvicious!
Barenaked Ladies. Who needs sleep.
lol, I just found the si6/18. You can clues from the log without even realising! : D
boreetos, was it them that did that song about playing under the sprinkler and then going inside and sleeping all afternoon?
I didn't realize "bad thing" was tradmarked, but that's good to know.
lola, yeah that was in the song Pinch Me.
aaah, thanks boreetos! *scribbles down song title to look for later*...I love that song : )
yeah that's a good one. "If I had a million dollars" is entertaining as well.
*scribbles that one down too* : )
Please, how many words today?
It's 268.
Hi all. Have a few lesson plans to finish before I can start the grid today. How is it? I know it has a high word count - are they stupidhead words?
thanks boreetos -- stidmatt, pretty fireworks. well done!
Hey stidmama - is stidmatt related?
musicmom! caitlyn just finished, I just got back after a long snooze... doesn't seem awful yet, but then i'm only to 55 words.
MM, there are very few so far. It seems pretty nice if you don't mind adding on obscene amounts of suffixes!
yes, introductions: everyone, meet my 13 -- stidmatt, say hi to everyone.
stidmom is my mom.
bunny - suffixes are a good thing I think. hmmmmm.
Hey matt - your mom's pretty cool. Did you know that? (the correct answer is YES)
Hi stidmatt nice to meet you
Okay. i'm going to go put the casserole together for Greg to heat up for dinner (it's my late teaching night) and finish my lesson plans. I may be back in about an hour. Have fun everyone!
later MM and boreetos : )
Bye boreetos and musicmom
Does anyone know what happened to the person who does babble clues on Babblers Anonymous?
Every now and then, BJ just doesn't get around to it.
BJ posted a message and said that the stat solver is not working right now. :-( but there are still Lickety's clues! :-)
Okay
Reading BJ's last post on Bab Anon there is a problem with his stat generation program, so thank goodness for Licketys version!!!!
Oh yeah. Without Lickety, I'd be sunk.
woo hoo! I'm at 90 words already!
No fair!
GO stidmama GO
LOL
it's not a race against anyone, sweetie, just against myself. I don't usually find words so quickly... :-)
i'm going to log out so my 11 can get on... just a sec.
All I know is if this is a race against just myself, I'm losing! LOL *zooms around looking for clues*
i was watching something and they were talking about kool-aid, and its not strawberry, its RED
in honor of passover, the movie is "Prince of Egypt" from Disney studios
Could anyone help with the ra7/44 and ra9/44. Thanx
hi lola!! I missed you loads too! Work has been overwhelming lately. just in for a bit
Thanks faerie! It's Anj's favourite but lots of other people seem to like it too : )
Squeeeeeeeeeeak! <3 Faerie.
YAY Ouwachita!
Ouwachita I need se 8/40
se8/40...plural fo the se7/28 before it
I don't have 7/28 either :(
;-) Ouwachita, I need the se 7 before the se 8...
Mac and Cheese is ready if anyone wants some. come and get it.
bleugirl...think knives
duh, i wasn't spelling it right
Ouwachita -- TY
Mice like cheese Faerie. Can I bring Pookie over?
{{{Capone}}} No
8(
mice like peanutbutter not cheese, what is wrong with you Capone. didn't you know that.
i like meese. capone, Pooky can come play with Lucky (our new dog)
If you say so. But I may send Pookie over anyway.
Capone you can come over but bring your cats with you.
pookie wouldn't like Michigan Capone. Too cold. He is used to warm weather.
Michigan would agree with Pook. I may be in the neighborhood soon ;), I may turn him loose, just for you to play with.
se 7 is the edge on your cutting knife
Now why would be in the area and just leave pookie at home where he belongs.
Capone I see a word that reminds me of you LOL
Afternoon/evening all.
HAZ! (sorry, didn't mean to yell)
Oh no reason. May decide to talk a long walk this weekend. I'm aka the Easta Bunny you know. You open your colored eggs to find the Pookster, waiting to gnaw (ie give kisses) to your nose.
LOL, Faerie, email me the word.
Is it the Du/6 24?
Ohhhhh I don't like those kinds of easter eggs. Not the ones with the suprises in them....
I'm back for my last 100 words... had a fun Latin class during our picnic!
hi Jera!
um yeah thats the word the du 6/24? NOT
Capone I need a ghost buster.
Why tell me?
Okay I know I'm probably not going to finish but I can't help but start this grid. One, two, three....... plunge.
splash! way to make an entrance, MM!
Because the ghost that is living in my house is starting to get to me. Keeps closing doors and window blinds. I'm getting tired of it.
Hey, stidmama... go for it musicmom!
{{{MusicMom}}}
Faeriekae, are you serious??
Hey everyone.
Jera - you bet I'm serious.
hi mm
stidmama, tell me about your icon...
I'm the wrong person to talk to about ghosts. Demons on the other hand......
it's my interpretation of the parting of the red sea... pretty post-modern...
that's great stidmama.
*light bulb moment* what about the monster kit on BA? we have lots of good stuff in there! I bet some of it would work against ghosts...
no demons here just a ghost or spirit left lingering around.
Okay... looks pink & purple under the less than ideal circumstances of our icons...
What have you tried to do faeriekae?
faerie, tell the ghost in no uncertain terms it's your home, you live there, you pay good money to do so and quite frankly you're fed up with its presence, and tell it go home. Tell it right now would be good.
babbledy babbledy babbler!
hehehe ;D
Whoo-hoo, Babbler! Sage advice...
thanks, Jera. I had to do it once, and it worked.
Thats weird faerie. I just told Greg the other night I thought we had a ghost. I catch 'movement' out of the corner of my eye just about every day since we moved in here.
Or just get a pet mouse.
Ok Babbler - done - I told it, it's not makeing the house payments and I live here and to go away.
Oooo, remind me not to mess with babbler...
lol Lola!!! :D aww, I'm cuddly really.
or Faerie, go one step better and get some ra/4 4!!!!
hi Babbler! love the icon!
Music - I is starting to freak me out a little bit. It is not a scary ghost but I know I'm not the only one here. My dog WATCHES it.
awww, I know babs! {{{{babs}}}} ...still glad you're on my side though, lol! : )
faerie, if it comes back, just get mad and tell it again. I was cooking my dinner when I told mine. I was hungry, tired and in no mood for shenanigans, lol! It never came back.
that would be unnerving.
ooooo-weeeeee---oooooo-weeeeee e----ooooo-weeeeeee
thanks, stid! :D {{{Lola}}} awww
okay faerie, the dog bit would freak me out : /
lol!! what's that? a ghostly panda??
BOO
hey mama! : )
Mamabear! talk about cuddly!
hey mama
no animals are very sensitive, more so than we are. it means there really is a ghost there and you're not imagining it.
Aaargh, gotta go, back later : )
hey mama! hey lola! hey all!
bye lola! later...
hi temple...I'll be back in a bit! : )
hello TO!
catch you later, Lo : )
Hi's and hey's and hugs to all!!!!! (specially my Babbler!!!)
awwww (((( hugs for my Mamabear ))) :D:D:D
{{{mamabear}}}
That happened to me a lot, musicmom, when we lived in an old Victoria. The only ghosts I can really see are cat ghosts. I kid you not. We had a marmalade that would sit on the bottom step of the stairs like it still lived there... so to speak...
Have 29 words... this looks like maybe a fun grid for a change? But I gotta get back to work... later, gators!!!
gee - the gang's here in full force! : D
((mamabear)) bye!
Yeah, they are.... how can I work under these conditions??? OK. I'll sneak in and out.... shhhh!!!!!
Here for the ghost summit, Temple Owl...
lol T-Owl! :D I'm not playing, just wanted to help faerie with her ghost. : )
I'm not kidding Max watches it every day. I only get freaked out when it goes behind me and he watches it over my shoulder. But he followes it around the room with his eyes and it gets near his toys or treats he barks at it.
Is there a clue for the sc 5/22?
faeriekae - have you considered moving???? that would freak me out I think.
That would freak me out, faerie... the watching it go behind me...
could it be a ghost dog? or child? seems pretty gentle for a geist...
Max will run towards the ghost if it is near his toys or treats and look up at it and bark.
I've only lived in this house less than 2yrs.
Hey everybody that came in while I was gridded. 16 q words? Is Dr._God kidding?
Too bad Grey Woulf isn't on, I bet he would have alot to add to the ghostly subject.
merk - it's the little upside down e in linguistics
maybe it's someone who used to live there and they haven't let go of their earthly home yet. Tell it its time to go to its new home now, Faerie, and it'll be gone. : )
Faerie, are you ignoring me on purpose again?
*teehee* musicmom - no joke 16 of those buggers.
{{{Capone}}}
Please, sc 5 ?
ummm is that 16 words that start with qu? or just have qu in them?
Babbler - really???
ooooo... started at the end and not to the q's yet... 16?????? yikes. I like q's almost as much as I do a's.
MERK - clue at 1:24 :)
yes faerie. (just remembered I had to do that too once) : )
16 that start with qu. a whole bunch more with qu in them.
I would try it faeriekae, Babbler seems like she knows what she's talking about!!!! I wish I could go home and just Babble and chat, and Babble and chat.... and chat and Babble.... and.....
Is it sc5/22 you're looking for, Merk?
Gee, and i use to teach phonics. Thanx.
Max and I had a long night of ghost watching last night. It is really bugging him more than it is me. Except if it closes my binds in my computer room one more time I'm getting broom out and going to swat it.
that's the spirit faerie!!! (so to speak! lol) now is the time to say what you have to say. :D
Please REFRESH. I am more appropriately iconed now.
FUN. I hate re but I *LOVE* qu. (not)
Babbler - your serious - Ok, I will do exactly that then. It was bad last night. Just kept Max awake most of the night. He doesn't get on my bed but last night he was like chasing it and jumping on and off the bed and barking at it non stop.
hmmm.... very hard to see, eh?
good, let me know how you get on. (yes I am serious). happy to tell you the stories if you want! : )
Mama - it is Jesus washing the disciples feet - right?
faeriekae - you need to try SOMETHING before your puppster has to go see a doggyshrink!
Mamabear it is a beautiful icon...
Why Oh why did I let myself be talked into playing this grid. I've been here (on and off) for about 9 hours, and I STILL have 153 words to find. I know who to blame, Sprite, Fmitch,Ferrari, Haz, Angelsong, you'd all better watch your backs, be very afraid.................
Yes, musicmom. I was going to change, but if you can see it, I guess it is ok. Thanks!
exwr** did you see yourself in the grid yet?
*mixes ex-wren a stiff drink* there there, honey : )
Hi ExWren - I only have 29 words - you have scared me now.......
thats me all done : )
I like it Mama. I feel for you wren. Bunny pulled me in. Didn't warn me about the qu words.
Ok Babbler - I've told it that it does not live here any longer and to go home. Go away, get out of MY house..Hope it works.
WTG sha!!!!
thank you for the icon compliment, faerie!
crappit - I said a word again!!!!!! Three days in a row. Someone take my log away
YAY sha!
I was my first word! - and the easiest!
Bravo - Sha
good icon, mamabear!
(((faerie))) good for you. I doubt it will return, mine never did, but keep us informed. You might notice the air feel different now?
gotta do a little work. don't do anything fun while I'm gone, k?
st 8/50??
that's certainly a beautiful icon, Mamabear! :D congrats, Sha!! :D
Whew... slayed the Q's... have we solved the ghost problem yet??
Faerie, he's still there.
Babbler - OMG - just went into my bedroom and my blinds are closed AGAIN for the 2nd time today. I even took the wand off about a week ago. Max just now layed down in the hallway like he is exhausted. He seems very calm.
maybe your tenant closed the blinds as she moved out?
that's what I was going to say, stid. if your dog looks like he can finally relax, then I'd say it's gone. : )
is anyone giving clues?
