hi leslieann
hello
Well, I'm off to bed now. See you later.
it flipped without me! I was left behind in the old grid!
Its a matter of luck and talent, I guess. I accidentally discovered a way to make it happen fast and have been doing it ever since. Its fun to be first. Then all the archives have my sweet baby on top. :-)
139 today
good nite jacula - thx for the laughs!
good night Jacula! see you tomorrow!
only two 7s so i'm calling out the 6's. le 6/24

evening/morning all! did lickety fix the missing word on his list??
Afternoon MrP, his list still says 1 word is missing. According to knut earlier in the log it is a me5/14.
Good morning all. How is the grid going to behave today?
Morning Haz, Happy May Day!! Not enjoying the grid so much today :((
morning Fmitch and Haz the missing me5/14 comes between the me4/6 and me4/5
That's what I feared at first glance. How is the weather with you? We've had hailstones this morning. My daughter is hoping to go to Belfast to cheer on some friends who are running relay legs in the marathon. It'll be a cold stand!
It's been raining all night and into the morning but is starting to clear up a bit now, sun is trying to come through. Sounds like yr daughter had better wrap up warm!
Thanks for that MrP
She's not the best at standing (she literally sits down to get dressed) so I'm not sure how she's going to stick it out.
Im sure her friends will appreciate the support though. Do you happen to know if it is a holiday today in France too?
I'm not sure - I wouldn't be surprised though.
ME 5/14 = FRENCH SLANG WORD
can anyone please give me a clue for the re 5/14
re 5/14 = sew up edge again
ty joy 23b
YW
Have you noticed that Miss Muffet is provided for in the grid today?
I need a clue for tu4,6 please!! my last word
oooh I had not, thanks as that gave me a 4 and a 5
I keep the intellectual levels high in this game, don't I?
Morning all, thought I would have a quick go at the grid before I go and buy my tickets for the final.
got....never mind
LOL talking of which... juradie the word you are looking for is the "deposits" dogs leave on the pavement that we dont want to walk in.
FMitch got it thanks anyway
Congrats on finishing juradie.
I cannot get zy...
add the de4/6 to your zy
That must be the one de 4/6 I dont have...
can anyone please give me a clue for the st 6/18 and the me 5/14
de4/6 arty period - art de??
AH! thanks guys!
me5/14 is a French word. To m add an anagram of the Bambi animal.
ruthy add a fisherman's bit of kit
or a scottish dance
ty haz1558 and daventins
I'm sad that we can't have outre4/4. It conjures up images of Scotsmen competing to either drink themselves senseless or dance themselves to death.
All those kilts!!!!!!
You wouldn't know where to look! Would Mikey know how to re4/4 do you think?
my last word i cant find it help please anyone st 6/18
i found it must have been blind to miss it for so long thats me finished
Morning dear gang :)
difficult to give a clue, it's when you throw things all around Ruthy
morning sprite
Good morning sprite!
BRB phone
How's the grid today?
It's not as friendly as some have been recently.
I found a D7 right away, so I thought all was going very well, but I see you are right! Not all that obvious today.
Cue feverish searching for a d7....
Eh, let me think, there is De6/27: very quiet en decent way of acting, and De7 is even more so.
Lovely, sprite, thanks - I am rejoicing having found the carriage from Oklahoma, also an English county.
Or I should say 'Oklahoma' - the musical.
Now you have me on the chase... :)
me 4/5 is killing me
The only me4/5 I have is one meaning small or slight ( also French for mother)
yeah I've got that one haz... yeah I've got that one haz... :)
Same here, only Me4/5. Got 2 Me4/6s though :) I just love K-less grids.
for the other me4/5, change the last letter to a consonant.
Thanks trishtrash.
Yeah! That simple, hm? How blind can I be...
Ah, the E-color is in the grid, plus plural :)
It's a whle since it was there.
turns out that i had it the whole time....
(((sprite!!))) hello!!
Well - it helped us to find it, student!
Hiya MrP! :)
trish (rubs eyes!) is that really you?? long time no see!
tu 4 6 ? please
Hey mrP :) *hugs right back*
*grins* it's a time-zone thing, MrP. I spend most of my time zoned ;)
tu4/6 - nasty deposit sometimes left by dogs.
thank you haz
LOL trish! you sound just like lickety!!
I can't believe tu 4/6 was so hard to find.
You're welcome.
Being blind for the obvious is part of this game. I hope. Or otherwise I am just stupid ;)
None of us are stupid!
Or should that be is stupid?
LOL!
well, i must be cause I don't know what the me5 is that lickety is missing
lol Haz, funny.
is it tu4 in french!??
I think that's the french swearword, MrP.
Can it be the past tense cat sound?
Yes!
Good lord!! French crap it is!!
But the cat doing it isn't valid :(
these tw's will be the end of my night.
Which don't you have?
tw 6/39 tw 5/22 tw6/36
stick an ending on the tw5/20
The tw6/39 is descriptive (add a letter to the preceding tw5)
the 6/39 just needs another letter after the 5/20
the other two rhyme with liar / liars
tw5/22 & plural = tw + sometimes vowel + makes a mistake (less one consonant)
me4 6 me 4 6 me 4 5 me 5 12 me 4 5 me 5 22 mu 5 18 mu 6 27 mu 7 40 mu 4 6 mu 5 16 mu 4 6 mu 5 14 mu 6 30 mu 5 14 mu 4 6 mu 4 6 One more to go. my stats board shows I need a 5 letter M, but i've been through the list and all seems correct. any clues to what is missing please
Got to 100 and time to do other things. May day and it's bucketing! At least it gets me out of cleaning the windows....
Thanks guys! Agree with sprite, I hate K grids.
grim... m5/14 - french word for crap
I'm done, have a good day everyone
thanks
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~* *~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~* for trishtrash! and student!
Sorry pres, not done yet!
thanks mrP, it's been a long time since I got whizzy fireworks :) :) see you again soon, I hope.
good to see you to trish!! chat again soon! sorry student!! thought you were done... premature pyrotechnics!
i often suffer from premature pyrotechnics pres, sadly...
Yeah, tickets bought after some trauma, can now concentrate on the gird :)
LOL student!! sadly, it happens!
Anyone remember the old rhyme, Hooray hooray, the first of May/Outdoor sex begins today? Far too wet and cold for anything like that! Mind you, there is a second verse which goes: But if perchance that it should rain/We all effs off indoors again!
we 5/20 ? I'm going to need help here...
we5 marry + shorter ms macpherson model
OK, I've hit the re's and cannot find re6/33
hi wren! re + dr4/9
thanks mrp, I haven't got to the dr's yet, but I worked it out
Thanks pres... How about... st 6/30?
st6/30 nice and strong!!
ahhh not enough pres.... Anyone else watching BB here in Oz?
if anyone wants to help me with me 5/12 and me 5/22 fire away!
Good morning everyone! been hunting and lurking for a while. Not a bad puzzle. Any hints for the m7?
me5/22 is the past tense of a sound that a cat makes
student-do you have the past tense of what acts do for the 22?
me5/12 - a comparative for the me4/5
student-not only was haz quicker-but she can type so that you can actually understand the clue.
Eva.... Coln. Mustard... in the Observatory.... was a game involving a series of... Mu...
Eva - I'm sure he knew what you meant!
thanks student!
me 5/12?
me5/12 - more of the me4/5 meaning insignificant.
Good morning to y'all......
Finished!!
thats me finished : )
Good morning movieman - and well done Mr President!
Am missing 5 6's. I have: ce6/24 cu6/27 de6/27 do6 /24 he6/24 he6/33 le6/24 mu6/2 7 mu6/30 re6/33 st6/18 su6/27 tw6/39 tw6/36 us6/24 zy6/45
MAZAL TOV Mrp & sha!
There are two de6/27
*prematurely pyrotechnics for president*
Also cu6/24
d7? Im still not getting the insignificant plural me 5/12...
The strong st6/30
eva - st6/30=very strong.....
thanks! now on to Desperate Housewives!!!
Student - it's not a plural, it's a comparative.
Thanks haz!
De6/27 - means modest and reserved. The de7 (the comparative) means more modest and reserved.
Thanks Haz, I should have looked for that since i has the de 6!
It's not the easiest word to say either!
Thanks everyone. Got the st6, but am still searching for that second de6-how about a third letter? I have the ded6.
Presumably the people on Australian BB (or any BB for that matter) are not very de6/27?
any hints for that second cu6? I have the dog one.
de6/27 - The next part of the word is similar to a painting done directly onto a wall.
what's BB?
ha ha.... haz, the other de 6/27?
The second cu6 is a plural for those who heal.
eva - BB=Big Brother.....
Eva - Big Brother.
have that one haz
The second de6/27 is the present tense (third person) form of the de5/16 (verb meaning to refuse)
well, obviously am way out of the loop. Is this a TV show?
that s the one I have haz.
so I must be missing the first de6/27. Any clues for that. The sun is shining right in my eyes, so forgive typos please.
I dont have that 5/16 either Haz.... Sorry to be a pain!
Eva - it's based on the idea of people being watched at all times, as in 1984 'Big Brother is watching you'. People volunteer to be together in a house, watched by cameras (and the viewing public) for weeks. They are voted out by the public and last one in wins. The term 'playing to the cameras' could have been invented for this.
de5/16 - just remove the last letter from the respectable de6
Okay im missing one de 4/5 - I have... de + regarding... any help on the other, i know it'll be staring me in the face...
Why people want to be in a show like that is beyond me. Why people want to watch that, too. But that's just me.
student - Bambi?
Excellent, thanks Haz.... 14 to go...
Sprite - I'm with you!
Haz, that is a very sanitized description! I find BB repulsive and it certainly is not a 7.30pm time slot for TV... it makes me think that cockroaches have better moral values than the people on that show!
Thank you. Sounds truly awful!! Have to admit that I am not able to watch those kinds of shows...they give me the willies. I feel embarassed for the people and real life seems hard enough and full enough of human drama without rigging such situations. But, as they say, a chacun son gout. There's a lot of very stupid stuff on TV that I am addicted to, and al still in mourning for Buffy.
Thanks haz for the first de6!
Mrpresident - yes I agree that I didn't give the full flavour of just how ghastly the people are and the concept is!
okay i'm actually missing a de 4/6.... I have - art de.. how to do and sort for skin doctor
I think also the fact that my parents were both German-Jewish refugees gives such programs a particularly horrific edge for me.
I was told there is another show now, in which two wifes change places for 2 two weeks. And another one, in which there is one homosexual in a group of people and they are to make out who it is. I think it is sick, really. Who thinks up such things? Don't they have a life of themselves?
Happy May Day! Little Miss Muffet would feel right at home today, I see.
de4/6 - to decide upon the merits of something - you de4/6 something to be suitable for example.
oh Haz! they are not possibly right in their mind are they!! And Buffy rocked!! bring back the Buff!
Mrp - I'll tell you something that should be brought back......... FUTURAMA!!!!! !!!!!
mrp -I wrote a "eulogy" for Buffy which I'd be glad to send you if there's a way to do that.
*slaps head*
what was futurama?
The problem seems to be that people with no perceptible talent feel the need to be 'famous' and will therefore do, or say anything in order to be noticed.
he 6/24?
Eva, please do!! I miss her and would love to read it My email is in my bio or on lickety's clue page (on the right)
he-someone who gathers the flock
oaky-will send it now
I agree, Haz. There is something distasteful about it. It's creepy, the way people like watching someone being degraded or degrading him/herself.
movieman! how goes it?? I never got into Futurama (or the Simpsons for that matter) as my favourite cartoon style character is Invader Zim!!
Eva - Futurama was an animated show, created by Matt Groening, who was also responsible for the phenomenon that is "The Simpsons"...... It was set in the year 3000, and concerned the adventures of a pizza delivery boy called Fry, who was accidentely cryogenically frozen, and woke up in the future.....
Sprite, not to attack you for the sins of your countrymen, but Jon de Mol is behind alot of this kind of TV-garbage...
Thanks eva, i should have got that - those er's and ed's have made up most of my tally today.
Mrp - absolutely fine!!!!! Just recovering from the celebrations after my team, Chelsea, successfully defended their Premiership title.....
amanda... and garbage it is... not the stuff on the top that you pick out and dust off and perhaps are able to salvage.... but the wet, stinky, slimy stuff that makes you gag and turn your head in disgust.... ( :))
