flip!
Hi, knut!
flip
Hello!
I had 32 left to go on yesterday's grid, oh well!
flip! back to studying -- ttfn
oh well...i got really close...only 18 left...<sigh>
so close!
See ya, misseyem - thanks again for the clues! Hi, mark!
Uh, as I said yesterday (apparently) there is no Klingon word for 'flip'
I got down to 20 something left I think, which was good cause I started at 11:15 with 89 left
Knut~ Don't you have some plastic Vulcan ears to put on Liv?
greetings...so what's the damage for today? how many words on this grid? only 8 words? ....ok im done then
only 99 today
Does Klingon even have an "FL" sound? I would think they would bite themselves trying to say a word with FL.
Hmm... 99 words... looks like a tough grid... do I do the puzzle or not? One of Olivia's grandmas (my husband's mom) is back in town for the first time since Olivia was born, and I'll be spending the afternoon/evening with her. Choices, choices...
Knut, you and I are BAD already - that word is in the grid!
what!? what?! We can't say fl** today?!
u in here PW
yeah...zzzzz...lol
f 6.36
20% done...but eyes drooping....
No, no we can't. Not until tomorrow!
Refresh for my StarTrek icon! (love Spot!)
Yay Data and Spot!
No vulcan ears for Liv...yet :-)
mel...i cant hang...lol..
F6/36 x2
MARK - how are you? employed?
c6/30
c6/30
F 6/39
Hey there! Hi there!
i got the fo7/52....but 2 f6/36's?
Ho there, chic
no Joey...i had a job at Microsoft, but they terminated the position....no details
i actually went to the Lockheed-Martin open house today in Arlington... were u there?
sorry to hear that Mark. any prospects?
a6/30
Mark, trade ya hint for the f 6's for the fo! 2nd and end parts of the words: 1st vowel plus 2nd to last consonant, then past-tense 'em!
no, I am not in recruiting, and my mom had surgery today. Wish you luck.
no, not really...just started looking at the beginning of this week...
mel???
fo7 = we fo***** into the woods, past tense of fo5, fo+beam of light
has anyone else typed "frolic?" I really want that to be a word!!!!
sorry arguing w/kids...........not gonna be able to stay online............talk 2u later
got it, ty, mark!
ok
i got the fl6/36...is there a f6/39?
Theres also an Fr6/36 and yes an Fo6/39
Tiger, thanks for the Fo 6/39
do u have a hint for the fo6/39?
Hey Everyone. Mark - what sort of role do you normally work in?
Fo 6/39: past tense of what rumblers do.
so far, i've been typecast as an admin assistant, but i feel that it's time to branch out...im quite creative and a problem-solver...
Hi, lickety! What time is it in Australia - you always come in at my bedtime (actually, wayyyyyyy past it...)
fo 6 39 is the past tense of a word that rhymes with the opposite of left
hey Lickety, did u know my brother-in-law is an Aussie?
r7/48
TY, joey, got it right away, and the ou5 too!
and if you take the "f" from the fo 6 39 you have a word that means you should do something
Hey Clues are done! It's 3:30pm here now. Your brother-in-law Mark - sure - saw him the other day ;-)
lol...he's here in the States...i'd be quite surprised to hear u had seen him!
LOL, lickety, and TY for the clues!
Haven't you both heard how small the world is getting? <wink>
Oh sorry - Just one of those "Australia is such a small place, everyone knows everyone" sarcastic comments. Apologies!
AND, if u follow what Joey just did, there's an a5/18 that rhymes with the o5/18...
mark - ty for that - i missed that one
lickety, I know what you mean. I'm from New Hampshire (upper eastern part of US), now living in Philadelphia. People still ask "Oh, my ______(fill in relationship) lives there, do you know them?" New Hampshire is a small state, but not THAT small!
mark - asked about your role because I like to meet talented technical heads.
corpsvalue - like hard, hard downer in football
JBsAnno - I play alot of Xbox live - and get to chat to people (voice) from all over the world. I love telling them that Australia is a really bad tourist destination and they should never come.
Yep. That's the one. Just letting others know I got it.
JB - where in PHL?
In case anyone needs a clue. : )
Too many people, weather is horrible, lots of deadly insects and snakes.
Chestnut Hill, Joey! lickety, I would love to visit Australia. I read Bill Myer's book about it, so I just have to see it now! But not the outback, I don't want to become a statistic!
what sort of tech head? i did build my computer...is that enuf?
JB I was born and raised about 60 miles north of there. Now I am in Texas.
mark, where are you? Have you been doing admin stuff for a while?
what's the clue for the r7/48?
JBs im in the DFW area here in TX...ive been doing admin work for nearly 10 years...(in May it'll be 10 yrs)
Hey, Joey, I worked in Tennessee with a lady named Carol, from Texas. Do you know her? (hee hee)
You might do this to your opponent in football (past tense).
builds off of r5/18
OMG - Carol is my cousin........ glad you got to meet her 8)
american football? or soccer? (we're such an international community here...)
Well, mark, I'm not recruiting, but you should check out the lively world of being a Residency Program Coordinator in a hospital or at a medical school. I've been a Coordinator since 1998, and I have to tell you, I just LOVE my job!
actually, either sport.
LOL, Joey! I just woke up my cats, who suddenly remembered how hungry they are!
mark - wondering what you did at MS
You can also say you did this on your camping trip when you brought very little comforts with you.
i got the r5/16...looking for the 18
Another clue for the RE would be not smooth.
ro sometimes when there is an assault, the police say that the person was ro..... up
ah HA...the past tense...didn't see that one coming...
sorry mark, i thought you saw my past tense clue earlier. : )
dalmatian, did you mean RO?
Lickety...i could tell u, but then i'd have to kill u...
Sorry, yes I did.
nah, just kidding....i was in billing and contracts...
Oh, good. It's almost 2 o'clock a.m. in the morning for me, and I thought I was on the wrong puzzle!
We would have a lot of people in the states that would expect afro to be a word.
lickety - have you put the link on your site yet?
yeah, and if anyone needs a public relations/communications person, let me know! I'm your man!
rofl is NOT a word? ....but my AIM dictionary lists it.... :(
That's okay, mark. I keep seeing 'heyday'.
i can't believe I fell asleep and completely missed the flip... hi all! thought i'd check out the challenge before turning in for real (since I obviously need to)
TWO AL5, TWO AL 7, one AL6 - any hints?
stidmama...u can't use that fl4 word!!! its in the gr4!!
i was kidding about the AIM dictionary...
i DO seem to be a bit punchy...maybe becuz it's nearly 1am
Stid!! I took a nap earlier to be awake for the fl**, but ended up 32 words short for the previous grid. :(
mark -- oops! hadn't even let the gr4 load before I posted! knutmeg -- you still here? Lickety, thanks for getting the clues up so quick!
found the al6...sounds like a game room, but with an 'L' instead of 'R'
mark - have some more sugar!!! (hee hee)
one AL5 is going to Israel
JB -- I suppose I'd have been in the same place as you, except I stayed up later last night to work on yesterday's...
Yes, but I have one more day to declutter before DH arrives home tonight from his trip to Tennessee.
ok...i guess i do need some sugar, cuz i have no clue about the Israel reference...<shakes head>
Thanks, Mark, for the al word. You just also help me find the fa6/33!
you can do it, JB! buy a lot of big boxes, and start shoving things in them... (grin) that's how I always do it! still going through boxes from before we moved though! LOL
Sorry, incomplete thought... So, why am I still up doing this grid???? I should be in bed!!!! (if I keep talking like this to myself, I just might make it off the computer)
thx corps for pointing that out!
okay JB, this is your final call! the bus to dreamland leaves in five minutes, and the next one takes a detour through nightmare lane...
yw!
stid, I'm way ahead of you! I have boxes from FIVE moves ago, and STILL find it difficult to let it go. If Clean Sweep ever came here, I think they would make me get rid of my slide rule from 6th grade that I never used, and doesn't line up right anyway. But I've had it since 6th grade! How can I part with it?
going to Israel is called "making AL5"
fo5/24 = An exclamation of contempt, disgust, or abhorrence
sorry, thats an FA5/24
rhymes with "doh!"
JB, we are kindred souls, for sure! I still have workbooks from 4th grade (30 years ago)... :-) now sleep friend, and I'll see you tomorrow when you take a break from "declutterings"
Yes, stidmama (underline "mama"!!!), thanks for the motivation!! Marching off to bed. Good night all! (good luck, mark, looking for a new job!)
thx JBs...i just keep on truckin'....
well, i've only got 52 so far, but all the tiles merge into one...think i should head off...
good night, mark! see you tomorrow!
g'nite all... if there's anyone in the DFW area who needs an Admin... just let me know!
anyone have the of 4/9?
joey, of 4 is o plus ladies' name....
or rhymes with "okay"
awesome, chic, thanks
mark, ty also
de nada..
but of course....
yay! im NOT done, but i FINALLY found the vu4/11!! thought i was gonna go nuts...<sigh>
good for you, mark! :-)
that was short and sweet thats me finished im now off to work bye everyone
YAY ruthy! have a fine day!
wtg mark done? Ruthie? you are my hero!!
gj Ruthie! wow...
anyone got clues for al7?
not i...looking for that myself
al 7: like a place lots of games are found in a carnival, only with the r changed out for the l
oops, sorry, that was for the al 6...
thats the 6, but whats the 7?
dunno -- even with the nap my eyes are tired...
al 7 was has the sometimes vowel in the middle the other has the 3rd vowel in the middle.
ok...i will have to find the other 39 later...g'nite all!
of the al 6, sorry I'm tired now...
g'night mark!
tks chic!
Did any call the RO 7/48 before?
do you need a clue for ro?
I'm just surprised it won't take the fish....
no captain kirk, but thanks! I hate it when I have to ro 5 people up for cluse!
no I have it, tx
Ok I need to get flat now... Later, peeps.
woo hoo! I am halfway, that's good enough. time to turn in so I have energy to do real work tomorrow (Grant goes back to school and I really truly don't have to be anywhere tomorrow...) good night all!
nite to you - I am obsessed, I only have 20 to go
good morning, everyone; is it safe to enter, i wonder? :-/ lol
i only have 11 to go, so I guess the answer is yes
lol, joey; i meant 'cos well.....yesterday, i was working on the grid, then went off to run some errands with Heinrich, and left it all here, to return later.....when we got back i had messages from faeriekay on yahoo, telling me she'd been asking where i went to, and smaller told her that she ate me! :-o ja; gobbled me right up!!! :-/ things got a little 'crazy' for a while after that, so you see, i never know if it's safe to 'set foot' in here anymore! :-P lol
Morning dear gang :)
ok, now I get it - i read that - she said if I remember that you looked like chocolate. it is quiet here, it usually is at this time of the day/night
thats me all done bye all goin to school in a mintue it was so easy today
For someone looking like chocolat, it is never safe to enter wherever women are present :)
i agree with that sprite.
bye all
Bye hannah, have a nice day at school.
done, me too, and just in time. i am getting very sleepy. night all and good luck
im done.
hm there should be a ro6 thats a fish (orange..) but the list is out of date
tell me about it! that orange fish was bugging me, kept entering it thinking I'd mistyped
lol.. yeah me too i had to check the scrabble list and it was in there added recently
lol, joey; ja.....but how i could look like chocolate, i'll never know.....white choclolate, maybe? :-P
Do you mean there is a Ro6 or that there isn't?
Morning sprite How goes the day?
well its not a valid word in this puzzle.. kind of surprising though
FMitch: sudoku- and babblewise very good. Company doctor-wise very bad. Some people should be locked up before they hurt more people.
Yippeee!!!! just found the ro7 apart from that, I'm really struggling to find words today!!
Oh dear, still getting greif from the co Dr sprite?
Have all the ALs except two AL7 - more clues?
She is a pain in the butt, really. Last time I told (and written to) her that we wouldn't work with her anymore, and she agreed another doctor would be better. Then she sent me an invitation for a new visit to her, on Saturday, for Tuesday next. I sent back a copy of my previous letter, stating the above, on Monday. Then I received an angry letter that I should have cancelled the appointment two days before the date, so she would charge my employer for the time. And angry letter to my employer, of course. Is she mad, or am I?
there are good clues for the a 6 and 2 x a7 in the log if you read from 1.25 upwards.
BRB phone
Good morning all.
can anyone help with the pi 6, 24?
pi6/24 captain of the starship enterprise, changle last letter
thanks bsg!
Nice clue!
Got bumped off the site and took a while to get back in. Sprite it's def the Dr not you!! Morning Haz
Good morning, FMitch!
Glad to hear you say that, FMitch :) I will keep faith in me then, just asked my employer to assign me to another doctor in the future. Hope he will. :) Hi Haz!
I'm so pleased to see of4/9 - it's one of those memorable babble words!
There are several babble words I have found already and then thought - it's a sign that I have been playing this game too long as they came naturally LOL
good morning, all. Nice easy grid today...I'm done with it, but I do have a question: has anyone else noticed the player rankings have seemingly not updated for the past couple of days, or is it just me?
I know - before starting babble I would have fought to the death in certainty that some of these don't exist!
whats the difference between a babble word and a normal word?
jo-jo- to me a 'normal' word is one that is structured in a recognisable way and may be used in day to day life. A babble word, such as crwth, seems to defy logic.
jo-jo One makes sense and the other doesn't, or one is a word you know and the other is really obscure :)
Angelsong - I don't know how often the rankings are updated normally so I'm not sure how to comment. I know I was punished for not finishing one really long grid!
angel - my stats have changed so I presume it is OK
I hardly ever check the rankings, so I wouldn't know, sorry.
is anyone else finding this grid hard?
thats me finished :)
jo-jo - it seems to be a case of finding a word at a time, there's not a lot of scope for building up on a lot of them.
Congratulations sha - your icon always makes me smile!
thanx haz
ive just found a nice fr6/36 if that helps, past tense of fr4/9
Thanks - and if you take off the f, you have ra5/16
Darn work keeps interupting back in a bit :)
hints for pa 5,16?
pa 5- 5/16 - to do with money - ends in double vowel
thanks haz
thanks haz... just couldnt see that one!
I hadn't seen it until you asked, so you helped me as well!
right, ive got a lesson next so im off x
Bye jo-jo. Have a good day.
good morning everyone!!!
Good morning, bex! Is the sun shining with you?
yes sort of but there are builders around my house putting new guttering up so it is very noisy! how are u? is it sunny?
Where there are builders, there is noise (and dust). I'm fine, the sun IS shining here. I can't stay too long, though, as I have things to do.
so have you finshed the puzzle?
No, I have 50 words so far so am half-way through. The rest will have to be winkled out during the course of the day. There are some nice 'babble' words in there.
LOL @ FMitch! How inconsiderate of your work to hinder your babbling!
I have to leave but hopefully will be back later. Bye all!
Goodness. I know some of you are teachers... but are any of you college/university profs?
I do believe some are.
I need to speak to one... when one becomes available. :o)
I remember people telling about their student, but I don't remember the names, sorry.
It's okay. I have a bit of a rant and then a legitimate question... which can wait for later, I'm certain.
i'm not a college prof...but i play one on tv!
Perhaps I'm just tired, but I'm having trouble getting into this grid. It seems harder than usual... without looking hard.
Hey all.
It's not too hard, but there are a few babble regulars hidden in there. Being tired never helps ;) Perhaps a nice cup of tea or coffee, a ranting bout with a good friend and a little rest will make you feel better? *hug*
Hey Puppy :) From the sudoku to the babble!
Yup yup! Not long before work though, so have to pay attention! =)
finished! Any need any help?
anyone that is... tis early here. :)
WTG rycaut! Still managing, but thanks for the offer :)
Hey, the Z is used! :)
Good morning everyone. 28 left to find and feeling very stuck. Had 28 left last night and couldn't get back into the grid. Thats bee happening a lot for me lately-not being able to load completely, getting bounced, having to refresh over and over. Can;t figure out what the problem is.
well hello grid!! nice to see you are still here sprite!!
That's nasty, Eva. Takes the fun out of playing a bit, I fear. Are you playing with FF? And do you have the latest version?
Always doing a zillion things in between while playing. I must learn to focus one day. Just not today, I think :) How are you doing? Did you get my answer?
I am playing with FF and it worked fine for a long time. I don't have the latest upgrade-and since I have a slow dial up connection it would take a long time, but am thinking of taking my laptop into town to a friend who has highspeed and having him to the dowload and look things over. Although the odd thing is that I'm not having trouble with anything but Babble.
sprite, sure did, and have replied. This grid is tricky in a nice way today!
morning mrp!
I did not have the latest version of FF and I had trouble all the time. Updated and all was well. Perhaps it is worth trying indeed.
I hate always asking him for help, but last time made him a carrot cake in return. They thought we were going to be able to get broadband here this year, but are still having trouble getting a signal. Mountains in the way.
sorry, hello eva just had to grab my dinner
I guess that can be the price for having mountains nearby. You must have great views though! Hope all will be well soon with your system, it is frustrating if it doesn't work like it should.
3 more Hs... it says there are 3 more Hs... all 4s too... so why can't I find them??
Ah... because I always think the first 2 Hs are stupidhead words.
And the last one looks more like a german word than an english one. Done!
thanks for the encouragement Sprite. I've been putting it off, but this is getting too frustrating. Speaking of frustration-any clues for those stupidhead h's?
i'm done for the day. anyone need a clue before i go?
were those the he's? i am missing the last two he's too... any hints?
Yes, they have a double middle vowel that doesn't look english at all.
last two he's one = follow instructions other = a word that would have preceded hitler
2nd last He4: watch out last one: part of the nazi greeting in wwII
just got the hitler one, ... any clues on the last two la's too?
last two la's are both past tense variants of what you do on a bed..."now I *** me down to sleep"
must be the first la i am missing then... sorry
those were the "only" l's that I have?
(((ishult))) long time no see... how are you!! sprite, you have mail!!
any hints for the vu word?
I'm good Mr.P Busy at work, so I tend to come and go, not so much time to chat
can i have a clue for the aa 5/14 please?
bex... sighed!!
thanks mrp!!
cliffopa, not really good clues, I am afraid. It would rhyme with an exclamation of utter disgust, does that help?
perfectly sprite. got it immediately from your clue :)
mrp you no on your clue list where you have the odd spot for the clever facts, well the one about the vowels being in the right order, well "subcontinental is the only word in the english language with all the vowels in reverse order"
bex, it is added to the odd spot! thanks!
Sprite, don't sell yourself short. I got the vu 1st time from your clue, thanks
:) Glad it worked, it's such a strange word.
In case anyone is interested, the vu is a cavity in a lode. And since that doesn't clarify much for me, I looked up lode and that is: 1. a. The metalliferous ore that fills a fissure in a rock formation. b. A vein of mineral ore deposited between clearly demarcated layers of rock. Also called lead. 2. A rich source or supply.
just another word i will never use in coversation. maybe scrabble tho - i love to use strange words when i play that game with my husband. he is quick to challenge words he doesn't know!
sprite, I am on it like lint on a belly button!! will give you an email shortly!!
FM... that is cool (LOL) and on the page!!
mrP, you are the best :D cliffopa: you certainly have an edge over him on this then :) You can matter-of-factly state: well, of course vu, that is a cavity in the filling of a fissure.
ishult-independence day next week.have a good time
GOOD MORNING ALL! Short one today! Hope to finish early. Lots to do. Stidmama, hope your Harley ride was good. Want to do that myself if it doesn't rain today.
i have been doing ok (ish... for me) working backwards, but i have now hit the al's and am completely blind...
are those 2 first 2 ha words 'slang'? do they really mean anything?
is the fo 6/39 related to the other fo's at all?
no... it is what you do when you are angry with someone... past tence
nevermind, i just got it.
*tense...
Sprite, are you ready!!!
thanks for the h clues-had the hitler one but still looking for the other. Disppeared for a while to price noseeum netting for the Blackfly Festival tents. Although it might be thematically consistent to allow people who come to the festival to be eaten alive, netting will slow the bloodletting down a bit.
oh-couldn't find the double vowel one because I already had it. Like looking for your glasses with your glasses on.
Merp is getting impatient. Having eaten and thrown up dead philodendron leaves all over the carpet, he has nothing to do but fret over breakfast. Nope-I mispoke, first he had to eat some dead flies.
Oh, Oh, stuck on 2 O's of4,6 and oo6,18 Help, pleeze
flacid is invalid?>
jup... it is actually a double c! don't have any other clues as to why it is used with one c!
i guess their dictionary can not be called exhaustive.
oh ok thanks
well, the one c version is apparently slang, but I have seen many words in here that are questionable! LOL
just found the word with the z in it. An exclamation.
it's actually speclled flaccid in my dictionary.
NEVERMIND. Got the O's, on to the L's