Jera - Babbler is helping me and it may be gone now. Not sure but Max is calm for the first time in a long time.
That reminds me of the movie The Others... keeping the blinds drawn...
woot!!! *does happy dance* :D
Blue-what do you need Hon?
st 8/50
*dancing with Babbler* (*^_^*)
faerie, I was just sitting and reading earlier, but came to the pc for no reason. seems I came to help you! :D
*happy jig*
Jera - haven't seen the movie but I may rent it now that you have my courisity up.
no faerie, don't do that. ;D
st8/50 - very bad smell (plural)
Must have been. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
It might make you feel more compassion for the ghosts... pretty scary, though...
you're very welcome. glad I did something useful today! :D
yay for me -- more than halfway, off to fill in Lickety's page... BBL
...still avoiding the ironing then? ; )
awww - you all are not going to believe this but my bedroom window is now open.
yes, I have compassion for ghosts now. I didn't used to, I used to be terrified. Then the first spirit I told to go away was a little old lady who used to live where I was living. She was in her final week, slipping in and out, and her spirit came to the house, to say goodbye I guess. I was scared and told her to go away. I feel bad about that now.
blinds are still open.
Anj, how many creases on my shirt sleeves? I only like the one, not train tracks! lol ((( Anj)) :D
it'll take you a little while for the anxiety to leave you, but it will and you'll be able to relax in your home soon, Faerie. : )
Ok, i'm going crazy. i've only found 129 words, this is my first time. how do i learn more, etc?
Good grief. How obvious once you know what to look for. Thanks hurshy.
first re4/4 clue, please?
ah, mary mary quite contrary, tyvm!
franny, aside from asking for and picking up clues here in the log, there are many resources. Lickety's Clues in the "Friends of Babble" to the right of this page is what I'm using to keep track of which words I have today. Angelsong's page in the same list of links has resources to help find words and info on how to play...
gah! how can there be six more c's?!?!?!
how does YOUR garden grow?
Hi stidmatt : ) T-Owl : )
marymary, that was an awesome clue!
...anti-gravity, since i'm 3 stories up : ) NASA have been pestering me for the theory... : )
Hi everyone, I thought I would do a quick half hour without the list before House starts.
Boreetos...no, hasn't crossed my frame of reference yet... : )
T-Owl - saw my name and came to see what's up. Actually, you'll be happy to know I was lurking the other day when you suggested these ideas. I put one in. I didn't put summer of love in because I think you said 60s, or disco or something, and they're already in. Have a look at my list, you're somewhere near the end of July. : )
you 2 gals saved my hair! :-P lol
hi all!
check out: www.questionablecontent. net sometime. It's a lot to do with indie music and has a sweet twisted sense of humor, I think you'd dig it.
temple, that re IS quite easy... ; )
hey gem2!!!
I'm back! You didn't know I was gone, did you? New icon - family fun with the 10 plagues!
I have wasted so much time on the three longest re words. re 7/40 re 9/72 re 8/55 Like Mikey, I am ready to pull my hair out, too.
enjoy it!
temple, the last one? that's the same as the middle one but with the last two letters swapped arround : )
man.....the last 'he4,5' and 'he5,12' words.....*nothing* i type is working, and i've tried every possible combo of letters i can see? :-( help again, pretty please? :-/
ok kids, I gotta get back to work. I'll see you al in a little while.
ja, Merk; and i'd have a lot of pulling to do....and a *lot* of pain!!! :-P
Merk. the re7 - you only have to ask ; ) The 8 & 9 build off that : )
lol; unless i just pulled out what's on my head, of course....'no sense, no feeling'.....and all that! :-P
mikey - what do birds live in , change first letter
merk, the re7 is to ask for something. Play around with the ending for the 8 and 9 : )
oh, scatty; thank you *so* very much!!!!! (((((hugs)))))
sheesh; that was so simple, i couldn't see it! :-P
mikey, looove seeing that 'ja' in the chat log! : )
later boreetos : )
mikey, i get stuck on some really easy ones that are staring me in the face
bye, boreetos!
wirklich? warum ist dies, Lola? :-/ and ja, scatty.....always seems to be the simple, obvious ones i don't find on my own.....makes me wonder where my *brain* is?!! :-P
Thank you one and all. I have to get use to jumping around and going around corners. Grrrrr!
ja; can drive you nuts in short order, hmm Merk? ;-)
mikey, ek verlang vreeslik vir die plek waarvan ek kom. Dis lekker om a klein bietjie afrikaans te sien :' )
Are German and Afrikaans close? I did not know that.
mab, yes. Afrikaans is also very close to dutch and Mikey speaks that too : ) ...sorry to be rude, just miss using my old language sometimes :' (
Getting all nostalgic Lo?? Die bussal om drie-huur vanmiddag na Kaapstad vertrek : )
for example: mikey said: 'warum ist dies?' (why is this?) and in afrikaans that would be 'waarom is dis?' : )
LOol...can't speak it OR type it! ...bus sal.... : /
Hi everyone! What was supposed to be a 20 minute run to get taca chips turned into a gab fest. When the sun is out, the neighbors come out to sit on the stoops and talk.
no, lola100; i do not *speak* Dutch, i can merely understand a fair bit of it to read it in print, due to the similarities between it and German.....and less of it when i hear it spoken! and while i can understand some of your Afrikaans to see it in here, not all of it, by any means! :-P lol
The bus? It'll be winter by the time I get there! : )
ja; good example, Lola!!! :-)
ok; really really stuck on the first of the 'ne' words, the first 'ne5,10', anyone.....pretty pretty please? ;-)
la cucaracha la cucaracha doodoodoodoodoodoodoo
oops, sorry mikey! I'm the same with dutch and german, can read some of it but can't understand it when it's spoken! : )
hursh, go put your last radio on!!! : D
ah ha; that makes sense, Lola.....we need to see those other languages in print, ja.....'cos the pronunciation isn't the same, of course!
ooo, deutsch...can I give mikey your great clue for the ne5?? : )
Mikey, someone wwho studies biology is called a bi******* someone who studies ne is called a ne*** (Same ending)
evening all. How many words are we looking at?
great clue deutsch! Anyone mind if I open the babble bar?? } )
vielen Dank, Deutsch!!! :-D
Lola.....do you use yahoo or msn messenger?
yay, that was my last N
It's yours to use anytime, Lola!
or any of you nice people i chat and Babble with, for that matter? :-)
all done, that was a long one
mikey, I have AIM.... : )
Yea! for scatty!
Try #2: evening all. How many words are we looking at?
ah, i see, Lola; i hardly use that one, 'cos i don't like it much.....and most of my friends are on yahoo or msn, or both! :-/ but i have the same user name on AIM and yahoo as i'm using in here! :-)
268
I have yahoo, mikey
schwer - 268 words today Hi Sis
thanks hurshy
Hey, has anyone used a2z recently??
Missed the start of House updating my profile, will I ever be able to catch up? See you later :)
*gasp* Anj! a2z!
anj not recently. If I get stuck, and I often do, I use morewords. Pretty icon.
oh good lola, i'm glad i'm not the only one who's shocked :)
later days, katie
I did register with msn awhile ago....let me see I can remember my sign in name etc.... : )
te 8/40 anyone?
you do, Deutsch? :-) then add me, if you like; you can just copy/paste my username right from here :-)
I'm just using it check my spelling ; ) Anyway, the back button needs to go into overdrive now as the page refreshes each time the adverts change. It's a pain in the ar4/4 having to use the home link everytime : /
i have the same sign in address for both yahoo and msn: mikeyinberlin@yahoo.de
te8 is the plural of the te6 before it : )
got the te 8/40...nevermind
well I'm shocked.....
it isn't''warum ist dies''-it is ''warum ist das''.if you use german[or any other language]use it properly.
the last 10% of the words are killing me.
excuse me, ecco-05; but it is, if you're asking 'why is this', rather than 'why is that'!
*gives hurshy shoulder rub*
aw, so sweet of you loly :)
the boys must all be at practice, last.fm isn't being jumpy :)
hursh, has it gotten rid of the cuccaracha??
why would i WANT to get rid of la cucaracha???
listen to last hursh, just listen to last.... ; )
i am... but i still love my cockroach :)
does anybody know how many words this time actually use qu?
16
but there are more.. i meant contain it at all
sorry-it is never''dies''--it is always''das'',what ever you ask.german is my native language-is it yours?
i have 14 that use it so far besides the ones that start with it
Mikey, are you on msn alot, i have it on most of the day
me too, sjh
sjh, 16 start with the qu - at least another 16 use the qu as well : )
well i'm sorry, 'ecco-05'; but you haven't been to this country much then, have you? that's like saying it's always 'why is that?' and never 'why is this?' lol
I don't even think I know that many words with qu haha
i have 26 words to go... so there can't be more than forty that use it (not counting the 16), lol
my native German partner is having a good chuckle here right now; as am i, whose mother is from this city, born and raised.....and i've lived here for the past 5 & 1/2 years, too; and i can tell you, that people do ask that as well.....so; i have no idea where *you* learned your German, but don't presume to tell me what is and isn't so, sheesh!
For real, why will it not accept "tard?"
mikey do you want my msn address
ecco05, afrikaans is my second language. I don't speak it perfectly, does that mean I shouldn't use it at all??
ok peeps - i have one left but i just cannot see it : ( the second re word re4/4 - i have abbreviation for what you might do in your leisure time, and the re7 meaning ask...
ecco, does that mean you shouldn't speak english because your english isn't perfect?
temple...it's like where anne of green gables lived, pl, except for the first letter... does that help?
can we change the subject, and speak in English only, hee hee
well, Lola; i speak German as well as my native German mother, who taught it to me all my life from the time i learned to speak.....and as well as my relatives here, and Heinrich, my partner :-)
temple, do you have the re with two vowels?
non non ... je crois qu'on peut parler seulement francais maintenant
si tu veux
lola - i KNOW that word! i plead brain overload! : D DONE
and why can one speak only French now, Atlante? :-/ lol
mikey, I'm sure you speak it beautifuly! Just objecting to being told not to use a language unless you can do so perfectly.
elle s'amuse
you might believe so, but i don't ;-) hehe!
ecco vs. Mikey: so far ecco is showing the more authentic German attitude, whereas I think we're all a little skeptical now that Mikey and his partner are just doing some role-playing thing for kicks.
ah no idea LOL its one language no-one's mentioned so far!
Yea, for temple owl! Oh, and I teach English grammar. And I make mistake. LOL
j'aime menhirs
I fute-a fur Svedeesh Cheff es zee ooffffeeciel Bebble-a lungooege-a. Bork Bork Bork!
oh; but i can and do, Lola.....unlike *someone* in here, obviously, sheesh! perhaps he should come here and teach all the Germans how to speak their own language now? :-P
menhirs? ca c'est un peu bizarre, hurshy!
Shwer, maybe you could read Mikey's profile in German, test his accuracy there! LOL
je sais, mais c'est vrai
etre bizarre, c'est une bonne chose :-)
c'est bon. j'aime bien menhirs aussi
is there an argument brewing about the German "dees, dem, and doos"???? My, my.
bokgrl : i believe that's bJork - bJork- bJork LOL!
Well said! Right, anyone for boeretroos?
excuse me, schwer? why should we be 'role playing'? good grief; get a life.....don't you have anything better to do than that?
*thinks: oh boy, what have I started??*
je veux un menhir pour mon jardin
Anj, I hope you are trying to be funny.... LOL! : D
72, Thet vuoold be-a zee Nurvegeeun cheff lungooege-a... Bork Bork Bork!
i think i'll just turn the chat off; since miserable 'people' with no lives and nothing better to do than try to create 'drama' can't be put on 'ignore' in here, more's the pity! :-/
don't Mikey!