Quite a few years ago, Clive James did a programme on television around the word. He drew attention to the Japanese penchant for 'extreme' games and we thought at the time how strange it was. Now everyone is following suit. I can't bear it!
amanda, you are so very right. And I don't feel attacked, I think the man should be certified. He invents programs that are truly sick.
movieman... I thought of you whilst watching that!! congratulations!! what a wonderful win!!
Okay - I am stuffed on that st strong clue...
Student- try inserting the distasteful tu4/6 and adding the sometimes vowel.
student... take the tu4 meaning crap, add an 's' to the front and a 'y' to the rear
Mrp - thanx for that......
well, Merp is baring his fangs. Time to feed him (or lose bits of body parts) and take a walk on this chilly but beautifu day. see you all later.
As to all the TV-garbage, I just keep my fingers crossed that it's a fad that will at some point go away - the scary part of that is - what comes next? Just when you thought they'd reached the peak of distastefulness, someone manages to top it!
Bye Eva - have a good day!
mrp the buffy piece is sent.
thank you Eva!!
amandacath - they'll go on showing the stuff as long as the viewing figures are up.
Thank mrp!
YW student!
re 5/16? not the one in a pond. and re 5/14?
Which is why I refuse to watch it - even if "they" aren't monitering my personal TV viewing habits, I always feel like I've made a statement by hitting the off-button
re5/14 - to sew the bottom of something again.
16 = give color again 14 = seam it again
I always feel I have a zillion better things to do. And that's including cleaning the toilets.
morning! I am having such fun... Yesterday I went out and bought Dragon Naturally Speaking software, and now I can dictate chat I can also dictate the words in the game.
And that's me done for today. Any clues needed?
DAMNIT! My other window closed and I've lost lickedy's clues!
Well, the thing I must do now is take the dog a walk. It has stopped raining, so off we go! See you all later! And well done Sprite.
re 5/16 - another clue?
Student - when the gray starts to show again, it's time to re5/16 your hair
Good morning, all... is lickety or MrP still around?
Does anyone happen to know what M word is missing from lickety's list?
hi Jera - it is the me5 word for crap in french
me5/14? LOL, I have that one, put it in the me5/12 spot. That's the word I need to finish. Thanks!
oh that is ok... put a 'r' on the end of the me4/5
Wow, I had that all messed up... turned out I was missing the me5/22. Can't believe I didn't see that one right away, LOL *happy dance of doneness*
*~*~*~FIREWORKS!~*~*~ FOR JERA!!
*notices she is still in monster costume & goes off to change for MayDay
Okay - 9 to go, any help appreciated... ce 5/14 - not the tree cr 5/12 cu 6/24 cu6/27 cu 5/14 not the doctor or swearing he 5/22 he 5/20 he 6/33 Love any help!
{{{{ANGEL}}} Are you still here? So you got your software downloaded and everything is working good? Sounds great :)
Happy May Day Everyone :)
Student - there's a cr5/14 - "the Apostles' ..." - statement of belief or something like that
student... the he's.... h + female sheep... + all the endings you can get!!
oh, sorry - the one's you listed are the ones you're looking for, right? The cr5/12 is like the cr5/14, different ending: A wicker basket, especially one used by anglers for carrying fish
ce5/14 is past tense of the 4/5 right before it
Whew, I'm back... that was harder than I thought!
I was tempted to just do my naked ivy fairy for Beltane, but I like maypoles as well.
{{{FAERIEKAE}}} Merry Beltane to you!
Thanks Pres... Thanks amandacath... I can't get that cr one...
cu 6/24?
What are you missing Student? Perhaps I could give a fresh perspective...
c + fishing equipment (rod and ...)
cr 5/12 cu 6/24 cu6/27 cu 5/14 not the doctor or swearing and lickedy's missing me 5
cu6/24 = ones who cu45
Oops, sory cu4/6 I mean
cu6/27 = past tense of cu4/6 just above (double consonant one)
I'm stuck on the cu6/24 as well - the 6/27 is ... past tense of a mangy dog?
there is a 3 letter word for mangy dog, double last consonant & pluralise it for your missing cu5/14
i cant believe i missed some of these! Thanks Jera, all the help is appreciated!
Yes, amandacath!
cu 6/24 people who heal
cu 5/14 - I cant get it!
cu 5/14 healer
*slaps head* - thx ilandrah, was going in the wrong direction - Student, go back the way you started...
ilandah, not the doctor one...
cu 5/14 plural mangy dog
double hooked consonant
cr 5/12 cu 5/14 and a me that lickedy was missing...
Student, do you have the plural of the mangy dog??
cr 5/12 rhymes with what you fish with, a rod & re4/4
Wait I do... mangy dog and the doctor. whatever the other is...
Do you have the single consonant past tense of swearing? Sounds old english
yeah I do jera
Did my cr hint work? Give us an update on what you need...
Did Jera. it's cu 5/14 - but not the doctor or the mangy dog plural.
You've got them all, Student, I'm sure: doctor mangy doGG shakespearean swearing
And me 5/14....
Hi, all 8) I'm almost finished w/this grid. Now it's time to beg. What do you know about the "US" word? I'm struggling here. Help, please.
There are only 3 cu5/14's, sounds like you have them all!
us = One who lends money at interest, especially at an exorbitant or unlawfully high rate
me 5/14 = french swearing...
okay... I've got the doctor, he or she who heals. and the plural with a double hooked constinent...
sounds a lot like mu6/27, change second letter & drop last letter
I thought you said you had the Shakespeare swearing...?
Alas ye olde tavern twas cu5/14 with a horrible ghost!
I thought I did...
good clues Jera
Rhymes with what mean people do to bubbles...
TY for that clue. I've been trying to make that word, I think I have a spelling issue.
Babble will do that to you, gramma... I used to be a good speller until I started hanging out with all these alternate spellings...
Excellent cues jera, got it.... sorry! GOT THEM ALL! DONE! THANKS GUYS! WOOT!
Am I right in assuming there are 2 me5/14's? - The one on lickety's list and the missing french one?
Congratulations Student !!!!
wtg the student! hey, what's the theme today?
Abe todays theme is May Day :)
thanks faerie, wow i need more caffeine...
Huzzah for Student!!
Yes, amandacath
Well, I gotta go get my littles littlie off to school... see you guys later!
Last word...of course, it's the"ZY". I'd appreciate a hint. TY in advance.
It's cajun music, gramma
ByeJera. Enjoy your time w/them, as limited as it is.
Happy May Day Everyone. Just now able to get on. Don't know what was wrong but it kept telling me I had the wrong password. Happy puzzling!!
amandacath, of course! TYVM
YVW - I'm stuck on the me5/14 - got the french one, it's the other one that's hiding from me. Anyone?
amandacath - there is only one indicated on lickety's list - whereabouts does the other one come?
Happy May Day Rump :)
Hi Haz :)
Hello faerikae - how are you?
I'm good Haz. No complaints. Looks like another nice day. How about your self?
Ok, now I'm confused. It was said in the log that the me5/14 = french manure is missing from lickety's list. There is however a me5/14 ON the list that is exactly where the french manure WOULD fit...?????
I'm fine - despite turning 48 today....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAZ!!!!!!!
amanda - I think lickety realised he had missed out the word and inserted it later.
I just checked Lickeyts list and BJ's list and they are the same me 4/6, 4/6, 5/14, 4/5, 5/12, 4/5 5/22 Is this correct?
Yes, faeriekae, that's what I've got as well. Call off the search, amandacath!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HAZ, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HAZ, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR HAZZZZ, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU :)
And many morrrreeeee.........
Oh, thank you faerie and amanda! I hadn't intended to mention it, but there you go.
happy birthday haz!
Oh hurray! *wipes sweat from brow*
Good Morning Hurshy :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAZ!
I now have to get used to the idea of being 49. I always try to think of myself as being a year older than I am and then it doesn't come as such a shock!
morning faerie :)
haz - your birthday grid has everything - drama, humor, nursery rhymes... :)
AND it has the carriage from 'Oklahoma'!
with a fringe on top :)
Exactly!
Sorry to butt in. the Six to seven babblers determined there are two me 5/14, the french crap and another, which escapes me too.
I mean the 6 am crew.
Inge there is only one me 5/14.
I have all the me s according to the grid being greyed and there's only one me5/14 there.
Inge and good morning to you dear. Did your tulips survive the cold weather we had last week? I got tired of covering my and decided to heck with it and they are fine. Thank goodness :)
the other me5 is the sound a cat makes, past tense
OK. I printed Licketys list and the others claimed afterwards there should be another 5/14. But of course I bow to the ELDERS.
I think Lickety had originally left out the me5/14, but replaced it later. That's where the confusion began (and continues)
Inge is it raining at your house?
yes, our tulips did very well. We never covered anything. Now I want to put out my flower boxes--with mini cascade geraniums, like they use in Europe. They are hard to find around here so we overwintered some in my greenthumbed husbands greenhouse.
no rain here yet, though we need it badly
Inge those sound beautiful. Would love to see a pic when you get them up and going :)
Not a phrase often heard in Ireland....
It just started to sprinkle here so you may just get some before the day is done. I'm a couple hrs North of you but you may still see some rain.
LOL Haz
Haz - you are from the land where it never stops raining too. I thought I was the only one
I've not planted anything outside side yet nor have I started any baskets but I'm getting very anxious to do so.
Only 13 to go, so I shall do some house cleaning before finishing off at about noon. I hate getting used rain from the west or north!!!! :)
LOL Inge - see ya later :)
Hello candy - I noticed from the grid yesterday that you were from Ireland. Whereabouts are you?
North - nearest city belfast. What about you?
Ballymena - so halfway between Belfast and the North Coast.
I'm actually 8 miles out of Ballymena
Antrim direction?
Haz - Candy ----you guys sound like your neighbors LOL
Broughshane
That means we are about four miles apart! What are the chances?
~What a small world!!
You are neighbors LOLOL
We might even meet someday
How long have you been babbling?
doesn't doc g provide an irish flag, haz?
this is day 8.
Candy is addicted....8 days is all it takes :)
Dr-G certainly does provide an Irish flag for those who wish it, but since I am a British citizen, living in Northern Ireland (part of the United Kingdom) I have opted for the Union flag.
Are you hooked, yet, Candy, or is that a silly question?
is there a flag for northern ireland, different from the regular irish one?
Hurshy its a Northern Ireland thing - you have to live here to understand it
There is the Red Hand of Ulster but it is more sectarian than I would like.
hmm... can i put up the british flag just cause i WANT to be british, even though i am american? or would that be too confusing?
Hooked is an understatement. I have hardly got any work done at all
Candy - Welcome to Babble - you are now one of us. hahahaha
interesting. i just wondered because here each state has a flag, in addition to the US one, only most people don't know what any of them look like.
Take a deep breath before you opt to be British. Do yo want high gas prices and rotten weather?
i hate being hot, so yes to the weather. and i think i'd be willing to trade gas prices for the cool accent!
Thanks faeriekae I enjoy be a 'Babbler'
bbl going to the shower.
I'm with you, Hurshy!!
lovely flowers, une
:-D
re 5/14 ??
I better get back to work before I lose my job. I have to try to finish the grid later
to sew the bottom of a skirt again
cheers hurshy
and 5 points to you for guessing a word i was missing :)
Bye Candy - we'll chat again!
have tea together! i want to imagine you having tea together.
The chances are we'll either know each other or know relatives/friends. Northern Ireland is a very small place. My motto is never to say anything about anyone else as you may be talking to their second cousin....
lol, sounds like rhode island, where i grew up
we got any weird first two letter combos like ts or tm?
Is zy weird enough for you?
it is, but i got that one. i have 6 to go :)
er5/12 anyone?
Everything else is normal. (ish)
made a mistake
thanks haz :)
Okay, time to go. Have a good day everyone, and happy babbling.
bye haz, have a great birthday!
DONE...anyone need a clue??
o'chita - how do you feel about playing GWHIM? your cup of tea or no?
Yes, happy birthday, Haz! Got the er5 word now.