Good morning all. Short grid today. Eva, when I first logged on all my chat log showed was successive entries from you (most about Merp) -- for a weird moment it looked like you were chatting with yourself :D
SPRITE!! you still with us!?? you have mail!!
rumple - that's a pity - I was looking forward to a hint on the OO
ch- I was----mumbling at that(-:
oo + alternate spelling to WRC driving
BACK-UP, still need the of4.6 Thankx
what's WRC?
WRC = world rally car
of4 derogatory term for a white person
thnx Mr P - I think (not being any sort of motor head)
the only one of those I know starts with ho
rumple -- i didn't know that one either but looked it up on wikipedia :)
Hello everyone, i have been lurking for a while, about a month and i love it here. Having trouble with the aa tonight. I know a clue was given but i could'nt get it, must be a blonde.
aa5/14 - expression of delight or surprise, past tense
one last word....al 5/14
al5/14 - add the start of an alcoholic beverage made from apples
hi this is my first time here. what's an average score? i'm on 267 after 10 or 15 mins.
Get outta here Haz, i thought i tried it all. Thousand thanks.
Going again!
Thanks, Haz. Hadn't spotted that one.
thanks haz - now i'm done! yipeee!
Well done, Cliffopa. I've only been here about 15 mins so still have 38 to find.
cliff gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
bye everyone. time to get ready for work.
Haz, do you have a clue for me on the of4,6 pleeze!!!!
of4/6 - o+ actress Ms. Dunaway or Ms. Wray without the 'e'.
rump, what is the blue thing in your icon with the cute little girl? Welcome, svet
ch1212... it is green??
I keep seeing of4/6. Surely as the f is worth 4, the minimum score would be of4/7 or am I going gaga?
Sorry! It's of4/9.
frances, it is of4/9
MrP. It looks green to me, too.
Thank you. I thought I was really losing it for a mo
frances, I lost it back in november when I started playing this puzzle! Hi JacQ
(that is a little ballon hanging off the end of your name)
mrpresident I guess some might say that it helps
hello?
LOL, MrP. I did wonder. Is it a belated birthday balloon?
sorry kumquat, welcome back, haven't seen you for a little while
nope this is my first time
jsut wondering what an average score looks like
looks blue on my screen, but this monitor is an early version of an LCD and colors flucuate. when I got married a year and a half ago, I ordered what I thought was a "champagne pink" gown --- arrived in gold :D
well then, welcome and there is no average score that I know of... can go look in history if you like!?
todays score is 1233 if that helps!
Mr. P I thought the same thing -- swear I've seen the name before
i've not gone babble pro (yet?) so i have no idea how many words i have left to find
ch1212... same here!
today is 99 words!
grief, i have 28 and thougth i was doing ok
kumquat... go to the babble anon site or lickety's clues (over on the right side of the page) and that has got stats and clues for the puzzle
i don't see that on my screen but i should get going anyway....will be back for sure!
TODAY'S STATS: Total words: 99 4-letter words - 64 5-letter words - 21 6-letter words - 10 7-letter words - 4 A- 15 C - 10 D - 1 E - 3 F - 22 G - 4 H - 7 L - 5 O -5 P - 12 R - 9 T - 3 V - 1 Y - 2
Jac, when did you have your birthday?? I remember Pauls not that long ago, but don't know about yours??
wow. thank you
MrP - Mine was last Saturday (22nd April).
y/w, Kumquat.
I collect Grinches of all sizes and that is my great-grandaughter Ruby beside one of my smaller ones.
well happy bloody birthday!! where was the announcement??
rump... you collect grinches?? WOW!
MrP - I was around on the day. Most birthdays are in the list in BabAnon.
so sorry I missed it Jac!
Thanks Jacula, thought I had monkey typed that one, but guess not.
LOL, MrP. It's okay.
I have one lifesize that I put on the sissy seat on my Harley for parades. Makes quite a hit as my bike is also green, the FXR. The other one is white.
22 Apr - International Earth Day (ch1212) where do the birthday announcements go??
Ahhh - the Grinch! I just moved to our laptop and the colors on this screen are much better. Cute!
mrp the birthdyas are on angel'spage!
MrP - Angelsong's birthday list is in BabAnon in 'Meet & Greet' section.
ah!! going to look now!!
Bex - Hadn't looked on Angels' page lately. You're right.:-)
so, how do I add a birthday, or two!??
babbler lets you request your own theme for your birthday too!
you have to tell angel when she is on and she adds it!
MrP - I guess you put it in BabAnon list for Angel to add to her list.
yikes, have stayed too long. think there must be lots of words that don't exist in my vocabulary judging from lickety's site! must get out of my pj's and meet a friend on the other side of town in 15 minutes!! see you later all.
bye kumquat
'Bye Kumquat. You'll learn lots of new words playing this game.:)
27 words left to find. I might have to get a list soon. I have mending and gardening to do, plus I'm out tonight.
ditto Jac! have work in the morning and must go... I finished hours ago, but love to chat with you guys!!
evening all, late start for me luckily only 99 words tonight =p
Morning/afternoon/evening all Work is done for now (famous last words) and now time for some serious babbling :)
Joining in again for a few more words.
Hey HAz, got yr email LOL!!!!
Good - always happy to make you smile!
How are you finding the grid today Im on a paltry 41 words so far
I'm on 75 - got to about 50 and then resorted to the list.
Oh I don't feel so bad then :)
can anyone help me with the ap 6/24 please?
Oh, the list is the way forward, in my opinion. I was just reading in the paper about John Prescott's exploits. Robin Cook, David Blunkett and now John Prescott. Are these women hypnotised or something?
Haz I think they must be blindfolded
ap6/24 - add the third vowel and the start of a measurement of energy (think diets)
hello, everyone! : )
They say power is very attractive, but I don't know....
We were talking about that in the pub last night - what is it about men with power/in powerful positions. If Prescott was "Mr Smith" on the street would anyone look twice? And lets not mention the LibDems LOL
thanks haz!!! :)
Ah yes, the Lib Dems. The mind boggles at the whole thing.
Hi temple!!
short grid...maybe i'll actually get some work done today - LOL!
hey - ROFL is in the grid!!!!!ROFL!!!!
That's Classic Temple!
oh hi, lickety!
LOL and Hi TO, hadn't seen that. Hola to MrP and Lickety, not often we see you both online together :)
Hey Temple. Any news?
is jacs still here? saw her post earlier...
yeah, there are 'rumours' that we are the same person!! LOL
I don't think so!!!!!
Scary!! I am not that hairy....
FMitch - just trying to stay close in as many moments as possible. ;-)
DONE...anyone need a clue??
I want a clue to how you came up with that name ;-) I love it!
(((MrP & Lickety)))
ouwatchita gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
It was the brand name of a canoe I owned...I always tell people it is Indian for "man with large ______"...fill in the blank
wtg, ouwa!
Morning everyone :)
pe5,21 heheheheheheahahhahahaha
hi, angela! : )
That is brilliant Ouwa - so funny!!!
morning everyone!!!!
hey shorty
Hello shorty - and all other joiners I haven't greeted yet. I;ve finished so should really head off to do some baking. The spring cleaning will have to wait for another day....
bye Haz - have fun!
Bye Haz - you could ask Mikey to help you :)
like your icon, shorty. Clue please for the fa 5/18 that follows fa 6/33? Thanks
Hi Haz Bye Haz :)
I don't think I could meet his standards!
ty ch1212
Bye all - have fun!
I am now watching star trek!! icon changed!!
good one, Mr.P -- haven't seen hurshy around, and I know she's a huge Star Trek fan.
... on the other hand, she turned off the chat log yesterday so she wouldn't spot clues. Still wondering if any clues for that fa 5/18 out there?
ch1212 - I'd help but I don't have that one either :)
i just monkey typed fa 5/18, gimme a minute, i'll clue ya
nevermind -- found it!
fa 5/18 fa+ top secret organization in the US
Good Morning Babblers :)
g' morning, faeriekae
Hi faeriekae. Great clue, abe!
Hi Abe & ch12 :)
morning Faerie :)
faeriekae, I had a boss who used to blame all the computer problems on "that green woman from Orion" :D
Hi Angela - what is your icon I can't make it out.
It's a Tribble :)
ooh, let's guess... Spock's brain?
LOL can't believe you reconoized her :)
ch just what I thought LOL
hi faeriekae! think i'll go change now - and get ready for 10 am meeting...BBL!
and what is a tribble ?
Vina, the Orion slave girl .. she was played by Yvonne Craig.
I'm old school - never cared for the new trek.
Hi and Bye TO :)
... not that I'm a big Star Trek fan or anything ... :D
darn - i was g oing hunting for one, too...
Was the episode called "The trouble with Tribbles"?
GASP!! What is a Tribble! Bestill my heart! Enough drama - google "the trouble with tribbles" :)
Angela, More Tribbles, More Troubles from ST TAS
CH you really are a trekie :) Orion the Slave Girl exactly
Gorn is probably available, TO ... or just about any episode featured a beautiful alien female
oh Good Morning MrP :)
I used to watch it Saturdays with my Dad.
Good moring Trekkies!! Hello Faerie!! very sexy!!
Wait until Jacula returns -- she's 7 of 9 today
I kind of thought it looked like cotton candy also...
MrP Yes I am aren't Hi - hahahahahah
I used to watch with my Dad too Angela :)
LOL FMitch
LOL FMitch - you caught that huh?
It was ST first, then Dr. Who...ah, memories. I'll have to call him today :)
Did I miss something??
It's no good, got to stop talking and find some more words, only added 1 to the list in the lat 45 mins. Reverting to lurking mode :)
Ok, going to sleep now!! for real! (waving, not drowning!) bye all!
bye, Mr. P -- Angela, no worries, we were chuckling with you :)
Does anyone care for a clue before I get ready for work?
bye mrpresident
Good Night MrP Sweet Dreams :)
thanks ch1212, i'm going to monkeytype a little more until my caffeine kicks in
I'm off to work. Happy babbling! Speaking of, someone please use an icon from the Star Trek episode "Journey to Babble" --- how perfect is that?!
It is agreeable to see you all this morning, my fellow Babblers:)
Have a nice day CH12 :)
Morning Daisy :)
Mornin' :)
good afternoon everyone:)
Daisy where again are you TN ? I lived in Oakridge for a couple of years.
Hello Jean nice to see you today :)
*looks at puzzle* OMG...this puzzle looks like Vulcan! *wonders if my Vulcan S/O would be able to translate*
Daisy it is Vulcan for sure.
ty faeriekae
I'm in California now, but I used to live quite a ways from Oak Ridge...I was south of Nashville, almost on the Alabama line.
Daisy - We is have to say the TN is a beautiful state.
OMG - I can't type the Vulcan's have me *oh no*
It's pretty...but poor as dirt, which is one reason I left.
yes it is sad to say. I actually grew up in Kentucky and am planning to move back down there within the nex couple of years. LOVE Kentucky.
planning to move back to KY that is.
lol The first thing I've seen on this puzzle that makes any sense, isn't even a word...VGA, computer term. S/O is a puter tech, so I eat, breathe and sleep it.
this actually seems to be a fairly easy grid today. Most of the smaller ones are really tuff.
Easy?? You must really BE an alien then! lol
*teehee* ok it is tuff as nails :) wouldn't want to be accused of being an alien
I protest! "Roughy" IS a word...is a kind of fish
live long and prosper
yeah i was irked about that too daisy...morning all...eaten any good books lately?
Book?? What's a book? lol
Morning Hurshy
morning, you temptress you
{{{Bex}}} how are you?
Mornin' hursh
14 :)
oops confused bex this afternoon!! im fine down to my last 10 to get!
excellent Bex - you rock :) go girl!!!!
how are u?
Bex - I'm great. The sun is shinning and it looks like it is going to be a nice day so I'm just great. Thanks for asking :)
morning daisy :)
who dyed angela's tribble???
bye all hopefully bbl and try and get some more not doing too well today :( lol
Later Jean :)
Hey faeri, I see two words that us country girlz had better get...one is an ho word, the other is a ca.
LOL Daisy - I gotem' both first thing when I sat down thats what made me 'think' this was going to be easy. LOL The joke was on me.
I've ho** many a garden and feed many little cows.
any aa clues?
Yeah but know what's REALLY fun? Doing the garden thing with morning glory vines and bullnettles wrapping around your legs! I've spent too many days in a tobacco field to ever want to do that again.
Fig - aa + letter after g + 2nd voewl + 3rd letter again
unless i'm nuts, that doesn't work....are you sure the last letter is the same as the third letter?
Daisy - If I never see another tocabbo field the rest of my life it would not hurt my feelings. I've stood in the stupid barn stripping tobacco till I thought I'd drop and I hated haning tobacco and I hated the morning glory vines and I hated cutting tobacco and I hated setting tobacco....I could go on with this all day. We had 4 tobacco fields that I had to work in.
fig sorry the last letter is d
Finally, somebody who understands! And the S/O smokes that crap like there's no tomorrow...*sigh*
just monkey typed it. i iwsh i had a bigger vocab...manmomanoman thanks
Greetings, fellow Babblers! How goes the grid today?
brb need more coffee. and pottie break.
Me too
{{{Jera}}} *sprinkle* *sprinkle* *sprinkle* and an extra dash for the grid *SPRINKLE*
LOL Fig - so do I.
thanks fk on to ap....working my way down the b.a. list. for me having 26 left is a miracle. i have the day off and i'm supposed to be house cleaning before my parents come visit after ayear!
*dances in the faerie dust* {{faerie}}
Greetings. LIstening to country music videos while babbling. "Let's get drunk and be somebody."
Minski-LOL theres another on that I thought you were leaning towards that is Very similar.
Fig - what the heck there is always time to clean the gird is must be finished or there will be a melt down.
Baby is stuffing toys down the front of her pajamas while singing e-i-e-i-o. There must be something funny in the air today.
all bow to the power of the grid.
LOL Minski that is so sweet :)
*bows*
As far as books go, I couldn't get tickets to the musical "Wicked" so I decide to read the book. I highly recommend it.
That second/last al5/14 has me stumped... help, please?
Minski - I just ordered that book a couple days ago off Amazon - sounds really good.
Gotta go. It's naptime for the pipsqueak and showertime for the mama. BBL8R.
Later Minski :)
jera: al5/14 if you took out the 'l' it would be a hghly coorosive compund like sulphuric...... w/ the 'l' I oculdn't find that it was really a word, but the grid likes it.
I have that once... I need the second one, or the last one it could be said...
other al5/14 all vowels 3rd, sometimes,1st also seems to be a non-word
dictionary.com doesnt list it
this is SUCH an apropos grid for trek day.
Jera - al5/14 the first part is the first letters of the heroine of 'Through the Looking glass', the second is two letters of an imperial measurement (three feet)
Thanks, tarajane... that would make a pretty name, though!
Spock . . . .
all done, and no studying to do; I may have to do housework (horrors!) Sc otty, beam me up!
Thank you too, Haz, good clue!
Congratulations Tarjane !!!!
yes captain!
faerikae, you are always so generous, must be part of that babble gang thing...Gotta go. TTFN
LOL Bex :)
Leave it to torgone to take the Captain's chair...
Bye Tarjane have a nice day cleaning house :)
ohhh, hi spot!! (and data)
Hi JB :)
"ode to spot" is posted in the poetry corner in babanon if anyone is the mood :)
Tarjane, I also have cleaning, but I have a good excuse, 48 words to go!
love the Icon.
*gotta go see*
LOL BJ me too..
Thanks, hursh! for noticing my cat (and Data). I love that ode! Have you seen Hamlet's soliquy from a cat's paw of view?
i THINK i have... but not sure.
Hey, faerie! Thanks! you know, it's just got to have a cat in it somewhere!
I had a printout, that I just ran across as I'm decluttering, I check if I can find it. What's your email, hursh?
JB, i'll put it in my bio temporarily for you :)
Good, I just found it online, I'll c/p/s (copy/paste/send) from yahoo.
Can anyone help me with the fe4,7 words please?
{{Scribble}} don't have them yet. sorry.
Got it, hursh, you can delete it now.
scribble - one is a scared emotion, another has to do with loyalty (but it's kinda obscure... same as other except last letter)
ty JB :)
hello to all-my usual question-how many words today-gl to everyone
Here's the start: To go outside, and there perchance to stay Or to remain within: that is the question:
Oh!!! Thanks Hurshy, don't know why i couldn't see that. Got it now.
can anyone help me with al 7/36 and 7/44 they are my last 2 words!!
Hursh, I just hit Send.
it is very well done :) why not put it up in poetry corner too?
BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY, I'M FINISHED!!!!!! On to a day of stitching
Good moning, sweethearts all. This just just to tell my babbler pals I won't be playing today--have work to do on an essay about Virginia Woolf. Interestingly, looking at today's grid, it will deal largely with ORLANDO. Synchronicity, what? See you all tomorrow.
anyone? anyone at all?
Still ...working . . .on ..thembex
Hi BEX 777, What's up?
if you don't give her those clues, she will use the vulcan death grip on you.
bex, I don't have those yet either, sorry. I will, hursh! it will give me good practice in posting (more a lurker than not on babanon)
tor - like kirk is gonna find them before spock... pfft
im missing my last 2 words!
LOL Processing....processing
They both sound a lot like the Terrorist group
The first 3 al's are all related
how many words today pls ?
98, iio
im finished. fasinating!
add the 3rd vowel in the middle of la7,36 and the letter after x in the middle of 7,44
Spock beats Data!
Well done, bex . . . . .my . . .old . . . .friend!
thanks rumple!!
What.... ...no ROFL?
********FIREWORKS******** for BEX 777
Whoo-hoo! *happy dance of doneness*
Stuck at 57 words. Got the al7/36 but not the 44. Any clues?
"thanks torgone and thanks for helping me get my katra back in my head."
********FIREWORKS******** for JERA
replace the dotted vowel with the sometimes vowel
That clue was for hydra. Thansk for the fireworks!
same as 36 with letter after x in middle
*~*~*~CONGRATULATIONS BEX*~*~*~* WHOOT!!!!!!!
jera, rymple, thanks so much!
Whoot Jera!!!!! Congratulations
Oops, meant rumple... Having bad typing day.
I need to do some maintenence on the ship here, or I'll be demoted. I'll bbl, probably after the S/O goes on his daily away mission.
Glad to help ..
:D
How do you dowload the icons from sites? Computer illiterate here!
tor - if you're confused... bex doesn't watch trek and we've been having a little cyrano thing going on here which doesn't always work out to a tee :)
I was confused, and now I am more so. Thank you ..
more so? you don't know about cyrano, or what?
join the club torgone!!
rumple- are you on a mac or pc?
puppet master hurshy trying to make everyone trekkish...
hey hurshy
hey :)
Is that cyrano, as in "my, what a long nose you have" cyrano?
how many cyranos are there? :)
Cyrano de Bergerac? I know about that ..
Abe, is that's Zulu's head in a jar? *note to self: Zulu is a jarhead.*
and of course everyone has seen the episode where barclay plays cyrano...
Aw, hurshy, you didn't say there would be a QUIZ!
yes it is
fiance is big into the trek, i'm learning slowly
I'm just a little behind the curve .. Nothing new about that .. Club? What club?
OMG I just refreshed Abe I love your icon LOL
is the proportional "big nose" theory true?
the little gang of people that have no idea what going on!!
Broccoli was a GREAT character! Totally erased the ATeam thing (for me) after his stint on Trek.
{{{Smaller}}}
Certainly is smaller.... *scratches argish nose*
thanks faeriekae
If it's TNG, I have no idea ..
Argish, student? Hmmm, new word for me <grin>
tor, my point was simply that i have been feeding trekkish things to say to bex through AIM.
Ah, loving all these trek icons...Spock & Q ROCK!
had to look that one up hey fairiekaaeeaeea!
Q just seemed so mean. bored sadism
Now I get it .. .. . . . ??
OMG Smaller be careful *someone just came online* **teehee**
pide?
Smaller - try to look invisible
Faerie, did you do a new icon? Looks the same to me (menancing pixie minx type) as before Refresh.
not on, just had a few minutes to jot some words
JB - refresh
Hey, smaller! Note that I am behaving myself today like the sober android I am...
I can't even see you charm LOL
tor... what is so hard to understand about me wanting everyone to be trekkish? :) :) :)
Did the big R, faerie, you've still got that green sheen. And how lovely it is, if I may say!
pc - Windows 98
ok, find a picture that you like. right click the image
save it to your desktop
JBsAnno- darn!!!
torgone: suck me into your universe, hursh. Make me wear pointed ears to a StarCon....
abe.l..killer icon.
choose the "save picture as" option when you save it to the desktop
thanks fig!
Refresh for my new icon... finally found a decent one of my favorite villain
JB -I am Orion the Slave Girl
Ok, maybe not so sober (refer to the misquoted torgone in my last post...)
hey there is NOTHING WRONG with wearing plastic pointed ears OR going to a star trek convention
I think i'm being assimilated ..
you mean the Orion Slave Girl, faerie :)
keep telling yourself that hurshy. (fingers up in vulcan v)
OK Abe 79, what do I do after that to get Babble to accept it?
Whoa, down hursh! I didn't say there was, in fact, I applaud it! Though I do frown upon Trekkies wearing the Starfleet uniform to work, unless they work on a starship -.
tor, we have to assimilate a handsome fellow like yourself
"no, i'm from iowa, i only work in outer space"
go to my profile, edit icon choose option 2: browse your computer
LOL, hursh!
or the popular 'i'm not an alien, but i play one on tv"
OK, I'll give it a try, thanx
ch1212 should NOT have suggested this... how will i ever get the grid done with all this trek talk
Yup, you are mean and green, faerie! Got the Orion. Hey, Jera, is that the god in the abandoned space vehicle from the episode where they were gonna execute Wesley for trespassing on sacred ground?
if the image is saved on your desktop, select it, click ok, you should be all set
Look, a Talking Head!
no, JB, i think Jera has Q in Q-Pid
as the sheriff of nottingham
but who has noticed that Vaal is in the puzzle, and picard almost is! :)
Yes, hursh, I have noted that!
oh no. am i stuck in a warp bubble AGAIN?
Hi everyone. I am back. Did the first half babbling silently this morning. Now for the rest!!!
okay...hanging on the fa's...the long ones 6/33 and 5/18. am i overlooking the obvious?