...and you can't have a wors-roll 'til you learn to say it properly! ; )
a tout a l'heure, mikey!
i dont think anyone should comment on how anyone speaks, my vocab is terrible when i write things down, if i don't mind, no one else should
mikey, please don't go!
bookgrrl: my borhter's inlaws are swedish - it's Njork ( she's a snappy dresser, too!)
whoops - i am a lousy typist - LOL! *nudges bookgrrl*
they'll go away in a minute Mikey
...i've bean hejukated : D Language is a minefield anyway. I mean, why isn't phonetic spelt the way it sounds?? : )
any one need a clue
temple, if you can't say bjork properly then you shouldn't listen to her! ; )
LOL, LOLA!
!!!! I do NOT sound like that Anj....LOL! : D
anj - anyone knows it spelled - spelt is grain!! LOL!
Lo, I was referring to me : )
hopefully, Atalante; and find someone else to bother, or some other toys to play with :-/ and sorry for mis-spelling your name previously!!! :-P
Mikey, how many do you have to get
lol don't worry - everyone does!
Oh. That's okay then Anj. Are you nearly finished? : ) xx
LOL T-Owl...that's the classic : ) Another reason not to trust spellchecker : D
from now on only people able to spell Atalante's name PROPERLY will be allowed to speak with her...
Mikey, come back! Paranoics and pathological perfectionists may go, but you stay!
16 to go, but i'm just about to have a tea-break as my brain is beginning to sabotage my spelling 8 D
LMAO. and only people who can specak more than a few words of Afrikaans will be allowed to address Lola.
Ja! : )
oh no!
If I had to choose between a bored overweight North American housewife and Heinrich, I guess I'd be switchin' teams as well!
does anyone want any clues before i go
wr8/70 please?
eek gads!!! I've been using sign language for the past 5 minutes & no one responded... hi everyone!! 00 \_/
scatty, how about 126 clues? LOL
Hi EB : )
Hi eastern! I wish I knew sign language
wr6 pl for the 8
he he he, EB!
Deusch, i don't have enough room for that amount of clues, sorry
Rats! I did not get the wr6 either!
I wish I could 'speak' another language besides English...I took Latin in HS & French in college (but I didn't do very well!!)... *sigh* I'm envious of anyone who knows more than 1 language!!
pull something really hard, or a toolfor wr8and 6
Deutsch - I'm certainly not as fluid & graceful as an interpreter or native ASL 'speaker', but I can fumble my way through conversations... : )
Very excellent! Thank you!
scatty, LOL good for you, EAstern Mab, are you queen of the fairies?
Hi EB! Sorry about disappearing, little one has just been sick : /
Lola, is he better now?
oh, no! {{{{lola's little one}}}} I hope she's feeling better soon!!
I'm sorry, She?
Well, Deutsch, I am, however I'm not really into hierarchies so much.
oy, finally got back. that storm has done SOMETHING to my computer.
Yeah, I think so. She's been coughing a lot and I think it irritated her throat.
mab - that might be confusing when faerie is around!! tee hee hee!!
mikey-are you such a timid soul that one word of correction makes you shut up shop and run?i don't think so.
hi nut!! welcome back! (I'm not doing the grid today - too much work & too little time...) So I'm just chattin'!!
hey ecco, this is a friendly place and we try not to judge each other. Please play nice : )
nut, are you still in kansas?? : )
well said lola
lo - blessed are the peacemakers!! 8 )
* kansas! * uh, no...but there is this lovely road.
need anymore clues, if not i'm off to watch a film, i'd prefer to chat though
Have fun, scatty!
nut, don't forget to take your little dog with you...
Why so cranky ecco? Your angry attitude is really unacceptable. Have you some agenda that is not readily evident. Snap out of it, or go take some deep breathes.
later scatty : )
er, he's not to fond of being carried, and at a hundred pounds, if he wiggles, he wins
yellow brick by any chance
Hello All -seems such a long time since I got to chat. A late start, tho' they say it is better to travel hopefully than arrive don't they?
*clears throat* follow the yellow brick road... follow the yellow brick road... follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick road...
evening Snowy : )
who has 'run' anywhere, ecco? i was busy here; and just returned.....you're the one who was corrected, but perhaps i just have better things to do than engage you in your craving for a 'fight'.....why don't you run along and find something better to do, hmm? *yawn*
Hi I'm back. House was excellent, I now have a glass of chilled white wine no work for 4 days and all night to solve the grid. Life doesn't get much sweeter!!
aw; thank you for asking, scatty.....but not at present, as i'm kinda back and forth to and from the desk here.....we're talking and attending to some things here at the moment; probably won't have time to finish before bed now, anyhow.....but btw, scatty; do you use yahoo or msn messenger?
mikey, I got my msn up and running : )
chix, i'm in im now, but it kept going out last time, so i'm not sure i'm in/in, you know
MIkey - I'd love to perform professionally...while I can sing fairly well - it's not quite the level of most pros! (nor do I have the "look" : ) being a little on the chunky side!!)
Hi Mikey, EB, Deutsch, oggy and Lola and anj
whooohooo, Lola; congratulations! :-D hehe!
Oh Scatty now you've done it!! I believe it is a seder plate - foods that are allowed to be eaten at passover -but am very willing to stand corrected!
And nut and I are chopped liver, chic? (kidding)
: P
hi chic! : )
katie - don't know how you can watch that show...every time I've seen it, there's been some gross (bloody) weirdo disease!!! yikes!
aw; well EasternBlue, i don't think one's 'look' should even matter.....that doesn't make a wonderful performance, in my opinion; one of my favourite vocalists is probably a few of you in size i'd bet, and she's marvellous.....and enjoying a very successful career, too! :-)
i'm not cranky,i have no attitude[angry or otherwise].i have no hidden agenda[what-are we playing spies]?ijust wanted to correct one word--big deal?
Hi KatieW we've just come back on after being on and off all day - should be finished by Tuesday!!
mikey, i use msn,its r_jbourne@tiscali.com
snowy - it does look like it...but that's only because I was searching for pix earlier & saw it online...as a Catholic girl, I don't know for sure!! 8 )
mab, i was in barns and noble last night, but i forgot my 'babble booklist', so i couldn't remember to get emotionally weird. i was so disappointed.
EasternBlue - there was some gruesome drilling of brains tonight but I just closed my eyes until it was over :)
Mab, hello, are you pushing plagues now?
katie - EEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww www!!
Ok, ecco, let's just start over from here. Hi ecco!
mikey, did you see my msn add
'nut, your IM says to me that you need to sign in your offline to me...
Hi Mari - tried to phone you earlier but you were on the phone, how are things? London was soooooo busy but meeting was good.
Hallelujah! I just spent the last 30 minutes tracing 6 words I wrote into the Lickety list and forgot to enter. Is this a senior moment event or does sit happen to other babblers? Anyway, i have finished--after hesitating to takcle this big a puzzle this morning.
congrats, inge! still toiling listlessly away over here. :(
well done inge
I saw the fun with plagues on google, and, well, I was shocked a little and amused. Let me put on my bag o' plagues, hang on.
@*@*@*@Way to go Inge *@*@*@
congrats, inge!!
Well done Inge - I've just finished too and my divorce is pending!
Katie - all's well - guess who I was on to - twice!!? Glad you had a good day
congrats inge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, Mab, Happy Passover!!!
clues on all those ce words??
see chix...something is amiss!
woo hoo inge!! hurshy - listless as in 'without a list' or are you are languid?? If the latter - here's a Coke to perk you up!! 8 )
I'm back... what did I miss?
the former and a bit of the latter, auntie - thanks for the offer but i don't drink brown soda - got a sprite or something? :)
hurshy - sure!! I don't usually drink anything with caffeine... *passes Sprite (the drink, not our fellow Babbler) to hurshy*
specifically ce 6/24
oh hey, Jera; welcome back!!! :-)
i could use sprite the babbler about now too :)
hi Jera!
i miss babsy!
ce 6/24 sounds like first name of harry potter's godfather
Anj? How you doing babe??
...in mortal combat with the Us... : /
Hey, I'm back. someone in germany suggested I upgrade yahoo. wow!
thanks, hurshy!
yeah what is with them anj - 3 easy ones and then i'm completely stuck!!!
thanx hurshy!
a word that didn't *need* any correction, ecco.....and *you* are the one who has made a big deal out of nothing, sheesh! and thank you, btw; 'cos you've given Heinrich and i the best and biggest laugh we've had today, i'd say! :-D lmao!!!
Anj, don't forget your P's and.... ; )
i swear i tried that before lola, but thanks
Well, Mickey, my husband and I chuckled along with you. He is a Germanic professor emeritus, I am a retired German instructor. Happens all the time.
still leaves 2 though
Here is my bag o' plagues. Fun, huh?
...already have those babe : )
Anj - the entire country??
oh really, Deutsch? :-o wow; i wonder who that could be??? you shouldn't really speak to people in Deutschland you know, Deutsch.....they don't know how to speak 'Deutsch' apparently! ;-) hehe; can't stop laughing over that one!
lol; yes, Inge.....i'm sure you did!!! :-D
it's the last 2 ce ones
babe, try adding opp of common?
yay for lola!!!
Mikey, did you find my msn to add to yours
Me too, Anj!
ingy thingy!
Yes, and now I need to send a file. Back in a mo
*lola shakes her pom poms!!!*
Same with Englisch. Das ist weird.
EB...LOL! : D ...the entire country...*shakes head*
...woot! Us have been subjugated and I stand tall, proud, with a suitably ripped t-shirt to look good on the posters : )
hah! genau!
*lola swoons*
ha! Well said, stidmatt.
The last line was English/Deutsch polyglot.
hi all... still didn't ce6/24... is there a double consonant in the middle?
...hey! isn't that MY t-shirt??
all i ever learned in German was to order drinks in a pub
Ok I am being really thick (but I know you will all forgive me this) but what is MSN and do you need to pay to use it? (honestly I do hold down a responsible job!! :) )
*crawls out from under her desk, looks outside window & sees the slain residents of her country as decimated by Mr. Anj*
this game is pimp just like me!
es6? es7?
no there isn't walnut :) (unless there's more than one...)
Very busy this afternoon... I can't see anyone's icon it's changing faster than it can fully load!
ce6...ce4/5 plus 'them or ***' : )
es 6 is when the bunny visits
I went to Germany a few weeks ago and the only German I needed was please and thank you and white wine!! Lovely people fantastic visit
thansk lola
es6...es plus **** grilled : )
ummm, ce6...ce4/5 plus 'them or ***' : )??
I'd love to travel outside my own country... thinking of making a run up to Canada when it gets too hot down here... it's only about a 9 hour drive!
jbp, or...the first two letters of where our american friends are from?
katie - MSN (or AIM or Yahoo! Messenger) are all instant message (or IM) tools...it's like Babble chat without the game...
loly, he's just teasing you bc you used 3 asterisks instead of 2
EasternBlue - thank you I will give it a go.
thanks jbp!
Ich spechen genau kleine deutsch. Stidmama speche Guten tag!
ja; of course, KatieW.....most people here speak English as well.....except perhaps some of the more elderly generation; the younger people have learned it in school, of course :-)
good grief, LOL! Well, I suppose if I can't use asterixes (sp??) PROPERLY.....
lo lo lo lo Lola, I got that one. it's the last 2 ce ones that are thwarting me
ok... just two left... cr5/22 and es5/10 (I have the one that sounds like the day when the bunny visits... need the other one!)
i'm off to Holland at the end of May and to Germany in August to stay with a friend
Jera - I've been really lucky and been to some absolutely fantastic places abroad, mind you your country is a touch larger than ours!!
any help would be great. thanx
'ich spreche', stidmatt ;-) otherwise, not too bad! :-)
es 5/10 prounounce second letter, make pl cr 5/22 welsh, no vowels :)
the last two ce's sound like opp of brother and end in vowel and vowel plus plural : )
I love your little 'ja,' Mikey.
danke.
walnut, cr5, its the green stuff that is always served with any kind of food in a restaurant
do you mean the jewish queen at Purim aka something we learned about in biology with lipids and stuff?
looks like clover
Walnut, I am missing that pesky cr 5/22 as well.