people who heal
Thanks, hurshy. Was missing an angle, as usual.
you're ALMOST in the puzzle!
Hi all - sneaking in when I should be photocopying about 100 things for my Division meeting on Thursday. Got the Bank holiday horrors - or at least the other half has! Any one want a third hand husband? Well trained but cantankerous!
hi snowy :)
Just passing the computer...Faeriekae, we had ten minutes of sprinkles, now the sun is out again. You must have used up all the rain! Off to do living room
Just sprinkled here Inge. But we got it and you didn't nananan :)

Hello again! How is everyone this fine MayDay morning (or afternoon for some)?

It's Haz's birthday?? Happy Birthday, Haz!!
Hi Jera & Faeriekae!
Feeling very perky this morning, must be the Beltane spirit...
{{snowy}}}
hello, everyone! : )
hey temple :)
Greetings, Temple Owl!
Hi TO!
Hello everyone i'm back from Toronto Did anybody miss me?
Hi Shorty!
snowy: seems we shared the same idea today!
I missed you terribly, shorty, never leave like that again!
I once dressed my husband as a morris dancer for a fancy dress dance! May be why he's so grumpy today
I'd play the game, Hursh, but I still have 93 to get myself...
well angela, if you happen to be done with W's H's T's or C's... :)
LOL! but you did let him carry a manly stick, though?
I'll keep you posted Hursh.
Nearly finished, only three to find, but I can't see them. me5/14 - mu6/27 and mu7/40 Any ideas anyone?
Ok I wont :)
No Way!!! Lots of bells & ribbons tho' LOL!
OH Hey whem I left Mikey was upset and no one could get ahold of him is he still on here playing?
exwren- mu 6 /27 -convicted of first degree..., 7 is the plural
mu6/27 is what I may do to the other half if he doesn't start cheering up soon!
exwren - french swear word, homicide, and pl
{{{Shorty}}}
Well its about time you saw me!!!!!!faerie
What's up with Mikey Shorty?
seems like homicide
I dont know is he still here?
Morning/Afternoon dear babblers. I'm still a monster from yesterday: the strange houseguest who won't go away.
Haven't seen him. Have you talked to him on IM? I haven't since Friday.
lol, hi mab
LOL Mab :)
hi mab
I tried and he never e-mailed me or im'd me
Well lets double team him what do you say? I'll try to IM him also.
i don't know what happened, but i played literati with him on friday night
Ok
oh you did TO Hi BTW
Well I tried IM but no answer.
hi, shorty! : )
I'm back, wandered off to shop... I'm done if anyone needs help...
Hi Jera :)
jera! will you play GWHIM? 1 W, 1 H, 2 T, 1 C (second row)
and 3 of those are 5's, one 4, one 6
I'm not sure I know how to play but I'll guess... wh4/11?
as in cu4 and? got. (if you need more info you can read my bio)
And for the c in the second row I guess cr5/14
cr5/14 as in glass of water cr*** of bread?
cr5/14 as in law of belief to follow
Shorty do you have MSN IM?
oh that's from the top... please tell me these aren't the weirdest words, or i am going to need fish big time
My mistake I started it from the second, lol
yes i do have msn
jera - you might also like to read my guide to boxes, in my bio, then :)
Mikey just said to try him on there. Yahoo keeps disconnecting him
IMHO, a cu 5/14 is the weirdest
Did I get the w guess correct, hurshy?
but of course that is from the bottom. there are no weird 4's or 6's either?
no, sorry jera, i had that :)
He is offline according to my MSN...
are you talking to Him?
There's some old english-like weird ones
yeah mine says hes offline too
like cu5/14... anything else?
Yup
hurshy, I have read your bio... doesn't help me much. Not at all your fault, of course!
been talking on Yahoo he hasn't signed in on MSN yet.
oh...hmmm.... i wonder how i can make it more clear?
Do you have co6/33?
Hi Everyone
Hi Ginger :)
yes i do :)
are you talking to him now faerie
yes
Do you have cr4/9?
how about this, jera, are there any cl's?
but on yahoo still Shorty
No cl's
oh so how is he is he coming back here/
Hi GingerUK
then the odds are it's a co...
hurshy did you see my cr4/9 guess?
yes...have that...
It's May! It's May! The lusty month of May, that darling month when everyone goes blissfully astray :) Sorry, couldn't resist. Happy May Day
Have you gone to trial yet? co5/14 & it's plural?
happy May Day to you ch1212!
Boy, I hope so ..
yup, have those. if i were you i would have guessed cr5/12, btw - but i have that too :)
Greetings, ch1212! Sounds like you have the Beltane spirit as well!
hi torgone!
How many cr's do you have? Am I allowed to ask?
cr4/6?
not technically jera, but now i'm getting desperate :) i have 4
Good day, all! A bit overcast and windy here in New England.
Well I'm half Scottish, half Irish, Jera, so I guess that fits :D Although my icon is King Kamehameha -- in Hawaii May 1 is a HUGE celebration for him, with parades and such. I lived there as a child.
I bet you're missing the cr4/6 then, it's a bit odd
ding ding ding! 5 points jera! now you know the kind of weirdness to look for! :)
Greetings, Kenny Chuck! Gorgeous sunny day here in Virginia!
that leaves H, W, and 2 T - 3 5's and a 6, so perhaps my t's are a 5/6 combo - wouldn't that be nice...
Hi kenny -overcast & cold here -but we're usedto it now!
oh, kenny, a fellow new englander - whereabouts?
SE Mass, near The Cape, Hurshy...you?
western CT
I'm interested to know how people tackle the grids... alphabetical order? what you can spy? grid order (for those with stats especially? come on, what's your secrets!!! :-)
Yay!! 5 points!! Fun game (now that I have success)!
Hurshy, don't know in western CT, but here it has been unquestionably the nicest April weather-wise in years and years...
So what are you missing now, hurshy?
i look for as many as i can just see until i have at least half, ginger, then i look at the stats panel and see what letters i need and try to find those, and then when i have 20 left or so (depending on size of grid) i open the log and see if i can get clues or get people to play GWHIM
Any help anyone on the TW's? I've got the fabric and also how precious it looks, but stuck on the other 3...
Never mind, I saw your update...
10 points to kenny! i am thus missing two tw's!
and an H and a W, jera :)
Do you have he4/6?
Ginger, very much like Hurshy's process. I find as many words as I can without taking forever or losing my vision and when I have exhausted my first take (today, it was at 80), I open Lickety's Clues, check the log, and ask for specifics.
Ginger, I start in one spot and exhaust everything I can think of, then move on. By the time I'm done with that approach, I have around 60% of the words. Then I 'troll' for clues in the log, and even one clue will set me in a new direction for a bunch more words. For the last 15-20% I use the lists, and I ALWAYS have to ask for help on anywhere from 1 - 5 words ... It's a group effort, believe me.
i have 3 of them, jera :)
Kenny there is a tw 5 & 6 combo that sounds like someone talking with a lisp who attempts to do something
I don't know if I'm the champ at GWHIM, but I have to be Top 5...*honing acceptance speech, pressing tux*
Ginger - I have no method at all! I scrutinise the grid, trawl the log, ask for clues and when I'm cornered & exhausted I give in & get the list!
Do you have he5/14?
thanks for answering Hurshy... I have been experimenting with approaches... starting with 'I spy' then grid but I nearly always end up alphabetic. I try not to read the log until I am really stuck!!!
5 points, jera!
Happy May Day everyone!! :)
so now i need a w5
Whoo-hoo! I got 10 points now!! *makes up a new dance to use while playing WIHM*
Happy May day sherb! Pretty icon
Do you have we5/20?
ooh, good tw5/6 clues Jera :)
5 points jera! and 1000 more as soon as i find it!
hi smowy... love the Morris dancers!! :D
Happy MD sherb
got it - have your 1000 points now.
Happy May Day, sherb & thanks! I am a bit manic today...
*putting away tux...sending acceptance speech to Jera...pouting*
They're grest aren't they! I LOVE Morris Dancers - I like anything that makes a smile!
i think you've got the hang of it now, jera :) when you started you were guessing easy words, now you know to guess the weirdos :)
kenny - there's hope for you yet - 1000 points go to the guesser of the last word every day!
Whoo-hoo! Did I win for today? Do I get Kenny's trophy? Is the game over when you finish the day's grid or does it continue forever?
the game is over until tomorrow. :)
hi ch1212 !! :D
if you want to know your lifetime score you must keep track of your own points. bex has 1035, i know, she told me. ;)
So I start over at zero next time I play or do I keep up with my 1015 points?
LOL, thanks!
you can keep your points. but as i said, i don't keep track of them, so if you want to know how you are doing relative to others, you have to ask around. (although i don't think that many people are keeping track)
Congrats Hursh - still have 59 to go, I knew I wouldn't be able to help today :)
Thank you for your help, abe79,snowyowl and hurshy. I had to leave just after my request for help, and have only just got back. Thanks to you, I have now finished!!
That's OK, jera. I have trophies for other games you don't even know about *stomping foot, dipping pigtail in ink*
'sok angela *sings* there's always tomorrow for dreams to come true...
ch1212... I was reading back through the chat & saw where you spoke of King Kamehameha... I wonder why today is a holiday since his day isn't until June 11th?
hello all need a clue for each ... first re 5/16 re 5/14 please
I am quite certain that I now have 1,036.
to color again to sew bottom of skirt again
hmmm, how odd kenny - i don't often give out less than 5 at a time...
Yeah, well...hurshy...new math.
ooh there are points to gwhim now? how exciting.
congrats Ex Wren!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*S*
*singsong* Kenny's tryin' to cheeeeat... Kenny's tryin' to cheeeeat!
I don't know, Jera -- Just know that there is a huge celebration in Hawaii on May 1 in his honor. When I lived there the queen was still alive (though abdicated of course) and she rode in the parade every year. We got out of school for the day, and even our small town of Kailua celebrated with festivities.
but bex's is assuredly not the top score anyway, so... i'd talk to macuser, maybe - i think she has a lot....
Still working on that lisp clue for TW and can not thee it.
leslie - there have always been points, you didn't notice?
do i get back points for previous puzzles or is everyone starting anew?
really? huh.
kenny - it rhymes with a tool that you use to grip things and bend them
I'm not trying to cheat, Jera...I am cheating...and doing it well. *S*
well, now that it's a completition, i'm interested :)
leslie - you can keep your points, but you must keep track of your own running score
I have decided that for each day I play Babble, my icon shall be a representation of a celebrity who's birthday it is..... That's why my icon today is of Patsy Stone, aka the wonderfully talented Joanna Lumley....
done and done. does anyone have the u word?
I have 1,036, Leslie and I'm very very good at it.
hmmm... this could get ugly... perhaps i SHOULD keep track of people's scores. however, i don't know how many people have already earned!
Jera, I just googled it, and it comes up two ways -- King Kamehameha Day and then "Lei Day" which I've never heard of and suspect some tourist bureau thought it up, since tourists didn't know or care much about the King (as a generalized statement) :)
hmm, think i'll save your 10:28 comment and bring it back to haunt you whenever you're in the lead, kenny ;)
the u word is a person who loans money for interest (or exorbitant interest)
got the skirt, hurshy ty what about the color?
I was just about to say it's Lei Day & maybe he's just there since he is so important!
Has anyone a clue for the co6/33 please? I have just photocopied 100s of things for my meeting and my head is too full of the clicks of the printer to think anymore!!!
to color again like...like to color fabric or a pair of shoes
o got that one too hurshy!
*lining up fish* Hurshy, thank you...but I thtill can't thee it!!!!!
hi movieman & jeffer
co6/33 will make you laugh
That could be, but I remember hearing all about the royal history, studying it in school and how his lineage was, and we had to learn about Captain Cook and all that just before the big day. OH well, it's MAY! It's May! The lusty month of May! It's here!
kenny - also rhymes with things that burn
Snowy...as Joanna Lumley herself would say, "Dying is easy, ******'s hard."
or people who tell untruths *ahem*
Kenny... wrong kind of lisp... not an s lisp, but an r lisp
Kenny Chuck, imagine Elmer Fudd attempting to catch Bugs Bunny. He would say "I tw-- and tw--" So he would be a tw---.
morning, everyone.
Ok gotta go to the football, will hopefully finish when I get back. 40 to go but the list is going to be needed if I want any sleep tonight :) See you later/tomorrow.
TY Jera - I could do with some of that! Laughing boy down stairs is still grumpy! Just how DOES one grind glass?
morning charm, vicuna. vi - any progress on the AIM front?
Very carefully, snowy? Later, Katie!
nice clue Kenny !
YAY!!! Vicuna and Hurshy, thank you BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!
bye Katie
I have a few minutes at the moment, and need help with the ME5/14, please!
Hi Charm
Morning, all. Yup, I've got myself an account last week. "Vicuna" was taken so I had to resort to being "Vycuna" instead. But I had this open studio show this weekend and haven't been on-line in three or four days. Tragic, eh!
Hey, snowy. what's going on?
me5/14 is French cussing... sounds like mu6/27, but with different 1st vowel & leave off last letter
me 5/14 french swear
ok vi, i have added you to my buddy list! :)
thanks, Jera! If I should ever need to curse at a frenchman.... =8-)
Morning, all. Happy May Day.
morning, judi
not a lot thats exciting charm! Grumpy husband, too many things to do and not enough time to do them! LOL
Anything on the ST6/30, please?
Happy May Day Judi :)
Yay, a buddy! :) I put you on mine, too.
but you aren't on now, correct?
Snowy, that sounds pretty normal! Just add a whiny 3yo....
st 6/30 - stable, strong
No, I'm not, but give me a sec...
Hurshy, thanks! Unfortunately, that's an adj. that's been used for me once too often. lol
LOL Charm - just sent 3 littlies home to their mum! The 59 yr old is a much more practised whiner! I was hoping she'd send them back & keep him!
I'm back... I was tidying up my Babble chart & recording my WIHM points!
Snowy, how Do you stop that whining? I've tried interrupting it, walking away from it, but it just comes back at triple strength like something out of a bad horror movie.
hmmm... maybe i will have to read the logs since the inception of the game and make a database - if there are going to be cheaters like kenny around :)
that seems like too much work hurshy.... you could just start over and give bonus points to those who kept track
leslie - i do so like to do things right, though. and i have time on my hands. not today, perhaps, but i often have time on my hands. :)
I have a sign in my car that says "No Whining Zone" Can't handle it when I drive, especially around here!
Don't I know it!! Thing is I have more timethan a parent now to organise things - like I do no house work when they are here! I used to try a new activity when the whining started big time with mine. Generally something wet or messy in a bowl! Like washing up plastic dishes or making flour paste. Distraction is always the best way I think.
Snowy, I've tried that, but mine seems to have an industrial strength memory which just returns to the whine topic as soon as the distraction is over! Do they outgrow that????
hello everyone happy mayday are we dancing round the pole?
karen is that your cat? soooo cute!
the other thing is LOTS of singing & stories !!!! I keep childrens cds & tapes and listening to those or singing often works. Ours know all their nursery rhymes
I am back to finish the grid, only 3 words left to find. Hello all you joiners since 10 am.
yes i have 2, one has green eyes one has yellow
Hey, inge!
I'm back
me too

Yes Charm they do! some time out on the bottom of the stairs also works! Difficult to deal with at first but they get it quite fast!
Unfortunately, snowy, mine gets bored with songs quickly. Anyway, off to pick him up from school. Thanks for the help everyone. Good luck babbling. See y'all later.
Hi inge, karenth, shorty & faeriekae!