fig, at 2 in the morning, I kept trying to put an "L" on the end of the fa word

Hmmmmm ----- aaaaaa-------

That's just lovely, hurshy! <dabs at eyes>
good morning, good morning, all! happy star trek day! woo-hoo!
course it's really not the same without spock accompanying...
Stidmama! Look, I'm up!
greetings, stidkira
Hursh, looks like Spock bugged out.
Stid, the scary thing is, your icon does look like MY mother!
didn't you loved when he "jammed" with those hippie-like folks who wanted to go to Eden?
beam me up. i (out of breath, stupified and warped0 finished my first puzzle...ever. can i help anyone while i get prepared to clean house?
YAY fig! i don't need help, i just need to stop talking trek! lol
YAY fig! *happy dance, happy dance*
Congrats Fig !!!!
Hooray for fig! Here's a cup of tranya ..
JB -- good for you! I'm awake, but not really "up" yet... (grin) but I did get a load of laundry in already!
i like puzzles with a normal number of words. it's not too overwhelming....this one was good. how do they say words are 'official' when the lonline dictionary doesn't list them/
dang, i'm not done, can i have some tranya anyway?!
i want that drink whoopie goldberg made on THG that you had to drink before it disappeared.
A stupendous accomplishment, fig! Hurrah! (Spot waves his paw in congratulations)
ahem, isn't spot a girl?
Yup, stidmama, did the laundry, cleared the bureau, now must finish the bathroom!
Tranya for everybody! Harry Mudd's buying!
okay, I'm going to disappear while I put words into the list... brb
hehehe
yes. spot IS a girl. remember. space kittens
A something Sunset, yes?
Sorry, I had given up on anyone talking to me & wandered off to do other thing. That's Q in Sherwood Forest, in the Q-pid episode, kudos to hurshy!

Morning Jera (and all) How's the star sign research coming on?
Yay, hursh, I knew you would know!
Morning, FMitch! Hi back, Jera!
and actually data made it for troi, i don't remember guinan making one. maybe a different drink is in question?
Hi FMitch
hurshy better stop before she scares everyone so much that they don't want to be her friends tomorrow :)
I thought there was an episode when Guinan made it first.
Hi faeire, JBs et all!!!
morning everyone! any clues for oo..?
probably.
I think it was for Picard, maybe in the Mark Twain story line?
what's this...where have i landed?
hang on JB let me see if i can look it up
Hiya, ren! Find Guynan, get a drink, you'll feel better fast!
Okay, hursh, anything for a singning partner!
Hi shirin oo + sounds like pep r****
Hi faerie, everyone.

khan's here... i would quake in fear had i not an omnipotent being in my icon
KHAAAAAAAAANNN!!!!!!
Thanks, hursh, I see that Quark also made them, so that's what I was probably thinking. <hiding behind Q so Khan won't see Spot)
from hell's heart i stab at thee... for hate's sake i spit my last breath at thee...
Temple, I deduce that you need to upgrade your communication device! Make it a Treo, at least...
(hurshy said a wurd...)
quark, yes...
Just because I'm hiding behind you? Sheesh, touchy, touchy! <grin>
oh well... it was in a quote... it doesn't count if it's in a quote... :)
i'm going to have to head out for a little while (grumpy face), will miss all the fun -- *steps onto transporter*
jb: spot the cat?
That's okay, hursh, kristinc and I said the fl** word at the fl**!
hmmm.... vger doesn't quite connect either but it's ALMOST there
Tis she, tis she, sweet Temple!
now that seems inevitable, JB
Bye, stid, cul8ter
fa 6/33?
jb: i saw the cutest animated card called bored spot - she walks across the computer on the bridge and types "send fish: LOL!
a false front... the holodeck's projections are a mere fa6/33 (unless maybe we uncouple the heisenberg compensators...)
I must follow stidmama. Thanks for the songs and info, hursh! Permission to depart, Captain?
that's you tor...
LOL, Temple! That's a GREAT line for me when playing this game! Send the fish (fa6/33), I'll slap myself around a bit, then give the rest to Spot!
D'oh. Can't believe I missed that. Thanks, hurshy.
i'm helpless here, JB, you outrank worf and q's mortal in this pic...
Hmm, maybe the Captain is entertaining privately in his cabin. There IS an Orion girl on board, after all...
i can give spot permission to depart...
anyone got clues for the first 3 al's & the fa5/24?
Today was a bad day for me to come babble...it's like you're all speaking klingon or something... =)
So I can tell Q to leave a message, and he would have to?
hi guys... question for all you pro members...
mortal does not equal cooperative... :)
is it okay to use my credit card to go pro without using paypal? any opinions?? i can't get into my paypal acct
Just don't give her permission to do anything else, okay, hursh? <wink>
talk24- yes you can use a credit card
Talk24, I have a credit card SOLELY for internet use. I had no problem, did not use Paypal.
ok :)
talk24 - yes it is, I did it that way as I dont have a paypal a/c.
But surely easier to manipulate, yes?
startrek is he theme of the day leigh- check out the Angelsong's link on the right and then 'babble themes'
only slightly - BUT you can give worf orders and he would follow them!
Cool, thanks guys for your opinion
Bryan- yes, yes, I know, but I don't know the first thing about Star Trek. So it's not much fun for me.
JB - if you're still here -this is for you refresh
Sorry, Captain was gettin' some green ...
sorry leigh... pull up a chair and have some gagh anyway!
me neither!
cnal;t0 type, lauging too harddd LOLOLOLO ahem, Captain sir!
You wouldn't poison me, would you?
Temple, I LOVE it - purrfect!!!!!!!!
So who's the impostor clone captain?
leigh - if it isn't moving, don't drink it!!!!! Try a Sumerian Sunset instead.
of course not leigh... unless you're durass... you're not are you? cause there is a whole revenge thing there...
chic, torgone was the only captain in residence for the last hour.
So, either Captain, sir - may I be excused to leave the bridge? I have some serious decluttering to finish!
Bother. My stolen internet was disconnected.
It's a doppleganger from the reverse universe....
Well...er...I'm not thirsty. Yeah...not... *hides juice*
gagh isn't a drink, anyway, it's a food.
To be accurate, gagh is actually a food, not a drink. "gagh is always best served live, sir"
Oh, well then I'm definitely not hungry. =) Late breakfast.
That just goes to show you all how clueless I am!
Hi all......Just joining Star Ship Enterprise
Hi Caitlyn :) ok excurse me Dr Spook.
I'll be back to play later...I must away.. "Scotty beam me outta here!"
later chic :)
Permission granted . .for everything ..
I must depart, fellow Trekkies and Babblers all. <whoosh> Transporter room. <whoosh> (okay, it's the best I can do for the doors, okay?) Exit, left transporter pod. Beam me back to the boxes, Chief!
Thanks, Captain, for your usual impeccable (sic?) timing!

Greetings. I"m back. I'm having issues with the FAs. Could someone please clue me in on the 1st 2 or the last one? Thanks.
there are more than 2??? LOL
Hi Minski. The ist fa is also called the front of a building
the last fa is fa5/24, def is exclamation of contempt, disgust or abhorrence. Sounds a bit like the number after 3.
Thanks shirin. Got the 6.
may i have a clue for the ei4/5? got me stumped!!
THe ones I need now are the FA5/18 and the FA5/22.
oops no its not... the last fa is fa5/22 - to join or fit closely.
the FA5 is a science word-layer top of muscle.
ei is a homonym for the ey
Or is it homophone? I can't remember that far back in school.
i think they mean the same thing, leigh :)
CAthyar, did you get it yet? It sounds just lke the ey word, just spelled differently
Maybe that's why I can't remember.. Perhaps I should re-learn that before I start teaching some little kids...
LOL...u all r funny... got it tho...thanks a bunch
for anyone who cares, Silent Hill sucked.
Done with the Fs. Working on Cs and As. 15 words left to find.
and what did the Silent Hill suck? The Silent Hill (a haiku by hurshy) the silent hill suck'd all the joy from existence leaving me empty
thanks for the info boreetos. I wanted to catch a flick and now I know which one not to see. Why am I all of the sudden craving pretzels or cheezy puffs?
hurshy, that was awesome.
*snaps for hurshy*
WoW hurshy
lenscrafters gives you glasses in an hour, i give you haikus in a minute
many a chocolate likeness of hurshy should be lovingly devoured.
10 words left to find. Just As.
Whatever that au word is, it must be Klingon instead of Vulcan...anybody speak Klingon in here? pls?
i only speak a little. but the au word is english :)
AU5 is the same as the OU5 with a different 1st letter.
tndaisy, you au5 to learn to klingon then
Oh this IS bad...
au5/18 - another word for should
actually i believe it means zero.
Does anyone have any ALs except for the 4 or the AP?
yeah the ou word is like should, but the au means zero.
Oh sweet mothership...! I use that word ALL the time...I just didn't know how to spell it!
29 left. Need to move my car. bbialb
how long is this ap of which you speak, minski?
Baby's up from her nap. I'll be back to finish the last few As later. 6 words left to find.
I bet like me you had forgotten there was a t down the bottom corner!!!
ap6/24
I'm new at this, but fromg reading ur chats, how do u know how many words are left out there?
minski - formal def of the ap - Of, relating to, located at, or constituting an apex.
hi goosie, welcome to babble.

Thanks.....Boreetos
Hi Goosie welcome to the game.Ask for any help you need
goosie, check out lickedy's babble clues on the friends of babble list. you can find out how many words there are and such
check out the links at the right for info, goosie. 99 words today.
goosie 99 words today Have a look at Angelsongs link on the right hand side of the page lots oif useful info!
i am back -- hello boreetos, all!
i should direct you up to the Babble rules link up top and to the Babbler's Anon. and Lickey's pages to the right. One's got info and instructions and the other has word quantity info and second letter lists of all the words.
hi stidmama! I'm representing space pretzels!
back to work. see you all at lunch!
bye boreetos!
Bye boreetos
bye boreeeeeeeeetos
Thanks guys!! 99 words! Frick, I only have 8... lol I feel kinda dumb right now, but I still don't see the "link" that tells me how many words for that day.. I know it's 99 today, but I just wanted to know so I wont be bugging you folks everyday!
goosie, when you are pro, the stats page tells you how many possible words there are, as well as how many you still need to find. otherwise, we use Lickety's clues or Babbler's Anonymous to give the total number and additional hints...
Goosie look on the right side of the page and click on Angelsongs Resource and you will see the rules of the game and under 2 letter word list click on Licketys list Good luck and welcome to Babble.
goosie - dont worry about it - you can always ask how many words. If you look at licketys link you will see that amongst all the stats it gives the number of words in the grid too.
faeriekae! I think I missed you earlier... is the weather getting better yet?
Stid - it is 49 degrees right now.
And HI
pi5/14? please
the sun is shinning so it really isn't too bad outside.
Greetings, Treksters.