Mikey - what most impressed me was that they could go into such good technical detail when showing us round the sites and factory in a second language, it really made me feel bad about the my lack of skill.
'Stidmama sagt Guten Tag', oder 'Stidmama sprecht sehr gut'?
mab, I love his 'ja' too! no wait, isn't that how this whole thing started?? ; )
Mental block--green stuff in a restaurant?
walnut, es5 , es4 then use second letter twive
Stidmama sagt Guten Tag.
no merk, that is not the 5/22. the 5/22 has no vowels. just monkey for the points.
sure, KatieW; but when you learn another language all through school from the time you start til you graduate, or at the very least from about the age of adolescence til the time you finally graduate school altogether, well.....you should be very fluent/conversant in it by then.....plus, watching TV shows from English-speaking countries helps, too :-)
Merk: water cr5/7(pl)
cr5/22...no vowels! cr plus 'come **** us' but leave out the vowel : )
merk, really small green stuff, looks like clover, or what women wear in the summer(all in one) change the first letter
stidmatt - please say hi to stidmama for me!!
And what does that cr word mean anyway?
Lola-great clue!!!
ach.....ok, stidmatt; ich verstehe jetzt! ;-)
Parsley???
Merk -it is a Welsh word for crowd
gut.
Thanx. I got it.
cr5/22 are in the nine leftland corner of grid(top)
sorry RIGHT hand corner
Merk: I guess its an instrument? "the crwth is a medieval bowed lyre and ranks as one of wales's most exotic traditional instruments. it has six strings tuned g g' c' c d' d'' and a flat bridge and fingerboard. the gut strings produce a soft purring sound, earthy but tender. the melody is played on four of the six strings, with the other two acting as plucked or bowed drones and the octave doublings producing a constant chordal accompaniment. "
Mikey did you get my msn
sorry didn't mean to post the answer! doh!
well; not going to finish this grid tonight.....we're off to bed now, like good little boys! ;-) hehe!
well no-one should have trouble with that word any more!
Gut nacht Mikey.
oh sorry, Scatty; no, i didn't? :-/ you can add me, if you lik, by this address: mikeyinberlin@yahoo.de
'bye mikey : )
ach; make that 'if you like'.....my typing suffers at this late hour! :-P
Mikey - so long, farewell, auf weidersein (I know the spelling is incorrect!!)...goodnight...!!
sorry sorry... copy and paste, thats what happens..! doh!
Goodnight Mikey
evening all - i'm languishing on 173 words and finding it very slow going. Can anyone give clues for the ur's?
Later Mikey.
stidmatt: gute Nacht, oder gut'nacht! ;-)
ok, have a good night, see you tomorrow
lol walnut, its probably a good thing for everyone's sake!
okay.
hi sandr! I'm of no use for the grid...I'm just here to chat today!!
Katie... it's much more convenient to visit another country when the countries are smaller! Going to another country for you is like going to another state for us!
night Mikey! Wow walnutchen! The def I got was just -middle Welsh for crowd LOL! Languages don't come much more weird than Welsh !
EasternBlue: 'auf Wiedersehen' :-)
Thanks for the kind words, Atalante... as a seasoned Babbler, I should know better!
yep eastern i knew i shouldn't have started when i saw the count, but by that time i'd already started inputting words!
cr5/22 is NOT A WORD
Temper Temper Mari!!! It's a good job the answer was posted otherwise I would have been here until Tuesday trying to find it.
ur 6: ur + 1st and 3rd person plural form of to be, next one is plural.
thanks Mikey!! g'night to you & Heinrich!!
hi all -- back for a little. Mikey: stidmama sprecht nur ein bischen... aber versteht mehr...
sandr - I' m resisting by NOT looking at the grid!! : )
Refresh for a picture of a guy holding a cr5/22... FYI
auf wiedersehen Mikey!
Anj? Are you still awake??
hi stidmama...!! Mikey might be gone...
I think Mickey has called it a loooong day, and has gone night-night.
Mikey, are you leaving? Good night!
lola - he battled the entire US...I think he's exhausted!! : )
hello EasternBlue! what does your icon say? it's pretty.
LOL!
stid - I'm not really sure...it was on a website describing Passover...I thought it was pretty too, that's why I picked it!!
It says Pesach.
thanks mab!! Happy Passover!
thanks mab!
Thank you EB, and a happy Easter to you.
Just off net-trotting. Off to soditoku then???
Bye Eastern!
Bye EB - lovely to see you again!! (((X)))
So long EasternBlue!
Bye Lola - have fun!!!!!! Hopr to see you again over the Easter weekend. If not - Happy Easter - Think of me - got 10 for lunch on Sunday
Oh well, worth asking... you have a better chance than me... I'm sticking to bagpipes!
We could probably make a fair old sound between us then Jera!
atalante, you around? 18 left...you?
wah! I wish! 40
make that 16.
LOL - Ive got 182!!!
I play recorder extremely badly. May I join the band, Jera and snowy? If we all play badly, maybe people will think we're just very exotic.
ata how come you've been "away" for so long?
I've got 91.
Is anyone else having problems with at 4/4?
dunno really! did soduko. had dinner. walked the dog. tried drawing coruscant. etc!
good for you, sweetie! do you think you can top 100 today?
it's just ... the motel in psycho without the first letter
You'd be very welcome Mab! LOL If we busked perhaps people would pay us to go away!
No, 191. WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
Happy, Passover and Easter, fellow Babblers.
hello Judi! are those green peeps?
Oh, I found it. I didn't know you could put a plural on a past tense. Still learning here.
how's the pic coming out?
Hello Judi
Hi Judi!
hi snowy! going home now - won't return to work until tuesday! happy appropriate holiday to all!
it'll get there I think
Hi Judi. Love peeps.
Stidmama, they are indeed PEEPS. Supposed to be yellow, but- the picture is a little green.
How about the Babbler Band... let's make it as widespread culturally as possible... shoot, I'll give the cr5/22 a shot... I play the zither...
mmmmmmmmmmmmmjudi - now i will have to get s ome for the ride home - lol~
Happy Days Off, TempleOwl! :-) Happy Spring!
Personally, I hate all things marshmallow, but they are fun to torture in the microwave.
Greens are good for one, Judi. Happy holidays, Temple! Bye.
Bye TO have a lovely holiday!!!!!!!!!!
I can strum guitar, jera
mab, been trying to figure out your icon... my eyes aren't as focused as i wish.
check this out: www.peepresearch.org
Are you still on Mari? How many have you got left to go?
I play the piano very poorly. But i'm a virtuoso in babble land Hi again
So let's weigh in on a timely issue... PEEPS... yea or nay?? A big NAY for me... they are like munching sand...
LOL Jera I would probably be better on the tambourine -I always wanted one with ribbons.
or this - this one is the bomb! www.millikin.edu/staley/fluff/ peep_research.html
I'm sorry I should read the chat more closely before jumping in...
oh, the Peeps have their own website with flash media, and you can send free peep cards too. Don't have the website, but you could google it.
I play the Trumpet and Piano.
peeps -- yay, if only for the "gross" factor! the only crunchy/sandy/sweet/stale candy that's ever been so popular!
Tell them what you play Mom!
You got it snowy... we made some in Girl Scouts, ribbons & all!
s'okay, jera -- I vote NAY on peeps too, but my beloved loves them.
these are experiments using peeps - like nuking them
*whispers* sssshhhhhhhhhh.. . Gwyd has fallen asleep...
Any clues for Ch 6/33, 7/48 & 8/65 (I am assuming they are all related) Pls.
peeps -- good in small quantities, like eating granulated sugar straight from the bag, except sticky. Zither! That's great Jera.
two thumbs way up on the peeps issue!
Nuking peeps is an EAster Tradition where we celebrate!
*gives Temple Owl all the peeps in my Easter Basket*
im giving up at 182. have a fabulous holiday weekend all. Enjoy.
katie, to pay your bill you write a ch6 to play a game "king me!" you need ch8 (ch7 singular)
What happens when you nuke them? Do they explode? *chortles evilly*
Katie you sign enough of them!!
We could do quite well then stidmatt! Can you play them both together!lol My daughter oplays piano & violin & recorder. There is a video of her in a time capsule, buried somewhere, playing the recorder through her nose. Not a pretty sight!
very poorly -- recorder, crumhorn, piano, guitar, pennywhistle, chanter, fife/flute... quite surprisingly good at singing, though!
mmumhmmmm... *waves bye to sandr*
Maybe we should put my Sprite on the cr5/22... she plays violin...
Bye sandr. A happy holiday to you as well!
ok, asking for help now. i have ra9 and re9, what is the other?
It's fun to watch, Jera! They don't really explode so much as grow in size.
Happy easter -sandr! Gosh stidmama -you could be a one woman band!
wh9/84
Oh my... like circus peanuts?
mari - frighteningly I got that one straight away. Fuggles is now up and in his ball.
refresh!
hi kids!!!
Hi! Does anyone know how many Q's there are TOTAL today (not just first letter)? Just wondering. Thanks.
Hurshy - thanks for the clue, but clearly Mari knows me well!! :)
Hi boreetos!
I can't believe it. I finished before suppertime. But not without your help. Thanx so much one and all. Again, after 268 words, I wish there were bells and whistles.
PEEPS!!!!
hey d, hows it going?
evening all how goes it? I was hoping for a clue for the ch 7 or the 8 pls and ty
Ur 5 and 6... clues? Because I sure have no idea.
tweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!! (whistle) ding dong ding dong!!!! (bells)
sheryl r, good one for that ch just below in the log, for the ch6 -- now just add endings...
16 Q's Harp!
does the 9 start like the 7's???
Hi boreetos! congrats Merk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Hi Sheryl!
yup
~~~~~MERK~~~~~~ ~~~FIREWORKS~~ ~~
i thought i TRIED that before!!! ok got it.
a clue for the ra9 in return?
We get good mileage from the Qu today!
now how could u not love creatures as adorable as this?
similar trick with ra7 :)
boreetos, Mikey has been keeping me away from babble. But I never finish the big ones, anyway. How's by you?
Ur cluesd: add the third person plural form of to be
wah! haven't got the ra7 yet!
the state of being uncooked...
Ra 6 ff. all have to do with uncooked meat
pretty splendid, no I never finish them either. That's not really my intent most of the time though. Most of the time its just for the silliness and whatnot.
Yay Merk!!!!!!!!!!!
15 to go and 5 of them 8's... :(
I agree, boreetos. We can get rather silly Yea! Merk!
CorrectionL ra 5, 7 and 9 have to do with uncooked
I have to create something for supper. Will be back later to help
i must be dense can't get that clue
YAY Merk!
peeps are all glippy when they get nuked!
See you later, Inge!
Glippy is a good word, harpjane!
Sorry to repeat, but I need a clue for the ur5 & 6. Assuming the 6 is a plural.
yes glippy. i dont get that ra uncooked clue either, I mean U think i get the first three letters, but where to go there has be boggled.
bye inge...
sheryl -the stat of being happy is happi**** The state of being uncooked is ra*****
Yes, glippy is a new babble word! Check out the log at the flip!
