this grid looks horrible!
looks easier and shorter!!!! ahhhhhhh
OK- How did you do with the clues?????
126 words
thanks for all the clues, all !
a *lot* less words... 119. but the grid looks like a killer
scratch that, 126 words, I can read my stats, duh.
jaianniah -- your cluse were great, my fingers weren't so good -- and my brain was worse. BUT i got really close, thanks to you and faeriek, and jeffer, and "etcetera"
flip out
126 words *seems* reasonable, and no real big words, so maybe... *holds nose* *dives in*
sw 7/48
okay, since when is "FOOM" not a valid word? if it took "socko" on the last grid.... (smile -- gives me something to complain about, anyway)
LOL Baron :)
renfield, great solar flare!
thanks stid - it's the fountain of saturn!
Yeah Ren that is great!!
knutmeg, I can see where you get your smarts -- your mom was really helpful -- and creative but clear clues.... bet Liv'll be national spelling bee champ when she's a little older!
thanks faerie
whew! 126 is more like it...
good nite sweet babblers...see ya later1
night ren
i'm packin' it in as well . . . nodding off . . . TTFN
bon nuit, Uneaixsoise!
good night, renfield!
I'm glad she helped you, Stid. I pointed her to this game because of our scrabble games when I was a kid. She and I could whip anyone else's bum in the house. :-)
:-) scrabble is a family tradition here, too.
ok refresh..
Nitey Nite Ren :)
Ok, I'm off to bed also. Happy Babbling eveyone. good night :)
only 98 words left... but that's a big percentage still. hmmm. going to change my icon, BRB
g'night ren, faerie, une :-)
good night faeriekae (pretty new icon, too!)
hi all s 7/48
hi evilolive
sh7/32
okay, it's silly, but it's red.... "refresh"
hello palindromic friend!
hello
a refresh will be needed, its tiny but there is red in the picture with Liv. :-)
how sweet! she looks like a little doll among her toys!
hi stidmama. didn't do yesterdays grid but almost fell off me chair when i saw there were almost 400 words!
you were the smart one -- was sweating bullets and still didn't finish that one! oh well -- at least 17 missing from 388 is not as bad as 17 missing from 150 :-)
she is about as big as a doll compared to her toys. :-)
wow, 32 words and I'm itching for the list already, there may have been nearly 400 words yesterday, but the monkeytyping start was much easier...
me too -- I think the smaller grids are harder by comparison, even if they take less time. but -- it's all fun, so I don't mind. Just have to remember to step back once in a while and spend time with my man...
definitely like the challenge, too. Spending time with my husband isn't all that hard... for now. In less than two weeks, I'll be going back to work, though and we'll have opposite shifts... THEN it'll be more of a trick.
three more words and i'll be halfway -- that's the point where I feel good about using Lickety's clues. I really do like seeing how many I can find with just the stats page...
f 6/27
dalmation, great icon!
Thanks! This grid is none too easy.
20 more words and I'll be halfway... I just am not seeing this board today. Hmm... time to stand on my head??
f 7/40
Hey Knutters, I have 49 words and so many of them are 4 letters!!!!! Amazing!!!!
I have all the ms.... think a type of folded corner for the mi 5.
you're ahead of me. time to put my faith in random monkey-typing, I just cannot find words today.
just got the last 'l' also...
maybe you're tired, dear? could it be that sleep is calling you? :-)
sleep does sound like a lovely idea at this point...
I'll see you at some point tomorrow, I expect! ***Liv***
Ha! Refresh to see my shrunken fountain!
ha, ha! at least it's a happy shrunken fountain!
G'night, all!

Wassup............the fish is in the room.
Knoskers of Zib
hola fish!
i was talking to josh and didn't look down at the laptop for a few minutes
Wassup........It's your fault. Usually, I'm asleep by now.
Yeah, I know. Babble has once again claimed the sleep of a poor unsuspecting person.
Yeah, I got home from singing and just had to take a peak. I'm up to a whopping 11 words.
Isn't LOMEZ a word?
I've only got 66 and I've been steadily working on it for an hour and a half
I really want "swur"
Yeah, and isn't foith some kind of food? .....or should be?
have you found the word list yet?
morning all
hi ruthy
Morning! What the................
Word list? No
look to the right of the screen at friends of babble. click on lickety's and it'll show you all the words you're looking for. (obviously not the words, but the word size and starting 2 letters) check it out
There ain't no stink'n lickety
2nd from the bottom
Oh that lickety......my bad
also angelsong's page has lots of good info on it
What the crap.........it's in hyrogliphics
cracking up over here. what those mean is this: as 5/10 = as (1st two letters) 5 letters long 10 points
25 to go and I am calling it quits for the night. good luck everyone. see you tomorrow
What the crap is a militant Platypus!??
wow joey! nice job, see you tomorrow!

Hey...I only have 25 to go........to 38
well, that means you got a few more!