Hi Mama

Hi Mikey - Nice ears LOL
aw; why thank you, faeriekae!!! :-)
No I'm not faeriekay I am Orion Slave Girl
ja, well; have to address you by the name we all know you by, and that shows in here, to avoid confusion :-P
Mikey -- kinda scary that you could go to a star trek convention without makeup... LOL ;-)
hmm, stidmama? :-/ i don't go to any, though; never have, probably never will.....i'm not a 'Trekkie'! :-P
there was some talk of an oo word before, is this just a rumor or is it Truth?
hmmm... oo6/18?
*joke alert* i was referring to your 'vulcan' ears, Mikey!
ty cathyar!
oo6/18...hmm...the clue is === oo + anagram of a train track
ja; i know, stidmama.....just didn't understand what you meant, that i could go without makeup? :-/ oh; saying these ears are natural??? :-P lol; well.....they took a little 'work' in paint shop pro! ;-)

yo, aloy. thx. you have AIM to chat?
i'd tell you temple, but i don't like to make pointed remarks
Sorry, Broll - I don't. should I call you tonight?

it's all good, mikey! today is friday for me!
I'm behind you too Deutsch -- WAY behind! (can't watch scary movies...)
be logical deutsch. what are the odds that you would be chain saw massacred on the VERY DAY you watched the movie?
Go rent "Very Bad Things" it makes TCSM look like Sesame Street
LOL Stid
better yet - watch scary moview 1, 2, or 3! LOL funny!
What are the odds that the only time I've ever heard a chain saw is the only time I've watched TCM?
{{{Capone}}} Why are you not in theme today? You go change right now.
Beam me up.
Not staying just checking in to see how big the grid is today
aw, mamabear....
Capone it's an easy one come on in :)
Capone, I'll put that on the list for way in the future. LOL
capone if you want to be a cat you could be spot - or there was an original series episode called catspaw with this cat with a cool thing around it's neck. come to think of it there was also assignment: earth where there was a cat/woman i think...
:-/
Sorry, stuff to do. If you see TSM say hi for me

bye Aloyisuis
ooh ooh don't go exwren, or at least, leave your icon here
later, Jean-Luc!
Back. We should have a hockey theme.
leigh - there is a sports day coming up, will that do?
I suppose. I should see if I can afford go pro just so I can use a Brodeur icon that day.
I have to come back later, I still have 37 words to find
are there any z words needed
leigh, it's not too much to go pro and apart from the icon and bio bits you get the stats panel which shows you which letters the words come from and that is a real big bonus!!!
majmom -- no words begin with z
naw, I don't think the Z is used at all!
Not too much, but you're talking to a college girl who still lives with her mother. It's enough. =)
thanks-i`ll keep on looking
z is used in a ge4
oooh thank you! I was totally ignoring it!
leighperfect: nothing wrong with that! Might as well *milk* you parents for as long as you can, cuz when you have to work for a living, that sucks!
aha! and I got the ge4! thank you again!
z is used in a g4/11 word but not in a word that starts with z
Hey Mikey - did you finish the grid yet?
dun dun dun DONE!
walnut- I try not to too much because then I'll be in for a rude awakening when I'm off on my own.
yay stid!
I can clue for 5 minutes, then must go get something accomplished for my day!
leighperfect: I know - I went through that! Ha! good thing the economy was pretty good then, so I was able to learn my lesson and get by!
i really need help with the al's... i cant see them at all!
Mikey are you still here?
I need the la 5/16... *peers*
the al words are brutal. three are homophones. the first al is followed by a ca 4/6
la... past tense of what you do on a bed.
the second al adds the third vowel to the middle the third al substitutes the sometimes vowel in the same place...
SHORTY!!!! ((((((((SHORTY))))))))))
((shorty)) hi!
{{{{{{{{{{{MAMA}}}}}}}}}}
{{{{{stidmama}}}}}
aloy - e-mail sent after 4 tries! Done too. Bye all.
YAY broll! see you!
I have the la 4. I need the la 5, but thanks.
{{{{shorty}}}}
kls -- did those clues help?

{{{{{{{{{{{{faerie}}}}}}}}}}}}
the fourth al begins with the same three letters + opposite of "ego"
please may i have a clue for al5/14??? it's my last word!!!! for the life of me I cannot find it!!!!
the fifth al sounds like the beginning of the "abc" set
He was????? ooooohhhh.... sorry I missed him..... maybe he'll come back *mamabear looks to the horizon*
Mama -you may want to email him....sounds sad.
pi 6/24???? please.
the last al (5/14) puzzles me. I think it is a short form for "The immigration of Jews into Israel" - I have seen it as a girl's name.
Cathyar What part of canada are you in?
pi 6/14: pi + ca 4
awww is mikey sad?
Stid - I is 51 degrees now. Real heat wave huh LOL
oops, that's ca 4 -l + round vowel...
I'm in Nova Scotia, Shorty :)

Oh mercy 18 too go is this ever going to end.

4 words left to find. All AL words. Please help. al 6, 24 al 7, 36 al 7, 44 al 5, 14
ok - gotta go to the store I need more shoes and another lipstick or two. I'll be back later on for my last 17 wrds. Later all.....
i don't know which has to do with birds, but one is like ac4 but with an l stuck in, and the other sounds like a singer who i think may have died? a recent woman... al6 and the 7's sound like bid laden's organization
I am typing myself sillyon that of 4/9 clue Still trying first I will refresh then try again.
your al6's and 7's are all the same word...just spelled differently. a spanish officer
get some tinted moistririzer whila you're at it....
i think my lip is permanently split. i use the chapstick but it never seems to get better.
I found that last of word. Now I am done and can celebrate by doing something useful, like housework. Thansk for all the help.
byyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeee faerie
live well and prosper, inge!
congrateroonies inge!
i used to make my mom write "live long and prosper" on my birthday cakes instead of "happy birthday"
Hurshy, I think Neosporin has some kind of lip stuff out, but I can't think of the name of it.
inge use the numbers to work out which letters you need for the of4/9. Failing that think of a + girls name.
yeah i think i've seen that daisy - maybe i do need something more hard core.
GOT 'EM!! DONE!!
th4/5, th4/7...advise please which t i am missing? no clue yet- jus the letters/numbers, please...