RA words: same three beginning letters, 5 add the adverb ending, 7 make noun of it, 9 pluralize,
ur5 - a deadly poison without the c at the beginning (just had to say that)... u + uncommon
ack, the dreaded 14 again!
lol, snowy ty for the word but i am working on the ch 7 I know it has something do do with a game "king me"
Thanks, snowy, that one did it!
that makes much more sense!!!
there are two games in the puzzle that use the same board ch5 and ch8 :)
Sheryl -- it's a British spelling, not American (can't remember which one you maple leafs use)
Thanks, Hurshy. Thought I tried that earlier. Apparently not!
got it thank you was not thinking of that one, but the other
always the brit spelling
oh yeah, I got a 9... only 2 9s, 6 8s, 9 7s.... and assorted smaller ones to go!
poisen, huh? You know iocane powder is one the more deadly poisens known to man.
Whew... finally got all the nasty little ch's...
Princess Bride Boreetos?
I am soooooooooo glad today is "Friday", lol, the afternoon at work just dragged and dragged
but iocane comes from australia, as everyone knows, and australia is entirely peopled with criminals, and criminals are not trusted - as you are not trusted by me!
"inhale this, but do not touch" "I smell nothing" "what you do not smell is called Iocane powder. Tasteless, odorless and dissolves instantly in liquids."
I wasn't thinking of the ch8 = the game, I was thinking people who write ch6/33's
truly you have a dizzying intellect.
We watched for the umpteenth time on Sunday last & I finished the book about a month ago.
you commited on of the classic blunders! the most of which is never get incolved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well known is never go in against a Cicilian when death is on the line!!!!!
lmao the cr 5 is a funny word
wa 6/30 and us 6/30? please?
they were both poisoned. i spent the last few years building up an immunity to iocane powder.
whee, 13!
who are you? i am no one to be trifled with.
us 6/30 is plural of us 5/18.
hey leslie!!
okay, so I need help on the us 5 too...
hullo.
wait til I get going! speaking of which, break time is over, and I must return to work. Thanks for sharing in the Princess Bride related shenanigans. that's a great movie. See you all on Monday. Have a great weekend and an awesome Easter!!!!
HI LeslieAnn
the fact that nobody has asked for clues for the 13 i have left all day long worries me. they must be obvious.
Have a good weekend Boreetos

Any clues for the dr 6/39 and the next dr 5/20 please
I brought three white horses in case you found the lady and i see you found the lady hello lady

KatieW, we are at about the same place on the puzzle...
i am missing a 6/7 combo i think. what is the weirdest?
wow! wr 8/70
The last entry was the clue for Katie W.
hursh, the first two qu plus two vowels etc : )
Plural of wr 6/36.
i can't keep my eyes open... naptime. see you later!
night, mama
stidmatt & hursy - TY TY TY
later stid!
say that slower loly... am i supposed to do qu plus 2 vowels, or the second qu word plus two vowels?
*bleat*
Please please I only need 3 - re7/40 re9/72 re8/55 then I can go to bed!!
ah, nvm, got them.
sorry hursh! qu plus **** dynamic...or a yummy chocolate bar but ending in a different vowel : )
bark
mari - you just made an re7 of us, so you are an re9, and after this you'll be done so you won't make any more re8
sweet dreams stidmama
Sorry Mari I don't have any of them. Fuggles is now in his playpen & very unimpressed!
moo?
missing one d - what's weird? :)
i cant get the wr/8
Mari, they are all based on the re7 word meaning to ask : )
thanks!
okay hurshy, what are you missing?
wr8 - present tense verb form of word meaning either a tool used in mechanical things or to take something from one's grasp
Hurshy and Anj thanks a million pass the fish!!
1 D, 1 S, 2 C, 2 E, 2 R, 3 T from the bottom
d plus opp of busy time?
Anj?? :D
got that loly
HI Babs : )
You forgot "So long!"
Hurshy - how many th's do you have?
Phew! I've never seen so many q's
Hi Haz & Babbler!
all of em mac, that's why i said 3 t's from the bottom :)
Good evening,snowyowl!
Anj, I had a problem with my pc and I'm running avg. found 2 viruses. Java/OpenStream. One is embedded, the other is in archive. Isee from the net I don't have to worry about the archive one, but what do I do about the embedded one? do you know? :D:D:D
hurshy - you're missing the tr's then?
maybe - i only have 2 tr 5/10's...
mac, there are ten th's
you need tr8/40
she knows, exwren :) she's playing "guess what hurshy would miss"
I keep getting distracted. Hi to all yet again.
Babs, Java files, especially the .jar files are shown as viruses with AVG regularly. I usually delete my .jar folder in Java before running AVG as it restores itself when you connect on-line anyway : )
Thank you ExWren, I know. I'm done with the grid... I'm just helping hurshy
thanks Anj. :) how do I do that? delete .jar files from Java?
Hi Ex Wren
ExWren - your icon is so appropriate for today! :)
is it a normal word?? :)
got it got it!
hurshy - add on to one of the 5/10's
Sorry mac, I thought | was being helpful. I can't believe anyone has finished, I still have 112 to find!
lol, you always get it before I can answer
ok so the other 2 t's are te or ta if that's all the tr's. i have 8 te's
yeah, think slower hurshy!
No problem ExWren - I always appreciate help :)
lol leslie
Hurshy - surely you have the two ts's
Yes mac, but today it also applies to te's and se's etc.
yes mac so te or ta
lol, so true, ExWren
do you have the te8/40?
yup
8 te's...
both of them?
this puzzle is biased against pirate-speak... won't take "thar" as in "thar she blows"
Babs, just use your explorer. It's under: Local drive C: documents and settings your name applications data Sun Java Deployment Cacje Javapi v1.0 (or whatever) Jar - just delete that folder.
no you didn't say there were 2!! :) ok i have te 8/40 latin pl of prev te7
You're missing two te's
Taking a break for dinner with 40 to go... gonna be a close one if I do get to finish!
maybe a 6 with an es pl for 8?
the other te8 looks like a double plural of the word above it... a te6/18
Ok it pains me to do this but I am giving up for the night. it is nearly midnight and the white wine is starting to kick in. Have a good Easter and I will see you tomorrow, though will be on early as I am going out tomorrow night.
swet dreams katie
bye katie!
bye katie!
hmm... only way i can think to make a double pl is terresae which ain't going
oh got it but now i still need one other cause i had that 6
not that te6/18

Good Evening! Anyone got a clue for the ce6/24, cr5/22, and the second dr5/20? They would bring me to only #%^* 100 to go!
15
there you go!
ce 6/24 sounds like harry potter's godfather's name cr 5/22 has no vowels, welsh instrument
ty mac, got 'em! all done now!!!! :) :) you're the best!
no vowels!! that's ridiculous
dr5/20 if somebody goes on and on about something, it is long and dr*** out

8 hours ish... same as yesterday but more words, so not that bad i guess... grid was nicer
Thanks mac,
oh, i think she's gone already but it's ok leslie, i will pop over to sudoku and give it to here there
oh my, the typo and the rampant use of grid words is appalling
whew, hursh, now I don't feel soooo out of my league! --Book
book - if i had gotten the list when i slowed down i would estimate it would have taken about 2 hours.
i spent at least 5 of the hours on the last 26 words... :)
Sorry I'm late to the party.. How many words total?
i've gotten about 70 words with only using the list for a few words. now i'm stuck so i have to break out the list. i don't see any way i'll finish this
268
A mere 268, dew
Only 167 left. Great! How many points. I am looking for a moral victory and have been scoring big with some words.
4821 are available
4821 points
How many words today?

Hi everyone. I am having trouble finding the st8. Can anyone help. Please.
st8 bad smells
oh my, it's marigold, the eldest of the elders
st 8 rhymes with wr 8
oh -- and hi!
hi mama, have some good dreams?
so-so. kept hearing the kids "discussing" a game... :-)
Hi hurshy. Got it right away with your clue
Thanks hurshy
'tis an honor to chat with you, marigold.
Me to. You always seem to give me the right clue.
*blush* don't compliment me, you'll inflate my head and i'll not be able to get out the door
okay, I am going to start asking for cluse... (fair warning) I am stuck on (don't laugh) the last ar 7/28 and about 85 others...
ar7/28 - comparative adjective related to the preceding ar4/4
Haz, thanks! I must have monkeytyped around that a hundred times! (fish, please)
Ask away stid and then I can take the answers. hehehee. Hi all. Just got home from teaching. Greg and the girls are watching a movie I've already seen so I'm going to play.
hi again musicmom!
Glad to help, stidmama - and hello musicmom!
anyone with a clue for the sc 5/21?
sc5/22 upside down e in the dictionary
does anyone know how many words tonight?
The sc5/21 - it's a phonetic symbol and also begins the Governor of California's surname.
268 words
okay next set of fish dish... ch 6/24 and 5/14 right after the "plural" version of the first ch...
evening, OwlMovement!
ch6 and 6 - use even more r's!
thanks, i had no idea that upside down e was called that. :)
hello.
Haz, you're great... ea 5/10 -- I have the one that means a plural direction, missing the one next to that.
ea5/10 - to have consumed food.
*facepalm* *headbang* *headdes k* argh.
totally taking those clues too haz. major head slap for me too. :)
It's okay! It took me a second sweep of the grid to find it.
good evening, folks!
Good evening artlady!
:-) {{artlady}}
Hi art lady
I hope I allowed enuf time...looks like a big one!
There are lots of nice words in there, artlady - though some strange ones also!
Well, no work tomorrow, so I can stay up late...4 1/2 hours until the new one! *splash* just dove in..
cr5/22? Doesn't seem to be a way to the big point tiles.
cr5/22 is a welsh word which has no vowels. Think of teenagers having a gro*** spurt, and use those letters.
In need of my last two words: te 6/18 and te 8/40. I would appreciate any hint(s). Thank you!
ah, that wonderful Welsh W...
Wow thanks Haz. I wouldn't have monkeytyped that one in a million years.
te 6/18: the one I have is "more of" the te 5 preceeding, comparative adj
actually, the "w" in Welsh is the equivalent of "oo" (like goo) in English -- it is a vowel!
I'm assuming the te 6 and te 8 are the ones beside each other. te6 - latin 'earth' with an anglicised plural (s), and the 8 is the plural of that.
I'm back for a little while. help with the re7/40 and re9/72 and re8/55
Thanks for the help! Can I offer a clue or two to repay your kindness(es).
re7/40 - to ask for something re9 - the one who asks re8 - asks for something
You put in a re***** for help?
Congratulations on finishing katmayo. I finished a little while ago and was just lurking for a little while.
Peri---when one asks for a favor they may re + a line from the play Man of La Mancha..." This is my Q......."
bravo katmayo
is there anything to do with that y in the corner?
Only 4 to go but i've run out of time. If you have some quickies i need cr5/22 se7/28 se8/40 te8/ 40 pleeeeeeaaase
thanks for the help, found the re words and also anothe qu word.
nothing starts with the y
Nothing begins with the y but it is used in some words.
se 7 /8 combination. Edge on a bread knife
for te 8/40, think of te____ verde
se8/40 - third person form of se7 - cutting action
there were recent clues for the te and the cr scroll down.
There are two te8/40 - which one do you need?
One te 8/40 looks like a mispelling of the stands where football fans congregrate (replace the c with a homonym)
hey gang - Not a chance of finishing here but going for all the words I can get before bedtime. Sooooo I'm looking for the last qu word please qu 6/27
The other te8/40 - begins with the heroine *** of the d'Ubervilles, followed by period of time and a vowel ending.
qu 6/27: the things that knights of the round table went on...
qu6/27 - is the plural of the adventurous qu5/16
the QU you are looking for can be a measure of milk you purchase plus an additional vowel to make it six letters.
brb
thanks - got it.
Ex-Wren - I noticed earlier in the log that there were dire threats issued against some of us who encouraged you to start. Do I still need to watch my back?!
dr7/32 and dr8/45
dr7/32 - either a piece of furniture or someone who helps you with your clothes dr8 - with the help of the person above you will look this way
dr 7 is a piece of furniture, dr 8 comparative of dr 5/12
Thank you all for your help, I have finished at last. As for you and your cronies Haz, just don't do it again. Goodnight all, it is just about 2am and I'm going
thanks Haz and inge
YAY ExWren!