f6/27 - abbreviation for favourite Australian sport
okay have all of the sevens. and only need 50 words to finish so I am going to call it a nite. see you in a few hours when I get back up. happy babbling!
thats me finished
WTG ruthy, how is the grid today, I've only just got here?
Morning everyone, I think I might join you today. How is the grid?
Hi ExWren, just started but so far OK, take it you didn't play yesterday. I didn't, was way too big.
Hi Fmitch. No, I've taken one or two days off in the last week. I was telling you the other day, I've done more work on my family tree. I've just discovered how to look at the National Census on line
There are some really good resources available now via the internet which help the searching.
hey dan,mico, and john!!
Evening!! How is everyone??
Hey MrP, good to see you!
Good morning, all.
FMitch!! good to see you too!
Haz! .... starting to become a party now!
Did you guys finish yesterdays? Morning Haz.
Hello FMitch, MrP and everyone. Yes I finished yesterday's slog.
Oh Fmitch!! Friggin, piggin, swiggin R word was missed!!
I have the f/7 and s/7 discussed in the chat log...is there another s 7?
pine there is an sw and sh
thanks Mr. P
wow, well done Haz, that must have been some marathon. What a shame MrP Pinecone - there are 2 s7's
I am very very cross because I had everything ticked and greyed out!! As far as I was concerned... I was finished and then I find out I wasn't!!
It was a bit of a marathon - my daughter commandeered the computer in the afternoon so I had to finish in the evening when the 'Hurshy show' was on in the chat log - it forced me just to concentrate on my own words though!
Haz, the Hurshy Show??
LOL Haz :)
Sorry - I was called away to the phone. Hurshy has a method of doing the grid that involves an insistence on doing without the list and getting other people to guess what she's missing. I find it extremely tedious!
Tedious indeed... the list saves my butt!! and with yesterdays grid! that would have been hell!
It went on for hours.
If it involves receiving alot of money for guessing... it might be fun! people could place wagers to see if they get the word... otherwise, NO PLAY!
Anyway, on with today's grid.
Just so you all feel for me!!! I am eating boiled fish with spinach!! (grumble, grumble, grumble.... nasty!)
Now, come on, eat up - you know it's good for you!
hhmmm, doesn't sound too appetising. Reminds me must get breatkfast.
morin all
Good morning, hannah lou.
MrP - love all the new bits that lickety has added to his list with the additional stats bit etc
FMitch... thanks! He has made some great improvements and is getting good feedback!
(forces another spoon of fish spinach into mouth.... eeewwwwww.... gulp!)
You're not selling the concept of this dish very well, mrP!
Haz, the concept is simple... GROSS!! give me a home where the mars bars roam and the pancakes are on all day where the seldom is heard about fish and soy curd and the meat isn't boiled and grey!!
LOL
Oh poor you!
THANK YOU!!
Does anyone have a facinating fact they would like to share... am looking for an Odd Spot for Licketys clue page
What is the only mammal that carries venom?
... and is only 1 of 3 mammal species to lay eggs?
I don't know!
the duck billed platypus!
get outta here!! for real??
I sort ofthought that once you said about the egg laying - I didn't know about the venom. And they look so peaceful....
absoultley for real MrP
Fmitch... can I put that on the odd spot for the day?
LOL of course you can.
Ask for a fee, FMitch.....
now where's the fun in that!
just ralised I've been looking for mi5/12 on and off for the last 20 mins or so - it an obvious one?
I haven't got it yet. I'll have a look.
mi5 is the mi4/5 with r on the end
nm found it.
its the bishops hat.
fmitch.... your odd spot is added... go have a look on the righthand side of lickety's page
I will change the 1 of 2 to 1 of 3
hi limecat :D
/me miss limecat :P
Great MrP, only one thing it's 1 of 3 not 1 of 2 :)
hello mica!
how many words today?
126 words today
126 words.
think i better come back later then best finish my work before i tackle this :P
Fmitch... you are the 'maiden voyage!!"
thats me done..... it was quick i think
:) brb on the phone
haz howz u this morin ?
hannah lou gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
just a few vowels today... :)
eeee iii ooo u & u..... a?
Hannah Lou - sorry - was upstairs. I'm fine this morning.
.... and that is what my violin playing sounds like too!
The violin is an instrument which is sublime when played well and horrific when played badly.
With some instruments it makes no difference.....
maybe you could try a crwth instead?
phew! I was hoping for a small one today - I've got to spend most of teh day packing and getting ready to fly off tomorrow morning!
yeah... like the acoustic rap artist
Good morning Atalante.
morning!
What happens to the pets while you are away?
(((atalante))) survivour panama is on!! what to do? what to do??
Hobbit's going to dog prison, I mean her favourite boarding kennels, and Silverclaw is staying here - husband will be here, so she'll have him around mornings and evenings - i just think she's a bit too young and timid to manage well with kennels for 2 weeks. And husband will get Hobbit at the weekends so she'll get 2 days here each week anyway. Their arrangements are more complicated than mine!
dog prison are coming to pick Hobbit up in *gulps* 1 hour and 19 minutes
We've always been fortunate enough to use either my sister-in-law or our daughters as dog-sitters while we're away. I still worry about the dog, though. The daughters don't trouble me at all.....
I know Hobbit will be fine - the kennel owners *love* her (one of the advantages of spaniels, everyone immediatelyloves them!) and the kennels is also a rescue centre - the owners spend their lives looking after anything and everything that gets brought to them, from hedgehogs and ferrets to horses and donkeys - I trust people like that with my Hobbit!
So, it's not so much a term in prison as an educational break! It sounds lovely - do they take humans?
I wish LOL! Its as lovely a place as kennels can be! The dogs have walks every day in their grounds (which are enormous) then get brushed down / washed in their own special heated washing room!! I really want to just go and hug Hobbit madly, and get together her food and basket, but then she'll KNOW something is up!
I understand completely!
I dont mind leaving my husband for a few weeks, but Hobbit? That's trauma!
And I suppose your husband knows this too!
Of course LOL! He knows his station in the grand order of things :P
help needed on the last two mu - 5 - 14's. have monkey typed for ages. last resort is to ask.
One mu5/14 is the comparative for mu4/6 - more quietly
got that one ta, its the last two
Another is mu plus two consonants and the first vowel
Sorry - I should look at the list and be more constructive.
mu + two consonants + 2nd vowel
thanks
I say goodnight! GOODNIGHT (waving)
night mrp!
Good night!
I know its a proper name, but aoife is such a nice word
Well I am done, not a bad grid today, and I must be off. Bye all see you later and have a great trip Atalante.
no wonder i couldn't find them two. i already had them but had ticked off the wrong ones. anyway , all sorted and finished now. good day to all
bye FMitch! see you in 2 weeks :)
Bye FMitch. Have a good day!
Atalante - Irish Gaelic specialises in unpronounceable looking names!
I know! But they do sound beautiful when you've unravelled them!
anyone have the so 6?
I can't believe I'm having to write out instructions on how to empty the litter tray for my husband *facepalm*
so6 - if you have the bitter so4/5, add the first vowel before the last letter, and the third vowel after it.
thanks!
good morning everyone:)
You're welcome, rycaut. And now I must go and do something more constructive - Atalante, if I'm not speaking to you again today, have a great trip!
bye Haz!
morning everyone!
good morning Ginger, and everyone. Grid looks more manageable today than yesterday's, which was brutal.
I love chicken salad. It's totally silly... I've had chicken salad for like... every single meal for the past three days... and I'm still not tired of it.
That was a delightful non-sequitar, Hollybug :) I like Chicken Salad too.
Hehe. :o) Good morning.
Randomness is good. In my humble opinion. And I'm feeling quite random today.
Well this is a good place to indulge in randomness, especially considering we are playing a random grid with random words forming out of random letters
The randomness is now becoming a pattern-chicken salad is one of my favorites too. Especially curried chicken salad with grapes and pecans. Have a wonderful trip Atalante! Hobbit will be fine. Silverclaws will be fine. And just think of the welcome home you'll get. Some other time I'll tell you the story of my husband taking care of our 19 year old cancer ridden cat when I was away in New Mexico.
morning Eva. I actually had Mesquite Chicken Salad last night at Applebees Restaurant with my beloved. (Just another addition to the CS discussion)
EXACTLY Eva! That's totally what I love. Like... I have a thing for foods with interesting textures... and I love the mix of flavors.
also sour cherries,or dried cranberries, and celery, and red onion, or chutney.
I've never had it with cranberries, but I bet it would be awesome. This chicken salad has celery, grapes, apples and pecans.
oh yes, dried cranberries and celery and red onion -- mmm. I found a wonderful dressing called "Cranberry Harvest" that I've become quite fond of lately, especially with chicken salads.
Also, the best ones I've made have been with the left overs from really good rotiserrie chicken.
Getting very hungry. So is Merp. Only a matter of time before he bites the hand that feeds him.
Hi Eva!! are you here?
Who is merp?
Toooooooo maaaaaany vooooweeeeeels!
I agree. I've just about run out of words I can find with no help. But I should probably get read for school soon.
Buenos dias Elena!!! So exciting to see you here again!
The handsome guy in my icon is Merp.
(Merp is secretly the genius behind Eva's success at Babble) :)
awww. Hehe. I have my own babies here. Mikey was mewing at the door, and Big Cat slept with me last night. Joe (the husband) slept on the couch because he's on call and his pager goes off in the middle of the night. I have trouble getting back to sleep... so. He was being nice.
That I have any success at babble is questionable...I sort of limp along. But having someone with fangs hovering over your mouse hand can have a concentrating effect.
lol. I wish Mikey helped me. Unfortunately when he lays on my keyboard... he never types REAL words... just like... aaaawwwwddddd```.
The log this morning has displayed a very interesting theme re the relative positions of husbands and cats(-:
Eva Yes! but I'm getting hungry with all those exquisite chicken salads, and its just only breakfast time All OK? Here it's just the normal-abnormal.. big hugs
lol. I haven't looked back this morning.
Yes, everything is OK. Cindy and I are going for a drive today to a wonderful park by Lake Champlain. Aside from that just the usual creaky body.
(chuckles at Eva's comment) You're right, and if my husband and I were allowed to be owned by cats in our rental, we would be -- and he would understand his rightful position :) As it is, we're 'grandparents' to the neighborhood cats, who know we keep treats on hand.
Does anyone remember an eerie short story by Colette about one spouse murdering the cat out of jealousy? Think we should be careful.
lol.
Eva, have a very nice day, and give my love to Cindy!!!!
Give Milton a hug for me.
ch-I'm all in favor of late in life relationships. I was on my own for 17 years before I met my present partner and soul mate....that was 16 years ago, at the age of 40. So much saner and for better reasons than when younger.
oh-talk about nonsequitors!!! I had just read your bio.
mornin babblers!!
Have to sign off and do non-babble things. See you all later.
oh yes, Eva -- I like the way you put that, saner and for much better reasons. We have both spent significant time growing and getting healthy. He is truly my best friend (next to myself, of course)
Bye Eva! :o)
Bye Eva
The next to yourself is exactly the point! How can you possibly know, let alone appreciate another person, if you haven't gotten up close and personal with yourself?
Absolutely true. And speaking of beloveds, he just woke up :) so I'm off for awhile to say good morning. BBL
Greetings, everyone!!!!
morning
Greetings, Hursh.....
and to you, cinematichomosapien
okay kids. I suppose I will be back later. Have a good day! :o)
LOL, Hursh....
phew, i was afraid the joke wasn't playing well. hi and bye holly!
Hursh - maybe that's what I should rename myself.....
if you like :)
Good morning Good morning to everyone! movie man. Love the new nickname but it is something of a mouthful
more like a handful - since we're typing morning sonorificmaternalfigure
LOL Good morning scrumptiouschocolateydelight
Hiya, the other MM.....
oh, except that is hershey, and that is not where i got my name. however, i could be called worse things than scrumptiouschocolateydelight
Hey, Hursh, swallowed a thesaurus have we.....LOL
Good Morning Babblers - Yeah for a short grid :)
Hiya mm1 - - Hey I watched Spartacus last night. It was good but I was expecting more total action. I don't know why. I was surprised by the love story and development of story. I'm definitely not sorry i watched it.
actually my mother ate the pages of one whilst i was in the womb
it's a modern greek tragedy
It's early - haven't had my coffee yet - best I could do. Give me a couple minutes to sip the java and I can probably come up with something mathematical.
Wellhowtheheckiseveryonetoday? *teehee*
Morning faerie
Yes, mm2, it is a good film, and not a lot of people are aware that Kubrick directed it..... In terms of Kubrick films, it's not as widely known as say, 2001, a Clockwork Orange or The Shining.....
no no i am glad to be scrumptious
Hiya, faerie....
Loved Clockwork Orange. Have never seen the Shining. Maybe I should check that one out. More recently and not Kubrick but I also watched Cold Mountain and Coach Carter this week. Enjoyed both of them also. Cold Mountain was neat because of the ending -- can't be termed happy or sad I think.
Music - you better get you coffe Hon. You may need it to function today. You were up late last night and I'll gulping mine down like water :)
morning pixieisheleventhletter
Or, Eyes Wide Shut (chiming into the Kubrick mention) which I thought was brilliant but misunderstood
and chidozendozen
No doubt Faerie - I couldn't believe when I looked at the clock how late it was when I left the log. Felt bad leaving with Stid so close to finishing but I was exhausted. I've already hit the yoga mat this morning. I'll be fine. Java is beside me
{{{MovieMan}}} Good morning...can you believe I finished yesterdays grid. I'm so proud of myself. Angelsong helped me switch to firefox a few days ago and I'm blown away at how much better the game goes for me now.
i suppose that's why Java the computer thing is called that - they drank so much while creating it
Mus*
morning!
brb Max just threw up right by my chair....*yuch*
faeriekae, is the firefox that much different than Explorer? I've been wondering.
Belated Bravo for Faerie. Terrific!!!
I'm not faerie but YES in my most humble opinion firefox is ten times better than explorer. Morning Angel
infernovulpes is much more picturesque than magellanlikebrowser to say the least
Hurshy you are killing me. Ca you keep that up all day?
Specifics, please -- what makes it better?
ch1212 Firefox is tons better than IE in my opinion. Firefox has been my default browser for three years. I use it for everything, and love it.
And also, Full Metal Jacket, which is, in my opinion, one of THE best war films ever made...... I especially admire R. Lee Ermey's performance as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman...... "What is your major malfunction, numbnuts? Didn't Mommy and Daddy show you enough attention when you were a child? "
i probably won't want to :)
just hit 100! doubt i can finish before class without listing though.
Yep enjoyed Full Metal Jacket. My MIL loves that movie which would crack you up if you knew her.
movieman, that's not your moniker for nothing -- you hit it on the head with that performance in FMJ, which is (I agree) even better than Apocolypse Now.