I hope so some of them are so hungry for love and attention. I have some great kids!!
argh. i am back.
I'm on "vacation" not working at work, but working at home. Was supposed to go w/ DH to Tennessee to see his dad (who is still not recovered from stroke last summer) but plans changed, and I stayed behind with the felines who need daily medical attention. And I missed yesterday's grid at the fl** by 32 words <mutters in feline language>
Finished... Yay.
I dunno, shorty *scratches head*.... maybe it's the "bear" in me........ you know - the "bear hug factor" LOL
{{{{shorty!!!}}}} It's bear hugs, get it?
hurshy - argh? Pirates in Trek, now?
oh ok I suppose ;p
Anyone know what the oo word means?
{{{{{{{{{{{{{shorty}}}}}}}}}}} }}}}}}} mmmmmwwwwwaaaaaaahhhh hhhhhh *throws hand in the air blowing kisses to shorty*
of course there are pirates in trek... however, what you have here is one very annoyed math teacher
quick!! before scribble gets home someone help me with the fa6,33 and fa5, 18
oh ya didn't have to spit on me *wiping spit from eye*
MB - I got scolded last night for mwah - I used it for evil laughter, but the scolder thought I was throwing "fake" kisses. My kisses are never fake!
fa 5/18 fa + first three letters of a viagra competitor
Websters says the oo word are" wild sheep in northern India"
fa 6/33 is the front of a building
Oh, okay. Yes, I know there are intergalatic pirates, but they usually call them something alien-and-exotic-sounding in Trek, and hardly anyone says 'argh' in Trek universe! Annoyed math teachers, unite! Argh!
Thank ya'll
I'm here, everyone!!!!!
Hi movieman, first time today, or just returning???
{{{{{{{movieman}}}}}}}}}
shorty........ not spit - bubble soap!
I have 34 words thus far without looking at the list...but I'm dying to know how many words there are today...
Inge - first time.... I've been out with my mate punster today, went to the cinema and saw Ice Age 2 & Tristan + Isolde.....
99 words today
oh, and hi!
99 words today :)
Greetings all, ooo movieman, I was just reading that J.J. Abrams is going to do another Star Trek movie. Know anything about that?
Was IceAge 2 as good as the first one, movieman?????
hiya chic!!!!!!
ah, not so bad today, eh? gheed
latest on the new ST movie here: http://www.trektoday.co m/news/210406_01.shtml
Chic - I've heard about that as well..... Here's a link if you wanna know more:http://entertainment.tv.y ahoo.com/entnews/eo/20060422/1 14577548000.html
Hi MamaB.!
bleh. oops. sometimes my computer doesn't do what i want it to do when i want it to do it. sorry
gotta do some work....... grrrrrrr
thanks, movieman and tndaisy...I'll check it out..
Mamabear - I thought it was better, actually..... Especially all the scenes with Scrat trying to get his paws on that blasted acorn......LOL
hmmm... not sure how i feel about the sound of that...
Hi again! Hey, movieman, I watched TCM this morning then when I got on to babble, I heard a chainsaw next door. Turns out they were just trimming something. What an odd coincidence!
That is weird, Deutsch..... So, what did you think of it, then......
Movieman, you were right. Very little blood and gore (thankfully( but high on suspense and chills!
I'M D O N E ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Darn, now I have no excuse, and have to go vacuum... still, I'm doing the happy dance of doneness!
Yea! for JB!!!
sorry Mama I didnt see your post I had to go get the soap out of my eye :P
*takes a bow* TY, Deutsch! I got half the words at the fl**, and the rest over 3 hours this morning.
Hands shorty a handful of M&M's - here you go, that should make you feel better!
i haven't even started....i think i'm caught in a time warp......
ren, didn't you just say that (like 2 hours ago)? hmmm, then again, you may be right!
mmmmmm ty for the M+M's much better
does anyone have a clue for af 6?
i'm af6 not, abe
Somebody, please clue me up with the 7's....
I'm af**** not, abe, you'll just have to keep asking. Did you get it?
ty hurshy
ro7 and fo7 are past tenses, the 2 al7's are alt spellings of the al6, all 3 sound like bin laden's org.
movieman, earlier today someone said they sound like a terrorist group you hear linked to the war in Iraq.
the al7's, I mean
you mean 9/11, JB. they have nothing to do with the war in iraq, really.
jb....i think i'm on the wrong ship today......:-D
nicely stated hurshey
Could someone give me points values for the 7's....
Me too, ren, for picking Data in my icon. I'm more for Spot - cats don't have to be up on current events (tee hee, hurshy!)
ren: get to work so you can eat dinner by, say, 8PM tonight - lol!
Temple, you changed!
yes ma'am t-owl!....back to work!
JBsAnno, i just read your clue. thanks! i do get it :)
hurshy - I thought they were very involved in the war too.....????
Me, too, ren, gotta finish vacumming and straightening. C U all L8r!
bye JB's Anno
Could someone give me points values for the 7's....
Hi Ren, that is my all time favorite Trek movie "the Wrath of Khan"....
al 7 36
<sssuuuuuuccccckkkkk> Ah, the sound of getting pulled back by the log. Good, abe! How many do you have left to go?
al 7 44
ro 7/48
fo7/52
Look out - the chat log died!
fo7/52, past tense of fo5/20
Fo? *takes another look at the grid*
al 7/36 al 7/44 fo 7/52 ro 7/ 48 Jurshy gave clues at at 2:07
JB's Anno 17 left leavign work in 5 minutes
Still can't get the al7's & the ro7...... Any further clues......
ro 7 is ptense of 5/18, go down in the grid
Movie, do you have al6 24? drop the third vowel in it
Movie, if you're in a fight, you might get ro***** up.
nice, jbs - thanks!
Deutsch - I don't even have the al6/24......
Abe, need any clues? Just one more word before you go go...
YW, vpchat
the al ,s sound alike, think of binLaidins group, one has an I the other a y in it, begin with al 6/27 , then stikc in the third vowel,
Movieman it's the al + ca4/6
JB's Anno, so kind of you! i'm not quite sure what i need , i'm working on the 'bin laden' sounding al's right now. i have one
It's not fair! Theu are already giving the new Star Trek movie a bad rap and it hasn't been made yet. I wish they had made the 'Stargate' movie they were going to do..
Hmm, try this, movie man: If the 2nd letter was an 'r' instead of an 'L", you would use the word to describe a place in the mall filled with video games
thinkk... oh, what JB said. LOL
I give up!!!! I'm gonna have to use the blasted dictionary for those al7's.....
ack, must leave now. will finish later. thanks everyone!
Abe, then you can add the 3rd vowel and the sometimes vowel after the first vowel in the middle of the word and get the 7's
Got to run for a bit see you all later
so, you gonna train those phasers on the dictionary to blast it, movieman?
See ya, Abe! Later, everyone - BBL.
thanks JB's Anno! that was labor intensive ....see you all later
I just found those al7's, (using the Babble Enable List), and they don't sound like Bin Laden's terroist group...... At least, not in my opinion....
hey i gotta run and do some packing bbl
Thanks a bunch!!!! for the help on that al6, 24 JB!!!!!
what about the last al5/14?
hey hey hey!!!!!
anyone feel like giving a clue on the other y, not the day month ____
ye**, sure, glad to . . .
Sorry movieman, we all thought it sounded like the Al Quaida of Bin Ladin.
I finally found those al's! It was the game clue that did it, btw, ty.
man pass me that fish again, I forget to go down
thanks a bunch
hi kids!
fmitch - you still around? sorry i got sidetracked.
hey everyone - this is the first time since i started that i have gone all the way back in the chat log, out of curiosity to see everyone's st icons - many excellent choices, but i always thought there were many more pro players than this!
so im missing one of the t words. i have one that ryhmes with ski and one that rhymes with weigh. what am i missing?
change the first vowel in the one that rhymes with "ski"
hey hk! haven't seen you in a while!
another that rhymes with weigh, boreeeetos :) so go pro, helen, go pro!
pro is the way to go! GO PRO!
there are two that rhyme with weigh
thanks hurshy!
geaux preaux!!
lol
hurshy, how many letters?
Hola - how goes it in babble-lonia??
thank you nat! Hey lupe!
OOoook...was is something I said?
Hi Boreetos!
* hk dreams if she were pro, perhaps she would have chosen seven (dang it! taken by jacula, vn & soooo hot), or spock (bex - the perfect pic) but would settle for chakotay - who could be my strong, silent second in command any time :)
boreeeeeeeetos!!!! well, you have your ski and your weigh..... looks like you're missing the curds!!!! Hi Lupe!!!!!
((((MAMA))))) How are you???
did you find it boree?
lol, hey hurshy, hi boreetos
Survivin, Lupe!!!!!! Haven't seen you for a while - hows by you?
i did yes, thanks! hi mama, glad to see you haven't gotten all serious on us. :)
hiya helen!!!!!! Just in and out here while they are FORCING me to work at gunpoint!!! tee hee
Good- I was in Mexico for vacation....been super busy at work since I got back. Boss is out for the day so I thought I'd sneak in..
lol mama!!!! fight back with phasers!!!!
well nice to see you lupe!
Thx Boreetos....!
boreeeetos - my phil is that life is too short to take it THAT seriously!!!!!!!!
helen :) i sent bex that icon, cause she's never seen trek :)
Just changed my icon, people....... You all know the drill......
helen - don't dream of doing it...... DO IT!!!!!
anyone with a oo clue?
hursh!!! that's great, show the youngun the way :))) she ought to start at the beginning & not be spoiled by more recent special effects - appreciate the awesome foresightedness that was roddenberry
interesting factoid! I was a mount maker for the EMP's Sci Fi musuem, and we got all kinds of cool star trek gadgetry in that we got to scope out and build mounts for, it was really cool. The phasers especially kept my attention. Some really cool onews and most of them actually lit up and moved and stuff. :)
I know the drill..... also met a very interesting table saw yesterday!
hey movie man! I saw Silent Hill last night.
Boreetos - cool!!! I'll probably be seeing that one next week......
mama - you sound like a line outta rocky horror - but, sadly, am unemployed so must watch my pennies, but have been thinking about it - also scared that i will complete my addiction by going pro, is there a 12 stepper that comes with the pro package?
eh, not so much movieman. I wasn't impressed. :(
fa5/24, please?
boreetos was so unimpressed i had to write a haiku about it!
fa 5/24 fa * sound you make at something gross
fo 6/39 please?
hurshy, :) its true, it was awesome.
i should repost it for movieman. The Silent Hill the silent hill suck'd all the joy from existence leaving me empty
thanks vp!! fo kinda like the fa, past tense of physical disagreeing
thanks smaller!
fa 5/22 please, anybody?
yes you should.
lol
well, according to Lickety's page, I'm done. According to the stats, I am missing another A word. Anybody found this discrepancy?
fa 5/22 homophone for "to lose color"
these are the a's aa 5 14 ac 4 6 ac 5 18 af 4 7 af 6 30 ag 4 6 ai 4 5 al 6 24 al 7 36 al 7 44 al 5 14 al 4 7 al 5 14 ap 6 24 au 5 18
ty vpchat - great clue
thanks hurshey. I have all those. But the stats still tell me I'm missing an A
vpchat, I did the same thing and found my bobo the list is correct and now....... ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^* ^*^ I'm Done!!!! ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
then refresh
congrats to you scribble's mom!
ok kids, I gotta once again return to work. I'll see you all later. :)
clue for ap 6/24?
Congrats Silent - but I don't understand what you mean. Am I missing an A? If so, what's the letter count/score?
are there two al5/14s?
ap 6/24 a + tro***** fruit
vpchat - you prob just need to refresh
ap 6/24 = news org. + state of la & sf (3 letters each)
99 with 1233pt
I refreshed, still says I need an A. I've also checked for mistakes, duplicates on my Lickety list. Argh!
very good clue helenkeller! ty i thought i'd tried that
yvw jeff
ugh. my bad. User error. Now I am really truly done. Whew!
sorry vpchat didn't see your clue ty anyway
hurshy, scribble will be home from school anytime now and then she will want my list but I'm going to make her work for it. With just 99 words she can do it.
oo 6/18 there must be a clue somewhere ...
oh, i support this 100%, silent :)
Have a good day to all..... I need to do some house work before hubby gets home. lol
hmm... trying to think of a clue for you for oo6/18 be patient :)
fa 4/7 please i have the cards one and the opp of success
oo 6/18 oo + some babblers live in aust****a
vpchat i will !
vpchat, i got it ty now any clue what it means ? lol
not a clue, jeffer :)
found the fa - last place i looked
oo is spelled wrong.? dictionary.com doesnt recognize Has a word with very similar spelling.
jupiterrising... beware... down that path madness lies waiting to devour innocent babblers
hehe jeffer, course it was, why would you keep looking after you found it?
memmmemennneehaoughaahhnnnnn.
uhoh, methinks the madness got him
(her?)
well, hurshy this is babble - been there done that.
oorali is another name for curare, the arrow poison ..
TOR! (but cool fact)
.. I think ..
tor how did you find that?
yeah tor, i see a couple of sites confirm it when i google the two together
even my favorite alphadictionary.com didn't have it
Google, of course. It's mentioned in a Tennyson poem, "The surgeon and the nurse."
okay but we are overlooking the fact that torgone blatantly used a word
the surgeon and the nurse?
damn it, jim!
Oh for the love of Khan!!!!! Kill me now!! What a dork!!! I'll just go jump out the shuttlecraft bay!! Moron . .
now now tor... we haven't run out of history quite yet (your history, that is)
Then, when I learn to read, I'll give reliable information. The Tennyson poem is "In The Children's Hospital." Moron ..
maybe he should use the oo**** on himself
as a wise captain once said, torgone... "everybody's human"
lol hurshy
My head is full of gh4/7 ..
'Drench’d with the hellish oo6—that ever such things should be! '
tor don't fl 4/9 yourself anymore!
Heya mab! Post more comments So my idiocy falls off the page ...
torgone... gh4/7, or gagh?
hey tor, earlier i accidently typed out one of the words for the puzzle, too...my computer decided that it would type my input in the message box instead of the answer box. grrr
torgone, i discovered once that length doesn't help - it is always 50
in fact, it was gh4/7
Ah yeah, right .. Actually there's au5/18 but air in there ..
tor that posting might draw more attention ...
hurshy
will
try
to
help
poor
torgone
a klingon walks into a bar....
remove
his
shame
yeah, temple?
That's okay guys .. It was an accident .. I forgive myself ..
tor, if you fl4/9 yourself any more, you'll be too ro7/48 for any of us to discern your fa6/33, and I think we can all agree that you ou5/18 not do such a thing.
.... and the barman says "is this some kind of a joke"
temple? joke??
im laughing at everyone!!! rofl!
too bad rofl isn't allowed as a word
whew - I feel soooo much better now that Torgone has fogiven himself! a round of dilithium crystals to all!!
ok, hands if you love the klingon saying "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, prepare to die!"
CAUSE ITS IN THERE!!!
fa6/33?
when a saw "for the love of Khan" i nearly fell out of my chair!!
the holodeck images are a mere fa6/33, torgone (unless maybe we uncouple the heisenberg compensators...!)
tor - the face of a building
Yay, torgone! You forgive yourself!!!! Very self-affirming and healthy.
Tor fa6/33 -->i hope nothing can chip thru your fa6/33, i think what lies beneath might be scary
and now it's gone! :)
the face or front ofa building...I'm being a bit metaphorical. it was a stretch, i know
isn't self forgiveness the first step?
Thanks guys. I'm just compensating for my uncoupled heisenberg ..
heisenberg?
Ah the comedy club is in full swing today! Hi mab and temple!
didn't anybody see that episode? maybe we're all just inside some little yellow cube, sitting on someone's desk...
did someone say comedy club?
i'm not in no cube, i live outside the box!
nut!!!!
What did Captain Picard say when he was a kid and didn't want to go to school?
yeah, well I live outside the bun!
heisenberg?
mabbernarooskitlybop
what tor, what???
nut, please don't put my real name in the log.
"Make it snow."
mab! nut! wassup!
Miss Nutcakes!
i give
er sorry mab...just plain mab...* wink *
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
since leslieann doesn't seem to be here... Wassssuuuupp!!!
LOL tor!
ah Khan, a favorite of mine, indeed, worhty opponent!
chix de clix! 72! reeennnieee - mk - stiltskin!!!!!
nut: what is ur icon?
I see the bus has arrived.....
the one from the sheltered workshop?
72... i think it's captian something or other, in his starship voyaging boxers.
speaking of bad jokes, I can't get the line "I'm a fr6/36 knot" out of my head. bleh!
ok, changed my outfit for the day.
never was much of a trekkie you see
true confessions: I've never seen Star Trek *mamabear ducks so she isn't hit by the lasers*
Wouldn't that kind of underwear give him boxer line when he dons his spandex uniform?
neither have i mamabear.
PHASERS, not lasers
ah, it's from the locutas episode
mama -- gasp!!!
nut --- gasp!!!
Howdy, everbody! Has anyone ever visited the stonetrek web site?
wass -- gasp!!!!
MamaB and Wassup hopelessly stuck in 19th century time warp...
I know..... have led a sheltered life, limited more to the planet of inhabitance....... Pluto.
sorry, helen, kinda remember watching it a bit as a kid, but its left no lasting impression.
Mama - ge4/11!
hey, where'd ren go? i KNOW i saw her!
no...lasting... impression.... *hurshy better leave before she begins to cry*
here....on the phone
i agree hurshy, it's very, very sad :((((
stinking phones
got a call from a skunk, nut?
it's on the game channel now
skunk? skunk? are you saying i stink?
*sacratches head* hmmm, I must be posting in an alternate universe... stonetrek, perhaps?
Ah, what a beautiful day to assimilate a few species!
hurshy, you are crackin me up
don't know if i can cope with all this trekkiness...
this theme has brought out a whole new face of the babblers.
I'm resisting..Aggghhhhh! Deuts ch, stonetrek.com?
*fires modulating frequency phaser beams at douglas*
thought you got a stinking phone call, nut...... what happens when i don't read the whole log!!! Now I see it's Ren on the phone ..... well you get the gist.
I'm going to have to trek to the khan in a minute ..
tor - don't forget to phlush
sorry deutsch, never heard of it, what is there?
NEWSFLASH NEWSFLASH! Evidence suggests that some Babblers may be nerds!
ren, did you say your phone is on the game channel?
Hi chic, Yes, stonetrek.com I think it's hilarius!
just some?
vicuna... yeah.
lLOL vic - yes!
the comparison of intelligent word game players to small fruity candies is highly illogical.
Vicuan........ NERDS?????/ WHERE????? *mamabear looks around room ...... nope, none here!*
exactly what i was think mab! lol
stonetrek? what's stonetrek?
Recent indications suggest a correlation between people who sit at their computers playing games all day, and those with an interest in other nerdly activities...
Does anyone own a flip phone? A guy who watched Star Trek working for Texas Instuments came up with the idea for a cellular phone!
Helen, it's a cross between The Flintstones and Star Trek. It has episodes and a theme song.
got a flip phone.
bleh!!!!!! Confound it! Does anyone have a hint for the ha's?
hmmm, as hubby tends to resemble fred, seems i will have to check it out - after my next 22, that is, thx!
I actually consider Earth: Final Conflict to be closer to reality than Star Trek
reality?? who cares about reality???
both HAs contain a double vowel
Reality is in the mind of the Realtor... I think you have to have a license for that.
Reality is overrated. (Much like sanity.)
I live in banana land where, according to Steve Martin, all chairs are yellow and no chairs are yellow.
exactly, Vicuna!
no matter where you go, there you are
If your chair is yellow, that means you didn't make it to the Khan in time!
Where? Where?
LOL, mamab
hey, can you just walk out and buy tear gas?
the khan is off limits...and out of order
Not in Utah, nut.
Didn't Marshall McLuhan say that, Ren?
what about in california?
Duke, Duke, Duke...
i think so chic...along w/ life is a chair of bowlies?
I'm sure you must be able to procure it on line, in addition to directions for building your own atom bomb. What mayhem did you have in mind, evano, and will Babblers get fair warning?
Oh, in California they have stands on every corner!!!!
thanks vp!
duke of earl, duke, duke, duke of earl, duke, duke, duke of earl, duke, duke.....
or is that nut is a chair of bowlies?
i thought mary engelbreit made up life is like a chair of bowlies... maybe she just copied it
no, no, just something i have here at work, and i was wondering how the fellow had possession of tear gas in the first place.
If you never dropped acid and watched an original Star Trek show, well then, what can I say?
De-o! Deee-o
i've been sitting here trying almost every combination of letters that add up to 8 and 5, but I guess I didn't try the double vowels (although I thought I did)...
no ren, nut is a bowl of cherries
who knows......
ah - it's happy hour in babbleland....
a bowl of cherries is the pitts
come de light an i wanna go home
hairy pits
no, who's on first.
where are the other villians?????
why is there air?
Do any of you know anyone who claims to have been abducted by aliens?
Deutsch is a villain, Ren....
that guy from independance day was abducted
Why do I have black and blue marks on my arms that I can't account for?
half of my icon is a pseudo-villain...he's not really so bad...
i saw her and now i don;t see her.....the white side must be facing the chat log
That's right, I'm two villians in one!
As I walk through this world Nothing can stop the duke of earl
I love Q, Hurshy!
most of my patients thought they were abducted. Also that they were messiahs.
douglas - does it have to have been an abduction, or could it be a friendly bring-along to a vacation timeshare on risa?
mab - are you a therapist? what kind?
two - two - two villains in one!
Lasers aiming at mamabear for protocol violation...the collective is engaging in an exhaustive search...I believe you humans refer to it as "monkey typing"
Deutsch, you're reminding me of black and white cookies and I'm hungry for sweets.
mab, i could use a therapist - it all started when i found this word game website.
Helen, that's 5 pts. deducted for inappropriate question!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...black and whites.....
therapist??? Where??? *mamabear jumps on couch and starts spouting life story*
As long as the five points weren't ABducted...
I am missing the very last al 5 and cannot see it, anyone have a clue?
The subject of our buddy icons would suggest that there is some alien advertising going on...
uh - oh, a protocol breech? by me? hmmmm
I'm out of the biz.
wait, i forgot, i'm dr. nut - scribbles notes on mama bed wetting issues.
lasers??? pointed at me?????? *hides behind telephone pole*
Mab, I'm sure I have b /w cookies somewhere in my treasure trove of b/w stuff. *rummages around* Ah, yes, *blows on cookied to remove lint* Here you go, mab!
Nat, are you serious?
all those who have been abducted by aliens please raise hands
last al - al + third vowel + short affirmative
me too mab! for a long time now, but many interesting memories
yeah chic, I am sure it is one of those that is super simple
Me! me! I want to go!
welll so do i; but i want to know who has already gone!
thanks a bunch
Oh, yeah, like that's a word I use everyday...
not me - they can keep them probes to themselves
*puts the plate out in Babble Land* Help yourselves, everyone!
Ok Nat, al plus third vowel and "what's it to **"
'!!', ! ! ___/**| - - -
???
where are we going? I missed it... was busy raising my hand..... (yes that's what I drew - stop laughing!!! I am no EB!)
engaging cloaking device and going to read a legal brief...bbl
again, abduction, no, but companionable trips are something else altogether. i mean if the deltans have an extra cabin and they're offering a ride, who's not going to take it?
GEEKS, EVERYONE OF YOU, GEEKS
Thank you.
T'Pau asked Spock in the TOS episode "Amok Time," "Are **** Vulcan, or are **** human?"
i resent that, evan: i took the test and i am a nerd not a geek; there's a difference
I don't fly south for the winter, so I'm no geek! LOL
Sorry in advance, nut, but look who's talking!
douglas! that was the very first episode i ever saw, as a lass of seven... took me a while to understand that spock was a good guy.
i'm a higher class of geek!! ;-)
T'was never a geek nor nerd til I met YOU people!!!!!!
*looks around to see to whom mama's speaking*
I'm a DORK. Not a geek or nerd. VERY different.
I've heard that Earth's section of the galaxy, a place referred to by your astronomers as the Local Fluff in the Orion Arm, is quite inhabited...
what people? i though we were all trekkies today
not a geek.... but have been known to imbibe on geek wine occasionally ... goes well with saganaki
speaking of drinking, who wants some romulan ale?
Morning/Evening all!! MAMA!! Chic, 'nut, temple et al!! you are all here!
Hi mrp!
just realized that ren was going to read a legal brief, is that like reading under wear? or are there illegal briefs, you know, like thongs.
I need a drink after all this laughing!
Hi mrp.
helloooo mr. president - a very appropriate icon for you :)
(((mrp)))
*pours chic some romulan ale*
hi mrp! warning...you are entering dangerous territory.
Spock was such a great character, the creators decided to do a variation on that theme in the character of Data in TNG
mr. p! i was stuck in a meeting for nearly 6 hours yesterday, and they kept talking about you - MRP! i giggled every time!
and I'm back once again
(((((((((Mrp)))))))))))))))))) ))))
right doug, and another variation with seven
Hi faerie!
oooooh faerie - orion slave girl, verrry sexy!
{{{{{{{MAMABEAR}}}}}}}
Deutchs - are you still hearing the chainsaw???
On the other hand, perhaps the character of Spock was a big commercial for human-alien interbreeding...somebody put down a towel
Well Thank you Helen :)
thanks, hurshy, *smacks lips loudly*
Mama did you get Mikey straightened out?
There was a word from the SNL "word association" sketch with Chevy Chase and Richard Pryor in the grid.
Was Mikey bent?
a towel? you do know spock was a test tube baby don't you?
No, I took a break to out and talk to the neighbors. They were just trimming. they were pretty tickled when I told them I had just watched TCM!
sooooo. why is it that spock has pointy ears?? I heard his mom used to give him a bath and hang him on the clothesline to dry, pinned by his hearing devices.... poor guy
doug - what? the honkey-whitey thing?
oh it is jokes now!! free for all!
Affirmative
rofl mama!!!
Deutsch that had to be funny. They are probably talking about you right now and laughing....LOL
i though spock was a tall elf
yeah, faerie..... he's all ironed out!!1 He's just fine! Was no problem to begin with!!!!
mama - amanda would NEVER do that!!!!
Hi MrP :)
Hi Evan :)
We don't really encourage people to date outside their...species
thats good.
faerie - is that you, my but you look sinister! ;-)
Too late, Douglas!!!!!
douglas! *hurshy is shocked* IDIC!!!
Top 10 Signs You've Watched Too Much Star Trek: 10) You send weekly love letters to the actress who played the Green Skinned Orion Slave Girl in episode number 7. 9) You pull the legs off your hamster so you'll have a tribble. 8) You tried to join the Navy just so you could serve aboard the Enterprise. 7) Your wife left you because you wanted her to dress like a Klingon and torture you for information. 6) You went to San Francisco to see if you might bump into Kirk and crew while they were in the 20th Century looking for a whale. 5) Your college thesis was a Comparison of the Illustrious Careers of T.J. Hooker and Captain Kirk. 4) You fly into a homicidal rage anytime people say "Star Trek? Isn't that the one with Luke Skywalker?" 3) You have no life. 2) You recognize more than 4 references on this list. 1) You join NASA, hijack a shuttle, and head for the coordinates you calculated for the planet Vulcan.
Speaking of elfs..... there is a big sign by a storage facility near my house and the "S" fell off so now it says " elf Storage"...... makes me laugh every day!!!!!
I hope they are. It's a funny story and wild coincidence! Well, gotta go! *zips off in shuttle* Live well and prosper!
bye deutsch
Later Deutsch :p
nanoo nanoo, Deutsch!
That's a good one Mrp!!!!
bye, deutsch!
MrP that is excellent *bravo*
hi kids.
that is funny mrp
mrp - I confessed before I've never seen Star Trek..... was pummeled with asteroids.
boreetos! just in time for happy hour!
hello faerie, bye deutch!!
Boreetos Hello
boreeeeeetoes!!!!!!!!
Ours is a mixed relationship...I'm human; he's Vulcan, I kid you not. We complement each other well, though...most of the time;)
well - i am off to home and lawn mowing! BBL to finish!
Captain's log... 27.3 rounded off to the nearest decimal point...we've...traveled back in time...to save an ancient species from total annihilation...SO FAR...no sign of intelligent life...but we...will..find it..We've...GOT TO MISTER!
Temple, pretend it is Christmas and ..... let it grow, let it grow, let it grow!!!!!
ROFL
It should be noted that there were two different green skinned slave girls in TOS. The one in faeriekin's icon was the one who got blooed up real good by the explosive created by the insane Captain Garth in "Whom Gods Destroy." The other one was an attempt by the girl on Talos 4 to get Christopher Pike to get with the program of living in a Talosian zoo in the episode "Where No Man Has Gone Before." I hope that clarified things.
did people not know that??
like butter, Douglas......
Excuse me, blewed up real good
WHAT------i got blown up :(
need a clue for fa5/22 please
wait... there were "blow up girls" in Star Trek????? Must be the after hours version, huh?
I think he said bloooed up
then does that mean people also don't know that vulcan blood is copper based and that spock and his father share the rare blood type T-negative?
LOL mama!!
rosalind...it's a homonym for a word that means "to lose color"
no, no nerds here, nope
what's a vulcan? also, what is the af4?
rosalind, just like a fr**** knot, only no r
Garth put a tiny amount of the explosive in her necklace, and then dragged her outside of the asylum dome, where she was dying slowly from the poisonous atmosphere. Garth said "Poor child. I will help her. Now." He then pushed a button on some control device that detonated the explosive with a most impressive ka-thwoom.
T Negative??????? What????? I'M T NEGATIVE!!!!!!! *thinking back to what I was told is my family history and starting to wonder........*
ok - christopher pike is the original captain?
well, in what sense, temple? he was in the original pilot, but was not the first captain of the enterprise no matter how you slice it.
i thought that Scott Bakula was the original captain.
borreto -af4 - thnk away, a long distance
seriously, af4? oooh and vu4 too? please?! :)
thanks da-late-eight! (dl88)
af 4/7 a long way
sigh. well, it was pretty well established that the name of the first captain was robert april and that james t. kirk's father was his first officer, but when they created enterprise they ignored all that and made jonathan archer. one could argue that as that was an NX, perhaps april was the first capt of an NCC-1701
yw and the vu + letters 7 & 8
DOOOOOwWHHEEEEEEEEET! I finished the puzzle!
I need to take advantage of this incredible oregon weather and get my butt outside. See you guys later.
Pike wasn't the first captain. Robert April was, and the episode I titled as "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was actually "The Menagerie" I shall have to take that data retrieval error up with the collective...
bye wassup! thanks dl88!!
benda gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
CONGRATULATIONS BENDAMLINA!!!!!!!
for vu... v + a sound of disgust
woot benda!!!
mamabear's icon is from "where no man has gone before", douglas. i like you, douglas.
thank you thank you. anyone need any hints?
good on ya, bendamalina! Oh, you mean people try to find words here?
Hurshy and Douglas are refering to their "Complete Compedium of Chronological History of Star Trek and all things related"
I am? I mean, it is? I mean..... wow..... I thought it was just a guy with a big gun!!!
someone just got promoted to captain! and that someone is you! "Number one, I want a fifth of vodka, a half gallon of Fudge Ripple, and Commander Troy in my quarters at once... Make it so."
I thought something was amiss there...
*hurshy is indignant* everything i just said came right out of my memory!
LOL boree
bwahahahaha sure it did, hurshy
honest! i swear by the sacred chalice of rixx!
I believe you, hurshy
Staggered over the line at last waving white flag!
hey, i got fireworks. that's awesome.
i knew i liked you, douglas. sorry about the modulating phasers before.
ahhhh hurshy and douglas made a connection...that's sweet. :) I call it: love, the final frontier.
considering I don't know what the sacred malice of twixx is, I guess I believe you, too
*^*^*^*^*FIREWORKS*^*^*^*^*^* for spellit!!!!!!
set phasers to stun
Bend how about the pi 5/14 please.
a borg, a q, and a klingon? it would never work.
hey im missing a ge. ive got the sprockety cog one and the one that is spelled like one of the 7 sins without the r. what 's the third one?
I think it's a candy bar, bendamalina
Congrats Spellit !!!!
yay to the finishers! c u later!
spellit gets *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~*
\thats me finished thanks for the clues Tndaisy1960
The collective notices spellit as worthy of assimilation...
bye temple!!
ge 4/11 boreetos, i can't believe you can't find it!
Bye TO
*waves to Temple* later, hon!
pi 5/15 is the constant used to find the circumference of a circle given its radius + the unit of measurement for heat (or for the amount of energy in food)
just checked to see what tomorrow's theme is..... *rubs hands together........*
I am with hurshy, boreetos. Ge**, i can't believe you don't see it
thanks hurshy, nice clue by the way. I had no idea that was a real word. :) yeah Jon Archer is made up. he leaped in from some other show, was like "Oh boy" and then found himself captain of a friggin starship. poser.
the other ge is a word of exasperation
ge 4/11!!!!! I still have 59 words left to find... what the heck have I been doing all this time?????????
there is going to be a 40th anniversary st convention in rosemont in september and i've decided that i'm going - a birthday present to myself!
i got to go kids, I'll see you all tomorrow. Rare Friday babbling!!! Woot. of course that means that I have to work tomorrow, and that sucks, but I least I get to babble. :)