((bye)))
LOL Haz.
*~*~*~*~*EXWREN*~*~*~* CONG RATULATIONS!!!
Sorry! Ex-Wren, I will be good in future....
zzzzzzzzzzznight EX WREN
Anyway haz, isn't it past your bedtime as well?
hello folks been going round in circles any clues for the ra9 pls
And glory be, she's right - look at the time! I must be off as well. Happy hunting everyone.
Goodnight Haz sweet dreams :)
good night (((Haz))) thanks for all the help!
Good night Haz. Thanks for the help. See you tomorrow.
Sheryl I don't have it :(
night haz
Last clue - ra 9 - it is the plural of the adjective ra7 relating to the lack of cooking in food.
Really gone now!
Sheryl, do you have the ra7/44 the ra9 build on that, it is a stupidhead word
ra 9 is plural of ra 7, ra 5, 7 and 9 all start with same three letters referringt o uncooked
Sherylr1961--if you have ra7 you simply double it--or pluralize
that is sooooooooo not a word, lol
Sheryl, told you it was a stupidhead word :)
you got that right
would it break the rules if I ask what comes fourth in the words we are talking about?
I don't know if it is against the rules but I'm hoping they answer you<G> I'm totally confused.
I'm still not getting it. Could someone break it down just a little more I have the ra 4 - 5 and 6 of the cooking one.
these ras refer to totally uncooked food.. steak tatar, for example, or sashimi
What's the stupid head wh9 word? It has to be another stupid head, cause I don't see it...
Got the 7 The amount of ra***** depends on how little the meat is cooked.
you need the 5 point tile for all three words. The 5 is an adverb
wh9 is the pluralized wh 7...
Jee- do you have the wh7/48 (there are two) the wh9 is the plural of one of them
...and the wh 7 is... *puppy dog eyes*
okay, I confess I don't have the wh7 either.
LeslieAnn, milk it for all its worth....I am stuck.
OMG - thought I would never get that. Thank you all. That 'is not a word' I agree 100%
Jee- both wh7 start with an everyday word, think of the way lawyers talk
obviously, neither of you are lawyers! locative pronoun + preposition
one of them is what my daughter says when I ask her to get the book from the desk. wh7?
I am a speech pathologist and it is better not to get involved with lawyers in my line of work.
:-D I avoid anyone who's operating in a professional capacity...
ra 7/44 sounds like how you would address a queen in a really raunchy movie: "Your Royal Ra*****" ra9 is how you would address the children of the queen
*astonishment* how can there be so many si words? *dives into grid*
Musicmom, I don't think your child should be using that word...what kind of word is that? I like the ra9 better than that.
as per usual the re's are driving me nuts any help on any of the 3 biggies which i don't have the 7, 8 or the 9 please and ty
Jee - I didn't say I liked it. But she is 12 and grammar is always a challenge.
Thanks for all of the help...those were some toughies!
sheryl, when you ask for something it's an re7... add different endings for 8 and 9
I'm fairly new... What's the grid?
ok, i'm stuck on those wh words still. I got the one that's horrible grammar, but "puppy dog eyes"? I'm tired, what can I say?
wh 9 and 7 start with the question word wh 5/20, they are lawyer's terms, wh9 is pl of wh7
Jamaca, the grid is the puzzle, which is laid out in rows and columns...
wassup, think of small two letter words that you can add to the wh root word.
um, no, that was me asking for a clue with my puppy dog eyes.
ahh, don't i feel silly!!
musicmom, maybe your daughter can grow up and be a lawyer and use all of these big words, except for that Welch word.
wassup, you know those phone commercials, they say wh*** you **? take out the "you"
leslie ty I do that everytime and forget to use those letters in the middle of words not just he start
Leslie, I just audibly groaned. :)
me too!
I have that one, but the other 7 and the 9 are not happening.
i meant i always forgot, too, not that i was groaning, too. but i guess i could if it would make wassup feel better :)
She probably will be a lawyer - she's already into negotiations and arguing<G>
wassup...use 2 letter words starting with a
oh well i don't have those either wassup! :)
oh geez, NOW i'm groaning
wa 6/30, please?
help with the ur words?
wa6/30 a group of hmmmmm maybe rabbits?
ur: add thrid person plural form of verb to be, and plural
thanks inge
the clue i saw that helped was that the ur words were like a type of poison that begins with a "c" drop the c; ur + "to be' first pers plural; then plural
ok - maybe another sill question but, how do you guys know what the second leltter is? I have the stats board, but that's not showing me anything.
thanks stid
ur words= u + under cooked steak + plural
(((musicmom)))

And your still up. I can't believe it. You are really going to zonk out when you do get to bed.

Angel -- so that thing to help you sleep is working?
not going to finish, so will read a book before bed, see you all tomorrow
I'm still going strong, but probably won't be here for the flip tonight :)
Jamaca, welcome to the land of our addiction.
That would waaaaayyyyyyy toooooo much Angel...You should be in bed now.
I am still missing 6 Q words. Are there any strange q's that anyone would like to help me with?
does anyone have a clue for the es 6 and es 7??? thank you!
The CPAP machine is working great, Stidmama. I just had a lot of pain last night and didn't sleep. I've been awake since 6:15 AM yesterday.
good night periwinkle!
I am so sorry you're in pain -- (((healing light))) headed your way...
Good nite Peri :)

I can't help with those circ.
es words : add ch 4/5 and plural
thanks stid...I appreciate your looking - I'm not yet to the qu's to help there..sigh
inge -- that was them! ty
thanks so much inge!!!!
es 6/24 = es + what you sometimes do to meat ****-broil. the 7 is plural
I plan to eat dinner first, Faerie...:)
cliffopa! hi! how's the weather back there? it's raining here...
it was an incredible day. perfect weather. unfortunately we need rain!!!!!!
It is past 8:30 dear...How long are you going to go before Jay has to put you to bed himself?
angel -- mab followed the link you put up to my family pages... that was really cool :-)
okay, sending rain clouds your way...
ec 6/27?
th8?
only 34 to go... ;-) I really gotta get a life!
Cliff-It was beautiful here too. Thats why I'm not finishing the grid. Spent most of the day out in the yard messing with flowers and did a little raking.
:) That's why I put the link up, Stid. there's always method to my madness.
musicmom~ are you always one here? :)
HEY - I've hardly been here at all today. Thursdays are big teaching days for me. What are you doing? How was church?
ec 6/27 = e + a vegetable my mom eats called swiss ch 5/16, the 1st one.
LOLOL MusicMom - BGL
oh, lovely gardening talk -- i admired the flowers and trees from inside today, and looked at a couple garden books...
the names Theresa and Chester are in today's grid. Too bad they don't count.
Stid - you are doing better than me - I still have over 70 to find. Not probably going to finish this one.
likely about ten PM, Faerie....by then, dinner will be over.
It was nice (if Maundy Thursday service can be described as "nice") We did a drama and read the entire passion - very moving.
Faerie - do you know BGL is my sister?
yes, but i've been here off and on all day!
thanks cliffopa
I am SO glad i finished this grid this morning...no energy for it now.
NO way
Nice to meet you BGL :)
That's good. We may have a snafu in leaving early on the 30th. Greg may have to play a concert. You guys can go ahead without us if you want. We'll catch up.
missing one st 6/18 the one between the two 6/18 pls and ty
th 8/75 - take the th 4/9 and add 3 letter ending for the weather today in NH (heave***
Yep Faerie- it is all her fault I'm an addict. She sent me the link.
Angelsong, maybe you should go rest so you're okay tomorrow. -- did you take care of the pain?
BGL - I started to call you tonight and then remembered you wouldn't be home.
What time's his concert? We could go and take the girls if ya want us to
the pain iis mostly under control. I live with chronic pain, and I don't do pain killers if I can help it.
I don't know yet. He isn't even sure they are going to do it. I'll let you know. Just wanted to give you a heads up. It would be in the afternoon so we would still make it by early evening.
Just remember which person went pro.....
Sorry, guys, I keep wanting to stay and give clues, but I keep dozing off. So I better call it a day. See you all tomorrow, no doubt. Gute Nacht!
Yeah - you're just not going pro so you can say I'm more addicted than you<G>
sheryl, there are 4 st 6/18's - which one do you need?
Good night Inge. Thanks for the help
inge, good night, thanks for all your help!
Thanks for the TH8 help
No, I've actually never finished a puzzle! I get frustrated and quit.
third in list pls the one between the to 18 point words
ar 7/28?? (not what happens when you've been bad)
angel -- (((hug)))
Karen I have no problem taking meds when needed. Thats why God made Dr's so they can make us feel better. Remember that! I took pain meds for my hip and my shoulder and I didn't get hooked on them or anything. I just took them when needed not neccesseareliley (babble word) as prescibed.
even more creative ar7/28
leslieann-- more ar 4/4
ar 7/28 has to do with the last ar 4/4 , more of that ar 4/4
oh crud i wasn't using the s in it. thanks badcat.
ok, ladies and gentlemen, I'm out of here. See you tomorrow!
BGL - you just have to steal everyone else's clues. Hey are we taking Boggle on our trip? I was thinking we could take some other board games too.
...and musicmom, and cliffopa
Good night angelsong.
good night, Angelsong! see you tomorrow!
{{{night Angel}}}
no way I'm finishing tonight. I'm just playing because Greg is reading. Sarah and Emalie are watching Coach Carter - I saw it the other night.
BGL and musicmom, I would love to sit in on a game of scrabble with you -- none of our family gatherings are complete without it!
I was planning on taking Boggle and our new game "Visual Eyes" where you have to make words anbd phrases out of picture dice. What else do we want to take?
NO WAY no how am I playing scrabble.
10 more minutes until i turn into a pumpkin. anyone want a few more clues?
I think I'm going to call it a night myself. Good Night Everyone (((XXX)))
okay, I have none of the ecs -- will accept ecs in exchange for whatever i have....
Maybe we could take uno or skipbo so Hannah could play.
good night faeriekae! (is your window shade still now?)
good night faerie and cliff.
ec + opposite of easy
1st ec (6/27) = ec * ha 4/6
ec + opposite of she
We have Sesame Street 35th ann. trivia. There are ways to make it all ages. What about Yahtzee?
the ec I have is the one that was just clued. ec6/27 e+swiss ch***
next one is the plural
that's 30% of the ones I need -- thanks!
how bout a clue for st 6/18 third one on the list pls and ty
Both of those sound good. I'm just thinking if it ends up raining a day or two....
I don't have it Sheryl
sheryl, and MM, thanks!
st 6/18 1st one = someone who looks too long at something odd
Are you and Greg drinking beer? Gary brought Josh and I a 5L "mini keg" we could take it. We haven't tapped it because we don't drink that often at home.
sheryl -- that's the only st i don't have yet... :-(
2nd st 6/18 = alternate spelling for things you climb to get to upper floors
Greg drinks beer more than I do, but you could bring it. I'm not opposed to beer.
got that one cliff need the next one pls
3rd st 6/18 = "A condition of balance among various forces; motionlessness"
cliff- that was a good clue!
It's a dark German beer. Does he drink that? If not I'll wait until we're hanging out with our aunt! :) I'm hoping to pick up some Biltmore wine in Gatlinburg. Wine and a hot tub are what's getting me through the next couple of weeks.
or, for the 3rd st 6/18, take the second st 6/18 replace 1st r with s and remove 2nd r
He loves dark beer. Much better than regular beer. I prefer the darks too. Ahhhhhh the hot tub. OH yeah!!