Hi Snowy :)

hurshy, aim in place; see my profile for screen name, under my regular email. Not now necessarily, but whenever. I'm going to have something to eat, but I'm around.
I had good and bad luck this weekend..the bad was we were going away in our caravan but the car broke down....the good was that I could babble all weekend !!!
nvm, got it as soon as i asked...
Someone with a speech impediment who attempts to do something...
Sorry to hear about the car caitlyn , but as you say good & bad!
ok, so if i get those pesky u and z words, i will be done!
Go LeslieAnn go (do you need clues?)
I keep digging and digging and came up empty handed. So I am now begging: st 6/18, re 6/33 and re 4/4 please
re 6/33 - ms. barrymore's clone
yes please, caitlyn
re6/33 = make a picture again
re 4/4 - think movies

ja; i'll bet you did, Babbler! :-) impressed that i know about it? i've spent many summers in the UK.....half of all of them, while growing up, 'cos my dad's from there, so we'd visit with the relatives on his side.....i've been there in the spring a few times, too; sure is beautiful that time of year, just like here! :-)
it has New Labour associations, but never mind... :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAZEL. Have you had 'the bumps' yet? (That's one custom I'm glad no longer carries on when one is past a certain age! LOL.)
Jacula -- good happy may morning!
Happy Birthday for last Sunday Jacula
You guys make me laugh -- I turn 63 in 2 weeks -- that's really when the age thing kicks in!
**!@++$%&&+##@@&***~++~~~~~~~* ****####+++ HAPPY BIRTHDAY ----- HAZ + many more
Happy May Day!!!! Just popping in to say hello!!!! Hello!
No bumps yet! I've lived really dangerously today. Did no housework or laundry! AND I've eaten chocolate.
cybernan im only 10years behind you.
In our family it has always been a tradition that on one's birthday, no work is allowed!
Hi Mamabear
mmmm -- passes some cyberchocolate around in honor of Haz...
Goof for you, Haz. Now all you need is champagne.
Happy Birthday Haz!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!! BIRTHDAY CANDLES!!!!!!!!! (upside down!)
((((((((MAMABEAR!!!)))))))) H appy May Day!!! : D
* Meant good for you! I've had no champers today, honest!:)
Haz - that sounds like my daily routine... you should live it up a bit!! :)
i am not finding any words this way.... *diving into grid*
Chocolate -- that sounds good -- mind you I always think chocolate sounds good!
Not fond of champagne but we're going to my sister-in-law's for tea, so no cooking for me either.
Oooooooh, I'm going to bake some "Dark Black Chocolate Cupcakes" with Fudge frosting for Haz's birthday. Wish you could have one.
Stid - Mind how you dive into the grid, you might mix all the letters up! Mind you, it'd suit me 'cos I've finished. LOL.
((((((BABBLER)))))))) Glad to read that your convention plans are going well!!!!!
oooops!, it wasn't Movieman who said he'd be there, it was Dachef. or did Movieman say he was coming.... ?? List so far: Anj & Lola, Sherb, Spellit, Artlady, Rolin, Dachef, Moozey...
Greetings All. My birthday is on Saturday, May 6th. I'm turning an almost over the hill 39. My Hubby got us tickets to see a Red Sox game that day! I love going to Sox games and Fenway Park. We even got a babysitter!

lol! ok, let's get Moviman and Punster! (I forgot about that!) : D
tu4/6 cybernan
Happy May Day Babbler and thanks for the belated birthday greetings from others. It's Haz's day today though. ENJOY YOUR DAY, HAZ.
good for you Jacula! I just found another word, now up to 65 without the list, but not feeling like I want to spend ALL day on this grid!
Thank you Jacula!
hey Haz, I'll keep you company - I had a snickers bar AND a star bar today.... really, really naughty!! : /
Thanks, haz
Minski - if you'll be 'almost over the hill' at 39, where does that leave Haz, me, Cybernan & the others??:)
happy birthday haz, may ia a popular month for birthday smy husband and i share may 10 this year im 50 :/ he is 52 :D
That's interesting that you both have the same birthday. No excuse for forgetting!
... and me, Minski, I am 40 and a half.... : /
Im over the hill and nearlly at the bottom of the vale then LOL
All on the same side of the hill?
I have quite a few friends and family with birthdays in May... figure it's because lots of people take their holiday in August...
OK. Sorry. Stupid comment. Retracted.
yeah its a bit boring now no special day of your own
happy belated, Jac!
I'll be "over the hill" on my next birthday, and looking forward to the view! also looking forward to a slightly easier "descent" than I had climbing up! LOL
bleh...i have two left to do, and I'm seriously stuck on me5/22. Any hints?
me5/22 - past tense of a cat sound
I think my parents were on vacation in England when I was conceived. They lived and still do live near Boston, Massachusetts.
hey, happy birthday minski. sounds like a fun time.
I had better start the evening meal !! Catch you all tomorrow bye
I agree stidmama. ***raises glass*** Here's to an easier descent!***drinks up***
oh, thanks! I could've sworn I tried that earlier and it didn't work. Now it works...heh
bye, Caitlyn, sorry you can't make it to the babble moot : (
bye caitlyn :)
later caitlyn!
Bye Caitlin - have a nice day!
What's this I see about a zy6? Anyone have it?
minski- cajun music
zy6/45 - add the word that goes with art ****
zy6 is a type of music
I thought of it as a cajun music style
THanks haz and bendalina. I love that kind of music and can't believe I missed that word.
I have an om 4 and three ou 4's -- missing?
can you give any more hints about zy6?
I had never heard of it before but it seems to be familiar to lots of people.
it's really great to dance to. very upbeat
ZY6 add on a 4 letter word for an art form or architectural style from the 20s and 30s (I think).
zy6 + de4/6
There's a French word ou5/12
that's the music of the "Cajun" people down in Lousiana -- lots of fiddle and accordion. They were originally French-Canadians... it's really fun to listen to!
got it, thanks!
off to lunch....bbs
Thanks, haz -- thought I'd tried that!
later abe!
woot! I'm all done
congrats, bendamalina! : D
YAY bendamalina!
Congratulations bendamalina!
now, lunch!

Happy birthday Haz!!
Jaime THe tw5 & 6 is a kind of cloth or material
Thanks lynxxx. How are you today?
hi lynxxx! happy whatever time of day it is! Happy May Day!
right, I mean the other tw 5 and 6
Hi stid, Haz, mamabear, Minski, is the grid easy or hard today
tw5/22 - clued before as someone who can't say their r's attempting to say 'trier'. tw6/6 is the plural.
Sorry, don't have those yet.
Hi, scatty. It's quite an interesting grid once you get into it.
hi scatty - -so far not bad, I have 50 to go after about an hour, no list so far, but about to go seek out Lickety I think...
Thanyou Stid. 2nd May now and 3.30 in the morning
THanks Haz. Got them.
thanks!
*crossed eyes again* but that's the middle of the night! are you another night owl? or just go to work early?
thats not bad at all stid, have just watered the greenhouse as the sun has gone for the day, thought i'd have a look at the grid
That's good.
stid, who started nights after maternity leave, can't remember
i ended up staying awake until midnight (not a good idea for me since I am not a night owl) and slept until the dogs dragged me out of bed at nine -- so I am still not quiet awake yet.
knutmeg starts today, working the late shift, but will be home in time for the flip most nights.
see and you all moan at me for staying up late
*expression of innocence* who, me?
Stid. Go to sleep early - well 'crash' anyway - wake at a ridiculous time and get to work v. early - love the mornings though.
From the c in the second row I have 5 co's and 3 cr's -- missing?
has knut started her job yest or is she still about
i mean yet
lynxxx, I am a morning person by nature, but my beloved Tom is not.... since I can nap during the day, I stay awake for him and sleep late when I can. my favorite thing to do is wake up an hour before sunrise and go outside while it's still quiet, and listen to the world wake up. Magic!
Oops! I forgot I was in here. I've been away typing a quiz up for a friend.
scatty, I think knut went to take a nap, Liv was up a lot last night...
okay, I am off to fill in the list. back in a while!
From the c in the second row I have 5 co's and 3 cr's -- missing?
cr 4/6 or cr 5/14
no no i meant cr 5/12
cybernan, the last 2 co's are a mystery to me at this point
ty, Hurshy -- it was the fisherman's basket.
cybernan...co's where a lawsuit takes place...(that co?)
cr 5/14...sometimes kids like it cut off their toast....cr4/6..minus a letter from cr5/14
ty blueskies, there none so blind as those who do not see....
Have all the c's that I was missing -- blueskies, thanks
from the last d in row 2 I have 2 4's, a 5 and a 6 -- missing?

CR 5/12 and DE 5/16, 6/27, 7/40, 6/27
Thanks again, Hurshy -- must have tried every other combo --- can you guess which d I'm missing from the first one in the row?
Does anyone have the RE6/33 or the RE5/14?
Never mind -- just remembered what it must be! -- and was!
was it the second de 4/5? or the skin one?
re 6/33: made a sketch again
sketched again sewed bottom of skirt again
It was the dr 4/5
oh... i know that word from "rainbow valley" :)
THanks cybernan and hurshy. got em
'Bye folks. Off to make dinner. Happy May Day Babbling.

From the r in the third row, I have re 4/4, re 5/14 and ru 4/4 -- missing?
cybernan on the ru just transpose the last two letters
thanks, Krausbrew -- sometimes I miss the most obvious!
Must be time for a coffee break!
you are not alone!
<talking to myself>
was sudokuing... c + rod and r*** de5 to avoid answering temporarily de6 modest de7 more modest de6 avoids answering temporarily
bleu..first de6/27 a young lady should be properly de**** (shy, modest)
thanks ya'll. i was beginning to get a complex!
i go away for a few minutes a hurshy sneaks in! Hi Hurshy! I am NOT listless today LOL -- too much to do :-) I have only 42 words to find...
i have a lot to do too, stidmama, but i went listless anyway - only took 3.5 hours, i'm getting a little better. i thought i'd take a little housework break now and give a clue or two.
think i made the right decision if it took you that long! *bows in admiration* I am waiting for the laundry to cycle through so I can add fabric softener...
Does anyone have the 1st MU5/18?
stuff that comes out of your nose when you have a cold
oh, hurshy, there you are. I installed the thing. My name is under my email in profile - must go to grocery store today, so am in and out all day, but it's ready.
if i had gotten the list when i began to slow down, i prob would have finished in about an hour... oh how i waste my time!
Thanks Hurshy
hi mab! i've added you as a buddy - and vicuna got it also!!!
how about ME 5/14. I swear its right in front of me..

i need both RE 5/16s.
re 5/16: to color again the other is an adjective of the the re 4 between them.
I agree! I need two me4's. The last me4/5, and one of the first two me 4/6. I have the one that rhymes with a drink. Could you help?
the other me 4/6 means to join together, like we**
also looking for the last two me myself...
now I only need that last me 4/5...
Done!!! And the baby is still asleep so I can start folding laundry. Sorry to not stick around to give clues but have a ton of laundry to put away. See you tomorrow.