buh bye boreetos
Later Boreetos
later, 'reetos!!!!!!! Have a good nite!!!!
well i LIKE archer... i just wish they would pay a little more attention to well established history. and i was absolutely moved to tears by the ending of the finale of enterprise.
See ya, boreetos
mrp - I am at work - I can't IM here!!!!!!
Ok baby! I will chat with you on email!!
Yeah Hurshy...I sat there and bawled when they lost the baby:(
Your world is being "visited" by several alien races and be several different organizations of races. What do they want? Pork rinds!
oh, the baby... well... sure... but i meant when they had the various captains' voiceovers all put together...
OK mrp!!!! *clicking on get message repeatedly*
Douglas! With ketchup!!
Still looking for the pi 6/24 pretty please *again*
found it. Thanks anyway.
Ok faere...gimme a clue for it then...pls?
This has been actively going on for some time, ever since the cultivation of the jalapeno pepper.
pi 5/14 = pi 4/6 +a consonant
sorry i didn't give you a good hint, faerie
i don't think any hints BUT the star trek one should be allowed for pi 6/24.
pi 6/24 the Commander on USS Enterprise (New treK) change last vOwel.
good girl, faerie :)
Bend - I see that I actually ask for the wrong word...not your fault at all.
(*^_^*) See Hurshy - I catch on real quick.
oh! 6/24..i see...yeah, that hint definately wouldn't have worked.
Well, I learned something today...
and pray tell, what did you learn, locutus?
Douglas - and what did you learn today?
heh heh, a pi6/24 is somewhat of a ro5/18 charachter
There have been visitations throughout human history, but nothing of this magnitude. Oh yeah, Pharaoh just woke up one morning and said "Ahma build me a pyramid!"
LOL douglas!
I had never seen the pi 6/24 word before...
LOLOLOL
Neither had I!!!
Well, all, i'm off. been a blast today! bye bye
We're ALL off, benda!!!!! Have a good nite!
See ya Bend have a good evening :)
if we had seen every word babble throws at us, we would be weirder than we are, which is logically impossible, as i could prove to you if i had a chalkboard handy to work out the limit of weirdness
The advent of nuclear weapons and the destruction of your natural world have brought these forces to your shores. They saw "The Day After" and "The Day After Tomorrow."
(actually, i should go as i can see I'm going to get too much of a chuckle out of making sentences out of the wordlist, and I'm sure no one wants THAT kind of geekiness on this board. also, i'm having dinner with my parents)
LOL Bend
It is, after all, difficult to detonate a nuclear device without drawing attention to one's self...
you don't think that was our way of saying "hi there!" to the people of hiroshima and nagasaki?
boy I feel like I 'dropped in' on a very serious conversation.
1j2u3d4y - Very serious....just listen....Trekies are rumbling about something.
It was our way of saying "We strongly urge that you surrender" to the Empire of Japan. On further review, there were members of the Japanese military who opposed surrender even after Nagasaki.
if you can't stand the heat, beam off of vulcan! (just kidding, of course)
Oh, hello 1j2u3d4y
uncloaking...what the heck!!!!
Hi Ren
Hello renfield, I'm just saying you can't detonate nuclear devices without people in the neighborhood taking notice.
what are you what the hecking about, ren?
hey faerie
Hello, Douglas
and I'M just turning everything into a joke and/or star trek reference!
Douglas - very true. Hard to go unnoticed for sure.
lol douglas...yes...it would be hard to miss! looked like i stepped into a nuclear holocaust hurshy!
renny, did you enjoy your legal underwear?
*sings* whose underwear is under there? fruit of the loom, cause it fits! (as if other brands of underwear only come in size 1701.)
always do nut.....love that seal of approval!
frankly, i'd want to look over illegal briefs, bet they are fantabulous.
finally done!
Douglas, and now we face what will be done with Iran. Have you read the Seymour Hersh piece in the New Yorker?
nut...they do have the ability to cause heart failure
Pike **** the green slave girl with more than a twinge of excitement...
oh, mab, is it readable online for free? i just read chain of command...
I knew a boxer who wore briefs, but only briefly as he was boxing and briefly lost his boxers as his boxing buddy pulled them off.... briefly speaking.
Four words left...all F words...and if I don't find them...well...I'd better stop now b4 I get thrown out an airlock
Is anyone else having problems with the OF 4/9 word? Help please!
well ren, if you ever do come across illegal briefs, let me have a peek will you? * looks hopeful *
I don't know. The NYer has an online version, but with limited offerings.
I haven't read the Seymour Hersh article. What did he say?
of 4/9 = o + ***e dunaway
that was a brief boxing match mama
fo6, 39 fr4,7 fr5,16 fr6,36
what issue, mab? maybe i'll pop down to the library and have a look.
fo 6/39 = f + ou 5/18
I just got an fo 5/20, but that's not what you want...
is the V used more than once, does anybody know?
fr 4/7 = f + norma ***
Thank you, thank you! Bells and whistles. it was the only one I was still missing!
evening
17 April 2006. I wish I had a way of scanning it and sending it to you, but I don't. It's a deeply disturbing article.
fr 5/16 = f + ra 4/4 (2nd one)
v(ger) just used once, shutterbug
It is irrelevant to argue with the ENABLE dictionary...
lol hursh - cute reference
everything seymour hersch writes is deeply disturbing...
what does the ger mean?
for your purposes, nothing, shutterbug
fr 6/36 = past tense of fr 4/9 -or- f + ra 5/16
Thanks.
The (ger) was a reference to Star Trek: The Motion Picture
hurshy=meanie - you must now explain your reference - gl
He's brilliant, honest, and old enough to have dozens of utteraly unassailable (sp) sources.
Oh, okay, that means nothing to me, like hurshy said.
a) i wasn't being mean, i just didn't want to bore non-fans b) that is WHY what he writes is disturbing, mab - cause you know it's true!
shutter - do you mean to say that you've never seen the star trek movie - the first one?
For reasons I don't understand, the odd numbered Star Trek movies were of inferior quality to the even numbered ones. I think that's why they stopped putting numbers on them after a while, so that Trekkies wouldn't say "Dude, it's an odd numbered one, that means it's gonna suck!"
a full ten minutes of which could be cut with no loss whatsoever?
Oh yes, I assumed that was what you meant, hursy.
No, I have never seen it. I dont watch movies except for once in a while.
i make it a habit to read nothing disturbing - exept this log.
I mean once in a GREAT while.
didn't work though douglas - we keep track of whether it's odd or even anyway :) ...yeah insurrection was the first really good odd one
Oh, nut, I loved 10 and eager to read more -- it's like good medicine.
Finding an r5 word could be difficult...
what...?? No "afro"????
angela - who dyed your tribble???
mab - it's so true, i love feel good reading, you'll have to try a grrl genius book when your done with evanovich.
paul mitchell
lol
It is irrelevant to argue with the ENABLE dictionary, angela. They have no words in my native language of assembly
All of this star trek stuff is making me want to watch it. I think I stopped watching before the new generation, and I saw only one movie with the old guys.
at least you knew what it was though Hursh - not cotton candy or something... :)
that is one freaky looking tribble though. mab - come on over!!!! :)
That's it Douglas! English is Disable's second language!
I know Doug, but I am still amazed occaisionally...
on a completely unrelated topic, who thinks hungry, hungry hippos was the best game ever created (outside of babble)
I agree Hursh. :) I figured you guys would know what it was though, no matter how odd looking.
If they made more episodes like "The Trouble With Tribbles," and less of those stupid, third-season "monster-of-the-week" episodes, TOS might have lasted longer.
disagree, politely.
I thought it was an ottoman.
not me, looks like a pound of ground meat
lol lol lol
looks like a stomach
HIAll!!, help with the two ac words please
okeedokee then
but angela, why did you pick it when there are plenty of pics of normal tribbles to choose from?
How base of you to ask for help on the ac words, periwinkle!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow; I think my poor brain is sure to blow... TY for the clues! I'm DONE! *sticks fork in self to see if truly done*
Hi periwinke. ****reflux
peri - in the 60's & 70's people dropped ac to get high
uh..."normal" tribbles???
at leaste it is an eclectic tribble angela
peri...ac words are not alkaline
lol douglas
brb
Thanks Ren :)
dl88 and Cobra, thanks, just couldn't see those two
(shhhhh, Angela - hurshy thinks their real)
* eyes glaze over * what is a tribble?
(they're)
Oh, nut, not even the tribble episode? And I thought I was popular culture-deprived.
nut - you aren't serious are you?? Only the cutest little troublemakers in the universe :)
oops! late for dinner - gotta run Later taters!
having trouble with the AL words, only have the al4
guys, it's star trek - i mean, really....;-)
Congratulations to tndaisy1960! Would you be interested in joining the collective? There are health care benefits, plenty of company, races to assimilate...
imagine, nut, stephanie pinned to the ground being humped by powder puffs instead of a pack of mutts.
I already joined! Can't you hear my thoughts?? *thinks louder*
Angela - looks like a crab on steroids! psssstttt..... what's a tribble?
daisy, you might enjoy a song i wrote one thanksgiving: a mighty forkful in my hand of turkey never quailing our shelter he amid the land of vegetables prevailing the squash we can endure with peas our doom is sure one little pea is daunting did we in our own strength confide our striving would be losing were not one factor on our side that we our belts are loosing dost ask why that may be? it was that fateful pea! fore'er 'twill us be haunting
MAB! i can't believe you said that@!
fa6/33?
lol That's neat Hurshy:) looks like I"m not the only one getting poetic today, or trying to anyway.
like a space bunny rabbit mama...they just keep mutiplying..only i'm not sure it you can tell which is front or back
Reminds of that little bit in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where telepathy is described as the worst social disease a species can have...
peri! al + ca4 then extend of that for another 2 words
peri past tense the fl4/9
cant tell front from back? i'm a tribble!
bye all! time to take the kiddies out! ciao!
thanks mrp
Lovely, hurshy, but, mmmm, relevance? Welcome indeed tndaisy!!!
mab - daisy adapted the doxology... so i thought she might like my adapted hymn. :)
later mrp
i also did a potato one called "how whipped thou art"
bye mrp
Bye mrp!
Va bien, mrpresident
rennie - how do they multiply if they can't tell front from back???? poor things
For all you remaining strugglers out there: My eyes are tired, My head is splitting Can't find these words, Feel like quitting. But the power of Babble Enrushes me on, And I shall not quit Until I'm done!
i think they must touch fur and bingo!
mama - they reproduce asexually if they eat... they don't need food otherwise (i know, i know, violates the basic biology definition of life, but whatever)
I still think it looks like a crab on steroids.
bet they got std's then
fa6/33 anyone?
peri...the front of a building is its...
Oh, I see hurshy. (frantically fl4s through dictionary for 'doxology.'
so what exactly does a tribble do for fun?
fa6 is the front of a building
tndaisy, thanks so much
mab, it's just a little christian ditty... "praise God from whom all blessings flow, praise him all creatures here below, praise him above ye heavenly host, praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost" (amen optional). we sing it a lot.
well mama, they enjoy being cuddled. but not by klingons.
Ok. with ya. (looked up 'doxology')
I'm having a ball, but my eyes really are tired, so I'll step out for a bit and water the plants. I'll come back if he's not home and give more clues. Might as well be useful as well as ornamental:) bbs
fa5/24 anyone?
all done, finished at last
*^*^*^*^*FIREWORKS*^*^*^*^*^* for scatty!!!!!!
Yah, we have something similiar, but without the ghost and messiah parts.
Yay Scatty!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah...i've heard it...i think...
Letters smashing 'gainst each other Friends and brothers, but not lovers Loads of words I've never seen, Served up in a hot tureen Prefix, suffix, palindrome I really should be going home But the common kind of rabble Are not the people you're most likely to meet when you engage in a bit of Babble!
fo7/52?
makes me wonder, was there a church on the enterprise, or chapel?
fo 7 is past tense of 5 above
nevermind, found the fo7/52 myself
yes nut, didn't you see the episode that began with a wedding in the chapel which was interrupted by a red alert... i think it was balance of power... and then the groom died and it was very sad. bathrooms, no...chapel, yes...
and, LOL, of course there was also nurse chapel. hehehe
no bathrooms! - but, how?
bathrooms, no....... khan, yes!!!!! Bravo, Douglas!!!!!!!!!
nice, douglas, although you could work on the meter in that last line...
That was a chapel? If so, it's got to be one of the lamest chapels I've ever seen. It looked more like just another meeting room to me.
nobody knows, nut, not even the Great Bird of the Galaxy - or if he does, it's a secret he took with him to the grave
yes, douglas - it was decorated in the style i believe is generally known as "starfleet ugly".
but all those women, where did they go to gab about those guys in the tight uniforms?
the khan just emptied on mama's head.....:-}
The total violation of the meter on the final line is a valentine to Ogden Nash, who used that device to great comedic effect.
mmm... just their quarters, i guess.
oh, i see douglas. apologies to you and mr. nash
another thing, where did they get the water and food from?
Time for me to go where no man has ever gone.... or, home, depends on which route I take!!!!! Now where did my laser gun go...... ah... there it is..... Ta Ta!!!!!
The amount of energy expended by Trekkies complaining about the lame production values of TOS could easily power a trip to Alpha Centauri and back. But then, on the other hand, people complained about the "sanitized" TNG. I bet they had a Brawny Man program in the Holodeck...
later mama....
Nut - think "gilligan's island".... same theory
nut - replicators. they were able to convert forms of matter.
yes, but i LIKE gilligans island, we should have a gilligans island themed day.
bye-bye mama :)
evening all
balance of TERROR, not power, excuse me.
TTFN, mama
just sit right back and you'll hear a tale....
I second that, nut!!!!!! We'll have to request that.... now really going.... whoooooossssshhhhhhhh.... off to the batcave!!!!!!
guess they both are sort of lost ships
dl88.....awwwww man..... why did I HAVE to see that??? ... a tale of a fateful trip....... (can't resist a song)
voyager is much more akin to gilligan's island than any of the other ST series.
janeway's quadrant, they could have called it
Since I'm more than halfway to halfway, I'm going to regenerate and attack the puzzle again later. Bye all! You were excellent company!
sorry MB, just had too. now try to get rid of it!
....that started from this tropic port, aboard this tiny ship...... ( no chance, dl88)
resist, resist..... I'm ok now..... buh bye
Bye Douglas, bye mamabear.
mama... don't you know resistance is futile?
The mate was a mighty sailin' man, the skipper brave and sure.
Five passengers set sail that day, for a three hour tour, a three hour tour……… and on that I depart, coconuts & dilithium crystals to ALL!
sigh... well i'm awfully sorry i haven't seen ch1212... but i too weary of sitting at the computer and need some dinner. later folks.
bye doug, bye hurshy
bye helen :) go pro :)
Evening all! Isn't this a FUN one today? I think it might be time for Lickety's list...
:) i'm thinkin on it
Bye hurshy.
ou5/18 anyone?
It's something you ou--- to know:) j/k
nevermind
where can i find the list for the icon themes?
Themes http://p105.ezboard.com/fbabbl ersanonymousfrm10.showMessage? topicID=11.topic
helenkeller, if you are asking about icon themes, does that mean you're going pro?
and I'm back again for the 10th time today and this time I am going to finish this grid.
Hi Vicuan :)
Helen and Daisy, you can also go to Lickety's Babble Clues (link at right) or to Babbler's profile, listed in the rankings.
Hello, faeriekae! Hello, all!
vic - i am thinking seriously about it, but afraid i will turn into more of an addict than i am now
Doesn't anyone remember the episode with the cosmic vicunas who dispensed the wisdom of the universe?
Helen...it'll happen...but LET it! Come! Join our collective! Resistence is futile!
kumquat? you still there? i see no-one noticed your entrance - a rare thing - only happens when star-trek is the theme welcome
Helen you may as well just go for it your all ready an addict like the rest of us.
That's true, hk. You wouldn't want to end up like faeriekae! (Just joking, faerie!)
LOL daisy!!!
Hey now Vic - I'm not the only one not addicted. I can anytime I want. *as soon as the last word is entered for the day*
oh wait - I'm not addicted really....
Shurrr Farie...shure...
No, no. None of us is addicted. Of course not. Absolutely not even remotely.
Daisy it's true - I can quit anytime - really - just watch. I need 5 more words and then I'll quit. You'll see.
Finally! Done.
LMAO!! That's what I THOUGHT!
LOL faerie & vic - yeah, i soooooo see what you mean, lol
21 gun salute for COBRA!
Congrats, CobraLimes!
Hurrah CobraLimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you. Just when I thought I wouldn't get the last word, I said 'oh ****' and there it was. (well, not really)
thanks guys - catch you all later - live long & prosper !!!!!
Congratulations Cobra!!!
Goodbye, helenk!
See Ya Tomorrow Helen :)
Thank you all again. 'Tis a far cheaper way of spending time than shopping.
Cobra - I do both. *teehee*
Shucks I'm missing a "p" word. Gotta figure out which one. Gone to look at Licketys list brb
And found it and done...ta da!!
YAYYYY FAERIE!
good night to all and I'll see you tomorrow
Yippee for faeriekae!
Thank you, thank you very much.
Need clues before I leave?
Congratulations, Faeriekae!
I'll stick around for a few also, to clue...but my clues kinda suck, so be warned:)
hey everyone...meet my new baby. his name is brady (after the new england patriots' tom brady) he was rescued today after being mauled by a dog.
Thanks BGL - how are you doing with this god awful grid this evening?
Let's do a little contest. You can each give me a clue for the fa5/22, and we'll see which clue is worst! :)
Ohhhh! Cliffy! How sweet he is!
Cliff - Brandy is adorable :)
19 words to go. But I have to take a Survivor break sson...
could i get a clue for the al7 - both of em. Cannae see them at all! thanks
fa + sometimes vowel + 2nd vowel + d
Cute as a tribble, cliffy!
Sandr do you have the al 6/14?
there are three al's that are variations of sp. of each other... be creative!
Well, faeriekae, that was pretty clear. We'll see whether tndaisy can do worse.
LOL
he is only 8 weeks old. most of his underside is chewed up. and the back part of his ears. plus his left eye is injured :(
fa 5, musical note + expression of disgust :)
(Thanks, by the way!)
yw
no faerie - i have a 6/24 a 5/14 and the 4/7
oh, cliffopa, he is precious!
Cliffy...I hope he'll make it ok...sounds kinda bad...
Sandr al 7 take your 6/24 and stick the 3rd vowel just before the d
okay, back to work (just wanted to see my tribble tribute on screen)
Sandr - then for the next al 7 take the al before it and chande the i to the sometimes vowel
Cliff that is so sad. Lots of TCL and he'll be just fine.
got em. thanks v much faerie
Hi Leslie :)
he is going to be okay. my vet called me to ask if i would take him on because i have a lot of experience with rehabilitating felines (mostly older ones) he will need pain medication and antibiotics for a while, but he is already playing with some yarn :)
SLIFFYYYYER I MEAN CLIFFY!
cliff is he a foster kid or are you going to keep him?
Cliff - that is soooo nice. You are a good kitty mommy.
just read back cliffy - that's wonderful that you can save that little guy. he's cuter than socks on a chicken.
about to start tonight's grid...hopefully i'll have better luck than last night. got down to 9 words left, and my wireless connection froze up!
Sandr - your welcome - ask and ye shall receive :)
i am going to keep him. i always end up adopting my foster kittys. nutttyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! !!!!!!!!!!!! what do you think of my new little guy?
i'm in love with him!
Hi ya Featherbee - sorry to hear you came so close. That is terrible. Maybe tonight will be better for you then.
thanks! *crosses fingers*
i think brady is going to be a babbler. he is on my desk staring up at the screen - i think he wants to say something.
Cliff my niece works for at a doctors office and was leaving for lunch one day and a crow had a baby kitty tearing it up and she rescued it took in and the dr. gave it stiches. Removed 1 eye and he is just as fisty and sweet as can be. You would never know that he nearly lost his life to a stupid crow.
hi all! finished earlier, will be in and out as dinner, homework etc interfere. So if I beam out unexpectedly -- and reappear in a new place and time, you'll know why!
Ok I gotta get some dinner myself so I'll catch you all tomorrow. Hi and Bye Stid :)
faerie - there is a special place in heaven for your niece.
Refresh and you can see my "baby":) His name is Slim, he's 7 years old, and spoilt rotten!