# words today
268 words, slayer
thanks
for anyone not done with all the st 6/18's, the last one is plural of the st 5/10 right before it (A unit of volume equal to one cubic meter.)
ty cliff got it with the second clue
cliffopa, if you have time, I can't find the first ne 5...
stidmama - anytime you see a clue in quotes i stole it from the dictionary :)
Okay, we'll bring it. Well I'm off for the night. Josh and I are going to take a shower <G>. Give me a call tomorrow late afternoon (church from 1-4) or evening. We're going to be painting the living room - so the longer we talk the less I have to do! :)
CLIIIIIFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!
Okay Emalie is spending the night. They are trying to talk me into a movie.
it wasn't me it was the storm cliff, i swear!
1st ne 5/10, ne + do you get the j*** of the conversation
brb phone
Do we have a DVD in the cabin? Let me know tomorrow. 'Night
OMG - my nutty buddy!!!!!!!! i was just going to sign off. great timing!
i am SO sorry!
*oh boy* [sigh] maybe I should just work on tomorrow's icon... I am missing things that ought to be obvious.
cliffopa, thank you. i am gong to dive back into the grid for a while...
that thunderstorm got in the way on our way home, and took our electricity, and bummed my computer!
my most unfavorite word is no longer brrr. it is now the cr 5/22 word.
nut, i dread thunderstorms. always knocks my cable connection out. what can i do without cable? use a modem and phone line again? aargh!
any way, i see you survived cliffy, do i need to get into my make cliffy survive kit that i assembled?
or would you prefer i just list you the contents?
yes nut! cocktails from yesterday have worn off.
Evening all: Been at this for hours still have 25 left....giving it one more hour speaking of thunderstorms in my mid 40's and still am scared to death of them almost phobic!!!
* rummages through make cliffy survive kit *
hey speedfreak *back to lurking*
* pulls out, one red clown nose, obnoxious orange red an yellow clown wig, mean angry chihuahua in a clown suit...* - er, your suppose to wear the nose and the wig, and carry the dog *gets back into the kit*
back from the phone but going to try to focus on the grid. ahahahahaaaaa
cliffopa do you go to the Nascar race at Laconia??

Wow Thank you cliffopa never would have monkey typed that!!!! Got them both:)
A clue on the RE7, 8, 9? I'm assuming they're all related?
charm, to honor a re7... diff. endings for 8, 9
charm, when you ask for something, it's a re 7
then one who re 7, and plural of re7
wa8?
yes, all related--re7 means to ask
that is quite a big re***** charm (having to do with asking) add on various endings for longer words
a woman who works in the wa4.
wa 8: wa 4 + r + recurvy letter spelled out
thanks mom, stid
There is not a fish big enough! Thanks, guys.... =8-)
oh charm, have you ever seen a sturgeon? it's pretty big... they have a viewing window at one of the dams along the Columbia river... 20 ft + i've been using them all day... :-)
and that's it for me folks. have to get up early tomorrow. nite all !
good night cliffopa!
good night cliffopa! sweet dreams.
good night cliff.
Night cliff thanks again for help
su5/14
Well, stidmama, I may need SEVERAL fish today - I seem stuck and just not seeing the patterns.
su + cheerleading call
su5/14 - The duchess of york's first name - change the first a for a 'u'.
thanks leslie
okay pride all gone -- qu 6 and 7, the first two and the next to last two: I have the money ones, and the ones relating to searching, and a peculiar one that ends like a donkey...
sigh, stid, i'm missing the exact same ones...
The first QU6 & 7 - latin for query; google this: "usually used to introduce a question."
Okay I think I have the first two qu words
next to last qu 6 & 7 - fr. for 4.
The CE6/24?
ce 6/24: sounds like the dog star, or the first name of Harry Potter's godfather.... ce + head greek god - z + c
woo hoo -- the qu is all greyed out! ty charm...
ceeusc doesn't work!
Yeah ! I greyed the q too
Thanks, stidmama. Diff. clue for the next to last qu6&7 - word for 25 US cents - alternate the final two letters.
SC5/22?
LeslieAnn -- i must be more tired than I thought... what you eat in the morning (first four letters) + "we" only in object form.
sc is an upside down e in the dictionary
sc 5/22 is the upside down "e" in a dictionary ; a funny-sounding letter
lol thanks stid i knew that didn't look right :)
who wants to help me with the last two si words? (please)
Stidmama - oh, that poor, wreck of a fish! (hanging my head in shame - majored in English.) =8-)
Last SI6/18 - sp. for afternoon nap.
thanks charm!
SI7/28 - pl. of the si6 meaning rugged mountain range. (There is a movie about the SI**** Madres?)
dame el pescado, por favor!
de nada, stidmama.
i am down to 8 words, most of the s words --- taking a break for my eyeballs, back soon to finish and help...
Thank you so much, everyone! I'll be lurking if anyone wants clues.
I nned help with my last 2... the wh9/84 & (I think) the second wh7/48
wh 9/84 is plural of wh 7/48.
Jera they are legal terms wh7 if you had these two words you would be done. wh9 pl
WH7/48 - legal term - wh***** the party of the first part, desiring assistance with the online game commonly known as babble. WH9 is pl.
wh9 is plural of wh7
wh 7/48 is a word used to show the result of an action etc.
2nd WH7/48- another legal term - same as the first wh7 but change the final consonant.
Thank you very much! *happy dance of doneness, half asleep* This was long, tough grid today!
last s - st 6/18 between what's in the sky and the smell
congrats jera!
BRAVO Jera
Condition of balance, plural
ST6/18 - latinish pl. of word meaning motionless or "condition of balance among various forces."
Thank you, thank you... *bows and catches roses*
I like my icon... might keep it for tomorrow...
leslie, I finished my first puzzle over 200this week
huzzah nat! great jorb!
Bravo NatLT
I was super excited, and then I felt like a bigger dork than nick, but then I remembered our game takes actual smarts and his is like grown up d & d
thanks guys!
um... nick read that ;)
whatever, he knows I think he is a dork
I figureed you would tell him anyway :)
just pat him on the head, and tell him war craft is really important
ne 6.18 is driving me mad - can anyone help - thnx
ne6 - pl of the ne4/4 - From the movie The Untouchables - Elliot NE**.
speaking of nick, did he get my text today? or tell you about it... it was 84 degrees today
Nat, are you in Denver? It was 84 here today, too
Finished!! Done!! Woot!!!!!
Great job knutmeg!

my brother and I have an inside joke about the number 84
yay meg!
YAY knutmeg (and Liv)!
YAY Jera!
back for my last 8... *dives into mire of s's*
go stid go!
just got back from church -- boy do I have a long way to go on this grid tonight --oh well, here goes.
te 8/40?
welcome back to the madness, pbr!
Hi pbr!
yeah, I am in the same place as you pbr, it's kinda fun knowing that you wont get them all, (at least in my case) but seeing how far you can get
TE8 pl of TE6/18 (which is pl. of the TE5 - te*** firma).
whoo! got the s's -- on an r and a coupla ts
thanks charm, do you have the other as well?
one left. in the interest of what sanity remains to me... I am missing the third ra 6/18: not the least cooked, or the people who grade things, or the misspelled shaving implements....
stid, do you have the one that rhymes with a turkey ba****?
ok so I found nine q words, i don't think I know anymore, glad I am not trying to finish this one
the q's suck, nat, i still need 4 more
a bunch I monkey typed, just adding close by letters, kinda good since I didn't start a list
LeslieAnn -- that was the one! THANK YOU!
dun dun dun DONE
congrats stid!!
YAY STIDMAMA!!!!!!
Congratulations, Stidmama!!!
okay, i'm going to clue for about five minutes, then will go spend face time with my kids... :-)
don't forget the qu that is french for four -- and its plural...
te 7/8 combo?
i don't know french :(
te 7/8: take the e off the end of the te 8
I'm hanging out, on and off, until the flip (at least), I'll try to clue as Liv allows (Sleeping like a sweet little princess right now). So... who needs help? (Lets hope I can clue coherently, hee hee)
TE7/8 combo - "One of the small squares of stone or glass used in making mosaic patterns." Girl's name (of the D'urbevilles) + long time/period (or a detergent).
the other te 7 is like the smelly st - s
leslie- the french word for 4 is the english one that means 1/4, but swap the last 2 letters
LeslieAnn, you can also take the qu that is a unit of currency in the US and switch the last two letters around...
woops, and drop an r.
hi grigs! when did you get in?
why are there always french words, what about those of us who took spanish
ah! for spanish, three of the si words... two mean mountain range/s, the other a nap...
si 6/18 nat!
I saw an adios on the grid a few days back.... that's spanish...
yeah I got the nap one, but there is always more french
mountains weren't in the spanish that I took in school
and a lot of latin and latinized words, too... try adding ae to things!
these mountains are a range in California, the si**** nevadas
good tip, thanks stid
about to head out for kid-time.. also remember ies, ei, en (got me a couple times), and es. some of the es went on other es...
good night stid!
g'night, Stid!
did you get the British spelling of the things we write on instead of using paper money -- and various endings...
good night, back for flip!
Well, it is time to play LOtR Trivial Pursuit. See y'all tomorrorow!
good night both stids!
leslie, how are you doing on the grid so far?
6 more, but i broke at a2z at about 20 left
good nite
nice work!
g'night, cat
ummm...it doesn't like quat--apimpleor an insignificant person--it likes some words, and not others...grump
so why is a french number oK and say the german "herr" isn't?
my current score is NaN. Not available now?
try refreshing
ok, i am stuck on the re's re7/40, re9/72, re8/55, re5/10, re6/18....I got this far without help!!!
done!
re 5/10 to re + *** the table (and plural)
HOORAY! Great jaeorrb there lesie
sometimes the re/55 is a con, sometimes it's a re...
re7, 9, 8 - all related. when you ask for help.
the others - re + qu 5/16 and different endings
thanks nat. you want any biggies before i go?
re5/10 - if you're losing the game, hit the re*** button.
sueq, you there? I know you are! :)
Have a good night folks. We are getting sleeeeepy, veeeery sleeepy.
I still have 187 to find, and none of the 9's, but I am ok with that, I am just seeing where I can get, help is always good though....p.s thought any about dress shopping and if and when you would like me to come up?
no we just got a date, lady!
strike that, got a 9
I know, but vivsts are just fun, it doesn't even have to be serious shopping just fun to go with people to look
ra 9 - not cooked + the loch **** monster+ two letters for plural
thanks for the help on the re5 and re6 -- now to figure out the 7,9 and 8 with the clues given -- be back soon!
oooh, good one, thanks
184 to go
wh 9 - who, what, when, wh*** + lots of donkeys are jack*****, drop an s
thanks for the clues on the re's -- seems I always get stuck on those -- still have 98 to go -- on to the s's.
never would have gotten that one alone, thanks again
got the 9's
both of those 9's are made up of smaller words as well
yep, tpyed those in first, I knew the roots, just didn't know the plurals (I guess is what that is)
The 9's: Re9/72 - one who asks, or that person ringing the music station to ask for a record. ra9/78 - a stupid plural for the state of undercooked food. wh9/84 - another stupid plural for a wh7/48. It's 'legalese'.
Hi jacula
anymore clues for the ra9 and wh9
Hi Scatty.
clue please for the tr8/40 that follows the lock of hair, and the qu 5/16 that is between the plural measure and the French 4 ?? (I have one qu 5/16 but not the other) Thanks!
er actually just the wh9
owlmove, check out the chat log at 10:46 and 10:44 for clues
wh 9 -- the wh 7 is the legalese term, and the wh 9 actually pluralises it --
"more like" the hair for tr8
wh9= wh7/48 + 2nd vowel + curvy plural letter ra9= ra7/44 + 2nd vowel + curvy plural letter
WH9 - WH5 + Alternative Scenario.
ch - qu + a naughty word?
The 1st 3 letters of the RA9..... If you go out and shoot an animal and then cut out some meat it is RA3.
nightnight
I thnk that's the one I've got, Leslieann, but thanks for that tr clue -- got that one.
tr8 - much longer haired, or more like that damned Tressy doll all us Sindy doll lovers hated. LOL.