sorry, missed that, thanks so much, a bit slow today.
Just didn't want you to think you were being ignored. :)
no worries vicuña. I'm done now!
Congratulations!
AngelSong Thank you so much i missed it big time
btw, I'm headed to South America in June. Doubt I'll get to the Andes this trip, though.
Well, if you do see any of my relatives down there, say "Hello!" lol
I can't believe the Z word is in this puzzle! It's what I listened to all weekend, live onstage, at a festival here in Lafayette, Louisiana . . . Laissez les bons temps rouler, y'all!
lol Layne...I just did that one...my son lived in La for many years:)
TnDaisy, I hope you got a chance to sample some of the good life here!
*sigh* probably not...he's moved back to SC now...only goes back to La to take care of legal issues and see my grandson, when that witch will let him...
TNDaisy, that must be the hardest --
It is...but he has a good job now, making beaucoup $$$...and cant afford to move back there. He had a hard time getting situated after Katrina
Oh TNDaisy, so sorry he was among the hurricane-dispersed. Tough times -- Louisiana's still crying, for itself and for those like your son who won't be coming back.
I know...but he's not from there originally, just has an aunt down that way...most of his folks are in SC, so it really didnt' hit him as hard as the others...he lost some of his stuff but he wasn't too worried over that...the baby got out ok and that's all that really mattered.
Glad to hear it, and glad he's doing well!
lol He must be; I haven't heard from him in a while...guess his job and his g/f are keeping him pretty well occupied...and being a good mama, I'm not gonna bother him. He knows where I am if he wants anything. His little sister is jealous of the g/f, says that's what's keeping him from calling...but she's only 15...she doesn't know what real life is like yet.
hiya everyone any clues for the er 5/12 please i cant see it anywhere, thx
If you can't see the er5/12, you must have made a mistake.

dun dun dun DONE!
woot! good job!
just "red rose" tea -- my middle of the day beverage of choice... but Tom forgot his green tea this morning, so I can have some of that while I work outside!
sounds good. I've got this green peppermint tea that I quite enjoy.
going to wait a few minutes until it's time to switch out the laundry, though -- anyone want cluse?
I like peppermint tea, too -- grow my own, actually! (it's the only mint I'm not allergic to)
sure, what's the u and z words?
yeh what about this zy 6/45 anything else apart from its sum sort of dance thing
sandr -- do you know about cajun music? zy + de 4
us6/24 One who lends money at interest
no i dont stidmama but i now know the first four letters
the u -- it's the person who charges interest on loans... us + upside down n + consonant before s + "one who" suffix
it's the first de 4 -- an art style popular in the early 1900s
hmmm. I thought that zy was a type of art period. :) thanks for the clues!! the us as well!
thankyou stidmama thats an awful word to try and get
I agree sandr -- not a word that comes up in everyday conversation around here!
well, I hate to babble and run but food retrieval took up most of my lunch. I'll see you kids in a few hours! hasta la pasta!