can I jump in? missy just change the last vowel to another
tndaisy - i love the name. does he wear a cowboy hat and carry a pistol?
lol No guns in the house at the moment! He's too lazy to shoot anything anyway!
missyem -- use a different vowel at the end.
Hi guys -- just logged in about 20 minutes ago--at the point where I can't believe there are still 37 words out there!
my big himalayan took one look at brady and fell asleep. but my other cat, zoey, is in heaven. she thinks brady is her baby!

One of my favourite fishes (to eat) is not valid?!!!
I only beg when I am desperate. Just the one to go, I need an fo6/39 to finish, please very nicely

Oh, of course cybernan, what a twit I am. thank you That's me done for today
could I have a clue for the last a in the second row, please?
al5/14 = ac4/6 with an extra consonant
featherbee, i really struggled today as well, looked at the grid and walked away

ExWren, have that one, need the last al5

ExWren, just found it by monkeytyping, may I have a clue for the ha4/8 it is my last word
peri. ha4/8 has double vowel in middle
ExWren, thought it had a double vowel and just found the right combination after a bit of monkeytyping. Thanks for your help. I am done, this was a hard one for me. Lots of odd words.

great got that one tx
Time for a supper break!
night Exwren
hello everyone! I am here to finish my last four words. They are torturing me for sure!
bbnaz, lets have them then
bbnaz, which ines are you stuck on
AL 5,14 (the last one) AF 6,30 FA 5,21 (next to last 5) OF 4,9
af6/30 scared
TYVM Tabby!
bbnaz - al+3rd vowel+second to last letter in alphabet+first letter
bbnaz - af6, scared, frightened
AL7 x 2 - can't find either one!
merci Scatty. I was monkey typing it when your clue came through!
bbnaz fa5/21 - fa+last vowel+next two letters that follow f in the alphabet
take the AL6 before it and insert the third vowel so it is the the third letter from the end.
bbnaz - of4/9 - of + 1st vowel + second to last letter in alphabet
and then instead of the third vowel use the sometimes vowel...........and voila! you have your AL 7s if you don't have the AL6 immediate preceeding it,, then AL + third alpha letter + first vowel + fourth alpha letter + second vowel
Goodness Scatty, I don't think that I would have come up with that..........thanks!
YAY perimwinkle!
bbnaz did you get all the clues
thanks - odd alternate spellings! I thought I'd tried them all before
hi all, i'm back...
Hi stid, that was a short break
or have i been sitting here too long
Hot Diggity! Done and much thanks Scatty! And Tabby! Hello Stid! Congrats Peri doing the happy done dance today. Anybody know if DrG resolved the danish copycat?
yes, well Grant and I are sitting here eating stew and bannock, waiting for the others to get home.
well done bbnaz, feels good doesn't it
YAY bbnaz!
stid, what is bannock
don't know about the danish thing, but how is your mare today?
well good nite-this game is too compelling-must thank a friend for telling me about it-though i`m spending more time looking for words than work around here-70 words no winner but enjoyed it-ta ta
bannock -- fry bread like biscuits only fried up instead of baked.
good night majmom -- see you tomorrow!
maj, 70 is a good number, the grid was quite hard today
stid, sounds nice, i'm hungry now
She got her staples out today. Her baby was feeling so good that whilst walking mum, baby kicked me! felt like a 5yo boy punching me but it wasn't done out of spite. she just felt really good and I was in range when she leaped into the air!
feel free to drop by, scatty! with two boys in the house, I _always_ make extra! :-)
so glad she's mending well -- and that her baby is feeling so frisky (my dog does the same sort of thing to me...)
stid, if only i didn't live on an island, plus a few thousand miles away might heve something to do with it
right, i'm off to bed, have a hospital app at nine in the morning, have to get up early, have a good night, see you all tomorrow, nighty night
All in all a really good day! Got all but four words done this morning prior to taking off and with help from the wizards, I am finished. Soon I hope to make all three lists, which along with a buck will get me a cup of java at Einstein's!
Scatty, where in the UK are you?
near Oxford
well -- that's true. Tell you what -- the recipe I use for bannock is really simple. The trick is to have the oil nice and hot, and at least 1/4 " deep. I'll go post it at Babbler's anon.
my niece went to school there for a year. she loved it. go to bed, best wishes on your appt tomorrow and will chat more later. THanks again very much for your final push!
good night scatty! hope tomorrow goes well for you.
i've been online since 1996 and it still blows my mind that i can be sitting here in NC, USA and watching a conversation with people all over the world.
i'm such a dork :)
guigrrl -- don't think so!
Okay, back from my Survivor break... 13 words to go!
okay off to help with homework. see you at the flip!
guigrrl -- that's part of the magic of being 'here' now! Some of my best friends are hundreds and thousands of mles away...
good one, huh bgl?
later, bbnaz!
very cool stid
I was shocked! (although secretly happy...)
yeah, nobody liked courtney anyway!

8:31, featherbee
feather, just clued at 8:31
woops, sorry! didn't scroll down. thanks!
that's not a REAL word! :p (Or maybe I just feel dumb when I miss simple ones like that)
ap is like when something is not normal or it is aty***, this one is minus the t
it actually means of, relating to, located at, or constituting an apex
nat = smartie
actually I monkey typed it based on points and looked it up later
but thanks leslie

oh yes!
what does babble MEAN that afro isn't a word???
I tried and tried for afro to be a word and then aa*** IS a word? I beg to differ... :P
yeah like how the puzzle a couple days ago had pfft. oh come on!
oh i know! pfft. LOL. Tada wasn't a word yesterday -- I say that all the time :)

you have the only 6 letter p word already... :-)
Thank you -- missing 2 - 4's and a 5
BGL -- are you ready for your vacation? I know musicmom is looking forward to it!
Very much so! I hope to get a lot of work done tomorrow at the office (which means I may have to show lots of Babble restraint) so i won't have to do any work on vacation!
evening, all.
for the p 5's, I have an 18, 16, 14, and 12 -- can someone clue me on the missing one?
there's a 2nd 18

pa and pi, nan
Hey, stidmama. what's going on?
oh, the usual... burned the stew (only a little, still edible today), got most of the laundry done (there's always something I miss), and actually got a little work done in between! you?
oh yeah, and I finished the grid this morning -- with a lot of help from others' clues!
Thank you -- must be missing the pi 5/18
Oh, I've not been half as ambitious! Pasta for dinner - too easy. I do laundry almost every day, so if I miss something, it's no big deal. Babbling helplessly!
got it -- thanks, everyone
i need help again. al7/44 or al5/14?
al7/44 is a varient spelling of the previous word which al5/14 do you need?

af 6, please?
af6/30 means scared

i'm off to find my icon for tomorrow....
i'd gladly pay you on tuesday for an al7 clue today...oh wait, that's wimpy from popeye, not worf from startrek. ptahk.
oops! gotta go do a science experiment first... BBL
al7's are alternate spellings of al6
Good Evening all :) found half the words at lunchtime -- time to find the rest!