LOL Hurshy. I just realized I haven't even put any words in my list yet. I've seen some just haven't typed them.
for one thing, Firefox is more secure than IE. not as many security holes as IE, and those there may be get fixed quickly. Extensions make it possible to have all kinds of extra convenient features, and I can use different extensions on different Firefox profiles. I have one profile set up fo daily use, one for work, one for Babble...
words words words oh how i love them much better than turds or even than birds give me lots of wooooooords!
I'm back - Music was going to tell ya that I stayed to the flip and clued.
I like being able to open different tabs instead of windows. Much easier for switching between babble and my office:-)
LOLOL Hurshey
yeah yeah tabs good
Hursh - how many cups of coffee have you had? I want what you're having. Good for you Faerie - then you are probably more exhausted than I am. Did Stid finish?
they need to read harry potter don't they know about floo powder???
hurshy never has had coffee in whole life! very proud of this. and have consumed no food or drink today yet.
Firefox has been my default browser for about a year now..... I'm signed up with AOL, but I only ever use that for checking my e-mails, even though I have two e-mail addresses.....
Mmmm. Sounds like we need to take a closer look at Firefox. Thank you so much for your input.
Maybe floo is a brand name?<G>
oh... good point sonorificmaternalfigure (henceforth SMF)
hmmmmm maybe I should starve myself........nah
I recently started using firefox because of issues with Safari, I like it helluva lot. And good morning to all.
And I'm now CHS....
todays theme?
greetings infamousgangster
Music - No Stid didn't get to finish but she was very close I felt bad for her ;(
That new nickname sounds .....uhm......... exotic. Thanks Hursh. I'll never remember you are talking to me. Capone - I also switched from Safari. Morning!
CHS, i went to CHS (Coventry High School)! :)
fountains
Looks like y'all are having too much fun here today! Wish I could stay, but just popped in to make sure Music Mom wasn't slacking! I'll need those clues tonight when I might finally have a chance to begin the grid. If I start now, I will miss Bible study and COM! :)
And greetings to you, Capone..... I would say "Good Morning", but it's nearly 14:00 over here....
Capone - anything Red is the theme
infamous gangster? me? As I told TSM last night, I'm just a hump from Jersey....
ooh military time. i LOVE military time.
Hey BGL - have a good day. I'll be done before you know it. (hahahahahhhaaa I only have 2 words in my list even though I have typed a thousand in the chat).
oh faerie i think you are mixed up, today is fountains
Faerie - red is TOMORROW'S theme.....
BGL -- btw --- good thinking on the number of pieces of taffy and yes we can coordinate packing. My curling iron sucks - can I use yours?
what's today theme ----- fountains.... brb
Damnit Faerie!!!! I chose the dvd cover for the Ah-nold/Jim Belushi classic "Red Heat" as my "Red" icon. lol
As tomorrow's theme is red, I'll be choosing a certain cosmos based craft that goes by the moniker of crimsonshortperson.....
don't sweat it capone - use it tomorrow.
i think i picked out an apple for tomorrow. i am very dull.
apples aren't dull
movieman, I thought that was a type of star, not spacecraft :)
no they are YUMMY!! my dad always pretends that he doesn't like them and says he eats them in order to rid the world of them.
Hurshy - just curious. Have you found all the w words without the list? They are funky with it
*lightbulbs go on over heads as everyone realizes now why hurshy is so weird*
yes i have all the w's.
Tell your dad he can't have mine. I'll take care of it for him.
will do SMF
and you have only one w and one a in your grid? Don't clue me I can figure this out.
wow i am so stuck now.
OOHHHHHH DUH I'm a dork!
my husband told me that dork means whale penis! yikes! i am going to pretend i don't know that.
Hursh - you couldn't clue me up with my last 3 w's could ya? I already have the wh4/9, the wa4/9, and the wa6/33....
Oh joy!! Well I'm not that but I definitely need a crate of fish
there is another wh4/9 which is real if slangy, and two more odd wa 4/9s
You can clue him or I can - I have them now.
anybody have the u from the bottom row?
Who is SMF? And refresh. Thats Friendship Fountain on the southbank of the St. Johns river here in Jville
SMF is musicmom (sonorificmaternalfigure)
It's me Capone sonorificmaternalfigure
capone - and I am now CHS (cinematichomosapiens)....
and YOU are IG (infamousgangster)
while *I* am SCD
hi everyone
but only due to a fortunate homonymical coincidence
hey hey my friend!
Ok, SMF is a nickname the guys at work use for me on occasion. Along with SOB, MFDH, SPOS, POS, CSMF and a few others I won't type here.
oh DEAR. these are not like that, IG.
I don't like IG, can I just be JC?
oh well you can just be capone, or whatever you want, we're just goofing around
LOL Hurshy and Capone - are you trying to tell me something? I thought you liked me.
JC is fine. ;p
not ME not ME i do not speak in such manners
Thats what you get for thinking Mmom. just kidding!
thinking? thinking? I thought that is what we were supposed to do here hehehehehee.
TSM's new nickname can be SL (spider lover)
No she would have to be digitcoveringprimate. DCP
how funny that the whole middle column today is vowels
hello everyone!
and capone's can be LP. little prick. of a needle of course :P
SMF gets the idea very well
RFLOL -- Ata that was great.
Gotta go, I'm just nipping up town for an hour or so.... Be back later.....
hello synagoguebucephera
DONE...anyone need a clue??
LP.... 8*( I told her not to tell anybody!
yeah, ochita! please, u from the bottom row?
Bye chs I'll brb need more java.
sorry capone. couldnt help it!
how CLOSE we came to having zither. :(
yay ouwa! does anyojne understand the rankings? i did yesterday's marathon and did not advance one single point!
you mean in the elders one, TO? (or SB now)... maybe it just hasn't updated yet...
TO that happened to me last week and Dr._God said to give it a day or two and see if it fixed itself and it did. Bravo Ouw.
owl...there is an explanation for the rankings on the left side of the rankings page
That's a great instrument too bad it isn't here.
hurshy...it is all vowels
i lost points because i left 8 words in the easter day puzzle ( no time to finish)
no wonder i haven't got it then. yikes, there are a lot of possibilities then. length/points?
good morning all. didn't finish yesterday's marathon. I tried to do it like Hurshy and only found just over a 100 words. Of course didn't work on it all day though. 47 left to find today using Lickety's page.....
hurshy...er5/12...add 3 vowels
hurshy...sorry...that is ur5/12...not er5/12
TO I lost major points last week because I didn't finish the grid that was almost 500 words. I've been wanting to get to 1000 in the cream of the crop but I backslid terribly with that one. Couldn't resist playing though. Go bbnaz!
phew, because i was really confused there...but so then it is not ALL vowels? it is UR7?
ur5 hursh
no wait it can't be have the 7's...you are only saying that it IS a 5/12 i am so dumb sorry
Okay now I'm pouring coffee brb.
phew, got it, glad that's over
atalante? how you doing?
faffing really. 46 words to go while trying to pack at the same time
pack pack pack will you be able to babble while away? and where were you yesterday?
this is the fountain in my garden but you can't see it very well. It's a faerie fountain and she is holding a calla lilly where the water come out :)
is there a clue in for ur 5 somewhere in that discussion?
yesterday - refusing to get into a big grid while running round madly! andno babble :( this is last babble for2 weeks!
but now you can refresh for the one I'll use today
oh NO!!!!! yes temple the clue is that after the ur it is all vowels
to - ur and then start adding the vowels in order
i'm doing so well today atalante. yesterday i think i may have driven sprite a little crazy...
poor spritey!
did she say anything this morning like "that hurshy sure is nuts"
didnt see her this morning!
oh no, i broke sprite.
well hurshy I wouldn't say that you are nutz.....in fact after trying your method yesterday, I am even more impressed.........with you ability to work without the list.
atalante and sprite do it better :)
do what better?
find words without the list
bbnaz - my goal is to be trying without the list this summer when I can sit on the deck and watch the kids in the pool and not have to prepare lesson plans or girl scout meetings.
nahhhhhhh
i am a humble apprentice
nahhhhhhhhhh
let the force flow you, young padawan
well i am waving from a planet far far away!
flow THROUGH you!
sprite had like 133 to go when i first saw her yesterday and i had like 20 or 30 something and she still beat me.
sounds familiar
We must be builidng up for earth day - those earth words have been in a lot of recent grids.
Just curious - when you work without the list do you get as many clues from the log as possible or do you also ignore those?
i usually can't help seeing them. and when they are for weird words, i am glad of that!
but i do NOT look at the chat until i am at least half done
Faerie, Atalante said I was LP.... 8(
praes u lurking
capone - you can spin it though - make it long playing :)
I try to ignore the chat when I first start - even when I go with the list. I try to do as much as possible without the help. It's hard sometimes though. Yesterday i was taking every clue and used the list from the get go because I wanted to finish.
i give thanks and hallelujas for the chat on most days. without these mental giants, this pea squiddler would NEVER finish..............
If it hadn't been for Faerie and Jainnaih (sp) last night I wouldn't have finished. I was slugging to the end. Very grateful they were here.
awww *blush* You could have done it Music :)
{{Capone}} there, there, now....what is LP :)
No way faerie. I was going to just quit and give up and you guys kept me going.
Little prick.
I was happy to be able to help Music. You guys help me all the time and I love to be able to return the favor. And I think we determined that " curve letter is "c" and hook letter is "r" LOL
Absolutely! One hump is an n and two humps is an m
But Capone - aren't you???
and a snake is an s
HELLOOOO
Hiya Scatty
8*(*****
Hi Scatty - and you are correct about the snake letter :)
I guess I'll have to post a pic.
hI MUSICMUM, DID YOU GET A GOOD SLEEP
But Capone thats what TSM told us
8***************************** **********************(******* ****************************** **************************
Yes I did -- it was short sleep though
Faeriekae, have you thought of any more letter clues since the other day
Scatty - not yet *phew*
did stid finish last night
Hi- and a big t y for the thanks for last night....i get so much help here that it is nice to help back :o)
Hey Jai - I knew I spelled your name wrong. Have I mentioned that I hate re words?
No Stid didn't make it...But it was soooo close. She gave it her 100% but the clock woudn't stop ticking.
i cannot get the re 6's at all......
Good afternoon/morning all.
re6/21 - put your players back in their place re6/18 - rip up again
Morning haz
i supose i'd better look at the grid, i haven't started yet
brb - phone
Its me calling Faerie...I'm gonna give you a piece of my mind! >:{
Oh oh oh don't answer faerie.
morning Haz
hi haz- THANKS for the clues!!!!!!
Hello bbnaz and everyone.
i forgot i can babble in class today! yippee!
You're welcome, jai.
few more minutes for me and then off to bring home my mare and filly from the hospital....but back to finish before the flip.
we got ae's today?
jest one Hursh
good to know, thanks.
last re - hammer again
brb
i didn't get it, musicmom.....dumb this am.....
it actually means to like rework something, jai
me neither Jai so dumb am i too
sorry that was obscure.
the mo words are kicking my bootie too
I'm not there yet. I'm working backwards and chatting too much.
still stupid.....i have most everything up to the r's if you need clues...
with 15 to go, a rousing game of guess what hurshy is missing might be in order if anyone wants to play
he 6/27?
5 points, jai!
now i just have to find it
cross head with fume
Jai - a hammer is a to4 add re before it.
okay see you later. taking girls to dentist, school and then picking up horses. back later before we close as i have 28 to go.
excellent, done with the h's now. i need two a words...
Good morning.
morning harp
morning harp
ty for the great clue for my last re!!!!!!! can i help, hursh?
you cana try, jai - you nailed it on the H - so what two a's do you think i might miss?
ugh this keyboard is not good
Morning, all. Did someone say "Judi, Judi, Judi" ?
hiya, h.j. do you play harp?
g'morning everyone :)
morning talk
ar 5/12 and 6/24?
i have a 5/12 but not a 6/24, are there 2 5/12's?
Morning Judi - missed you coming in. Sorry.
yes, two 5/12s
well just wanted to say hello... no time right now to play .... good luck everyone :) lata!
10 more points to you then jai (you are good at GWHIM!)
back for quick round II this morning -- hello to all who arrived. Clue please for the he 6/27? And/or the hu 6/27?
jai, yes I do. It's a hobby that got out of hand!
he6 jai's clue is just down a little hu6 funny bones
most hobbies do Harp - you should see my sewing room.
he 6/27 cross head and fume
Harpjane, shouldn't that be a "hobby that got INTO hand" ? :) Or into fingers ...
hu6/27 - would be more than one funny bone (latin plural)
Well, this grid looks miserable. Seems like we either have too many vowels or not enough.
okie dokie now jai, care to continue your brilliant streak with my missing M in the fourth row?
he6/27 - h plus French for water (*** de toilette) and end with personal pronoun
It really isn't bad at all Judi.
lol ch1212! Hey, I meant to ask you, where are you moving in WA? East or West?
Vary cool, harp- I play viola and piano, and knutmeg plays French horn really well...(secret)
remind me not to tell jai any secrets
To Seattle area, harpjane. My beloved will go to University for either another Masters (he has 2) or his Doctorate. I'm actually looking forward to the rain!
f horn is my second favorite instrument, viola is right up there too. Something about those mid-range sounds that appeals to me, I guess.
me 6/21?
thanks for the clues, Haz, Jai and hurshy! Got them
me 6/21 is more of me 4/5
nope, i have that one, for babble is my me6/21
me6/21 is French for profession or leaning. me plus ti4/4
lol ch1212, no it isn't, it just looks that way
how bout what kitties say plural?
:) I know. I was being silly
oh haz, jai wasn't asking but guessing in ye olde game of GWHIM
Wow we could have an orchestra. I play piano and my husband plays oboe and sax. My daughter is a beginning flute student.
yes indeedy for i have 3 cats
Cool, your beloved will fit right in at UW, lots of people with master's degrees waiting tables! There's a wonderful old church in the vicinity. I forget what it's called. I went to mass there a couple of years ago.
well ok then i like silly
Or a band- hubby plays bari sax; knut plays French horn; Katie plays flute and piccolo; and Kim also plays oboe and xylophone during marching season.....
We're looking forward to it. Looked up several parishes on the Diocesan directory, and Seattle has DOZENS of parishes. Here in Idaho Catholics are a real minority -- there is one parish in Twin Falls (population 35,000), but dozens of LDS stake wards (the predominant religion here)
my degree was in voice and piano so I could also sing.
ch1212-yup. been there!
music mom, maybe we could start out each game with a rousing chorus of the alphabet song!
spock did a little too much LDS at berkeley in the 60's....
soprano 1 here!!!!! "here Ye, Israel" nearly killed me....
lol hurshy, I gotta start playing the game here!
That is the funniest line in any ST movie, hurshy -- especially to those of us who have LDS friends, are LDS, or live in a predominantly LDS area. The whole theatre just broke up laughing around here.
which game, harp? babble, or GWHIM?
Wow, another one bites the dust
heading back home now, see y'all in a few mins
ExWren, you finished? Congrats!
LOL harp that would be great. I'm a true mezzo soprano although I've been enlisted for sop 1 at times.