See ya Shorty - enjoy every single bite Hon :)
Hi Evan :)
mmmm I will Ty
i have the news on ---- i look at all these marchers & i think of all the tax dollars this country is missing out on -- i wonder what's prevented all these many people from becoming citizens -- i am really glad it has all been peaceful
Helen-don't get me started on that. If they want to live in the US and PAY TAXES like the rest of us then they need to have green cards or stay the hell in Mexico.
4 to go but quite stuck on ... CE6.24, CU5.14 & 6.24(the first ones) and CU4.6 probably the last one (I have the one that is short)..any clues pls.
faeri - i agree with that - but i sincerely wonder why so many people have refused to become citizens & why this problem has gotten so out of hand
With out being Citizens they do not pay State or Federal Taxes and that burns me up.
YAY rumple ( I know she's gone already...) Hi Shorty! Hi Capone! lunchtime!
RIGHT ON FAERIE
stepping out again -- not going to talk politics today! see you later! :-)
ce 6/24 = plural of ce 5/14 ce 5/14 = ce + *** (spelled backwards), white & blue!!!
but stid - this is the day for political conversation
and the effontry doesn't stop there
Because the US has never tried stopping them from comeing in in the past and now that we are looking at possibly putting up a fence/wall they are pissed. But they can study for thier citizenship just like many friends of mine have and pay taxes just like the rest of us if they chose to but it is clear they would rather live off the rest of us Tax payers.
I bet the protests won't stay peaceful for long - demonstrators have completely blocked Northbound traffic at the San Ysidro border - people are going to start losing their tempers there and someone is bound to get hurt.
faerie - what also bothers me is that without becoming citizens there is little or no incentive to learn the english language - which, whether you like it or not, is the necessary common bond for success in this melting pot
yes, well, it plays in our favor if they cause trouble
TY for the CE Helen - the rest were CUs
and speak english - you can talk spanish too, but learn friggin english!
CadFan - your right-It won't be peaceful much longer you can see it coming
Amen Evan - learn the friggin languge if you want to be an American Citizen
i don't understand why there has not yet been an amendment to have a national language (at least start with one - switzerland has 4 national langues!!!)
lynxxxx - i am not done yet, but which cu's were the ones you needed?
Good Point HelenK - Instead in alot of the very Southern states Spanish is like the second language and it really shouldn't be.
my parents came here after ww II & learned english & became citizens, but they valued their heritage, so i did not learn to speak english until i went to school at age 4 - i believe they were very wise in that approach
Thanks Helen - Just need the CU 5.14 & 6.24 - (the first 5.14 after makes better. TY again
If they move here and pay taxes why do they have to learn english? Why don't we learn spanish. America is the only country where we only speak one language.
I am learning to speak spanish.
no, we speak two, but one should be official - this country was founded in english dangit
I have close Mexican friends who came here from Mexico and they also speak Spanish but they did learn English and got the Citizenship and are very good people. And that is the way it should be.
faeri - what really bothers me is that it seems like an overly obvious ploy to maintain the latino busboy & gardener workforce - it does not play in their favor to have everything in 2 languages - again, no incentive to learn the language of higher education & boardrooms
what two languages do we speak?
I have no doubt that many of those here illegally are also good people - and surely many of them speak English however.. they are here illegally and that is the issue. IMO
wurdy - why pick spanish? why not polish? or russian? or philipino? seriously, why favor the latinos? and no, it is not a numbers thing, don't say because there are more of them
america has a lot worse problems than people trying to make their lives better. i'm still shocked the streets aren't filled with english speaking americans calling for the impeachment of a corrupt and incompetent administration. with a full host of prosecutions for war crimes and a laundry list of other charges.
Shutterbug that is excellent and it is good to be multilingual (or how ever you spell it) Especially if you travel abroad. I would love to be able to speak Spanish just for when I visit Mexico.
yes, the law is the law. it's fine to want to be here, but if you want to be here, be here on our terms.
wurdy, as there is no official language, we technically speak them all.
i agree evan !!!
i am going to say my piece, helen then, and then I am going to log out of babble until tomorrow. :-( The reason so many people (primarily it seems hispanic but not exclusively) are here illegally is because the US doesn't issue visas readily to people who are migrants and poor. But companies prefer to hire people they can convince have no rights -- whether benefits, safe working conditions, or even the pay they were promised. The people companies can most easily exploit are those who have little knowledge of their rights-- those who speak little English and are convinced they will be put in jail if they report abuses. People who have entered illegally, faeriekae are NOT eligible for citizenship, or even for permanent resident status -- no matter how long they have been here, no matter the reason they came, no matter the citizenship status of their children. And MANY of them do pay taxes, without being able to access the benefits citizens and green card holders can.
Meantime, comfortable US citizens eat the food the migrants harvest, sleep in hotels cleaned by them, wear clothes made by them, and shop at stores that sell goods from other countries where the minimum wage makes even migrant workers here look well off!
I agree 100% Evan
IMO it is not a good thing to be egocentric. Mexico is a bordering country. As such, there is apt to be (and obviously is) cross over. Just like in Canada where they speak both english and French. Just like the European countries that speak a multitude of languages.
bonk - you make an excellent point - this country spreads itself too thin & does not nearly enough to take care of it's own ---- it's one thing to raise an army to protect against an invasion, it is another thing to be the invaders
stid, those are problems that need to be addressed by the mexican government, not ours. we are not the worlds babysitter.
No we are not the worlds babysitter. However, when we have companies going to Mexico so they can get cheaper labor, it becomes our issue. If we allow immigrant workers the oppourtunity to earn a fair wage, then the cheap labor that American companies get overseas will slow down and hopefully hald.
Then the Mexican/Spanish folks need to become US Citizens...Period and PAY TAXES
nafta - i didn't write it
I'm going to hush now before I make someone mad. going into lurk mode*
didn't say you did. Just commenting on your comment about issues needing to be addressed by the Mexican government and how they are not our problem.
Interestingly, illegal immigrants paid $7 billion in social security taxes, per a NY Times article from April 5, 2005 which is easily googled. And since they by definition get no benefits from those payments, they are pure charity to the American-born eldery.
all i'm really saying is that we can't fix it all on our own, it's mexico's problem too.
stid - i see your points, i understand the inequity of it all, however, it would be your arguements i would use as to why it is finallyl necessary to make some enforceable laws about immigration --- i have another problem with all this -- people are saying these illegal immigrants just want to provide a better life for their families, yes i see that, but when they take american dollars back to their countries of origin, they continue the inequities there, where they live like kings compared to the folks who couldn't/wouldn't come here to make money --- i don't believe is will see a world union (based on the european model) in my lifetime - that is a true shame -- global communication is lightyears ahead of a global economy
we have a military spread so thin you can see through it.
How is this Mexico's problem? Sounds like they are benefiting from this arrangement in several ways.
btw, isn't it illegal for an american to work in mexico by mexican law? just a little tidbit i remember hearing.
what does the military have to do with immigration? and language?
blam - then i sincerely thank them for those bucks, as i probably won't be able to cash in my own investments into ss, since it'll pretty much be bone dry by the time i hit retirement age
wurdy - evan refers to other issues of serious, yet unaddressed, interest to the us government
evan - LOL at your 4:24
yet related helen, patrolling the border seems like it should be a military issue...it is what other governments use for their borders.
well, that is another issue completely and I caould go on and on about that one too. But let's savbe that for another day. lol
thanks helen, i was a kid then, and still i could figure out it was a bad thing.
Though most of my family has been in North America for 400 years, I also know the struggles of my more recent immigrant-ancestors who came in the 1800s and the one who arrived last century. I know that every generation has a favorite scape-goat for any and every economic and social ill -- generally the most recent or largest wave of immigrants at the time. When will we learn? All of this sounds very much like the things Hitler and his cronies said in the 20s and 30s... when we start labeling people as "legal" and "illegal" it is a small step to labeling some as not worthy of the same basic rights.
lynxxx - sorry, i get caught up in the discussion -- btw, i have not yet called up lickety's list & i only have the make better cu's, sorry to be of no help
i like you wurdy - i love a strongly opinionated arguement, just so you don't think bad things about me.
oh Evan - I like you too. I love having interesting and logical conversations.
i think the hitler comparison is a bit of a leap.
i need to go now -- my meds are not strong enough for sustained conversations of this nature... but I thank you all for listening, and will read more of the conversation this evening when Tom is here and can help me. May you all have a blessed and peaceful afternoon/evening with enough to eat and a comfortable bed to sleep in.
Oh sacred babble grids, how i have miss thee
bye stiddy
:my meds are not strong enough..." LOL that was funny!
hitler was evil, we just want a few rules followed. hitler killed, we deport. not bad comparison - it must be the meds.
i mean bad comparison, not not bad :-)
stid - as the adult child of 2 concentration camp survivors & someone who's read mein kampf and the rise & fall of the third reich - i cannot even begin to undertand where you see any similarities with hitler
k stid - take care, see ya later - i may go find some meds myself now, :)
i do so enjoy discussions like these - even though i have my own strong opinions, i always like to hear other perspectives & review my positions in light of things i may not have known or thought of - thanks e1
is the Z used more than once?
that was fun! we should all argue more.
i agree evan !!!
shutt - i don't know, i haven't used the z once yet, :)
Only once Shutterbug
my husband hates to argue, half my fun right out the window
I don't want to speak for stid, but I think I understand what the concern she was conveying is- putting people into groups can often start the beginnings of an 'us' and a 'them.' Sadly, that can sometimes lead to a you are 'them' and therefore shouldn't have the same things as 'us' mentality. I think Hitler is just an easy example of separation taken to extremes, where 'they' become inferior to 'us'. To make stid feel a little better- I don't think that is where this is headed, I think people are welcoming, they just wanted everyone to be treated the same and obide by the same rules, in some ways, to avoid having an us and a them. =) And that may have made no sense and there fore contributed nothing to increased understanding!
I hear you evan - my husband hates talking about this stuff. I find it fun and invigorating
kaur - on the contrary, you make perfect sense - it's just the mention of hitler tends to immediately take some people to places far away from the topic at hand & the thread of the arguement becomes lost - thx
Let's face it, the balkanization of the United States is well on its way. I cannot stand hyphenated ethnicity. You are an American or you are not. If you are an "African American" and you go live in Africa, do you become an "African American African"? Or insert any other country of origin, then add the country to the end. How utterly ridiculous. See you all at the flip. God Bless America!
exactly bbnaz!
depends bb - do they get citizenship in their new country?
Any Brits on the board right now? Ask one of them how the UK feels about illegal immigration or New Zealand or France........or just about any place you go.
he 5/14?
Say they do Wurdy....don't you find the identifying phrase to be a bit unwieldy?
the last name of the actor who played napolean dynomite for the HE5,14
I do...but (you knew tht was coming lol) the reason African American is used is because of heritage. Just like Native American
i don't see why blacks get to be african-american & i have to be stuck with caucasian & not european-american - caucasian is not even an ethnicity
And I take umbrage with the term "Native American". My family has been here for over 15 generations...at what point to I become considered a "native"? And where is the anthropological proof of origination of any human species here in the Americas?
hi kids.
Blacks get to be African American because that is what they are. Their ancestors had no choice in coming here. They were kidnapped and their names were changed. Now they live here, but who knows(they certainly don't) where their lives would have been if they weren't kidnapped
you go helenkeller, you tell it how it is!
Tara, did that help? If not then HE + fourth letter of alphabet + second vowel + the letter before "s"
hk loves boreetos :)
not all african americans were ever in or have ever been to Africa. I'm not from Europe, nor have I been there yet, but my ancestry is. I'm only a third generation american. A lot of African Americans have been here a lot longer than that.
you cannot be serious. Native americans were here. they were called indians when america was discovered by columbus. You know this don't you? And Native americans get to be called that because they were native to this land. Before it was stolen from them.
but still, as HK said, we're stuck with an outdated term that doesn't really mean anything.
I believe the point was that, anthropologically, Native Americans did not begin here - they migrated here from elsewhere.
I think it means alot to the people that adhere to it. I know that I take alot of pride in my Native american ancestory.
uh wurdy - the indians are no more native to this land than anyone else - if they didn't cross over the russian isthmus, then they came on kon-tiki-type boats from across the pacific - i'm pretty sure that's where the research stands now
wurdy, that's a good point. Columbus was an idiot. He didn't know where he was or what the heck he was doing. But the fact remains that I am by all intents and purposes a "Native American". Because I was born here.
Well I was born here and have lived in the southwest all of my life. I know of no evidence that shows that any of the "indigenous" people originated here, rather most anthropological evidence shows them migrating across the bering strait. As it is, it is not an argument that will be won or lost here on babble. and I always check "native american" on my census as if you look up the definition of "native" in a dictionary, I more than fit into that description.
as an illustration, i am the child of immigrants. my family is british. in highschool, my friend wan was hassled constantly by the local bigot boys and idiots. wan got pushed around until one day he snapped and smacked this one guy right across the mouth. the simpleton's most popular racist quip was, " go back to chinkland" and the ever popular "gook" (it was the 70s and we learned a lot from american tv). me, i never had a moment of hassle because i looked right. wan's family had immigrated here to canada in the mid to late 1800s, to build the railroad, canada's national dream. he was a fifth or sixth generaqtion canadian.
lol bbnaz - i really like that census form approach :)
its true. Most people in the know that all human life originated in Africa anyway, and that life branched out from there. and if you buy into Christian Dogma, all people derived from the very same couple.
bonkler, excellent point
boreetos, makes the whole existence thing kind of incestuous doesn't it?
Someone said that without becoming citizens, there's no incentive for learning English. I beg to differ, respectfully. Have you ever travelled in a country where you couldn't speak the language? Immigrants try to learn English, if for no reason other than so they can find out where the bathroom is and how much the hamburger costs. That said, it is much harder for adults to learn a new language than it is for a young person.
you know this is point less to go on and on about this everyone has there own opionion so why dont you just drop it this could go on forever
i dont really see why labeling everyone matters anyway. Take a look at John Lennon's writings. He had the right idea. He imagined a world with no race boundries and no religeon, one in which everyone would live in harmony and not quibble over beliefs and physical differences.
national geographic has had an on-going study called the genographic project - purpose is to study history of human migration --- check out the web site - it's fascinating!!!! -once in a while, the pbs channel will air a 2 hour program on it, i strongly suggest watching it if you ever have a chance
it's fun, and layne has i point...maybe they're just pretending not to know the language to annoy us.
Or, evan, maybe they're working too many hours and don't have time to study and mull over how to conjugate "to be."
And it IS fun.
a favorite story of my friends about her daughter goes like this: they were visiting the statue of liberty and there was a large number of asian tourists on the boat. they kept bumping rudely into them and, because they thought no one spoke their language, made derisive remarks about us in our own country. her daughter turned on them, told them off fluently in their own language, capping it off by telling them to go back to their own country then!
so we aren't the only bigots out there.
any hint on er5/12? i'm baffled
sorry I was on homework help. I am logging off though beofre I get myself in another discussion. lol later.
Absolutely not, Evan. There's bigots in all flavors.
kaurie baffled or babbled?
yeah evanonut. incest is the reason for the society's downward spiral. THink about it, it we all started as essentially one person, then the genetic material to form new people is used over and over, in a complete and utter degradation of that original material. Modern genetists have proven that incestual societies are evolutionary dead ends. Not branching out into other gene pools is a bad thing. So, if we all come from the same gene pool, what chance do we have in the long run?
pick any one that fits- i can't find the thing
Hence the Ugly American; anyhoo I'm a Child of the Universe...so there.. I'm laying down now...later
bye wurdy - nice talking with you!
er5/12 the repblican politicians er*** when they tried to demonize migrants and alien workers to please their fundameentalist masters ;-)
bye wurdy. thanks for the opinions!
bye chic.
bye wurdy!
grr, i feared it was obvious. thanks!!
boreetos - i'ma christain, so i believe God took care of that problem in the beginnig, but if you're concerned, then it depends on the length of the long run! ;-)
Boreeto, I think that's backward. If we all started from one person (impossible, if you think about it, so let's say two people), then the first coupling was of very close relatiaves, the second tier of coupling was of cousins, the next tier was 2nd and 3rd cousins, etc. So we're getting farther away from that incestuous stuff.
hmmm, my goal was to get this little grid done quickly so i could lay down & watch my tape of housewives & grey's anat. & baby my head-cold -- that hasn't worked out so well yet :)
i make it a policy not to question God.
helenk - go baby that cold, we can have fun arguements later.
no layne - not correct, check out the national geographic website, you will find the opposite is true, we are all way more related than we might like to think
don't question god, question those who choose to speak for him/her/it.
Evan, I wouldnt' question Him either, but so far the comments I get from Him comes to me through men, and I DO question them!
bonkler, yes! sortof...
evan - wish i could -- but i must find 23 more words first -eeeeeek!!!
bonkler I think I like you.
layne, but if all people come from the same two, then all genetic material out there is, or once was the same. even mating with third cousins, is still reusing the same information over and over. For an example, say a man and a woman had eight children. Those eight paired off and had eight children each, those 32 children paired off and had eight children each, etc... that is incest. It would ALWAYS be incest. You'd always be drawing from the same genetic material.
But Boreetos, wouldn't you agree that incest with your 495th cousin is better than incest with your sister?
boreetos - do you really think God didn't think of that? i think he/she would really have to be off of his/her game to not think of something that we have.
ooo way to go, bonkler! nice one
ditto layne. religion can be a wonderful force for good. sadly it is too often administered by men who succumb to lust for money, power and control. pat robertson and jerry falwell and james dobson are no better than mullah omar or any of the crazed muslim extremists. fundamentalism is the attempt by a few to use faith as a cudgel.
SMALLER!
hey nut, just getting up to speed. you people have been busy today!
cudgel? who uses that word!
Nicely said, bonkler.
just having some fun smalls
Who is having incest with insects?
faerie! you deem is safe again! i dunno...
LOl I've been following along :)
Incest with insects seems wrong
i use cudgel, at least on babble some folks will actually know what it means. i love the descriptive nature of older terms.
conscience thinking is just that. WE've invented all these problems, named them and criticized them. THere are only those ideas that we've introduced into this world. Question god huh? Why wouldn't I question it? Here's one for you. The bible. Written by people inspired by God. Genesis lays out a simple and easily understood explanation of where the world came from. Interesting how the people who wrote the bible and had such a deep understanding of creation didn't know that the world was round. In fact, the Catholic church executed many people who stated that it might not be flat. Question everything.
incest with insects seems impossible faerie, i could feel your eyes following the log
Veruca, incest with insects would be DIFFICULT!
ROFL
difficult but doable
Yes, Boreetos. Especially: Question Authority.
a cockroach does sound tittilating
lol boreetos - well if you must, but to tell the truth, if i were to question God, the only thing keeping me together in trying times, i might as well stop existing.
lol smaller
im out kids, thanks for the talking! I love discussing religeon, theologgy and social issues. Forgive me if I get a little passionate and whatnot about it. I just get excited. :) see you all tomorrow.
i know a nice cockroach for you smaller, he lives just down the street.
actually, the person or persons who wrote genesis did not likely see themselves as writing a scientific account of the creation of the world, but rather a description of God's relation to man, since it was written from a pre-modern point of view. the moderns later took it to be scientific because that was they way they thought. and then people today question everything - that is a post-modern way to think. :)
boreetos you wouldn't happen to be a fan of Fox M - the truth is out there. I want to believe
I just beleive that if I moved to say Germany I would learn to speak German and to live by thier laws. I would not expect them to change everything for me.
Bye Boreetos :)
veruca. the man had a point once in a while. see you all later.
bonk, i searched the chasm of my brain for that last morsel for ya!
yes faerie, i would learn to speak german took, and i'd probably need a cup of tea every hour for my abused throat.
Good attitude, Faerie, but I hope they'd be patient with you if it took longer than they liked.
nut, just one? i work with about 30.
faeriekae - now your moving - what is going on today!!!!!!!!
LOL no shit
got a few under my kitchen sink!;-)
bye boreetos - enjoyed our talking today!
boree, twas fun
faerie a noble sentiment. but you would also find a good deal of the population speaks english as an expedience. many americans expect to travel abroad and carry their own special set of rules with them. i've dealt with lots of amerrican tourists who do stupid things and expect, "i'm an american" to be sufficient excuse and explanation.
I might be exacuted before I ever learned the languag I'm afraied.
Thanks, all. Daily chit-chat is nice but something meaningful once in a while is excellent.
bonkler, where are you from?
Evan - you need a roach trap LOL
bonkler - i agree -- i am often ashamed to admit i an american when i travel to other countries
There are actually 2 sources for the writer of Genesis- the P source and the J source as they are known in eccliastical circles. The J and the P sources differ in terminology and actual details of the story.
okay, i lied about the cockroaches (whew) i hid them under smallers sink for a treat.
ditto, bonkler
layne - are you leaving us?
*teehee* Smaller will never find them until she turns the light on in the middle of the night.
i've only ever been to haiti, they were real nice there.
i'm a canadian, child of british immigrants. my family was military. we have family in several euro nations. english is the language of business. i speak the least no. of languages in my family at 2 (awful french). the old man spoke , i think, eight.
Still here, Helen. For a few more minutes. Thanks for asking.
i took french in highschool because of proximity to the canadian border, oddly enough, i've never crossed it.
sounded like you might be leaving - i wanted to say 'bye' & thanks for the good chat!
HI, all, help with the co6/33 please
yes layne, you are a good point maker
Funny ..
nevermind, found the co6/33 (haha)
co6 specialty of Jerry Seinfeld, Jon Stewart, Ray Romano, etc.
tx une, hadn't found it
yw :-)
thanks for your kindnesses, Evan and Helen.
help me...where is the z used????
any time layn - btw, haven't seen you before, new or just drawn out by the excitement.
thanks folks, i have to go. i'm flying out west in the morning to say farewell to my dad. nothing like a good discussion/argument to divert one for an hour. i'll be back in a week or so. cheers all.
bye bonkalonk
Bonkler - what do you mean to say farwell to your Dad?
bye bonk :)) have a nice trip!
Bye Bonk have a safe trip :)
well, let's just say he'll find out if there's a god before we do. he passed quietly at 84.
i'm sorry bonkler
{{{Bonk}}} I'm so sorry to hear that. You be safe and I'll remember your family in my prayers.
I am so sorry bonk
awww bonk, so sorry to hear that - may your trip be fulfilling and comforting
bonkler, my sympathies. Safe travels.
and i do mean thanks. it has been a great relief to take my mind off things today, take good care all.
Awwwww now I feel bad for Bonkler.....I hate funerals and such.
evan, in answer to your question, I've been reading here for a couple of weeks, wanting to get involved in the conversation but a bit shy. But discussions like this draw me in.