LOL jacula, but I had a "chatty Cathy" doll :)
qu + past tense of eat?
Ch- qu5= eq6 - first e
ch - was she the one that also wet herself?
Oh, no. That was Tiny Tears!
got it, knutmeg and leslieann --- Thanks so much! Jacs, yes, she did -- of course I thought that was pretty cool at time.
Jacs, most of the dolls wet themselves when I was a kid -- that was the big thing in dollsville, along with the talk boxes.
i had tiny tiny tears, it was smaller than tiny tears, and came with a potty
I feel like a ragged little bird wr4/8 who "wrestled" with this puzzle and is now ready to lay down re4/4 and quit battling wr6/30 with this puzzle......I"M DONE!!!!!! It feels like 268 men beat me up....LOL Thanks to Knutmeg, as usual....Be blessed...Jai Kisses to Lil Livvie
I never saw that one, scaty. Dolls were the big thing for girls in the late 50's - early 60's... And still were when my own daughter was little.
Good on ya, Jaianniah!!
ch - Dunno if you're now a mother, but, if you are, you've probably discovered that 'wetting themselves' is NOT cute! It's just a bl**** nuisance, especially if you made the mistake of listening to your health visitor and changed them BEFORE you fed them.
FIREWORKS FOR JIANNIAH (what a great name!) ****!!!!!!!!!%%%%%%%** ******!!!!!!!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*FIREWORKS*~*~*~*~ *~*~*~* for my mom!! (Sweet Liv is still sleeping, but she got her kisses) :-)
so true, jacula -- my daughter is 30 now and completely potty trained, but I remember the charm of changing diapers ended by about her second day on the planet :D
*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS FOR jaianniah*~*~*~*~
good that she's got that potty training thing done at 30, ch. would make a pretty inconvenient schedule for you.
my daughter had all the cindys and a huge cindy house with four floors and all the gear, it must have cost a fortune, i bought it second hand for £20 off a friend and the diaproval of her daughter, the pieces were so small, i preferred action men
:D LOL leslieann...Okay I'm done, wiped, and off to bed. Good Friday is tomorrow, and another long day for church and stuff. Sleep well all, happy babbling
Knutmeg - As you probably know by now, if it's a totally horrible and smelly nappy, take it off, and give 'em a quick wipe down, then hold them on a thick towel whilst feeding. Ony change the nappy or even put one one about 10-15mins after feeding.
not many people about tonight, jacula you should have been here earlier, Mikey and ecco were having a heated arguement about the way you speak German, it went on for about half an hour, i swear ecco was after an arguement
Also, learn the art of gently grabbing baby'd crossed ankles in one hand, and lifting bum up. whilst you do whatever else you need to to to the offending area with the other hand, also enlisting help for talc etc., from elder child, if one is available. If not, arrange your work area beforehand.
then everyone started to speak in different languages
parlez-vous engrish?
don't you start, it was bad enough then
Scatty - I did see the eco thing when I was gathering my last few words. I decided not to join in. I have already had 2 heated arguements on Bablog, one justified, the last perhaps not. I'd have just started typing in Welsh, had I joined this latest.
did you give the def of the crown
early day at the hospital tomorrow, better call it a night, would love to stay and hunt,but better play it safe... leslie if you are still here night, and hope to see you guys for easter on sat. in morton
scatty, you are so right. I felt as if we were rebuilding the tower of Babel as we babbled. Then wounded feelings worried me so much I left the game for hours. Now I've been to a foot-washing maundy Thursday gathering and feel refreshed and renewed. May you a have happy and holy times this coming weekend.
BTW< It did turn out to be a "dratly" puzzle!
Me? No I gave the def of the Welsh lyre.. the cr5/22, with no vowels, pronounced in a way that rhymes with 'proof'.
i've got a few things growing in the freenhouse house, having major probs with marigolds, they WON'T grow, not even a little bit, my sunflowers are doing well though, nearly three inches now
we'll be there nat... i'm taking off too... g'night all
Thank you Jac :P
i remember now, then someone gave the answer a few mins later
everyone is leaving up, where are the regulars
i mean us
Doe the words ever appear after the puzzles? In some other form or location, so those of us who don't get them can begin to see the 'ahha' of what we missed?
any help with the ur's? I'm just not seeing them.
I'm not going to finish, but I'm as close as I've ever been on one of these HUGE grids. 67 to go!
It's Good Friday, folks. Not so good for Jesus, who got nailed to 2 planks of wood, but good for mankind, since he did his best to save our souls. I wouldn't mind betting, that, given the choice again (with hindsight) he wouldn't bother. Pasg Hapus! (That's Happy Easter in Welsh.)
sonipitts, think undercooked steak with the u at the beginning, then pluralize
Shadow - if you click on the archives section, you will find all the past word lists.
wassup - ta! Took me a second to recalibrate the veggie brain to remember what you call undercooked steak. :-D
shadow, if you go on yesterdays puzzle and click on a name, all the words will come up
Happy Easter everyone
One of my o'h's relatives is a cook and the only way she likes a steak cooked is 'blue rare' which means if you even stop to look what size the flames on the grill are you will have overcooked it.
oh, undercooked boca burger then
ewwww...frozen wet granola. With carrots.
my sister used to have it blue, i don't see the point, she might as well have taken it out of the fridge and eaten it
yeah, i think i'd prefer bloody meat to frozen boca. ok, maybe not
st 6/24 and st 8?
hello all -- back to clue for the last half hour. Hi Jacula! YAY Jainnaiah!
ugh...I am down to six words left and not making much progress on them. Can anyone help me with the te 7/28?, the third st 6/18, the last er 5/10 and or the last es 5/10?
I have learned, these days, that you cannot ask for a medium rare steak in any but the best restaurants... but you won't go fasr wrong if you ask for it 'rare' in a not too bad place... Not tried asking for 'blue rare' in a really awful place yet, though... don't think I'd dare for fear of food poisoning.
st 6/24: a bad smell; rhymes with the wr 6 st 8: plural
soni - st smelly, really bad
sonipitts, st 6/24 & 8- a bad smell and then more bad smells?
ty
er 5/10: er + recurvy cons. + second vowel and plural letter
i used to have medium rare but it always came out medium so i just ask for med nowadays
es 5/10: a woman's name, sorta; a chemical; sounds like the as 5 flower...
ty stid! I feel like I tried that, oh well...four to go!
That er5/10 is something that annoys me on here. I regularly look for its singular form. However, the plural is fine.. Scottish or Irish forms of Gaelic.
thanks Jac; unfortunately all that shows up for me is html stuff, and no word list.
he 6/21?
circe - es double second letter of the es4
Jacula-- Holding the legs I learned when my youngest sister was born and it was like riding bike when I had Liv as far as that goes... haven't heard abou the towel thing... I assume this is to prevent rashing? If so, Thanks! We are just starting to see a red bum today and don't want it to get worse
i only have 210 words--the system seems to be very slow--i can only put in one word every 60 seconds.
mmmmmmmm, just took fresh hot blueberry muffins out of the oven
st 6/18 the third: plural of "state of suspension"; take the "r" out of the previous 6/18 and replace with an s
he6 - he4/6 + in this place (2 letter word)
soni - two word together, word abouve it + 1st vowel +20 letter (he6)
there are two te 7, which do you NOT need, circe?
oh yeah! ty ty ty!
ty...moving on up the clean-up run...
i hope the grid will be smaller on the flip
whew...finally finished...can I help anyone?
i'm off to bed again, see you all later, nighty night
well done circe
es 6/24? Just a few more to go!
ty scatty ...sleep tight
Knutmeg - Towel or nappy over your shoulder if you 'burp'them that way, because they will ALWAYS be sick over your shoulder. Towel or nappy on your lap well in front of them if you prefer to to it the gentler way, i.e. just chatting to them, whilst holding their chin well up and supporting their back straight and jiggling them a bit (best way to bring up wind), or towel underneath when changing nappies, most especially for a girl if you're trying to keep the upturned babygro dry! For a boy, still put the towel or nappy beneath but also keep some kind of aborbent thing handy for when the little upright pecker (it just happens when they're tiny babies) starts with the yello fountain. You need to stem itm especially if you wear glasses, If you fail, you'll be blind until you've cleaned them!
good night, scatty!
Kids! Who'd have them??
es + your ch 4/6
YAY circe!
hey, i heard a baby-burping trick the other day that might come in handy. the mom just picks her baby up under the arms and gently swings him in a "tick-tock" fashion, like a clock pendulum. says is always works.
thanks, circe.
ra9/78 hints? plz:)
Sonia - diffrenr babies, different methods. Every bit of advice will help some mum somewhere.
np - I had to get help for that one earlier myself!
last ar 7?
ra 5: adverb meaning "in an uncooked fashion" ra 7: first three letters of the 5, add ne 4 ra 9: ra 7, plural
ra9/78 hints!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently me :-) Got the burp rags for the spit up, she actually is pretty good about that and seems to spit up more when she is laying down (I attribute this to my own lack of proper timing after the burping has happened) So far Liv' only accidents outside of the diaper were after a bath (so wrapped in a towel) and at the doctor's office (In the baby scale)
more of the last ar 4/4...
ra9/78 - have you got ra7/44?
thanks. one left!
go soni go!
knutmeg - any hints I can give you, though my kid are now 11, 19 and almost 23 :-((( (How did I get so OLD???)), you are welcome to ask or scream for.
Actually, I wasn't quite honest about the 11-yr-old. She is my 'step'.
any last-minute clues needed?
Step is just a word :-) Still a daughter, IMO. I'll scream the next time Liv is endlessly fussy :-)
se 6/18, before the ragged knife edge
But don't think we almost 49-yr-olds can't still give advice, yes, it's my birthday next Saturday folks! It doesn't matter what the latest books or so-called 'experts' say... you just listen to your instincts or your Mum or Mum-in-Lw - chances are one of those lots of advice will work.
cough cough....hey ya'll..it's passover, i'm off work...and i'm sick.......8-{
knutmeg, it gets easier... :) i can send my kids upstairs and tell them to brush teeth, get in jammies and get in bed and they WILL! It's amazing to think of all the work that used to go into them falling asleep. They're 4 & 5 now. I miss it though.
se 6/18: add a t to the previous se 5
Ren - stop playing the sicj Jew and just get on wih doing the puzzle! LOL.
oh renfield, I'm so sorry you're doing poorly! Did you get chicken soup today?
I gaveher chicken soup already!
YAY! Thanks stid - that was a tight one - I had them all checked off on likety's site, then realized I was one short and had to go back through and do a manual count to see where I had missed on. Wasn't sure if I was going to make it. :-)
yes mistress..... hey stid - i got chicken soup - no noodles....
oh -- okay. well a little more won't hurt! and drink lots of water and weak tea...
YAY sonipitts!
Congratulations Soni!!!
and did you get extra vitamin c today? orange juice, hot lemonade...
in fact, all of us should probably take some extra vitamin C now that renfield's coughed on us! here, i'll pass the bottle to knutmeg first...
diet coke, green tea w. lemon grass....vit c, zinc...lemons don;t like me....
well, i'll see you all on the other side -- need to refill my teacup before the flip!
here's the last word from freckle:) YYYYYYYOOOOOOOO
Flippity- flippity FLIP!!!!
see you on the other side
sorry...stid...i didn;t mean to cough...it just came out...
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOO):(:(:( :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
Seriously, before anyone reading discounts that Jewish Mama chicken soup for the health and soul thing - it really DOES work. There's a scientific basis for it that I haven't the time or energy to go into right now, but, if you havr a cold, though Heinz tinned Cream of Chicken soup will work for a while, get away from the milk or cream thing, as that exacerbates mucus.