Bravo Exwren
ty ch...I've not played properly for a few days, I won't get involved with the biggies
your voice must sound beautiful, musicmom. I am such a low alto that when I was in Seminary Choir they had me sing tenor. Of course, I was the only female among 70+ students, so that's probably why too. Still, I held my own!
Help, I'm stuck for an fe4. have the one with the two point tile as the third letter, and the one for afraid.
do you have the thing at the bottom of your legs?
Good Morning, Everyone. Wow! I haven't been doing Babble for very long ... just turned Pro last night ... but ths seems to be one of the stranger ones ... so many vowels!
fe4/7 - look down at what is attached to your legs.
Gotta get back to the puzzle!!!!! See you later!!!
I'm 2nd Alto as well, and my husband is bass. His choir is holding a St. George's Day concert on Sunday
Hi Merk! Congrats on going Pro
Hey Merk - you got your icon. Wooohoooo!!!!! Welcome to the pro world.
welcome merk!
where is your handbag merk?
i'm back, very nice merk!
ch1212, I'd be happy to share information about Firefox with you if you'd like to e mail me.
ei6/21? em624? et5/12? Then I can eat breakfast.
5 points to harp for em 6/24 ei - ei6/or et5 - old anaesthetic
ei 6/21 is often said with 'or' to give alternatives to something.
Thanks, angelsong -- I mentioned it to my husband this morning after getting the other feedback, and we agreed to explore it a bit more. I'll email you through your resource page link.
I'm going to take a break and do some cleaning. Lots of company coming this weekend and next. Be back in a bit.
em 6 -- take your em4/6 and add a cross letter + second vowel
em6/24 - extends the previous em4 with almost all of a beverage that sounds like a letter
Time for dog walking. Happy hunting.
missing one i - any takers?
wooohooo. got em! thanks
Handbag? You tell me. I have no idea where it is, what it's function is, or how to get one. I asked someone last night, but I don't think they understood my question.
that'll be an easy one to get points on just by process of elimination
it6 - I bet - I'm having trouble with it
10 points mm for NOT using elimination, bang on the dot.
merk tell it your gender
Merk - fill in your bio and check the box that asks if you want it to show. Then you will have a handbag.
Merk, I think if you check the tickbox in your profile page to display your profile, your handbag will appear.
If you find it will you clue it?
mm how much is it worth?
Off to the post office -- BBL.
of course, mm!!
I don't deserve 10 points. I understand the rules now<G>
merk, it indicates male or female in your profile
24 points hurshy. Can you see how I'm cleaning the piano room.
So where do I get the female handbag?
lol, female handbag...Funny. I never saw a handbag until now. just a head with pink sholders or blue shoulders. Welcome Merck. Hi gang.
i should have thought of that before! mm - it has to do with repeating a process... it's a latin singular...
Merk - click on the my profile at the top of this page. In the optional (other ) information box put a check mark in the show profile.
35 points left up for grabs in GWHIM - two R's one from each box, one M from fourth row, two F's and two S's
hurshy the weirdest r for me was a 5, re then ending in the first part of the long word for not permanent?
Hursh me4/6 there is only one of them.
Hurshy, just curious: what is GWHIM?
5 points to joey!!! angelsong - "guess what hurshy is missing"
ru 4/6
sorry mm, had that already
LOL...that's cute, Hurshy...
yippee. tyvm
hursh do you have two ra5/12?
ru = lady from the Bible
that leaves one R from bottom row, one M from 4th, and the 2 F's and 2 S's
thanks for the it btw.
Thank you for asking faerie, I didn't like to ask in case it was too obvious
OK, we'll see if my handbag shows now.
yes mm i have two ra 5/12
so6/21 hurshy
You got it Merk.
5 points to mm for the SO
so5/18 hurshy
Yeahm merk, you are female!
have the 5/18
Okay seriously. I have to go clean the piano room. it doubles as the guest room and BGL and her husband would like a place to sleep. Be back in about an hour.
How about sh 5/12
bye bye MM, and thanks for playing GWHIM! (do i sound like a game sh4 host yet?)
there are 3 sh5/12 hursh
i have 2 sh 5/12
Bye - yes you do and it is a very fun game.
What are you missing now hurshey, I've lost track
aha, 5 more points then to you MM
two F's, one R from bottom, one M from fourth row
see I could be good at this game.
:) you are good mm. :)
there is an ri4/5 and ri5/12
this third 5/12, is it all vowels after the sh?
yup, have those exwren
no hurshy it ends with a consonant. it is also a biblical word
no, it is hell, nvm
there are 10 dreaded re's
got it thanks mm :)
well exwren it can't be an re because it is from the bottom
alright, be awkward
hehe by the way, i am now missing 3 4's and a 6 - if you get the 6 next i can prob find the rest by monkeying :) which means i would award you extra points. so your choices are R, M, F
well you've got the ru, so it must be one of the 4 ra's
indeed, i have only 3 ra's
5 points to exwren!
two 4's and two 5's
that leaves one M and 2 F
yeah i found it exwren, but thanks :)
and yes, i have four fo words relating to the thing at the bottom of my leg, before anyone asks
do you have the ma4/9?
yup yup
I've been lurking... but do you have fl 6/27 or fo 6/30
5 points cheesio, i do not have fl6!
You should have 8 me's
got mi6/24 hursh?
yay points! :)
yes ata - was surprised to see that scottish word in there
fo 6? last 4 letters are a type of tiny, tiny burrowing bug?
oh exwren, you are now becoming too list-like... you can't play GWHIM that way :)
all my other words are common ones still, sorry :(
'sok ata :)
dear guppie this was harder than yesterday club
fl 6? f in front of a lo 5?
Good morning all. The very first word I saw was an m6--a word my grandMOTHER used to use of being worried, anxious, flustered--"Dinna ****** thysen".
joey, cheesio already got that one, but 5 points anyway!
so that leaves an f4 and m4
oh, well. how about the fo 6 - got that one?
look hershy, either you want help or you don't. I have finished the puzzle, i'm not quoting from a list
f 4 is an fl? follows ice?
exwren - i don't mean to appear critical, it's just that the point of the game is for people to guess, not to tell me there are that many of something, because then i might as well get the list. but as always, people should only play the game if they find it fun, it is by no means compulsory.
yes joey have those :)
I'm back - long phone call.
i do appreciate your willingness to help though exwren!! :) :)
how about fe 4/8?
fe with a chair and a squiggle?
5 more points to cheesio!
and to joey - that was a tie, i'd say :)
I won't interfere again with your game
last word, you all are excellent players! m4, fourth row. if someone tells me the point total i can just monkey it.
exwren, please don't take it the wrong way - it's just my quirkiness!
please, do forgive me for being a silly young whippersnapper :)
exWren, I would welcome a clue for the fo6/30, please and thank-you (or thanks to anyone who can provide.)
ch - joey gave a lovely clue for that at 10:00
exwren, exwren, where are you? the last thing hurshy wants is to hurt anyone's feelings!
thanks for the compliment from the master clue giver, I am honored.
thx hurshy - got it
bbl gotta go to the bank and see if they made any money to give me. *teehee*
he he, see if they made any for me while you're there faerie
I cannot find two words, and would appreciate help- so 6/21 and te6/18. HELP!!!!! Thanks :o)
so 7/21 start's like campbell's tomato and ends with white house press secretary fleischer
te 6/18 = te 5/10 + second vowel
te 6/18 latin plural of prev te5
i meant 6/21, obviously, sorry.
great clue, hurshy!
thanks une
i have 4 more, need some help, please. lo 6/18 the first me 4/6 the me 5/12 the third sh 5/12 HELP?
Bam Bam Bam <------------Jai slaps forehead repeatedly.....Thank you!!!!
lo6--think signs reading "no lo----ing" --where the powers that be don't want folks hanging around
lo 6/18 the most passive illegal act
I think the me4/6 is an abbrev. for ********* spirits
me 4/6 short form of a bad drug me 5/12 not a yard but a ....
sh 5/12 hebrew word for hell.
answers both m clues- a Me** thermo me****
Hurshy, sorry, Hebrew is rusty. any thing else. and the me 4/6 that i am missing is not the bad drug. got the me 5 need the fish for that one, must be not enough brain cells awake this morning.. loved the lo clue - got it right away. thanks
1000 points to joey, that is what i need too then. sh5 assonates with what you are in if you jump from a plane with no chute
me add french for or
i cannot be excited over finishing or the very excellent game of GWHIM because i am inconsolable from offending exwren.
Joey--how's your Latin? The me4 you want may be the latin term for "measure" ; as for the Hebrew, try third person pronoun--feminine--followed by the middle letters of "hole"
I'm totally stuck on he 5/14 and 6/24 any help please?
he 5/14 peewee he***** cut off last letter. latin pl for 6.
Thank you! i'm sure I tried that... all done now :D
oh wait do you not know about him in england??? shoot.
oh you do, good.
hurshey, take heart. I'm sure ex-wren has simply popped off to do chores or whatever, having finished for the day, and will be back tomorrow perky as ever. No one could be really offended by your spirit.
well if i don't see her, anyone that does, tell her how i feel ok?
Success! For the first time, I finished a puzzle.
congrats, biggles!
thank you.
thanks for the points, Latin is better than the Hebrew that is for sure. and the me 4 is the last one for me. (had to actually do some work for a moment)
joey, did you see my 10:32 clue for the me?
yeah biggles!
yup, i keep getting interrupted. have to get something done, then I will get back for this last tiny, tiny one.
GOT IT, GOT IT. that was harder than usual for me..... thanks for all the help
congrats, joey!
wtg biggles. feels good doesn't it. you can actually have a life for the rest of the day - or get some work done!
he6/27?
he 6/27 looks like it would sound like the actor who played benson
hurshy, that clue sailed all the way over my head.
clue for fo7,40 please
Robert Guillaume. French. Silent "L's". Still sailed over my head too.
sorry! :( it was just what stuck out at me about the word. fo7 - more like the thing at the end of your leg
fo 7/40, like fo 6/27, but more so
thanx, abe79
I know about Rober Guiillaume...but I"m still drawing a blank on the he6/27 clue...
cute photo, rumple!
yw rumplestittskin. still confused about he 6/27
he6, ends like his name
Fair to Midland rocks!, check 'em out!
got it! v. clever clue hurshy!
got the he6/27. what a word.
and smaller
hey smaller, capone! : )
that's our new baby Scottish Highland calf. Thanx
he6/27 clue: he = symbol for gold + singular personal pronoun
put a plus where the = is in the he clue I just gave :)
hey temple! odd grid today. even odder chat log
back for my last 33. The piano room still isn't clean but the porches are all swept, the grill is ready to cook dinner and the surfaces on the cabinets are cleared. Lunch and babble time.
that would be my fault, i suppose, smaller...
yes - i'm about to bail - too nice to spend lunch indoors!
Hi all......
BTW - my fountain was in the movie the sixth sense...so that makes it in phiadelphia of course!
Hi cait.
smaller, I'm with you. Been lurking for a while, reread chat log and have learned the true meaning of "dork", know more about a platypus than I can ever use, and other assorted oddball info. lots of words too no, doubt, some great clues...
has the dork thing been verified?
Oops the dork thing was my fault.
I went to webster and saw that it is used as a slang for male genitalia...couldn't find the whale thing though.
What have i been missing?(looking back at log)
LOL MM and misstear!
you never know what you will find with you look back for clues...
Its gone very quiet out there Spooky!!!!!!!
Please, what's all this about a whale's dork? I can't scroll back today!
it's the th5/14 for the day
I said I was a dork and someone said that is what a whale's penis is called. :-P
Well what do you know. I had it all the time. Ta.
anyone care to know the definitions? a dork is someone socially inept - MM i don't think that applies to you - do you?
awww, temple owl!!!! that's soooo sweet!! and MM - she's right! totally not you
I'd like to think not TO but considering things Capone was calling me earlier..... hehehee
Im here with a student showing her what this is. Sorry for the interruption
thanks Smaller.
I just used dork because I didn't want to type ignoramous
well - that's different - LOL! besides - i have taken the nerd, geek dork test and i am 69% nerd!
LOL
yo deutsch!
Hey temple!
Hi Deutsch and student
Hi Caitlyn! student says hi!
Grid looks manageable. I haven't started. What's it like?
Hi gang. It's friendly today.
blazed through first 60 words easy, but slowed then after. But the log is very fruitful...down to 26 now in less than 2 hours.
Hey, gang! I need help with the me5/20, please?
More than youe me4/9
Thanks, miss! I have to shut down the machine. I'll see you all in about 2 hours. Thanks!
*SMACK* Sad when the simple plural is passed over as we search frantically for weird exotic words...
Bye, Deutsch!
jera that fish is beginning to stink!! Here have a fresh one LOL
I do that ALL the time Jera.
No, you keep it... I'm too embarrassed... dare I ask about the horrible mu's? I am lacking a 4 & a 5... no idea which ones...
Got the 4.
The first 5 mu's all begin with the same three letters.
both mu5 are similar but end with a different vowel
or there is more silent for an mu5
Jera two of the mu 4/6 combos have differen tvowel endings
I need help with the second mu5/14, please
Jera -- is that the mu that makes things quieter?
My typing is getting worse !!
Got it... thanks for the vowel tips. Coulda sworn I tried that 3 times already!
That's the last one, stidmama (I think!)
Hey stid!!! Jera - I swear the grid wasn't taking things I was typing last night. Only would take it when I humbled myself for a clue.
good day, all! back for more punishment...
Now I just have two re's left, a 5 & a 6... Someone hold me...
this is fairly friendly one today stid.
yes, I got to about 50 words to go before I left at the flip. haven't needed the list or clues yet... :-) lots better so far than yesterday!
Hi stidmama
I need the last re5/12, & the very last re, please??
re +t 4/4
is ch1212 here, still?
hi caitlyn -- I suppose you-all can tell I got the wrong th*** for today, but am too lazy to change it right now!
last re5: fix your shoelace again
I go away for a couple of days and BOOM! Things change, Lickety upgrades the clues page, and I think I'm in love with it!
good mirnign all!
Welcome home leigh
hello leigh! yes, isn't Lickety's upgrade marvelous!
Hi boreetos
*boreetos* I didn't see you yesterday...
wow, lets see if I can really misspell "morning" now... molajdsgoaudgo. yeah that's better.
Hello all! Fabulous. I'm tempted to print out the baby grid and bring it to work with me tonight. =)
Jera - did you get help with your re words? My computer froze - had to restart.
all done
yeah work kept me from being on too much yesterday, I was on in the morning around now, and then for a few at lunch but that was it. no afternoon babbling at all!! :(
LOL boreetos (your spelling made sense to me !!)
Bravo Scatty. I just lost my list. Only have 5 words to find though. I think I can I think I can.
congrats, scatty
YAY scatty!
Well done scatty
Go mm!
go musicmom -- go!
caitlyn, that's a bad sign... bet yeah, lickety's upgrade is sweet!
musicmum, can you remember which ones you are missing
I need the ae6. fortunately I have the stats. It won't be hard to figure out what's missing.
I am so stuck on the ME 6/21 that comes after the abbreviated drug name.
merk - take your measure me word and add the third vowel after the cross letter.
merk, last four letters are a layer on a wedding cake
Merk add a vowel in your me 5/12
ar 6 also please.
musicmom, do you need an ae-6 clue? i got it by monkey typing, but i would be glad to share a clue
yes please abe. Thanks!
musicmum - ae+ *** bible +a hook
ae + not here but ***** (minus the last letter)
I would if I could, but I can't find the ME 5/12 either. I have all the other MEs but those two.
thanks Abe. Don't know why I didn't try that.
lol. it took me awhile to get it too!