I don't know what it is either but I do know what jambalaya is and it is yummmy
yay! dr_g, can't wait!
they are like huge rats with a beaver tail. they roam my parents' back yard
nutria are animals
Hi Dr_G :) what have you in store for us now?
no they're not wassup, you're making that up!
OMG - Giant Rats - No thanks.
W's: I have... we 5x2, we4x5 wh 5x2, wh 4x1 Missing?
totally serious. one scared the crap out of my parents' dog. he wouldn't go out to pee
wassup speaks the truth
I'm bringing over the Chatterbox from Iron Sudoku. And there will no longer be a need to flip between stats and the word list. And there will finally be fireworks. ;)
rofl wass!!!
maybe she just thinks they're cute to look at is all!
Dr_G when can we expect this new and improved Babble?
FIREWORKS!!!!!!!!
This week
wh4 x 2
well...they're not cute. just plain freaky. they're slow though, as far as I've seen.
the mand is a genius, i'll never get the fireworks, but he's a genius anyway.
*~*~*~*Dr_G*~*~*~* gets fireworks YEAH!!!!!
Hey everyone... I'm back from my grand aventure at the Library!
wassup, then catch one, cook that sucker up, and tell us how it tastes.
ROFL Evan
lol - here i wanna go rest my cold & i get stuck onthe mu 5/18 ---- lol ---- that's all i got stuck in my head -oh boy-o-boy
oh lord...you don't have to catch them. they're dead in the road all the time in front of their house! roadkill stew anyone?
Missing an s 4 -- anyone care to guess which one it might be?
must be the groundhog of the south then
Dr_G very excited to see what you have in store for us now. How can it possibly get any better :)
only I'm in Oregon. :)
thanks, GeeWhiz -- found it and it was , indeed, a wh4
okay wassup, whereever, it's all the same if it isn't pennsylvania ;-)
*catching up on the chat* Huzzah for Dr_God!! Sounds great!
gotta run for now bbl to finish
ok, good point. :)
There's sc4/6, st4/6, 2xsu4/6 & an su4/5
bye faeri :)
later f
Oh, & welcome to the madhouse, layne!!
Thanks, jera -- found it -- one of the st's Done!!!!
;-)
Bye, faerie!
Some really freaky short words today.
need th re 5/16 to finish. not the skirt bottom and not the coloring again. please help.
Bye Faerie.............. anyone want a clue before I leave?
mag - when you color a shirt again, you re*** it.
ooh nan! how about re 5/14?
mag - add sometime vowel to the previous word
re 5/16: adjective -- root is the r 4/5 before it
oops, sorry mag, only saw that first...;-)
i'm back, better get going, have fifty to do before the flip
evan - i think mag may strangle you, lol
re 5/14: turn up the bottom of a skirt or pants again
i hope not! i'm very funny about my neck being touched.
Hullo everyone. Quite an afternoon of babbling and chatting to Doctor_God I've had. I'm so glad he's going to eliminate the flip between wordlist and stats; so much easier for someone with a head like mine. Talking of heads, does anyone with better one have the 2 cu6's? And how can I find them?
Clue for de5/12?
thanks, duh... :)
sorry have the one with the sometimes vowel.
de5/12 add normal plural letter to woodland creature that doesn't need to be pluralised...
de 5/12: plural of the de 4/5 (doesn't seem right to me either!)
cu6's - people who heal, and a past tense of a cu4
duh! missed the past tense one, tx hursh
Hi Hurshy! -- missed your help on the finish!!
sorry cnan!!! was checking my email!
did you also go listless today?
yes :)
Bingo. Thanks, though we should consult a rhetorician.
thanks all. i'm soooo stupid. i thought i had the coloring again one but didn't.
We're overdue for a biggie -- just hope it isn't tonight -- have a lot to accomplish tomorrow.
lol mag, so techically i gave the correct clue?
evanout-- yes you did. thanks
It will happen Wednesday, cybernan... that's the day I'm insanely busy this week...
If nobody else needs a clue, I'll get back to my sewing.
hahahaha --- layne has a word from the grid in her bio just finished -all done - gonna go & rest now i had a really great time talking with everyone today - one of the most enjoyable chat days ever for me :))))
congrats, helen
good bye helen kay, may we have more similar in the future!
Go sew, cybernan, you know how I love to show off... ;>
lol evan --- watchout, mags might be kissing your neck now :)
Huzzah for HK!!
Bye :)
EWE!!!!!!
bye for now - maybe see you all at the flip
lol evan said a word!
hey, not technically!
what evanonut said is completely unrelated to the ew4, a pitcher.
hurshy, you're a marvel. And a mensch.I tried putting a past tense ending onto a cu4 term I had never seen before ( and assumed was a noun!) AND IT WORKED. Home run now.
Hi hetty, how many have you got to get
hmmm, i hope a mensch is a good thing.
tx hursh - *sticks out tongue at helen k*
of course i don't know why nut was bringing up sheep... did you perhaps mean EWWW!, nut?
yes, yes, i think that's what i meant hursh...ewwwwwww, because kissing my neck would be ba-a-a-a-ad
Hin there scatty. "It's time for every frivolous whim, proper or im" Tralala. And I have 35 to go.
lol
Wow, ya learn something new every day... i assumed ew4 was one who raised female sheep.
now nutty buddy, you did say a word earlier de4/6 when faerireiekae came to play. i was being mature when i didn't mention it earlier, that my brief affliction of that has now passed. nut said a word, nut said a word. ahhh. i feel better
and i thought it was one who says "ewwwwww!"
lol evan -- see that's the difference between me & hursh - hursh is a stickler for details, but ewe were 'close enough' & that's good enough for me
hetty, why? "I'm so glad he's going to eliminate the flip between wordlist and stats"--I really like it . . . .
Hetty - you are beating me by 20 at the moment
lol lol lol
smaller, does it count if you don't have the word yet? if it does, then ewe were correct.
LOL smaller!!!
nut, oh of course it doesn't count. for me. silly girl.
now, when did i say that word?
Most of the time when people say a word it's one they haven't found yet. So I guess it has to count or we'd rarely get to tease someone about it!
oh you people are tooo much fun, but this time i am really going - hk slowly moves mouse up to 'x' in corner
nut, but if you'll support that guy from van wilder to be morelli, i can upgrade you to the doesn't-count-til-i-have-it status
bye hk
i tend to say words like "this" and "into" even if i've found them already - they are hard to avoid!!!
bye helen keller!
i'm gonna have to hold back on the upgrade then, cause he is totally not a morelli.
hurshy, those are definitely the unwritten/unspoken allowable words. i have yet to see anyone balk at those
now, orlando bloom on the other hand, total morelli.
dang
then you didn't see yesterday when i said "this"! :)
Hursh, the woman who once called me a "mensch" said it was a Yiddish term for a gifted and generous person. I hav no proof she wasn't pulling my leg. But I wanted to pass it on in the hope you would be pleased. "It's May a risk in every way, and time to make each ta-te-ta day /One you'll always rue. . .tralala 've lwa
i'm lookin it up to make sure :)
refresh, morelli is in the house
think he'd be up for another role of cockroach-in-my-room?
A person having admirable characteristics, such as fortitude and firmness of purpose: “He radiates the kind of fundamental decency that has a name in Yiddish; he's a menschâ€
lemme ask him, he's "tied up" right now.
hetty, it's true.
well, thank you for the compliment, hetty. i don't think it's a word i'll be working into my vocabulary, only because it reminds me too much of menschtruation
No, correction "It's May, a libellous display, and time to make each ta-te-ta day. . ." (wish I could recall the ta-te-ta word. I once played Guinevere
he looks to young for a 'stache. not tough enough yet
s'okay, morelli doesn't wear a stach
maybe by the time the movies are made he'll toughen up a bit and age and fill out. kinda angular he just seems so delicate.
smaller, ever seen pirates of the carribean?
:( nobody laughing at my joke :( :(
us6/24?
yep.
us - a person who loans money for interest, or exorbitant interest
Can someone pleeeaase explain to me why there is a z??!!
sorry hursh, wasn't reading it. very clever
he was tough in there!
plese please please sofmeone help me with the "z"
but still "elegant" hard to be tough with flourish
Uneaxoise. . .just saw your question. I had a fisticuffs sesson with Dr_Gd today becauseof a discrepancy between the score earned yesterday and the one that showed up on the stats--appeared there was a problem for klutzes like me switchng from one listing to the other, that's probably whyhe's going to address it. But I didn't ask him to, honest
but he is cute. maybe he just needs time
well, momofadam, it all goes back to the ancients... a great propet foresaw the future, knew we would be playing babble, and said, "i shall invent a letter, the words beginning with which shall be so bizarre that babblers everywhere will be tormented... bwahahaha"
Z word- A form oF music often heqrd around New ORLEANS
wurdygurl, there is one zy 6/45 word.
no no, shave, make the hair messy, scar in the brow, very brooding, very sexy, very morelli.
er 5/12?
zy + first for letters of what you do to a cake when you put pretty stuff on it
made a mistake, wassup
wow, and to think of the stupid stuff I was trying... :) so obvious. Thanks!
thank you thank you thank you
ok i think i'm looking for more of a "wisened" look. morelli's been through a lot. viggo's face shows too much character. but i'll concede to orlando if he ages well.
johnny depp?
it's still a few years a way more than likely. he's got potential. won't he need contacts for chocolate eyes? i thought his are blue.
Hursh, I'm smiling (but not laughing outright, probably because "I've changed. . .") at your joke. But I do appreciate your wit. Trelala. Do you appreciate my singing "It's wild, it's gay, a gift in every way. . ."And like Wassup, I need er5/12
hmmm. too used?
lovely voice you have, hetty
scott patterson?
or is he too old? (mind you i haven't read the books i'm just going on what you said you're looking for)
Ohy, Wassup--it's the pural of le4!
and so the morelli debate rages on.
but what do you think of scott patterson? did you google him?
hurshy, think italian, sexy, good in jeans, great in bed, with a dangerous looking scar through the eyebrow.
i need to know if i'm on the right track or what modifications i should make - i'm trying to bring the two of you into harmony :)
Hetty, isn't there a verse with something about "prays that her lad will be a cad?"
well, does he have to really be italian??? how about colin ferrell?
i'm looking for darker thicker hair
hursh, you're a genius!
i gotta go with James Denton as my top pick.
the zy 6/45 can be found by going to google and type in new orleans music.
no no wait i have an even better one - he's actually italian - raoul bova - look him up!
refresh james denton
hangon, refresh for colin
how bout my icon? he's cuter...
rauol cute colin wins!!!!!
mind you smaller, james has potential, but colin is currently in character.
you're the expert, nut :)
that is why i'm evano - nut
i know - that is why i said it - nut
wassup, LOL blue is so white hot now!!!
;-) at hurshy
Layne...sure is "when very maiden prays that her lad/Will be a cad...It's wild, it's gay, a libellous display. . "etc. Lovely song. The only one I love more in CAMELOT is "How to handle a woman. ." But it's my husband who sings that one. He once played Henry Higgins to my Eliza, and everyone thought our marriage was really like that...
the 1st re 5,16.....?
well, i feel that i have been of some small service, even if i did not bring nut and smaller to agreement, and now i shall go put away laundry
I don't even know what you guys are talking about, but if you're discussing cute male stars...jake gyllenhal wins for me.
wassup. what IS your icon anyway?
oh hurshy, don't worry. we do this about weekly. It's FUN
I'm lazy, it's from the monster theme from yesterday. It's the abominable snowman from Monsters, Inc.
Jake would be a good one. But Jake and Colin are 20 somethings for a 30something role
i know but if you agreed then i would feel more brilliant :)
and I'm back
Take courage --now there's a sport. An invitation to the state of rigor morte . . . Humility? A noble yen. And very restful every now and then.
No, that's not right. Something else was very restful. What was it?
layne and faeire returns * purposefully ignores smallers morelli comments *
Refresh
I don't know what the guys are talking about either, certainly not the merry month of May. So, like Hursh, I'll away to my laundry
wassup! you're here! alas, what joy!
hey fairireieikkakaee!! nut, only be that makes me right, huh?!! LOLOLOLOLOLOL
oh, I'm here. :) Alas.
* thinks about smallers many flaws, considers taking on a new partner in the one for the money movie casting *
Yummy looks like dinner has been served.
i haven't done crap. i'm at 21 words. stupid job.
smaller, find a rougher pic and i'll reconsider.
evening, just about to start the grid...
Wombat - don't let work interfer with Babble that is against the rules ya know :)
Hey Featherbee :)
cr5/12 anyone?
lol, scanning the chat, looks a bit goofy in here tonight!
c + re4/4
Excuse me, fairie, you seem to have become Brad Pitt.
Hello Sarah C. I know you......
I have 26 left, but I'll never finish. I'm too busy watching narnia and talking with the kids to actually do anything babble.
Shlea of Ash!!!!!!!!
and refresh again :p
Yikes!!
Une, thanks so much
Layne not anymore :)
Tis me! I'm at work and I wanna go home!!!
lol faerie - you are way on the wrong track!
I want to go out! :) I'm at home and don't want to be here!
dang
gotta look for a younger man brb
he's old, smaller could be onto something if she can rough her guy up a bit.
Yeah that sucks too
yw, peri!
see, my thing is i would google hot rough looking italian man, and what would come up would be entirely...um..inappropriate.
cu6/24 anyone?
I might head over to the softball game. they're going to be slaughtered.
nevermind, found it, a plural
Peri, those who heal others.
evan...yeah. don't do that...
Haley's team will be slaughtered? Sweeeeeeeet.
or maybe is should?
yeah, they're playing glencoe. no chance.
i googled it, nothing came up!
nut, ptthhhhbbbttt!! I am THE primo picking partner for ya!!
that's funny nut. I was nervous for you. I remember in high school i googled breast cancer for a project and got a lot of boobs.
excuse me smaller, i don't see any new pics yet *taps foot impatiently*
Evan, are you messing with us? I googled it and got 18,800 hits!
i'm back - how about this guy - dean rehman?
ok - refresh
did you google it verbatim layn? and yes, breast cance did bring up a lot of boobs, must be the breast thing.
I googled hot rough-looking italian man, no quotation marks.
hurshy, nice! faerie, can't see his face!
ok, going to get pizza at the softball game. starving.... see you later froelica and wombat & everyone else!
dang gotta try again
voila, nut!! refresh
ou5/12 anyone?
nevermind, found it
peri, you have a real skill for that!!!! if it were an olympic event, you'd be a gold medalist!!
Yes, smaller, I do seem to have a knack for that, if only they were giving out gold medals LOL
getting close smaller, but i want a face shot, and then for good measure, i think i'll be needing a butt shot, and a shirtless shot to cover all the ground.
smaller - weigh in on my latest suggestion?
LOL nut!!!
he looks tough hursh, a good kind of tough, i'll let him try out.
missing the st4/6
hurshy, yep just googled dean. can only find one face shot photo, though. but he does have potential. good find, hursh
ty, ty :)
I did it again, found it, I must be smarter than I think I am :)
ooooo nut, when are tryouts!!! (if you split that into 2 words, i'd be posting a word but note how i'm not!)
when should we issue invitations to all these charming men to try out for the part in our movie that we're not making?
peri- LOL!!!!
lol nut
nut, well I'm sure colin, orlando, james and dean all babble so they'll contact us, of course. tout de suite
hursh, they all have to pose with me and smaller, you know, to make sure they take good pics.
yes, well, orlando shouldn't be a problem, though he is currently tied up.
natch
hey nut, during the photo op, we could fight over them, and if they're clothes should happen to rip off...well...we can't help that
can i have a clue for the first st6/18 please( easy if possible)
st + re 4/4
Hi peri
superman is the man of st6/18 but add an r after the t
yes, actually, i believe we should have them act out the car almost sex scene - we could take turns. then the clothes would have to come off!
could antonio banderas pass as italian or is he too definitely spanish??
you can have your guy, i'll try out with colin and orlando
Hi scatty, How are you doing with the game, I am almost at 100, would have had more but work interfered.
hey, if he wants to try out, i'll "look him over"
have 27 to go
Banderes (yum) would be a great Ranger.
no, i've already got a ranger.
refresh - how about this guy? his name is robert stocks.
Sorry, just popped into that conversation. Hi all.
thanks Hushy and smaller, would never have found it without your clues
refresh, ranger is in the house!
Ok Evan last one take it or leave it. Refresh