sorry, i'm being dense on these al's (except the 4)...
i've been in refresh hell! i don't know what's going on, but i turned off icons, and hit never refresh chat, that finally did it
past tense of what you say at the doctor, bonk
and i kept seeing the clock say 1 minute until the puzzle closes
al + 1st ca 4/6
thanks leslieann, that's a ridiculous excuse for a word, then afro is excluded. shame babble couldn't be powered by a better lexicon.
bonk did you get the ge 4/11 yet? just as silly.
al 7/36 = al 6 insert 3rd vowel al 7/44 = al 6 insert sometimes vowel
ren = my hero
Did I see somewhere that there is an fa 6 -- could I have a clue, if there is one?
al 5 = insert l in ac 4/6
fa 6= like a false front or fa + 1st ca 4
Thanks, ren -- pass the fish!
lol nan..i was surprised when i finally saw it!
How apt. My last word I got was YEAH!
OH CRAP! I'm SO sorry. So terribly sorry. Beat me now. Please
lol it's ok, we all forget and do it. congrats mary!
Heat of the moment and all that. Please hit me hard, someone
pi5/14?
so mary mary is that **F**I**R**E**W**O**R**K**S**? ????
done!!! -- thanks for all the help :)
like a dill, spelled wrong, gw
It is indeed, tempered by my foolish outburst, however
Yay Nan! WOO HOO
hooray nan!
wolf.....pi 5 = merge pi 4/5 and pi 4/6
Hi all! Just scanned the log to look at all the Star Trek icons -- wonderful :) I was sorry I had to work all day away from the computer but I finished before I left for work. Anyone need a clue?
Thank you, LA
pi 5/14: old typewriter font + a consonant
How about the pi6 then? I am running on about 3 hours sleep so am beginning to fade :)
pi6: pi + italian for male sweetheart
th epi6 is captain of the Enterprise with last letter changed :)
Italian word of endearment (m.)
thanks again!
I LOVE that Dr. God put that word in here today, so we could have that clue!
I meant the pi 6, of course.
thanks for thye clue ren had to reboot. i need the last al5/14. sorry i should have been more specific. d'oh
Never thought of using Jean-Luc as a clue!
the last al 5/14 is like the actress/singer who was killed in that plane crash -- one word. Similar spelling.
al 5/14: muriatic ac__ with the appropriate consonant inserted
a; 5/14 = ac 4 insert l
last al 5 sounds like an r & b singer who died recently
Looks like there are lots of clue givers here, so I am off to other pursuits ---- engage! :)
another clue for that last al 5/14 would be tbe boxer Al* + short form of affirmative
Hullo my darlings. I've been away all day working at the library and visiting so I haven't even started today's puzzle. Had to see all these far-out (spaced-out?) icons though. So clever and varied. We done everyone
"night, cyber -- I'm coming up on your starboard soon
i've got a new typo...not only do i spell don;t w. a ; i now say al as a; hmmmm what would jung say?
oo6? beginning to feel really dense about now...:\
Thank you Hetty. I meant to tell you the other day (but you had departed) that when I first saw your name I thought it was a clever play on words for Babble -- i.e. "heady clues" :) Then I found out otherwise.
ch12of12 thanks. and thanks for the other clues too but i don't listen to r&b :-)
oo + different spelling for cheerleader's pep gathering, or what certain race cars are called
I am brand new at this - what do you do? How can I figure out what the hints are?
thank you again
booooooy... i've been watching you like a hawk in the sky.....
Welcome Wildfire! Off to the right are links, and the last few are great ones for a newcomer -- especially Babbler's Anonymous and lickety. Explanations abound on both websites.
Thanks - it's a start
welcome wildfire. first advice, in the sidebar there's a link for lickety's babble clues. open it in a separate browzer window. it will be of emormous help. the clues can be funny, simple , erudite or crazy, but never reveal the actual word. that spoils the puzzling part of puzzling. when you're stumped ask for help and if you can offer help, all the better. have fun.
down to 8 left!
And what exactly, is one of those, those, oo words, exactly?
i got 10 featherbee, let's race!
sure, but i bet you win! lol
Thanks Bonkler
18 to go here :)
I'm at 31, but will sends thoughts of joy rocketing throughout the collective if I could get a little over half way...
that sounds dangerous, douglas ;)
fa5/24? me and the monkey is stumped.
Thanks for stopping by, Captain Janeway! I am back again, see things have really started hopping in the last few minutes!
fa 5/24: f + au 5 - t
Woulf -- how's Sebastian? how's the job? how's you?
Thanks, stidmama
thank you major kira stidmama, may the blessings of the prophets (and profits!) be upon you.
Hey stid -- I am exhausted, Seb is a very happy giggly baby, and the job is closer and closer to permanent -- I think within the next two weeks I will be asked to sign my soul over :)
leslie, down to 2!
oh no at 4!
YAY Nan, YAY marymary, YAY anyone else who finished while I was out...
got it!!!!!!!!!! i totally thought you'd beat me!
Evening all, tough one today I'm finding...
featherbee -- did you just finish the grid?
drats only three left. congrats featherbee!! here's your gold medal.
yeppers! woo hoo!
Hi KennyChuck! yes, not as easy as it could have been, but still manageable... (with help)
YAY featherbee!
aww, thanks!
well done featherbee!
go LeslieAnn, go!
anyone need a hint or two before i go? i feel i need to repay the hints i was given!
Evening, stidmama...yep, it's the help part I think I need.
Hold one moment, feather, if you would. Let me check my list...
oh ok NOW i'm done. the baby cow did me in :)
well, that's what I'm here for! :-) and if my cluse aren't confusing enough, I am sure there are some Klingons around who can help interpret!
The aa5/14 has me stumped, among others...
lol, darn cow...
YAY LeslieAnn! (those baby animals are tribble-like in their deceptivness)
oh, and YAY leslie!!!!
think of the sound of relief, past tense
aa 5/14: *passing fish to you in advance* aa + tall hump letter + past tense (2 letters)
done to 5!
that's ok, i could never stay mad at a baby animal. like, look at featherbee, even if she did beat the pants off me, look at that otter! awwwwwwww
Oh, like the genus of some species is ok...yeah, right, whatever...It is irrelevant to quarrel with the ENABLE dictionary
oops, down to 5 .... told you I was tired :)
awwwwwwww (past tense) ;-)
hee, he's my secret weapon
fo6/39? there must be a fish in it for me.
Thank you, stidmama *relishing fish*. Any help available on the al6 and 7 family of frustration?
go woulf, go! when you're done, we'll go to Quark's for a little pick-me-up before you transport outta here. I think he got a new shipment of Bajoran chocolate today...
al 6 - al +motor**** (ca 4/6)
The commander or governor of a fortress in Spain or Portugal. and the others are spelling variations
Your cuteness will not protect you from assimilation...
fo 6/39 - a past tense w/out the ed... he fo***** valiantly
fo 6/39: f + ou 5... tuna, salmon, or halibut today sir?
al + 3rd letter + lemon***, then insert the vowel with a dot, then swap the dot for the sometimes vowel
oh i think it will, douglas ... *hurries off to join the cute army*
heh, yeah, i think i've already been assimilated into the babbliciousness in here
I wonder if that's where they get Al Qaeda from?
i'm a picard fan, but i didn't like that story line!
thanks leslie and stidmama. after the brisk application of palm to forehead i shall dine on the kippers of humility thanks.
Thanks a million, all...got all 3...down to 7...could use some of that lemon*** myself right about now...
(referring to douglas' icon)
refresh and looooook into my cute otter eyes, douglas... you are getting sleeeeeepy...
lmao!!!!
Any clue for ap6/24?
I thought that a Christian subject under an Ottoman ruler was a dhimmi...
a + pi 5/14
last al5?
sounds like a dill pi***** but spelled differently
if it is not typi***, it might be ap***
Douglas- The words are related. Al Quaeda is Arabic for "the foundation", alcaide is Spanish, but derived from 'al quaid', "the leader".
ok, going to bed, night all...thanks for the fun
ap 6/24: think of an apex, make it a plural, take off the es and add al...
did you miss my singing, gw? ....are you that somebody? tell me are you that somebody....
oh oh, al5 sounds like the r&b singer who died in a plane recently, that i'd never heard of
'night Feather!
have a good night featherbee!
al 5 (last): al + dot vowel + sometimes vowel + first vowel...
good night featherbee!
And anything on the FE6/33?
....um, mary? you did it again *giggle*
LeslieAnn, you are now "it" for cuteness... :-)
Thanks for the AP clue, all...down to 3 now...
And that is me done!! *Sleepy dance of doneness*
Someone set their phaser to stun and SHOOT ME
oh, stid, that's what they all say
go KennyChuck go!
Aw, that otter is so sweet...Wait...adapting...
hooray for gw!!
YAY Woulf! Hugs and Kisses for Sebastian (we know he helped!) too!
i imagine i might be gettting too friendly with the fish, but i need ge4/11 and ha4/5 to finish.
no fe 6, kenny
ge 4 uses the z...
ge 4/11, bonkler! i can't believe you can't find it.
congrats woulf, nodding myself here. (can't find fireworks, toots kazoo instead)
~*~*~*~*~*~Fireworks~*~*~*~*~* ~ for GW. That's not on the grid, too is it?
Thanks, Leslie, I meant FA6/33...*sensing something swimming nearby...a fish, perhaps?*
ha 4/5 is same as 4/8 but different last letter
ha, kinda like cartoony laughing
fa 6 is like the outside of a building. fa + ca 4/6
fa 6/33: don't let this fa 6/33 fool you, I'm really a softie inside!
oh ge**, i thought fish was supposed to be brain food. thank you for taking pity on me being dim.
Thanks, Leslie and Mama...got it! Now for the pi5/18
bonkler, now quite full of fish, burps and is done. thanks to all for clues both obvious and arcane. cheers.
Uncle Ben makes a great rice pi***
evening friends! (Stid, you still scare me even a day later--your icon that is)
hooray bonk!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*FW~*~*~*~*~*~*~* for Bonkler!!
Is it 99 words today?
it is, kenny!
pi5/19 think of a rice dish...
okay, 2 four letter words have me beat, then I'm done... the pa4,6 that's not a rodent or "settled", and the pi 4/5 that's before the typewriter font.... feeling very red snappery right now
KC- yup
We don't get to have kute kitties...Waah!
99, yup
Then...thanks to mary's great long grain and wild clue, I am officially done!
YAY bonkler!
pi + you can call me **
mklein - thanks to you, too.
YAY KennyChuck!
All right kenny chuck!! ~*~*~*~*~*~FIREWORKS~* ~*~*~*~*~*~
hooray for kenny!
TY LeslieAnn!
pa4/6 where one might grow rice, or a truncated irish saint
missyem pa 4/6: bucket? jack and jill went up the hill to fetch....
I don't suppose anyone can read my icon- too tiny
the pi 4/5 you are looking for is an anagram of the clue I gave for the pa 4...
excellent cluesmanship stidmama!
i see "children" and "living things," mary
when i squint and get real close it says (something) is not healthy for children and other living things...
*blush* thanks bonkler!
War is not healthy for children and other living things. But slavery wasn't very healthy for children either.
stid...you're a clue-wielding machine!
worf?
oh, Stid, I have the bucket, there's something else there at the beginning of the pa's I'm missing. I have 2 of 3 pa 4/6s..... the rice field doesn't "take" and too many points? Argh! 1 left!
Thank you all. Plenty of clue-givers, so I will take my leave for tonight. Take care, everyone!
bye KennyChuck ! see you tomorrow!
the other two pa words are anagrams of each other...
marymary -- it looks like "Hurt is not healthy for children and other living things"
In the middle of the flower is a picture of the head of erveryone's favorite Klingon, and the rest reads "Worf is not healthy for children and other living things". It's a take-off on an early 70's (Vietnam era) anti-war poster (War is not healthy....)
pa 4/6s - pa + california abbr., getting wages it getting pa**, then switch last two letters
bed time for this fish eater. thanks everyone. g'night.
The blue blurs making it hard to read :)
it = is
'Nitey nite, Bonk
Hi GW--long time no see (chat)!
marymary, I _knew_ you had done something clever like that! wish the icons were re-sizable...
TY Again LeslieAnn! It was the remunerated anagram I didn't try. YAY!!! Done..... Started at the fl4 last night and stayed up toooooooo late
oh shoot, i was right, i just don't watch star trek so i didn't get it. <----- what a wet blanket
good night bonkler!
I think Worf made a very caring single parent. Every dad should teach his son how to slice an enemy to ribbons with that Klingon thingy
YAY missyem!
hooray missyem!
It would be nice if you could click on the icon and it would pop up in another screen (we could hide all sorts of fun things in there)
yipee missyem
Hey kristi -- yeah, I don't get to spend as much time on the grid anymore -- sleep dep and family keep me busy :)
It was very, very funny at midnight last night, when I had a couple of glasses of wine in me!
thanks so much, everyone, for the hints & clues! You all are wonderful
hi kristinc! how are you doing? I can't remember how much longer you have to wait?
best way to play, mary! ;)
Boy, if I'm ever quizzed on administrative details of the Ottoman Empire, I am so going to rock!
GW-did you get a permanent job yet? Stid-baby due early August, still a while off. Went to the Dr. today, all is well besides normal aches and pains.
Um, ye** Douglas, and how do you know all these things about the Ottomans? Were you there? ;-)
is anyone geeky enough to go through all the icons and do an analysis of numbers of ST, TNG, DS9, etc. etc. to see where are alliances are?
Almost, kristi -- I can feel it coming any day now :)
No, it's just that some of the words have to do with things Ottoman.
GW-good for you. I bet Seb is getting big now!
BRB -- need to check on that science experiment... (growing sugar crystals as part of a geode project)
Yep he's growing -- he is almost 14 pounds now and a very happy boy most of the time -- he has entered smiley phase and loves to crow happily! :D
Exhaustive search has found all the ca4's
I gotta go -- way too little sleep last night + stressful day at work + dinner at gramma's = passing out with exhaustion :\ Catch you all tomorrow!! (*Hugs*) zzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
GW-good. My husband is getting so excited about our baby boy, he's driving me crazy! :)
So long GW! Take care
Goodnight, Woulf!
anyone need a hint or two before I go back to studying... or maybe watching a little recuperative tv....
night, woulfie!
Any suggestions on the y words?!?
oh ye**, I got your suggestions right here!
hiya Temple!
Expressions of gratitude...
the other y is so common it'll make you fishy..... a period of time
hi kristin! falling asleep here...just trying to ge last 7 and and call it a night! : )
all right, folks, i'm heading out. i may or may not be back in an hour and 15 minutes...
g last 7? Indian word for clarified butter
temple, just started or I'd help but you can try me if you want.
Thanks for the Indian clarified butter...
the ge 4/7 is past tense of what you might say to a horse, or if you past-tensed a letter of the alphabet....
good night, LeslieAnn, thanks again for the clues
'nite Missy
Sebastian the crab said this in the Disney movie The Little Mermaid "She traded her voice to the Sea Witch and got legs. ****, mon!"
Since I know have 56 words, I'm going to declare victory and regenerate. Thanks for all the help!
kristinc, before I go, if you just started you may want to know there are 3 al's that are all variants sp. of the same word, has syn. for look in the middle + help at the end
oo 6/18 help!
Well done, Douglas- that is a plan after my own heart.
hi, is anyone still awake?
missyem-thanks I'll work on those then!
owl, that one's a stinker... take the oo and add a pep **** but change the spelling of it
Owl- oo + consonant before 's' + 1st vowel + tall straight consonant + 3rd vowel
abe- 'Awake' is a relative term...
thank you!
any help on the double a?
edited for your reading pleasure "Tribes OO**** Excep t in Devikulam and Thodupuzha block panchayats, the Oo***s are active in other places of Idukki District. They possess hide bound customs and regulations but are very backward in educational aspects. Even then they have the third position among the tribes in literary and basic educational realms. Agriculture is their main occupation. But they also engage in cattle breeding and collection of forest products."
marymary, i hear you. i am on my last brains for the night
Everyone oohed and aa*** at the baby...
Owl, after the fireworks everyone aa***** (said a drawn out syllabel)
thank you. so not how thats actually spelled though. ha,.
...And it looks like they're pretty 'pickled' at that, abe!
LOL. i have 3 words left, i've had a margarita...i can give clues if needed
Let's knock down those last 3- words that is, not 'ritas!
maybe if you're watching fireworks you have to get the drawn-out aspect by doubling the vowel : ) hence a new word.... even though afro doesn't count as a word here!
sounds like a plan!
evening all. any help with the oo word?
Abe, I just recognized your head. I ****LOVED***** that episode of Futurama!
look at 10:57
wassup... hey! scroll down & there are hints galore on oo/
aw thanks. i'm not much into star trek (though my fiance loves it) so i tried to be "creative"
and it was well done!
Hey Wassup! Fellow Rose City dweller! What neighborhood do you live in? I'm a SE girl myself- Hawthorne area...
MARYMARY! I'm in NE PDX we have 3 portlanders online, cool!
ok, i just finished. too tired for dance of doneness. anyone need any clues?
hi mary and missyem. I'm in Hillsboro. Not Portland, but close. I was on hawthorne on Friday though!
ooh Mary and wassup, I grew up in the Portland area...still miss it (Seattle is nice too though)
oh, and thanks for the oo word.
~*~*~*~*FIREWORKS~*~*~*~*~ for abe!!
Happy dance for Abe79! ****Fireworks***** + long drawn out syllables
i really really think we should have a Babbler's day for the PacNW sometime... someplace there is wifi and chocolate and coffee and chocolate (and something for our families to do while we et thoroughly babblified...) and dessert and chocolate!
Kristinc, I grew up in Seattle. what a lovely small world it is
YAY abe! *dancing for you... *
thanks guys...i didn't think i'd make it...
missyem...we just traded places then! Stid-agreed, that would be great fun!
All right, girlies! We should do a Babble meet up some night. I'm sure y'all are a tad younger than me, but I can still party like the ex-hippie I am...
stidmama, are you PNW too? I know just the place, Pix's new est. in NE Portland, wifi, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, free movies on Monday nights....
well done abe
Stidmama, sounds like you just described Papa Haydn's in Portland. Best damn cheesecake I've ever had. :)
here here wassup (on Papa Haydens)
kristin, tried to go there on tuesday and it was closed at 11pm! I was in need of some dessert so we went to Kells. Really good bread pudding. (And a mighty fine Irish coffee too) In fact, anyone for Kells? :) Dang, can't.
missy is thinking of Pix on Division- but Papa H is nice, too
any place there isn't cigarette smoke and loud music is good by me! Portland works -- can send the "boys" to OMSI and Powell's while we play!
marymary--there is no age in babbleland
good night all!
Ive never been to Pix. I'll have to try it out sometime.
stid...where are you on this one? I need someone to rally for Seattle too (I'm torn ya know!)
good night, abe!
Night, Abe- sorry we got caught up with our local thang...
the old one on Division is much smaller & often crowded. here's their site http://www.pixpatisserie.com/
goodnight Abe, take care!
There's another Pix? Get out!!
Seattle is closer for me by over an hour... and I know how to get around better, too. It would be easier for you, Kristinc, because as I recall proximity of "facilities" is really important in the last few months...
afro is definitely a word. im sporting one right now.
any vu clues?
Stid :) We still are in Portland quite a bit b/c all our family is still there.
of course, we could meet more than once... unless we meet in Olympia area, I'll have to drive a ways anyhow! if there were anyone on the other side of the mountains or south of Portland...
ooh! I'm so going there this weekend! I am going to get really fat. :)
"Enable" dictionary strikes again. They should call it "Disabled" (Differently Abled?)
it's on N. Williams, just off of MLK at..... Shaver? My neck o' the woods, and I've heard it's *much* nicer than Division. They have a big roll up door south-facing, I love it.
Portland might be a good spot for our first meet-up... we'd definitely want to be someplace not too crowded or noisy (at least I would, I'm only brave in virtual reality....)
that v! v + expression of disgust! some medical term
Sweet! (Literally!) The Division location (although convenient to me) is always too crowded!
marymary -- did you get your last three words? I got completely off track... :-)
stid, I hear ya, so much easier to be outgoing virtually than in real-life
got it. thanks.
That was abe that had 3 left- I've been done for almost an hour (Weeee)!
I also really like all of the mcmenamins. we could meet at any of those. Edgefield, Kennedy School, etc.
K. School is a great venue- plenty of little places to escape to.
Kennedy School is just down the street, due west of me. I love that place too. Don't know if it's wifi though....
Knowing those McMenamin Bros, it probably is!
sounds like all us Pdx chix like the same kind of places -- most excellent
Yeah, I'm sure it's not wifi. They're all really old buildings. We recently stayed at the Grand Lodge out in Forest Grove. It was wierd! A bed and a sink in the room and then you have to walk down the hall to your bathroom. European style.
Owl??? Anything else left to solve?
My brother works at one of the mcmenamins.
another advantage at K. School or Edgefield, out of towners & tipplers could stay over night ;)
um...I'm stil searching and reading all the get together info--sounding fun! Can someone help me with the fo 6/39?
You _had_ to tell me about Pix! you _had_ to give a webaddress... I am so in trouble... *evil grin* now i have to find out if I can actually eat their chocolates... (allergies) *crossded fingers...*
very good missy, you're on the right page! It's cheap too. Like 55 bucks for a room
fo 6/39: f + o5
pi5/16 all that's left
I gots to go to bed, ladies. Fridays are a true bi*** in my world, until around 5pm! Night all!
sorry, but I knew a website could clinch it -- a nice new (but funky old) facility, entertainment for the kids & S.O.s, chocolate, dessert, beer, wine, cocktails, coffee, and wifi all in one location! hehehehehhe
stid...how lame and I! so sad...thanks
and=am
hi wassup, just got home, i have 7 to go, ny help with the oo6/18?
goodnight marymary, one more day to the weekend!
nite MaryMary, oh lady of Hawthorne
good night marymary -- see you tomorrow i hope!
what the aunties did at the new baby oo----
Hi! You only have 7? Dang!
oo is o + o4/4 + tall letter + dot vowel
oo+letter before s + 1st vowel + letter before m + 3rd vowel
oopss... meant o + o 4/4 + dot vowel...
lds, that only works with the aa.... there aren't pi 5/16, there are pi 5/14 & pi 5/18? "oo" look at 10:51
ok, stid...that was way better than my clue. :)
argh. the German Shepherd Dog is going after his hurt foot again -- BRB
okay friends, my husband is on the list for the computer so I better head off. Just finished, thanks for the help! Goodnight all! (Keep me posted on the shindig)

thanx missyem!
lds, sorry. there's no pi5/16
pi 5/12? a spanish woman's name (sym. to above, change last letter)
from earlier.... kristinc, if you just started you may want to know there are 3 al's that are all variants sp. of the same word, has syn. for look in the middle + help at the end
al + ca 4 same as above but add the dot vowelbefore the last cons. same again, change the dot vowel and replace with the sometimes vowel...
I'll be back in a few minutes. Hubby just got home. Got to feed him!
al 5/14 is al 7/44 minus two vowels in 1 2 middle & 1 @ end
fa6/33 pppplllleeeezzzzee?

I'm an architect & didn't get that one without a clue!!!!
Perfect clue missyem!

Okay, how about fa5/18?
another arch. term for a board used as trim, think of Musolini's boys without the s's or t
I'm sorry, again? fa5/18?
fa + a U.S. spy agency (not the FBI, but the ***)
like the one above, but 3rd &1st vowels after the const. in the middle
I'm Done!!!!!!! First one ever!!!!!!
Thank you , thank you, (((bowing))))
is something supposed to happen if you find all the words (thanx to all your wonderful hints!)??
What's total words today? signed, sushi-the-lazy-one
YAY SueQ!
Stid -- excellent clues. can you guys tell I have been doing NYT crosswords since I was in 7th grade? Still have that verbal thought process instead of the patterns made
99 words today, sushi!
Wassup, I just saw your message re a get together in Portland, and I'd liike to invite myself to be included in an invitation since my home (Salt Spring Island) isn't so far away---from your Canadian cousin
YAYAYAYAYAYAY Bluesky & SueQ! *****fireworks******* & a happy dance. No nothing else happens, but you get mucho points for finishing
i don't do crossword puzzles, that probably shows too! I look for patterns in words, rather than meanings...