Sign add another vowel before the end of th6/24
I've never seen it spelled with that ending bofore, only a y
wtg musicmom
*is here, with nose in grid, keeping quiet; much safer/better that way, it seems!*
I'm going to go do a couple of things now but will be back in a little while to help clue. BGL will be back looking for me probably.
YAY musicmmom!

Well done musicmom Hi Mikey
hI MIKEY, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, DID YOU ATTEMPT THE GRID YESTERDAY
hi mikey.
mikey -- guten tag! wie geht's?
hi Jera and Caitlyn :-)
I don't even know what the icon th5/14 is today... still wearing costume from yesterday...
Thanks everyone. Boreeto - there is only one ot word. There is a four letter om word
Jera - fountains. Mikey - Hi - bye - be back soon.

Later Boreetos!
There is only on ot5, bor... do you need the om4?? Leave something out
Bye musicmom Bye Boreetos
bye musicmom!
Okay, i have a quick Spring Cleaning question... what is it that you aren't supposed to mix or it will kill you? Is that bleach & ammonia??
okay, i'm disappearing into the grid for a while.... *poof*
Jera- Yes. My boyfriend did that once in his toilet and he was not doing so well afterwards.
*looks confused at all the comings & goings*
<-----Done. Jera. Don't mix those too, the fumes can make you vomit, or have dizzy spells. You probably will lose some brain cells you really would like to keep for babbling.
Okay, good. I had some stuff I wanted to thin out as I'm a bit allergic, wanted to be safe... I much prefer vinegar, anyway!
scatty, please help--your clues " hook" and "big curly " simply mystify me
The gods know I don't need to lose any more braincells...
YAY misstearweus!
Well done misstear
hook is a (r) and big curlys are (e)
I have some murphy's oil soap & some all-purpose cleaner... I can add water to those, right? What about vinegar?
I add water to the oil soap often, so you should be good.
Huzzah for misstearweas!!
I'm used to the cheap stuff, but I made the mistake of sending my husband out for some cleaning stuff. I usually do drugstore.com
clues anyone before I'm off to lunch?
Bless you, Scatty. How are you feeling now, Hurshy? I missed you too, Mikey
I think I'm off to lunch as well, maybe some grownup tv before the littlies get home...
Bye Jera
baking powder and white vinigar is ment to be good + lemons are ment to clean off lime scaleif to leave it on for a while
another gem is the Mr. Clean Magic Erasure. Only water needed and it gets everything off.
ITA scatty I love the natural stuff for cleaning both house & body. I'm sensitive to so many chemicals & fragrances, it makes me very particular!
Oh mistearweas!!! I LOVE that thing!! It even gets crayon off walls!
jera, alot of stuff you buy for the bathroom nowaday is sufficating
oh, sorry; hi, musicmom.....and aw, thank hetty.....been busy busy around here, doing our spring cleaning all day yesterday, and much more to do yet, too! :-P
YES!!!! I tell my brother, "bring my nieces, I can handle anything!" goop, crayon, old food, syrupy stoves...the likes...
Jera bicarbonate of soda is great for cleaning your fridge !!
The most exotic thing I have for my bathroom is orange wipes, they are handy & smell good. My daughter cleans the bathroom, though
scatty, try the erasure on the bathtub for the "elbow grease needed" soap scum and you will done in a jiff. Just water. I'm telling you. It's magic.
why is everyone spring cleaning all of a sudden, its still too cold here to get motivated
She is working on the Housekeeping Badge, which is a retired one, but has good stuff kids don't seem to be taught much these days.
Jera, I had to stay away from the wipes. I was misfortunate once to reach around and grab the wrong wipe while on the throne...
cheers misstear
Good afternoon/evening all. How goes the hunt?
I start Spring Cleaning in February, to celebrate Imbolc... I'm actually running late as I'm usually done by actual Spring.
scatty Im decorating the whole house (well hubby is )
Oh my, misstear. We keep the cleaning wipes & the baby wipes in very different places!
I'm done, Haz, aren't you proud of me?
Hi Haz
Oh, congratulations Jera!
thats when we blitz as well, bicarb takes the smell out of the fridge as well
no baby at home, so everything goes under the sink...where is a baby room when you need one?
Our landlord is selling the house so we might be moving... so I'm extra motivated this Spring!
well done jera
My baby is 4 1/2 but we all love our baby wipes... nuff said.
I figure if we end up staying, hey, the house is clean!
Im going now Happy babbling all catch you tomorrow Bye
Bye Caitlin. Have a good evening.
Our trashcan is under the sink, not much room for storage there... extra sponges & unopened soap & shampoo, mostly
me too! Happy cleaning and babbling.
Bye, caitlyn!
jera, i might be having a thick sess but what is Imbolc
Someone's at the door again!! I will talk to you all later!
Bye Misstearweus have a good day.
imbolc/groundhog day in the US ancient festival of the end of winter/beginning of spring
right i'm off out, will be back later to see if anyone needs any help, keep babbling, see you later
Stidmama, here in Canada we say that Groundhog Day (Feb) is when the groundhog comes out of his burrow to see if he can see his shadow, and if not back he goes--Spring delayed another month
---never heard the term "imbolc" though. Does it have a meaning? Or is it like some of these Babble clues?
imbolc is a celtic term used by many modern pagans. it occurs on groundhog day, feb 2
*blush* can't believe i just did that *bad mama* *headbang*
Hi all -- Imbolc is one of the days celebrating the turn of the year in most pagan calendars -- it is traditionally celebrated on Feb 1 and is typically dedicated to the Goddess Brigid :)
woulf! where were you yesterday? we celebrate the new year in our family at samhain/halloween....
This pagan education moment brought to you by Breaktime at work -- courtesy of Woulf, traditional guide and teacher in the Native American faith system ;)
stidmama -- yesterday was waaayyy too big for me to consider attempting so I spent the day with my daughter :) I got her her first tricycle last night!
first tricycle! my, how big she's grown! were you having a proud papa kind of day? :-)
And who says cartoons don't teach safe bahaviour patterns -- she absolutely DEMANDED that I buy her a helmet to wear as well!
Hello Hetty. How long have you lived on SSI. I was born there
Yes I was stidmama-- she was very well behaved the whole time, though she had to try EVERY trike and car in Toys R Us before we found the one she liked
good for her! our elder son has brain damage from birth trauma -- we insist on helmets for almost everything...
OK, my time is done here -- I stopped by to find 50 words and then return to my mundane chaotic job :\ But I had to put in my two cents re: Imbolc since Jera was called away :) I'll be back later tonight.... after Kristianna is done riding her trike! ;D (*Hugs to all*) and farewell!!
Hi, Galliwag. Been an islander since retiring from U Vic in 1989. Of our 48 years in Canada, the island is the place we have lived longest (and most happily, for many reasons.) When you come back you must visit us.
I lived there for 25 years. I still have lots of family there
later, Woulf!
I'm finished. Bells and whistles. Perhaps now I should consider cleaning my house. What say?
YAY Merk!
yay, pro babbler merk!
I might be here tomorrow, but unlikely for days and days after that. I'll miss it and you. Thanks for all the help. ttyl
later, Merk -- see you around!
Well, I'm back..... Sorry I was gone longer than I anticipated, but I had a couple of DVD's to watch..... Anyway, what did I miss, conversation-wise?
talk about cleaning the house, mostly -- i stayed out of it, not my forte! LOL
Stidmama - not the most engrossing of topics, then....
well, gross if you're describing our house! what DVDs were you watching?
is there a 9 letter word for every puzzle?
Hi, again all. Down to my last word. Need a clue for the So6/21. Then I'll hang and give clues for others.
Darkman 1 & 2...... In case you've never heard of them, they concern a vigilante who hunts down his enemies using masks made of synthetic skin...
no soup, this puzzle, for example has only a few 7 letter words (6) and the rest have fewer letters.
Stidmama - there's only 4 7 letter words today....
sounds pretty noiresque... horror-type. no pretty flowers or fluffy bunnies, then? :-)
The so 6 starts like the bitter word with an extra vowel after the first 3 letters and a vowel at the end
movieman, glad you're more awake than I am -- the benadryl i took for my allergies must have started working... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The so6 is a large South American tree
I am new to this, what does So6/21 mean?
Thanks, ARB! Got it on the first monkey type after your clue (so many vowels, so few fingers, you know).
There is a 6 letter word with a total value of 21 points that begins with so
so6/21 means the first two letters are s+o, it has 6 letters and is worth 21 points.....
I just got some good news about Babble. I e mailed Jamie with a couple of suggestions and he told me that he is going to be adding scroll bars to both the chat log and word list soon.
It's a good idea to check out the Babble Rules link
Woot!! Finished!! (With extra help from me mum, thanks Jaianniah!) Today's puzzle: the words are ei6 really obvious or really obscure...
congrats, knutmeg!
YAY knutmeg! ***Liv*** because we know she helped, too!
anyone have a clue for the fl6? saw one earlier but did not get it...
i'm at 19 words now, need to take a break and do some paperwork. BBL {{{all}}}
bye stidmama!
Yes, she did help. She slept enough for me to type with two hands for the whole puzzle. :-) (Currently napping in her bouncy chair next to her dad)
fl6/27 - f + lo5
fl6/21 - take the first four letters of what caused Noah to build the ark, then add two vowels on the end.
bye stidmama!
The fe 6/21 sounds like someone sick with Asian ---, but totally mispelled and very upset about being sick!!
wow - two for the price of one : D thanks vi and haz!
now how would a person know there is a 6 letter word in this puzzle that starts with so?
Good one, ARB! :D
TeeHee
soup: they would click on angelsong's babble page under the friends of babble list at the right of the page
or on lickety's babble clues
i have fo, sw, and th 7's - can someone please tell me that last 7?
There's an sh7/32.
sh 7
Any cluez for the fo7 & the th7 plz.....
Ignore the fo7, just got it....
fo 7 is the comparative of the preceding word
fo 7- like fo 4/7, but more so
th7 is pl of th5
ty - movieman: build on the fo 4/7 and the th5/12
Howdy! I'm back from class and ready to get started! *dives in*
can anyone help with em 6/24? thanks!
the th plural is a Latinized plural
*splashes deutsch*
Temple - sorry to sound a bit dense, but what is the th5/12?
*wipes water from face* Hi Temple!
em 6 = the previous em 4 + 2/3 of the number of fingers you have
There is no th5/12 only th5/14's
It's not a th 5/12 but a th 5/14
thanks ARB!
Anyone clue me up with the 2nd o word apart from the ot5/12.....
movieman, it's probably a word you 'left out"
Thanx stidmama.... I had a feeling that was in there, but I just didn't see it..... *SLAP! SLAP! SLAP!*...... And one for luck...... *SLAP!!!!!!!!*
No hitting, children
hi everyone!
Hi, stidgrant!!!!!!
Hi stidgrant!
hi sweetie! it's a smaller puzzle, so words may be harder to find than yesterday. go ahead and ask for help if you need it.
afternoon all!! :D
OK then, stidmama..... What on Earth is the u from the bottom row, plz.....
Warm greetings to you, evan.....
that's one of the ones i'm still missing, movieman...
Hi evanadine!
dont call me sweetie mom!
evanadine? where? *looks about*
Hooray!!!!! The mother/son partnership is back!!!!!
i know, ive been a ghost lately!!
just checking to see if you were paying attention, grant... :-)
She's wiley, stidmama.
sure is -- at least on sudoku it shows who-all's playing... here, we have to guess. oh well -- all part of the fun!
Remember, everyone, just because a Babble has less than 200 words, it don't make it easy!!!!!!
thats me finished : )
YAY sha!
OK, Sha, maybe you can assist me with the bottom row u.....
woot for sha!
nice icon sha
Oh, and congrats by the way.....
thanx stidgrant
still pondering -- "2/3 of the number of fingers you have"
wiley? me?? NAH!
I just sighned in; hi dear everyone. Does Anj ever come around these here parts anymore? Could he be bored with babble?
hu 6/27? i'm tortured
Hi mab! I haven't seen Anj in a while.
anj was around at least late last week... haven't seen him the last couple days, though.
pthomp - not to make any assumptions about your fingers, if you were to write out the word for the standard number of human fingers, and take two thirds of the word...
hu is a latin plural for a bone in the arm
hu6 - pl of bones of upper arms
ur-5-u =u=r the vowel to the left then the 2 vowels above
Thanx, sha.....
yes, thanks sha -- that's an obscure one!
yw havent a clue wot it means lol
Obscure is right, stidmama, I bet it's not even in the OED....
Well of course, evanadine, you're all blissed out now from meditating on your icon.
vicuña - got it but laughing at the mathmatical possibilities and how to type them in :-}
thanks all! torture over
heh, it made me happy when i found it this morning
*still lost on the fingers clue*
phew...done....is it bad that babble is more important than work?
Yeah, and typing them in would be all the hard with only two thrids of your fingers! ;)
evanadine, unless you had an accident with a knife, you should still have ten fingers...
Depends on your work, Mr Trickle.
I'm down to 44 words, but I reckon I'm gonna have to resort to lickety & enable to complete this one....
*sits down next to evan waiting for enlightenment*
evanadine....letter-wise, not number-wise....
YAY dicktrickle! isn't babble more important than work? ;-)
bye all :)
i guess im still lost cause i dont have the E4 it builds on...heh
bye sha!
hello? *coming up from the grid for some air* :-P
hi again mikey!
Mikey!!!!!
hi there, stidmama and Deutsch!!! :-)
Mikey, Guten Abend!!!!!
Hi Mikey!
em4 - with Easter just past, think of the "road to Em" where Jesus was sighted, then remove the last letter
ahh, got both of em now!
how many em4's are there? cause that clue sure won't work with the one i have! X /
em4/6 is the one in question
hi, movieman and mab! :-)
three ems
grant? are you okay in there? how many babble words do you have so far?
then ive got the 6, and the 4 that the 6 builds off of...heh
anatomically eight fingers... two thumbs
vicuna - is there a clue or definition for the em4/6....
i have 7 words mom
All thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs...
good for you! when you get to ten, that will be a good number. and you can come in for a game of trivial pursuit...
em4 /6- with Easter just past, think of the "road to Em" where Jesus was sighted, then remove the last letter (means something or other related to large flightless birds)
Never mind, vicuna, just got the em4/6 AND the em6....
okay! sounds great mom!!!!
Good! So is everyone all set, now? :)
Just need one more u, then I've totally "greyed-out" the middle row.... I have the ur4/5, what's the second one....
did you get the two words that are the sound/s a cat makes?
vicuna, I think all my fingers are thumbs today.... LOL
Well, if it's only for today, stidmama, you aren't doing too badly!
help plz with me6,21
Just need one more u, then I've totally "greyed-out" the middle row.... I have the ur4/5, what's the second one....
okay. I have 11 words and I am going to leave for a while. so, laterall!
me6/21 - specialty or forte, derived from French, ends like a comparative
it 6/24 it 5/12 ? anyone?
me too -- trivial pursuit awaits! BBL (hi jeffer)
ur4/5 - chemical in urine, shows up in grids all the time
ur 4/5: ar + first two letters of the world...
it 5/12 what a snake does, minus the beginning
Vicuna - I already have that one....
hiya stidmama
it6/24 - probably means something having to do with repetition, ends with a drink beloved of pirates
wow, Vicuna; urine shows up in grids all the time??? :-o is *that* why the letter tiles/squares are yellow? :-P
sorry, movieman, I got confused because that is the second one. The first is ur5 + ur + whole slew of vowels
good afternoon everyone!
Mikey LOL
Nein, Mikey, not the urine, but the ur4/5 chemical therein.
And I have no idea what color that is!
Hi Nat!
ty vicuna and abe good clues
looks like a hard grid today, how goes it?
hiya nat
Vicuna - has that ur5 got a definition....?
Hello, Nat. Jump in, the water's fine!
Not under the little question mark, movieman.
mo 6/21?
Bugger!!! It's gonna take me ages to monkey-type that one, then....
mo6 - more mo4
nevermind, i'm a dodo
Hi Everyone, need just 2 clues to complete the grid...AM/ 512 and AR/ 624. Thanks in advance for saving what sanity I have left today.........
Not really, movie. It starts from the bottom u, and you haven't really got that many choices. And every vowel is different.
ok, i have three left: re 5/12, lo 5/10 and sw 5/20. i'm at work for 20 more minutes. will exhange hints happily!
am5/12 - variant spelling of am4 following it
If it starts from the bottom u, then I already have that one, vicuna, I'm talking about the second u from the middle row....
Hi nancy!
ar6/24 - apparently some kind of fabric I've never heard of. Sounds like what knights wore, ending like the end of a n ounce of prevention is worth a pound of c---
Oh movieman, I'm making a botch of this whole clue business. The last is ut5, pl of where babies are formed.
Thanx, vicuna.... At last......
Happy dance! i am finished! thanks to all for wonderful clues!
Sorry for the runaround, movieman! In my defense, I am currently being run around by two preschoolers...
Yea for abe!
Then that's a pretty valid excuse, vicuna....
the third re 5/12 please? and lo 5/10 too ?
jeffer - lo5/10=British slang for a toilet+ie....
lo 5/10 sounds like the sixties hit song "L****, L****- lots of vowels
YAY abe79!
movieman, i knew for sure that was not a word! thanks thanks abe
jeffer - re5/12=re+the ***ple of Doom....
again thanks movieman
Vicuna, you are the best. Got both of them, great clues. Hi Deutsch...........I am finished and can now stop drooling at the mouth.....
yw, jeffer.....
YAY Nancy!
Is everyone in a better mood than when I was here earlier? People were all snippy. It was scary. :o)
Ohh, Nancy, it's nice to be the best! Congrats to all recent finishers!
I think it's the weather. Also. I am tired.
nancy - I used to drool at the mouth. In fact, I drooled in a lot of places. But then they changed my medication and now Im fine. Most of the time I think Im a sealion, but Im fine. LOL! Hi all!
dachef!
oh, hi HollyBug; don't believe we've met yet, have we? people were snippy, here? :-o wow.....glad i either wasn't here yet, or had my nose in the grid, then! :-/
people were snippy? Snippy? Thats what we used to call the hairdresser.....
Hehe. People were. It was totally out of the ordinary. And no we've not. I'm... Holly. Hehe. How are you?
Holly Bug, since I got on a couple hours ago, we've been pretty nice to each other... :-)
Hi Dachef.......very funny but all too true...I love sea lions, they are so comical and seem to enjoy life to the fullest.........barking away for fish and attention. Do you like fish per chance?
well hi, Holly....i'm Michael, aka 'Mikey' of course :-) and i'm not too bad, thanks.....and how about you?
Nancy - Im not averse to being slapped around the head with one, especially when the last word I find is something like 'line' or 'milk'. Wasnt Snippy the bush kangaroo? Oh no, that was Skippy...
Exhausted. I've been up since 4am. hehe. Long long day.
does the first fo 6 have the cross letter in it?
i am down to 7 words, and trying to find them without hand-holding too much... :-) *i think i can i think i can i think i can*
good day all, best of luck finishing the grid
Well, that's it..... I'm down to 31 words, I've hit the proverbial brick wall, so I'm using "The List".....
movieman, you got further than I did before the list (but i claim the handicap of allergies that needed extra medicine today!)
Sorry Temple, just read your post!!! How the devil are you babe?!?!?
later, abe!
Be back soon, gotta watch the Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final.....
later, mm!
go quickly movieman, you've already missed a goal
movieman - its 1-0 at the mo. Always have your computer where you can see the tv....!
atalante!
hi kids.
hello everyone! movie- im watching the match too!
hey :):)
hi
hey bex!!
hi carra
i am well stuffed from the easter festivities! : )
hello stid
me too. Was really good and ate salad all weekend, then ruined it by eating six Creme Eggs on Monday. Oh well, back to the gym...
bye movieman! hi bex, ata, boreetos, carra!
The Chinese Preident Hu Jintao is visiting today. I'm right next to Boeing, so there's protestors and whatnot out front.
fo 6/30 please?
hi 72 temple
im at 21 words hah
use mi4/5
fo + one of the mi4/5's. Problee some kind of rock. Or a person who really really likes fo's.
go carra!
dachef, long time no see, great clue just now by the way. I like fo's a lot.
second sw5,20 and sw7,48 please pretty please
Yeh - Boreetos, I have a coupla Chinese friends who live in the UK, and they always go to any protest they can - its because its illegal to protest in China, so they take the chance to say what they really feel when they can!
ty on the fo... i was trying to go diagonally!
fl 6/27?
boreetos -- i am glad i am not in Seattle today! I have the feeling that it would be very hard to get around!
as well they should. dachef, as well they should.
yeah they close a lot of stuff for the motorcade.
my last h -- he 6/27? please and ty
dont have all the s's yet, but do you have the one that is lots of bees? Also a really "so-crap-its-good" b-movie from the fifties!
and the sw 7 is the person who does sw 5...
I heart So crappy they're good B movies!!
Hi everyone!I have the h 6/27=he+symbol for gold+first person pronoun I don't have the H 6/24
thanks kateq i didn't have that one. :)
thanks Kateq! the 6/42 is is a latin plural of the previous he 5, need more help on this, just ask
okay, I thought I had all the ms last night, but am missing the first me 4/6 -- definition?
Hi everyone! Between the holiday and being swamped at work, this is the first time I've Babbled in days!! :)
BUGZY!!!
fl 6 and hu 6 please?
stidmama- I think French cats say me 4/6
squeezy hugs for boreetos :) {{{boreetos}}}
yes, bat cat, but that's the 4/9 after the 4/6 i need...
:) *beems*
Hi James!
bleu: hu 6 is the latin plural of an arm bone
stid--4/9 is what American cats say; 4/6 is what French cats say
the me 4/6 is a variant of the me 4/9
fl6 - f + lo5/10
clue for the ar6,24 please? my brain is soooo dead today!
oh -- ty, i haven't learned that dialect of cat-speak yet!
badcat, that'sa pretty awesome/hilarious clue. I wasn't aware that french cats had accents.
atalante, you can't use that excuse, i've already patented it! :-)
but but but but - its true!!
ar 6: ar + mu 4
four words left, but need to get to the trivial pursuit game... BRB
thank you! I cant think how long that would have taken to monkey type!
bye stidmama!
Sometimes the Italian cats represent with a mi 4/5 that's not in today's grid.
while we're on the a6, how about ae6/21? *fish ready just in case*
good to know. :)
and what do French pigs go? or say? *giggle*
badcat, what part of the US are you representing with your trilingual feline mystique?
i don't know, but there is a french babydoll that does pi pi!
a6 = a+ e5/12
Atalante - oinque? ;)
Bugzy--a + et 5/12
French wild boars say "groink"
lol bugzy...
TY Kateq and badcat :) Darn those ae's...
pretty much bugzy ... I cant remember how its spelt oops but its pronounced wank wank LOL
I'm an American cat in the DC area.
it 6?
Bugz, the "ae"21 is the same as the gas you already have beginning with "e"-- the way the GHreeks spell it
As long as they find all those truffles, they can say whatever they want LOL
right on, so not technically in the US? That whole District O' Columbia thing? Don't they grow cocaine in Columbia? Are you growing cocaine?
TY hetty :) *anxiously awaiting it6 clue as it's her last word*
DC-area meaning I work in DC, live in Maryland, and Babble from all over
same here bugzy!
neat. Say hi to the 1st Mariner stadium for me next time you pass it.
Hi everyone, how is the grid today?
it6 - it + 2nd vowel, plus drink like Bacardi.
hi katie, seems friendly enough.
need it 6. almost done here.

the grid WAS friendly. Now its frustrating. Down to 20 words without the list, and my mouse keep hovering over the BabAnon link. I swear its moving there on its own accord....
TYVM Dachef :) That's me done. Hi Katie - some tricky 6's but a pretty nice one today