hey that's ray! :) robert stocks? anyone??
ROFL
oooh, hursh, he DOES look dangerous!
ok this is really, really the last one Refresh
Missing second re5/16 and re6/33
Hurshy I think your guy fits the bill rather well.
If I wasn't positive Evanovich had sold the rights to the Plum series, I'd try writing my first screenplay.
re6/33 -sketched again
mab, funny, i thought she said she hadn't sold them...but that was a while ago.
Really. I just assumed she had.
she's still writing in the plum series, can she do a partial sell?
think she can safely sell the metro series.
I would think she could sell them one by one.
beats me, i'll ring and ask her! LOL
btw, fearie - no.
still missing the first re5/16 I honestly can't see it, help please
boo! :-o
and don't forget Wentworth miller guys for morelli

It's called acting, Mikey.
Mikey looks like they want you to be a bad guy :)

anyone need any clues?
hi ren! BBL all! hursh thanks for the clue
new to this and don't understand the clues
of course you can, i wouldn't have given you my msn+ e-mail address
welcome bobkat! the clues are the first two letters of a word, followed by the # of letters and the point value
Thanks Scatty :)
bobkat, sometimes its easier to tell you a letter in a word instead of giving a clue for the whle word ei hook = r curve = c curly = e snake = s letter crossed = t
back, what'd i miss?
another offering from me, nut, albeit a bit young... but maybe in a few years?
Hi nut, where have you been
scatty, bathing, hursh, is that a hint to refresh?
indeedy, nut - nick abraham - tell me if you want me to zoom in on his face for ya
can't decide hursh, is it a vampire?
lol, NO - i'm guessing you don't like... let me try a diff pic
zoom in on his face for me! then the usual butt shot, ab shot, lines shot.
standard procedure, you understand.
you didn't miss much, Mikey changed his pic, he had too many admirers with the one he was using
hmm, yes, i can understand that, i'm always beating them off with a stick...
lol
like my ranger scatty?`
how many to go peri
i didn't know peri had gone
very tasty
tx, i keep him right next to my morelli.
nut - if your too busy, i'll look after him
ok, is this helpfuller?
oh, no! they're no trouble. a little duct tape settles them right down.
thats better hushy, the pic is alot clearer now, not so scary, i was waiting for a bat to fly past just now
hursh, i'll let him try out...you want in?
nah, not my type
i like james denton better myself - but i was going on suitability for the role.
i'm not so fussed about morelli as ranger, it's ranger thoughts that keep me up at night - oh ranger, ranger, womans perfect treat.
does anyone want any clues or have we all finished
f ?
i think i'd better go to bed, nearly nodded off there, good luck with the grid, nighty night, see you all tomorrow
nighto scatty
cannot find how to use f
nothing starts with F
nut - Sorry, your icon doesn't look beefy enough for Ranger, in my opinion. A younger version of Steven Seagal seems about right. Is there such a person?
or uses it at all
bobkat, it was weeks before i completed a grid, don't panic, alot of people dont finish, my friend has been playing babble for over 6 months and she has only finished once
sorry broll, i can't think of one, but he's a great ranger for me, besides, i think ranger is younger than morelli.
and ranger isn't really beafy remember, hes cuban american, are cubans beefy?
Hi all, I have to chime in here, I am OBSESSED with Evanoviches books, and agreed Ranger keeps me up at night also!!!
cat9 - yay!!!!!!! another ranger fan!
OHHH! that's what all the ranger references are! count me in! lol
Oh yeah!!! I just finished book 7, and am starting on 8, then on and on...LOVE them, Morelli sounds hot too, but something about Ranger, the mystique is soooo hot! :)
i'm forming a ranger gang, who wants to join?
lol, he could sneak into my room anytime...just don't tell my husband!
it's the bad boyness, morelli's a good guy now, ranger is still dangerous.
me me!!!!
we'll be the rangeman gang!
Yes, very dangerous, have always had a thing for the bd boys
so nut - do you also kinda want nila to leave michael for ray?
my theory is that i married my good guy, so ranger can be my bad guy.
I've gotta run, but count me in on the Ranger gang :) Byeee!
hursh - who, what, who?
lol evanonut, sounds like good rationalization to me!
your ranger is ray on ER.
night cat feather, i have excellent reasoning skills
45 left...focus girl!
oh, you mean in my icon?
yes
this thingy working?
there it goes!
'twas quite the hush.
i'm trying to focus, not working! have a friend chatting with me, hard to keep track of where i was.
i thought perhaps it was a case of "and so the babbleverse ends, not with FIREWORKS but with a yes"
like in narnia - the water comes.
grr...he6,24?
featherbee he6/24 extend your he4/6
Hi everyone. I am totally stumped by the cr5/12 and the cu4/7 & cu5/20...for the life of me I can't figure out how anything can come before the first cu4/6! I must be suffering from hysterical blindness. Can anyone help?
all done
featherbee the 2nd he4/6
oooooh, i was somehow thinking it followed the pattern of the he4,5...can't alphabetize or count apparently! ty
I am finally finished with these idiotic non-words...does the happy dance of doneness
Eva cu4/7 think of Miss Muffett and her cu4/7 and wh4/11

Eva cu4/7 think of Miss Muffett and her cu4/7 (singular) and wh4/11
Ea, there's a basket fisherman use. It's spelled like th first cr*** (what you belive) except the last letter is the stick one.

Good morning all. Can someone please help me with the Me 5/14. I can't see it at all. Thanks.

me5/22-past tense of the sound a cat makes
Something the kitten did...
wassup: what the cat did yesterday
wassup me5/22 cat sound
thanks, wasn't even trying that corner!
hey bash, our kitties look related. Is yours a Maine Coon?
Actually, she's not Maine Coon...she's a mixed up breed, but she has a tiny head and tiny muzzle, and her legs are way longer than a Maine Coon. My boy kitty is a mixed up breed, also, but he's definitely got Maine Coon in him. Your kitty is gorgeous!
Kitties!!
tw 5,22?
mrprez, your kitty pic always makes me laugh!
Yours is beautiful too - much thinner than Merp. He is also mixed breed, but obviously has a lot of Maine Coon in him- the tufted ears, tufts on the bottom of his paws, doglike behavior, squared off body.
first st6?
featherbee - tw+ word for 12 months but take out 2nd vowel.
like the hard metal, with an extra consonant after the t.
that was for the st. Hi mrp!
lol, oh sure, i use that word every day, how could i have missed it! (slight sarcasm there...) thanks!
Ah, mine both have the tufted paws...sabrina has dainty little paws, but my Sebastian has those big ol' Maine Coon paws. Kitties rock! Sorry to those looking for clues - I need those clues, too...
featherbee - now make it plural.
yeah, figured it would be

well feather, we should all help you over the finish line. What do you need?
I am down to my last three words so I am begging. I need me5/22 and 2 tw's--I have the hairy fabric ones so I'm looking for tw5/22 and tw6/36. Too bad there isn't a "p" in the grid cos I feel a right twerp

hetty me5/22 the cat made this sound
I think Dianne just gave us clues for the tw words...

me5/22 is the past tense of sound cats make. the tw's are weird ones. Dianne gave a good clue at 9:29.

Good night, Eva -- see you tomorrow!

not sure, stidmama.Haven't looked at the list on BabAnon, because I don't want to tempt myself! Have people coming over right after work tomorrow, and if I don't go tidy up now, I'm gonna be embarrased. :) Thanks for the offer, though - I'm sure we'll play together again soon!
I waited until an hour before the barbeque and bought some. :) It was suprisingly good though.

TY, but what kind of a word is that??? Oh well, we takes 'em whenever we find 'em. I do appreciate it. This is the first time I've only had to ask for one word. thanks again, Oggy and Diane
I'm back for the flip. Anyone need clues?
YAY mklein!
good morning, Oggy! Hi Diane at al...
Wassup -- you're a lot prettier than you were earlier... ;-) you clean up right nice!
morning stid.
I've gone to the islands for some plumeria.
Hi stidmama :)
ooh, you smell pretty too? hm. maybe I should go back to the lilacs... brb
This is as exotic I get.
yes, that's better. now we don't clash. :-)
very nice. anyone else watching supernanny? man, my kids are angels compared to that kid!
Lilacs are about the only "smelly" flower that I am not highly allergic to. And one of the few non-native shrubs that actually grow well for me!
Haven't ever watched more than a few minutes of that show-- it's depressing how out of control some parents let their kids get (kids who really don't have anything wrong with them!).
13 minutes left to flip... anyone want to be confusled by master confuslers wassup and me?
Hi - I have jkust realised only 14 minutes to go and I still have 2 words left !!!!! Ca anyone help me with CU5.14 and CU6.24 (the first CU ones listed on Lickety)
Yeah, exactly! The kid just tried to throw a fireplace poker at the tv!
a healer and healers....
lynxx, think of what you play tennis on and then plural
yeah, just gave you the co... hmmm. maybe someone out there needed it?
ack! a fireplace poker? that is really out of control. how old are they, anyway? (assuming you're speaking of the children on supernanny....)
cu5/14 - one who heals you.
Thanks wassup but it is CU I am after
but we're not tired, are we wassup? we can stay up as late as we like because we're all grown up and nobody can tell us wha...t ....to..............d zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The little boy is 5. My daughter's 5. She wouldn't throw a stuffed animal at the tv. She knows the scary mommy would come out... :)
Thanks Dianne !!! Finished just in time
Exactly! Maybe I need supernanny to make me go to bed on time!
my kids were the same way. when they acted out, beyond what we "allowed" we always knew to look for something else going on that they weren't able to articulate.
lynx - good for you ! !
YAY lynxxx!
10 min left, any clues? Come on people! I want to help, just like I helped lynxx!
seems you helped me a good bit, earlier today -- or was that yesterday? BABBLE! all the grids are starting to run together. It was Monday today, right, and tomorrow is Tuesday?
all done waiting for flip before i go to work.
I helped (gulp) you?? Wow! I don't remember. I'm usually the one with 50 to go and only 5 minutes. :)
Evening, all -- everyone done?
hi there nan! just waiting.... and chatting. Lovely snowdrops you're wearing this evening!
not snowdrops -- lily of the valley for May
There is only one thing in the world that I want right now. It is french fries.
It's nice to see all the flowers this evening --- have we declared a floral icon day?
tu 4/6please
I wonder if knutmeg is lurking? She went back to work today, you know -- hope it went okay for her!

I want some ice cream and cookies, but will wait for the flip...