My Easter was...... not so good.... except for singing in church in the morning, which I LOVE!!!! I came home, made deviled eggs to take by MIL for dinner, did some laundry.... laid down for 1/2 hour, got up, went to bathroom and got dizzy and fell in the tub sideways. I had to stay home :( How was yours, Temple?
clue for HU 6/27 please???
has anyone find a Nine-letters word yet?
hu 6: latin plural of an arm bone; sounds like something funny
I must get outside now and enjoy this gorgeous weather today... See everyone soon :)
Kurosaki - no 9's today! 4 7's is the biggest.
kurosaki, no 9 or 8 letter words today. there are four 7 letter words
Bugzy, you beat me to it yet again. Sorry I'm so slow, stid, either because of the distance from the frozen north or (more likely) my arthritic old fingers. Well done and see you tomorrow,LOL
have a good nite, Bugzy!
bye bugzy! thanks again!
bye Bugzy - see you later
Oh MAMA! Are you OK now?
bye bugzy - nice to see you again

hi....back to finish the grid. any clues for the first me4/6?
Hi Angelsong!
me4/6, cat's cry
hi snowy!
he6/27....any clues please?
Angelsong--a couple of hours ago cluegivers were differentiating between English-speaking and French-speaking cats, if that helps (try an alternative spelling for the sound they make. The cats that is, not the clue-givers).
I'm ok Temple. Just a little sore. And no Easter dinner for ME!
I've got the cat's cry. need the other me4/6.
anyone got a clue for the em 6/24? Had to resort to the list for fear of damaging something, but am still stumped!
sorry about your car, Temple :(
Any clue for the fo6/30 please?
Gee, never thought of that. We have to stop ****ing like this.
work is tugging at my sleeve..... try to bbl!
mamabear it can be fixed... it's only $ LOL!
fo6/30 - fo + mi4/5. Someone who really likes fo's.
bye MAMA
Cheers Dachef that finishes me off. Very grateful!
Well, I'm back, people..... What did I miss, conversation-wise....?
Hi movieman
who won, movieman?
dachef..e+ a 4 letter word for silent starting with m with an extra vowel as the 2nd letter
Atalante - Arsenal did, 1-0.... But I think the 2nd leg in Spain will be quite tricky....
hi Atalante!
Dachet, em6/24 is a real dilly. Try monkeying with the upside down "n", the cross letter, and two of the most visible vowels in the grid either side of it
thanks Cath - I think that is definately a non-monkey-typing word!!!
sorry. Hetty - I posted that at the same time! I would've been monkeying til Christmas. As the gorilla said to the actress.
movieman - I caught part of that game and it looked like arsenal was having their way, just couldn't finish. was it that way the entire match?
So, what has been happening in my absence...?
OOOHHH Spellit -that was a very modest finish!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
Probably, dl88, although I only caught the last 5 minutes of the first half and the whole of the 2nd...
Hi! I'm done!!! Anyone need clues?
movieman - dunno bout everyone else, but while you were away I made a cup of coffee. O, and quit quit smoking again.
7 to go. Hint for fo7?
Nothing wrong with monkeying--any time or for any length thereof. And Cath's clue was way more helpful anyway. What I love about clue-giving is the fun we have --gamesmanship and all that.
congrats jaianniah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
kraus - fo7=even more fo4/7.....
Dachef - I had a glass of wine & didn't stop smoking!!
6/27 + r

well done jaianniah ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*F*I*R *E*W*O*R*K*S^*^**^^^^*^*^*
dachef - that's it!
Dachef - it's the Latin plural.....(ends with the 9th letter).....
Dachef Tis!!!!! Just lop off the last 3 letters and replace them with an I
Dachef--it's the Latin plural of that bone
I'ts spelled humerus- so plural in latin would drop ending and add "I"
dachef..take the 1st 3 letters of the said armbone...its the plural of it (i keep want to use femur but that isnt even there)
Got it. Now I feel silly. LOL all!
100 words to go!

sorry- that's ur+ a lot of vowels I think I've done enough....LOL
bye scatty
Bye scatty - have a good evening.
Haz - no, I've not been on for long at all. Not going to have time to finish tonight either :(
Ah well - just get as many as you can. I always like the initial rush of words, but not so happy with the slowing down....
Hello everyone, a clue for the ae?
Yeah, I generally do the initial load of words before I go and see what the total is. I always think I'm doing well until I find that out!
Bye Scatty thanks for your help Haz thank you so much for your help too...i have just finished.....its been a bit of a struggle today !
Isn't it funny, I always look at the stats first. A couple of mornings I've had to rub my eyes in disbelief!
Oh well done, Mo. Yes, I thought it was quite a tricky grid today.
any clues for re6/18 the last one and re5/10 also the last one pleeeeeeease :)

Thanx everyone I just need the final re6/18
me6/21 please?
me6/21 is French for profession. It can be formed by adding a layer of wedding cake
Thanks I'm finished, just going to force fuggles to come out of his cage then will be back if people want clues.
TY HAZ -knew I'd kick myself!!
me+ a part of a wedding cake
congrats katie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The final re6/18 - add what a bad workman blames when things go wrong
katie ...who is fuggles?
No kicking necessary, snowyowl!
fuggles come out wherever you are we want to see you!
first mo4,5?
The first mo4/5 is a backwards rendition of the weaver's lo4/5
Fuggles is my hamster, for some reason he has got fed up with his ball and won't come out his cage. I have just bribed him with chocolate!! I need to put him in his playpen as I have to tidy up for the cleaner!!
Haz you are so quick with your clues!
Hi Katie give Fuggles a hug from me - not to tight a hug though - love to all - time for bed ;)
thanx Haz, mi6,24?
mi6/24 - differs from maternal parent only in the first vowel.
night Norma -sweet dreams
Good night Norma, sleep well.
Nite Snowy :D
love to fuggles too...
Nite Haz :D Everyone sleep well 'see' you all 2morrow
Mo - giving clues quickly is easier when the grid is finished and I'm not trying to find words at the same time.
good night Norma, sweet dreams
Hi All. New to this, but catching on & loving it. Any clue for ar 6/24? Thanking you in advance...
ar6/24 is a variety of twilled fabric. Put together what your hand is attached to and the ending of Mother Nat***
Haz your brain works quicker than mine...i am still trying to think of clues when you produce an "ace"
Kenny: ar**** sounds like knight's clothes + e
I am now 24 points richer, thanks to all!
hi kenny -welcome to the mad world of babble !!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done, kenny - and you've probably gathered that this is terribly addictive.
Haz...why the 1558 i am sure it isnt the year you were born!!!!LOL
Hello Owl. I am discovering in a hurry how mad BabbleWorld is. Mad in a "homonym for first number + sort of like 'duh' + not empty but..." kind of way.
Not quite - it's my date of birth - 1 /5 /(19) 58.
Thank you, Haz. I have yet to complete a puzzle, but it won't be long!!
I had just worked it out....how slow can i be!!!
anyone with a good clue for hu6/27?
LOL kenny - got it in one! Just wait till you're half way somewhere and you start remembering bits of the grid & find a word! LOL
Kenny - it took me quite a while to finish my first, but the new babblers seem to cotton on extremely quickly! I hope you enjoy it.
hu6/27 - more than one funny bone
hu6 -is a plural of the funny bone
I have done that before snowyowl! One time I even called home so I could write down the letters on the grid! LOL! :)
hello everyone... :)
Great clue, Owl and Haz. Thanks!
Hi Karys!
Karys - good evening!
hi Karys...have a good evening
hi shutter...you're new to me....special hi !!!
LOL Shutterbug!! It's awful isn't it? HI Karys -haven't seen you for ages -been an odd month for me -had very little time to babble
hi Haz and mo...good to see you both :)
I have been here a long time, just hardly ever post! I stopped playing for a long while, then got readdicted!
yw Kenny
shutterbug - how did you wean yourself off?
hi snowy...me too....the Easter thing sort of took over
LOL Haz! There's no cure you know!
Oh, I just sort of forgot about it sometimes, then a few months ago I thought "Hey, remember that babble game?" and I started playing again.
well ....welcome back shutter.....I get bogged down from time to time ..but lurk a lot !!!
Thanks karys.
So it wasn't a major decision you took then - ah well, we continue the hunt for the antidote....
Haz...don't think there is an antidote !!!
I know the feeling Karys -It's beeen just crazy here. Husbands mother had surgery in Feb, had a big Girlguiding event to arrange for April 1st and my son in law flew to India for 7 weeks in March - had all the grandchildren as usual!!!! Mayhem & madness!!!
i dont get chance to forget to play ... my husband says "arent you BABBLING today," i think he wants me out of the way!!!
FORGOT shutterbug!!!???? FORGOT?????? Did you have amnesia!!!!??????? LOL
ohh...dear..snowy...know the feeling...it's all taken up with daughter's wedding here...dresses, shoes, what are the men going to wear ?,,,,and on and on it goes !!!
So I'm doomed - we're all doooooomed (as Frazer used to say in Dad's Army)
Oh, and when I came back tom playing I actually had forgotten I was shutterbug, so I created a new accout. I now remember who I was, so I decided to stick with shutterbug so all my points were together. So, I would have had more points if I had remembered my name. LOL.
Mari is my Mum & got me addicted, I had to buy a computer because I was too busy at work to babble any more :)
you know Haz.... thats about it....the Dads Army chap !!
Karys - I've recently realised that weddings are big business. There used to be 'Bride' magazine, now there are magazines just for the flowers!
My husband is really glad I'm babbling again -I had begun to watch T.V and he only watches football when I'm up here. He was most upset
Snowy, I just got busy and eventually forgot to check the grid each day. Now I always look at it if at all possible.
Goodness....shutter....you and I seem to be about on the same wave length....I can forget who I am !!!
Haz...this is supposed to be a very 'laid back'affair ????!!!
Well, I just forgot my username after not playing for so long!
snowy...got rid of mine ...to bed...early start tomorrow !!
Oh Karys - how lovely -a wedding! My advice is smile and say yes a lot - unless its something they want you to pay for! LOL It was the only way I got to our two weddings sane!
Laid back sounds good! (it also sounds easier on the pocket) I have two daughters so I dread weddings getting any more expensive. It's bad enough putting them through university.
I've been a bridesmaid so many times I was thinking of taking it up as a living. My only advice is that the hairdresser will always take hours more than you think!
snowy....think that's about what I am doing...appart from making the bridesmard dresses....after that it's all 'do as you like ' !!
My daughters wedding was very laid back -a lovely day altogether -my hairdresser says that she was the most relaxed bride she had ever seen -and that my daughter in law was the most fraught!
katie...it's in Florida...just hoping they have more experience when shove comes to push !"!!
You are clever Karys -wish i could sew well. I hadn't sat at a sewing machine for about 20 years when my daughter asked me to make her an evening dress! LOL Just manged it -wearable if you don't look too close!
I just have a small problem in the fact that my daughter has asked me to give her away....and I'm a bit of a 'put me at the back person'
must toddle off now...the old eyes and brain are a bit strained....goodnight all see you tomorrow all being well!!!
Bachs flower rescue remedy, a large gin & tonic and a BIG Smile Karys - Feel proud that she asked & quake in the loo afterwards!
It's lovely that she has asked you to do that, but I can understand how daunting it would be.
night mo -sweet dreams
not clever really Snowy...dresses not so bad...but a bit disappointed when it came to the finishingoff !!
ni nite mo :) xx
And I should go now too. It has been good chatting with you all again. See you soon!
think that remedy may just suit me snowy !!
nite Haz -sweet dreams
ni nite Haz :) xx
You guys are all going to bed, and here it is still only 6:30!
what you done to all our overseas friends then snowy ?
aaah you still here then shutter :)
It will work Karys -honestly -would have to be vodka for me tho'. Just the one tho'. The rescue remedy is good. I use it a lot as I seem to be getting loads of palpitations for no good reason at the moment. My pulse was 107 at one point yeaterday!
think I will need more than just the 'one'....would really like her to ask Roger to give her away
Yup, I am still here.
LOL Shutter - I could do with a few extra hours! Care to send a few?
Well, you could come to the USA!
I'm off too. Fuggles is back in his cage and I have a breakfast seminar in the morning (in about 7 1/2 hours actually), I mean who thought they were a good idea? see you all tomorrow.
Perhaps you could ask her to ask him to give a speech or do a reading of some sort.
Hi everyone! Anyone know any clues for sw7 and th7? Thanks!
Yes please shutter! nifht Katie -sweet dreams
snowy, it wouldnt take you too long to get here would it? LOL!
sw 7 -- one who sw 5's (if you are a bee)
snowy...thats a good idea..... I hadn't thought of that !!
th7 add the latin ending to th5/14 above it sw7 more sw5( what bees do)
Ah thanks Aknitter...you always come through.
JeeWhiz; 'sw7,48' = 'one who does the previous word' and.....'th7,36' = 'a plural of the preceding word' :-)
shutter...the wedding is in Florida
just finished up -- guess I can leave work now, since I stayed to complete the grid.
Thanks Mikey and Snowy, I will have to work on that one...I appreciate your help.
Hi Mikey :)
you're very welcome, JeeWhiz :-) just glad i didn't copy/paste the wrong part or otherwise mess anything up in trying to help this time :-/ i'm good at that, it seems! :-(
and pbr :)
hi, Karys! :-)
no shutter - must go to check if my lottery no.s came up! LOL I had 5 grandchildren,2 weddings, a university graduation and a huge christening in 3 and a half years. As my husband is retired due to ill health the coffers are somewhat depleted!
Hey, some of my aunts live in Florida, but not me! I am in New Jersey.
Hi Mikey Congrats pbr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
Hi, all. Might i get a clue for the mu 5/14 that's neither an auk nor quieter?
that's a shame shutter...could have come to the wedding !!
I have a wedding to attend in about 2 weeks.
mu5/14 more mu4/5
dcseain....you could ask...and I could help..but I don't know how !!
dcseain.....if it's the second 'mu5,14' you're after, then it's like the one before, only change the last letter to the next in alphabetical order of it's type ;-)
sorry; its type :-P punctuation suffers at this hour :-/
this wedding is on May 9th shutter !
The wedding I am going to is on may 6th. But, it is in New Jersey anyway.
Thanks, Mikey. Turns out it was the 1st one i needed.
mu5....both start the same just end differently
sorry dc -wasn't concentrating!
thats no good then shutter !!
I have music lessons on May 9th anyway.
oh i'm sorry, dcseain; do you have it now then?
lessons for what shutter ?
all good, snowy, t'is quite late there after all.
sure do, Mikey. ur clue led me to try earlier of type.
Violin and piano
hi
oh good, dcseain; glad i was of some help, anyhow! :-P lol
daughter did cello and clarinet....so no help here !!!
hi there su :)
My sis plays cello
i teach violin, cello, viola, and piano
years ago now tho' shutter
I also play recorder, organ, sax and handbells. I gotta go now. Maybe I will be back later.
goodness...small world dcs
ni nite then shutter...nice to meet you :) x
hi su! I wish I could play an instrument -daughter plays recorder, piano & violin & is teaching herself cello at the moment -she has borrowed a friends cello & is really enjoyiong herself
by shutter -nice to meet you
snowy.....I would love to have played piano
& me Karys - I always think its a bit like my fat dream -I always hope to wake up in the morning 9 stone & able to play the piano -Think I could die happy then! LOL
nice, dcseain.....i'm rather musical myself, being a vocalist; and i play a little piano and guitar.....just enough to accompany myself a bit! :-)
and i dance to music as well :-)
WOW...Snowy...we have the same dream !!!!!!
LOL Karys - twin souls!
Mikey....you just way above us !!!.....but we still love you x
absolutley snowy....what you doing May 9th ????
i must off to borrow a doublet for the play. it's useful to have friends who are medievelists
and hose dcs ?
ok; i only have 1 word left to find, which i've skipped and left til i finished the rest of the grid, 'cos i'm sooooo stuck on it.....ready to tear *all* my hair out here i'm so frustrated trying to get this one; so, if anyone had a clue please, for the third 'sh5,12', i'd really appreciate it! :-)
Hi all. I finished a while ago but am back to lurk and offer clues as needed. I told BGL I would be around later if she needed me. Gonna watch some t.v. and read the newspaper but I'm here if you need me. BTW I play piano and sing.
I'll be thinking of you giving your daughter away Karys! LOL dc -how many times in your life will you make an exit like that!
Mikey it is a Hebrew word for Hell.
oddly, no. costume is doublet, tunic, blue jeans and athletic shoes.
i'm hoping a doublet will be no harder to play a violin in than a tuxedo.
huh, Karys??? 'way above' you? what's that supposed to mean? :-/ i'd say just the opposite, actually; i'm a lot slower and have far more problems with these grids than most of you do!!! :-P
oh dear dcs...'phillistines' or what ?
Mikey sh 5/12 is hebrew for hell use the sh footwear ( reverse the vowels)and add a consonant
Mikey - look up for that sh word even though technically it is down<G>
oh thank you, musicmom; i thought i'd tried that though, but i'll try it again!
aaahh no Mikey....I actually live here...you don't !!
a wacky co-production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona by the Greenbelt Arts Center in GReenbelt, MD and Three Left Feet, a Baltimore dance troupe.
It's painting an interesting picture dc!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't forget to post a pic!
weell then I suppose that says it all dsc !!....good luck
why thank you, musicmom; i owe my finally completing this grid to your kind assistance.....very grateful! :-) hehe!
ty. g'night, all!
Twas nothing Mikey.
huh, Karys? what are you talking about? :-/
nite dc congrats Mikey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
best of everything dcs !!...:) x
sounds interesting, dcseain! :-) what's it called?
just you are there...and know so much more than I do Mikey !!
thank you, snowyowl :-) a snowy owl, in Wales? :-o
snowy...where about's are you ?
what does where i happen to be have to do with anything, Karys? and what makes you think i know any more than you do, hmm? :-/
The Girlguiding sort Mikey! We're all owls in Brownies!
Bravo Mikey - just realized I didn't say that.
oh yesss, ok; i'm 'with' you now, snowyowl!!! :-D
just because you can sustain a life in another country...and I don't think I could mikey
i hardly deserve a 'bravo', musicmom; couldn't have done it without your help at the very end there.....the one and only time i asked for any clues in this grid! :-P makes a change; i used to pester everyone too much at first!
Karys I live about 20 miles from Swansea & 4 miles from the centre of Llanelli. Right at the end of the M4 ( the end of the world really) LOL
hey, snowyowl.....i've not only *been* to Llanelli, but i can pronounce it, too!!! :-D
Mikey were you here last night when I was begging for about 100 clues to finish. It was pathetic.
beautiful country there, snowyowl.....i really liked Wales :-)
snowy...Roger in Wales next week...Tuesday thro' Thursday...Cardiff, Swansea, etc
Well I'm going to pester now! A clue please for the it6 - I know I will know it but I plead tiredness( was at the swimming pool with 3 under 6s at 9.00 am this morning)
no, musicmom; i'm afraid i was far more pathetic than you were yesterday.....i started the grid, then we decided to start tackling all our spring cleaning.....which meant no way was i going to have time to finish that monster; so after entering about the first 20 words, i deserted it completely! :-/
i+word for a school period (te4/5) put a vowel between the last two letters of the te word.
snowy....last three letters are a spirit...(not gin)
LOL Nothing quite like that double l Mikey - well done -it's cos you speak more than one language! We are near some beautiful landscapes here. I was brought up in Mumbles which is near the Gower coast & now live near the fasntastic Pembrokeshire coast -so can't complain really.
second re4,4?
Does anyone have the ae6?
snowy...were you born in Wales ?
re+cross letter+vowel
it + vowel plus holiday alcoholic drink used in cake
sorry, snowyowl.....Heinrich was talking to me here for a couple mins; ok, 'it6,24' starts with the same 3 letters as the previous word, then ends in a 3 letter liquor :-P but i'm sure you've got it by now, anyhow?
like your ei 6 only with ae at the beginning. or ae+not here but th*** - last letter
yes jee....think of what they used before anesthesia with first vowel
ae6 variant spelling of firdt anaesthetic drug
These words have to be made up.
a + et 5/12
final re6,18? i feel so bad, begging for clues, this grid has not gone well for me
Ty for the it clues all Yes Karys I was born here but have no Welsh blood. I do feel Welsh tho. My maternal grandparents were english and english/swedish and my paternal grandparents were italians -thus I am a short round person with blue eyes!
cdn.....cry again ?
to make over something such as woodwork. (re+a hammer or screwdriver or wrench)
re6,18 to damage cartilage again
re + item used by repairman....don't slap your head too hard LOL
sounds like a wonderful place to be, snowyowl.....and hey; nothing wrong with blue eyes, you know! i have them too :-)
ok...ok...snowy...you don't have to apologise...as just oing to say it's a place we had thought of retiring to !!
Still looking for me5,21
me too mikey !"!
me5/20 is a plural cat call
Sorry, me6,21
Good afternoon, any clues for am5/12?
add another vowel to me5/12
add the second vowel after the cross letter to your 5/12 that is a unit of measure.
me SIX 21 me+ thing a guy wears around his neck + are
grant....more than a yard...plus third vowel in the middle
I'm not complaining! - my father actually had blue eyes too. They were from the north of Italy - and my mother with the swedish blood is very dark with hazel eyes. So so much for stereotypes! Dosn't make me any less short or round tho - which is a pity!
Marc, it sounds like what knights wear.
Marc, if you have the word following it, 'am5,12' would be a homonym of that.....if the following word is pronounced as the personal name
marc the one who provides the weapons.
snowy....gettting there fast !!!....( the short and round bit)
sorry Marc, I was looking at the ar5.
ah yes, snowyowl; you do find a fair number of blonde, blue eyed Italians in the north of Italy, actually :-)
Oops Jee - I did the same thing. Sorry Marc
People are very friendly here -if you want to keep yourself to yourself - you better buy a house in a field tho! LOL My daughter in law thinks the Welsh are a nosy lot and we do like to know ALL about you!! LOL - but we are also very willing to share information!
see.... just look at you mikey !!!.....said you knew much more than I !! :)
lol, snowyowl; and while i'm blue eyed, i'm very dark haired, and have skin that tans well.....and i'm half German, half English.....go figure? :-P
that'll do for me snowy !!
for crying out loud, Karys; what *are* you talking about??? :-P i'm sure you know just as much, just maybe different stuff than i do?
Oh hi Marc ! Haven't seen you for ages - It's really nice to be here and not feeling I should be doing something else!
You can also find a second generation Norwegian-German who is round and blue-eyed in Southern Mississippi!!!!
lol, snowyowl; i guess i'd better stay where i am then! ;-)
sh7 and sw7 - Help pleeze
oh hi, jaianniah; don't think we've 'met' yet, but your knutmeg's mom, i see! :-)
mu5,14s, not the quieter one?
uhm, you're knutmeg's mom, that is.....sheesh; what's wrong with me tonight/this morning? :-P too tired; ja, that's it.....time for bed!!!
the one who places the sh5/12
think I just admire your 'singlemindeness' for want of a better word mikey !!
sw7 the one who sw5 before it
re5's?
hmm, Karys? what do you mean by 'singlemindeness'?
add vowels to the mu4/6 ( a different vowel for each 5)
i think i have a very broad, complex, multifaceted and often multiconfusing mind :-P lol
re5 to give a weapon again to have seen someone again
hi, mikey!!!!!!
megaconfusing? ja; i like that term better :-)
mikey...think you saw what you wanted..and went for it...this is what I admire !!
ok; we're off to bed.....night, everyone! :-)
re5 add a two hump consonant to the 4/4 to put something around the man's neck again
good night Mikey
night Mikey sweet dreams
hi there music....is all well with you and yours ? :)

hey chic
hello there chic :)
karys - we not only had Easter but three of the four of us have birthdays. Sarah last Friday, Greg on Easter and me day after tomorrow.
Hi cliff & chic! Congrats cd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!! bye Marc! And I'm finished!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh a birthday cluster!!!! Happy birthday MM for next week!
yay snowy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ty snowy. my hope is to do nothing all day but play here.
? Next Week??? Sorry MM - for Friday!
music....thats just silly..didn't all those 'Moms' know what they were doing ?......( the best of good wishes to you all) xx
Well since I am one of those moms apparently not. In my defense - we were newlyweds.
Well it's been great for me tonight - I haven't finished a grid for an ae and I almost always used to finish. Have been very busy and had a rotten few weeks health wise. I have decided to ask the doctor to knock me out for Jan & Feb & March next year as I was ill for all those months last year too!
must confess...two sons with just a week apart...29th April and 5th May !!!
we got smarter 6 years later. My other daughter is in June.
yes...I got better too..daughter August 31st
At least Sarah wasn't born on my birthday. She was supposed to be.
but that would have been nice music !!!
to be in labor on my birthday did not sound like my idea of fun. Besides - I would have forever been giving a party instead of getting one<G>
my two are 2 years and 6 days apart & my old neighbours son was born on her birthday. My next door neighbour has a daughter with a Dec 23rd b/day and a grandchild with a Dec 24th Birthday - personally I think that was careless!! LOL
ok music...had not thought it thro' ...you could be right !!
think you may be right there snowy...planning is quite important !!!!
HI, everyone!! I am missing an ar5/12 have the one that sound like what knights wear but different ending
NO doubt. My husband is only 361 days old than his brother. The cool thing about that is my MIL always does a big birthday thing for all of us so I get pampered too. Last Saturday it was grilled steaks for us --she did all the cooking and prep and watched the kids while I did needle work.
peri - just change the last letter to a cross
hi Peri! - ar5 same as the one before but last letter is the crossed consonant
0ooo...music...sounds like you got it sorted !!
musicmom and snowyowl, thanks
only have em4/5, help please for the other em words
well....it's bedtime for me ..........ni nite xx
Yep she grudgingly let me help with the dishes. I felt terrible that she was doing everything. They also had an Easter egg hunt and baskets for the kids since it was Easter weekend too.
night karys
my sister in law has 2 daughters oldest born on 31st July & youngest on the 8th July the following year! We always tease her because she is tiny & the 1st one was so big 9lb 70z - she said never again! 2nd on was a caesarian section 9lb 14oz!

We then had church again and a cheese & wine party to follow - lovely day all round!

to give a weapon again is the first one you have the second one the third one add a two hump letter to your 4/4
thanx, music!
Welcome ayz -be warned this game is addictive! If you need anything don't be afraid to ask -really nice people here on the whole. There are two sites you might like to check out here. On the right hand side of this page is a heading Friends of Babble -here you will find Babblers Anonymous and Angelsongs Babble Page listed. Loads of info on both sites. Hope you enjoyyourself & to see you again.

thanks scatty
yum, if you click lickety's babble clues to the right you will get a list like that of first and second letters
need so4/5 - have the bitter one, also need so5/18
yum - the numbers are the number of letters, and then the point value of the word; the two letters are the beginning of a word
yum - he= the letter it starts with 4 = the amount of letters in a word 17 = the score like scrabble. each letter has a number in the corner 4 letter word = add numbers 5 letter words double score 6 letter words triple score, etc
i think teef should be a word. as in, "I ate a bunch of ice cream and now my teef hurt."
sorry distracted by CSI
neat. kk
the other so 4 is what eagles do
yes yum, Lickety's is quite helpful, and a lot of people will use that list after they can't find any more words on their own or with help from the chat

he 6/27: he + abbreviation for element "gold" + first person opject pronoun
Thanks that was another strange one.
what about the ru word?
ru word is a ladie's name from the Bible.
Hey if BGL comes around tell her I'm playing football. <G>
i didnt think that names were included... my eyes hurt from looking at the PC too long
well, the name isn't exactly included, there are some words that are _also_ names....
i dont have mi 6/24 and mo 4/5 and 6/21
mi6 name for female parent change the o to an i
mi 6/24 is like the mo 6/24, just a different first vowel (the round one)
Okay I'm out going to beat Greg at PS2 NFL football.

My last three....te 6/18, ho 5/14, and so5/18. Any ideas?
Found the so 5/18.
Found the ho5/14.
MM~ Did you get my voicemail?
Music Mom went to play football. She told us to tell you.
whats the ho5?
ho5 is a measure of time plus a vowel.
How dare her! :) Oh well...
pssh. i'd be good at this if they were real words! thx tho
lol...was wondering about that so 5/18 :)
For the so5, add the battle word.
thank you!
Okay, but please, if you can, help me with that te6/18. It is hiding!
um...the only te 6/18 I have is a latin plural....
of a type of flower pot??? (terrible at clue giving)
That would be the one....is it a plural of a word on the puzzle?
like te***-cotta, with an e on the end
Thank you Circe!!! You are fabulous!
yes, for me it is the te directly above the 6/18, however I am still missing a t word so I am not positive....
You are obviously a great clue giver!
just tell us the 3rd letter we'll get it
glad you found it...
circe! The flower pot clue did the trick:)
found the fo 6/27
yum... try adding another letter to that to make it "more so" and you will have a 7
i see it now thx. spit spit. choking on hershey kiss paper insert
it helps if you take those off first, yum
90 words without the list... a good start.
first 2 wa4's?
angel, only one i have is between hot and cold.
wa + first person pronoun #2 -- not chilly
Down to 6, but 3 are 7's. th7, sh7. sw7 Help
sw7 - what you might call a bee (builds on sw5)
th -- lots of warm things, Latin plural
sh7 - add a "more so" ending to sh5 (on your bed)
sh 7: one who makes bed linens might be called this
finished once more....
YAY angelsong!
*~*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS ANGEL*~*~*~*~* W H O O T!!!!!
congrats angel!
ar 6/24?
Good evening all!! Stidmama!! -- did you ever leave the grid today?
This is so hard :S
What? I show up and everyone goes quiet?!
hi gw :)
Hi GW :)
(*faerie*) (*Leslie*)
sorry, I was playing a card game on yahoo... Hi Woulf! I actually got back just a little while ago. finished earlier, so no hurry tonight! :-)
of course, now Seb decides to get fussy... :\
i'm just logged in to give clues as I notice they're needed, and to catch up on all the latest news. such as, any word on the job application they handed you (was it only last week?)
GW - I'm deep in the grid trying to finish this little one. After yesterday grid you would think it would be easy.
[[GW and Seb}}
We think he may be teething already
No way GW
well, Matthew teethed early... so I know it does happen!
matthew was 2 months old and had all four incisors!
He is very drooly and massaging his gums helps to calm him down, so he may be faerie
me 6/21?
Well I supose I do know someone whose baby was born with 2 teeth.
me 6/21: "Work or activity for which a person is particularly suited" me + "level" (ti 4)
huh. thanks stid.
How do you know how many words you're supposed to get?
back to your comment re:yesterday vs today, faerie -- i find thast smaller grids just remove the more common words and leave the obscure ones ;D
hi everyone !!!
Gw - aint that the truth...
click on lickety's babble clues link to the right, ahem... um, you know who i'm talking to
hi helen
no, i don't think so -- yesterday's grid was just as hard, but with WAY more words... i mean, really! stew_pan_? everyone I know calls it a "stewpot"
LOL Leslie
helen! how has your day been?
hey stid - fairly productive today (pat's self on back) got sodding & planting done & various chores & went to pool for 2 hours - fun !! how was your day? Leslie !!! nice pic !!!!
blah. I got some sort of allergic reaction late last night -- still haven't figured out to what, so spent most of my day in bed (fortunately the computer's a laptop...) feeling miserable. Hoping tomorrow will be nice so I can go play outside again!
Belated (*Angel*) (*helen*)
what's the theme today - i was going to guess fountains, but i see so many different things & can't think of any one single thing to tie them all together?!?!?
i knew you'd recognize it, yup, fountains
Helen - it's fountains :)
hey grey! stid - sounds like something devilish to put you in bed, but very nice to have a lap top [i just stare at my computer when i'm down for the count - directly across room from bed :( ]
thx - where is your fountain faeri?
i feel dumb asking, but me 4/6? (not the drug)
2 left, i might finish for the first time ever! any hints for sh 4,5 and the 3rd sh 5, 12.
sh 4/5 - sh** butter (two vowels)
don't feel dumb leslie - for a lot of us that was our last word. add french for "or"
hi hursh!
well at least it's an odd one, but i don't do french?
3rd sh 5/12 is hebrew for hell (well, the underworld, really, they didn't have the current concept of heaven and hell)
and hello, hursh!
the theme is supposed to be fountains, but when I finally looked at Babbler's profile after the flip, I read "red" which is tomorrow's thing.
Helen - I have no ideal. Just grabbed one from the internet. *teehee*
well than add not me but y**, leslie hi helen
(*hurshy*)
((GW))
thanks hursh. how're things?
thanks so much, finished for the first time ever, yay! (sleep now... eyes burning)
oh, things are fine
congrats, jylcat!!
that's great jylcat
JYLCAT CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
YAY jylcat!
wtg jyl !!!
BTW - Great job of getting rid of the troll.
there was a troll? ugh.
A clue for wa6,33 pleeze
I am so confused! I don't understand those clues, with all the numbers and stuff, I feel dumb but can anyone help me out??
trolls again? glad i missed that!
waw 6/33: more of wa 4
Rumple.. not colder
hi stacey. he 4/5 means a word that starts with he, is 4 letters and worth 5 points. if you click on the lickety's babble clues to the right, you'll get a full first and second letter list. very helpful.
8:56 Hurshy
Thank you very muchh! :)
well at least it was only a one-post troll
stacey, are you a poet?
no problem. ask if you have questions. it's a friendly bunch :)
thank goodness. I hate that.
re 6/21 please.
Stidmama and BGL thank you, thank you. 3 left, all t's th5,14, second one, th7,36 and th6,24
add the a-**** (that mr. t was on)
shucks I need the 2nd re 4/4 and the re 6/21 following it
those th's all have to do with heat (7 has latin pl ending)
Holy this game is hard. Definately restricted to the smarties.
th7/36 is a latin plural
well, that's just what WE like to call ourselves, stacey. you can call us whatever you like. :)
Staceyy -- try Angelsongs Resource link in the Friends of Babble box -- lots of stuff there to help you feel better about playing :)
First me4/6?
faerie, re 4/4 is re + cross letter + 2nd vowel, don't have the 6
Haha No, I am not a poet... Smarties sounds good to me, I'm very envious of you all haha
hurshy gave a clue at 9:15, bgl
Leslie - thank you :)
Leslie the re 6/21 is re + what comes from your eyes (singular) when you cry.
i have 50 words, how many do i need to complete?
there are 126 words in today's puzzle
thanks faerie
yw :)
Thank you everyone. I finished for the first time. Feel like I should celebrate. Couldn't have done it without all your help. Geneva
yay! congrats rumpelstilskin! (and cute pony!)
YAY rumplestiltskin! (you're truly hooked now!)
OK, Seb is in the bassinet-- Tylenol is wonderful stuff! -- he is not asleep but he is quieting down :)
*~*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS RUMPLE*~*~*~**
poor little guy -- I hope he sleeps well.
It's a Scottish Highland calf, but I agree it is cute. We raise them.
....:\ though I may have spoken too soon...
ar 6/24?
I have to learn not to talk about him til it is a done deal :D
really. it does look like a horse. do you raise anything else?
Leslie that re that I gave you turns out to be the 6/18 sorry. Still looking for the 6/21
Look at our web page, peacocks, geese, Galloway cattle, Highland cattle, and a Scottish Deerhound. http://www.starshi refarm.com
ar 6/24: the thing your hand is attached to + ending of a word meaning older and wiser (mat***)
no problem, i needed both. i think hursh gave a clue, add the a-**** (a la mr. t)
At any rate, Staceyy -- while may seem like smarties to you, the true intelligence that we all share here is the knowledge that we can call upon each other for assistance with any of our difficulties. So don't hesitate to ask for any advice, clues, or whatever -- it is part of why we are here :)
Yayyyy for rumple!!!!! Congrats on a great finish!!
that, and the friendship, and the abundant virtual chocolate! speaking of which... I have some lovely almond macaroons here that are great for dipping in cocoa. Any takers?
lol thanks stid, i kept wanting to put "wrist" in and was like, hmm, aristure is just too many letters
ugh...can anyone help me with the fl 6/27?
ME!!!
Oooh, me! -- sound totally delish!!
oh yes -- and it seems the more I play the more words I recognize without help!
add the lo 5/10 if you have it, circe
hello everyone!!!
I keep seeing samurai in the grid today :)
okay, passes first to LeslieAnn for figuring out obscure clue...
{{{Shorty}}}
Thanks!! I'll just have to take you up on that
i kept seeing "zither" but it's not really there...
fl double vowel... can you guess the rest?
{{{ faerie}}}
hi shorty! I have icons switched off so I didn't see you at first.
hiya shorty
(*shorty*)
TY all! whew...
ok down to five left... fo 6/30?
fo + small arachnid also in the grid...
man i just started i dont know how many I'll get
oh the arachnid is mi 4
shorty, it's possible, but you'll have to work at it... 'course, we're here to help!
yay.... 4.... so 6/21?
so 6/21: a small french piece of money (so*) + white house reporter *** fleisher
how about the last re 6/18 pretty please
definition of so 6/21: "large South American evergreen tree trifoliate leaves and drupes with nutlike seeds used as food and a source of cooking oil"
re + a wrench, hammer etc.
thanks stid, i will work on these last 3 before coming back for help
re 6/18: to work with an implement again...
Any clues for the ut word?
ty Leslie :)
ut word: lots of wombs, latin plural
Leslie did you ever get the other re 6/21 if not I found it.
yup, i did. thanks though.
Thanks - yet another that as soon as I asked, i saw the word! :p
that's the babble way, bgl ;)
that happened to me several times today! weird...
Leslie when playing sports you are on a te 4/5 so it would be re + te4/5
Tomorrow is another day!
all right, i lied, attention span getting shorter and shorter: am 5/12?
am 5/12 sounds like the am 4 right after it, substitute a double vowel for the 'i'
sigh... thought i typed everything. last two: sh 5/12 (didn't get the underworld clue) and re 5/12 (after your behind)
nvm monkeyed the sh
I used babble psychology on myself just now -- I typed up a request for assistance but took another look at the grid before posting it, and there it was!! ;D
Leslie for the re re + what your hand is attached to
huzzah! finished! thanks all.
re 5/12: re + what your hands attach to again...
GW! *brilliant*
YAY LeslieAnn!
finished - didn't even realize I was on my last word!
*~*~*~*CONGRATULATIONS LESLIEANN*~*~*~*~
That's the best finish of all rycaut!! YaYYYY!!!
YAY rycaut!
*~*~*~CONGRATULATIONS RYCAUT*~*~*~
anyone I can help before I go get dinner?
how about the last sh 5/12 please
sh double vowel
Sure haha ae 6,21?
trying to come up with a clue for that - its a weird one - hebrew for abode of the dead...
a e 5/12
ae 6 - a + ei****/or, drop the i
ae6 = a + et5 (the vapor that scientists used to believe filled outer space)
ae also sounds like the stuff they use to put people to sleep for operations a hundred years ago
How about so6/21?
sh 5/12 - opposite of "he" + ** mcdonald (drop the d)
the last sh 5/12 please.
Sh5/12 - female (sh*) + not young (***-d) Best clue I can come up with other than Hebrew land of the dead
stid gave so 6 clue at 9:43
thank you, thank you
Thanks LA :)
th6/24?
And thanks stidmama :)
th6 -- drop the a from the th7
BGL still here? I won!

Clues for mu5/14 and re6/21, anyone?
Staceyy, you are more than welcome -- we look forward to seeing you again :)

more of your silence for the mu5/14
re6/21 - put a sports group together again
Thanks GW
gonna take a break, later all!
Sorry, 2nd mu5/14
tootles, stidmama!
if you have the mu4/6 with the double consonant at the end the next two 5/14 have a vowel ending (different vowels obviously)
Thanks for the help Stidmama!
Bye stid
BGL - yes I got the paperwork. It has been filled out and turned back in.
MM~ did you get my voicemail today? ANd did you find Guiro?

TY musicmom - I must have been typing when you were giving those fabulous clues!!!
no problem.
SO 6/21 (the first one) please oh please?
No, I know I'm close, but I'm tired of looking. I'm heading to bed myself. Talk to you tomorrow. Now that my evening meeting was canceled, I might have time to start on this before 9:00 P.M! (like maybe at work) :) 'Night
good nite bgl
there is only one so 6/21 use the so4/5 (bitter one) as a base. put the first vowel before the last letter, put the 3rd vowel after it.

first mo4/5.please?
he6?
reverse the first lo4/5
OK... the only lo4/5
Sorry Stid -- horses are home and happy. The future is a straight ahead fatten up time!
grey woulf -- which he6?
he 6: he + atomic symbol for gold + first person object pronoun
thanks again, stid
RE 5/12 (the second one)
(((bbnaz))) :-)
re 5/12 #2: re + past tense of getting aquainted word in grid
what the heck...Ty woulfie but what in the world does that mean?!
beats me -- I got it via the 2nd cardinal rule of babble -- reverse everything :)
it6?
I know it was clued but I was looking for other stuff :)
ok gonna call it a night - have a great evening everyone!!!
TYVM Stid! bit of a happy dance starting.......now just need to knock out the he me mo mu LOL

sh5/12 clue from earlier in day --+jewish name for hell sh+2vow+4vow last letter of hel*
GW - em + 2nd vowel + 5th vowel + cross + 2nd vowel
GW use the word immediate above and add the first two letters of GWBush's home state on the end

YAY greywoulf!
bye, faeriekae -- see you tomorrow
Oh there you are Peter.
yay woulfie! bye faeriekae!
oops -- missed it YAY faeriekae!
yall are crazy to finish this i'm workin on 3 hours now and only 65 words found, the rest of the words must be made up and not in any dictionary, because most of the ones i've found from clues don't make any sense at all.
Amen Yumo!!!!!!!!!
many of the words are very obscure, and often obsolete -- all the words are from the Enable dictionary which many online word games use.
congrats GW. don't think I will finish this. I am at a loss of some of the words...and my chimpanzee fingers are getting frustrated!
bbnaz -- if you want help, i am back... what has you flummoxed?
lessee.......just the HE (other than the first two) ME 4,6 (first) ME 6,21 (last one) MI 6,24 oh and some MOs and MUs yikes! but only have 17 to find yeedawgies!
he 4,5 and 5: start with female pronoun and all have to do with the Greek god called "Mercury" by the romans... add one vowel to the 4 for the 5, then use latin plural on that for the 6
the other he 4 is "blood" and we saw it recently
alright, I am back -- now let's see what we can do to help you finish, bb :)
me 4/6 #1 is apparently french cat talk that translates to the next me 4... me + two more vowels
me 6/21: what one does best -- another french word, i think, ends like a comparative ... me + ti 4
if you have the th's, most of them become he's if you lose the t :)
mi 6/24: like the more formal word for mommy, only with an i
night everyone! happy babbling!
good night, TO!
the mu's that don't relate to silence are pretty much all variants of each other -- if you have the 4's then double the consonant -- if you have a 5 reverse the process
G'nite TO and TYVM for all the help Stid and GW
'night, TO!
G'nite Temple!!
Always a pleasure, bb -- so where do you stand on count now?
yw bbnaz -- next?
12.
I guess that I don't have the HE 4,6 as the other clues you gave me filled in my lickety boxes but that one is empty.........
how many words?
he4/6 -- he + personal pronoun
126 today, Owl!
Hi all, I finished todays puzzle earlier but I know that my Aunt Helen is coming on line to play for the first time. She is my favorite Aunt and a wonderful woman. Be nice to her if she gets on the message board. My wife says she's the best part of my family and I think my wife is right.
ae6/21?
hi Marc! will do! wasn't it a much nicer puzzle than yesterday's?
BINGO TYVM GW!
or he4/6 == he5 - a
ae 6/21: ae + definite article + small hook letter
HI HJ. just think of the gas that dentists used and put the a in front
Yes it was. I actually had fun with this without struggling like I usually do.
ME 4,6 (the first one)
nu marc....what was the decision on your brother's retirement party?
:-) at least it's fun even if I don't get them all...
Hey Marc -- long time no see -- Will definitely do my best to make your aunt welcome if she pops up :)
I am entirely too close to give up now- might I get 2 clues from the brain trust? I am missing the 2 mu 5/12's not "more mu 4/6"
Actually, I was just talking about that with my aunt. I said the only ones who I am getting support from are my babble buddies. I haven't yet been invited to speak. I am waiting patiently.
(((renfield))) back to normal yet? well, your "normal" anyway?
marymary - double the consonant in your mu4's
(*ren*) -- back to normal? what happened?
lol stid..yes i am back to being abby normal
Never mind- saw MM's clue from 10:04. Thanks MM!

the last two TE words TE 5,10 TE 6,18
last two te: earth and latin plural
te5 -- land is also called te*** firma te6 - add E

YAY harpjane!
MO 4,5 MO 4,6 MO 6,24 the last three on the MOs
Yayyyyy for harpjane!!!

mo: small speck mo: like a mo** to a flame mo: formal mommy word
RIGHT ON HJ!

W T G Harpjane!!!! *F*I*R*W*O*R*K*S *-----------~~~~~~~~~~~~~>>>>> >>$$$$$
go bbnaz, go!

hahahaha twitching here like crazy............ actually I would be seriously panicky if you were not here!
Thank You!!!! Anyone want random clues?????

ar 6/24: what your elbow lives on + last three letters of word meaning older and wiser (mat***)
cROSS what a cow says with the beginning of "terra"- another clue
fo 6/30: fo + mi 4 (a small archnid, teeny tiny)
donka! Hello everyone BTW (I'm focused, can you tell?)
:-) ((kristinc)) BTW how was your trip?
What a cat says, only with a "you" at the end instead
stid...absolutely wonderful. Weather was perfect, hotel was nice, lots of fun..even got stung by a jellyfish right on the baby belly but that too, worked out.
ar 6/24 cross armor with demure
:-P I don't like jellyfishes....
So many clues- did we miss anyone?
first mi 4/5 and mi 6/24 (I'm cheating, I know...40 to go!)
mi 6/24 and mo 6/24: what you're about to become, one spelled more like the irish might say it... ;-)
